Capitol Hill Sport&Health: what do users think?

Rachael Hunt: I want to give 5 stars to Raz, one of the trainers. I’ve been working out with him in his group classes and it’s been a great experience. He is super enthusiastic and always plans engaging and effective workouts. He is a great motivator. If you are ready to push yourself, he’s the trainer for you.

Sam C: I do not recommend this gym, they have terribly dishonest billing practices. It borders on a scam. I requested cancellation of my account during COVID, and was told on the phone that "as a courtesy" they would instead freeze my account until I was ready to start coming back. 3 months later, they started billing me again. Shame on me, I only noticed this 4-5 months later. When I contacted them, they said "you are not eligible for a refund without proof of a previous written request to extend the freeze on your account." Despite the fact I was never told I would need to request an extension. I was never told I needed an extension, I was told to contact them when I wanted to come back. Reading through other reviews, it appears this is a common problem.

Crunch Fitness - Chevy Chase: what do users think?

Colton Long: I’ve been coming to this Crunch location since fall 2018, and it’s been one of the best gyms I’ve frequented in the DMV. They’ve handled the pandemic and its ups and downs like rock stars. The only main caveat I’ll add here is that they desperately need squat racks that don’t have fixed safeties. Deadlift platforms are also a huge need, but squat racks with adjustable safeties are #1 on the list in my view.

Katerina Athena: I’m a new member of crunch and I already love it! Everyone has been super friendly so far. I’m doing personal training with Sean. He is very attentive and personalizes my workouts. I have previous injuries to my spine and he really checks in and makes sure I’m not doing anything to further my injuries and incorporates workouts that will help strengthen areas that will lessen my chronic pain. I haven’t used the showers yet but it’s super nice that they provide towel service so you don’t have to carry a soggy towel out with you. There’s a parking lot in the back and you can get validated for 100 free minutes. I got a great deal on a few personal training sessions but I will continue to go even after those are finished!

VIDA Fitness U Street: what do users think?

David Gershman: In the most appropriate way, I can say that Vida does not prioritize member safety in its steam rooms and saunas.

Reynaldo Castillo: Positive: ProfessionalismAmazing workout experience from the membership consultation to the quality of the facility. Paul Leiby understood my fitness goals and listened to all my concerns as I came from another gym franchise. I fully endorse the quality of the experience and I guaranty you will see results in your fitness goals.

Mathea Pielemeier: Barre3 instructors are always friendly, energetic, and welcoming! It’s a great low impact workout and good combo of cardio & strength work.

Foundation Fitness of Cleveland Park: what do users think?

Ben Rissler: This is an excellent gym with friendly staff! The facility is relatively small, but the gym has everything that you need to have a good workout. The gym is always immaculately clean, COVID-19 procedures are followed by everyone, and its online people tracker allows you to see how many individuals are at the gym at any given time. During the pandemic, this is a great feature if you prefer to limit your exposure to others. The outdoor deck is a unique addition which allows you to workout outside, which is rare to find in cities. Highly recommend this gym!

Danielle Lee: Love this boutique style gym! Been a member for a few years and the staff is always pleasant, helpful and knowledgeable. Clean gym and even an outdoor space for some socially distant fresh air workouts. Imani is my trainer and I’ve grown in strength, endurance and confidence since working out with her. Love her motivation. Keeps me on my toes. And always shares great tips for me to practice at home too. Def check it out if you’re in the area. Worth it!

VIDA Fitness at The Yards: what do users think?

Spiro Dimakas: Great gym and staff. Clean and newer equipment. Parking is very problematic after 3pm and routinely cars are double parked in the lot. Limited street parking and the larger lot at the grocery store doesn’t honor cross validation so you’ll end up missing a lot of workouts if your plan is to drive after work. If you don’t drive this is a great gym to go to!

David Gershman: Considering VIDA - on JUNETEENTH OF ALL DAY - made a WATERMELON-based cocktail speaks to the RACISM the company possesses. Can’t imagine what it’s like to carry that much hate. I feel bad for Vida— I feel bad for those whose values are such.

Bita Kh: The worst customer service I’ve ever seen. Nobody takes responsibility for the actions. They charge me with new fee membership that is more than the original one because of the mistake that made by themselves. I’ve spoke with customer service and sales department several times, everybody already aware of this problem but no action. When I follow up they send me to new person. This is absurd.

Conor O'Reilly: I had a personal training session with Phil and he did a great job! He taught me a lot about free weights and stretching. Now I feel more comfortable to use the more advanced equipment. They also have a pool, sauna, and basketball court. Love this place

Equinox Sports Club Washington, D.C.: what do users think?

Ebony Williams: Do not work at equinox if you have living situation or just a situation period the manger Duane don’t care if you have living situation problems he even told one of the employees that mid shift is childish because we all going through something sorry if you hired people who have living situation or who gave problems and be careful of the Towels and hand towels they wash them in hot water only no solution that why the towels look a little dirty Yess I use to work their and got fired because I was trying to find a place to stay the days I called out because I was homeless the cleaning manger is horrible at his job and HR needs to send a Secret Santana to see how they clean the place

Gelila Sebhatu: I called to inquiry about membership packages and I found the sales rep, Erica, a little rude and she did not directly answer my questions, which was irritating. Based on the reviews here, I’m not surprised I received this type of experience. I guess I’ll be looking elsewhere. I just wanted a nearby pool 🏊‍♀️

Stephanie Bredahl: I’ve been a member for about 2 years and can’t say enough great things about this gym. Staff is very friendly and welcoming, easy parking. Amazing classes! Love Patrick’s classes, I train with him too and if you’re looking for a personal train he is outstanding. He pushes you, makes sure you have proper form and makes each workout ‘fun’. Spin classes a great-they got new bikes recently and new gym equipment. Try the rock climbing wall!

Amelia Marple: Probably the best gym I’ve ever belonged to ever. I was a member for about 3-years and referred many people to join this gym. The staff and comradarie among the other members was unbeatable.

Rebecca Post: Critical: Communication, ProfessionalismSimilar to a previous poster, we canceled our membership and continue to be charged months after. Despite writing several times to Claire, no response. - WOW, that response below is rich given we did all the paperwork on November 23rd and are still being charged.

Lisa Wu: I live closeby in a neighboring apartment complex and recently joined CCAC a couple months ago after touring the facility and doing a free trial. I highly recommend attending their Strong class with Hayat every Tuesday and Thursday; this has been a game changer for me and my fitness goals. It has helped me tighten up and tone my body all over - especially my core and inner thighs. This instructor is one of the best I have ever taken from and is extremely motivating and personable!

Onelife Fitness - Reston: what do users think?

T K: Back in December of last year, the crunch in Reston closed and they gave all those members access to this Onelife location. Since then it has been near impossible to complete a workout because of the overcrowding. There are literally twice as many members here then prior to the crunch closing. They expanded the gym but all they did was put two benches and light dumbbells, and some racks. Is that supposed to compensate for an entire gym doubling its member amount? Coming here is just playing a waiting game to use a piece of equipment at all hours. Also why are they still only open till 9pm? They could at least stay open later to compensate for the extreme amounts of people at the gym. Please do not join this gym because there is no room for you.

Susan Caley: I have been a member of this club since it opened.. I have also used many other Fitness type clubs when I travel and I have never seen a club as well maintained, with super friendly staff and is so amazingly clean! At all times of the day and night the cleaning staff are in attendance, busy scrubbing away! I have had no fear during these Covid times because of the cleanliness, the attention to making sure everyone keeps their distance and making sure everybody wears a mask and has no temperature when entering. I love this club! Great job!

LA Fitness: what do users think?

Rahma Hejja: I like LA fitness in general for Zumba classes and swimming. This one was good location and convenient for me, but I had to cancel my membership. My concern is, they don’t accept canceling on the phone or online, so for one month I was too busy to go , especially after my working hours and I had a newborn baby, and I paid for one month without going any day, so today in my weekend I went to Cancel my membership and guess what?! It was so easy check chak done! So why they couldn’t do this on phone and let me pay $44.99 for no reason!

Martin Geiger: Never seen a messier gym in my life. There is equipment all over the place and the whole gym smells terribly. I’ve never seen an employee cleaning the place and I’m there every day. They just sit at the front desk with AirPods in on their phones

Onelife Fitness - Ballston: what do users think?

Jeffrey Haden: Overall enjoy this gym the only thing I don’t not enjoy is that sometimes their staff is late to open the building. I rarely come early in the morning but sometimes I have to depending on my work schedule. This was one of those times and at 5:05 am there wasn’t a single staff member there to open the door. At the rate I’m paying each month this should never happen. Otherwise I don’t have any other complaints.

Laura Henschel: Brittany and her team and the Ballston location are awesome. They have been so accommodating as I moved clubs from OneLife Rockville to their location, helped me with guest passes, towel service questions, and anything else I could need. I love this location because of the ample free weights section, including the brand new turf section used for stretching, dynamic workouts, etc. and their dry sauna and steam room. The outdoor terrace area is great when the weather is nice. Fun to people watch there or on the treadmills and get a workout in. I also enjoy their workout class selection -- the yoga room is great and the club has lots of equipment for every need -- blocks, pilates tools, bands, barbell pads, etc. and the staff is always around keeping the space clean. Nobody asked me to write a review, just needed to brag about how much I love my gym!

Washington Sports Clubs - DuPont Circle: what do users think?

Micha-Re Newton: This gym disregards the safety of its members and instead punishes them for taking precautions of their own safety. A recent member had just posted an interaction on social media of how he was followed by a man throughout his entire visit. The man would move to every corner that the member did. Even down to preforming intimidating acts by setting his belongings directly next to the member. WSC then decided that they would suspend the members membership for “recording and posting. & should have taken it to management” yet no actions have been taking on the predatory behavior of the man that was recorded. I can’t imagine how they would treat a woman in this same situation if this is how they treated a gentleman.

Tiana Stewart: This club does not care about the safety and well-being of their customers. Your membership will be terminated if you vent about the gym on social media with no refund of your monthly payment. This gym is not safe If you are attending alone. If you do go to this gym, please go with another person so that you were not followed around the gym.

VIDA Fitness Ballston: what do users think?

Steve E.: Very clean, full service gym including top of the line equipment, knowledgeable staff and personal trainers, a spa, smoothie bar, and multiple locations some of which feature rooftop pool access (with the right membership). The locker rooms are well appointed and the showers include shampoo and body wash with towel service at no additional cost. Most gym showers become nasty after a year or so after opening, but VIDA maintains a high standard that sets it apart from other area gyms.

John Saaty: This is the best workout facility in all of Arlington! Jonas Price is #1 PT and Jimmy runs a great cycling class!
