The Tiny Wedding Shop: what do users think?

Allie Thornton: Lauren & the TWS (we worked with Kristen D.) are absolutely phenomenal. We had a bigger-tiny wedding at 50 people and they gave us all the tools to have a successful wedding day. Their vendor relationships were hugely important and they outperformed our expectations. They listened to our priorities and were nimble and able to think creatively about how to accomplish our goals. I never felt that our wedding was less important just because we were a smaller wedding. I cannot recommend them enough.

Kristina Clarin: Lauren & the Tiny Wedding Shop is THE company to work with if you’re considering having a smaller affair for your wedding. Her team was so attentive, so kind, and just overall had it together. I didn’t have to follow up on anything on the day of because they just automatically took care of it. Huge shout out to Kristen (day of coordinator) and Porter (our photographer). They were the absolute sweetest. Kristen was so incredibly organized and Porter was so creative with the shots and backdrops. My husband and I were really stressed about planning a wedding and TWS really helped create the perfect intimate wedding day. The day went exactly as we had hoped and it’s all because Lauren & her team are amazing. I cannot recommend the Tiny Wedding Shop enough. Thank you so much for being part of our day!!

Caitlin Doyle: The Tiny Wedding Shop is an amazing all service wedding planning group! We could not be more thankful for their partnership in crafting our dream day! Their team is professional, courteous, and made us feel so special and loved. If you are looking for a small scale wedding that doesn’t skimp on big impact, you are in the right place! Thank you to the entire TWS team!!

Brian: Positive: Professionalism, Quality, Responsiveness, ValueThe Tiny Wedding Shop made our wedding an amazing experience. Lauren and her team took all the stress out of the planning and execution, and ensured we had a great ceremony! The day-of went off without a hitch, and the photos turned out better than we could have hoped for!

Arielle Baquol: Lauren and her team were incredible! Every detail of our wedding day was thoughtfully and professionally done. One of the best things was feeling like I could still have the full wedding experience, even with a small wedding, without the high price. The pressure was taken off me to be the point person for flowers, cake, and photography so all I needed to focus on was getting married. If you are looking to have a small wedding but still have the full wedding experience, I highly recommend the Tiny Wedding Shop!

Ashley Ruskey: Lauren is AMAZING! Her whole staff is. She was responsive and kind. Super professional. She made my wedding dreams come true. She coordinated with all of our vendors and planned everything. Her entire team is insanely talented. From the florist, baker, officiant, assistant, makeup artist and hair stylist, I didn’t worry or stress one bit. 10/10 highly recommend. I will continue to rave about this experience and Lauren’s team. Love you all!!

Fathom Gallery 14th Street: what do users think?

Tiffiney Carney: Highly recommend this venue! My wife and I got married at Fathom last weekend. The venue is perfect for small to medium size weddings. We had a total of 38 guests, and held the ceremony and dinner outside (3 long tables in the areas between the skylights). It was beautiful. The Fathom team is also great. They are quick to respond to emails, and they’re all very positive. The week before the wedding, it looked like it was going to rain, so we used their two white tents outside. They looked great and didn’t detract from the experience at all. (And it didn’t rain).

Jack Sykstus: Got married here. Fantastic place from the coordinators to the space. Couldn’t recommend it more. Great space for small to medium sized weddings. Just a lovely space. They have a nice indoor and outdoor area as well to mix and match scenery as well.

Pretty Pine: We used Fathom Gallery as a wedding venue. The place was great. It was spacious and allowed for social distancing both inside and in the garden. They provided staff to help us with decor set up and a bartender (for free). They were very responsive and helpful through the planning process. We recommend the Gallery for any event.

Janelle J. Jordan: Very cute venue. Parking is a major issue though, but f you live in the city and can walk there, no problem.

Diego Chojkier: Gorgeous space hiding on 14th street. Great for holding any kind of event (spoiled by Google). The indoor area is spacious, complete with bathroom and kitchen, but the winner is definitely the huge outdoor patio. Quiet, sunny and perfect.

Elle Sojourner: Elegant venue. Excellent management. I enjoyed a lovely, intimate wedding here.

The Capitol View at 400: what do users think?

Remembered Events: We just had a fabulous wedding at this venue. The view is beautiful. They have a parking garage underneath the building and you do have to go through the lobby of the new stations to get to the reception spot but well worth it. We had around 100 people which fit the space perfectly. Delmy the venue coordinator is so wonderful to work with. The space offers multiple options for your cocktail hour set up. The restrooms are far from the space just something to be aware of. I would suggest making signs it is downstairs or have a designated person showing guests where to go (this was something our planning team did).

Colby Shomaker: This place has great views of union station and the capital. Not the best location and set up to host an event but overall it’s ok.

ALANA VAUGHN: What an amazing venue to have any event. It felt like you were on the deck of a cruise ship with the beautiful black drop of the Capitol in the background. It was open air... it was beautiful but when it started to drizzle there was a beautiful canopy that still allowed you to enjoy the beautiful view.

Travis Hyams: We had our wedding of about 100 guests at Capitol View. Our experience was amazing, and we would recommend the venue to anybody that is planning their next event. The view speaks for itself. So, if you are on the fence, just go see the place. Delmy the venue coordinator is a true champion. She is experienced, organized, well-connected, and when the anxiety of planning an event becomes too stressful, she draws on all of these to keep you calm and make sure things go as planned. The day of went off without a hitch and our guests continue to rave about our event! Delmy handled all the décor and the venue looked truly stunning. We hope others get to experience how truly magical Capitol View is!

Michael Gerardi: Great venue for people who are political advocates and/or patriots

Josephine Butler Parks Center: what do users think?

Liza Greenberg: We checked out multiple venues in DC, but none captured the vision we had for our October 19, 2019 wedding like the Josephine Butler Parks Center. The space is beautiful enough to not need too much decoration but simple enough to be a blank canvas if you wanted to go big. We had 120 guests and it felt both spacious and intimate. Malina was very informative and helpful and has done the wedding rodeo enough times to have answers to every question we threw at her. And we felt especially great about using the Center because we knew we were supporting the Washington Parks!

Joseph Ortega: A classy and elegant old venue in the heart of the city. Spacious and full of rich historical ties to the city.

Aaron Hedquist: I’ve photographed several weddings at the PARKS CENTER. Every time, the venue is well organized, plenty of room for vendors, and the guest seem to really enjoy the multi-level space. You also won’t be able to beat the access to one of the largest (and best) parks in DC. PLUS, the building is run by a local non-profit so a portion of the proceeds go back to doing great work here in DC. If your thinking about having a wedding, corporate, or family event, definitely check-out the JOSEPHINE BUTLER PARKS CENTER.

Jeffrey Harris: Fun event space. Been there for wedding and fundraising/social event. Lovely.

Audrey Link: Attended a couple of wedding parties here. Fairly well maintained historic home. Nice staircase in the foyer which is a good spot for photos. There is a balcony (might hold 30)which is a nice place for cocktails in nice weather. There was more than enough room in the dining area for the 150 or so in attendance at the last party. There are 2 kitchens, an upstairs which is a decent size and a much smaller one on the lower level. This provides a lot of room for prep and the fridges help with the cooling of your beverages so not everything has to be chilled on ice. Parking is a little difficult because of the location, but the same can be said for all places in that vicinity. Overall a very quaint location for your event.

Andrew Breza: A charming and historic event spacelocated next to Meridian Hill Park

M U K T I . D E S A I: I had my wedding here in September of 2014 and it was absolutely perfect! The space is gorgeous and we knew the venue was for us the moment we saw it. We had just under 150 people and the space was perfect. Dinner was a little cramped, but other than that the space was perfect. We were lucky and had amazing weather so we are also able to make great use of the terrace. This is the perfect place for someone wanting a DC wedding at a reasonable price. The photo opps are also amazing and if you are lucky and get good weather, the park is so close and makes for great photos as well.

Erin R: Went here for a gala. A historic venue that is perfect for a small to medium sized corporate or personal event! Two stories we’d open for us to gather in. The staircase is beautiful!

Larz Anderson House: what do users think?

Kaitlyn Cole: Walking into the Anderson House will take your breath away. This building exudes an unparalleled feeling of opulence and historic charm. Surrounded by the grand chandeliers, marble staircase, monumental ornate frames and reflecting pool, you will feel like royalty everywhere you turn. Every corner of this exquisite wedding venue makes for a perfect photo background.

rachel robertello: Super interesting museum that works as an AMAZING wedding venue. The team is very responsive and works smoothly with all vendors to make the day run perfectly. We are so glad we found the Anderson House as an option for our wedding and that they were available.

Trevor Joyce: The Anderson House museum is one of my favorite museums in D.C. It is quiet yet packed with so many beautiful architectural details. It consists mostly of several large rooms but the entire left wing of the building is for private use and is thus not open to public visitors. The guided tours are time efficient and professional but I find it best to visit when they host events and musical performances.

Olga Crawford: The tour of the house is superb. The house looks like the Breakers.

Daniel Sweeney: Beautiful Washington DC Historic site. Very unique and pretty rooms. Outdoor space is great for events. Wedding here was great, and they hosted well.

Kelly Mattesen: Very impressive mansion! Our tour guide Stacia was amazing, funny and very knowledgeable. When this museum opens you should not miss it on your next trip! It is a hidden gem...and it is free!

Elise F.: Very nice historic site and interiors. Small parking lot a plus for visitors. But many steps up to the site.

Skye Brockman: Stunning Georgetown venue. I am a photographer who found their staff to be great and the entire place to be picture perfect.

Bob Lavelle: Great architecture of the Federalist period. Also historical cemeteries nearby, worth exploring as well.

Martin Reyes: Very elegant great 4 wedding anniversary special events we highly recommend this for your next celebration

Amos Cheeseboro: To be honest, I was working there as a banquet server for a wedding reception. But the house was amazingly beautiful! I recommend people to visit.

Mark Vallaster: View is fantastic. Food is good but slow

C F: This venue is absolutely stunning. It’s been several months after our wedding and we consistently still have guests telling us how beautiful our ceremony venue was. It has a breathtaking view of the Capitol and is extremely well maintained. We fit our 160 wedding guests under the provided tents for our ceremony with room to spare. Suzanne and the entire staff were a delight to work with and they really saved the day by accommodating us by scheduling a tour and our event very quickly after having our original venue cancel only 5-weeks before the big day.

Kimberly Kruse: Gorgeous views

Bellwether Events: what do users think?

Hannah Kotler: Janice was absolutely incredible to work with for our wedding. My husband and I were crushed when we had to move our wedding back due to COVID, but Janice made the process SO smooth- she coordinated with all of our vendors and had new contracts in our inbox without us having to worry. We had the pleasure of working with Janice and her team for over two years due to our postponement. Janice is organized, practical, down to earth, and knew exactly how to make our wedding vision happen. We would recommend her without hesitation to anyone planning a wedding- and highly suggest a full planning package, she is absolutely worth it.

Yasmin Howell: We started working with Janice in 2019 to help with planning our wedding that was due to happen 4 months from initially speaking with her. Despite the short timeline, Janice helped us figure out our vision for the day and bring it to life; by March 2020, everything was planned and ready to go. When Covid hit and restrictions were put in place, Janice single-handedly managed the rescheduling of our wedding 3 separate times over 2 years. We would have been lost and incredibly stressed without her ongoing support. When it finally came, our wedding day ran flawlessly thanks to Janice’s expertise and organization. We would definitely recommend Janice if you want an expert wedding planner who has great connections with amazing vendors.

Dylan Isenberg: Janice helped us plan our covid-delayed wedding not one time, not two times, not three times but four separate times over the span of nearly 1000 days. Without her, we would have been lost, overwhelmed and alone. During an unprecedented time for the wedding industry, she competently answered every single one of our questions and never once led us astray. She quickly got a sense of our styles and flawlessly guided us through many difficult decisions. On the big day, she was in complete control of all the scheduled events, managing everything from ensuring our doggo had the right flowers on her collar, to organizing the numerous vendors, to adorning our cake that required a final touch up! We had the day of our dreams and have Janice to thank for making it happen. We cannot recommend her enough. She is organized, knowledgeable and most importantly a lot of fun to work with!

Jonathan Sutton: My wife and I absolutely loved working with Janice and her team at Bellwether Events. We hired Bellwether Events to be our event coordinator and our only wedding regret is not hiring them to do our full wedding planning. Janice’s attention to detail saved the day on multiple occasions. Her extensive knowledge of the DC wedding industry was so helpful for us during the entire process. Her team made it so we could fully relax and enjoy our wedding day. The day was perfect and it is in huge part to Janice and her team.

Conor Noonan: We brought on Janice to be our planner about 8 months ahead of our wedding (after trying to go it alone). She was incredibly helpful with getting us back on schedule and helping us find additional vendors. She gave us honest advice and knew what kinds of personalities would work well with us. I give her extra credit for finding a wonderful bag piper for our ceremony. The Bellwether team on the day-of was also incredible - they were attentive, prompt, and kept the show running on time!

Ryan Gallagher: Janice is an amazing wedding planner and we were very lucky to have had her as our month of planner. We would have definitely benefitted from using her through the whole process, and if we were to do this again we would hire her for the entire wedding planning and preparation period. Since we were planning the wedding from overseas, Janice really enabled us to have the wedding we always dreamed of with as little stress as possible. She was on top of every detail leading up to the wedding and also provided thoughtful advice throughout the process, she even procured our wedding license for us since we couldn’t be there ahead of time to apply ourselves. She also expertly coordinated and communicated with all of our different vendors. She was a calming influence both leading up to the wedding and during the big day since we knew she would be able to handle any curve balls. Janice allowed my wife and I to completely focus on and enjoy our big day without distraction! I would absolutely recommend her to any friends and family as well as anyone in the DMV area.

Narda Nardis: Amazing venue! Great location

Frank Mikolajczak: Nice venue. There is not much draw here other than the open canvas and your vision. The scenery is not beautiful or amazing but it allows for a nice city comfort feeling that is hip and trendy. You can really decorate or create whatever environment you want inside the space that offers plenty of room. There is a good Instagram wall around the building for pictures also.

Dru Crawley: Fun event venue, indoor, covered outdoor space. Great for parties

Amelia and Kelsey: The staff at Dock 5 is incredibly accommodating and helpful when planning the perfect event in their space. We always appreciate their flexibility and the versatility of the space. It will always be one of our favorite event venues in DC.

The LINE DC: what do users think?

Corry: We stayed at The Line for three nights and I wish we could have stayed longer! Prior to our arrival the front desk staff were friendly and helpful on the phone with fantastic dinner suggestions and tips for getting around via public transit. We arrived early and were expecting to leave our bags at the front desk but the employee was very accommodating and checked us in. The room was lovely. Incredibly clean bathroom and bedroom, a beautiful view, comfortable bed, and very quiet. We enjoyed downtime either at the rooftop mini bar at night watching planes fly in to Reagan air port or during the day on the patio out front of the hotel. Truly a beautiful hotel and spectacular staff. 10/10 would recommend!!

Mollie Young: Everything about our experience was incredible. The staff is warm and hospitable, the room was spacious and tasteful (with great city views), and the amenities cannot be beat! We were so excited to use the gym and couldn’t get over equipment options — there’s something for everyone! The hotel restaurant, No Goodbyes, is also a must. The service is excellent and the food is fantastic. Definitely have a cocktail at the bar before or after dinner and check out the coffee shop the next morning. Everything about our stay was wonderful, and we are already planning our return visit!

Anna Ponamarchuk: Hotel is amazingly beautiful! It looks like Spanish parlament house from outside and it looks like a design studio from incite! So beautiful! Sweet Rachel was there the the mornings both days I was staying. She rescued my life with all the printing for my embassy apartment. She was kind, bubbly, and so helpful! I have a hotel my self and would definitely love to work with her! Kenny helped me on the phone after I checked out. These guys are great! They complete my wonderful stay in The Line DC Definitely recommend and will come back!

District Winery: what do users think?

Josh Griff: Had the dessert wine and grilled cheese. The grilled cheese had tomato jam which was sweet and tasty. The dessert wine was crisp and not too overly sweet. We sat at the bar and were served fairly quick and was a nice snack before the Nationals game. There was a wedding and a bridal shower going on at the same time while we were there too.

Kimberly Humphries: Excellent customer service thank you Terry and Lauren. Let me start off by saying this place is clean, classy, and has an amazing Ambience. I am a person who appreciates a good wine. Lauren was our host for the tour she explained in detail about the different wines so that you will get a clear understanding of how to pick your wine choices. This place is inexpensive and everyone is welcome. Everyone was dressed very tasteful and professional. They offer different packages that are all great. I’m so glad I got to experience a wine tasting in the city which gave me so much knowledge and education. Pay to park is available right next to the winery. They are close to the water front, you can walk and enjoy after the tasting and get a beautiful view of the city. There are so many nice shops and restaurants near by. For people who can not go to a winery far away. This place is truly a jewel.

Daniel Thomas: First off, District Winery is a showcase of modern 2010s design - steel/glass plate windows from floor to ceiling/clean design/quirky modern art on the walls. I mean this as a compliment - it is light and airy as a result with a self assured air. The service was fantastic - from the front staff to our waiter Xavier. We ordered the flights and bites: the fried Brussels sprouts, the curried cauliflower, and the grilled cheese. As you can see, the food is very well presented. It is essentially basics elevated by presentation. A buttered grilled cheese with tomato, cheese, basil (essentially a pizza in sandwich form), the Brussels sprouts were well done and tasty, although I could have appreciated some more kick/tang - little dry. The cauliflower was also a little dry and not particularly “curried” although the cornbread with chutney was a nice counterpoint. It just was a little bland. As for the wines, I found them to be fairly one-note - these are on the dry and light side. This is more a personal preference - I prefer less dry, full bodied wines. Having said that, this would be a great place to go for a happy hour - the location in the Navy Yard overlooking the water is gorgeous. This is a place I would return to to socialize, but I think the food doesn’t quite compete with the area’s other options.

Noa Vermaak: Our waitress Alexandra (Alex) today was amazing! She was super kind/funny and attentive. we ordered 2 Rosé, but after we ordered it we figured a bottle would be better. She left one full glas for me to taste and just brought the bottle. No extra charges! Those are the little things a guest will remember. The food here is also amazing and so was our wine. Can’t wait to go back and enjoy a sunny afternoon at District Winery

Parker Kelley: Great food & atmosphere! We made a reservation on a Friday at 7:00. We arrived and were immediately seated. Our amazing server Morgan took great care of us & recommend great drinks. For starters we got the chicken bites (must try) and the brussel sprouts ! The surrounding area was very busy & finding parking was a challenge.

Marie Pierce: I would totally recommend the date night for two. The entire staff was so nice. We had so much fun with our wine guide Laura and lucked out that it was only us in the tasting room. Laura was knowledgeable and friendly. She answered all of our questions and more.

Arts Club of Washington: what do users think?

Perks Advisor: This Club is sandwiched between the White House and George Washington University. It is a private club but open to the public during certain hours. The historic building is worth the visit and you can visit certain rooms that have art hanging on the walls. You can also use the facilities for events. If you enjoy art and a quiet atmosphere this is a very nice venue.

Bob Craycraft: Great membership organization and four art galleries open to the public at no charge.

BRASH BRASH: This was an unexpected treat for me. I received an email about a dinner theatre production about the pending election and decided to go. The location is quite historic and beautifully furnished. There are documents signed by early presidents on the walls. The courtyard in back was charming and features a relief of a bygone scene. Though it is a private club for artists and collectors, the location has regular openings and lectures revolving around the arts. The event I went to was affordable: $40 for a buffet dinner, a 90 minute musical, and a dessert spread afterwards. The members were all very friendly and informative, lively and welcoming.

Paul A: Nice historical place with a conference room for meetings.

Margaret Jones: You have to check website on when can see art or events open to non-members. Can also sign up on email list.

Marie-B CDA: This "temporary" White House is a very elegant home where exhibits, concerts, lectures, poetry readings, ballets are hosted and fine lunches and dinners are served. Every room is elegantly decorated and in the spirit of Monroe. The garden is a nice additio.. The Club offers membership to Artists and drawing/painting classes are taught. A very pleasant place to visit or become a member.

Dr. Laura Reid: It is a beautiful facility with a beautiful grand piano on the second floor. And houses a lovely space for meetings

Michelle Peete: Small art museum nestled close to GW University. A great venue for intimate events. Large patio area for outdoor activities. The food was adequate. Great service.

Jeffrey Kipers: Great place for event such as a wedding reception

The St. Regis Washington, D.C.: what do users think?

Lisa: You will hear the food and beverage director before you see him. During our trip, he raised his voice multiple times quite angrily - it was quite concerning to hear him speak to guest service staff in such a way and that he was comfortable enough to do it in front of guests, too. Otherwise, my husband and I had an absolutely lovely stay. Our room was amazing and there were lots of friendly faces. I also especially enjoyed the pillows, and I wish I had thought to ask what type they were as they were super comfy.

Squirrely: Five stars all around. The rooms are elegant, updated, clean, and comfortable. Each staff member I dealt with went above and beyond to help. I was especially pleased with the front desk employee who grabbed me a cup of coffee in the middle of the night when I had to catch an early flight. The location is excellent and there are plenty of restaurants and attractions within walking distance.

Joe J.: Amazing tea experience in DC, probably the best in terms of service, flavor, presentation and selection of teas. The cherry blossom touch is a nice and pleasant surprise. Although it is on the pricey end, definitely recommend!

The Hay-Adams: what do users think?

Bill Maniatis: From the moment the door is opened for you, you will know that you are walking intro a most beautiful well maintained historical hotel. The facility is so well maintained and he attention to detail is second to none! Everything is clean and organized to perfection! Adding to that facility is the amazing staff! So helpful and polite and willing to perform the jobs so amazingly well. Proper turn down service, friendly and polite and so friendly This is the only place to stay in! The location is wonderful and extremely convenient however what makes The Hey Adams standout is the wonderful staff, attention to detail and how the hotel is maintained. Thank you all so much!

Evan D: Average person review: visiting from the South, and it’s an odd way to type out a review on how employees at a hotel can make you feel like you’re family here while thinking about how it’s their job to do so. It’s not a forced smile they put on, but rather a genuine atmosphere in all that they do for you. My bed was made multiple times a day, my dirty clothes were neatly folded in a small area in the room and I always had fresh towels. (It’s just a big thing for me) As I said before, the staff was more than welcoming! One gentlemen opened the door with a smile outside, and another opened it with a smile on the inside. I’m not anything special, but the Hay Adams staff sure did make me feel as if I was the most important person visiting for the next few days! Breakfast was outstanding; again, I’m a Southerner so breakfast is our staple. Didn’t get a chance to see the rooftop bar after walking 8 miles around DC because we were tired but everything about the inside and restaurant were perfect. As I said in the beginning is exactly what I want to say by ending; it’s a very hard way to describe how this building and staff make you feel like you’re family, and not just a temporary resident to fill a budget quota. There’s truly an indescribable feeling that walking into the Hay Adams is just like going to a distant relatives house. You don’t see them every day, but when you first arrive on the front porch, you’re greeted with a warm welcoming that makes you feel as if you’ve only been gone a few hours. 5 stars.

Katherine Collins: Treated my sister and her husband to a stay at the Hay-Adams & it’s one of the very few times I can say that it was absolutely worth every cent. Our rooms were impeccable, every member of the staff we encountered was genuinely caring, & every meal we ate was exceptional. Everything exceeded my expectations. I’ve never experienced anything like it; they must go out of their way to hire the best of the best & treat them well because nothing fell short of absolute excellence. I don’t think I could ever stay anywhere else in the city. It made our time in DC magical.

Tracey Vlahovic: This was an experience! From my room I can see the white house and such a wonderful view! I took the best pictures! The hotel bar was great and wonderful staff greeted us. We had many rooms booked and so many of my family came along and everyone enjoyed! I highly recommend!

Adam Galazka: Overall, just an amazing experience. I would give them 4.5 stars. Mainly because after our stay, we found some rim and tire damage from valet parking. Working with their management to address it. Booked this through Amex Platinum. Their check in process was amazing. From doors being open to everyone knowing your name, just great. This hotel is right down the street of the White House. Just an amazing location. Room was great with St. John view of the church. Room was spacious. Shower had an amazing pressure. Enjoyed the little touch of water and mandarins. Turn down service was also great as we did not expect it. We will definitely be back. Restaurant and bar/lounge on the premises are amazing.

brian perkins: Was visiting DC for the first time since the pandemic. So glad we stayed at The Hay-Adams. So charming. So comfortable. So beautiful. Such great service (the doormen, the waiters, the hostesses great you by your name every day!). I only had breakfasts there…and I miss them. Especially the corned beef hash. And they charged my Tesla. Perfect.

Priya R.: What an amazing experience. The location of the hotel is spectacular, the service is amazing and the rooms are beautiful. Special thanks to Brian Thomasson for going above and beyond to make sure my twin boys felt special during the stay. If you truly want a memorable experience, you cannot stay anywhere else. We plan to come back soon…many thanks for the fantastic memories.

Michelle W: My husband and I stayed in the Lafayette Park view suite for three nights and we were impressed with every aspect of this beautiful hotel - from the courteous and pleasant service from every employee we interacted with, an awesome concierge who set us up with an informative walking tour of DC, to the wonderful in room dining staff. Off the Record was a nightly favorite! We can’t wait to come back and stay again!

Thomas Corcoran: Despite an issue with some minor room cleanliness, the hotel management handled it extremely well. The staff turned what would have been a disappointment into a very positive experience. We look forward to returning for a relaxing stay again.

Oxon Hill Manor: what do users think?

Claudia Benjamin: We had our wedding here In the morning the views are breathtaking. The house is well kept and the staff is very helpful. If you are looking for a wedding venue or a place to hold a very special event this would surely be one of my picks. We had an intimate 10 am wedding in August with the ceremony seating facing the Potomac. It was fairly hot that day so we made use of the house for the cocktail hour as well as the library to house the cake from the heat. The tent was beautiful and big enough to hold more then our 12 tables and dance floor. The bridal suite is beautiful and gives some amazing pictures as well as the grooms suite. The grounds really do speak for them selves and there is ample parking. If I had to do another event I would surely use them.

jay R.: Beautiful place for a wedding. The food was absolutely fantastic. The wait stuff were very friendly and funny. The decor inside is amazing. Plenty of parking. Highly recommend!!!

Serge Jerome Jr.: Beautiful venue for an outdoor wedding. The wedding was outside on the lawn with the river and green trees on hills in the background. An unbeatable backdrop. The reception was by the pool which had springs and was very clean. It was beautiful all the way around and a great venue.

Sanjeev Sagar: Nice and beautiful venue to host a wedding 💑.

Egypt Edey: Very beautiful and elegant Mansion

Bob Garcia: This was a wonderful location for my friends wedding! The decor was Colonial and added to the charm of the venue!

Alexandra Ritchie: Beautiful stately home with an amazing view. I was there for a wedding. I had an amazing time. Please note that there is no air conditioning. I felt relieved to go upstairs for a bit where there was an electric fan.

Honey & Lavender Events: what do users think?

Bryce Fowler: Positive: Professionalism, Quality, Responsiveness, ValueMaya with Honey and Lavender was the best support to plan and execute my husband’s 50th birthday week. She was responsive and creative up front in the planning phase and great to have as an extra pair of hands during execution. I would definitely hire Maya again and recommend her for any party planning.

Lynne Cripe: My husband and I hired Honey & Lavender Events for full-service planning of our 10-year vow renewal. We eloped when we got married and this was our chance to have a wedding-like event that we had promised our family and friends to one-day hold. Maya and her team were AMAZING! They immediately got a sense of our vision and hopes for the event, helped identify a stellar team of vendors, kept us on track in terms of tasks and budget, came up with creative ideas when we were stumped, helped us navigate the vagaries of event planning during a pandemic, and took care of the details so we could enjoy our guests and each other. People asked us if we were stressed in the days prior to our vow renewal and our ability to honestly respond, "No" was all due to the competence and care of Maya and her team. I would hire them again in a heartbeat and would recommend them enthusiastically to others.

joan hadeed: You absolutely need Maya and her team at your wedding. I cannot say enough good things about them. I hired Maya as my day of planner and from a month out from the wedding she was coordinating it all! I was at ease in the weeks leading up to the wedding because Maya was so responsive to all of my vendors and made sure there was a detailed timeline for the weekend. The day of was PERFECT. Maya and her team are so warm, flexible, organized, and professional. I received so many compliments from both other vendors and guests. Everyone says “something” will go wrong on your wedding day. NOTHING went wrong on our day thanks to Honey and Lavender!!

Jennifer Greene Naples: Maya and Juliette planned a garden soiree birthday party for us in the spring. They were fantastic -- timely, knowledgeable, and well-connected. It was a wonderful, WORRY-FREE experience, which was EXACTLY what we wanted. Would HIGHLY RECOMMEND Honey and Lavender Events, without hesitation, and hope to be able to work with them again in the future! Thank you again for all your help!

The Ritz-Carlton, Washington, D.C.: what do users think?

Logan Deyo: Fantastic staff. Everything was top-notch, clean, and met our expectations. Our supposed room “upgrade” wasn’t really any upgrade, but nonetheless it was a good room. Breakfast was also great. About a five minute walk from the nearest Metro station which made it nice to get around. A longer walk, but we walked all the way down to the National Mall in about 40 minutes.

David Berman: The Ritz Carlton in Washington DC is one of the best hotels I have ever been to! The people who work there are so nice and welcoming. It is a hard place to not love. I personally loved my room. My room came with 2 bathrooms, A enclosed bedroom, and a bar area along with a dinner area. It was the height of luxury. The restaurant there was called the Quadrant. They had some of the best service I have ever had at a hotel restaurant. The food came in huge portions and looked spectacular. Overall, I truly enjoyed my experience there and I know that if any of you guys go there you will too! David Berman Public Space Rating Co. 2021-2022 Chief Rating Officer

Tammy Trungadi: My first time at the Ritz Carlton! It was so beautiful and my stay was fabulous! Maggie, a member from the staff, was so kind to me. She personally brought me carafe of coffee to my room! I felt like a princess! Room was spacious, beautiful and everything you possibly could need for a restful and relaxing stay!

Candy Be: Stayed for 4 nights. Mo at the Concierge desk and John at the restaurant coordinated cocktails one night and dinner another night for our large group. Mirna with room service was so friendly. Overall a pleasant stay.

United States National Arboretum: what do users think?

Eduardo Moser: We visited during cherry blossom days. They have a great variety of cherry trees and magnolias. It is a complement to know different cherry blossoms from those of the Tidal Basin. There is no proper public transportation, so the place is fairly free of tourists. We came to this place by car on the recommendation of a friend who lives in DC. The Bonsai collection is amazing. There is much to walk and explore. On a plain they have mounted the original columns of the Capitol. Bring some snacks and drinks, because there is no service in the place. Access and parking is free.

Da-Wang Wu: We came here in late April, and the Azalea blossoming was pretty amazing! Walking on the trail with the Azalea blossoming along the way was very nice. Parking inside the park can be tricky, so we parked in the lot right next to the entrance and walked 5-10 minutes to the main campus. Overall, it’s a beautiful place, and I would definitely come back.

CJ: Depending on when you visit the US National Arboretum, something different is peaking. In mid April, the fruit trees were just past peak, but the lilacs shrubs were close to full bloom. As I strolled thru the lilac grove, the soft lilac fragrance permeated the air. One of the US National Arboretum’s most prominent and a little puzzling landmarks is the old Corinthian National Capitol Columns residing on the Ellipse Meadow. The US National Arboretum was not the column’s intended home when they were quarried back in the early 1800s. Originally, the columns were built as a part of the east portico of the US Capitol Building now located about 3 miles away from the US National Arboretum. By the 1860s, when the dome of the Capitol was completed, the columns were deemed inadequate to support the new dome. It wouldn’t be until the mid 1980s before the columns would find their final home at the US National Arboretum. Twenty-two of the original 24 columns are on majestic display in Ellipse Meadow. During our trip to the US National Arboretum in mid April, the Azaleas were just starting to bud and bloom. So no good pictures this trip. Peak time for the Azalea garden at the arboretum is late April. I hear the Azaleas are a beautiful sight when the hillside is painted with splotches of different colors.

Karthikeyan Rajaram: Luck is when you run into a beautiful place like this without planning. Better luck is when you get into it in the company of a person who used to volunteer at this place. We didn’t really plan to be at the arboretum, considering that the Spring is still not Springy enough. We had seen enough of Cherry Blossoms in the Tidal basin area that we thought we could do something else. We just made it to this place on recommendation from one of our relatives, who also accompanied us. Since he was a volunteer here, he helped us navigate and gave us so much insights about the different kinds of plants, flowers, bonsais and the what the lovely people who work here, do. We drove around this place and still got to see more cherry blossoms, along with different other species of flora. The enchanting Bonsai museum is a must visit as it did take our breathes away. The old columns of the capitol and the grove of different state trees are some of the special features of this place. The flowers were not in full blossom and we definitely look forward to checking this place again in summer.

Logan Heilman: Visited for the Bonsai event they were having and had a blast. All the vendors were great and the museums bonsai and penjing exhibit was phenomenal. Will definitely be back.

Elisabeth “Beth” Ostrander: We only had about an hour and headed to the bonsai area. Wow! To see living gifts from Japan and China that were started and cared for since before the birth of our nation was truly outstanding. Befitting our National Arboretum! Will return to see more treasures!

The Ritz-Carlton Georgetown, Washington, D.C.: what do users think?

Toni Dzinic: My wife and I had our wedding at the Ritz in their Fahrenheit Ballroom, and what a beautiful night it was! We had ~60 guests and that is about the most people I’d personally recommend for the ballroom. Liliana Klein is the person to talk to when you want to plan a wedding there and she’s such a pleasure to work with. She walked us through everything from day 1. The food was excellent, the preferred vendors were also a joy to work with. Seriously, I’ve never experienced better service at a hotel. If you’re considering having your wedding here, do it! If you’re coming here for a night or two, or just to enjoy some dinner and cocktails, you also won’t regret it. We’ll be back!
