Hotel Madera: what do users think?

Chris Robbins: Excellent! The front desk staff, valet, and housekeepers were all extremely friendly and accommodating. My wife, dog and I recently stayed 4 nights and had a great time. Hotel was Very clean, spacious and modern. The balcony room is a must have in my opinion and it didn’t disappoint. The area is really nice and has plenty of walkable spots for food, coffee, etc. Firefly has an eclectic brunch menu and they have great bar tenders as well. The only negative I could possibly share would be the water pressure but with multiple settings for the shower it was fine. Overall I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking to have an amazing guest experience with a high standard for cleanliness in the nation’s capital.
Response: Chris, We loved having the family and fur baby join us here at Hotel Madera! Thank you for the positive review and five stars. We hope on your next trip to DC you will join us again. Hope to see you soon!

Ebsan Uddin: The staff was amazing and the room was extremely nice. There was so much attention to detail. Our bed was very comfortable and the big windows gave our room a lot of natural light. They even have a water refill station that dispenses carbonated water on every floor. Will definitely book again if we're ever in town.

Shanna Torres: I stayed at this location during my October vacation. When we arrived our room was ready which a welcomed surprise after a long early flight. The room was clean spacious and the view from the balcony was gorgeous. We received our waters everyday with the amenity package. The guest services were so welcoming and sweet. The in room robes came in so perfectly on those few cold nights. But I loved the security they had there. Very safe feeling and experienced. I have already recommended this location to my family and friends and it's on my list when I travel to DC from now on.
Response: Thanks so much Shanna for this great review! We appreciate you and hope to see you again soon!

Mollie Christou: This hotel was immaculate! My husband and I went down for New Years and it was spacious and comfortable in the room. Food at the Firefly was delicious during brunch and the staff was so sweet and helpful! E was the door man and valet and he was so nice and courteous! I plan on coming here in the future for all our adult get aways!
Response: Mollie, thank you for taking the time to leave a review about your stay with us! I'm so happy to see E continues to take care of our guests, and that our property was perfect for your stay. We hope to welcome you back sooner rather than later!

H P: The hotel staff was warm and accommodating. The hotel itself is beautiful, with high-end finishes and gorgeous scenery! The beds were very comfortable and the shower was so nice. We enjoyed and made use of the desk and chair. And the best part was the access to chrome cast!! So, we got to watch a couple of our favorite shows :) And finally, when the valet had a little incident while bringing our car around, the hotel manager removed our parking charges as compensation for the incident. So, we were grateful for that. On our second night we were next to a group of rowdy young adults. They were so loud for so long, that we had a hard time enjoying ourselves. I just wished the walls were better sound-proofed at that moment. Finally, the valet unfortunately accrued a ticket on the car for a minor moving violation, which of course the hotel offered to cover, but we were worried about having points assessed to the car. Incidents like this happen in a city, so we understood. And the hotel staff graciously, removed the costs of parking, which we appreciated. All-in-all we enjoyed our stay and would stay again. The customer service alone is worth it to me!
Response: Thank you for all of the kind words, I am so happy that you enjoyed our new renovations, and that your stay was a success! I do apologize for the inconveniences faced with valet, but am thrilled to hear our front desk management team was able to resolve this swiftly. I hope we are able to welcome you back sooner rather than later!

Donna Bates: Recently stayed at Hotel Madera and had a great time celebrating our anniversary with my hubby. The room was modern, big and comfortable. The staff was amazing especially ICE and Deja. These two ladies were very attentive to our needs and definitely love what they are doing. Kudos to them and for the excellent customer service. Looking forward to our next visit.
Response: Thank you for celebrating with us here at Hotel Madera! We are so glad you enjoyed your time with us. We can not wait to welcome you back! --Maggie

Lynn Capella: I had a wonderful 2 night stay at Hotel Madera. The hotel is in a perfect location and close to the metro and fantastic restaurants. The staff was welcoming from the minute I checked in until the minute I checked out. The hotel itself is extremely clean and room was large, stylish and comfortable. I would highly recommend staying here and hope I can visit there again in the future.
Response: Lynn, Thank you for joining us at Hotel Madera we love the 5 star review! Looking forward to when we are able to welcome you back to Hotel Madera!

D. Duan F.: I love boutique hotels and Madera is one of the best boutique hotels I've ever stayed in. The location is perfect and is within walking distance to great restaurants, bars and tourist attractions (if you're in DC touring). The room we had was quite large and included a sectional. We also had a balcony overlooking New Hampshire, which was a nice spot to have a cocktail and people watch in the afternoon. The staff members were extremely helpful and friendly. And, if you own a pet, this is definitely where you want to stay. There is no extra charge for pets and they really spoil your pets. From the moment you walk in, they offer doggie treats and doggie toys. They also send a dog bed up to your room. Every day we were there, they greeted my dog by her name. One evening when we went out to dinner and left our dog in the room, we received a call from the hotel staff informing us that our dog was crying in the room. We expected them to tell us that we needed to come get her. But, they actually asked if they could go get her from the room so that she would not continue to disturb the other guests. They encouraged us to enjoy enjoy our dinner. We gave them permission to get our dog from the room, but ultimately, decided to return to pick her up and we took her to dinner with us. Luckily, many of the restaurants here in DC allow dogs on their patios. We would definitely stay at this hotel again when visiting DC.
Response: WOW! What an amazing review, thank you so much! We do hope the family and fur baby will return very soon.

Jennifer Whitson: Loved this hotel! Very clean, large rooms and bathrooms, great location not too far from metro, friendly staff who always welcomed us as we came back “home”, comfortable beds, and quiet. We will definitely choose Hotel Madera when we return to D.C.
Response: Jennifer, We are so glad to be your "home" in DC! Thank you for taking time to review our property and give us such 5 Stars! We hope to see you again very soon.

peter burnett: Great location. Wonderful staff. Noisy. The balcony sliding glass doors aren’t good quality and not adequate to stop noise even on the 8th floor. Traffic (overnight motorcycle/dirt bike noise and sirens) kept us up for two nights.
Response: Peter, Thank you for the kind review, so glad to hear you loved our location! So sorry for the disturbance of the city noise throughout your stay, we do hope you will join us again in the future.

HighRoad Hotel Washington DC: what do users think?

Kelsey Carreiro: Great location...plenty to do/see/eat....nice walk to the metro (15 mins)/ walk to attractions (30 mins) walk is worth it!!! You can also ride a bike or scooter to locations. Hostel has two full kitchens, plenty of bathrooms, clean bed and sheets to sleep on. Decent for the price.....staff I'd helpful/friendly!!!

Simon Cardenas: Friendly staff, good location, beds are okay. Im definitely staying here if I come back

Nora: I’ve been here last February before the pandemic and I really enjoyed staying here the price so convenient and the staff were so nice and friendly they made sure that I get whatever I needed and they were so helpful and happy to help I honestly felt like home here and this is the only hostel I like among all hostels I’ve been at. Back then they served breakfast every day and there were some activities every week. Somehow everyone I met there was lovely and friendly we had so fun hearing each other stories and future plans. I’m so thankful for this experience. Also about the location it’s so nice there are plenty of restaurants and coffee shops in the area almost one block away. I highly recommend it.

Ellen SC: Such a lovely hostel. Was made to feel so welcome, like I was coming home. Beds were comfy and hostel was quiet enough to get a good nights sleep but also lots of social areas. Would definitely recommend!

Sarah: This is the nicest, friendlist, most thoughtful hostel I have ever stayed in. The comforter you sleep with is legitimately cozy and nice. Staff comes and cleans the place regularly and I was really heartened to see that fellow guest pitch in to try and take care of and respect the place. Staff are super accommodating and have thought through most things you will need. Bus schedules, TV channel menus, where to eat, directions on how to store your food (and fellow guest respect each others!). I was allowed to store my luggage in the lobby area on day of check out, which really helped when I scheduled a White house tour before my flight and wasn't allowed to take anything with me. They allowed me to use the first floor when I came back to wait for my flight. Everything about it felt like coming home. It was cozy and comfortable and I was around really great people. Older people had long conversations with younger folks and I met people from all over the world. The showers are nicer than mine at home! Ear plugs and night masks in the lobby and tea are a good touch. I also really appreciated the quiet hours at night. Also, the street they are on is amazing and has nearly every nationality of food you could possibly want. There is also a nice health foods market on the same block. One small suggestion! If there were more clothing hooks in the downstairs bathrooms to hang clothes while you shower and some better mirrors in some of the upstairs bathrooms, it would be great! Thank you for a great stay I will be back!

Emily Wakwe: Surprisingly excellent! 👏🏾 Only request is that mirrors or a mirror needs to be in the room.

ALI DAL: Wait.. what. Best $$ I've spent in awhile! Let me tell you why. As soon as I walked in, I was greeted by friendly staff. The lobby is as cozy as it gets! Antique yet modern with lots of amenities! Everything is available. Kitchen is free to use. Lots of bathrooms. I've never waited to go to the restroom. My room was small. Only beds and each guest gets a locker. That's a hostel so it's acceptable. Not to mention the affordablility. No complains here. I was looking for a hostel experience and I found it. I'd come back if I'm in town again.
Response: Wow, thank you so much for making our day!! The Management team here at the hostel are all world-travelers and have stayed in countless hostels. We compiled all the things that make the most comfortable and special stay for you - a cozy living room you actually want to be in, a clean and spacious environment, and honestly, never having to wait for the bathroom!! (We have an abundance of them!) See you the next time you're in D.C.! -Miyuki at the HighRoad Hostel DC

Lauren: Loved my stay at this hostel. The location is beautiful in a very lively neighborhood. A 5min walk gets you to the bus stop. It’s about a 20 min ride to the national mall and DCA. Spacious and clean rooms. The beds were comfortable although very squeaky. I had a room on the third floor and had the bathroom to my self every morning. Very friendly staff. Went out Saturday night with people from the hostel and had an incredible time. If you’re a solo traveler going to DC and thinking about booking any kind of accommodation I recommend this hostel.
Response: Hi Lauren, Thanks so much for a detailed review of the HighRoad Hostel DC. We're so happy to hear you enjoyed our beautiful neighborhood of Adams Morgan, our hostel amenities, and our Saturday night event, Bar Night! However, I'm sorry to hear that your bunk was squeaky. I can say with confidence that our beds are typically not noisy. We will do a spot check of the beds first thing tomorrow to ensure all beds do not squeak!! Please let us know if you have any other suggestions for us! We are always looking forward to guest comments to improve and provide the best service and experience for our guests. Safe travels and see you soon! -Miyuki at the HighRoad Hostel DC Team

Camryn King: My stay was AMAZING! the staff was extremely friendly and accommodating! All of the general areas, bathrooms, and my room was extremely clean and up to par. I really really loved staying here. I would suggest to anyone who may think about staying in a bigger room with more beds that your privacy may be worth the little extra fees. I stayed in a 14 bed mixed gender room and I don’t have any complaints, I just think I would prefer a more expensive room next time for more privacy 😊

Jeff Martin: This hostel is awesome! I’m a teacher, I brought 15 students here. The staff was incredibly responsive, helpful, prompt, and professional in advance of arrival. We were greeted by staff and shown to our rooms in a very welcoming manor. They were nice to me and my students. The showers are clean. the beds are very very comfortable and do not squeak when you turn over in them. The vide is hip and fun. The location is in the heart of the fun to be had in Adams Morgan. I will definitely recommend this hostel to others and will definitely plan to come back (without students) to have fun with this hostel as my home base!

Mandarin Oriental, Washington D.C.: what do users think?

Terrie Jeschke: I am giving a 5 because I have given lesser places a 5. It is very luxurious and the staff is superbly courteous without being stuffy. It was immaculate. We had a king deluxe and the bathroom was amazing. Linens were luxurious. The food was delicious and the pig roast on Thursday night at $32/plate was a bargain. They would box up what you could not eat and let you take it with you. I did not use the spa or pool areas. The only criticism I have is that there was no little store in which you could pick up drinks or snacks to have in your room. There was a refrigerator which housed some drinks/snacks before but they had been removed. So, in the evening, your only option was room service and to get a cup of coffee and a few cookies took close to an hour......plus a tip. There is no place within walking distance to pick up such items either. If you are used to those things in the evening or have small children, bring it with you.

Y. Lee: First time staying here and definitely won’t be my last time. The service was like no other! SUPERB! I can’t believe their is still service like this out there. Every single employee we ran into was amazing. I’m blown by the service. The rooms are very nice and clean. The hotel itself is very classy and comfortable. The food surpasses my expectations for hotel food and my kids loves their breakfast. The location was perfect because it was close to everything, but far enough from the crowd to keep the atmosphere intimate. The hotel is very kid friendly as well being that it’s an upscale hotel, so don’t be intimidated if you have kids and would like to stay here.

Hampus Engstroem: Make sure to use ʜoᴛᴇʟʙoʟʟʏ.ᴄᴏm when booking your room. This web site will compare countless hotel sites and normally will have rooms much cheaper than others! You're welcome :)! This place is one of my favorites in this area. I have been staying here for a very long time. If you decide to stay here you for sure won't be let down. First time staying here and definitely won’t be my last time. The service was like no other! SUPERB! I can’t believe their is still service like this out there. Sophia Usmani: Wow!! First class service all the way! We’ve stayed here several times and it’s always been exceptional. But this time, the staff went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable. In particular, Ignacio (the restaurant manager) took amazing care of us. My son has severe food allergies. Ignacio went out of his way to make sure my son could eat safely. I am so grateful for Ignacio and the restaurant team. A truly wonderful experience. Thank you to everyone for making our stay so wonderful.

Brandon Hutchinson: I stayed for two nights while in town for a concert. The room was great, it came with a comfortable bed, clean sheets, and an incredible view. The bathroom was really delightful with a grand bathtub and a walk-in shower. While staying here, I used the pool located in the spa, and while I enjoyed it on a quieter day of the week, I could see the pool area becoming very loud on a busier day. I had room service the second night, the service was very good, and so was the food. Very efficient, and on time to the minute of their estimated time I was given when I placed the order. Finally for my pros list is the location, you’re just South of the mall right at the Washington Monument. The only reason it doesn’t get 5 stars from me was due to state of some of the public spaces. The lobby had a few water spot damage areas on the ceiling, and all the air vents had a ton of dust build up around them.

Highly Favored: For a five star hotel I was expecting the same or better service like The Ritz or Four seasons. Pros: -We love our room with views of The Jefferson, spacious bathroom and excellent tub. Great location to all the attractions, and lovely hotel. -Nice pool -Friendly valet and staff Cons: - No turn down service, there's a note to leave a card on the bed if we want our linen changed the next day ( - Sauna/steam room bathroom area are not accessible to hotel guests unless you're booking one of their spa treatments (even though mandates were lifted almost 3 weeks ago in DC) -No coffee maker or refreshments in room

Lydsweet25 Sweet: I treated myself to a spa day for my birthday. Andrew, my masseuse was wonderful. Really did a great job on working on my aches. Tonya who did my facial was amazing as well. I was surprised that the facial did not include extracting however. The ladies at the front desk were very pleasant as well. One in particular (did not catch her name) went over and beyond to make me feel special. She even sang happy birthday to me and offered a complimentary glass of champagne. Even though I cannot treat myself often to the Mandarin, I had a truly an amazing time. I felt so relaxed and special I highly recommend coming here for a spa day.

Jon Shalala: Beautiful hotel, the hotel staff hustles! They try to go above and beyond. The bottle water is complementary and it’s really good. You definitely pay a premium but if you’re looking for 5 star service this is a great spot. My girlfriend loved the hotel. The hot chocolate at the bar is great.

Joy Bai: We enjoyed three nights stay in December. Our room was a double queen on floor 7 with a river view, very quiet and spacious. The hotel is beautifully decorated and super clean. The staff are warm and make you feel at home. Justin at the front desk made sure our stay is comfortable. Overall my family had a memorable time.

Brandon Nichols: Stayed here for our Honeymoon, and were treated like VIPs from the moment we walked through the door. We spent our days visiting the Smithsonian and came back in the evening to enjoy a drink from the bar while sitting in the garden area. Our room looked over the water and could see the Jefferson memorial. Used the concierge for information and recommendations regularly, but on the night I explained how we wanted something as our nice evening out and what we were hoping he took care of everything and planned a night out for my spouse and I. They arranged dinner, tickets to a show and even provided us with one of the hotels limousines to drive us for the evening as a wedding gift from the hotel.

The Jefferson, Washington, DC: what do users think?

Nick C: What an amazing experience staying at the Jefferson! My wife and I got away for a few days and to celebrate the NY! We were warmly welcomed from the first minute and upgraded to a wonderful suite for our stay. The room was amazingly comfortable with all the amenities expected of a 5 star property. Breakfast was top notch at the Greenhouse. To top it off the location was great for walking the city and seeing all DC has to offer! This place lives up to its reputation! Thanks to all of the staff!
Response: Thank you for the kind words! We hope we can welcome you back again soon.

Karen Koller: The Jefferson absolutely delivered a 5 star experience. The service was outstanding and all the little touches like a tv in my bathroom mirror or a stool for my purse went above and beyond what was expected. One of the best here. They have one of the best bar and restaurants I’ve had while staying in a hotel. The Quill and the Greenhouse had wonderful food and drinks ! Service was top notch. Every single staff member went above and beyond my expectation. A must if you are staying in DC ! So many amenities and extra touches.

Scott Ordal: This was our first experience at a luxury hotel and we were not disappointed! The staff were so friendly from the time that we pulled up to use the valet all the way through picking our car up to leave the next day. Every person that we interacted with was so kind and professional, they really made us feel special. The room service was so good and the room that we stayed in was like nothing we've seen before. Next time we are in DC we will definitely stay here again!

Thomas Whitelock: It was a great stay from start to finish. The staff was very nice and friendly and tried to make sure we had everything we needed. When we walked up with our luggage the doorman ran out and gave us bottles of cold water, it was 96 degrees that day, it was appreciated. I drank 2 bottles before I was even checked in. One thing that stood out, my wife used the extra pillow from the closet the first night we were there. The next day, house keeping put out 2 extra pillows. That was a nice touch that they noticed and made a change. The slippers were an unexpected bonus. We had room service for breakfast during our stay, one thing, the food does come faster than the estimated wait time, so be ready. I loved the lemon ricotta pancakes. It sounds like an odd combination, it is not. I am not sure it is why I gained 3 pounds, but I am sure it did not help. There are 2 areas that need improvement. The toilet paper, it is not good, it just feels cheap. Also, there is no vent fan in the bathroom and it gets really steamy in there. One is an easy fix, the other not so much.

Raj: The lobby area, the rooms, the library, the books, incredible, impeccably inviting and beautifully laid out and designed. This is the Best hotel in DC without a doubt. Just had dinner, and oh boy, that was something else. Food for sure was amazing, but service, friendliness, and good natured cool warmth of the staff, a whole other level, Katie and John were my servers, honestly, no words. Jefferson hotel is for sure the Best!
Response: Thank you for the kind words regarding your recent visit. We’re so glad you enjoyed your time on property and that you received great service from Katie and John in Quill!

Jonathan Holloway: Our 2-night stay was excellent. The service and amenities from the entire team was great. In the restaurant, we had wonderful service from Abdel and Jorge for brunch and John in the bar. Everyone was very welcoming and provided excellent service.

Mott U D’Potyou: I spent four nights recently. The property is recently remodeled and quite nice. The building is stately. I was told that I had been upgraded twice from my original booking. (I expressed a desire for a room in the front of the building and that led to the second upgrade.) The staff are over-the-top accommodating. They spoiled me with kindness and flattery. After a couple days I found myself refusing the constant offers of service or assistance. So why a three? Well a big turnoff was the restaurant. My “deal” included breakfast. Who wants to run out in the morning searching for something to eat? Besides the pre-remodel restaurant had a Michelin star! That restaurant is no longer there. Currently, breakfast toast costs four dollars (two slices wrapped in a blanket). A frozen bagel is $6. Frozen Belgian waffles are like $19 or $20. I paid $11 for an iced coffee in the bar. I mean the food is very ordinary and costs an arm and a leg. I was told by one of the receptionists that the hotel allows $60 something for these included breakfasts. I guess that includes your tip. To be fair all these “top tier” hotels practice highway robbery in their bars and restaurants, probably figuring that a lot of the patrons don’t want to go out searching for food and drink. Whatever the reason I hate it and feel like it’s abusive. I’m not poor; but, I really have a problem with four dollar toast and an eight dollar glass of juice. And the staff, I came away feeling that they felt enormous pressure to be perceived as pampering the guest. That made me feel creepy. All I ask is to be treated with some respect. Yet I left the Jefferson feeling like the staff would be glad I was gone. They could stop acting.

Schan McLaurin: Went to the Greenhouse for breakfast! Food was amazingly delicious!! Small portion but very tasty. I spent $80 for breakfast and My husband was still hungry.

Sue Swezeny: A beautiful place. Only went for a cocktail stop. The Dreamsicle is a must have. Sweet, refreshing, and a nice jolt of vitamin C in the citrus. Yum!

Lauren Fiabane: From the time we pulled in to the time we left, the people of the Jefferson were exceptional. Katie at the bar. Susan, the historian. Yolanda at reception. Simply above and beyond service, delivered with sincerity and passion for what they do.

Marriott Vacation Club Pulse at The Mayflower, Washington, D.C.: what do users think?

Andrew Tuttle: This is a very nice hotel. They have all the amenities that are necessary for a great stay. They have complementary tea and coffee in the lobby. They also have many ballrooms that host magnificent parties. When I was staying here, they were hosting the Australian Royal Air Force for some award ceremony or something. They had a party after and I could hear the music from my room on the third floor. Those kinds of things are very annoying. The rooms are very small. They also have two beds that are very small.

Ajay J Mundra: This property is very luxurious. The lobby is quite nice and the chandeliers were very nicely laid out. Additionally, the Christmas decorations was quite good. The check-in experience was good, however, the challenge was getting luggage to the room. Since there is almost hardly any parking space, getting the luggage unloaded and then separately park was car was a bit inconvenient. Regardless, the good thing is that the property did advice that we should find a parking spot in advance nearby. We used iparkit to get the parking garage for our stay. Coming back to the hotel, the room was really nice. The two queen beds were very comfortable and the wallpapers were nicely done. The room was really big and spacious. The coat room and bathroom were also quite spacious. This property is quite close to White House (walking distance) and it is convenient to take cabs to visit museums nearby. Overall, a wonderful experience with Marriott Vacation Club property.

William Collesano: Reps were very pleasant and helpful, facility was clean and well maintained, restaurant food was very good as was service. Only 1 recommendation - place or make available a coffee pot in the room. We often returned late in the evening - no nearby coffee shops or restaurants were open.

D G: Great location. Staff go out of their way to say hi\welcome\good morning. Coffee machine on our floor was broken all week. Club Pulse still closed. Makes little sense blaming covid for it since everything else is open with masks optional.

Murad Omar: Towels not clean. Shower had hair. The hotel staff didn’t think that the first thing they need to do is to apologize vs saying thank you we’ll tell the cleaning staff. Disrespectful

Christine Macaalay: I stay checked out today, very poor service. I stayed in this hotel for 4 days. Air-condition is not working every night, at the 1st they send someone to fix the air conditioning but we were not updated regarding the air conditioning if fixed, when we get back to the hotel at night, its not working. Made a complaint regarding this issue but the front desk just responded that they will make notes and smile. NEVER AGAIN, POOR SERVICE>>

Fred Thomas III: The Mayflower is a fantastic historic hotel. Inside the hotel on the 7th floor is "The Pulse" which is Marriott's vacation club. Therein lays the problem as the vacation club offers a specific type of experience. A hotel is altogether different and unfortunately it's like putting a round hole in a square peg. No pool, no amenities in the room, no store and staff barely knew about the visitor expectations. Again, a great experience if you're looking for a high-end hotel. They do have the Edgar which is the onsite restaurant and full bar. Good food but a bit pricey based. It was too late but had we known the difference there is no way we would have used 2,400 points.

B W: Also no microwaves or kitchenette accommodations so good luck if you want to enjoy any leftovers from eating out..

William Roger: They gave us a squatty little room with a king size bed. At certain times of day you could never get cold water it was always hot didn’t matter which faucet you turned on. The food was below average at the concierge service. I think Marriott needs to take a major look at this hotel and repair fix up the little things. The overall ambience of the hotels quite nice.

Jeong Kim: Rating as a 3.5. Ordered the shrimp and grits and chicken and pancake tacos. Shrimp and grits were good but wished they would load up on the slaw bc needed a fresh crunch esp. for a shrimp taco. Chicken and pancake was okay but nothing out of this world. Was just ckn strip wrapped in pancake.

Holiday Inn Washington Capitol - Natl Mall, an IHG Hotel: what do users think?

Wei Y: My recent experience at the hotel in mid March was quite pleasant. The room was clean, decor was fairly up-to-date, beds were comfortable (subjectively), and the bathroom was fairly well maintained. The staff were very accommodating and friendly, this includes the cleaning crew (on the 8th floor) who would give you anything you asked for. The pandemic is not over yet, so I liked the idea of not having staff coming in every day. People complaint about the thin wall, water pressure and the train. I did experience all of the above. The thin wall didn’t bother me that much, it’s usually due to loud neighbors. For the water pressure, I just waited for the others to finish their use then take my turn, the place was packed at the time and everyone was taking shower at the same time. As for the train, the hotel unfortunately situated right next to the track so unless you are a heavy sleeper, the noises could bother some of the guests on the east side. We ended up switching to the other side and it was great! The food at the restaurant downstairs was also surprising. The taste and the price were comparable to the nearby places, if not cheaper. A Starbucks was also attached to the hotel but they do close somewhat early. As for the parking, we didn’t have a car, but once I parked at a hotel in downtown Chicago, it was over $100 a night. All in all, we enjoyed our stay and will stay again for sure!
Response: Wei Y, thank you for staying with us and taking the time to share your experience and feedback with us. We hope to see you again.

tabitha buono: Rooms were decent sized. Our beds and pillows were AMAZING! The air conditioning was very hard to control. We froze the entire time. Also our bathroom had a light out, and only 3 drawers for 2 adults in a double bed room? Had to stay on top of housekeeping too. You have to call down every morning if you want fresh towels, etc. Even with calling, they still forgot. With all that said, I'd stay again. The bed and pillows were AMAZING!
Response: Tabitha, thank you for staying with us. We are sorry that you had a challenge with your AC unit. We are sharing your comments with our staff to help us improve. We hope you will give us another try in the future. Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us.

Kelly Dias: Pros: Staff were friendly and pleasant. The bedding was clean. Shower head was high enough, temperature and pressure were good. Close proximity to the Capitol, National Mall, and museums. Cons: AC wasn't working on arrival, but maintenance was able to get it back on line. Insufficient towels and only conditioner in bathroom (no shampoo). Room was not served by housekeeping between first and second night, which meant no fresh towels. Bathroom toilet paper holder was partially detached from wall. AC unit had exposed wiring. Connecting door for the suite had a loose handle that meant that we couldn't fully close it without fear of being trapped. The front desk only answered calls half of the time (2 out of 4 attempts). The breakfast fare at the restaurant was very expensive and not the highest quality. Walls are paper-thin, so I got to listen to the couple in a nearby room argue at the top of their lungs well into the night. Unfortunately, there was a music festival in town, so they closed the on-site coffee shop. Streets were blocked for blocks in each direction, so no access for Uber or cabs. In order the get to local attractions, we had to walk 4-6 blocks out of the way to get around.
Response: Kelly, thank you for choosing our property. We appreciate your feedback and are sorry to hear that you experienced a few challenges during your visit. We hope that you will give us another try in the future.

Joe Hughes: We were so excited to come to Washington D.C. for vacation. I have stayed at Holiday Inn's before and never experienced anything like we did here. Nothing seemed to work. The elevators were not working properly and one day not at all. We wanted to do some laundry and there was no change available and the soap dispenser was out of soap. I wasted a dollar since I didn't see the Out of Order sign that was placed on the side of the soap dispenser. The food downstairs in the café was horrible and it made my wife sick. The 21's amendment restaurant there was not much better. We wanted to buy soda and snacks and they wouldn't except cash. The rooms were cleaned every other day if that. The carpet was filthy and the desk chair was broke. On top of everything, Nobody knew anything when we ask for directions or where anything was. Apparently this Holiday Inn was just sold and in process of a new owner. That still doesn't make it right for this establishment to really put a damper on our vacation. We called security to stop all of the yelling and playing in the hall after 10 pm at night. Our floor was loaded with a group of kids and we finally had to go out there and tell the kids to quiet down. I would look at other options before coming here to stay, Murphy's Law applies here. "Anything that could go wrong will go wrong." I'm sorry that I have to post such a negative review but none the staff didn't make any effort to make our stay enjoyable.
Response: Joe, thank you for choosing to be our guest and taking the time to share your experience with us. We are sorry to hear that this visit was not as great as it could have been. We are using your feedback to improve our services. We are sorry that you left us on this note. We hope you will give us another try in the future.

M B: This was our first time staying at this hotel and it completely served its purpose. First the location - it is across the street from the department of Education and one block from the Air & Space Museum. There is a Starbucks on the corner of the hotel and several restaurants on the same block including a McDonalds. This hotel has a parking garage under it making parking very convenient. Parking fee is charged by the hotel per day and we had in and out privileges throughout our stay. There are two restaurants inside the hotel and a small convenience store next to the front desk. The lobby is more upscale than I thought it would be and staff was nice. We got into our room the first night later in the evening and our AC wasn’t working. We called the front desk and within minutes, a maintenance worker was at our door. He changed out the wall thermostat which didn’t resolve the issue and called for assistance to bring a new AC unit. They changed that out within minutes and discovered that there must be a wiring challenge that would take more time to resolve. They contacted the front desk, got us a new room and they walked it to make sure it was in perfect working condition before bringing us the new key cards. They offered to help us move but we were fine getting ourselves to the new room. This was the only challenge we experienced during our stay and these two maintenance technicians were absolutely wonderful. We forgot to get their names but they were on duty Friday, May 20, 2022 in the late evening. Nothing is a short walk in Washington DC as buildings are huge and the distance is deceiving. Every day we walked more than 7 miles and at the end of each day I walked back to the hotel to pick up the car to pick up my Mom to keep her from having to walk back. All throughout Washington DC, there are bicycles and electric scooters available to rent electronically on the spot to make the walking shorter and to get places quicker. We didn’t use them this time but they are a great benefit if needed. We did not eat in the hotel, but it is wonderful that the restaurants were there if we wanted to. This is a pretty perfect hotel to stay in when visiting Washington DC and we will most likely stay here on our next visit and recommend that you consider it as well. We didn’t take photos of the hotel, but it was very nice, clean, comfortable beds and we felt safe.
Response: M B, thank you for choosing to be our guest. We appreciate your feedback and are delighted to know that you had a great stay. We appreciate your feedback and will be sure to share your comments and feedback with the team. We hope to see you again, next time you are in the area.

The Ritz-Carlton Georgetown, Washington, D.C.: what do users think?

Jessica Leifer: Disappointing. Can hear the highway from the room, and they supposedly didn’t have any other rooms to offer us. Definitely not worth the price. Rooms should be soundproofed better. Mediocre— nice Marriott at best. Probably could have spent $200 less and stayed at a hotel just as nice, and way quieter. The lobby is adorable and homey feeling. Service was great. Location is great.

Alyssa Glorioso: I had the pleasure of working with the director of catering, Liliana Klein, on a gorgeous wedding this past weekend. I was the couple's planner and was thrilled to be able to produce a wedding at Ritz Carlton Georgetown. Throughout the process, Liliana was the consummate professional: warm and welcoming, communicative, addressed any and all questions, followed up after any meetings promptly, and on the day was FANTASTIC to work with. I could tell it was a high priority of Liliana to go above and beyond for the couple in making their wedding weekend a dream experience for them and an effortless celebration for their guests. Would work here for every wedding if I could! Plus, gatherings of 70-90 are my favorite!! Thank you, Liliana and RC staff.

Clarence Reber III: Easily one of the nicest hotels I've stayed at in the US. It was our third different Ritz-Carlton location, and it surpassed the other two in terms of service and feel. Let's start with the negatives: parking garage is on the opposite side of the same block and down a hill. So if you plan to self park, unload your stuff and family first (it was cheap though, so that's a plus). Also, there's plenty signs of wear on the furniture and trims in our suite. But honestly, we didn't care about any of that. We were greeted by three door men who escorted us to seats at the concierge, and then later to our suite. The concierge was extremely welcoming, upgrading our room and offering late checkout without us having to say a thing. The complimentary glasses of champagne are a really nice touch. The suite was gigantic and I really didn't want to leave. Bed was super comfortable, the tub was awesome, and the shower was huge. The bathroom was also very large with a separate toilet/bidet station. Oh, and the extra powder room was nice. Room service brought breakfast at the exact minute it was requested, and it was really good. Cutest little bottle of hot sauce, too. I understand that I'm glowing about this space largely due to the upgraded suite, and that I'll never get that again, but I seriously cannot wait to visit here again.

Patty Arvielo: I'm sorry but hope that my review helps when making a decision on what hotel to book. This is a 3 star hotel at best, it appears as though it is a Marriott not a Ritz Carlton. For a better choice book the Four Seasons Georgetown. I have an Exec Suite , the furniture is stained and old, the mini bar has absolutely nothing in it. Just not a 5 star hotel.

Alice Greenberg: I absolutely loved my stay here! The service was amazing the entire time! I stayed in one of the "Wellness rooms" and really loved being down the hall from the spa as that was my primary reason for staying. If you're not going to the spa I'm not sure it's worth the upgrade but my room was very comfortable. I was advised at check-in that the wellness rooms were closer to construction on a neighboring building but the noise was minimal and didn't bother me at all. The food was expensive but high quality and generously portioned.

Sean C: For a high end hotel, the rooms were old, not well maintained, and very underwhelming. We were super disappointed when we got into our room. It was mediocre at best. It looks like what you would expect at one of the lower end Marriott properties, but not a Ritz. The shower is super small, the toilet is very low to the ground and uncomfortable. The bathtub was dirty, the towels were small, thin and not soft at all. The wallpaper also has stains in a number of places. The lobby of the hotel is nice and the location is good. There are two wings in the hotel and our room was in the West, so I don’t know if this is an older part of the hotel or not, but it could use major renovations for us to want to come back again.

Toni Dzinic: My wife and I had our wedding at the Ritz in their Fahrenheit Ballroom, and what a beautiful night it was! We had ~60 guests and that is about the most people I’d personally recommend for the ballroom. Liliana Klein is the person to talk to when you want to plan a wedding there and she’s such a pleasure to work with. She walked us through everything from day 1. The food was excellent, the preferred vendors were also a joy to work with. Seriously, I’ve never experienced better service at a hotel. If you’re considering having your wedding here, do it! If you’re coming here for a night or two, or just to enjoy some dinner and cocktails, you also won’t regret it. We’ll be back!

Riggs Washington DC: what do users think?

Cesar Desouza: The friendly staff is exceptional. They really care about you during your stay there. The room is comfortable, remodeled with good decor. But the bathroom is narrow, not enough for a couple to shower together. Perfect location. Close enough to all monuments and stores. The gym is well equipped and the restaurant is amazing. I recommend this hotel. Congratulations to all the staff and thank you for making my stay perfect.
Response: Dear Cesar, Thank you for choosing Riggs and sharing this great review of our hotel. It was a delight to welcome you and I'm elated to read that you enjoyed our pleasant team members and thoughtful design. We cannot wait to welcome you back again soon and introduce you to more and more of the best that Downtown DC has to offer. Yours in hospitality, Maximillian Sanson Director of Front Office

Hailey Davis: We are SO happy with our stay at the Riggs. We got the Bed and Breakfast package which was so convenient so we could start the day before DC got too busy. It’s the perfect location by amazing food choices for happy hour and dinner. We walked literally everywhere, or we took the metro railway, which has a station on the same block. The employees are happy and so kind. The rooftop view is stunning. Their bartenders take their job very seriously and they are basically artists with their drinks! Thank you for an amazing stay! We will be back.

Sherry Motta: Feels decadent. Lovely decor. Good service. Reservations even for breakfast make it convenient. Would be nice to have a few more unique/specialty items on the menu to go with the decor/ambiance. For example, we ate breakfast & enjoyed little touches like the honey lavender butter. Recommend a few more things like that to make the meal different from other places to get a meal.
Response: Dear Sherry, Welcome you and sharing our passion for delicious and eclectic menus is always a pleasure and I'm so glad you were able to enjoy some of our flairs. We're always looking for the extravagant ways of expressing ourselves and our heat for the culinary arts so we'll be sure to invent new and exciting ways to enjoy every mealtime and snack at Café Riggs and Silver Lyan. Yours in hospitality, Maximillian Sanson Director of Front Office

T & J Herzog: All around great hotel. Great location. Walking distance to all of the national sites and museums and also restaurants. Also quick walk to the convention center (we went for a volleyball tournament.)Clean and accommodating. Safe area. Fantastic customer service- especially the parking and valley service, which was extraordinarily convenient. I agree with the other comment that they treat everyone like royalty. They greet you by name as you come in and out. Highly recommend.
Response: Dear Herzog Party, It was a true pleasure to welcome you to Riggs and share our many amenities, services, and pinpoint-perfect location. I'm glad you made such good use of the latter, visiting your tournament (which I'm sure you excelled at!), the National Mall just a few blocks away and some of the best dining in the city. Our most prized element, however, has to be every member of our team. Their dedication and passion for the guest experience is always such a pleasure to indulge in. We hope to welcome you back again soon and introduce you to more and more of our wonderful team. Yours in hospitality, Maximillian Sanson Director of Front Office

Joseph Free: Wonderful hotel at a central, beautiful location. We were greeted by Antoine, who was just fantastic -- all class. He set the mood for what was a very pleasant stay. The interior decor in the building is choice, calculated, and consistent. Every placement seems deliberate. Our room was warm and inviting on the 7th floor with a picturesque view of the architecture of the Masonic Template building across the street. Our bed was comfortable, and the rooms quiet. Can't ask for more. The cafe downstairs also serves a great brunch (evident from the draw) inside or out, and their waitstaff is highly attentive. Can't recommend enough.
Response: Dear Joseph, Thank you for choosing Riggs and sharing this delightful review of our hotel! What an eye for design you have - We dedicated a lot of time to our aesthetic and cultivating a warm, welcoming, yet luxurious ambiance. With our pinpoint-perfect location, it's hard to beat. But with Antoine welcoming you and introducing you to Riggs' personable and caring culture for service, how could one resist! Thank you for taking notice. Antoine is a shining example of the service we aim to provide every day. Luxurious rooms and eclectic menus at Café Riggs round out the perfect stay. Thank you again for sharing! It was such a pleasure to welcome you and we cannot wait to see you again soon. Yours in hospitality, Maximillian Sanson Director of Front Office

Claudia Lewis: The Riggs Hotel is very nice and has a speak easy type bar downstairs. It’s in a nice area of the city with access to metro and Smithsonian. I’m giving 4 stars instead of 5 because the standard rooms are very small which is not accurately reflected on its website. The staff is amazing!!!
Response: Dear Claudia, Thank you for choosing Riggs and sharing this great review and important feedback. I'm glad you overall enjoyed your stay and were able to imbibe at Silver Lyan and explore the highlights of Downtown DC! We'd love to welcome you back again soon and introduce you to more of our luxuries, services, and features. We always try our utmost to make sure that the experience you receive at Riggs is reflected at the time of booking. We'll be sure to reflect on our presentation online to ensure this is upheld. Yours in hospitality, Maximillian Sanson Director of Front Office

katherine adelufosi: The rooms are beautiful. Close to a lot of the DC attractions.. What made it extra special is Tiffany from concierge . She went above and beyond to accommodate all my special request and needs. I truly thank her for her service.Staff is excellent and the food at Cafe Riggs is another highlight. I will definitely book here again in the future.
Response: Dear Katherine, It was a true delight to welcome you to Riggs and share so much of what makes us stand out amongst the competition. Tiffany especially is a bright, radiant example of the brilliant service we aim to provide every day to our many guests. Between the delicious food and luxurious amenities and services, we're so glad you were able to enjoy Riggs to the fullest. Yours in hospitality, Maximillian Sanson Director of Front Office

Melba M: The menu selection, ambiance and food were all amazing! The assistant manager, Ariel, was outstanding! One of our guests had a dairy allergy and Ariel was extremely helpful in making accommodations for him! We were also celebrating a birthday, and the staff made our experience exceptional! We can't wait to visit again!
Response: Dear Melba, Thank you for choosing Riggs and sharing this bright, brilliant review of our Café Riggs! We're incredibly proud of our lively energy, eclectic menus, and delicious food - but most of all we're proud of our caring and attentive team. Ariel stands out as a radiant gem of the service we all aim to produce. We cannot wait to welcome you back again soon and hope to see you at Silver Lyan too! Yours in hospitality, Maximillian Sanson Director of Front Office

Chloe Reynolds: One of the most amazing customer services experiences I have ever had, they made us feel like royalty when we were staying one short night and came in looking like a gaggle of geese. Amazing food, and truly amazing people working there. So friendly and cute and everyone there was so happy to help and wish us a wonderful stay. Never suggesting anywhere else, this is the place!
Response: Dear Chloe, Thank you for choosing Riggs and sharing this amazing review of our hotel! I'm so glad we were able to provide such lavish and thoughtful service. It's a real passion of ours (you may have noticed)! With our eclectic menus, delightful team members, and grand atmosphere, I'm so glad we were able to share so much of ourselves with you. We're impatiently awaiting your next visit. Yours in hospitality, Maximillian Sanson Director of Front Office

Queenie01: 3 stars because this place is absolutely beautiful. I love coming to DC. Their food and scenery is always good. I was visiting for 24 hours and decided to visit cafe Riggs for bunch. To my surprise it wasn’t crowded. The service I received was completely horrible. My waiter was very unimpressed and uninterested in getting my order. It seemed like I was bothering him. after he got my ordered, not once did he come back to check on me. Funny because he walked pass me a million times checking on everybody else. I’m not going to make it a race thing, but Victor do better. I don’t plan on staying at this hotel or eating this this restaurant again in the future. What’s good is the scenery and food if the service is horrible.
Response: Dear Queenie, Thank you for the kind mentions and incredibly important feedback. It was a pleasure to have you and we'll be sure to reflect on this review with my food and beverages management team so we can chase our goals of being among the very best of Washington DC. Yours in hospitality, Maximillian Sanson Director of Front Office

InterContinental the Willard Washington D.C., an IHG Hotel: what do users think?

Kelly McCarthy: Beautiful hotel. Tradition and old Washington charm surround you. Next to the White House. Built in 1918 there are so many beautiful details. Don’t miss the Famous round robin bar. Check in with seamless and the customer service was exceptional. The rooms are spotless and much of the staff has been here for generations. I highly recommend this hotel.

Hampus Engstroem: Make sure to use ʜoᴛᴇʟʙoʟʟʏ.ᴄᴏm when booking your hotel. This website will compare thousands of booking web sites and normally will have rates a lot cheaper compared to others! Thank me later on! This resort is one of the best in this area. I've been coming here for a very long time. If you stay for a few nights you definitely won't be let down. We spent the night here before the Easter egg roll at the white house. It was exceptional. Easy to get in everything was right up front. You do pay for a premium but due to the location it was well worth it. The room was clean and nice. We had the high tea and that was quite the experience. If you go during the Cherry blossom festival we have the option of drinking tea with the Cherry blossom cuttings and that was quite the experience. I would highly recommend this. We only had pastries and coffee from the cafe and they were good. It is a five-star hotel.

J Kazlauskas: The water for the toilet ran all night. The hair dryer did not work. There is a label on the room's small refrigerator stating you cannot use it for personal use unless you notified the hotel to come up to the room, empty their contents & let you use it. The valet parking, luggage handling, front lobby & cleaning staffs were very nice, friendly & fast. The lobby & outside premises were very nicely decorated for the Christmas season. Various groups performed caroling & jazz over the days we were staying there.

Hugh Shoff: We spent the night here before the Easter egg roll at the white house. It was exceptional. Easy to get in everything was right up front. You do pay for a premium but due to the location it was well worth it. The room was clean and nice. We had the high tea and that was quite the experience. Catherine Petty: Tea was lovely!! Would recommend highly for any events you have coming up. The staff was great, very helpful and the food was delicious. Surprisingly filling for it being so small. They even offer gluten free options. The harpist was also a lovely touch - she played beautifully. Will be back, especially around Christmas time!

Jess S.: I stayed here for thanksgiving back in 2019 and had a bit of an issue with concierge… the issue has since been resolved and taken care of… and all in all the room service was good and the hotel smelled fine. The hotel is beautiful but in a vintage way but … Flash forward to Feb 2022, I walked into the hotel to use the facilities and even with my mask on I noticed the lobby and hallway to the had a strong musty odor like that distinct moisture damage odor not saying that the hotel has moisture damage…but it’s clearly old and smells as such…and is in need of a renovation While I will most likely will stay at the Intercontinental in DC again in the future it will definitely be at the newer location at the Wharf

S R Das: Disappointed to see that the service at this storied Washington DC hotel has fallen substantially. This was my first stay here since the pandemic started. At the middle of the day - a busy time - there was only 1 person at the front desk. She seemed unsure of what she was doing, calling repeatedly for advice. I was second in line and had to wait 20 minutes. The line, meanwhile, was growling. Even though people asked her to get help (a second person), she ignored that. I found out later she had overcharged me (100 dollars more on the credit card, she added the deposit.) Yesterday when I got in at 950 pm thanks to a delayed flight, the front desk said that the kitchen was open for 10 minutes and would take my order. In the restaurant, however, the waiter said no. All in all, a less than ideal experience. As the person behind me said, no longer a 5-star experience and doesn’t justify the steep price.

Fairmont Washington D.C. Georgetown: what do users think?

Iris Savoy: I went to the hotel to attend a luncheon. Everything was done professionally from the Valet to entrance into the hotel. It was clean and inviting. We were escorted to reception area, check in, and inside to the venue with professionalism from the staff. The food was excellent and presented it in order. They catered to every need that we had from a coffee, more utensils, to food options they provide. I will return.

Shonta Sellers: Great stay and thoroughly enjoyed! Starbucks right across the street as well as a delicious 5-star restaurant, Blue Duck, you've got to try. Hotel bar is comfy along with the beautiful patio that had live jazz. Not far from scenic views and tourist attractions. Closest to the Ronald Reagan Airport. Definitely worth the visit.

Steph Dobson: Beautiful, well-maintained hotel. Safe and convenient location in Georgetown, about a 10-minute walk to both the Foggy Bottom and Dupont metro stops. Friendly staff and clean, quiet rooms. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will keep in mind next time we visit DC! If you are driving, just make sure to budget for the overnight valet parking.

Dawn Jenkins: Hotel is clean and very nice. The only problem I had was no vending machines for us to get drinks. They do have 24hr room service so that's a plus. Rooms were spacious and well kept.

Richard Kelly: Quiet location within walking distance of sites and the metro. Maintains a certain elegance rather than charm. Clean, inviting room. Adult rather than child oriented. Wouldn't have wanted to bring the kids.

LVER Team: *Weddings* As a wedding photographer (LVERphoto.com), this is one of my favorite spots in DC. It is elegant, spacious and full of light - which means that rain or shine, there are so many options for photo locations. The suites overlooking the courtyard are spacious and beautiful and the staff is absolutely fantastic. Our team has been here several times at different parts of the year, and every time we've been here, we've really loved every part of it. We'd highly recommend the Fairmont as a wedding venue to engaged couples looking for a chic spot in the city to host an epic party! - Sarah

dionne davis: Customer service was great.. Room was awesome. The ambiance of this hotel is great for wedding. The only thing I did not care for was the chicken sausage at breakfast. Close to Rock Park

Carey Kokkonen: The hotel is lovely, clean, and fancy shmancy, but what really makes it great are the people that work there. Everyone was kind and genuine. Above that, the hotel is pet friendly AND located next to a large dog park! The location is pretty and perfectly situated — walking distance to DuPont Circle & Foggy Bottom and to Georgetown. There are enough walkable restos and coffee shops (Das Ethiopian and Bread & Chocolate are faves worth mentioning) as well as pharmacies, groceries, etc., however, walking out of the hotel, you’re not hit with a busy street and gobs of traffic. We quite enjoyed our stay and look forward to our next visit!

H.M. LEE: At the first glance, the room looked great, but after the first night I found: there is neither shampoo nor shower gel, bathroom sink barely drains, TV remote control works poorly (volume buttons), one of two light stands doesn't work, TV looks slightly tilted (I tried to level it but I decided not to) Fantastic location cannot completely cover poor performance, especially for this room rate. I'm going to stay another night but it didn't meet my expectation so far.

Rosewood Washington, D.C.: what do users think?

C. Pine: Best hotel in Georgetown. I love the charm of this hotel right in the heart of everything. The friendliest staff and impeccable service and luxurious accommodations while steps away from shopping and more dining options. The library/reception area is a cozy and elegant pace for a nightcap or to lounge. The rooftop offers a fantastic view of the cityscape and is a great for private functions or if you need a peaceful place to hang out.
Response: Dear C. Pine: Thank you very much for this delightful review! We look forward to having you back with us in the near future! Sincerely, Rosewood Washington, D.C.

Jay Gif: Staff were friendly and helpful. Valet offered to keep Tesla charged overnight which was great! The room was THE quietest hotel room we've ever stayed in (no HVAC noise at all). Bed was comfortable, bathroom nice although some paint bubbling in ceiling. The rooftop spa and bar looked amazing but too cold to enjoy. Deducted a star for value, was very expensive and just didn't quite deliver what I felt it should at that price...
Response: Dear Mr. Gif: Thank you for your kind review of our hotel, much appreciated! I have made note of your comments and am grateful for those. We are glad that you enjoyed your stay and hope to see you again very soon. Please let us know if we can be of any assistance in the meantime. Sincerely, Gabor L. Vida Managing Director Rosewood Washington, D.C.

Shana Acquisto (Luxury Realtor): Stopped in for a drink on the rooftop. Beautiful atmosphere. Drinks were pricey and honestly a bit too much sugar for our liking but some may prefer that. Very friendly staff once we got up to the rooftop and great service.
Response: Dear Shana Acquisto: Thank you for your kind review of CUT Above and for your honest feedback. We have shared this with the team. We look forward to having you back with us soon. Sincerely Rosewood Washington, D.C.

Tania Ferguson: The Rosewood DC is remarkably disappointing. More expensive than comparable rooms at the Ritz or Four Seasons, there are essentially no luxury amenities. The pool is the size of two hot tubs. Sadly, Cut the restaurant had a kitchen fire and therefore there is no way to get anything to eat at the hotel. I had to go grocery shopping. They did not offer any discount for this inconvenience. The did make the minibar complementary except for liquor….and there is essentially nothing to eat in the minibar. The room is incredibly small and the bathroom hard to manage in its size. The “partial canal view” is just a brick wall. One must stand to look out the window if water is to be seen-and only then with great focus. More accurately this is a brick wall view. There is no spa, the fitness facility is smaller than a bathroom with no modern equipment in it except a single peleton bike with bad pedals. The fitness facility is a really big disappointment-I’ve had to find a gym to go work out at. So I’ve had to leave the premises for food, workout, spa services….It’s a travesty to the Rosewood brand. They should close the hotel and renovate, modernize-or drop the prices to reflect the current facade.
Response: Dear Ms. Ferguson: Thank you for posting your thoughts about your recent stay with us. I am very sorry that it did not meet your expectations. We, too, are very sad that the incident in the kitchen has resulted in us not being able to occupy that space and provide the In-Room Dining you were hoping for - we hope to have this matter rectified shortly. I do hope that you enjoyed the complimentary breakfast we had set up in the lounge for all our guests. I also hope that the fresh fruit bowls that we delivered to you helped the situation. The room you occupied (about 420 square feet) does have unobstructed views of the canal, I believe the brick wall to which you are referring is the exterior wall of the building on the opposite side of the canal. As you know, there is no reference to a spa on our site but we do offer in-room massage services - one of which was offered to you with our compliments. We shall review the verbiage regarding the fitness center but the listing of equipment on the page is accurate. Overall, I am sorry that we didn't meet your expectations and hope that the reduction of your room rate that was offered helped to ease this a bit. I hope we have the chance to welcome you back in the near future and be able to deliver the experience you expect. Sincerely, Timothy Edgecombe Director of Sales

Andrew Carmichael: Amazing hotel experience in a wonderful part of DC. It’s a smaller hotel that does a stellar job of balancing the finesse of a larger hotel with the intimacy of a boutique one. The team remembers everyone’s name and does to whatever they can to make your stay a memorable one.
Response: Dear Mr. Carmichael: Thank you very much for this wonderful review. We are delighted that you enjoyed the intimate experience that makes "The Gem of Georgetown" such a favourite among its guests. We hope to welcome you back in the near future. Sincerely, Rosewood Washington, D.C.

Mohsen: Enjoyed one week of stay at this hotel. Everything was perfect and felt personal. Fantastic staff.
Response: Dear Mohsen: Thank you so much for your kind comments - it was fantastic having both you and your fellow travellers with us. I sincerely hope we can welcome you back in the very near future! Sincerely, Rosewood Washington, D.C.

Mandy Jacqueline: The Lobby Bar in the Rosewood was amazing. Great service and wonderful drinks if you’re looking for high-class
Response: Dear Mandy: Thank you so much for your wonderful review! We are delighted you enjoyed your experience and look forward to having you back with us. Sincerley, CUT DC and Rosewood Washington, D.C.

Lisa Morin: This lovely, small hotel was well located in Georgetown. The room was nice, quiet and the bed was very comfortable. The service from all staff was exceptional. They attended to every detail to make our stay a great one!
Response: Dear Ms. Morin: Thank you for your kind review of our hotel, much appreciated! We are glad that you enjoyed your stay and hope to see you again very soon. Please let us know if we can be of any assistance in the meantime. Sincerely, Gabor L. Vida Managing Director Rosewood Washington, D.C.

Derrick Hoefsloot: Exquisite rooms, personalized service, excellent food, fantastic rooftop bar. Notable highlights include the front desk staff and Giovanni the rooftop bartender who remembered my wife’s favorite wine from a previous stay. Superb location, tons of nearby dining, shopping, the canal, and river walk. You will love it at the Rosewood Georgetown.
Response: Dear Derrick Hoefsloot Thank you so much for this wonderful review and rating! We are delighted that you enjoyed the hotel and the team that was here to make your stay memorable. Sincerely, Rosewood Washington, D.C.

Kelly Smith: Great hotel. Near everything in Georgetown. Service is amazing. Nicest place in the area.
Response: Dear Ms. Smith: Thank you very much for your lovely review of Rosewood Washington, D.C. We sincerely hope we have the chance to welcome you back in the very near future. Sincerely, Timothy Edgecombe Director of Sales

DC Dream Center: what do users think?

A C (sweetness10): Great for exercise and for local events! Parking is pretty good too depending on if there are other events on the same day. The staff is also very helpful!
Response: Thank you!

Vivian Mercer: It was okay for the most part. Practicing social distancing made the wait time, and line longer to get food, and other amenities. But you get free toiletries, food, and clothing that comes in handy!

Rachel Clover: This is a place where all are welcome and you are never pressured to pay anything. The staff are a great example of loving your neighbor as yourself with no hidden agenda. I definitely recommend you visit and support your city! It's also kid friendly :)

P Irene Green: This is actually one of the best job fairs that I've ever attended. I wasn't attending as a job seeker. I was attending as a Workforce Development Career Coach with my clients in mind. Each employer was total engaged with job seekers. Next time, however, I hope that the organizers hold it in a much larger venue because so many people showed up for this event. Overall, attending this job fair was absolutely time well-spent.

Tom Corcoran: This nonprofit is truly making a difference - one life @ a time. Innovative, creative!
Response: Thank you, Tom!

Habib Shamte: Great work is done here for the community
Response: Thank you, Habib!

Tee J: Excellent community services resource center, for children, young adults, and elderly. Please check out the various programs designed to meet the needs of our community.
Response: Thank you, Tee!

Margaret Pope: Community-oriented facility located in Southeast D.C. offers activities and programs for youth as well as adults. I feel honored to contribute to the DC Dream Center by volunteering in various capacities about 3 days a week.

Derek Reid: Its amazing I love it there .they care about the community.
Response: Thank you, Derek!

Josie Brown: There family oriented style an groups are good an the minister an the food is fresh an staff is Polite an the Holiday parties are excellent an the overall blg decorations are beautiful

The Watergate Hotel: what do users think?

Catherine Misleh: Worst service I’ve had in a long time - possibly ever. This rating should be negative zero stars. My mother is visiting from out of town (very far away) and I had planned a nice day to include afternoon tea for the both of us as a special treat. We do not get time together very often. Imagine our surprise and disappointment when we arrived and the restaurant had no signs of life - closed without notice. I went to the concierge desk of the Watergate and was informed it had been closed days before with no explanation and that they were sorry but the reservation must have been made through a glitch in their system. The woman behind the counter was very nonchalant and not at all concerned, even when I showed her proof of my reservation. Funny since I received both an email and two text reminders asking me to confirm, and was also charged for a prepaid tea service. The Watergate staff did not offer any recompense, said I would have to resolve the charge to my card online, and to "try Georgetown” for something today. Absolutely unacceptable! I will not be returning and will make sure to recommend against it every time. I thought it would be fun to try, but there are plenty of better other and obviously better options in the area anyway. I should add there were a couple of other guests in front of us who seemed extremely distraught by poor service and their rooms not being ready, so overall I would say this establishment should be passed over in every respect.
Response: Dear Catherine, Here at the Watergate, we make guest experience a priority. We are sorry to learn of your recent troubles with our Afternoon Tea experience. We were open for afternoon tea this day, we are investigating this matter and will be reaching out to you shortly. We thank you for sharing your feedback and hope that you will consider joining us or staying with us in the future. Regards, The Watergate Hotel

Olivier Saint-Vincent: 100% recommended!! If you are looking for a 5 stars ⭐️ hôtel in DC, this is the one. It was perfectly located for us between Georgetown and the Mall (walking distance), and very quiet at the same time. Gym, pool, jacuzzi, library, breakfast are great. You can walk by the Potomac easily… and it’s one of the best rooftop in DC. The architecture is beautiful and bold. The staff is very attentive and always there to help. We can say that the new GM know how to make a stay unforgettable!!!
Response: Dear Olivier, WOW! Thank you for leaving such a detailed and shining review. We are so pleased to hear you decided to stay with us for your visit to DC and made use of our outlets during your enjoyable stay. We will share your feedback to our wonderful GM and our entire team. Please come back soon, we'd love to have you as a guest again. Regards, The Watergate Hotel

Adam Galazka: Absolutely stunning hotel. Amazing location by the Potomac River. Walking distance to many different stores and restaurants. Check in was great. Valet parking on site for $58 a night. Rooms are spacious and the most comfortable bed. Some rooms do have balconies with waterviews but they are a little dirty. When trying to call the front desk it took awhile for them to answer the phone. Besides a couple of those negative we would definitely come back.
Response: Dear Adam, Thank you for a detailed review. It was a pleasure to have you as a guest at The Watergate Hotel. We will be sure to share your remarks with our team. We hope to see you again soon! Regards, The Watergate Hotel

Denny: Obviously a great hotel. Beautiful and clean rooms and amenities. So modern and its history is cool and embraced throughout the entire vibe of the hotel. However, I had kindly asked them to put roses in my Suite Room for Valentine's Day, and, after assuring me they would, there were no flowers or anything in the room, and, on top of that, they double charged me and held us up for 30 minutes at Check-In while I was with my girlfriend trying to get to bed late at night(later corrected and attributed to third-party booking?). A final nail in the coffin, in the morning, a hotel representative entered our room without our permission before our Check-Out time to "put the temperature at 72" and apologized because the room was supposed to be "empty." Truthfully it feels like it could be an unlucky experience at a good hotel, and I might even still recommend it if its within your budget for its pure elegance. But I really thought after all that, they'd give me a night free at least.
Response: Dear Deniz Mete, We are sorry to hear that you had mixed feelings about your stay at The Watergate Hotel. Thank you for taking the time to leave a detailed review. It is important for us to that all guests have a seamless experience. We will have a member of our team reach out to you. Please feel free to reach out to us with any questions, comments or suggestions at info@thewatergatehotel.com. We hope to welcome you back soon for a chance to provide a more improved stay. Regards, The Watergate Hotel

A. H.: Disappointing experience this time around. I’ve stayed at this hotel a few times in the past, but recently it’s gone a little downhill. The mandatory valet parking definitely needs improvement, as the attendants take 20-30 minutes to retrieve or even park your car. They were not at all friendly, barely spoke English, and left my car reeking of weed or tobacco smoke. Absurdly expensive rates given the terrible service. A cheap motel could’ve handled valet parking better. Embarrassing! Room and location are great. Front desk staff are super friendly. But frankly the valet service was so consistently awful over three days, that I probably won’t return again (at least not with a car).
Response: Dear A. H,, Thank you for being a repeat guest at The Watergate Hotel and for your kind comments about the room and location. We are sorry that your experience with valet did not meet your expectations. Our team strives to provide top service and it is unfortunate that you had to encounter this experience. We have shared your feedback with our team. We hope to make it up to you again soon. Regards, The Watergate Hotel

Preeti Dawane: While the staff was great, the hotel itself cannot call itself luxury by any stretch of the imagination. On our arrival to our rooms, our bedsheets were DIRTY WITH STAINS. I have stayed at 3 star hotels where I have NEVER encountered such an issue. For the prices they charge, the Watergate is absolutely not worth the stay. The only reason this hotel gets ANY stars is because of the staff who took care of us. I definitely don’t include all of the front desk staff in that praise. I also was never contacted about the issue with the sheets. I had to follow up about the issue. We also have not received our itemized bill following check out. I’ve really never been more disappointed with a “luxury” hotel than this one. I will NEVER stay here again. Such a rip off.

Princess Good: Overall, this hotel is nice and I would probably stay at it again if I had to. Our double room seemed smaller in person when compared to the online pictures. The modern half-door for the shower was very weird. I don't think the tub was being cleaned while we were there for more than three days. Everything else was decent. I noticed the hotel is not very sustainable. It doesn't seem like they recycle there.
Response: Dear Princess, It was a pleasure to have you as a guest at The Watergate Hotel. Thank you for a detailed review and for sharing your honest feedback. As part of our sustainability measures to save water, we have cards in each room to leave when you want a full cleaning as well as a recycling initiative. We hope to see you again soon. Regards, The Watergate Hotel

Anne: Great views and ambiance. They have blue light gas fireplaces in the middle of the group tables which are really nice. I know every review mentions it, the reviews mention it for a reason: they serve you $18 cocktails from plastic cups! ALSO: PARTIES OF 8 OR MORE HAVE A $100 MINIMUM PER PERSON. It's on their website in small print, but that should be in large print.
Response: Dear Anne, Thank you for your feedback. We are thrilled to hear you enjoyed the views and ambiance of Top of the gate. We will share your comments with our team members. We look forward to welcoming you back soon! Regards, The Watergate Hotel

Andrew Nelle: Beautiful inside and out! Wonderful staff, very accommodating and eager to please. Anwar showed us the infamous Scandal Room 205, this is the room where all the presidential drama of 1972 went down. This hotel ain't cheap, be prepared for the 29$ resort fee and the 50$ parking fee on top of your regular room rate. Pool, hot, tub and sauna are unreal, all saltwater infused. I highly recommend this spot!😎👍
Response: Dear Andrew, Thank you for your review and recommendation. We are so glad you had a wonderful stay and were able to view the Scandal Suite and enjoy Argentta Spa. We cannot thank you enough for choosing The Watergate Hotel as your hotel of choice while in DC - we hope to see you soon! Regards, The Watergate Hotel

Christina Thompson: The valet and bell service was great. However a love cockroach was found in a towel when husband showered. The front desk didn't answer phone after several attempts when we couldn't connect to the wifi. Also, out refrigerator was barely cool. Lastly, the tempering control wouldn't chill the room under 75 degrees.
Response: Dear Christina Thompson, Thank you for your review. We are thrilled to hear of your wonderful experience with our valet and bell service team. We appreciate your feedback and have shared your comments with our operations team. Regards, The Watergate Hotel

Extended Stay America - Washington, D.C. - Reston: what do users think?

Dee Dee Madison: Extended Stay in Reston VA The room smelled like stale food. In the morning when I turned on the shower, I could a smoke residue. The rooms are visually clean but run down a bit. The bed was very firm but okay to sleep on. Take your own pillow. The noise from the parking lot and room above kept me up all night. The rooms do not have coffee makers. There is pretty good coffee in the small check in space. Not recommended for families.
Response: It was disappointing to read that we did not meet your expectations, and we are truly sorry your stay was anything other than perfect. We are taking appropriate steps to ensure future guests do not encounter the same issues. We hope you will accept our apologies and consider giving us another chance to show you the outstanding service that we typically provide. Sincerely, Hotel Management

Kevin Russell: The rooms are standard for this chain. When bed for 2 full beds I believe. Small kitchen with stove, no oven. The location for this property is perry good. Has a few fast food and a few sit down restaurants within a block or two. Also a super target across the street. Coin laundry on site. The management is pretty good and nice. Dishes and cookware available upon request. If you book on their app, and stay over 7 days, you usually get a much better rate. So, if you need a hotel and don't want to spend a ton, it's worth your time.

Chasiti Foster: I went down to visit my sick friend that was staying there. Noori I believe her name was, was so helpful to me. I explained my friend was extremely sick. They don't have ice at the hotel but given her condition and the news I had received after getting there. The gentleman was willing to go across street just to get her a big of ice. They were so HELPFUL, FRIENDLY AND EMPATHETIC. I would highly recommend this place if you are in the area and need a room.
Response: Chasiti, thank you for sharing your feedback. We are glad to read your with us was an enjoyable one and liked the service provided by our staff. We will share your compliments with the team. We hope to see you and your friend again soon at Extended Stay America. Sincerely, Hotel Management

josh Fried: Relaxing location right off the Dulles toll road. Within easy distance to DC without the cost of DC hotels inside the beltway. Room was clean, service was efficient and staff was polite. Shout-out to Zafar for helping me get signed in and setup quickly and efficiently.

Melanie Balmick: Our non-smoking "suite" reeked of cigarette smoke. Kitchenette had a stove that took very long to heat up. No kitchen utensils provided. Found mold near the refrigerator. Hair in the bathtub. Dust along every inch of moulding. Every wall had a stain. Carpet permanently stained in multiple areas with things like chewing gum. Only plus was location. Thankfully it's right across from Target so we were able to "get away" from the Nasty room.

Hamir Bharwad: Have meet many people out there, Sis from Afghanistan and Two Gentlemen at front desk. All are very nice informative and knowledgeable. Need more choices in Breakfast. Rooms are good, location is safe and very well located like Banks, Restaurants, Target, bus stops all are in walking distance

Игорь Сикорский: I have been here for a week. My room is clean and well maintained. All the staff has been extremely helpful. I would like to note that Zafar (front desk) has been extremely helpful during my stay in Reston

Sriparna Banerjee: We lost our few things in the room. My kid's bag, pencils, crayons, few important documents. Mistakenly we left these in the room. After checkout we called the person at front desk, but he denied and informed nothing was there in the room. In the last reply no one even replied for this issue .
Response: Dear Sriparna, please accept our sincere apologies for the issues you experienced while staying with us. We take the safety of our guests very seriously, so we are sorry this happened during your stay. If we can be of assistance while the authorities investigate, please do not hesitate to reach out to us. Also, we have shared your feedback with our breakfast staff as we continually strive to improve our guest experience. Thank you for your feedback, and we hope you will stay with us again. Sincerely, Hotel Management

Hyatt Regency Washington On Capitol Hill: what do users think?

Maureen Jackson: Staff were beyond friendly and always smiling. Made our stay very enjoyable. Rooms were clean and so quiet. The restaurant was awesome from the breakfast to dinner. We ate a few times in restaurant and the wait staff remembered us and made it very homey. Quality of food was excellent. Never had a bad meal. Best hotel experience for us in a long time. Within easy walking distance of the mall
Response: Hello Maureen, We are glad the staff made your stay enjoyable, that is just wonderful! We are happy your experience staying with us was the best hotel experience you have had in a long time. Thank you for your kind comments they are truly appreciated, we hope to welcome you back soon! Best Regards, Anisa

Lisa Van Aartsen: Service excellent, rooms clean, like the efficiency yet stylish way it is styled. Lights too bright in the bathroom and unable to decrease. Used a bath towel over the light to dim it down. Would be nice to have bottles of water in room to go with coffee maker... right? Grab and go currently for meals at the restaurant. Not much for choices. Very nice store including Starbucks coffee, very appreciative of that. Sheets very smooth, pleasant, bed comfy, could be better, could be worse. Nicely located. Will go again.
Response: Hello Lisa, Thank you for taking the time to leave your feedback on your recent stay with us. We do apologize for any inconvenience the lights in the bathroom may have caused you. We are glad you thought the bed was comfortable and happy to hear you liked the location. We value our guests' insights and feedback so we can improve our operations. We hope to welcome you back soon! Best, Anisa

Jeff Ery: Room was awful. Beds were super soft and the room temp was set at 65 but I felt as hot as fish grease in lent. Woke up in a sweat every night. Location was awesome though. Breakfast was good too. Bar has stiff drinks. The room though.... Yech.
Response: Evening Jeff Ery, Thank you for the honest feedback of your stay. We appreciate all guest comments and feedback. We are working on making changes and will be updating our hotel in the near future. Glad that overall other than the room, your stay was enjoyable. Tonia

Brendan Williams: Location, location, location. And don't they know it! In all the years I have stayed there for conferences it feels like only the lobby has been updated. Rest of the property is very dated. Careful in adjusting your shower head that you don't pull it out of the wall. But your room will be clean, and, again, location.
Response: Evening Brandan Williams, We appreciate and respect all guest comments and feedback. We also appreciate you taking the time to share your experience with us. Thank you for continuing to patronize our property. We are working on having renovations done in the near future. Tonia

Kim Jensen: We had a wonderful stay and everyone was so friendly. If I ever go back to DC this is where I would stay again. Word of warning, make sure you know what direction you're heading when you leave the hotel. In one direction you get some pretty bad vibes and have some shady characters that'll start following you. And the other direction there's a wonderful shopping and restaurants and all the tourists spots. The hotel was lovely and we appreciated our stay.
Response: Hello Kim Jensen, Thank you for your kind review! I'm so glad that you had such a wonderful experience at our hotel. We appreciate your feedback and thank you for your tips for other future guests. We are flattered that you choose to stay at our hotel for future visits to DC. We can't wait to welcome you back! Best Regards, Toya

Brenda Orffer: The Hyatt Regency is a great location for easy access to capital buildings (meetings), great food and restaurants, and to DCA Airport. Right now, April 1, the hotel is not offering room service, and housekeeping is not provided unless requested. Otherwise, things seem to be all systems go. Masks are encouraged but not required. The hotel has hand sanitizer stations throughout as well. The desk and office chair in the rooms are not well matched for height. Very uncomfortable seating for a long period of time. Thankfully there is lots of lobby and social space to find a place to work more comfortably. There is a small fridge in the room, but no water is stocked in the room. You can get bottled water from front desk and valet desk if you request it.
Response: Dear Brenda Orffer, Thank you for the feedback on your visit. We are happy you enjoyed our convenient location to the nearby restaurants and the airport. We appreciate the insight on our desks in the guest rooms and are pleased you were able to use the space in our lobby area to work comfortable. Thank you for staying with us and we hope to welcome you back soon! Warm regards, Tonya

Melissa Lutz: Nice hotel near the Capitol. Room was not huge but was comfortable. A little pricey, but the location was very convenient to the Mall. Don't park at the hotel...you can park for a third the cost at Colonial Parking Garage around the corner. Staff were all very nice and accommodating.Would stay here again.
Response: Hello Melissa Lutz, Thank you for leaving us a review. I'm happy to hear that you enjoyed your stay with us. It's always great to hear that our staff were all friendly and helpful. We appreciate the parking tip. I hope that you will stay with us again soon! Best Regards, Toya

Staybridge Suites Washington D.C. - Greenbelt, an IHG Hotel: what do users think?

Lainy D: I can’t describe enough how grateful I am for the attentive and kind staff and excellent rooms. I stayed here for several months and never had issues. Anything I needed help on the staff promptly took care of. The food was good and the rooms were spacious, clean, and comfortable. I so enjoyed staying here and had such an excellent experience. The front desk workers even knew my name after a while and were such a pleasure to interact with. The housekeeping staff was equally pleasant and did a great job. This is the perfect place to stay both short and long term. 11/10 :)

Kristi Melchior: I absolutely loved it here!!!! I had surgery and had to stay a week! This place is so comfortable and the kitchen area is beautiful, clean fully stocked with pots, pans, dishes, silverware just need food and drinks...near a ton of places to eat! Giant grocery store right behind here! The bed was so comfy...staff was amazing! I could go on and on...I'd most certainly would stay here time and time again!! Free delicious breakfast buffet too!!

Beth Bailey: We had a 2 bedroom suite (King + 2 Queens). It was convenient to DC. The service (of the front desk staff and those in breakfast/evening social) was quality. Pros: plenty of room for my 5 kids, full fridge & counter in room, some basic cooking things, shower for parents & tub shower for kids, doors to bedrooms, clean upon arrival, front desk staff was nice, mini waffles at breakfast Cons: furniture & things had wear (rip in couch arm, non-functional can opener), tiny cooktop, didn't know we had to request housekeeping to get fresh towels and empty trash Service only down a star because they didn't tell us housekeeping required a request. (This is a new, common thing, but we haven't traveled much since covid and didn't know.)

Bertha Terry: The outside was beautiful, the inside was beautiful. The front desk service was warm and friendly and very helpful. But the rooms need a upgrade on the furniture and the mattresses we very hard and the bedding needs upgrading. Rooms need to be cleaned on weekends as well.

Rebecca Phillips: Two words: no coffee. Ok, there’s actually more. The room I was given on check in smelled like someone had smoked in it, and then they’d drenched it in air freshener to hide the smell. It was awful. The front desk person was kind and polite though and gave me a different room. It wasn’t great but it was definitely better. I asked for ice and they said I could just turn the ice maker on in my room and have ice in about 15 mins. Don’t fall for this - it didn’t make ice! Then in the morning…no coffee?! Coffee maker was broken…for heaven’s sake order a couple boxes of coffee from Dunkin then! It’s not hard. Also note: they seem to have a party problem as they make you sign a “no parties” agreement. That’s fine. But they also take a $250 deposit, which if you’re not ready for it could be a shock at check in. It wasn’t horrible, but overall, the stay wasn’t worth the money I paid for it.

Homewood Suites by Hilton Washington DC Convention Center: what do users think?

Derek Kruger: Remember to use ʜoᴛᴇʟʙoʟʟʏ.ᴄᴏm when booking your stay. This website will compare countless hotel sites and typically will have rates much cheaper compared to others! You're welcome :)! This hotel is one of my favorites in this area. I have been staying here for a long time. If you stay for a few days you won't be let down. The staff is absolutely amazing! Close to the bus line and metro. Dog park right across the street. Police station on the corner (felt incredibly safe). Grocery store across the street. Our room was very spacious and perfect for two adults (one disabled and traveling with a wheelchair and crutches), our 13 yo son and our 150 lb service animal. We had plenty of room. The staff is simply amazing and very friendly and accommodating.

Kristine Habetler: The staff is absolutely amazing!

Sophia Coren: Friendly staff and decent breakfast but they are understaffed so requests take a few hours. They also had run out of shampoo and conditioner when we stayed. Room: We stayed in a one bedroom suite. The room was clean, modern, and spacious. I do wish the room had come with a desk chair in addition to the normal wood chairs as I was working remotely. The kitchen did not come well stocked. Our room had one small pot and lid; one large lid but no matching pot; and several knives and forks but only one big spoon. The bathroom did not come with shampoo or conditioner because the hotel ran out (they were not resupplied before we left so we never actually got any). The shower was large and the water pressure was good. Staff: Friendly but clearly understaffed as requests took a few hours. Location: Pretty good location within walking distance of the national mall.

daescha johnson: Several different guests I overheard at the front desk never received a blanket for their pull-out sofa bed that slept paying adults, because the hotel simply didn't have any. We had to check in well passed the check-in time and had to take a different room because our room still wasn't ready. Even though it's advertised in rooms and the lobby, the "evening socials" (snack/dinner buffet) aren't happening..but the breakfast buffet still is. (??) The snacks in our suite were not replenished each day as our in-room plaque suggested they would be. The nicest people we spoke to were the cleaning lady and the morning cook. Don't expect any communication, apologies, or help from anyone at the front desk, even if you're a patient guest.

Tiffany Michelle: Upon arriving, an early check in was offered. I left my bags and went to explore the city. I received a call from the front desk saying that the early check in was available. I went back to the hotel and it was past the original check in. The day manager was gone and the next person denied calling and said our room was in fact not ready. We waited for several minutes then issued a room. When we finally made it up to the room. The room was dirty with pet hair on the floor and the door not opening properly. We had to use force each time we needed to open or close it. The room was hot and the thermostat was locked. Engineering was called 3 times with no improvement in the room temperature. Staying in a hotel where you can’t adjust the temperature is awful. We were offered a room change around midnight. We moved into another room after two miserable nights with no air conditioning. I was offered a room credit for the inconvenience and terrible service. When I went to check out, there were no notes on the account. The manager said he would ask his employees and call me back. Of course, he never called. The room was very overpriced to have such a terrible experience.
Response: Hi Tiffany Michelle - We are sorry to hear you were disappointed with your stay. Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback with us regarding your room and our service. We will work internally to make adjustments. Please reach out to us at https://help.hilton.com/s/contactsupport or call us at (202) 628-4663. We look forward to hearing from you.

Celeste Swanson: All the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful...especially Shaquita! The room was very clean and spacious. The breakfast was also fantastic! The breakfast area was super clean, and they had plenty of each food item. The pullout couch was somewhat uncomfortable, but everything else was great!

Fletcher Falls: I want to start off by saying that the front line staff at this location was extremely friendly and were as helpful as they could be. This review is directed at the management team. My issues are as followed. 1. Currently I have been overbilled by $65 and they are unable to correct it. 2. The pet policy is not clearly stated. it states pets are welcome but there is no information in the large print that there is additional charge. It just states to give them a heads up. Which I did. 3. I asked for late check-out when I booked told it was not a problem I even called. Then when I get there they told me I could not have a late check out. As they were fully booked the next day. 4. We rent a King suite with a pull out couch to sleep a family of four which was our intention. Unfortunately the hotel could only supply a bed sheet for the pull out couch and no blanket. They told me there was supposed to be one in the room there was not one. I called the front desk and they said all their laundry was out being cleaned so they could not provide one. There was no mention of reimbursement for this slip in service. When I called to discuss these things I was not happy with how it was settled. They basically said it was a me problem. Currently my stay which online stated would cost me $193 including taxes is costing me $350 including taxes. Just killing you with the extras in fine print. Pet stay $50, car parking $49 and what ever else they overbilled me on. Just make this information more upfront so people can make an informed decision. I will be avoiding Homewood suites until they can be upfront with their guests.
Response: Hello Fletcher Falls - We are so sorry to hear about these issues you had to deal with while staying with us. We are looking into this internally. Please reach out to us at https://help.hilton.com/s/contactsupport so that we can follow up with you directly. This would be a tremendous help to us in resolving these issues.

Carolyn Tomaino: Really beautiful hotel, a 1 mile walk straight down to the white house in a quaint "brownstone-like" neighborhood. Safeway with a Starbucks right across the street. Staff was incredibly kind and helpful. Handicapped room was a little snug but we made it work. Kitchen stovetop had a hood, which kept the smoke detector from going off when we cooked steaks for Christmas dinner. Not much parking beyond the pricey valet but they worked quickly and it was worth the price. We will be back!

TASHA HARRISON: LOCATION LOCATION LOCATION. If you need to be near the DC convention center, this is your spot. It is a quick like 7 min walk. It is located by great restaurants AND across the street from a grocery store, which is awesome since the hotel suites have a kitchen. The price was high but compatible with others in the area. Very nice staff. Comp breakfast was sufficient; hot and cold items. The fitness center has good equipment. I would definitely recommend. Garage parking at the hotel is $49 per day. Again about the same for other hotels. So if you dont need a car, dont bring it.

Silvia Goulart: I have just checked in. room is terrible! everything outdated. the desk chair has a hole on it. dirty walls, door…. all the glasses are dirty. there is remaining soap from past guest on the soap dish inside the shower, not to mention pubic hair all over. water by the toilet floor. bath towels I wouldn’t give my dogs and only 2 bath towels for 3 guest on the reservation . thought I should trust hilton brand. extremely disappointed.
Response: Hi Silvia Goulart - Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback and for staying with us. Please accept our apologies for your unpleasant experience. As the cleanliness of our hotel is a key priority, we are very sorry your room fell short of our high standards. Please rest assured that your comments have been shared to foster improvements. For this reason, we hope to have the opportunity to deliver a more pleasant experience on a return visit.

Larz Anderson House: what do users think?

Kaitlyn Cole: Walking into the Anderson House will take your breath away. This building exudes an unparalleled feeling of opulence and historic charm. Surrounded by the grand chandeliers, marble staircase, monumental ornate frames and reflecting pool, you will feel like royalty everywhere you turn. Every corner of this exquisite wedding venue makes for a perfect photo background.

rachel robertello: Super interesting museum that works as an AMAZING wedding venue. The team is very responsive and works smoothly with all vendors to make the day run perfectly. We are so glad we found the Anderson House as an option for our wedding and that they were available.

Trevor Joyce: The Anderson House museum is one of my favorite museums in D.C. It is quiet yet packed with so many beautiful architectural details. It consists mostly of several large rooms but the entire left wing of the building is for private use and is thus not open to public visitors. The guided tours are time efficient and professional but I find it best to visit when they host events and musical performances.

Klaire Dixius: As a wedding photographer, Larz Anderson House served as a stunning backdrop for our couple's wedding. Highly recommend!

Kyla Jeanette: Anderson House hosted my wedding on New Years Eve and I must say it was the most mind-blowing experience I could have imagined. Glenn was so accommodating and always so happy to help us. The day of the wedding, he had a way of making you feel like you were the only bride in the world. The venue itself is incredibly photogenic & historical. It felt as though we were welcomed in someone's home. It truly is a magnificent experience and I would HIGHLY recommend to anyone to host your wedding at this venue. Thank you Glenn and the team at Anderson House. You made our dreams come true, in such a special and memorable way.

Olga Crawford: The tour of the house is superb. The house looks like the Breakers.

Austin Graff: The Anderson House is a 1905 mansion in Dupont Circle once owned by Larz and Isabel Anderson. Larz married into Isabel's wealth and together they built this house as their D.C. home. When Larz left Isabel a widow in 1938, she gave the house (with everything inside) to the Society of the Cincinnati, the oldest patriotic society in the country. Today the society keeps the mansion open for free tours and houses the Revolutionary War Institute, a research center. Tuesday-Saturday from 10am-4pm, free tours are offered by the docents. The tour lasts a little over an hour and you'll get to walk through most of the mansion (it's the only way to see the rooms). You'll hear about how the Society was started by soldiers of the Revolutionary War tasked with keeping freedom alive and taking care of the war's widows and orphans. You'll hear how current membership works, George Washington's involvement, and a lot about Larz Anderson, a Society member, and his wife. The house itself is huge and was cutting edge for its day with electricity and modern heating. The bottom floor has a large hall for entertaining, the library, an outdoor courtyard, and several other rooms. Upstairs has the dining room, entertaining rooms, and a giant hallway. The third floor is not open for tours, but houses thirteen guest rooms for members of the Society. The mansion is decorated with historic art and statues from the Anderson's extensive travels. The Anderson House does have a small museum on the bottom floor and the space is used for events like weddings.

Robert Brown: We attended my nephew's Wedding there. Elegant, historically significant, entirely unique and very special place.

Daniel Sweeney: Beautiful Washington DC Historic site. Very unique and pretty rooms. Outdoor space is great for events. Wedding here was great, and they hosted well.

Kelly Mattesen: Very impressive mansion! Our tour guide Stacia was amazing, funny and very knowledgeable. When this museum opens you should not miss it on your next trip! It is a hidden gem...and it is free!

Hyatt Regency Bethesda: what do users think?

The Maldonado’s: Great location and amenities. Morton's is one of my favorites, and they are located in many nice hotels like this one. Make sure you visit on the evening. Our tour had breakfast arrangements, missed the eggs on the last two mornings of the trip. To their credit, staff was kind, attentive and accommodating. Starbucks in the house too... (for those Cafe lovers like us) Safe "business" area, and parking is just around the corner. Modern feel with plenty to do around the hotel.
Response: Thanks for the 4/5 review, The Maldonado’s! We're thrilled to hear that you had a great experience with us! It's wonderful that you loved our location, many amenities, and on-site restaurant, along with our friendly staff! We'd love to have you back again soon to share an even more positive experience with you. Have a great day! If your next visit to our hotel is for any meetings, stop by and see Dorian for the ultimate old-fashioned shoe shine experience! Amit Verma Hotel Manager

Eva S: It’s a good business hotel, quiet standard, could be any brand really. Pros and cons below: PROS: Large spacious room with nice expansive views onto the main street, gets good light during the day. Comfy bed. There’s a desk to work at if need be. Nice staff at the hotel, very accommodating and caring. Very clean, good observation of covid rules etc Food served during the event was good too, tasty, good temperature- I recommend the current kitchen staff can certainly cater for breakfast too. Areas to IMPROVE: No breakfast, no pool/spa; the air in the hotel was so dry most event delegates were complaining about difficulty to sleep at night, myself included - I strongly recommend to get lots and lots of green plants, maybe install some air humidifiers for the winter months. The shower head was full of limescale - need to check those details and replace. Maybe add a picture(s) in the room, some softer interior details - interior now looks so sterile, plain
Response: Thank you for the 4/5 rating, Eva! We're happy you had a pleasant stay with us and appreciated our spacious rooms, lighting, cozy beds, accommodations, amazing team, cleanliness, delicious food, and protocols. It's unfortunate you had such challenges with our amenities, air, showers, and decorations. We're disappointed we couldn't accommodate your needs and fix the problem. We hold ourselves to a higher standard. We'll address your concern with our team moving forward. We strive for excellence so we look forward to sharing an even better experience with you soon! Amit Verma Hotel Manager

Walt S: A little disappointed that they didn't have a pool, but the bedding and pillows were actually the most frustrating. The sheets were so stiff and noisy that my wife and I woke each other up every time we moved. The pillows were so soft that they almost instantly went flat when you laid on them. I requested extra pillows for the second night and stacked them, which helped somewhat. It's an attractive hotel with a very friendly and seemingly competent staff, but missing some common amenities you'd expect even from a much cheaper hotel.
Response: Thank you for the great review, Walt! We're happy you had a pleasant experience with us! It's lovely you enjoyed our property and interacting with our team so much. That's what we like to see! However, we regret that our bedding and amenities didn't meet your expectations. We endeavor to offer a top-notch experience for our guests so we'll be sure to discuss your concerns moving forward. We look forward to hosting you again soon for an even better experience! Amit Verma Hotel Manager

Devin Campbell: I have absolutely nothing bad to say about the Hyatt Regency in Bethesda. We stayed for three days. The rooms, service, and location were perfect. The hotel is situated directly on top of the Bethesda Red Metro station, so traveling into DC was quick and easy. Just a few blocks away is a great area of Bethesda with shops and restaurants. The Morton's Steakhouse onsite was terrific. We will definitely stay here again when we visit the DC area.
Response: Devin, This positive review brought a smile to our faces! It's great to know you loved our quality accommodations and service, and location, and had a great time at Hyatt Regency. Thanks so much for sharing your feedback. We'd be happy to welcome you in again when you're in the area! Amit Verma General Manager

Richmond: The staff, especially Alex, was more than accommodating to our entire family. The hotel has a spirit of excellence and was polished clean! I would absolutely recommend for anyone to stay here...definitely 5 stars. Other hotels should look at this facility and mimic absolute professionalism and perfection in hospitality like The Hyatt Regency Bethesda!!
Response: Thank you for the lovely review, Richmond! It's excellent your time with us was so fantastic! We're thrilled our team took such wonderful care of you. Alex is a treasured member of our team so it's not surprising you felt so welcome and comfortable. That's what we like to see! We can't wait until your next visit so we can share another amazing experience with you, Richmond! For your next visit, don't forget that we're located right above the metro station! Amit Verma General Manager

Gloria Gilmore: Nice hotel very close to venue I was attending. Actually walked from hotel. Hotel was a little hard to find but we did. They had the best concierge and the front desk was very helpful.. The best part was when we got into the elevator and did not know we had to scan our key card to get it to work, so we got off and were talking about it, an associate overhead us stopped what he was doing and took time to show us what to do.
Response: Thanks for the splendid review, Gloria! It's fantastic you had such an excellent experience with us and that our team took such great care of you. We want you to feel right at home as soon as you walk through our doors! Our team will love to hear they made such a wonderful impression on you. We look forward to hosting you again soon so we can share another amazing experience with you. For your next visit, don't forget that there is nothing like a deep tissue massage after a long day of travel or after that great workout! Spa Ala Carte offers many services in the privacy of your guestroom, and is just a phone call away! Amit Verma General Manager

Omar Qureshi: Recently stayed here for a school reunion. Excellent service from Alex Molina at the front desk. A very modern and clean hotel, located right next to the Bethesda Metro station and restaurants and shops on Bethesda Row. Great place to stay when visiting Washington, DC and the surrounding areas. It is definitely on my list of places to stay when I travel to the area again.
Response: Thank you for the excellent review, Omar! We're thrilled your time with us was so amazing! We endeavor to go above and beyond to ensure our guests have a memorable experience. It's not surprising that Alex took such wonderful care of you and made you feel so valued. He is an important member of our team! We look forward to hosting you again soon for another fantastic experience! For your next visit, don't forget to get that jog or bike ride in on The Capital Crescent Trail. It's over 11 miles of scenic and historic sites, connecting Bethesda to Georgetown, Silver Spring and DC. More than one million walkers, joggers, bikers, skate boarders and rollerbladers' use that trail ever year! Amit Verma Hotel Manager

Dennis Drew: This place is just ok. The rooms are clean and the metro is convenient. The town is dead on the weekend, so you'll have to metro to anything interesting. The hotel doesn't own the parking garage that it literally sits on top of, so they have very limited leeway in the parking prices and whatnot. They billed me random amounts in addition to my folio which is annoying to resolve.
Response: Thank you for taking the time to share your 4/5 review with us, Dennis. We're thrilled to hear you had such an enjoyable experience with us. We care about the comfort and satisfaction of our guests so we appreciate you letting us know what we can do to make your stay perfect. We'll make sure to communicate your feedback to the appropriate members of our team so that we may improve moving forward. We're looking forward to sharing a more enjoyable experience with you soon. Thank you again! Amit Verma Hotel Manager
