The LINE DC: what do users think?

Corry: We stayed at The Line for three nights and I wish we could have stayed longer! Prior to our arrival the front desk staff were friendly and helpful on the phone with fantastic dinner suggestions and tips for getting around via public transit. We arrived early and were expecting to leave our bags at the front desk but the employee was very accommodating and checked us in. The room was lovely. Incredibly clean bathroom and bedroom, a beautiful view, comfortable bed, and very quiet. We enjoyed downtime either at the rooftop mini bar at night watching planes fly in to Reagan air port or during the day on the patio out front of the hotel. Truly a beautiful hotel and spectacular staff. 10/10 would recommend!!

Mollie Young: Everything about our experience was incredible. The staff is warm and hospitable, the room was spacious and tasteful (with great city views), and the amenities cannot be beat! We were so excited to use the gym and couldn’t get over equipment options — there’s something for everyone! The hotel restaurant, No Goodbyes, is also a must. The service is excellent and the food is fantastic. Definitely have a cocktail at the bar before or after dinner and check out the coffee shop the next morning. Everything about our stay was wonderful, and we are already planning our return visit!

Sara Urtz: Our stay was okay, not great. For the price, I was expecting great. There’s nothing really special about this hotel. There was no fridge to keep waters we brought in (besides the minibar which was full of drinks to buy) and the curtains are paper thin, letting in so much light it was hard to sleep. Great location and staff was friendly, but nothing special besides that.

Anna Ponamarchuk: Hotel is amazingly beautiful! It looks like Spanish parlament house from outside and it looks like a design studio from incite! So beautiful! Sweet Rachel was there the the mornings both days I was staying. She rescued my life with all the printing for my embassy apartment. She was kind, bubbly, and so helpful! I have a hotel my self and would definitely love to work with her! Kenny helped me on the phone after I checked out. These guys are great! They complete my wonderful stay in The Line DC Definitely recommend and will come back!

Kevin Shim: Staff is friendly. Location is good. Room was decent. The Line DC has everything that typically comes with a 5-star hotel. A restaurant, a gym, conference rooms, and valet parking. The hotel entrance is on the side of the building! Keep in mind that valet parking is going to be $59 per night, which may be worth it since it’s difficult to street park in DC. Due to zoning laws, you’ll only be able to street park for 2-3 hours at most unless you have a resident sticker. The area (it’s called Adams Morgan) has a variety of food options, and generally safe to go out at night. At the time of this writing (early 2022), there was a noticeable homeless presence on the streets of DC. Most are harmless and will leave you alone. The hotel room is decent. The sink water gets scaldingly hot, which you may or may not like. The shower head has strong pressure, so the water will give you a massage. Some of the furnishings in the room seem cheaply done. For example, the power cord for the free standing lamp is fixed onto the wall with some cheap plastic. Some of these fixtures were coming off the wall when I was there. Overall, decent 5-star hotel. Nothing extraordinary.

photog1976: One of the worst restaurant experiences ever. Our waiter forgot dishes and then forgot again for another 25min once reminded and chose to blame the kitchen staff rather than seeking to resolve the situation and make a simple apology. He then slammed down the plates when serving, gave our family the stink eye and walked off without saying a word. We made sure to be polite and respectful the whole time, but this place is just full of staff who think they’re too good for their job. Food was nothing to write home about. Was much better with previous owners.

The St. Regis Washington, D.C.: what do users think?

Lisa: You will hear the food and beverage director before you see him. During our trip, he raised his voice multiple times quite angrily - it was quite concerning to hear him speak to guest service staff in such a way and that he was comfortable enough to do it in front of guests, too. Otherwise, my husband and I had an absolutely lovely stay. Our room was amazing and there were lots of friendly faces. I also especially enjoyed the pillows, and I wish I had thought to ask what type they were as they were super comfy.

Squirrely: Five stars all around. The rooms are elegant, updated, clean, and comfortable. Each staff member I dealt with went above and beyond to help. I was especially pleased with the front desk employee who grabbed me a cup of coffee in the middle of the night when I had to catch an early flight. The location is excellent and there are plenty of restaurants and attractions within walking distance.

Liem Huynh: We stayed for one night in the Metropolitan Suite in June 2022. The room desperately needs renovation and service was nonexistence. Disappointing experience overall. No prearrival email, no response when I emailed the butler service for restaurant reservation, zero communication from the butler during the entire stay. Unfriendly lobby staff, no greeting, had to open the door on my own at times. The Metropolitan Suite was old and in need of a renovation. Dirty pillow cases, worn out carpets, water from faucet smelled a little punky and we even found pieces of shattered glass on the floor. Only positive experience was the check-in, after that everything went down hill. Recommend trying something else while you’re in DC. Much better experience at the Ritz Carltons if you’re a Marriott fan.

Joe J.: Amazing tea experience in DC, probably the best in terms of service, flavor, presentation and selection of teas. The cherry blossom touch is a nice and pleasant surprise. Although it is on the pricey end, definitely recommend!

Ayesha SH: I attended the Whimsy event on April 1. Pros and cons below: Pros: Wine was good. We ordered a Napa cab so it was costly. Ambiance was decent. The best part was their waiters who were super friendly and hospitable. Cons: I was told parking would be validated prior to attending the event. On the day of they refused. We spent upwards of $600 and they wouldn’t validate the parking. Food was ok. I didn’t feel that great later at night. The princess thing was childish, hilarious, and unnecessary. Adults attend these kinds of events not kids. Overall not worth the money they charged us.

The Hay-Adams: what do users think?

Bill Maniatis: From the moment the door is opened for you, you will know that you are walking intro a most beautiful well maintained historical hotel. The facility is so well maintained and he attention to detail is second to none! Everything is clean and organized to perfection! Adding to that facility is the amazing staff! So helpful and polite and willing to perform the jobs so amazingly well. Proper turn down service, friendly and polite and so friendly This is the only place to stay in! The location is wonderful and extremely convenient however what makes The Hey Adams standout is the wonderful staff, attention to detail and how the hotel is maintained. Thank you all so much!

Evan D: Average person review: visiting from the South, and it’s an odd way to type out a review on how employees at a hotel can make you feel like you’re family here while thinking about how it’s their job to do so. It’s not a forced smile they put on, but rather a genuine atmosphere in all that they do for you. My bed was made multiple times a day, my dirty clothes were neatly folded in a small area in the room and I always had fresh towels. (It’s just a big thing for me) As I said before, the staff was more than welcoming! One gentlemen opened the door with a smile outside, and another opened it with a smile on the inside. I’m not anything special, but the Hay Adams staff sure did make me feel as if I was the most important person visiting for the next few days! Breakfast was outstanding; again, I’m a Southerner so breakfast is our staple. Didn’t get a chance to see the rooftop bar after walking 8 miles around DC because we were tired but everything about the inside and restaurant were perfect. As I said in the beginning is exactly what I want to say by ending; it’s a very hard way to describe how this building and staff make you feel like you’re family, and not just a temporary resident to fill a budget quota. There’s truly an indescribable feeling that walking into the Hay Adams is just like going to a distant relatives house. You don’t see them every day, but when you first arrive on the front porch, you’re greeted with a warm welcoming that makes you feel as if you’ve only been gone a few hours. 5 stars.

Katherine Collins: Treated my sister and her husband to a stay at the Hay-Adams & it’s one of the very few times I can say that it was absolutely worth every cent. Our rooms were impeccable, every member of the staff we encountered was genuinely caring, & every meal we ate was exceptional. Everything exceeded my expectations. I’ve never experienced anything like it; they must go out of their way to hire the best of the best & treat them well because nothing fell short of absolute excellence. I don’t think I could ever stay anywhere else in the city. It made our time in DC magical.

Tracey Vlahovic: This was an experience! From my room I can see the white house and such a wonderful view! I took the best pictures! The hotel bar was great and wonderful staff greeted us. We had many rooms booked and so many of my family came along and everyone enjoyed! I highly recommend!

Adam Galazka: Overall, just an amazing experience. I would give them 4.5 stars. Mainly because after our stay, we found some rim and tire damage from valet parking. Working with their management to address it. Booked this through Amex Platinum. Their check in process was amazing. From doors being open to everyone knowing your name, just great. This hotel is right down the street of the White House. Just an amazing location. Room was great with St. John view of the church. Room was spacious. Shower had an amazing pressure. Enjoyed the little touch of water and mandarins. Turn down service was also great as we did not expect it. We will definitely be back. Restaurant and bar/lounge on the premises are amazing.

brian perkins: Was visiting DC for the first time since the pandemic. So glad we stayed at The Hay-Adams. So charming. So comfortable. So beautiful. Such great service (the doormen, the waiters, the hostesses great you by your name every day!). I only had breakfasts there…and I miss them. Especially the corned beef hash. And they charged my Tesla. Perfect.

Priya R.: What an amazing experience. The location of the hotel is spectacular, the service is amazing and the rooms are beautiful. Special thanks to Brian Thomasson for going above and beyond to make sure my twin boys felt special during the stay. If you truly want a memorable experience, you cannot stay anywhere else. We plan to come back soon…many thanks for the fantastic memories.

Michelle W: My husband and I stayed in the Lafayette Park view suite for three nights and we were impressed with every aspect of this beautiful hotel - from the courteous and pleasant service from every employee we interacted with, an awesome concierge who set us up with an informative walking tour of DC, to the wonderful in room dining staff. Off the Record was a nightly favorite! We can’t wait to come back and stay again!

Thomas Corcoran: Despite an issue with some minor room cleanliness, the hotel management handled it extremely well. The staff turned what would have been a disappointment into a very positive experience. We look forward to returning for a relaxing stay again.

Washington Plaza Hotel: what do users think?

Kelley Hambrick: Absolutely beautiful place. All the staff were very friendly and hospitable. We were treated very well. I love that your car is locked secure in the garage every night. Check out time is NOT at the crack of dawn...the only disappointment was the beautiful pool was closed. The bathroom tile was beautiful and clean. Beds were comfy and very clean. Location, I gave 4 stars only because it was a little bit of a walk to get to the museums. But also, it was a nicer quiet area, right across the street from the beautiful Martin Luther Church.

Shannon Dermid: Upon arrival, we were greeted and welcomed so pleasantly. The young lady that checked us in went above and beyond for us after we asked her about some local black owned restaurants. The pool was not open as of yet but looked great! We will definitely return to enjoy the pool and their outdoor bar. The restaurant bar inside the hotel was great as well, the lady bartender was alot of fun. The greeter was always attentive and very friendly when opening the doors for everyone. Parking was so easy, it is a extra charge BUT it is in all of DC hotels. It was very clean and beds and pillows comfortable. This hotel is in a PERFECT LOCATION, right in the middle of everything. This is our go to stay at spot now.

Ted LeBlond: I had stayed at the Washington Plaza about four years ago. Some when I found out last month that I would be in Washington DC for nine days, I obviously made my reservation there. Like last time I was extremely pleased with the service and the hotel. All the staff from the front desk to maintenance and housekeeping are polite and professional. When I had a very minor issue with my shower faucet and I reported it to the front desk maintenance had come up literally within minutes fix it quickly and correctly. The entire hotel is very clean and neat. I had daily housekeeping and I don’t know how they made the bed. It was always so nice and barely a wrinkle on the sheets. I hated to sit down or lay down on it but I did have to go to bed sometime. I got a great rate because it was in the middle of December and also they had a seven day promotion. But one thing I like most about the Washington Plaza is they do not charge one of those ridiculous destinations or amenity fees that seem to be the trend now with so many hotels. I highly recommend this place.

Ios ParosNaxos: This during the pandemic. The interior was looking just a little run-down. The room had no microwave or mini-fridge, so you had to rely on room service. But their service was excellent and the food was good. Coffee came in large pots. Lunch was also served but not dinner. Snacks and some alcoholic beverages sold at the front counter 24/7. The hotel also has a a very cozy restaurant, which, at the time, was closed. Everything you need is within walking distance including a 7/11 and dry cleaners, a hair salon and Whole Foods Market. The hotel is also located on the edge of the downtown area, the drug store is a block away. The people living in this neighborhood are A+.

The Capitol View at 400: what do users think?

Remembered Events: We just had a fabulous wedding at this venue. The view is beautiful. They have a parking garage underneath the building and you do have to go through the lobby of the new stations to get to the reception spot but well worth it. We had around 100 people which fit the space perfectly. Delmy the venue coordinator is so wonderful to work with. The space offers multiple options for your cocktail hour set up. The restrooms are far from the space just something to be aware of. I would suggest making signs it is downstairs or have a designated person showing guests where to go (this was something our planning team did).

Colby Shomaker: This place has great views of union station and the capital. Not the best location and set up to host an event but overall it’s ok.

ALANA VAUGHN: What an amazing venue to have any event. It felt like you were on the deck of a cruise ship with the beautiful black drop of the Capitol in the background. It was open air... it was beautiful but when it started to drizzle there was a beautiful canopy that still allowed you to enjoy the beautiful view.

Travis Hyams: We had our wedding of about 100 guests at Capitol View. Our experience was amazing, and we would recommend the venue to anybody that is planning their next event. The view speaks for itself. So, if you are on the fence, just go see the place. Delmy the venue coordinator is a true champion. She is experienced, organized, well-connected, and when the anxiety of planning an event becomes too stressful, she draws on all of these to keep you calm and make sure things go as planned. The day of went off without a hitch and our guests continue to rave about our event! Delmy handled all the décor and the venue looked truly stunning. We hope others get to experience how truly magical Capitol View is!

Kiedra E.: Unfortunately this rating comes from an inability to receive a date to even view the venue. We absolutely adored the space from what we saw online. I reached out to the venue the beginning of January and received little correspondence and after confirming a date finally but, not a time , I waited over a month for a time confirmation email that was promised and never came. This was extremely disappointing. I’m not sure why we weren’t valued or given the usual business etiquette or decency many others have in the past from the reviews I read but, I hope that this experience is isolated and not common practice of this venue.

andrew strycker: I was here for a conference dinner on the rooftop. The food was lackluster and ran out multiple times. the event was by reservation only so it was not as if Capitol View had no idea on how many patrons to expect. The two bars that were on the rooftop were cash only and hard to navigate towards. The bathrooms were also located a fair distance away. After a bit of socializing (like an hour), many of my peers decided to go to another venue.

Michael Gerardi: Great venue for people who are political advocates and/or patriots

Megan Muñoz: Delmy was very nice but myself and other guests could over see and hear her being unfriendly to the staff and taking down about the wedding party. Otherwise fantastic venue and a wonderful time.

Kimpton Hotel Monaco Washington DC: what do users think?

Shining Starzz: I’ve stayed in hotels all around the world and this is my favorite. Front staff was friendly and sociable. Check-in was easy. Free happy hour in the evening. High vault ceilings in the rooms, which are well decorated. Large full mirror in the rooms and little things like the jewelry box, umbrella, yoga mat, exotic animal print robes and natural soap make a big difference. Only disappointment was the view from my window.

Susan Payne: Friendly, attentive staff, spacious lobby and guest rooms with funky meets traditional furnishings, soaring ceilings, and comfy beds. Perfect location for Smithsonian and within walking distance to the Tidal Basin/cherry blossoms. We felt very safe walking around. Complimentary coffee in the mornings and wine in the evenings - a nice touch. Several very good restaurants within a few steps from the hotel in every direction, including a lively restaurant/bar with outdoor seating in the hotel’s own courtyard. We’re hoping to make this an annual trip!

Ray Bentley: This was the WORST experience of my life. When I arrived my room was not prepared at 3pm on a Saturday! We ended up not being able to change and we’re late to an engagement. I asked the staff when and why our rooms were not ready and they gave us no timeline until I asked for the third time. Upon asking the front desk attendant was extremely rude when I really tried to be overly nice about the situation. Upon my room being prepared they didn’t apologize and might as well have just thrown my hotel card keys at me. When I asked what they could do to accommodate the issues we experienced, she said nothing. They finally gave us fifty dollars credit to a restaurant at the hotel. When we went to check out they also tried charging us for the fifty dollars we used at the restaurant and basically called me a liar until I explained how terrible of a stay I had. Going further our rooms were not cleaned the entire weekend and they blamed it on staffing and Covid issues. They did not adjust our price even though we booked through American Express travel. The worst part of all of this was the fire alarm that went off at 2am requiring the entire hotel to exit. They chose to rent out there lounge on the roof that evening to a 21st birthday party in which someone pulled the fire alarm. This place is a frat house not a hotel. It’s very disappointing because the furniture and ambiance of the space was great. A manager was supposed to call me after I checked out and I have received nothing of the kind. Worst stay I’ve ever had in a hotel and I travel for work all the time. Location and hotel furniture fixtures plus, everything else was absolutely terrible. Disappointing. Zero stars if I could.

Chad Rea: Stayed here 4 nights for a work conference and must say it was disappointing for a luxury branded IHG/Kimpton property. The hotel absolutely has some bold decor choices (which I kind of enjoyed) with the furniture and wallpaper. Rooms - I stayed in room 218, the bed was too soft for my liking, and the pillows were not great quality. The room also had an unusual smell which I could not identify. The weather was in the low 30s during my stay, and the thermostat would not go above 65 no matter high I set the heater temperature (thankfully I like my rooms cold). The restaurant "Dirty Habit" was really good, the charcoal bun burger was phenomenal. The location is perfect, I was across the street from the Wizards arena, and within walking distance of a ton of great restaurants and all of the smithsonian museums. Big Plus! And I must shout out the exceptional service. The staff was excellent, front desk was helpful and check-in was a breeze. Waiting staff during the provided conference meals were very attentive. The bellmen were also friendly and accommodating. Daily housekeeping was great. And the complimentary wine (in evening) and coffee (in the morning) in the lobby was a nice touch. Overall, solid hotel, great staff, but desperately in need of a makeover.

Matthew Radomski: The service was fantastic. We were welcomed by Belinda at the front desk when we checked in. There was a small error with our reservation (used a 3rd party app) and it took them maybe 2-3 minutes to fix the error. Belinda and another gentleman at the front desk went out of their way to make upgraded accommodations for us, and ensure we had a great time. Throughout our entire stay, we were greeted by name and asked how everything was. I could not have asked for better service.

Jeremy: Unless you have a written guarantee that you will NOT be in a basement room, don’t stay here. The basement rooms are musty and provide a view of the sidewalk and garbage cans. Staff were less than helpful as I watched guests who arrived after me get checked in. All of this well past the posted 3:00pm check-in time.

The Ritz-Carlton Georgetown, Washington, D.C.: what do users think?

Jessica Leifer: Disappointing. Can hear the highway from the room, and they supposedly didn’t have any other rooms to offer us. Definitely not worth the price. Rooms should be soundproofed better. Mediocre— nice Marriott at best. Probably could have spent $200 less and stayed at a hotel just as nice, and way quieter. The lobby is adorable and homey feeling. Service was great. Location is great.

Sean C: For a high end hotel, the rooms were old, not well maintained, and very underwhelming. We were super disappointed when we got into our room. It was mediocre at best. It looks like what you would expect at one of the lower end Marriott properties, but not a Ritz. The shower is super small, the toilet is very low to the ground and uncomfortable. The bathtub was dirty, the towels were small, thin and not soft at all. The wallpaper also has stains in a number of places. The lobby of the hotel is nice and the location is good. There are two wings in the hotel and our room was in the West, so I don’t know if this is an older part of the hotel or not, but it could use major renovations for us to want to come back again.

Toni Dzinic: My wife and I had our wedding at the Ritz in their Fahrenheit Ballroom, and what a beautiful night it was! We had ~60 guests and that is about the most people I’d personally recommend for the ballroom. Liliana Klein is the person to talk to when you want to plan a wedding there and she’s such a pleasure to work with. She walked us through everything from day 1. The food was excellent, the preferred vendors were also a joy to work with. Seriously, I’ve never experienced better service at a hotel. If you’re considering having your wedding here, do it! If you’re coming here for a night or two, or just to enjoy some dinner and cocktails, you also won’t regret it. We’ll be back!

The Ritz-Carlton, Washington, D.C.: what do users think?

Mother Tucker: Location is good. Easy to locate. Front desk staff was rude and condescending during every interaction. Room was nice but nothing exciting. The doormen and the staff on our floor cleaning were all exceptionally pleasant. They are what earned the three stars. Also, if you want eye candy, stay at the same time as dignitaries so the place will be full of secret service. I felt very safe.

Logan Deyo: Fantastic staff. Everything was top-notch, clean, and met our expectations. Our supposed room “upgrade” wasn’t really any upgrade, but nonetheless it was a good room. Breakfast was also great. About a five minute walk from the nearest Metro station which made it nice to get around. A longer walk, but we walked all the way down to the National Mall in about 40 minutes.

David Berman: The Ritz Carlton in Washington DC is one of the best hotels I have ever been to! The people who work there are so nice and welcoming. It is a hard place to not love. I personally loved my room. My room came with 2 bathrooms, A enclosed bedroom, and a bar area along with a dinner area. It was the height of luxury. The restaurant there was called the Quadrant. They had some of the best service I have ever had at a hotel restaurant. The food came in huge portions and looked spectacular. Overall, I truly enjoyed my experience there and I know that if any of you guys go there you will too! David Berman Public Space Rating Co. 2021-2022 Chief Rating Officer

Tammy Trungadi: My first time at the Ritz Carlton! It was so beautiful and my stay was fabulous! Maggie, a member from the staff, was so kind to me. She personally brought me carafe of coffee to my room! I felt like a princess! Room was spacious, beautiful and everything you possibly could need for a restful and relaxing stay!

Candy Be: Stayed for 4 nights. Mo at the Concierge desk and John at the restaurant coordinated cocktails one night and dinner another night for our large group. Mirna with room service was so friendly. Overall a pleasant stay.

The Ven at Embassy Row, Washington, D.C., a Tribute Portfolio Hotel: what do users think?

Stacie: Location was perfect! The staff was amazing! There is an art gallery in the basement! The rooms were nicely appointed. I enjoyed being able to walk around the area and seeing all of the different embassies. I will definitely stay here when I visit the DC area. They charge a nominal destination fee and I loved all of the amenities you are given to offset that. The bar service and offerings were great!

James Walston: Absolutely would stay here again. Comfortable, well-appointed, valet parking on site, and in the perfect location at Dupont Circle. The staff was friendly and very accommodating, especially Eli and Lyle. They have a 24-hour gym and game room, too. Hopefully I can get back here in the summer and try the rooftop pool. Thank you for a great weekend!

Elaina Genthe: I stayed for three nights during the Cherry Blossom Festival. Staff was great. The man at the front desk with the beard was especially kind and Jorge the bartender. At the restaurant/bar, I had a beautiful, delicious espresso martini, a salad and the Mac and cheese. It was all delicious! My only complaint is about the rooftop. I wasn’t made aware that it was open or closed, but a previous reviewer had pictures of it so I tried to go up one day but the door was locked. I wish staff would have mentioned the details upon checkin.

Britney Sutton: I had a crazy experience coming to DC we were supposed to stay at a completely different hotel but something happened with the third-party company and we were switch to this hotel. As soon as we entered, we were greeted by Eli who has made this experience extremely pleasant. The hotel is nice but we all know customer service can make or break your experience. Eli and the rest of other friendly service rep I greatly appreciate the experience. With the exception of the late night hotel rep that was kind a rude and parked my car in the wrong spot Mr. brown coat. 🤗

M B: Stayed here with family for my birthday weekend. The ambiance of the hotel was beautiful, great place to get Instagram photos. Wonderful amenities - restaurant with TVs, fitness center, roof deck, game room and a mini art gallery. The rooms were comfortable and our views were gorgeous. The location is great too, right next to the Dupont circle metro. Frank R and his team did a great job of welcoming us. From the moment he arrived he helped us get our car valeted, luggage up to the room and even had a bottle of wine, chocolate and a handwritten note for us! Thank you Frank R and team, you made our stay so special!!

Ido Simyoni: My new favorite hotel in Washington DC. The staff are super friendly, kind and caring. Each one of them gave us a warm welcoming feeling. They gave us friends bracelet (ven in danish means friend). They have valley parking, nice gym and also Amazon lockers inside the hotel). Jennifer was our favorite stuff member as she was the one to check us in and take care of us. Location was great. There’s a cvs and couple of coffee shops near by (check out Emissary). They’re also dog friendly and my best friend got a nice comfy bed too for our stay. Only one thing that bothered me is the hearing was probably one of the loudest I’ve heard.

WanderlustBeauty Dreams (WanderlustBeautyDreams): Loved my time at this property. The hotel is situated in an amazing location and loved how walkable the area is. The staff were super friendly and helpful. The king room with city views was spacious and perfect for my weekend stay in Washington DC, highly recommend booking a stay here!

Jr: I will never stay at this hotel ever again. Not only were the rooms small but I paid in advance for my stay. I was charged almost $1000 additional on my card with no explanation of what the fees were for. The hotel said that their merchant ended up releasing my funds however it has been a week now and there is still a hold on my funds that i cant access. The charge caused my account to have a negative balance. I had planned a vacation trip to DC and this caused a major inconvenience causing me not to have any funds to use which ruined my vacation trip. I would not recommend this hotel.

InterContinental Washington D.C. - The Wharf, an IHG Hotel: what do users think?

Kyle Lennon: Shout Out to Meredith, she is a gem and a half at this hotel! This property is very new and certainly a show stopper, I love the ultramodern design and the bathrooms were stunning. I also loved the balcony overlooking the river and walkways. The bar had great service and great personalities to accompany your cocktails while they served you. Top notch hotel and will certainly make this my preferred DC hotel!

Adrienne Messe: The staff at the InterContinental on the Wharf D.C. is all-round amazing. I am so happy we chose this venue for our recent event. Every member of their team is truly hospitable, and they are dedicated to every client’s success and every guest’s experience. The Sales and Event Managers were helpful/agile partners to us through multiple event date and contract changes, thanks Mayte & Alicia! The Banquet Director was dependable at every moment for our 3 day-event and made sure everything was executed to perfection, thanks George! The hosts at the front door/front desk helped all the guests in our room block have an easy and enjoyable stay for the duration of our event. Thanks to all for helping make our event a success!

Hope Poulsen: Pool is WAY smaller than pictures, we were all shocked at how small. The pool deck gave me and every single one of my friends splinters. And, there are only 5 lounge chairs for the entire pool. Staff is very friendly, but we had to ask for the same requests multiple times. So they seem a little disorganized. Room was very nice & clean and the location is perfect! I chose this rating because of the value - it’s not a terrible place to stay by any means, but you don’t get what you pay for. Not unreasonable to have high expectations when paying almost $500 a night, and this place did not meet those expectations.

Phoenix Park Hotel: what do users think?

Cora Johnson: My stay there was very nice. The rooms were modern, clean and well maintained and close to the train station. Good deal on pricing. The quilt was lumpy. most of the filling had formed into lumps. That comes from constant washes.. I would consider staying there again in the future. I enjoyed the food I bought from Irish restaurant located within hotel.

Scott Hayes: Our first visit to the Phoenix House was to move one of our kids to DC. The location is fantastic! Right on Capitol Hill, steps from Union Station and only a few more steps to the Capitol Complex. It makes a great starting point to walk the best parts of DC. As a boutique hotel, it is small but not tiny. Rooms are spacious, well appointed with comfortable beds and updated fixtures and furniture. Our view was Mass Ave so interesting and bustling until after 10pm. The staff were excellent and the building impeccably maintained. We will use it as our base for upcoming visits to Washington.

James McSweeney: My wife and I came here with our baby for a weekend trip. The staff was really nice and friendly. The initial room we stayed in had problems with the heater and they quickly helped us move our things into another room(Fernando and another gentlemen) The location is great, its affordable compared to other hotels in the area and the attached Dubliner had some great food and really good Irish restaurant.

Alex Barros: Good location for vacation (near capitol hill) and many other attractions. Nice view. Room is clean. Near to transportation (train) union station. Reasonable price. The ladies servicing the room are excellent. 24hrs coffee machine another 2nd floor is outstanding. We are happy Canadians Eh!

Danira Ortiz: Stayed here on a work trip. Beautiful!!! Friendly staff. Super clean. Pricy but to be expected in DC I guess. $4.50 for a water bottle! The connecting door was a bit creepy because you could jiggle the lock a bit but it didn’t open. The bed was super comfortable.

Emilee Richards: Great location, great service, and great rooms! The rooms are a little on the smaller side, but unless you’re in the room the whole stay it’s totally fine. The bed was super comfortable too with the softest pillows. The pub attached to it is also really good! A little pricey but that’s a little expected for the area. I thought the overall hotel look was unique - it’s modern but had cool little historical elements.

Kimpton George Hotel: what do users think?

Christina Williams: We had an amazing stay at The George. The room was spacious and super clean. The staff are all top notch. I have to give a special shout out to DAMARA K who provide the most knowledgeable, professional and personal service. The ability to text front desk with questions, concerns great feature, front desk responded super fast to all inquiries. Eating in DC can be a hit or miss experience, DAMARA provided amazing brunch, lunch and dinner recommendations throughout our stay. DAMARA deserves a raise and a promotion ASAP. Honorable mention to Benjamin, Hunter and the lovely gentlemen (can’t recall his name) who handled our luggage, everyone was GREAT. This is the only place we will stay on our trips to D.C.

Fine Corinthian Videos: None of the first key cards we got worked after the first time we used them(they only worked once) so we had to get new ones. We ended up waiting ten minutes in the hallway because we couldn’t get into our room. The bathroom doors need to be replaced with normal, lockable doors. The sliding one did not work smoothly, and the gap between the door and the wall was at least 2 or 3 inches, so from one of the beds you could easily see into the shower, which had completely clear glass, not to mention you could hear every single sound someone made in there. In short, the key cards need to work better and there needs to be a lot more privacy in the bathroom.

J.S. Goff: Mediocre at best. The 1 star is for the only decent staff member who works ungodly hours, a gentleman with a great demeanor despite the obvious poor operations of the establishment. Our room was left open by housekeeping and no logical reason was provided. Bar staff showed up to my room because they ran wrong tab, without me providing room number. Short story: unsafe and not secure. Incredibly upsetting as a guest who is only at this hotel because of it was provided for business travel. Stay anywhere else. Request anywhere else. Pitch a tent in front of union station because that’s the level of security, safety, and piece of mind they’re willing to provide. I hope the decent staff can find work elsewhere because obviously the management is horrible.

Edwin Fornwalt: The lobby looked amazing, going the the room, the halls looked worn and out dated. The rooms were really nice and spacious. The bed left a lot to be desired, it was an old spring mattress that squeaked when you sat in it. The mattress was very hard bit the pillows we really nice.

Natalie: Expensive, bad location, not nice- do not stay here!! Amenity fee is ridiculous there is no breakfast, no pool- and absolutely no amenities, they scam you. Hotel was not 4 stars- this place is such a lie. Peeling wall paper, black stain on ceiling, chipped mirror frame. Stay anywhere but here for at least one of these reasons: Nicer, cheaper or better location

Jeremy Hurst: Staff was great, hotel was clean, and location is good geographically speaking. However I would never go back because walking outside is a task do to homeless shelter around corner. Nearly got physical twice with crazy homeless people, at the footsteps of hotel. Should be $99-$150 a night.

Baneo Spriggs: Overall it was good. The only 3 downfalls. Resurant not open on Sundays. I book a king size bed and they gave me a queen, the ice machine in the hallway did not work. Small things Overall.

Viceroy Washington DC: what do users think?

Zawwar Khan: Deja at the front desk was AMAZING! She gave a great intro, noticed my birthday, and gave me a great room! Also staff at the bar was great too. The staff at this hotel felt like one big happy family which was nice to see versus some of the large cookie cutter hotels in large chain hotels. Room was great and so was the rooftop!

Chloe Flowers: We had an emergency stay here about a year ago due to our property management company neglecting the property we rented. Viceroy was completely accommodating, kind and lovely. We had four pets, two dogs and two cats, and they had no problem allowing them to stay with us. We had forgotten a litter box in the chaos of leaving our rental home and they brainstormed and got us a makeshift one that worked out perfectly. The room was clean, nice and well lit with huge windows. The lobby area was clean and large. We enjoyed our stay during this stressful time and they helped us feel at home away from home. We will always be looking at Viceroy for our trips going forward!

Demarcus Ward: I have visited DC several times, as I have family in the area and also lived there many years ago. I have stayed in several hotels in the DC area. My recent experience at the Viceroy was one of the BEST customer service experiences that I have had the pleasure of encountering. The staff was nice, professional, and helpful. I will certainly return. And I appreciate the experience.

Mary Shaver: I wish I had a better experience for the hotel that I was staying at for the next five evenings. I asked for the small convenience of a quilt during the cold season. I asked.last night, this evening, and the next evening however the hotel did not acquiesce . The hotel finally decided to acknowledge and take care of this small convenience after I threaten to give a bad review for the hotel. .Please take this into consideration as you book your hotel experience.

Adam Cox: Great hotel in a great location near all of the restaurants and bars on 14th. We are looking forward to staying during the warmer months so we can take advantage of the rooftop. Justin made this stay an absolute 10/10! Management, please take note - Justin is a star.

Nicole G: This hotel is amazing! From check in to check out the staff could not have been more amazing. Justin was soo friendly & upgraded our room which was incredible! We had a huge room with a great view and massive bathroom. Karen, who checked us out was awesome as well! There’s a super cute decorated patio on the side of the hotel where my friends & I enjoyed drinks and had a great time. The hotel is walking distance from tons of great bars & restaurants. The hotel is soo cute, chic & clean and I highly recommend staying here!

Yana Kats: 2 stars ONLY because the staff is great. This place is not a 4 star hotel. The one thing that you’d think a hotel would invest in is bed and bedding. The bed is awful and uncomfortable; my face is getting exfoliated by the sheets and the worst part- NO CHOICE OF PILLOWS. If the pillows don’t work for you, good luck getting a good night sleep… terrible. Would not recommend this to anyone PS- no coffee maker in the room either

Glover Park Hotel Georgetown: what do users think?

Arthur LIEGEOIS: We booked one night last weekend to see the cherry blossoms (that were early this year!). My wife called and spoke to Laura. We were told we would have a king size bed and a view over the city. When we arrived at the desk, we were told that we had a room on the second floor (not so much of a view!) and two queen size beds! The employee was almost rude with us and told us that that’s what we had booked. We didn’t complain much because it was for one night, but we felt like someone had lied to us. The room was clean, the view of the backyards of two houses was ok. The next morning we decided to have breakfast at the restaurant. My eggs Benedict were the worst I have ever had and when my wife complained about her Greek yogurt having a bad after taste, the manager claimed that it was a new container and wasn’t out of date, and pretended she didn’t understand my wife asking her if someone in the kitchen could taste the yogurt. My advice: avoid the restaurant by all means! The main advantage of this hotel is its location, off of Georgetown, and we’ll connected.

Padft12laws2liv: Stayed here 6 nights for business. Gave me an adjoining room. I could hear the adjoining room’s music every night like the speaker was in my room. The last night they decided to blaze it and filled my room with weed smoke. I called the front desk and they did nothing. Slept with the windows open because I had nowhere else to go. Kept finding feathers on my things. Figured out they were coming from the Swiss cheese they call a duvet which they placed between two sheets with no cover. The entire duvet was covered in pin holes with some massive ones scattered throughout. They also didn’t clean the room well as someone’s personal conditioner was left in the shower. You’re better off at another hotel.

Craig Cunningham: I had a little trouble with the cooling and heating system, and the bed made a banging noise when I turned over, and the mini fridge made a strange noise through the first night until I banged on it a few times, but it was otherwise great. (Hotels should provide more than one packet of powdered creamer per cup of coffee, like they do with sweetener.)

Deborah Bacote: I was very pleased with everything. The hotel manager was exceptional. I was stranded in the area from the snow storm there. I really was scared and lost. The manager helped me to find my car and get back to the Georgetown Hospital where my son was admitted. Thank you Tom. I appreciate you and your assistance.

Tim Berry: Room was clean. Overall facility was dated, but ok. IF DRIVING IN and require parking - beware. Parking is in the lower level of hotel, with a VERY LOW CLEARANCE -only 6’2” height clearance. Your full size pick up or SUV could be too tall to clear. Additional parking near the hotel is limited to say the least.

Nadine Finucane: I’m a local and stayed here for a couple of nights recently. I just needed a place to crash while my place was under construction, and this hotel served its purpose. No frills, no greetings, no services.. it’s just a crash pad. I wish the sheets weren’t ripped and I wish the furniture wasn’t peeling. I also wish the parking lot didn’t reek of urine (it implies it’s not very secure if people are finding a way to treat it like a toilet). I also wish I had stayed a bit farther away where the parking would have been free, the room would have been spotless, and the employees said hello. I wouldn’t recommend this place unless you really just need a basic place in this specific neighborhood.

Olivia Jones: A good hotel in Georgetown that is really convenient for all of your DC needs. The rooms are nice and thick, but nothing too special. The amenities are just OK as well compared to other hotels in the area. A great place to stay overnight if you don’t need to much fluff or frills. Parking in the area is tricky and the garage is pretty expensive at $35 a night. And beware that they will hold a $50 charge on your card for incidentals. The location really makes this hotel great, otherwise it’s not our favorite spot. But it’s for a pretty good price per night.

The Watergate Hotel: what do users think?

Catherine Misleh: Worst service I’ve had in a long time - possibly ever. This rating should be negative zero stars. My mother is visiting from out of town (very far away) and I had planned a nice day to include afternoon tea for the both of us as a special treat. We do not get time together very often. Imagine our surprise and disappointment when we arrived and the restaurant had no signs of life - closed without notice. I went to the concierge desk of the Watergate and was informed it had been closed days before with no explanation and that they were sorry but the reservation must have been made through a glitch in their system. The woman behind the counter was very nonchalant and not at all concerned, even when I showed her proof of my reservation. Funny since I received both an email and two text reminders asking me to confirm, and was also charged for a prepaid tea service. The Watergate staff did not offer any recompense, said I would have to resolve the charge to my card online, and to "try Georgetown” for something today. Absolutely unacceptable! I will not be returning and will make sure to recommend against it every time. I thought it would be fun to try, but there are plenty of better other and obviously better options in the area anyway. I should add there were a couple of other guests in front of us who seemed extremely distraught by poor service and their rooms not being ready, so overall I would say this establishment should be passed over in every respect.

Olivier Saint-Vincent: 100% recommended!! If you are looking for a 5 stars ⭐️ hôtel in DC, this is the one. It was perfectly located for us between Georgetown and the Mall (walking distance), and very quiet at the same time. Gym, pool, jacuzzi, library, breakfast are great. You can walk by the Potomac easily… and it’s one of the best rooftop in DC. The architecture is beautiful and bold. The staff is very attentive and always there to help. We can say that the new GM know how to make a stay unforgettable!!!

Adam Galazka: Absolutely stunning hotel. Amazing location by the Potomac River. Walking distance to many different stores and restaurants. Check in was great. Valet parking on site for $58 a night. Rooms are spacious and the most comfortable bed. Some rooms do have balconies with waterviews but they are a little dirty. When trying to call the front desk it took awhile for them to answer the phone. Besides a couple of those negative we would definitely come back.

A. H.: Disappointing experience this time around. I’ve stayed at this hotel a few times in the past, but recently it’s gone a little downhill. The mandatory valet parking definitely needs improvement, as the attendants take 20-30 minutes to retrieve or even park your car. They were not at all friendly, barely spoke English, and left my car reeking of weed or tobacco smoke. Absurdly expensive rates given the terrible service. A cheap motel could’ve handled valet parking better. Embarrassing! Room and location are great. Front desk staff are super friendly. But frankly the valet service was so consistently awful over three days, that I probably won’t return again (at least not with a car).

Preeti Dawane: While the staff was great, the hotel itself cannot call itself luxury by any stretch of the imagination. On our arrival to our rooms, our bedsheets were DIRTY WITH STAINS. I have stayed at 3 star hotels where I have NEVER encountered such an issue. For the prices they charge, the Watergate is absolutely not worth the stay. The only reason this hotel gets ANY stars is because of the staff who took care of us. I definitely don’t include all of the front desk staff in that praise. I also was never contacted about the issue with the sheets. I had to follow up about the issue. We also have not received our itemized bill following check out. I’ve really never been more disappointed with a “luxury” hotel than this one. I will NEVER stay here again. Such a rip off.

The Madison Hotel: what do users think?

Naile Ruiz: The decor in the lobby was very nice! Rooms were average and cozy. Snacks and drinks were placed inside and would be charged to the card. Only small bottles of shampoo and conditioner were provided. Staff were kind and helped us when needed. I was able to leave my bag there after check-out while I explored the city until my flight.

A Lee: Outdated room! Scratches were on the tv stand and mirror. Room is dirty. They don’t provide complimentary water in the room. They don’t provide masks in the lobby. Bed had some type of weird powdery substance on it. I paid more money thinking the hotel was going to be elite. It was basic.

Pat Pat: We booked this hotel because it’s a 4 star hotel, but we were very disappointed. There were no shower cap or cotton swap provided. We called to request those items and the front desk said that they completely ran out of both items and they won’t be restock anytime before we checked out. I couldn’t believe they would ran out of basic amenities considering it’s a 4 star hotel. I would rather stay in a 3 star hotel with this type of service. If you plan to stay at this place, I’d recommend using their plastic laundry bag to substitute for the shower cap, but don’t forget to bring a rubber band to hold the bag in place.

Diana Braun: The hotel lobby is nice. Staff is friendly. The parking situation for this hotel is a problem. Very tight parking spots and not at hotel. On the weekend the elevator in garage is not operational. Recommend dropping off suitcases at lobby and then park. Request coffee pot for room. Plenty of things to do once you get settled into hotel.

Cemal Etlik: This hotel is nice but for a 4-star hotel, I would definitely go with another option. Even 2-3 star hotels provide a mini fridge and microwave, this place doesn’t have one and has additional costs to add it. The parking is a rip-off, not worth it. Find somewhere better.

Timothy McBride: Wonderful staff especially the Doormen and the front desk staff who were marvelous. The room maintenance staff were wonderful and timely . I only have one suggestion. As I am a big tipper in cash, getting change from larger bills to tip was not possible with the no cash policy.. Obviously I will be more aware of this for the next time.

Subsidies Suaish: Concierges didn’t have name tags, one was particularly rude; I found that unprofessional. The room we stayed in had garbage swept under the bed and the stand. We found a retail security tag folded into our comforter. I would never return here. Go to The Darcy if you want a nice location for a similar price. They serve cute cocktails and their staff actually does their jobs.

Renaissance Washington, DC Downtown Hotel: what do users think?

Rebecca C: I would give this a solid 3/3.5 stars. I must admit, since it’s a 4 star hotel, we expected a bit more. I’m going to guess they had to cut some amenities due to COVID. The night staff seemed friendlier than the morning staff. The bathroom was fine (I read a few before going that it was moldy). The water does take quite some time to stop dripping after you turn it off but the pressure was fine. You can definitely tell they used bleach/serious cleaners. Did notice some stains on the shower curtain and bed but could just be from use over the years. The best part really was location in terms of distance from certain attractions. That and the fact that Starbucks was in the lobby (they open early but close early as well). They also have a easy to use and relatively spacious safe. If I’m honest, I can’t say we will be choosing this hotel again the next time but overall, it was a fine experience.

Wesley Sparks: I am a loyal Marriott member, Platinum Elite so far this year. Overall this location is great for Convention Center trade shows. I ate an omelette for breakfast and it was definitely than I expected for a busy morning service time. Did not try the restaurant for other meal times, but the bar is pretty nice and well run. The beer list leaves a little to be desired. Main thing that keeps it from getting five stars is somehow I got placed in a “European” room, which means small bed, small room.

M M: The location of the hotel ist great. You can reach most attraction in Washington DC per foot. The staff at the front desk was friendly. The cleanliness left a lot to be desired. Our room was completely forgotten to be cleaned for one day! Instead of a clean room and fresh towels we got a page long detailed letter of apology. Does this happen possibly often🤔?

Lou Costanza: This is definitely a four star hotel. The staff are amazing. They were welcoming and accommodating. The room was clean, well appointed and comfortable. I had a nice city view on the 8th floor. Starbucks is conveniently located on the main level. I will definitely be back.

Carolyn Montoya: I believe this hotel is under rated! I loved my room and appreciated the convenience of a Starbucks in the lobby. I had a rocky flight coming in and the woman in the hotel snack shop was so helpful in finding ginger ale for me! This trip was for a conference, next time would stay here as a tourist as I love the location!

The Dupont Circle Hotel: what do users think?

Chiamaka Ukachukwu: I stayed here for just one night on a business trip and had a lovely experience. Beautiful room and location. In the heart of the city close to many food options. Staff were friendly, warm, and welcoming. I cannot comment on pricing as my room was paid for but it was an excellent stay. Loved my room and felt so relaxed! Would love to come back! Special thank you to Femi, a receptionist who was very accommodating at check in and check out.

Chris Sanders: Stayed here in 2017. White glove experience all around for my entire stay. Fitness room is way more than I expected in a hotel gym. Really nice cardio equipment. Minimal strength equipment but high quality. Great location in Dupont Circle with plenty of restaurant options around the hotel as well as their own bar and cafe. Small business center was great for grabbing a couple of quick conference calls right when I arrived. Highly recommend for biz or pleasure. Great experience!

Danielle El Kadi Levin: My husband and I had an excellent stay. Farrah the GM was fantastic! The housekeeping was top notch. The rooms were very comfortable. Staff was so kind, look out for John and Christopher, they’re lovely people. Thank you staff of the DuPont Circle !!! We felt very at home. Tons of little details that make all the difference.

Megan Barnes: I recently had my wedding block here at the Dupont Circle Hotel and could not be more pleased with the hotel. The upgrades made it feel like a five star experience for our guests from the moment they checked in. The rooms were beautiful, the bar was perfect for our welcome drinks, and the Pembroke restaurant was perfect for a bridal breakfast the day before the festivities began. I would be remiss by not sharing how incredible Svetlin was leading up to our big day. It would not have been as seamless without his help. Christina was key in securing our incredible rate for our guests to make the weekend so special for our family and friends traveling into the city. You will no regret your stay here.

Sarah Bell: Who doesn’t love a turn down service?? Can’t say enough good things about this hotel; when I lived in DC I used to frequent their bar/restaurant regularly but this is my first time staying as an overnight guest. The staff has been lovely and the room is great, too. Will absolutely book again when I’m back in town.

Derrik C: I had such a great stay here. The rooms were beautiful and clean, the staff was so helpful and welcoming, and the location was perfect. I will definitely stay here again when I’m in DC. Also, the valet parking service is amazing. I stress about parking whenever I’m in the city and this was a life saver and the valets were wonderful.

Reb O: Do not stay here. We accidentally left an expensive pair of shoes on the closet floor in our room. We called almost immediately when we realized this on the ride home. The hotel told us they would call us back immediately after speaking to housekeeping. They did not call us back at all. We had to call the next morning. By this time, hours and hours passing, we were tossed around to various people and the conclusion was that they did not find the shoes in the room. They kept calling this a “lost item”. The shoes were not a lost item, they were a “left” item. It’s unfortunate that you can’t accidentally leave some thing in your room and have an honest staff member return it to you. After talking to multiple managers on the phone, they did not want to do anything about the shoes. I will never stay in a hotel that steals from you. Beware.

C L: The hotel rooms are beyond tiny - not even a door for the bathroom, and the ceiling heights are so low, even at 5’3 I️ can’t breathe. Service is the worst part, I️ have never met so many apathetic people in one place. At checkout we called 3 times to request a dolly. The first time they adamantly denied that our room number even existed 🤯 and then the next two times they said they were sending one up. Didn’t happen. We had to carry all of our luggage down by hand (we have a child so this included a travel crib, stroller, and 2 suitcases. Upon leaving no one even offered us a hand. When I️ was exiting the elevator with my child in the stroller and carrying 3 bags, there was a man with a loaded dolly standing outside the elevator and would not make space for me to get by. I’m positively shocked that this place is in business and that this was my experience. How does this place have good reviews?? The only redeemable moment was meeting the lady from housekeeping who gave my kid chocolate and was so kind to us. She should be paid way more than any of those a-holes at the front desk. Complete waste of space and money. Worst hotel I’ve ever stayed at.

InterContinental the Willard Washington D.C., an IHG Hotel: what do users think?

Kelly McCarthy: Beautiful hotel. Tradition and old Washington charm surround you. Next to the White House. Built in 1918 there are so many beautiful details. Don’t miss the Famous round robin bar. Check in with seamless and the customer service was exceptional. The rooms are spotless and much of the staff has been here for generations. I highly recommend this hotel.

Hugh Shoff: We spent the night here before the Easter egg roll at the white house. It was exceptional. Easy to get in everything was right up front. You do pay for a premium but due to the location it was well worth it. The room was clean and nice. We had the high tea and that was quite the experience. If you go during the Cherry blossom festival we have the option of drinking tea with the Cherry blossom cuttings and that was quite the experience. I would highly recommend this. We only had pastries and coffee from the cafe and they were good. It is a five-star hotel.

Catherine Petty: Tea was lovely!! Would recommend highly for any events you have coming up. The staff was great, very helpful and the food was delicious. Surprisingly filling for it being so small. They even offer gluten free options. The harpist was also a lovely touch - she played beautifully. Will be back, especially around Christmas time!

Jess S.: I stayed here for thanksgiving back in 2019 and had a bit of an issue with concierge… the issue has since been resolved and taken care of… and all in all the room service was good and the hotel smelled fine. The hotel is beautiful but in a vintage way but … Flash forward to Feb 2022, I walked into the hotel to use the facilities and even with my mask on I noticed the lobby and hallway to the had a strong musty odor like that distinct moisture damage odor not saying that the hotel has moisture damage…but it’s clearly old and smells as such…and is in need of a renovation While I will most likely will stay at the Intercontinental in DC again in the future it will definitely be at the newer location at the Wharf

S R Das: Disappointed to see that the service at this storied Washington DC hotel has fallen substantially. This was my first stay here since the pandemic started. At the middle of the day - a busy time - there was only 1 person at the front desk. She seemed unsure of what she was doing, calling repeatedly for advice. I was second in line and had to wait 20 minutes. The line, meanwhile, was growling. Even though people asked her to get help (a second person), she ignored that. I found out later she had overcharged me (100 dollars more on the credit card, she added the deposit.) Yesterday when I got in at 950 pm thanks to a delayed flight, the front desk said that the kitchen was open for 10 minutes and would take my order. In the restaurant, however, the waiter said no. All in all, a less than ideal experience. As the person behind me said, no longer a 5-star experience and doesn’t justify the steep price.
