Hilton Garden Inn Washington DC/U.S. Capitol: what do users think?

Siobhan Walker: My stay was amazing. My room was spacious and so clean. The front desk was polite, helpful and very professional. Octavia was awesome. She was most helpful because the hotel I had a current reservation for had canceled my reservation and I had to make a reservation here last minute. She provided me the most outstanding customer service possible even with my frustration from the other hotel. Any questions I had was answered and my stay was relaxing. I definitely recommend this hotel to anyone.

Angela Baca: The air conditioning in our room never worked even after they had someone come and fix it. The elevator stopped on every floor. The pool was available but it was foggy and couldn’t see the bottom of the pool because of this. Burned my kids eyes and mine. This hotel is older and not maintained well by Hilton. There are no fans in the bathroom so if you take a hot shower your whole hotel room fills with steam. The people are nice and it is located near a metro. Those are the only two things that are good about this hotel. Only stay here unless you just can’t find anywhere else to stay.

Washington Hilton: what do users think?

Loretta Harrison: I travel quite a bit and have stayed at some of the best hotels around. I was truly disappointed with the check in and the size of the room. I only wanted to spend the night so I could travel home safely after an afternoon event. Parking was an extra $52.00 and $20.00 for a destination fee??? I am glad I purchased the room online cause they may have charged me for even more bogus charges. The entrance is spacious but the room is dated for a four star hotel. I say get your stuff together Washington Hilton. You can and should be soooo much better! PS. No microwave or mini fridge. Really

Husky Ski: Very nice and flexible front desk service. Let me check in a little bit earlier. I left my noise canceling headphone behind. I called the hotel and they mailed it back to me, and I received it in 4 days. what a great service. Room is a little dated, but very comfy and has all the things you need. a lit if places nearby to explore.

Capital Hilton: what do users think?

blue Star: This is an older hotel that felt clean to me. I read some of the reviews and was very concerned about our stay but I must say our short 2-night stay was pain free. The room was big enough, clean, no smells or dirty carpet. The furniture had some minor dings and such but did not detract. The location was great for walking around and we felt safe. All the employees were pleasant and professional and seemed happy to be working there.

Emily C.: I’m glad we stayed in this hotel. Greeted by a staff work at the front desk and we were able to check in a little bit early. Very nice and friendly guy. We got a surprise the room was bigger than we thought and it was clean, we felt so welcome. The bed and sheets were clean and comfortable__that’s important when you are traveling. Great location easy to get to the places that we planted to visit. Thanks again!

Hilton Washington DC Capitol Hill: what do users think?

Workin Mom: I booked the same day as an impromptu stay with the family. We checked in at 9pm. Choice of parking was valet $59 or park in the street which after 10pm is free & free on Sundays. I was able to park across the street. Our double bed room was clean. Beds are full size, not queen, but were comfortable and bathroom was nicely renovated. I paid $200 for a Saturday night, last minute which I think is reasonable. Modern TV, 2 USB ports and plenty of towels. The clock radio screen was broken & the bathroom fan had cracked drywall, 2 things that could easily be fixed. Overall, happy with the location, price & cleanliness.

Christopher Platt: Travelled to DC with family for an educational trip, superb location for all that Smithsonian and National Mall had to offer - Union Station within two blocks walk. The hotel offered everything a young family would want, rooms were virtually soundproof, and everything was new, fresh, and clean. We were even welcomed by GM Jeff, he took great care of our kids and other guests at breakfast. Will 100% be returning to this hotel on all future visits!

Hilton Garden Inn Washington DC Downtown: what do users think?

Richard Walsh: Mixed review for families. The location is what you’re paying for. Everything is walking distance. The rooms are okay. Clean. Nothing spectacular. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The bar and restaurant were very good and not over priced. The parking, taxes, and fees were a little excessive. $50 nightly to park and then another $50 nightly in taxes is excessive. Turned our good deal into a pricey 2 night stay for my family of 5. The hotel pool hours were from 6am to 11pm which my kids loved. However it was very small and pretty cold. I would probably not stay here again as the city has many 3 star name hotels for similar prices.

Sandra: This hotel was amazing. The location is perfect to be able to walk everywhere in DC if you want to see the monuments and all the museums. There is a Starbucks across the street and a breakfast bagel too. The staff is super nice and helpful and the room is big and very clean. The bar and restaurant have great food and places to seat. I am coming back!

Hilton Washington DC National Mall The Wharf: what do users think?

P Taylor: Front desk, valet was great. Location was good and the hotel was aesthetically pleasing. The other reviews mentions the housekeeping duties being less than satisfactory and their right. I requested towels and toiletries and they never came. I requested the room to be cleaned while me and my family was out and it was never done. I watched the staff check rooms for room service (I happened to return while they were cleaning) and they never stepped foot inside. Then I had to chase them down for those extra towels. If it weren’t for that , this place would have 5 stars.

Catherine Poisson: This whole stay was strange and I should have taken the poor reviews more seriously. We used our Hilton Points to book a deluxe king room for a few days to visit DC. Upon arrival (more than an hour after check-in) the front desk staff informed us that they did not have a room ready or available for us. We’re flexible so we said okay, but they offered a different room - two king beds. We were just grateful to have a room, otherwise what would we have done? Waited in the lobby like others with our suitcases hoping for a room in the next few hours? So we take it, provide our credit card for incidentals, and head to our newly assigned room. The room was somewhat strange: they painted around the tv, the sink drain stopper was dislodged and did not work, and on the first night there was an extremely loud boom that woke my husband and I both up, called the front desk, and they said everything is fine. We genuinely were concerned enough to leave and stay somewhere else but ultimately decided to stay since it was the middle of the night. These things happen, no problem. The location was great and they actually have a pool which we didn’t know so that was a plus. Fast forward to today, a week after our trip, we see we were charged more than $800 (our room was already fully paid for using points), and also a miscellaneous $200 is pending. We call Hilton and after 30 minutes on the phone they say it was a room “upgrade”. With what we already paid, I could not imagine paying $1,800 for our “upgraded” room for three nights. Obviously we will not be paying this. A case has been made between our Hilton credit card and the hotel which we’re hoping has a positive outcome. I just want to warn others of our experience and the possible fraudulent charges, which result in the guest having to take time out of their day to correct hotels mistakes.

Hilton Club The District Washington D.C.: what do users think?

Joyce Wootten: Such a cool place! The Hilton Club is the top 3 floors of the Embassy Suites Hotel, so its kind of 2 hotels in one. The breakfast buffet thats included is 5 stars, the happy hour includes 2 free drinks per visitor. The only comment is the parking for hilton is not on-site which is a pain, there is also no room cleaning service and the pool was a bit dirty. Otherwise, highly recommended.

Dawn Bean: My husband and I stayed at the District in December 2021. The District is located on the top three floors of an Embassy Suites. As a Hilton Grand Vacations owner I was expecting the same type of "home" feel, but you feel like you are an Embassy Suites, same type room, same amenities, etc... An example is most time shares have either a washer and dryer in your suite or free access to a laundry area. Here, not only did we have to pay to use the washer and dryer we had to go down to the main floor get a bunch of quarters, fill our suitcase with our dirty laundry on the 8th floor, then go down to the 3rd floor to do laundry. A laundry basket would have been nice in the room and if we have to pay to use the machines at least have them so you can use a card or your phone for payment. Another example is there was only a wine fridge in our room, not a mini fridge, a wine/beverage fridge. A mini fridge, with a freezer would have been nice as well as a convection oven/microwave instead of a cheap microwave. Overall, the place was clean, nicely decorated, the staff was efficient and in a great location. Next time I would use my Hilton Honors points instead of using Club points and just stay at in an Embassy Suite room.

Homewood Suites by Hilton Washington, D.C. Downtown: what do users think?

Susan Cassidy: The staff of this hotel are kind and welcoming. They really keep an eye on things, which I appreciate. We felt like we were safe and in good hands during our stay. We found the location really terrific, the lobby and room very comfortable. I was with two other family members, and we got connecting rooms, which made the stay quite enjoyable. Love having the equipped kitchen -- many thanks for including the corkscrew!!

Amberly Nunn: I am on my first night of my first Spring Break since Covid trying to enjoy time with my family. Instead, I am spending the night talking to workers in a nightmare situation. I booked a Homewood Suites, there are two right down the road from each other. I must have booked the wrong one (the one without a pool) and my kids were devastated upon arrival. I spoke with the lady at the front desk and she said she would work with me to get it switched. I called the other Homewood and they were full, so they put me in Embassy instead, still Hilton owned. Now Homewood is not wanting to work with me and is charging me one night stay, saying I left voluntarily. While true, I thought it was with the understand that the woman at the desk would waive the night, especially since I am a VERY dedicated Honors member. I am disappointed and at a loss for words. I will now be paying an extra $450 for a hotel I will not be staying in. We had to save up quite a bit to stay at this brand in the first place; I expected a little compassion.

Hilton Garden Inn Washington DC/Georgetown Area: what do users think?

Ben Gould: Nice hotel, great location and generally very quiet neighbourhood. The rooms were fine but just little dark, even when the sun was shining I had to have a light on in my room which was a shame. Was with a group and had coupons for breakfast at Chef Geoff’s. The breakfast was ok, service was generally not with a smile and not so quick either. All that aside I probably would stay here again as the check in staff were friendly and very helpful when checking in our group.

Maddie Becker: Overall a pleasant stay! The hotel room was pretty average, but incredibly quiet. Very close to many delicious restaurants and cafes! The staff was helpful and allowed us to store our bags before and after checkout. Valet parking was on the expensive side, but was comparable to other places nearby. Only big concern - the hallways had a pretty terrible sewage smell, however it didn’t seem to extend into the rooms.

Homewood Suites by Hilton Washington DC NoMa Union Station: what do users think?

María Sulbarán: We chose this hotel for our first visit to DC, and I would stay here a million times again. Since the beginning the manager Angie was wonderful and accommodating. She gave us exactly the room that we needed, and the rest of the staff was wonderful as well. The room was beautiful, very nicely furnished and with a very convenient kitchen with everything we could need to cook a good meal. Breakfast was simple but just right, and the shuttle service was one of the most convenient amenities, besides the location. We were exhausted after spending all day out, and coming back to the hotel was always a pleasure. Thank you so much for being our home for 5 days, we will see you again next year!

Dawn Tarasyuk: The staff were incredible and the service was impeccable! Room and lobby were clean and the shuttle was a convenient way to get around. Loved this hotel!!

Canopy by Hilton Washington DC The Wharf: what do users think?

Elline Salvatierra-Farinas: We had a wonderful stay at this hotel, great views and accessible to a lot of restaurants and tourist sites. The hotel service was excellent. We had a late flight out so had the chance to visit a museum. The hotel kept our luggages after checking out and we just came back for them after a museum run. I would just recommend to advise guests not to park before checking in to prevent the hassle of taking the car out again and have it valet parking. Overall, the hotel was beautiful, welcoming and great service. I would highly recommend to stay here

Russ Dean: Keisha took wonderful care of us and accomodated an early check in. Valet was professional and on point. We had a studio suite that met all our needs. The bathroom left something to be desired but the floor to ceiling windows and accompanying views of the wharf and beyond made up for it. Location is perfect for a night out with lots to do and eat within 10 min walk. A must stay for me and always book riverfront!

Homewood Suites by Hilton Washington DC Capitol-Navy Yard: what do users think?

Terence Mack: Hotel’s location is convenient, with metro stop across the street and ample restaurants within close proximity. Quality of room was very good in all aspects. I gave a 4-star rating (and not 5) because I was on business trip and in a connecting room where I could easily hear folks in adjoining room. I changed rooms midway to non-connecting room, which was much quieter (lesson learned: beware of thin walls if in connecting room). Other amenities are very good (free breakfast in large room on second floor that also represented nice sitting area with good scenic views, small but very good fitness center, and rooftop bar). Staff is also very nice, professional, and pleasant.

Elissa Gervais: Can you stay here with a baby (or young child)? Yes! We stayed in a one bedroom with kitchenette. It had enough basic amenities to be really helpful (dish towels, dish soap, bowls, cups, etc.) and a full sized fridge. Everything was very clean. Cribs are available. Staff is unbelievably friendly!! Everyone went above and beyond, and was so nice. It made for such a nice stay. Valet was easy to use. App-based, which allows you to easily request car at any time. Pool is small but clean and towels were provided. Our son couldn’t get enough. Fitness zone appeared clean. Breakfast is offered daily. Location is amazing. Navy Yard itself has so many restaurants and outdoor patios, all within a short walking distance. Boardwalk along the river. Metro is just over a block away. Capital Hill is just over 5 minute drive; Georgetown 10-15 minutes; WWII Memorial 10 minutes; Arlington cemetery 10-15 minutes; National Zoo 20-25 minutes. Lots of activity in the area during baseball season, and there is a weekend farmers market during the warmer months.

Karen Orr: Hotel rooms are clean and cleaning staff are very friendly and hard working. I was disappointed with the pool not being opened in the middle of summer. Beds are uncomfortable and the pillows are so flat, all six of them! For the price of this place I expected nicer beds n pillows.

Margaret Sipola: Comfy beds and pillows, staff is nice, love the free cookies, rooms are quiet. Rooms could use a little bit of maintenance as the wall USB ports don’t work, fan in bathroom doesn’t work, and wand to operate blind is broken so I had to manually close/open. Overall a good place to stay that’s not too far of a walk from metro station and also has a free airport shuttle that we used.

Homewood Suites by Hilton Washington DC Convention Center: what do users think?

Tiffany Michelle: Upon arriving, an early check in was offered. I left my bags and went to explore the city. I received a call from the front desk saying that the early check in was available. I went back to the hotel and it was past the original check in. The day manager was gone and the next person denied calling and said our room was in fact not ready. We waited for several minutes then issued a room. When we finally made it up to the room. The room was dirty with pet hair on the floor and the door not opening properly. We had to use force each time we needed to open or close it. The room was hot and the thermostat was locked. Engineering was called 3 times with no improvement in the room temperature. Staying in a hotel where you can’t adjust the temperature is awful. We were offered a room change around midnight. We moved into another room after two miserable nights with no air conditioning. I was offered a room credit for the inconvenience and terrible service. When I went to check out, there were no notes on the account. The manager said he would ask his employees and call me back. Of course, he never called. The room was very overpriced to have such a terrible experience.

Fletcher Falls: I want to start off by saying that the front line staff at this location was extremely friendly and were as helpful as they could be. This review is directed at the management team. My issues are as followed. 1. Currently I have been overbilled by $65 and they are unable to correct it. 2. The pet policy is not clearly stated. it states pets are welcome but there is no information in the large print that there is additional charge. It just states to give them a heads up. Which I did. 3. I asked for late check-out when I booked told it was not a problem I even called. Then when I get there they told me I could not have a late check out. As they were fully booked the next day. 4. We rent a King suite with a pull out couch to sleep a family of four which was our intention. Unfortunately the hotel could only supply a bed sheet for the pull out couch and no blanket. They told me there was supposed to be one in the room there was not one. I called the front desk and they said all their laundry was out being cleaned so they could not provide one. There was no mention of reimbursement for this slip in service. When I called to discuss these things I was not happy with how it was settled. They basically said it was a me problem. Currently my stay which online stated would cost me $193 including taxes is costing me $350 including taxes. Just killing you with the extras in fine print. Pet stay $50, car parking $49 and what ever else they overbilled me on. Just make this information more upfront so people can make an informed decision. I will be avoiding Homewood suites until they can be upfront with their guests.

Embassy Suites by Hilton Washington DC Georgetown: what do users think?

Mary Leibold: I am going to be honest, I expected more. The staff were AMAZING and so helpful. I am a nurse and came to DC for a just a night get away. After all my activities I arrived late but planned a nice night in treating myself to room survive. Unfortunately they had closed the kitchen early. Relaxing in bed I was shocked to find out it didn’t have any smart features or any ability to even buy a movie. So o watched TV on my phone. And after asking for late checkout to sleep in unfortunately I was still awoken by housekeepers. Nice staff. But I expected more.

Damon Anthony: Hotel was great. The breakfast was dynamite. Most of the staff were very friendly and helpful. Good location. My only issue was that some of the guests were being too comfortable. I noticed several times various guests walking around the lobby and restaurant without shoes or even barefooted. One lady was walking around the main lobby with only a robe. What happened to “No shoes, No shirt, No service.”

DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Washington DC - Silver Spring: what do users think?

Trent Brink: I realize that there are staff shortages so I won’t be too harsh with my review. The front desk staff were friendly and quick to help. My main complaint is that the room was in need of renovation and updating. Other then that the cookies were delicious and the valet was easy to use when it wasn’t too busy and we didn’t have issues with other people staying at the hotel. The location of this hotel is extremely convenient, close to the interstate, a metro station, the mall, and lots of restaurants. Which is why I picked this hotel.

amber then: We traveled to the area for a family members funeral and had made a group reservation for 12 people. Every single one of our rooms were disgustingly musty and hot. We called front desk to tell them our rooms were incredibly hot even though the thermostat read 60 degrees. They sent a tech that was in the room for no more than 1 minute, he said it was fixed but he didn’t do anything at all. We all slept without any covers and were still drenched in sweat. We asked to change rooms in the morning and they sent us to another room that was exactly the same. The rooms are significantly hotter and more humid than even outside. The AC only blows the fan, not cold air. Horrible experience.

Linda Maneen: Every staff member was great, helpful, friendly, and welcoming. Each did an excellent job in representing Hilton. The rooms definitely needed upgrading, so it is good that renovation is underway. Some guests were obnoxious, but that could not be helped. Fewer dogs would have been nice, too. The breakfasts and happy hours were most enjoyable. Because of the staff, five stars were earned.

Laura Taylor: This is the second time I have stayed at this hotel. The staff are excellent. I would like to mention Jessica, Richard and Brigitte who provided excellent service. The breakfast and manager’s reception are great. The rooms are clean, but during the course of our stay (that is why I have only given a 4 rating). The rooms could have been cleaned a bit better. One day, our garbages were not emptied. Overall, it was a good experience, but with the room blocks for the conference I attended, I was not able to stay a day longer that I needed to.

Hilton Crystal City at Washington Reagan National Airport: what do users think?

Katie: One of the more dated rooms I’ve stayed in in a long time. Bathroom is cramped and not lit well. TV is tiny and old for what you expect to see in rooms these days. Doors slam shut, and there is no noise proofing. So you can hear when every person on your floor comes and goes. Air conditioner was squeaking and knocking non stop, and it was very loud. A bummer of a stay. Staff was very friendly and the only reason this didn’t get a 1 star visit.

Benjamin Jaehning: Overall, an extremely dated and poorly maintained property. Our first room had a used mask in it when we checked in. Don’t expect to use the free shuttle service, they only operate a small van instead of the mini bus they also own resulting in multiple parties unable to board. Suggestion for management, learn the flight waves out of the airport and plan capacity accordingly. The rooms are extremely dated, sheets scratchy, hallways a blistering 80F and lack AC, gym dated and AC non-functional, food subpar and over priced ($5 for a cup of Folgers coffee when I can go to Starbucks for less). The only highlight, the staff is extremely kind and caring. They’re doing the best with what they have been given. My hope is hotel ownership spends some money to get this back to a Hilton quality product vs Holiday Inn. I mean don’t just spend money on a lobby renovation, actually address concerns in the building.

dave bardsley: Room had large water stains on the ceiling, exterior looked horrible, not taken care of. They charge for continental breakfast. I would not stay there again. Fire alarm went of in the middle of the night and the staff did nothing. DANGEROUS

Termia Pendarvis: Well first off my daughter saw a rodent in the room our first night there. I actually had to pull the sofa back in my suite to find my phone and there were mouse droppings all behind the sofa. Second, the sheets had not been cleaned properly. Two of the doors were broken. And the mattress for the pull out sofa was damaged looks like it needs to be replaced immediately. The cleanliness was not up to par. However the staff were very pleasant and attentive which is why I gave a 2 star rating.

Hampton Inn Washington DC NoMa Union Station: what do users think?

Ria Edwards: The room was clean and we had a great view of the Capital Building. The gym wasn’t as clean but its a gym and I appreciated being able to work out. The pool wasn’t the cleanest either but the kids enjoyed it. Breakfast was a surprise, there was a variety of things to choose from. This alone make a huge difference b/c if you’re with children especially, you save yourself the time and money of buying breakfast. The location of the hotel was close to pretty much everywhere we traveled to. We drove, so I can’t speak on public transportation. The stay was well priced, I’m glad our valet parking was included in it, because paying $50 extra per day would have been a deal breaker. But, the parking rates are similar for other hotels in the area, self parking isn’t really an option plus, if you did, the hourly charge would make no sense.

Amanda: Everyone at the front desk was really nice and the rooms were very clean. The shuttle was insanely helpful for my friends and I! The pool and hot tub was also clean and a nice area. Breakfast was just okay, but pretty standard for Hampton hotels. Would definitely stay again
