Washington Plaza Hotel: what do users think?

Kelley Hambrick: Absolutely beautiful place. All the staff were very friendly and hospitable. We were treated very well. I love that your car is locked secure in the garage every night. Check out time is NOT at the crack of dawn...the only disappointment was the beautiful pool was closed. The bathroom tile was beautiful and clean. Beds were comfy and very clean. Location, I gave 4 stars only because it was a little bit of a walk to get to the museums. But also, it was a nicer quiet area, right across the street from the beautiful Martin Luther Church.

Shannon Dermid: Upon arrival, we were greeted and welcomed so pleasantly. The young lady that checked us in went above and beyond for us after we asked her about some local black owned restaurants. The pool was not open as of yet but looked great! We will definitely return to enjoy the pool and their outdoor bar. The restaurant bar inside the hotel was great as well, the lady bartender was alot of fun. The greeter was always attentive and very friendly when opening the doors for everyone. Parking was so easy, it is a extra charge BUT it is in all of DC hotels. It was very clean and beds and pillows comfortable. This hotel is in a PERFECT LOCATION, right in the middle of everything. This is our go to stay at spot now.
Response: We're delighted you enjoyed your stay and we look forward to having you back soon!

Connor Roberts: Excellent location, service and comfortable rooms. The parking situation was extremely secure and easy as well. Perfect hotel right in the middle of Downtown DC if you want to be within walking distance of all the attractions. There is a complimentary gym with more than average options to workout as well. The pool is quite nice and has a bar outside too with great employees. Couldn't recommend staying here enough.
Response: Mr. Roberts, thank you for 5 out of 5 rating and for the great review. We couldn't agree with you more - our location is ideal, our amenities extensive and our staff is top notch. Please think of us again for your next DC visit!

Ted LeBlond: I had stayed at the Washington Plaza about four years ago. Some when I found out last month that I would be in Washington DC for nine days, I obviously made my reservation there. Like last time I was extremely pleased with the service and the hotel. All the staff from the front desk to maintenance and housekeeping are polite and professional. When I had a very minor issue with my shower faucet and I reported it to the front desk maintenance had come up literally within minutes fix it quickly and correctly. The entire hotel is very clean and neat. I had daily housekeeping and I don’t know how they made the bed. It was always so nice and barely a wrinkle on the sheets. I hated to sit down or lay down on it but I did have to go to bed sometime. I got a great rate because it was in the middle of December and also they had a seven day promotion. But one thing I like most about the Washington Plaza is they do not charge one of those ridiculous destinations or amenity fees that seem to be the trend now with so many hotels. I highly recommend this place.

Gabs B: To be honest, we felt a little "catfished" by the online advertising and found the room a little small & fairly outdated and the bathroom layout was very strange. The gentleman who checked us in at night could've been more welcoming but otherwise the staff were great. The location was fantastic, we found it very easy to navigate the town & get back. Pool & gym were good. We ultimately enjoyed our stay.
Response: Thank you for staying with us during your DC visit and thank you for sharing your feedback. We value guest comments as these help us continuously improve our hotel based on what is important to our guests.

Eldon Korson: The hotel was a wonderful setting for my long-distance girlfriend's and my first in-person meeting! The staff were very kind (shout-outs to David, Alva, Paul, and Treasure!), The rooms and beds were comfortable, and the food was delicious. I don't know how to compare prices because it was a nicest hotel I've stayed at, but I didn't think it was bad.

Ios ParosNaxos: This during the pandemic. The interior was looking just a little run-down. The room had no microwave or mini-fridge, so you had to rely on room service. But their service was excellent and the food was good. Coffee came in large pots. Lunch was also served but not dinner. Snacks and some alcoholic beverages sold at the front counter 24/7. The hotel also has a a very cozy restaurant, which, at the time, was closed. Everything you need is within walking distance including a 7/11 and dry cleaners, a hair salon and Whole Foods Market. The hotel is also located on the edge of the downtown area, the drug store is a block away. The people living in this neighborhood are A+.

Olivier Miart: Good hotel but a little dated and tired, the pool is not always supervised and closes for 30min end of the afternoon while supervisor takes break, hotel laundry service lost two of my shirts, refunded the dry clean but it did not cover for the cost of my lost shirts. Also don't bring your own snack in the lounge area outdoors otherwise you'll be told loud and clear that you cannot eat your own food there. Welcoming staff, good location and views.

Holly Niro: I was happy with the hotel while we were there. The parking was expensive but secure. The food wasn't bad but overpriced. However, I recently checked my credit card and saw I was charged $900 for a damaged TV. I NEVER, NEVER damaged anything in a hotel. I was traveling with my 80 year old mother and I told the front desk the TV/remote weren't working properly. The staff hung up on me twice when I called to inquire about the charges. Spoke to 2 different managers and neither were helpful. The first was rude and offensive. So upsetting.

Hyatt Place Washington Dc/Us Capitol: what do users think?

Jessica Marie: I stayed here last week. Overall, I had a pleasant time and experience even though I did not get the room I initially paid and requested for. I paid for early check-in and Higher Floor Room. When I arrived I was given a key to a High Floor Room but someone was still in the room. Let the front desk rep know and was given another key to a lower floor room but still had a nice view. Room was clean and roomy enough space for two relax and comfortable. Breakfast was lackluster so don't have high hopes. Hotel is in a perfect location, close to great food spots, grocery store and my favorite Starbucks. 5 minutes from the Metro and Close to Downtown. I will stay here again on my future visits.

Melanie Brown: Hotel is nice, breakfast is good, everything was clean and well stocked. Giving 5 stars because the staff is exceptional! Above and beyond meeting every need and SUPER friendly! Another bonus is the cold water they keep in the lobby. It had ice and was full every time we came down morning or night. What a comfort for busy tourists, especially in the summer. There are drugstores, food and coffee right around the corner. And ubers into all of the tourist attractions were fairly inexpensive. We will be staying here again! dispense in the lobby

Derek Kruger: Make sure to use ʜoᴛᴇʟʙoʟʟʏ.ᴄᴏm when booking any room. This site will compare countless booking websites and normally will have prices much cheaper than others! You're welcome :)! This hotel is one of the highest rated in the area. I've been staying here for a very long time. If you decide to stay here you won't be let down. Hotel is nice, breakfast is good, everything was clean and well stocked. Giving 5 stars because the staff is exceptional! Above and beyond meeting every need and SUPER friendly! Pola P: The sheet of the bed was dirty. The road outside was very loud and I could hear every car going by while being in my room. The walls are very thin and I could hear people from the other room almost all evening. The bathroom door was very loud! It was squeaking. The breakfast wasn’t that good. The room was spacious and nice. The air conditioner was very easy to operate. The elevators were very fast and nice!

Sonny Iqbal: I stayed in this location for wife's birthday! The staff was very nice and courteous. They made our stay very special. The place was clean and the room has great views. Special thanks to the front desk staff and the General Manager who was present. I highly recommend staying here. Great location for activities in DC. Close to H street and the national Mall.

Jen Bradley: Pay for the valet or your car WILL be broken into!!! At least a dozen cars had a window smashed out during our stay & center consoles ripped out. They put two holes in my window trying to break in but couldn’t get it to shatter. Everyone else, not so lucky. When I told the front desk they said they tell everyone not to park on the street (when we arrived they said valet or street were the options, no warning whatsoever about the DAILY break-ins and complete lack of police presence). Breakfast was ok. Semi convenient location but not safe (vacant lots flank half the street). Coffee shop across the street was nice. Room wasn’t that clean. Needed a blanket for the pull out couch and had to wait 30 min, as no one was attending the front desk. Phone did not work. Need a key card to gain access to the lobby and to activate the elevator, even in DC that says a lot,

Erika Williams: Personally, this is not what I'm used to for a Hyatt and the 1st night I was very disappointed with the room to the point that I didn't want to be in it at all. However, the front desk staff was very accommodating and moved us to a different room for the remaining nights. The parking situation should definitely be fixed especially since the only true and safe option is to pay $53/night for valet unless you're ok with the possibility of your car being broken into. There were public parking lots available for a fee, but when we drove around those, there were cars already there with broken windows even being right next to the police department, so that should be changed. I also think that based on the location and the environment around this hotel, the price of the rooms should be decreased slightly especially with the limited parking availability. Another issue I ran into was that the room we booked for had breakfast included for an additional charge, but we found out when we got to the hotel that breakfast was included for everybody. However, I do want to mention that we booked through booking.com so I think that was more of a third party issue than the hotel's doing. I don't think I'll stay at this hotel again just because of where I prefer to stay, but I will also be sure to do a better job at using things like Google Earth to check the surroundings of a hotel before making a reservation there.

Melinda White: Stayed last weekend with friends. We booked two rooms and were given rooms 11 floors away from each other one of which was dirty and had no linens on the bed. We called the front desk to inform them and they stated they would have it cleaned while we were out for the day. Came back hours later to the room in the same unclean condition. We went to the front desk to resolve this as well as being double charged. They moved us to a new room and stated they would be discounting the rooms but instead they charged us an upgrade fee. So don't stay here if unless you are looking to be overcharged and stay in dirty rooms. Only good thing was the valet staff. Immanuel in particular was very friendly and helpful ensuring our cars were safe throughout the stay.

uthra pakkiriswamy: Towels were smelling full of smoke! That means they haven’t changed from previous stay or they haven’t washed properly. Whole room was filled with smoke. For 4 people, 1 shampoo and 1 soap was provided. Exhaust fan wasn’t working in toilet. Worst room service in my entire life! Kitchen, valet service was good.

Hotel Washington: what do users think?

Jacob Lopez (JL): I wish I could give 5 stars! The view was fantastic and the lobby. It’s central to so many activities and restaurants to choose. Staff is very friendly and helpful. It’s kid friendly. The location is key! The sink was very small, and breakfast needs to improve. The hotel room didn’t have a food menu! When checking in… the concierge didn’t provide me with any information regarding hotel amenities!

Doug Dickinson: Highly recommend this Hotel. The location is perfect, close to all the main DC attractions. The staff was amazing, very helpful and friendly. The rooms were nice and very clean. The best park of the hotel is the rooftop restaurant and bar that overlooks the White House. Went there for a few drinks at night. The music was good and bartenders were great.

Cesar Desouza: We didn't stay in this hotel. We had a plan to have lunch in the rooftop, to appreciate the amazing view of the Washington monuments. But, it was closed and open after 5 pm. We decided stay in the bar for a while. Alex the bartender is a very friend and professional guy. The drinks and appetizers are very well done. We returned from our hotel at 8 pm to have a dinner. This place offer a very amazing view. Unbelievable view. Our food was delicious and healthy. The staff very gentile. We had a very good time and recommend all tourist to visit this place.
Response: Hello Cesar, Thank you so much for taking the time to share your experience at our hotel. We are thrilled to hear you loved our beautiful property and cant wait to welcome you back. Alex, and all of our associates, will be very happy to read your comments, and actually read how they are impacting not only hotel guests but patroons as well. Thank you, Guest Service Manager

Peter Grambs: This is a great property in a great location. Newly renovated and it shows. Room was fantastic (we got a slightly larger King) with great views. Loved the rooftop bar. Front desk staff was great and took an extra moment to find us a room with a view. The location is right in the middle of things - walkable to the mall and all the museums and right across the street from the White House. Lots of restaurant choices nearby too.

James Wills: Stayed for a two day trip to DC sightseeing. Fantastic central location to the Mall. Service was great and rooms were spotless! Definitely recommend! Gym was new and had a range of cardio machines and weights. Showers in the room were very funky to! The roof top bar provides great views across the White house park opposite.
Response: Thank you for staying with us! We are thrilled to hear that you enjoyed your stay. Please come see us again.

Yuhan Wang: Stay here if you can accept its price. The location is perfect. The room is a little bit small, with a super super tiny sink. But you can feel the small details that they provide in the room. One of the staff at the front desk is not very friendly. The room inside is very clean, but they definitely need to clean their windows. I could barely see the outside buildings clearly with that much dirt on the window.

Amanda Mingard: Location is great. Service is hit or miss. Checked in with Mary and she was awesome and let me into the room early as I had three small kids. Requested a pack n play but it came with no bedding so I had to remedy that. Then one of my kids spilled a water bottle all over their bed. At 4:30 I called the front desk to see if house keeping would be coming soon. The guy who answered was rude and abruptly said we weren't scheduled for service. We were only there two nights but at more than $400 a night, I expect to get housekeeping if we want it or at least to be told that we wouldn't get service during our stay. I don't expect new towels and linens daily but the shampoo and conditioner were not even large enough for 2 days for 1 person, let alone a family and obviously a coffee bar and water refresher would have been nice. Ultimately we bumped into a housekeeper on the way to dinner and explained the bedding and she was super kind and got the kids a dry comforter. The guest services guy who answered the phone should find a role that doesn't involve dealing with people.

John Haines: The best part of the Hotel Washington is definitely its extremely central location in DC, it is near virtually all the sights. The front desk is not vey good, the three times I interacted with them they barely gave me the time of day. At one point I forgot my key in my room and asked for another and the person at the desk glared at me and gave me the new key without saying a word. The room was fine, although the view out the window was literally staring at a concrete wall. There is also no easy way to find out about the amenities for the hotel, I had to call the concierge multiple times for simple questions like how to order room service or the housekeeping hours. Overall the hotel is fine, but for the price I do not think it is worth it, if you are going to spend 400$ a night on a room you might as well go someplace a little less barren.
Response: Hello There John, Thank you for choosing our hotel for your recent stay in DC and thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us. We truly value your feedback as it helps us improve for future guests experiences. Please know your experience is not typical as we strive to provide all of our guests with the best levels of service. We will certainly use your comments as a coach opportunity and share with our team. Should future travels find you back in DC, please contact a rooms manager directly and we will ensure your stay is nothing but flawless. Thank you, Cirkya Burgos

Kim Sousa: We booked our stay here for a high end experience. Due to the hotel hosting large wedding parties, guests were disrespectful with their noise level to the point that it woke me up out of a dead sleep and the noise went on passed midnight. I called the desk and they sent security which appeared to only make guests even more disrespectful. Then a second wedding group had well over 10 people in their room and were cheering and being so loud even in the hallway. After my first complaint to the front desk it took at least 2 hours until the noise was finished. When we spoke to the manager the next day he gave us 50% off that night of our stay ($250– we are talking a $500 per night room plus tax). He also added that noise after hours is considered 2am…. I think that is pretty late for a high end hotel. To top it off, when I got home I noticed a really nice expensive leather bag I never even took out of my suitcase during my stay, went missing. The only people alone with my suitcase during my entire trip was housekeeping (i brought a small carry on suitcase). I called the hotel lost and found as soon as I got home and the hotel said to call the next day at noon because housekeeping did not claim anything into lost in found yet….. The hotel itself is a work of art, staff were friendly (for the most part), and location is near most museums and monuments. But locked up your things and hopefully you are a party animal. Pretty disappointed since it had been a really long time since I travelled for leisure.

Amanda Baggot: Stayed here a few weeks ago and the proximity to everything is perfect! Only a couple blocks from the White house, Monument and Lincoln memorial. It's a little more of a hike (just walking) to some of the museums but most are within a mile! Hotel is upscale and the rooms were small but VERY clean! Only minor complaint was that the bed was a bit lumpy, but not really that big of a deal!

Courtyard by Marriott Washington, DC/U.S. Capitol: what do users think?

BC Turk: To start, the valet parking is outrageous but there is a garage literally right down the same road for about a third the price. The staff is super friendly. Housekeeping would speak to us and ask if we needed anything as we headed to the elevators. Everyone was always saying, Have a good day”. The amenities within the hotel room were good. We checked the sheets and filters and all was clean. Sheets are super thin but worked out okay. Fridge, microwave, coffee maker, and sink/bar. All the you need. I like the security they have coming in. It is a two minute walk to the Metro (red line). Would recommend for location being close to a walking path and the Metro.

Mohammed Mohammad: Stayed here for 4 days. Overall my stay was great. My stay included breakfast. This hotel is great in terms of service and kind staff. As for the breakfast, it's not an open buffet style. They have a menu and customer choose from it. Though the choices were limited, we enjoyed every breakfast dish we tried. Chef Mo is an excellent chef excited these dishes in a fine great way. Ladies tacking the orders also were very friendly and helpful. As for the location, it's a 15-20 min walk to the convention center and a little bit more to reach the attractions near to it. The only thing they need to add is an airport shuttle which currently not available. Enjoyed the toiletries with the refreshing lemon smell. Overall, thank you guyz for the great stay.

Garrett Robak: Extremely friendly staff from the front desk, the cafe, management, housekeepers, and valet. Everyone was so pleasant and made the stay that much more enjoyable. The hotel is very modern and has very comfortable amenities. The hotel is also located in a really great section of DC where there are a ton of restaurants and shops that are within walking distance.
Response: Greetings Garrett Robak, Thank you so much for staying with us at Courtyard Washington DC US Capitol and providing us with feedback on your experience. Our team understands that providing genuine customer service is the key element that makes our valued guests such as yourself continuing coming back! We hope to see you on your next journey to the Nation's Capital. Hotel Leadership Team

Shane Broyles: First off, the staff were all amazing! Everyone we passed said hello, asked if we needed anything. Front desk were always attentive and we're able to help with everything we needed! The ice machine on the floor we stayed at was a little unreliable, but it wasn't too bad to pop to another floor to grab it. Two notes: First was that housekeeping didn't come most days until after 5:30 when we were back in the room. Second, breakfast buffet was pricy and not warm, but other options are available. Convenient to the Red Line Metro (literally next door) All-in-all, I would happily stay with them again!

Cema-D Cema-E: My family stayed 1 night on the 21 of April 2022. We stayed in two rooms. Room 617 in which the heating system did not work and the room was excessively hot. The second Room was 330 in which the Toilet did not flush. Had to fill the trash can in the tub to make the toilet flush. On top of that, they charged me 1007.00 dollars for the two rooms, and the rate I was given was 183.50 for each room. My math says they stole my money through their practices. I would not recommend this particular hotel. I did try to speak to the manager but because I was white she just told me too bad that's the charge. Be wary of this business.

Jean Ng: We read a lot of negative reviews about this place and some is kinda true. Parking is an issue BUT we found a garage just across from the hotel inside the ELEVATION BUILDING which a full day charge is only $16 max. We left the car in the garage for the entire week stay and just use the metro as our main transportation. The room we got was nice and comfortable. Although we have an issue with the AC. The temperature is constantly at 73 even tho we set it for 68. A little stain on the couch but no big deal. The room also have good noise insulation (maybe I just slept through it since we walk so much during the day) Big shout out to Miss Nu who checked us in. She just brighten our day and made us feel special. There is a refreshment table set up with coffee tea water and cookies for free after the breakfast period. Tons of food options around and trader joe’s is just 6mins away on foot towards Union Market.

DK Adams: This trip was a treat for me since I had recently come out of the hospital. The staff was very friendly. The valet man was helpful as well. Our room was very comfortable. I'm glad we went.

ESB NYC: Busy and basic Marriott in NE DC. It was fine for what we needed but I’m not too enthusiastic. Room was clean. There were some kinda gross stains on the sofa/ottoman that were unappealing but we’re not too fussy. They charge $45+tax for daily parking but you can self-park across the street for $16 a day including tax, literally 3 minutes walk. The morning coffee situation was not very well organized. There were also some strange service issues with the front desk. We stayed in the same room but we utilized two separate reservations, the front desk seemed very confused about this and they came up to our room with a rather confrontational demand that we come downstairs to check out and check into the room again although we had been told on the phone that we were good to go. Not really a big deal but I felt that the aggressive posture was unnecessary and left me with a bad taste. On top of that, I am a gold Bonvoy member and I would’ve been entitled to a room upgrade which I declined for the convenience of remaining in the same room. One thing that I believe some other people commented about is that you cannot control the temperature in your room effectively. There is a thermostat and you can make the numbers move up and down a bit but it doesn’t appear to have any effect on the temperature in the room which seems to be controlled centrally. There were a couple of evenings where we were uncomfortably warm. On the plus side, you are just a couple of minutes from the Noma metro station and there is also a Dunkin’ Donuts close to that. You’re also about a 8 to 10 minute walk from the Union market area which has a Trader Joe’s and some great restaurants and other food options inside the market. If not for the convenience of the location and the comparatively reasonable price, this would probably be a three star review.

Kenneth McIntosh: This Marriott sucks badly. Forget parking unless you want to pay a lot extra for valet services. Free breakfast isn't exactly free and the place is beings renovated. At least I had a great experience at the Marriott in Long Island, NY.

Hamilton Hotel DC: what do users think?

Gretchen Bennett: I was worried by some of the reviews, but my stay was terrific. Kind, attentive staff. Nice room. Comfy bed. Mini-fridge (which I love). Great meal in the restaurant. Sure, its an older hotel, but that gives it character and charm. Great walking location.
Response: Thank you for your review Gretchen Bennett, I am glad you enjoyed your experience staying with us. We pride ourselves on providing the best possible service and I am glad we exceeded your expectations. Please make sure to come see us again when you return to Washington and thank you so much again for choosing the Hamilton Hotel. Best Regards

C.L. Sharp: It wasn't my favorite. Not terrible, but wouldn't be my choice again.... Edit -I would contact the "owner" of this hotel had they given me a way to, But I feel they only responded to keep face. So let me be a little more direct. The room was absolutely filthy. The bathroom was disgusting. Underneath the sink where the towels and washcloths are housed, was grotesque. We stayed for 4 days and asked for no housekeeping, and handled that ourselves. Except on the third day, I called and asked to have our towels replaced. After waiting an hour and a half from being told they would be right up, I called again. Only to be met with sass and rudeness. The overall look of this hotel, is dingy and gross. I hope you're not expecting a doorman, because they are sporadic at best! ... Are you in line to check out of the hotel, that doesn't matter, they will put people checking in before you. Do You hope that the receptionist people will be decent when you do finally get to them, not a chance. Do you have hopes for the restaurant attached to the hotel? Don't! Do you want to get a good night sleep in a comfortable bed, good luck. Do you like pillows? Too damn bad, The Hamilton's pillows are a joke. Do you want to be able to control the temperature of the water in your shower, I suggest you stay elsewhere, cuz you're not going to get it there... When we inevitably have to go back to DC. I would pick a Holiday inn over this place.
Response: Thank you for your review C.L. Sharp. I am sorry that you were not completely satisfied with your stay. May you please contact me at the hotel so we can discuss further? I want to get a better understanding of the shortcomings that you experienced so we can improve our services. I look forward hearing from you, please get back to me at your earliest convenience. Best Regards

Rich Campoamor: Great hotel location let down by surly staff, hidden charges and a complete lack of services. If your experience is like ours, you will arrive to a dirty room (it looked like someone had gobbed on the wall and lamp - really unappealing during a pandemic), no clean towels, no room cleaning, only way to request anything is via text message which they take as an invitation to spam your mobile constantly. I get that the labor market is tough, but don't take it out on your guests.
Response: Thank you for your review Rich. I am sorry that you were not satisfied with your stay. May you please contact me at the hotel so we can discuss further? I want to get a better understanding of the shortcomings that you experienced so we can improve our services. I look forward hearing from you, please get back to me at your earliest convenience. Best Regards

C Yager: Great staff, clean hotel, close to White house.; but a bit of a walk to Smithsonian. Comfortable bed, bathroom products are the giant size pump with very strong peppermint smell, a bit too much for me , nice water pressure in shower. Stayed on 2 floor but a bit noisy from street sounds, would recommend staying higher up. The hotel bar had great burgers.
Response: Thank you for your review C Yager, I am glad you enjoyed your experience staying with us. We pride ourselves on providing the best possible service and I am glad we exceeded your expectations. Please make sure to come see us again when you return to Washington and thank you so much again for choosing the Hamilton Hotel. Best Regards

Alicia Zelaya: The hotel room was great. The hotel was very pretty and well maintained.my only complaint really was that there was not vending machines or a small shop to allow you to buy small necessities like bottles of water, etc. However, the staff was very friendly. They even brought us a microwave to our room when I asked if there was a way to heat up left over food.
Response: Thank you for your review Alicia, I am glad you enjoyed your experience staying with us. We pride ourselves on providing the best possible service and I am glad we met your expectations. Please make sure to come see us again when you return to Washington and thank you so much again for choosing the Hamilton Hotel. Best Regards

DoingStuff: Overall not great. Bathtub was clogged, AC stopped working. I was told it would be fixed right away... It wasn't. Some lightbulbs weren't working. The "resort fee" came out of nowhere. I would rather they charge me upfront rather than hide behind a resort fee. Sleeping on one of the beds made me itchy. I would not come here again nor recommend staying here. The only good thing was the location.

Grand Hyatt Washington: what do users think?

Joshua Russell: The Grand Hyatt is a very large hotel near Chinatown, just a couple blocks from Capital One Arena. They have a covered car pull through if you are arriving by car which is nice in case of bad weather but can get a bit busy as it doesn’t seem anyone really is directing people. Once inside the check in desk is to the left rear of the very large lobby. The front desk staff is very nice and efficient. We were able to get checked in very quickly and able to get to our room with ease. The elevators are at the back of the lobby. There were about 6 elevators so you don’t have to wait long to catch one. The room is very spacious and very comfortable with a very nice sitting chair as well as a desk. We had a king bed and it was very comfortable, though one extra pillow would have been nice as there were three pillows so if there are two people both could have two. The bathroom is nice as well with good shower with perfect amount of water pressure. One thing you will notice is that in the hallways and lobby areas they are pumping a scent through the ventilation system. While I found it very nice others may be turned off by it. Overall it was a good hotel in a great location.

Melissa Marie: Great hotel location and close to major tourist areas and shopping. Room was a little dirty in places, but nothing major. The bathroom mirror still had water spots. Desk was dusty and chair had crumbs in it. The shower head was not adjustable and shoots straight out instead of downward. You may not get told at check in what the amenity fee includes. If you ask, they will give you a paper, so you will know what you are entitled to. There is a Starbucks and restaurant inside the hotel. Hotel serves breakfast for free if you are a high level Hyatt member or you can pay for it. The gift shop offers a variety of items, not just souvenirs. Self parking garage is also connected to hotel. It costs $45/day with no in and out privileges. Valet is $62/day, but does include unlimited in and out. The garage elevator goes straight up to hotel lobby. The Metro station is in basement area of hotel and easily accessible to get to and from hotel. Staff was super friendly.

R. Michael Burns: I really liked my room here -- modern yet cozy, with comfy beds and a cool view into the lovely atrium. Huge TV, cute little mini-fridge with a window so you're somewhat less likely to forget things in it. The bathroom was very spacious, not the claustrophobic closet you so often get, and the shower was easy to adjust, something else I've found is not always true. There was a little confusion checking in because of how my school was paying for the rooms, but the front desk staff were very pleasant and helpful and did a great job of resolving the issue. Every interaction I had with the front desk staff was friendly and efficient -- great hospitality. There are also enough elevators to serve the place effectively even when it's busy, which may seem like a small thing, but if you have ever stayed in a large hotel without enough elevators, you know what a huge inconvenience it can be. The hotel is also a very short walk from Chinatown, the convention center, various Smithsonian buildings, and the National Mall, as well as plenty of good restaurants. My only tiny complaints are that the elevators are all at one end of the atrium, and my room was at the exact opposite end, so it was a bit of a walk to my room or the elevators every time I went out. That, and there's a strangely small number of channels available on the hotel's cable service, but those are pretty minor things compared to all the good stuff. The hotel isn't cheap, but if you can afford it, it's worth it. I'd stay again without hesitation.

Nene W.: I spent Christmas night at Grand Hyatt Washington this year. It was my second time with them and I had a wonderful time! The staffs were really nice and helpful. If you like to drink and chill, don’t forget to check out their bar. The room was clean and comfortable. Plus, they also have the best breakfast which is available from 7-10am. I will definitely go back to this hotel more often. It was a great experience!

RITA LIN: We had a wonderful stay. The staff were so polite, nice, respectful, friendly and accommodating. The only concern we had was, wishing the vent in the bathroom would have been stronger. The mirrors would fog up easily during a hot shower even with the door open. Over all though , a very relaxing stay, we will return once we are back in town. Thank you!

Hampus Engstroem: Make sure to use ʜoᴛᴇʟʙoʟʟʏ.ᴄᴏm when booking any resort. This site will compare countless booking web sites and typically will have rooms a lot cheaper than others! Thank me later on! This resort is one of the highest rated in the area. I have been coming here for years. If you stay for a few days you definitely will love it I'm sure! Great hotel location and close to major tourist areas and shopping. Room was a little dirty in places, but nothing major. The bathroom mirror still had water spots. Desk was dusty and chair had crumbs in it. The shower head was not adjustable and shoots straight out instead of downward. You may not get told at check in what the amenity fee includes. The garage elevator goes straight up to hotel lobby. The Metro station is in basement area of hotel and easily accessible to get to and from hotel. Staff was super friendly.

Kim Nguyen: The Grand Hyatt is located near Chinatown and it’s extremely convenient for us to get around. We were able to walk everywhere during our stay. The online check-in process was easy and quick. I was able to request for early check-in and got our room by 12pm instead of 3pm. That was definitely a plus in my book. The hotel lobby was really massive and beautifully designed. During our stay, there was a medical conference. It was busier than usual and we had to wait some time for the elevator. Our room is across from the Sax restaurant and lounge, so it was really loud at night. There were a lot of honking, screaming, and car noise. Overall, it was a good stay for us. Oh, they also have a Starbucks right inside the hotel.

Casey Meyer: Beautiful modern interior hall with an awesome chandelier. Front desk was extremely nice, and the gentleman who helped us get our luggage in was beyond courteous. Rooms are typical- nothing special, not that that's a bad thing. Little decals on each of the walls in every room is a cool addition.

Doug Gwilliam: First time in DC for a weekend getaway found me booking 4 nights at the Grand Hyatt. The hotel lobby is stunning and mesmerizing to look at. The location is amazing even with a Metro stop right off the lobby! The National Mall is a 12 minute walk. Everything else is pretty average. This hotel has a "destination fee" which is just another way to get money out of customers, taking a page from Marriott Hotels. Among other things, the $20 DAILY fee, includes water and a Metro card. The Metro card is worth $3 and I had to ask for it at check in. The employee didn't know what it was and had to go ask. You pay the $20 fee DAILY, yet you only get one $3 Metro card per stay. We stayed 4 nights and would have expected 4 x $3 on the Metro card. Nope. As a Globalist, most everything else included with the fee is already included, which is probably why Globalists get the fee waived. Still, very silly to even have the fee. Oh, it also includes a Wine Magazine in your room! Who wouldn't want to pay $20 a day for that! If I didn't get the fee waived, I would have asked for it to be waived as it provides very little. We had access to the club lounge, which is where this hotel served the breakfast and evening snacks for Globalists as well. Having been used to having breakfast in the dining room usually, this would be our first club lounge to use for breakfast. The breakfast was a pretty good spread with yogurt, fruit, scrambled eggs (although very runny), bacon, toast and a few other items. Although pretty good, there was no variety - every morning was the same. No pancakes, waffles, no difference. Breakfast in the dining room definitely would have been better. The same happened for the evening snacks. Salad, meatballs, pasta, sliders - pretty substantial, but no variety day to day. If you're staying 1 night, the breakfast and evening snacks would be great. The Grand Hyatt offered no globalist recognition. At most of my other hotel stays, I got an email about a week before, asking me if there was anything I needed for my stay and welcoming me. Nothing. When I checked in, I saw in the app there was an upgraded room available, but when I asked at the front desk, I was told it wasn't available. The room was average, nothing special. What made this hotel work so well, is the location. So easy to catch the Metro - with an entrance right in the hotel lobby (only open weekdays though), otherwise, you just walk outside half a block. You can also walk to just about everywhere else, with the National Mall being a 12 minute walk. Overall, the stay was pretty average, but made for a good home base for everything we wanted to do.

Haresh Joshi: I must say that it was a pleasure being taken care of by Alyce. She is the best. Every time I was there, I couldn't help but wonder how she takes care of every single guest with that smile and enthusiasm. She went above and beyond in ensuring everyone got what they wanted. Personally for me, I wanted croissants and they were gone when I went. She made sure they were delivered to my room. I was just amazed :) Thanks once again to all your front desk and Alyce. They are your assets.

Holiday Inn Washington Capitol - Natl Mall, an IHG Hotel: what do users think?

Wei Y: My recent experience at the hotel in mid March was quite pleasant. The room was clean, decor was fairly up-to-date, beds were comfortable (subjectively), and the bathroom was fairly well maintained. The staff were very accommodating and friendly, this includes the cleaning crew (on the 8th floor) who would give you anything you asked for. The pandemic is not over yet, so I liked the idea of not having staff coming in every day. People complaint about the thin wall, water pressure and the train. I did experience all of the above. The thin wall didn’t bother me that much, it’s usually due to loud neighbors. For the water pressure, I just waited for the others to finish their use then take my turn, the place was packed at the time and everyone was taking shower at the same time. As for the train, the hotel unfortunately situated right next to the track so unless you are a heavy sleeper, the noises could bother some of the guests on the east side. We ended up switching to the other side and it was great! The food at the restaurant downstairs was also surprising. The taste and the price were comparable to the nearby places, if not cheaper. A Starbucks was also attached to the hotel but they do close somewhat early. As for the parking, we didn’t have a car, but once I parked at a hotel in downtown Chicago, it was over $100 a night. All in all, we enjoyed our stay and will stay again for sure!
Response: Wei Y, thank you for staying with us and taking the time to share your experience and feedback with us. We hope to see you again.

tabitha buono: Rooms were decent sized. Our beds and pillows were AMAZING! The air conditioning was very hard to control. We froze the entire time. Also our bathroom had a light out, and only 3 drawers for 2 adults in a double bed room? Had to stay on top of housekeeping too. You have to call down every morning if you want fresh towels, etc. Even with calling, they still forgot. With all that said, I'd stay again. The bed and pillows were AMAZING!
Response: Tabitha, thank you for staying with us. We are sorry that you had a challenge with your AC unit. We are sharing your comments with our staff to help us improve. We hope you will give us another try in the future. Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us.

Kelly Dias: Pros: Staff were friendly and pleasant. The bedding was clean. Shower head was high enough, temperature and pressure were good. Close proximity to the Capitol, National Mall, and museums. Cons: AC wasn't working on arrival, but maintenance was able to get it back on line. Insufficient towels and only conditioner in bathroom (no shampoo). Room was not served by housekeeping between first and second night, which meant no fresh towels. Bathroom toilet paper holder was partially detached from wall. AC unit had exposed wiring. Connecting door for the suite had a loose handle that meant that we couldn't fully close it without fear of being trapped. The front desk only answered calls half of the time (2 out of 4 attempts). The breakfast fare at the restaurant was very expensive and not the highest quality. Walls are paper-thin, so I got to listen to the couple in a nearby room argue at the top of their lungs well into the night. Unfortunately, there was a music festival in town, so they closed the on-site coffee shop. Streets were blocked for blocks in each direction, so no access for Uber or cabs. In order the get to local attractions, we had to walk 4-6 blocks out of the way to get around.
Response: Kelly, thank you for choosing our property. We appreciate your feedback and are sorry to hear that you experienced a few challenges during your visit. We hope that you will give us another try in the future.

Joe Hughes: We were so excited to come to Washington D.C. for vacation. I have stayed at Holiday Inn's before and never experienced anything like we did here. Nothing seemed to work. The elevators were not working properly and one day not at all. We wanted to do some laundry and there was no change available and the soap dispenser was out of soap. I wasted a dollar since I didn't see the Out of Order sign that was placed on the side of the soap dispenser. The food downstairs in the café was horrible and it made my wife sick. The 21's amendment restaurant there was not much better. We wanted to buy soda and snacks and they wouldn't except cash. The rooms were cleaned every other day if that. The carpet was filthy and the desk chair was broke. On top of everything, Nobody knew anything when we ask for directions or where anything was. Apparently this Holiday Inn was just sold and in process of a new owner. That still doesn't make it right for this establishment to really put a damper on our vacation. We called security to stop all of the yelling and playing in the hall after 10 pm at night. Our floor was loaded with a group of kids and we finally had to go out there and tell the kids to quiet down. I would look at other options before coming here to stay, Murphy's Law applies here. "Anything that could go wrong will go wrong." I'm sorry that I have to post such a negative review but none the staff didn't make any effort to make our stay enjoyable.
Response: Joe, thank you for choosing to be our guest and taking the time to share your experience with us. We are sorry to hear that this visit was not as great as it could have been. We are using your feedback to improve our services. We are sorry that you left us on this note. We hope you will give us another try in the future.

M B: This was our first time staying at this hotel and it completely served its purpose. First the location - it is across the street from the department of Education and one block from the Air & Space Museum. There is a Starbucks on the corner of the hotel and several restaurants on the same block including a McDonalds. This hotel has a parking garage under it making parking very convenient. Parking fee is charged by the hotel per day and we had in and out privileges throughout our stay. There are two restaurants inside the hotel and a small convenience store next to the front desk. The lobby is more upscale than I thought it would be and staff was nice. We got into our room the first night later in the evening and our AC wasn’t working. We called the front desk and within minutes, a maintenance worker was at our door. He changed out the wall thermostat which didn’t resolve the issue and called for assistance to bring a new AC unit. They changed that out within minutes and discovered that there must be a wiring challenge that would take more time to resolve. They contacted the front desk, got us a new room and they walked it to make sure it was in perfect working condition before bringing us the new key cards. They offered to help us move but we were fine getting ourselves to the new room. This was the only challenge we experienced during our stay and these two maintenance technicians were absolutely wonderful. We forgot to get their names but they were on duty Friday, May 20, 2022 in the late evening. Nothing is a short walk in Washington DC as buildings are huge and the distance is deceiving. Every day we walked more than 7 miles and at the end of each day I walked back to the hotel to pick up the car to pick up my Mom to keep her from having to walk back. All throughout Washington DC, there are bicycles and electric scooters available to rent electronically on the spot to make the walking shorter and to get places quicker. We didn’t use them this time but they are a great benefit if needed. We did not eat in the hotel, but it is wonderful that the restaurants were there if we wanted to. This is a pretty perfect hotel to stay in when visiting Washington DC and we will most likely stay here on our next visit and recommend that you consider it as well. We didn’t take photos of the hotel, but it was very nice, clean, comfortable beds and we felt safe.
Response: M B, thank you for choosing to be our guest. We appreciate your feedback and are delighted to know that you had a great stay. We appreciate your feedback and will be sure to share your comments and feedback with the team. We hope to see you again, next time you are in the area.

Hilton Garden Inn Washington DC/U.S. Capitol: what do users think?

Matthew Hall: Really liked this hotel. Staff was great and the room was better than average. I appreciate the barkeep who was very professional and kept me entertained while we sat and had a cocktail. Rose was very attentive and made our check-in process easy. Valet was very spotty with the service, maybe they need more than 1 person certain times a day. The hot tub wasn't working when we arrived but was up and running before I left. Pool was a little cold but refreshing. I will definitely be staying again. This is the ideal location for those visiting DC.

Siobhan Walker: My stay was amazing. My room was spacious and so clean. The front desk was polite, helpful and very professional. Octavia was awesome. She was most helpful because the hotel I had a current reservation for had canceled my reservation and I had to make a reservation here last minute. She provided me the most outstanding customer service possible even with my frustration from the other hotel. Any questions I had was answered and my stay was relaxing. I definitely recommend this hotel to anyone.

g watson: Customer service here is EXCELLENT. Very friendly staff - extra praise to the office manager, Reina Munoz and guest agent Janay! Hilton - you should recognize this location and their staff, they go above and beyond their call to make guests feel welcomed and comfortable. All hotel/hospitality should take this location as the example for service. The rooms are clean, and quite comfortable and roomy - this hotel is conveniently located, just a short walk from Union Station. I was here for business and I was delightfully surprised for the work space and seating area. I was also happy to learn their fitness center is open 24hrs...with my stay being business in nature - it is difficult for me to get a work out in at most places, due to the limited hours fitness centers are available. 100% recommend the US CAPITOL location. If you want to feel welcomed and comfortable, stay here!

Angela Baca: The air conditioning in our room never worked even after they had someone come and fix it. The elevator stopped on every floor. The pool was available but it was foggy and couldn’t see the bottom of the pool because of this. Burned my kids eyes and mine. This hotel is older and not maintained well by Hilton. There are no fans in the bathroom so if you take a hot shower your whole hotel room fills with steam. The people are nice and it is located near a metro. Those are the only two things that are good about this hotel. Only stay here unless you just can’t find anywhere else to stay.
Response: Hi Angela Baca - We are sorry we did not live up to our high standards of exceeding expectations. Thanks for taking the time to provide your candid feedback regarding your experience with Hilton Garden Inn Washington DC/U.S. Capitol. Please reach out to us at https://help.hilton.com/s/contactsupport so that we can investigate further and make this right.

Natalie Martin: The staff was nice and did what they could, but the hotel was overwhelmed and not well maintained. It is unequipped to have more than 1-2 guests arriving or departing at the same time. It also has intentionally inadequate air conditioning. I have stayed at Hiltons in other cities that also have valet only parking. They’ve all had a driveway to pull in and unload your vehicle. This one has only a small shoulder that a maximum of 2 cars can pull into. Everyone else has to just stop in the middle of a busy street. There were no luggage carts when we arrived, left or had to move rooms on the second night. Other guests also told us that there were no luggage carts when they arrived. On the first night the room was consistently hot though we could hear the AC cut on and off. After coming to look at it twice, the maintenance man determined that the compressor in our room was broken so we were moved to a new room (again no luggage cart, we had a lot of stuff as we were traveling with a toddler). The maintenance man explained that the AC units are motion activated so guests will always return to a hot room and it will always get hot in the middle of the night so that’s why it took him so long to figure out that ours was actually broken. This seems incredibly stingy for a Hilton (in addition to being illogical as it takes more energy to cool a hot room than it does to simply maintain temperature). Stay here only if you are a single traveler with one suitcase and don’t mind an 80 degree room overnight and when you return after being out of the room. Other reviews mention how slow the elevator is, that is also true.
Response: Hi Natalie Martin - We are sorry we did not live up to our high standards of exceeding expectations. Thanks for taking the time to provide your candid feedback regarding your experience with our service and amenities. Please reach out to us at https://help.hilton.com/s/contactsupport so that we can look into this further. We look forward to making things right.

Geoffrey D: Parking valet lane is terribly short. Stains on the comforter. Breakfast included not properly advertised on elevator or through hotel. Laid out of first floor is very awkward, why have steps instead of escalator to second floor. Front desk staff were superb. All throughout the stay they were informative, helpful, positive and available! Wait for valet was not long at all, which was surprising. Minor issues, overall decent stay.

David: Very nice hotel - staff were very friendly and attentive to our needs. The Manager greeted us as we were leaving and just make the stay complete. Nice pool and restaurant - special call out Kevon our waiter for one of our evening meals. Great place to stay - close to a metro stop as well.

Sassy Sauce: The hotel is pretty decent. It met all of our basic needs. It was as clean as I think it should be but the rest of my party felt it was ok. Parking can be a little challenging in the area but we managed. The front desk staff were pleasant and very helpful. I would go back if I needed to.

Chippy McLain: Guest services here should be renamed "guest hassles." Checking in and checking out were lengthy, frustrating ordeals. Paid valet parking was ineffective, slow, and overpriced--and apparently the only option. Showers were inconsistent, with cold winning two out of the three mornings we stayed. One of the two elevators was broken leading to overstuffed rides with no option of social distancing as well as long delays in the lobby. The spa had a new twist: a hot tub colder than the pool. I had hoped for a classy, Hilton experience for my family. I wish I had stayed at a Motel 6. I am thankful that I saw no rats inside the hotel. There were plenty just outside the front door; I assume due to the construction and vagrant tents across the street. This section of DC has some big rats. My littlest did think these were cool; my wife, not so much.

J Cole: Great hotel. It is a very short walk to the Metro Red Train No Ma Stop to get anywhere in DC for just a 2 dollar fare on the weekends. The area also has a great brewery "red bear brewing company" which is very close by. The hotel also has a bar that looked pretty nice. The breakfast is hit or miss for me but it's as expected for other Hilton Garden Inns.

Park Hyatt Washington D.C.: what do users think?

Patrick Hill: Excellent all around. First off, the location is perfect, tucked away from K Street and close to Rock Creek making it more of a quiet location relative to other parts of the city. The building, lobby etc all look very new, clean and crisp. The room itself was large, modern and had a very comfortable bed. We had one of the Junior Suite with the half bath. It was a great deal using Hyatt Points and paying $100 for the upgrade over a standard room. Enjoyed arriving to fresh cookies as well from the staff. Very nice touch. My one gripe with many Hyatt properties is the pocket door for main bathrooms however the pocket door at the Park Hyatt was substantial and allowed for more privacy. We had both dinner and breakfast room service and both meals were fantastic, delivered on time and well worth the price. I assume everything was cooked from Blue Duck Tavern which has rave reviews. I did not have the opportunity to check out the pool or fitness center, but can only imagine those facilities are top notch. Finally the staff were all friendly and polite. The service like that matters. I look forward to returning again soon.
Response: Greetings Patrick Hill, Thank you very much for taking the time to review our hotel; we appreciate that! We are very happy to hear how much you enjoyed your stay with us and we can't wait to welcome you back again very soon. Best Regards, Donna

Chris Turner: This was our first time staying at the Park Hyatt and it was a wonderful experience. The moment we arrived, the bellhop Jorge, gave us a warm welcome and helped us unload our luggage and four young kids. When we checked in, our room did not have a great view so they upgraded us to the Georgetown Suite and it was phenomenal! The room was gorgeous, spacious, and comfortable. The room service was delicious, especially the breakfast. When we were ready to check out, Jorge once again warmly greeted us and helped us bring our luggage down and load it into our car. I know it can be hard to work on Christmas, but the staff were cheerful and warm. We will definitely stay here again the next time we are in DC.
Response: Chris Turner, We are delighted to hear that your stay met all of your expectations. We will make sure that we let Jorge know that you gave him a rave review as well. We hope to see you again in the near future! Tonia

Doug Gwilliam: My flights got changed which gave me an extra night in DC and I already had another (Grand) Hyatt booked, so I only needed one additional night. Park Hyatt was available at a good rate, so I decided to book the one night. I got an email from the general manager about a week ahead of time asking for any additional needs or items I might need. Upon checking, which was very late due to delayed flights, the front desk staff was so professional and happy to see me and help me with anything. As a Globalist, I was told my room had been upgraded, which was a very nice gesture. Upon arriving to my room, it was so nice and roomy. I had a personalized note from the manager and some chocolates. The bed was the most comfortable bed I've slept in for a long time and the huge rain shower in the huge bathroom was so relaxing. Overall, the stay was fantastic and I wish I would have booked more nights at the Park, as my experience my other (Grand) for the remaining 4 nights of my trip, was not as nice.
Response: Dear Doug Gwilliam, Thank you for taking time to let us know about your experience. We are delighted to hear our staff were so professional and friendly. We truly appreciate your loyalty as one of our Globalist and we are glad we could show our gratitude by upgrading your room. It is excellent to hear the bed was most comfortable and the rain shower relaxing. We are overjoyed you had a fantastic stay with us and we hope to welcome you back the next time you are in DC! Warmest regards, Tonya

Mariya K: Good hotel but I expected more from a five star hotel. The front desk staff was friendly except one black man he was a bit rude. Also they should clean their carpet in the front as the first impression when you walk in leaves a feeling of a dirty place. I stayed in a suit and it was nice and had everything you need. The only thing they need to change armchairs as those have old school shrunk covers. I decided to make a reservation for a dinner at the Blue Duck tavern which was recommended by the front desk and I was told they had a Michelin star. I’ve been to Michelin stars restaurants before so I had some high expectations. But the restaurant disappointed me a little bit. First there was a little confusion where the host station was. When I walk in there’s a bar in the front and I told I had a reservation and a barman told I could seat anywhere the I walked further and saw a hostess. I was by myself and they had plenty of empty tables. It was an hour and a half before they close. But they decided to seat me in a totally empty area which I didn’t like even though I asked to seat at the different area which had empty tables. The hostess asked a waiter but he refused. I ordered a cocktail and after sipping I noticed the glass was all dirty which is unacceptable in any restaurant but especially at the restaurant with a Michelin star. The food was tasty. When I received a check I expected they would take that cocktail out of the bill or offer me a discount which they didn’t. So I left with a bitter aftertaste. No wonder why they didn’t receive a star from Michelin for the past years. The service leaves much to be desired.
Response: Hello Kalashnik, Thank you for taking the time to leave your feedback on your recent stay. We appreciate all the feedback we can get about our guests' experiences. Please allow me to apologize for the less than perfect Hyatt experience. Your feedback has been shared with our entire management team, and we will evaluate ways to improve our operation. Again we appreciate your concerns and we will consider your comments while making changes. Thank you for choosing Hyatt. Best, Anisa

Vivian Cheng: Great hotel. Got a junior suite, which was spacious and comfortable. Good lighting in the room too. It was clean and well-maintained. Not a lot of street noise, which is always a bonus. Amenities are nice. Shower pressure is low, but the shower is spacious. Note: Blue Duck Tavern is worth a visit. Also, hotel is about 7 minutes from the Foggy Bottom metro stop.
Response: Greetings Vivian Cheng, Thank you for taking the time to review our hotel and giving us a 5 star rating. We really appreciate that. Very sorry to hear about the water pressure in the shower. this information has been communicated to our team to be addressed. I would agree that the Blue Duck Tavern is worth a visit. We can't wait to welcome you back to the Park Hyatt Washington D.C very soon. Best Regards, Donna

Frederick E Stidam Jr: Great customer service from the manager Mr.Cho ,the valet team, house keeping, and front desk staff. 👏 . Any and everyone we interacted with with was friendly and professional. The room clean spacious and comfortable. This location perfect for access to great dining and fun dining.
Response: Hello There Frederick, Thank you so much for taking the time to leave your feedback on your recent stay. We are overjoyed that our staff at the hotel provided great customer service, we appreciate your kind comments. We are glad to hear we met cleanliness and comfort expectations. We hope to be able to welcome you back soon! Kind Regards, Anisa

Peter Luu: I stayed here March 5th - March 7th, 2022. The front desk was very helpful, with the door attendants proactively asking if I needed help with luggage. Service felt personal - I had emailed with the hotel prior to arriving and asked for recommendations and they provided a list of things to do, plus accommodated my requests for some small toiletries in the room. The room itself and decor of the hotel was luxurious and felt comfortable. The Park Hyatt branding, "Luxury is Personal", felt well-delivered here. I also ate at the attached restaurant, Blue Duck Tavern, and had some of the best duck and desserts of my life. While the location is not situated downtown, it is still relatively easy to get to places and makes a great vacation. Out of the many hotels I've stayed at, the incredible level of care to detail has not been matched by any other hotel. I highly recommend it for a positive experience.
Response: Hello Peter Luu, Thank you so much for sharing your stay experience with us. We really appreciate it. We are glad that your stay met your expectations and that you felt our personal service during your time here. Thank you for your patronage and we hope to see you again soon. Tonia

Sek Eun John Lee: My wife, our 20-month-old son, and I thoroughly enjoyed our experience at Park Hyatt Washington DC. Staff members were welcoming and professional. Our suite was widely-spaced and gave our family much-needed privacy. Food via room service from Blue Duck Tavern was delicious. Location of the hotel was amazing given its proximity to Georgetown and Dupont Circle. We will definitely stay here again.
Response: Hello Sek Eun John Lee, Thank you for providing your feedback on your recent stay. We are glad you enjoyed your stay with us here at the Park Hyatt Washington D.C. We are glad you enjoyed your room and the food we had to offer. We hope to welcome you back soon again! Kind Regards, Anisa

Adam Wilton: This was my first stay at a Park Hyatt property and I wasn’t sure what to expect, but I had an amazing stay and it is now one of my favorite hotels/brands. The service is excellent with the front desk staff being super friendly and professional - some of the best service I have ever experienced at a hotel. The room was very nice and clean with high end amenities and finishes. Since I booked through AMEX’s FHR program, I received a $100 property credit which I was able to use for room service at the Blue Duck Tavern which had excellent food - truly some of the best food I’ve ever had. Unfortunately there is only valet parking available so I just parked at a George Washington University parking ramp which was much cheaper, but the hotel is actually quite reasonably priced and rivaled some much more expensive 5-star hotels I’ve stayed at. Overall, the Park Hyatt brand shocked me on how nice it is, and I intend to visit more properties in the portfolio when I travel.
Response: Dear Adam Wilton, We are thrilled to be the first Park Hyatt you have stayed with! It is fantastic to hear you had an amazing stay and is now one of your favorite hotels/brand. We are pleased our service was excellent and the front desk staff were super friendly and professional. We are overjoyed that it was some of the best service you have ever experienced! It is wonderful your room was very nice and clean and you enjoyed our Blue Duck Tavern. We are ecstatic it is some of the best food you have ever had! Thank you for the insight on parking and on pricing. We are truly honored you will be visiting more Park Hyatts and will look forward to your next visit with us! Warmest regards, Tonya

Harlen Smith: It is late June 2022 and this hotel is pretending it is June 2020. Except that they are charging 2022 prices while providing 2020 deep covid level services. Tgd staff are great, but there’s no real room service, no minibar, no spa, the pool is closed. The only food available on site is from the Michelin starred restaurant downstairs, which is only open for a few brief windows per day. Breakfast is normal, but lunch and dinner are over wrought and over rich. Not something you can eat multiple days in a row. I paid $800/night to stay in a mid sized suite with my 5 year old. We pay that kind of money because we want access to good food in our room while traveling. Park Hyatt DC did not deliver on that. It’s also about a decade past due for a renovation, but I would have been fine with that if they weren’t pulling a covid service con. Do not stay here until they get their ish together. Even then, management of this hotel has proven that their judgement cannot be trusted. So maybe just don’t ever stay here.
Response: Dear Harlen Smith, Thank you for the feedback. I am sorry to hear you did not enjoy your stay with us . We appreciate the insight on our guest rooms and our food options, as we recover from the impacts of Covid -19. We value your feedback to make improvements. Thank you for staying with us and we hope to have the chance to provide a better experience in the future. Aneshia

Hyatt Regency Washington On Capitol Hill: what do users think?

Maureen Jackson: Staff were beyond friendly and always smiling. Made our stay very enjoyable. Rooms were clean and so quiet. The restaurant was awesome from the breakfast to dinner. We ate a few times in restaurant and the wait staff remembered us and made it very homey. Quality of food was excellent. Never had a bad meal. Best hotel experience for us in a long time. Within easy walking distance of the mall
Response: Hello Maureen, We are glad the staff made your stay enjoyable, that is just wonderful! We are happy your experience staying with us was the best hotel experience you have had in a long time. Thank you for your kind comments they are truly appreciated, we hope to welcome you back soon! Best Regards, Anisa

Lisa Van Aartsen: Service excellent, rooms clean, like the efficiency yet stylish way it is styled. Lights too bright in the bathroom and unable to decrease. Used a bath towel over the light to dim it down. Would be nice to have bottles of water in room to go with coffee maker... right? Grab and go currently for meals at the restaurant. Not much for choices. Very nice store including Starbucks coffee, very appreciative of that. Sheets very smooth, pleasant, bed comfy, could be better, could be worse. Nicely located. Will go again.
Response: Hello Lisa, Thank you for taking the time to leave your feedback on your recent stay with us. We do apologize for any inconvenience the lights in the bathroom may have caused you. We are glad you thought the bed was comfortable and happy to hear you liked the location. We value our guests' insights and feedback so we can improve our operations. We hope to welcome you back soon! Best, Anisa

Jeff Ery: Room was awful. Beds were super soft and the room temp was set at 65 but I felt as hot as fish grease in lent. Woke up in a sweat every night. Location was awesome though. Breakfast was good too. Bar has stiff drinks. The room though.... Yech.
Response: Evening Jeff Ery, Thank you for the honest feedback of your stay. We appreciate all guest comments and feedback. We are working on making changes and will be updating our hotel in the near future. Glad that overall other than the room, your stay was enjoyable. Tonia

Brendan Williams: Location, location, location. And don't they know it! In all the years I have stayed there for conferences it feels like only the lobby has been updated. Rest of the property is very dated. Careful in adjusting your shower head that you don't pull it out of the wall. But your room will be clean, and, again, location.
Response: Evening Brandan Williams, We appreciate and respect all guest comments and feedback. We also appreciate you taking the time to share your experience with us. Thank you for continuing to patronize our property. We are working on having renovations done in the near future. Tonia

Kim Jensen: We had a wonderful stay and everyone was so friendly. If I ever go back to DC this is where I would stay again. Word of warning, make sure you know what direction you're heading when you leave the hotel. In one direction you get some pretty bad vibes and have some shady characters that'll start following you. And the other direction there's a wonderful shopping and restaurants and all the tourists spots. The hotel was lovely and we appreciated our stay.
Response: Hello Kim Jensen, Thank you for your kind review! I'm so glad that you had such a wonderful experience at our hotel. We appreciate your feedback and thank you for your tips for other future guests. We are flattered that you choose to stay at our hotel for future visits to DC. We can't wait to welcome you back! Best Regards, Toya

Brenda Orffer: The Hyatt Regency is a great location for easy access to capital buildings (meetings), great food and restaurants, and to DCA Airport. Right now, April 1, the hotel is not offering room service, and housekeeping is not provided unless requested. Otherwise, things seem to be all systems go. Masks are encouraged but not required. The hotel has hand sanitizer stations throughout as well. The desk and office chair in the rooms are not well matched for height. Very uncomfortable seating for a long period of time. Thankfully there is lots of lobby and social space to find a place to work more comfortably. There is a small fridge in the room, but no water is stocked in the room. You can get bottled water from front desk and valet desk if you request it.
Response: Dear Brenda Orffer, Thank you for the feedback on your visit. We are happy you enjoyed our convenient location to the nearby restaurants and the airport. We appreciate the insight on our desks in the guest rooms and are pleased you were able to use the space in our lobby area to work comfortable. Thank you for staying with us and we hope to welcome you back soon! Warm regards, Tonya

Melissa Lutz: Nice hotel near the Capitol. Room was not huge but was comfortable. A little pricey, but the location was very convenient to the Mall. Don't park at the hotel...you can park for a third the cost at Colonial Parking Garage around the corner. Staff were all very nice and accommodating.Would stay here again.
Response: Hello Melissa Lutz, Thank you for leaving us a review. I'm happy to hear that you enjoyed your stay with us. It's always great to hear that our staff were all friendly and helpful. We appreciate the parking tip. I hope that you will stay with us again soon! Best Regards, Toya

Capital Hilton: what do users think?

Daniel Lopez: Excellent service! Loved this hotel and will definitely come back if I go to DC again. Well kept and clean. I only wish the bed sheets were a little different. Mine felt itchy at times. But that could also be due to how my skin reacts to cold weather. Honestly everything was so perfect that I can't find something to complain about. The bar/restaurant at the entrance is open till midnight. Makes it great to hang when you don't want to go out again after a day of sightseeing.
Response: Thank you for choosing to stay with us at Capital Hilton. It was wonderful to read your review! I was so happy to hear your Capital Hilton visit was so enjoyable, that our Statler Lounge provided the respite you needed. We are pleased that you returned home with many happy memories of your time with us. Our team does strive to deliver the very highest levels of personalized service to all of our guests, and I am so delighted we achieved this and you enjoyed all of the small touches that make a stay with us so special. Thank you again for sharing your experience and we very much look forward to warmly welcoming you back again to Capital Hilton in the near future. Regards, Stefan M., GM

Emily C.: I’m glad we stayed in this hotel. Greeted by a staff work at the front desk and we were able to check in a little bit early. Very nice and friendly guy. We got a surprise the room was bigger than we thought and it was clean, we felt so welcome. The bed and sheets were clean and comfortable__that’s important when you are traveling. Great location easy to get to the places that we planted to visit. Thanks again!
Response: Dear Emily, We are overjoyed that we played a part in ensuring a perfect weekend stay where your expectations were exceeded, where our facilities impeccably maintained, where you were treated to meaningful and extraordinary hospitality! We are honoured that we will once again enjoy the opportunity of hosting you. Welcome to our Capital Hilton extended family! Kind regards, Paolo P., GM

blue Star: This is an older hotel that felt clean to me. I read some of the reviews and was very concerned about our stay but I must say our short 2-night stay was pain free. The room was big enough, clean, no smells or dirty carpet. The furniture had some minor dings and such but did not detract. The location was great for walking around and we felt safe. All the employees were pleasant and professional and seemed happy to be working there.
Response: Hello blue Star, Thanks for the awesome review! We are thrilled that you enjoyed your stay with us. I was so pleased that you had such a special time, and were made to feel welcome by the team. They really do take the greatest care to make sure each and every guest has the most special "Capital Hilton" experience and leaves with happy memories of their time with us. We hope to see you again soon! Regards, Paolo P., GM

Jeffrey Vicente: Friendly staff and professional with high quality service and attention to details as expected to Hilton. Rooms are big, spacious and comfortable compared to nearby hotels with same/similar rates. Great location also near at restaurants, White house and capitol. Will definitely come back to this hotel if I go to DC again.
Response: Hello Jeffrey, Ensuring our guests receive friendly and efficient service is of the utmost importance to us. We hoped that you would have a phenomenal experience with the most attentive and anticipatory service and culinary delights. Our location holds a wealth of opportunities to engage and explore and is easily accessible to the best attractions of our region so we are pleased you had a chance to enjoy that. Please do come see us again soon. We enjoyed hosting you! Best, Stefan M., GM

Eric Green: Diamond member review: Location was great. Hotel is nice, front door/valet staff very kind and welcoming. Bell staff and front desk, not so. I did not have to interact with either, that frequently, only when I had questions which were (in my opinion) handled rather rudely. Room was cozy, very quiet stay.. definitely more so than any other Hilton I can recall recently. Someone complained about privacy but that can be solved by simply drawing the blackout curtains. I had an issue with my shower overflowing in the tub… like maybe too much hair or something keeping water in tub. Minor housekeeping issue, half empty bottle of body wash.. no soap to be found anywhere. Meh. So.so
Response: Dear Eric, Thank you for your review and rating! You’ve brought up so many important points, both ups, and downs from your trip, and we truly appreciate your observations. Many aspects of your experience certainly do not meet our standards, and if given the opportunity, we would have taken measures to address every concern while you were staying with us. Our hospitality is executed by professionals who take your feedback seriously, and will continue to work towards creating a thoughtful and comfortable experience for all of our guests, We would welcome the opportunity to have you back and provide you a stay you deserve and expect. Regards, Paolo P., General Manager

Dee26: I had to switch rooms 3 times. The Ac was not working, the bathtub was clog, they used a safety pin to hold the shower curtain. The towels were dingy. Not what I Expected from This hotel. However I need to thank Theresa who Was Very nice and did everything possible to Resolve my issues. She provided excellent service. I also Want to State the porters provide excellent service.
Response: Hello Dee26, Thank you very much for taking the time to share the details of your recent Capital Hilton stay. Please accept my apologies for the issues experienced. This is certainly not an example of the service we aim to offer and we certainly share your disappointment. Rest assured that your comments will be discussed internally and every measure will be taken to make sure there is no re-occurrence of the experience you described. It was a pleasure having you stay with us. I am pleased that Theresa's stellar service was so appreciated, and I truly hope we have the opportunity to welcome you back in a near future. Regards, Paolo P., GM

Ruth G: Old hotel, needs a renovation. Sound proofing is bad. Staff is very nice. The safe in my room was out of order. Good beds. No restaurant on the premise.unlike what the manager says, I was a guest, room 431. The north grill was for breakfast, the Statler grill served only drinks was very loud and not the place to have dinner. How do you treat a guest like this with your response. From 4* to 3*.
Response: Hi Ruth, We have two wonderful, highly rated restaurants on premises - North Gate Grill and The Statler Lounge. It seems that perhaps you were not a patron of our Capital Hilton. However, we would be honored to host your next visit to Washington DC. We have a wonderful team of employees who really put their whole heart into their work here and, we are the perfect base from which to enjoy Washington D.C. Safe travels and we hope to welcome you soon. Regards, Paolo P., GM

Shad Kearns: Beautiful Hilton Hotel. The breakfast is great they offer a breakfast buffet. A lot of people say the hotel needs remodeling but I think it's in great shape. The location is the best, you walk outside the hotel you can see the White House. We stayed at the Conrad hilton before coming to the Capital Hilton an I think this hotel is just as good as the Conrad if not better. This location is central to restaurants and attractions. Highly recommend the Hilton Capital
Response: Dear Shad, Thank you! We were humbled by your review and it served as a wonderful reminder of why Capital Hilton really is a special place. For those of us who have the pleasure to work here, we are hugely proud to be part of its ongoing, illustrious history. Thank you for your review and we hope you will have the opportunity to return to our Capital Hilton again soon and enjoy some true hospitality, along with our convenient location. Kind regards, Paolo P., GM

Paula Penn: Mr. Frank Poku, Front Desk/Guest Service Agent was phenomenal. I arrived early, ahead of official check-in but he graciously handled everything. And while the original room assigned was lovely, I had some challenges with the layout. Again, Frank was extremely gracious and made the switch to another charming room effortless. Excellent customer service, yet another reason I love Hilton hotels!
Response: Hi Paula, I am so grateful to you for taking the time to leave such a positive review. Your wonderful compliments are praise indeed! We are so proud of Frank and the rest of our team, who assuredly keep our guests happy and well cared for. This recognition of their hard work means a great deal, so thank you again for sharing your experience and we hope to welcome you back to Capital Hilton in the future. Best, Paolo P., GM

Sophia Kaski: The room had a old cigarette smell and there was a big red stain on my sheets. There was no fridge. However the staff was really nice as well as the guest staying here this is definitely not a four star hotel. But it’s in walking distance to the White House and many more historic buildings.
Response: Hi Sophia Kaski - Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback and for staying with us. Please accept our apologies for your unpleasant experience. As the cleanliness of our hotel is a key priority, we are very sorry your room fell short of our high standards. Please rest assured that your comments have been shared to foster improvements. For this reason, we hope to have the opportunity to deliver a more pleasant experience on a return visit.

InterContinental the Willard Washington D.C., an IHG Hotel: what do users think?

Kelly McCarthy: Beautiful hotel. Tradition and old Washington charm surround you. Next to the White House. Built in 1918 there are so many beautiful details. Don’t miss the Famous round robin bar. Check in with seamless and the customer service was exceptional. The rooms are spotless and much of the staff has been here for generations. I highly recommend this hotel.

Hampus Engstroem: Make sure to use ʜoᴛᴇʟʙoʟʟʏ.ᴄᴏm when booking your hotel. This website will compare thousands of booking web sites and normally will have rates a lot cheaper compared to others! Thank me later on! This resort is one of the best in this area. I've been coming here for a very long time. If you stay for a few nights you definitely won't be let down. We spent the night here before the Easter egg roll at the white house. It was exceptional. Easy to get in everything was right up front. You do pay for a premium but due to the location it was well worth it. The room was clean and nice. We had the high tea and that was quite the experience. If you go during the Cherry blossom festival we have the option of drinking tea with the Cherry blossom cuttings and that was quite the experience. I would highly recommend this. We only had pastries and coffee from the cafe and they were good. It is a five-star hotel.

J Kazlauskas: The water for the toilet ran all night. The hair dryer did not work. There is a label on the room's small refrigerator stating you cannot use it for personal use unless you notified the hotel to come up to the room, empty their contents & let you use it. The valet parking, luggage handling, front lobby & cleaning staffs were very nice, friendly & fast. The lobby & outside premises were very nicely decorated for the Christmas season. Various groups performed caroling & jazz over the days we were staying there.

Hugh Shoff: We spent the night here before the Easter egg roll at the white house.

Catherine Petty: Tea was lovely!! Would recommend highly for any events you have coming up. The staff was great, very helpful and the food was delicious. Surprisingly filling for it being so small. They even offer gluten free options. The harpist was also a lovely touch - she played beautifully. Will be back, especially around Christmas time!

Jess S.: I stayed here for thanksgiving back in 2019 and had a bit of an issue with concierge… the issue has since been resolved and taken care of… and all in all the room service was good and the hotel smelled fine. The hotel is beautiful but in a vintage way but … Flash forward to Feb 2022, I walked into the hotel to use the facilities and even with my mask on I noticed the lobby and hallway to the had a strong musty odor like that distinct moisture damage odor not saying that the hotel has moisture damage…but it’s clearly old and smells as such…and is in need of a renovation While I will most likely will stay at the Intercontinental in DC again in the future it will definitely be at the newer location at the Wharf

S R Das: Disappointed to see that the service at this storied Washington DC hotel has fallen substantially. This was my first stay here since the pandemic started. At the middle of the day - a busy time - there was only 1 person at the front desk. She seemed unsure of what she was doing, calling repeatedly for advice. I was second in line and had to wait 20 minutes. The line, meanwhile, was growling. Even though people asked her to get help (a second person), she ignored that. I found out later she had overcharged me (100 dollars more on the credit card, she added the deposit.) Yesterday when I got in at 950 pm thanks to a delayed flight, the front desk said that the kitchen was open for 10 minutes and would take my order. In the restaurant, however, the waiter said no. All in all, a less than ideal experience. As the person behind me said, no longer a 5-star experience and doesn’t justify the steep price.

Cambria Hotel Washington, D.C. Convention Center: what do users think?

Chance Callahan: This was a mixed experience, but there were some major issues that led to my rating. Check-in was quick and the front desk staff was great. We got to our room, only to discover there was no hot water in the room. They quickly changed us to another room and the housekeeping supervisor was kind enough to help me with my luggage. When the supervisor and I got to the new room, we discovered there was no electricity going to that room. They quickly got us switched to a third room which was an upgrade from what we got originally, but that room didn't have any cold water. The housekeeping supervisor was able to repair the issue from outside the room, but despite the amazing effort from the staff to straighten everything out I can't in good conscience recommend this hotel to anyone when there are three major electrical and plumbing issues back to back. The hotel manager gave a verbal commitment to refund us for the stay though, so factoring in the good faith efforts from everyone involved to make sure we were treated fairly, I will give them a two star rating. Once the refund refund comes through we will update the review and rating.
Response: Dear Chance Callahan, Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback on your recent stay. I immediately became disheartened when reading your review. I’m sorry we didn’t provide the high-quality accommodations you expect and deserve when staying at a Cambria. What you experienced is not typical. Rest assured, your comments have been conveyed to upper management and will be addressed. Your satisfaction is important to us and we hope you’ll give us another opportunity to make your stay the best it can be. Best, Aaron Caple General Manager

April Carter: Staff was absolutely wonderful... at least the ones that I encountered and engaged with. The location was great and made walking easy. My room was just okay and didn't appear as clean as expected. The bed looked slept in and had a stain, but I was able to quickly get the bedding changed. The shower had stains and residue from previous users (shampoo, hair color, soap, etc) and felt sticky. The room was very spacious however. The noise level was minimal.
Response: Dear April Carter, We aim to impress, so I'm sorry that your visit was just okay. Your comments, which highlight some successes and areas for improvement, are welcomed as they foster change for the better. Thank you for taking the time to share your review. Sincerely, Aaron Caple General Manager

Amanda Fansler: Easy online reservation process. Room was clean and actually bigger than it looked in the online photos. Loved the modern look of the bathroom and the large shower. Bed was very comfortable. Hotel is in a very convenient and 'safe' location. Walking distance to may trendy bars, restaurants, and clubs. We were in town for a show at the 9:30 club, which is a few blocks away. Only reason I did not give 5 stars was the parking/valet situation. There was no one at the valet station when we drove by, but due to heave traffic volume we were unable to just stop in the middle of the road/intersection to go inside to get someone to help. Luckily our friends were in the lobby bar and were able to have someone meet us outside eventually (we had to circle the block a few times).
Response: Dear Amanda Fansler, Your feedback assists us in our mission to continuously improve our offerings and guest satisfaction, so we thank you for your time in reviewing our hotel. I’m happy to hear of the overall comfort you experienced while staying with us. Thank you for your feedback regarding our valet station; I have taken note. On behalf of our entire team, I thank you for choosing the Cambria Hotel Washington, D.C. Convention Center. Please visit us again soon. Best, Aaron Caple General Manager

e: I stayed at this hotel 5 years ago for a convention. I really liked it and decided to stay there for a vacation to DC. When I arrived I was told there that the restaurant would not be open for my entire stay. The hotel could have called me ahead of the stay to notify me of this development and give me the option to not stay there. One reason I picked the hotel was because as a solo traveler, I could easily get a meal especially at night. This ruined the vacation because I had to trek all over DC to find open restaurants. The pool was also closed although the website still advertises it as an amenity. The room was run down with broken furniture and a huge stain on the rug. I communicated all of this to multiple staff members and you think they would offer some sort of compensation for this, but no.
Response: Dear e, We desire to provide every guest with a pleasant stay, so I’m very sorry that we let you down this visit. We will continue to adjust our amenities with staffing levels are we move through the pandemic. We appreciate your review and hope to have the opportunity to deliver a more positive experience in the future. Thank you for staying with us. Sincerely, Aaron Caple General Manager

Brian Conklin: Be ready to get what you pay for.... Daytime staff are friendly, nighttime staff are a nightmare. Room wasn't ever cleaned well (floor wasn't vacuumed, bathroom was sketchy). The water in the shower is so hot it will peal the skin off your body - I want to the front desk 4 times in the course of a week asking they fix it - they never did. The morning server poured me a cup of coffee one morning, and when I asked her to put it on my room tab, so poured it in the sink rather than allow me to have it - stating quite strongly "We don't DO that anymore!!!" - I am sorry - but what the heck?!!! I can list a dozen times I had to just hold my breath, smile and walk away after being treated rudely, or just to have someone smile. write down my request and do nothing about it. This place is pretty run down. The upstairs deck (a real selling point for me) is a wasteland of stained, wet chairs, and no effort to make it a nice place to hang out and spend time. Lots of potential but about as poorly managed as any place I have ever stayed. I don't recommend it.
Response: Dear Brian Conklin, Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback on your recent stay. I immediately became disheartened when reading your review. Please accept my deepest apologies regarding the poor service you received and our lack of attention to detail. What you experienced is not typical. Rest assured, your comments have been conveyed to upper management and will be addressed. Again, thank you for your review and we hope to have the opportunity to provide a more pleasurable experience. Sincerely, Aaron Caple General Manager

Stacey Kay: Fairly clean room, super friendly staff, beautiful lobby, nice fitness center. However, there are some questionable spots underneath the toilet bowl in our room. We also had no body wash in our shower dispenser and didn’t realize until I was in the shower, the WiFi operates at dial-up speeds the majority of the stay so far (we’re still here). And the website for the hotel made no mention that the pool was closed which was a huge reason for choosing this hotel, I would have booked elsewhere had I known. We also have to pay for parking ($35 a day) which is ridiculous considering I’m spending $400 for two beds/two nights here. So, nice at a glance but pretty lackluster overall.
Response: Dear Stacey Kay, Thank you for your review. I am very sorry to hear that you had a disappointing experience and sincerely apologize for the areas we failed to meet your expectations. Your feedback is important to us and helps us improve future guest experiences. I appreciate you taking the time to share your thoughtful reflections. Sincerely, Aaron Caple General Manager

JuniperRose: Our room was spotless and everything was in order when we got there. The location is very close to the museums so it was very nice to be able to get back and forth. They have a small dining area thats open for diner and a bar. The only thing an issue is the customer service there is pretty cold. We spoke to one gentleman who was very helpful, but the ladies at the front were cut and dry. We called down to ask about checkout the morning of and she answered our question but then hung up in the middle of my husband thanking her. It’s not the end of the world but it just struck us as odd. I also witnessed only 1 waitress doing bar and waiting in the dining area. She was running herself all over trying to help everyone while 3 people stood behind the front desk. Is this normal? Perhaps they could help out with drinks and small things?
Response: Dear JuniperRose, I appreciate your feedback regarding your stay. Please accept my sincere apology that you felt you were not treated in a friendly and welcoming manner. That is not how we want to present ourselves to our guests and your comments will be instrumental in the training and education of our team members. Thank you for staying with us and I hope you will consider coming back. Sincerely, Aaron Caple General Manager

Jessica Osegueda: We booked a room block with Cambria in Washington DC this week, and catered two dinners with them. This entire team went above and beyond to ensure we were comfortable and happy. They are genuine and you can tell they truly cared about the work they did. I am beyond grateful for the efforts they put into ensuring our guests were taken care of. The hospitality here is incomparable. The food was delicious and the ballroom, for both of our dinners, was ready to go upon arrival. I am a very detailed event manager and the entire staff was spot on. You could tell they all worked seamlessly together to create the best experience possible. I'd like to give the following people a shout out: OJ - Assistant GM Aaron - GM Renard - Director of Sales Eboni - Account Executive Yanni - Guest Clerk Raquel - Guest Service Manager Eric - Guest Clerk Thank you to every single one of you for making myself and the guests feel at home.
Response: Dear Jessica Osegueda, Wow! Reviews just don't get any better than this one. Thank you so much for your support of our Cambria Hotel and your recognition of our spectacular staff and the service they provide. Our goal is to provide comfort to all our guests who are away from home; your feedback allows us to monitor how we are doing. We loved having you as our guest and we can't wait to welcome you back! Best, Aaron Caple General Manager

Cambria Hotel Washington D.C. Capitol Riverfront: what do users think?

khadejah neal: The Hotel itself is very nice however their parking situation is not sufficient the employees of the valet department are super slow and inconsiderate of other peoples time. When we first checked in it took them 40 minutes to come get the keys and park the car. When we were checking out we called down 30 minutes prior to us walking down so the car could be ready the car was not there when we came down and we still had to wait another 30 minutes for them to pull the car around. This cost us to miss our reservation because they took forever to bring the car Around. I think this hotel will be best if you don’t have a car and you are taking a train into the city or if you don’t want to use your car during this day. The room it’s self it’s very nice however The stay was ruined because of valet their parking cost $80 for two days and for that price we should be getting five star treatment by the valet department.
Response: Thank you for taking the time to complete our online survey regarding your recent stay at our hotel. On behalf of our entire team, I would like to apologize for failing to exceed your expectations. Your satisfaction is important to us and we will be using the feedback you provided to make improvements to ensure we offer an exceptional experience for our guests in the future. I hope that you will consider staying with us again so that we can have another chance to provide you with a superior experience. Sincerely, The Cambria Team

Ana A.: Beautifully modern hotel located near much of what tourists go to see in DC. Front desk attendant was nice, valet is a joke!! There is NO parking on site, it's first come first serve for street parking. The valet will tell "find a place and park in it." If they park it for you, it's max $38 a day +tax. The rooms are spacious and clean but we had no washcloths and the two times we asked, they were out. It's nice enough, but we won't be back.

David Branch: A fine experience during our brief stay in Washington DC. It is close to Reagan Airport and within walking distance of Nationals Park. Our room was cozy and modern with a grand view of the DC power skyline. And ah the bed! It was so plush and comfortable. I was fast asleep in less than a minute of hitting my pillow. Reasonably priced with an attentive and welcoming staff. When we return to DC, this will be my first choice for accommodations.
Response: Thank you for taking the time to complete our online survey regarding your recent stay at our hotel. Your feedback is very important to us and we can assure you that we will use this information to do everything possible to create an enjoyable experience for each of our guests. We hope to see you again soon!

Ariel Latta: The only good thing about this hotel was it was clean. The decor was cheap and worn out. Absolutely not worth almost $400 a night given it was not in a good area and not on the waterfront. We witnessed valet parking cars on sketchy side streets. There are no other options in the area for parking so you’re forced to use valet. The staff at the bar was rude to say the least. When we asked to make a reservation for another night they told us only the front desk can make reservations and the staff at the front desk told us only the bar can make reservations. Do not recommend, for the price you can absolutely find something closer to downtown that is much nicer.

Tierra Oskay: This hotel is actually AMAZING! The inside was beautiful. Your greeted in the lobby with friendly concierge and a motion wall decor by the elevators. The room itself was spacious, beds were comfortable and the bathroom was high-tech with a giant Bluetooth mirror. There are 2 reasons why I give them a 4. Number 1 you basically HAVE to use their valet parking because of their location and the price for it, is stupid. You pay over $40 for them to park it on a dirt mound right outside the hotel. Number 2 the location. I was super nervous, the whole night, someone was going to break into my car. The price of the room matched my experience, I would stay here again, but I'd catch an uber of possible.
Response: Thank you for taking the time to complete our online survey regarding your recent stay at our hotel. Your feedback is very important to us and we can assure you that we will use this information to do everything possible to create an enjoyable experience for each of our guests. We hope to see you again soon! Sincerely The Cambria Team

Amanda Miller: The front desk ladies were all smiles and made the check-in process fast and painless after a long day at the airport. There are snacks and wine and sandwiches available for purchase in the lobby, which was a life saver due to the time of night that I arrived. There was a loud party going on next door to my room, but the night manager wasnt having it and she shut that down quickly. I was impressed. The rooms are updated and the bed was comfortable. Loved the roomy walk-in shower. My Uber was $20 from Reagan Airport. Would definitely stay again.

Stephanie Rosa: Great location. Room was clean when we first came in. The only two things I wasn’t comfortable with is how they handle the cleaning service. When I checked in they told me they usually clean at the 3rd day of the stay or as requested. We checked in on Tuesday and I asked at the front desk to send someone to clean the room on Friday but they never went. I asked again on Saturday morning and same thing happened. Also, They need to solve their parking issue. They charge $38(+ tax) overnight. I only paid one night of valet after I realized the “valet parking” was actually parking my car on the street. I could see my car from my room and they charged me $38 for that… they do have a garage but I guess is too small that they need to park cars on the streets…

surabhi sinha: We visited 2 Apr 2022 for blossom festival had booked in advance . While booking mentioned parking . We drive 6 hour to reach there with two little kids and after reaching there got to know all parking full and it’s on first come first serve basis and suggested to park near to street but no parking was available. I was new to city drove in city for three hour to get parking but with no luck . Then come back to hotel . No one was there to listen luckily one lady on desk showed little concern . What they offer me they will cancel my booking with zero penalty ( which I am yet to receive)after discussing with manager and I left hotel with kid after 9 hour of continuous drive . If they would have mailed me in advance no parking will be available might be my kids will not have to go so much of pain of returning back to Nc same day because of in availability of hotels . Without any break again driving means another 6 hour of my weekend wasted because of them .

Brittany Harris: We chose to stay here because the hotel advertises a bottomless brunch, rooftop bar, and we selected the “pick your perk package.” When we checked in: 1. Rooftop bar closed. Reason: low occupancy 2. Bottomless brunch cancelled. Reason: Discontinued at the moment. The two perks we selected were parking and restaurant voucher. We chose to use our voucher on Saturday 2/12. At 7PM we head to the restaurant for dinner. It’s closed. Reason: not enough staff. Once we arrived we were told that the only option was VALET, not self parking. One day our car was parked on a very steep dirt hill across the street from the hotel, and other times it was stored in a garage off site. On the final day, we watched the parking attendant drive our car to the entrance WITH the parking brake activated and was unable to disengage. Had to call roadside service. Room was just ok. We noticed cardboard jammed under the bed frame on one side (?) And maid service was only offered via text message (?) Ice machine only worked on the 7th floor, every other floor had a notice that the machine is not in service. When we checked out, we noticed 2 $13 restaurant charges on our bill. (We never went to the restaurant.) The management did compensate us for the inconvenience of not redeeming the restaurant voucher. This experience was a waste of time and money.
Response: Hello Brittany, Thank you for taking the time to complete our online survey regarding your recent stay at our hotel. Sevor Klu: Beautiful hotel. Right close to my work place. It is located right across from Dc united and Mets stadium. Nice restaurants around to get great food. The hotel clean with friendly staff. The rooms are clean, slick, and modern. Parking is expensive $38 per day. Too much..

Kimpton Hotel Monaco Washington DC: what do users think?

Hampus Engstroem: Make sure to use ʜoᴛᴇʟʙoʟʟʏ.ᴄᴏm when booking any hotel. This site will compare hundreds of booking websites and usually will have rooms much cheaper than others! Thank me later! This hotel is the best rated in this area. I've been coming here for years. If you stay for a few nights you for sure won't be let down. Friendly, attentive staff, spacious lobby and guest rooms with funky meets traditional furnishings, soaring ceilings, and comfy beds. Perfect location for Smithsonian and within walking distance to the Tidal Basin/cherry blossoms. We felt very safe walking around. Complimentary coffee in the mornings and wine in the evenings - a nice touch. Several very good restaurants within a few steps from the hotel in every direction, including a lively restaurant/bar with outdoor seating in the hotel’s own courtyard. We’re hoping to make this an annual trip!

Shining Starzz: I’ve stayed in hotels all around the world and this is my favorite. Front staff was friendly and sociable. Check-in was easy. Free happy hour in the evening. High vault ceilings in the rooms, which are well decorated. Large full mirror in the rooms and little things like the jewelry box, umbrella, yoga mat, exotic animal print robes and natural soap make a big difference. Only disappointment was the view from my window.

Susan Payne: Friendly, attentive staff, spacious lobby and guest rooms with funky meets traditional furnishings, soaring ceilings, and comfy beds.

Ray Bentley: This was the WORST experience of my life. When I arrived my room was not prepared at 3pm on a Saturday! We ended up not being able to change and we’re late to an engagement. I asked the staff when and why our rooms were not ready and they gave us no timeline until I asked for the third time. Upon asking the front desk attendant was extremely rude when I really tried to be overly nice about the situation. Upon my room being prepared they didn’t apologize and might as well have just thrown my hotel card keys at me. When I asked what they could do to accommodate the issues we experienced, she said nothing. They finally gave us fifty dollars credit to a restaurant at the hotel. When we went to check out they also tried charging us for the fifty dollars we used at the restaurant and basically called me a liar until I explained how terrible of a stay I had. Going further our rooms were not cleaned the entire weekend and they blamed it on staffing and Covid issues. They did not adjust our price even though we booked through American Express travel. The worst part of all of this was the fire alarm that went off at 2am requiring the entire hotel to exit. They chose to rent out there lounge on the roof that evening to a 21st birthday party in which someone pulled the fire alarm. This place is a frat house not a hotel. It’s very disappointing because the furniture and ambiance of the space was great. A manager was supposed to call me after I checked out and I have received nothing of the kind. Worst stay I’ve ever had in a hotel and I travel for work all the time. Location and hotel furniture fixtures plus, everything else was absolutely terrible. Disappointing. Zero stars if I could.

Stephani Rodriguez: Beautiful unique hotel with a rich history. The staff was absolutely amazing! My room didn't have a microwave and my food spoiled because I didn't realize the fridge didn't work. They should also stock washcloths in the room. The night cap service was awesome and I cant stress enough how amazing everyone on staff was inside and out!

Chad Rea: Stayed here 4 nights for a work conference and must say it was disappointing for a luxury branded IHG/Kimpton property. The hotel absolutely has some bold decor choices (which I kind of enjoyed) with the furniture and wallpaper. Rooms - I stayed in room 218, the bed was too soft for my liking, and the pillows were not great quality. The room also had an unusual smell which I could not identify. The weather was in the low 30s during my stay, and the thermostat would not go above 65 no matter high I set the heater temperature (thankfully I like my rooms cold). The restaurant "Dirty Habit" was really good, the charcoal bun burger was phenomenal. The location is perfect, I was across the street from the Wizards arena, and within walking distance of a ton of great restaurants and all of the smithsonian museums. Big Plus! And I must shout out the exceptional service. The staff was excellent, front desk was helpful and check-in was a breeze. Waiting staff during the provided conference meals were very attentive. The bellmen were also friendly and accommodating. Daily housekeeping was great. And the complimentary wine (in evening) and coffee (in the morning) in the lobby was a nice touch. Overall, solid hotel, great staff, but desperately in need of a makeover.

Matthew Radomski: The service was fantastic. We were welcomed by Belinda at the front desk when we checked in. There was a small error with our reservation (used a 3rd party app) and it took them maybe 2-3 minutes to fix the error. Belinda and another gentleman at the front desk went out of their way to make upgraded accommodations for us, and ensure we had a great time. Throughout our entire stay, we were greeted by name and asked how everything was. I could not have asked for better service.

K Mroz: My husband and i stayed here for 2 nights for our anniversary weekend. Kimpton properties are usually our favorite, but this was very disappointing for a luxury branded Kimpton property. The hotel felt/sounded like a frat house. We stayed in room 243, so we could here the commotion outside from the Dirty Habits restaurant; and up until 2am, there were loud, drunk party goers(im guessing from an event) in the hallway. The pillows and bed were not comfortable at all. My body was so achy from sleeping on them all weekend. Our refrigerator was broken, and there wasn't even a bottle of water in the room(had to buy it) . For the nightly cost of that weekend(apparently a big event weekend-we didn't know), the amenities were disappointing. Though we loved Kimpton in the past, this was a turn off and we won't stay at this particular one again. I'll leave it for the 20 something crowd. The redeeming quality is, the excellent, front desk staff. They were very pleasant and friendly

Vicente Cuevas: Recently stayed 5 nights at this hotel and wanted to share some feedback, both pros and cons. My stay included an upgrade, or "upsell" to the Premium Monte Carlo room. Good: Great location, phenomenal decor, friendly staff, "Dirty Habit" restaurant inside the hotel, very close to DCA airport and for being an old property, the plumbing was very good. The toilets (both in room and public) flush very loud and with similar strength to that of airplane toilets, I was impressed by this lol. Pros: Extremely expensive and I regret the upgrade. The room was beautiful... Again, my hats off to the decor. However... Bed and pillows were not comfortable at all (bedding and pillows felt very cheap and used), the room always felt warm (AC vaguely flowed in master bedroom but never in living room portion of the suite), the door that separates living from bedroom never fully closed, both TVs had HORRIBLE signal and one can barely turn on, and no microwave or coffee maker inside the suite. If I'm going to pay the money this hotel charges per night, I want amenities, a bed that feels more comfortable than the one in my own home, and TVs that actually work. It doesn't even include a simple breakfast. In conclusion, I was a little disheartened with what the room itself delivered. I felt like it absolutely was NOT worth the fortune and taxes they charged to get a room that looks very appealing to the eye, but in "practice" just didn't work. This last comment is more of an observation. I only noticed one entrance to the entire property. It's a set of stairs that lead from the sidewalk to the entrance door of the lobby (which is on the 2nd floor). Unless there is a bellman available to help with bags, you are on your own. I didn't notice any ramps for those with accessibility needs just to enter lobby of the hotel but again could be wrong.

Jeremy: Unless you have a written guarantee that you will NOT be in a basement room, don’t stay here. The basement rooms are musty and provide a view of the sidewalk and garbage cans. Staff were less than helpful as I watched guests who arrived after me get checked in. All of this well past the posted 3:00pm check-in time.

Hotel Harrington: what do users think?

Tim Fooks: I spent three days in DC. Two nights I stayed at the Harrington. It is a little like stepping back in time, but if you love history, this is the hotel for you. The front desk was attentive to all my needs. I arrived at 11 AM. Even though check-in was not until 4 PM, they directed me to the parking garage and gave me all I needed so I could park my car and start exploring DC. They answered all my questions about directions to landmarks and the best Metro Station to get to where I was going. The three restaurants on-site are conveniently located to cover breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The canned music at Harry's was right up my alley, and I loved the antiques in Ollie’s Trolley, not to mention the burgers and fries. Do your homework and you can find a room there for under a hundred dollars a night. You cannot beat that for being within walking distance of the White House, the National Mall, and many other landmarks. The rooms may not be as large as newer hotels, but the location more than makes up for it. I did not miss any amenities there that I would have had anywhere else. Be sure to explore the lobby gift shop and step around the corner in the lobby and look at the historical timeline along one wall showing the year, the American President, important events in the history of Hotel Harrington, and significant world events. On the other side of the hall are pictures of the hotel while being built. I loved my few days there and would suggest you check it out too.

Amy Tucker: We stayed in late February so the lack of forced air conditioning didn't matter we just opened the windows to get a cross breeze. The radiator rattled quite a bit at night but we like to sleep cool so that didn't matter much either since it was only on in the early morning. The history of the building was really interesting. It's certainly run down as far as the beds and the carpet. There were some air ducts that were falling down near the entrance of our room from the ceiling that I felt should have been fixed to preserve the building and for health and wellness. The PROS certainly outweighed the cons of not staying somewhere that was recently built. The location was within walking or a short scooter ride from every major thing we were doing. The Capital One arena, Capitol Mall, the White House, The Smithsonian museums, coffee, bars, sit down and take out locations, shopping, Freedom Plaza, can't really beat that. The room we reserved had two bathrooms! This was so great for getting out the door in the morning and to our first location of the day. The other major pro of this stay was the house keeping staff. They were EXCELLENT and even though the room was old they cleaned it everyday we didn't have our do not disturb sign up. Fresh towels, vacuuming the whole nine. See a tour of the hotel and room at our YouTube page, link in my bio.

Ken Woods: I really like this place. Funky old hotel with inexpensive rooms and a wonderful location. Some new paint and less dusty curtains and I'd give it 5 stars. Front desk was friendly and helpful. Parking wasn't cheap but that's how it is in DC. Location in relation to the mall, museums can't be beat. We did a show at the Warner and one at the Hamilton, both an easy walk.

Samantha McLeod: The location of this hotel is perfect. Walking distance to pretty much all the DC sites/attractions. Also, it was pretty reasonably priced. There were also 4 beds in the rooms which was unexpected and great if you're traveling with a group. The rooms themselves though are not the best. There are NO easy access outlets. I had to reach awkwardly behind the dresser just to charge my phone. The bedspreads (and maybe other things) are definitely not changed in between guests (found bobby pins etc that weren't mine on the bedspread) And the bathtub felt like there was water trapped underneath it, which can't be good. This hotel is over 100 years old, so it's understandable everything isn't perfect. But still.

Santiago Suarez: Excellent option, near to the White House and Union Station. A little bit old but very clean and good price. We had an excellent attention from the man at lobby who speak Spanish very well. He give us the chance to do early check in and we thanks a lot traveling with a baby. There is a restaurant and a gift store in the lobby as well as vending machines which is very useful. 100% recommend this hotel.

Alex D: We checked into the hotel and went to bed. When woke up, we had bedbugs crawling on us. When we reported it, the employee who said she was responsible for our floor for the past 30 years, told us we were the ones that brought the bugs. The bugs were pointed out to the housekeeping lead, however the manager told us the housekeeping lead reported no bugs were found. I would give the manager five stars. She was great to talk to and gave us our money back. The housekeeping is the group that gets one star. The place was cool, but do yourself a favor and book at the Holiday Inn Washington Capitol. Spend the extra money, it’s worth it.

Heather Walker: It's in the perfect location for all the sights...within walking distance of most attractions. It isn't fancy..in fact it's in kinda rough shape and not modern at all, but it is an old hotel. There is the convenience of having a restaurant, bar and a small gift shop downstairs. They did give us a small fan for our room to help muffle noise, as it was noisy at times because of the traffic. The shower went from comfortable temp to scalding hot twice during our 4 night stay, which seems to be something that needs to be fixed. The room came with mini fridge, microwave, iron and board and hairdryer. There was an ice machine in the hall and vending machines downstairs. Overall, it wasn't a bad stay for the price and we were more focused on location, so it worked out great for us.

Aigil: I had to change hotels at the last minute so I didn’t stay but they were very gracious and helpful. They did not charge me any fees and gave me a full refund, it is family run and a historic hotel, the interior is a bit dated and could use a clean up but it’s undergoing remodeling so I’m sure it will be fine in the future. The people at the front desk were kind and accommodating. The hotel is a bit rough around the edges but it has charm. Very satisfied with the service, and it has an excellent location

Angela: I just love this hotel it's literally in the heart of downtown DC, and pretty much everything is in walking distance. The rooms where clean, staff was very helpful, and they have a gift shop inside. Do not eat at the Harriet's the food was bland, and really do not like giving bad reviews it's the truth even when you look them up it says PERMANENT CLOSED(FYI THEIR OPEN). HARRY'S is great the atmosphere is friendly, food good, great music, and the waitress is has a Bomb Great Attitude 😁♥️.

Alexis Faciane: For a 100+ year old hotel it a good stay. Staff was nice, always came back to cleaned and stocked room. The location and price was in unbeatable for DC. We also enjoyed drinks and food at Harry's which we recommend.

Hyatt Place Washington Dc/National Mall: what do users think?

Derek Kruger: Remember to use ʜoᴛᴇʟʙoʟʟʏ.ᴄᴏm when booking a resort. This web site will compare thousands of hotel sites and normally will have rooms much cheaper compared to others! Thank me later! This place is one of my favorites in the area. I've been staying here for a very long time. If you stay for a few nights you definitely won't regret it. Convenient location, fairly close to the Smithsonian museums and national mall. The 2 queen bed (and sofa bed) room is perfect for families. Service is fast and friendly. Breakfast is a bit basic but is included in your room fee which is a major plus. Most of the unique amenities are closed in the cooler seasons and parking is a little pricey ($50/day) but otherwise it is a well equipped hotel.

Ryan Yturriaga: Pros: Great clean rooms, access to the national mall, relatively a good part of the neighborhood. Room service everyday. The swimming pool is a little small for the building, and no matter how hot it gets (summer) the water is ice-cold. The room service staff are friendly and very accommodating. Cons: (why the 2 stars) - it a hit or miss with the staffing. Their breakfast times are 6AM-9AM so really short compared to other chain hotels. If you are from the west coast, chances are you will miss the breakfast. Here's the kicker, the waitress literally swipe the food in front of us at 0905AM - instead of closing off the section, we are left just scrambling to get whatever we can get thanks to that very admirable waitress. (05-31-2022 - mornings) It left a really bad taste for the 4 people left on the line without consideration at all. I save about $50.00 a night from Embassy Suites, but this kind of service is not worth it. Consider somewhere else.

Nichole Raybould: The staff is the most UNFRIENDLY I have ever experienced at a hotel. We booked and prepaid for 3 nights through a 3rd party and I called the hotel the day before we were to check in to verify we were confirmed with our room as were to drive 6+ hours the following day. It took 2 people on the phone and 45 minutes to "find" my reservation in their system even though we had prepaid for the room in order to get a cheaper rate. Finally they found it and said I was good to go. Great. We arrive the next day to check in and AGAIN, they cannot find my reservation. It took 2 people and ANOTHER 45 minutes to "find" our reservation in their system. They were incredibly unfriendly about it too. Almost like they were waiting for us to get fed up and leave. Finally, magically, it appeared and we're good to go again. With 1 night left in our stay we get a phone call from the front desk saying that we were supposed to only stay 2 nights. We inform them, no, we paid for 3 nights. It says right here on our confirmation and when we checked in we confirmed it was 3 nights. They threatened to call the police on us because we told them we would not check out early. They put my husband on hold and never came back on. So in the meantime, I called the 3rd party company we booked it through and asked them to contact the hotel and confirm that yes, indeed, we paid for 3 nights. My husband got tired of sitting on hold and went downstairs to the front desk to confront them in person. By the time he got down there it was all "magically" fixed. No apology. No accommodation, nothing. SO RUDE. I'm being gracious in giving them 1 star but only because the room itself was fine and the free breakfast was good. But we will never stay here again. I have never had a worse experience with a hotel.

Kurt Martin: I get that everyone has a hard time hiring good people lately. This place is certainly no exception. That's not to say that some people were great, but we had too many bad experiences. First off, the air conditioner didn't work properly. Of course, they have motion sensors that turn off the system when no one is in the room. But ours didn't work until you turned it off and then back on again. So we would do this when we went to bed, but then around 1AM, we would wake up because it was too hot in the room (usually 78 degrees). So I would get up and turn the system off, then back on again. And eventually the room would cool enough to go back to sleep. Then it happened again at 4 am with 78 degree temps in the room. I reported it to the front desk, and nothing was ever fixed. We went to their breakfast the first morning. That was it. The food wasn't good. More than that were the incredibly rude women working there. We were standing in line, and a door flew open (I assume it led to the kitchen) and hit my wife on the wrist (hard enough to cause a small bruise). Instead of the woman apologizing to my wife for whacking her wrist, she screamed out to everyone, "Don't stand in front of this door. We have to go in and out all morning long, so if you don't want to get hurt, leave a path!" There we other rude encounters, just not as egregious as this one. We will never stay there again.

Gen Bowerbank: The breakfast was great, staff very friendly, and the valet parking was helpful and quick service. The rooms were clean, and we all sleep well in the soft beds. However we had a loud AC in our room. I don't think each room has one, but in the middle of the night when it would kick on, about each hour it would wake up the light sleepers of our room.

Keith Wunsch: Convenient location, fairly close to the Smithsonian museums and national mall.

Kevin McKay: I think I may have caught this hotel on a bad night in a bad situation, but I was not happy with my stay. There were plenty of issues I had, which I'll list here as well, but my main issue is I had a hotel maintenance worker LET HIMSELF INTO OUR ROOM WHILE MY GIRLFRIEND AND I WERE IN THERE. He did not knock, he opened the door and said hello, which startled both my girlfriend and I. He had said the there was a water leak on the floor below and he was checking if it was our room. I get that he needs to do his job but he should have knocked, not let himself in and when I responded walk right into my room. When I paid for this room I paid for privacy, and I expect that. I angrily called the front desk, where the manager was very helpful and apologetic, and offered to comp whatever was on the menu......until I found out it was the kitchen that flooded below us, so I couldn't get any food and had to leave the hotel to do so. So all I got for that issue was a couple rounds of free drinks, which in my opinion did not do enough to satisfy my anger at the situation. Among that little fiasco, other issues I experienced were that to get ice, I had ti go up 2 floors (i was on the 3rd), and only found this out after searching for 20 min and asking a hotel worker. Also, I was not told ahead of time that parking was valet only and overnight parking is $50 (should have expected it, being dc, but why not list it here since I'm listing all my issues with this place. Also, whoever had the floor above us was making so much noise banging on the floor (our ceiling) that it woke my girlfriend and I up the following morning. Finally, I was unhappy with the continental breakfest (I know, I'm complaining about something free here, but still) Their kitchen must have still been closed because all there was was bagels, cereal, and coffee. Like I said, maybe I caught this place on a bad night, but I don't think I'll be returning here if I have to stay in D C again.

Jazmín Romero: We stayed for one night and that was enough to know how things work here. The attention from the front desk staff was very good, no complaints about that. But: First of all, the elevators are pretty slow, it takes about 5 minutes to get into one. The air conditioner in our room made a lot of noise and it wasn’t fun to listen to. At around 9 a.m. the cleaning lady knocked at our door because she wanted to clean up already. It was a bit of a bother because we had just woken up, were still in bed and had barely gotten prepared for breakfast. She said that she had on her list that we would be doing the regular 12 noon checkout and not the later 2 pm checkout (we had told the staff at the front desk that we would do the 2 pm checkout since we have Hyatt Discoverist status which allows this). For breakfast there were no trays to put our plates on. They offered different sizes of plates and glasses/ cups, but I guess they think we have 6 hands to hold everything. It’s inefficient to make more than one trip to get the food. We decided to eat something in the afternoon before we left. The waiter took our order. He then said that my chicken sandwich would last longer that normal to come out (about 20 minutes. It ended up being a whole HOUR. He did not say anything about the time and we saw how the table next that arrived after us was finishing their food already. I am pretty disappointed. I hope they can get better.

Mr. Carl Davis: We stayed at this location the entire week and totally enjoyed everything. The room was spacious and we had a decent view from the 6th floor. We were centrally located to the National Mall and walking distance to CVS and the local grocery and other attractions... The staff while being very busy at times was professional and very nice on all levels. The breakfast was great and had a variety and a good selection of food... Not sure why someone said breakfast cost them extra because nothing was added extra for us on our bill. Neither were we disturbed by the fire station located around the corner of the hotel... We had a great stay....Thumbs 👍.

daniel conley: 3 blocks from the national mall. Comfortable and clean rooms. Fridge but no microwave. Even the sleeper couch was decently comfortable. Pretty good breakfast included. Short walk to the Wharf , a CVS and a Safeway. Close food choices are kinda limited so the grocery store might come in handy for some variety.

Capitol Hill Hotel: what do users think?

Briana Cooper: It was a very nice hotel and very clean. It was in a great area as well. We were able to walk to all the monuments and everything else we wanted to do. It wasn’t super busy and the staff is so nice and friendly. The breakfast is a few you have to pay on top of the hotel room fee and you can’t opt out of it. It’s $25 a day so that wasn’t as ideal because the breakfast was not worth that at all. The breakfast is also in the next building over so you have to leave the hotel to go to that building to get the breakfast. But other than that we loved staying here and will totally recommend.
Response: Thank you, Briana Cooper, for the stellar 5 out of 5 star review! I wanted to let you know that we only recently started doing our hot breakfast, and we will have a larger spread and more healthy options in the very near future. I am delighted to see that you will be staying with us again, and we look forward to seeing you then!

Emanon Jones: Great hotel, very clean. Friendly staff and complimentary snacks and water/juice was nice in the morning and happy hour is nice as well. Nice to offer breakfast too! Very close to everything and it was a nice walk from Union Station if you are catching the train or bus in/out of Washington. Spent three great days here. The hotel is located close to nice restaurant for lunch or dinner so you didn't have to travel to the Downtown area.
Response: Emanon, we are so happy to see you enjoyed your stay with us! Thank you for the kind words and we look forward to seeing you again soon!

Greta H: I would love to give this hotel five stars based on the fantastic location, the incredibly friendly staff, the delicious breakfast and the awesome guy who attends to the breakfast, and the nice comfy rooms. But the management is incredibly stingy about housekeeping services. For our entire six day stay, we received housekeeping once, despite requesting it repeatedly. Family members were in another room for the same six days, and they didn’t receive housekeeping AT ALL for the entire stay, despite requesting it daily. There was one roll of toilet paper for three people to share for days on end. The kitchenette was minimally supplied with no brush or sponge for washing the dishes. And by the time we left, the trash can and recycle bin were overflowing. It made me feel like a slob to leave the room in such a state. I expected better for what we paid. I mean, a cheap motel by the side of the highway has better housekeeping services than that!

Chris Hall: Had a pleasant stay at the Capitol Hill Hotel. Rooms were clean, staff was very welcoming and accommodating-always engaging and welcoming you back from a day at the capital. The hotel offered a nice quaint library/sitting area and refreshments 24/7 (coffee/tea/hot chocolate/lemon and mint water). Room offered comfortable beds, a small fridge, sink, and microwave. Bathroom was a bit on the small side but served its purpose with hot water and solid water pressure. Note: hotel is really close to the Capitol Building, but might be a stretch to walk to the Washington Monument and Lincoln Memorial for some.
Response: Thank you, Chris Hall, for taking the time to review our hotel. Our team kindly thanks you for the 5 star review. It was a pleasure having you and we hope to see you soon!

Romell: Great staff. Andrew who works the front desk was more than helpful. The entire team was pleasant and fun to be around. They always spoke as you came and left and were all in great spirits. Cornelius who also worked the front desk was always pleasant as well. The rooms and hotel itself were clean. The continental breakfast even include a hot sandwich option. I can't say enough good things about this staff.
Response: Romell, you are the best! Thank you so much for the kind words. We really appreciate it. The staff here genuinely cares how every guest is doing, and they always find ways to improve everyone's experience. We are so joyful that you enjoyed your stay with us, and we look forward to seeing you again in the future!

Tazmine Weisgerber: I highly recommend staying at the Capitol Hill Hotel. Every single staff member I encountered was friendly and anytime I needed assistance they didn't hesitate to help me. I can't say enough nice things about the wonderful employees there. The prices are extremely reasonable too! The one thing I want to mention is there isn't a cleaning person who will come make your bed every day but to be honest, I prefer it that way.
Response: Tazmine, we are so grateful for the 5 out of 5 star rating, and we are so pleased to see you enjoyed your stay with us. Although you enjoyed the "privacy" due to housekeeping not servicing your room, now that Covid restrictions have been lifted, we are going to service every room on a daily basis moving forward. We have very nice "do not disturb" signs that you can place on the outside of your door and housekeeping will still give you the privacy you want! We hope to see you again in the near future!

Paris Cort: One of the best hotels I ever stayed in solely for the ambiance. The rooms are cute too and come with a mini fridge and microwave. It took me a minute to work the TV. But the staff!! Omg The staff is so nice and accommodating. I feel like this is the Maggianos of hotels. I love the music in the lobby, the mint water. Everything was amazing. Thank you it all!
Response: Paris Cort, we are delighted to see you enjoyed your stay with us! We are glad to see you enjoyed the spacious rooms, the mini fridge, the microwave, and all of the other amenities in the room. The staff here takes such pride in taking care of our guests, and I cannot thank you enough for taking the time to sing their praises! Please come back and see us again soon.

kn: We stayed here to go to the rave in RFC park. The location is good, close to the attractions, and super quiet at night. The staff here was really nice and helpful. A little bit pricy but still reasonable for the weekend. The decoration in the room seems historical but comfy. Check-out time wasn't that strict, which was wonderful.
Response: kn, we are delighted to see you enjoyed your stay with us. We are glad to see you enjoyed the location, that the room was quiet, the decorations in the room were comfortable, and that the staff here was nice and helpful. Come back and see us again soon!

Lori Hutch: The room was nice and the bed was very comfortable. The included breakfast was nicer than a typical hotel free breakfast. The staff were always very friendly. The location was near many restaurants as well as a short walk to a Metro station, making it accessible to the important places in DC.
Response: Thank you, Lori, for the kind words and the wonderful review!

Renaissance Washington, DC Downtown Hotel: what do users think?

Rebecca C: I would give this a solid 3/3.5 stars. I must admit, since it’s a 4 star hotel, we expected a bit more. I’m going to guess they had to cut some amenities due to COVID. The night staff seemed friendlier than the morning staff. The bathroom was fine (I read a few before going that it was moldy). The water does take quite some time to stop dripping after you turn it off but the pressure was fine. You can definitely tell they used bleach/serious cleaners. Did notice some stains on the shower curtain and bed but could just be from use over the years. The best part really was location in terms of distance from certain attractions. That and the fact that Starbucks was in the lobby (they open early but close early as well). They also have a easy to use and relatively spacious safe. If I’m honest, I can’t say we will be choosing this hotel again the next time but overall, it was a fine experience.

Wesley Sparks: I am a loyal Marriott member, Platinum Elite so far this year. Overall this location is great for Convention Center trade shows. I ate an omelette for breakfast and it was definitely than I expected for a busy morning service time. Did not try the restaurant for other meal times, but the bar is pretty nice and well run. The beer list leaves a little to be desired. Main thing that keeps it from getting five stars is somehow I got placed in a “European” room, which means small bed, small room.

Derek Kruger: Make sure to use ʜoᴛᴇʟʙoʟʟʏ.ᴄᴏm when booking any hotel. This web site will compare thousands of booking websites and typically will have rooms much cheaper than others! Thank me later on! This resort is one of the highest rated in the area. I've been staying here for years. If you stay for a few nights you for sure won't regret it. This is definitely a four star hotel. The staff are amazing. They were welcoming and accommodating. The room was clean, well appointed and comfortable. I had a nice city view on the 8th floor. Starbucks is conveniently located on the main level. I will definitely be back.

Nikki SKD: No frills as expected, bathroom was clean but bed linens had a very musty odor when we first arrived as if the room had not been used or refreshed recently. Parking was relatively simple (about $30 per day), within walking distance of many sites if walking is your thing. No microwave in room was a bummer since indoor dining wasn't a safe personal option at many locations. If be inclined to stay again if it were for not having a microwave.

M M: The location of the hotel ist great. You can reach most attraction in Washington DC per foot. The staff at the front desk was friendly. The cleanliness left a lot to be desired. Our room was completely forgotten to be cleaned for one day! Instead of a clean room and fresh towels we got a page long detailed letter of apology. Does this happen possibly often🤔?

Adrienne Bowden: Overall a really nice hotel. Can't use the bathroom in the lobby unless you have a hotel key (I was there for a conference so I didn't have one). Starbucks in the lobby was out of many things. Don't waste your time standing in their line. The hotel food was great

Lou Costanza: This is definitely a four star hotel. The staff are amazing. They were welcoming and accommodating. The room was clean, well appointed and comfortable. I had a nice city view on the 8th floor. Starbucks is conveniently located on the main level. I will definitely be back.

B. W.: Just had a bad three-night stay. The hotel has fancy lobby area, but hotel room is showing its age. Very thin walls with bad soundproofing. Can hear street noises clearly even on the 9th floor, as well as people talking in neighboring rooms. Carpet is dirty. Underground garage for the $35 per day self-parking is confusing, and with rats hanging around too. As a Marriott platinum member, did not feel much recognition at the hotel. They are still keeping the club lounge 'suspended' due to covid, even though pretty much everything else is coming back to normal. The only option they offer to platinum member as breakfast benefit is pathetic: choose between one muffin and one croissant, an oatmeal, and coffee/juice. I asked the restaurant to have these packed to take to my room. Was told to wait, and was simply ignored for about 15 minutes. Finally someone came to ask "muffin or croissant" and left. Waited about another 10 minutes, received it without any drink. Had to ask again for my coffee. By then a couple groups behind me had been greeted into the restaurant, had their breakfast, and left. Upon checking out, the front desk told me that the restaurant gave me $20 credit, which she applied to the charge of my parking. The total charge would be $85 instead of $105. However, in the end, two charges of $85 and $20 were made to my credit card after the pending period. NO credit after all. Just unbelievable.

Carolyn Montoya: I believe this hotel is under rated! I loved my room and appreciated the convenience of a Starbucks in the lobby. I had a rocky flight coming in and the woman in the hotel snack shop was so helpful in finding ginger ale for me! This trip was for a conference, next time would stay here as a tourist as I love the location!

State Plaza Hotel: what do users think?

Brooke Justis: This is our second time staying here (our first was the night we got engaged!), and the place is great. Wonderful price, clean and spacious rooms, reasonable parking, and friendly staff! The location is wonderful! We were able to walk to the national mall easily, where my fiancé proposed, and return to our hotel for the night. Will most likely stay here again!!

Michelle Pearse: This hotel is well located with easy access to everything. The CVS next door was a lifesaver and the staff was extremely helpful. Our room had a kitchenette, a powder room, and bathroom. It was extremely spacious, clean, and we were able to really spread out and be comfortable. It was our first time to DC and we will recommend the state plaza hotel all of our friends & family.

TRECEYb Finney: I was PLEASANTLY surprised at the kitchen addition to the room; I would have been happy with just a microwave. There was also an additional area between the room and the bathroom that could be smaller to make the bathroom a bit more spacious. But overall loved the room and hotel design, will definitely return if ever in DC again.

Thad Johnson: Great location of the hotel relative to the Lincoln Memorial and a good portion of the monuments. Its a bit of a walk to the museums. Hotel is super clean, amazing staff. My only complaint are the TVs are old and burned in images. But if that's the biggest gripe, this place is doing great!

Meghan Flynn: I stayed in this hotel after a very long drive from NY to make it to an appointment to get an emergency passport. Upon arriving, I check in and proceed to self parking where the spaces are extremely tight. The rooms are decent, and within walking distance to National Mall. The next day, on the date of my checkout I was to be flying out of DC for a funeral of a close family member. I explained to the manager and the front desk member that it would be extremely helpful if I could extend my check out just one hour (from noon to 1pm) as my transport to the airport would be arriving around then, and that I would be willing to pay any fee for the extension. They declined. I’m not one to complain or write poor reviews but after explaining to them all I had gone through in the prior 48 hours for them to not make an exception to extended just out of basic morality, let alone show good hospitality really rubbed me the wrong way.

CHRISTOPHER GUENTHER: Rooms are decent, big and spacious. However, we turned the air on in the room, and went out so room would be nice and cool when we got back. Well it was like an sauna. We call the front desk and was told they haven't turned on the ac to the rooms yet, and brought us two fans. Well I paid for parking and had no trouble leaving, however everytime I come back to park I had to park somewhere else, my key didn't work the garage door so I had to find out where I had to park my car, since they have two places. Just seemed like it could be more streamlined for guest to come and go as you wish.

Kent C: Hotel is in in good location where is closed to everywhere by walking. I have a kind deluxe room and it is big n comfortable enough for two people staying. The bed is comfy to sleep on. However, the room is super cold n heat doesn't work. Also the refrigerator noise is so loud that we have to turn it off.

Elvin Schrock: Room was clean and spacious. The bed was very comfortable and the staff was super accommodating. When we had an issue with the temperature of the room, they immediately sent up a fan to keep us comfortable.

Peter Fox: Hotel rooms were good, clean and had a kitchenette. A little outdated. Also the thermostat seemed broken. Staff was not as helpful as I thought. We had called before twice to make sure that the hotel can provide us a baby bed and they said twice that they have a bed (play pen, Graco style but lower quality). When we reached I found out that they only have the play pen but no mattress. The baby would have slept on a uneven and on the frame. Not safe and not what can be called baby bed. I had to buy a mattress from target myself. They wanted to reimburse us one night but never did. Even after calling the hotel and booking.com the hotel didn’t give us the reimbursement. Really sad because otherwise I would have recommended the hotel and my review would have been different. I will still try to connect with the hotel to resolve the issue.
Response: Hello Peter Fox - My apologies for your inconvenience. Please contact me directly at dmanalang@stateplaza.com so I can resolve this issue. Thank you.
