Washington Sports Clubs - DuPont Circle: what do users think?

Jesse Bacon: I was in town three days for a conference and needed a gym to workout in… when we asked about daily passes the staff was super friendly and helpful in allowing me and a colleague to utilize the facility… I was able to complete all of my CrossFit workouts for the three days I was there. The facility was spacious and had everything we needed. Would totally recommend to anyone in the area looking for a gym home or those passing though on business. I’ll visit again whenever I’m in the area.

J Heather: Very friendly front desk staff and cleaning staff. Location is well maintained (cleanliness and equipment). The location can get crowded especially during rush hours (around lunch and at the end of the day). The other WSC nearby shutdown so their members automatically transferred to this location. Bathroom/lockers may be spotty at times but it depends on the time of the day. They offer membership discounts if you sign up in person (just a warning regarding the annual fee- they cannot waive it).

Conor O'Reilly: I had a personal training session with Phil and he did a great job! He taught me a lot about free weights and stretching. Now I feel more comfortable to use the more advanced equipment. They also have a pool, sauna, and basketball court. Love this place

Mahvash Edrissi: I started going to gym a month ago, first it was difficult to come out after so long time lock down. But after few days I got used to it now i want to go there everyday. Friendy staff, and clean place, and all equipment makes this place great. I do my exercise, take a shower and saunas, afterwards I feel great about myself. Thank you wsc

Washington Sports Clubs - Glover Park: what do users think?

My Comment: Great neighborhood gym. Staff there -- Mahlape, Olga, Luis -- who are there in the mornings are friendly and quick to help if you have questions. You get a neighborhood vibe from the place as compared to the nameless big gyms. Especially during the pandemic you can see the extra effort they put in to keep the place clean, open, and welcoming. They make you feel part of a family. Glad to be a Glover Park member.

Jason Yeung: Been a member for several months now. I’ve haven’t had a negative experience with team members. The people that workout here are also very respectful and friendly. In response to a negative review of a team member I wanted to share my experience with her. Towards me, she’s always been friendly and hospitable. She does her best to remember everyone by name and notices when your workout buddy isn’t with you, even to the point of asking if they’re ok. The lack of a 5th star is not because of the staff. I wish there were bumper plates, another squat rack, and high quality barbells. That’s most likely a corporate issue.

Ricardo Martinez: I must disagree with a previous review. Malape is a value member of the gym, she is courteous, polite and nice in general. If there is a piece of equipment that is behind the desk, she would gladly point it to me so I can grab it (due to COVID). Luis is another great asset to the gym, he always looks to have everything ready and clean for us to workout early in the morning, always say hi with a smile and good attitude. I am appreciative of their work.

John Byrne: This is a great sports club with a friendly neighborhood atmosphere. Mahlape has always been an incredible asset -- friendly, professional and knowledgeable -- and Luis keeps everything extremely clean. The club was renovated a few years ago, and there is great equipment and a lot of space. Also, very easy to get to on Wisconsin Avenue.

Alexandre B. Sagna: I love ❤️ being part of Washington Sport Club Glover Park. The whole staff is friendly 😊. Brought two of my buddies to train with me and they loved it. Yes it’s tiny that’s true so if you don’t like being close to each other I recommend not to come around pick time 😊.

Joao Pedro: Very friendly staff and great customer service! I also want to kindly disagree with what was said in the latest review since I believe that the “older black woman”, as she was referred, is actually a valuable member and a very nice person who contributes a lot to the gym with her nice work. I only have great words to say about the whole team that works there. The gym is always super clean. The machines are well maintained, and there’s a good number of ergs, so I don’t have to wait to do my cardio.

Will Wu: Great budget gym in Glover Park. Been a member for almost a year and never had any problems with them. Would recommend

Vinicio Aguirre: Wsc Glover is a gym that I highly recommend to the neighborhood or anyone looking to go have a good workout. It’s had major changes since the original Covid transitions. The people there are welcoming and enthusiastic when it comes to its members. If you are an individual that is somewhat of a germaphobe, there is an employee by name of Shanica who works hard keeping the cleanliness of the gym to its highest standards. She makes sure the antibacterial wipes are always stocked and the workout rooms as well as mats are cleaned daily. Overall I believe you come to the gym you’ll agree with my review.

Bernard Holland: I have not been to WSC Glover Park since the pandemic and plan to rejoin when things quiet down. Before that I was there most days for ten years. The elderly black woman Lizzie was referring to is Mahlape who has been there for more than 20 years. Mahlape is the glue that holds that club together. All the people I know that attended the club adored Mahlape. I cannot imagine her being rude undeservedly to anyone. Moreover I have seen a few altercations between staff and members in my time at the club. Invariably it was the members who were at fault.

Ambitious Athletics: what do users think?

shane shand: Ambitious Athletics has been an amazing place to improve my health, fitness, and knowledge. Carmen and Kam do a great job of giving instruction as well as the reasoning behind the movements. There’s a balance with the class sizes that allows me to get the personal critiques and tips I need to improve. From the day I stepped into AA the staff and members really made me feel like a part of their family and created a great workout experience. Amongst many fitness studios and classes I’ve tried Ambitious Athletics definitely stands out.

Jay Smith: Carmen and Cam are spectacular. I cannot say enough about this gym. Carmen is much more than a coach, a professor teaching with a mix of art and science. He is incredible. The workouts feel very much custom designed and personalized. I’ve been in CrossFit, kettle bell, and barbell classes, but none of those even come close to this. When I joined the gym, I was out of shape. I began to see very nice results in two weeks. I’ve never seen results that fast, nor to that extent. The gym is extremely clean and impeccably maintained. Classes are very small, and it doesn’t take long until the place feels like home. The environment is high energy and very positive. This will be the best part of your day.

Leah Judson: I only trust these guys to help me get back on my feet from a chronic leg injury. It was nearly a decade of not being able to run and a few weeks with them got me on the pavement again. Couldn’t recommend enough if you’re wanting real, caring attention that’s catered to your needs.

Allison Guarino: Ambitious Athletics is the only workout routine that has kept me motivated and constantly working out every Monday and Wednesday morning before work. It is a boot camp style training that is held indoors and uses body weight, resistance bands and kettle bells. Good music (sometimes rock, sometimes dance, sometimes rap, sometimes all) is played in-between instruction. Training classes are small so you basically get a personal trainer. The other athletes are nice, dedicated and all ages, shapes, and sizes. If you want to be stronger, try this. If you want to lose inches and tone up, try this. The head trainer Carmen is the backbone of this business. He is authentically "dedicated to your health" and inspires you to work harder. He is really the best.

Walt Schwenk: I had the pleasure of sampling Carmen’s Monday morning 7am class at Woodley Park a few weeks back. First thing I noticed was how wide open the facility is. I also saw all the equipment Carmen utilizes in his regiment. There were kettlebells, TRX, resistance bands and rollers spread all over the floor. The variety of equipment yields a wide range of exercises and movements that Carmen effectively implements in his plan. The workout itself was both very organized and effective; it’s a true full-body workout. My heart was pumping, my muscles were blasted, and I was sweating hard. Carmen does a great job pushing everyone to the limit of his/her ability. I consider myself someone who’s in great shape, and I was as tired as people who are more casual about fitness. He caters to everyone, but ultimately he pushes everyone past his or her normal thresholds. What it comes down to is if you have a chance to attend Carmen’s boot camp, and you choose not to, then you must not be serious about your health and fitness. Simple as that.

Nicholas Owens: Great staff and coaching. Prices are reasonable and program is structured to educate members prior to cutting them loose into classes. Suggest coach Evie for personal training/intro sessions, she is great!

Enrique Raba: Best gym in the DMV. The equipment is top notch and instructions are very knowledgeable. Also, the club has the best at atmosphere...

Tas Robin: Not your run of the mill CrossFit gym. Exceptionally clean. Equipped with superb quality Rogue equipment. Group classes and personal training for all levels of athletes

Diana Apalategui: Best strength and conditioning gym in DC! Owner Jay Morgan is an amazing coach and trainer!!

Daira Djuric: This is a next level type of workout. Space is incredible and coaches are amazing.

Frederico Bartels: Great facility

Equinox Sports Club Washington, D.C.: what do users think?

David Gershman: Today I signed up and had a great experience. Mike, in membership, not only showed me around- they answered every question with full clarity, gave me far more insight than I expected, and was simply very nice and sweet. I knew I was going to get a membership going in, but it’s nice to get warmth and comfort instantly upon arrival. Felt like I was one of the regular folks

TPMT Associates: Love it here as usual - they take care of the place and most importantly, the people who works out here take care of the place and is clean and tidy and doesn’t trash the place. As usual, it’s the people who come to gyms that are the messy/dirty and this place doesn’t have those ppl - not that I saw anyways!

John Heinemann: You get what you pay for. This gym doesn’t make sense for everyone, no one is a better person for going here, and a free gym in an apartment building is going to do 90% of what Equinox does. But the other 10%? I actually look forward to working out more when there’s both a sauna and a steam room, a saltwater pool, luxury bath products, memory foam floors for stretching, and refrigerators full of Eucalyptus infused face towels. I go for the amenities, and then I just decide to work out because I’m already there.

Spencer Moffat: I cannot recommend this gym enough! The employees here are very kind and helpful. The gym equipment could maybe be a bit better (only 1 squat rack and only 1 bench press) but it is great value as the monthly charge as the neighborhood monthly charge is only $30 per month. It is also a very clean gym and it is not crowded during the mornings and most of the afternoon (except it does get very busy during the evenings on weekdays).

Abraham zhao: I had a really good experience with my orientation meeting and found that the exercise areas are well-planned — given the space constraints of an in-shopping-center gym. The orientation meeting was really incredible because I wasn’t just sat around for a while for a marketing meeting. Instead, James (the trainer) read my intake form, helped me understand what could be accomplished within the gym and what nutrition might need to address, and then he immediately showing me exercises and talking about a realistic pace to achieve my goals (both in terms of individual workout pacing and scheduling longevity). He was very knowledgeable and the rest of the staff has been very cordial. I have not attended any of the classes and the sauna is currently closed due to the mask mandate, but the facility is kept very clean.

Sergio Ramirez: Outstanding staff - friendly and professional. Gym is kept clean and well maintained. Pleasant environment. Great location.

Kevin Sunita: I’ve recently joined CCAC since I heard about them from a fellow member. The classes looked like something I would be very interested in, but more so the stretch class. I’ve had back issues for quite a while now but after attending that class for a couple weeks, my back has never felt better. The instructor Vikky makes the class very fun and enjoyable along with the people that take it. Would highly recommend this gym!

Lallie Marita: The staff and trainers at CCAC have been some of the best. A lot of gyms feel very “money-grabber” so-to-speak and I have never once felt this way here, even though many will simply go out of their way to offer a correction or two. This gym also appears to attract everyone, but definitely leans toward a younger to middle-age crowd, all are welcome nonetheless!

Lisa Wu: I live closeby in a neighboring apartment complex and recently joined CCAC a couple months ago after touring the facility and doing a free trial. I highly recommend attending their Strong class with Hayat every Tuesday and Thursday; this has been a game changer for me and my fitness goals. It has helped me tighten up and tone my body all over - especially my core and inner thighs. This instructor is one of the best I have ever taken from and is extremely motivating and personable!

Edward Wendel: Great gym and great trainers. I have been using gym since its opening. I am now 81 (yes, I know, old). Have been training for several years with Razonte Dunn. He may be exceptional at training high performing athletes, but he also has a special gift for taking everyone seriously and taking them to the highest level they can achieve. He not only knows the mechanics of training, he communicates a desire to make you succeed that is contagious. This experience has been life-changing.

Asher Allman: Great gym at an affordable rate. Helpful and responsive staff, both in person trainers and with online/email inquiries. All the equipment you would need, and a really cool atmosphere/space. Big fan!

Rachael Hunt: I want to give 5 stars to Raz, one of the trainers. I’ve been working out with him in his group classes and it’s been a great experience. He is super enthusiastic and always plans engaging and effective workouts. He is a great motivator. If you are ready to push yourself, he’s the trainer for you.

Devon Murphy: Love this gym! Best gym in the area by far. My only recommendation would be to add mirrors in front of ALL the squat racks. It is beyond me why half would have mirrors and half do not.

Elite Athletics and Personal Training: Very very cool that they turned the old Capital Sports Complex into Athletic Republic. I trained there as a kid in Bowie and now they have a full sized facility?! Definitely gotta visit when I’m back in town.

Ryan Horning: Great place for basketball tournaments.

jay R.: This is a huge sports building. They have several indoor basketball courts, workout weight training, indoor turf field and more. I came here for an Under Armour basketball tournament with my son.The staff were very friendly and organized. They have a food cafeteria which served breakfast, lunch and dinner. The food was outstanding and they have a large menu, bigger than most basketball indoor places where tournaments are held! They have a variety of drink machines and food snack machines. They also have a large sitting area for a big groups of people. The parking is a huge parking lot with plenty of space. I do think they should have more indoor seating though. This is a really great place to host basketball tournaments.

Toni Gonzales: Went there for a youth basketball ball. No problems.

Banita Porter: The investment that the owner has made in this venue shows well. Thank you for improving the appearance of your business. Excellent location for tournaments.

Northwest Sport&Health: what do users think?

Gregory Cork: FITNESS AND FELLOWSHIP IN UPPER NORTHWEST DC If you work out, every once in a while you find that memorable gym – the place where not only your fitness soared, but so did your spirits when you walked in the door. Northwest Sport&Health (NWSH) is that kind of gym. It’s a given that any quality gym will have the equipment and amenities you need to get and stay in shape. NWSH certainly has all that: two floors, with cardio equipment, a bike spin room, and studios for all kinds of classes up top (and a full and varied weekly fitness schedule); and two thoroughly-equipped weight rooms downstairs – all the machines you’ll need plus plenty of free weights, including two Smith racks. But the essential, even ineffable factor always is the fitness staff. And on this count, NWSH is terrific. Led by General Manager Moses Robinson and Fitness Director Alex Switzky, these folks are professional, knowledgeable, attentive, supportive, engaging, courteous – and not only fun, but funny. (Make sure to ask Moses about The Smolder.) Most important to me personally was that NWSH served as a haven for me through most of the COVID-19 pandemic. Working out at NWSH (yes, with a mask), and hanging with the team and the people I got to know at the gym, came to be the anchor of my day. It was what I most looked forward to, each day, in a bizarre time – a time that otherwise would have lacked air and connection, and that would have meant isolation for this active person. I always will remember and be grateful to NWSH for that critical time and for their collective generosity of spirit.

Tala K: Northwest Sport and Health is the perfect gym. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The facility is always clean and has everything you need. Great instructors and all types of fitness classes and training available. The kids’ club is our favorite. The caregivers are experienced and caring, you can enjoy your workout without a worry. Love this place and highly recommend. Thank you!

Donna Rosen: I have been a member of Northwest Sport and Health for 10+ years. I like this gym for exercise because it is laid back, but has excellent equipment and a diverse membership. I have worked with several Personal Trainers at this gym. All were good, but John Vallimarescu is one of the best Personal Trainers I have ever had. He is very careful to address the unique needs of each client. He pushes you but does not exert excessive pressure -- perfect balance. I would recommend him to anyone looking for an outstanding Personal Trainer at NW S&H.

Belin Sport & Fitness: what do users think?

Manuel Morillo: I signed up for the six week challenge program with Corey in June with a goal of losing 25lbs. Now after 6 weeks of training and meal prepping, I am that much closer to my goal. I couldn’t make 25lbs due to having less time for outside training, but nonetheless I am extremely happy and pleased with the progress I made and, albeit slowly, continue to make. The program was reasonably priced, even on a student budget, and Corey made the entire process of getting situated easy. Workouts were very intensive and also very well coordinated. If adjustments needed to be made Corey would help every step of the way and do his best to adjust so you can focus on reaching your goal. The added benefit of having an accountability group also helps tremendously when things might seem to get tough. Highly recommend giving Corey a call or a visit, he does great work!

Hanna Haile: Corey is the best trainer I ever had. This program was amazing for me, I have never felt more accomplished after a work out than when I worked out with Corey. The program is exactly what it says it was and I was able to lose what I wanted to lose and create healthy habits for myself. I would definitely recommend this to all of my friends.

Robbie Allen: Corey Belin is the definition of a ninja warrior on and off the field. He genuinely cares about his clients, is extremely professional, and supportive. Moreover, he is a coach, motivator, and pushes you to your full potential. You will definitely see results when you train with Corey. He offers a lot of amazing services for all fitness levels. My personal favorite is his iSpinn class. Forget the bike and get ready to rock out with Corey. He takes you through a high impact workout that’s sure to burn those calories. Trust me when I say, Corey cuts calories (pounds)! Highly recommend!!

Les Frasier: Corey hands down is such an amazing trainer! He pushes you to limits you don’t believe you can achieve. I have tried many trainers but Corey takes it to another level. That spin class is everything!! I can’t get enough and need to sign up for the variety of classes he offers . I have to say I look forward to working out and despite the fact it’s online now, I still feel like I get personalized attention to keep me motivated! Please join take his class you won’t regret it!

Jennifer Cardno: Corey at Belin sport & fitness definitely knows what he is doing. The 6week challenge is an awesome program that actually delivers results! I absolutely love the workouts. They are always different and I feel so much stronger. The best part about this program though is the tailored meal plan which isn’t like anything I’ve done before. It’s not a diet at all but more a lifestyle change. I understand now the effects that certain food have on my body and am more conscious of the food choices I make. After doing the 6week challenge I feel like my best self and can’t wait to keep going!! If you are looking for a more healthy lifestyle and are willing to put in the work and have a great time doing it then yes this is the program for you!

patricia eisner: Corey has been my trainer for over 15 years . And every single class is new and different and challenging. I took spin class without bikes this morning and was reminded how hard I need to work when I take one or corey’sClasses. He is motivating, fun and won’t let you down !!!

Anji Corley: The. Best. Trainer. Ever! Corey and his energy and outgoing personality is one of the best I have ever experienced. I’ve known him for over 20 years and his classes never cease to be boring or make my body feel sore… And wonderful! He is creative, innovative and really wants the best for you you just give him a little time and he will transform your body. His East-good SPIN CLASS WITH NO BIKES it’s been one of my go to for the last 10 years. It is so inventive… It’ll blow your mind oh and 30 minutes you are sweating and you feel good and you can go on about your day.

FIT360 DC: what do users think?

Gaby Madrid: FIT360DC is the BEST gym in DC!! 👏🏽👏🏽 They go above and beyond to make sure that everyone is staying safe and healthy during the pandemic. They also have a variety of workout options to fit your comfort level. I absolutely loved their in-person classes!! I recently moved and have joined their virtual classes. The virtual classes are just as challenging and engaging as the in-person classes. Brian, Edgar, and Amina hold it down for folks on the virtual side, and have kept me from turning into a couch potato 🙃💕

Ariyana Monee: Great gym. Just wish there was more (and safer) parking , especially in evenings.

Rizwaan Akhtar: An amazingly effective and inclusive gym. Though I left this gym a year ago due to a move, I still credit my physical wellness today to Brian and FIT360. Because of their both challenging and welcoming environment, I not only grew stronger and healthier, but I feel like I have a solid foundational knowledge to build on. I credit this a lot to Brian’s unique and effective instruction. Especially now after joining a new gym after my move from DC, I’ve really come to appreciate how high-touch their support is. I wouldn’t be able to weightlift, do kettlebell exercises, or use other equipment safely and confidently in my new gym today if it wasn’t for FIT360. Their trainers actually take the time to carefully instruct, give feedback, and keep you safe. Also this gym totally raised the bar for me in terms of what to look for in my new city. A gym can both motivate you to show up and know you’ll be welcome, and it can challenge you to be a stronger, faster, and fitter version of yourself.

Golzar Meamar: I was struggling to find a way to get back into strength training and moving my body intentionally during the pandemic. I am very lucky to live around the corner from this gem of a community gym! During the COVID-19 pandemic, Fit360 DC has been very communicative, flexible, and innovative when it comes to helping its members workout safely. The outdoor classes are challenging and efficient, and are completely masked and distanced, which has made them that much more valuable to me during the pandemic! The coaches are also informative and helpful, and challenge us consistently!

C E: The Go for It spirit at Balance Gym is beyond impeccable. All of us want to help out in the contribution to our wonderful community held together by the strength of our Federal Government. Imagine sitting in front of a computer screen, organizing files and papers, having important meetings day and night about policies that affect the 50 States if not the World. Yes, I would go again to Balance Gym!

Grace Phillips: Amazing facility! Very clean! Staff is very accommodating. I was only visiting for the holidays and they have a one week and a two week option! Equipment is suitable for heavy lifters and those who desire a simpler workout. They offer tons of classes at great times. I think I found my gym away from home!

Stephanie C. Giancola: An amazing gym with a phenomenal staff! Jacob, the GM was extremely patient and tending to my million questions about what the gym has to offer. Boy, was I surprised! They have a variety of good equipment available, different sections to do turf workouts, weight lifting, cardio, yoga, etc. the building used to be a spa, so the locker rooms are dreamy, and they offer specials on esthetic/massage work upstairs. I was able to take a boot camp class before signing up for a membership. The class was challenging, but within reason. The coach was enthusiastic, and everybody was having a good time. There is a Crossfit section as well! And they even offer classes like solid core, with the Pilates machine! This gym has everything you need, even parking in the back! Ask for Jacob and he’ll set you up. Also—lots of cool freebies like a free personal training session and three free Pilates reformer classes to start you off!

Ultimate Performance Personal Trainers DC: what do users think?

Dian Stevens: I started working at the DC location of Ultimate Performance in November 2021. I was in drastic need of a reset. I gained weight during the pandemic, thanks to many poor choices on my part, and I knew that I needed to take some action. Ultimate Performance exceeded my expectations. I worked with the amazing Owen Browne. Owen is a dedicated fitness professional. Owen is patient, calm, and invested in helping each of his clients achieve their fitness goals. I felt safe with Owen and enjoyed how he consistently challenged me. Please do, however, watch out for Owen with his rep counts. He always seemed to add a few extra reps just when I thought I was done. Ultimate Performance has a unique atmosphere. The gym is immaculate and everyone knows your name. All of the trainers take the time to motivate every client in the gym. Another bonus is watching the trainers work on their own fitness. The trainers all look amazing, of course, but there is no resting on laurels at Ultimate Performance. The trainers challenge each other just as they challenge the clients. It is a great motivator. I am grateful to Owen for helping me shed 28 pounds. In addition, my cardio endurance has improved, my clothes fit again, and I feel great both physically and mentally. So, if you are tired of watching the numbers on the scale climb ever higher, tired of the mental fog, tired of making excuses, and positively fed up with purchasing compression garments to fit in your clothes, then you should definitely consider Ultimate Performance. Working with Ultimate Performance has been one of my best decisions. I recommend Ultimate Performance without hesitation.

Henry Defriez: Fully recommended to anyone seeking to achieve big weight loss or other fitness goals. I have been working with UP for just over two months, and am halfway to my weight loss goal (30 pounds so far). My trainer, Evelyn, has been a fantastic guide and motivator in our sessions, but also outside the gym in monitoring my nutrition plan and helping me stay on track while travelling (picking restaurant menus, preparing hotel gym sessions etc.) While the focus is naturally on hard work, the atmosphere in the gym is friendly, supportive and relaxed. It’s not cheap, but it’s definitely worth it for the physical and mental health benefits, especially if like me you have been struggling to make those gains by yourself.

Alexander Ragonese: I’ve been working out with Robert at UP for a little over 6 weeks now. While I’m excited I’ve lost over 13 lbs, I am more excited how dramatically the UP program has improved my quality of life. I have more energy, think more clearly and am happier overall. I initially signed up thinking I would give this a try for a month and likely quit but I now struggle to imagine my life without the UP program. While it is expensive, you absolutely get what you pay for. The program is personalized and Robert is constantly available for my questions to ensure I stay on track in and out of the gym. I can’t wait to see what they next 6 weeks bring.

Brian Weiss: DO IT! It’s not just that Ultimate Performance and the program gets results (it does... I’m down 50+ pounds!), but it’s also a complete mind and body change that sets you up for long-term success. It really is training in the broadest sense, because yes, it includes strength and lifting, but it also teaches good habits on nutrition, hydration, sleep and overall wellness. The program emphasizes the interconnectedness of these elements with a cool app and a trainer who is always there for you (whether you’re in the gym or not). As for the gym in DC… a totally supportive community where the team knows your name, and everyone roots for one another. Special shout out to Gavin – a first-rate trainer who built a custom program for me (that drew on his deep knowledge about the science of fitness) and pushed me through every obstacle to get the results he said were possible on the day we met. He was right. Like I said, DO IT!

Alvin Saha: I HIGHLY recommend Ultimate Performance DC! My trainer, Malik Carter, has kept me motivated and stays on top of my nutrition every day. Without him, I would have not been able to achieve the progress that I’ve made so far. In 3 months, I have lost 15 pounds and have significantly reduced my body fat%. I went back and forth with myself for weeks before I joined UP, and I am very glad that I finally decided to make the leap. In fact, I’m so satisfied that I just signed up for another 3 month package so that I can continue my progress towards my body goals.

Lee Ann C.: No matter what age you are (I’m 64!) or what shape you’re in, you will feel welcome at UP, and you will have the best gym experience of your life. My personal trainer, Jonathan Cardenas, is world class. He’s laser-focused on my workout, making sure that I’m doing each exercise in the safest, most effective way possible. He creates meal plans tailored to my nutritional needs, and he provides guidance on what to order when I’m eating out. Best of all, Jonathan is tuned in to what motivates me. At UP, you will not get a “cookie-cutter” gym experience. This is a gym that is focused on you, the individual. The results you get will astound you.

Balance Gym Foggy Bottom: what do users think?

Isaac Flath: Solid Gym - Exceptional Staff. Ms Dee is at the gym working the desk among other things in the early morning when I go and she is very professional, enthusiastic, friendly and helps me with anything I need immediately.

Briana Provost: Really enjoy coming to this gym. Everything is always very clean, and the staff are friendly. It can be a little tricky to find it since it’s entrance is through the Fairmont, but would definitely recommend to anyone who is looking for a gym in the DC area.

Emily Porat: Great gym with even better staff! I went to this gym weekly for a little over two years and have been really happy with my experience overall. It’s a small but well-appointed gym. Lots of cardio machines, a pool, and plenty of lifting equipment - 1 bench press station, 3 squat racks, and 2 platforms (one that also has a squat rack). I mostly came here to lift in the mornings and it was never too crowded. I didn’t attend many group classes, but the ones I did were small (<6 people) and well-run! The cherry on top is the top-notch staff. Miss D at the front desk is so friendly and welcoming, as are all the trainers I’ve chatted with. I’m only leaving Balance because I’m moving, and I’ll honestly really miss it!

Sarah Harmer: Every single staff member is so kind, friendly and helpful! The gym is always very clean and well maintained. I have never left a review before, but this place and the people deserve it :)

Stephanie C: Some of the best group fitness instructors and personal trainers I’ve ever met!! Love their classes

Crissi Luv: I love this gym. Spa like and tranquil. The classes are a1. Times are great. Classes all day.

Ryan D: When it comes to a gym, you get what you pay for, and, although this is a bit pricey and restrictive, that added benefits make me want to go to the gym. Excellent free weight section and class offerings. My only suggestion--extend closing hour from 8:00 pm to 10:00 p.m.

Evan Long: Everything you’d expect from the brand, and very seldom crowded except at absolute peak times. They’ve taken enhanced sanitation seriously given COVID, and I particularly appreciate that they kept their word and allowed me to break my one-year contract a couple months early when I moved away.

Wallace Bachman: So glad Equinox has found its way into DC proper! This location is spacious by New York Equinox standards, both on the floor, which is a single floor with ample natural light, and the men’s locker room. It’s very clean, the staff are friendly and beautiful, and everything is in great repair. I’ve never been to an Equinox where the stretching area was so well-equipped (bands etc etc) and well organized. The Juice Press was small and didn’t have much, but that seems to be the way of Equinox juice bars over the last several years. 😢

Crunch Fitness - Chevy Chase: what do users think?

Jade Rodrigues: I’m really happy to have joined this gym. I got some sessions and my trainer Dawn was super helpful and is the sweetest person! I had never had a trainer before and she exceeded all of my expectations. When I joined the gym I wasn’t sure how to start and felt intimidated with all the equipments options. Dawn showed me a variety of exercises and created a workout plan that was tailored to me, to my needs and what I need to improve. Seeing her definitely made me feel motivated and confident to keep going regularly to the gym. Dawn is super nice, caring, and dedicated, and I would see her every day if I could!

Katerina Athena: I’m a new member of crunch and I already love it! Everyone has been super friendly so far. I’m doing personal training with Sean. He is very attentive and personalizes my workouts. I have previous injuries to my spine and he really checks in and makes sure I’m not doing anything to further my injuries and incorporates workouts that will help strengthen areas that will lessen my chronic pain. I haven’t used the showers yet but it’s super nice that they provide towel service so you don’t have to carry a soggy towel out with you. There’s a parking lot in the back and you can get validated for 100 free minutes. I got a great deal on a few personal training sessions but I will continue to go even after those are finished!

Brian Jessup: Can’t say enough good things about this gym. Housekeeping is always keeping busy making sure the gym is spotless. Management always tries to answer questions and resolve concerns as quick as possible. Front desk staff always welcomes you with a smile and most even by name. Trainers are very knowledgeable and attentive.

Mikhail Nowlin: This is by far the best gym I have worked out at since moving too Maryland. Very clean, very friendly non judge mental environment. The staff are great! And for a low monthly price compared too other gyms. Check it out!!!!

Camilo Conde: The vibe of crunch is excellent. My trainer, Sean, and other staff are extremely helpful and positive. The variety of equipment is diverse and gives gym goers the ability to train with a highly varied program structure if desired. Also a short walk from the Friendship Heights metro station.

Marie Moylan: Excellent facility. Always active but never crowded. Great range of machinery and space for exercising. The cleaning staff are of the highest quality and are always working to clean and sanitize the facilities. Covid rules were followed religiously and I have always felt ‘Covid-safe’ working out there. We’ll organized, professional and friendly.

Colton Long: I’ve been coming to this Crunch location since fall 2018, and it’s been one of the best gyms I’ve frequented in the DMV. They’ve handled the pandemic and its ups and downs like rock stars. The only main caveat I’ll add here is that they desperately need squat racks that don’t have fixed safeties. Deadlift platforms are also a huge need, but squat racks with adjustable safeties are #1 on the list in my view.

Reformation Fitness – Cap Hill: what do users think?

Gladwin Gilman: Had my first class ever in my life and to say I enjoyed myself is an understatement. I’m on the curvier plus size and felt included and welcome in the class. It was small and vaccination records were required. Our instructor Natalie Rico made us feel even more welcomed and she was so patient and we are 10000 percent coming back. If you’re not a typical fit lady with abs and previous Pilates experience try a class and ask for Natalie.
