Washington Sports Clubs - DuPont Circle: what do users think?
G L
G L: Supports individuals following members and blames the victim for the harassment they endured. Canceled their membership for documenting the stalker following them and still charged them for the membership. Very unprofessional on the phone when this situation was being discussed and stated that the victim should have talked to management as if them being followed is something they would address. The company would not address the stalker and that is very clear. It is important that everyone feels safe and comfortable at the gym and they did not create that sort of environment for the victim. I would absolutely not suggest this gym and believe all current members cancel as soon as they possibly can. You are not safe. You will never be safe in this gym. They do not care about their customers…
Jesse Bacon
Jesse Bacon: I was in town three days for a conference and needed a gym to workout in… when we asked about daily passes the staff was super friendly and helpful in allowing me and a colleague to utilize the facility… I was able to complete all of my CrossFit workouts for the three days I was there. The facility was spacious and had everything we needed. Would totally recommend to anyone in the area looking for a gym home or those passing though on business. I’ll visit again whenever I’m in the area.
Response: Hi Jesse! That's amazing, we are so glad you were able to enjoy our Dupont Circle facility and what the club has to offer. We really hope to see you again in the future! Thanks again, HereToHelp@tsiclubs.com
J Heather
J Heather: Very friendly front desk staff and cleaning staff. Location is well maintained (cleanliness and equipment). The location can get crowded especially during rush hours (around lunch and at the end of the day). The other WSC nearby shutdown so their members automatically transferred to this location. Bathroom/lockers may be spotty at times but it depends on the time of the day. They offer membership discounts if you sign up in person (just a warning regarding the annual fee- they cannot waive it).
Response: J Heather, We're thrilled that you were satisfied with our Dupont Circle location. We are happy to hear our team members are meeting your expectations. Your feedback is appreciated, and we are here should you ever need help in the future. You can always reach us at Heretohelp@tsiclubs.com. Thanks again, Here to Help Team
Whittney Dents
Whittney Dents: A club member was being followed and recorded the interaction to protect himself. Instead of the manager being understanding, he abruptly canceled the members membership and would not give them a refund. In a society where you truly don’t know the intentions of people, recording yourself for protection should not be punished. Shame on this establishment and the manager.
Nesi Smith
Nesi Smith: This gym feel as if it’s ok for a member to be stalked and you terminate them because they’re recording for their safety!!! As a former law enforcement officer I felt the need to record was justifiable and due to the fact that he didn’t report it shouldn’t matter. You have all types of weirdos working out so the need to report is slim to none unless that person actually starts following and stalking you to point where every move you make they make!!!! Refund should have been given as well as an apology.
Micha-Re Newton
Micha-Re Newton: This gym disregards the safety of its members and instead punishes them for taking precautions of their own safety. A recent member had just posted an interaction on social media of how he was followed by a man throughout his entire visit. The man would move to every corner that the member did. Even down to preforming intimidating acts by setting his belongings directly next to the member. WSC then decided that they would suspend the members membership for “recording and posting. & should have taken it to management” yet no actions have been taking on the predatory behavior of the man that was recorded. I can’t imagine how they would treat a woman in this same situation if this is how they treated a gentleman.
Tiana Stewart
Tiana Stewart: This club does not care about the safety and well-being of their customers. Your membership will be terminated if you vent about the gym on social media with no refund of your monthly payment. This gym is not safe If you are attending alone. If you do go to this gym, please go with another person so that you were not followed around the gym.

Washington Sports Clubs - Columbia Heights: what do users think?
Kuntal Sen, MD, FACMG
Kuntal Sen, MD, FACMG: My poor review is due to following reasons: My trainer left abruptly without notice. I was charged for cancelling my session with him even though it was their fault. I have disputed the credit card charge. They are infamous for wrongly charging customers and fraudulent activity. They implemented covid vaccine card policy which was nice but didn’t inform customers. I and others was treated very unprofessionally by front desk during this day.
Response: Kuntal, We're sorry to hear of your less than satisfactory experience at our Columbia Heights location. We hope you will accept our sincerest apologies. We are committed to providing a great fitness experience, and we would like to make things right. Please send us an email to Heretohelp@tsiclubs.com so that we can determine how we can provide you with a solution. We value our customers' opinions and thank you for bringing this to our attention. All the best, Here to Help Team
Conor O'Reilly
Conor O'Reilly: I had a personal training session with Phil and he did a great job! He taught me a lot about free weights and stretching. Now I feel more comfortable to use the more advanced equipment. They also have a pool, sauna, and basketball court. Love this place
Response: Conor, Thank you for taking a moment to leave such a positive review for our Columbia Heights location and sharing your experience with our personal trainer, Phil. We are pleased to hear you enjoyed your personal training session with him and feel more comfortable with using the equipment around the facility. If you ever need anything, please do not hesitate to reach out to HeretoHelp@tsiclubs.com. Thanks again, Here to Help Team
Terry Chasteen
Terry Chasteen: I joined on a special rate, maybe it was 2018. Due to my own fault, I never used the gym ... not once. I cannot blame that on anyone else, however I would have thought with a new client in a business like this, someone would have reached out; invited me in for a tour, found out why I was paying monthly but never using the facility. No one ever contacted me for the full year that I was billed. That is not the worst part, however, Even though it was NOT in the contract, they automatically renewed my membership without my approval and not only at my original rate but almost $30/mo above. This went on for a year since I never used that credit card and it was paid monthly automatically by my bank. Only bc of sething else on the card did I notice the fraudulant charges and they were too old for my bank to recover.
Response: Terry, Thank you for reaching out regarding your experience at our Columbia Heights location. We’re always looking to make things right. We do truly appreciate the feedback as we’re always looking for ways to improve our member experience. Thanks for taking the time to leave this review and we hope you will provide us with an opportunity to do better. Please let us know if there is anything we can do for you by emailing us at Heretohelp@tsiclubs.com. All the best, Here to Help Team
Benyam Ephrem
Benyam Ephrem: Scheduled an InBody scan a week ago (as a non-member), came in prepped for the scan (no breakfast) at 10am - front desk said they did not have an appointment asking if I received a confirmation email (I said I got no calls or emails), then made me scan a QR code on a banner to schedule for another day since apparently the person doing the scans would be in at 5pm. Frustrating experience. Will not be coming back to the gym.
Response: Benyam, We are terribly sorry for your experience at our Columbia Heights location. It is because of customers like you that we can continue to learn how to improve. We are most certainly sad to hear that we fell short. We want to contact you and learn more about your recent experience. Please feel free to send us an email with additional details to Heretohelp@tsiclubs.com. All the best, Here to Help Team
Gregory Alan
Gregory Alan: Critical: QualityMediocre at best. See attached pictures below. The equipment is not well maintained and does not justify the cost of membership. Also the club hours are terrible on the weekends.
Response: Gregory, thank you very much for your feedback. We take our member's insights to heart, and we apologize for not providing you with the best possible experience in our clubs. As you know, the pandemic has presented a unique set of obstacles for most business but has especially affected the fitness industry. If you are open to discussing further we would love to connect you with one of our Customer Relations Managers at heretohelp@tsiclubs.com. All the best, Here to help team
Thaiz Alicia
Thaiz Alicia: Do not come to this gym!!! They do not care for your safety!! They will cancel your membership for protecting yourself from weird men that will follow you around ! Stay safe and go to a gym that will help you out and help you enjoy your gym experience instead of canceling your membership!
Mahvash Edrissi
Mahvash Edrissi: I started going to gym a month ago, first it was difficult to come out after so long time lock down. But after few days I got used to it now i want to go there everyday. Friendy staff, and clean place, and all equipment makes this place great. I do my exercise, take a shower and saunas, afterwards I feel great about myself. Thank you wsc
Response: Mahvash, We're delighted to hear about your experience. We truly appreciate your recommendation of our Columbia Heights location. We will work hard to continue going above and beyond. As always, our team is looking forward to your next visit. We are always here if you have any additional feedback or suggestions. You can reach us at Heretohelp@tsiclubs.com. Bita Kh
Bita Kh: The worst customer service I’ve ever seen. Nobody takes responsibility for the actions. They charge me with new fee membership that is more than the original one because of the mistake that made by themselves. I’ve spoke with customer service and sales department several times, everybody already aware of this problem but no action. When I follow up they send me to new person. This is absurd.
Response: Bita, We're sorry to hear of your less than satisfactory experience at our Columbia Heights location. We hope you will accept our sincerest apologies. We are committed to providing a great fitness experience, and we would like to make things right. Washington Sports Clubs - Glover Park: what do users think?
My Comment
My Comment: Great neighborhood gym. Staff there -- Mahlape, Olga, Luis -- who are there in the mornings are friendly and quick to help if you have questions. You get a neighborhood vibe from the place as compared to the nameless big gyms. Especially during the pandemic you can see the extra effort they put in to keep the place clean, open, and welcoming. They make you feel part of a family. Glad to be a Glover Park member.
Response: Judd, We can't thank you enough for your 5-star rating of our Glover Park location. It means the world to us and lets us know we're on the right track! We are thrilled to hear that our team members are always welcoming, as we strive to deliver the best customer service. We are always happy to help should you ever need assistance in the future. You can reach us at Heretohelp@tsiclubs.com. Thanks for being a part of Washington Sports Clubs. Thanks again, Here to Help Team
Jason Yeung
Jason Yeung: Been a member for several months now. I’ve haven’t had a negative experience with team members. The people that workout here are also very respectful and friendly. In response to a negative review of a team member I wanted to share my experience with her. Towards me, she’s always been friendly and hospitable. She does her best to remember everyone by name and notices when your workout buddy isn’t with you, even to the point of asking if they’re ok. The lack of a 5th star is not because of the staff. I wish there were bumper plates, another squat rack, and high quality barbells. That’s most likely a corporate issue.
Response: Jason, We appreciate the time you took to rate our Glover Park location. Thanks for acknowledging our team members daily efforts. We would like to thank you for your constructive feedback. We are continuously working to make improvements when it comes to delivering the best fitness experience. If you would like to share any additional feedback, we are here to listen with care. You can reach us at Heretohelp@tsiclubs.com. All the best, Here to Help Team
Ricardo Martinez
Ricardo Martinez: I must disagree with a previous review. Malape is a value member of the gym, she is courteous, polite and nice in general. If there is a piece of equipment that is behind the desk, she would gladly point it to me so I can grab it (due to COVID). Luis is another great asset to the gym, he always looks to have everything ready and clean for us to workout early in the morning, always say hi with a smile and good attitude. I am appreciative of their work.
Response: Ricardo, We always enjoy hearing what our customers have to say. Thanks for shouting out our awesome team members Malape and Luis. We're glad we could be of service and that you had a great experience at our Glover Park location. Thank you for taking the time to leave this review, and we appreciate your kind words. We are always here to listen with care. You can reach us at Heretohelp@tsiclubs.com should you ever need assistance in the future. Thanks again, Here to Help Team
John Byrne
John Byrne: This is a great sports club with a friendly neighborhood atmosphere. Mahlape has always been an incredible asset -- friendly, professional and knowledgeable -- and Luis keeps everything extremely clean. The club was renovated a few years ago, and there is great equipment and a lot of space. Also, very easy to get to on Wisconsin Avenue.
Response: John, Thank you for being a loyal member of our Glover Park location. Many thanks for thinking of us and leaving a 5-Star review. We would also like to thank you for recognizing our team members Mahlape and Luis. We're grateful for your trust, confidence, and business in choosing Washington Sports Clubs as your fitness provider. We hope to continue to exceed your expectations. You can always share feedback, or should you ever need assistance; you can reach us at Heretohelp@tsiclubs.com. Thanks again, Here to Help Team
Alexandre B. Sagna
Alexandre B. Sagna: I love ❤️ being part of Washington Sport Club Glover Park. The whole staff is friendly 😊. Brought two of my buddies to train with me and they loved it. Yes it’s tiny that’s true so if you don’t like being close to each other I recommend not to come around pick time 😊.
Response: Dear Alexandre, Thanks so much for taking the time to share such positive feedback! It is truly touching to know you think so highly of us and are sharing this experience with your friends! If you ever need anything please don't hesitate to reach out to our team at HereToHelp@tsiclubs.com. Thanks again, HereToHelp Team
Joao Pedro
Joao Pedro: Very friendly staff and great customer service! I also want to kindly disagree with what was said in the latest review since I believe that the “older black woman”, as she was referred, is actually a valuable member and a very nice person who contributes a lot to the gym with her nice work. I only have great words to say about the whole team that works there. The gym is always super clean. The machines are well maintained, and there’s a good number of ergs, so I don’t have to wait to do my cardio.
Response: Thank you for the kind words, João! We’re so happy your membership experience went so smoothly. We love to provide great service to awesome members like you. If you ever need anything please do not hesitate to reach out to HeretoHelp@tsiclubs.com. Thanks again! Marc Digital Member Relations Manager
Will Wu
Will Wu: Great budget gym in Glover Park. Been a member for almost a year and never had any problems with them. Would recommend

Vinicio Aguirre
Vinicio Aguirre: Wsc Glover is a gym that I highly recommend to the neighborhood or anyone looking to go have a good workout. It’s had major changes since the original Covid transitions. The people there are welcoming and enthusiastic when it comes to its members. If you are an individual that is somewhat of a germaphobe, there is an employee by name of Shanica who works hard keeping the cleanliness of the gym to its highest standards. She makes sure the antibacterial wipes are always stocked and the workout rooms as well as mats are cleaned daily. Overall I believe you come to the gym you’ll agree with my review.
Response: Hi Vinicio - thank you very much for your review of our Glover Park location! We are so thrilled to hear that you are enjoying our club. We appreciate your continued loyalty and if there is any further feedback that you wish to send us, please contact us at HereToHelp@tsiclubs.com. Thanks again, HereToHelp Team
Bernard Holland
Bernard Holland: I have not been to WSC Glover Park since the pandemic and plan to rejoin when things quiet down. Before that I was there most days for ten years. The elderly black woman Lizzie was referring to is Mahlape who has been there for more than 20 years. Mahlape is the glue that holds that club together. All the people I know that attended the club adored Mahlape. I cannot imagine her being rude undeservedly to anyone. Moreover I have seen a few altercations between staff and members in my time at the club. Invariably it was the members who were at fault.
Response: Bernard, Thank you for taking the time to rate our Glover Park location. Your satisfaction is our priority, and we take pride in delivering exceptional service. We look forward to your return and continuing to support your fitness journey. We are always here if you ever need assistance in the future. You can always reach us at Heretohelp@tsiclubs.com. Ambitious Athletics: what do users think?
shane shand
shane shand: Ambitious Athletics has been an amazing place to improve my health, fitness, and knowledge. Carmen and Kam do a great job of giving instruction as well as the reasoning behind the movements. There’s a balance with the class sizes that allows me to get the personal critiques and tips I need to improve. From the day I stepped into AA the staff and members really made me feel like a part of their family and created a great workout experience. Amongst many fitness studios and classes I’ve tried Ambitious Athletics definitely stands out.
Jay Smith
Jay Smith: Carmen and Cam are spectacular. I cannot say enough about this gym. Carmen is much more than a coach, a professor teaching with a mix of art and science. He is incredible. The workouts feel very much custom designed and personalized. I’ve been in CrossFit, kettle bell, and barbell classes, but none of those even come close to this. When I joined the gym, I was out of shape. I began to see very nice results in two weeks. I’ve never seen results that fast, nor to that extent. The gym is extremely clean and impeccably maintained. Classes are very small, and it doesn’t take long until the place feels like home. The environment is high energy and very positive. This will be the best part of your day.
Leah Judson
Leah Judson: I only trust these guys to help me get back on my feet from a chronic leg injury. It was nearly a decade of not being able to run and a few weeks with them got me on the pavement again. Couldn’t recommend enough if you’re wanting real, caring attention that’s catered to your needs.
Allison Guarino
Allison Guarino: Ambitious Athletics is the only workout routine that has kept me motivated and constantly working out every Monday and Wednesday morning before work. It is a boot camp style training that is held indoors and uses body weight, resistance bands and kettle bells. Good music (sometimes rock, sometimes dance, sometimes rap, sometimes all) is played in-between instruction. Training classes are small so you basically get a personal trainer. The other athletes are nice, dedicated and all ages, shapes, and sizes. If you want to be stronger, try this. If you want to lose inches and tone up, try this. The head trainer Carmen is the backbone of this business. He is authentically "dedicated to your health" and inspires you to work harder. He is really the best.
Walt Schwenk
Walt Schwenk: I had the pleasure of sampling Carmen’s Monday morning 7am class at Woodley Park a few weeks back. First thing I noticed was how wide open the facility is. I also saw all the equipment Carmen utilizes in his regiment. There were kettlebells, TRX, resistance bands and rollers spread all over the floor. The variety of equipment yields a wide range of exercises and movements that Carmen effectively implements in his plan. The workout itself was both very organized and effective; it’s a true full-body workout. My heart was pumping, my muscles were blasted, and I was sweating hard. Carmen does a great job pushing everyone to the limit of his/her ability. I consider myself someone who’s in great shape, and I was as tired as people who are more casual about fitness. He caters to everyone, but ultimately he pushes everyone past his or her normal thresholds. What it comes down to is if you have a chance to attend Carmen’s boot camp, and you choose not to, then you must not be serious about your health and fitness. Simple as that.

Urban Athletic Club: what do users think?
Nicholas Owens
Nicholas Owens: Great staff and coaching. Prices are reasonable and program is structured to educate members prior to cutting them loose into classes. Suggest coach Evie for personal training/intro sessions, she is great!
Response: Thanks, Nicholas!
Sesquile Ramon
Sesquile Ramon: Overpriced. Meh equipment (missing crucial CrossFit equipment, as well as quality Oly lifting material). Programing has changed multiple times over the years but is consistently mediocre, with lackluster management. Recommend going trying any of the other CrossFit or weightlifting gyms in the area.
Response: Thanks for your opinion on our space. I would like to address your comments in general and then specifically to you. First, the "overpriced" comment. We offer a scalable option based on attendance. At our highest, the 5x/week membership, the price is $329. That works out to $16.45 per class. That's more than fair with our class sizes at 8-12 people. This allows us to pay our staff a livable wage without working 50 hours which is so common in the fitness industry. With that price members also get Open Gym access during non-class times. And members get a door code for after hours. Second, "meh equipment"? I simply disagree. 12 Rogue mens' bars, 7 womens' bars, 4 training bars, a hex bar. Rogue benches, plates, rig, sleds, dumbbells, and kettlebells. Concept 2 rowers and ski-ergs. Assault bikes and Air Runners. Climbing ropes, gymnastics rings. Wooden and soft plyo boxes. Mobility and recovery equipment. Oh, we're missing a GHD that 1% of our membership used. The movement can be replicated with other movements. Third, "programming". We have and will continue to search for the best programming that is safe, effective, and fun. Programming changed as head coaches changed. To address the reliance on one individual we spent 6 months interviewing programming companies, from Functional Bodybuilding, NCFIT, CompTrain, CF Affiliate programming, etc. We settled on Level Method as our overall philosophies on training matched. Now members get programming delivered days ahead of time. They can scale each class to their individual skill and strength. Our coaches are better prepared day in and day out. Just this week over 10 members set PRs on lifts. We have lost no one to injury. Safe, effective, fun. Finally, "lackluster" management. Ok, so maybe that's more subjective. Allow me to argue against your opinion. When the pandemic hit, we pivoted the next day to online classes. We lent out all of equipment, some of which never came back. When we could train outside we built 8 lifting platforms and bought tents for each one. Then we replaced the portable tents with a one 60'x 15' tent and placed rubber flooring underneath. And we added plants for ambience. During this time we built an indoor lifting platform, created seating and storage area. We rearranged the gym to easily allow equipment to be taken outside. And when we could return inside we changed to the class schedule to reduce member congregation. Also, we developed a check-in system to we could notify members of covid exposure. During this pandemic we still paid our staff, we worked continuously, and actually grew our membership base. Urban Athletic Club has worked diligently to maintain high-standards in coaching, equipment, and client satisfaction. As for your 1-star rating (previously you had given us a 5-star), I believe it is entirely based on the rate increase we sent you. You were paying a rate 55% below new clients. That is not fair to other members. Furthermore, your discount was due to a partner rate that we did not end when your partner cancelled his membership. We have learned from this mistake and no longer offer discounts. We offer the same fair rates to everyone, which is based on their attendance commitment. We also have a simple 30-day cancelation policy without any long-term contracts. I understand that may have felt hurt and angry after the rate increase. I hope that you find solace in your new gym.
Enrique Raba
Enrique Raba: Best gym in the DMV. The equipment is top notch and instructions are very knowledgeable. Also, the club has the best at atmosphere...
Tas Robin
Tas Robin: Not your run of the mill CrossFit gym. Exceptionally clean. Equipped with superb quality Rogue equipment. Group classes and personal training for all levels of athletes
Diana Apalategui
Diana Apalategui: Best strength and conditioning gym in DC! Owner Jay Morgan is an amazing coach and trainer!!
Daira Djuric
Daira Djuric: This is a next level type of workout. Space is incredible and coaches are amazing.
Response: Thanks for your review! Hope to see you again !

Equinox Sports Club Washington, D.C.: what do users think?
David Gershman
David Gershman: Today I signed up and had a great experience. Mike, in membership, not only showed me around- they answered every question with full clarity, gave me far more insight than I expected, and was simply very nice and sweet. I knew I was going to get a membership going in, but it’s nice to get warmth and comfort instantly upon arrival. Felt like I was one of the regular folks
Response: Hi David, thanks for the 5 stars!
June Wade
June Wade: Scheduled a spa massage for my friend’s birthday at the Ritz Carlton/ Equinox (Foggy Bottom) location. The staff was courteous and the gym was clean. I was disappointed the spa does not offer champagne or snacks for special occasions, instead we were given “swag bags” full of gym advertisements and trinkets. If you’re not a guest at the hotel, arriving early is highly recommended (parking, etc). Must walk outside to enter Equinox since elevator access to spa is for guest only. My massage therapist was (Donna) friendly, courteous but chatty. I was not interested in talking about where I live, hearing comments about my “poor”elbows🙄 or asking why my shoulders were so tight during my 80 minute massage. Unfortunately , the massage was not good (technique). Ambiance was fair in the room, there was no soothing music or waterfall fountains, just dim lights, and a cool quiet room. The warm bed with robes was a nice perk. Not a fan of the massage lotion (dry paste) used, she had to continuously spend time stepping away from the massage to reapply. I’m giving this spa 3 stars ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️since my girlfriend had a positive experience with her masseuse. In addition, they provided a quiet space and champagne glasses for us to enjoy our BYOB champagne post massage. Would not recommend, lacks luxury for the price. $500+ ( 2 people)
TPMT Associates
TPMT Associates: Love it here as usual - they take care of the place and most importantly, the people who works out here take care of the place and is clean and tidy and doesn’t trash the place. As usual, it’s the people who come to gyms that are the messy/dirty and this place doesn’t have those ppl - not that I saw anyways!
Response: Thank you for reviewing!
John Heinemann
John Heinemann: You get what you pay for. This gym doesn’t make sense for everyone, no one is a better person for going here, and a free gym in an apartment building is going to do 90% of what Equinox does. But the other 10%? I actually look forward to working out more when there’s both a sauna and a steam room, a saltwater pool, luxury bath products, memory foam floors for stretching, and refrigerators full of Eucalyptus infused face towels. I go for the amenities, and then I just decide to work out because I’m already there.
Response: Thanks for the 5 stars, John! Glad to hear you are enjoying our amenities.
Gelila Sebhatu
Gelila Sebhatu: I called to inquiry about membership packages and I found the sales rep, Erica, a little rude and she did not directly answer my questions, which was irritating. Based on the reviews here, I’m not surprised I received this type of experience. I guess I’ll be looking elsewhere. I just wanted a nearby pool 🏊‍♀️
Response: Hi Gelila, we are sorry to hear you had this experience. We hope that you will give us another shot to show you we are capable of better service.
Ebony Williams
Ebony Williams: Do not work at equinox if you have living situation or just a situation period the manger Duane don’t care if you have living situation problems he even told one of the employees that mid shift is childish because we all going through something sorry if you hired people who have living situation or who gave problems and be careful of the Towels and hand towels they wash them in hot water only no solution that why the towels look a little dirty Yess I use to work their and got fired because I was trying to find a place to stay the days I called out because I was homeless the cleaning manger is horrible at his job and HR needs to send a Secret Santana to see how they clean the place

Washington Sports Clubs - North Bethesda: what do users think?
Spencer Moffat
Spencer Moffat: I cannot recommend this gym enough! The employees here are very kind and helpful. The gym equipment could maybe be a bit better (only 1 squat rack and only 1 bench press) but it is great value as the monthly charge as the neighborhood monthly charge is only $30 per month. It is also a very clean gym and it is not crowded during the mornings and most of the afternoon (except it does get very busy during the evenings on weekdays).
Response: Spencer, thank you for the great review!! We are so happy that you love North Bethesda WSC - our team works hard to provide an excellent fitness experience. If there is ever anything we can do to assist, please do not hesitate to reach us at heretohelp@tsiclubs.com. All the best, Here to help team
Abraham zhao
Abraham zhao: I had a really good experience with my orientation meeting and found that the exercise areas are well-planned — given the space constraints of an in-shopping-center gym. The orientation meeting was really incredible because I wasn’t just sat around for a while for a marketing meeting. Instead, James (the trainer) read my intake form, helped me understand what could be accomplished within the gym and what nutrition might need to address, and then he immediately showing me exercises and talking about a realistic pace to achieve my goals (both in terms of individual workout pacing and scheduling longevity). He was very knowledgeable and the rest of the staff has been very cordial. I have not attended any of the classes and the sauna is currently closed due to the mask mandate, but the facility is kept very clean.
Response: Thank you for the kind words, Abraham! We’re so happy your membership experience is going so smoothly. We love to provide excellent service to awesome members like you. If you ever need anything, please do not hesitate to reach out to HeretoHelp@tsiclubs.com. Thanks again! Here to Help Team
Timothy Rutherford
Timothy Rutherford: The overall space is fine. It feels busy quickly in the free weights area if more than 10 are working out there. The cardio space has plenty of machines across the various types so it doesn’t feel as cramped. The space designated for core and miscellaneous can feel small at times given the cornucopia of stuff you can do there (good and bad of course). The staff are consistently nice and polite. There are roaming sanitary technicians throughout the entire day, so you can see the facility is being cleaned. The class selection is okay. They are offering more classes more often now. The class spaces need better ventilation, but that’s not a deal breaker. Much of the equipment is dated (rust spots, stained) with broken and/or missing components (pins or clips). The dumbbell selection is great. There are plenty of weight plates and various bars. Overall, the gym is adequate in relation to the cost.
Response: Timothy, Thank you for the feedback, and I apologize for not providing the best possible experience in our club. We take all of our member's feedback to heart. We're in the process of making some significant changes. I'd like to learn how we could avoid these mistakes in the future and for the chance to make this up to you. I am having a bit of trouble finding your account; if you’re open to discussing further, please reach out to me at HeretoHelp@tsiclubs.com. All the best, Here to Help Team
Ethan
Ethan: This i think this is possibly the worst gym in the world. SAVE YOUR MONEY DO NOT GO HERE. Please just go to another gym. The people that work here are not particularly bad and are just trying to make a living. But i have had one or two bad experiences with people working at the desk. the gym is gloomy and cold and not even worth a visit. Finally the main caveat of this gym is the sheer lack of equipment frankly it is barely a gym there is one bench and one squat rack which is frankly unacceptable for any “gym” as well as not enough equipment in general. This gym would be good if it was only one person.
Response: Ethan, Thank you for the feedback, and I apologize for the negative experience you had in our club. We take all of our member's feedback to heart. We're in the process of making some significant changes. I'd like to learn how we could avoid these mistakes in the future and for the chance to make this up to you. Sergio Ramirez
Sergio Ramirez: Outstanding staff - friendly and professional. Gym is kept clean and well maintained. Pleasant environment. Great location.
Response: Sergio, thank you very much for the great review! We are humbled to be a part of your fitness journey. If there is ever anything we can do to help, please do not hesitate to reach out at heretohelp@tsiclubs.com. All the best, Here to help team
Ashenafi Maru
Ashenafi Maru: Somebody just broke two locker keys and took the bags with the valuables. The gym has no a single security camera even in the lobby. Normally members need to scan their code at the lobby but the gym couldn’t help us identify how the thief entered without scanning. The locker rooms aren’t safe at all. To my surprise the gym doesn’t report to the Police but advise the member to report by himself.
Response: Ashenafi, Thank you for the feedback, and I apologize for the negative experience you had in our club. We take all of our member's feedback to heart. We're in the process of making some significant changes. I want to learn how we could avoid these mistakes in the future and for the chance to make this up to you. Chevy Chase Athletic Club: what do users think?
Kevin Sunita
Kevin Sunita: I’ve recently joined CCAC since I heard about them from a fellow member. The classes looked like something I would be very interested in, but more so the stretch class. I’ve had back issues for quite a while now but after attending that class for a couple weeks, my back has never felt better. The instructor Vikky makes the class very fun and enjoyable along with the people that take it. Would highly recommend this gym!
Lallie Marita
Lallie Marita: The staff and trainers at CCAC have been some of the best. A lot of gyms feel very “money-grabber” so-to-speak and I have never once felt this way here, even though many will simply go out of their way to offer a correction or two. This gym also appears to attract everyone, but definitely leans toward a younger to middle-age crowd, all are welcome nonetheless!
Lisa Wu
Lisa Wu: I live closeby in a neighboring apartment complex and recently joined CCAC a couple months ago after touring the facility and doing a free trial. I highly recommend attending their Strong class with Hayat every Tuesday and Thursday; this has been a game changer for me and my fitness goals. It has helped me tighten up and tone my body all over - especially my core and inner thighs. This instructor is one of the best I have ever taken from and is extremely motivating and personable!
Medhavi Bhatia
Medhavi Bhatia: I would be very careful with this facility. The owners are very bad at managing billing. Look at my credit card statement below. I left the club in Feb and after a couple of disputes which I presumed settled this, I noticed very late that the owner kept charging me. By the time I found out, the credit card company would not refund me between March and May. I informed the club in September and after that not only they did not refund me between March and May, they also kept charging me in Oct, Nov and Dec. The owner was extremely rude and I found that they have done this with other members too. They sign members up and if the member does not meet their revenue generation criteria within a year, they kick the member out and make up the loss via such billing as much as possible. I am $500 down! Please save yourself!
Rebecca Post
Rebecca Post: Critical: Communication, ProfessionalismSimilar to a previous poster, we canceled our membership and continue to be charged months after. Despite writing several times to Claire, no response. - WOW, that response below is rich given we did all the paperwork on November 23rd and are still being charged.
Response: Hello Ms. Post, We hope you are staying healthy, but despite repeating the cancellation process *several* times over the course of *several* months, you chose to make an exception for yourself. You could have come into the business to cancel or send a certified letter and I easily and happily would have taken care of this for you - no questions asked and no problems moving forward. When you sign a contract, you are expected to abide by the rules laid out in it. We understand there is a pandemic, which is why I have made exceptions, such as meeting people outside of the building or having them send a certified letter. We have hundreds upon hundreds of members, so sticking to the cancellation policy is critical in staying organized and taking care of matters like these adequately and properly. We wish you well and wish we could have taken care of this a long time ago. Very Best, CCAC

Capitol Hill Sport&Health: what do users think?
Edward Wendel
Edward Wendel: Great gym and great trainers. I have been using gym since its opening. I am now 81 (yes, I know, old). Have been training for several years with Razonte Dunn. He may be exceptional at training high performing athletes, but he also has a special gift for taking everyone seriously and taking them to the highest level they can achieve. He not only knows the mechanics of training, he communicates a desire to make you succeed that is contagious. This experience has been life-changing.
Response: Hi Edward, Thank you for the 5-stars! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Asher Allman
Asher Allman: Great gym at an affordable rate. Helpful and responsive staff, both in person trainers and with online/email inquiries. All the equipment you would need, and a really cool atmosphere/space. Big fan!
Response: Hi Asher, Thank you for the 5-stars! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Rachael Hunt
Rachael Hunt: I want to give 5 stars to Raz, one of the trainers. I’ve been working out with him in his group classes and it’s been a great experience. He is super enthusiastic and always plans engaging and effective workouts. He is a great motivator. If you are ready to push yourself, he’s the trainer for you.
Response: Hi Rachael, We are happy to hear you had a positive experience at Capitol Hill Sport&Health! We value your input and encourage you to let us know more details about your experience with us.
Sam C
Sam C: I do not recommend this gym, they have terribly dishonest billing practices. It borders on a scam. I requested cancellation of my account during COVID, and was told on the phone that "as a courtesy" they would instead freeze my account until I was ready to start coming back. 3 months later, they started billing me again. Shame on me, I only noticed this 4-5 months later. When I contacted them, they said "you are not eligible for a refund without proof of a previous written request to extend the freeze on your account." Despite the fact I was never told I would need to request an extension. I was never told I needed an extension, I was told to contact them when I wanted to come back. Reading through other reviews, it appears this is a common problem.
Response: Hello [NAME] If you’re open to discussing your experience further, please call us at (202) 234-5678. We’d greatly appreciate the opportunity to make things right and work toward earning back your business.
Devon Murphy
Devon Murphy: Love this gym! Best gym in the area by far. My only recommendation would be to add mirrors in front of ALL the squat racks. It is beyond me why half would have mirrors and half do not.
Response: Hi Devon, On behalf of myself and the team, we are so happy that you are enjoying your experience with us! It has been a pleasure serving you and we look forward to more great experiences at Capitol Hill Sport&Health.

Athletic Republic Capitol Region: what do users think?
Donnie B2
Donnie B2: This is a great facility for the price...love working out here. BUT, and I cannot stress this strongly enough, the ladies restroom/shower area is HORRIBLY unkept and unsanitary. Always out out soap, half the stalls are not in working order and paper/trash littering the floors. I have never seen the this area clean whether working out there first thing in the morning or later in the evening. You really need to get a handle on cleaning the restroom/shower area.
Elite Athletics and Personal Training
Elite Athletics and Personal Training: Very very cool that they turned the old Capital Sports Complex into Athletic Republic. I trained there as a kid in Bowie and now they have a full sized facility?! Definitely gotta visit when I’m back in town.
Ryan Horning
Ryan Horning: Great place for basketball tournaments.
jay R.
jay R.: This is a huge sports building. They have several indoor basketball courts, workout weight training, indoor turf field and more. I came here for an Under Armour basketball tournament with my son.The staff were very friendly and organized. They have a food cafeteria which served breakfast, lunch and dinner. The food was outstanding and they have a large menu, bigger than most basketball indoor places where tournaments are held! They have a variety of drink machines and food snack machines. They also have a large sitting area for a big groups of people. The parking is a huge parking lot with plenty of space. I do think they should have more indoor seating though. This is a really great place to host basketball tournaments.
Toni Gonzales
Toni Gonzales: Went there for a youth basketball ball. No problems.
FOR THE RECORD FOR THE RECORD
FOR THE RECORD FOR THE RECORD: When I tell you?? The WORRRSST!! The Worst!! GHETTO AT ITS FINEST!!! I would NOT I SAY WOULD NOT HOST NOTHING HERE. UNPROFESSIONAL
Response: Greetings, we’re very sorry you had a disappointing experience at our facility. Do you mind if our General Manager contacts you to learn more about your experience? We strive to create a positive atmosphere for everyone who enters our doors, and, when we fall short, we desire to make amends. If you are amenable, please provide a contact email or phone number, and our General Manager will contact you.
C Wash
C Wash: Wow. Where to begin...this place is a nightmare. Unprofessional staff, customer service barely none existent. While I was there for an event, I hope to never have to return. Even the restroom, just gross. They sent out a text informing spectors of policy change late, not taking into consideration some people travel a great distance. NO THANK YOU!!
Banita Porter
Banita Porter: The investment that the owner has made in this venue shows well. Thank you for improving the appearance of your business. Excellent location for tournaments.

Northwest Sport&Health: what do users think?
Guido Zucconi
Guido Zucconi: Equipment is plentiful and in decent shape. But the place is dirty. Same layers of untouched dust, same balls of hair in the corners and on the equipment day in and day out. Showers are below average in cleanliness as well. Members and staff alike don’t bother wiping equipment after use or re-racking weights. There are weights all over the place. Needs a culture change which starts with staff and trickles down to the members.
Response: Hello Guido, We’re sorry to hear of your less than satisfactory experience and hope you will accept our sincerest apologies. Being known for our great customer service it came as a surprise, and we would like to make things right. Please give us a call to determine how we can provide you with a solution that makes you smile. We value our customers opinions and would like to thank you for bringing this to our attention.
Eli Geb
Eli Geb: I would not recommend signing a contract with them at all! Rude management and 0 assets to the company with the exception of the young director Everett, who actually seems to do the work. The other manager is just a joke.
Response: Hello Eli, I’m sorry to hear about your disappointment with us, and I would like to personally assist you with making things right. Let’s get on a call and address this ASAP, we value your business. Please contact us when convenient.
Gregory Cork
Gregory Cork: FITNESS AND FELLOWSHIP IN UPPER NORTHWEST DC If you work out, every once in a while you find that memorable gym – the place where not only your fitness soared, but so did your spirits when you walked in the door. Northwest Sport&Health (NWSH) is that kind of gym. It’s a given that any quality gym will have the equipment and amenities you need to get and stay in shape. NWSH certainly has all that: two floors, with cardio equipment, a bike spin room, and studios for all kinds of classes up top (and a full and varied weekly fitness schedule); and two thoroughly-equipped weight rooms downstairs – all the machines you’ll need plus plenty of free weights, including two Smith racks. But the essential, even ineffable factor always is the fitness staff. And on this count, NWSH is terrific. Led by General Manager Moses Robinson and Fitness Director Alex Switzky, these folks are professional, knowledgeable, attentive, supportive, engaging, courteous – and not only fun, but funny. (Make sure to ask Moses about The Smolder.) Most important to me personally was that NWSH served as a haven for me through most of the COVID-19 pandemic. Working out at NWSH (yes, with a mask), and hanging with the team and the people I got to know at the gym, came to be the anchor of my day. It was what I most looked forward to, each day, in a bizarre time – a time that otherwise would have lacked air and connection, and that would have meant isolation for this active person. I always will remember and be grateful to NWSH for that critical time and for their collective generosity of spirit.
Response: Hi Gregory, Thank you for the 5-stars! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Tala K
Tala K: Northwest Sport and Health is the perfect gym. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The facility is always clean and has everything you need. Great instructors and all types of fitness classes and training available. The kids’ club is our favorite. The caregivers are experienced and caring, you can enjoy your workout without a worry. Love this place and highly recommend. Thank you!
Response: Thanks Tala!
Donna Rosen
Donna Rosen: I have been a member of Northwest Sport and Health for 10+ years. I like this gym for exercise because it is laid back, but has excellent equipment and a diverse membership. I have worked with several Personal Trainers at this gym. All were good, but John Vallimarescu is one of the best Personal Trainers I have ever had. He is very careful to address the unique needs of each client. He pushes you but does not exert excessive pressure -- perfect balance. I would recommend him to anyone looking for an outstanding Personal Trainer at NW S&H.
Response: Thanks so much Donna! I will pass along your compliments to the team! Thanks for being a loyal member with us and let us know if we can anything to help you. See you soon!

Belin Sport & Fitness: what do users think?
Manuel Morillo
Manuel Morillo: I signed up for the six week challenge program with Corey in June with a goal of losing 25lbs. Now after 6 weeks of training and meal prepping, I am that much closer to my goal. I couldn’t make 25lbs due to having less time for outside training, but nonetheless I am extremely happy and pleased with the progress I made and, albeit slowly, continue to make. The program was reasonably priced, even on a student budget, and Corey made the entire process of getting situated easy. Workouts were very intensive and also very well coordinated. If adjustments needed to be made Corey would help every step of the way and do his best to adjust so you can focus on reaching your goal. The added benefit of having an accountability group also helps tremendously when things might seem to get tough. Highly recommend giving Corey a call or a visit, he does great work!
Response: It’s great to hear that you were happy with everything Manuel. Thank you so much for the awesome review!
Hanna Haile
Hanna Haile: Corey is the best trainer I ever had. This program was amazing for me, I have never felt more accomplished after a work out than when I worked out with Corey. The program is exactly what it says it was and I was able to lose what I wanted to lose and create healthy habits for myself. I would definitely recommend this to all of my friends.
Response: Thank you so much. Glad you’re happy with the results!
Robbie Allen
Robbie Allen: Corey Belin is the definition of a ninja warrior on and off the field. He genuinely cares about his clients, is extremely professional, and supportive. Moreover, he is a coach, motivator, and pushes you to your full potential. You will definitely see results when you train with Corey. He offers a lot of amazing services for all fitness levels. My personal favorite is his iSpinn class. Forget the bike and get ready to rock out with Corey. He takes you through a high impact workout that’s sure to burn those calories. Trust me when I say, Corey cuts calories (pounds)! Highly recommend!!
Response: Thanks for the recommendations Robbie! It really helps!
Les Frasier
Les Frasier: Corey hands down is such an amazing trainer! He pushes you to limits you don’t believe you can achieve. I have tried many trainers but Corey takes it to another level. That spin class is everything!! I can’t get enough and need to sign up for the variety of classes he offers . I have to say I look forward to working out and despite the fact it’s online now, I still feel like I get personalized attention to keep me motivated! Please join take his class you won’t regret it!
Response: We appreciate it Les!
Jennifer Cardno
Jennifer Cardno: Corey at Belin sport & fitness definitely knows what he is doing. The 6week challenge is an awesome program that actually delivers results! I absolutely love the workouts. They are always different and I feel so much stronger. The best part about this program though is the tailored meal plan which isn’t like anything I’ve done before. It’s not a diet at all but more a lifestyle change. I understand now the effects that certain food have on my body and am more conscious of the food choices I make. After doing the 6week challenge I feel like my best self and can’t wait to keep going!! If you are looking for a more healthy lifestyle and are willing to put in the work and have a great time doing it then yes this is the program for you!
Response: Thank you so much for the feedback!
patricia eisner
patricia eisner: Corey has been my trainer for over 15 years . And every single class is new and different and challenging. I took spin class without bikes this morning and was reminded how hard I need to work when I take one or corey’sClasses. He is motivating, fun and won’t let you down !!!
Response: Thanks for reviewing Patricia!
Anji Corley
Anji Corley: The. Best. Trainer. Ever! Corey and his energy and outgoing personality is one of the best I have ever experienced. I’ve known him for over 20 years and his classes never cease to be boring or make my body feel sore… And wonderful! He is creative, innovative and really wants the best for you you just give him a little time and he will transform your body. His East-good SPIN CLASS WITH NO BIKES it’s been one of my go to for the last 10 years. It is so inventive… It’ll blow your mind oh and 30 minutes you are sweating and you feel good and you can go on about your day.
Response: So happy to be able to help! Thanks for the review Anji!

FIT360 DC: what do users think?
Gaby Madrid
Gaby Madrid: FIT360DC is the BEST gym in DC!! 👏🏽👏🏽 They go above and beyond to make sure that everyone is staying safe and healthy during the pandemic. They also have a variety of workout options to fit your comfort level. I absolutely loved their in-person classes!! I recently moved and have joined their virtual classes. The virtual classes are just as challenging and engaging as the in-person classes. Brian, Edgar, and Amina hold it down for folks on the virtual side, and have kept me from turning into a couch potato 🙃💕
Ariyana Monee
Ariyana Monee: Great gym. Just wish there was more (and safer) parking , especially in evenings.
Rizwaan Akhtar
Rizwaan Akhtar: An amazingly effective and inclusive gym. Though I left this gym a year ago due to a move, I still credit my physical wellness today to Brian and FIT360. Because of their both challenging and welcoming environment, I not only grew stronger and healthier, but I feel like I have a solid foundational knowledge to build on. I credit this a lot to Brian’s unique and effective instruction. Especially now after joining a new gym after my move from DC, I’ve really come to appreciate how high-touch their support is. I wouldn’t be able to weightlift, do kettlebell exercises, or use other equipment safely and confidently in my new gym today if it wasn’t for FIT360. Their trainers actually take the time to carefully instruct, give feedback, and keep you safe. Also this gym totally raised the bar for me in terms of what to look for in my new city. A gym can both motivate you to show up and know you’ll be welcome, and it can challenge you to be a stronger, faster, and fitter version of yourself.
Golzar Meamar
Golzar Meamar: I was struggling to find a way to get back into strength training and moving my body intentionally during the pandemic. I am very lucky to live around the corner from this gem of a community gym! During the COVID-19 pandemic, Fit360 DC has been very communicative, flexible, and innovative when it comes to helping its members workout safely. The outdoor classes are challenging and efficient, and are completely masked and distanced, which has made them that much more valuable to me during the pandemic! The coaches are also informative and helpful, and challenge us consistently!

Balance Gym: Glover Park: what do users think?
Ashley M
Ashley M: I joined and was told the top floor would be closing in a week, but that ALL equipment and amenities would be retained (I was most interested in the sauna and Olympic weightlifting platforms). VERY disappointed in the false advertising. There is no longer a sauna, the locker room is TINY (the old one was super nice, the one available now is not), they got rid of the 2 Olympic weightlifting platforms, and when you email the manager to ask questions he ignores you. Really annoyed that I pay $100 a month and was told the gym has what I was looking for. When I talked to the front desk person (because the manager ignores emails), she said, “well you could go to one of our other locations if you want a sauna.” I tried to set up personal training, which you’re supposed to get 1 free session when you join, and I never could get a response from the person I was supposed to be hearing from. The person who works the front desk in the morning is often not there, so you have to wait around to get your parking validated. The pros: I really like the downstairs weightlifting room. It has a bunch of racks and free weights, and is technically a CrossFit gym even though there aren’t any official CrossFit classes offered. Some of the racks are really close together if you’re oly lifting, but we make it work. I also like that there is free parking at this location, unlike many others. Bring back the sauna and yoga classes and I’ll give a much higher rating. I can live without the oly platforms.
C E
C E: The Go for It spirit at Balance Gym is beyond impeccable. All of us want to help out in the contribution to our wonderful community held together by the strength of our Federal Government. Imagine sitting in front of a computer screen, organizing files and papers, having important meetings day and night about policies that affect the 50 States if not the World. Yes, I would go again to Balance Gym!
Grace Phillips
Grace Phillips: Amazing facility! Very clean! Staff is very accommodating. I was only visiting for the holidays and they have a one week and a two week option! Equipment is suitable for heavy lifters and those who desire a simpler workout. They offer tons of classes at great times. I think I found my gym away from home!
Stephanie C. Giancola
Stephanie C. Giancola: An amazing gym with a phenomenal staff! Jacob, the GM was extremely patient and tending to my million questions about what the gym has to offer. Boy, was I surprised! They have a variety of good equipment available, different sections to do turf workouts, weight lifting, cardio, yoga, etc. the building used to be a spa, so the locker rooms are dreamy, and they offer specials on esthetic/massage work upstairs. I was able to take a boot camp class before signing up for a membership. The class was challenging, but within reason. The coach was enthusiastic, and everybody was having a good time. There is a Crossfit section as well! And they even offer classes like solid core, with the Pilates machine! This gym has everything you need, even parking in the back! Ask for Jacob and he’ll set you up. Also—lots of cool freebies like a free personal training session and three free Pilates reformer classes to start you off!
Response: Hi Stephanie - Thank you so much for such a detailed and positive review! Our entire team is dedicated to providing the highest quality fitness offering at a reasonable cost - very glad to hear you are among our satisfied customers! Look forward to seeing you soon at the gym! -Jacob
Aaron E.
Aaron E.: Beware of their misleading billing policies! I was a member here for a year. I emailed them in early January 2019 to cancel my membership and received a response saying (in all bold font) that since I had pre-paid my final payment, I would “have no further payments due,” and my membership would run out on March 8. Much to my surprise then, Balance charged me $29 on February 15. I emailed them and asked that this charge be removed since I was previously told that I had no further payments. The billing person (Alex) quite rudely responded to me stating that this $29 is an “enhancement fee” charged to all members on 2/15. When I insisted that this charge be reversed because I was misled by their original email, I was simply told no and that this is part of the membership agreement. A proper business would have apologized for misleading me and offered a refund for the $29. Balance, however, clearly only cares about getting as much money out of you as they can.
Response: As a courtesy, Aaron was issued a refund and we have since resolved this issue with better communication about our membership policies.

Ultimate Performance Personal Trainers DC: what do users think?
Dian Stevens
Dian Stevens: I started working at the DC location of Ultimate Performance in November 2021. I was in drastic need of a reset. I gained weight during the pandemic, thanks to many poor choices on my part, and I knew that I needed to take some action. Ultimate Performance exceeded my expectations. I worked with the amazing Owen Browne. Owen is a dedicated fitness professional. Owen is patient, calm, and invested in helping each of his clients achieve their fitness goals. I felt safe with Owen and enjoyed how he consistently challenged me. Please do, however, watch out for Owen with his rep counts. He always seemed to add a few extra reps just when I thought I was done. Ultimate Performance has a unique atmosphere. The gym is immaculate and everyone knows your name. All of the trainers take the time to motivate every client in the gym. Another bonus is watching the trainers work on their own fitness. The trainers all look amazing, of course, but there is no resting on laurels at Ultimate Performance. The trainers challenge each other just as they challenge the clients. It is a great motivator. I am grateful to Owen for helping me shed 28 pounds. In addition, my cardio endurance has improved, my clothes fit again, and I feel great both physically and mentally. So, if you are tired of watching the numbers on the scale climb ever higher, tired of the mental fog, tired of making excuses, and positively fed up with purchasing compression garments to fit in your clothes, then you should definitely consider Ultimate Performance. Working with Ultimate Performance has been one of my best decisions. I recommend Ultimate Performance without hesitation.
Response: Hey Dian, thank you so much for sharing your positive experience on our personal training at our D.C gym. We're so thrilled that your training helped you so much. We're proud of our team who provide valuable efforts to amazing clients like you. All the best with further training. We're rooting for you!
Henry Defriez
Henry Defriez: Fully recommended to anyone seeking to achieve big weight loss or other fitness goals. I have been working with UP for just over two months, and am halfway to my weight loss goal (30 pounds so far). My trainer, Evelyn, has been a fantastic guide and motivator in our sessions, but also outside the gym in monitoring my nutrition plan and helping me stay on track while travelling (picking restaurant menus, preparing hotel gym sessions etc.) While the focus is naturally on hard work, the atmosphere in the gym is friendly, supportive and relaxed. It’s not cheap, but it’s definitely worth it for the physical and mental health benefits, especially if like me you have been struggling to make those gains by yourself.
Response: Hey Henry, thank you so much for sharing your positive experience on our personal training at our Washington D.C. gym. We're so thrilled that your training helped you so much. We're proud of our team who provide valuable efforts to amazing clients like you. All the best with further training. We're rooting for you!
Alexander Ragonese
Alexander Ragonese: I’ve been working out with Robert at UP for a little over 6 weeks now. While I’m excited I’ve lost over 13 lbs, I am more excited how dramatically the UP program has improved my quality of life. I have more energy, think more clearly and am happier overall. I initially signed up thinking I would give this a try for a month and likely quit but I now struggle to imagine my life without the UP program. While it is expensive, you absolutely get what you pay for. The program is personalized and Robert is constantly available for my questions to ensure I stay on track in and out of the gym. I can’t wait to see what they next 6 weeks bring.
Response: Hey Alexander, for you to say "I’m excited I’ve lost over 13 lbs, I am more excited how dramatically the UP program has improved my quality of life." makes our day! Thank you so much for your kind words. We are so proud and honoured that you achieved that with the personal training at our D.C. gym. We wish you all the best with further training. We're rooting for you!
Brian Weiss
Brian Weiss: DO IT! It’s not just that Ultimate Performance and the program gets results (it does... I’m down 50+ pounds!), but it’s also a complete mind and body change that sets you up for long-term success. It really is training in the broadest sense, because yes, it includes strength and lifting, but it also teaches good habits on nutrition, hydration, sleep and overall wellness. The program emphasizes the interconnectedness of these elements with a cool app and a trainer who is always there for you (whether you’re in the gym or not). As for the gym in DC… a totally supportive community where the team knows your name, and everyone roots for one another. Special shout out to Gavin – a first-rate trainer who built a custom program for me (that drew on his deep knowledge about the science of fitness) and pushed me through every obstacle to get the results he said were possible on the day we met. He was right. Like I said, DO IT!
Response: Hey Brian, thank you so much for your kind review. We appreciate you for putting in hard-work and getting results. We're so proud of our team at our Washington D.C. gym to provide such dedicated personal training. We wish you all the best for further personal training at our Washington D.C. gym.
Alvin Saha
Alvin Saha: I HIGHLY recommend Ultimate Performance DC! My trainer, Malik Carter, has kept me motivated and stays on top of my nutrition every day. Without him, I would have not been able to achieve the progress that I’ve made so far. In 3 months, I have lost 15 pounds and have significantly reduced my body fat%. I went back and forth with myself for weeks before I joined UP, and I am very glad that I finally decided to make the leap. In fact, I’m so satisfied that I just signed up for another 3 month package so that I can continue my progress towards my body goals.
Response: Hey Alvin, thank you for your kind review. We are so glad we could motivate you. The well-being of our clients hold maximum importance to us. Thanks for trusting us and all the best with further personal training at our Washington D.C. gym.
Lee Ann C.
Lee Ann C.: No matter what age you are (I’m 64!) or what shape you’re in, you will feel welcome at UP, and you will have the best gym experience of your life. My personal trainer, Jonathan Cardenas, is world class. He’s laser-focused on my workout, making sure that I’m doing each exercise in the safest, most effective way possible. He creates meal plans tailored to my nutritional needs, and he provides guidance on what to order when I’m eating out. Best of all, Jonathan is tuned in to what motivates me. At UP, you will not get a “cookie-cutter” gym experience. This is a gym that is focused on you, the individual. The results you get will astound you.
Response: Hey Lee, thank you for your kind review. We are so glad we could motivate you. The well-being of our clients hold maximum importance to us. Thanks for trusting us and all the best with further personal training at our Washington D.C. gym.

Balance Gym Foggy Bottom: what do users think?
Nathan Wirt
Nathan Wirt: I used to like this gym, but as of late we now have two defunct pieces of equipment that have been that way for 2 months. To me that would bring them down to two stars, but after not getting a response via email to the manager of the gym I have downgraded to one star. Additionally, along with the regular monthly membership fee there is a biannual “upgrade” charge that is intended to be used by polling the membership, determining what additional equipment membership would like to add, and then using said funds to buy that equipment. I haven’t been polled for this upgraded equipment in 2 years nor have have I seen this equipment. Starting to see echoes of WSC.
Response: Nathan- Thank you for the honest feedback and we're sorry things at slipped these past two. It's been a less than ideal situation given the pandemic which has compounded our ability to enhance, upgrade and staff our locations. The good news is we're set to renovate our locker room and replace some select equipment over the next month as business has been finally picking back up. We hope you stick around to see these upgrades and my apologies if management has been slow to respond as our manager is currently away on paternity leave.
Isaac Flath
Isaac Flath: Solid Gym - Exceptional Staff. Ms Dee is at the gym working the desk among other things in the early morning when I go and she is very professional, enthusiastic, friendly and helps me with anything I need immediately.
Briana Provost
Briana Provost: Really enjoy coming to this gym. Everything is always very clean, and the staff are friendly. It can be a little tricky to find it since it’s entrance is through the Fairmont, but would definitely recommend to anyone who is looking for a gym in the DC area.
Response: Thanks for training with us Briana!
Emily Porat
Emily Porat: Great gym with even better staff! I went to this gym weekly for a little over two years and have been really happy with my experience overall. It’s a small but well-appointed gym. Lots of cardio machines, a pool, and plenty of lifting equipment - 1 bench press station, 3 squat racks, and 2 platforms (one that also has a squat rack). I mostly came here to lift in the mornings and it was never too crowded. I didn’t attend many group classes, but the ones I did were small (<6 people) and well-run! The cherry on top is the top-notch staff. Miss D at the front desk is so friendly and welcoming, as are all the trainers I’ve chatted with. I’m only leaving Balance because I’m moving, and I’ll honestly really miss it!
Response: Hi Emily! Thank you for your kind words and your loyalty over the past two years. We're sad to see you go, but wish you the best of luck in your future endeavors. And don't hesitate to drop by for a lift next time you're in DC!
Sarah Harmer
Sarah Harmer: Every single staff member is so kind, friendly and helpful! The gym is always very clean and well maintained. I have never left a review before, but this place and the people deserve it :)
Hope Ajayi
Hope Ajayi: Critical: Communication, ProfessionalismPoor and petty customer service. Pool not the cleanest. How one communicates to customers or potential customers is telling. Would never ever recommend membership —

Response: Thanks for the 5 stars, Joann!
Crissi Luv
Crissi Luv: I love this gym. Spa like and tranquil. The classes are a1. Times are great. Classes all day.

M Ben A
M Ben A: Walked in there to ask for membership and tour told only with an “advisor” not very welcoming that’s what I felt 😠the guy on the front desk did not even offer an appointment !!!
Response: Hi Ben, we're sorry to hear you've had this experience. We hope that you'll give us another shot to show you the service we are capable of providing. If you would like to reach out and share additional feedback, please connect with us at Concierge@equinox.com. Please be sure to mention your review so we can address quickly.
Brandon Morris
Brandon Morris: Critical: Communication, ProfessionalismSet up a membership without my consent. When I tried to email them to make sure it was cancelled they tried to sell me another membership. Very poor business practices. As a former member, I could have been an easy sell, but will never rejoin after this experience.
Ryan D
Ryan D: When it comes to a gym, you get what you pay for, and, although this is a bit pricey and restrictive, that added benefits make me want to go to the gym. Excellent free weight section and class offerings. My only suggestion--extend closing hour from 8:00 pm to 10:00 p.m.
Evan Long
Evan Long: Everything you’d expect from the brand, and very seldom crowded except at absolute peak times. They’ve taken enhanced sanitation seriously given COVID, and I particularly appreciate that they kept their word and allowed me to break my one-year contract a couple months early when I moved away.
Trade Stock
Trade Stock: Critical: Communication, Professionalism, Quality2 experiences with this gym, 2 different employees. Both atrocious, -100/1. The have the same attitude your kids have when they start growing up. Beware...
Wallace Bachman
Wallace Bachman: So glad Equinox has found its way into DC proper! This location is spacious by New York Equinox standards, both on the floor, which is a single floor with ample natural light, and the men’s locker room. It’s very clean, the staff are friendly and beautiful, and everything is in great repair. I’ve never been to an Equinox where the stretching area was so well-equipped (bands etc etc) and well organized. The Juice Press was small and didn’t have much, but that seems to be the way of Equinox juice bars over the last several years. 😢

Crunch Fitness - Chevy Chase: what do users think?
Jade Rodrigues
Jade Rodrigues: I’m really happy to have joined this gym. I got some sessions and my trainer Dawn was super helpful and is the sweetest person! I had never had a trainer before and she exceeded all of my expectations. When I joined the gym I wasn’t sure how to start and felt intimidated with all the equipments options. Dawn showed me a variety of exercises and created a workout plan that was tailored to me, to my needs and what I need to improve. Seeing her definitely made me feel motivated and confident to keep going regularly to the gym. Dawn is super nice, caring, and dedicated, and I would see her every day if I could!
Katerina Athena
Katerina Athena: I’m a new member of crunch and I already love it! Everyone has been super friendly so far. I’m doing personal training with Sean. He is very attentive and personalizes my workouts. I have previous injuries to my spine and he really checks in and makes sure I’m not doing anything to further my injuries and incorporates workouts that will help strengthen areas that will lessen my chronic pain. I haven’t used the showers yet but it’s super nice that they provide towel service so you don’t have to carry a soggy towel out with you. There’s a parking lot in the back and you can get validated for 100 free minutes. I got a great deal on a few personal training sessions but I will continue to go even after those are finished!
Brian Jessup
Brian Jessup: Can’t say enough good things about this gym. Housekeeping is always keeping busy making sure the gym is spotless. Management always tries to answer questions and resolve concerns as quick as possible. Front desk staff always welcomes you with a smile and most even by name. Trainers are very knowledgeable and attentive.
Mikhail Nowlin
Mikhail Nowlin: This is by far the best gym I have worked out at since moving too Maryland. Very clean, very friendly non judge mental environment. The staff are great! And for a low monthly price compared too other gyms. Check it out!!!!
Camilo Conde
Camilo Conde: The vibe of crunch is excellent. My trainer, Sean, and other staff are extremely helpful and positive. The variety of equipment is diverse and gives gym goers the ability to train with a highly varied program structure if desired. Also a short walk from the Friendship Heights metro station.
Marie Moylan
Marie Moylan: Excellent facility. Always active but never crowded. Great range of machinery and space for exercising. The cleaning staff are of the highest quality and are always working to clean and sanitize the facilities. Covid rules were followed religiously and I have always felt ‘Covid-safe’ working out there. We’ll organized, professional and friendly.
Colton Long
Colton Long: I’ve been coming to this Crunch location since fall 2018, and it’s been one of the best gyms I’ve frequented in the DMV. They’ve handled the pandemic and its ups and downs like rock stars. The only main caveat I’ll add here is that they desperately need squat racks that don’t have fixed safeties. Deadlift platforms are also a huge need, but squat racks with adjustable safeties are #1 on the list in my view.

Reformation Fitness – Cap Hill: what do users think?
Gladwin Gilman
Gladwin Gilman: Had my first class ever in my life and to say I enjoyed myself is an understatement. I’m on the curvier plus size and felt included and welcome in the class. It was small and vaccination records were required. Our instructor Natalie Rico made us feel even more welcomed and she was so patient and we are 10000 percent coming back. If you’re not a typical fit lady with abs and previous Pilates experience try a class and ask for Natalie.
