Corado's: what do users think?

Martina Rosen: Do NOT order a burrito here. It is almost entirely unseasoned white rice. I’m not joking or exaggerating. I’ve never seen anything like it. Over ten dollars for a flour tortilla filled with plain white rice. I mean filled. There was a thin strip of black beans and a bit of guacamole, but a 3” diameter core of white rice made up almost the entire inside of the burrito. I ordered a veggie burrito with all the fixings.

Kaia Zawadi: This place is really a nice quaint place to chow down at. While walking around the hood we saw this place and I said this is it! We were greeted by the owner and she talked to us about Bolivia while offering us samples of the horchata drink. Everything was tasty! I had to have the lomo saltado and when I say it was one of the best things I ever ate in life, I mean that! The french fries were so crunchy even with the sauce soaked in each of the fries they stayed crunchy. I don't know what kind of sorcery that was but it was so delicious. My husband had the burrito and he demolished it. Yummy, I think I may go there for dinner tonight.

Ethan Russell: I would say the chicken burrito I had was one of the top 3 burritos I've had in my life. Excellent food, good atmosphere and polite waitress! Will be back 🙂

Erika Johanna: Corado’s was delicious. I had the cutest lunch date with my boyfriend here and had a frozen margarita, ceviche (which was soo good 🤤), sopa de res, and flan. Definitely would recommend the sopa de res, it had great taste and the meat was cooked perfectly which made it super tender. Check this place out for authentic Latin food !!!!

Bigboy Pratama: Newly Renovated and Under New Management. Food Taste Great! The Shrimp Ceviche is Bomb 💣and The Alcoholic Horchata is so refreshing 🤤. A++++++

g j: Amazing food for reasonable prices. Staff is very friendly and accommodating. Make sure to try the beef empanadas!

Moshe topas: I’m sorry I didn’t put a picture of my entree, but it was the seafood soup. I’ve had many seafood soups and I was not disappointed at all. Very filling and strong flavors of the sea. I really felt that for $14 they should’ve had a crab or a taste or lobster in there. The setting was gross, especially the drunk guy at the bar didn’t help it all. Other than that it’s a great place for a seafood soup! I’ll return and try other stuff.

Thomas Isidean: Great chicken burrito in this down to earth restaurant with friendly service. The chicken was tender and super tasty. You have the option of black or pinto beans. They also make a veggie version. Good sized portions.

Angie: This place is NOT Guatemalan. They are lacking the staples. They don’t have Rellenitos, or many popular things in Guatemala. Very disappointed, we ended up getting side dishes bc everything was so Americanized. It’s is not really Guatemalan very underwhelming.
Response: We are sorry you feel this way, we have many Guatemalan dishes such as the Plato típico, enchiladas guatemaltecas, tamales, chiles rellenos, etc…. However, if you look at our website you will see that before the pandemic Corado’s had a change in management in which we introduced many Latin American dishes such as salteñas, quesadillas, tacos, lomo saltado, empanadas, ceviche and others that are not Americanized dishes just simply from other Latin American countries. We do hope you enjoyed the food and our service. May you have a blessed day and hope to be able to serve you once more in the near future. Corado’s Management

Javier Rivera: Doing some work with brother in DC. We wanted to get some lunch so because this place was near our work site we went in. My brother and I were very happy with this choice. All we had were cheeseburgers but they were fantastic. Nice place very friendly owner and great cook. 5 stars all around the TV had soccer which was an added plus.
Response: Thank you Javier for stopping by and visiting us! We are glad to hear that you had an incredible experience with us and would love to see you again soon!

Cuba Libre Restaurant & Rum Bar - Washington, D.C.: what do users think?

Diana Hjelmeir: Husband and I love coming here for lunch/brunch on Sundays! If you like high end shopping, there is a shopping center right by this place. The interior is really well done, you feel like you're walked into a Universal Resort or theme park Cuban/Hispanic restaurant! I love seeing the interior whenever we eat here. We've always walked here, so I can't comment about the parking. I also didn't use the bathroom, so I also can't comment. Our waitress Paola was very patient with our children and loved interacting with them, thank you! Our orders were put in quickly and everything was delicious.
Response: WOW, Diana! Thank you for sharing this wonderful review! Here at Cuba Libre Washington DC, we strive to provide our guests with efficient service and mouthwatering dishes. Your praise lets us know we're succeeding! We're so glad you appreciated not only our inviting atmosphere and and courteous staff, but our delicious meals as well. We look forward to hosting you again soon for another memorable experience. Muchas gracias! -Matthew Fox General Manager, Cuba Libre Restaurant & Rum Bar Washington, DC

Da-Wang Wu: One of my favorite restaurants in DC. The interior design is pretty cool, and the ambience is great. My favorite is the seafood soup, very flavorful with lots of seafood inside. During dinner time (after 4pm), they serve toasted bread with mango butter, super refreshing flavor! Chicken croquette, fried yuca and empanadas are all very good. Guacamole is beautiful decorated but not the best one I’ve ever had. Paella doesn’t feel right, pretty wet. Churro as an ending dessert to be meal is a great option. Reservation might be needed during peak hours.
Response: Thank you for the great review, Da-Wang Wu! We're thrilled that you enjoyed your dining experience at Cuba Libre! We appreciate your praise for our decor and delicious dishes. The soup and empanadas were fantastic choices! Come back soon! Muchas gracias! -Matthew Fox General Manager, Cuba Libre Restaurant & Rum Bar Washington, DC

M: Good food.Service took a while but it's ok. Pandemic times calls for extra patience. Once we got a server, we ordered food, it came without a long wait. It was a nice end of day meal after a museum marathon on a Sunday.
Response: We appreciate your feedback, Madelaine. We are thriled that you enjoyed our great feedback, but we are disappointed to hear that our service failed to meet your expectations. We appreciate your understanding regarding the pandemic, and our service. Please reach out to info@cubalibrerestaurant.com so we can learn more about your experience. -Matthew Fox General Manager, Cuba Libre Restaurant & Rum Bar Washington, DC

Vikram Seshadri: Loved the music and the ambiance was very lively. Amazing vegetarian and Vegan options. Must try the Mojitos, Yuca fries and the Plantain chips.Had to call ahead and reserve a table and the restaurant was super busy on a weekday but was definitely worth it.
Response: We appreciate this detailed review, Vikram! We are delighted that you had a great time at Cuba Libre Washington DC and loved our music, vibrant ambiance, wide menu variety, and delicious meals. We are always seeking feedback, so we cannot thank you enough for letting us know how we are doing! Come see us again soon for another amazing experience! -Matthew Fox General Manager, Cuba Libre Restaurant & Rum Bar Washington, DC

Abby Fasehun: Loved the ambiance, felt like I was on the street of Havana. The Empanadas Was really good, forgot to take a photo of it, but overall, food was great. Customer service was top notch. Oh and the music!!! Got me moving the whole time. I’ll be back.
Response: We appreciate this glowing feedback, Bisola! Our team here at Cuba Libre Washington DC is delighted to hear that you loved our authentic Cuban ambiance, delicious food, amazing music, and phenomenal made-from-scratch dishes. This praise means the absolute world to us, and we hope to see you again soon for another excellent time! -Matthew Fox General Manager, Cuba Libre Restaurant & Rum Bar Washington, DC

Melinda Nguyen: Fantastic place for music, dancing, and drinks. The decor was beautiful and inviting. The space was open and the dance floor was fenced in which was a cool way to separate the space. It's busy and crowded on a Saturday night, but still had space to move around. Drinks were on point. The only downside was the lack of places to hang coats or bags. Coming during the winter, a lot of people struggled to put their things in a safe spot. Dancing with all the stuff is no fun. They should consider a coat check or something, especially in the winter. All in all, great music.. mix of Latin and pop throughout the night. I would definitely go back in the spring or summer.
Response: Thanks for the great review, Melinda! Cuba Libre is happy to hear about your experience! We're glad you enjoyed our ambiance, decor, and delicious drinks! We will make sure to discuss your comments regarding the lack of a coatroom with our staff moving forward. We're excited to welcome you back soon! -Matthew Fox General Manager, Cuba Libre Restaurant & Rum Bar Washington, DC

Kevin Russell: This is a long review, but please read to the end. Food is really good and the decor is great. On Friday and Saturday nights, not sure the time (I think around 10) the place basically turns into a salsa dance club. Really cool. Only reason it didn't get 5 stars from me this time was because our service was awful this trip. This is a follow up to that visit. The GM contacted me regarding the service. He took the time to address what happened and has generously offered to invite us back and make it right. This is the type of service restaurants should try to achieve. He takes pride in the customer experience and was very sincere. So I'm changing to 5 stars. I look forward to our next visit. As I said previously, the food is good, actually, great, and just a great place to have fun with your friends. I highly recommend this place. For a great app, try the empanadas. Really tasty. Oh, and I did forget to mention before, I'd suggest reservations on Friday and Saturday as a lot are there to enjoy the food and then dance the night away with some unique drinks they have! I'm confident our next visit will be amazing and I can't wait!!! I'll add photos of the dance floor and the food we choose this time around. We just had our evening here again after the service that was subpar before. This time, there was nothing subpar about our experience. We had a great table, our waiter was very attentive, fun, and made great suggestions for our friend that hadn't been there before. We had chicken and beef empanadas, and pineapple guacamole for apps. Was very good. Our dinner was very good. My friend and I had the plato gaucho mixed grill. My other friend had a neat and rice dish that I forgot to ask the name of. He's a chef at the White House, and he thought everything was excellent! The manager was aware of our previous experience and brought us desserts, and after dinner drinks that was a very nice touch, and we're also very good. The music was really good. The place really filled up with people to dance the night away on the dance floor that starts at 11 until 3 am. Everyone was having a great time. There was a pretty good sized line of people waiting outside to get in to enjoy the dancing. Really a perfect night out. Please go and support this restaurant. I highly doubt you will regret it. And if something isn't right, they will ensure to make it right. A big thank you to the GM, Matthew Fox, the manager Jessica, and our waiter!!!
Response: We sincerely apologize for the service challenges that you encountered, Kevin. We kindly ask that you contact us at info@cubalibrerestaurant.com for further discussion so that we can learn more. -Matthew Fox General Manager, Cuba Libre Restaurant & Rum Bar Washington, DC

Austin Graff: A friend of mine's favorite restaurant in the world is Cuba Libre in D.C.'s Chinatown. He loves the drinks, food, atmosphere and music. Having not visited in over a decade, we made a reservation for a Sunday dinner. Here's our experience: 1) Food: The menu is Cuban and has variety with appetizers, mains, desserts and a kid's menu. My Cuban sandwich and shrimp dish were flavorful and my five-year-old daughter even loved the food! 2) Drinks: They have a rum bar and three options for sangria that come by the glass or pitchers. My friend and I split the red sangria. It was strong, but not as sweet as other sangrias. 3) Atmosphere: They try to transport you to Cuba. The restaurant is spacious and even has outdoor seating during the winter. Salsa dancing happens at Ciba Libre too! 4) Service: It was easy to make an online reservation. However, when we dined in the service was average. Our server wasn't very attentive and not very friendly, which is fine since we all have off-days. But our food took a long time to come out. 5) Price: It's pricey, even for D.C. If the food was the best you've had, it would be better, but with good, but not phenomenal food, the prices felt off. This spot isn't a bad option, but I don't join my friend in titling it the best in the world.
Response: Thank you for your detailed feedback and kind words, Austin. We sincerely apologize for the time you waited and service you experienced. Please reach out to us directly at info@cubalibrerestaurant.com so we may further discuss. Thank you. -Matthew Fox General Manager, Cuba Libre Restaurant & Rum Bar Washington, DC

Michelle Edgar: We spent years in “little Cuba” in Hialeah FL, so we are pretty well versed in cuban food. This was stellar! Drinks were strong but flavorful. My husband and I got the mixed grill to share and it did not disappoint! If we come back to the dc area this will be our first stop!
Response: Muchas Gracias, Michelle! We are thrilled that our great food and delicious drinks exceeded your expectations. We look forward to hosting you again in the future for another great experience! -Matthew Fox General Manager, Cuba Libre Restaurant & Rum Bar Washington, DC

Greg Amiker: Beautiful layout (ambience feels like you're in a Cuban garden). The staff and managers were friendly and helpful. The seating is both indoors and outside. After 11pm on Weekends they turn part of the restaurant into a "Hot Cuban Club" with a nice setup of Mambo music, disco lights and DJ. Be aware that you're in downtown DC so expect pricey food and drinks, but the Mojito and other Cuban food is great!
Response: We appreciate your great review, Greg! Our team is so grateful that you took the time to let us know about your recent visit to Cuba Libre Washington DC! Your praise for our ambiance, attentive team, drinks, and made-from-scratch dishes is greatly valued! We hope to see you again soon for another outstanding experience. -Jessica Lopez General Manager, Cuba Libre Restaurant & Rum Bar Washington, DC

Julia's Empanadas: what do users think?

Allan Christopher Pin Drew: Cheap and cheerful shop with tasty empanadas. A few vegetarian options (thank you!) and pork/beef/chicken as well, including chorizo and some fun mixes.

Lou Costanza: Make sure you bring cash if you want to buy anything at this place. While they state they accept credit cards for purchases over $10, today was my second visit where they claim the credit card machine was down. Highly suspect… Anyway, the Chilean empanadas are very good here. I’d consider coming more often, but who carries cash these days? Solid 3 stars.

Adam Winstanley: Service was not so great! The person behind the counter was not very attentive. Even though the empanadas were good they were way over priced. $39 for six empanadas? Seriously? And I could not get a receipt because their “printer” was not working. The person behind the counter would not even separate the empanadas so I couldn’t tell which ones were which and I had to cut them open when I got home. Very inconvenient. I probably won’t be back here for a while.

Timothy David: Empanada heaven. We may have over done it with 7 BUT each empanada, hand rolled, is stuff with such unique ingredients that each one was amazing in its own way. Another great quick stop for a snack while venturing through DC.

Rose Croshier: A portable, delicious lunch for $6! Can’t beat it! Am wishing they’d get back to making salads though- Fresh greens would round out the meal.

Bill Robertson: Wow! Amazing empanadas! Tried 4 different flavors, and all were excellent: Saltena, Chilean, Turkey and Chorizo. The Saltena had green bell peppers which was not listed in the ingredients but did not overwhelm the flavor, which was excellent. The Chilean is the favorite empanada here, was recommended by the staff, and it did not disappoint. Not very spicy, but very flavorful, with a zest that will leave you wanting more. Cash only spot, but worth the trip to the ATM.

Stephen House: Very pretty looking pastries, but mostly empty and WAY overpriced. It was about 8pm. I got a pear almond pastry. There was almost no filling. Tasted kind of like almond extract but it was mostly dried up pastry dough. For $3 + tip, I was not impressed at all. I threw most of it away because I’m already fat and I don’t need to waste my daily calories on plain dough. Sorry, Julia. Maybe it was just an off day or something but I’ve had better empanadas at Taco Bell, for $1.

Scotty Leach: I smelled the place before I got there — you can smell the delicious scent of empanadas before you arrive. Once inside, the small shop draws you toward the empanadas lined up in their warming case, enticing you to get one (or more). I decided to get two for lunch, one Chilean (beef + veggies and spices) and one Salteña (curried chicken + olives, veggies, and egg). The Salteña was phenomenal. At $6 each, it’s slightly pricey, but worth it if you’re hungry and want something hand-made, tasty, and quick. The only thing I didn’t love was the $10 minimum for credit cards. That’s a pretty high minimum, and it means you have to get at least two empanadas if you didn’t bring a debit card or cash. The colorful art on the entrance is lovely and draws your eye, once you get close. Try Julia’s! Make sure to grab napkins :)

Sisi Koleva (siscenceto): Price: taste=4 starsI got guava and pear, almond and pear and one vegan one. All were tasty, but the guava one was especially good. My meat loving friends loved the Jamaican one and the spinach one

Hanna _: Go to spot in the dmv area for empanadas!! They are SO GOOD, especially the Jamaican and Chilean ones 🤤 There's a $10 minimum for credit cards but there is an atm inside the store (which is tiny) or you can just buy multiple empanadas (as u should) and FEAST They are also open very late on Saturdays and right near the dupont bars making it a great night out snack!

The Royal: what do users think?

Jennifer Trent: Absolutely beautiful covered patio, with heaters if needed, and fantastic service. Easy to order and pay through their QR code, and the food was the best we’ve had in a long time. The steak, gnocchi, and rockfish were all absolutely excellent!

Meia Harris: The highlight of The Royal is certainly the ambiance. I loved the plants and decor- even the dinnerware was nice. There is no table service- rather you place your order online. It was simple enough, and the food came out relatively fast. The guava pastry was yummy. I would suggest ordering this to share as this might be too sweet for some to eat by themselves (I at least found it too sweet to eat the whole thing). I tried the Autumn Spice Latte. I really appreciate the barista's beautiful latte art! The latte was quite sweet as well but not overly so. I would also like to mention that the latte came in what appeared to be a standard 8 oz mug and was over $7. This seems way overpriced for a drink that's 2/3 milk. For my main I had the Eggs and Potatoes. This is one of the few options on the brunch menu for my fellow vegetarians. When it came to my table I was tantalized by the appearance of the plate, but disappointment ensued. I found the whole plate to be under seasoned. I could not taste or see any salt or pepper on the eggs. The potatoes were crispy but were also lacking flavor in the salt and pepper department. There were a couple slices of toast on the plate but it was nothing special. Even though I absolutely adore the interior of this space, a restaurant's main determining factor on whether I return is the food. And based on that, the likelihood of returning for a second visit is quite low. I really wanted to love the food and give this place a higher rating but alas..

Kayla N: I ordered the seared fish and the gnocchi, which were both AMAZING. The flavors, ingredients, every bite I had was so delicious. However, the only downside was the gnocchi was oversalted in my opinion. The decor, plants and design were a nice touch to the overall vibe of this restaurant. 2 notes to keep in mind as of writing this review: 1) There is no table service - you place your order online and the food will be delivered to you. 2) You will need proof of vaccination and ID to dine in.

Tina N: We got the lox tartine, sausage egg & cheese sandwich, and egg & chorizo arepa. Good flavors all around. Will have to try their pastries next time!

Lauren G: This was my first time at The Royal. It was a nice experience. The staff was really nice, the food was delicious, and it looks like they are working hard to keep everyone safe during these covid times. The only challenge we experienced was when they tried to make it easy for people to split the bill electronically. We couldn’t really figure it out, but it all worked out. We all just paid for our own meals on our own phones. I had the Lox Tartine and we shared the Guava Pastry. Both were really good!

Aracely Hernandez: Absolutely best, authentic Colombian cuisine I’ve had in a very long time!! The customer service reflects the incredibly tasty menu - perfect combination for an amazing dining experience. It was my first visit - and a very memorable one. I’ll be coming a lot more to try the entire menu. I highly recommend Royal! I’m just so impressed and thankful to the staff who were amazingly attentive!

David Robinson: The only challenge we experienced was when they tried to make it easy for people to split the bill electronically. We couldn’t really figure it out, but it all worked out. We all just paid for our own meals on our own phones.

Fernanda Lanzagorta: Great food and great portions. I loved the casual ambiance and the kindness of the people working there. For a Michelin star restaurant the portions are perfect. I’ll definitely come back to try more of their food.

Michael Cork: Incredible ambiance and the food is delicious. Brussels sprouts are 🔥🔥🔥. Keeli makes the best cocktails in town

Hamdi Maher: Their egg arepa was a great breakfast dish! The sauce it came with was also great, perfect amount of spice.

Toro Toro: what do users think?

Gina S: Stopped in for Happy Hour and was impressed with the quality, freshness, taste and presentation of the menu items ordered. Don't expect larger portions, but expect a good experience. Annnnnd, the mojitos were amazing.

Wisteria McNeil: Really great music. However, they said it was Colombian night, but I heard more bad bunny than I did Joe Arroyo. Not much cumbia either. Still great music and a fun time. Drinks are expensive, but it's downtown DC

Dondré: Solid brunch spot. They do offer a bottomless brunch special. The food was really good. Our waiter was nice, this place gets packed for brunch, they do have lots of seating though. It's well decorated and gives off very chill vibes.

Pascal Johnstone: We went to Toro Toro after our plans for dinner at another restaurant fell through, and we could not have been more impressed! Our starter, the guacamole served with tuna tartare, was unexpectedly satisfying and proved a good prelude to the main meal consisting of salmon and the signature burger. Both were excellent, and the burger in particular was reasonably priced for a sizeable portion. The salmon was also delicious. After our meal, the manager offered us free dessert as well as coupons for two free drinks and an appetiser at our next visit. We will definitely be back the next time we visit DC!

Zerena Volcy: Service was a little slow at first but we came at a busy time however the food (unlimited brunch service) was very good. I would recommend it to my friends. The host Pandu provided excellent service to guest and ourselves he was taking responsibilities that were not in his host job description. He is great every restaurant needs his energy and attitude.

The Social Diplomat: Toro Toro is a good spot for Latin Night on a Friday night. The crowd is balanced, the drinks are good, the DJ's are on point. Get here early, because the dance floor get's packed. For guys not used to dancing Latin music, take a class or you will suffer rejection by not knowing how to dance. Go to Bachata Brunch at Public Bar live for 3 weeks of Sunday lessons to build up confidence. The girl to guy ratio is decent except from Dec.-Feb, the crowd slows down. For my reviews follow on IG: _The.Social.Diplomat

Chela Williams: I visited this establishment for winter restaurant week in 2016. When we arrived business was kind of slow. Our waiter was nice and accommodating. Very informative with explaining the dishes to me and my mother. I'm used to tapa style restaurants.....She isn't. The food was different but very good! She usually doesn't be venture out so if she likes it you know it was good. She even brought it up about two weeks ago asking about the name. I believe I was full when I left. It's expensive but the food it worth it.

Hilda Kroll: A good place for a reasonably priced lunch. The first time I ate here there was a fabulous buffet. The last time, the special was unlimited tapas. Now the $20 lunch special includes one antojito and one salad or sandwich. I chose the braised short rib arepa and the Cubano sandwich. Located a couple of blocks from the National Museum for Women in the Arts and close to Metro Center, it's worth a visit.

Ap Queen: 4-11-19 My Best Friend and I Met up for Lunch and checked out Toro Toro. We ordered the Appetizers of both Empanadas De choclo & De Lomo Saltado, and the Tempura Mahi Mahi Tacos. As The Main Dishes we ordered the Pan Seared Grilled Atlantic Salmon with Arroz Chaufa (Fried rice with steak, chicken, chorizo) and Chili-Lime & Cotija French Fries. Everything was so Pretty displayed while being sat carefully on the table definitely ate with our eyes and amazed even from far away you noticed the colors. The Flavors were all in a flavor haven of their own no seasoning at all was needed. Not too salty or under salted, listen honeyyyy!!! restaurants can definitely take cue from Toro Toro with having the just right amount of seasonings it was so balanced to perfection. The Salmon was so tender my best friend even questioned what she was doing wrong when she makes salmon at home because it was so moist but still crisp and flakey. While everything was great !! Those Mahi Mahi Tacos with the Chipotle-Paprika Aoli was to Die for you listening Foodie ppl. The fish was meaty, the crisp from the tempura was still crisp even after sitting for a little bit. The Chipotle-Paprika Aoli was EVERYTHING!!! just enough kick =) such a excellent choice. If I was dying and I had to choose a last meal just give me a huge plate of those!! And a cherry coke extra cherries and I'd die Happy as hell lol. My Waitress was awesome she made me a sprite mixed with lemonade then we joked about adding Vodka tho since she seen my card beforehand. She kept my glass refilled, constantly checking the table to make sure we were Good. Lastly for dessert we had the La Bomba experience SoOo cool to watch!! Churros with chocolate soOo super soft and tres le ches everything split up. It was my Best friends first time at Toro Toro and she really enjoyed it and the Food Options fit her no meat palette so I was glad she was able to experience The Toro Toro way!! Lol ... We even set a plan to get together 2 times a month so we definitely will be back!!! Especially Meeee for those Mahi Mahi Tacos!! on the way out I told the manager don't ever get rid of those tacos no matter what. So THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THE BEST EXPERIENCE.

Janay W: Cute place! Shout out to our server Edgar and bartender bae Matt at the bar! It was super busy as we went for Saturday brunch but the service and food was great! The drinks were amazing!! Bathrooms were cute and clean. The only meh experience was a very tall employee who dismissed me when I asked him to take a picture... Despite that Edgar was super attentive and supportive as was Matt and the other wait staff. Will visit again for sure!

Barcelona Wine Bar: what do users think?

Ling Qin: Our experience last night was exceptional. The food was delicious and the service and staff were excellent. We liked the informal but and very friendly atmosphere. Noticing that I left my phone at the table after we walked out the restaurant, the general manager Mario Pena immediately ran to us to hand me the phone for which I am very grateful. This is rare gem among the restaurants in the DC area.

Sheryl Winarick: Outside patio last night was perfect for celebrating our best friend’s birthday. The food, as always, was amazing… and it’s been a long time since I felt compelled to compliment a restaurant’s service! Our waitress Mary was like a breath of fresh air. She was kind, helpful and attentive, but she never made us feel rushed… and she gave the best wine recommendations. Thanks Barcelona and Mary for making the night so special!

David Coy: This is the second location I have been to and I am happy to say that both locations do not at all disappoint and set a high bar for a dining experience. Always excellent wine selection and incredible tapas! The chorizo and fig in balsamic vinaigrette is my favorite out of dozens of things I have tried

Ieshia E. Butler: The tapas at Barcelona were all very tasty! The wait staff were also extremely friendly and engaging. Definitely will visit again!

Mehmet Esen: Good tapas & wine bar with a warm atmosphere. The place was packed and the service was quite good. The jamon and the cheese were delicious but not so much the chorizo. The mussels, steak with mini fries, and flan were tasty while we were not thrilled with the mushroom dish. Patatos were a little dry and the eggplant dish was ok. The water smelt chlorine. Overall, we had a 4.5 star experience.

Tan Sav: I think i prefer this location. All the same trappings but more low-key. It definitely has a more welcoming neighborhood feel.

Annya Rangel: I had heard of this place and I can say that it is a great place to eat tapas and have a good time. The service is good, the drinks too, and the tapas are exquisite. The cost seems acceptable to me.

M planetmike: Delicious and lively. Service at the bar is preferred. Wonderful to have a Spanish centered restaurant in this neighborhood. We arrived on an late afternoon, around 5:30PM. There were plenty of tables at the time. Most everything was delicious from the spicy clams, broccolini, and zucchini. Must try is the squid pasta cooked in a paella style.

Katherine Figueroa-Silva: As always, pleasant dining experience. Our server, Lady, was very efficient at meeting our expectations. She was knowledgeable enough of new menu items to explain them to us. Always on cue for whatever we needed on the spot. We were celebrating my daughter's birthday and she had stored our cake until dessert time and took the trouble of bringing it out and sing happy birthday with another server. Only complaint/recommendation would be on the tight spacing between tables and servers layover space. They need some extra space in order to work more efficiently.

Eric Reid: This was our first night in DC after just moving, and WOW! The location is fantastic, with the interior dimly lit for a good date. The service was excellent, top class, especially Mario the manager of the night. The food was fantastic including the charcuterie board and the wine from the adios vino list (half price). Tapas were well prices and delicious. Now living near the cathedral, you can expect us back!

dLeña: what do users think?

D “Mase” Mason: Been wanting to eat here since it opened last May. We lucked out and were able to get a table. The service, atmosphere, food and drinks were amazing!! The tequila flights were great as well as the selection of tequilas. We had the crab cake tostada's, prawns and the short rib tacos. Our server Begin (hope that's right) was phenomenal. He was familiar with the menu and drink selections. Thanks again and highly recommend eating here. Also, there's live music downstairs but get there early to secure a seat because it gets crowded.
Response: Hi D “Mase”! Thank you for sharing your feedback with us. We're always happy when our guests have an amazing time with us. Our servers are always striving to give an exceptional experience so we're excited that your server Bergin made it extra special!

john Dickerson: Great Mexican fine dinning I've been to on this side of the Mississippi, the decor are extremely beautiful, but the wait staff had very low energy other than that the food was very delightful an satisfying. The table was served guacamole and chips, for starters I had the ceviche and she had the pork belly. For the main I had the fish and a side of baked potato and she had the shrimp and crab enchilada. For dessert she had this layer cake treat which I recommend everyone needs to try.
Response: Hello John, thank you for sharing with us! We're proud of the quality of our food and want all of our customers to enjoy it as much as you do! We put a lot of thought and care into serving up innovative, fresh, savory, authentic Mexican cuisine, exceptional service and beautiful surroundings. We are grateful for your feedback and look forward to your next visit at dLeña !

Luisa Offori: Run, do not walk to this establishment. Ask for Troy. When I tell y’all this brunch was RESTORATIVE. Brought me back to LIFE. Excellent food. Excellent service. Troy was fantastic and not only kept the drinks coming, but made sure the food arrived in a timely manner. Highlights were the birria tacos, chicken and waffles, enfrijoladas, and the surprising guest star was the fruit cocktail. Order everything on the menu, you will not be disappointed.
Response: Hi Luisa! Wow, thank you for the 5 star review! We take great pride in everything we do here at dLeña and we're so delighted to hear our tacos, chicken and waffles, enfrijoladas were fantastic! Our team is so happy Troy and was able to bring you back to life with such an excellent experience!

Gabriela Frank: Really good brunch deal they had for black Friday. I'm not sure if it's something they generally offer but really glad we went! Great service, it wasn't very busy and we got seated right away. Overall, the food was good, though nothing so good that I'm dying to go back. Would definitely recommend if they normally do a bottomless brunch option as it's really good value for all the food and booze you get!
Response: Hi Gabriela - Thank you so much for taking the time to leave us a review. We hope to welcome you back for dinner at dLeña next time! Wishing you a wonderful holiday season.

Stephanie: Came for mother's day brunch and had an amazing time!! From the decor to the service and everything in between it was an absolute pleasure. I can't wait to come for dinner as well as the bar! We chose the bottomless food option for $35. And started with some a la carte drinks - I went with the margarita, my sister the bloody Maria, and my dad with the mango mimosa. Everything was soooo good, I had so many regrets about not choosing the bottomless food and drink -next time! Our server was great! He suggested to try each item first before choosing which ones to try after and then end with dessert (churros). It was the best idea and I was so full by the time we got to the end of the list. We did end up getting an extra serving of the salmon and beef tacos before having dessert. I loved every moment of this experience and can't wait to come back!
Response: Wow! Stephanie, we're so grateful to hear you enjoyed your time at dLeña. We try our best to make sure that we're not only providing an exceptional experience, but also a memorable one. Looks like we hit the mark with your recent visit with family. Looking forward to serving you again soon!

Jahaan Thomas: Went to brunch with my friends yesterday and had the BEST time!! We enjoyed the bottomless brunch option. It was all of our first time dining there and from the moment we stepped through the door until the time we left, we felt very welcomed! Our server Jeff was the absolute greatest!! He explained everything really well, kept our glasses full and made sure to give us updates if and when something was taking too long to come out. Out of all of the food options: the birria tacos, tuna ceviche, salmon, and churros were my fave!! I can’t wait to come back and hopefully dine in with Jeff for dinner soon :) love the decor as well!!
Response: Hi Jahaan! Thank you for sharing your feedback on your recent visit with us! Our bottomless brunch is truly a favorite, fun experience for all of our guests. We take the quality of our food very seriously, and our team wants to show off the care, passion and expertise that goes into every dish you sampled! Thank you for the shout out for your server,Jeff!

byron subero: Very nice dining which everything is flavorful. They have a Tomahawk steak that they cook to your liking right infront of you..... very cool. There's also a bar downstairs that they sometimes have a band come through. Drinks was delicious.
Response: Hello Byron! We're so grateful to hear you enjoyed your time at dLeña. We're delighted to hear you truly enjoyed your delicious menu selections! Looks like we hit the mark with your recent visit. We agree ~ our tomahawk steak is an exquisite experience!

Joel Mann: Can I say wonderfully amazing Sunday brunch! Service stellar, food delicious 10x over, cocktails were on point, Adrian killed the cocktail pictured! The whole experience was a vibe! I totally recommend you check this place out!
Response: Wow! We're so grateful to hear you enjoyed your time at dLeña. Looks like we hit the mark with your recent visit. We try our best to make sure that we're not only providing an exceptional experience, but also a memorable one. Thank you for the shout out for Adrian, we'll be sure to pass it on! Looking forward to serving you again soon!

Priya Yadav: Loved this meal and restaurant so much!! The inside and atmosphere are so cozy and beautiful. The margaritas are so fresh and delicious, highly recommend trying the Tamarindo! The food was DELICIOUS 🤤 Would eat there again in a heartbeat!!
Response: Hello Priya! We are incredibly grateful that you loved everything about our amazing restaurant and took the time out to leave us this fabulous feedback. We're truly committed to delivering exceptional service and exquisite cuisine. Everything we do is with you in mind. We can't wait to have you back again soon!

Bob Lloyd: The atmosphere here is great. One word of caution, if you go by yourself, you have to sit at the bar. The bartenders were awesome though, but was initially disappointed that my only option was the bar. The food and drinks are fantastic! I would highly recommend everything I had. My order included a prickly pear margarita, pork belly app, short rib tacos, atun (tuna) tacos, pastel de elite, as well as a tasting flight of anejo tequila. Portions are a bit small, but presentation and taste are spot on.
Response: Hello Bob! Thank you for your feedback~ it's spot on! We are so happy to hear that you enjoyed your experience at dLeña. The pork belly app, short rib tacos, atun (tuna) tacos, are some of our most popular dishes. Thank you again for dining with us!

China Chilcano by José Andrés: what do users think?

Mohit Mehtaji: Great place for some good fusion food. Service is pretty quick and recommend you get a reservation as it does get pretty full during peak dinner hours. You can’t go wrong with the Pisco Sour here. The dim sum were good but nothing special and possible good for trying it one time. The noodles were great and if you get a side of the house made hot sauce it adds a bit more flavor.

Brandon Feldman: This is an incredibly unique spot! The location is great for only being a few blocks from the national mall, the ambiance was relaxing, and the food was amazingly delicious. A Peruvian/Chinese/Japanese restaurant is a unique combination and a brand new experience. The flavors were absolutely fantastic, the presentation was on point, and the service was top-notch. And to top it all off, it is very reasonably priced for such high quality.5 stars all around!

Andy Zavala: I was looking for a nice romantic date night and China Chilcano fit the spot just right. I first called them to check if they had seating/reservations for later the same day and they were super helpful and I booked a time no problem. The restaurant is in the heart of DC so parking may be difficult but the food and service is worth it. The restaurant fuses peruvian dishes with Asian mixes which was so delicious. We tried the classic ceviche and a few other dishes that I unfortunately forgot what are called at this point, but I don’t think you can really go wrong with anything here. They do have a priced option kind of like a “buffet” for around $60 and you get to try as many dishes as you want. So if you really want to explore the dishes here, I’d recommend that! You’ll at least be eating 2-3 dishes. Will definitely come back again.

MrIrali: One of the best restaurants in DC, and that says a lot. We ordered the chef’s selection, and we were not disappointed. Head chef Will Fung even came out and spoke with our table and really left an impression on us. The food is a blend of Peruvian food and Chinese/Japanese. And it is incredible. Go here.

Shachar Ashkenazi: The atmosphere is great, everything we ordered was extremely delicious - both the food and the drinks were great. The stuff were friendly and the decoration of this place is stunning! The flavors combination is unique, it is a must visit restaurant!

Kayla F: Words cannot express how delicious every step of this meal was. We tried a little bit of a few different items and each bite was full of flavor. I highly recommend ordering across the menu and sharing lots of plates.

Anca Balinisteanu: Great location but insane drive if you come from outside DC….interesting menu, but you need a dictionary 🙂 We ordered pork belly sanguche de chsncho and dim sum for starters. Very good! On to the main dishes: rice noodles and pacific wild shrimp. All delicious. And very interesting taste combinations of flavors. We’ll try to make it a regular stop!

Max Rosen: Immaculate menu of diverse food choices that will take your palate around the world from Peru, to China, to Japan. I ordered the chicken stir fry which was delish - great portion, beautiful presentation, even better taste. The shishito peppers are a must for larger parties, well seasoned and crunchy. Ambiance is inviting and the dining room is well decorated and museum-like. Hector, our waiter and bartender, couldn’t have been nicer and accommodated food allergies with care. A must try!

Sabrina R Robinson: Every dish was delicious, wish I’d gotten good pics of everything so I could share how wonderful it was but we ate it so fast! Shishito peppers 🌶 were a good appetizer. Nice snack and super fun bc every few bites you’d get a spicy one. Called the roulette pepper for that reason! The big eye tuna ceviche was delicious. The hamachi ceviche was absolutely our favorite -buttery and citrusy- I could eat it every day. Drinks were classic w a twist. The entree portions were fair ( large in my opinion, in a good way) especially after having all those appetizers. Fun bright flavors in some, and comfort food vibes in others. The restaurant was so beautiful and cozy in the daylight. Staff was super friendly and SO attentive. When it got dark out (with the lack of natural light) the neon ceiling decor made the entire place super yellow and dim- it was definitely an interesting vibe and I wish I could’ve seen the beautiful colors of my food. Can’t wait to go again !

Adriana Rakshana: Excellent quality and unique flavors. Definitely try out the suspiro limeña for dessert and the ceviche pulpo. The vibe of the place is nice too; great for a date! We didn't need a reservation for lunch on a Saturday just fyi!

Julia's Empanadas: what do users think?

Alejandra Becerra: This type of empanadas is not similar at Argentina, colombian, or Venezuelan empanadas; they are more big like 2 in 1, haha, and they have a lot of types and flavors, a good experience though.

Ballard Huey: Taste: 4/5. In my professional empanada experience, the style and makeup of empanadas vary widely. I only purchased 1 empanada (a salteña) as a snack and, while it was very large and the dough was very good, I thought the inside to be a little lackluster. That being said, there were other flavors that sounded delicious, so I may have just had an unlucky pick. Service: 5/5. The woman who was running the place was very kind and friendly. She gave me some good recommendations of which flavor I should pick based on her favorites. Definitely a home-style feel. Vibe: 4/5. The restaurant is located right in the Adams-Morgan neighborhood next to a bunch of other cool places. That being said, I wish Julia’s had a bit more life to it. Cost: 5/5. $3 empanadas the size of your hand. Enough said. Julia’s has a banner above its door that reads “We don’t change often. We got it right the first time.” which I think holds true. A nice spot, especially if one is looking for a quick, cheap bite.

Ryan McGorty: Julia’s Empanadas focuses on empanadas and offers a wide selection of fresh offerings. Their focus on empanadas is used more broadly, so you’ll find Jamaican beef patties, Italian calzones, and Israeli bourekas inspired options on the menu. They make them fresh by hand every day and rarely run out of any types. There are two locations now – one south of Dupont Circle, and the original one in Adams Morgan. The original location in Adams Morgan is tiny and plain, but that doesn’t matter – you’re coming here to grab an empanada to go, not to sit and enjoy the ambiance of the restaurant. They offer savory and sweet empanadas. I would recommend sticking to the savory, more traditional empanadas. The Chilean style and Saltenas empanadas are among the best options on their menus. I wouldn’t recommend getting a sweet, dessert empanada – they taste like the cheap mini store-made pies you find at the grocery store. They also offer combo deals – the Healthy Meal Deal is the best value (empanada, soup, and salad) for $8.55. Their menu prices are very reasonable, especially given the DC area. If you’re nearby and want something hot, savory, delicious, and fast, Julia’s Empanadas is a great option.

Ross No.: Not your standard Columbian/Argentinian empanada. More like an empanada with an Italian twist. I will stop by here on all my DC trips. Delicious! Sweet and savory options available...a great experience.

Francisco Lavorre: For the culturally-ignorant, empanadas are fancy hot pockets--or crunchy dumplings. For those more diverse in taste, Julia's dough and baked-style is reminiscent of Jamaican patties, while the filling choices definitely represent the Central and South American influences. Don't let the--questionable presentation--deter you; behind the faded paint and dim lights is a truly delicious treat. What seems at first to be the grime of neglect is in reality a stubborn grip on tradition and the belief that "if it ain't broke, don't fix it." And in the same way that Christmas or marriage are traditions, what they look like and what they really are can vary drastically. Luckily, in this case the appearance is in your favor: Abuela's food is best, after all. I promise you won't regret trying these empanadas. They're freaking delicious, not overseasoned, and surprisingly not greasy at all.

Matthew Gehrlein: Empanadas were piping hot and very delicious. I had chorizo and Chilean beef which were both good. They are quite big so two is enough for a meal. There are only a few seats inside so expect to pick up your order then eat them elsewhere

G S: Julia’s in Connecticut Ave. is much better than this location. Here they make the empanadas different, the quality is not the same.

Shawn McCarthy: Don't go here unless you like bugs in your food. The place looks suspicious when you walk in and it seems the dirty lobby carries back to a dirty kitchen.

Mary: The empanadas are excellent. They have dessert empanadas as well. Bring cash just in case.

Lin Brann: Ever since I discovered this empanadas shop, I had to get a big order to bring home when I am in DC. They have a large variety to choose from and they all are very delicious. The empanadas are much bigger than elsewhere. I love this place!

Barcelona Wine Bar: what do users think?

Eva Milstein-Touesnard: This food was SO good and the bread is house made fresh and complimentary! 😉 so you know we got LOTS of bread. Also, the price wasn’t too bad for dine in! The wine was also really good. And such an amazing vibe inside and outside. Overall loved it!

Nik Rama: Barcelona is always an amazing chain of restaurants to get high quality drinks and tapas. The four of us were quickly seated and ordered several tapas and drinks. The tapas were incredible (I forgot to take photos and only got one…). Empanadas were super tender and savory on the outside while encased in a crispy exterior. The other crispy fried appetizers with with cheese and meats were unique and delicious in their own ways. The view of the street from this restaurant is also great. You can watch the bustle of the city go by while enjoying the cool and shaded seating of this restaurant. The only reason for the 4 stars is because it’s a zoo here. So many people trying to come eat here leads to long lines and people loitering outside. Make sure to come during a non-peak hour to enjoy this experience itself!

Анжела Четина (Сексолог и психолог): Visited Washington from DC for two days and I am happy o could come to this cozy restaurant. In December I could eat outside thanks to heaters which is amazing, food is good quality, big variety of choices. Amazing ambiance, small piece of Spain 🇪🇸 tasty, stuff is friendly and smiling, wine is also high quality with an incredible smell. Highly recommend that place !

Erick Vivas: The food is very good! The place is beautiful but too loud! I was very happy with the tapas. All of them simply delicious.

Jay Law: Although we got seated immediately, on a Saturday nonetheless, service was slow. Now, that doesn’t take away from quality of the food but it’s definitely hinders your experience some. Which the said, the tapas style menu items are perfect for someone who like to taste and try different foods. The drinks were great and vibe was on point.. plus, it’s patio is great for afternoon eating and people watching in DC.

Alex Gonzalez: Amazing atmosphere and the Sangria is by far the best we have had. For food we had the charcuterie and the meats and cheese we had were absolutely amazing. It seems to us that they have very fresh ingredients. The staff was very friendly and service was top notch. It’s worth checking out if you live here or are from out of town and want an enjoyable dining experience. We highly recommend it. Edit 1. I forgot to talk about the bread. The freshest bread I have had at any restaurant.

Mica Ann: I’ve tried Barcelona Wine Bar when vacationing in Denver and our experience was rather intimate. It was definitely a shock for me to not only have an extremely crowded bar but also too loud of a music you cannot even hear yourself giving the order. Server recommended two to three tapas per person which is about right. We ordered ten tapas and the only ones I remembered are: patatas bravas, shishito peppers, boquerones (sardines), mussels, ham croquettes, shrimp in garlic, and half paella seafood. We just came back from Spain two weeks ago and all of the tapas we ordered are very much comparable in taste, quality, serving size, and price. So I am very happy about that. The place is extremely packed when we came in at 10:15pm with a reservation. The service is rather slow. I think our waiter has way too many tables for him to handle. The manager actually served our first round of tapas and got our order drinks. I was very impressed that he remembered our drinks without writing them. Got me a little bit worried that he got them right because it took a very looong time before our drinks came. But hey, he got them 100% right! Five stars for the really great tapas and good but not great paella. Five stars also for the cocktails and wines we ordered. I’m normally empathetic coz the world is short-staffed. But I think since this is a franchise, they had a choice not too accept too many customers or to hire more help and whatever their choice was, it was not displayed right the night we visited. Less one star for the awful service. This is a wine bar, not a nightclub. Less another star for the too loud music. Make sure you make a reservation especially on weekends and holidays.
Response: Hello, my name is Emily and I am the general manager at the Barcelona wine bar on 14th st. Thank you for taking the time to give us feedback on your dining experience. I would love to chat with you more, at your convenience. My email is ekunda@barcelonawinebar.com- please let me know when you are available to connect. Thanks again- Emily

Rebecca Kert: Virtually everything was a 10/10. The server had super helpful recommendations. The drinks were creative and delicious— especially the guns and rose and bourbon spice. All the tapas we ordered was delicious and the bread was wonderful. Fun atmosphere but still family friendly.

Ivy Chan: You’re paying for the environment. Pricey dishes. I went for brunch and their tapas dishes are small and overpriced. Taste was good but not worth the price. The braised pork was barely 2 pieces and cost $9. Lots of alcoholic drinks to choose from.
Response: Hi Ivy, My name is Danielle Miranda and I am the Assistant General Manager at Barcelona Wine Bar. I am so sorry that you did not enjoy your dining experience. I would like the chance to talk to you and hear more of your feedback. My email is dmiranda@barcelonawinebar.com and I hope to hear from you soon. Regards, Danielle

Miguel Curiel: Popular place with delicious food and drinks. This may not be the best place to have a deep and intimate conversation, but it is a great pick if you’re searching for a youthful ambiance, party-like vibes and some good Spanish meals + wine! Due to its popularity, it is strongly advised to reserve beforehand (tried to walk in once, estimated waiting period was 45 minutes which actually ended up being 2 hours i.e. it is VERY popular and entails lengthy stays).

El Chucho - Cocina Superior: what do users think?

Khala Grace: Finding a new place to eat is always an adventure in itself. For a late dinner, we chance upon El Chucho. One cannot go wrong with Mexican cuisine. The menu may be short, but the food is good. I enjoyed a fresh vegetarian burrito with cooked mushrooms and peppers. Although the table ordered a side of rice and beans, I was well satiated with the burrito alone. My sisters ordered different taco dishes: one with seasoned chicken and the other a seared Mahi Mahi. The tacos come in a set of two. Although the shells are petite, the tacos are layered well with fresh ingredients. EL Chucho has a long list of alcoholic concoctions. Additionally, they feature homemade soda ranging from tropical flavors to mixes with spicy pepper notes. Overall, the restaurant is pleasant to try. They have plenty of outdoor seating.

Ben Multak: Come in here for a drink (or as many as you can handle) but also stay here for the food. Awesome tequila and mezcal served by friendly and knowledgeable bartenders. What more could you ask for. Haven’t had a bad thing on the menu and the food is usually very quick. Fun neighborhood spot that is now also open late night.

Joanna Selkridge: The flavours were ok. Tacos are small but filling. Too much is going on so you lose the taste of the meat it's all condiments and salsas. Churros are ok a little too soft for my liking.

Mark Bender: Just got to DC and decided we want Mexican fare. Looked at the google reviews and listing and found this great hole-in-the -wall. What a fantastic place! They have street side seating so we can enjoy the warm weather. And the food was the best I think I ever had. I ordered the dinner feature tacos Birria Quesa tacos and they were fantastic. The flavors and the portion, there were two big stuffed tacos. The guacamole was outstanding. I don’t like extra spice and all of the food I chose was packed with flavor. You will love this place.

C Polanco: Authentic Mexican food in DC - what a treat. Great prices; great drink selection and the staff are truly friendly. Thanks for the recommendation Lonely Planet !!
Response: Yay!

Isaiah Sarju: Good happy hour deals and an OK mezcal selection. Really good open air flow when the front is open. I like that the window acts as bar seating while getting that hybrid indoor/outdoor vibe.

Lindsay Simon: Absolutely amazing dinner. I haven't had tacos this good since being in non-touristy parts of Mexico. Also haven't found anything close to this phenomenal, and authentic, in the DMV! The fish tacos used very fresh, and large amounts, of salmon and the shrimp tacos were to die for. Note that I did sauce on the side to control the heat but both were so flavorful and medium that I ended up using both up. We also had Mezcal and Tequila flights and the selections for each were solid. Definitely recommend happy hour or post-bar (3-4am) ordering, 5he menus for each look solid.
Response: Thank you! We're so delighted you had a great time with us

Gwenaëlle Dufour: Definitely not my favorite Mexican restaurant. But they have fast service, ok food, great bartending and I love their micheladas!

Eimeel Castillo: We ordered a delivery of tacos al pastor and burrito al pastor. Instead of roasted pork shoulders with pineapple we received a soggy ground beef taco. This is a scam and a terrible offense to Mexican food. Never ordering from them.

Jennifer Schaffer: I've been going here since 2016 and LOVE this place. The drinks are always exceptional and their tacos have really gotten good. These are probably my favorite tacos in DC now! They may be small, but very well filled and very filling. I've tried all their tacos and honestly couldn't pick just one as my favorite. Highly recommend!

Alero Restaurant: what do users think?

A L: Came for a late night drink and wasn't denied. Not only that, felt at home and the service was fair. Great, but when I say fair, I was treated like a patron and not a dollar. Thanks to Pablo for serving a great drink and I told him to give me what he thought was the best margarita in the house... had the nerve to serve me freaking Topaz!!! But it was AWESOME! THANKS FOR A GREAT EXPERIENCE 🙂

Dena Jackson: The food came out very quickly, but once the restaurant got busier we saw our server less and less. It took about 30mins to get someone to bring our check to the table. The food was decent at best and the drinks we okay. Overall It's a good inexpensive place for a quick happy hour.

Joshua Dyer: Dope spot to have some frozen margaritas and tasty Mexican food. Right on the popular U street in DC, where you can find the next spot after eating. The prices are pretty good, you won’t feel like you broke the bank. The staff and bartenders were friendly and attentive.

Destinee Douglas: The place is really welcoming and festive ! We liked the lay out and the restaurant is extremely big! Our food came out in an ok time but it wasn’t that hot or sizzling how a skillet is supposed to . & I feel they’re a bit over priced for the amount of food they give . Our waiter wasn’t the best. He often forget to bring back a few things we wanted . But the food was ok. I would still recommend. I just think we need to go back and try again.

Destiny Bell: This is the most driest, nastiest food I’ve ever had. No type of seasoning the potatoes were obviously old. They reheated it and it’s 🤮. Only good thing is the alcoholic drinks. Never again

Christian Strickland: came from NY on a weekend lil vacation. been here twice already. AWESOME!!! Great drinks taste great reasonable priced and do the job. Every staff member is so attentive provides A1 service. This is deff my go to spot while im in DC.

Jennifer Lara: Came to Alero on U St. to celebrate our daughter’s birthday. It was all around a great evening. First, the atmosphere and vibe is vibrant and fun. Also, the service was fantastic. Our server, Alvero, was friendly and attentive. Our food came quickly. Finally, the food was good and margaritas were tasty as well. Definitely will go back.

Pursuit Color: Ambience was great, and I loved the Frieda Kahlo art on the wall. The drinks were amazing, but when it came down to the food, a rating of 6/10 will do. The ceviche was was too tart that it was rendered inedible. I love ceviche and was so disappointed that this fell short of expectation. I am willing to go back and give it one more try.

Roger Brittingham: So this was a plan B for us. We were supposed to eat at Tico D.C. Mexican Restaurant. Ambience was festive, food was fresh and very hot. Our waiter was attentive. Other patrons around us were very loud and obnoxious. Maybe not for kids, there's a chance that you might sit at our table top which had a painting of a topless maiden bearing her nipples. Over all, price was $$.

Romeo Williams: Nice spot, nice vibes.. gave it two stars because the service was not great and it was complaints about our food.. btw, I went on taco Tuesday but it wasn’t very busy.. my food was good!! My homegirl didn’t like her tacos (chicken tacos, soft shell), she said they were disgusting.. my other homegirl got tacos (shrimp tacos, hard shell) and she said they were great.. my homeboy said his salmon was fire but it was 4 mins over cooked (he’s a chef).

La Cosecha: what do users think?

Millie Kwan: This is a great space for Latinx businesses such as home goods boutiques, wine/wine bar and gourmet grocery, food stands and restaurants. There is an upstairs lounge as well as outdoor seating. Even the indoor space is a large open space and it is not crowded like Union Market making it easier to navigate during the pandemic. Would have liked to try more than one of the food stands, but well go back again. Beautiful space and do highly recommend.

Hector Mejia: Is impressive the change in this area " florida ave ' everything is clean soooo " la cosecha " is a restaurant in the new Florida ave dc i was there is beautiful place for sharing time with family you can find Japanese,Mexican.,peruvian And more class of food really impressed with this place !! Also you can buy things for your home too I recommend 100%!!

Tania Abraham: What an amazing experience, space and open market/food court. La Cosecha is the perfect space for doing some window shopping, actual shopping, grab a drink, and/or grab a meal. I was genuinely spoiled for choice with all the great options… So I sampled a bit of everything from the various restaurants! Nothing was a disappointment & I ended it with a Cafe Con Leche Paleta from Jarabe Gourmet Pops!!!

Nate B: This is a nice place. There are several good places to get food or drinks. It is very clean and people are friendly. I would definitely recommend this place.

John Huegel: La Cosecha is an urban destination and attracts a lot of young adults as well as some older folks like me. A dozen or so proprietors sell trendy food and drink and a few other things. My wife and I were attracted by the Argentine Tango group that holds an introduction to Tango lesson and a Practica on the loft level for experienced dancers on the fourth Sunday of each month. A great place to dance on a Sunday afternoon. We travelled there from Delaware just for that.

Daisy Gutierrez: The new drinks inspired by Selena songs are amazing!

KIMBERLY THOMAS: Always a great time and great food! Definitely recommend. The food and drinks are perfect. The service is even better. Ask for Maria! She’ll take good care of you!

Laura Garnett: This is my favorite market in the whole of DC. You can find the best Latin American food, wine, and artisan shops. I purchased this new ear cuff here, made by indigenous women in Colombia. We need more of these personal, diverse, and authentic cultural venues, especially in the "click-and-buy" world we live in.

K A: I found this hidden gem in D.C and I couldn’t help but check it out and I didn’t regret it. It’s filled with so much culture and art along side nice restaurants, a wine shop, a coffee shop(Unido) to mention a few. I particularly loved checking Nova Bossa out. Such a beautiful shop with quality items. First time here and I would definitely revisit to try out some great delicacies. I highly recommend this contemporary market to all art and food lovers and also it’s a must visit to all locals and tourists. Good Service✅ Courteous Staff✅ Lovely Ambiance ✅ Parking Garage ✅ ♿️Wheelchair Accessible Entrance✅ ♿️Wheelchair Accessible Restroom✅ 🚻Restroom

Paul Wright: Went back and discovered Destino, a Mexican restaurant. It's AMAZING!!! Service is fantastic, food was en point and atmosphere was both elegant and charming. Love this location!

Alero Restaurant: what do users think?

Rebecca Jackson: The taco "salad" was ok but I won't be ordering it again. My friend had the chicken tamales which were very good. Update:5/01/2022 My friend and I came back again today. The food was once again good, but the service today was horrible. Wrong food,, missing items, and our server was no where to be found when we needed additional items. Also, bot very friendly until time for the check. I'm guessing he wanted a tip for his bad service

Miguel Curiel: Picturesque place, decent food, excellent brunch deal. Went in one Saturday and the place offered a magnificent brunch deal: $26 per person for one hour of sitting, bottomless drinks and one meal. We actually ended up spending 4 hours rather than one with no extra fee thanks to our kind waiter. Bottomless drinks were great, especially the michelada which is an authentic beer-based Mexican drink. Only con of Alero would be the food because servings were good (i.e, big) but the taste was average. Lastly, place’s decoration is accurate to the source material so a Mexican vibe is indeed ensued!

Nu S: No frills Mexican eatery! The tacos conchinita are different than listed in the menu so this is why I gave 4 out of 5 stars. The tacos Al pastor were very good and a perfect combination of pineapple and carne. The price is very reasonable for DC! Basic dishes and quick service.

Scott Cornelius: GREAT tacos al pastor, and good margaritas! The vibe is very casual classic Mexican restaurant.

Margaret Lima: We went there with my kids and my mom. We ordered and the food came really fast and the waitress was nice and the lady that brought the drinks was friendly and nice, she even took a picture for us. The food was delicious, great flavor! Price was a little high but it was worth it. I will definitely go back.

Kayode Yussuf: We visited for lunch around Halloween and it is obvious that the Mexicans do not joke with their culture. Food was nice, restaurant was not crowded so we were able to enjoy our meals

Eric Sobczynski: Was in DC with the family and wanted something in walking distance of the hotel. It was a hot day in April and they didn't have the AC running. They have a limited kids menu. I like spicy, but the dish I ordered didn't indicate it was spicy. With the lack of AC, I was really sweating. They also included the gratuity which I wasn't expecting for 4 adults and 2 kids (not sure if this is a common practice in DC area restaurants). If you are a tourist in DC looking for Mexican, avoid this place.

Chris Chavez: This is not too bad of a Mexican restaurant. I had the chicken enchiladas covered with mole sauce. The rice and beans were good, the enchiladas were a little cold, but had a good flavor. The drinks were cold and the waiters were awesome. The queso was really good, I would definitely recommend, and would go again.

M.: WONDERFUL service here. So friendly and accommodating. This place has the best vibes in D.C. Go for a nice and lowkey dinner out. Good food, especially the chips and salsa. It was my first time eating here and it was a great first impression.

Claudia Luna: Our new favorite Mexican restaurant! The vibes were so colorful and happy and the staff were very nice and helpful. They have my new favorite salsa and guac in the area and we really enjoyed the tacos and fajitas! Huge plus that the chips and salsa were free!

Taberna del Alabardero: what do users think?

Queli: After being disappointed with DC food, we ran into this gem. Not only was food incredibly delicious, the presentation was amazing and portions were great, and the service was phenomenal. Shoutout to Edgar for bringing me a real spicy spice to accompany my delicious food. He understood what Mexicans need :) Thank you to all the Taberna team for being amazing ! PS- I recommend paella and, sausage and blood sausage tapas !
Response: Hi Queli, We're glad you enjoyed your experience with us! we hope to see you again at Taberna del Alabardero! Don't forget we have live flamenco performance every friday and saturday!

Eduardo Sevilla: Old school D.C. restaurant, classic service and ambiance serving fine Spanish cuisine that no longer overwhelms you but will satisfy your Iberian peninsula cravings. Tapas for dinner is the way to go, variety and well executed, albeit small portions. Outstanding wine list, only the very best varietals from all the growing regions in Spain. Grilled Bronzino, Chilean sea bass and grouper specials are highlights. Expensive paella options not my favorite.
Response: Hi Eduardo, We're glad you enjoyed your experience with us! we hope to see you again at Taberna del Alabardero! Don't forget that we're having a special wine tasting dinner on June 23rd. Call us at 202-429-2200 for reservations...

Rachel U: Reservations for Saturday night, we were warmly greeted and seated. Unfortunately due to the busy night, we were only able to order 1 kind of paella for at least 2 people. So we ordered the lamb and cod. Both were yummy. The squid ink sticky rice was so fun. We ended with complimentary pastries. Live band and dancer were the cherry on top! Such a great experience, we will be back.

David Arrimadas: Amazing restaurant. It is a piece of Spain in Washington. The quality of the food is very high same as the professionalism of all the staff. We really felt at home. It was a great experience for our Spanish family that after five months in US is really missing our country delights. Highly recommended if you want to have a good time and food!

Rob A.: We gave this place a try for Restaurant Week. Wonderful decor, complimentary parking in the garage right across the street (after 4PM weekdays and all day on weekends), the food was awesome and the staff was very friendly and attentive. We had the seafood paella and it was excellent. The other dishes coming out of the kitchen looked just as good, and I'm sure they were! Only negative was the fact that my wife and I had to order the same paella since they're made for two. I don't really understand this. What happens if you are dining alone? I don't know.
Response: Hi Rob, We're glad you enjoyed your experience with us! we hope to see you again at Taberna del Alabardero! Don't forget that we extended our Restaurant Week until January 30th

Joshua Russell: Classic DC restaurant that specializes in Spanish cuisine. We were able to get reservations for Sunday night to celebrate a birthday. At time of reservation I mentioned it was birthday celebration. When we arrived, we were greeted quickly and sat. They had a nice, cozy table reserved with a very nice Happy Birthday card written for our special guest! We started out with tortilla de patata, friend manchengo cheese with raspberry sauce and the cherry & mango gazpacho. Everything was superb, the favorite was the cheese with the raspberry sauce. We ordered a chicken and seafood paella to split with everyone. It was spot on with both the texture and taste one would expect from paella. The seafood that came with it were clams, mussels and shrimp. For dessert we ordered the churros with chocolate and the warm cheesecake. Not were very good and just the right size. We were surprised yet again with a very special Happy Birthday plate written in chocolate with some berries, chocolate and cookies. Very good and will look forward to coming back here again soon.
Response: Hi Joshua, We're glad you enjoyed your experience with us! we hope to see you again at Taberna del Alabardero! Don't forget that we're having a special wine tasting dinner on June 23rd. Call us at 202-429-2200 for reservations...

Mark Blanchard: Spain meets Dorothy Draper on the decor, pretty awesome. Food was great, serrano leg sitting in front of you getting sliced. Sadly we got a piece of bone with the serrano. The food was good, and so was the service. We enjoyed the flamenco dance and music around 830pm.

Morgan Niu: I was there for DC restaurant week. They have special menu for us. Food is good but I am a little disappointed. Service is excellent. Live music and dance are impressive. I would like to talk more about the taste of food. I had tuna guacamole tartare, tastes like poke bowl. My husband had blood sausage. Seafood paella is good. Usually it is salty in other restaurant, but not here. However it looks messy in the plate. I shared this paella with my friend. But server didn’t share it equally in out plate. I have more in my plate, it is little awkward. Dessert is caramel flan. Caramel sauce is way too strong. My husband gave it a try, he agreed with me. One drop of the caramel sauce could stay in your mouth for 5 mins. By the end of the dinner. I forget all the taste from previous dish. Only the taste of caramel in my mouth and my brain

Lynelle Nicole: The owners at DCanter Wine Boutique in Capitol Hill recommended this place. It did not disappoint. We had papas bravas, garlic shrimp, and the mixed paella with a bunch of wine. The happy hour section was lively and full of people. The section we were in was quiet and secluded; perfect for a business dinner or confidential conversation. I’d love to come back when they have live music.
Response: Hi Lynelle, We're glad you enjoyed your experience with us! we hope to see you again at Taberna del Alabardero! Don't forget that we're having a special wine tasting dinner on March 24th. Follow the link for more info https://bit.ly/3wJUVDd

Aleyda Villavicencio: We came across this place entirely by luck, but having been in Spain and loving Spanish food like we do, this place didn’t disappoint, and we felt really confident the food had to be good when we walked in and realized many tables were taken by Spanish guests. If you’re in town you have to stop here. Plus they have a lunch menu that’s very affordable!

Fogo de Chão Brazilian Steakhouse: what do users think?

Vy H.: LOVE THIS PLACE!! My work company had our holiday lunch gathering here recently! The restaurant has a nice and fancy vibe, and surprisingly was packed for a weekday lunch. Their salad bar is awesome—with a huge selection of choices. Their meats (that come around your table) is so delicious and well flavored. In addition, staff is very friendly and attentive. I was a little disappointed that they didn’t have the chocolate cake as a dessert option for our meal, but the cheesecake with strawberry sauce was really good!

Kevin Amaya: Went here for a company brunch and was blown away! If excellent service, high quality food and drinks in a comfortable and relaxing setting then this place should be in your top places to visit. You won't be disappointed with the selection of different foods to choose from.

Joseph Middleton: Went for my first time ever at Fogo with my siblings to celebrate the end of a trip together. This dinner was one of the highlights of our vacation. Our waiter as well as the entire waitstaff and all of the gaucho chefs were wonderful, knowledgeable, and professional and made the experience all that much more enjoyable. The selection of meats rotated through regularly and the market table had a great selection of fruit, salads, and other delicious food. The side dishes we were brought were delicious. We were celebrating my sister's graduation and the staff went above and beyond to make it special. I cannot speak highly enough of this dinner. It's truly an excellent experience and was a memorable one for my siblings and I.

JennyLovesGogi 제럽고 (제니럽스고기): Especially, the lamb was fantastic. They provide fresh salad, salmon, soup, and fruits at the self corner. And they gave us a fantastic cheesecake for our birthday! 💯💯Thank you for nice food and service!

Morgan: Fantastic service. The employees here really work well as a team. The food is always great. I took my boyfriend here when we first started dating and he loved it. Took him again along with my grandparents, who were in town visiting… I didn’t tell our server, but we were also celebrating my grandma being cancer-free. Our server went out of his way to give my grandma a free dessert that said “Welcome to DC” (see picture)… That was really nice. Thanks for many great experiences.

Steffon Greatness: Danie Magalhes & Staff are super accommodating. They understand customer service. Daniel kept a smile on his face as if he wanted to be at work. The Service, QUICK, Efficient, & Friendly. It’s as if they want you to ask question. 🤣 The Food, Fresh, Hot, Tasty❗️I’ve been to hole in the wall Brazilian spots and I’ve been to Texas de Brazil… the food tastes better thank all of those I’ve experienced. Pro Tip, They get busy quick, they have a full dining area. Tables fit 2, 4 & round tables that must fit about 8. They fill up pretty quick. (And this was a Thursday) Try the bottom steak & lamb. It’s the best. I wasn’t a fan of the beer marinated chicken however it wasn’t bad. Last thing get the soda in the picture it’s AMAZING. I want a case of them lol. *** Please mark this helpful if it helped you***

Naturally E: The food and service was top notch! I really enjoyed all of the selections & the quality of the meat. The market table was my favorite! Soooo many options to choose from. The drinks were fantastic! Surprisingly, they have Happy Hour all day! Our server, Ryan, was ahhhmazing! He was super cool! Really enjoyed our meal.

John Kurton: Great place for meat lovers. Great quality meats and good size cuts just kept on coming. The salad bar was great too. Some how even managed to find room for dessert.
Response: So happy to hear this, John! Thank you very much for the support - we can't wait to serve you again.

Jesse Campo: I don't know why I'd never been here before, but I'll certainly be back. Got super lucky with a reservation being available last minute. I'd recommend getting a reservation if you're coming for dinner, especially on a weekend. We still ended up waiting about 15 mins for our table, but it was well worth it. The food is amazing, and it's pretty much all you can eat high quality meats and salad bar (with delicious sides)! I didn't expect there to be so many different meats. I was seriously impressed with it all. It came to about $80 per person after tip - not cheap, but definitely worth it. If you haven't been here and you're looking for an awesome meal, get a reservation and go! Make sure you're hungry and don't waste *too* much time at the salad bar - ha.

Autumn Bishop: We went for the first time for my birthday, everything was amazing. Our server Denzel was overall a 10/10 super attentive even though it was crazy busy he made sure our needs were met and even offered to have specific meats brought to us if we hadn’t tried them yet. He also had great recommendations and accommodations. The food was all fantastic. We will be definitely coming back the next time we are in DC !!

Old Ebbitt Grill: what do users think?

Natalia Mednikov: There are straightforward American-style food. This restaurant is best known for its huge old-school oyster bar—think lots of dark wood, brass fixtures, and big mirrors. That oysters was fantastic and fresh. We’ve enjoyed also cheese sampler, fried calamari and baked oysters. Everything they do is absolutely delicious. The service was very fast and friendly. We were happy to choose this great restaurant to end our busy day in Washington, D.C.

Tiberiu Hrihorciuc: Loved the experience! Tasted a dozen oysters and each one was more delicious than the other. Wine is very fairly priced. Saw it more expensive in some New York wine discount stores. The fish was such a huge portion when they split it in two plates we told them that we did not order 2 plates but to our surprise that was a full plate. If you get a chance to go to happy hours for oysters don't hesitate!
Response: Thank you, Tiberiu!

Aditya Karandikar: Had an awesome time here as a late night/ early next day stop. The food was quite nice and fairly refined, especially at such a late hour! The atmosphere was popping as well which made it more enjoyable. Service was very friendly and they had great oysters. Fresh complimentary bread never hurts either…

Sam M: This place is one of the more famous restaurants in DC. I visited this spot during brunch and it was packed. I would definitely recommend making a reservation for both weekend dinner and brunch services. I started with New England clam chowder and some salad dish. For entrees, I got eggs benedict and catfish. All the dishes I ordered were pretty good. But, I definitely enjoyed their desserts more even though I was pretty full before it. Their key lime pie and salted caramel bread pudding were both amazing! Staffs were very accommodating and attentive during the whole service. I’m planning to visit this restaurant and will get some oysters and burgers next time. I heard they are pretty good. I definitely recommend this place to celebrate any special occasions.

Suzi Figueroa: Wow, wow and wow! A friend recommended this establishment to me when I asked for dining recommendations for my upcoming DC trip. I am so glad I listened. The warm and inviting ambiance matched the service. And the food? Oh my goodness. Delicious. My SO ordered meatloaf. Who knew meatloaf could take on a such an extraordinary presentation.
Response: Suzi, Thank you for visiting Old Ebbitt Grill and leaving a great review! We're happy to hear that you enjoyed your experience and we hope to have you back again the next time you're in town.

Mary H: What a DC institution. I've been here numerous times taking "out of town" guests but always failed to write a review... This place is busy and crowded... so make a reservation. Service is attentive and friendly. Try to get a seat in the atrium, much nicer and brighter. *turkey club-generous portions of turkey. It was good and the fries were nice and hot. *salad greens- tasty, I wanted something light. *calamari-nice and crispy. They have a good selection on their menu, we just weren't that hungry. It's kinda the place to go when you visit DC.
Response: Thank you, Mary!

Amy Workman: If you're worried that this a nice place turned tourist trap that cuts corners, worry not. We had a fantastic experience and the food was superb. Our server was in his 9th year here and I wished he could've just sat and talked with us all night. They were wonderfully accommodating and welcoming of our kids, which you definitely can't say about a lot of places. Some places know that if the kids are happy the parents are more than happy to get another round and more dishes. And then when we're sans-kids someday, we'll definitely be back to sit at one of the beautiful bars. We had the walrus raw bar which was perfect for us never having had raw oysters. They did a little of each kind they had that night and I had no idea oysters could taste so different. We had the mussels, kids mac and cheese, and sausage pasta dish. The pasta was house made and the sauce creamy and spicy. So good. After dinner we walked it off around the White House. I've spent much more at restaurants and not gotten half as much food or nearly as good as service, so even though it was our most expensive meal in DC it was also our best value. Definitely a must-go in DC.

Elaine Viegas: AMAZING! There is no other word to describe it. Since we arrived until we paid the service was perfect. I couldn’t be more happy for their food, service and kindness on my birthdays lunch. We didn’t mention that it was my birthday but they saw on my profile and as soon as I arrived they asked to confirm and no only brought my desert with a candle and a cute chocolate happy birthday place on the top. Our server was amazing, she arrived singing happy birthday, was very classy and really surprised me. Thank you for the excellence in your service. BTW the food it’s top quality, my oysters and shrimps were fresh abs really tasteful.

Jelena M: Great food, great price, great service! The waiter we had was so nice, knowledgeable, and friendly! The calamari was very good, but watch out for the spicy peppers in it . My salad was yummy! I usually never order salads, but I am glad I did as the dressing was citrusy and refreshing! They also give warm bread and butter while you wait 😍
Response: Jelena, Thank you for stopping by Old Ebbitt Grill and leaving a great review! We're delighted to hear that you enjoyed your experience and look forward to having you back again soon!

Matthew Hanna: This was a pretty cool place to eat. It is so old but very nice inside. Lots of preserved animals I didn't expect to see like sea turtles, walrus and more. The food was great and I really liked the drinks. You can still visit and get a really good burger and fries for like $18 or you can go all out and pay $100+ for a super delicious entree. Either way the alcohol is good.

Alexis Farrar: The drinks was great we got passion Margarita drinks and Parton shots. We ordered the taco bowls and lamb tacos it was great as well haven’t had tacos that great in a while. The whole atmosphere was a vibe the decorations was fire we will definitely go back just make sure you make reservations.
Response: Thanks for the great review!

Patrick Young: Margaritas at happy hour were tasty, cocktails were tasty, and the decor was beautiful, but the rooftop had a plastic shield that blocked our view. We went here since we were looking for a rooftop bar experience, but it takes away from the experience if we can’t see out. The drinks were pretty pricey too even at happy hour

Tenny Kristiana: Love this place. Owner is kind and staff also really nice. Came here a bit late and it was full. We ordered nachos and it was good, love it. Also love their charcoal shot 😆

Moira Leonard: We sat at the bar in a gorgeous covered outdoor space. Our bartender Lina was fantastic and made us so beautiful and delicious drinks. I had the gin drink in the menu with rose and mint syrup among other things and my girlfriend had some special frozen concoction. Lina made some great recommendations and our tacos were fantastic. The carnitas with pineapple slaw was so yummy, but the SHOWSTOPPER was the handmade corn tortillas. They were so soft and held together so well. They were hands down the best tortillas I’ve ever had. If I’m ever back in DC I’m coming for the tacos and the cocktails.

Bobbi DeAnda: This place is a whole vibe!!! Such a beautiful setting! The only reason I didn’t give 5 stars is because about 3/4 of the drink menu was unavailable (and the drinks we got were tasty but weak). Tacos were yummy - and it was taco Tuesday. They messed up my order but brought a replacement quickly. The only other things, seating is not comfortable and it’s not accessible at all - no elevator and large staircase to get there. Other than those things, loved this place! Great service, cool vibe, and great selfie backdrops, haha! :)

Nettie Jackson: Not from DC, so the crowded places still throw me off haha but besides that this place was really cute. You have to make reservations or you will be standing in a line for most the night. It's 20$ fee to book reservations I added a note it was my birthday and they gave us seats but the open window porch . They were nice service. We got the birria empanadas i apologize i only have a video of the food but it was plentiful and 8/10 . I was surprised how affordable the prices were ! It ranged from 7 to 15 dollars. Our server and other staff were very friendly and even with all dc choas rhat it is they were also attentive too! Eventually the window had to be closed due to noise. They play loud music 🎶 but they turned the ac on and the night continued. I also believe there is a 2hr max limit at the table but we had enough time to eat and have some drinks before heading out. I found this place from tiktok. I went on a Saturday night at 1030pm reservation and it was packed

Niki Handy: A complete vibe! Cinco de Mayo lunch was lively with the mariachi band. The margaritas were on point and the service was quick and friendly. Downside- the corn tortillas didn't hold up well with the moisture from the pico or salsa. The three of us all ordered tacos and all had the same issue. I had the shrimp, chicken and fried avocado tacos. Of the three the fried avocado was my favorite. The mango margarita was refreshing.

Johnleia Lambert: El Techo is a vibe! The decor is dreamy, whimsical and simply beautiful. The avocado taco was a surprise treat on the menu. The texture was perfect and the ingredients paired well. The Imperio cocktail was refreshing and perfectly made. I recommend the birria tacos if you love lamb as much as I do. The meat was tender and cooked to perfection. Definitely go to El Techo if you are in the Shaw area.
Response: Thanks for the great review and please tell your friends!

Yonykis Noel: This place was slightly difficult to find. Had it not been for the gentleman who greeted me as I walked past the front, I would have walked past it. FYI it's up the stairs! Tacos are sold individually and no bundle i.e, 3 for a certain price. So be prepared to shell out at least 15$ for 3 tacos. They are generous with all ingredients.

Aaron Krahling: Great Atmosphere, Excellent Menu, Highly Reccomended My teenage daughter and I met a friend at El Techo last night and it was a very pleasant experience. We were greeted and seated promptly at our reservation time. The decor was simple but unique and pretty cool looking. The noise levels were low to moderate so conversation wasn’t difficult, which is my biggest pet peeve when dining. The wait staff was quick to greet us at the table and helped us with any questions we had about different dishes. At our friend’s recommendation, we ordered one of each of their fresh juices followed by their cleanse juice. These beverages were unique in their blends of (not all in one) beets, tangerine, lemon, ginger, apple juice, pear juice and several others that I’m not recalling at this time. When the server brought the juices, they also brought our order of chips/salsa/queso/guacamole. The guacamole was fresh made in house and spiced appropriately while the queso and salsa were far above average. After talking to the server for a while and asking more questions than most would tolerate, we ended up ordering 2 of the 3-taco trays. The juices kind of unexpectedly filled us up so we were light on the meal. The tacos we ordered were Carne Asada, Fried Avocado and Shrimp. They came served on corn tortillas, which weren’t too hard or soft, topped with lettuce, tomato (might have been pico) and onions and then of course whatever the main topping was. They were the perfect temperature and definitely fit in my top 5 best tacos I’ve had, which might sound sub par, but I’ve had hundreds at restaurants all over the country. Since we filled up on juices and tacos, there was no room for dessert but that’s okay. It gives me something to look forward to the next time around. Overall, I give this place a 9/10……………. because there’s no such thing as perfect.

Kafe Leopold: what do users think?

Laurie Zabala: This is my favorite restaurant in Georgetown. If you want to be transported to Europe, this is the place. Great food & desserts. I've eaten here for brunch, lunch, & dinner. I always enjoy the food. It's on the pricier side, but worth it. Servers are friendly. When people visit me from out of town, I make sure we eat at Kafe Leopold at least once 😉

Bernardo Mar: Kafe Leopold is a quality restaurant. It’s modern interior is clean and reminded me of a High end furniture store. The food is made with quality ingredients and one can tell that each dish was made with a lot of attention and thought. The plum pancakes were delicious but took 20 minutes to arrive since they are made fresh to order. The ravioli was very tasty but a bit too oily for my liking.

Patrick Young: The food is delicious, but quite pricy. It’s a lovely cafe down an alley in Georgetown that really does just feel pleasant to eat at. The schnitzel in particular is great. The Austrian coffee is tasty. The pistachio dessert is somewhat disappointing because the pistachio section tastes amazing, but the dessert is ruined by giant strawberries in it that don’t seem to blend well with it texture or flavor wise.

Armida (Justmida): We had breakfast there and this is far from American. The breakfast I had was their French toast which was good, but wasn’t sweet at all. My husbands poached eggs where good however bland and the avocado toast they must like zest! It was over powering and sadly no avocado taste. They did just scrambled eggs for our gd and definitely cooked in butter, but the kid didn’t complain.

A: Went three times. Better for brunch than dinner, and better for sweets than for salty foods. The strüdel is amazing and the pastries are delicious. Dinner wise, the main entrées are a little average, especially for the price. The branzino in particular is a disappointment. but the salmon and the spinach dumplings were enjoyable Brunch wise, the mediterranean breakfast and avocado toast were pretty good. Their location is amazing - lovely patio with a fountain, just off the bustle of Georgetown.

waqas khalid: while walking through George town, we spend some time in Kafe Leopold and ordered some coffee and deserts. customer service was great but taste was OK. prices were little higher but given the great ambiance, they didn't hurt much. no onspot or nearby parking.

Amna Khalil: Leopold's avocado & poached egg toast is full of flavor. Leopold's omelet has a good combination of salmon and spinach. Banana crepe is just okay but I like black forest cake which is really good.

Shaniece Degazon: I highly recommend making a reservation for this place for brunch because i didnt and had to wait 30 minutes as a walk in for a party of 2. So the good thing is that the food is prepared quickly and it is very flavorful. I highly recommend the meditterrean brunch special and the emperor pancakes and lemosas. Street parking available. Total bill with dessert main entrees and drinks was $93. And our server and front of house were very professional. Definitely ill be back for more austrian food.

ReCreate Artworks: This has been by far one of my favorite places to eat around the DC area. Situated perfectly in Georgetown, Kafe Leopold gives you all the best vibes with the greatest quality of food to match it. We started with drinks (Hugo and Mojito). The mojito was one of the best I’ve had. Then ordered the Pulled Pork and Leopold’s Poached Egg and Avocado Toast, and finished it off with a shot of espresso and a Marillentorte. I cannot recommend this place enough. The staff was excellent. The manager was super kind and checked on us. The atmosphere was stress-free and beautiful. Then you have all of Georgetown to explore!

Oneris Barett: Follow us: @onerisbarett on Instagram @gildededges on Instagram @Avetlife on Instagram ---------- What's up my fellow Yelpee's, Googler's and DMV'er's!!! The place is hidden in the center of G-town in Cady's Alley with such beautiful surroundings building's and architecture. The moment you walk in there is a receptionist waiting to seat you and then it opens up to a contemporary setting with lovely colors and a cool bar with tasteful cold desserts. Now down to the food. It was not the greatest! The calamari was probably the one good thing we tasted. We've had better steak and salmon dishes at other places before. The steak was slimy and served slightly cold, and the salmon a bit shabby, and could've been complimented with other or better ingredients. We do not recommend this place. 🤷🏽‍♂️

MXDC Cocina Mexicana | By Chef Todd English: what do users think?

Ardavan Tookaloo: The food was just OK! I got the steak for lunch which as you can see was some black beans and a little white rice and a piece of avocado. There was not much taste to it for the price. It was similar to bowl of steak, the only difference was with my food I asked for medium which came medium well! And the bowl is always well done. Anyway, tried it once but that was it. However I liked the interior and staff are quick.

Ryan Malloy: I've had a lot of Mexican food in my time and love a good Mexican restaurant. This place certainly qualifies. The food was grat. The chicken was cooked perfectly, not over done or dried out. The staff and overall service was attentive and friendly.

Rebecca Boulanger: Came here for appetizers and drinks and had a great time! We sat at the bar and the vibe was fantastic! The margaritas were very smooth and delicious (my favorite was the strawberry) and the quesadillas were also really good. Definitely would come back and try dinner here!

Logan Gore: Found this place when I was visiting DC in DC and came back again this week! The chef and staff are great with food allergies and the food is amazing!! I got the guacamole 🥑, tacos (chicken, pork shoulder and the veggie- all sooo good even without the sauce so I could eat it with my allergies!). I don’t drink and their fresca choices are delicious.

Itsjustmenai Naima: The decor and drinks were perfect. The food not so much. I did visit during happy hour so I tried everything off that menu. I might come back to try dinner. I will say happy hour is the best time to try new restaurants.

Ruslman: Professional and helpful staff. Warm but distant ambience. Flavorful food and drinks, but the meal was not the best I have had. For drinks we started with the Blackberry Cilantro Margherita which was a great way to start, very flavorful and refreshing. We tried the strawberry daiquirita which was good but a little flat. For starters we had the seasonal guacamole and the mariscada quesadilla. The guacamole was bursting with flavor and fresh; the quesadilla was slightly over cooked, but tasty. We followed with the MX fajitas and the Salmon. Both were tasty, but the sides served with the salmon were cold. Overall, it was a positive experience, but not the best I have had.

Alfonso A. Rivera Cordero: I love this restaurant. Great atmosphere, awesome decoration, food is great, the soup has a lovely spicy. Also I try their mezcal cocktail and it was intrigue and lovely good. I would love to come Backstreet.

James Flores: Very good, quality Mexican meal. Loved the white queso and the fact that it comes with soft corn tortillas to dip in. Enchiladas were delicious and the burrito was decent! Excellent mezcal cocktail as well - a "Mezcalita"

Patrick MacMillan: Was uneasy on going here after seeing some of the reviews. However we were politely greeted upon entry into this lovely looking restaurant. The staff was friendly and patient with my in-laws who barely speak any English. The cocktails were pricey and somewhat small but you get your money’s worth of alcohol for sure. That same theme continues with the food. Portions are on the smaller side but are extremely flavorful and satisfying. The flavors and dishes are family friendly and also friendly to newcomers to Mexican food. The menu is also good for those who want an authentic Mexican tasting experience. Overall friendly staff, delicious food and drinks that may seem expensive but you get exactly what you pay for.

renee vuz: We stopped in for lunch while in Washington D.C. on April 9, 2022. The restaurant had a great atmosphere. We were dressed causally and that was fine. Guacamole was fabulous. We loved our meals. Their margaritas were out of this world. The waitstaff were so welcoming. Highly recommend.
