SakuSaku Flakerie: what do users think?

Kate S: My favorite place in DC for croissants—so flaky and yummy. They have so many innovative sweet and savory ones. The key lime cruffin is divine if you can get one. They seem to run out fast. I live a block away and have only been able to snag one once on my weekly visit. That is a croissant in the shape of a muffin with key lime inside and meringue on top. The almond croissant is also very good. I didn’t like the curry meat bun or cheesecake soufflé that much. Today I bought the strawberry tiramisu cruffin which was very good.

Roo G: Highly recommended! Contacted them via Instagram from the UK to arrange a birthday cake for my husband, as we were going to be staying locally. Reply was swift and they were friendly and helpful in giving me options and pricing, and were flexible when I asked to change something. The cake itself did not disappoint, an absolutely delicious chocolate raspberry layer cake. We also visited twice during our trip to indulge in their delicious pastries, and certainly plan to return on our next visit to DC. We sampled the chocolate almond croissant, lemon & blueberry cake and the banana caramel cruffin. Everything was fresh and delicious!

Audrey D: If you love flakey pastries, SakuSaku Flakerie will not disappoint. They offer light, sweet, and savory treats. The coffee was also great. I will definitely be coming back, since this is now my favorite place in DC to get pastries 🤤

Nguyen Le: Amazing hidden germs in the heart of Washington DC. The owner and their employees are super friendly and hospitality. You cannot go wrong with any croissant that they have available. It is super "flakerie" and crunchy, my personal favorite is Chocolate Almond Croissant pair with a Match Latte for a cold winter month or a Pistachio Croissant pair with SakaSaku Sparking Lemonade for a hot day in summer. Oh did i mentioned that they have the best Japanese Soufflé Cheesecake reminded me of the one i had in Japan. in Summary SakuSaku will make you want to return back. Thank you Saku Saku team for a wonderful brunch experience

Johnny Dubbaneh: Their savory and sweet pastries are amazing! Had the Truffle Mushroom, Ham & Cheese, Za’atar & Gruyère - all so delicious. Kouign Amman and almond croissants also so good

Kogibow Bakery: what do users think?

Erringer Helbling: Incredible experience. Highly recommend if you want something local and delicious. He did a wonderful job making the most beautiful and deliciously light cake for my husband’s dinner party.

Daljit Kaur Grewal: Sooooo good. Ordered a tres leches cake with Bavarian cream for a 24th birthday. The cake was incredibly moist, light, and delicious, and so beautifully decorated with fruits. 8” was more than enough and very affordable at $25. I wish I could’ve left a tip. (Candles purchased separately)

Vincent Honn: Seen this Sign with a phone # on it in a Movie called" How Do You Know" while Reece Witherspoon was walking in front of it.... so had to Google the # ....lol!

Nata Portillo: Great Bakery , been buying cakes here for over 10 years now and still the same great taste and same great designs and everything, the owner and his worker are always on point amazing bakery.

nebur2k2: This Bakery makes awesome cakes. I have always bought my Kids Birthday for a straight ten years. You get for what you pay well worth it. You could currently place your order by phone, you pick up and pay at the front door.

Ethan Phung: Was a great place! I ordered a cake there was really quick to order, came by to get the cake a couple hours later and it was delicious, everyone ate a slice. Had to come back for more!

Hana Market: what do users think?

Nils Hünerfürst: A little journey to Japan. When you feel some needs to shop into the world of japanese groceries then you have to visit Hana Market. After 1pm they sell fresh Onigiri. And mostly you will find all of the traditional japanese sweets like Baumkuchen and Rice Cakes. Really love this place.

Kali Smith: Very small store but has all the Japanese cooking staples needed for your kitchen. Very excited to see that there was bottled milk tea and some desserts. They also sell onigiri, but not on Wednesdays.

Hanna Foreman: Friendly owner and well curated store. Love coming here to pick up Japanese and Korean groceries. The instant ramen selection is great with Korean and Japanese options. Great selection of Japanese sauces, noodles, and seasonings. Snack aisle is always full of delicious surprises and I always walk out with something unexpected. Highly recommend if you’re looking for Japanese and Korean products in Washington.

Jennifer Sawyer: I’ve been going since they first opened many years ago. They have always been friendly and always stocked. I love the selection and go once a month to stock up on my favorites. From Matcha to Japanese food novelty items. It’s your one stop shop when you aren’t able to travel to NJ to the nearest large Japanese Supermarket.

Stephanie G: A tiny treasure! Small but packed to the brim with all you could need to make ramen, dashi, udon, etc plus sweets and produce. Staff is sweet and helpful.

Andrea Bielli: A small store full of good original Japanese products.Great selection of noodles and rice crackers but is it possible to find a lot of different things from confectionery, frozen dishes and fresh vegetables. A must for having a slice of Japan experience in DC.

David Yip: Really small store but packed with most of the basic essentials without having to go to a bigger store. Needed my instant noodles and Onigiri fix and I found it in this store. Will try their Japanese style breads the next time. Only 8 persons allowed in the store and mask on, read the posted sign.

Vijay Sookdeo: This is the only Asian grocery store in the DC area where you can find certain Japanese products. It’s small, but well stocked, and the staff is very friendly. Do get some of the rice balls when they have them.

Un je ne sais Quoi...: what do users think?

arun varughese: Wow. One of the best bakeries I have been to at a medium price range. They have really nice pastries which are lite and NOT loaded with sugar like many of the other bakeries. Pear tart - My favorite item from the place. It had a lite pear flavor with soft and yummy crust. Croquettes- really good and a steal for the price. Pistachio- they have really good pistachio cream so try any of their pistachio based pastries if available. Hot chocolate- The hot chocolate was good but nothing unique. Optional try. I am not sure if it’s authentic French as I don’t have a reference. But their pastries felt really high quality and you won’t have a sugar rush after having them.

Iris Tan: I LOVE everything here! I was visiting DC and My friend brought me here as this is her fav place for French pastries! We ordered 4 kinds and I loved them all! Especially the cream … they are not too sweet and creamy … also I did a quick sketch here to capture some cute moments;)

Da-Wang Wu: One of the best bakeries in DMV! They only sell croissant and breads before 11am and start selling desserts after 11am. The chocolate tarts and lemon tarts are both very delicious. Eclair and millefeuille are not bad but slightly too sweet for me, but my partner likes it. The chocolate brioche-like small bread was my favorite. Highly recommend!

Piper Strzelecki: Tragically, I am allergic to gluten, so I often don’t expect much from pastry shops. However, the staff were very helpful and I was able to pick from 2 options. I had the raspberry financier and it was easily the BEST gluten free bakery item I have ever had!!! Thank you for this 😁

Ashleah Younker: My friends and I stopped by on a whim and were very pleased by our decision! I got an eclair that I ate directly after purchasing that was So Good! I also got a chocolate twist and a raisin roll to go to share with my partner for breakfast the following morning. Both were delicious, but I preferred the raisin roll slightly. One of my friends ordered a hot latte, and it smelled divine.

Patricia Alejandro: Excellent apple turnover, warmed up and buttery, crispy pastry. The marveilleux was also excellent, multilayered with chocolate mousse, crunchy meringue and chocolate shards. Best if its kind I’ve had yet.

Teaism Dupont Circle: what do users think?

Min Li Fu: What a cute place to go for a meal before/after sight seeing at the White House. They have many unique and common tea selections. The food are Asian inspired and not like what you commonly see in other restaurants. Their cookies also look quite scrumptious.

Jessica Martin: A utterly delightful tea, small plate, and sweets place that never disappoints. A comfortable selection of indoor and outdoor seating perfect for working on your computer or catching up with friends. I got the jasmine crème brûlée which is rich and fresh and the jasmine tea with is perfectly brewed, not bitter at all. Prices are very fair and the servers are kind too. And they have all the information for allergies like gluten on hand if you need it. I’m glad this location stays open until 8.

Bolo 'Ye: This place is great!! I highly recommend it. The food is very delicious, great location very convenient, friendly staff, it’s very quiet inside you can literally come here do your work and no disturbances. You can either sit on the first floor or 2nd to enjoy delicious food. If your looking for a parking garage, LAZ parking garage is 2 minutes driving $10 all day.

Gaby Karakcheyeva: I go here very often and always get great quality food. I usually get the salmon bento box and the star of Africa tea and it never misses. I haven’t been disappointed by any of their food and the service is usually pretty quick depending on what you get, I’ve never waited more than 10-15 minutes

Ido Simyoni: Went for lunch. Counter service only. Even though we set upstairs, we had to come down to get our food. They messed up my order but fixed it within couple of minutes . Food was good After all.

Ronak Patel: Come here!! Not only is there a wide selection of teas and beverages, they have really great food. While we only came for some tea and an appetizer, it was all made exactly how we wanted it and one of the employees suggested these broccoli tots after I had ordered another broccoli appetizer (so I followed her suggestion) and I was not disappointed!

Rose Ave Bakery: what do users think?

Will Herbst: I showed up 10 minutes before it opened and waited in line for about 20 minutes total. This was one of the best breakfasts I have ever had. The bacon egg crescent was so good- the crescent itself was backed with ungodly amounts of flavor. The coffee milk tea is one of the most delicious beverages I’ve consumed. Passion fruit donut was wonderfully spongy. The passion fruit flavor really came across

Aisha Sees: I preordered the doughnuts on Sunday - process was smooth. I arrived after 1 on a weekday and there were plenty of street parking available. Picking up my order was easy but I did notice all the walk-ins were sold out by that time. Ordered 4 doughnuts: passion fruit, guava mousse, strawberry rose lychee, and black sesame. They were all good but the passion fruit one was my absolute favorite. Perfect balance of sweet and tangy, good ratio of filling vs doughnut (filled doughnuts are not my faves but these, I could do!). The dough was fluffy and light. I didn’t want to eat it all in one day so I refrigerated what I had left. Warmed it up a bit in the microwave the next day and it was still delicious.

Julia Hsia: No doubt my favorite bakery in the downtown area now… the croissant was a ma zing! 🥐The calamansi yuzu croissant was crazy. Although the egg white smell on the top was slightly strong, the taste was still good. The fruity sourness balanced the sweetness of the cream. Donut was great also, although I’m not a donut fan. I got a ube coconut one. The flavor was good! Definitely coming back again!

Kate Sutliff: Amazing bakery! Fantastic assortment of sweet and savory. Be prepared to plan ahead. Pre orders are the best way to get the items you want. Day of, the lines can be really long. Very friendly staff. We take anyone who visits us here.

Matcha Cafe Maiko: what do users think?

tomonori takahashi: I tried Matcha Kuromitsu Kinako Kokuto Gelatin Float. (Left one in the picture) This is like “All-star team” of Japanese sweet. Sweetness from Kokuto, strong flavor of Maccha and comforting flavor of Kinako. Well balanced taste and it reminds of my life in Japan. Little disappointment is Kokuto jelly wasn’t enough amount like the picture on menu.

Nishil Patel: Great chain of restaurants that offers amazing drinks and desserts. Today, I got the matcha and black seasme cheese iced lattes. The drinks were both very rich, creamy, and not too sweet. The slight saltiness of the cheese foam was a great addition to the sweetness of the drink. Would highly recommend trying the lattes.

Mina Myoi: Ordered Matcha Latte Ice with soy bean powder in it (not the original matcha latte). Should have ordered at least medium size . One of the best matcha latte I tried in the states! Definitely recommend the place. Going to try matcha ice cream next time.

Meia Harris: I am a matcha fiend, so naturally this is a must. I normally go to the location in Centreville, but I finally tried ordering at this kiosk. I got a matcha frappé this time around. It was delicious as expected! It was quite sweet, but not overly.

Melissa Farzin: Delicious matcha! The regular or medium size is more like a small, so size up. I got the iced matcha latte with oat milk and 50% sweetened. So delicious. I will definitely visit this little kiosk again soon!

Kali Smith: I love this chain, it never disappoints!! They have alternative milk. We got the iced matcha latte and the iced hojicha (darker flavor than matcha). Amazing!!

Gia Pham: Tried their tea, it was delicious. For the toppings I wanted boba but they weren’t ready yet so I got sea salt cream it was good. It’ll be better with boba though. I’ll come back and try their ice cream soon.

Nina Nabieva: I’ve been here for the 3rd time now and it’s always delicious ice cream and I will definitely come back again!

Dang Dang: Tasty tea with good prices, cute decorations, would be better if they have some tables and chairs here. 5 stars if they get improved

Milk Bar Logan Circle Flagship: what do users think?

India Lindsay: A classic, must-try dessert shop. Cereal milk soft serve is yummy and refreshing. The milk bar “crack” pie is great - we found it tasted better after taking it home and letting it sit in the fridge for a bit. The staff were friendly and offered generous samples. Gotta watch the Chefs table documentary on the founder before going - she has an inspiring story and helps you appreciate the dessert so much more (not that you need much help)

Jeff White: I tried this spot since my usual spot on 13th is now closed. The ice cream did not disappoint. They were out of corn flakes toppings so I went with cinnamon toast toppings. I loved it but not as good as corn flakes. Also surprised they had a parking lot.

keith singleton: Ordered from uber eats. And omg gluten free options finally! Got the marshmallow cookie and bday cake both gluten free specifically. The cookie is freaking amazing I regret not getting the 3 pack. I havent tried the gluten free cake yet. Am grateful to have another gluten free dessert option cuz not many places offer this for those of us with celiac disease.

Merissa Pemberton: Lavondae D was wonderful! The red velvet cake was definitely worth trying. The milk bar pie was most definitely not worth trying. Disappointed in the cost compared to how thin and small the slice was.

Love EJ: Unique flavor of soft serve items and cake.Strawberry shortcake is really good.

Josh Dailey: The cookies and the cake are unbelievable. I know sometimes they can be a little dry, but for the most part my experiences have been super positive. Cake price is pretty standard for a good cake, which in general is just expensive. I’d definitely go if you’re in the area, get the compost cookie! I’ve tried them all, as you can see in my pictures, and my top 3 are compost cookie, confetti cookie, and blueberry & cream cookie. Don’t miss out!

C Ark: Stopped by before they closed. They were very friendly and helpful. Prices are a bit ridiculous for a slice of cake and pie ($17 total) but at least the cake was a decent size (pie slice was tiny). Both the cake and pie were delicious.

SnoCream Company: what do users think?

Haley Markusson: one of the best desserts in the dmv, probably even the one of the best in the world. snow cream basically shaved ice cream with the most delicious toppings and drizzles. they have tons of unique flavors that are hard to come by like pandan, thai tea, and black sesame. they have a wide range of toppings from bananas, to red beans, and just about every other tasty topping you can think of. you can’t get a snow cream without finishing it off with a drizzle of chocolate, strawberry, or my all time favorite condensed milk. i love to experiment with different flavor and topping combos every time i visit. i love that they have an option where you can split the base between two flavors to try more. snow cream comes with two free topping and one free drizzle but i like to pile on to my heart’s content. i have yet to try any of there bubble teas or ice creams because the snow cream is so tempting. the vibe of this place immaculate! the colors, lights, and music all make it a great experience. while at the block make sure to also check out other vendors like ball kitchen and hold dumpling. everyone should try snow cream at least once in their life.

Jereth Tolentino: Wow! This place is good! Snowcream and Ube soft serve on point. The food court has. good vibe and good music. I definitely will recommend and come back.

Serra Karacam: This was the best shaved ice I’ve ever had. I got the Taro flavor with Oreos and pocky sticks as the toppings. No drizzle. It was delicious and it was only around 7 dollars. They give you a generous amount as well, absolutely worth the price. 100% recommend.

Casey Grimes: Amazing drinks! I hope they bring back the rose Thai tea and butterfly pea Thai tea those were my favorite. The snow cream is good too but I go for the bubble teas and fruity drinks more often. Not too sweet like other local shops.

Gia Pham: I get snocream here all the time!! every flavor is delicious and have many great toppings also. I got their limited edition boba tea called Butterfly Pea Thai Tea. The color itself is very beautiful and the drink is very good also. Totally recommend

Lee Stat: The place got very busy. I would’ve never noticed this place because the sign is so small. It’s hard to find. The ice cream was very good. I did like the Vietnamese coffee ice cream was very creamy. The cookie butter ice cream is delicious.

Deena Nguyen: unique flavors! i got black sesame and taro, both were delicious. they had a nice variety of toppings including red bean, pocky, rolled wafers, and mochi! will definitely return

Rashi Garg: Today was our first time here, we will definitely be coming back!! We tried the delish Snocream bowl, your choice of ice cream, toppings and a drizzle - definitely recommend! Other drinks were Vietnamese iced coffee, passionfruit boba tea, and Raspberry Lychee rose lemonade - yum!!

Siroo and Jukstory: what do users think?

DB L: I went here strictly for the corn dogs which is served up by Two Hands. I loved the modern self ordering menu. The original corn dog is COMPLETELY dusted with sugar. So this skews the meal a tad sweet. In the future, I would get the corn dog takeaway and pair it with a saltier item.

zeyanna aa: Very nice atmosphere. Workers were nice and helpful without being “fake nice”. I appreciated it. I got the bulgogi bibimbap and my husband got the spicy pork w/rice. Absolutely delicious and filling! The portion was great for the price. I had to get a To-go container for mine. The shaved ice is very refreshing too. They put extra toppings in the middle, so it wasn’t just shaved ice underneath :) They also have premade meals and kimbap. We bought one to take back with us on the road. YUM Thanks for the wonderful food on our road trip!

Charlene Taylor: My daughter found this place on TikTok. We live in Stafford and decided to drive up today. Honestly haven’t had Korean food like that, mostly Japanese. It was decent. Nice little experience for my family and the guy at the counter was explaining how to cook stuff at home for us. Super cool overall. Highly recommend the chicken cutlets. Nice crisp to them. The ramen was a bit spicy but like normal ramen. The hot dogs were good. Not like your American style hot dog. I can’t remember the soup looking bowl but it’s worth a try. The steak bowl was good as well.

Kali Smith: The best thing was the Korean corn dogs (gamja hot dog /감자핫도그) ! We tried two different flavors, potato and spicy , and they were amazing. You can get them with a hotdog inside, or mozzarella, or half and half. We got all mozzarella inside. We also got spicy pork and broccoli and shrimp juk. The juk was a little bland, but other flavor combinations are probably better. There are stations to order via touchscreen or at the counter. There is covid barrier at counter. Both hot and cold water are available / self serve. Plenty of seating and parking is available outside. Also several pre-prepared items available and Korean snacks for sale. Bingsu ( 빙수) is also on the menu, as well as teas and espresso drinks.

Sam M: This place offers a variety of delicious porridges and shaved ice and more. There’s plenty of seating inside and a lot of parking spaces in front of the place. I usually visit this place to get some porridges. I ordered kimchi porridge and beef and vegetable porridge and they were both really good. Their shaved ice with different toppings was sweet and flavorful. There are different side dishes and appetizers. Staffs were very accommodating and attentive every time I visited this restaurant. I highly recommend this restaurant if you want to try some good porridges and shaved ice

Gene H: Great food at very reasonable prices. Perfect place to pick up a corn dog or enjoy more traditional Korean dishes. Highly recommended.

Kee-Eun Lee: My mom loves this place for their kimbap and no needing to tip. Lol. Their ginseng chicken porridge is super good - they offer over 20 kinds! I could feel health energy popping up after this one. They’re open now for dine-in, wear a mask and 1-hour dining limit. Love that jangjorim is one of their side dishes, it’s this classic braised shredded beef in some sort of soy sauce marinade (left middle). Lastly I hear their bingsoos are the best in Annandale, but have yet to try. Will be back!

Altani Gelato & Coffee: what do users think?

Johnika Dreher: In the mood for ice cream after walking along the marina. We stumbled upon the closest spot but their line was out of the door. We looked via Google Maps for another dessert spot and was directed here. What a fantastic find. The gelato is amazing delicious. I enjoyed my Oreo flavor. My friend got a double flavor and enjoyed hers. We plan to bring our kids back to enjoy the water fountains one evening and try the pizza too. This is definitely a cool place to venture. I believe DC offers free parking on Sunday’s. Parking was pretty plentiful on this Sunday evening. The bathrooms leave everything to be desired - no tissue, just a whole mess for the women’s anyway. But I can’t fault the Gelato venue for this as they share a space with the Pizza vendor and the Sushi vendor. There is ample seating outside and a lovely rooftop space for pictures. The Navy Yard marina is just three blocks away. I hope you find this review helpful. If so, please give me a thumbs up. Thank you.

Kelly M.: I really enjoy this gelato shop and my favorite flavors are the lemon and cheesecake, though they offer such a great and delicious variety! The only thing I’ll say though is that it seems they’re keeping the gelato at too cold of a temperature. Gelato is supposed to be a bit softer and creamy but you can tell just by watching the server scoop your gelato that it is way, way too hard. I don’t remember this being an issue when I first went here several months ago but I’ve noticed it over the past couple visits. Hasn’t kept me from returning though….

Robert Cardoni: Delicious gelato ... a welcome addition to the neighborhood. Nice way to cap off a slice or 2 from the adjacent pizza place - Wise Guys The staff is super awesome. Very friendly and accommodating. Portions are generous and there’s tons of flavors. Love this place!!

Elsa Alvarado: Had no idea this was part of the sushi place; their gelato is so fresh and delicious. Loved the red velvet, Oreo, and strawberry flavors.

Dondré: The display of ice-cream inside was very reminiscent of Italy. The staff and service was great, very nice and patient. This ice cream shop is in a great location to be able to get the ice cream and walk through canal park or sit on all the benches in front of the water fountain.

Annette Antonelli: Flavor. Flaaaavor. We loved it; good vibe and service too. Try the Reese’s, dark chocolate, and Oreo chocolate.

Teaism Penn Quarter: what do users think?

Jon and Amanda Lewis: Stopped in for a quick snack after visiting the National Gallery of Art. Ordered a traditional bubble tea and a Salty Oat cookie (like an oatmeal raisin). Both were excellent. The rest of the menu looked fun. There are some sandwiches and bento boxes. Want to come back!

Karina Kisselite: There was a lot of sitting - the place has two floors. Their menu is kind of fun - an Asian fusion. The taste was just ok though. Not bad, but not smth to come back for. We had noodles with veggies and chicken okonomiyaki. Chocolate salted oatmeal cookie for dessert - that one was good. The place has a great selection of tees. A bit on a dirtier side when it gets busy. You order upstairs and have to wait for them to call your order.

Trev: I was walking to my car when I stumbled across this Tea shop. Atmosphere was great soon as I walked in. I tried The lavender lemon mint and the Korean beef brisket sandwich . It was amazing no complaints from me! I love the vibes in the shop for sure I really recommend giving this a try ! 5/5 from me for my 1st time 👍🏼

Proficient Potato: Not your traditional bubble tea offering, but they have so many other flavors I haven’t tried before! They also have warm food options, and have a binder with all of the Allergens for each dish and if contains meat right by the order counter! The food I got was great, warm, filling, and well spiced. First place I’ve had a paper boba straw!

Elias Chelala: A huge selection of teas complimented with an Asian fusion menu. I ordered the Okonomiyaki and my friend ordered the Korean Brisket sandwich. I also ordered the sweet matcha tea and added boba. My friend ordered regular black tea with boba. The tea was very refreshing on a hot DC day and we both left satisfied.

Zachary Tyler: Amazing blend of tasty, reasonably priced food with high quality and traditional varieties of tea. The silver needle white tea was amazing.

Yessenia C: The food is so delicious! Their chicken bento box is a must have, it comes with cold sweet potatoes and cold broccoli!. The onion sauce is dynamite! Their Korean brisket sandwich is really good. The sweet Japanese green tea (matcha) is refreshing. The teas are really good as well. 2 doors down they have a tea shop. UPDATE as of 5/18/22 They have brought back the panko fried chicken! I was told the menu will be changing soon.

Sushi Taro: what do users think?

Julia Schwartz: Sushi Taro was an absolutely lovely experience. I went with my brother who lives about 5 mins away while I was in town visiting. The service was impeccable and the food was fantastic. It was right after the snow storm and I was happy to see how many other people were still getting out and dining. My brother and I split everything and it was to die for. I know this is kind of random, but one of my highlights of the meal was the spicy mustard they served with the duck. I seriously could drink that mustard. I can’t wait for my next visit!

Michael B: This place is a very traditional Japanese sushi restaurant. The dishes are beautiful, the hospitality and service is too notch! I went here for my birthday and it was incredible! I loved the little green tea pudding they gave as a gift, it was the perfect treat to end the meal!

Daphnemels Melodia: Highly recommend. I had an amazing experience at Sushi Taro. Booked a reservation for our wedding anniversary and the restaurant made it really memorable for us. Our orders were: Sushi tokujo, Tai Zohsui and a raw octopus tentacle dish. Service: Excellent. Tara was our server and she’s attentive to our enquiries. She also patiently explained the names of the dishes to us (we showed her google photos). They were quite flexible with my request for no tamago, include uni and roe sushi. Dishes: Excellent. The sashimi slices on the sushi and octopus tentacles was fresh. The porridge had this umami flavour, simply delightful. Each dish was also plated in a pleasing manner. Price: $$$$ as what google dictates. But it’s worth it. Experience: Excellent. The restaurant surprised us with a matcha dessert at the end of our meal to celebrate our anniversary. The mochi was soft and chewy, the brown syrup paired well with the ice-cream and jelly cubes. I really appreciated the kind gesture and extra mile that Sushi Taro went for us. Thank you (:

Miguel Curiel: Some of the best sushi I’ve ever had. Don’t be fooled by the small and shady entrance: the place is spacious and nicely themed. Also, it is located on 17th street food corridor which is youthful and picturesque. Lastly, everything we ordered was absolutely delicious which explains its Michelin level ratings!

Hannah: Wow!! When we first walked in I was a little surprised that this place was a Michelin star. We came during restaurant week (menu attached) and every single dish was absolutely amazing! The freshest & most delectable fish my tastebuds have ever experienced, they were literally dancing. Decor was simple but elegant, was a nice environment and good service. This restaurant is definitely deserving of their star & highly recommend !

Salman Haji: Delicious food with lots of variety! The menu is intimidating for someone who has even a basic understanding of Japanese food, but our waitress was super kind and patient in explaining everything to us. Definitely loved the dessert and tea options too.

Shilla Bakery & Cafe (Annandale): what do users think?

Rashi Garg: Nice Asian bakery in Annandale. They offer a large variety of coffee and baked goods ranging from bread, buns, crossiant, Asian pound cake to really exquisite looking cream cakes. We got the mango cream cake for a family birthday, looks really good, cNt wait to try it! We also tried their Bingsoo, Korean shaved ice with ice cream ND toppings, we got the Hawaianand coffee bingsoo. They were okay, but honestly we prefer the Snocream across the street.

Jene: So I went into shillas bakery today looking for some breakfast and I got the egg and cheese. The egg was not very warm but the croissant was buttery and delicious. I also had a coconut macaroon was was yummy. I think this is a good bakery and I will be back :) Edit: So I went Back and it was great I brought a delicious crossiant with strawberry pastry cream and my god it was amazing thank you for making delicious pastries ✨

ziniya zahedi: Shilla Bakery is my favorite.... Going there for years and the taste never changed..... their cakes, cream buns, and chicken croquettes are to die for..... Update after a year: nothing changed. Still love them. Yum yum!

Q: Very light cakes with very full in cream and taste. Flavors are somewhat light and not heavy to digest. Variety of cakes all great for the choosing. Parking lot is so small and tight. But, we usually do the pick up so it is what it is. Service and the staff are friendly and nice. They are our #1 choice for Bday cakes for family. So we are there 8x of the year for bday cakes not including other purchases. A must go and decent value in prices with a great to go box.

C F: Just purchased and had delivered a fresh cream fruit cake. It was beautiful and tasty!! The fruit was fresh and the cake was so light and delicious. The outside is a fresh whipped cream consistency and not crazy sweet which was exactly what I was looking for so you could taste the fruit and vanilla cake. It was delivered in a really cool cake box which kept the whole cake in perfect condition. Our whole family loved it! I will purchase again!!

Daniel Capobianco: Genuinely one of my favorite places on earth. I always get the Shilla Omelette, but the pastries are great as well. The aroma of the store in the morning when they are putting all the warm pastries out is heavenly.

ALEXXXANDRIA 1313: I WAS CRAVING SUSHI AND HAD SEEN HIGH REMARKS ABOUT THIS PLACE ON SOCIAL MEDIA SO I WENT. EXPECTING TO SIT DOWN AND EAT THEY’RE ONLY OPEN FOR TAKEOUT! BUMMER! BUT THAT DIDN’T STOP ME FROM GIVING THIS PLACE A GO. I ordered 2 rolls, an avocado salad, eel + ikura + mackerel sashimi and shrimp/veggie tempura. Everything was great. 10/10 for Presentation!!! They even have alcohol for sale (TO GO). Definitely adding this spot to my list Hopefully they return to dine-in service soon because if their TO GO looks/tastes this good I could only imagine how the experience is sitting inside the place enjoying the food.

Majo Lares: The sushi was great! We ordered different times of sushi, and all of them were good and fresh .

Mischa: As far as sushi goes, the prices are fairly good, and the quality and taste is also good…I just wish they would have more Japanese craft beers! This place is nice, though, so try it if you like sushi and or sake!

Amritha: Was @ Momiji for lunch on a Sunday. We, a party of 2 walked in during late afternoon and were seated right away. Service was good and the food was also good. Would visit again. Ambiance and decor : 4/5 Location and access : 4/5 Service: 4/5 Food taste and quality: 4/5 Cost : $$ ($60 for lunch for 2 with drinks) Worth the $ : yes We ordered cold sake and it was really good. Appetizers were tasty. Loved the sweetie rolls sushi from their signature sushi list. Did not like the “dynamite” sushi rolls much. Must try their white tuna for appetizers. Would visit again 👍

Gabriel jimenez: I order the Rainbow and the crazy roll. I recommend this place.

Ekaterina Mateorova: It was delicious! A huge portion of the freshest fish! the quality of the fish is at a very high level. This portion of Chirashi dinner can feeds two. It is so difficult to find a good restaurant when you have a trip. Momiji was the best chose for my family yesterday.

Tout De Sweet Pastry Shop: what do users think?

Eileen Coxe: Super cute pastry shop. Everything looks amazing. Coffee is good and so are the pastries. Would recommend going here to get some small bites and coffee.

Rachael Houston-Carter: I ordered macarons for my baby shower hostesses as gifts and not only were they delicious but they came wrapped beautifully with the perfect color ribbon as well! Highly recommend!

Cintia Cantuária: Very friendly staff, although small quantity. Would give 5 stars if food (quiche, deserts, and cappuccino) were more flavorful and quiches were served warmer. Almond croissant is really good though!

Jennifer Lang: Delightful. I have been in Bethesda in a hotel for a long period for work. Breakfast has been a challenge. No more. Stopped here for desserts for colleagues a couple weeks ago. Came back for breakfast. Bit pricy but great coffee, perfect fruit and and an amazing pastry in a zen little spot w cheerful counter service.

Kailee Sebastian-Mixx: Quality, skilled baking here. We mostly order custom cakes and special orders from them -- the quality is excellent and pastries and cakes both delicious and attractive. If we were to choose one, the pastries would be on the better side. That said, we think the custom orders are better than the mass produced regular menu items.

Zain Ibrahim: Consistently awesome service! Everything here is super tasty, definitely a must try if you are in Bethesda

Wendy Molina: Hands down the best pastry shop in all Bethesda at this time. Dec 2021Try the almond croissant, Eclair and opera pastry.

Donburi: what do users think?

Rose Muise: We both ordered the Sakedon and did all but lick the bowl clean! The simplicity and cleanliness of the first floor gave me the sense that my food was about to be GREAT- and I was entirely correct. I ordered to go and then got delayed on my way out the door so my food sat for an extra 15 minutes before I got to it. I was nervous about how the salmon would taste with the delay, but the way that the bowl was packaged with the fish separate from the rice was the perfect level of protection. The quality of the food was excellent for the price. Every component was intentional and with the perfect ratio. The salmon seemed to be great quality so there was no need to hide it under piles of unnecessary toppings. I am truly looking forward to coming back to try out the rest of the menu.

Hilda Kroll: I really enjoyed the Ebi Katsudon. The shrimp was delicious, the rice piping hot, and the egg well cooked to order. Very nice staff. Seating is up a flight of stairs.

Mohan Sun: We got dinner here and the food is very solid. We ordered pork butt and mixed katsu don. Both are very flavorful and perfectly cooked. A big shoutout to the staff too. I forgot my purse there. They called and waited for me even though it already passed the closing time. Very nice and hardworking folks. I would definitely go back.

Sharon: Delicious! Nice fast dining experience and incredibly yummy :) Staff was also so friendly. Loved the variety in my meal as well, I will definitely be back! Just note this was the perfect amount for me (a pretty small person), but might not be enough for someone with a larger appetite.

baba stephan: Nice meal, but a bit expensive , small portion, 20$ for a meal and a coke add 10% tips and you serve yourself... it should be around 12$ it is the real price all around the world... even less in Japan

Derek Kim: Very good signature dish! Salmon tasted little off but everything else was good!

Pluma by Bluebird Bakery: what do users think?

Hannah Hunt: Excellent cardamom morning bun and overall experience. There is a good variety of pastries available to order. This was my first time but I definitely plan to come back. The inside was also beautiful, really nice atmosphere.

Chanpen Tee: The place looks so nice and clean. The staff is friendly. And chocolate croissants is good. I will tey their coffee next time.

Celestino Garcia: This coffee shop is dope. The coffee is a great and the pastries are A1. Breakfast sandwich is pretty good too.

Meg Voorhis: Upscale bakery and coffee spot in the greater union market corridor. Fresh savory vegetarian options and good bread, but a bit pricy (~$50 lunch for 4 items) and service from the made to order menu was slow.

Hannah Yoo: Best pastries in the city!! Seriously I always try to stop in for a bite then end up eating the entire pastry case. I especially love the croissants and morning buns, and they also have beautiful salads and yummy pizzas. Also love that it’s a small business owned by locals. Love spending all day here drinking coffee and catching up with friends on weekends. Neighborhood gem!

Alex: This breakfast sandwich is honestly one of the best in DC. Freshly made bun + tender, sweet, salty pork belly + perfectly cooked egg. Amazing.
