CorePower Yoga: what do users think?

Rose D: Tyler is a great instructor. She should teach more classes. Unfortunately many get canceled. Lindsey and Tyler are also good but less intense. The studio is generally clean and the classes are comfortable in terms of spacing. Weekend classes are very packed but not as bad as the georgetown location, which is entirely unacceptable. The locker area is not particularly clean there and the overcrowding of classes is poorly managed (signing up for class won’t guarantee you a spot, nor will you want it once you walk in and see how jam packed it is). Dupont and city center are definitely better locations

Stefan Smith: I travel to DC regularly for business, and usually visit the CityCenter studio when I am in town. I decided to try Dupont Circle last Saturday because there was a great class time that really fit with my schedule (there seem to be a lot less C2 classes compared with YS). I really enjoyed my experience! The studio was easy to find and was conveniently located. I was warmly welcomed, and everything was clean and in great condition. I took C2 with Kia at 9:30. I was blown away to learn that this was her first class as a teacher! Kia was confident, poised, and easy to follow, and she definitely came across as caring and knowledgeable. I really enjoyed her flow; it was challenging, creative, and really allowed us to use and explore our space. As always, the class as a whole had a great positive energy; I have been using CP on Demand for the past year, and it has been great getting back into the studio with other people! I will definitely return to the Dupont Circle studio when I am back in DC!

Maria Langholz: One of my favorite CorePower locations in DC. Like that there are lots of people in the classes, and the instructors are A+. LOVE Rebeca's Sculpt class. Tons of fun and a phenomenal workout. Be sure to get there early to get the spot you want for your mat!

Reggie Johnson: Took Kell’e class last week and it was amazing. She’s very knowledgeable and has amazing energy . I will be back again to take her class. I’m no yoga pro at all but she helped me with the tough position and I really appreciated that.

e j: Great studio. I’ve really enjoyed their classes and instructors. Giving 3 stars because they’ve recently updated their schedule to no longer offer the basic class at this location except for the weekends. That doesn’t work for me. Will now have to cancel my membership.

Adrianne Daisy Hjalmar: Corepower is where I came to truly enjoy yoga! I love vinyasa in the heat format. I used to be a gym rat and would attend various yoga studios for my yoga time. Once I found CPY, I no longer needed my gym - Sculpt classes gets my cardio and toning! I no longer needed to go to Bikhram yoga studios - HPF does that! And of course C2s are great and very challenging . When I don't want a lot of heat I slip into a challenging C1, which is pretty much unheated. Instructors are super friendly and I've made friends with other students that I still have three years later! Love the community!

Taylor Camille Hood: It's a convenient location and decent sized studio and they really do work your core. I enjoy the classes and would like to continue going, just wish there were classes at 2 or 3 in the afternoon here.

Jackie Moruzzi: My instructor was so friendly and encouraging--her 8am sculpt was packed and it was a great workout

Maria Webb: The instructors are friendly and welcoming, most importantly, they make sure you get the most of your practice.

Zae: This place is perfect! There are some great people that work here that are there to make sure you get the most out of your practice.

CorePower Yoga: what do users think?

Andy Tables: I love (heated) CorePower but the heat at this location (the only location accessible to me given my location and work schedule) has been broken for several weeks. At first they noted that the classes were UNHEATED on the schedule but then they stopped being so diligent. I showed up for a class that was not heated and it was cold & muggy in the room. Really unpleasant experience. Then they got these rented(?) portable heaters that raise the temperature to somewhere in the 70s but add so much humidity that you can’t see anything in the mirror after the first 10-15min of class (essential!) and the floor is so slippery at the end of class that it could cause a serious injury to someone exiting. Instructors joke about it. It’s again very muggy and unpleasant, like sitting in someone else’s sweat I understand that things happen and maintenance always comes up, but they aren’t marking the classes as UNHEATED when they should because the portable heaters just don’t work. I’m disappointed and feel like I wasted my membership money. It’s misleading and I won’t return until the classes are actually heated (but I won’t know when that is because they don’t communicate honestly)

Rory Merrill: CorePower has me hooked! I came for the first time in August and had the best experience. The studio is always so clean and the instructors are very friendly. They will help you with your yoga practice wherever you are. I would definitely recommend this studio!!

Caroline Fernandez: I have taken two classes at CPY, both hot yoga classes, and they have been great. I am not a yogi by any means, but I found the classes very easy to follow. Note that at CP, there is no instructor in the front of the class, so I wouldn't go if it is your first ever, ever yoga class. The classes are small in size and you get a lot of attention from the instructor. I would totally recommend the candlelight class as it a challenge for balance but also a time for you to reflect on your own yoga practice. The facilities are clean but towels/water bottle/mats cost money. The studio has their own fancy filtered water fountain and the locker rooms are nice and clean. There are also showers on site if you are heading elsewhere right after class. Be sure to bring your own lock for a locker.

Lauren Legum: My experience with Core Power began at Glover Park! Sculpt got me hooked from the beginning, and now I am on in sculpt teacher training. The class has made my body so much more toned and is a motivating way to lift weights with other high intensity activities! I also enjoy C2's and HPF classes to deepen my yoga practice. I love the warm, small studio vibe. Each class is different dependent on the teacher, and I enjoy the various strengths of each teacher. Sarah Freedman, Kalli, and Julia- I really enjoy your classes!

Cigdem Jorgensen: I love this studio and I love that they have side mirrors as well! It’s super clean and organized. Everyone’s very friendly too. I tried a free week this summer and since then I’m in love with Sculpt! I go to the studio every other day and every time is so exciting. The app is super friendly and easy to track my practices too. The only problem is that the Black Tag Membership is WAY TOO expensive!!! There should be a package for 6 months or 1 year with cheaper prices otherwise it’s not affordable for many people unfortunately.

Billy Franch: The best part about CorePower Yoga Glover Park is the instructors. They are all amazing! The studio space is great for yoga, too- the lighting, heating, humidity, and music are on point.

Ali Hendi, MD: The studio is clean and has friendly staff. The new manager is receptive and engaged. Classes push you to do more without judgement. Great overall experience.

Margaret Fisher: Fabulous community that embraces all yogis -- from first-timer to well-experienced. I look forward to the warm welcome I receive when attending classes there. Top-notch experience all around and SO beneficial!

Maria Gaffney: I love CorePower! They have so many different classes and have them available all day! The instructors are super friendly overall it's a great experience.

Nicole Olshan: I love everything about CPY and their Glover Park studio certainly does NOT disappoint! Great classes, encouraging staff, and a positive aura are just a few of the reasons why I love it oh so much!

CorePower Yoga: what do users think?

Yaro Levada: I had a fantastic experience! I come from Germany and we just don't have this kind of cool, dynamic, fun classes there, it was awesome! I felt so refreshed, energized and motivated after Sculpt at CityCenterDC. It was clean and studios on the second floor overlooking the street were light and spacious. I LOVED the playlist too, great music!

Mardi Muru: Always a great experience at this location. Most recently I tried their no heat yoga sculp. By the end you could have fooled me with the no-heat claim, I had worked up a sweat just fine!

traci kato-kiriyama: Good, clean facility, really nice staff. Convenient location for convention center attendees. Hot Power Fusion class wasn’t too hot - temp gauge was up but heater is competing with the cold from outside hitting the wall of windows. Two single stall restrooms per dressing rooms designated “women” and “men”

Joe Paul: First off, Mandy is amazing! I have been seriously weight training for several years and CPY's YS Yoga Sculpt challenges me every single time. I always leave that experience feeling very centered, highly motivated, and like I can conquer anything!

Bita Motesharrei: I have been a founding member of Corepower since they first opened their first studio in GT. I have always had issues with the cleanliness of the studios. It all depended on the manager of the studio at the time since they do not have professional cleaners. Two days ago I took a class at the CityCenter location which is my favorite studio and it was so dirty and gross. Bathrooms were absolutely filthy with hair all over the floor and even inside the studio there was a thick layer of dust at the ledger and it completely grossed you out when you try to practice. I told the manager but she was dismissive. There is no way to contact the headquarters since they never respond to you. Plus, there are not as many classes scheduled anymore since they opened back up after the pandemic. I am very disappointed. I hate to write a poor review but I am hoping they pay attention because I used to love this place and I have continued my membership to help support them even though I have not been taking as many classes since after they opened post pandemic but I’m not sure if I want to keep my monthly membership going anymore

Stefan Smith: I travel to DC regularly for work and always practice at CityCenter when I’m in town. The location is perfect, and I’m always welcomed and made to feel like I’m a “regular”. The classes at CityCenter are always well attended and have an inspiring energy. The studio and other facilities are also always clean and well maintained. CorePower is a pretty physical and strenuous style of yoga. I don’t think I’ve ever sweat more than I do at CPY!!

Genie Concepcion: The sound system was busted but the class led by Elizabeth Harris was still amazing! I like how there are designated spots per mat now. We’re no longer on top of each other during class.

Fuming Cao: Great studio, right above a flywheel. There is a 7 day free trial for first timers, easy to sign up. Everyone is super friendly. Definitely bring water and towel, recommend doing any class but the sculpt class if it's your first time. Rooms are heated quite a bit. Don't borrow the mat, not good quality and little black crumbs come off when you apply any friction.

Nicole Williams: In DC on a trip and was looking for a yoga facility close to my hotel. I was more than surprised by the facility as well as the class itself. Absolutely amazing. I attended the C2 class was a great workout and enjoyed the instructors style. Locker room, showers, and amenities are super clean. I definitely recommend CorePower Yoga.

Lindsay Hart: I was in from out of town just for the day and found Core Power Yoga on a whim. I LOVE that they had a middle-of-the-day class (12pm). The teacher was amazing, perfect heat and flow. Really enjoyed the class and studio and will definitely be back!

CorePower Yoga: what do users think?

Rose D: I’ve been to this location a few times and each time I find that the floors in the studios have a good amount of hair and a film of dirt. I also noticed that the showers are not cleaned between classes. I have noticed the drains were clogged with hair on a few occasions. The classes are good but it very much depends on the instructor. Also, it is worth noting that the classes are sometimes “at capacity” and they will turn people away who have signed up because there is zero space between mats/people in the studio. I think this is too much. They should manage this better. They shouldn’t let a bunch of people walk in and then turn away those who signed up. The classes also shouldn’t be so packed that people have to navigate around hitting each other, especially coming out of the pandemic. Each class is heated, which is kind of unbelievable given that it only decreases the quality and flow of air and thus increases your chances of catching whatever illnesses people may bring to the session. While you can wear a mask, it’s not ideal given how hot the room is and with everyone huffing and puffing nearly on top of one another it’s not much help. This studio really needs to manage overcrowding because it detracts from everyone’s experience and that is not fair given how expensive each session is. It’s certainly not a stress free zone.

Nutiatu Adetayo Adesokan: Elizabeth is such an amazing person. My friends and I stopped by just to ask questions and she greeted us with open arms and we ended up discussing life and our yoga practice during the pandemic. She suggested doing the c1 class to get back in the grove of things. We laughed and had such a good time. You guys have such a great employee there!!

Anna B.: There are some good instructors at this location but the studio overpacks it’s classes. The weekend sculpt class taught by Olivia is uncomfortably packed and because it’s a heated studio it’s even more uncomfortable to breathe. People are mat to mat (not even inches apart) for that particular class. I’ve seen people who signed up turned away because they let too many walk ins join. It’s actually pretty gross in terms of vibe and not at all hygienic. People hardly have room to do the exercises, and they are often overly complicated for a mixed group of expertise. Ashley’s classes are packed too but there is usually at least some inches distance between mats. It would be helpful if this studio could advertise what the capacity for each class looks like so that people are not uncomfortable when they attend or , shockingly, turned away after signing up. General yoga 1-2 classes are not as packed but the instructors for those classes are just okay.. The dupont location and city center location do not seem to overpack their classes , but I suppose their management is handling class capacity better.

Gayla Mithzue Jimenez Martinez: My first time ever trying yoga sculpt and it has been life-changing! I love the energy in all the classes and the feeling I get after every session. I recommend it 100%

Kalyn Letizia: I took the Saturday 12:30 PM sculpt class with the instructor, Emily. It was AMAZING. The flow was so great that the hour went by in a flash. I felt like I was able to get my yoga and a great workout in at once. It's definitely one of my favorite classes of all time!

Kristen Murray: Yoga sculpt is the BEST class. Great work out, slightly heated room. I received a discount on a ten class pack on Gilt city and the classes NEVER expire which is unheard of for workout packages in DC!

Susan Brown: We had a blast! We do not live in the DC area but were in town visiting and enjoy finding fun workout stops in our family travels. My husband, 15 year old daughter and I took a terrific vinyasa flow session. We all highly recommend.

Jessica Glaspey: I enjoyed the intensity of workout and the blend of yoga and weights for Yoga Sculpt. Great studio set up, fantastic instructor! I will definitely be back for sure!

Nicole Lohr: I like the convenience of this studio but it is very pricey. I tried it out because of a groupon but cant afford to continue with them. They have a clean studio and 99% of the instructors are friendly and helpful.

John DeRiggi: Rebeca G's sculpt class is an incredible workout. Perfect blend of aerobic and all around strength training

CorePower Yoga: what do users think?

Colleen Duke: Clean, great location, level 2 heated classes are a beast in a good way. Staff and instructors are very nice and competent. Just yoga, no weird incense or meditation stuff.

Jan Christine Looney: Came to this studio for the first time while on travel and it reaffirms my love for CPY.. Took Anne's sculpt class Monday morning and it started my week off right.. couldn't have been a better first time experience at any studio. Thanks for the support in my practice and continuing to make every CPY my hOMe away from home!!

Ria: I absolutely love hot yoga -loved CPY in Denver so I decided to try Fairfax location. The studio is clean, inviting and the staff is friendly. If you love yoga & want to feel amazing you must try Hot Power Fusion class.

Genevieve Llames: I am so happy that I joined this studio. The instructors are amazing - they're helpful before, during, and after classes. Classes are fun, each instructor has her/his own style. The schedule is great for everyone, as classes start really early and go until around 9pm. The studio itself is always clean and presentable.

Lindsay Pancoast: My husband and I went to a class at this studio while in town visiting his parents and had a great experience. The front desk employees were friendly and welcoming, the studio was spacious and clean, and the instructor (Anne) was incredibly motivating. It was the perfect way to get in some NYE exercise!

Vivi Vu: First time trying yoga. I did the yoga sculpt class and I thought it was a good start to my yoga goals. I've done mainly hitt classes in past and looking for a medium between the two and this was exactly it! Instructor was very nice. Clean facility. Will definitely try this again.

Sara Caso Conde: This studio really is as good as it gets. It's always clean, quiet, and serene. The studio manager (Ava) really sets the tone, always kind and welcoming, offering an encouraging smile everytime I arrive. The teachers are competent, friendly, and helpful at all levels - always ready to give you that much needed adjust/assist. I love the candlelight 8:30pm classes with Meghan and Nicole - I challenge you to find a better way to unwind after a long stressful day!

Julieisinger Sedell: I just tried the free week and I really like the workout; it's simplicity, completeness (the poses are some of the more simple ones, but it's spot-on in its variety) and reliability in that I know the set of poses which will be covered in each class. It takes the pressure off needing to find the really good teachers...they are all good AND the workout is good! I am looking forward to being able to really monitor the progress I am making as my body is able to progress in theses repeated poses. I like the spaciousness of the bathrooms too!

Eric R: The facilities are clean and inviting, the instructors are all wonderful and friendly, and I can always find classes that meet my personal schedule. Since going to CorePower I feel more relaxed and healthier, I've lost about 10lbs (mostly around the belly), and my flexibility is back! Thanks to CPY Merrifield this FL boy survived the winter and looks forward to the warmer weather and hopefully a beach bod 😉

Armaghan Hafezsanati: Studio was very energetic and even It was my first time at this location and mosy people seemed to know eachother, I felt very welcomed. Ava was my instructor and she was very helpful before, during and after the session. She introduced me to the membership options and I was very pleased with her feedback. Looking forward to many yoga sculpt now.

CorePower Yoga: what do users think?

brooke szczesny: I signed up for the three free classes special for new students. I previously took one free class at the Adams Morgan location. For that lesson I arrived 15 minutes early, as instructed by the website. No one was there to open the door until right before the class started which was very irritating. For my second free class I chose the Bethesda location. I arrived precisely on time . Yet no one was there to open the door. It hadn't even been one minute after the class start time, I knocked on the front doors repetitively but still no once came. I waited for 30 minutes to see if anyone would come out to check the door because I could hear the instructors voice from inside (and I assume that she could hear me knocking) and I wanted to at least get my parking ticket validated. No one came out.I had parked in the parking garage below the petsmart as instructed. The timestamp on my parking ticket also proves that I arrived before the class time started. This is honestly one of the worst yoga studio chains. I can see why they were having a three free class special. I completely understand the policy not to open the doors after a class has started, but instructors should be more attentive about opening the door. Especially when they have the list and total number of students available to them in the check-in system. Thanks for the free class special! A waste of gas and parking money 🙃

Kathryn Mullan: Positive: Communication, Professionalism, QualityLove my local studio! Great to mix up my usual workout routine with this high energy yet grounded yoga practice. My fave is the Yoga Sculpt class!

Amber Moran: Positive: Communication, Professionalism, QualityIt is great to be back in studio! The staff has been extremely accommodating and making sure safety standards are kept during class. It makes me feel reassured and comfortable practicing in person during these very crazy times. Highly recommend!

Joshua Knepper: The instructors are great, And it feels like they actually care for each individual student. Yoga is helping me sync my mind and body to push it to limits that I didn’t know existed. I do have my favorite studios, and CorePower is one of them.

Patrick Cardichon: The front lobby needs work. It is dark and the clothing racks are not placed to make you feel welcoming. The people in the front should spend more time fixing the front lobby clothing racks than talking about who is going to teach the next class. Other students in the studio can here them talking. There were 6 people in the front desk and no one was taking the time to make the front more welcoming. I rock a ton of studios and CorePower in the metro area and this is the most non-welcoming CorePower. The insane thing is that it is in the most expensive location, so I expected more. Also, the location is not easy to find. Please place a sign outside. Even an instructor and another student said the same thing to me and my friend. They said we got lost too. Listen to your audience. My friend and I rocked Tenlytown and she said wow, it is night and day. You are right, this place is amazing compared to Bethesda. My name is well known in the fitness world (NYC, DC, MD, CT, VA) so put it out there. The class was super dope!!!

Sisi Delgado: I had a free week to try out the space, the instructors were super friendly. Everything was clean and hygienic. I took advantage of the week and took 4 classes and can I say I’m officially hooked. I feel alive with so much energy. I’m for sure going to buy a package and become the fit girl I dream to be. One suggestion will is for them to provide disinfecting wipes to clean yoga mat at the end of the class.

Adam Isenberg: This is by far the best workout I have ever done. Instructors are outstanding and the Sculpt class really moves. Has provided me great results in the year I have been going (1-2 times per week). Will continue to go as often as possible.

Rebecca Gorin: This place is great, they have all levels of classes and offer them throughout the day. Sun B.'s classes really stand out, she is great at creating sequences that cater to all levels. She takes the time to both demonstrate and explain the poses so that everyone can work on protecting their poses and ensure they are doing it correctly. Her passion clearly shows as the play list and sequence flows nicely leading up to the more challenging poses at the end. She is mindful of potential injuries and that all bodies are different and encourages students to listen to their bodies. This allows everyone to safely alter poses while still gaining all the benefits of the class. She also switches up her routines and playlists regularly allowing students to work various body parts even if they take her class daily. She is highly trained and has made teaching yoga not only a hobby but her life passion. She is truly unique.

Xavier Peterson: From start to finish one of the most fulfilling workouts I've experienced. The session felt like there was no rush and the instructor was attentive to those in need. If you don't like to sweat try something else. Rachel Rocks!!!

Art Dwight: I love everything about Core Power Yoga in Bethesda! The classes are just the right mix. Love the available times, convenient parking (and free), the aesthetics and cleanliness of the studio, the quality of the instructors and most importantly, a fantastic workout!

Flow Yoga Center: what do users think?

Bonnie Lessans: Flow is one of my favorite things about the neighborhood; I miss it terribly now that we are in a different neighborhood! The studio is tucked away next to Whole Foods on P Street, and the spaces are cozy. The teachers are fabulous: I have been in a class with Joan now for 3 years and can't say enough about how wonderful she is. I also have taken the prenatal yoga class on Sundays for a while, which is great with Jen! Most of the other teachers I go to (not as consistently) are also great. Everyone is well-trained and quick to help with accommodations and anything injury-related.

Melissa Luke: I adore the Flow Yoga studios. I really appreciate that the instructors recognize students trying to bust out of the 1.5 level and really become more advanced in their practices without being pushy or too demanding, but expecting improvement. I also would like to give a shout out to Anna at Flow for being the best damn heated flow instructor I've ever had. She's intense but in a great way! Clare in core is also amazing and I love/hate her for it.

justin hampton: Incredible classes and teachers for all levels of practice. The waiting area feels like a spa with its big bay windows, pillowed cushions, and fresh hot tea. The best part are the people there, both the Karma Yogi’s & Fellow practitioners, it is a wonderful community

Samantha Power: All of the classes are beautifully taught by teachers will an intention to guide, strengthen, and heal. Many classes have a spiritual dimension as well, something I was looking for when I came to Flow. I feel lucky to be a part of this amazing community!

Tierra Wilson: I’ve attended yoga sessions with Ashley Allison. I always leave feeling so renewed, strengthened, and mentally relaxed.....and the music is always good!

Luke Lukens: The most consistently excellent studio in DC. Offers a variety of styles with knowledgeable teachers in each.
Response: Wow, thank you! We hope to get you on our roster one of these days too!!!

Sandy Major: Incredible rude staff! Classes weren’t as good as advertised compared to other yoga centers. Strongly not recommended!
Response: Greetings Samkeh. I'm so sorry to hear that you had any kind of negative experience at Flow - esp. any lack of warmth or kindness from our staff. That's something we prioritize with all of our staff, and we are 100% committed to getting right. We'd be more than happy to offer you a full refund for your class/es, and would also love to hear any details about when this occurred and what happened, so that we can follow up constructively with whomever was involved on our end to get it resolved to your (and our!) satisfaction. Please contact us at your convenience at happiness@flowyogacenter.com. Kindly, the team at Flow.

Terrance Flood: I never tried yoga before but these people were really great.

Margarito Linares: (Translated by Google) Well for the whole community I have never been to this place but I would like it. Be training stand up of this community to overcome. My energies from my body and thus leave always successful in everything that I intend (Original) Bien para toda la comunidad yo nunca he estado en este lugar pero me gustaria. CorePower Yoga: what do users think?

sasha vanessa brenes: Positive: Communication, Professionalism, QualityNothing but a great experience at the studio. Studio is clean and all the instructors are wonderful and challenging! I've been teaching yoga for 30 years and the instructors push you to challenge yourself. Love this place!

Shino Y: I love core power and this pentagon city studio. Very clean, organized, and instructors are all friendly and professional. I feel so refreshed each time I go to take core power lessons. Thank you!

Kimberly Castro: I love CPY! It's a haven from all of the stress and chaos of everyday life. Pentagon City is one of the most well-run studios in the DC/MD/VA area and is extremely clean. Alyssa and the team are always friendly and thoughtful about feedback. Linh and Amanda are in my top 5 when it comes to HPF instructors. Keep up the great work! Hoping you can bring back physical assists in the near future. Those were always helpful in terms of alignment and are very motivating.

Rick Gingras: Andrea led a great Yoga Sculpt class. I'm an experienced Spinning instructor and really appreciate a dedicated and passionate instructor in any type of class. We were visiting for the Army 10-Miler and the class was perfect for us. Great studio/facility, great location and, most importantly, great people. Friendly, welcoming and warm. So nice to find this wonderful haven! THANK YOU SO MUCH and hope to see you next year.

Thomas 4-2-3-1: I liked the varied yoga style classes you offer. Monday 5 days before Christmas, I took an 8:45 pm class, the teacher was having fun and was very good at correcting form. It made it fun to be there. It was a good class and the class went through a nice flow and include warriors and etc. It also introduced some not often used yoga poses. I teach fitness classss, only one yoga class though, it was a great class because it flowed and used various poses. Plus the people are super friendly.

James Demonstranti: The staff at the Pentagon City, Virginia studio has made my yoga experience second to none. In just a short time, they have made me feel like part of a family and a team. The studio manager, Tommy Maselli, does an incredible job of making all the clients feel welcomed and special. Each and every visit to the studio elevates my attitude and enthusiasm. All of the instructors are motivated and well prepared and provide a first-class experience. In particular, two instructors stand out, for me, as the best overall fitness instructors I have ever had the pleasure of working with. Taylor M. and Kelsey On. are always incredibly prepared, thoughtful about their routines, motivating, positive, and professional. They never fail to provide every client with a smile, extra assistance, and attention. They are intelligent, hard working, and extremely knowledgeable of anatomy and physiology. I am an Army officer with over 26 years of service and I can honestly say, with no reservations, that these two incredible instructors provide a fitness service at a quality level which provides health benefits above and beyond anything offered by top military instructors. I recommend the service that Tommy and his team at Pentagon City provide to each and every individual I know who is interested in maintaining or beginning a healthy lifestyle and needs a way to elevate their spirit and attitude. Update 2/27/19: With the passing of time comes, inevitably, change. The last couple of months have marked the departure of outstanding manager, Tommy, and an amazing instructor, Taylor. However, Tommy‘s departure made room for the arrival of a new manager, Eleni, who brings with her genuine excitement, an amazing personality, a desire to make the Pentagon City location the very best, and a general all-around wonderful vibe. Under her leadership the studio keeps getting better day by day. Additionally, with Taylor’s departure I have explored other instructors and have been fortunate to partake in classes taught by Julia T. I just can’t say enough about how amazing of an instructor and a person, in general, Julia is. She has amazing energy, spirit, motivation, and is such a kind soul. Together with the rest of the staff (Kelsey O, Sarah F, Monica St to name a few of the amazing instructors) there is no better place in the NCR to get your fitness on while calming the spirit.

Barbara Young: Sculpt yoga is an awesome workout that is the best combination of strength and yoga. Plus, the heated setting really elevates the class to another level of intensity. I've tried other yoga classes but Core Power Yoga has nailed it with the right types of classes, class times, and locations. Instructors are all great.

Rachel Ingham: Love this studio! Every instructor is very knowledgable and friendly. They are very supportive of your practice no matter your skill level. Excited to further my yoga practice here!

arlin cruz: Love CorePower Yoga!!! The best classes and instructors ever!!! As part of the Set Team, I feel so welcomed and love!! Best decision I have made in joining such a great team:)

Joanna Ellis: I love this location. It's a super convenient spot, the instructors are all amazing and it's a great workout! I always leave feeling accomplished and excited for the next class.

Lighthouse Yoga Center: what do users think?

Jennifer Holshue: I love Lighthouse. The teachers, the variety of classes, a ton of interesting workshops, the unpretentious vibe, and community-focused ethos have been a welcome presence in the neighborhood since coming to their Kennedy Street location. I try to practice with them at least a couple of times a week, and with online and in-person classes available, it’s convenient and fun. Everyone, teachers and students alike, have all always been kind and welcoming. The studio itself is always clean and obviously well cared for. Highly recommended!!

Kelsi Van Veen: Amazing community, tons of great classes and workshops, wonderful people. Just recently started taking classes here and I wish I wasn’t so busy because they have so many fun workshops to try! The classes I have taken have all been fantastic. It’s quite clear the studio has attracted a community of diverse, wonderful, and welcoming human beings. Pics are from an outdoor class with Jazmin a few weeks back. She was fantastic and connected with and recognized the needs of each one of her students. As someone that has only dabbled in yoga, I was glad to find a place that is unpretentious but that has extremely knowledgeable teachers to learn from!
Response: Thank you Kelsi! We really appreciate your support!!!

Amanda G: Great community and quality yoga. The owner and all teachers and staff at Lighthouse Yoga are committed to teaching a serious yoga practice that everyone can benefit from on and off the mat. The new location on Kennedy Street is a gem that gives this great community a place it can call home. I've been attending classes since June 2018, and really love the variety of classes from the Kundalini classes (this is the only studio in the DC metro area that focuses on a strong Kundalini program) to the variety of Hatha and Vinyasa classes. I quickly became a regular here, and I've seen that everyone who attends classes is welcoming to those who are new members, new to yoga, or people just visiting DC.

Kelsi Van Veen: Lighthouse Yoga Center has been a wonderful find since moving to Petworth. Such a diverse community of people and they are so welcoming! I really enjoy being able to try many different types of yoga classes, and there seem to be a ton of great events on the schedule every month. Having the flexibility to take online classes from home as well has been great for my busy schedule. Highly recommend.

Tara Lemerise: Lighthouse Yoga Center is a gem. Beautiful space with welcoming staff and teachers. It's so encouraging to find a yoga studio that is invested in supporting the community, knowing your name and your story, and welcoming you just as you are. Everyone here is interested in helping you get what you need from yoga. Check it out. You won't be disappointed.

M: I have been coming to the studio for 4 years. I love that the studio offers so many options to take Kundalini yoga, especially in D.C. proper. Julie, the studio owner, is the epitome of quality, community, diversity, inclusion, and social justice. I see this also amongst those who come as well. I love the variety of instructors and workshops/retreats that I have had over the years. There is always something new in the mix, whether theme/series/knowledge that I glean from the instructors as well as from my fellow yogis. And I do like the option to take Pilates and other yoga classes as a member. :-) I have made some of my deepest and closest bonds being apart of this community. And I'm so grateful!

Shely Benitah: The online virtual kundalini classes have made such a difference in my life. I've been attending almost every day and wow does it make a difference. Julie (Jiwan Shakti Kaur) is the best, always offering such powerful classes. Such a friendly community that is welcoming with open arms and supportive always encouraging healing, spirituality and growth. Oh so grateful for these classes, book club and workshops offered, the teachers and community. Highly recommend :)

Jazmín González Moya: A place where you're noticed, cared and appreciated. Lighthouse likes to build community, to help each other out, and the quality of yoga is excellent, too many different teachers with their unique styles of sharing their passion: Yoga. This is a place where you can come to be yourself, be treated with love and always feeling encouraged to grow and become a better version of yourself!

Emily Tamkin: I'd been to Lighthouse Yoga Center a few times before the pandemic. Since stay at home started, however, I've taken multiple classes a week every week. Their online kundalini classes have arguably been the thing/service that's helped me the most during this time - they are such a good exercise for the body and the mind. I look forward to be able to go back far more than a few times in person.

B C: Great Kundalini Yoga studio. Very authentic, with great teachers , feels very neighborhoody and reasonable. I just started and although a bit far for me, I look forward to coming . Just like other reviews stated , easy to register on line, friendly and true sense of sharing the art of yoga with community. Highly recommend!

Washington Yoga Center: what do users think?

Jennifer Dances: I have practiced yoga for much if my life, traveling and experiencing yoga studios wherever I am in the world. I've been with the Washington Yoga Center for many years and it is top among all the studios and teachers I've experienced. I am so grateful to call it my yoga home. The teachers are wonderful, knowledgeable, diverse, caring, and professional. Whether you take class with Alice, David, Jen, Ronnie, Stanley, Susan or any of the others - you will not be disappointed. There is something for everyone. The studio management is amazingly supportive, welcoming, and caring, and always has the community's well-being top of mind. I highly and enthusiastically recommend the Washington Yoga Center and I hope to see you there soon.

Elaine Su: I've been coming here for a few months now. I enjoy practicing yoga here. The manager, Kaitlin, is very friendly and helpful. I will recommend this yoga studio to my friends.

Allyson Kramer: I've been practicing here for years. The quality of teachers is awesome! There are various yoga classes offered- easy to find something for everyone. The recordings library and zoom classes have been a blessing during covid. Great owner and managers too. Helpful and kind. I can not say enough nice things about the studio.

Emily Pedneau: This studio feels like home, and really fosters a beautiful yoga community. I've never had a bad class, and I enjoy all of the teachers. Throughout the pandemic, they have been communicative, adaptable, and a real source of support. Their transition to online classes was flawless, and I have no doubt their transition back to the studio will be the same.

Cecile Fruman: I have been a longtime member of WYC. It's one of the best yoga studios in DC, offering a wide array of classes taught by outstanding, seasoned and thoughtful teachers. The studio was swift to move to online classes during Covid and has continued to offer the same variety and quality of classes. This is more than a studio - it's a community of yogis who share a passion and are driven to cultivate a positive environment. I would highly recommend WYC to all those who are seeking to start or deepen their yoga practice. And it looks like classes will be moving back to in person in January 2022 - I can't wait!

Kaili Mang Jeyarajah: Positive: Communication, Professionalism, QualityThis is a yoga studio that offers teachers plenty of creative freedom and support, so you have access to a broad range of yoga styles and many classes at different times of day. They have stayed faithfully online during the entire pandemic! We are looking forward to them carefully opening in person as well, very soon.

Susan Cooper: Positive: Communication, QualityLove, love, love this studio. I have been practicing here for 16 years. The variety of classes offered for all levels, the quality of the teachers, some who have been there as long as I have, and the low key welcoming vibe make this a perfect yoga studio. Highly recommend.

Brenda Mejia: Positive: QualityWYC is a wonderful studio, with excellent teachers, management and a community of yogis that truly care about each other's well-being. There is a nice variety of classes and something for everyone, no matter your ability or experience!

Emma Mehrabi: Positive: Communication, Professionalism, QualityI’ve been going to WYC for several years now and absolutely love them. They transitioned flawlessly into pandemic yoga teaching online, and I’m so happy that my favorite instructor, Audrey Roxas, is still teaching for them. Can’t say enough great things!

Laura Laudone: I've practiced here a long time, I enjoy the variety of classes and teachers. The studio has done a good job of going virtual during the pandemic, but I'm looking forward to in-person classes again.

CorePower Yoga: what do users think?

Melissa Montgomery: First visit and the sculpt class with Madeline was great! I love that she showed how to modify everything to make it harder or easier! Definitely bring a towel and a giant water bottle for class. Showers and water stations are super convenient as an added bonus. The location is perfect and parking was easy.

Dave Jamieson: Fantastic first full yoga class experience! My wife is an instructor and has done her training through core power and I have nothing but good things to say from every vantage point I have had! I'm hooked!

Vince Doss: Returning to my Fairfax Corner studio after getting vaccinated is such a pivotal moment in my journey. Studio manager Tatiana Suh is a truly gifted teacher and gentle spirit that made our return seamless. I am so thankful for her leadership and tremendous teaching staff I’ve practiced with since returning. Old teaching friends, Tatiana, Lindsey and Joe, and new friends Ava, and Becca have all made this the best place ever!

Alli F: I am new to yoga and tried out the C1 class with a friend. I was pleasantly surprised by both the location and the instructor class. When we walked in they were welcoming. The class moved quickly, and the room was warm but bearable. Even though I'm a beginner I felt able to do the basic poses along with the class. My instructor today Lauren was great and I especially liked the constant guiding and verbal cues as well as the variations she gave for beginner to more advanced. That made me feel more comfortable knowing that I could do the level I was comfortable at. Overall it was really a perfect experience and I plan on returning to take class with Lauren again.

Tom M: This studio has all the right people, all of whom have amazing attitudes and perspective. The studio's strong leadership and the teachers' diverse expertise make for a one of a kind experience, each and every time I've attended a class. While part of the current teacher training session, I obviously have a strong passion for this community but to put it in perspective, I've felt this studio had all the right and amazing people since day one of only December '16. It took one free week to discover and appreciate such a wonderful and passionate community.

Emily C: Corepower Sculpt is the best addition I’ve made to my workout routine. It’s something different that you can’t get on your own, and the instructors are all so motivating and push you to work hard! I love the Fairfax corner studio and have had amazing workouts with multiple coaches there!

Casey Washington: Taken several different classes there. The teachers are fantastic. The studio is nice and the locker rooms are awesome. Everything you need to get ready (soap, shampoo, conditioner, lotion, deodorant) is in the locker room in case you forget! Just bring water, a mat, and a towel (and clothes to change into after) and you can get a great workout and on to something else.

Craig Markley: Core Power at Fairfax Corner is a terrific yoga school. The teachers are kind and genuinely care about the students. There is plenty of parking and the Black Tag membership allows unlimited visits. It is exactly what my wife and I were looking for. Keep up the great work Tatiana, Joe, Jobs, Trish and all the super teachers. Namaste.

tricia wang: I love there are so much choices, such as intensity, teachers, schedules, and great smiles.

Sarah Danaher: The instructor (Amanda) was phenomenal! I am new to yoga as a whole and she made me feel so welcome and supported!! Everyone should take her class and visit the Fairfax Corner location. It is stunning!!!

Homegrown Power Yoga: what do users think?

Katie Chernowetz: Absolutely the best yoga studio around! Warm and welcoming with excellent instructors who are encouraging, motivating, and happy to offer beginner and advanced modifications. Each instructor has their own style, but they are all equally amazing! The community they've built through this studio is so supportive and wonderful - can't say enough good things. Plus, you'll get a super challenging and very sweaty practice! Always feel energized when I leave, even after the 5:30am class!
Response: Katie thank you for the leaving a great review! Love that you are loving being a part of the Homegrown Community!

Ericka Schmitt: After trying several yoga studios in the area, I can firmly say this is now my home studio! Even though this is a hot yoga studio, the studio is always clean and smelling fresh. Because they use radiant heat from the floors, you don't have to worry about being my the heater vent or having a whooshing noise when the fan kicks on. There is ample space and it never feels crowded. The studio offers special classes, like teen and inversion classes. I love that they practice Baptist's style yoga!! There's always a neighborly feeling - Everyone is so friendly and non-judgmental. It's not a pretentious studio and everyone is at different levels. The front desk staff are super nice. You can ask questions about the poses, items to buy, or memberships and feel comfortable and not pushed. I can't say enough amazing things about this studio! I highly recommend trying it!
Response: Thank you Ericka for taking the time to leave a awesome review. We are happy that you have made our yoga home with us! See you soon in the studio!

Laxmi Rai Shrestha: This is a wonderful community of people and you feel so welcomed. I started practicing yoga for my knee pain, back issues and to get fit. I have worked out in the gym before but have never had the impact I got from coming here to practise hot yoga. My body feels so whole and happy having practiced here for some months now. Alison is an experienced and gifted teacher which resonates throughout the class. Together with the Baptiste style yoga practiced here, it renews not only your body but more importantly your mind. The yoga poses practiced here can be done by anyone and very effective. Also here you find people of all ages and fitness levels practicing together. The studio is decorated beautifully and spacious. The floor is cushioned so you can practise yoga safely.
Response: Thank you so much Laxmi for your awesome review!!

Susie Littlejohn: I’ve been going to Homegrown Power Yoga since March 2017. In that time I’ve seen the growth of the inspiring and welcoming community. Alison has created a beautiful space for anyone from beginners to seasoned practitioners. The classes are challenging but accessible. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a great yoga practice with a fantastic community!
Response: Thank you Susie. I love having you both part of our HPY community!

Tom Butler: I was passing thru the area and looking for a yoga studio to take a class. I met Alison and was a part of her class for only one session but she was very inviting and encouraging throughout, all while pushing me to get outside of my comfort zone and do some yoga! The class was intense and she helped me modify everything I needed to in order to accommodate. If you're looking for a studio with friendly, knowledgeable and above all kind people, please check out this studio! ...If I lived in the area I would definitely go back here!
Response: Tom it was great to have you visit us at HPY! Thank you for taking the time to leave a review-hope to see you next time you are passing through!

Jonathan Andert: I started practicing at HPY last summer as a beginner and it has been life-changing. They have helped me grow immensely. The instructors are inspirational and Alison has created a welcoming community to all - as they say, AnyBODY can do yoga. You are always greeted by name at the door and feel supported all the way through the practice. Come in and try a class today!!
Response: It has been really amazing to see your show up and commit to your practice, you have earned all of your growth! Thanks for taking the time to leave a review!

Nate Shirey: As someone who never did yoga before, the Homegrown yoga leaders are amazing at helping and pushing you without any judgment. Alison, Andy, and Becca are all great teachers and friendly people who try and get to know everyone that comes in the door. Take advantage of the first month trial and student discount if you can. Best money you can spend on your health.
Response: Thank you Nate for the awesome review. We love having you part of HPY community!

Rex Ahlstrom: If you are considering joining a yoga studio, be sure to attend a class here before deciding. Personally, it's been very transformational for me. I get a great workout and my overall health and wellbeing has improved dramatically. The instructors are great and they really care about your personal progression. Highly recommended.
Response: We really appreciate you taking the time to leave this review. Rex it has been great to see you show up, and continue to make time for you!

Steph W: I walked into HPY over a year ago looking for a unique yoga community. And I found much more. I found a warm home like community of truly wonderful people. Alison has cultivated a supportive and safe community of yogi’s! The space is welcoming as is Alison and all of the regulars. Super motivating to be your best on and off the mat. The classes are challenging for the mind and body. I highly recommend HPY if you’re looking for a fun, hot, sweaty, yoga community!
Response: Thank you so much for your awesome review Stephanie!!

Stephanie Frye: I've been to a number of yoga studios over the years but have yet to enjoy one as much as I love Homegrown. It's intense but fun, the instructors are incredible and anyone that can get me into full Wheel within my first 10 classes deserves 5 stars. I don't think I've done one of those in over 15 years! Love the community Homegrown as built!
Response: Thank you Stephanie. We love having you both part of Homegrown community. And you are the one that got you into wheel!

CorePower Yoga: what do users think?

Antwone Gainey: My first negative review I’ve ever written in my life and it pains me to do so. The instructors are amazing and Laura is such a wonderful guide, but my experience with management was so distasteful. I’ve never felt profiled or treated like a second class citizen until today but the level of negativity she expressed towards felt dehumanizing or maybe black men aren’t welcome in her yoga studio, or maybe we aren’t allowed to use the restroom, (which she came in by the way). I enjoy my weekly routine too much to stop going so I will be switching locations.going forward please treat everyone with dignity and respect, yoga should be a welcoming environment filled with live and positive energy, not an interrogation.

Manisha Khendria: The atmosphere is very good , the teachers are very friendly and polite and let you get comfortable in the area , i loved it . I really like Alex and Caroline in the studio . Thankyou for the warm welcome.

Sharon Burner: Sculpt class will make you sweat! Bring lots of water and a towel. Clean facility, lots of room to spread out, teachers encouraging and so fit!

Pablo Perez: My instructor, Merari was the bomb. Today was my 1st yoga class. To say I was out of my element is an understatement. But, I never felt uncomfortable. Merari did a great job teaching the class and encouraging me at the same time. I highly recommend taking her class. The frozen lavender towels at the end of class are awesome. Go see Merari at Core Power Yoga in Falls Church. I wish I could give her more stars!

Donna Calderone: Love this studio. Don't forget water and a towel to keep from slipping. This is hot yoga and definitely tell the teacher it's your first class. ALEX IS THE BEST!

tamar mintz: I had never been here before, so figuring out where CorePower was in this mini town center proved to be more difficult than I would like to admit. Studio - beautiful and clean. Front desk Staff - Informative and helpful. Monica checked me in (and also was teaching my class - more on that later) and gave me the run-down as to what I could expect. Class - Great studio and environment. I should have really looked at what class I was signing up for. I have been off my yoga game, so probably should have started with a level 1 class. That being said, the flow was a great speed and challenge. The only thing holding me back from giving CorePower 5 stars is that there was little to no direction as to what the poses were. Part of this is definitely my fault for the class I chose. I was able to quickly look around and catch up, but a little more guidance would have been helpful.

Manuel Larrain: I decided to drop in randomly one afternoon. In fact, they happened to be closed at the time but Jewels, the store manager, opened the doors and invited me in as I'm sure she could tell I was out of my element. She was very kind, welcoming, and answered any and all my questions setting the bar pretty high as far as expectations regarding the rest of her staff. Let me say, flat out, every single staff member here is just brilliant. There isn't an elitist bone in anyone's bodies and they do such a great job at making your experience as wonderful as you want it to be. Seriously, the atmosphere alone is worth the 5 stars. Regarding the facilities. The air is fresh always and the studios are super clean as are the lounging areas and locker rooms/restrooms. If you have plans shortly after class, they have showers with shampoo, conditioner and body wash available as well as lotion and mouth wash. There isn't a single negative that comes to mind when it comes to the studio and the amazing staff. Couple this with the welcoming enviroment and you have the perfect studio for any yogi looking for a place to practice.

Elizabeth Smith: CorePower Yoga in falls church had amazing facilities. There were clean bathrooms, showers, and lockers. The studios were spotless. The instructors were friendly and welcoming. All classes offered modifications for exercises and movements. Classes were definitely hotter than expected, so bring a towel.

Tom Eyer: Very nice studio and great space. I really like Anna J's flow, methodology, and teachings. I had thought that Corepower was a place for great workout but "traditional yoga" was lacking. Not in her class. Was really good yoga & workout and Ieft with a few mental nuggets to ponder

Brian Frost: I enjoy my time on the matt at CorePower Yoga. The yoga instructors at Falls Church are very positive people who help you deepen your practice. The studio is often not filled to capacity like other smaller studios. This CorePower Yoga studio is centrally located between Tyson’s Corner and Arlington, offers free parking nearby, and large studios. My favorite classes are the Yoga Sculpt and C2 classes. They help me de-stress while gaining strength.

Dupont Circle Yoga: what do users think?

HG G: Very weird experience at this studio. Apron arriving and knocking, the instructor opened the door and stared at me without blinking, Greeting and introducing or letting me in. He just stood at the doorway staring until I broke the silence and introduced myself like, “so Um, should I pop in?” His vibe was down hill from there, a lot of small things that triggered my gut feeling… I was hesitant to review but I’m going to. Then when I left my favorite yoga studio and called within minutes and then 2 times the next day with a voice mail, nobody answered. It’s a beautiful studio though.
Response: Hi HG G - I am sorry to hear about your experience - it sounds very unusual given our years in the neighborhood and city and countless students. Please write me if you feel comfortable, or call / message 202.552.0556 we'd really like to address whatever went wrong, you can also reach me at eli@georgetownyoga.com if that is more comfortable. We hope to hear from you 🙏

Erin Shea: Positive: Professionalism, QualityI miss heading to classes at DCY. The space is simple but serene. Teachers are skilled, helpful and most importantly, respectful. Having had a few bad experiences with what seem to be ego-driven yoga teachers/studios, a space like Dupont is not to be missed!
Response: Thank you for the love!

Ruizhi LIU: This yoga studio is located in a very cute neighborhood. I was visiting DC and took a deep flow class with Peter. I was deeply impressed by his teaching and really appreciate how he helped push my body just a little bit further to reach positions I wasn’t able to before. If you live in the area, or are just visiting (like me), I highly recommend you checking this place out. Plus, they have very attractive rate for first timers. There’s changing room and yoga mats you can use. So you don’t have to bring anything. P.S. their sister studio Georgetown Yoga, which I checked out during my last visit to DC was also very nice.
Response: So kind, thank you for writing!

Jemiah Williams: I really don’t like the fact that I was locked out of the class for being 10 min late. People have busy lives and cannot always be on time. This was extremely inconsiderate and a waste of my time and money.
Response: Hi Jemiah, apologies, our grace period is 5 minutes and we find this the best balance and most respectful for those who have already started their meditation and practice. We will always provide a class credit if you miss class or can't get in once it has started. Thank you!

DC Techie: Relaxing, clean yoga studio. The instructor, Nathan, was very knowledgeable about both the poses and provided modifications were beginners. Unlike some studios, preference was not given to the more advanced students. Teacher: Nathan's modifications took the poses to another level and he spread out the modifications among the students in the class. Temperature: The class had good air-conditioning which was necessary given the sweltering DC heat They offer quite a few new student offers, including the first month for $48 (what a steal!)

Demian Sanchez: My favorite yoga center in the Dupont area. The space is cozy, clean and comfortable and I like their vinyasa classes. The prices are also quite competitive, the best bang for your buck in the area

Roz R.: Beautiful space with great teachers. Love coming to this yoga studio and their sister studio, Georgetown Yoga. Also love their student discounts!

Stefanie G: Did $10 first timer class w Moriah and she slayed. This place has good vibes, mats to borrow, and a flow sequence that has me feeling so good. Get to it.

lindsay love: Gorgeous, calm space draws you away from the bustle of the city. Excellent instruction with a personal touch and attention to detail. Highly recommend

Ashley Morgan: Love this studio, great classes and one of the most scenic locations in DC.
Response: Aww thanks for the love 💙

CorePower Yoga: what do users think?

C Leo: I joined the studio because of the number and variety of classes offered at multiple locations. The rooms have mirrors and temperatures are warm to hot. The teachers are very encouraging and friendly. I have so many favorites! Ann at Merrifield, Jennifer Kuzmuk at Clarendon. I get an amazing workout at the different classes they offer. Changing rooms are clean. They also have live and on demand classes. Highly recommend! I get an amazing workout at the different classes they offer. Changing rooms are clean. They also have live and on demand classes. Highly recommend!

Annemarie Vandenberg: Positive: QualityIt’s always a great experience! The yoga teachers are always welcoming and supportive! The classes themselves are fantastic, perfect mix of exercise/stretching and great playlists!

Amanda Marie Halagao-Davis: Positive: QualityEnjoyed Hot Fusion class. First time back in years and excited to get back into it! Melissa did a great job and I'll surely sign up for another!

Jennifer Halpin: Positive: QualityThe instructors are great and encourage you to get out of your comfort zone, but not in an offensive or invasive way. I just took Yoga Sculpt for the first time and I am hooked! I've traditional vinyasa yoga for several years. YS is an awesome combination of yoga and strength training. Melissa Hu is the best!

Hannah: I’ve been coming to classes here for about 2 months, and have had nothing but great experiences each time. All of the teachers are amazing! It’s always a clean & welcoming.

Sam Needham: Very welcoming and friendly staff. I really enjoy the early morning classes, especially the heated C2 class. I'll definitely keep going back.

Will Warwick: Excellent classes! I took a Hot Fusion class for my first yoga class in a lloooonnnnggg time and I absolutely loved it. So a few days later I took another Hot Fusion class with a different instructor - again, amazing. Finally, I took a sculpt class, thinking "how hard a workout can this be?" and was blown away by how great I felt afterwards. So many great classes, great instructors, in a really clean, sleek, and modern environment. Highly recommend!

Peter Bixby: I've been attending classes at CorePower Arlington for 10 months now and couldn't be happier with my experience there. The teachers are phenomenal and know how to make every class different than the last. The class options and times are always very convenient. I'm able to take almost every different type of class from morning until night. No matter my schedule I'm able to fit in a class. Give it a try and thank me later!

Jill Kaleta: I love the traditional yoga practices and Yoga Sculpt which is a mix of yoga and strengthening which is such a nice balance and mix of strength and yoga! The instructors are great and the studio is definitely a community where so many ppl know each other. So happy to come to the studio!

Samantha Platt: I liked a number of the classes (C2 and Yoga Sculpt) but I really dont like that you dont sign up for the classes ahead of time, especially around new years. I cancelled my membership after showing up twice to completely full classes, the next class wasnt offered for an hour after that. The locker room is also very small and a bunch of the lockers dont work. I mentioned it to the front desk a few times and they just said oh yea we know, also no paper towels to wipe down your mat afterwards which was a bit absurd to me considering we pay $159 per month. I love the concept and some of the instructors are really great, but its just not worth all of the money you are paying.

Power Nectar Yoga: what do users think?

Hillary Dolinsky: My husband and I came here for a 90 minute power vinyasa hot yoga class on New Years Day. We had a great time! The front desk studio manager was very friendly, personable, and gave us a quick overview of the studio. The style of the class was exactly what I was looking for - challenging, HOT, but focused on internal/spiritual growth and community. We had a chance to introduce ourselves to our mat neighbors and there was a coffee social after. Very welcoming environment, beautiful space, convenient location. We'll be back!

Jessie Strickland: I LOVE power nectar! The instructors are very welcoming and helpful. They always include a good amount of mindfulness throughout the class, as well as a nice long rest at the end with cool lavender towels. I found the temperature comfortably warm, but not overwhelmingly hot. The studio is very nice as well, with parking available behind the building or on the streets.

Chelsea Kay: I have really enjoyed my classes here. The studio is clean and new and the instructors are great. My only complaint is that they could add a heater or two. It just doesn't seem hot enough. Also, adding curtains over the doors between the lobby and studio would be a nice addition. This would keep a lot of light out during shavasana and might help in keeping in heat.

Liz Speck: This is a really nice, clean studio and a great place to do yoga. They have limited class numbers due to COVID but provide you with your own mat cleaner, hand sanitizer and hand towel. Yolanda, my instructor was knowledgeable and friendly and the class was challenging and moved at a good pace. I will definitely return!

Chau Tran: I’ve been searching for a heated yoga studio to practice during COVID where I would feel safe and get an amazing practice in. Thank you for my first power flow in almost 6 months. I felt safe, in my space, and mentally at peace during and after my practice. Mat spray and hand sanitizer at every mat station. Clean studio. Sadly only 2 classes offered every day but times are rough right now. Hopefully with more support they will be able offer more classes.

Andrea Turnbough: Buyer Beware!! When I first found Power Nectar, I was so excited. Warm classes, excellent teachers, reasonable hours and close to my place. I paid for the unlimited membership and used them when they went virtual during the pandemic. August 2020 was when I finally asked to put my membership on hold. As time went on, Power Nectar did open up for in-studio practice. I was not comfortable with in-studio anything so I kept my membership on hold. Fast forward to last week, Thursday actually, when Power Nectar sent a message stating they will be unfreezing memberships and increasing their membership prices and that we would be charged on Monday. I immediately called and emailed stating I would like cancel my membership since we are still in a pandemic and I will not be attending anything until I am vaccinated. Two emails, two voicemails, two social media messages went unanswered until AFTER I was charged. My loyalty was rewarded with a questionable business decision that in my opinion is on par with stealing. I was finally contacted by the studio and told that my membership has been cancelled but they will not refund me for a membership I cannot use currently. This studio asks it's members for 30-days notice when cancelling; should I have expected the same timeframe for when they would unfreeze memberships? I was given four days notice I would be charged for something I did not want - and my attempts to contact the studio when unanswered until AFTER they charged me.
Response: Hi Andrea, so sorry to read your review. Our manager at the time was incredibly reasonable and communicative. Great service was a huge strength of hers (and is one of ours as a whole!), in fact. We care deeply about our patrons and go above and beyond, whenever feaible and possible. Yes, of course we do have policies and yes, we do flex for our folks when necessary and appropriate. And we do really and truly hope you found a studio that is better fit for you now! Respectfully, Nectar Yoga

Latisha Mac: I am just getting back into yoga, so I am not the best when it comes to posture and balance. I must say the instructor was very nice and definitely encouraging.. The studio is very welcoming. This was my first class, I will definitely make this a reoccurring experience. Thank you and look forward to my next class.

Marybeth Krajcik: Power Nectar is a very welcoming, non-intimidating, unpretentious yoga studio. I never thought I would get into yoga, but I have enjoyed their hot vinyasa flow and warm restorative classes so much! I appreciate that their studio has high ceilings- even though it’s hot, the air has room to move so it’s not stifling. Rejuvenating for the body, and mind.

Giovanna Spinella: It was our first time at Power Nector. The yoga studio was set up for a safe experience. The instructor was kind and pleasant and supportive. We have not practiced yoga for several years. And we are older now. Both my husband and I felt encouraged and that we found a way we can help our body and our mind.

Clint Farrell: Really nice, clean, hot yoga space. Not just a thermostat there are two heaters hanging from the ceiling providing a great warmth (doesn't feel humid in the space). Instructors have all been great.

CorePower Yoga: what do users think?

Leandra Slayton: Alex's class was wonderful and the gym is beautiful. The sculpt class was hard AF, but I never felt judged for taking breaks and the flow of the instructor was comfortable and well guided. Alex kept calling the class "Friday" when referring to us as a group, which I really enjoyed. We all have our own Buddha based on whichever day of the week you were born. I'm Friday, which comes with a unique set of characteristics and she reminded me of "Who I Am" LOVE!! Will be back soon!

divita mathur: The instructors are amazing! The place is clean and welcoming and peaceful. My only minor complaint would be that they don't keep wipes in the studio to clean yoga mats after class.

Kenneth Wharton: This is a great studio. I highly recommend it!

ibtissam Lhadi: Positive: Communication, Professionalism, Quality

Epic Yoga DC: what do users think?

Alyshah Aziz: If I had only 5 words to describe Epic Yoga DC, I'd say: magical, inclusive, passion, peaceful, and strong. Luckily, this isn't a tweet, so I have more room! If you're looking for a yoga studio, great, try out Epic Yoga. If you're looking for something more than a yoga studio, great, you should definitely check out Epic. They're a yoga studio and more - they're a community! The space | Can it get more stunning? Art on the walls. Exposed brick. Fireplaces as homes for yoga blocks and floor pillows. lots of real wood! skylights in nearly every room. This is as DC as it gets! The place has so much character. It's beautiful. The people | Epic has a great mix of teachers that introduce you to different yoga styles and practice. The studio owner, Emma, is WOC (women of color) - love to see it! And the co-studio manager, Amie, (hopefully that's the right title) has a background rich in science and yoga. All of the teachers are just as warm with interesting stories, experiences, and practices to share with others. Most of their teachers don't follow cookie cutter classes - Amie and Emma's are some of my favorite yoga classes that I have ever been to! I loved meeting both of them so much that I recently went through their Yoga Teacher Training program from 2021 - 2022. I am so glad that I chose Epic and that Epic chose me! They're a small business - and we know our small businesses have it tough right now more than ever. I've only ever written <10 reviews for places, but this was worth the time. I really love this place! It made me feel comfortable practicing yoga in this busy city. I love it!

Alyssa: Beautiful, locally owned studio space with a wide variety of classes and particularly solid classes/cues for advanced yogis, which I appreciated. I had tried out a few different studios when I moved to DC in 2019 and chose Epic Yoga. It was also a pleasure to teach here in-person (prior to Covid) and I’m grateful to Amie and Emma for providing me with that opportunity. Definitely check this studio out, either virtually or in-person!

Margaret Atkinson: I love this space—but, hands down, its biggest asset is Alex Hall. Her Soul Vibe Yoga Flow class was something I always looked forward to — I recently moved from D.C. and am so missing that practice. My workweek stress was no match! Not only is she the best teacher I’ve experienced in my 10+ years of yoga, but also an incredibly kind & thoughtful person — run, don’t walk to Alex’s class!

Nataliia Zubrytska: Favorite studio in the city, amazing space and teachers. Everyone has their own style where lies the beauty.

Catherine Carlstedt, MPH: Good classes, good teaches, tall ceilings give good vibes to classes. I like the focus on individual yoga teacher influence. Hot yoga isn't really hot but lukewarm. !!! It is very important to note!!! they require 10 DAYS NOTICE to MAKE ANY CHANGES to your account and then take about 5 DAYS TO RESPOND to email which is ONLY METHOD to CANCEL. So make sure if you don't want to be charged an extra $20 for changes to your membership, request CANCELLATION HALF WAY through a month, even if it is your trial month and you might not have been able to try out the studio. So really your trial month will most likely be $79. Hope this helps!

Rachel Custer: Coolest studio in the middle of Dupont neighborhood. The doorway is easy to miss and the stairwell up to the second floor studio feels sketchy but you get up there and it's a beautiful and peaceful space with several studios, fireplaces, exposed brick and big windows. Love starting my mornings here.

Lauryn D: I absolutely loved my experience here. I left feeling blissful, challenged and expanded - mentally and physically. The setting, the music, the instructor! The entire experience was fantastic. The name 'Epic' yoga is fitting and accurate af. Thank you!!

Brionne Griffin: What a fantastic place. After my first visit, I knew I'd found my new favorite studio. They offer an array of complimentary amenities (many of which you'd pay for at other studios) like mats, bath towels, face towels, hair products, etc. The instructors are very friendly and knowledgeable, and the space is huge and beautiful.

Joya Banerjee: This studio is about only one thing: making money. I was already less than impressed with the really negative environment in this studio- a ton of frowny-faced Beckies. What was really off putting was the fact that they spam you with emails with constantly changing deals and reminders to come back. The first time I went, they were running a special that gives you the first class free. You can’t but it online, only in person. I only found out after purchasing a class online. The woman at the desk said she’d apply it to my next class, but when I came back for another class, I was charged again for it. I then received an email about a deal for 40% off for 5 classes and purchased it. But it disappeared in their system and their website and app were making me purchase a class again. So I went to the studio early to sort it out, but the class was full. When I finally got to speak to someone about the issues, she said that my 5 class pass had already expired. I just bought it a couple weeks ago! She got super arrogant and entitled and said “those deals aren’t even offered by us, it’s an outside company.” I asked if she would consider extending the expiry date because I had to go overseas for work and had been away the past two weeks. She then tried to upsell me that if I spent another $90 five-class pass, she’d roll over my classes. I travel once a month overseas for work and don’t have the time or luxury to do 10 classes in a 30 day time frame. I asked if they could do a longer expiry date but she refused and tried to upsell me further on a $140 pass. I asked if she could apply the credit that receptionist promised to apply to my account, and she basically accused me of lying to get a free class. Least zen yoga experience ever... this studio is a hard pass for me and probably for anyone who isn’t a daily yoga practitioner with no outside life. I’m sticking with yoga district and hot yoga DC- much better vibes, the focus is on the yoga and not the money, and less claustrophobic/ brighter studios
Response: Here’s the situation from our perspective. Epic does not offer a free first time visit. Our introductory special is 2 weeks unlimited for $25. Thus, you wouldn’t be able to purchase this online as it does not exist. She purchased a 5 class pack at a 40% discount with a very clearly stated expiration date of 30 days. The expiration is short because of the discounted package (our typical 5 class pass expires after 3 months). As a courtesy to our customers, we will roll over unused classes with any new class purchase. The unused classes get the new purchases expiration date. She could have purchased a $21 drop in (this was offered) and had her classes reactivated. As a small business we rely on “making money” to stay open, but our values and focus is always on our community and the core tenants of yoga. Our studio owner is a person of color, referring to other people as “frowny faced Beckies” is judgmental and insulting to our diverse community.

Shivani K: Loved the yoga barre fusion class. Emma is a great teacher! After work hours classes are super packed. Far less people during lunch time and I preferred those. The classes in general were good.

Flow Yoga Center: what do users think?

Charlotte Hacker: I moved to DC a couple of months ago and Flow has been instrumental in making me feel like a part of the community. If you are looking for a friendly, communal, and welcoming space to practice yoga, this is it! Great variety of classes, wonderful teachers, and unbeatable perks with the unlimited monthly pass (which is incredibly well priced for DC).

Kathryn Strong: I absolutely adore this studio. I think it’s the best in the district. Top notch teachers, conveniently scheduled classes, great customer service, beautiful spaces, competitive pricing. I know yoga is a business, but this studio feels like somewhere I can just be.

Zoe Kaiser: This studio is clean, prices competitive, and teachers offer excellent instruction. They also are great partners in the community. This location is more modern style and has one studio, in comparison with their P Street location which has three practice rooms and a slightly more boho style. HIGHLY recommend going to this studio and taking a class.
Response: thank you so much - you've made our day!!!!

alex clark: Awesome new student class package that you can’t beat. I did my first vinyasa class there this past Saturday and it was a fun flow that was different than I normally do

Circle Yoga Cooperative: what do users think?

Volunteer Fhnn: This has been my yoga studio since 2010 and I'm so grateful for it. The studio's attentiveness to our well being and safety is among its many attributes. Instructors are extremely skillful for all levels of students. Being a co-op is added bonus! CY has managed through this pandemic offering Zoom classes that kept us all going. There is simply no other yoga studio in the DC metro area to compare to its variety of classes, skill level and management. Anyone interested in beginning/returning to yoga or expanding their yoga practice, this is the place for you.
Response: We're so glad that you've been part of the Circle Yoga community for more than 10 years!! Thank you for sticking with us through the pandemic. We would not have made it through without committed students like you.

Danielle Lewis: Circle Yoga is a terrific place to practice yoga - safe, welcoming, and inclusive. I took in-person classes for many years before the pandemic and appreciated their experienced teachers, lovely studio, and willingness to learn and evolve over time. It absolutely isn't a "scene" the way some DC studios can be. They have worked so hard to pivot and pivot again during the pandemic, and are now offering both excellent online and in-person classes (with safety front of mind).
Response: Thank you, thank you, Danielle! We really appreciate your support and your kind review. Loyal students like you have been so important to getting us through the craziness of the last couple of years. Phew!

Leah Hudson: Circle Yoga is an incredible studio. The staff is very warm and welcoming, and the studio is open and clean. I was drawn to the studio because they were one of the few in the DC area that offered in-person prenatal yoga classes. I felt safe with vaccine and mask requirements in place. The instructor, Jen, is amazing and offers modifications to help each individual.
Response: Leah, I'm so glad you're enjoying your Prenatal and Postnatal Yoga classes at Circle Yoga! Yes, in-person prenatal classes are hard to find in DC right now. We're so happy to have you and other prenatal and postnatal students in the building again. :)

Mira Courpas: Circle Yoga isn't only a yoga studio. It is a community of caring, involved individuals. The teachers and students are invested in each other and the world around them. It has been a lifeline for me throughout the pandemic, as they navigated the safety protocols and made decisions to keep the studio running and the community safe. I am back in person and it feels great to be there live with my wonderful teachers and classmates! Mira
Response: It's so wonderful to have you and other students back in person at the studio, Mira. YOU helped keep us going through the pandemic—it was a two-way street! Thanks for making Circle Yoga your yoga home in Washington, DC.

Elizabeth Kingery: I've been going to Circle Yoga since 2012 and am still impressed by the quality of the teachers, the wide variety of classes to choose from and the overall experience of the studio. The teachers are knowledgeable, careful to prevent injury and the staff is friendly and responsive. During the pandemic their pivot to zoom classes was a lifesaver. I cannot recommend them highly enough.
Response: Many thanks for your kind review, Betsy. We're so glad to have you as one of our long-time students, and I hope that Circle Yoga will continue to be your yoga home for many years to come!

Emily Austin: I went to my first in-person yoga class today in 3.5 years at Circle Yoga. I was a little nervous because it had been so long and my body is very different than the last time I practiced (I've had 2 babies since then + the pandemic happened!) Also, I realized on my way there that I had forgotten to bring a mask. From the moment I walked in, everyone at Circle Yoga made me feel confident and welcome. The person at the front desk quickly checked me in and gave me a disposable mask. The class itself was 75 minutes. At first I thought it was a little slow (lots of stretching), but it heated up and I was sweating by the end. I feel so lucky to have Circle Yoga in my neighborhood & definitely recommend it to anyone who wants to practice in a respectful and positive place.
Response: I'm so glad your re-entry to yoga felt good, Emily. Welcome back! We're very happy to have you at Circle Yoga.

Jessica Ewers: We absolutely love Circle Yoga and have been taking classes for years! My almost 12 year old daughter has always been treated with kindness, compassion and love. The summer camp is the best! They incorporate art, movement, and positive self-awareness. I highly recommend this beautiful establishment.
Response: We are so glad that you and your daughter have been with us for so many years! We're looking forward to another great summer of Circle Yoga Summer Camp, and happy that J**** will be there again. :)

Sheri Denkensohn: I began going to Circle Yoga remotely during the pandemic. I live in Virginia and would never be able to have access to the studio. It is fantastic! I specifically enjoy yoga Nidra and gentle yoga. The instructors are top-notch and class feels like a community. I would not go anywhere else! It is well worth the money.
Response: Thank you, Sheri! We're so happy that the virtual options make it possible for you to join us for Circle Yoga classes—and without the commute from Virginia to DC. Thanks for being part of the CYC community!

Joan Alker: I love, love, love Circle Yoga and have been going there for years. The teachers are absolutely top notch and the studio is incredibly welcoming for people of all levels of experience. There are virtual and in person options. I have done yoga all over the country and this studio is very special.
Response: Joan, thank you for the wonderful review! You and your family are a very important of the CYC community. We're so happy that you've made Circle Yoga your yoga home in Washington, DC.

Kristina Carson: Circle Yoga is such a special place for me and my family. I started taking their prenatal classes with my first and continued growing with their class offerings from there. So lucky to have a such a bright and happy studio close to home!
Response: We are lucky to be connected to you, too, Kristina! Thanks for making Circle Yoga your yoga home in the neighborhood.
