justin hampton

Kaili Mang Jeyarajah
Kaili Mang Jeyarajah: Positive: Communication, Professionalism, QualityThis is a yoga studio that offers teachers plenty of creative freedom and support, so you have access to a broad range of yoga styles and many classes at different times of day. They have stayed faithfully online during the entire pandemic! We are looking forward to them carefully opening in person as well, very soon.
Susan Cooper
Susan Cooper: Positive: Communication, QualityLove, love, love this studio. I have been practicing here for 16 years. The variety of classes offered for all levels, the quality of the teachers, some who have been there as long as I have, and the low key welcoming vibe make this a perfect yoga studio. Highly recommend.
Emma Mehrabi
Emma Mehrabi: Positive: Communication, Professionalism, QualityI’ve been going to WYC for several years now and absolutely love them. They transitioned flawlessly into pandemic yoga teaching online, and I’m so happy that my favorite instructor, Audrey Roxas, is still teaching for them. Can’t say enough great things!

Bhakti Yoga DC: what do users think?
Erin Doolin
Erin Doolin: I went to the studio for the first time and it was a great experience! The yoga class was very good and the instructor did a great job with assists and helping me improve different stances and poses.
Ka'ila
Ka'ila: Gopi is an amazing instructor. She embodies the true practice of yoga, and brings to her students a way to implement yoga not only through the asana practice, but in our daily lives.
Ezra Jay Kottler
Ezra Jay Kottler: Positive: QualityBhakti Yoga is such a great studio! Beautiful and calming ambiance, caring and knowledgeable instructors who are experts in the holistic practices of yoga - not just the physical asanas but also the mental and spiritual components.
Shelley Cazares
Shelley Cazares: Positive: Communication, Professionalism, QualityBhakti’s livestream classes are always fantastic, especially when I’m traveling away from DC! The video and audio are strong and clear, and it’s easy to connect. Thanks!
Ingrid Duran
Ingrid Duran: It is one of the best yoga studios in the area with really great teachers who are connected to the spirit. Bhakti feels like home. I have been coming to this studio for two years and I absolutely get so much out of the yoga classes, the philosophical discussions at satsang, womens circle, yoga lunch, and a history of so many different workshops that Bhakti offers. I highly recommend this studio and all of the teachers there.

Lighthouse Yoga Center: what do users think?
Jennifer Holshue
Jennifer Holshue: I love Lighthouse. The teachers, the variety of classes, a ton of interesting workshops, the unpretentious vibe, and community-focused ethos have been a welcome presence in the neighborhood since coming to their Kennedy Street location. I try to practice with them at least a couple of times a week, and with online and in-person classes available, it’s convenient and fun. Everyone, teachers and students alike, have all always been kind and welcoming. The studio itself is always clean and obviously well cared for. Highly recommended!!
Kelsi Van Veen
Kelsi Van Veen: Amazing community, tons of great classes and workshops, wonderful people. Just recently started taking classes here and I wish I wasn’t so busy because they have so many fun workshops to try! The classes I have taken have all been fantastic. It’s quite clear the studio has attracted a community of diverse, wonderful, and welcoming human beings. Pics are from an outdoor class with Jazmin a few weeks back. She was fantastic and connected with and recognized the needs of each one of her students. As someone that has only dabbled in yoga, I was glad to find a place that is unpretentious but that has extremely knowledgeable teachers to learn from!
Response: Thank you Kelsi! We really appreciate your support!!!
Kelsi Van Veen
Kelsi Van Veen: Lighthouse Yoga Center has been a wonderful find since moving to Petworth. Such a diverse community of people and they are so welcoming! I really enjoy being able to try many different types of yoga classes, and there seem to be a ton of great events on the schedule every month. Having the flexibility to take online classes from home as well has been great for my busy schedule. Highly recommend.
B C
B C: Great Kundalini Yoga studio. Very authentic, with great teachers , feels very neighborhoody and reasonable. I just started and although a bit far for me, I look forward to coming . Just like other reviews stated , easy to register on line, friendly and true sense of sharing the art of yoga with community. Highly recommend!

Epic Yoga DC: what do users think?
Alyssa
Alyssa: Beautiful, locally owned studio space with a wide variety of classes and particularly solid classes/cues for advanced yogis, which I appreciated. I had tried out a few different studios when I moved to DC in 2019 and chose Epic Yoga. It was also a pleasure to teach here in-person (prior to Covid) and I’m grateful to Amie and Emma for providing me with that opportunity. Definitely check this studio out, either virtually or in-person!
Margaret Atkinson
Margaret Atkinson: I love this space—but, hands down, its biggest asset is Alex Hall. Her Soul Vibe Yoga Flow class was something I always looked forward to — I recently moved from D.C. and am so missing that practice. My workweek stress was no match! Not only is she the best teacher I’ve experienced in my 10+ years of yoga, but also an incredibly kind & thoughtful person — run, don’t walk to Alex’s class!
Nataliia Zubrytska
Nataliia Zubrytska: Favorite studio in the city, amazing space and teachers. Everyone has their own style where lies the beauty.
Joya Banerjee
Joya Banerjee: This studio is about only one thing: making money. I was already less than impressed with the really negative environment in this studio- a ton of frowny-faced Beckies. What was really off putting was the fact that they spam you with emails with constantly changing deals and reminders to come back. The first time I went, they were running a special that gives you the first class free. You can’t but it online, only in person. I only found out after purchasing a class online. The woman at the desk said she’d apply it to my next class, but when I came back for another class, I was charged again for it. I then received an email about a deal for 40% off for 5 classes and purchased it. But it disappeared in their system and their website and app were making me purchase a class again. So I went to the studio early to sort it out, but the class was full. When I finally got to speak to someone about the issues, she said that my 5 class pass had already expired. I just bought it a couple weeks ago! She got super arrogant and entitled and said “those deals aren’t even offered by us, it’s an outside company.” I asked if she would consider extending the expiry date because I had to go overseas for work and had been away the past two weeks. She then tried to upsell me that if I spent another $90 five-class pass, she’d roll over my classes. I travel once a month overseas for work and don’t have the time or luxury to do 10 classes in a 30 day time frame. I asked if they could do a longer expiry date but she refused and tried to upsell me further on a $140 pass. I asked if she could apply the credit that receptionist promised to apply to my account, and she basically accused me of lying to get a free class. Least zen yoga experience ever... this studio is a hard pass for me and probably for anyone who isn’t a daily yoga practitioner with no outside life. I’m sticking with yoga district and hot yoga DC- much better vibes, the focus is on the yoga and not the money, and less claustrophobic/ brighter studios
Response: Here’s the situation from our perspective. Epic does not offer a free first time visit. Our introductory special is 2 weeks unlimited for $25. Thus, you wouldn’t be able to purchase this online as it does not exist. She purchased a 5 class pack at a 40% discount with a very clearly stated expiration date of 30 days. The expiration is short because of the discounted package (our typical 5 class pass expires after 3 months). As a courtesy to our customers, we will roll over unused classes with any new class purchase. The unused classes get the new purchases expiration date. She could have purchased a $21 drop in (this was offered) and had her classes reactivated. As a small business we rely on “making money” to stay open, but our values and focus is always on our community and the core tenants of yoga. Our studio owner is a person of color, referring to other people as “frowny faced Beckies” is judgmental and insulting to our diverse community.
Shivani K
Shivani K: Loved the yoga barre fusion class. Emma is a great teacher! After work hours classes are super packed. Far less people during lunch time and I preferred those. The classes in general were good.

Bluebird Sky Yoga: what do users think?
Rebecca Wolf
Rebecca Wolf: I’ve been coming to Bluebird Sky Yoga for a few weeks now and it is becoming one of the best parts of my week! I’m coming back to a yoga practice after 10 years and I’m so thankful for this bright, kind and welcoming studio serving the Edgewood/Brookland community. Prices are fair, instructors are wonderful, vaccine-mandatory policy keeps people safe, and the space is beautiful. The main studio is warm, bright and relaxing. Try their new member deal!
Kristen Gardner
Kristen Gardner: This a very nice studio with a good vibe. The class offerings are fantastic and the teachers are attentive and professional. The space is open and airy and situated in a quiet residential neighborhood. I have been to many studios in DC, and I feel as if this is my permanent yoga home!
Paige Lieberman
Paige Lieberman: So great to have this place in the neighborhood! I’ve been looking for a new studio for awhile, and from my first class here, I was sold. It’s a chill place that makes you feel calm as soon as you walk in. The teachers lead very approachable classes, while still offering challenging asanas and pranayama techniques. Having taken a teacher training myself, it’s clear that the teachers are well educated. It’s exciting to find classes in DC with these advanced themes woven into the classes.
Amber W
Amber W: Very kind and accommodating owner! Background: I had to change my contract start date because I was going to be overseas for a large portion of the month. The staff forwarded my request to the owner, who emailed me and was perfectly fine with changing the contract start date so that I could take full advantage of the membership that month. As a new client, this shows me that this studio cares about their patrons. I am sure I will continue to practice here! Highly recommend.
Natalia Alvarez Diaz
Natalia Alvarez Diaz: One of my absolute favorite studios in DC! The space is gorgeous and the staff and teachers are courteous and knowledgeable. Love the murals outside and the lovely reading nook for some pre or post-class tea.

CorePower Yoga: what do users think?
Rose D
Rose D: Tyler is a great instructor. She should teach more classes. Unfortunately many get canceled. Lindsey and Tyler are also good but less intense. The studio is generally clean and the classes are comfortable in terms of spacing. Weekend classes are very packed but not as bad as the georgetown location, which is entirely unacceptable. The locker area is not particularly clean there and the overcrowding of classes is poorly managed (signing up for class won’t guarantee you a spot, nor will you want it once you walk in and see how jam packed it is). Dupont and city center are definitely better locations
Stefan Smith
Stefan Smith: I travel to DC regularly for business, and usually visit the CityCenter studio when I am in town. I decided to try Dupont Circle last Saturday because there was a great class time that really fit with my schedule (there seem to be a lot less C2 classes compared with YS). I really enjoyed my experience! The studio was easy to find and was conveniently located. I was warmly welcomed, and everything was clean and in great condition. I took C2 with Kia at 9:30. I was blown away to learn that this was her first class as a teacher! Kia was confident, poised, and easy to follow, and she definitely came across as caring and knowledgeable. I really enjoyed her flow; it was challenging, creative, and really allowed us to use and explore our space. As always, the class as a whole had a great positive energy; I have been using CP on Demand for the past year, and it has been great getting back into the studio with other people! I will definitely return to the Dupont Circle studio when I am back in DC!
Reggie Johnson
Reggie Johnson: Took Kell’e class last week and it was amazing. She’s very knowledgeable and has amazing energy . I will be back again to take her class. I’m no yoga pro at all but she helped me with the tough position and I really appreciated that.
e j
e j: Great studio. I’ve really enjoyed their classes and instructors. Giving 3 stars because they’ve recently updated their schedule to no longer offer the basic class at this location except for the weekends. That doesn’t work for me. Will now have to cancel my membership.
Jackie Moruzzi
Jackie Moruzzi: My instructor was so friendly and encouraging--her 8am sculpt was packed and it was a great workout
Maria Webb
Maria Webb: The instructors are friendly and welcoming, most importantly, they make sure you get the most of your practice.
Zae

Dupont Circle Yoga: what do users think?
HG G
HG G: Very weird experience at this studio. Apron arriving and knocking, the instructor opened the door and stared at me without blinking, Greeting and introducing or letting me in. He just stood at the doorway staring until I broke the silence and introduced myself like, “so Um, should I pop in?” His vibe was down hill from there, a lot of small things that triggered my gut feeling… I was hesitant to review but I’m going to. Then when I left my favorite yoga studio and called within minutes and then 2 times the next day with a voice mail, nobody answered. It’s a beautiful studio though.
Response: Hi HG G - I am sorry to hear about your experience - it sounds very unusual given our years in the neighborhood and city and countless students. Please write me if you feel comfortable, or call / message 202.552.0556 we'd really like to address whatever went wrong, you can also reach me at eli@georgetownyoga.com if that is more comfortable. We hope to hear from you 🙏
Erin Shea
Erin Shea: Positive: Professionalism, QualityI miss heading to classes at DCY. The space is simple but serene. Teachers are skilled, helpful and most importantly, respectful. Having had a few bad experiences with what seem to be ego-driven yoga teachers/studios, a space like Dupont is not to be missed!
Response: Thank you for the love!
Ruizhi LIU
Ruizhi LIU: This yoga studio is located in a very cute neighborhood. I was visiting DC and took a deep flow class with Peter. I was deeply impressed by his teaching and really appreciate how he helped push my body just a little bit further to reach positions I wasn’t able to before. If you live in the area, or are just visiting (like me), I highly recommend you checking this place out. Plus, they have very attractive rate for first timers. There’s changing room and yoga mats you can use. So you don’t have to bring anything. P.S. their sister studio Georgetown Yoga, which I checked out during my last visit to DC was also very nice.
Response: So kind, thank you for writing!
Jemiah Williams
Jemiah Williams: I really don’t like the fact that I was locked out of the class for being 10 min late. People have busy lives and cannot always be on time. This was extremely inconsiderate and a waste of my time and money.
Response: Hi Jemiah, apologies, our grace period is 5 minutes and we find this the best balance and most respectful for those who have already started their meditation and practice. We will always provide a class credit if you miss class or can't get in once it has started. Thank you!
Demian Sanchez
Demian Sanchez: My favorite yoga center in the Dupont area. The space is cozy, clean and comfortable and I like their vinyasa classes. The prices are also quite competitive, the best bang for your buck in the area
Roz R.
Roz R.: Beautiful space with great teachers. Love coming to this yoga studio and their sister studio, Georgetown Yoga. Also love their student discounts!
Stefanie G
Stefanie G: Did $10 first timer class w Moriah and she slayed. This place has good vibes, mats to borrow, and a flow sequence that has me feeling so good. Get to it.
lindsay love
lindsay love: Gorgeous, calm space draws you away from the bustle of the city. Excellent instruction with a personal touch and attention to detail. Highly recommend
Ashley Morgan
Ashley Morgan: Love this studio, great classes and one of the most scenic locations in DC.

Hot Yoga Capitol Hill: what do users think?
FrannieP 87
FrannieP 87: I love this studio so much that I had to come back and write a second review! I have been attending classes here for a while now and I can really speak to the atmosphere of the studio, the quality and care of the instructors and the benefits of practicing hot yoga. HYCH’s studio is so comfortable, welcoming and inviting. It truly feels like my home away from home. The studio is cleaned daily and they offer showers that makes it convenient, especially on days when your schedule is packed. They have a new water filtration system for practitioners who bring their own bottles and other beverages that you can purchase. Sometime after a hot and juicy class there is fresh fruit waiting for you in the lobby ☺️. I have grown to love all of the instructors at the studio. They really get to know you in a way that is conducive to helping you grow in your practice. They are always very supportive, friendly, and encouraging. Each instructor is always helpful and given me clear instructions in order for me to take and benefit from postures. I really love all of the diverse teaching styles. Yoga at this studio has really transformed me mentally, spiritually and physically!
Meisha Mcleod
Meisha Mcleod: First time going. Signed up for hot 26 express. From the moment I came in the woman at the desk was rude and gave off such Negative energy. Talking over you, not offering any details to new customers. She even told a customer in front of me to “re-write her name on the waiver so that it’s legible” after slamming her credit card on the counter. She was extremely unwelcoming and short. I was super disappointed when I realized she was also the instructor for the class. Amber’s pacing was fast and she never hesitated to call people out for not doing a move to her standards and TELLING you when you could drink water. Any class that Amber is teaching I will be sure to stay away from. Also don’t choose this class if your a first timer, due to her pacing it will not be the easiest transition. HOWEVER Alba made all th difference! I was optimistic enough to try another class (bought a month pass) The Spa yoga was AMAZING! So relaxing, candles lit tranquil music, very zen. I will going back Just because of this experience with Alba.
Chanel Smith
Chanel Smith: New Year’s Eve was a great class as are all classes at H Street. Journaling intentions, meditating to the celestial sound of a live gong, 90 minutes in my yoga practice ending at 12am was an inspiring way to bring in the new year. The yoga instructor, staff and participants aided in a wonderful experience. I am grateful for being able to participate.
Valeria Giacomin
Valeria Giacomin: I have been at the studio for about a year before moving - I am quite addicted to the heated room and work out almost everyday (when I have time twice!), this to say that I have been to several studios and Hot Yoga Capitol Hill is just the BEST studio for variety of classes, quality of instructors, price/quality ratio, cleanliness of the space, sense of community. Lara, the owner, seemed to me a very kind woman who is not afraid to experiment with her business and to constantly improve it. Lara has assembled a dream-team, all teachers are superstars, I am not exaggerating... I recommend Rebecca, Alison, Jessie and David for hot yoga, Ari for vinyasa, La Shone for EVERYTHING!, Cincere for hot pilates. Last but not least, Mariam for HIIT Barre, this class is unique in the area and one of the best full-body workouts you can ever have in 60 mins, it incorporates props and work small muscles and core... Mariam has years of experience and it shows when you take her class. The studio is a big family, worth trying even if you are not a regular in the heated room.
Lynn Jester
Lynn Jester: My daughter and I thought that we were going to enjoy a hot yoga class together, but this class was horrible! I wasn’t sure if we paid them by the instructor’s (Allison) rude treatment of us her students. While the class states that it is designed for all levels, it does not cater to anyone who may have to take a break from the 105 degree room that smelled of odors not pleasant to the nose or pass out. Upon returning to the class, I attempted to at least practice some of my own slight moves only to be told to just lie still. The instructor did not even demonstrate the moves so I was following a student who must attend regularly. Then when we left early, again, she followed us and told us in a scolding voice what to do with the mats! We had a different idea in mind!! There are better hot yoga classes out there in DC!!

Yoga District: what do users think?
daniel nathan
daniel nathan: Yoga District is the perfect yoga studio. They have a wide variety of classes, and there is always something available that you would like. The instructors are incredibly clear, and sufficiently demanding. I have been taking classes from Fran at 14th St. for about 10 years, and she never fails to simulate. Her explanations are easy to follow, and she provides many options. And she’s just a great person.
eimear holton
eimear holton: Nice, clean, and welcoming studio. Yoga district has excellent teachers offering a wide range of classes all over the city! Plus quite inexpensive compared to most!
Stephanie Pratt
Stephanie Pratt: Love yoga district - very affordable compared to other studios in DC. In addition, they truly live the practice of yoga - practicing ahimsa, being kind to others, and building community. I took yoga teacher training here, and I am so happy I did. I have learned so much and have met so many wonderful people because of that experience. looking forward to spending more time with the yoga district family.
Natasha Hansen
Natasha Hansen: Andreas Friday evening class is a great way to unwind into the weekend. central location and lots of natural light in the studio!
Hannah Milward
Hannah Milward: WARNING - DO NOT GIVE THIS COMPANY YOUR CREDIT CARD DETAILS If you are signing up for their one month trial - PAY CASH. If you have already paid for a *one off* using credit card - check your statement immediately. They have been taking $97 each month from my credit card since June (from a card I hardly use except for parking) and therefore hardly check up on. I was only in Washington for one week... over $300 for 3 classes is essentially what I have payed for. I was utterly shocked to see how much had been taken without any contract, permission or authorization. And after looking at Yelp - it looks like this has happened to others. I was even more shocked that my emails have been viewed a number of times with NO apology, no response, no attempt to communicate whatsoever. Fraud committed by a company who, in theory, should be running in line with Yoga values. (Like not stealing and doing no harm) feels worse than fraud committed by some big corporate.
Response: Hi! Our membership terms are laid out in an online agreement that members e-sign. Although it is a pretty standard membership to most, just like at any yoga studio or gym, we apologize if this upset you or if you didn’t read the agreement you signed. We respond to account issues by email and we work hard to make things right - all of this supports our nonprofit mission to keep yoga accessible!
I McM
I McM: As a complete beginner this place has been super welcoming. Not absurdly expensive, chill, and a good guided class that understands that bodies have limits. Every teacher has a different vibe but they all have good skills!
Jaime Buzzeo
Jaime Buzzeo: I attended teacher training with Yoga District and loved every minute of it. I also love the variety of classes Yoga District offers. It is the most affordable yoga in the district.

Circle Yoga Cooperative: what do users think?
Leah Hudson
Leah Hudson: Circle Yoga is an incredible studio. The staff is very warm and welcoming, and the studio is open and clean. I was drawn to the studio because they were one of the few in the DC area that offered in-person prenatal yoga classes. I felt safe with vaccine and mask requirements in place. The instructor, Jen, is amazing and offers modifications to help each individual.
Response: Leah, I'm so glad you're enjoying your Prenatal and Postnatal Yoga classes at Circle Yoga! Yes, in-person prenatal classes are hard to find in DC right now. We're so happy to have you and other prenatal and postnatal students in the building again. :)
Jessica Ewers
Jessica Ewers: We absolutely love Circle Yoga and have been taking classes for years! My almost 12 year old daughter has always been treated with kindness, compassion and love. The summer camp is the best! They incorporate art, movement, and positive self-awareness. I highly recommend this beautiful establishment.
Response: We are so glad that you and your daughter have been with us for so many years! We're looking forward to another great summer of Circle Yoga Summer Camp, and happy that J**** will be there again. :)
Sheri Denkensohn
Sheri Denkensohn: I began going to Circle Yoga remotely during the pandemic. I live in Virginia and would never be able to have access to the studio. It is fantastic! I specifically enjoy yoga Nidra and gentle yoga. The instructors are top-notch and class feels like a community. I would not go anywhere else! It is well worth the money.
Response: Thank you, Sheri! We're so happy that the virtual options make it possible for you to join us for Circle Yoga classes—and without the commute from Virginia to DC. Thanks for being part of the CYC community!
Joan Alker
Joan Alker: I love, love, love Circle Yoga and have been going there for years. The teachers are absolutely top notch and the studio is incredibly welcoming for people of all levels of experience. There are virtual and in person options. I have done yoga all over the country and this studio is very special.
Response: Joan, thank you for the wonderful review! You and your family are a very important of the CYC community. We're so happy that you've made Circle Yoga your yoga home in Washington, DC.
Kristina Carson
Kristina Carson: Circle Yoga is such a special place for me and my family. I started taking their prenatal classes with my first and continued growing with their class offerings from there. So lucky to have a such a bright and happy studio close to home!
Response: We are lucky to be connected to you, too, Kristina! Thanks for making Circle Yoga your yoga home in the neighborhood.

CorePower Yoga: what do users think?
Rose D
Rose D: I’ve been to this location a few times and each time I find that the floors in the studios have a good amount of hair and a film of dirt. I also noticed that the showers are not cleaned between classes. I have noticed the drains were clogged with hair on a few occasions. The classes are good but it very much depends on the instructor. Also, it is worth noting that the classes are sometimes “at capacity” and they will turn people away who have signed up because there is zero space between mats/people in the studio. I think this is too much. They should manage this better. They shouldn’t let a bunch of people walk in and then turn away those who signed up. The classes also shouldn’t be so packed that people have to navigate around hitting each other, especially coming out of the pandemic. Each class is heated, which is kind of unbelievable given that it only decreases the quality and flow of air and thus increases your chances of catching whatever illnesses people may bring to the session. While you can wear a mask, it’s not ideal given how hot the room is and with everyone huffing and puffing nearly on top of one another it’s not much help. This studio really needs to manage overcrowding because it detracts from everyone’s experience and that is not fair given how expensive each session is. It’s certainly not a stress free zone.
Nutiatu Adetayo Adesokan
Nutiatu Adetayo Adesokan: Elizabeth is such an amazing person. My friends and I stopped by just to ask questions and she greeted us with open arms and we ended up discussing life and our yoga practice during the pandemic. She suggested doing the c1 class to get back in the grove of things. We laughed and had such a good time. You guys have such a great employee there!!
Anna B.
Anna B.: There are some good instructors at this location but the studio overpacks it’s classes. The weekend sculpt class taught by Olivia is uncomfortably packed and because it’s a heated studio it’s even more uncomfortable to breathe. People are mat to mat (not even inches apart) for that particular class. I’ve seen people who signed up turned away because they let too many walk ins join. It’s actually pretty gross in terms of vibe and not at all hygienic. People hardly have room to do the exercises, and they are often overly complicated for a mixed group of expertise. Ashley’s classes are packed too but there is usually at least some inches distance between mats. It would be helpful if this studio could advertise what the capacity for each class looks like so that people are not uncomfortable when they attend or , shockingly, turned away after signing up. General yoga 1-2 classes are not as packed but the instructors for those classes are just okay.. The dupont location and city center location do not seem to overpack their classes , but I suppose their management is handling class capacity better.
Gayla Mithzue Jimenez Martinez
Gayla Mithzue Jimenez Martinez: My first time ever trying yoga sculpt and it has been life-changing! I love the energy in all the classes and the feeling I get after every session. I recommend it 100%
Kristen Murray
Kristen Murray: Yoga sculpt is the BEST class. Great work out, slightly heated room. I received a discount on a ten class pack on Gilt city and the classes NEVER expire which is unheard of for workout packages in DC!
Susan Brown
Susan Brown: We had a blast! We do not live in the DC area but were in town visiting and enjoy finding fun workout stops in our family travels. My husband, 15 year old daughter and I took a terrific vinyasa flow session. We all highly recommend.
Jessica Glaspey
Jessica Glaspey: I enjoyed the intensity of workout and the blend of yoga and weights for Yoga Sculpt. Great studio set up, fantastic instructor! I will definitely be back for sure!
Nicole Lohr
Nicole Lohr: I like the convenience of this studio but it is very pricey. I tried it out because of a groupon but cant afford to continue with them. They have a clean studio and 99% of the instructors are friendly and helpful.

Haute Bodhi: what do users think?
Natalie Goodman
Natalie Goodman: The classes are okay. I loved Hannah’s classes. Maggie, the owner, is disorganized and irresponsible. I was charged for 4 months of membership after I left the city and it took me several months of painstaking follow up to finally receive a refund. The actual yoga here is fine but there are plenty of better studios in DC with more honest and ethical staff.
Chelsea M
Chelsea M: This studio has great vibes and Allison gave a wonderful class. Very clean facility and friendly practitioners. If you love hot yoga or are interested in it, I definitely recommend this studio. **If you are driving make sure to come a bit early to have enough time to find parking!
CM L
CM L: I’ve been coming to Haute Bodhi for almost five years now and it is an incredibly welcoming studio. Haute Bodhi has a great vibe with great instructors…I also love that it is a small, local business. I highly recommend!
Donald Hertzmark
Donald Hertzmark: Have been going to HB for about 3.5 years. Instructors are top notch and studio/community is great. Instructors offer excellent tips for all levels of practice.
Mary Slater
Mary Slater: Great studio and teacher , felt welcomed and safe in a new, difficult yoga experience. I plan to go back !
Juliette T
Juliette T: First time returning to bikram since COVID started…felt so welcomed. Nothing beats coming to class in person especially to Haute Bodhi. The community is the best!

CorePower Yoga: what do users think?
Mardi Muru
Mardi Muru: Always a great experience at this location. Most recently I tried their no heat yoga sculp. By the end you could have fooled me with the no-heat claim, I had worked up a sweat just fine!
traci kato-kiriyama
traci kato-kiriyama: Good, clean facility, really nice staff. Convenient location for convention center attendees. Hot Power Fusion class wasn’t too hot - temp gauge was up but heater is competing with the cold from outside hitting the wall of windows. Two single stall restrooms per dressing rooms designated “women” and “men”
Bita Motesharrei
Bita Motesharrei: I have been a founding member of Corepower since they first opened their first studio in GT. I have always had issues with the cleanliness of the studios. It all depended on the manager of the studio at the time since they do not have professional cleaners. Two days ago I took a class at the CityCenter location which is my favorite studio and it was so dirty and gross. Bathrooms were absolutely filthy with hair all over the floor and even inside the studio there was a thick layer of dust at the ledger and it completely grossed you out when you try to practice. I told the manager but she was dismissive. There is no way to contact the headquarters since they never respond to you. Plus, there are not as many classes scheduled anymore since they opened back up after the pandemic. I am very disappointed. I hate to write a poor review but I am hoping they pay attention because I used to love this place and I have continued my membership to help support them even though I have not been taking as many classes since after they opened post pandemic but I’m not sure if I want to keep my monthly membership going anymore
Stefan Smith
Stefan Smith: I travel to DC regularly for work and always practice at CityCenter when I’m in town. The location is perfect, and I’m always welcomed and made to feel like I’m a “regular”. The classes at CityCenter are always well attended and have an inspiring energy. The studio and other facilities are also always clean and well maintained. CorePower is a pretty physical and strenuous style of yoga. I don’t think I’ve ever sweat more than I do at CPY!!
Genie Concepcion
Genie Concepcion: The sound system was busted but the class led by Elizabeth Harris was still amazing! I like how there are designated spots per mat now. We’re no longer on top of each other during class.
Nicole Williams
Nicole Williams: In DC on a trip and was looking for a yoga facility close to my hotel. I was more than surprised by the facility as well as the class itself. Absolutely amazing. I attended the C2 class was a great workout and enjoyed the instructors style. Locker room, showers, and amenities are super clean. I definitely recommend CorePower Yoga.
Lindsay Hart
Lindsay Hart: I was in from out of town just for the day and found Core Power Yoga on a whim. I LOVE that they had a middle-of-the-day class (12pm). The teacher was amazing, perfect heat and flow. Really enjoyed the class and studio and will definitely be back!

CorePower Yoga: what do users think?
Andy Tables
Andy Tables: I love (heated) CorePower but the heat at this location (the only location accessible to me given my location and work schedule) has been broken for several weeks. At first they noted that the classes were UNHEATED on the schedule but then they stopped being so diligent. I showed up for a class that was not heated and it was cold & muggy in the room. Really unpleasant experience. Then they got these rented(?) portable heaters that raise the temperature to somewhere in the 70s but add so much humidity that you can’t see anything in the mirror after the first 10-15min of class (essential!) and the floor is so slippery at the end of class that it could cause a serious injury to someone exiting. Instructors joke about it. It’s again very muggy and unpleasant, like sitting in someone else’s sweat I understand that things happen and maintenance always comes up, but they aren’t marking the classes as UNHEATED when they should because the portable heaters just don’t work. I’m disappointed and feel like I wasted my membership money. It’s misleading and I won’t return until the classes are actually heated (but I won’t know when that is because they don’t communicate honestly)
Rory Merrill
Rory Merrill: CorePower has me hooked! I came for the first time in August and had the best experience. The studio is always so clean and the instructors are very friendly. They will help you with your yoga practice wherever you are. I would definitely recommend this studio!!
Cigdem Jorgensen
Cigdem Jorgensen: I love this studio and I love that they have side mirrors as well! It’s super clean and organized. Everyone’s very friendly too. I tried a free week this summer and since then I’m in love with Sculpt! I go to the studio every other day and every time is so exciting. The app is super friendly and easy to track my practices too. The only problem is that the Black Tag Membership is WAY TOO expensive!!! There should be a package for 6 months or 1 year with cheaper prices otherwise it’s not affordable for many people unfortunately.
Billy Franch
Billy Franch: The best part about CorePower Yoga Glover Park is the instructors. They are all amazing! The studio space is great for yoga, too- the lighting, heating, humidity, and music are on point.
Ali Hendi, MD
Ali Hendi, MD: The studio is clean and has friendly staff. The new manager is receptive and engaged. Classes push you to do more without judgement. Great overall experience.
Margaret Fisher
Margaret Fisher: Fabulous community that embraces all yogis -- from first-timer to well-experienced. I look forward to the warm welcome I receive when attending classes there. Top-notch experience all around and SO beneficial!
Nicole Olshan
Nicole Olshan: I love everything about CPY and their Glover Park studio certainly does NOT disappoint! Great classes, encouraging staff, and a positive aura are just a few of the reasons why I love it oh so much!

Yoga Heights Georgia Ave.: what do users think?
Mairi Breen Rothman
Mairi Breen Rothman: The teacher, Sadie Leigh, greeted each person warmly and personally. She moved with ease between the two rooms, she explained everything in a way that each person could adapt to their own abilities, she brought an underpinning of spirituality that was heartening but not directive, and she has a lovely voice. She also demonstrated with skill and precision while maintaining a monologue laced with excellent metaphors and a little levity. The space was warm, clean, equipped with lots of nice equipment (blocks, bolsters, blankets, mats) and good lighting. I will make Sunday morning yoga a priority from now on!
Response: Thank you!
Allan Regis
Allan Regis: this was my home studio for like four years before the pandemic… so many fond memories of this space! love the dark wood floors in the front studio, and the back studio is perfect for yin classes with the lights turned down low. looove this studio space.
Response: Thanks so much Allan! We're glad to be back in the beautiful spaces flowing again!
Camille Dykes
Camille Dykes: Yoga Heights made me love yoga! I took my first yoga class here years ago and fell in love. I am so lucky to have such a beautiful studio in my area. They provide a wide range of classes for for people of all abilities and skill level. I love the diversity of styles and teachers. No class is the same and they allow you to find a practice that works best for your body! There is a variety of packages that are affordable and they even have happy hour classes on the weekdays. I recommend taking advantage of the fact that you can use your membership at any of their studios to expand your practice and meet new yogis. I’m so happy that I found this place because it brings me so much joy and peace!
Response: Thanks!
Julia Purinton
Julia Purinton: Yoga Heights has a terrific range of teachers with individual teaching styles as well as an array of classes in various yoga traditions. There are multiple virtual class options every day, and the zoom format allows for both a sense of community and the privacy of an at home practice. The variety of classes keeps me coming to the mat, sometimes multiple times a day, for the strength-building of Barre and Power Flow and the stress relief of Yin. Although I sorely miss the in-person experience of the studio community, seeing familiar faces on the computer from wherever we are all quarantining is a real solace and support.
Response: Thank you for being a part of our community and for this lovely review!
Sofie Miller
Sofie Miller: The instructors are wonderful, there is such variety in the classes offered, and I can pick from multiple virtual classes that fit my schedule. The Yoga Heights membership is such a good deal (I use it all the time!) and would highly recommend this studio.
Response: Thanks Sofie!
Leslie Matthaei
Leslie Matthaei: I tried a few different studios in the area before discovering Yoga Heights. This studio meets you where you are at, is compassionate about the community and leaves you unintimidated about exploring your version of yoga. All of the teachers are excellent and there are classes for wherever you are in your journey. I feel lucky to have found a space and community that is welcoming, warm and committed to yoga.
Response: Thank you, Leslie. We feel lucky too!

There is a wide variety of classes, from sweaty power flows to relaxing yin - and everything in between. Their current COVID precautions (everyone must be vaccinated and masked) make me feel very comfortable practicing indoors, although I appreciate their outdoor offerings, too!
Response: Thanks Stephanie!
James Dickas
James Dickas: Went here for my first studio class since the pandemic started. It was great! It was challenging to get back into it, but the all levels class was a good speed. Tip: the staff is efficient, so they arrived 5 min prior to class start (7:45pm class). If you arrive early and it looks closed, they will be there soon.
Response: Thanks Jim!

532YOGA: what do users think?
Dustin Phillips
Dustin Phillips: What I love about Yoga 532 is the instructors do an amazing job of providing clear and simple instructions. They suggest modifications to each pose so that the classes always feel challenging for any skill level, while not overwhelming anyone who is still learning (like me). Even when the class is somewhat full, the instructors still offer personalized attention and help you get the most out of your stretches/poses. I have only been to classes by Suzanne, Maia, and Jon so far, but they have all been a pleasure to work with and I can’t wait to experience classes with some of the other instructors as well! Highly recommend!
Response: Thank you for taking the time to post a review, Dustin. We strive to make each class a great experience, so this is wonderful to hear!
Chloe Loving
Chloe Loving: This studio fosters community, self-care, growth and love in a time where all of that and more is needed! The teachers all deliver high quality instruction while coming from a variety of diverse backgrounds. Suzanne has done an impeccable job allowing even virtual students to feel present during class time. Her artistic taste and eclectic style keeps you coming back for more of that same energy. Great location, easy to walk to a local restaurant for an outdoor meal or consider wandering a few blocks to the river front for an evening in Old Towne.
Response: We have an OMazing community, and we are so pleased you are part of it! Thank you for your kind words.
Brittany Grant
Brittany Grant: I took the Sunday night candlelight flow with Aleasa and it was a fantastic first experience with the studio. Great atmosphere in a beautiful space and the instructor’s energy was phenomenal. I’ll definitely be returning when I’m back in town!
Response: That’s so great to hear Brittany - thank you for sharing!
Asiha Grigsby
Asiha Grigsby: Positive: Communication, Professionalism, Quality532 Yoga is a wonderful welcoming community of all walks and yoga experience. As soon as you cross the threshold you feel accepted into the space and encouraged to move through your practice exactly how your body leads you. I love this place. I am happy in the space. It is worth your time. Honor yourself by practicing here.
Response: Thank you Aisha. It is wonderful to hear that 532 is your ‘happy space’! We are honored to have helped build an amazing community.
Priscilla Totten
Priscilla Totten: Positive: Communication, Professionalism, Quality532Yoga is like my second home. Working at home and having no commute has freed me up to take more classes, so I try to be at alignment, ashtanga, yin and flow classes each week. The instructors are excellent; I value the fellowship within the studio and the depth that my yoga practice has gained.

melissa johnson
melissa johnson: Very chill yoga experience. Mats, blocks, water, all available. Exposed brick and lots of windows with second floor privacy (no one staring in). Andrea is awesome.
Arianna Vranas
Arianna Vranas: Love love love this studio! It’s one of the most affordable studios in DC while still having quality instructors and classes! All of the people I’ve met there have been very kind as well. The entrance is behind the pub on H street where there’s a little courtyard. Just open the door and go up the stairs. 🙂 If you can catch a class with Andrew here, I highly recommend it.
Andrew Glendening
Andrew Glendening: A small spot for yoga with knowledgeable instructors for a cheap price. As of this post the monthly unlimited fee is around $100. That includes yoga at the H Street location and all the others. Classes are available all day for different skill levels. Highly recommended.
