CrossFit DC: what do users think?

Gabrielle Ocker: Coach Amon was very welcoming and so friendly! The facilities were great and would recommend this gym to anyone dropping in :)

Paula Tilson: I was brand new to CrossFit and started out at this gym with an intro class and then the elements class where you learn some of the basic movements used in classes. This gym has been absolutely wonderful! The coaches are amazing and really know what they are talking about. They give extremely helpful tips when you are doing the workouts and will critique your form to help you improve. The coaches also know when to push you more and help you achieve your goals. The workouts are always killer even if the main component is building strength in a specific lift, I have never left this gym not sweating. And the people here are some of the best motivators, workout buddies and friends. Everyone is extremely welcoming and pushing each other to improve regardless of if you are a beginner or experienced vet. I would highly recommend this gym to anyone whether you are wanting to try CrossFit, find a new gym or just drop in for a class. 10/10 would recommend!

Martin JANDA: Positive: Communication, Professionalism, QualityI have been visiting this box on U street for less than a month and I can only evaluate it positively. I would recommend it for the high professionalism of the coaches, good equipment, super wod programming and also a positive approach to visiting crossfitters.

Dominik Mlinarevic: I came, they welcomed me, they coached me I PRd. It was a very good experience two coaches on 15 athletes for the weightlifting part even 3 coaches. Facility is super clean and the equipment is great. Coaching as mentioned was great and professional. Thanks to the team.!!!

Daniel In: The coaching staff here is amazing. They are very knowledgeable and provide great instruction to reduce the possibility of injuries as much as possible. The members here are friendly and enthusiastic. They also have all brand new equipment. After dropping it at other croasfit boxes across the country and across the workd, I realize just how amazing CrossFit DC is.

Mikhala McMasters: I started going to the gym in August and I love it! The coaches explain things well, are encouraging, and provide scaling options that make the workouts accessible.

Humble Beast Fit: what do users think?

Michael Lai: When moving into the city, I needed a new workout spot and humble beast Crossfit provided that. Knowledgeable coaches and strong (no pun intended) community. It even has a barbell club for those burnt out on Crossfit! Everything is in kilos so be sure you know how to convert from pounds

Melissa Hickey: Excellent cross fit gym. Extremely knowledgeable coaches, strong community, good vibe/energy. Would highly recommend to athletes just getting into lifting/crossfit--great environment for hands-on and holistic learning.

Lenka Collakova: Great 3 day drop in! Very friendly coaches (thank you Melissa and Claire!) and members. Very relaxed atmosphere. Great workouts. And Melissa gave me a list of restaurants, too! 😀

Albert Cheng: Jeff and Lindsay run an awesome fitness business. They quickly find out your goals and tailor a program to meet those goals. I highly recommend them for anyone who is trying to meet their fitness goals in life.

Adam Murphy: Positive: Communication, Professionalism, QualityLindsey and Jeff are by far the most knowledgeable and friendliest people in the world! This gym is the best!

kevin maloy: Positive: Communication, ProfessionalismDropped in- coaches and members all extremely welcoming! Great workout and experience! Will be back!

Old City CrossFit: what do users think?

Ian Flynn: Positive: Communication, ProfessionalismOnly did one drop in but the coach did a great job welcoming me and my girlfriend to the gym. After the drop in received an email with great suggestions for local places to try for food and coffee. I wish more CrossFit gyms did this! Excellent place to drop in for anyone visiting DC!

Jack Sykstus: Great gym, great coaches, great space. Only been a member here since COVID but they have done a wonderful job making it feel safe and welcoming. Have improved my overall fitness and strength many times over since starting here.

Turner Shaw (Turner): This gym is exactly what I was looking for. Spectacular coaches who are always willing to help, great programming, and fun people to workout with.

Lauren Olinsky: I have been a loyal Old City member since the beginning and can not give enough positive praise to Sean, Erin, the whole coaching staff, and the community at Old City! I genuinely feel a part of something bigger at Old City and the level of caring from the coaches to the members is apparent in every class I attend. I have never been a member of a gym for more than a few months until Old City and could not imagine my life in DC without this crew. The coaches are amazing at reinforcing proper form and care about members to coach you to a place where you can challenge yourself with safe boundaries and support. Moreover, at what gym will you find a coach who calls and texts you to hold you accountable for your health. If you think you want to improve yourself in a place where you are cared for, Old City is the place for you!

Rico Macaraeg: Always great dropping in and visiting my first CrossFit family! Love this place! A DC must if you’re looking for a “no ego”, team environment to workout!

Rachel Turow: I started at Old City back in February doing the six-week fitness challenge after having my third child. Coach David got me hooked on CrossFit and six months later I am in better shape than ever. I have taken classes with most of the coaches and they are all amazing. I also have found the community to be very warm and supportive. I believe there are both physical and mental health benefits to being part of a gym community like this and would highly recommend it for anyone, even if you are not in amazing shape - you will be soon!

Philip P: Awesome box. I was visiting from the UK, had quite a few week points to work on, the coach (David) went over and way above what he needed to do and I expected- really helped a ton, thanks David! The other CrossFitters attending class were so friendly and encouraging. And the box followed up with reccomendations for the City. Incredible service!

CrossFit MPH: what do users think?

Michael Weitzman: Well-maintained CrossFit box with absolutely fantastic coaching. The head coach was there both days that I dropped in and it was some of the best coaching I’ve in a box in a long time. I coach at a box in Miami and have visited over 100 boxes while traveling so I have seen the good bad and ugly... this was so so good! I learned at least three new cues for coaching our athletes and got some help with my hand stand push-ups. I was extremely impressed with the pre class preparation (she had worksheets printed out for the wod to track scores). I also noticed at all of the athletes (members) moved very well with a barbell and on body weight movements which is a sign of a safe and effective program. If you’re considering trying CrossFit or switching gyms I would recommend this place. Clear instruction, coaches are paying close attention to each member in the class and they know what they are talking about. Really enjoyed my two quick visits, I would be a member here if I lived here.

Ralph Alswang: Having been at Crossfit MPH for over 5 years and it continues to be important part of my well being and health. Great coaches and teammates to work with everyday. Come to free Sat Clinic and get yourself feeling better with Crossfitmph!

Eli Noah: Love this Box!! The coaches are ALL SUPER NICE, FRIENDLY, PROFESSIONAL AND ATTENTIVE!! Thanks Rebecca!! GRUELLING WOD!! BUT I made it!! I will definitely come back and already told people in DC of ur place. Thanks again for your hospitality!

Cameron Bucek: This place is AWESOME, the coaching is next-level...... this place is a hidden gem in the Dupont Circle area..... great place to drop-in or become part of their community! They have restrooms, water-cooler, AED, and all the best equipment to get your WOD on!!!

Mike P: Great coaches, great programming, plus they give you a level of personalized training during the workout. Solid CrossFit box.

Sean Ireland: My home away from home when I travel to Washington. Rebecca and Melody are amazing coaches!!

Anil Menon: I dropped in from Houston and was so thankful for the training and support!

CrossFit Hierarchy: what do users think?

Andy Thompson: A great gym with good, attentive coaching. Love the 7:30 pm workouts. A fun community that is not too competitive. Great workout programming that develops strength and cardio without pushing me over the edge, I always feel good the next day. Thanks!

Jeremy Bernfeld: Having moved around quite a bit in my life, I’ve had the opportunity to be a member of five or so CrossFit Gyms; Hierarchy is by far the best. The members and coaches are super friendly, supportive, and knowledgeable. They are also really reasonable when life happens and you need to put a hold on your account, scale a workout, or cancel a class. I also never felt pressured to go beyond my comfort limits in the two years I was a member, though I could always expect great motivation and support from the coaches and members to finish out each workout strong. I have unfortunately just moved to a different part of DC and have had to switch gyms but, I’m super glad to have had access to this great gym and community.

Julian Serna: Me and my wife dropped in from Miami and were welcomed in by coach/owner Tyler, he was very friendly and once class started he was very helpful, the workout was very fun and engaging. We partnered up with members from the gym and they were very friendly. I had a lot of fun joining in the Wod and I know my wife did also, if you live in the DC area you should def check this gym out.

Greg Scott: Hierarchy was recommended from a friend in Fort Lauderdale. So we had heard a bit about their coaching and programming and were probably biased before dropping in. All that being said, this gym was amazing. They out kicked the coverage with the quality of gym. Awesome all the way around. I’d recommend dropping in and making this your box.

Robert Sax: Great experience while dropping into town at this gym! The owner was present (not always the case) and coached a great class. The people were very welcoming and the facility was exactly what you need for a fun crossfit experience. From one owner to another..... great job !

Steve Curran: Great facility, great coaching. Just dropping in while in town. They made me feel very welcome. Also, their programming is really really good. Seriously. I will definitely be back.

Rich: I was visiting in DC from the UK earlier this week and wanted to get a work out so I dropped in - the team were very friendly and had a great session programmes in. Coaching was well informed, everyone made me feel welcome and to top it all off, I was able to do a WOD for free. Absolutely fantastic, thanks for having me!

CrossFit DC: what do users think?

Mike Eason: Dropped in when I was in DC for a short trip. The coach and members were very welcoming and friendly. Would definitely go back if I am back in DC.

Marco Enriquez: Great coaches! They provide solid feedback every session and they work with you to find suitable exercise substitutes (scaling options) if needed. Classes are fun and challenging. Bonus: good COVID-19 protocols in place.

Erika Oliver: Loved this gym! My husband and I dropped in while visiting DC. We originally tried another gym on H street earlier in the week, but I wish we had come to DC Northeast earlier! We loved the facility, the coaches were friendly and the workout was great. When dropping in you can pay $25 for a shirt and the class fee, which is a good deal! If I lived in DC this is the gym I would go to!

Vincent Chen: Great gym filled with very helpful coaches

Geoff Orazem: I generally work out at their U street location but this one is great too, a little more room and equally solid quirky fun coaches and community. No gym bros here just professionals who are trying to find time to get fit and have a laugh. All the thumbs up, highly recommend

James Thomley: After trying out several other Crossfit gyms I finally landed at Crossfit DC. The camaraderie I feel every time I take a class is hard to match in ANY gym. The coaches are attentive without seeming unapproachable and the attention to detail, especially regarding safety, exceeds expectations. I have found my Crossfit home in DC and will be here as long as they are.

Mike P: The space is great. Reminiscent of old school CrossFit. The programming is solid and the coaches are all friendly and knowledgeable. Clientele are all friendly and great people, too. Age ranges from 20-60 and everyone has a great time.

Petworth Fitness: what do users think?

Renata Danks: I was a member of Petworth Fitness over the summer of 2021 and had a fantastic experience. (Unfortunately I had to discontinue due to moving out of DC.) I appreciated the friendly coaches who played a major part in making the workouts less intimidating and more fun. I loved the variety of the programming, the challenge, and feeling strong. I would recommend Petworth Fitness for anyone looking for a fun challenge. I found that the coaches were motivating but also met me at my intensity level and I never felt in over my head.

Mahogane Reed: I joined Petworth Fitness in March of 2022 as a CrossFit newbie. I’d never lifted weights before and had no idea what I was doing, but I was eager to try something new to jolt my fitness routine back to life. Petworth Fitness was the perfect place for me. The Fundamentals program was critical to my learning the basics of lifting weights and CrossFit in a safe and sustainable way. Coach Mike was patient and methodical in showing me what I needed to know to get the most out of the gym. Once I started taking classes, I realized I’d joined a supportive, fun, energetic community of fitness enthusiasts and folks like me who just wanted to be active among new friends. A few months after I joined the gym, I injured my knee. The coaching staff at Petworth Fitness accommodated me and my injury and helped me remain active through my recovery. Now I’m on the mend and am so happy I joined this gym. I couldn’t have asked for a better gym experience or a better group of coaches and peers. 10/10 recommend this gym for anyone interested in joining a great community of neighbors and friends in a joint endeavor for wellness.

Sébastien Dibling: Great gym, great equipment, great program, great flexibility, great community and especially amazing coaches. My best choice in my journey of being healthier and stronger. Thanks Petworth Fitness.

Yolanda Porche: I feel like whatever I write would not adequately express my appreciation for Petworth Fitness. To me, the people are the best part! The coaches and owners are kind, down-to-earth, professional, patient and supportive. To single out a coach would not be fair because they all bring something unique/special! The members of the gym are just as sweet and encouraging. I love the group classes - they are challenging and fun. The gym is spacious, kept tidy and has a parking lot! As a single woman that lives alone and works from home 100% since the COVID-19 pandemic hit, I feel so grateful to have found this gym and the wonderful people I see and interact with whenever I go. I HEART PF!

Bryan Todd: I have been going to Petworth Fitness for three months. I began as part of the rehab process for a herniated disc. Through the combination of work with the therapist and coaches at Petworth fitness, I have been able to heal from the injury that limited movement and return to exercising 3x a week. They do a great job of coaching and encouraging people at any level of fitness.

J M: Positive: Communication, Professionalism, QualityThis gym is always clean, well organized, and the classes are always on time. The staff is professional and interested in seeing you meet your fitness goals safely. The members are friendly and supportive.

Balance Functional Fitness Thomas Circle (Formerly CrossFit Balance): what do users think?

Grady Lynn: Great gym with incredible coaches. I was in DC for a summer internship and regularly attended the evening classes for the 12 weeks I was here. The community was great, the workouts were challenging, and I learned a lot from the coaches. There was a wide range of Crossfit experience in the classes, making it easy to fit in. They also offered me the best rate for summer interns that I could find in the area (and the membership was unlimited!) I strongly recommend checking this gym out and I hope that I can come back to visit sometime!

Randy Chapman: Great gym and awesome coaches. I highly recommend if you are in the city.

CrossFit Rosslyn: what do users think?

Shamar P Mitchell: This review is waaaaaay overdue. CrossFit Rosslyn was my very first box in 2013 and although I have moved away, I maintain contact and drop-in whenever I am in town. What makes them stand apart from most others is that they legitimately care about their athletes (that includes drop-ins). From the moment you walk through the doors, you feel as if you are a part of the CFR family. That feeling comes from the top down. Thank you Michael and Matt for all that you have done throughout the years.

Danny Askarinam: The staff here are very friendly with a warm family like environment. They make CrossFit a lot less daunting then what it is and are very accommodating to all levels.

Kathy Hanna: A great community that has always been very welcoming, even when I was just starting out with CrossFit. I love working out here!

Pulsar1984: Never been inside, but there are some seriously cute dudes working out in there. One waved at me once, and I nearly passed out!! 😍😇 Lots of eye candy!!

Michael Lee: Great and friendly environment. Knowledgeable coaches who are interested in your well being.

Joanne Ochsman: Best workout ever°°

Silver Spring Training Club: what do users think?

Anthony Oliverio: I worked out at CF Silver Spring with Josh in 2012 and 2013 when I was first introduced to CrossFit. He was able to evaluate what type of training I had done previous to working with him, and adapt his coaching style to help me improve upon techniques, crush bad habits I had developed, and teach me new techniques. He developed a personal strength program specific to my goals prior to joining the military, and was able to prepare me for future physical challenges I would face, while at the same time providing me the tools to build strength and gain endurance. The gym itself was a phenomenal atmosphere. Everyone is pushed to their maximum capacity. Additionally, the coaches ensured that before any high intensity workouts were executed, the fundamentals of each technique were taught, practiced and mastered prior to adding weight or increasing speed. I credit Josh and his team for providing me with good habits with regards to Olympic lifts that I still employ today. I still follow the daily workouts on his gym’s website out of all the others out there simply because I trust him and his process. I know he pays careful attention to all workouts he selects, the same way he does for the plans and programs he creates for members. This gym has been the most memorable experience for me in terms of a place to workout with a competitive and fun community and great instruction.

Colleen Donohoe Craft: I’m proud to have been a member at SSTC since 2019. Every class is a new learning experience led by by phenomenal coaches. The methodology they instruct is simple and effective. You will work hard, leave your ego at the door, and want to come back the next day for another class. I trained here all throughout pregnancy and postpartum; I am forever grateful for these classes during that time. This establishment is welcoming to anyone from a newbie exerciser to an experienced Olympic weightlifter. The community is amazing and supportive to anyone who walks through the door.

Alexander Yu: I had a great experience with SSTC! The coaches are very knowledgeable, caring, and provide great training. They also pay attention to promoting mobility and preventing injury. They put a lot of effort into building a community and helping their members build friendships. Josh, the owner, was very flexible with me when I had to be out of state a few months to care of a sick family member, and also when I had to move out of the area for work. If I was still in the area, I would still be a member.

Rachel Fronapfel: I spent a total of about 7 years training at Silver Spring Training Club before moving out of the area. The coaches really work with everybody individually, creating endless variations of workouts to make sure everyone gets a great sweat, feels accomplished, and does it safely. The sense of community is what brought me back day after day. The owner puts a ton of thought into the programming, and is truly a master of his craft. A chunk of my heart will always be in that gym!

Lucas Pessoa de Melo: Josh and the coaches are awesome at what they do. They know when to push you and are just unbelievable supporters in whatever fitness journey you’re trying to take. I lost 60lbs while training with them between Feb 2018 and June 2019 and would still be there had I not moved away. Great community, well structured classes, and just an A+ environment. Highly recommend

Julianne Whaylen: I’ve spent the last 6.5 years at this gym and love it. The coaches are very experienced and truly care about pushing you to meet your individual goals. I’ve worked out here throughout all 3 of my pregnancies, and the coaches were amazing at tailoring my workouts throughout the different stages of my pregnancy and postpartum recovery. The community is great and very supportive too, and I always look forward to my next class.

Brazen Fitness: what do users think?

Darien Thall: The owners and coaches are amazing at brazen fitness. I’ve been thoroughly impressed by the experience and even more so by the integrity of the owners and community in general. I started with brazen in 2019 working with a personal trainer. Fast forward to today, and after a unhealthy hiatus mainly due to Covid-19, I’m back in the gym with a new trainer and new outlook. The one thing that hasn’t changed is brazen and I’m so thankful for their consistency and the stability they bring to my routine!

Vivian Hernandez: I recently joined Brazen Fitness after a long hiatus from a gym. Brazen Fitness was the perfect place to jump back in. They have created an environment that is welcoming and inclusive of all fitness levels. Most importantly the coaching staff is organized, approachable, and engaging.

C Brittingham II: Brazen is a great place to train your mind and body. The staff is top-shelf, led by great coaches, and its members are equally as awesome! The classes are challenging -- very challenging in many cases -- but everyone encourages and supports your success.

Alan Reiner: Coaches are attentive, consistently walking around during workouts and providing assistance and encouragement to members. The programming is varied at an appropriate level and there are always good scaling options. Every class begins with sufficient stretching and warm up.

Jennifer Harper: I had been out of shape for a while before I joined South Arlington Fitness & Nutrition. Before joining I was intimidated, concerned about not knowing enough and getting injured. Every coach I met was warm and engaging, making classes so much fun! There is a strong focus on mechanics, which helped me build up on weight sustainably, and without injury! The coaches are very thorough in running through the workouts, so you can modify as needed (but they will push you to keep improving yourself). I highly recommend you take the on-ramp course if it’s been a while since you worked out. I also recommend you take advantage of the nutrition courses and some of the many mini challenges they will have throughout the year. The FitLife Challenge was a game-changer for me. 🙌 It’s such a wonderful team! ❤️

Liz Speck: This is by far the friendliest gym I have ever been to! It is such a welcoming and encouraging place! The programming is excellent and well-rounded, and the coaches are motivating and give helpful feedback. I like that there is a lot of variety in the workouts and care is taken with the programming to ensure that you get a great workout and avoid injury. The members are all so nice, and there are a variety of ages/fitness levels in every class. Also, I feel much safer in this gym in the COVID era than at some other gyms. The class sizes are small, there are a mix of indoor and outdoor classes, and they have taken a lot of steps to ensure that we are spaced out (when inside you have your own space to work out and your own set of equipment) and to clean and sanitize the equipment.

Rebecca Wolf: Positive: ProfessionalismI really enjoyed the time I spent at South Arlington Cross Fit. All of the coaches are knowledgable, the workouts/classes are well paced, and the people are great! I appreciated the progression based programing method the coaches use to instruct each class. Recommend you check out the gym if you are considering cross fit!

Balance Gym: Glover Park: what do users think?

C E: The Go for It spirit at Balance Gym is beyond impeccable. All of us want to help out in the contribution to our wonderful community held together by the strength of our Federal Government. Imagine sitting in front of a computer screen, organizing files and papers, having important meetings day and night about policies that affect the 50 States if not the World. Yes, I would go again to Balance Gym!

Grace Phillips: Amazing facility! Very clean! Staff is very accommodating. I was only visiting for the holidays and they have a one week and a two week option! Equipment is suitable for heavy lifters and those who desire a simpler workout. They offer tons of classes at great times. I think I found my gym away from home!

Stephanie C. Giancola: An amazing gym with a phenomenal staff! Jacob, the GM was extremely patient and tending to my million questions about what the gym has to offer. Boy, was I surprised! They have a variety of good equipment available, different sections to do turf workouts, weight lifting, cardio, yoga, etc. the building used to be a spa, so the locker rooms are dreamy, and they offer specials on esthetic/massage work upstairs. I was able to take a boot camp class before signing up for a membership. The class was challenging, but within reason. The coach was enthusiastic, and everybody was having a good time. There is a Crossfit section as well! And they even offer classes like solid core, with the Pilates machine! This gym has everything you need, even parking in the back! Ask for Jacob and he’ll set you up. Also—lots of cool freebies like a free personal training session and three free Pilates reformer classes to start you off!

Trident Athletics (Formerly Trident CrossFit): what do users think?

Melvin Antoine Whitehead: After a few years of experiencing various CF boxes, I can honestly say that Trident ranks as my best experience. The coaches are superb; they gave me very constructive feedback, challenged me at an appropriate level, and always explained everything clearly. Great programming and warmups. The facilities are excellent—very spacious, very clean, and well-stocked with everything you need. Most importantly, everyone is super friendly and welcoming. Unfortunately I moved away. I very much miss being a part of Trident and miss the coaches very much.

Jenny MacGregor: I started going to Trident about three months ago, never having done CrossFit before. The staff is very welcoming and focused on helping you with your form and improving. There are scaling options available for most workouts, and the coaches are there to help you tailor the workout to your abilities, safety comes first. I started noticing the results right away, and feel much stronger than I did three months ago.

Sæñ M: I am amazed how coaches (Stacy, Marcus, Donnie, Kate) here come together in each class & focus on the technique and correct it when they see a problem. Their focus is on all the students throughout the class. They truly care about teaching you proper movements, and techniques. Even the assistant coaches are dedicated to helping and correcting the form and technique. The beginning of the class, coaches ask you to follow the baby steps they walk you through (whether you are experienced or newbie) so you can follow proper techniques when the actual rounds starts. There is no intimidation or competition here. Just a class full of energy, and motivation.

Meghan Holland: I’ve been a member of trident for almost two years and I love it! The workouts are challenging, but there are always scaling options available. I’ve been crossfitting for almost 4 years, and was honestly plateaued in my performance until recently... the coaches are amazing at focusing on form, mobility, and technique to build a foundation to get better, unlike other gyms. They’re also COVID conscious with coaches in masks and social distancing. Can not recommend it enough!

Deucalion Hanley: Safety first focused! Every instructor is incredibly helpful with specific recommendations for immediate and long term improvement unique to each level of athleticism. The camaraderie is positive and infectious! Daily Group classes are challenging and fun!! Instructors and athletes create aa encouraging environment- this is NOT one of those CrossFit cult places!!

Andrea May: Positive: Professionalism, QualityFrom the moment I first walked in, I was impressed with this gym. The coaches are welcoming, knowledgeable, and professional. The facility is large, very clean, and has a ton of great equipment. The class times and open gym times are really convenient, too! Definitely recommend!

Tinner Hill Crossfit: what do users think?

Katelyn Sloan: This is an AMAZING gym, and an even more amazing group of people. Kira, and Marcus are the very best, and passionate and dedicated to everyone they work with and give each client the time they deserve to set goals and make progress. I would recommend this gym to anyone looking to prioritize themselves and grow in ways they did not think possible. I had never tried CrossFit before and they welcomed me with me great patience and a super friendly environment. Could not recommend them enough!!

John Leacock: Fantastic gym! Great coaches! Excellent programming!I’m so glad I found this place. I’ve turned my couch potato lifestyle into one of fitness. The people at this gym are supportive and motivating. I cannot recommend it enough!

Jonathan Tedla: As a former fitness professional, it’s refreshing to have coaches who truly understand the science behind movement & fitness. Marcus and Kira are amazing. Would recommend this gym to anyone interested in doing CrossFit - from beginner to expert.

B. A. Lederle: Hands down the best gym in Falls Church. Strong programming, a solid onboarding process, and a supportive environment all around. If you are looking for a box and coaches that emphasize technique, enlist every resource to ensure you reach and exceed your fitness goals, and foster a sense of community then this is the one for you.

chelsea balderson: I am not usually one to write reviews (this my be my first ever) but hopefully by sharing my own experience I can afford someone else the same opportunity I was given when I started at THCF. If you are trying to find your “workout home” THCF it’s definitely a step above the rest. I started cross-fitting in dental school and have been a member of two other gyms in Richmond and Knoxville. When I moved to Arlington I tried other types of fitness classes that were fun/different at first, but I always ended up feeling like I “had” to go to the gym. I eventually still found my way back to xfit. After trying a couple other crossfit gyms in the area I finally found Tinner Hill CrossFit via friend recommendation, needless to say I never looked back. I personally feel THCF is more than just another Crossfit box, the members of this gym are my family. I haven’t felt this type of team support since high school swim team. This gym has a phenomenal group of coaches that are 100% there to see each member safely and efficiently achieve their goals and push them to be a better version of themselves. This is a group of people that support each other and push each other day after day, week after week, year after year… if any of this resonates with you I know we all look forward to meeting new people that will add to our THCF family!!!

Jean Schumacher: Tinner Hill CrossFit is my fifth CrossFit gym in almost eight years and is hands down the best one I have experienced. The coaching is unlike anything I have had before; the attention to detail both in movement and personal fitness goals has helped me get to the best shape of my life. I have confidence in myself now that I have never had before THCF. I am eternally grateful to the coaches who have helped me get to this point and I HIGHLY recommend coming to try it out!

Ballston CrossFit: what do users think?

William Carter: The team at Ballston CrossFit has been very welcoming and encouraging. They have also been very attentive to correct form. As an older guy with no gym experience, I am seeing results and feel better than I have in 20 years. Thank you Ballston CrossFit!

fernando valdez: Very well structured and organized gym to include the excellent coaching from all the coaches. Very intense positive environment that makes you want to compete even harder against the person to the left and right of you. Excellent program if you’re looking to get in shape and for an evening workout hobby.

Paul Santello: I travel quite a bit and I drop in all over the place and this gym ranks among the best. Super friendly and attentive coaches and friendly members, well equipped gym and lots of classes to fit into any busy schedule. If you’re in the Northern VA area I highly recommend this gym.

Geoff Townsend: Great gym with an amazing coaching staff. The coaches are constantly improving themselves and passing their knowledge on to the members. Very supporting environment for all fitness levels. While some of the CrossFit movements may be really hard the coaches are excellent at making the workouts fit for all levels of fitness.

Maria Lempicki: Dropped-in at Ballston CrossFit and had a great experience. The owner was coaching and you could really see how much he enjoyed his job and had great knowledge of CrossFit. The gym was clean and in a great location.

Cihan D: Ballston CrossFit is a great facility with amazing, knowledgable, and friendly coaches. They are super invested in your growth. Nothing but good vibes at this place. Great box to attend for any fitness level. Tons of fun and killer workouts to make you look and feel good.

Darrin Clement: I was visiting town, and these folks had the absolute best options for open gym! I got to observe some classes, which were well run, while I was in the corner doing my own thing. Very good equipment and convenient location. Staff were much friendlier than some of the other CrossFit gyms in DC LOL!

Mary Jacoby: Ballston Cross Fit is the truly the best. The coaches are friendly and extremely well trained. They help beginners but also encourage people to continue taking their fitness to the next level. I unfortunately had to end my membership due to a move and miss this place a lot.

Grace Conerly: I dropped in for a couple days and had a great experience. The staff was very friendly, knowledgable, and obviously cared about anyone who walked through the doors. From my brief experience, it seems like it is a perfect affiliate for competitive athletes as well as beginners. BCF also has excellent facilities and equipment and is very clean. Highly recommend for anyone dropping in!
