susan forsyth: I have been a member for years. The pool is excellent and the gym is great too.

Forrest Cory: Beautiful YMCA neatly tucked in the heart of DC. Awesome Life Fitness, Hammer Strength and Cybex equipment, a rock wall, swimming pool and friendly staff and trainers. Parking isn’t too bad considering the area and there is a garage around the corner . Highly recommended!

Andrei Jacobs: Well maintained but too small if you wanna get to a few pieces of equipment. Its a Nice community but smallish gym.

Brenda Fonseca: Clean, water is not cold (it is nice to see my daughter swiming without purple lips or shaking).

Nassim Safadi: This pool is very nice. Have a big changing room with shower and a locker space for you belonging. The kids swim lesson is fun the instructors are very knowledgeable they take time with kids to learn how to independent swimmers

Sarah Cox: We had a blast with our 5yo son. The pool was a bit cold. It worked well when our hotel who advertised a pool did not have one! Thank you!

Vinni: This is a great pool, with six Lanes, sometimes eight Lanes, but it certainly gets crowded Monday through Thursday evening after work. Be ready to swim 3 to a lane on those evenings. Best times to go for it not being crowded is Friday night

Mason Eoyang: The kids area gets real crowded in the evenings with classes, and so. Times its a struggle to find a lane, but the facilities are nice, well staffed and reasonably clean for a public pool. Arlington county residents get a discount for entry, all others pay full price (check website for current prices)

Sofía Fonseca Muñoz: It is a very nice pool and they are very organized for avoid contact due to covid. The booking system is nice, I just wish that you could book two days in advance or so.

Michael Goldring: Washington-Lee is a great facility. I always get a good workout there. The competition pool is very well designed and maintained. The water quality and temperature are excellent. The staff is friendly and helpful. It is open both to residents and non-residents. I travel a lot, and swim in many pools. Washington-Lee is one of the best anywhere.

john jonson: 10 swim lanes open seven days a week. It can get crowded so plan on having to share the swim lane. It could be improved by better management as there are often multiple classes going on at once with 1 lane open for everyone else.

Washington Sports Clubs - Glover Park: what do users think?

My Comment: Great neighborhood gym. Staff there -- Mahlape, Olga, Luis -- who are there in the mornings are friendly and quick to help if you have questions. You get a neighborhood vibe from the place as compared to the nameless big gyms. Especially during the pandemic you can see the extra effort they put in to keep the place clean, open, and welcoming. They make you feel part of a family. Glad to be a Glover Park member.

Jason Yeung: Been a member for several months now. I’ve haven’t had a negative experience with team members. The people that workout here are also very respectful and friendly. In response to a negative review of a team member I wanted to share my experience with her. Towards me, she’s always been friendly and hospitable. She does her best to remember everyone by name and notices when your workout buddy isn’t with you, even to the point of asking if they’re ok. The lack of a 5th star is not because of the staff. I wish there were bumper plates, another squat rack, and high quality barbells. That’s most likely a corporate issue.

Ricardo Martinez: I must disagree with a previous review. Malape is a value member of the gym, she is courteous, polite and nice in general. If there is a piece of equipment that is behind the desk, she would gladly point it to me so I can grab it (due to COVID). Luis is another great asset to the gym, he always looks to have everything ready and clean for us to workout early in the morning, always say hi with a smile and good attitude. I am appreciative of their work.

John Byrne: This is a great sports club with a friendly neighborhood atmosphere. Mahlape has always been an incredible asset -- friendly, professional and knowledgeable -- and Luis keeps everything extremely clean. The club was renovated a few years ago, and there is great equipment and a lot of space. Also, very easy to get to on Wisconsin Avenue.

Alexandre B. Sagna: I love ❤️ being part of Washington Sport Club Glover Park. The whole staff is friendly 😊. Brought two of my buddies to train with me and they loved it. Yes it’s tiny that’s true so if you don’t like being close to each other I recommend not to come around pick time 😊.

Joao Pedro: Very friendly staff and great customer service! I also want to kindly disagree with what was said in the latest review since I believe that the “older black woman”, as she was referred, is actually a valuable member and a very nice person who contributes a lot to the gym with her nice work. I only have great words to say about the whole team that works there. The gym is always super clean. The machines are well maintained, and there’s a good number of ergs, so I don’t have to wait to do my cardio.

Will Wu: Great budget gym in Glover Park. Been a member for almost a year and never had any problems with them. Would recommend

Vinicio Aguirre: Wsc Glover is a gym that I highly recommend to the neighborhood or anyone looking to go have a good workout. It’s had major changes since the original Covid transitions. The people there are welcoming and enthusiastic when it comes to its members. If you are an individual that is somewhat of a germaphobe, there is an employee by name of Shanica who works hard keeping the cleanliness of the gym to its highest standards. She makes sure the antibacterial wipes are always stocked and the workout rooms as well as mats are cleaned daily. Overall I believe you come to the gym you’ll agree with my review.

Bernard Holland: I have not been to WSC Glover Park since the pandemic and plan to rejoin when things quiet down. Before that I was there most days for ten years. The elderly black woman Lizzie was referring to is Mahlape who has been there for more than 20 years. Mahlape is the glue that holds that club together. All the people I know that attended the club adored Mahlape. I cannot imagine her being rude undeservedly to anyone. Moreover I have seen a few altercations between staff and members in my time at the club. Invariably it was the members who were at fault.

Long Bridge Aquatics & Fitness Center: what do users think?

Bianca Hutton: Bring your own locker room lock and slippers for locker room/shower areas - the floor is unfinished concrete and pretty gross. For a top notch swim facility the locker rooms and shower leave much to be desired. Pool is nice, lots of extras for kids from baby to early teens and competitive swimmers, but on a Sunday evening for family swim it was a madhouse and incredibly crowded. Lots of parents sitting on the sideline with bags and towels watching their kids swim. Vigilant lifeguards emptied the pool when someone “went to the bathroom” in the water.

Kimberly Martin: Love this place. Was excited about the hot tub, then noticed all the other amenities I like in a gym, even a rope machine. Nice to be along the bridge path to get in a little triathlon training, able to manage all there sports. Only thing missing is an indoor tract (unless I didn’t see it). Pools and community centers are free in DC for DC residents, more than happy to spend my money here. So worth it!

Michael Hunter: Great facility for swim lessons. Copious family changing rooms. Separate recreational pool and 50m / 25 yard (depending on the configuration) pool. The county offers swim lessons here through Parks and Rec, and they go pretty well. Also, the facility has exercise equipment and rooms. It does get crowded, which I suppose means it is a success.

CIintcia MacTavish: Beautiful center… my both kids take swim classes there.

David Gershman: Today I signed up and had a great experience. Mike, in membership, not only showed me around- they answered every question with full clarity, gave me far more insight than I expected, and was simply very nice and sweet. I knew I was going to get a membership going in, but it’s nice to get warmth and comfort instantly upon arrival. Felt like I was one of the regular folks

TPMT Associates: Love it here as usual - they take care of the place and most importantly, the people who works out here take care of the place and is clean and tidy and doesn’t trash the place. As usual, it’s the people who come to gyms that are the messy/dirty and this place doesn’t have those ppl - not that I saw anyways!

John Heinemann: You get what you pay for. This gym doesn’t make sense for everyone, no one is a better person for going here, and a free gym in an apartment building is going to do 90% of what Equinox does. But the other 10%? I actually look forward to working out more when there’s both a sauna and a steam room, a saltwater pool, luxury bath products, memory foam floors for stretching, and refrigerators full of Eucalyptus infused face towels. I go for the amenities, and then I just decide to work out because I’m already there.

Bobbi DeAnda: This pool is HUGE! Water was pretty cold but not as cold as Rumsey…you can adjust to this lol. AND there’s a hot tub!!!!! I always appreciated a ramp entry for the little ones as well. There’s plenty of places to sit (bleachers), it’s warm inside the facility (that’s what made the water temp more bearable too) and there’s lap lanes and a diving board! Overall good. Will definitely be back!

Mary Evans: Very friendly staff. Clean and not too crowded.

Sandie Bonwinkor: I’m currently a new member at this gym, so far I have to say.. everyone has been super nice and the energy of the gym naked me want to go hard (harder of course). The price for the kind of “luxury” gym and energy of the gym I think is worth it. Also, I get gym shy (lol). I quickly got over that because EVERYONE is literally in their own space and world, but super nice. It feels like I’m just kinda working out and doing my thing (which I love).

Hope Greenleaf: Love the pool, the actual gym is great, the classes are just okay, and my favorite part is the luxurious locker rooms complete with sauna and steam room!

Joe Edward: Amazing gym. If they ever close down, a night club could move in without changing a thing.

Todd Marino: Positive: Communication, Professionalism, QualityThe staff is super friendly and down to earth, they definitely took me by surprise! If you go at the right time, the gym is practically empty too; nice spacious, ridiculously clean & modern areas that you only have to share with a few others. I don’t use any of the amenities for your comparison purposes, to include the locker room.

Hanna Foreman: Great neighborhood pool. The staff is friendly and place is fairly well maintained for a public pool. However, finding a lane can be hard during the post 5pm rush so plan accordingly since you will be competing with swim classes and other 9-5ers.

Murad Efendiev: This is bar none the best public pool in dmv area. it needs maintenance but overall unbeatable. not for swimmers who like warm water.

kathleen gough: Great pool, family changing rooms are not in great shape, but the pool itself is worth it.

John Clisham: I just called to get some swim team information... the young man on the other end was extremely helpful and knowledgeable. Thank you!

Tristana Fiscella: Such an amazing pool. Olympic size! Check ahead about which way the lanes go that day. Also there is a large hot tub and a very, very robust kiddy pool area! Afterwards grab a bite at the Whole Foods salad bar or a smoothie at Robeks and hop on the H bus! The sunlight coming through the building really makes this pool awesome.

Chris Peckham: It can be busy at times, but hands down my favorite public pool. The hot tub is amazing.

Mary Evans: Very clean and very quiet. It was a pleasure being there. The staff was super friendly and helpful.

Ricardo Edwards: I have personal training with Tia Miller. She is very dedicated to her work and has led me to a remarkable recovery from a shoulder injury that left my arm almost useless. I started nearly a year ago and now I can enjoy muscle definition and strength all over ! At 71, that is something to be proud of. They offer a very balanced program to fit most needs, including full water aerobics classes. Ample parking is on site, and cost is very reasonable, especially for seniors.

Sharon Winget: Beautiful facility, well run, clean, with diverse fitness opportunities via classes and self-directed.

Michelle Diane: We were blessed to be welcomed by Trinity. Everything was easily located and the staff was wonderful and above the call of duty accommodating. Great place for a convening.

Yvette Ferguson: The pool is not too crowded😊

Imagine sitting in front of a computer screen, organizing files and papers, having important meetings day and night about policies that affect the 50 States if not the World. Yes, I would go again to Balance Gym!

Grace Phillips: Amazing facility! Very clean! Staff is very accommodating. I was only visiting for the holidays and they have a one week and a two week option! Equipment is suitable for heavy lifters and those who desire a simpler workout. They offer tons of classes at great times. I think I found my gym away from home!

Stephanie C. Giancola: An amazing gym with a phenomenal staff! Jacob, the GM was extremely patient and tending to my million questions about what the gym has to offer. Boy, was I surprised! They have a variety of good equipment available, different sections to do turf workouts, weight lifting, cardio, yoga, etc. the building used to be a spa, so the locker rooms are dreamy, and they offer specials on esthetic/massage work upstairs. I was able to take a boot camp class before signing up for a membership. The class was challenging, but within reason. The coach was enthusiastic, and everybody was having a good time. There is a Crossfit section as well! And they even offer classes like solid core, with the Pilates machine! This gym has everything you need, even parking in the back! Ask for Jacob and he’ll set you up. Also—lots of cool freebies like a free personal training session and three free Pilates reformer classes to start you off!

Edward Wendel: Great gym and great trainers. I have been using gym since its opening. I am now 81 (yes, I know, old). Have been training for several years with Razonte Dunn. He may be exceptional at training high performing athletes, but he also has a special gift for taking everyone seriously and taking them to the highest level they can achieve. He not only knows the mechanics of training, he communicates a desire to make you succeed that is contagious. This experience has been life-changing.

Asher Allman: Great gym at an affordable rate. Helpful and responsive staff, both in person trainers and with online/email inquiries. All the equipment you would need, and a really cool atmosphere/space. Big fan!

Rachael Hunt: I want to give 5 stars to Raz, one of the trainers. I’ve been working out with him in his group classes and it’s been a great experience. He is super enthusiastic and always plans engaging and effective workouts. He is a great motivator. If you are ready to push yourself, he’s the trainer for you.

Devon Murphy: Love this gym! Best gym in the area by far. My only recommendation would be to add mirrors in front of ALL the squat racks. It is beyond me why half would have mirrors and half do not.

Benyam Ephrem: Overall: Solid gym, nothing is overtly missing. You can do everything you need to do. Summary: Basically 3 floors, cardio floor, machine + dumbbell floor, powerlifting floor (w/ dumbbell rack). Good: The ambiance and vibe is good. You feel like you are working out in a cave with a bunch of people. Bad: - Working out from 5-6/7 sucks. The gym is too small to serve the load of patrons at rush times. There aren’t enough benches & benches for presses so you find yourself waiting for major lifts. - If you go any other time that is non-rush it is a solid gym - The benches are way too close to the mirrors, you can’t do heavy lifts and drop weights. It just feels cramped. You have to maneuver around people doing heavy lifts and there are just personal space issues (when squatting I don’t want anyone near me, we have mental bubbles). - Maybe picky but the dumbbells are decent ones. I’ve used better with more grip (steel handle with a mesh pattern etched in). They are a bit narrow in grip and have plastic handles with decent grip. This nuance is kind of annoying and grip is worse so I just do few dumbbell movements now. I’d give ~3 1/2 stars but I imagine there is a huge constraint on real-estate within the city so a gym can only be so large, etc (can’t compare it to gyms I’ve been to elsewhere). But at ~$120/130/mo you’d want more space and just…more. But this was the closest complete gym option to me (.8 mile jog) and the vibes are good. Edit: Have visited all other branches. Nice to be able to switch up gyms on a day you have time to jog farther. Great branding & vibe consistency. Great value add if you want to switch things up and drop in other gyms.

Joe Kawly: The most decent gym in DC. But lately, they have been faking short especially when it comesTo maintenance. It feels like each day there is something not working.

Mattia Pallozzi: Honestly I have had always a lovely experience, clean fun and the staff especially has always been pretty amazing, from managers to trainers! 👌🏻👌🏻

Reynaldo Castillo: Positive: ProfessionalismAmazing workout experience from the membership consultation to the quality of the facility. Paul Leiby understood my fitness goals and listened to all my concerns as I came from another gym franchise. I fully endorse the quality of the experience and I guaranty you will see results in your fitness goals.

Willie Graves: I just started going this week and it’s been pretty good. Great location to have this gym. The equipment is well maintained and cleaned, the front desk people are friendly, and the other gym goers are nice also. I wish the men bathroom area was a little more cleaner. Some of the hand soap bottles have been empty for more than two days; one of the stalls didn’t have any toilet paper and the mirrors look nasty. The pool/sauna area looks like it’s still being worked on. Can’t wait for it to open so I can relax after a hard workout.

Sombo Pujeh: Very nice, clean gym facility with friendly and helpful staff. Very spacious with a wide variety of equipment for all fitness interests. The classes are also varied and high quality instructors. They are also adding more classes over time. The pool and sauna are not yet completed but I am looking forward to that as well. For the price of $50 a month (and they also included 2 personal training sessions) I am very satisfied with my membership thus far.

Sadia Turay: I recently moved to the area and I was this close to joining VIDA Fitness when I drove by and saw Onelife. I’m so happy I did! This gym is immaculate and has every equipment+amenity you could ask for. All the staff I’ve interacted with so far are very warm, enthusiastic and willing to help. It’s like they are all genuinely happy to be there. I love how convenient the parking is for their members. They recently opened so it’s very clean and everything operates. My hope is that this continues to be maintained. :)

Marisel Adames-Nunez: Place is awesome! Karsten is the best membership rep there. He’s very nice and cool. So clean, spacious, variety of equipment! A lot of different rooms, machines, and couple classes. Some areas are still under construction but everything else is amazing.

Jeremy Bedor: The manager Bobby is the man. Runs a tight ship, helpful when I needed a guest pass, makes sure the place is clean, stocked and equipment is repaired quickly. Both he and the OneLife team is a great addition to the neighborhood

Hannah: Updating my review after a few months of coming here as a guest. I have found more appreciation for this gym than the gym I belong to. I’ve never had to wait for any equipment here. They have everything you’d need. Never too packed. Still leaks in places is the only thing. Has been consistent $10 since last review. Would join this gym if I lived closer. Lots of gym equipment & heavy weights. Perfect for big dudes who lifting is their passion or small guys who want to get big 💪🏽. Only bad thing is leaks everywhere (Buckets pictured). Cold in the winter. Cost of bringing guests changes every time based on who’s working. $10 to $20 per visit. This place has a lot of potential but needs a little work.

Cam Frasier: I love this gym. Close by and has all the equipment you need to get at it. This is a no frills gym. Just open space and tons of equipment. I go with my fiance to work out together and she is also a fan. She typically works with aerobic, alternative bands, and ropes. I definitely recommend this gym to people who are serious about getting fit!

Iryna F: I really like this gym, not crowded, all needed equipment and very close to my home. Nice customer service! Recommend!

Gerald Regep: I love this gym, hands down. When i moved to DC I looked for a place that was affordable, within walking distance, and had the equipment i needed to stay in shape. Total Source gave me just that. Total Source Fitness is run and owned by Kent, a straight up dude who never fails to ask you how you’re doin. I’ve seen some comments that suggest that TSF is poorly run and a low-quality gym. In my experience, that couldn’t be further from the truth. Kent has been straightforward with me since i first joined the gym. I had an issue where my membership was charged twice in one month, an accident he fixed after I spoke with him. The correction took a week or two, but he made it right and was transparent with me the whole way through. Sometimes things take time with computers and logistics. As long as you’re straight with him, he’ll take care of you. Love this place.

Josten Forsythe: If you’re looking for a gym to get an actual workout in, then Total Source Fitness is the place. With seven squat racks and a bunch of benches, I’ve never waited for a lift. While it’s definitely no frills, the regulars know their way around a gym, making it easy to move around and get work in. What’s more, Kent, the owner, gave me a break on my initiation fee because I’d only be in town for a month. Definitely give Total Source Fitness a try if you’re in town.

Life Time: what do users think?

John V: First let me say the staff here is beyond exemplary. The nicest , most professional, intelligent group of administrators, trainers , cafe and custodial employees , etc . Whoever is in charge at hiring at Lifetime is doing a great job . This simply is the best fitness facility I’ve ever belonged to. I had an issue and it was resolved expeditiously and with real concern. General Manager Brittany is absolutely amazing. Salt of the earth This Lifetime is the more than just a gym it’s has a community center type feel, very close knit. I’m glad to be member.

Jolene Silipigni: I love this place. I’m there at least five days a week. The yoga program is out of this world. They have a variety of classes going on throughout the day. I also love the Pilates program. The instructors are excellent. I just started personal training here and I am so impressed. Pools are beautiful!

Demet Albayrak: LifeTime Reston is a very clean, member friendly lifestyle club. It is more than a gym, with high ceilings, big windows and with great atmosphere. More to it is staff like Nadya! I met Nadya when I first came to tour the facilities back in May. Nadya was friendly, informative and gentle. She is not a sales person, rather a friend! All other staff at the concierge and the rest are great, too. Nadya answered all of my questions and made me feel at home! Members coming to this location all seem very happy. Sauna, Steam room and every corner in this location is well maintained and super clean. I had a chance to eat their healthy chicken salad from the outdoor pool cafe, and I wasn’t expecting to get a tasty salad, loved it. They also have healthy snacks and drinks. Huge parking lot. Even on Memorial Day, we were able to find chairs by the outdoor pool. Definitely recommend who is considering to become a member.

Brad: Got some tough critics in here! Its a great gym, awesome amenities, and overall the staff is excellent. Can get a bit crowded at times but you get your workout in. Would like to see some stella or more lager/pilsner options poolside (#firstworldproblems)!

Daniel W: Great gym!! Good courts, food, spa, weights, pilayes, yoga, cycling everything! Never too busy. Lots of trainers and different machines and free weights. Outdoor pool is like a water park!

Equinox Anthem Row: what do users think?

Stephanie C: Some of the best group fitness instructors and personal trainers I’ve ever met!! Love their classes

Crissi Luv: I love this gym. Spa like and tranquil. The classes are a1. Times are great. Classes all day.

Ryan D: When it comes to a gym, you get what you pay for, and, although this is a bit pricey and restrictive, that added benefits make me want to go to the gym. Excellent free weight section and class offerings. My only suggestion--extend closing hour from 8:00 pm to 10:00 p.m.

Evan Long: Everything you’d expect from the brand, and very seldom crowded except at absolute peak times. They’ve taken enhanced sanitation seriously given COVID, and I particularly appreciate that they kept their word and allowed me to break my one-year contract a couple months early when I moved away.

Wallace Bachman: So glad Equinox has found its way into DC proper! This location is spacious by New York Equinox standards, both on the floor, which is a single floor with ample natural light, and the men’s locker room. It’s very clean, the staff are friendly and beautiful, and everything is in great repair. I’ve never been to an Equinox where the stretching area was so well-equipped (bands etc etc) and well organized. The Juice Press was small and didn’t have much, but that seems to be the way of Equinox juice bars over the last several years. 😢
