Sheraton Pentagon City Hotel: what do users think?

Trinity Claycomb: It’s a normal hotel with a good price. What makes it better is the customer service. The gentleman that checked me in was so nice and friendly. His name was Kobe. Such a gentleman and a genuinely nice person. Gave me a $25 food credit because I walked a long way due to google map mess up and I had my baby daughter with me. Hopefully he sees this review because I really appreciate his kindness and amazing attitude.

Darnell Jackson: Upon arriving there the staff was already accommodating. The lady who checked us in was very helpful. Nice and courteous. She was a little busy checking people in. Bit still maintained that great attitude when my girlfriend and I got to her. Explained things clearly. Professionalism was on point. Being a hotelier for 30 years in that service as a server. It's good to see good people still enjoying what they love to do. Hats off to all of the staff encountered! Great job.

Hoyt Phillips: Recently stayed here for 2 nights for a work trip. The staff was very friendly, helpful and efficient. Kobe was great checking me in and scheduling a cab for me when I left. The hotel is a bit dated but clean. The elevators are really fast. The restaurant is somewhat limited and you get your food to go after ordering at the bar. Overall a nice stay and it’s really close to DCA airport.
Response: Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us, Hoyt. It was a pleasure to welcome you as our guest and we are happy to know we were able to make the majority of your stay enjoyable. We look forward to welcoming you back soon!

Jack Li: What happens when an airline overbooks economy? They offer you a free upgrade to business or first class. The opposite of that happened at this Sheraton. My girlfriend and I checked in late last weekend for the start of cherry blossom season. Our reservation was a king room which we were really looking forward to because we're squeezed onto a full size bed back home. However, when we entered our room, we were shocked to find another full size bed. Immediately back down we went to bring this to the front desk's attention. The guy wasn't very helpful nor audible - he just said sorry there's nothing we can do because all the king size rooms were already booked. Shocked by this lack of service we complained because we paid for a king size room and were given a full size room; he said the only thing he could do was offer breakfast vouchers. The following day we learned two things – our friend who checked in later than us got a king room and also the breakfast buffet was forgettable. I’d never pay $25 out of pocket such lackluster food. Overall horrible experience and will never come back. Stay clear of this Sheraton.
Response: First and foremost, please accept my sincerest apologies for the unsatisfactory experience you had during your time with us, Jack. We are disheartened to hear that we fell short in so many areas throughout your visit and that your experience did not match your expectations. We appreciate your feedback immensely and I can assure you that we will do everything in our control to rectify your concerns from this recent visit. I never like hearing that our guests won’t be back, and I hope you will give us another opportunity to gain your trust and show you the outstanding service we normally provide.

Lucas K. Chalhoub: Perhaps the best word to describe the Pentagon City Sheraton is "decadence." It has all of the characteristics of a formerly good hotel whose quality is undermined by falling standards and lazy management. The room: spacious, airy, good bed. Decor is generic but generally pleasant. The carpet was stained, the shower pressure was lackluster, and the bathroom sink handles had an unidentifiable but incredibly disgusting green gunk in the hole where the screws go. No idea why the room's fridge (empty) was not inside its allotted space in the cabinet, but beside it, which made it look improvised. The breakfast buffet (included in our stay) was just sad and most definitely not worth the vouchers' nominal value of 25 dollars. Just overall few options for both food and drink. The waffles were soggy, the sausage unremarkable, the fruit salad very nearly rancid. The one employee handling the buffet and dining area was frazzled and clearly overburdened. The situation at the bar was not much better. The service was overall underwhelming. Everyone needs better training or at least better managers. We know by now how Covid-19 works. The hotel's "adaptations" for the pandemic make no sense. Why close the pool and shut down room service for an airborne virus? The best guidance is have people gather in open air (such as a pool) or eat indoors isolated (room service). Instead, the changes look more like cost-saving measures that use the pandemic as a poor excuse. The location is fine; the shuttle could be more frequent. The room TV should give guests the option to connect their Netflix/Prime/etc accounts, instead of offering ludicrous pay-per-view options (20 dollars for a single movie, really, Sheraton? Get a grip). All in all, a lackluster experience. Glad I didn't have to stay more than two days.
Response: Thank you for taking the time to share your honest feedback, Lucas. We’re so sorry to hear that your experience did not match your expectations. This is an uncommon instance as the vast majority of our guests trust us with their stay and enjoy their experience with us to the fullest. We work very hard to make sure all of our guests have a rewarding stay and are disheartened to learn of your disappointment. We hope you will give us another opportunity to better serve you on your next visit - we have no doubt that the next time you would have the wonderful experience that most of our guests have.

Daniel Gomez: Nothing about the stay was downright awful, but there were a lot of small things that were inconvenient. The shuttle from the airport only runs once an hour (which I don't think they ever mentioned), lights in the room would randomly go out and come back on (maybe bad wiring?), the wall mounted bottle of body wash in the shower wasn't refilled before we checked in so we had to go down to the front desk and they gave us a small bottle, the shower and sink seemed a bit old, and checkout took a while because they only had 1 person working at the front desk with 6 or 7 people in line. On the bright side, the bed was comfortable and the decor is nice. Overall, it felt like a 2 star hotel while we paid for a 3/3.5 star hotel.
Response: Thank you for taking the time to share your honest feedback, Daniel. We’re so sorry to hear that your experience did not match your expectations. This is an uncommon instance as the vast majority of our guests trust us with their stay and enjoy their experience with us to the fullest. Janette Cobb: I’d like to take a moment to recognize 2 employees that went over the top to make my stay pleasant during a very tough time for me. I recently stayed at this location due to extreme weather delays from a airline flight. During my stay Employees Carmen and Gelila where are exceptionally phenomenal and took pride in ensuring stay was comfortable. I can honestly say that this was my most memorable experience EVER at a Marriott property. I highly recommend staying the rooms where clean, staff was friendly, knowledgeable and always helpful 10STAR review! Thank you guys so much

Nick Ferguson: Great location when visiting the district. The services offered were more limited than past visits. Not being able to use the roof pool was disappointing. It's a great view of the city and having it closed was disappointing. Check-in staff was welcoming and pleasant. The morning checkout was lackluster. The person behind the counter didn't even stand or great guests. It was a less than inviting end of a stay.
Response: Thank you for taking the time to share your honest feedback, Nick. This level of detail is important for us so we know exactly how we can improve for future experiences. While we are delighted to have welcomed you as our guest, we are saddened to hear that we fell short in delivering the amazing experience guest have come to expect. We really appreciate the constructive criticism, and will constantly work towards meeting that expectation that we proudly set amongst all our guests. On a more positive note, we are glad to know that you enjoyed other aspects of your stay. Our goal is to always provide great service that will make you want to return again and again. We hope that you will give us another try and let us prove this to you during your next visit.

Banumathi Selvaraj: I went with my family and we were very disappointed. We were looking forward to the buffet but we got very few options. There is no dining option. Food did not meet our expectations. Poor service. We waited a while for our food. The bed was comfortable to sleep in. We had a great view of the Pentagon and the Washington monument. I wouldn’t recommend staying here.
Response: Thank you for taking the time to share your experience from your recent stay with us, Banumathi. First and foremost, please accept my sincerest apologies for the unsatisfactory experience you had during your time with us. We work very hard to make sure all of our guests have a rewarding stay and are disheartened to learn of your disappointment. I never like hearing that our guests won’t be back, and I hope you will give us another opportunity to gain your trust and show you the outstanding service we normally provide.

Shelley Brosnan: Front desk staff was incredibly personal, professional and helpful as I had some questions regarding my reservation. They also made sure I knew of all the amenities. I remember Gelina at the front desk helping me, she was very kind to me. There is a shuttle to the National Mall which is super convenient (and maybe to the airport? ). It is a 10 minute drive from all of the DC attractions, minutes from the airport, and there is a parking garage- cheaper than all the other hotels nearby. Lovely views, as my room looked out over the Air Force Memorial and the Pentagon and Capitol in the background. There is a convivence store inside the hotel for any last-minute souvenirs or forgotten items from home, as well as a bistro inside for American-style food and drinks from morning to afternoon, and again in the evening. One more thing, it is so quiet! I travel a lot for work and when you are able to get a good night sleep, it makes a huge difference. I will be staying here again in a few week and I am excited.

Sheraton Suites Old Town Alexandria: what do users think?

Derek Kruger: Don't forget to use ʜoᴛᴇʟʙoʟʟʏ.ᴄᴏm when booking your resort. This site will compare hundreds of hotel sites and normally will have prices much cheaper compared to others! Thank me later! This resort is the best rated in this area. I have been staying here for years. If you stay for a few days you won't be let down. My husband and I had to unexpectedly stay at the Sheraton Hotel while we wait for repairs to our condo to be done. I have worked in the hospitality industry for years. I will say I believe this location is short staff. Seeing the staff work morning and night trying to make accommodations for guests under the demands is very impressive. The all have executed hospitality very well. They all have continued to keep their composure and patience when busy. I know it can be very overwhelming at times. I think all of the staff here are very personable and do an amazing job. I hope they all are rewarded for their hard work. Its hard to find good help and they all are it!

Michelle Vernon: I should have read reviews. Pros: It’s really close to an amazing Thai restaurant and Harris Teeter. It’s walkable to the Potomac River and a park. Location is perfect for travelers. It has good AC and the bed and pillows are comfy. The staff were really friendly. Cons: There is no early check-in, so when you get there, there is a line out the door and it takes nearly 30 minutes to check-in. One of the elevators was broken, so it took forever to get to the room. This hotel also doesn’t have anything included (the free wifi is really slow) Parking is $32 a night, water bottles left in the room aren’t free. There is no microwave…NO MICROWAVE. The coffee isn’t very good in the room. The showers don’t drain well. Customer service wasn’t helpful. I called multiple times to confirm that the location I stayed at had a pool and both times the person I spoke to verified it did. One part of the website also said there was a pool, or I misread….The specific room details said that a pool wasn’t an included amenity but photos of the location and calls to the hotel said otherwise. When you call, you apparently don’t get people at the location.

Olga Andrizhievskaya: Pros: It was clean and comfy, cozy. We had a king bed and sofa bed suit for 5 members, 2 adults and 3 kids. The bedroom had enough space to put a playpen for our 1 year old. The sofa bed is queen size, but our 2 kids 8 and 11 yo lay across it with no prob. Nice location with many restaurants, walkable and safe. Room was affordable. There's a little fridge and Keurig. Cones: Literally nothing is included. No microwave. Even water bottle was 8$ Breakfast 17$ per person, parking 32$ per night. You can order dinner in the room till 11 pm, and breakfast till 11 am, or you can go downstairs and there's a buffet, where they serve you food. Food is very basic and overpriced, not worth it.

Walt Kita: I wanted to like this place. The best I can say is that it was't awful, more like passable. Located in a quiet corner of Alexandria, Old Town, the overall vibe of the neighborhood vibe was pretty "chill" (as the kids say). The accommodations were OK, clean, but nothing special at more than $250 a night. Little things kind of irked me -- a closet door that didn't quite fit right, a missing panel in the kitchen. These things were small potatoes compared to the infernal racket made by the cleaning crew late at night and early the morning. The vacuum sounded like a misfiring airplane engine. I was, however, impressed with the homemade pizza from the hotel restaurant. The service was good too. A tip of the hat to the bartender! My overall rating: 2.5 Stars out of 5.

Matthew Crater: I expressed my concern over potential food positioning within the hotel restaurant on 1/1/22. The manager, which was not there the entire weekend, was set to call me on that Monday to discuss this matter. It is now two weeks later and I have yet to receive a call or email back. I understand that these situations come up with food especially, however, what I don't understand is how I can be completed ignored by the management of this specific branch. Do yourself a favor and spend a few extra dollars or look around for another hotel that is close by. You will not get the customer support from this location in the event that something happens with your stay that you likely get at another hotel. I have not heard back from the manager, complaints department, and the higher executives within the company via email or call. It is extremely disappointing. The beds were comfortable.

Shennel Courtney: The lady that waited on us was very kind and professional and very helpful. Everything was great!. The only things i didn't like is that you have to pay for parking in the hotel garage. And you also have to pay for breakfast. The room was very nice and clean.

Joanna young: I have no Pros to talk about this hotel. We do a lot of traveling for our kids sports, and this is by far the worst experience we have had at a hotel. We would have a better experience at a motel 6. When we first got to the hotel they put a $150 hold on our account for incidentals, which is I think is a lot to begin with, but then the lady told us that it didn't go through in their system(but the hold did come out of our account) so we had to put another$150 hold on our account, so in total we had a $300 hold on our account for incidentals. Next the breakfast was included, it was $18 per person(we have a 6 person family) we also had to pay $32 a night for parking. On top of this the customer service was horrible. We needed extra blankets and pillows for the sofa bed, they didn't have any extra of anything!! The view outside was a gravel pit and storage for ladders and other work equipment. I will never stay here again. We had the worst experience!!!

Wulfie Clark: First, the good news….great location. Super amenities & waterfront nearby. Extremely poor hotel service. Checked in on a Sunday, used to housekeeping every couple of days in these times. By Wednesday, nothing. Go to the desk to be informed you have to REQUEST housekeeping. Ok, by this time, the 3 small trashcans in the room are overflowing & no usable towels. Request housekeeping come the next day & ask for fresh towels and facial tissue. End of that day, nothing. Call guest services, request towels AGAIN, finally get them. Thursday? You guessed it, no housekeeping. Just like at home, took out the trash myself (took it downstairs to a large can outside the front entrance). You have to do a better job of taking care of your guests than this.

Ross Robert: I'm so happy I chose to stay here. The front desk/management staff has been fantastic and so friendly. Ridhi from front desk is awesome and help me faster and more efficiently than any 5-star luxury hotel ever could. The hotel was nice and quiet. Only thing to speed up is the construction going on

The St. Regis Washington, D.C.: what do users think?

Lisa: You will hear the food and beverage director before you see him. During our trip, he raised his voice multiple times quite angrily - it was quite concerning to hear him speak to guest service staff in such a way and that he was comfortable enough to do it in front of guests, too. Otherwise, my husband and I had an absolutely lovely stay. Our room was amazing and there were lots of friendly faces. I also especially enjoyed the pillows, and I wish I had thought to ask what type they were as they were super comfy.

Hampus Engstroem: Don't forget to use ʜoᴛᴇʟʙoʟʟʏ.ᴄᴏm when booking a hotel. This website will compare thousands of booking web sites and usually will have prices a lot cheaper compared to others! Thank me later! This hotel is one of the highest rated in this area. I have been staying here for a long time. If you decide to stay here you for sure won't regret it. We went to St.Regis afternoon tea to celebrate the cherry blossom season and it didn't disappoint. The place is nice and their tea selection is amazing. It's a set menu. I personally enjoyed the savory part more. While the sweets were well represented and looked amazing, nothing tasted special but the scones. I highly recommend it I just wished that I have the choice of picking what I'd like instead of having little of everything. They offered a to-go box for the rest of the sweets though.

Sade Smith-Edwards: The hotel is amazing and me and my husband went here for the afternoon tea this passed Friday. It was our 5 year anniversary and we were thinking of staying the night after a fun day of hanging out in the city. Our opinion had changed when the person servicing us essentially never addressed me, even when I was the one asking questions. When my husband asked to have champagne, only HE got to taste it and I was blatantly ignored. She had her back to me as often as possible... That is until I was the one paying the check. I have NEVER, and I do mean never, been treated that way in any service capacity. This completely deterred me from book a night there. I'm sure the staff and hotel is wonderful but this was not a good look. And this was our 5 year anniversary. Probably will think twice before considering going here for a stay.

Ghaida Alshabnan: We went to St.Regis afternoon tea to celebrate the cherry blossom season and it didn't disappoint.

Squirrely: Five stars all around. The rooms are elegant, updated, clean, and comfortable. Each staff member I dealt with went above and beyond to help. I was especially pleased with the front desk employee who grabbed me a cup of coffee in the middle of the night when I had to catch an early flight. The location is excellent and there are plenty of restaurants and attractions within walking distance.

J. Jasmine Villanueva: My husband and I took a last minute trip to Washington and decided to take my parents to this facility and couldn't be happier. Rooms and service were nothing short of amazing. The staff at any St. Regis property NEVER disappoints. Oh, and it's literally a 3 minute walk from the White House and restaurants, etc. I highly recommend this hotel for anyone who is visiting Washington DC.

Sarah Morris: Unfortunately this was a disappointing and underwhelming experience. The hotel is pretty but lacks 5 star service. I have dust allergies and spent most of my time here with a clogged nose which miraculously cleared up when outdoors!! I assume this was to a lack of cleaning of their filtering system. The staff did their best and offered complimentary breakfast but I really cannot excuse having a poor night's sleep in a hotel? Certainly not worth the price ticket and I would choose elsewhere if I return.

Liem Huynh: We stayed for one night in the Metropolitan Suite in June 2022. The room desperately needs renovation and service was nonexistence. Disappointing experience overall. No prearrival email, no response when I emailed the butler service for restaurant reservation, zero communication from the butler during the entire stay. Unfriendly lobby staff, no greeting, had to open the door on my own at times. The Metropolitan Suite was old and in need of a renovation. Dirty pillow cases, worn out carpets, water from faucet smelled a little punky and we even found pieces of shattered glass on the floor. Only positive experience was the check-in, after that everything went down hill. Recommend trying something else while you’re in DC. Much better experience at the Ritz Carltons if you’re a Marriott fan.

Joe J.: Amazing tea experience in DC, probably the best in terms of service, flavor, presentation and selection of teas. The cherry blossom touch is a nice and pleasant surprise. Although it is on the pricey end, definitely recommend!

Ayesha SH: I attended the Whimsy event on April 1. Pros and cons below: Pros: Wine was good. We ordered a Napa cab so it was costly. Ambiance was decent. The best part was their waiters who were super friendly and hospitable. Cons: I was told parking would be validated prior to attending the event. On the day of they refused. We spent upwards of $600 and they wouldn’t validate the parking. Food was ok. I didn’t feel that great later at night. The princess thing was childish, hilarious, and unnecessary. Adults attend these kinds of events not kids. Overall not worth the money they charged us.

Sheraton Rockville Hotel: what do users think?

Lewis G: I had my room canceled at another hotel and had to drive to this hotel. When I arrived for an early check in, the front desk clerk (Mr. Addy I believe) did an exceptional job easing my check in process. He made sure (on his own) that I had an available room and my wife and daughter was able to get some needed rest. Great hotel to stay in and when I am back in town again, I know where I will be staying. Best.

Raimy beau: For a Sheraton it is not very clean. The towels were not very clean. But for the price it's not bad. I paid for breakfast for four days and I only went one day. I ordered two egg tortillas and they were fried in butter, but they seemed like they were drowned in that oil. I really liked the location, it looks very quiet and is next to some very nice apartments.

rennae francis: First things first, they need to remove the pool as an amenity on their booking sites. When we arrived, we inquired about the pool and the host stated it was closed due to covid. How could that be when the gym was open 24/7? Gym is really small but has enough quipment do get a decent workour. We stayed in a room on the 5th floor. Decent size. Lacks modern upgrades such as usb charging or just plain outlets at the nightstands. Other than that, everything was fine. The food laid out in the morning near the elevators were great. They have onsite laundry services and also free parking. I'd stay there again.

Amy S.: Room was not kind of clean and very dingy. It was not at all what I expected for the price. I'm not sure what the grossness was on the nightstand but I put tissues down to set my phone on it. Carpet looked like it was purchased off of a clearance rack in the last century, complete with freyed ends. The curtains don't go shut over the thin translucent blind so you end up with light coming in all night. The room temp was set so high it took half the night on AC mode (in December) to cool it off enough for me to sleep. The doors clank loudly as people go in and out of the rooms. This Kept me awake most of the first night. As you aproach the entrance people stand outside and smoke. When I inquired about rules of smoking next to entrances in MD I was told by hotel staff that was the designated smoking area. Gross! And my allergies didn't appreciate that either. I'm pretty sure he was wrong and just being lazy. I don't see how this hotel was rated so highly, even inside of the elevator looked gross. Like the metal walls had never been wiped down. There was only half of a roll of TP with no replacement and I was scheduled here for two days. I gave an extra star (would have given only one) because daytime hotel staff was nice. Overall, the area seems safe but the nasty and loudness are enough to send me packing. I won't be back.

mahlail shahid: they couldn’t locate my reservation at first but the front desk rep was able to create a new one for me. then i got a call later on from the front desk to tell me that maintenance had to come and fix the blind in the room like why couldn’t that wait? i had to ask them that i want them to wait and then the key cards to the room were deactivated somehow and i had to go all the way to the front desk to get a new card. very bad experience. not sure if i will be coming back.

Craig Zimmer: Needs updating as there are no USB charging places that work. The room is comfortable but the hvac controls are on the unit not a thermostat.

Christina: Not at all what I would have expected. Front desk staff bordered on rude and overall not very helpful. Room was clean. Parking is $20 per night.

Brian Lord: From your walk into the lobby to you reaching your room immaculate. Clean room, friendly staff A++ stay.
