Josephine Butler Parks Center: what do users think?

Liza Greenberg: We checked out multiple venues in DC, but none captured the vision we had for our October 19, 2019 wedding like the Josephine Butler Parks Center. The space is beautiful enough to not need too much decoration but simple enough to be a blank canvas if you wanted to go big. We had 120 guests and it felt both spacious and intimate. Malina was very informative and helpful and has done the wedding rodeo enough times to have answers to every question we threw at her. And we felt especially great about using the Center because we knew we were supporting the Washington Parks!

Joseph Ortega: A classy and elegant old venue in the heart of the city. Spacious and full of rich historical ties to the city.

Aaron Hedquist: I’ve photographed several weddings at the PARKS CENTER. Every time, the venue is well organized, plenty of room for vendors, and the guest seem to really enjoy the multi-level space. You also won’t be able to beat the access to one of the largest (and best) parks in DC. PLUS, the building is run by a local non-profit so a portion of the proceeds go back to doing great work here in DC. If your thinking about having a wedding, corporate, or family event, definitely check-out the JOSEPHINE BUTLER PARKS CENTER.

Jeffrey Harris: Fun event space. Been there for wedding and fundraising/social event. Lovely.

Darrell Grymes: Went there to help with the up keep of My Great Aunt Josephine Center by Malcolm X Park Saturday with my Cousin Kara and Her Son's Justin and Keenan 🙏🏾

Audrey Link: Attended a couple of wedding parties here. Fairly well maintained historic home. Nice staircase in the foyer which is a good spot for photos. There is a balcony (might hold 30)which is a nice place for cocktails in nice weather. There was more than enough room in the dining area for the 150 or so in attendance at the last party. There are 2 kitchens, an upstairs which is a decent size and a much smaller one on the lower level. This provides a lot of room for prep and the fridges help with the cooling of your beverages so not everything has to be chilled on ice. Parking is a little difficult because of the location, but the same can be said for all places in that vicinity. Overall a very quaint location for your event.

Andrew Breza: A charming and historic event spacelocated next to Meridian Hill Park

M U K T I . D E S A I: I had my wedding here in September of 2014 and it was absolutely perfect! The space is gorgeous and we knew the venue was for us the moment we saw it. We had just under 150 people and the space was perfect. Dinner was a little cramped, but other than that the space was perfect. We were lucky and had amazing weather so we are also able to make great use of the terrace. This is the perfect place for someone wanting a DC wedding at a reasonable price. The photo opps are also amazing and if you are lucky and get good weather, the park is so close and makes for great photos as well.

Erin R: Went here for a gala. A historic venue that is perfect for a small to medium sized corporate or personal event! Two stories we’d open for us to gather in. The staircase is beautiful!

Amy Molatto: It's a beautiful venue space with a lot of flexibility especially for a smaller group. It also hosts fun community activities like swing dance and exercise classes.

Honey & Lavender Events: what do users think?

Erin Phillips (Attention To Darling): Maya helped us plan my daughter's fifth birthday during quarantine. She was extraordinary! Very professional, quick timing, and she over-delivered. I never could have dreamed up all the fun ideas and executed upon everything without her creativity and organization. Even from states away, she was so very helpful! I HIGHLY recommend her virtual party planning services! Thank you Maya for a wonderful party, you're a lifesaver!
Response: Erin - thanks so much! It was our pleasure planning Sully's party!

Bryce Fowler: Positive: Professionalism, Quality, Responsiveness, ValueMaya with Honey and Lavender was the best support to plan and execute my husband’s 50th birthday week. She was responsive and creative up front in the planning phase and great to have as an extra pair of hands during execution. I would definitely hire Maya again and recommend her for any party planning.
Response: Thanks so much! We loved helping you plan your hubby's beach bash. He is very blessed to have you for a wife. :-)

Krista Hall: I don't even know where to begin. Obviously, a little Guardian angel led us to Honey and Lavender when searching for a Wedding Planner and we are so grateful we found Maya Mahoney. From the minute Amanda and Andrew reached out to her all the way to the end of the Wedding Reception Maya and Juliette were professional, fun, caring, always on top of things, and calm which are all the things a bride and groom need. Never once did we feel like we were left hanging waiting on information or have any concern as Maya made sure we knew all was on target with the timeline and there was nothing to worry about. Juliette was also very helpful and a delight to be with on the day of the wedding. Maya is the best and we greatly appreciate how well she does her job and runs her business. I highly recommend Honey and Lavender to anyone looking for the finest Wedding Planner in the DC area. My daughter's Wedding was in Baltimore and flawless thanks to Maya and her team. Krista H (Mother of the Bride)
Response: Your lovely daughter and handsome son-in-law were dream clients. The parents of the bride weren’t too shabby either! 😉

Attorney Yaida Ford: Positive: Responsiveness, ValueMaya was great to work with. I was under alot of pressure with a venue who wasn't as organized as I'd hoped. She saw details that needed to be worked out before I did and I felt that she was reliable. She was also responsive...even over a holiday weekend. I would definitely work with her again.
Response: Thanks Yaida! We’re so glad we could take something off your shoulders, given how busy you are. You’re birthday bash was spectacular and well deserved.

Amanda Hall: I knew early on that I would need a wedding planner as my job is always super busy. I'm organized but couldn't do it all and was so glad I realized that before we got far in the planning. Maya and her team at Honey & Lavender absolutely exceeded our expectations, were such a joy to work with, kept us on track, relieved SO much stress, and really became a friend. I *highly* recommend working with her for your wedding (or other events!). You definitely will not be disappointed.
Response: We absolutely loved working with you and Andrew throughout the entire planning process. You both were dream clients!

Lynne Cripe: My husband and I hired Honey & Lavender Events for full-service planning of our 10-year vow renewal. We eloped when we got married and this was our chance to have a wedding-like event that we had promised our family and friends to one-day hold. Maya and her team were AMAZING! They immediately got a sense of our vision and hopes for the event, helped identify a stellar team of vendors, kept us on track in terms of tasks and budget, came up with creative ideas when we were stumped, helped us navigate the vagaries of event planning during a pandemic, and took care of the details so we could enjoy our guests and each other. People asked us if we were stressed in the days prior to our vow renewal and our ability to honestly respond, "No" was all due to the competence and care of Maya and her team. I would hire them again in a heartbeat and would recommend them enthusiastically to others.
Response: Thank you so much! We absolutely loved working with you and Ray on your stunning and beautiful dinner.

Meredith Stradley: Maya and her team (particularly Juliet!) were great from day one. She was so good at keeping me on schedule, thinking of the smallest details, and providing great recommendations for vendors. Three days prior to our wedding reception, there was a 98% chance of rain and thunderstorms. And, three days prior, we were informed by the venue that we could not have a tent for cocktail hour, which had been promised to us during the entire process in the event of rain. Maya handled so much back-and-forth, and long story short, Maya convinced the venue to allow us to bring in an outside tent vendor, which required Maya and her team calling 19 (not a typo!) tent vendors to find a tent available for our reception on such short notice. I was shocked she was able to pull it off, but that's what Maya does. And in the end, our reception was truly great and more perfect than we could have imagined!
Response: We are so glad everything ended working out perfectly! We loved all the time we got to spend with you and your wonderful family. :-)

Yana Kravtsova: Maya organized my teen's birthday and it was a seamless and fun process. She is very responsive, organized, picked up the ideas and style we wanted for the party easily and implemented it with very little involvement from us due to our busy schedule and travel. Everything from venue to cake and favors was on point and within our budget. Everything went smoothly, and everyone had lots of fun. Thank you! Highly recommended!
Response: We absolutely loved working with you on this birthday party! Such a fun theme, special birthday gal with awesome parents. You made our job easy.

joan hadeed: You absolutely need Maya and her team at your wedding. I cannot say enough good things about them. I hired Maya as my day of planner and from a month out from the wedding she was coordinating it all! I was at ease in the weeks leading up to the wedding because Maya was so responsive to all of my vendors and made sure there was a detailed timeline for the weekend. The day of was PERFECT. Maya and her team are so warm, flexible, organized, and professional. I received so many compliments from both other vendors and guests. Everyone says “something” will go wrong on your wedding day. NOTHING went wrong on our day thanks to Honey and Lavender!!
Response: You and Jordan were the sweetest! Definitely #couplegoals and #clientgoals

Jennifer Greene Naples: Maya and Juliette planned a garden soiree birthday party for us in the spring. They were fantastic -- timely, knowledgeable, and well-connected. It was a wonderful, WORRY-FREE experience, which was EXACTLY what we wanted. Would HIGHLY RECOMMEND Honey and Lavender Events, without hesitation, and hope to be able to work with them again in the future! Thank you again for all your help!
Response: Thank you so much for trusting us to plan your bash! We had so much fun.

The LINE DC: what do users think?

Corry: We stayed at The Line for three nights and I wish we could have stayed longer! Prior to our arrival the front desk staff were friendly and helpful on the phone with fantastic dinner suggestions and tips for getting around via public transit. We arrived early and were expecting to leave our bags at the front desk but the employee was very accommodating and checked us in. The room was lovely. Incredibly clean bathroom and bedroom, a beautiful view, comfortable bed, and very quiet. We enjoyed downtime either at the rooftop mini bar at night watching planes fly in to Reagan air port or during the day on the patio out front of the hotel. Truly a beautiful hotel and spectacular staff. 10/10 would recommend!!
Response: Thank you so much for your kind words as well as your rating! Please come back and see us again soon!

Marshall Daly: Superb location, and very cool building. Rooms are good — certainly better & more unique than a chain hotel, but nothing fancy. Service, however, was very disappointing for this price point. Called room service for an extra set of utensils... never delivered. Front desk called with a non-urgent questions at ~11pm on Friday night, then accidentally called my room at ~6am the following Saturday morning... ouch. Finally, tried to check out the hotel's rooftop bar and later, the "included" rental bikes... only to find out that roof was not open to guests and the bikes were not available. All told, great location and cool architecture, but for this price the service & amenities left a lot to be desired. Hopefully they can improve, it's great having a hotel option in such an excellent location!
Response: Thank you for taking the time to provide your feedback. Sorry for your experience. I am having trouble finding your reservation. Please reach out to me here at the hotel so we can discuss this matter.

Mollie Young: Everything about our experience was incredible. The staff is warm and hospitable, the room was spacious and tasteful (with great city views), and the amenities cannot be beat! We were so excited to use the gym and couldn’t get over equipment options — there’s something for everyone! The hotel restaurant, No Goodbyes, is also a must. The service is excellent and the food is fantastic. Definitely have a cocktail at the bar before or after dinner and check out the coffee shop the next morning. Everything about our stay was wonderful, and we are already planning our return visit!
Response: Thank you so much for your review! I'm forwarding it to the team as we speak! Don't be a stranger!

Sara Urtz: Our stay was okay, not great. For the price, I was expecting great. There’s nothing really special about this hotel. There was no fridge to keep waters we brought in (besides the minibar which was full of drinks to buy) and the curtains are paper thin, letting in so much light it was hard to sleep. Great location and staff was friendly, but nothing special besides that.
Response: Hey Sara! I'm sorry you didn't have the experience you would've like or got to use the black out shades that are in every room. The chain to use them is low profile and on the sides of the windows behind the curtains. Come back and see us again and we will ben more than happy to have them drawn upon arrival! And feel free to move anything you'd like from the mini bar for your personal use. We have no problem with that. Have a great day.

Dj Theo: Fantastic hotel located in Adams Morgan. Valet parking. The staff was amazing and helpful the whole time. This building used to be church, now it's a fabulous concept hotel w a unique style. Check out the rooftop terrace! Great views of Washington DC! Food is locally sourced and was deliciously served every day. Thank you for a great experience @ The Line Hotel DC !
Response: Thank you so much for your kind words as well as your rating! Come back and see us again soon!

Anna Ponamarchuk: Hotel is amazingly beautiful! It looks like Spanish parlament house from outside and it looks like a design studio from incite! So beautiful! Sweet Rachel was there the the mornings both days I was staying. She rescued my life with all the printing for my embassy apartment. She was kind, bubbly, and so helpful! I have a hotel my self and would definitely love to work with her! Kenny helped me on the phone after I checked out. These guys are great! They complete my wonderful stay in The Line DC Definitely recommend and will come back!
Response: WOW! This truly mad my day! Rachel is the best partner a guy could hope for. Thank you so much for your kind words! Kenny

Kevin Shim: Staff is friendly. Location is good. Room was decent. The Line DC has everything that typically comes with a 5-star hotel. A restaurant, a gym, conference rooms, and valet parking. The hotel entrance is on the side of the building! Keep in mind that valet parking is going to be $59 per night, which may be worth it since it’s difficult to street park in DC. Due to zoning laws, you’ll only be able to street park for 2-3 hours at most unless you have a resident sticker. The area (it’s called Adams Morgan) has a variety of food options, and generally safe to go out at night. At the time of this writing (early 2022), there was a noticeable homeless presence on the streets of DC. Most are harmless and will leave you alone. The hotel room is decent. The sink water gets scaldingly hot, which you may or may not like. The shower head has strong pressure, so the water will give you a massage. Some of the furnishings in the room seem cheaply done. For example, the power cord for the free standing lamp is fixed onto the wall with some cheap plastic. Some of these fixtures were coming off the wall when I was there. Overall, decent 5-star hotel. Nothing extraordinary.
Response: Thank you for such a thorough and well thought out review of the hotel. I will forward it to the entire team so we can turn that 3 star into a 5 star next time! Have a great day!

Syed Ahmed Ullah: Amazing experience. The view from the roof top is just amazing. We had our company dinner hosted at the location and the service alongside the food quality was amazing. They also served halal food to cater our needs and there's was a non alcoholic cocktail bar as well. Wonderful experience!!
Response: Thank you so much for your kind words as well as your rating! Come back and see us again soon!

Greg: Great experience overall. Much like everything else in DC though, the location makes my head spin. Plus there's no on-site parking...but it's d.c. so, that's expected really. Great stay. The bed and pillows PLUS THE SOAP! The soap and shampoo was just crazy good.
Response: Thank you for your kind words as well as your rating. Let us know the next time you head this way and you can try the on-site valet parking!

photog1976: One of the worst restaurant experiences ever. Our waiter forgot dishes and then forgot again for another 25min once reminded and chose to blame the kitchen staff rather than seeking to resolve the situation and make a simple apology. He then slammed down the plates when serving, gave our family the stink eye and walked off without saying a word. We made sure to be polite and respectful the whole time, but this place is just full of staff who think they’re too good for their job. Food was nothing to write home about. Was much better with previous owners.
Response: I'm sorry for your experience at the restaurant, which is surprising considering how many great reviews they receive. Please reach out to us directly at the restaurant so we can discuss the matter in further detail. Thank you.

Washington Plaza Hotel: what do users think?

Gabs B: To be honest, we felt a little "catfished" by the online advertising and found the room a little small & fairly outdated and the bathroom layout was very strange. The gentleman who checked us in at night could've been more welcoming but otherwise the staff were great. The location was fantastic, we found it very easy to navigate the town & get back. Pool & gym were good. We ultimately enjoyed our stay.
Response: Thank you for staying with us during your DC visit and thank you for sharing your feedback. We value guest comments as these help us continuously improve our hotel based on what is important to our guests.

Olivier Miart: Good hotel but a little dated and tired, the pool is not always supervised and closes for 30min end of the afternoon while supervisor takes break, hotel laundry service lost two of my shirts, refunded the dry clean but it did not cover for the cost of my lost shirts. Also don't bring your own snack in the lounge area outdoors otherwise you'll be told loud and clear that you cannot eat your own food there. Welcoming staff, good location and views.

Manny Sergentakis: We arrived 2 hours early and got a room without waiting. Excellent staff and customer service. Outdoor pool was great. All the sites are walking distance. Highly recommended.

Connor Roberts: Excellent location, service and comfortable rooms. The parking situation was extremely secure and easy as well. Perfect hotel right in the middle of Downtown DC if you want to be within walking distance of all the attractions. There is a complimentary gym with more than average options to workout as well. The pool is quite nice and has a bar outside too with great employees. Couldn't recommend staying here enough.
Response: Mr. Roberts, thank you for 5 out of 5 rating and for the great review. We couldn't agree with you more - our location is ideal, our amenities extensive and our staff is top notch. Please think of us again for your next DC visit!

K S: I stayed there for a couple of nights and I can't say I am am satisfied. Everything in my room looked old, dated and worn down. The room is not modern looking at all. Even the color on the walls is depressing. The worst was that I booked the place and locked the price through booking. I was then charged a higher price, called and emailed the hotel 3 times, I was given various excuses till I eventually filled a complaint with booking to get refunded for the additional money I was charged. The neighborhood is nice but I would never stay at this hotel again. I would say that on the booking site the pictures are not dishonest but surely deceiving.

Cesar Zucco: Great location. And a great pool that allows guests to forget about the location. Architecture invokes what the future looked like in the 60s.

Kelley Hambrick: Absolutely beautiful place. All the staff were very friendly and hospitable. We were treated very well. I love that your car is locked secure in the garage every night. Check out time is NOT at the crack of dawn...the only disappointment was the beautiful pool was closed. The bathroom tile was beautiful and clean. Beds were comfy and very clean. Location, I gave 4 stars only because it was a little bit of a walk to get to the museums. But also, it was a nicer quiet area, right across the street from the beautiful Martin Luther Church.

Shannon Dermid: Upon arrival, we were greeted and welcomed so pleasantly. The young lady that checked us in went above and beyond for us after we asked her about some local black owned restaurants. The pool was not open as of yet but looked great! We will definitely return to enjoy the pool and their outdoor bar. The restaurant bar inside the hotel was great as well, the lady bartender was alot of fun. The greeter was always attentive and very friendly when opening the doors for everyone. Parking was so easy, it is a extra charge BUT it is in all of DC hotels. It was very clean and beds and pillows comfortable. This hotel is in a PERFECT LOCATION, right in the middle of everything. This is our go to stay at spot now.
Response: We're delighted you enjoyed your stay and we look forward to having you back soon!

Arun Bharath: Great location, big pool and cleaning services everyday which is fast disappearing from other hotels! White House, museums, and restaurants fairly close to the hotel. A bit dated and could use some renovation but still recommend for a stay there.

Tony Duncan: Pool area is great. Rooms a bit dated but we’re clean and comfortable.

The Mansion on O & O Street Museum: what do users think?

Alita brown: I had such a great time hearing about the history of the Mansion on O. So many doors and rooms. Vintage overload. Love it! I will definitely be back. The owner and his family were so pleasant to us. I hope they were able to take one of sushi restaurant recommendations. Please go and support this local jewel
Response: Thank you for your kind words! So glad you enjoyed the experience. Hope to see you again soon.

Phillip Speer: I was looking for a truly unique place to take my wife for her birthday, and the Mansion on O Street definitely lived up to expectations. This is not a luxury hotel, but what it lacks in luxury, it more than makes up for in charm. The staff was very friendly and helpful, and they worked hard to make sure our stay was enjoyable. There's a lot of interesting history behind the Mansion, and the ability to explore it at any hour of the day or night was really cool. We had originally booked a standard room, but when we got there, they gave us a choice of standard room or an entire suite across the street due to there being a special event at the Mansion that evening, so of course we took the free upgrade. My only complaint was that the bed wasn't as comfortable as it could have been, but we were only staying the night, so it was fine.

Kurt Heuberger: We did the After Hours tour and had a truly unique experience! We spent 2 and a half hours exploring the mansion, and we felt we could have spent more time there (sadly they were closing for the night). I really felt like I could go back the next day and have a completely different experience. If you are in the DC area, I highly recommend the Mansion on O Street.

K A: I visited the historic O museum last week but I wasn’t able to explore the mansion because I got there late. I’ll definitely revisit earlier another day to have ample time to explore the 100 rooms and shop. You can literally spend the whole day there. Make sure to check for the available hours and tours before heading there. I highly recommend to all locals and tourists. It’s a must see!!! Lovely Ambiance ✅ Good Service ✅ Very Friendly And Courteous Staff✅
Response: Thank you so much for your kind words!

Jeff Kuhn: This is a beautiful, quirky, hard to characterize, wonderful, artistic, art museum, event space, hotel. If you've been to the Visionary Art Museum in Baltimore, it has that same sort of vibe in a much more personal, hands-on way. It's 5 Georgetown row houses with some history consolidated into a single interconnected location. It's full of themed rooms and an uncountably huge number of curios and artwork. And hidden doors. The entire place is a piece of art that you're a part of while you're in it. Sign up for a visit and immerse yourself for a few hours. And they have a bar!
Response: Thank you for your kind words Jeff! Hope to see you again soon.

Jia Fan: Feels like a giant flee market, with no organization. Rooms and rooms of things piled together. Not worth the Money, especially considering there are so many museums here in DC that are world class and all free. The secret doors sounded cool, but not really…
Response: It seems you may have missed many of our wonderful artifacts and immersive exhibits including the Pop Culture room, Chucky's room, the Log Cabin, Miss USA's crown, Allyson Felix's Olympic running spike, NASA artifacts, rare photographs of The Beatles, Janis Joplin, and Johnny Cash to name a few, movie memorabilia, art, sculpture, and over 70 signed guitars. We are a volunteer-run, non-profit, sustained primarily by your donations. When you visit the O Museum in The Mansion you provide critical support for our museum arts and social justice programs. We hope you find solace in knowing that your visit helped to support the community.

Will Stein: Had a wonderful time at this museum on Saturday, it was quite unique and engaging! I was served drinks from Tameka who was kind, patient and seemed to be effectively running the operation. I purchased a book from 1889 called Carrots and an old Victorian sofa, how fun!

Lakshmi Mahalingam: I would call this more of a flea market maze than a museum. If you like searching for cool things to buy in an overwhelming mountain of junk and you are ok with very tight/cluttered spaces, this is for you. I was disappointed because it was advertised as a museum - which it has the potential to be if the items were curated and displayed in a pleasing way. The staff were absolutely lovely and we did end up buying a couple neat things (book, shot glasses, earrings). I was so excited to visit I even dragged my BF and my mom, but it was a waste of time and $. I would recommend the Hillwood Mansion & Gardens for a truly gorgeous experience.
Response: Unfortunately, it sounds like you missed seeing many of our gems like original artwork by Mersad Berber, Frederick Hart, Gerald Johnson, and others, one-of-a-kind artifacts like Bob Dylan’s guitar when he was inducted into the Rock-and-Roll Hall of Fame in 1988, Miss USA's crown, a Grateful Dead Rock Hall Induction Trophy, Prince's Purple Rain Jacket, the flag that flew over Merrill Lynch during 9-11, an original letter written by John Lennon, or Mrs. Rosa Parks room (she stayed with us whenever she visited for 10 years). We understand we have a LOT of things to look at and maybe that is not your style — but perhaps it would help you to know the majority of what you see has been donated by our neighbors, friends, and members who open their hearts and give us things to sell in support of our museum arts and social justice programs. These programs support all those who are giving of themselves to serve others so it makes it especially joyful to see people find and connect with our eclectic exhibits.

jennifer venkat: I took my family there on a cold rainy day for something to do because we saw all the good reviews and thought we'd give it a chance. We weren't very impressed. My 10 year old son wanted to leave after about 10 minutes. In my opinion, it was just a bunch of junk and ugly decorating in cramped spaces. There were some secret doors that we saw others walk through so that kind of spoiled it for us. Apparently most of the secret doors are small and cubby-like. We didn't find any of those and so many things say to not touch it. The walls are filled with pictures but they tell you there are no secret doors behind the pictures. So I don't know where they are but we didn't feel inspired enough to seriously look for them either. My kid just wanted to leave and so we left and had more fun walking in the rain.
Response: We are sorry to hear that you weren't able to enjoy yourself when you visited — we know it can be disappointing when you don’t find as many doors as you had hoped (honestly finding 2 or 3 is GREAT! They are well hidden!) In addition to our secret doors we have many wonderful artifacts and immersive exhibits including the Pop Culture room, Chucky's room, the Log Cabin, Miss USA's crown, Allyson Felix's Olympic running spike, NASA artifacts, rare photographs of The Beatles, Janis Joplin, and Johnny Cash to name a few, movie memorabilia, art, sculpture, and over 70 signed guitars to see. It's so sad to hear you missed them - they are really fun!! We are a volunteer-run, non-profit, sustained primarily by donations. When you visit the O Museum in The Mansion you provide critical support for our arts and social justice programs. We hope you find solace in knowing that your visit helped to support the community.

Olha Maslova: Fun experience! Found 10 hidden doors. Recommend visiting unless you absolutely hate cluttered spaces. Some rooms felt especially cluttered and smelled like a super old house. Agree with someone else's review that this is a well organized hoarder house.
Response: We are so glad you enjoyed the experience! We DO we have a LOT of things to look at and that makes us so happy — because the majority of what you see has been donated by our neighbors, friends, and members who open their hearts and give us things to sell in support of our education and self-empowerment programs that drive civic responsibility and heal the soul through music and storytelling.

The Mayflower Hotel, Autograph Collection: what do users think?

Alok Sinha: Had a wonderful stay here for 6 days. The room was big and clean. The staff were friendly throughout the stay. The doormen were very nice always quickly chatting with us and opening the doors for us. There was coffee and tea available for free every morning which was a big plus. The main advantage to this hotel is how central to the city it is. It is only a few minutes walk to the white house and also several great restaurants. It is on the same block as a red line train station which made it super easy to get around the city. Would highly recommend staying here it you are in Washington D.C and want to easily take public transportation to all the landmarks of the city.
Response: Dear Alok Sinha, A wonderful stay; thank you! Your kind words are truly appreciated and I will be sure to share your comments with the rest of the team. We hope to welcome you back again soon. Sincerely, Shelly DiMeglio General Manager shelly.dimeglio@marriott.com

Christine: It’s the last night of my week long stay at the Mayflower Hotel & it is by far the most immaculate, comfortable yet not sterile space loaded with amenities & hospitality driven employees. Beautiful, rich feeling, spacious rooms… with great water pressure. I upgraded on Friday night & saved $10/night to have a 3 room “suite” so make sure you are getting those weekend savings! Please take care of your bellhops, door men, bartenders, all of the good people with tips large or small proving it’s the appreciation that truly matters and in return they go out of their way to make sure you feel like your a rockstar. Good food, rather small selection at restaurant/bar, but it gets a bit pricey & so does parking.
Response: Dear Christine, Thank you for taking the time to post about your visit to The Mayflower Hotel. Your kind words regarding your visit are appreciated and we hope to welcome you back again soon. Sincerely, Shelly DiMeglio General Manager Shelly.dimeglio@marriott.com

Ukvayat Hanak: A building infused with elegance and beauty that captivates and relaxes the weary traveler. Service was polite and helpful every time. The beds comfy, temperature controls great, and rooms spacious for a crowded DC area. Only had two issues: an excessive amount of pubic hair left uncleaned behind the toilet area and some of the furniture/carpet needed a good cleaning to bring it to tip top shape. Everything else was outstanding.
Response: Dear Ukvayat Hanak, Outstanding; thank you! Your kind words regarding your recent visit are truly appreciated as are your comments regarding some of the inconsistencies you experienced with housekeeping. I will be sure to share your feedback with the team and do hope we can welcome you back again in the future. Sincerely, Shelly DiMeglio General Manager shelly.dimeglio@marriott.com

Anne Marie Smith: The Mayflower is a beautiful hotel. The room was not large, but it was very comfortable, with one exception. The desk chair was very low and had a cushion that sank you even lower. If I had needed to do a lot of computer work, I would have had to request a different chair. As it was, I was in a meeting all day so it was workable. The thing I liked the best was the ability to control the fan. I am a light sleeper so it was wonderful to be able to turn the fan to stay on continuously instead of having the on and off that you get with an auto setting. I was not bothered by noise at all...a big win.
Response: Dear Anne Marie, Thank you for taking the time to post about your visit to out hotel. While I was pleased to read that overall, you found your accommodations to be comfortable, I do apologize if the initial desk chair was not conducive to working in your room. I do hope we are able to welcome you back again soon! Sincerely, Shelly DiMeglio General Manager Shelly.dimeglio@marriott.com

Hampus Engstroem: Definitely enjoyed my stay at this hotel, definitely high-end and the service was excellent! The only criticism I have was during the first night I was in a room that had an AC duct right outside the window going up the wall, it was so loud that it sounded as if there was a jet engine sitting right outside my window. Barely slept that first night. The next day I talked to the front desk about it and they promptly switched me to a new room without any issue. Definitely top tier service!
Response: Thank you for taking the time to post about your recent visit. While I was disappointed to read that you had a restless first night, I am so glad that our front desk team was able to assist to ultimately make your stay a comfortable one! I look forward to welcoming you back again soon. Sincerely, Shelly DiMeglio General Manager Shelly.dimeglio@marriott.com

Patricia Burleson: I've never experienced better service at any hotel anywhere, and I wasn't even staying, I was just visiting someone staying there. The Doorman and Valet were exceptionally helpful, and they wanted no monetary reward for their kindness. The location felt safe and it was clean. Amazing to find these days!
Response: Thank you for the kind words!

Andrew Erbes: Check-in was pleasant and Caesar who helped us in from the curb was delightfully friendly. Lady working the front desk was pretty nice, but advised us of the situation with room service and receiving food. There isn't any. Also there is no one to bring you food if you order out. She did say that if we insist, they would arrange for someone to bring food up that we ordered out. I did order out and because I am currently walking with a cane in our room was a good distance from the lobby, I asked that the front desk either allow the driver to bring the food up or send it up. The gentleman I spoke with then told me with a great deal of attitude that they would make a one-time exception and that they typically don't do that. When the food arrived I called down to advise them. 15 minutes later it had still not come to the room so I hobbled down to get it. Of course it was cold by this point. Frustrating. In any case, the room was very nice but small. No coffee maker in room. A small fridge but no stocked mini bar. RV was of the trash cans in the alley but the natural light coming through the windows which had a nice shade system was enjoyable. Bathroom was excellent. Large closet space as well. We really didn't need more than that. There was also a nice chaise lounge and a decent sized desk. You have to request maid service daily which I did not realize the first day but figured out for the second and third. I don't know if they changed the sheets but they did make the bed and brought fresh towels, as well as toiletries which was good enough. The in-house restaurant, Edgar, was very good for breakfast and with fast service. Rather expensive but that's DC for you. There was the occasional doorman but often times found ourselves opening the doors which wasn't a big deal unless we had our hands full. Other hotels of similar price and caliber do have full-time doormen. Location was phenomenal for access to virtually everything. I suppose that is one of the reasons that Harry Truman called it the second best address in Washington. Here's the bottom line though, while it is a nice hotel and most of the staff was friendly and generally helpful when necessary, service is not a standout. I realize a lot of properties have used and are using covid as a way and excuse to curtail traditional services, but this is frustrating. It bears mentioning that the public spaces in the hotel are beautiful but the businesses on the ground floor except for Edgar seem to be closed or not open regular hours. I suppose my sign off is this; it is a very beautiful and historic hotel with charms all its own, but for the price point, the lack of service is frustrating, and I am not surprised that they have lost their Forbes 4 star rating, though they do maintain their four diamond rating through AAA. The latter rain however is quite dated and I would not be surprised if that is reevaluated in the near future. Having stayed at the Mandarin Oriental which is probably twice as expensive and the Watergate which is marginally more expensive on my two other most recent trips, I can say with certainty that while I would definitely return to those two, a return to the Mayflower is not at the top of my list.
Response: Dear Andrew Erbes, I appreciate you taking the time to post about your recent visit. While I was pleased to read that you received friendly service upon check-in and that you found your room to be well-appointed, I would like to apologize for some of the inconsistencies you experienced during your stay. I will be sure to share your frustrations regarding having outside food delivered to your guest room with the front office team and will follow up with our door team to ensure that there is always coverage as that is a full time role at the hotel. Should you like to discuss any of your feedback in further detail, I can be reached at the contact information below. Sincerely, Shelly DiMeglio General Manager shelly.dimeglio@marriott.com

Zaffer Basith: This is a nice clean hotel. Staff is very friendly and the breakfast was pretty good. But, you have to pay for parking and breakfast. It's a bit pricey, but if you have an event at the hotel, it's nice to stay at. I'd consider coming back.

Tasneem Jama: I would have to say one of the best hotels I have ever stayed in. From the beginning of check in, the room that was originally assigned to me had an issue with flickering lights. The reception immediately checked to see if there was another room and switch me out to another no questions asked. The bedding is so comfortable, all I wanted to do was sleep in all day. Housekeeping were very friendly and cleaned very thoroughly. The location was fantastic, it was close to everything, sometimes even walking distance. They provide complimentary coffee and tea in the mornings in front of the lobby until 10:30am and as a coffee addict, it was good enough to drink as the first cup of coffee. Connected to the hotel, is this little all day breakfast that serves amazing breakfast. I would definitely not hesitate to book Mayflower!!!

Charlie Edwards: Would recommend. Stayed here two nights for a work convention held in the meeting rooms of the hotel. Nice room, spacious, up-to-date and well maintained fixtures and decor. The meeting rooms were good for our convention of maybe 200-300 people.
Response: We are glad that you enjoyed your visit!

United States National Arboretum: what do users think?

Eduardo Moser: We visited during cherry blossom days. They have a great variety of cherry trees and magnolias. It is a complement to know different cherry blossoms from those of the Tidal Basin. There is no proper public transportation, so the place is fairly free of tourists. We came to this place by car on the recommendation of a friend who lives in DC. The Bonsai collection is amazing. There is much to walk and explore. On a plain they have mounted the original columns of the Capitol. Bring some snacks and drinks, because there is no service in the place. Access and parking is free.

Laurie Zabala: Beautiful landscaping. Very tranquil & relaxing walk through the extensive herb garden. The Bonsai museum is a must. Great place for a picnic. The National columns are stunning. Entrance is free. Be sure to use the restroom at the visitor center when you first arrive because you'll do alot of walking & that's the only restroom on the grounds. Bring a water bottle & snacks as there is no restaurant on site. Definitely a treasure that's worth the trek to the east edge of DC.

Marty Shaw, Author, RCA, BCMA: Great experience! Just go! I was there in early spring and the colors were amazing. So many different specimens of plant material I never see commercially. They have an amazing assortment of unique things you won't find anywhere else. It was a real treat.

Da-Wang Wu: We came here in late April, and the Azalea blossoming was pretty amazing! Walking on the trail with the Azalea blossoming along the way was very nice. Parking inside the park can be tricky, so we parked in the lot right next to the entrance and walked 5-10 minutes to the main campus. Overall, it’s a beautiful place, and I would definitely come back.

CJ: Depending on when you visit the US National Arboretum, something different is peaking. In mid April, the fruit trees were just past peak, but the lilacs shrubs were close to full bloom. As I strolled thru the lilac grove, the soft lilac fragrance permeated the air. One of the US National Arboretum’s most prominent and a little puzzling landmarks is the old Corinthian National Capitol Columns residing on the Ellipse Meadow. The US National Arboretum was not the column’s intended home when they were quarried back in the early 1800s. Originally, the columns were built as a part of the east portico of the US Capitol Building now located about 3 miles away from the US National Arboretum. By the 1860s, when the dome of the Capitol was completed, the columns were deemed inadequate to support the new dome. It wouldn’t be until the mid 1980s before the columns would find their final home at the US National Arboretum. Twenty-two of the original 24 columns are on majestic display in Ellipse Meadow. During our trip to the US National Arboretum in mid April, the Azaleas were just starting to bud and bloom. So no good pictures this trip. Peak time for the Azalea garden at the arboretum is late April. I hear the Azaleas are a beautiful sight when the hillside is painted with splotches of different colors.

Omar Abu-sabha: It is a great place to walk and enjoy the area's vegetation. The Japanese and Chinese pavilions are very interesting, although they are closed in winter. The old columns of the capitol are without a doubt a must if you like photography.

Melissa B: Despite living in the DC area for over 30 years, I had never been here. What an oversight! The National Arboretum is beautiful and interesting. Everyone there, staff and visitors, were very friendly. I'll be bak again.

Karthikeyan Rajaram: Luck is when you run into a beautiful place like this without planning. Better luck is when you get into it in the company of a person who used to volunteer at this place. We didn’t really plan to be at the arboretum, considering that the Spring is still not Springy enough. We had seen enough of Cherry Blossoms in the Tidal basin area that we thought we could do something else. We just made it to this place on recommendation from one of our relatives, who also accompanied us. Since he was a volunteer here, he helped us navigate and gave us so much insights about the different kinds of plants, flowers, bonsais and the what the lovely people who work here, do. We drove around this place and still got to see more cherry blossoms, along with different other species of flora. The enchanting Bonsai museum is a must visit as it did take our breathes away. The old columns of the capitol and the grove of different state trees are some of the special features of this place. The flowers were not in full blossom and we definitely look forward to checking this place again in summer.

Logan Heilman: Visited for the Bonsai event they were having and had a blast. All the vendors were great and the museums bonsai and penjing exhibit was phenomenal. Will definitely be back.

Elisabeth “Beth” Ostrander: We only had about an hour and headed to the bonsai area. Wow! To see living gifts from Japan and China that were started and cared for since before the birth of our nation was truly outstanding. Befitting our National Arboretum! Will return to see more treasures!

Hilton Garden Inn Washington DC/U.S. Capitol: what do users think?

Matthew Hall: Really liked this hotel. Staff was great and the room was better than average. I appreciate the barkeep who was very professional and kept me entertained while we sat and had a cocktail. Rose was very attentive and made our check-in process easy. Valet was very spotty with the service, maybe they need more than 1 person certain times a day. The hot tub wasn't working when we arrived but was up and running before I left. Pool was a little cold but refreshing. I will definitely be staying again. This is the ideal location for those visiting DC.

Siobhan Walker: My stay was amazing. My room was spacious and so clean. The front desk was polite, helpful and very professional. Octavia was awesome. She was most helpful because the hotel I had a current reservation for had canceled my reservation and I had to make a reservation here last minute. She provided me the most outstanding customer service possible even with my frustration from the other hotel. Any questions I had was answered and my stay was relaxing. I definitely recommend this hotel to anyone.

g watson: Customer service here is EXCELLENT. Very friendly staff - extra praise to the office manager, Reina Munoz and guest agent Janay! Hilton - you should recognize this location and their staff, they go above and beyond their call to make guests feel welcomed and comfortable. All hotel/hospitality should take this location as the example for service. The rooms are clean, and quite comfortable and roomy - this hotel is conveniently located, just a short walk from Union Station. I was here for business and I was delightfully surprised for the work space and seating area. I was also happy to learn their fitness center is open 24hrs...with my stay being business in nature - it is difficult for me to get a work out in at most places, due to the limited hours fitness centers are available. 100% recommend the US CAPITOL location. If you want to feel welcomed and comfortable, stay here!

Angela Baca: The air conditioning in our room never worked even after they had someone come and fix it. The elevator stopped on every floor. The pool was available but it was foggy and couldn’t see the bottom of the pool because of this. Burned my kids eyes and mine. This hotel is older and not maintained well by Hilton. There are no fans in the bathroom so if you take a hot shower your whole hotel room fills with steam. The people are nice and it is located near a metro. Those are the only two things that are good about this hotel. Only stay here unless you just can’t find anywhere else to stay.
Response: Hi Angela Baca - We are sorry we did not live up to our high standards of exceeding expectations. Thanks for taking the time to provide your candid feedback regarding your experience with Hilton Garden Inn Washington DC/U.S. Capitol. Please reach out to us at https://help.hilton.com/s/contactsupport so that we can investigate further and make this right.

Natalie Martin: The staff was nice and did what they could, but the hotel was overwhelmed and not well maintained. It is unequipped to have more than 1-2 guests arriving or departing at the same time. It also has intentionally inadequate air conditioning. I have stayed at Hiltons in other cities that also have valet only parking. They’ve all had a driveway to pull in and unload your vehicle. This one has only a small shoulder that a maximum of 2 cars can pull into. Everyone else has to just stop in the middle of a busy street. There were no luggage carts when we arrived, left or had to move rooms on the second night. Other guests also told us that there were no luggage carts when they arrived. On the first night the room was consistently hot though we could hear the AC cut on and off. After coming to look at it twice, the maintenance man determined that the compressor in our room was broken so we were moved to a new room (again no luggage cart, we had a lot of stuff as we were traveling with a toddler). The maintenance man explained that the AC units are motion activated so guests will always return to a hot room and it will always get hot in the middle of the night so that’s why it took him so long to figure out that ours was actually broken. This seems incredibly stingy for a Hilton (in addition to being illogical as it takes more energy to cool a hot room than it does to simply maintain temperature). Stay here only if you are a single traveler with one suitcase and don’t mind an 80 degree room overnight and when you return after being out of the room. Other reviews mention how slow the elevator is, that is also true.
Response: Hi Natalie Martin - We are sorry we did not live up to our high standards of exceeding expectations. Thanks for taking the time to provide your candid feedback regarding your experience with our service and amenities. Please reach out to us at https://help.hilton.com/s/contactsupport so that we can look into this further. We look forward to making things right.

Geoffrey D: Parking valet lane is terribly short. Stains on the comforter. Breakfast included not properly advertised on elevator or through hotel. Laid out of first floor is very awkward, why have steps instead of escalator to second floor. Front desk staff were superb. All throughout the stay they were informative, helpful, positive and available! Wait for valet was not long at all, which was surprising. Minor issues, overall decent stay.

David: Very nice hotel - staff were very friendly and attentive to our needs. The Manager greeted us as we were leaving and just make the stay complete. Nice pool and restaurant - special call out Kevon our waiter for one of our evening meals. Great place to stay - close to a metro stop as well.

Chippy McLain: Guest services here should be renamed "guest hassles." Checking in and checking out were lengthy, frustrating ordeals. Paid valet parking was ineffective, slow, and overpriced--and apparently the only option. Showers were inconsistent, with cold winning two out of the three mornings we stayed. One of the two elevators was broken leading to overstuffed rides with no option of social distancing as well as long delays in the lobby. The spa had a new twist: a hot tub colder than the pool. I had hoped for a classy, Hilton experience for my family. I wish I had stayed at a Motel 6. I am thankful that I saw no rats inside the hotel. There were plenty just outside the front door; I assume due to the construction and vagrant tents across the street. This section of DC has some big rats. My littlest did think these were cool; my wife, not so much.

Sassy Sauce: The hotel is pretty decent. It met all of our basic needs. It was as clean as I think it should be but the rest of my party felt it was ok. Parking can be a little challenging in the area but we managed. The front desk staff were pleasant and very helpful. I would go back if I needed to.

J Cole: Great hotel. It is a very short walk to the Metro Red Train No Ma Stop to get anywhere in DC for just a 2 dollar fare on the weekends. The area also has a great brewery "red bear brewing company" which is very close by. The hotel also has a bar that looked pretty nice. The breakfast is hit or miss for me but it's as expected for other Hilton Garden Inns.

The Ritz-Carlton Georgetown, Washington, D.C.: what do users think?

Jessica Leifer: Disappointing. Can hear the highway from the room, and they supposedly didn’t have any other rooms to offer us. Definitely not worth the price. Rooms should be soundproofed better. Mediocre— nice Marriott at best. Probably could have spent $200 less and stayed at a hotel just as nice, and way quieter. The lobby is adorable and homey feeling. Service was great. Location is great.

Alyssa Glorioso: I had the pleasure of working with the director of catering, Liliana Klein, on a gorgeous wedding this past weekend. I was the couple's planner and was thrilled to be able to produce a wedding at Ritz Carlton Georgetown. Throughout the process, Liliana was the consummate professional: warm and welcoming, communicative, addressed any and all questions, followed up after any meetings promptly, and on the day was FANTASTIC to work with. I could tell it was a high priority of Liliana to go above and beyond for the couple in making their wedding weekend a dream experience for them and an effortless celebration for their guests. Would work here for every wedding if I could! Plus, gatherings of 70-90 are my favorite!! Thank you, Liliana and RC staff.

Clarence Reber III: Easily one of the nicest hotels I've stayed at in the US. It was our third different Ritz-Carlton location, and it surpassed the other two in terms of service and feel. Let's start with the negatives: parking garage is on the opposite side of the same block and down a hill. So if you plan to self park, unload your stuff and family first (it was cheap though, so that's a plus). Also, there's plenty signs of wear on the furniture and trims in our suite. But honestly, we didn't care about any of that. We were greeted by three door men who escorted us to seats at the concierge, and then later to our suite. The concierge was extremely welcoming, upgrading our room and offering late checkout without us having to say a thing. The complimentary glasses of champagne are a really nice touch. The suite was gigantic and I really didn't want to leave. Bed was super comfortable, the tub was awesome, and the shower was huge. The bathroom was also very large with a separate toilet/bidet station. Oh, and the extra powder room was nice. Room service brought breakfast at the exact minute it was requested, and it was really good. Cutest little bottle of hot sauce, too. I understand that I'm glowing about this space largely due to the upgraded suite, and that I'll never get that again, but I seriously cannot wait to visit here again.

Patty Arvielo: I'm sorry but hope that my review helps when making a decision on what hotel to book. This is a 3 star hotel at best, it appears as though it is a Marriott not a Ritz Carlton. For a better choice book the Four Seasons Georgetown. I have an Exec Suite , the furniture is stained and old, the mini bar has absolutely nothing in it. Just not a 5 star hotel.

Alice Greenberg: I absolutely loved my stay here! The service was amazing the entire time! I stayed in one of the "Wellness rooms" and really loved being down the hall from the spa as that was my primary reason for staying. If you're not going to the spa I'm not sure it's worth the upgrade but my room was very comfortable. I was advised at check-in that the wellness rooms were closer to construction on a neighboring building but the noise was minimal and didn't bother me at all. The food was expensive but high quality and generously portioned.

Sean C: For a high end hotel, the rooms were old, not well maintained, and very underwhelming. We were super disappointed when we got into our room. It was mediocre at best. It looks like what you would expect at one of the lower end Marriott properties, but not a Ritz. The shower is super small, the toilet is very low to the ground and uncomfortable. The bathtub was dirty, the towels were small, thin and not soft at all. The wallpaper also has stains in a number of places. The lobby of the hotel is nice and the location is good. There are two wings in the hotel and our room was in the West, so I don’t know if this is an older part of the hotel or not, but it could use major renovations for us to want to come back again.

Toni Dzinic: My wife and I had our wedding at the Ritz in their Fahrenheit Ballroom, and what a beautiful night it was! We had ~60 guests and that is about the most people I’d personally recommend for the ballroom. Liliana Klein is the person to talk to when you want to plan a wedding there and she’s such a pleasure to work with. She walked us through everything from day 1. The food was excellent, the preferred vendors were also a joy to work with. Seriously, I’ve never experienced better service at a hotel. If you’re considering having your wedding here, do it! If you’re coming here for a night or two, or just to enjoy some dinner and cocktails, you also won’t regret it. We’ll be back!

Kimpton Hotel Monaco Washington DC: what do users think?

Hampus Engstroem: Make sure to use ʜoᴛᴇʟʙoʟʟʏ.ᴄᴏm when booking any hotel. This site will compare hundreds of booking websites and usually will have rooms much cheaper than others! Thank me later! This hotel is the best rated in this area. I've been coming here for years. If you stay for a few nights you for sure won't be let down. Friendly, attentive staff, spacious lobby and guest rooms with funky meets traditional furnishings, soaring ceilings, and comfy beds. Perfect location for Smithsonian and within walking distance to the Tidal Basin/cherry blossoms. We felt very safe walking around. Complimentary coffee in the mornings and wine in the evenings - a nice touch. Several very good restaurants within a few steps from the hotel in every direction, including a lively restaurant/bar with outdoor seating in the hotel’s own courtyard. We’re hoping to make this an annual trip!

Shining Starzz: I’ve stayed in hotels all around the world and this is my favorite. Front staff was friendly and sociable. Check-in was easy. Free happy hour in the evening. High vault ceilings in the rooms, which are well decorated. Large full mirror in the rooms and little things like the jewelry box, umbrella, yoga mat, exotic animal print robes and natural soap make a big difference. Only disappointment was the view from my window.

Susan Payne: Friendly, attentive staff, spacious lobby and guest rooms with funky meets traditional furnishings, soaring ceilings, and comfy beds.

Ray Bentley: This was the WORST experience of my life. When I arrived my room was not prepared at 3pm on a Saturday! We ended up not being able to change and we’re late to an engagement. I asked the staff when and why our rooms were not ready and they gave us no timeline until I asked for the third time. Upon asking the front desk attendant was extremely rude when I really tried to be overly nice about the situation. Upon my room being prepared they didn’t apologize and might as well have just thrown my hotel card keys at me. When I asked what they could do to accommodate the issues we experienced, she said nothing. They finally gave us fifty dollars credit to a restaurant at the hotel. When we went to check out they also tried charging us for the fifty dollars we used at the restaurant and basically called me a liar until I explained how terrible of a stay I had. Going further our rooms were not cleaned the entire weekend and they blamed it on staffing and Covid issues. They did not adjust our price even though we booked through American Express travel. The worst part of all of this was the fire alarm that went off at 2am requiring the entire hotel to exit. They chose to rent out there lounge on the roof that evening to a 21st birthday party in which someone pulled the fire alarm. This place is a frat house not a hotel. It’s very disappointing because the furniture and ambiance of the space was great. A manager was supposed to call me after I checked out and I have received nothing of the kind. Worst stay I’ve ever had in a hotel and I travel for work all the time. Location and hotel furniture fixtures plus, everything else was absolutely terrible. Disappointing. Zero stars if I could.

Stephani Rodriguez: Beautiful unique hotel with a rich history. The staff was absolutely amazing! My room didn't have a microwave and my food spoiled because I didn't realize the fridge didn't work. They should also stock washcloths in the room. The night cap service was awesome and I cant stress enough how amazing everyone on staff was inside and out!

Chad Rea: Stayed here 4 nights for a work conference and must say it was disappointing for a luxury branded IHG/Kimpton property. The hotel absolutely has some bold decor choices (which I kind of enjoyed) with the furniture and wallpaper. Rooms - I stayed in room 218, the bed was too soft for my liking, and the pillows were not great quality. The room also had an unusual smell which I could not identify. The weather was in the low 30s during my stay, and the thermostat would not go above 65 no matter high I set the heater temperature (thankfully I like my rooms cold). The restaurant "Dirty Habit" was really good, the charcoal bun burger was phenomenal. The location is perfect, I was across the street from the Wizards arena, and within walking distance of a ton of great restaurants and all of the smithsonian museums. Big Plus! And I must shout out the exceptional service. The staff was excellent, front desk was helpful and check-in was a breeze. Waiting staff during the provided conference meals were very attentive. The bellmen were also friendly and accommodating. Daily housekeeping was great. And the complimentary wine (in evening) and coffee (in the morning) in the lobby was a nice touch. Overall, solid hotel, great staff, but desperately in need of a makeover.

Matthew Radomski: The service was fantastic. We were welcomed by Belinda at the front desk when we checked in. There was a small error with our reservation (used a 3rd party app) and it took them maybe 2-3 minutes to fix the error. Belinda and another gentleman at the front desk went out of their way to make upgraded accommodations for us, and ensure we had a great time. Throughout our entire stay, we were greeted by name and asked how everything was. I could not have asked for better service.

K Mroz: My husband and i stayed here for 2 nights for our anniversary weekend. Kimpton properties are usually our favorite, but this was very disappointing for a luxury branded Kimpton property. The hotel felt/sounded like a frat house. We stayed in room 243, so we could here the commotion outside from the Dirty Habits restaurant; and up until 2am, there were loud, drunk party goers(im guessing from an event) in the hallway. The pillows and bed were not comfortable at all. My body was so achy from sleeping on them all weekend. Our refrigerator was broken, and there wasn't even a bottle of water in the room(had to buy it) . For the nightly cost of that weekend(apparently a big event weekend-we didn't know), the amenities were disappointing. Though we loved Kimpton in the past, this was a turn off and we won't stay at this particular one again. I'll leave it for the 20 something crowd. The redeeming quality is, the excellent, front desk staff. They were very pleasant and friendly

Vicente Cuevas: Recently stayed 5 nights at this hotel and wanted to share some feedback, both pros and cons. My stay included an upgrade, or "upsell" to the Premium Monte Carlo room. Good: Great location, phenomenal decor, friendly staff, "Dirty Habit" restaurant inside the hotel, very close to DCA airport and for being an old property, the plumbing was very good. The toilets (both in room and public) flush very loud and with similar strength to that of airplane toilets, I was impressed by this lol. Pros: Extremely expensive and I regret the upgrade. The room was beautiful... Again, my hats off to the decor. However... Bed and pillows were not comfortable at all (bedding and pillows felt very cheap and used), the room always felt warm (AC vaguely flowed in master bedroom but never in living room portion of the suite), the door that separates living from bedroom never fully closed, both TVs had HORRIBLE signal and one can barely turn on, and no microwave or coffee maker inside the suite. If I'm going to pay the money this hotel charges per night, I want amenities, a bed that feels more comfortable than the one in my own home, and TVs that actually work. It doesn't even include a simple breakfast. In conclusion, I was a little disheartened with what the room itself delivered. I felt like it absolutely was NOT worth the fortune and taxes they charged to get a room that looks very appealing to the eye, but in "practice" just didn't work. This last comment is more of an observation. I only noticed one entrance to the entire property. It's a set of stairs that lead from the sidewalk to the entrance door of the lobby (which is on the 2nd floor). Unless there is a bellman available to help with bags, you are on your own. I didn't notice any ramps for those with accessibility needs just to enter lobby of the hotel but again could be wrong.

Jeremy: Unless you have a written guarantee that you will NOT be in a basement room, don’t stay here. The basement rooms are musty and provide a view of the sidewalk and garbage cans. Staff were less than helpful as I watched guests who arrived after me get checked in. All of this well past the posted 3:00pm check-in time.

Hyatt Place Washington Dc/National Mall: what do users think?

Derek Kruger: Remember to use ʜoᴛᴇʟʙoʟʟʏ.ᴄᴏm when booking a resort. This web site will compare thousands of hotel sites and normally will have rooms much cheaper compared to others! Thank me later! This place is one of my favorites in the area. I've been staying here for a very long time. If you stay for a few nights you definitely won't regret it. Convenient location, fairly close to the Smithsonian museums and national mall. The 2 queen bed (and sofa bed) room is perfect for families. Service is fast and friendly. Breakfast is a bit basic but is included in your room fee which is a major plus. Most of the unique amenities are closed in the cooler seasons and parking is a little pricey ($50/day) but otherwise it is a well equipped hotel.

Ryan Yturriaga: Pros: Great clean rooms, access to the national mall, relatively a good part of the neighborhood. Room service everyday. The swimming pool is a little small for the building, and no matter how hot it gets (summer) the water is ice-cold. The room service staff are friendly and very accommodating. Cons: (why the 2 stars) - it a hit or miss with the staffing. Their breakfast times are 6AM-9AM so really short compared to other chain hotels. If you are from the west coast, chances are you will miss the breakfast. Here's the kicker, the waitress literally swipe the food in front of us at 0905AM - instead of closing off the section, we are left just scrambling to get whatever we can get thanks to that very admirable waitress. (05-31-2022 - mornings) It left a really bad taste for the 4 people left on the line without consideration at all. I save about $50.00 a night from Embassy Suites, but this kind of service is not worth it. Consider somewhere else.

Nichole Raybould: The staff is the most UNFRIENDLY I have ever experienced at a hotel. We booked and prepaid for 3 nights through a 3rd party and I called the hotel the day before we were to check in to verify we were confirmed with our room as were to drive 6+ hours the following day. It took 2 people on the phone and 45 minutes to "find" my reservation in their system even though we had prepaid for the room in order to get a cheaper rate. Finally they found it and said I was good to go. Great. We arrive the next day to check in and AGAIN, they cannot find my reservation. It took 2 people and ANOTHER 45 minutes to "find" our reservation in their system. They were incredibly unfriendly about it too. Almost like they were waiting for us to get fed up and leave. Finally, magically, it appeared and we're good to go again. With 1 night left in our stay we get a phone call from the front desk saying that we were supposed to only stay 2 nights. We inform them, no, we paid for 3 nights. It says right here on our confirmation and when we checked in we confirmed it was 3 nights. They threatened to call the police on us because we told them we would not check out early. They put my husband on hold and never came back on. So in the meantime, I called the 3rd party company we booked it through and asked them to contact the hotel and confirm that yes, indeed, we paid for 3 nights. My husband got tired of sitting on hold and went downstairs to the front desk to confront them in person. By the time he got down there it was all "magically" fixed. No apology. No accommodation, nothing. SO RUDE. I'm being gracious in giving them 1 star but only because the room itself was fine and the free breakfast was good. But we will never stay here again. I have never had a worse experience with a hotel.

Kurt Martin: I get that everyone has a hard time hiring good people lately. This place is certainly no exception. That's not to say that some people were great, but we had too many bad experiences. First off, the air conditioner didn't work properly. Of course, they have motion sensors that turn off the system when no one is in the room. But ours didn't work until you turned it off and then back on again. So we would do this when we went to bed, but then around 1AM, we would wake up because it was too hot in the room (usually 78 degrees). So I would get up and turn the system off, then back on again. And eventually the room would cool enough to go back to sleep. Then it happened again at 4 am with 78 degree temps in the room. I reported it to the front desk, and nothing was ever fixed. We went to their breakfast the first morning. That was it. The food wasn't good. More than that were the incredibly rude women working there. We were standing in line, and a door flew open (I assume it led to the kitchen) and hit my wife on the wrist (hard enough to cause a small bruise). Instead of the woman apologizing to my wife for whacking her wrist, she screamed out to everyone, "Don't stand in front of this door. We have to go in and out all morning long, so if you don't want to get hurt, leave a path!" There we other rude encounters, just not as egregious as this one. We will never stay there again.

Gen Bowerbank: The breakfast was great, staff very friendly, and the valet parking was helpful and quick service. The rooms were clean, and we all sleep well in the soft beds. However we had a loud AC in our room. I don't think each room has one, but in the middle of the night when it would kick on, about each hour it would wake up the light sleepers of our room.

Keith Wunsch: Convenient location, fairly close to the Smithsonian museums and national mall.

Jennifer Jordan: The hotel elevator floors were dirty and not well maintained. The elevator buttons were barely attached to call an elevator on the lobby level. There were letters missing on the wall of the lobby level. The room was decent but the walls were marked up and the bathroom left a lot to be desired. The towel rack in our bathroom was rusted badly and the tub did not drain well. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone I know. There is a reason why they do not show pictures of the bathroom when booking.

Kevin McKay: I think I may have caught this hotel on a bad night in a bad situation, but I was not happy with my stay. There were plenty of issues I had, which I'll list here as well, but my main issue is I had a hotel maintenance worker LET HIMSELF INTO OUR ROOM WHILE MY GIRLFRIEND AND I WERE IN THERE. He did not knock, he opened the door and said hello, which startled both my girlfriend and I. He had said the there was a water leak on the floor below and he was checking if it was our room. I get that he needs to do his job but he should have knocked, not let himself in and when I responded walk right into my room. When I paid for this room I paid for privacy, and I expect that. I angrily called the front desk, where the manager was very helpful and apologetic, and offered to comp whatever was on the menu......until I found out it was the kitchen that flooded below us, so I couldn't get any food and had to leave the hotel to do so. So all I got for that issue was a couple rounds of free drinks, which in my opinion did not do enough to satisfy my anger at the situation. Among that little fiasco, other issues I experienced were that to get ice, I had ti go up 2 floors (i was on the 3rd), and only found this out after searching for 20 min and asking a hotel worker. Also, I was not told ahead of time that parking was valet only and overnight parking is $50 (should have expected it, being dc, but why not list it here since I'm listing all my issues with this place. Also, whoever had the floor above us was making so much noise banging on the floor (our ceiling) that it woke my girlfriend and I up the following morning. Finally, I was unhappy with the continental breakfest (I know, I'm complaining about something free here, but still) Their kitchen must have still been closed because all there was was bagels, cereal, and coffee. Like I said, maybe I caught this place on a bad night, but I don't think I'll be returning here if I have to stay in D C again.

Jazmín Romero: We stayed for one night and that was enough to know how things work here. The attention from the front desk staff was very good, no complaints about that. But: First of all, the elevators are pretty slow, it takes about 5 minutes to get into one. The air conditioner in our room made a lot of noise and it wasn’t fun to listen to. At around 9 a.m. the cleaning lady knocked at our door because she wanted to clean up already. It was a bit of a bother because we had just woken up, were still in bed and had barely gotten prepared for breakfast. She said that she had on her list that we would be doing the regular 12 noon checkout and not the later 2 pm checkout (we had told the staff at the front desk that we would do the 2 pm checkout since we have Hyatt Discoverist status which allows this). For breakfast there were no trays to put our plates on. They offered different sizes of plates and glasses/ cups, but I guess they think we have 6 hands to hold everything. It’s inefficient to make more than one trip to get the food. We decided to eat something in the afternoon before we left. The waiter took our order. He then said that my chicken sandwich would last longer that normal to come out (about 20 minutes. It ended up being a whole HOUR. He did not say anything about the time and we saw how the table next that arrived after us was finishing their food already. I am pretty disappointed. I hope they can get better.

Mr. Carl Davis: We stayed at this location the entire week and totally enjoyed everything. The room was spacious and we had a decent view from the 6th floor. We were centrally located to the National Mall and walking distance to CVS and the local grocery and other attractions... The staff while being very busy at times was professional and very nice on all levels. The breakfast was great and had a variety and a good selection of food... Not sure why someone said breakfast cost them extra because nothing was added extra for us on our bill. Neither were we disturbed by the fire station located around the corner of the hotel... We had a great stay....Thumbs 👍.

JW Marriott Washington, DC: what do users think?

C R**d: Great stay! Very relaxing and comfortable environment with very friendly staff. It didn't matter if I was having breakfast, enjoying a drink at the bar, or walking out... Everybody was super friendly and helpful. Would stay again without hesitation. I had the added bonus of being able to see both the Washington Monument and the Lincoln Memorial from my room. Even saw the President's motorcade leaving for him to address the Senate. Awesome!

Casey Garber: Stayed for 5 nights 5/23/2022-5/28/2022 and it was excellent. We had a standard double room. Beds comfortable, plenty of outlets, large TV, very quiet. Room was spotless. We even had a nice view of the Washington Monument! The staff we encountered were all wonderful. We ordered room service one night and the food was very good and packaged well. The location cannot be beat! It's walking distance to just about everything depending on your stamina. By the end of the trip we were pretty tired. Metro station is only about 2 blocks away. Smart elevators were nice! Highly recommend staying here. My family of 3 had a great time.

John Tucker: Great location. Very nice staff. I had a base room with two full-sized beds. Only concern was that my top sheet was not long enough to tuck in...literally got in bed, pulled the covers up to my chest and felt a rush of air come from the bottom of the bed. Why housekeeping made the bed that was is beyond me... and when I tried to tuck it in, it was too short at the top to even come within 2 or 3 feet of the top of the headboard. Nice room otherwise.

Abigail Campos: Stayed for four days at this property. Centrally located to DC and is near several metro stations. Beautiful property and prices are reasonable. As a Titanium Elite, perks were limited. Lounge was closed but they offered 750 bonus points per day or a $60 breakfast voucher for the inconvenience. Interaction with staff was minimal but they do recognize your status and are reachable via the Marriott Bonvoy app. We did attempt to get upgraded but we're not successful. The room itself was a standard King and was beautifully designed.

Annette Tatum: Beautiful hotel, walking distance to all the monuments and the White House. Do not waste your money on a rental car because its easier to walk and not have to worry about parking. Excellent location and staff, will recommend giving this place a try when in Washington, DC.

Hampus Engstroem: Remember to use ʜoᴛᴇʟʙoʟʟʏ.ᴄᴏm when booking a stay. They compare hundreds of booking websites and usually will have prices a lot cheaper compared to others! Thank me later! This resort is one of the highest rated in the area. I've been staying here for a long time. If you choose this place you for sure won't be disappointed. Stayed for 5 nights 5/23/2022-5/28/2022 and it was excellent. We had a standard double room. Beds comfortable, plenty of outlets, large TV, very quiet. Room was spotless. Brenna Belletti: Really beautiful hotel. The rooms are small but beautifully decorated and clean. We had a lovely view from our room as well. Convenient Starbucks coffee located in the shop in the lobby. I would stay here again!

Nick Principe: Solid choice for near the White House. Close enough to metro, food, and bars. Valet was organized and competent, which is very appreciated. Staff were good... it was nice to get daily housekeeping again. The elevators are great - sounds stupid, but once you get it, you'll agree...

Asma Alavi: The hotel is neat, clean. And the staff is friendly. The room was spacious. There is a corner bakery right outside the hotel. The location is amazing. Just 5-10 mins walk to all the attractions. We loved our stay there

Nathan Viehland: For the price of the rooms the beds should actually be big enough for 2 people. I don't know why they put 2 double beds instead of queens in the room. Second off they are as hard a rock. I have been to less nicer hotels and they would have sleep numbers in every room. This hotel is a joke and don't recommend for vacation.

Washington Marriott at Metro Center: what do users think?

TC: Centrally located - near many of the city's attractions, and a good variety of restaurants within walking distance. The room was comfortable and the front desk was top notch. They even helped us out of a jam - due to our rush to check out we forgot that we had put some cash in the safe until we arrived at another city. Even though I fully expected never to see the money again, I called and they said they would handle it - a week later a check for the money arrived! Five stars just for that kind of honesty.

Jerome Mo: Hotel needs a little update. Service too. Coffee station in room came with one creamer serving and was not replenished! Room seems clean but again a bit behind for a Marriott. Sometimes I feel the lower brands like courtyard may even have better equipped rooms, without the fancy doorman who doesn't do much at all anyways. Hotel location isn't bad. Right off metro and three blocks from the mall.

Derek Kruger: Great location for this Marriott. The national mall, White House …. All within walking distance from this hotel. The restaurants within walking distance are great too. The staff were helpful from valet, front desk to bellhops. Even a Starbucks in here, even though we prefer Dunkin’ Donuts was still nice to have a “real” coffee shop in the hotel. We will definitely be staying here again. Tip- worth it to find your own parking garage. 1/3 the price

01carbin1: I worked at this property when I was in college. My wife and I were downtown so I decided to go down Memory Lane and stop in for dinner. The club sandwich was still on the menu and was as good as I remembered it. The friendly service and speed of delivery were appreciated....a tad bit inattentive after the food was delivered, but overall, it was a pleasant experience.

Anthony Hester: I'm ONLY giving a 2 because it has a bed. First it's in the worst location ever! Once I got to the front desk, the clerk was semi pleasant, but she kept trying to get me to order room service while I'm here. I told her I don't order room service, she told me I should start today!! I was floored after that. She really didn't care about giving me service just getting me to buy. There's only 2 elevators for 15 floors so needless to say it took forever to go 5 floors! Once I get to my room, it looked half clean. There was something green stuck in the sink. There were no cups for the in-room coffee or any plastic cups. It just didn't feel completely cleaned. I would never stay here again! My client must've thought this was a nice place, but not me!

Angela Thompson: Good hotel, great location. Right next to the metro. Also has capital bike share steps away. Doormen are awesome too! No room service though. And, no extras in the rooms either. No lotions, shower cap, pen and paper, etc. But, once again, location is pretty close to everything.

C James: This hotel is showing it's age. The lounge is closed (although the restaurant is open, so I don't believe the claim that this is due to the pandemic). Instead, as a valued Titanium member, they offered continental breakfast for two. There are three of us, so they won't even provide coffee and donuts to all of us. This is extremely disappointing. I plan to cancel the remaining nights of this reservation. I will not consider this property in the future.

Marco Sernicola: Very useful position close to the Metro Center Station. Large and comfortable room with 2 queen size beds inside. Clean, extra pillows, many towels and 2 small bottles of water... Unfortunately there was no fridge or free wifi facilities. The gym and a small Starbucks, inside the hotel, were very helpful.

Eteri Mach: Very disappointed in a few things: 1. Our room was never cleaned during the 4 days. 2. On the checkout day room service just kept knocking on the door in the morning, waking us up. I don’t understand why they cannot coordinate with the reception who checked out and who is still there. 3. There were provided no dressing gowns, disposable kits, or anything. When we called and asked for a razor, they told us to come downstairs and get it. Not very good service. 4. The duvet covers inside the sheets were soiled with brown spots. Otherwise it was clean, and the location was nice.

Carol Chung: Be prepared for insanely long waits for the elevator and your car ($54 valet parking only). Considering how long the wait is for the elevator, I would say this hotel is NOT handicap friendly. We would have to wait around twenty minutes every time we used the elevator. When we were there the first night, it was fully booked with only ONE elevator running. The next day they had 2 out of the 4 elevators running but still long enough wait that we would just walk from the 12th floor. The rooms are also outdated with popcorn ceiling and lots of stains. Would not recommend staying here!

Morrison House Old Town Alexandria, Autograph Collection: what do users think?

dave: I recently spent three nights here and was thoroughly impressed with the service. Everyone that I encountered from the front porch to first entering my room was polite and helpful. My room was in a corner, with a view toward Washington. It contained the appropriate amount of space, with ample closet room and a well laid out bathroom. Every morning, there was a selection of breakfast treats, juice, and of course coffee and tea. Venturing out the first afternoon (with little knowledge of Alexandria), we were pleasantly surprised to learn that we were in the middle of the old area of town with various activities and a broad selection of restaurants available to us. Walking around near the Morrison was a pleasant experience. We enjoyed our stay here. As bad luck would have it, I discovered when I arrived home that I had forgotten a package and left it at the hotel. It had no current contact information attached, so I was worried about what would happen to the item. As soon as I called the contact number, I learned that the package had been discovered, and stored in a secure area. Within a day, it was on its way to my home, and it arrived safe and sound the following day. I was impressed at how helpful the staff was each time I called for a progress report. For my next trip to Alexandria, I will stay here again, and I highly recommend the Morrison for others.

Brandon Acosta: The Morrison House was the perfect location to host our wedding ceremony and reception! We also stayed at the hotel the week of the wedding and had an exceptional stay thanks to all of the incredible staff. From the people at the front desk to the team setting up for the wedding everyone went above and beyond to make our experience special. This was definitely one of the most hospitable places I have stayed at and cannot thank everyone at The Morrison enough!
Response: Thank you, Brandon for taking the time to share your experience following your recent stay at the Morrison House and Congratulations on your wedding and We are glad to learn that you had a wonderful time and exceptional stay . Acey Doak: We had a very pleasant stay at the Morrison House!! The lobby had a mix of charming and modern decor with lots of cozy corners to read or play a game of cards by the lit fireplace. We were greeted by Sam D who was incredibly friendly and accommodating. We had zero issues and if ever in Alexandria, go to the Morrison House! You won't regret it. .

Luvdup DJs: This venue is perfect for an intimate smaller wedding. I had the pleasure of DJing a 60 person wedding at Morrison House last night and the staff were so lovely. Amanda & Chelsea are so accommodating & the food was delicious. It has lots of small spaces so if you have older guests they have somewhere to talk. The bar is also perfect for cocktail hour and great for some cool photos.
Response: Dear Luvdup DJs, Thank you so much for sharing your positive review following your event at the Morrison House Hotel , Autograph Collection, Old town , Alexandria! I am glad to learn that staff were so lovely and helpful in particular Amanda and Chelsea who are really great asset and gracious hosts at the Morrison House. We look forward to welcoming you sometime very soon at the Morrison House. Best Regards, Sam Shaheen Front Office Manager Morrison House Hotel

Daniela Nauffal: Let me start by saying this hotel does not meet the expectations of a 4-star hotel. I’ll go over negatives and positives of the actual hotel, but I also want to point out that we booked our stay with the Love Alexandria package and, unfortunately, the hotel staff did not seem very knowledgeable or prepared on it. They didn’t have our Key to the City passes when we arrived and we never got our water taxi passes, so we were unable to use them. The positives: - the hotel’s façade and common areas are beautifully designed and maintained. It is true to the style of Old Town while still remaining modern - the bathrooms in the rooms are very well designed and beautiful - the location is very convenient if you want to stay and walk around Old Town, which we did. - because the hotel restaurant is closed, the hotel is offering free wine from 5-6 pm every day. And free continental breakfast. Now to the negatives: - the room itself is nice looking, but the actual quality leaves a lot to be desired. For example, the mattress was rock hard and while it did have a topper, the topper was too small for the mattress so it kept rolling up at night, leaving us on the bare mattress. Kind of gross when you’re sleeping on a bed that many strangers have slept on, not to mention very uncomfortable. - the bedding was very cheap. The mattress had no fitted sheet so the top sheet that was used as a fitted sheet just slid around. The “comforter” was a thin fabric that was actually an insert with no cover. - even though the room was renovated, the heating system was not. The furnace was extremely loud and woke us up constantly throughout our first night, to the point where we had to turn it off for the subsequent nights. Even turned off, the furnace still made a loud humming noise that woke us up a couple times. - we booked a “ground floor” room, which we assumed would be the same floor as the lobby. Turns out the “ground floor” is actually the basement so we paid almost $300/night to stay in the basement. Although the hotel’s common spaces are truly beautiful, we had terrible night’s sleep the three nights we stayed at Morrison House so we would not stay there again. Additionally, for almost $300/night we expected better room accommodations.

Cristal Davila: Bear with me, this is going to start out sound rough but ultimately we had a lovely time hosting a reception dinner at the Morrison House. Due to Covid what initially would have been a wedding turned into a dinner party. My initial experience working with the MH staff was great, but over time the person I started with left, and another person took over. This person was not good to work with. She barely did the minimum to help us with the event. She was careless with details and rude to my stepmother. She was late to appointments and once missed our appointment altogether. Her explanation was that she was busy. We took time out our busy schedules to accommodate her, and then to reschedule when she didn't come through, so it's baffling that she felt this sufficed as an explanation. It's appears she didn't want to work with us from the start. I have detailed feedback if her employers are interested. Feel free to call me. Despite this, we had a wonderful time. In contrast with our experience with the person I previously alluded to, everyone else we interacted with was wonderful. Above and beyond, amazing customer service, kind and professional. I took notes on who I talked to directly, so if I don't mention everyone who was there that weekend it's because I didn't see them personally, but I've heard nothing but good feedback from my friends and family. Kubi and Sam at the front desk: Friendly, helpful, awesome. Thanks guys! :) Monique at the front desk: An absolute rockstar. A few of my guests were temporarily locked out of their rooms due to a card reader malfunction, she was on top of getting it resolved and she even went to CVS to buy diapers for my niece to tide her over while the room was unavailable. I adore that she was so kind to my family. Thank you so much Monique! Problems will inevitably arise, how you handle it is everything and you did a great job. Sam the Manager: Great! Attentive to making sure our guests had all they needed. Thank you for taking care of my friends! Francois: Bartender, made delicious drinks and was so kind. Thank you, Sir! Vladimir and Galina: Wait staff. They were amazing, no one got a chance to go without food or a drink with them on the job, and they were so nice. Thank you! Katherine: Director of Banquets. Dropped in to see how things were going, appreciated her doing so. (things were going great btw) Last but certainly not least! Tomas, the Chef: I enjoyed chatting with him to plan the menu, he was so enthusiastic that I had complete confidence that everything would turn out well. The food was SO GOOD. I gave him the basics of what we wanted, and took his recommendations on the details. Everything he chose was so, so delicious. The hors d'oeuvres and charcuterie boards were perfect. The main course of pork was delicious. Even the side dishes of mashed potatoes and seasonal vegetables were amazing. Apparently this person can make root vegetables novel and interesting, I am impressed! I'm glad we let him decide because I couldn't have asked for anything to be better. I'm so excited to visit his restaurant next time we're in town. Highly recommend. Thank you for all the good food, Tomas! The Morrison House hotel space was clean and comfortable. I loved the literary theme of the decor. There were books scattered throughout the common spaces, and the key cards were all little vintage book covers. Very nice! I deeply appreciate Morrison House for working with us through the pandemic. Our original wedding was set for April 2020, so we had to cancel and it was hard to reschedule in the time of Covid. Thanks for working with us! We look forward to being repeat customers. Overall we had a good time and we're already planning our next stay. The only reason I'm not rating five stars is the difficulty working with one person, which aside from being frustrating also resulted in some unnecessary practical difficulties. I want to make it clear that I don't expect perfection, but I do expect basic courtesy and professionalism. I strive to be fair in my criticism.

Darin Hudgins: I had a great stay there with my wife for our anniversary. Staff was nice, location was great. Still give 5 stars but don't pay extra for the breakfast, really wasn't worth it.

Tina Colston: The room was well appointed and the customer service was excellent! Great location. Quiet yet accessible to King Street’s shops and restaurants. I plan on frequenting!
Response: Dear Tina, Thank you so much for taking the time to write your positive feedback following your recent stay at the Morrison House Hotel and I am glad to learn that you had a wonderful stay with us . We look forward to welcoming you to the Morrison House . Best Regards, Sam Shaheen Front Office Manager Morrison House Hotel

Heather: 12/30/21. Just wanted to update my review for my most recent stay at the Morrison House. The lady working the front desk, Monique, did an incredible job of not only checking people in, valeting cars, & running the wine hour but also dealt swiftly & incredibly professionally with a room issue I had at the same time! I did not realize I had been given a connecting room until someone checked in next door and put their tv on. I could hear everything loud & clear. It was not pleasant at all. Monique had my room changed in less than 5 minutes! Once again, what makes this hotel stand out is the staff.
Response: Dear Heather, Many thanks for sharing your positive review following your recent stay at the Morrison House Hotel. Our staff are a great assets to our hotel in particular Monique who was mentioned in your review on how wonderful job she did when you had an issue with the noise . I will make sure she is recognized for the phenomenal job she extended to you . We look forward to welcoming you to the Morrison House. Best Regards, Sam Shaheen Front Office Manager Morrison House Hotel

citizenM Washington DC hotel: what do users think?

core10metal: Excellent. Easy check-in/check-out, staff was welcoming and really really nice...but that's my experience with people in DC in general. Atmosphere and design was top notch. Rooms are small but everything you need for a great night sleep. Bed is right at window sill height so feels awesome and campy...but in a city. Great overall design. Hallways even felt great. Loved the frosted glass showers and toilet but I'm very private and would probably be an issue with me if significant other was with me. Although watching her silhouette in the shower would be awesome. Can't beat the price, unbelievably affordable.

Joseph Wight: Wasn’t sure at first… Check in process was hassle free, loved that I could do it myself, not much available to help bring heavy/large luggage around but I managed. Room was smaller than I thought with an unorthodox style but the bed was massive and incredibly comfortable. Loved the fluffy pillows and the tablet being able to operate absolutely everything. The different cool soaps, tap water is safe to drink, then when I asked for cleaning, they weren’t sure when they’d get to it… then did it within hours which was a pleasant surprise. Modern, elegant, and hotel of the future… would stay again!

sierra hall: I loved my time here at the CitizenM. The decor was amazing and the cleanliness of the rooms were even better. Our check in went well and it was very easy. The showers are amazing and the bed is so comfy. The bar was my boyfriend and I favorite spot to hang out, the bartenders were lovely and we even made cool with the manager at the bar! She made us some awesome drinks. The only thing I didn’t like was the parking situation. You have to find random parking on the street. However, the hotel was so nice that it outweighed that burden of finding parking. Overall, I loved my experience the staff was very friendly and helpful.

Radhika Somthankar: The rooms are very small, but white, crisp and clean. Good for a couple. The staff is helpful. Amazing lounge and common area. The kitchen is great. Close to the national mall which was very convenient. Could be better - we came by a red eye and found doors locked, there is a way to contact someone from outside but having this in checkin instructions would be great. We were sleepy and tired and closed doors caused some panic. You can hear everything from the bathrooms in the room, so some sound proofing would be good.
Response: Hello Radhika, Thank you very much for sharing this valuable feedback. We are available by room key access only in the evening, I will look into having more signage that more clearly shows where the intercom is in the night in case you are checking in late. I truly appreciate you taking the time to review us and hope you will stay with us again. Best, Olivia Zeis Hotel Manager

Blvknative: For my first time coming to this hotel, I truly didn’t know what to expect, but the citizenM definitely was more than I expected, comfy room with the bed pressed up against the window. They have these big shades, Night time and Day time. Which I thought was pretty cool. Being able to change the lighting in the room was fancy! Definitely set the mood for the night! Being able to control everything from the iPad in the room was amazing!Cool bar in the lobby. Only thing that threw me off was them charging for late checkout but either than that! I really liked this place and would totally stay again.

A S: Very clean, very modern, cozy, and comfortable. I was very happy with our room and the common space. The bar has delicious drinks and good food. There is so much to look at and I can't stress enough how clean the hotel was during our visit. The price was very reasonable as well. We will definitely visit citizenM again!

Ginna D'Alba: Absolutely loved my stay! The staff went consistently above and beyond. The room was clean, comfortable, and very high tech. The bar, the lobby, the living room etc were thoughtfully put together with a great vibe. The TV didn't have a TV guide and took a good five to 10 seconds to change channels, but in the days of all the streaming services it wasn't a big deal. The other minor aggravation was the overpowering air freshener in the lobby. This company definitely has a solid brand, complete with a scent which was too strong.

Leon J: From the minute we walked in, to the minute we checked out, Tyler was warm, inviting, helpful and friendly. She exemplified the hotel mantra "Greet strangers as if they're you're closest friends." We were highly impressed with the amenities, decor, food and beverage offerings, and the ease of check-in and check-out. Every staff member was outstanding in fact, and it all added up to a great experience. We were very pleased that we decided to give Citizen M in DC a try. Highly recommended, especially for the value and price!

Richard Hardy: This hotel is amazing. Great location, compact room but with a very modern theme. For me though, it was the staff. All of them went above and beyond for me, no matter the question or time of day, with excellent local food recommendations and how to get in to a sold out museum 😊 Only thing I would ask is for my next stay, have more vegetarian food options, this is something I struggle with in the USA and I believe it would help you stand out even more.
Response: Hello Richard, Thank you so much for sharing such thoughtful feedback with us. I will definitely pass along your comments regarding more vegetarian options to our F&B team. I'm really glad you were able to make connections with our team of Ambassadors. I hope that you'll visit us again next time you're in DC. Cheers, Olivia Zeis Hotel Manager

Laura Chapman: This hotel is so cool! The decor is quirky and fun, check in is easy, and it's very quiet at night. Great for couples visiting DC or business travel, wouldn't be suited for families or groups of friends. The bar/lounge is really nice too.

College Park Marriott Hotel & Conference Center: what do users think?

Kimberly Johnson: The customer service is great and parking is easy. The manager Timothy is kind and helpful. Nice amenities and the restaurant/bar is good. Admittedly, the rooms are small. The overall facility is the draw, not the individual rooms so much. The art & sculpture galleries on the lower level is a nice bonus(though that technically is the UMCG art collection). There have a permanent and temporary artist exhibits. Overall, a comfortable place to stay and visit.

Dee: From the moment of check-in, my stay was great! Larry Rollins at the front desk was so helpful from checking me in to my employee forms that I needed. He was very warm and welcoming!! Thank you for the upgrade, we ENJOYED the suite greatly!! :) The hotel was very clean and every associate we encountered was very nice. We will definitely be back for another staycation!

Courtney Castriotta: Horrible. Bonvoy member and literally had a closet for a room. Literally. And at not a cheap rate. No AC and room was so stuffy. Could not lower it myself as it had been locked. Had to call in service who lowered the temp but vent ended up just blowing air and not cool air. Have horrible allergies so suffered all night without this. Putting in formal complaint.

Brooks Funke: Honestly. It's just decent. The rooms are bad, thr layout I am not a fan of. Thr shower is bad as well. Giant drain that runs the length of the shower. Youre constantly stepping on it. Your window literally faces another wing of the building and other rooms windows, so make sure tk draw your blinds. The restaurant is nice though

Richie Rich: Attended a wedding and my shoes were destroyed in the freight elevator. I was somewhat taken aback that this 1st class hotel did not have handicap facilities. Very surprised. Then elevator broke down and had to be taken all around the property in order to reenter tje ballroom. The food and service was excellent. Gave 3 stars because of shoes destruction.

Robert Gallion: Room was very small for the price and location, I haven't seen rooms that small except for downtown city hotels, they are nicely appointed and the people are very nice, but given the choice I would probably find somewhere else to stay in the area.

Li Ju: Pros: 1) hotel is clean 2) hotel has a free parking lot which is definitely convenient Cons: 1) Did not get upgrade for Marriott member 2) booked via a cherry blossom promotion link, but don’t understand why it didn’t apply to my booking, it supposed to get free breakfast plus subway cards, but I got nothing Overall a fine experience. But will not come again for stay.

Wendy M Gibson: Attended a conference here. Breakfast and lunch was provided. Great food selection and service.Lots of small rooms for small sessions. Plenty of restrooms too.

Extended Stay America - Washington, D.C. - Landover: what do users think?

Donovan Lewis: Upon pulling into the parking lot there was construction everywhere. When we got to the front desk, they were rude and ignoring the customers. She needed to speak up and ask if there were any questions from the guest. When we got to the room, the cabinets where falling and broken. There was a dirty looking shine stuff on the ceiling. Then when getting into the bed I found red spots on the comforter. It appeared to be blood. I did not sleep due to the vehicle traffic outside. Oh and the police were in the lobby talking to a suspect. Very disappointed in my stay will not come here again!
Response: Thank you for your recent stay at our hotel. We appreciate you taking the time to post your review, as we truly value our guest's comments and opinions. We were sorry to read you had several issues during your stay, and we are grateful for your patience. We would like an opportunity to show you the hospitality for which we are known, and we hope you will return the next time your travels bring you this way. Sincerely, Hotel Management

LaToya Boyce: This is by far one of the worst hotels that I've stayed at. Today has to be one of the hottest days( 96 degrees) and the hotels air conditioning system isn't working efficiently. My rooms temperature must be about 80 degrees and I can barely breathe. I called the front desk the receptionist attempted to reset the system. 2 hours later I called back to inform them that the air still isn't working. I was told that nothing else can not be done until tomorrow. No other solutions were offered.
Response: Dear LaToya, we always want our guests to enjoy our clean, comfortable, and home-like suites, and it is disappointing that this was not your experience. We are looking into the matter with our maintenance team and will rectify the issue as soon as possible. Meanwhile, please contact the front desk if we can change your room. Once again, we are sorry for the difficulties you encountered. Sincerely, Hotel Management

Carol Brazzier: Service needs to be much better. No shuttle service and if you don't have access to vehicle then you have to spend $50 in transport using Uber one way to get around. Needs to address the roaches within the room. Too many However, the staff employees are amazing, very courteous, helpful and goes out of their way. I thank God for them
Response: Kaitlyn, thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We are glad to see from your rating that you had a pleasant stay overall and that you were pleased with the service our associates delivered. However, we regret not meeting some of your expectations and apologize for the concerns you had with your guest room. Our pest control provider has been alerted, and we will take steps to ensure such issues do not happen in the future. We hope you will return to experience our hotel as we would have liked you to during this visit. Sincerely, Hotel Management

Mary Chambers: All the front desk staff is very pleasant and helpful, but the room on the second floor have too many roaches, on the wall, the inside/outside doors and in the bathroom. The front desk staff did ask me if I like to change room, for what, when the roache problem is everywhere in this hotel. The front desk staff provided me with a can of roaches spray, that was very helpful for them to do, the bathroom smell like weed from somebody room I did receive dirty towels and when it was time to change the sheets on the bed it had blood on the top sheet and the cleaning person removed it immediately. I hear it was no need to switch room because all the rooms has roaches problems. The workers that was making repairs Early Wednesday and Thursday Morning under my room and next door banging, removing flloor, wall, carpet, cabinets, furnitures outside of my room door after being released from the hospital. I woke up with a migraine headache 😫 both days and the manager said she did not know that the workers was working 🙃 I been here since February 16, 2022 until March 5, 2022 never again.
Response: Mary, thank you for taking the time to evaluate your stay. We regret not meeting your expectations and apologize for the concerns you had with the guest room. We will share your comments with our housekeeping team and with our pest control provider to make sure we prevent such reoccurrences. We are also sorry for the noise disturbance you experienced and for the inconvenience this caused. Feedback like yours gives us valued insight to improve our guest experience; therefore, we appreciate your comments. We are grateful for your patience, and we hope you will consider staying with us the next time your travels bring you to our area. Sincerely, Hotel Management

Angel Jenell: The staff are very nice and caring. Drew, Kayla and the manager Amanda are SO sweet! They are professional yet caring and really make sure you are having a comfortable stay by taking care of any needs that arise. Very thankful for them!
Response: Angel, thank you for your review filled with so many kind comments! We are thrilled to hear you had a great stay with us at Extended Stay America. Thank you for mentioning our staff, especially Amanda. She is a true asset to our team, and we will be sure to share your compliments. Again, thank you for your feedback, and we hope to see you again soon! Sincerely, Hotel Management

Carlos Gutierrez: Something‘s peculiar and possibly oxy sorbines act violation, American with disabilities act violations and possibly civil rights 1964 violations I’ll follow up with the state representative for Maryland and find out why you would put an accessible room three floors up there’s an emergency how do you get that person that’s needing X access to the first floor? That makes no sense! The front desk answers the guest room call to change rooms and the hotel answers the call with “Guest Services how May I held you? “ I was told to come to the front desk just for the clerks to attempt to upsell to a different quality room that this room was my selection. Clearly a sham bad guest service and clearly rude to a class of person!!! No guest services
Response: Thank you for bringing this to our attention. We take these matters very seriously and will take the necessary actions to ensure this is properly addressed. Sincerely, Hotel Management

Kay Christie: The rooms were okay...I enjoyed that stay...I just didn't like that we had to pay an extra 100 dollars for deposit...I know people take things from the hotel..really I couldn't see leaving deposit... but u do get it back!
Response: Dear Kay, our gratitude for reviewing your stay at Extended Stay America. We acknowledge the disappointment caused, and we will see how we can make the future experience better. We thank you for choosing to stay with us. We wish to have the opportunity to welcome you back. Sincerely, Hotel Management

Ananya: I planned for 3 days but I had to checkout in 2 days. I would say this is a weed Extended stay, even if you take no smoking room, you need think you are going into gas chamber. Additionally, you need to wait at least 1 hour to get assistance, surprisingly no one you see front desk. This is my last experience with extended stay and I will never book again.
Response: Thank you very much for staying at our hotel. We failed you in the most basic of ways by not providing a clean and comfortable guest room and for that we are very sorry. Be assured we take the cleanliness of your suite and the entire hotel very seriously. Even though this is not a frequent occurrence we recognize that even one time is too many. Remedial steps within our housekeeping department are underway to ensure this does not happen again. We truly hope this unfortunate situation will not prevent you from staying with us again. Sincerely, Hotel Management

RENEE Hatcher: Very good location. Close to shopping areas. Rooms clean. Good and mannerly front desk service along with polite and helpful housekeeping staff. Drew was very kind, helpful and made me feel welcome.I enjoyed my privacy and my stay.

Bethesda North Marriott Hotel & Conference Center: what do users think?

Garshét Hatcher: I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at the Marriott, even though it was only for one night. The room was modern, spacious, and you can smell the cleaning products when we walked in which is a breath of fresh air. The restaurant/bar at the hotel is GOOD. I definitely recommend, the drinks and food exceeded our expectations. Our waiter was also very nice! The only slight problem I had was that the washcloth in the bathroom was wet when we arrived, I'm not sure why or what it was used for but what if we had arrived later in the day and it was dry? We would have used a potentially dirty washcloth.. Also, you're paying to park in a parking lot behind the building - not a garage.
Response: Thank you for your review. We hope to welcome you back soon. Travel Brilliantly.

jeff goldberg: Very nice Marriott hotel. Friendly and helpful staff Plenty of parking at somewhat reasonable price. Spacious, clean rooms. Superior shower. Central location in Rockville MD. Breakfast, and dinner available to order and pick up or deliver to your room for $5 fee. Limited selection of entrees. Complimentary water, otherwise no convenience store, but 7/11 close by. Pet friendly. Highly recommend.
Response: Thank you for your review. We hope to welcome you back soon. Travel Brilliantly.

Derryck Holston: My first time there. Stayed overnight for a conference connected to the Amphitheater. The Service was Outstanding and the room was very comfortable and reasonably priced. The breakfast was DELICIOUS and our Server named MERCEDES was AMAZING!!!! The Amphitheater venue was Fantastic as well! I truly enjoyed the stay and experience. Highly Recommended!👍🏼
Response: Thank you for your review. We hope to welcome you back soon. Travel Brilliantly.

Simon Kissler: First let me say that I've stayed at this hotel for business many times both pre-pandemic as well as post. It is my "go to" in this area and I would definitely recommend it. That said, let me add some stuff: The hotel overall is very solid as you would expect from a Marriott. Rooms are new and well maintained. Restaurant and bar are both quite good and access to the conference space next door is very convenient. Most important to mention for me though are the people. From being greeted like a friend and always a friendly "good morning" or "welcome back" the people make this hotel feel as close to a home away from home as one could imagine.
Response: Thank you for your review. We hope to welcome you back soon. We appreciate your continued partnership. Travel Brilliantly.

Nicalena Neary: We attended an event at the Conference center of the Bethesda North Marriott. The food was very good. The service was excellent. Staff was very attentive and friendly. Tables were well spaced. The only problem was the acoustics in the large space. It was difficult to hear speeches especially seated in the back.
Response: Thank you for your review. We hope to welcome you back soon. Travel Brilliantly.

Krys M Gatmaitan: We didn't stay in a room overnight, though we did attend a birthday party held in one of the rooms at the conference center. First of all, it is a great location to have a reception or even a whole wedding, especially in the Grand ballroom, which is their biggest room. The birthday party we attended was in a smaller sized room called the White Oak room. It's much smaller but has the capacity for around 300 guests. The decor and overall atmosphere was nice, it felt upscale and the lighting provided was perfect. My only complaints would be the food and the service. Food is just ok, it was very pretty in presentation but the taste wasn't memorable. For what it is and for the price per head I would imagine it would be a little better. I had the chicken with salad, and I think maybe the seasoning was off. Service was adequate, though I felt there is room for improvement in the demeanor and attitudes of the servers working the event. I asked what other drinks they had other than water and it seemed our server either couldn't believe I asked them or thought that I should get up and find out for myself. They did give me a choice and served it to me, but only after they pointed out where I should be getting drinks in the future. In my head I'm thinking serving is exactly what a server is supposed to do, but I guess they'd rather just let me know how to serve myself. It seemed it was just one server though, so it shouldn't be applicable to the others, though it was something that stuck in my mind. Even a simple greeting and introduction from the servers would go a long way. Some of staff wore masks which was a welcome sign. Additionally, I was hoping there was a way to have the parking tickets validated or somehow covered by the host, though maybe I wasn't made aware of the option for that. Overall, very nice location for any event or convention, just needs a little bit polishing up.
Response: Thank you for your review. We will share your feedback with our team. We hope to welcome you back soon. Travel Brilliantly.

Amanda H: My family and I stayed here for a soccer tournament. The hotel was chosen for us. If given the choice, I would not have picked this particular one. Paid parking, no breakfast, no pool. The facility itself was very nice. I had asked for extra towels on three different occasions, but only received extra hand towels. So for four people, two nights, we had a total of two regular sized towels and a bunch of hand towels. The trash/dirty towels were not picked up daily, so by the time our stay ended, the trash was overflowing. And the vending machines on all 6 floors were empty.
Response: Thank you for your review. We hope to welcome you back soon. Travel Brilliantly.

Asher Brand: Very nice hotel, clean rooms, good food, great staff. Why 2 Stars? The pandemic is over, it is time to start providing standard room service. At this point it feels like you are taking advantage of your customers (the price sure didn't go down).
Response: Thank you for your review. We appreciate the feedback and will address with our team. We hope to welcome you back soon. Travel Brilliantly.

REAPR24: The hotel and offered amenities are fantastic!! There is an on site bar and restaurant with quite the decor. The staff was super friendly and quite helpful when the parking system went haywire. The area isn't the best as far as looks, but, you're only a few miles from great shopping and restaurants both North and South or the hotel.
Response: Thank you for your review. We hope to welcome you back soon. Travel Brilliantly.

Sid Baxter: Great place, good food at meetings, but note to management: For God's sake, PLEASE get some better coffee for your conferences and at your hotel bar. It is just hot brown water. The caliber of your coffee does not jive with your otherwise-fine establishment. That's the only thing holding back a five-star review.
Response: Thank you for your review. We will address with our team and follow up accordingly. Travel Brilliantly.

DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Washington DC - Silver Spring: what do users think?

Jackson Howell: Substandard services and broken essentials such as air conditioning have been a constant problem at this hotel for some time. Read previous reviews and there is definitely a trend. With an optimum location and plenty of clientele, there is absolutely no excuse for this hotel to be so terribly managed. Save your money and do not stay here over the summer as the rooms will stay in the mid 70's bare minimum and help will not come if something goes wrong. The valets were stellar and hardworking which has made my time here slightly better.
Response: Thank you for taking the time to share your experience about your recent stay at our hotel. We sincerely appreciate your feedback and are very sorry we fell short in meeting and exceeding your expectations of an exceptional stay. Trent Brink: I realize that there are staff shortages so I won’t be too harsh with my review. The front desk staff were friendly and quick to help. My main complaint is that the room was in need of renovation and updating. Other then that the cookies were delicious and the valet was easy to use when it wasn’t too busy and we didn’t have issues with other people staying at the hotel. The location of this hotel is extremely convenient, close to the interstate, a metro station, the mall, and lots of restaurants. Which is why I picked this hotel.
Response: Thank you for taking a moment to share your experience. I am happy to hear you found the everything to your liking. We look forward to welcoming you back to our hotel in the not too distant future!

Rebecca Everett Brady: While the staff was very kind and hospitable, the facilities were very old and dingy. The A/C units seemed like they were hanging on by a thread...set at 60F to achieve a temp of 75F. I did not feel comfortable touching things or putting my stuff down. I was thankful I only stayed one night, and would most definitely not stay again or recommend based on the building, unless they did a huge rehab.

Matthew Matack: The A/C is absolutely terrible in the rooms. They will send up maintenance and poke around but you know that there is no way get the A/C to blow cold air when the unit is not in your room. I expect that if it’s almost 100 degrees you would want your guests to stay comfortable. It would be great if the management could get this issue resolved, no one likes sweating though the night! The staff is friendly and the valet is fantastic. Read the other responses and notice the A/C is an issue, I wouldn’t recommend during the summer months.

Leila Camejo: Horrendous! Ghetto… no service if staying over one night. Didn’t get clean towels the following day on a 2 night stay. No coffee pod fill and no toiletry fill. No garbage removal neither. Bed was not made (understandable in these times) but no clean towels?!?! I had to call and get everything myself. Housekeeping didn’t speak english and front desk staff had ghetto attitudes! Area where hotel is located is despicable. Noisy hotel. You hear everything through the walls and outside the door. Poor selection of snacks in store. Rooms extremely small. Would NOT recommend anything about it. Paid too much ($200/night) for a tiny room and no service! Ugghhh!

Ziv Edri: I have only bad experience from this hotel. 83 degrees out side 95 in my room and the air conditioner is not working. Let the lobby know (didn’t even look at me when they were talking) and basically said Nothing we can do. Just wait. Didn’t offend to change the rood didn’t offer any compensation for the bad experience. They just didn’t care! Didn’t even want to refund after I said I would like to move to different hotel. They are the worst. Not planning to go near them in the future.

Adi Misigoy: If I could give ZERO stars I would. We arrived late last night because of flight delays - our room was HOT. We told the front desk they sent someone who turned it off and back on. We all took cold showers and tried to sleep. Everyone - including the baby - woke up SWEATING and none of us even used the sheets. We complained first thing in the morning. We were told it was this side of the building and would affect all of the suites. They were supposed to have someone fix it but if they couldn’t they’d move us to side of hotel that AC is working in but we’d have to be in two rooms - fine. Go out to spend the day out and about. Return at 6:30 PM and it’s HOTTER than the night before/the morning. Tell front desk. They say they are going to send the engineer and tell us not to take hot showers as that will make the problem worse. What?! Go out to dinner, return almost at 11pm - it’s HOTTER in the room. It’s 81 degrees outside and it feels COOLER than this room. Hallways are cooler - so clearly the AC is working somewhere. Now they are claiming the whole hotel is like this and that our room is at 60 degrees. We run our AC at 70/71 degrees at home and it’s COLD there’s no way this is even 80 degrees in here. We have grandma with us and a baby - this is ABUSIVE! I booked this directly through Hilton and I’m a Gold HHonor member. This is BEYOND unacceptable. And this isn’t even going into the mold in the shower, ripped up carpet between the bedroom and living room, dingy state of everything. DON’T STAY here even if it’s free! At this point they should refund us and get us a room at another Hilton Hotel in the area and transport us. Front desk claimed they’d refund us - and bring fans to the room - when my husband goes back minutes later to say sure refund it (in case we can find somewhere else to move ourselves) - and she back peddles and says she can only refund one night on points (even though I booked directly with Hilton) and we are having to live through this hellish heat for our THREE NIGHT STAY!

amber then: We traveled to the area for a family members funeral and had made a group reservation for 12 people. Every single one of our rooms were disgustingly musty and hot. We called front desk to tell them our rooms were incredibly hot even though the thermostat read 60 degrees. They sent a tech that was in the room for no more than 1 minute, he said it was fixed but he didn’t do anything at all. We all slept without any covers and were still drenched in sweat. We asked to change rooms in the morning and they sent us to another room that was exactly the same. The rooms are significantly hotter and more humid than even outside. The AC only blows the fan, not cold air. Horrible experience.
Response: Thank you for taking a moment to share your experience. We are very sorry to hear that you didn't enjoy your stay with us. We hope to welcome you back in the near future.

Glenn Schatzel: As a frequent Hilton traveler, this hotel is below typical Doubletree standards. While the location is good, the service at this hotel is lacking. It’s also dated. The Lamp in my room was falling apart. The AC in my room wasn't working. Attempt was made, I called front desk to explain it still was t working. I was told they would call me back. No call back. it was only after I called a few hours later to cancel my second night that they seemed to care. I don’t write reviews a lot, but would advise to only stay here if the price is really, really low and you cant find other Hilton properties available.

Erin Rota: We had an excellent stay especially considering the raging Omicron infection rate and the fact that the employees were working the Christmas holidays. The hotel was quiet, the linens and towels were fresh and white, the room was clean, the valet parking service was excellent. Coffee was provided in the lobby. The hotel provided a relaxing place for us during our family visit.
Response: Thank you for the feedback, We take pride in providing exceptional service and I am glad that our team was able to make your stay a memorable one. Your experience here at the Doubletree is what we aim to give every guest that stay with us. We look forward to hosting you on your return visit to Silver Spring.

The Westin Crystal City Reagan National Airport: what do users think?

Cary Owsley: Overall was a decent hotel with excellent access to the metro. The bar downstairs was nice as well, and the food was decent. The reception desk was accommodating and courteous as well. The rooms were nice and had convenient places to charge your electronics. The bed was very comfortable, and the bathroom was well appointed with a rain shower and wand. Lastly, the parking garage was easy to access below the hotel. However, my complaint was that I could hear the guest next door speaking on the phone. It was difficult to fall asleep until he ended his call.
Response: Thank you for your survey and feedback Cary. I have informed our Engineering department in regards to your feedback to start working on solutions to resolve this issue, thank you.

Matt Irey: Was a brief overnight stay. Mostly slept, and then cleaned up the kids messes before checking out and heading home. Was (initially) clean, comfortable. Only complaint being the non-operational refrigerator. They tolerated me bringing my hopped-up scooter up to the room with no objections. Even though it's a dorky scooter, it's also clearly a ne'er do wells hopped up scooter. Hotel reactions run the gamut. It definitely looks like a trouble-makers vehicle. Sometimes hotels seem amused when I bring it in. Not always the case.
Response: We have glad you had a pleasant stay with us and hope that you will be back should your plans allow.

Joana Underwood: I'm enjoying the place. It's old but the bathroom is upgraded and clean. Gave it 4 stars because my room in the 10th floor's carpet needs serious refreshing. It smells like staph. Nice stay otherwise, just don't walk around barefoot.
Response: Dear Joana, Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback from your recent stay at the Westin Crystal City. I have address your feedback with housekeeping and engineering departments in regards to the carpet. Could you let me know which room you were staying to have it inspected, thank you,

A Sabbagh: I had a great stay at this hotel with my colleagues from work. It looks amazing the moment you step in the lobby, but once you’re in the elevator till you reach your room, it’s not as amazing as it seemed when you stepped in! A little outdated…everything else! On my second day, it was scheduled (by the hotel) to change all access units on all the hotel room doors!! I was in my room working when the team came to remove, drill and fix the new access units, after which I had to visit the front desk to change my access cards. Nevertheless, the beds were so comfy and the room in general wasn’t bad at all. It has a refrigerator and a coffee maker, which was great! They have a small shop downstairs if you need water or some snacks. There bar is quite nice with variety of drinks but the seating was sometimes limited. Breakfast was surprisingly below average, and sometimes awful, besides one of the staff in the restaurant was quite rude when talking to him. Location is great, just 5-7 mins drive to downtown DC, and many restaurants and bars just around the corner (5 mins walk).
Response: Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback regarding your stay. We hope that if your travels bring you back to Arlington, you will consider staying with us again soon. Be well.

R. Croom: Well. First off, it had one of the most comfortable beds I've ever slept in. The hotel bar makes STRONG drinks. The hotel is 5 minutes away from downtown Washington D.C. The Pentagon City mall is about 10 minutes away, on foot and 3 minutes away driving. They had some decent eateries around the corner on 23rd Street. You must pay for your own wifi and the rooms don't have microwave ovens, only refrigerators. HOWEVER, my significant other paid for our stay using his debit card and every night, during our 3-day stay, this hotel was deducting something from his account and everyone, at the front desk, had different explanations as to why..They were putting holds on everything from the room deposit to the indoor parking. Just taking money out for something daily! Plus they charged him twice, for parking, during one of the days. He is supposed to get refunded all of it back, in several days, but it was really messing up our mood that everytime he went to check his bank account, there was a debit from the Westin during our stay there! Don't use your debit card to pay here. Also, the restaurant, inside this hotel, isn't that great. Our breakfast was horrible. My waffles were dry and tasted burnt. Everything was bland. I will still give it four stars because of it's proximity to Washington DC, eateries, the shopping mall and cleanliness.
Response: Thank you for the feedback. We appreciate hearing this and will take it back to the team for evaluation.
