Anthony Bowen Branch YMCA: what do users think?
Forrest Cory
Forrest Cory: Beautiful YMCA neatly tucked in the heart of DC. Awesome Life Fitness, Hammer Strength and Cybex equipment, a rock wall, swimming pool and friendly staff and trainers. Parking isn’t too bad considering the area and there is a garage around the corner . Highly recommended!
Roxette Caba
Roxette Caba: Went today for a tour. The young man who gave me a tour was very nice. The women at the front disk was not friendly or welcome at all. The monthly fee is outrageous for the YMCA! $109/month?! The facility is nice but not worth that much! Plus the whole mission of the YMCA is to be affordable and community driven. Overall very disappointed. I’ve been a member of YMCA in Massachusetts all over and it’s not this expensive and unfriendly.
Andrew Jacobs
Andrew Jacobs: Echoing the poor front desk service. I called membership yesterday and they encouraged me to show up today for a tour and three-day guest pass. When I arrived the front desk was skeptical of my call, asked me who I spoke with, at what time, etc. They said there are no such thing as three day trial periods. They also told me they couldn’t bring me on a tour without an ID on me (which I didn’t have because I ran over to the gym from my apartment). I was immediately turned off — they missed out on a member!
Ana Marioni
Ana Marioni: Very poor customer service from the front desk. As a nationwide Y member for 4 years, I have never been treated with such disrespect. Extremely unprofessional and rude. Overall the gym is great besides the front desk receptionists.
Gigi Mathews
Gigi Mathews: Great facility, location. Since pandemic the schedules/classes are in disarray - very few classes offered now are at the weirdest hours for anyone who works during the day. Thursday - Sunday, when most people are relatively free, they have the least amount of classes.
Andrei Jacobs
Andrei Jacobs: Well maintained but too small if you wanna get to a few pieces of equipment. Its a Nice community but smallish gym.

Washington-Liberty Aquatics Center: what do users think?
Brenda Fonseca
Brenda Fonseca: Clean, water is not cold (it is nice to see my daughter swiming without purple lips or shaking).
Nassim Safadi
Nassim Safadi: This pool is very nice. Have a big changing room with shower and a locker space for you belonging. The kids swim lesson is fun the instructors are very knowledgeable they take time with kids to learn how to independent swimmers
Sarah Cox
Sarah Cox: We had a blast with our 5yo son. The pool was a bit cold. It worked well when our hotel who advertised a pool did not have one! Thank you!
JX Mrs
JX Mrs: I took several swimming lessons here, and the instructors were very nice and I learned a lot. What drive me down to give a 1 star is the management team. After the lessons I got a 3-month membership with this location. However now, they are closed for almost half month. They don’t notice you with email, they just assume you know everything. I emailed the manager to ask if my membership will be extend to make up the half month they close for maintenance, and now 4or 5 days passed, I received nothing reply upon my question. I guess I paid for nothing. Horrible management team, although the good environment of swimming is ruined and wasted. That’s how I feel now with this place!
Vinni
Vinni: This is a great pool, with six Lanes, sometimes eight Lanes, but it certainly gets crowded Monday through Thursday evening after work. Be ready to swim 3 to a lane on those evenings. Best times to go for it not being crowded is Friday night
Mason Eoyang
Mason Eoyang: The kids area gets real crowded in the evenings with classes, and so. Times its a struggle to find a lane, but the facilities are nice, well staffed and reasonably clean for a public pool. Arlington county residents get a discount for entry, all others pay full price (check website for current prices)
Sofía Fonseca Muñoz
Sofía Fonseca Muñoz: It is a very nice pool and they are very organized for avoid contact due to covid. The booking system is nice, I just wish that you could book two days in advance or so.
Michael Goldring
Michael Goldring: Washington-Lee is a great facility. I always get a good workout there. The competition pool is very well designed and maintained. The water quality and temperature are excellent. The staff is friendly and helpful. It is open both to residents and non-residents. I travel a lot, and swim in many pools. Washington-Lee is one of the best anywhere.
john jonson
john jonson: 10 swim lanes open seven days a week. It can get crowded so plan on having to share the swim lane. It could be improved by better management as there are often multiple classes going on at once with 1 lane open for everyone else.

Washington Sports Clubs - Glover Park: what do users think?
My Comment
My Comment: Great neighborhood gym. Staff there -- Mahlape, Olga, Luis -- who are there in the mornings are friendly and quick to help if you have questions. You get a neighborhood vibe from the place as compared to the nameless big gyms. Especially during the pandemic you can see the extra effort they put in to keep the place clean, open, and welcoming. They make you feel part of a family. Glad to be a Glover Park member.
Response: Judd, We can't thank you enough for your 5-star rating of our Glover Park location. It means the world to us and lets us know we're on the right track! We are thrilled to hear that our team members are always welcoming, as we strive to deliver the best customer service. We are always happy to help should you ever need assistance in the future. Jason Yeung
Jason Yeung: Been a member for several months now. I’ve haven’t had a negative experience with team members. The people that workout here are also very respectful and friendly. In response to a negative review of a team member I wanted to share my experience with her. Towards me, she’s always been friendly and hospitable. She does her best to remember everyone by name and notices when your workout buddy isn’t with you, even to the point of asking if they’re ok. The lack of a 5th star is not because of the staff. I wish there were bumper plates, another squat rack, and high quality barbells. That’s most likely a corporate issue.
Response: Jason, We appreciate the time you took to rate our Glover Park location. Thanks for acknowledging our team members daily efforts. We would like to thank you for your constructive feedback. We are continuously working to make improvements when it comes to delivering the best fitness experience. If you would like to share any additional feedback, we are here to listen with care. You can reach us at Heretohelp@tsiclubs.com. All the best, Here to Help Team
Ricardo Martinez
Ricardo Martinez: I must disagree with a previous review. Malape is a value member of the gym, she is courteous, polite and nice in general. If there is a piece of equipment that is behind the desk, she would gladly point it to me so I can grab it (due to COVID). Luis is another great asset to the gym, he always looks to have everything ready and clean for us to workout early in the morning, always say hi with a smile and good attitude. I am appreciative of their work.
Response: Ricardo, We always enjoy hearing what our customers have to say. Thanks for shouting out our awesome team members Malape and Luis. We're glad we could be of service and that you had a great experience at our Glover Park location. Thank you for taking the time to leave this review, and we appreciate your kind words. We are always here to listen with care. You can reach us at Heretohelp@tsiclubs.com should you ever need assistance in the future. Thanks again, Here to Help Team
John Byrne
John Byrne: This is a great sports club with a friendly neighborhood atmosphere. Mahlape has always been an incredible asset -- friendly, professional and knowledgeable -- and Luis keeps everything extremely clean. The club was renovated a few years ago, and there is great equipment and a lot of space. Also, very easy to get to on Wisconsin Avenue.
Response: John, Thank you for being a loyal member of our Glover Park location. Many thanks for thinking of us and leaving a 5-Star review. We would also like to thank you for recognizing our team members Mahlape and Luis. We're grateful for your trust, confidence, and business in choosing Washington Sports Clubs as your fitness provider. We hope to continue to exceed your expectations. You can always share feedback, or should you ever need assistance; you can reach us at Heretohelp@tsiclubs.com. Thanks again, Here to Help Team
Alexandre B. Sagna
Alexandre B. Sagna: I love ❤️ being part of Washington Sport Club Glover Park. The whole staff is friendly 😊. Brought two of my buddies to train with me and they loved it. Yes it’s tiny that’s true so if you don’t like being close to each other I recommend not to come around pick time 😊.
Response: Dear Alexandre, Thanks so much for taking the time to share such positive feedback! It is truly touching to know you think so highly of us and are sharing this experience with your friends! If you ever need anything please don't hesitate to reach out to our team at HereToHelp@tsiclubs.com. Thanks again, HereToHelp Team
Joao Pedro
Joao Pedro: Very friendly staff and great customer service! I also want to kindly disagree with what was said in the latest review since I believe that the “older black woman”, as she was referred, is actually a valuable member and a very nice person who contributes a lot to the gym with her nice work. I only have great words to say about the whole team that works there. The gym is always super clean. The machines are well maintained, and there’s a good number of ergs, so I don’t have to wait to do my cardio.
Response: Thank you for the kind words, João! We’re so happy your membership experience went so smoothly. We love to provide great service to awesome members like you. If you ever need anything please do not hesitate to reach out to HeretoHelp@tsiclubs.com. Thanks again! Marc Digital Member Relations Manager

Will Wu: Great budget gym in Glover Park. Been a member for almost a year and never had any problems with them. Would recommend

Vinicio Aguirre
Vinicio Aguirre: Wsc Glover is a gym that I highly recommend to the neighborhood or anyone looking to go have a good workout. It’s had major changes since the original Covid transitions. The people there are welcoming and enthusiastic when it comes to its members. If you are an individual that is somewhat of a germaphobe, there is an employee by name of Shanica who works hard keeping the cleanliness of the gym to its highest standards. She makes sure the antibacterial wipes are always stocked and the workout rooms as well as mats are cleaned daily. Overall I believe you come to the gym you’ll agree with my review.
Response: Hi Vinicio - thank you very much for your review of our Glover Park location! We are so thrilled to hear that you are enjoying our club. We appreciate your continued loyalty and if there is any further feedback that you wish to send us, please contact us at HereToHelp@tsiclubs.com. Thanks again, HereToHelp Team
Bernard Holland
Bernard Holland: I have not been to WSC Glover Park since the pandemic and plan to rejoin when things quiet down. Before that I was there most days for ten years. The elderly black woman Lizzie was referring to is Mahlape who has been there for more than 20 years. Mahlape is the glue that holds that club together. All the people I know that attended the club adored Mahlape. I cannot imagine her being rude undeservedly to anyone. Moreover I have seen a few altercations between staff and members in my time at the club. Invariably it was the members who were at fault.
Response: Bernard, Thank you for taking the time to rate our Glover Park location. Your satisfaction is our priority, and we take pride in delivering exceptional service. We look forward to your return and continuing to support your fitness journey. We are always here if you ever need assistance in the future. You can always reach us at Heretohelp@tsiclubs.com. Long Bridge Aquatics & Fitness Center: what do users think?
Bianca Hutton
Bianca Hutton: Bring your own locker room lock and slippers for locker room/shower areas - the floor is unfinished concrete and pretty gross. For a top notch swim facility the locker rooms and shower leave much to be desired. Pool is nice, lots of extras for kids from baby to early teens and competitive swimmers, but on a Sunday evening for family swim it was a madhouse and incredibly crowded. Lots of parents sitting on the sideline with bags and towels watching their kids swim. Vigilant lifeguards emptied the pool when someone “went to the bathroom” in the water.
Shannon Israelsen
Shannon Israelsen: Brand new and beautiful, the Long Bridge Aquatics and Fitness Center is a nice addition to Arlington County. The locker rooms are nice - I’ve only been in the multi-person this far. I appreciate this because it allows my husband to come along and help get our two toddlers ready for swim class. It is odd, however, that there are no benches by the lockers to sit anything on or sit down on; I suppose this is because they want people to change in the actual changing rooms within the locker room for privacy reasons. The swimsuit dryers are a nice little touch in the locker rooms. The facilities are very nice and the pool is fine. There could be a lot more to the play area for children and it feels like it is really lacking. The really cool-looking slide is only open on weekends, maybe, and has a pretty tall height requirement without the option for littles to ride with an adult - a huge bummer when there isn’t much for the kids to play on otherwise. The water temp is a little cool. My kids (and others that I’ve observed) come out of the pool shivering after swim lessons. Also, having to pay for parking is ridiculous! There is a need to restrict parking so that commuters don’t fill up the lot, but they could offer free one or two-hour parking! They’re already charging to use the facility, so it’s just another way to make money and it’s annoying. I was pleased to learn that my child’s swim lessons came with a parking pass to use, but anyone coming and paying to swim or workout shouldn’t have to pay to park. Overall, Arlington could have done better, but it’s better than not having anything at all.
Kimberly Martin
Kimberly Martin: Love this place. Was excited about the hot tub, then noticed all the other amenities I like in a gym, even a rope machine. Nice to be along the bridge path to get in a little triathlon training, able to manage all there sports. Only thing missing is an indoor tract (unless I didn’t see it). Pools and community centers are free in DC for DC residents, more than happy to spend my money here. So worth it!
Michael Hunter
Michael Hunter: Great facility for swim lessons. Copious family changing rooms. Separate recreational pool and 50m / 25 yard (depending on the configuration) pool. The county offers swim lessons here through Parks and Rec, and they go pretty well. Also, the facility has exercise equipment and rooms. It does get crowded, which I suppose means it is a success.
Andrew Schlegel
Andrew Schlegel: The facilities are definitely top-notch, but getting a lane is another story. AAC reserves the whole pool for an hour, but they take 2/3rds of it for the remainder of every evening, the practical effect of which is standing around and waiting to share lanes with people who do not know how to share wide lanes. Go at a different, less busy time? Oop only one life guard so 2/3rds of the pool is shut down, which is especially frustrating when you walk by the admin office packed with staff sitting at computers. For the price, you do a lot of waiting. Also, be careful if you arrive on a bike. The crowd of Tesla and Porsche parents in a hurry and ready to mow over other swimmers is sizeable.
CIintcia MacTavish
CIintcia MacTavish: Beautiful center… my both kids take swim classes there.
Maria Stoica
Maria Stoica: I would love to take my baby here for a swimming class, but unfortunately there is no public transportation at this center. Arlington county website claims there is public transportation to this location, but a half hour walk, part of which is quite unpleasant, does not seem accessible to me. Additionally, why would they put a huge parking lot in FRONT of the venue so that as a pedestrian you have to cross the entire parking lot to get to where you need to go. Such poor planning/design. Very disappointed in Arlington County.

Equinox Sports Club Washington, D.C.: what do users think?
David Gershman
David Gershman: Today I signed up and had a great experience. Mike, in membership, not only showed me around- they answered every question with full clarity, gave me far more insight than I expected, and was simply very nice and sweet. I knew I was going to get a membership going in, but it’s nice to get warmth and comfort instantly upon arrival. Felt like I was one of the regular folks
Response: Hi David, thanks for the 5 stars!
June Wade
June Wade: Scheduled a spa massage for my friend’s birthday at the Ritz Carlton/ Equinox (Foggy Bottom) location. The staff was courteous and the gym was clean. I was disappointed the spa does not offer champagne or snacks for special occasions, instead we were given “swag bags” full of gym advertisements and trinkets. If you’re not a guest at the hotel, arriving early is highly recommended (parking, etc). Must walk outside to enter Equinox since elevator access to spa is for guest only. My massage therapist was (Donna) friendly, courteous but chatty. I was not interested in talking about where I live, hearing comments about my “poor”elbows🙄 or asking why my shoulders were so tight during my 80 minute massage. Unfortunately , the massage was not good (technique). Ambiance was fair in the room, there was no soothing music or waterfall fountains, just dim lights, and a cool quiet room. The warm bed with robes was a nice perk. Not a fan of the massage lotion (dry paste) used, she had to continuously spend time stepping away from the massage to reapply. I’m giving this spa 3 stars ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️since my girlfriend had a positive experience with her masseuse. In addition, they provided a quiet space and champagne glasses for us to enjoy our BYOB champagne post massage. Would not recommend, lacks luxury for the price. $500+ ( 2 people)
TPMT Associates
TPMT Associates: Love it here as usual - they take care of the place and most importantly, the people who works out here take care of the place and is clean and tidy and doesn’t trash the place. As usual, it’s the people who come to gyms that are the messy/dirty and this place doesn’t have those ppl - not that I saw anyways!
Response: Thank you for reviewing!
John Heinemann
John Heinemann: You get what you pay for. This gym doesn’t make sense for everyone, no one is a better person for going here, and a free gym in an apartment building is going to do 90% of what Equinox does. But the other 10%? I actually look forward to working out more when there’s both a sauna and a steam room, a saltwater pool, luxury bath products, memory foam floors for stretching, and refrigerators full of Eucalyptus infused face towels. I go for the amenities, and then I just decide to work out because I’m already there.
Response: Thanks for the 5 stars, John! Glad to hear you are enjoying our amenities.
Gelila Sebhatu
Gelila Sebhatu: I called to inquiry about membership packages and I found the sales rep, Erica, a little rude and she did not directly answer my questions, which was irritating. Based on the reviews here, I’m not surprised I received this type of experience. I guess I’ll be looking elsewhere. I just wanted a nearby pool 🏊‍♀️
Response: Hi Gelila, we are sorry to hear you had this experience. We hope that you will give us another shot to show you we are capable of better service.
Ebony Williams
Ebony Williams: Do not work at equinox if you have living situation or just a situation period the manger Duane don’t care if you have living situation problems he even told one of the employees that mid shift is childish because we all going through something sorry if you hired people who have living situation or who gave problems and be careful of the Towels and hand towels they wash them in hot water only no solution that why the towels look a little dirty Yess I use to work their and got fired because I was trying to find a place to stay the days I called out because I was homeless the cleaning manger is horrible at his job and HR needs to send a Secret Santana to see how they clean the place

Turkey Thicket Aquatic Facility: what do users think?
Bobbi DeAnda
Bobbi DeAnda: This pool is HUGE! Water was pretty cold but not as cold as Rumsey…you can adjust to this lol. AND there’s a hot tub!!!!! I always appreciated a ramp entry for the little ones as well. There’s plenty of places to sit (bleachers), it’s warm inside the facility (that’s what made the water temp more bearable too) and there’s lap lanes and a diving board! Overall good. Will definitely be back!
Mary Evans
Mary Evans: Very friendly staff. Clean and not too crowded.
Jessica Martinez
Jessica Martinez: What looks to be a nice and clean pool is an actual pool that is dirty. The staff is so rude in particularly an elder lifeguard (guy). We were there no longer than 10 minutes when he was yelling across the pool. He was rude as ever and blowing his whistle every two minutes for no reason. The water was freezing even in the baby pool which is unacceptable. I am highly unsatisfied and will never bring my kids.

VIDA Fitness at The Yards: what do users think?
Kelly Blackwell
Kelly Blackwell: Is it a gym with standard equipment, yes. Is it convenient if you live in Navy Yard, yes. Are the extra perks they promise you worth the over priced membership, NO! Will you get the run around when trying to book your “complimentary training sessions”, YES! Will you get the run around when you want to stop your membership, YES! You’re an adult, make your own choice. Just know this is clearly a place with pressure on numbers so take that for what you want. Don’t go excited to start a fitness program because the trainers won’t respond and it will kill any motivation you have. Just be warned that this is probably not a place for anyone starting a new journey or looking for help. But if you just want a place to go, maybe it’s for you if you don’t mind the high cost.
Response: Hi Ron, thank you so much for the time to provide this feedback about your experience. We appreciate your business and strive to make sure all of our members have great experiences. We want to make this right! Please contact that location directly at 202-554-0444 so we can make sure your issues get resolved. Thank you for your business.
Sandie Bonwinkor
Sandie Bonwinkor: I’m currently a new member at this gym, so far I have to say.. everyone has been super nice and the energy of the gym naked me want to go hard (harder of course). The price for the kind of “luxury” gym and energy of the gym I think is worth it. Also, I get gym shy (lol). I quickly got over that because EVERYONE is literally in their own space and world, but super nice. It feels like I’m just kinda working out and doing my thing (which I love).
Response: Thanks for the review! We are pleased that you feel comfortable working out with us here at VIDA Fitness at The Yards. We strive to create a welcoming and accessible environment, and it sounds like we've achieved this! See you again for your next workout.
Spiro Dimakas
Spiro Dimakas: Great gym and staff. Clean and newer equipment. Parking is very problematic after 3pm and routinely cars are double parked in the lot. Limited street parking and the larger lot at the grocery store doesn’t honor cross validation so you’ll end up missing a lot of workouts if your plan is to drive after work. If you don’t drive this is a great gym to go to!
Response: Hi Spiro, thanks for the review and glad to hear you enjoy the gym. We totally appreciate that parking can sometimes be tricky, especially during peak hours, and have tried to alleviate that with the subsidized parking in the garage under the facility. We'll keep an eye on the double parking issue down there. Thanks again and hope to see you at the Yards soon!
Hope Greenleaf
Hope Greenleaf: Love the pool, the actual gym is great, the classes are just okay, and my favorite part is the luxurious locker rooms complete with sauna and steam room!
Response: Hi Hope, thanks so much for this review! We're happy to hear you have been enjoying the locker rooms, as well as the steam room and sauna. The pool is one of our favorite spots as well. Please stop by the front desk let us know how we can make the classes better! Thanks again for your feedback and see you at the Yards again soon!
David Gershman
David Gershman: Considering VIDA - on JUNETEENTH OF ALL DAY - made a WATERMELON-based cocktail speaks to the RACISM the company possesses. Can’t imagine what it’s like to carry that much hate. I feel bad for Vida— I feel bad for those whose values are such.
Joe Edward
Joe Edward: Amazing gym. If they ever close down, a night club could move in without changing a thing.
Response: Hi Joe, thanks so much for the 5 star review. What can we say, we like a gym that knows how to have good time! We're glad to hear you're enjoying the facilities at The Yards and can't wait to see you back again soon. In the meantime stay happy, stay healthy, and stay well! - The VIDA Team
Todd Marino
Todd Marino: Positive: Communication, Professionalism, QualityThe staff is super friendly and down to earth, they definitely took me by surprise! If you go at the right time, the gym is practically empty too; nice spacious, ridiculously clean & modern areas that you only have to share with a few others. I don’t use any of the amenities for your comparison purposes, to include the locker room.

Wilson Aquatic Center: what do users think?
Hanna Foreman
Hanna Foreman: Great neighborhood pool. The staff is friendly and place is fairly well maintained for a public pool. However, finding a lane can be hard during the post 5pm rush so plan accordingly since you will be competing with swim classes and other 9-5ers.
armis sadri
armis sadri: I’ve been a competitive swimmer & lifeguard for years. Unfortunately DC public amenities have never been of good quality and this applies to this public swimming pool. Honestly doesn’t deserve a one-star. 1. Wilson pool is always full. I tried coming on early mornings, mid-day & afterwork and 5-6 lines are always closed no matter what for different and random classes and meet ups and so called lack of staff while they literally do push ups and play group activities near the children pool. It’s intentional as enough staff walk around the pool doing nothing or are in the life guard room checking phones. 2. After work during the week is awful since besides those 5-6 closed lines, 3 ppl end up swimming in a lane which should be illegal and while you’re swimming random meet up groups show up claiming it’s their line so ppl end up waiting 10-15mins for two lanes and they don’t allow you to swim in the children’s pool. It’s a joke just wasting your time arguing with staff who have no common sense and threaten you to call police if you swim in children pool 3. Stay away from this pool as it’s too dirty with no supervise. Once I was swimming and noticed some stuff goes into my mouth went down deep and noticed there were so many used bandaids in the water, let the lifeguard know and they just came and said gross, didn’t even bother to close the lane and clean. 4. Amenities and shower are so gross and dirty full of empty bottles of shampoo and ppl’s hair clogging the shower. 5. Brought all these issues to the attention of pool’s manger and DC team and no response just heard it is what is. 6. Nothing is posted on their webpage in terms of what classes at what times are going, what lanes or how many lanes will be closed or they’ll be closed because of an event you go all the way and noticed sth on the door so call in advance. 7. As a swimmer, I tried three competition pools in Virginia (NOVA) and regret living in DC, the VA pools were so clean and well maintained. DC residents suffer with such low quality and scarce public amenities and council members. 8. Avoid this pool unless you have no option and just want to go swim, do lapses in your lunch break hoping you won’t get sick.
Murad Efendiev
Murad Efendiev: This is bar none the best public pool in dmv area. it needs maintenance but overall unbeatable. not for swimmers who like warm water.
kathleen gough
kathleen gough: Great pool, family changing rooms are not in great shape, but the pool itself is worth it.
John Clisham
John Clisham: I just called to get some swim team information... the young man on the other end was extremely helpful and knowledgeable. Thank you!
Tristana Fiscella
Tristana Fiscella: Such an amazing pool. Olympic size! Check ahead about which way the lanes go that day. Also there is a large hot tub and a very, very robust kiddy pool area! Afterwards grab a bite at the Whole Foods salad bar or a smoothie at Robeks and hop on the H bus! The sunlight coming through the building really makes this pool awesome.
Chris Peckham
Chris Peckham: It can be busy at times, but hands down my favorite public pool. The hot tub is amazing.
Eric Wuechner
Eric Wuechner: About one theft (locker break in) a week, according to the police, so purchase a heavy-duty lock, and you should be ok. The pool can be frigid, so be prepared. M, W, F, S 50 meter pool.

Mary Evans
Mary Evans: Very clean and very quiet. It was a pleasure being there. The staff was super friendly and helpful.
Ricardo Edwards
Ricardo Edwards: I have personal training with Tia Miller. She is very dedicated to her work and has led me to a remarkable recovery from a shoulder injury that left my arm almost useless. I started nearly a year ago and now I can enjoy muscle definition and strength all over ! At 71, that is something to be proud of. They offer a very balanced program to fit most needs, including full water aerobics classes. Ample parking is on site, and cost is very reasonable, especially for seniors.
Sharon Winget
Sharon Winget: Beautiful facility, well run, clean, with diverse fitness opportunities via classes and self-directed.
Michelle Diane

Washington Sports Clubs - Columbia Heights: what do users think?
Kuntal Sen, MD, FACMG
Kuntal Sen, MD, FACMG: My poor review is due to following reasons: My trainer left abruptly without notice. I was charged for cancelling my session with him even though it was their fault. I have disputed the credit card charge. They are infamous for wrongly charging customers and fraudulent activity. They implemented covid vaccine card policy which was nice but didn’t inform customers. I and others was treated very unprofessionally by front desk during this day.
Response: Kuntal, We're sorry to hear of your less than satisfactory experience at our Columbia Heights location. We hope you will accept our sincerest apologies. We are committed to providing a great fitness experience, and we would like to make things right. Please send us an email to Heretohelp@tsiclubs.com so that we can determine how we can provide you with a solution. We value our customers' opinions and thank you for bringing this to our attention. All the best, Here to Help Team
Conor O'Reilly
Conor O'Reilly: I had a personal training session with Phil and he did a great job! He taught me a lot about free weights and stretching. Now I feel more comfortable to use the more advanced equipment. They also have a pool, sauna, and basketball court. Love this place
Response: Conor, Thank you for taking a moment to leave such a positive review for our Columbia Heights location and sharing your experience with our personal trainer, Phil. We are pleased to hear you enjoyed your personal training session with him and feel more comfortable with using the equipment around the facility. If you ever need anything, please do not hesitate to reach out to HeretoHelp@tsiclubs.com. Thanks again, Here to Help Team
Terry Chasteen
Terry Chasteen: I joined on a special rate, maybe it was 2018. Due to my own fault, I never used the gym ... not once. I cannot blame that on anyone else, however I would have thought with a new client in a business like this, someone would have reached out; invited me in for a tour, found out why I was paying monthly but never using the facility. No one ever contacted me for the full year that I was billed. That is not the worst part, however, Even though it was NOT in the contract, they automatically renewed my membership without my approval and not only at my original rate but almost $30/mo above. This went on for a year since I never used that credit card and it was paid monthly automatically by my bank. Only bc of sething else on the card did I notice the fraudulant charges and they were too old for my bank to recover.
Response: Terry, Thank you for reaching out regarding your experience at our Columbia Heights location. We’re always looking to make things right. We do truly appreciate the feedback as we’re always looking for ways to improve our member experience. Thanks for taking the time to leave this review and we hope you will provide us with an opportunity to do better. Please let us know if there is anything we can do for you by emailing us at Heretohelp@tsiclubs.com. All the best, Here to Help Team
Benyam Ephrem
Benyam Ephrem: Scheduled an InBody scan a week ago (as a non-member), came in prepped for the scan (no breakfast) at 10am - front desk said they did not have an appointment asking if I received a confirmation email (I said I got no calls or emails), then made me scan a QR code on a banner to schedule for another day since apparently the person doing the scans would be in at 5pm. Frustrating experience. Will not be coming back to the gym.
Response: Benyam, We are terribly sorry for your experience at our Columbia Heights location. It is because of customers like you that we can continue to learn how to improve. We are most certainly sad to hear that we fell short. We want to contact you and learn more about your recent experience. Please feel free to send us an email with additional details to Heretohelp@tsiclubs.com. All the best, Here to Help Team
Gregory Alan
Gregory Alan: Critical: QualityMediocre at best. See attached pictures below. The equipment is not well maintained and does not justify the cost of membership. Also the club hours are terrible on the weekends.
Response: Gregory, thank you very much for your feedback. We take our member's insights to heart, and we apologize for not providing you with the best possible experience in our clubs. As you know, the pandemic has presented a unique set of obstacles for most business but has especially affected the fitness industry. Thaiz Alicia: Do not come to this gym!!! They do not care for your safety!! They will cancel your membership for protecting yourself from weird men that will follow you around ! Stay safe and go to a gym that will help you out and help you enjoy your gym experience instead of canceling your membership!
Mahvash Edrissi
Mahvash Edrissi: I started going to gym a month ago, first it was difficult to come out after so long time lock down. But after few days I got used to it now i want to go there everyday. Friendy staff, and clean place, and all equipment makes this place great. I do my exercise, take a shower and saunas, afterwards I feel great about myself. Thank you wsc
Response: Mahvash, We're delighted to hear about your experience. We truly appreciate your recommendation of our Columbia Heights location. We will work hard to continue going above and beyond. Bita Kh
Bita Kh: The worst customer service I’ve ever seen. Nobody takes responsibility for the actions. They charge me with new fee membership that is more than the original one because of the mistake that made by themselves. I’ve spoke with customer service and sales department several times, everybody already aware of this problem but no action. When I follow up they send me to new person. This is absurd.

Balance Gym: Glover Park: what do users think?
Ashley M
Ashley M: I joined and was told the top floor would be closing in a week, but that ALL equipment and amenities would be retained (I was most interested in the sauna and Olympic weightlifting platforms). VERY disappointed in the false advertising. There is no longer a sauna, the locker room is TINY (the old one was super nice, the one available now is not), they got rid of the 2 Olympic weightlifting platforms, and when you email the manager to ask questions he ignores you. Really annoyed that I pay $100 a month and was told the gym has what I was looking for. When I talked to the front desk person (because the manager ignores emails), she said, “well you could go to one of our other locations if you want a sauna.” I tried to set up personal training, which you’re supposed to get 1 free session when you join, and I never could get a response from the person I was supposed to be hearing from. The person who works the front desk in the morning is often not there, so you have to wait around to get your parking validated. The pros: I really like the downstairs weightlifting room. It has a bunch of racks and free weights, and is technically a CrossFit gym even though there aren’t any official CrossFit classes offered. Some of the racks are really close together if you’re oly lifting, but we make it work. I also like that there is free parking at this location, unlike many others. Bring back the sauna and yoga classes and I’ll give a much higher rating. I can live without the oly platforms.
C E
C E: The Go for It spirit at Balance Gym is beyond impeccable. All of us want to help out in the contribution to our wonderful community held together by the strength of our Federal Government. Imagine sitting in front of a computer screen, organizing files and papers, having important meetings day and night about policies that affect the 50 States if not the World. Yes, I would go again to Balance Gym!
Grace Phillips
Grace Phillips: Amazing facility! Very clean! Staff is very accommodating. I was only visiting for the holidays and they have a one week and a two week option! Equipment is suitable for heavy lifters and those who desire a simpler workout. They offer tons of classes at great times. I think I found my gym away from home!
Stephanie C. Giancola
Stephanie C. Giancola: An amazing gym with a phenomenal staff! Jacob, the GM was extremely patient and tending to my million questions about what the gym has to offer. Boy, was I surprised! They have a variety of good equipment available, different sections to do turf workouts, weight lifting, cardio, yoga, etc. the building used to be a spa, so the locker rooms are dreamy, and they offer specials on esthetic/massage work upstairs. I was able to take a boot camp class before signing up for a membership. The class was challenging, but within reason. The coach was enthusiastic, and everybody was having a good time. There is a Crossfit section as well! And they even offer classes like solid core, with the Pilates machine! This gym has everything you need, even parking in the back! Ask for Jacob and he’ll set you up. Also—lots of cool freebies like a free personal training session and three free Pilates reformer classes to start you off!
Response: Hi Stephanie - Thank you so much for such a detailed and positive review! Our entire team is dedicated to providing the highest quality fitness offering at a reasonable cost - very glad to hear you are among our satisfied customers! Look forward to seeing you soon at the gym! -Jacob
Aaron E.
Aaron E.: Beware of their misleading billing policies! I was a member here for a year. I emailed them in early January 2019 to cancel my membership and received a response saying (in all bold font) that since I had pre-paid my final payment, I would “have no further payments due,” and my membership would run out on March 8. Much to my surprise then, Balance charged me $29 on February 15. I emailed them and asked that this charge be removed since I was previously told that I had no further payments. The billing person (Alex) quite rudely responded to me stating that this $29 is an “enhancement fee” charged to all members on 2/15. When I insisted that this charge be reversed because I was misled by their original email, I was simply told no and that this is part of the membership agreement. A proper business would have apologized for misleading me and offered a refund for the $29. Balance, however, clearly only cares about getting as much money out of you as they can.
Response: As a courtesy, Aaron was issued a refund and we have since resolved this issue with better communication about our membership policies.

Lerner Health and Wellness Center: what do users think?
Mikayla Betancourt
Mikayla Betancourt: All the equipment is old, delapidated and worn out. Machines dont adjust. The gym is tiny, and mostly treadmills. There arent enough weights for more than 10 people to work out at a time. Its like a cave. MOST IMPORTANTLY, there are NO sanitary whipes. Disgusting.
Shaun Coles
Shaun Coles: Air conditioning doesn’t work in the summer time. This has been on going for the 5 years I’ve been a member. Broken equipment not serviced in a timely fashion, blue floor mats are disgusting....maybe this is why multiple ppl claimed to have contracted MRSA from this gym. I wipe everything down before i used it. The vending machines take your money without giving you anything. Their summer hours are terrible, you might as well find another gym. Summer hours 6:30am-11 closed from 11-3 and reopens from 3-8p. They are closed during holidays. At times they are closed for 1-2 weeks at a time (for annual maintenance and various reasons) however, your Membership fee is never prorated. I really dislike this gym for those reasons. They’re cheaper and better gyms around but Ive stayed this long because it’s convenient to work. My membership fee is $40
Jon Davis
Jon Davis: Although the equipment at this gym is very respectable, it is insanely crowded. If you do not go during off hours, it may be pointless to workout, especially for people who focus primarily on free weights and machines.
erik miller
erik miller: Excellent service, they get you in and out without wasting your time. I was surprised at how quickly they processed my information, and how courteous and professional everyone was during my entire visit. Thank you !!

Capitol Hill Sport&Health: what do users think?
Edward Wendel
Edward Wendel: Great gym and great trainers. I have been using gym since its opening. I am now 81 (yes, I know, old). Have been training for several years with Razonte Dunn. He may be exceptional at training high performing athletes, but he also has a special gift for taking everyone seriously and taking them to the highest level they can achieve. He not only knows the mechanics of training, he communicates a desire to make you succeed that is contagious. This experience has been life-changing.
Response: Hi Edward, Thank you for the 5-stars! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Asher Allman
Asher Allman: Great gym at an affordable rate. Helpful and responsive staff, both in person trainers and with online/email inquiries. All the equipment you would need, and a really cool atmosphere/space. Big fan!
Response: Hi Asher, Thank you for the 5-stars! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Rachael Hunt
Rachael Hunt: I want to give 5 stars to Raz, one of the trainers. I’ve been working out with him in his group classes and it’s been a great experience. He is super enthusiastic and always plans engaging and effective workouts. He is a great motivator. If you are ready to push yourself, he’s the trainer for you.
Response: Hi Rachael, We are happy to hear you had a positive experience at Capitol Hill Sport&Health! We value your input and encourage you to let us know more details about your experience with us.
Sam C
Sam C: I do not recommend this gym, they have terribly dishonest billing practices. It borders on a scam. I requested cancellation of my account during COVID, and was told on the phone that "as a courtesy" they would instead freeze my account until I was ready to start coming back. 3 months later, they started billing me again. Shame on me, I only noticed this 4-5 months later. When I contacted them, they said "you are not eligible for a refund without proof of a previous written request to extend the freeze on your account." Despite the fact I was never told I would need to request an extension. I was never told I needed an extension, I was told to contact them when I wanted to come back. Reading through other reviews, it appears this is a common problem.
Response: Hello [NAME] If you’re open to discussing your experience further, please call us at (202) 234-5678. We’d greatly appreciate the opportunity to make things right and work toward earning back your business.
Devon Murphy
Devon Murphy: Love this gym! Best gym in the area by far. My only recommendation would be to add mirrors in front of ALL the squat racks. It is beyond me why half would have mirrors and half do not.
Response: Hi Devon, On behalf of myself and the team, we are so happy that you are enjoying your experience with us! It has been a pleasure serving you and we look forward to more great experiences at Capitol Hill Sport&Health.

VIDA Fitness U Street: what do users think?
Benyam Ephrem
Benyam Ephrem: Overall: Solid gym, nothing is overtly missing. You can do everything you need to do. Summary: Basically 3 floors, cardio floor, machine + dumbbell floor, powerlifting floor (w/ dumbbell rack). Good: The ambiance and vibe is good. You feel like you are working out in a cave with a bunch of people. Bad: - Working out from 5-6/7 sucks. The gym is too small to serve the load of patrons at rush times. There aren’t enough benches & benches for presses so you find yourself waiting for major lifts. - If you go any other time that is non-rush it is a solid gym - The benches are way too close to the mirrors, you can’t do heavy lifts and drop weights. It just feels cramped. You have to maneuver around people doing heavy lifts and there are just personal space issues (when squatting I don’t want anyone near me, we have mental bubbles). - Maybe picky but the dumbbells are decent ones. I’ve used better with more grip (steel handle with a mesh pattern etched in). They are a bit narrow in grip and have plastic handles with decent grip. This nuance is kind of annoying and grip is worse so I just do few dumbbell movements now. I’d give ~3 1/2 stars but I imagine there is a huge constraint on real-estate within the city so a gym can only be so large, etc (can’t compare it to gyms I’ve been to elsewhere). But at ~$120/130/mo you’d want more space and just…more. But this was the closest complete gym option to me (.8 mile jog) and the vibes are good. Edit: Have visited all other branches. Nice to be able to switch up gyms on a day you have time to jog farther. Great branding & vibe consistency. Great value add if you want to switch things up and drop in other gyms.
Response: Hi Benyam, thank you for your review and feedback. We take great pride in our facilities and glad to hear you have overall had a great experience. I'll make sure to share the feedback regarding both the dumbbell grips and the placement of benches in relation to the mirror. I invite you to try out some of the other locations in your membership if you get the opportunity, although I can appreciate that our U Street location is less than a mile away from you and that's fantastic. Stay strong, stay well, and see you at VIDA again soon!
Taylor Hayes
Taylor Hayes: I pay entirely too much money for there to be towels in the floor from a roof leak, a scale in the locker room that has been low battery for a week so I can’t weigh myself, and RUDE STAFF. Will be canceling my membership this month.
Response: Hi Taylor, we're super bummed to hear this and our facilities team works hard to ensure these kind of issues don't happen. I'll flag this with them, as well as the management team at U Street, and see what's going on. We hope we don't lose you as a member and invite you to chat with the team there so they can actively address your concerns. Thanks for taking the time to provide this feedback. - The VIDA Team
David Gershman
David Gershman: In the most appropriate way, I can say that Vida does not prioritize member safety in its steam rooms and saunas.
Response: Hi David, thanks for taking the time to leave this feedback. We recently rolled out new policies regarding our steam rooms and sauna with this goal squarely in mind, so curious to hear what sort of issues you are having. Please feel free to speak to the GM at U Street privately and/or contact our DIB with your concerns. Their information can be found at www.vidafitness.com/diversityboard. We take our members safety very seriously. Thanks again.
Joe Kawly
Joe Kawly: The most decent gym in DC. But lately, they have been faking short especially when it comesTo maintenance. It feels like each day there is something not working.
Mattia Pallozzi
Mattia Pallozzi: Honestly I have had always a lovely experience, clean fun and the staff especially has always been pretty amazing, from managers to trainers! 👌🏻👌🏻
Response: Hi Mattia, thanks so much for the 5 star review! We think our staff is pretty awesome too and glad to hear you're getting such great service. Not to mention our housekeeping team, which we truly believe is the best in the biz. Thanks again and see you at U Street again soon!
Harry Longlast
Harry Longlast: I a had meeting with Paul and all I can say is that I have never felt so uncomfortable and embarrassed before. His rude comments about my " big chunky thighs and lack of motivation " were very unprofessional. How do you even motivate someone by highlighting his/her insecurities? He was very rude and impatient. I am not an experienced lifter, however I was under the impression that the staff and culture at vida fitness were solid. The level of unprofessionalism really upset me and will for sure never come back. He was trying way too hard and pushing me to buy a membership and did not even consider my questions, concerns. I believe as a sales director or rep; you must be able to not only know your product but to hear your clients needs in order to better cater to their need. I run a local blog with over 5,000 daily readers and will for sure write about this awful experience. I understand I am overweight but I want to make the changes in my life that get me healthier; I just wish mr Paul, as a professional would be more empathetic and see me as a human being; not just a number.
Reynaldo Castillo
Reynaldo Castillo: Positive: ProfessionalismAmazing workout experience from the membership consultation to the quality of the facility. Paul Leiby understood my fitness goals and listened to all my concerns as I came from another gym franchise. I fully endorse the quality of the experience and I guaranty you will see results in your fitness goals.
Response: Thank you for the kind and thoughtful review, Reynaldo! We're thrilled to have you as a member of the VIDA Fitness U Street community, and we're delighted to hear that Paul has been such an asset in helping you reach your fitness goals. Take care - and thank you for joining us!
Jordan Bayless
Jordan Bayless: Absolutely love the gym itself. The facility is large and has a dedicated floor for compound lifts filled with squat racks and deadlift platforms. Unfortunately, personal trainers usually dominate this space and use it for calisthenics and TRX workouts. Granted, they seem very focused on ensuring their clients have a great experience, just at the cost of other members. As a result, there is almost never an open rack or platform. The locker rooms are top notch. With a sauna, steam room, and showers that have excellent bath products, there is amazing attention to detail. The rest of the facility is nice as well. Although, it is devoid of some typically essential equipment such as seated leg curls. These spaces, to include cardio rooms, are often overcrowded and only seem to be less trafficked from 11:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. Overall, the facility is great, to include the rooftop pool. However, these seem to be used as selling points to encourage new members and after joining, the organization only is invested in trying to get members to spend more money through personal trainers, nutritionists, etc. rather than ensure members spending $180/month have an enjoyable experience.

Onelife Fitness - Fort Totten: what do users think?
Willie Graves
Willie Graves: I just started going this week and it’s been pretty good. Great location to have this gym. The equipment is well maintained and cleaned, the front desk people are friendly, and the other gym goers are nice also. I wish the men bathroom area was a little more cleaner. Some of the hand soap bottles have been empty for more than two days; one of the stalls didn’t have any toilet paper and the mirrors look nasty. The pool/sauna area looks like it’s still being worked on. Can’t wait for it to open so I can relax after a hard workout.
Response: Hi Willie, On behalf of myself and the team, we are so happy that you are enjoying your experience with us! It has been a pleasure serving you and we look forward to more great experiences at Onelife Fitness - Fort Totten.
Sombo Pujeh
Sombo Pujeh: Very nice, clean gym facility with friendly and helpful staff. Very spacious with a wide variety of equipment for all fitness interests. The classes are also varied and high quality instructors. They are also adding more classes over time. The pool and sauna are not yet completed but I am looking forward to that as well. For the price of $50 a month (and they also included 2 personal training sessions) I am very satisfied with my membership thus far.
Response: Hi Sombo, Thank you for the 5-stars! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Sadia Turay
Sadia Turay: I recently moved to the area and I was this close to joining VIDA Fitness when I drove by and saw Onelife. I’m so happy I did! This gym is immaculate and has every equipment+amenity you could ask for. All the staff I’ve interacted with so far are very warm, enthusiastic and willing to help. It’s like they are all genuinely happy to be there. I love how convenient the parking is for their members. They recently opened so it’s very clean and everything operates. My hope is that this continues to be maintained. :)
Response: Hi Sadia, Thank you for the 5-stars! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Marisel Adames-Nunez
Marisel Adames-Nunez: Place is awesome! Karsten is the best membership rep there. He’s very nice and cool. So clean, spacious, variety of equipment! A lot of different rooms, machines, and couple classes. Some areas are still under construction but everything else is amazing.
Response: Thank you very much for such a great review! We work very hard to make sure that we are offering the best experience. So happy to hear that our commitment was clear with you!
Justin Pastorfield Li
Justin Pastorfield Li: I signed up for the gym excited for the impressive space and close proximity to where I live. After 4 weeks of coming to the club, 4-5x a week, I was confronted by an assistant manager, Bobby, who demanded I not carry my gym bag with me. When I asked “why?”, I was told, “you don’t have to be a member if you won’t follow gym policy”. At no point did I refuse to put away my bag. I simply asked why, after four weeks of having my bag with me, is today now the day to police members. Unable to give me an explanation, he blamed his authority for making him enforce the policy. Now frustrated and hostile, Bobby circles around to my wife about her bag. After just moments of also asking him about the newly enforced policy, Bobby demands that my wife and I leave the gym. He actually called security and made as big of a scene of it as possible. Every member in the gym staring at the manager as he carried on, having a special type of emotional reaction to our discord. I was/am very disappointed about how we were treated tonight, having looked forward to a relaxing evening at the gym. With such a terrific space, I hope management can take a better stand to demonstrate their consideration of members and making the gym user-friendly as much as they prioritize a clear floor space. What happened tonight was unprofessional, disrespectful, and communicative of an indifference to keeping members at the club.
Jenna Macksoud
Jenna Macksoud: Let me just say, I’ve never been more turned off from going to the gym then after my experience with this one life location. Save yourself the trouble and avoid this gym and it’s staff at all costs. I came here with a friend as a guest to get a quick 1hr workout in. upon arriving, I told the gentleman at the front that I was a first time guest and would like to use a guest pass. He informed me that I needed to fill out a form online, in which i did, and register on their in-store Ipad. After doing so, he told me that their manager would be giving me a tour. I told him I was here with my friend and that I wouldn’t need a tour because he would be showing/training me on the machines we were going to use. He told me the manager would still need to give me a tour because “it’s just how we do things here” and so after introducing myself to the manager, I told him the same thing I had told the receptionist. After this point, everything went downhill. The manager proceeded to tell me that I wasn’t able to do that and that my friend and I weren’t welcome in their gym because no training was allowed. I told him that in no way was my friend certified nor was being paid and that I simply just used the wrong adjective — “training” — to explain that I wouldn’t need a tour. The manager continued to deny us access and told me that I needed 24hour pre-authorization to visit as a guest, which was contradictory to what I was told at the front desk.He also told me that I wasn’t able to enter the gym without a state issued maryland ID, despite telling him that I was an out-of-state student attending school and only had my school ID for proof of my residence, which he denied to look at. without arguing I continued to tell the manager that he was not my trainer, but was ignored and told I needed to pay a $20 guest fee. overall, just taken back by the lack of friendliness and customer service obtained by the staff at this one life fitness location. I was considering a membership but decided against it based on this experience.
Response: Hello Jenna, We would like to apologize for your recent experience and sorry to hear you were less than satisfied. Please reach out to us at (202) 459-4664 to discuss what occurred and how we might make it up to you.
Jeremy Bedor
Jeremy Bedor: The manager Bobby is the man. Runs a tight ship, helpful when I needed a guest pass, makes sure the place is clean, stocked and equipment is repaired quickly. Both he and the OneLife team is a great addition to the neighborhood
Response: Thank you so much for your review and for taking the time to share your experience! We work hard at Onelife Fitness - Fort Totten to meet expectations like yours and are happy to hear we hit the mark. If convenient, please let us know what you liked best!

Total Source Fitness: what do users think?
Hannah
Hannah: Updating my review after a few months of coming here as a guest. I have found more appreciation for this gym than the gym I belong to. I’ve never had to wait for any equipment here. They have everything you’d need. Never too packed. Still leaks in places is the only thing. Has been consistent $10 since last review. Would join this gym if I lived closer. Lots of gym equipment & heavy weights. Perfect for big dudes who lifting is their passion or small guys who want to get big 💪🏽. Only bad thing is leaks everywhere (Buckets pictured). Cold in the winter. Cost of bringing guests changes every time based on who’s working. $10 to $20 per visit. This place has a lot of potential but needs a little work.
Response: I’m very sorry you feel the way you do and we wish you well as you locate a nice cozy gym to fit your needs But to be clear this gym, our gym caters to those serious workout enthusiast who could care less about cold or heat because they are there to workout with a multitude of tools we provide that far exceeds any gym within a 10 mile radius. We are proud to be able to say that with certainty. Our gym is HARDCORE not designed for those who kinda lift or are cardio driven We are in a warehouse for that reason we post banners on the wall also for that reason to indicate to YOU and all who enter we are not here to be comfortable your hear to get results in a (uncomfortable) environment that is old school and rustic thus once again we are in a warehouse for that purpose. Now If you where even a member which I’m not sure of, but if you where thank you for your business, but I’m certain when you walked in it’s clear it’s a warehouse and if you required a more cozy environment there was a planet fitness not 2 miles up New York ave that has all the comfortable things you clearly require in your non warehouse style gym. We have retained 65% of our members for over 6yrs primarily because of the very things you complained about and they are super loyal patrons thus on there behalf I felt the need to address you because you dishonor people who love this type of gym and would have it no other way but what TSF is. Now with a few exceptions I agree with you on a few of your points which are already being addressed prior to your review All in all this gym is not for the latte enthusiasts or the guy or gal who wants a massage and hot tube after there workout, this is not the clientele we pursue although we welcome all who look to challenge themselves to achieve greatness We have a very reasonable price for the super stocked amount of gym equipment we provide and we understand our position in the gym community there are gyms that charge you $10 or $20 bucks or on the high end there are gyms that charges $180 monthly but you can’t deadlift or drop weights you can’t dress the way you choose and a list of other do not does. We allow our members to have at it and be themselves in a challenging environment because that’s what it takes if you are serious about getting fit and we encourage and support that thought process There will always be some privileged folks that you can’t satisfy and such is life and we understand that but we also understand that some people are entitled in certain instances and feel the need to try and discredit others when they can simply go ware they feel more comfortable or never use the facility in the first place In closing Mam we wish you well and hope you look around before joining your next gym to be certain it’s what you are looking for prior to joining so you don’t have to leave a flawed review on that business because it doesn’t fit your needs. Now I guest the plot thickens and we are getting some clarity on these last couple of reviews so we looked up your acct and you haven’t been a member since 9//12/2021 so interesting that you post a review in January and it looks like you entered the gym without having a membership on 12/20/2021 at 8:12pm so why where you here in December what was your business if you was no longer a member ? I guest this is a plot or hit job to attempt to destroy a Black owned local business who has been a solid part of our community for almost a decade write ? Quite sad but not surprising
Cam Frasier
Cam Frasier: I love this gym. Close by and has all the equipment you need to get at it. This is a no frills gym. Just open space and tons of equipment. I go with my fiance to work out together and she is also a fan. She typically works with aerobic, alternative bands, and ropes. I definitely recommend this gym to people who are serious about getting fit!
Denice Socha
Denice Socha: The gym and prices are ok. My issue was with a trainer. I enrolled in a CrossFit class, I got sick and had to miss a couple of sessions, when I came back he gave me the silent treatment. What are we, 10? Refused to instruct me or include me in any group. This was a while back, hopefully he’s gone. In response to your comment: Yes, it was a while ago. I’m planning to return to the area this summer and recalled this negative experience when I came across your gym. I am not aware of your contracting policies but that was my personal experience. Good luck with your business in 2022. And for the record, I love the small black owned businesses that I frequent.
Response: Denise I’m sorry to hear this but are you sure you have the correct gym we don’t offer a CrossFit class here at total Source Fitness as trainers are independent and running there own business just using our gym. not to say you didn’t have this experience but the appropriate business to give a 1star review is the trainers business that you worked with not TSF But in the interest of investigating further can you please email me direct who you trained with and the time of day your session’s where so I can find out who you are speaking of Follow up Mam after doing a internal investigation you haven’t been a member here at Total Source Fitness since March of 2019, which now begs the question what is your underlying motivation for leaving a one star review in 2022 three years later and the review was clearly for a independent trainer who worked out of the location but yet you reviewed the gym knowing it could impact a small black owned business in a negative way ? I’m kinda confused but please clarify and if I can help you with any concerns because you plan to rejoin and wanted to know if your past trainer was still here or not, because of your bad experience. I’ll be glad to address your concerns although they are quite old at this point If you do decide to join us when you move back to this area, as the owner of the gym, I’m very accessible. Feel free to reach out to me. As you know as a former member of TSF, we have a very diversified customer base and it’s extremely rare to hear something like this. However, every customer old or new is important here at TSF and if you have a problem at my gym, I will personally see to it that the problem is addressed. Thank you for your patronage and we wish well in 2022 as well.
Bryan Cash
Bryan Cash: Stay away. You will be fighting fraud for months dealing with them. Somebody giving good reviews here is lying. I canceled and they still continue to charge my card. I went in person and the person told me I owe them money. If a person misses a payment for a monthly service, you revoke service you don’t accrue charges for a service they wouldn’t be able to use. Then won’t let you cancel until you make that up which is ridiculous. I wouldn’t be able to use the gym if I walked in but still have to continue to pay you? The lady in the front was completely hostile when i was trying to cancel and REFUSED to cancel my service. Completely shady billing practices and will commit fraud against you. Look at their YELP reviews. Somebody even said they used their card during Christmas. Ridiculous business.
Iryna F
Iryna F: I really like this gym, not crowded, all needed equipment and very close to my home. Nice customer service! Recommend!
Gerald Regep
Gerald Regep: I love this gym, hands down. When i moved to DC I looked for a place that was affordable, within walking distance, and had the equipment i needed to stay in shape. Total Source gave me just that. Total Source Fitness is run and owned by Kent, a straight up dude who never fails to ask you how you’re doin. I’ve seen some comments that suggest that TSF is poorly run and a low-quality gym. In my experience, that couldn’t be further from the truth. Kent has been straightforward with me since i first joined the gym. I had an issue where my membership was charged twice in one month, an accident he fixed after I spoke with him. The correction took a week or two, but he made it right and was transparent with me the whole way through. Sometimes things take time with computers and logistics. As long as you’re straight with him, he’ll take care of you. Love this place.
Josten Forsythe
Josten Forsythe: If you’re looking for a gym to get an actual workout in, then Total Source Fitness is the place. With seven squat racks and a bunch of benches, I’ve never waited for a lift. While it’s definitely no frills, the regulars know their way around a gym, making it easy to move around and get work in. What’s more, Kent, the owner, gave me a break on my initiation fee because I’d only be in town for a month. Definitely give Total Source Fitness a try if you’re in town.

Life Time: what do users think?
John V
John V: First let me say the staff here is beyond exemplary. The nicest , most professional, intelligent group of administrators, trainers , cafe and custodial employees , etc . Whoever is in charge at hiring at Lifetime is doing a great job . This simply is the best fitness facility I’ve ever belonged to. I had an issue and it was resolved expeditiously and with real concern. General Manager Brittany is absolutely amazing. Salt of the earth This Lifetime is the more than just a gym it’s has a community center type feel, very close knit. I’m glad to be member.
Jolene Silipigni
Jolene Silipigni: I love this place. I’m there at least five days a week. The yoga program is out of this world. They have a variety of classes going on throughout the day. I also love the Pilates program. The instructors are excellent. I just started personal training here and I am so impressed. Pools are beautiful!
Response: Hi Jolene, We appreciate your feedback! Thank you for being a Lifetime member and have a great day!
Demet Albayrak
Demet Albayrak: LifeTime Reston is a very clean, member friendly lifestyle club. It is more than a gym, with high ceilings, big windows and with great atmosphere. More to it is staff like Nadya! I met Nadya when I first came to tour the facilities back in May. Nadya was friendly, informative and gentle. She is not a sales person, rather a friend! All other staff at the concierge and the rest are great, too. Nadya answered all of my questions and made me feel at home! Members coming to this location all seem very happy. Sauna, Steam room and every corner in this location is well maintained and super clean. I had a chance to eat their healthy chicken salad from the outdoor pool cafe, and I wasn’t expecting to get a tasty salad, loved it. They also have healthy snacks and drinks. Huge parking lot. Even on Memorial Day, we were able to find chairs by the outdoor pool. Definitely recommend who is considering to become a member.
Nekolist
Nekolist: It’s unfortunate to be writing this because I’ve been a member of Life Time since the club opened. The reality is that the price continues to increase but the experience is declining. They really pack them in now and the equipment I want to use is often taken. The worst is the pool where it is difficult to find a swim lane because the swim teams take over the majority of lanes from the afternoon into the evening. I realize the club makes extra money from those teams, but it would be nice to have regular members get a window of use after normal work hours. I would put my son back on the swim team but he doesn’t want to join because they had a coach that yelled at the kids and got rough with a couple of them before getting fired. Overall, you pay for a premium experience but I’m not getting that anymore and looking for another club.
Response: Hi Nekolist, we'd love to continue the conversation so that we can learn more about your specific experience. When you get a moment, please contact our team directly with the best way to get in touch with you.
Christopher Smith
Christopher Smith: Prospective members beware - the lack of gym etiquette by a majority of gym members is staggering. What you can expect on a typical day at this Lifetime are 1. Members not wiping down machines after use; 2. Weights being put back incorrectly; and 3. Members not deloading equipment after use. I have spoken with staff and they have not addressed these issues nor have plans to. This lack of response is concerning due to the high membership fees; you would expect more from a premium fitness club. These statements are true as of May 18, 2022 and I will update this review with any changes.
Brad
Brad: Got some tough critics in here! Its a great gym, awesome amenities, and overall the staff is excellent. Can get a bit crowded at times but you get your workout in. Would like to see some stella or more lager/pilsner options poolside (#firstworldproblems)!
Annabelle Dennen
Annabelle Dennen: A day pass is wayyy too expensive. I was only planning to go there for about 45 minutes and the only option was to pay $50 per person?! Absolutely not. Great way to steer people away from trying your already mediocre gym…
Daniel W
Daniel W: Great gym!! Good courts, food, spa, weights, pilayes, yoga, cycling everything! Never too busy. Lots of trainers and different machines and free weights. Outdoor pool is like a water park!

Equinox Anthem Row: what do users think?
Stephanie C
Stephanie C: Some of the best group fitness instructors and personal trainers I’ve ever met!! Love their classes
Response: Thanks for the 5 stars, Joann!
Crissi Luv
Crissi Luv: I love this gym. Spa like and tranquil. The classes are a1. Times are great. Classes all day.
Response: Thanks for the feedback, Crissi!
M Ben A
M Ben A: Walked in there to ask for membership and tour told only with an “advisor” not very welcoming that’s what I felt 😠the guy on the front desk did not even offer an appointment !!!
Response: Hi Ben, we're sorry to hear you've had this experience. We hope that you'll give us another shot to show you the service we are capable of providing. If you would like to reach out and share additional feedback, please connect with us at Concierge@equinox.com. Please be sure to mention your review so we can address quickly.
Brandon Morris
Brandon Morris: Critical: Communication, ProfessionalismSet up a membership without my consent. When I tried to email them to make sure it was cancelled they tried to sell me another membership. Very poor business practices. As a former member, I could have been an easy sell, but will never rejoin after this experience.
Ryan D
Ryan D: When it comes to a gym, you get what you pay for, and, although this is a bit pricey and restrictive, that added benefits make me want to go to the gym. Excellent free weight section and class offerings. My only suggestion--extend closing hour from 8:00 pm to 10:00 p.m.
Evan Long
Evan Long: Everything you’d expect from the brand, and very seldom crowded except at absolute peak times. They’ve taken enhanced sanitation seriously given COVID, and I particularly appreciate that they kept their word and allowed me to break my one-year contract a couple months early when I moved away.
Trade Stock
Trade Stock: Critical: Communication, Professionalism, Quality2 experiences with this gym, 2 different employees. Both atrocious, -100/1. The have the same attitude your kids have when they start growing up. Beware...
Wallace Bachman
Wallace Bachman: So glad Equinox has found its way into DC proper! This location is spacious by New York Equinox standards, both on the floor, which is a single floor with ample natural light, and the men’s locker room. It’s very clean, the staff are friendly and beautiful, and everything is in great repair. I’ve never been to an Equinox where the stretching area was so well-equipped (bands etc etc) and well organized. The Juice Press was small and didn’t have much, but that seems to be the way of Equinox juice bars over the last several years. 😢
