InterContinental Washington D.C. - The Wharf, an IHG Hotel: what do users think?
Kyle Lennon
Kyle Lennon: Shout Out to Meredith, she is a gem and a half at this hotel! This property is very new and certainly a show stopper, I love the ultramodern design and the bathrooms were stunning. I also loved the balcony overlooking the river and walkways. The bar had great service and great personalities to accompany your cocktails while they served you. Top notch hotel and will certainly make this my preferred DC hotel!
Adrienne Messe
Adrienne Messe: The staff at the InterContinental on the Wharf D.C. is all-round amazing. I am so happy we chose this venue for our recent event. Every member of their team is truly hospitable, and they are dedicated to every client’s success and every guest’s experience. The Sales and Event Managers were helpful/agile partners to us through multiple event date and contract changes, thanks Mayte & Alicia! The Banquet Director was dependable at every moment for our 3 day-event and made sure everything was executed to perfection, thanks George! The hosts at the front door/front desk helped all the guests in our room block have an easy and enjoyable stay for the duration of our event. Thanks to all for helping make our event a success!
Hope Poulsen
Hope Poulsen: Pool is WAY smaller than pictures, we were all shocked at how small. The pool deck gave me and every single one of my friends splinters. And, there are only 5 lounge chairs for the entire pool. Staff is very friendly, but we had to ask for the same requests multiple times. So they seem a little disorganized. Room was very nice & clean and the location is perfect! I chose this rating because of the value - it’s not a terrible place to stay by any means, but you don’t get what you pay for. Not unreasonable to have high expectations when paying almost $500 a night, and this place did not meet those expectations.

Heather Collins
Heather Collins: I wish I could give a positive review but they conviently canceled my room. Come to find out they closed the entire hotel. They offered for another hotel at twice as much. No thank you. My room had been booked since February at a very low rate. I guess IHG will be a no go hotel for me in the future.

Wei Y
Wei Y: My recent experience at the hotel in mid March was quite pleasant. The room was clean, decor was fairly up-to-date, beds were comfortable (subjectively), and the bathroom was fairly well maintained. The staff were very accommodating and friendly, this includes the cleaning crew (on the 8th floor) who would give you anything you asked for. The pandemic is not over yet, so I liked the idea of not having staff coming in every day. People complaint about the thin wall, water pressure and the train. I did experience all of the above. The thin wall didn’t bother me that much, it’s usually due to loud neighbors. For the water pressure, I just waited for the others to finish their use then take my turn, the place was packed at the time and everyone was taking shower at the same time. As for the train, the hotel unfortunately situated right next to the track so unless you are a heavy sleeper, the noises could bother some of the guests on the east side. We ended up switching to the other side and it was great! The food at the restaurant downstairs was also surprising. The taste and the price were comparable to the nearby places, if not cheaper. A Starbucks was also attached to the hotel but they do close somewhat early. As for the parking, we didn’t have a car, but once I parked at a hotel in downtown Chicago, it was over $100 a night. All in all, we enjoyed our stay and will stay again for sure!
Response: Wei Y, thank you for staying with us and taking the time to share your experience and feedback with us. We hope to see you again.
M B
M B: This was our first time staying at this hotel and it completely served its purpose. First the location - it is across the street from the department of Education and one block from the Air & Space Museum. There is a Starbucks on the corner of the hotel and several restaurants on the same block including a McDonalds. This hotel has a parking garage under it making parking very convenient. Parking fee is charged by the hotel per day and we had in and out privileges throughout our stay. There are two restaurants inside the hotel and a small convenience store next to the front desk. The lobby is more upscale than I thought it would be and staff was nice. We got into our room the first night later in the evening and our AC wasn’t working. We called the front desk and within minutes, a maintenance worker was at our door. He changed out the wall thermostat which didn’t resolve the issue and called for assistance to bring a new AC unit. They changed that out within minutes and discovered that there must be a wiring challenge that would take more time to resolve. They contacted the front desk, got us a new room and they walked it to make sure it was in perfect working condition before bringing us the new key cards. They offered to help us move but we were fine getting ourselves to the new room. This was the only challenge we experienced during our stay and these two maintenance technicians were absolutely wonderful. We forgot to get their names but they were on duty Friday, May 20, 2022 in the late evening. Nothing is a short walk in Washington DC as buildings are huge and the distance is deceiving. Every day we walked more than 7 miles and at the end of each day I walked back to the hotel to pick up the car to pick up my Mom to keep her from having to walk back. All throughout Washington DC, there are bicycles and electric scooters available to rent electronically on the spot to make the walking shorter and to get places quicker. We didn’t use them this time but they are a great benefit if needed. We did not eat in the hotel, but it is wonderful that the restaurants were there if we wanted to. This is a pretty perfect hotel to stay in when visiting Washington DC and we will most likely stay here on our next visit and recommend that you consider it as well. We didn’t take photos of the hotel, but it was very nice, clean, comfortable beds and we felt safe.
Response: M B, thank you for choosing to be our guest. We appreciate your feedback and are delighted to know that you had a great stay. We appreciate your feedback and will be sure to share your comments and feedback with the team. We hope to see you again, next time you are in the area.

Kelly McCarthy
Kelly McCarthy: Beautiful hotel. Tradition and old Washington charm surround you. Next to the White House. Built in 1918 there are so many beautiful details. Don’t miss the Famous round robin bar. Check in with seamless and the customer service was exceptional. The rooms are spotless and much of the staff has been here for generations. I highly recommend this hotel.
Hugh Shoff
Hugh Shoff: We spent the night here before the Easter egg roll at the white house. It was exceptional. Easy to get in everything was right up front. You do pay for a premium but due to the location it was well worth it. The room was clean and nice. We had the high tea and that was quite the experience. If you go during the Cherry blossom festival we have the option of drinking tea with the Cherry blossom cuttings and that was quite the experience. I would highly recommend this. We only had pastries and coffee from the cafe and they were good. It is a five-star hotel.
Catherine Petty
Catherine Petty: Tea was lovely!! Would recommend highly for any events you have coming up. The staff was great, very helpful and the food was delicious. Surprisingly filling for it being so small. They even offer gluten free options. The harpist was also a lovely touch - she played beautifully. Will be back, especially around Christmas time!
Jess S.
Jess S.: I stayed here for thanksgiving back in 2019 and had a bit of an issue with concierge… the issue has since been resolved and taken care of… and all in all the room service was good and the hotel smelled fine. The hotel is beautiful but in a vintage way but … Flash forward to Feb 2022, I walked into the hotel to use the facilities and even with my mask on I noticed the lobby and hallway to the had a strong musty odor like that distinct moisture damage odor not saying that the hotel has moisture damage…but it’s clearly old and smells as such…and is in need of a renovation While I will most likely will stay at the Intercontinental in DC again in the future it will definitely be at the newer location at the Wharf
S R Das
S R Das: Disappointed to see that the service at this storied Washington DC hotel has fallen substantially. This was my first stay here since the pandemic started. At the middle of the day - a busy time - there was only 1 person at the front desk. She seemed unsure of what she was doing, calling repeatedly for advice. I was second in line and had to wait 20 minutes. The line, meanwhile, was growling. Even though people asked her to get help (a second person), she ignored that. I found out later she had overcharged me (100 dollars more on the credit card, she added the deposit.) Yesterday when I got in at 950 pm thanks to a delayed flight, the front desk said that the kitchen was open for 10 minutes and would take my order. In the restaurant, however, the waiter said no. All in all, a less than ideal experience. As the person behind me said, no longer a 5-star experience and doesn’t justify the steep price.

K -
K -: Convenient location and friendly staff. However, our rooms were given away when we arrived. Then, we were given room keys for an already occupied room (apologies to the people we woke up). The room we finally got into was musty and had several power outlets nonfunctional. I expect better for over $200 per night. Ironing board and two luggage stands were handy. Bath&Body Works amenities were nice. I appreciate that room service only comes upon request.
Response: Dear K, Thank you for offering feedback about your recent experience at our hotel. We're glad you enjoyed our convenient location and friendly service. Our team apologizes that there was confusion with your original accommodations, and we appreciate your comments are we continually work to improve our facility. Given another opportunity, we hope we can host you for the stay you expected.
Lisha Fairbairn
Lisha Fairbairn: Could tell it was recently renovated and that some things had been rushed. Beds were clean and rooms were fairly clean as well. Staff were all very friendly and helpful! The pool area on the roof was beautiful, got some amazing sunset pictures from up there! My only complaint was that the parking garage was very poorly laid out. It had super tight corners, a single lane, and very narrow parking spots. We drove a minivan and almost got stuck in the ramp because we couldn’t make a turn. When we did park, the parking spot was the exact size of the vehicle leaving almost no room to open doors. Very nerve wracking. $47/night seemed like a lot for such a terrible ramp. Besides the ramp, we had a great experience and would definitely stay here again (just maybe with a different car or no car at all 😂)
Response: Dear Lisha, We agree; our rooftop pool is fabulous, and we are so glad you had the opportunity to enjoy it as well as all the other wonderful amenities we offer. We are honored to have been your hotel of choice and look forward to having you stay with us again at Holiday Inn Washington DC - Central / White House.
Shivaprasad K
Shivaprasad K: Very convenient location for tourists, close to the tourist attraction as well as the market place. Check-in experience was good. No in-house restaurant, coffee / tea in the lobby and room takes care of basic coffee/tea needs. The front desk provided us with a list of restaurants nearby. Many good restaurants, 2 blocks away make up for the absence of a restaurant in the hotel. Rooms are well furnished. A roof top pool is good for relaxing.
Response: Dear Shivaprasad, Thank you very much for taking the time to share your comments with us! It is wonderful to know that you appreciated our convenient location, easy check-in process, and helpful room amenities. We love to provide suggestions on great local places to eat. It was a pleasure hosting you, and we hope to see you again in the future!
Chiana Hutchinson
Chiana Hutchinson: This was a great location for us, we paid $50 to park our car overnight felt that should have been free. It was expensive but considering where it was located I suppose that explains it. They were doing renovations but it had no impact on us.
Response: Dear Chiana, Thank you for your recent stay at Holiday Inn Washington DC - Central / White House as well as your wonderful review. We are happy you enjoyed our prime location and hope you come back to visit once our renovations are completed.
Scott Cook
Scott Cook: My experience is probably a one off. There was a pride parade that made it difficult to reach the hotel without police escort. However, the room was very loud. My wife, daughter and I had horrible sleep because we heard everything from the people outside to other rooms. Suggest if you know there is some sort of event that weekend, you out out a notice to people with reservations.
Response: Dear Scott, It was a pleasure to welcome you and your family during your recent visit. We're sorry to hear of any external noise disturbance you encountered during the recent parade in the area. We did include information regarding street closures for this parade on our website and on pre-stay emails as soon as the city made the information available to us. We note that your reservation was made via a third party booking agency which did not pass along an email address for you. Thank you for taking the time to share your valuable comments and we hope to have the opportunity to host you on another occasion.
David Hicks
David Hicks: It was a nice clean hotel , great location for visiting Washington. The only downside was no bar or restaurant on site and several of the drink machines and ice machines did not work on several floors.
Response: Dear David, We are ecstatic to see that our clean accommodations and stellar location were some highlights of your visit. With so much to do in the area, we hope you had a blast checking it all out. Our team will certainly look into your comments about our vending machines to ensure they are operating properly. Nevertheless, we would love to welcome you back to Holiday Inn Washington DC - Central / White House soon.
Erik Kursetgjerde
Erik Kursetgjerde: Smelling of smoke, not clean rooms - and blaming renovations. Renovation were half done, and the bathroom is also in need of renovation. For this price one should expect more.
Response: Dear Erik, Thank you for choosing to stay with us. It is disappointing to see that your room did not meet your expectations and we apologize. Please know we are always looking for ways to improve our guest experience and we will be discussing your concerns with our team so we can work to address these issues. We thank you for your feedback and wish you pleasant future travels.

varenya raina
varenya raina: I really liked this place! The room was clean and comfortable. The people at the front desk were really nice and friendly. The complimentary breakfast menu choices were nice. I liked the room service menu as well. The food was tasty and pretty well cooked. I was sick when I was staying here, but the hotel tended to all my requirements in a very friendly manner. I would totally recommend this place to anyone and would likely stay here again whenever I visit.
LoveGun
LoveGun: Horrible customer service, stay away…… I reserved a few weeks in advance for my room. We showed up two hours early for check and I asked if we could atleast leave our car in the parking lot. We were told no we had to move it, we had to wait for check in. We returned back for check in at 1500h and our room wasn’t even ready until 1545h. When we got to our room it wasn’t the room we booked, when I asked for my room they told me there was nothing they could do about it. They were willing to show me a room another guest was going to get but they were unwilling to change our room. I’ve stayed at a lot of Holiday Inns with my family for business and leisure. This was by far my worst experience. Thank you so much Hilton for correcting their wrong doing and giving us a great customer experience!
Thomas M. Pino
Thomas M. Pino: The electrical outlet in our bathroom was not Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter (GFCI) protected and could cause electrocution. The toilet would make gurgling sound all night. The sink in the bathroom would fill very quickly, with the drain stopper fully opened. It was not a very good place to stay but made reservations ahead of time. Checked out early.

Pearl White
Pearl White: The staff is one of the best. Everyone of them was fast and friendly. Lobby was beautiful. The rooms cozy. The beds perfect. The comforters so soft and thick. Breakfast had a good variety and delicious for hotel foods. But for Holiday Inn Express quality, the rooms were lacking, still great, but not the IHG standard.
Luis Callejas
Luis Callejas: I recommend not going to this place. We had a very bad experience .I was there yesterday and the neighbors were blasting music. We called front desk to report it and they took 1 hour to put the music down. We had to get out of there because of screaming. When we were going to check out they didn’t let us until the next day. In the morning when we were trying to contact the manager to explain what happened, he was very rude and didn’t care. I don’t recommend this place especially if you have kids. The rooms were damaged, missing carpet, and damaged furniture. I am not putting 0 stars because it won’t let me.The managers name is Afron
Ken Hasty
Ken Hasty: Great staff and a decent complimentary hot breakfast. The rooms are dated and could use some TLC.

Kala Twigg
Kala Twigg: Front desk staff were kind & tried to help as much as they could. But this hotel is disgusting. Not clean. Whole first tower smells like water damage. My lungs & throat have been killing me. Was contemplating staying extra days. Definitely not now. Moved rooms because the first definitely smelled of animals. Children were complaining of that. And water damage. The elevators smell like urination. And there is dust & dirt in every crevice. Not to mention a very strange encounter at “free breakfast” which we wound up paying for. I will be beyond grateful to be HOME. (We originally wanted to stay at Hilton… it was having some Reno issues so they suggested we shop nearby, sad this is where we chose.) Id venture to say the water/sprinkler system went off multiple times at some points in the past. The carpets reek of water/mildew. Convenient to the highway. But … save your money people. Drive elsewhere.
Response: Kala, thank you for taking the time to post a review. We are very sorry for the housekeeping issues you experienced during your stay. We regret missing some steps in our inspection procedures, and this will be addressed with our team. We hope you will consider giving us a second chance the next time you are in the area as we would welcome the opportunity to provide you with the hospitality you deserve. Thank you for being our guest, and we wish you all the best with your travels. Best Regards, Martin Mohabir General Manager
Dan Royea
Dan Royea: I really enjoyed my stay here. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Hotel was very clean no matter what area I was in, either my room, at the pool and in the elevator. I really enjoyed the color changing water wall (be sure to check it out). And this is the first hotel I’ve been to that has a doorbell for every room. How cool is that? Plus the ring around the button changes red for do not disturb (also shuts off doorbell function) and green if you want your room cleaned. Nice indoor pool. Also has a nice restaurant/bar. Outside was just as clean as the inside was. It’s 30 minutes from the White House and 20 minutes away from the airport. I highly recommend staying here if your in the area.
Response: Dan, thank you for choosing and recommending Holiday Inn Washington-College Park (I-95). We are pleased to read how much you enjoyed your stay and our hospitality. Thank you, as well, for sharing your comments about our cleanliness standards; we are glad we exceeded your expectations. We also appreciate your lovely comments about the Terrapin Kitchen and pool; we hope you have wonderful experiences to share. Being so close to local attractions is one of the many benefits of staying with us. We hope you enjoyed touring our exciting city. Everything we do is aimed at making our guests feel right at home! We hope to see you again on your next visit. Best Regards, Martin Mohabir General Manager
Shaniece Gamble
Shaniece Gamble: I honestly did not enjoy my stay here. The one star is for the front desk receptionist’s they were all kind, and polite My room however was ok it could have been cleaner but that wasn’t even the worst part. It was very loud and a lot of traffic of in and out. I stayed in the 2nd tower 2411. The wall aren’t that thick. I would not stay here again nor would I recommend any one to stay.
Response: Shaniece, thank you for your honest evaluation. Please accept our apologies for the noise concerns you experienced during your stay. We are grateful for your patience, and we want you to know our front desk is always available to help make your visit as comfortable as possible. We hope you will change your mind and give us another opportunity to provide you with the excellent hospitality for which we are known. Best Regards, Martin Mohabir General Manager
S R
S R: Pros: The pricing, the peaceful sleep, the microwaves in the room, the lobby. Cons: YOUR DEPOSIT WILL TAKE UP TO 10 DAYS TO RETURN. For this reason, I WILL TRY MY BEST TO AVOID ALL HOLIDAY INNS!! This is my 3rd Holiday Inn location and they have not returned my deposit! I stay at hotels weekly due to work and EVERY other hotel chain, (Hilton, Hyatt, Marriott, and Wyndham) returns my money within a few hours up to 2 business days. DO NOT STAY HERE IF YOU WANT YOUR DEPOSIT BACK STRAIGHT AWAY! Neutral: The 2 towers are shaped wierd. Its easy to get lost between the 2 entrances
Response: Thank you for taking the time to evaluate your stay. While we are glad to know that overall your stay was pleasant, we regret the issue you are experiencing regarding the delays with incidental charges, and we certainly understand the frustration this caused. Please know our front desk staff is always available to assist you with queries such as this, so we encourage you to reach out to them. Your feedback and also your patience in this matter are much appreciated. Best Regards, Martin Mohabir, General Manager

Sarah Mallery
Sarah Mallery: I stayed one night on a layover. The two employees working in the lobby were fairly nice. They had a huge line of airline employees checking in. The woman working the desk was a little short, almost curt and rude- definitely not what you wanted to be greeted with after a long flight. The tall gentleman was nice. The security guard in the morning helped me figure out the airport shuttle. The bed was clean and very comfortable. The TV stopped working and said it was a connection issue. When I went to call the front desk about it the phone wasn’t connected to reception. I was too tired to walk down in the middle of the night but I’m sure they’d have fixed it. All in all it was clean, fairly comfortable but I wouldn’t want to stay here more than one night. Staff could be friendlier. It’s close to the airport by 5 minutes.
Christina Williams
Christina Williams: Hotel is in a great location, close to DC, very easy to get in and out of the city. Parking is absolutely horrible! They charge you to park at the hotel per night and there was not enough parking, had to park on the employee level and walk to elevator. The only nice thing is there was a lot of stuff within walking distance so once we parked we could still get to stuff. The only way I could get more towels was to go to the front desk even after calling guest services twice. The restaurant in the hotel was nice but they kept trying to get us to order more to raise the bill. I would not recommend this hotel for a long stay.
Tony Nguyen
Tony Nguyen: The parking floors are very small and the spaces are compact with spiral narrow rams which are not easy to get in and out of at the busiest times. Also, the trapped air is so staunches once you’re inside the hotel. It made us cancel our 1-night stay after we went to the room. The $200 per night room didn’t look like anything on their website. We asked for a King bed and got two Full-size beds. A crook (no name tag) at the Lobby told us there will be a cancellation charge of $187.37 if we don’t take the room. We contacted the bank about the fraud charged and were told a new card will be mailed. It shows on the new card statement so we had to close the account. Please help if anybody knows how to sue this hotel and have it close for good. Never again with Holiday Inn for us.

Shining Starzz
Shining Starzz: I’ve stayed in hotels all around the world and this is my favorite. Front staff was friendly and sociable. Check-in was easy. Free happy hour in the evening. High vault ceilings in the rooms, which are well decorated. Large full mirror in the rooms and little things like the jewelry box, umbrella, yoga mat, exotic animal print robes and natural soap make a big difference. Only disappointment was the view from my window.
Susan Payne
Susan Payne: Friendly, attentive staff, spacious lobby and guest rooms with funky meets traditional furnishings, soaring ceilings, and comfy beds. Perfect location for Smithsonian and within walking distance to the Tidal Basin/cherry blossoms. We felt very safe walking around. Complimentary coffee in the mornings and wine in the evenings - a nice touch. Several very good restaurants within a few steps from the hotel in every direction, including a lively restaurant/bar with outdoor seating in the hotel’s own courtyard. We’re hoping to make this an annual trip!
Ray Bentley
Ray Bentley: This was the WORST experience of my life. When I arrived my room was not prepared at 3pm on a Saturday! We ended up not being able to change and we’re late to an engagement. I asked the staff when and why our rooms were not ready and they gave us no timeline until I asked for the third time. Upon asking the front desk attendant was extremely rude when I really tried to be overly nice about the situation. Upon my room being prepared they didn’t apologize and might as well have just thrown my hotel card keys at me. When I asked what they could do to accommodate the issues we experienced, she said nothing. They finally gave us fifty dollars credit to a restaurant at the hotel. When we went to check out they also tried charging us for the fifty dollars we used at the restaurant and basically called me a liar until I explained how terrible of a stay I had. Going further our rooms were not cleaned the entire weekend and they blamed it on staffing and Covid issues. They did not adjust our price even though we booked through American Express travel. The worst part of all of this was the fire alarm that went off at 2am requiring the entire hotel to exit. They chose to rent out there lounge on the roof that evening to a 21st birthday party in which someone pulled the fire alarm. This place is a frat house not a hotel. It’s very disappointing because the furniture and ambiance of the space was great. A manager was supposed to call me after I checked out and I have received nothing of the kind. Worst stay I’ve ever had in a hotel and I travel for work all the time. Location and hotel furniture fixtures plus, everything else was absolutely terrible. Disappointing. Zero stars if I could.
Chad Rea
Chad Rea: Stayed here 4 nights for a work conference and must say it was disappointing for a luxury branded IHG/Kimpton property. The hotel absolutely has some bold decor choices (which I kind of enjoyed) with the furniture and wallpaper. Rooms - I stayed in room 218, the bed was too soft for my liking, and the pillows were not great quality. The room also had an unusual smell which I could not identify. The weather was in the low 30s during my stay, and the thermostat would not go above 65 no matter high I set the heater temperature (thankfully I like my rooms cold). The restaurant "Dirty Habit" was really good, the charcoal bun burger was phenomenal. The location is perfect, I was across the street from the Wizards arena, and within walking distance of a ton of great restaurants and all of the smithsonian museums. Big Plus! And I must shout out the exceptional service. The staff was excellent, front desk was helpful and check-in was a breeze. Waiting staff during the provided conference meals were very attentive. The bellmen were also friendly and accommodating. Daily housekeeping was great. And the complimentary wine (in evening) and coffee (in the morning) in the lobby was a nice touch. Overall, solid hotel, great staff, but desperately in need of a makeover.
Matthew Radomski
Matthew Radomski: The service was fantastic. We were welcomed by Belinda at the front desk when we checked in. There was a small error with our reservation (used a 3rd party app) and it took them maybe 2-3 minutes to fix the error. Belinda and another gentleman at the front desk went out of their way to make upgraded accommodations for us, and ensure we had a great time. Throughout our entire stay, we were greeted by name and asked how everything was. I could not have asked for better service.
Jeremy
Jeremy: Unless you have a written guarantee that you will NOT be in a basement room, don’t stay here. The basement rooms are musty and provide a view of the sidewalk and garbage cans. Staff were less than helpful as I watched guests who arrived after me get checked in. All of this well past the posted 3:00pm check-in time.

Tommy
Tommy: The ceiling fan in bathroom did not work. The size of gym room and outdoor swimming pool are too small.
Anthony Noyer
Anthony Noyer: I totally agree with the guy who posted this “It was rather disappointing, it was not as good as the ratings said, and it is also 1.9 miles from the nearest metro station, not 1 mile. The breakfast was poor, but it was in walking distance of many great restaurants. The beds were comfy, but the room was tiny and so was the bathroom. The water pressure was fair but it took about 5-6 minutes to get hot and sometimes it would change temperatures in the middle of the shower unprompted. Overall it was a fair hotel but I wouldn’t suggest it to my friends”. I would also like to add that you gym area needs to be renovated with fresh new colors to freshen up up the room and attract younger demographics. It felt like going back in time to the 1990.
Jacqueline Christides
Jacqueline Christides: Very clean hotel. Beds & pillows comfortable. Rooms have refrigerator, microwave & coffee maker. Breakfast is included weekdays between 6:30am -9:30am. Breakfast is eggs, sausage, turkey sausage, selection of hot & cold cereals. Selections of juices, coffee, tea. Pancakes, muffins, bagels, fruit etc. Hotel has shuttle van to take you to metro station or Restaurants etc within 3 miles of hotel. Hotel has gym & pool. Definitely one of the best hotels and reasonable rates.
Jim Greene
Jim Greene: I stayed at this Holiday Inn Express, June 7-9th 2022. The room was clean, the breakfast was stellar & although I wasn’t overly taken with the staff ( checking in & getting the van to the metro), I had a decent time. I do think since I’ve worked hospitality for years, there is room for improvements with the staffs issues. I am a timeshare owner & no welcome presents were offered.

Jessica Adams
Jessica Adams: The bed was comfortable and big but that was about it for positive things. Little dirt rings around the drain in the sink, front of the toilet had dirt streaks on it even if the seat was clean so we had to clean as soon as we get in. But the main issue with this hotel is the noise. The walls are paper thin. Banging all night and then 5:30am hits and the person in the room over starts blasting music, I go to call the hotel at the number listed on my reservation email and it’s disconnected. Unreal. Hit 6:30PM and children in the hallway knocking on doors. Keep in mind that the constant banging I mentioned earlier? Has still not stopped. I am exhausted and got zero hours of sleep in this place. Final straw is that I go to shower and my wash rag has a whole corner of it that’s just black?? Lost a customer here.
Julia Endicott
Julia Endicott: This is hands down the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. First room we walked into had a disheveled bed that was clearly not made. After telling the front desk, we were given a second room which they claimed they just checked; however, when we went to the room the door lock was completely dead (meaning they did not just check the room). The last room we received was completely unsanitary with red marks on the bathroom walls and dirty carpets. To top it all off, our friend who was staying in a different room received a room with no shower curtain and then got bug bites. With that being said, we were so disgusted that we did not stay the remained of our trip. We were told we would receive a refund for the nights we didn’t stay, but we haven’t and they are impossible to get a hold of. After checking out early from the Holiday Inn, we went to the Crowne Plaza College Park which was a 10/10! Highly recommend staying there. Overall, I would never in a million years stay at this Holiday Inn Again. I would give it zero stars if I could.
TEMITOPE FOWORA
TEMITOPE FOWORA: Disclaimer. I do not think this hotel represents all Holiday inn locations. This review is specifically for the Greenbelt location. As much as they projects cleanliness My room does not reflect that. It does not looked cleaned I doubt it was inspected before tagged to be ready for anyone to check in. Food crumbs, cob webs and stained carpet and ceiling where clearly visible. No staff reached out, even after compliant. I checked out early to keep my calm.
Tasha Newbill
Tasha Newbill: Hotel is dated, and could def use some upgrades. The baseboards in the bathroom were dirty and dusty. The shower could have been cleaner as well, was good water pressure and hot. The bed was comfortable. The hotel itself was quiet(hallways). I stayed on the 7th floor. It was just not up to my standards. The hotel was in a nice location and close to alot of stuff. I wouldnt stay here again unless it gets updated.

Rikk Lewis
Rikk Lewis: Wife and I liked this hotel. The location was very good for visiting Arlington and the monuments/museums we wanted to see. The breakfast was a bit pricey for what it was. The rooms were nice but could use a touch of TLC for the price we paid. The staff were all wonderful. We would stay here again.
Christine Halk
Christine Halk: Great access to Metro system. No microwave in room, no pool open, no free breakfast. Great housekeeping service. Secure card only elevators. Rusty metal in bathroom, but amazing water pressure. Never fixed shorting lamp in room even after notified 1st day. Beds fine.
BigmanDon
BigmanDon: Exceptional hotel. Treated like VIP. Food was pricey but exquisite. Located very close to airport. No airport noise. Staff friendly and kind. Rooms Exceptionally clean, comfortable and spacious. Beds were very comfortable. Very quiet to sleep. Bathroom was very clean. Top of the line hotel.
Sophia Wrightu
Sophia Wrightu: Great location and friendly staff, however the rooms were poorly cleaned. We were offered a different room, however that room was also poorly cleaned. Heavily stained bed skirt, hair on the sheets and toilet, and a bug on the bathroom sink. The rooms did not smell fresh and the carpets are in need of a deep cleaning.
thelazywombat 13
thelazywombat 13: Great hotel! Spent about 5 days here for a trip to DC and really liked it. The breakfast was good, and the access to Starbucks was also nice. There is a nice patio with games as well seating that my friends and I enjoyed. Location is also very close to the metro station, which saved us a lot of time.
Nima Patel
Nima Patel: Worst customer service I’ve ever experienced. Incredibly rude and not accommodating. After a long day of travel we were only met with attitude and unkindness. After starting our day at 6am, with countless flight cancelations and delays, United gave us three hotel vouchers. We got in at 10:30pm, didn’t get checked in until midnight. We were promised 3 rooms, but my whole family was forced into staying in 1 room. They made it seem like finding even one room was a hassle, despite other people checking in after us. Just asking for another room resulted in the desk clerk going off on us. I personally did not feel comfortable even getting water from their market or asking for extra towels. We were there for only 5 hours and every single hour was filled with loud music and noise from our neighbor. We were placed in a connecting room and the walls are paper thin. We complained multiple times, but there was no improvement and the noise did not lessen. To top it off, we went to use the printer, not only was it broken, but when we brought it to the desk clerk’s attention we were only met with a simple shrug. All around a terrible time and wouldn’t wish that type of treatment to anyone. Avoid at all costs.

Vive vive: Great customer service, fulfilling breakfast 😋. We stayed 3 nights, our room was very clean and spacious. All the staff were really friendly and helpful.Close to attractions, plenty of parking FREE parking 😁 and great price!I recommend it!!!
Renée
Renée: Pros and cons— Cons: To Google maps and IHG. Google stated this was 8 minutes from my destination. NOT! And from the employee standpoint..ahem.. IHG... please get them renovated!! Pros: Staff, hkpg and the girl at the front desk who greeted me were wonderful! (give them a raise!) Clean but dated rooms. Breakfast was yummy, just like the one at my hotel!👋😄
Jean Royall
Jean Royall: Everyone we met was extremely professional. From the front desk staff, to everyone on the phone. We also really enjoyed ourselves at the spa - the facilities are great and the massages were amazing.

Kimberley Sherman
Kimberley Sherman: Convenient location for catching the auto train. We’ve stayed here before & were happy. The staff was very friendly especially Lisa, front desk, Westley, Chief Engineer, & Mary, GM. They all tried to fix the issues we had with our room. They’re trying to renovate & update as they get the materials. Some rooms need it more than others, like ours with the musty ac unit. The cleaning staff needs to be more thorough also. I gave the 3 stars because the staff honestly tried to help us and are working on making the property better.
Charles Del Campo
Charles Del Campo: Extraordinary place with full amenities to meet your travel schedule. Modern room with beautiful decor. Very large rooms, everything is new, clean and spacious. Hospitality Management and staff are superb. Great parking, safe location, easy access to expressway, 25 minutes away from Capital Hill, and walking distances of great restaurants. I was here on bus and was treaded like VIP.. thanks guys!
Response: Thank you very much for your feedback!
Victor Cortes
Victor Cortes: Great hotel. Very clean friendly staff. Rooms could be quieter, they were comfortable. Rooms are updated bathrooms look very nice. Shower handle was broken in ours no big deal.

An Informed Tourist
An Informed Tourist: Mixed feelings… Making the reservation and getting an accurate rate - then confirming the rate - through IHG was a NIGHTMARE. I spent over two hours total on the phone and talked with five different people to get things straight. My group of 16 selected this hotel because it had parking, breakfast, and a pool. Unfortunately the pool was closed (IHG did not mention this when I confirmed with them that the hotel did in fact have a pool) and two of our non-smoking rooms smelled like cigarette smoke. The breakfast was okay. Nothing special, but okay. The positive side of things is that the staff was FANTASTIC. The manager apologized for the problems, did not try to cover anything up or make any excuses, and did his best to make things right! He was gracious in ensuring that we received the correct rate and compensation for the smokey rooms. He also explained that the hotel is under new ownership and new management who are actively working to improve the facility. We even saw an interior design team present when we checked in.
Katherine Barstow
Katherine Barstow: Was greeted at desk by a gentleman in a plain white t shirt and jeans, not professional, and some guests making a complaint. Found the pool and hot tub was closed by a handwritten note at front desk. We specifically booked this hotel for those amenities. Our room on the first floor was in no way a soundproof room, highway traffic and other guests noise, caused a sleepless night. However the room was clean and the breakfast selections were nice.
VonRico Toote
VonRico Toote: Had an amazing stay here. The breakfast was way better than most hotels. Andrew reallly made sure we had an amazing experience: id absolutely recommend

Rasheen Rodgers
Rasheen Rodgers: I wish I could give it a lower rating. This is by far the worst experience that I have ever had in all my years at staying at a hotel. I went to check in at 9:30pm on 4/15 with my 83 year old mother. We were exhausted from traveling all day. When we got into the lobby, there was a crowd of people standing there and no one behind the desk. I asked someone what was happening and they basically said there were no rooms available. When the front desk clerk came back she informed that they were short staffed and no one was able to clean the rooms. The rooms would not be available until tomorrow. It was not the young ladies fault and I felt bad for her because she was by herself and doing the best she could, but they should have reached out before hand so maybe people could have made alternative plans. It was basically like good luck. So 10pm at night, we had to find another hotel. Thankfully we found one close by. While standing there, I am glad we did not stay there. People were coming down looking for clean towels and blankets and there were none! Then I finally had time to call the hotel back today to make a formal complaint because I never received a call and the manager, Tammy was extremely passive and could care less when telling her the situation that happened. She insisted I booked through Expedia which I am telling her I booked through American Express travel and that is all she could keep informing me. And I feel like whomever I booked through, the hotel made a mistake and should honor their customers that were extremely mistreated. She could care less. This is the worst experience that I have ever had and the customer service of this hotel was beyond horrible. PLEASE DO NOT STAY HERE.
Amelia Combs
Amelia Combs: The hotel lobby and rooms were nice and clearly newer. Rooms were relatively clean, but there was hair on floor of bathrooms and brownish stuff on the bathroom wall. Water pressure was pretty bad, but plenty of hot water. Also, the apartment was not appointed for a large family (7) staying, including not enough towels, silverware, bedding (for pullout), etc. We were surprised that the pullout didn’t have bedding and had scrounge for some late at bedtime from housekeeping. You’d think if you advertise that up to 8 can stay in a suite, you’d have enough settings and bedding for all of them. The pool access key reader didn’t work and you had to go find someone at the front desk to let you in. Also, towels not available at pool. They also said pool and spa, though it was just a pool. Not sure what they considered the “spa” portion. Continental breakfast was well below average. We got there about 8:30a and it was slim pickings. When we asked if they would be restocking empty items, they said no. They didn’t even respond to another guest’s request for more coffee. I could see if it were close to ending time, but that wasn’t the case either morning for us. Also, there were piles of trash outside most rooms in the hallways that were left uncollected most days. Pretty gross. But our biggest complaints were that the hotel reeked of marijuana smoke, so much so that we could smell it strongly in our room. Not a pleasant way to sleep at all. Also, one night we were there and a tornado warning was announced. We exited our 4th floor room and asked at the front desk where the tornado shelter was. She said she didn’t know and just kind of shrugged. We ended up sheltering in the first floor laundry room until the warning passed. No communication from staff at all. Ice machine on 3rd floor was broken. First floor was fine, but it’s crazy they don’t have one on every floor. Our last night there (of 3 total) the fire alarm went off three (3!!!) times total-10p, 1a, and 10a. The first time we were running our 5 kids through a shower and had to evacuate the building. The smell of marijuana smoke was so strong in the hall, that was no doubt what set it off. The 1am we were all fast asleep and the blaring alarms sounded nearly 20 minutes, even after we finally went to the front desk and were told some kid had set the alarm off. 10am alarm awoke us with a start after a nightmare of trying to get 5 kids settled after a stressful night. We packed up our stuff and left. The beds were comfortable enough and the location was convenient for restaurants and the Largo station on the blue line. That’s about it. In sum, I don’t think I’d recommend staying here given all the negatives. While the staff wasn’t rude, they are either untrained or just so severely understaffed that they cannot properly manage the hotel.
K A
K A: I enjoyed my stay at the Staybridge Suites Washington DC East - Largo. Breakfast was yummy. I enjoyed using the pool and the gym. I wasn’t too impressed with the service though. However, I still recommend. Lovely Ambiance ✅ ♿️Wheelchair Accessible Entrance✅ ♿️Wheelchair Accessible Parking✅ 🚻Restroom
J Webster
J Webster: They were pros and cons to our stay over memorial day weekend 2022. I shared some concerns with Latyre at checkout and she was completely indifferent. Later I heard her whining and moaning to her coworker about how much she hated her job. I also sent the below email to the manager, April, but never got a response. I wouldn’t choose to stay here again. “We have been with you since Thursday evening in room 401. There have been some pros and cons of our stay that we wanted to tell you about it and are happy to post a TripAdvisor as well per your invitation. The girl at the front desk on Thursday evening was very friendly And made us feel very welcome. She and my wife hit it right off. I thought the breakfast items were delicious and there was a good variety of food. The beds are also very comfortable. The biggest complaint is that our room sleeps five, not six, since the sofa sleeper is a twin. This is different than what the Priceline website showed. We made our reservation with you based on the understanding that there was room for six people to sleep either on a bed or the sofa sleeper. We even entered our kids’ ages, yet the room did not really sleep six, only five. This was disappointing. On Friday Night, we looked forward to an enjoyable pool visit and had a great time at the pool. However, there were no pool towels, and when we asked for towels to be restocked, none were brought. My wife and kids walked through the hallways cold and dripping. The toilet paper holder is broken in the room. No blankets and no extra pillows on Friday or Saturday either, even though we asked for some to be brought to our room. There was one disappointing aspect to the breakfast experience. You were out of 3-4 breakfast items both Friday and Saturday. Today at 8:40 am, there were no bagels, no yogurts, no eggs, and two turkey sausages left. I waited 10 minutes before more food was brought out. At 9:20, My wife waited 30 minutes today before more eggs were brought out. If we were in a hurry this morning, we would’ve been stuck with cold cereal. The staff does not seem to be able to keep some breakfast foods in stock with the current occupancy rate.”
Nicholai Borisov
Nicholai Borisov: I had to wait until 9PM for my room to be ready. Yes, 9PM!!! At the end the room was still dirty, thankfully at least beds were clean. I appreciate the efforts front desk staff did to help, as much as they could, but I would never go back.

christina nino
christina nino: I booked a night at this hotel this weekend after my boyfriend stayed there for over 2 weeks. It is a pet friendly environment and the gym is fully equipped with new machinery. The rooms are very spacious with many outlets and comfy bed. There was only a mini fridge and no microwave. The staff overall was friendly, however, there were 2 incidents that we had with the staff that was very disappointing. My boyfriend stayed in that room for over 2 weeks and they only cleaned the room once. We had asked for the staff to provide us new sheets, towels, and washcloths and remove the old bedding and trash in the room. I informed them that my dog would be gone the entire day to be groomed so they may clean the room. Unfortunately, they do not clean the rooms while you are staying there because of Covid. We had to change our own sheets and take the trash out and after asking on 4 different occasions for them to bring us all that we asked for, we finally received everything. We had also asked for a late check out, which they approved. The next day we had gone downstairs to reactivate the room keys and the staff told us we could not do late checkout. We only had 45 minutes to checkout or we would have been charged another night. Overall, we had decent experience, although, I personally will not come back to this hotel.
Response: Christina, thank you for being our guest and sharing your concerns. We are pleased that we met most of your expectations, but we are sorry for the oversight in preparing your room. We strive to provide every guest with clean, comfortable accommodations; therefore, we truly regret this was not your experience. Morgan Giddings
Morgan Giddings: Lucky to have discovered this on the hotel tonight app! The front desk staff were welcoming, attentive and kind. The workout equipment in room was clean and new, and the entire place was immaculate. They have standup and sit down desks in every room! Gym with huge windows too. The juice bar wasn’t there and the bar was closed for licensing but overall a stellar experience irregardless of the great value.
Response: Morgan, thank you for your kind words about our hotel; we are delighted you had an excellent stay and that you enjoyed our accommodations, most notably the fitness amenities in your room. We are also glad you loved our thoughtful services and the fitness center. Thank you once more for choosing EVEN Hotel Rockville-Washington, D.C. Area, and we look forward to welcoming you again soon. Best Regards, Tamara M General Manager
Andrea Paul
Andrea Paul: First business trip, first time staying here. Highly impressed with the level of customer service! Gary, Grace & Theresa were very professional and went above the line of duty when I came across what was an emergency need. I forgot all combs and brushes at home. Standing in my room with a wet head and no means to get ready I was in a panic. I called the front desk and asked if they had anything I could purchase. Unfortunately they didn’t. I had to be downstairs ready in 15 mins for my first work event. The staff jumped in and went to the local gas station to see if they could assist. I was SO pleasantly surprised when Gary showed up at my hotel room with a brush & comb in a gift bag. They literally saved my day! I know it may sound silly, but a woman with wet hair and no means to style my hair. Let’s just say I was SO thankful they came to my rescue! I would highly recommend this hotel and if in the area would stay here again! Thanks again for the best customer service ever in my books! 😉
Response: Andrea, thank you for giving EVEN Hotels Rockville-Washington, D.C. Area an excellent rating while you were here for business. Your feedback proves that our thoughtful and caring associates enjoy what they do and show their devotion to giving every guest an excellent experience. We agree the associates mentioned are a great asset to our team, and we are honored to have them as part of the team. We appreciate your kind words of recognition and recommendation. It was a pleasure to host you, and we look forward to your next visit. Best Regards, Tamara M General Manager
David Cheung
David Cheung: If you are fitness focused, this hotel is for you. The gym has multiple treadmills, spin bikes, towers, etc. They have dumbbells that go up to 50 lbs. The treadmills are the fancy ones that cost as much as a car and have the thick belt. The rooms were clean.
Response: David, thank you for staying with EVEN Hotel Rockville-Washington, D.C. Area. We are delighted you could take advantage of the gym and appreciated our fresh accommodations. Providing an exceptional experience to every guest is what we strive for every day, and we look forward to welcoming you soon. Best Regards, Tamara M General Manager
Jessica Stone
Jessica Stone: Very nice staff 🤩 ! Great fitness center with various equipment including decent spin bikes and rubberized treadmills that are easy on the joints. Very cool in-room equipment set up as well - yoga mat, block, roll, fitness straps and big medicine ball. The room was simple, clean, minimalistic. Another healthy, appreciated touch - the filtered lemon-ginger water as you walk into the hotel. ✨ Even Hotel is located within walking distance (next plaza over from the hotel) to a Fresh Market grocery store, Chopit (salads/soups), Starbucks, Barnes and Noble cafe and Mosaic Cafe (breakfast) for some healthy food options. Nice stay for a good price. Thank You to all the staff at Even Hotel! ✨

Aquil Basheer: It was excellent because of your staff, they were all good but Gary was outstanding!! He was professional, on task, and handled his business extremely well! I actually thought he was the manager the way he preformed. Salute to the management for selecting and employing individuals like Gary. Because of him I will continue to stay at your hotel and tell others to the same. Salutes to all of you!!
