Erin Wagner: I’ve gotten so many high quality items from Miss Pixie’s over the last several years, but today I’m finally leaving the five star review they’ve always deserved! We had scheduled a delivery for them to bring a table we purchased, and Miss Pixie herself rolled up in a pickup truck this morning right on time. It turns out the delivery drivers were stuck in an elevator, but somehow that didn’t stop them at all! We gave her a hand and she didn’t charge us the usual delivery fee to make up for the trouble (what trouble?!). We look forward to continuing to shop at Miss Pixie’s as we furnish our home.

India Lindsay: Store has a variety of furniture, art, and random decorations. Everything is laid out artistically while still being easy to walk around. Majority of items are on the pricier side, though you can find a few steals. I snagged a painted medium-sized pot hand painted in Italy for $12.

Jace Warble: Miss Pixies is a lovely little shop with beautiful pieces, helpful and knowledgeable staff, and price that matches quality. Definitely worth stopping by!

They have a wide variety of things for every taste. So much character! I love to buy random things lol. So of course I bought a few things 🤣. One store that is true to “if you love, BUY IT! It may not be there tomorrow!” I WILL BE BACK

Rachael Brown: Everything is over priced just because they say "antique". But that wasn't even my issue. I was in the store for 10 minutes and passed the store employee and was never greeted. I watched her greet other guests who walked in after me and was super cordial to another guest. Cool. I need to furnish my entire apartment, but I'll take my money to someone who wants it.

Alexandra Goodman: Lovely antique store with some really nice pieces. Prices for some of the larger items were reasonable, but pricing was kind of all over the place. Obvious sets of items (chairs, side tables, glasses, etc.) were priced individually which was weird for an antique store. Other pieces were priced way too high, like $95 for an IKEA mirror or $250 for a simple basic wooden console table (which would have been $50 anywhere else but DC). Overall, I enjoyed this store and walking around inside, but I probably won’t buy here due to the pricing.

Kurt LaRose MSW LCSW LICSW: The antiques and the finds here are wonderful. The staff, volunteers, care so much about the items. Here I am reminded of my grandparents dishes, jewelry, paintings, dishes, silver, metalurgy, pocket watches, rugs .... and the iron statutes are just phenomenal. Today I found a 10k gold rosary engraved from 1924 ... with a historical attention to detail that is awesome. The people working in the store celebrate the items as you look.

Sandra Biedron: Wow. Great place for vintage jewelry and everything else one needs for a home or office. Not only is everything repurposed but all proceeds go to children in the area that need help meeting their emotional needs. Found four rare Portmeirion pottery pieces as well as two pieces of vintage high-end jewelry. These were very fairly priced with the market. Excellent collection of dishes, silver, and crystal. Go there instead of doing a wedding registry! So much more green! Rock on Opportunity Shop - you made my heart happy today seeing things re-purposed! The place was packed!

Eric Rajendra: The best antique and bric-a-brac store in all of DC. Our family in Georgetown has given thousands of dollars worth in contributions of our own antiques we no longer needed and then we bought thousands of dollars more in antiques we needed!! This place is a gem for us Washingtonians!! The volunteer staff members are truly precious and really dedicated!! They love their work and make the entire experience of browsing a joy. The second floor has great stuff so GO UP!! Jewelry, silverware, Asian antiques, porcelain, etc! You won’t be disappointed. You need to return weekly as new consignments and donations come all the time!! Trust me.

Sam Bartley: This place looks amazing. And everything is very nice. But this place is no thrift store. Almost everything here is consignment and the prices can be outrageous. If you're looking for a place to get fine decor and fine bone china (and you're willing to pay hundreds of dollars for it) this is the place. But if you're a student or a person that has anything called a budget restricting you, don't come here.

Randolph Lopez: Question the authenticity of the antiques and antiquities. Do not be misled. I was foolish enough to believe the descriptions that were displayed on the Asian pieces and the purity of some silver pieces that I purchased. I am not a seasoned collector. I only depend on the honesty of people; especially those associated with a “Christian” charity.

Tom Preston: Prices are too high, often higher than the antiques shops in the neighborhood. No bargains unfortunately. And reductions are not per standard consignment shops- only 20% every 60 days instead of every 30 days. Not sure how they stay in business TBH.

A. Greenough Dodd: Huge fan of this nonprofit consignment shop (aka The "Op Shop"!) that benefits the needs of DC area children. Always great finds, but definitely allow time to peruse the many items. Well-worth the search!

Angela Van: Clean and organized decor consignment purchase structure (can see how the price drops by date). Always find something when I go in. Unfortunately, they just re-organized downstairs so the bulk is upstairs--no elevator.

Kathy Carnevale: We had such a great experience with Good Wood. We had to bring our table up to Northern Virginia and they were so careful to pack and protect our items. The quality of the table and chairs is amazing and the prices can't be beat!

Joyce Sampson: The stock and the ambiance deserve five stars. My first visit, I was mesmerized. It was wonderland. When I left the shop, in my excitement, I called back and purchased a piece that I had fallen in love with over the phone. Later I realized that it was just not right for the intended space in my home. So I called and asked if they could keep the piece (which was still in the store) and offer me an if in-store credit. The guy who sold to me apologized and said returns/refunds were not policy. I asked him if he might call the shop owner but he wouldn't budge. While I do understand the policy, I didnt care for his attitude when he said, "You bought it, now it's all yours." I've shopped many antique stores and MOST will try to accommodate you in some way. You won't get the extra pickle at GoodWood.

Yarden Golan: I rarely give reviews. But GoodWood is hands down the best vintage furniture store in the area. Above their great items, they have the most amazing costumer service iv’e encountered. They will go above and beyond to make sure you are satisfied. Highly recommended!

Natalie: While the selection is solidly 4+ star, the customer service is anything but. I concur with the reviewer who said the staff barely acknowledged their existence. Once the staff had deigned to answer my question, the two ladies behind the counter gave me that once-over, up-and-down glance before sneering and going back to talking to each other. I’m just… speechless. On principle, I won’t give my money to adults who behave like high school “mean girls.” It’s a shame, since I used to visit this store 10 years ago when I first moved to DC and looked forward to one day having my own rowhouse to furnish. Now that I do, I won’t be shopping here.

Emma Ruehl: GoodWood is chock-full of special, high-quality vintage and vintage-modern pieces. The store is warm, bright, expertly curated, and the associates are super friendly. They also get a fresh batch of items weekly on Thursday, so you're sure to find a gem whenever you visit.

David Dreyer: One of the best stores of any kind in Washington. Staff takes a close interest in what customers want. If you don't see what you want, they will survey their sources and find items that work for you. That said, it's very hard to visit Good Wood without seeing a lot of furniture, tabletop, or other items that you'd want to ride home with you. Last, there is an appealing, integrated aesthetic to the place that makes it a pretty nice and welcoming place to visit. 5 stars earned.

Ricky Ocampo: Love the items that they carry here, but I’ve found the staff to be rather unfriendly. I’ve stopped by a few times over the last few weeks and not once has an employee said “hi” to me or acknowledged my existence.

Dale and Dell D: I really like this store. They have many pre-owned beautiful items (furniture and art/décor) that are offered at much lower prices than which they were originally purchased. I don't expect the salespeople to be experts on all the furniture they sell because they are not the manufacturers of the furniture.

Andre Mann: The store staff isn't knowledgeable about items they sell. I purchased a solid wood dresser. The store management didn't know what wood species were used. A person by name Kim sent me a link to the manufacturing website where I read that maple, cherry, or walnut is used to produce this kind of dressers. The store wouldn't let me take the dresser home because the store policy that heavy items must be delivered by a third party. I bought it June 12th, 2021 and after going back and forth about delivery date the email came in saying that the delivery will be made June 30th. I offered an option of me hiring professionals to delivery the piece, the store declined my offer. I will never buy anything from them.

We rely on authoritative sources in providing information. Your account of details are grossly inaccurate, and more important you neglected to note delays were caused by you and non acceptance of offered delivery dates. We made every attempt to provide excellent service by waiving store policy and accommodating your requests ranging from discounts to logistics demands.

Julia Just: I have bought multiple items here such as my living room couch, and have been happy till today. The person with me has a medical condition and needed to use the restroom ASAP. The lady working in the store refused the use of the bathroom. We are offended and will not shop here any longer.

The bathroom in our showroom is not available to the public primarily due to safety and security issues. The bathroom is a multi-use space that is not handicap compliant making it inappropriate for public use. Briana Wojcik: Store full of great finds! Got a nice carved wood art piece for $21 after the very kind owner gave me a first-timers discount. It is obvious that he knows a lot about antiquing and remembers the location of everything in the shop! Things are reasonably priced though and he is very fair. Everything is in good shape, and I will be heading back to pick up pieces more my apartment!

Natalie: This is my go-to place for vintage and antique furniture in the DC area. The owner is a gem - he is the absolute nicest person and his customer service makes it feel like you’ve stepped back in time because he is an expert about his stock and will take the time to help you find the perfect item. Every time I’ve visited, I’ve found something wonderful and unexpected. Another thing I appreciate about this store is that the prices - including for delivery - are very reasonable, especially for DC. It is almost singlehandedly furnishing my home with unique and sustainable items that I love and that have already proven they can stand the test of time. I can’t recommend this store more highly!

Mon Oubliette: So, this is my favorite antique spot in the entire Washington, Maryland, Northern Virginia area. Why? The owner and the selection. Somehow, like freakin’ magic, this guy charms me into buying more furniture than my wife and I intended to buy (if we even intended to buy anything at all!). He’s a national treasure and we look forward to seeing him every time. And, while the selection is completely random, they always seem to have at least one thing I can’t live without. Prices are good too. Check this place out. Note: This is an especially excellent antique shop for someone that knows how to do a little sanding, touch-up/wood stain work. Many really handsome pieces show their age and, if you can see through the nicks and tiny blemishes, there are some fantastic finds here.

Isabel Fleming: Fabulous place, wonderful owner. Helpful with questions about items and also willing to "bargain" a bit. This is one of those stores where you'll never know what you might find. I tend to shop here with an open mind instead of searching for a specific item, which has really made it fun, but the owner is also a wealth of info about those certain things you're seeking! Convenient walk to Metro, and I've even hauled furniture from the store to the train and then home.

Franklin Sahlhoff: Couple things* Prices are high but you get what you pay for in regards to the condition that said they need to do some spring cleaning??? Maybe I’m just a clean freak but they could hire some heavy lifters to clear the place out felt like half storage unit half show room. William Kraybill: Wonderful Experience! Doug, the owner, has more knowledge of Modern furniture in general and Danish Modern in particular than anyone else I have spoken with. He will give you the background and history of any piece you're interested in, so you know exactly what you will be getting when you are considering a purchase. More than just facts and details, he gives you a feel for the piece, so you can really understand how it will fit in your home. I love this guy :)

Mario Zampaglione: I've tried to go to this store on two separate occasions. Each time I was met with rude upper management that wasted my time and did little, if anything, to make up for their mistakes in having me wait outside the store after having called to ensure the store was open. Furthermore, their stubbornness in refusing to admit their mistakes and offer any kind of conciliation was truly infuriating. While their collection of furniture is certainly nice (reason for the two stars) they overcharge like crazy. I was able to find the same couch I found in their store for 45% less and in much better condition. Having finally furnished my apartment from other vendors, I've learned that this store has a reputation of consistently rip customers off. I'm all for supporting small businesses like this, but my consistent poor experience with Modern Mobler leave me to have to leave this review.

talltomtroyny: Great store and everyone was more than helpful. Prices are very high. I couldn't afford anything. I asked about a teak garbage can and was quoted $800-$1200. I also picked out a few Dansk candle holders which the guy didn't know the price. I gave him my email address, and still haven't gotten a price 3 days later.

Lisa showed me CORT's meticulously curated selection & she was so welcoming & friendly to me & my service animal 🤗🐕‍ 💜 . This CORT location has excellent new & lightly used furniture. Lisa explained that the used furniture is usually from businesses & the pieces are thoroughly sanitized by professionals before going on sale. I purchased a new couch with an exquisite sectional in a blue that "pops"...and I purchased a lovely used dining table set & desk set...perfect for days when I am working from home remotely. I've never had such a lovely & quick experience in a furniture store. Also they have same day delivery which is a huge plus! Aniba & Richard were also kind... Their bedroom selection is not as plentiful...but they did have a few vanity sets. I also scored a huge foldable work table that I will use for art projects. It's funny b/c my mom recently spent thousands on a similar couch set from Macy's...it took 6 months to arrive (supposedly due to COVID) & the quality is not nearly as good as my couch. Don't allow a fancy store name to fool you into throwing away money on subpar furniture. CORT has excellent pieces for an affordable price tag. Trust me you cannot beat the customer service, quality, or price...highly recommended 💃🏾🧘🏾🤸🏾‍♀️!

Arik Karani: Recently moved into the DMV area and I went in to check out the furniture. Yousser and Lisa were amazing. They took me through all the units, helped me choose what would work for my house, discussed my budget and gave me awesome discounts to be able to get my dream furniture. The store closed and they didn’t chase me out, they were so pleasant and assisted me till the completion of the purchase which was way past closing time (over an hour). They also gave me awesome gifts to welcome me to DMV and to help warm my new home 😊. They didn’t stop there, they helped me get the best mover (Kassa). He was so professional, he delivered the entire furniture same day and fit all the items where I requested him. This is definitely the store to visit. Renee Jagana: Shopping at Cort Furniture was the best experience I had this year. One of the representatives name Lisa was very fast with responding to my email request. I went in the next day and she was very professional it seemed like she already knew what I was looking for because everything that she was showing me I wanted it and brought it. I was in and out of Cort Furniture Outlet in Rockville MD less than 40mins. My apartment bed, dinning and living room are filled with Cort Furniture for an affordable price. If it wasn't for Lisa responding to my email I would probably just have a bed. R Adebowale: I was interested in purchasing the Austin Leather Barstool from Joybird but like everyone else, I’ve read the reviews about Joybird and was nervous about purchasing furniture from them. I called the DC showroom and asked if they had the barstool on display and they did. I eventually went to the store to view the barstools in person and had such a pleasant experience with the Dela and the rest of the associates in the store. I ended up purchasing the barstools and because I purchased them in the showroom, I got a pair of free pillows! The barstools came in exactly within the timeframe they quoted and they were perfect. Will be back to purchase more furniture!

Amy Rowland: Honestly I was scared to place an order based on the reviews. However, Tyler at the DC showroom was super kind and helpful when we went to look at fabrics. He offered a fabric sample box to take home before making the final decision. Tyler was wonderful. After visiting the showroom (twice), we ordered the Holt storage sectional and were told delivery would be mid-December. We received the couch this week, which was delivered and assembled in our living room with no hassle. So far, loving the sectional - perfect size for our living room, very comfortable, and the pet friendly fabric does not show dog hair. Will be interesting to see how the couch holds up over an extended period of time but, so far so good - a seamless ordering and delivery process.

Jessica Abbott: Our experience with Joybird has been quite disappointing. I will never buy another product from them, and wish we hadn't wasted our time and money. We bought a Hopson Grand couch, which was shipped to us 13 months ago. Within two months, a cushion seam ripped. I thought it was a fluke, and was happy when their customer service sent us a replacement cushion. Six months after that, a second cushion seam split, and again, they sent us a new cushion. Within two months of that, the first cushion they replaced split at the seam AGAIN. Now Joybird won't replace the cushion because the year warranty is over, but they told us we could replace the cushion for $200 a pop. What? On a couch we spent $1600 on 13 months ago? I see the price for that couch has actually been raised to $1760 now, which is absurd. We have a couch that is used in a formal living area that gets very little activity that is basically rendered useless. Meanwhile, our 14 year old Ikea couch that the kids and their friends use all the time, that has been through 5 military moves, and cost almost half the price, has held up beautifully. We'll never buy another Joybird product, and will happily tell anyone I know considering it what an ordeal ours has been, and how poor the craftsmanship is. Shame on you, Joybird.

Vatche Hadajian: Horrible customer service. Order will 100% be delayed if they ever receive it. We ordered a sectional, notified it had shipped and were tracking the shipment. The tracking showed it was in transit for over a month well past the deadline for when it would arrive at the warehouse. I reached out to find out the status and was told they would have to track it down. A week later they said it was lost and will need to reorder a replacement piece. Another month or so and I receive a notice that the order is ready for delivery. I scheduled the delivery and unsurprisingly I only received half the couch (the replacement order was not included). Delivery people had no clue what I was talking about. I reached out to Joybird and they said they will track the missing order and get back to me. We had just gone thru this entire process of finding the missing piece. They are in over their heads with logistic and management. We ordered our couch in Nov 2021 and its currently April 2022 and still no idea when we will get it. If you try calling the customer service number no one will pick up even if its during their stated work hours. Will never order from here again!!!

Brittany Beresford: If I could give 0 stars, I would. TERRIBLE COMMUNICATION, CUSTOMER SERVICE, AND NO ACCOMMODATIONS DUE TO THEIR LACK OF EFFICIENCY. Placed an order for the Denna sectional in June of 2021, which was supposed to arrive around September 10th of 2021. I CONTACTED THEM the first week of October to check on the status because my account showed it wasn’t even in production. A WEEK LATER I received a response apologizing and that the fabric I wanted was on back-order until January 2022. The only option I was given was to pick a new fabric and they’d throw in a protection plan for free. The new fabric I chose had an estimated delivery date of end of October- beginning of November. Right before Thanksgiving I REACHED OUT TO THEM yet again, because it said it was sitting at Lazy Boy’s warehouse. I was told 1/2 of the couch was missing and that they’d start an investigation and get back to me within 3-5 business days. 8 BUSINESS DAYS LATER I REACHED OUT TO THEM, and they still had no answers. My options were to get a refund or place an entire new order (yeah right). I already informed them I wanted a refund if they could not locate the other 1/2, nothing like paying attention to detail. It’s now 12/06 and I’m still awaiting my refund. Please note we aren’t rich, and really wanted to finally invest in a good piece of furniture. DO NOT ORDER FROM THEM IF YOU'RE NOT LOCAL TO THEIR STORE. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND ARTICLE.COM - great quality and excellent customer service.

M D: Update: 2:27 - I read through the other ratings and decided to the store directly. I spoke with Cynthia and she worked with us on the finding a solution. It wasn't a perfect solution, but it is helping us through until our couch get here. I upgrading the rating from a well deserve one star to three just because of her. If everything goes through well, then another increase in rating will come. So for the moment, go see Cynthia if you need to deal with Joybird Placed an order on July 4th. Promised delivery on the 25th, then the 30th and now December 13th. Their solution was $100 gift card, protection plan or "will provide you a full refund" A good solution would be, "We are sorry for the giant #screw up we did here is 30%+ off your couch and free delivery. Another solution would be " We are sending a temporary couch to your home and will provide you with a very generous discount." Another great solution would be "We are sorry for the giant #screw up, we are paying expediated fees for expedited materials and and will it a rush priority of your couch build, you'll have it in two and half weeks. " The online chat part is one of the worst parts of this company that I've dealt with. Not an exaggeration.

Suzie Agrillo: An impressive, curated selection of clothes at affordable prices. I was able to try on and buy a number of designer selections for $3-$11. The staff was friendly and helpful, telling us at checkout that all clothes were 25% off. I got a variety of whimsical, one of a kind items for a modest amount of money. I highly recommend this store. It also made me feel even better that all of the sale proceeds benefit the blind.

Zoya Margolis: What happened guys? It used to be a thrift store I loved to buy from but it changed to eBay priced store during the pandemic. They actually look up ebay to price their inventory. That's not longer a thrift store moto! The Twig Thrift store a block away is my favorite. The Christ house catholic charitues is my other fave.

I've been turned away from buying items that are out on the sales floor because they want to appraise them. It's a thrift store not an antique auction event. They also make looking around uncomfortable by watching your every move as if you'll run out the door with something. Disappointing since they have cool things every once in awhile but not worth the unpleasant experience.

Jon La Marr: I would give R-Home Furniture 100 stars if I could. An absolutely amazing place to get custom, hand-made, and beautiful furniture at great prices. We've had endless problems with the "brand name" furniture places, but you will not have any problems going here. We hand picked our pieces and had them custom made/delivered in under a week! R-Home Furniture is family-run from creation to delivery. Every interaction we've had with them has been a breeze. We will definitely be back to get more soon!

M M King: The R-Home Furniture team is amazing! From selection of the wood to designing the table, bench seating, and end table, the service and support were first class! The finished products were great!

Jessica Kropf: This is a good store to visit if you like solid wood furniture. They have some items available to carry away same day, and offer custom orders as well. They also have a lot of large wood slabs on hand to select and custom finish for live edge tables. The location at 2936-B Prosperity Ave. is scheduled to close and consolidate with the Alexandria location (possibly by July 2022?). They have live edge wood slabs there still, along with rustic reclaimed cabinets and furniture, tansu style chests, and tables and chairs. Items are discounted at that location currently until the move, or visit the main location in Alexandria for a wider selection of furniture and decorative items.

Kaitlin Beach: This is truly a hidden gem. We were looking for a new table and found R-Home. The service was excellent, helpful but not at all pushy. I could not believe the amazing selection of quality, handmade wood pieces, including reclaimed and live-edge wood slabs. Prices are super reasonable for the excellent quality, especially as it's right in the DC area. We didn't see anything else close to this selection and price for the quality. We came away with a dining table made of reclaimed oak that will last us for the long haul. Delivery was great. We cannot stop raving about this purchase!

Arthur Lord: Great quality, family-owned business, with even better customer service. We were very happy with the dining room table and chairs that we bought. After we used the table daily for a year, we noticed the wood started to separate at one end-- we contacted the owner (Bram) and he happily fixed the table, free of charge. Even gave us a loaner for the days it was in their shop. They picked it up and dropped it off around our schedule. It looks and works great now. Talk about standing behind your products. Would definitely shop here again.

Cory C: The storefront might seem small at first glance, but inside is a huge warehouse of unique furniture from around the world. I was blown away by size inside the store and the amount of furniture in it. The pieces in the store are mix of contemporary and classic pieces of beautiful, solid hardwood and they also offer accents and accessories. While shopping, the staff was kind, friendly, and helpful. While I was browsing, they even offered to customize pieces of furniture to fit into any sized spaces-- (which was great for furnishing my apartment!). The tables, chairs, and media console that I got all look simple and beautiful. Next time I'm in Virginia, I'll definitely be stopping here again. Potterybarn pieces of furniture without the prices. Would recommend.

m rivera: It's a cute little thrift store with variety of things. I really enjoy going here because of the unique things you can find at a reasonable price. I bought two luluroe dresses for 20 bucks. The people who work there are volunteers and are super helpful and friendly. I recommend this spot to donate gently used clothes and housewares. Also, I recommend this spot for shopping with a budget and in a quest to find one of kind things.

BFoz: I'd stay away. Purchased a pair of shoes here, which fell apart after about two weeks. Sure, they were only $4, but still. Then, I went back the other day to purchase some clothing, but they decide to stay closed until after Labor Day. How convenient. Churches are in a position to lead on spiritual matters, not do things like this. Maybe try Goodwill on South Dakota Avenue.

Karen Allen: Every visit has been a delight. The inventory is consistently unique and high quality. The volunteers are delightful.

Lilliandra Shaffer: It's a little small, basically the size of a thrift store you'd find in a small town, but the stuff that they have was donated by the parishioners of the National Cathedral. If you need cheap work clothes this place is great.

Brenda Morning: Past shopping has been a treasure hunting experience but today there was nothing I could use. Maybe the good donations are down n sadly I was disappointed. I will return again at a later date nut I'm in no hurry based on todays visit

Knowing lead times are stretched, we ordered some outdoor furniture well ahead of when we’d need it. When we approached the date that we thought we’d take delivery, we learned there had been some miscommunication about how/when the delivery would occur. Warehouse Showrooms really bent over backwards to address the situation and make it work for us. Super helpful and responsive customer service. Furniture delivery guys were great too, very friendly and helpful. Can’t wait to enjoy our Polywood rockers!

Barry Rosman: We bought 5 matching walnut chairs to go with our new Live Edge table. The chairs legs were too wide to fit 2 chairs side by side. After some discussion, the came up with an innovative solution to move the table legs at no charge. They saved the day and fixed it within 24 hours. That is service. They are very helpful, creative and very easy to do business with.

Michael Nagan: Two big thumbs-up for BoConcept, and Tim. The first thumbs-up is for the furniture itself. We purchased several Mariposa chairs and a Granada table. We have absolutely loved them both! They are probably our favorite pieces of furniture. The table is incredibly easy to expand and contract, so we actually do it all the time. (The mechanism is kind of fun to use, so I actually like doing it, rather than dreading it.) And the chairs are beautiful and comfortable. The second thumbs-up is for their service. We had a problem with one of the chairs almost five years after we purchased it. The warranty had long since ended, but I contacted Tim (who wasn’t even the owner when we purchased the chairs) to ask about it. He concluded that the problem shouldn’t have happened, so he offered to fix the chair for free. That involved replacing a substantial piece of the chair - which couldn’t have been cheap for them. And they did the repair in about 15 minutes at their warehouse while I waited and chatted with the lovely repair people. I guess you can tell that I feel pretty positive about BoConcept, but they’ve earned it!

Rob Streicker: I cannot say enough nice things about BoConcept DC and its owner Tim Machenaud. I purchased an office chair from this shop almost 5 years ago and it held up beautifully until one of the wheels popped off -- it appeared that normal wear and tear had stripped a bolt of its threading. Despite the chair being out of warranty, Tim immediately offered to replace the entire chair at no cost to me. It was available to pick up from the showroom the next day. This is customer service at its finest. I'm now sitting in my new chair writing this review -- a very happy customer.

Laura Lee: Seriously, the best customer service EVER!. We bought a couch and a rug here and Tim is so expeditious with his replies to anything we needed. There was a little piece of fabric that was sticking out after we got it delivered and he came right away to fix it. The delivery was also the BEST delivery experience I have ever had. SOOOOO OD professional! The inside of the moving vehicle was even cleaner than my house! Definitely NOT a 3rd party delivery service and fake white glove delivery. They wore booties when they came into the house, came within the time frame of said delivery, and gave 20-25 mins notice as promised. I would DEFINITELY recommend them to ANYONE! Superb 5 star service.

Reanna Rousseau: I have to say very disrespectful management at this location. The staff was lovely and helpful but the short light skin women manager with the face piercings, with her mask underneath her nose gave me the worst experience I have ever had at goodwill. Her regional needs to have her replaced ASAP. You can’t make your own rules at your store that’s not in policy. You can get fired for things like that and she must be reported. This is a store where they take free items and mark them up for “Goodwill” to sell to the people in the community who can’t afford the regular priced items. If you are over pricing the item you are basically doing a disservice to the community.

Lea Sumlin: On. April 30. A beautiful morning. I decided to donate things, I don't need. My family and I went to the South Dakota location. When we got there, a light skin colored girl with glasses as the manager was VERY UNPROFESSIONAL We did not get a Good Morning. She WAS VERY UNPLEASANT with her Approach. "We're not open yet, did you hear me and we line up over here. I never opened my mouth but after her unprofessional way of speaking. I ask, " do you WORK here. "Am the manager". She is NOT MANAGER PROFESSIONAL. We left. I Googled Salvation Army on Kenilworth Ave. They were open and VERY PROFESSIONAL AS WELL. THANKS SALVATION ARMY. We were very happy when we got there and after we left.💯❤️❤️❤️.

Zh Ie: Purchased online from this location. The staff was amazing on checking the condition of the item after purchase, and as an added service on their end, they sent a few extra close-ups even after I had purchased, which was not necessary, but so appreciated that they thought to do that. Above and beyond service, and extremely customer-service oriented.

Andrew Patricio: Bizarre. Don't bother going here to donate anything except kitchen stuff or toys, (except baby toys they won't take). On the website it says they take clothes, furniture, etc and they used to but no longer for some reason. Any even toys they won't take anything "a baby can sit in". Ie no bounce toys, push bike etc. Wasted my time twice in a row. Never again. Just go down the road to salvation army or even better, the value village thrift store.

Kim Barr: I found some lovely things there the staff was very helpful and definitely check out the colors of the week sales. I was able to get a 15.99 suit for 3.99 because of the colors of the week sale.

Team World: Caĺled them numerous times over several weeks for pick up of lots of veey good clothes and furniture. I am leaving the country. They never called back.- couldnt be bothered apparently. SHAME on you, Goodwilll, aren't you supposed to serve the disenfranchised????

Janice Burrell: Called and asked if they accept books. The guy told me they did. When I got there the guy told me they were at their capacity for books. It was more like he didn't want to do the work to check them in. Every time I go there it is always a problem. They should tell you these things when you call. Since they don't I can only conclude that it's just a lazy employee. Extremely poor customer service.

solomon asefaw: I am writing this review to let Goodwill undermines its gools when it doesn't follow up its workers at the receiving and dropping gate of this location. Today at around 3:35pm when I came to donate, I was harassed by one Of the stuff at the gate. Goodwill should place professional stuff at the dropp of gate before it too late.

Franklin Owens III: I was there for clothing… but I can never pick out clothing in a thrift store, so I left with books. The store was well organized though. I tend to be a bit uncomfortable buying items out of thrift stores. I didn’t care much for the clothes. But there were other items in the home section were really nice. Everyone was nice in the thrift store. Even when I gathered a cart full of books and then realized I couldn’t use my clothing voucher on books😬😅

Mary Veach: I had read reviews for this location and saw all the nice stuff said about Wendy so I was so happy when we walked in and were greeted by Wendy!! She was the perfect balance of helpful while still giving us space to browse and discuss what we liked. Whenever we had a question she was easy to find and came right over and had answers to all the questions we asked. We ended up purchasing a couch and the whole process was really straightforward - none of that “add this protection and this feature and this extended warranty” etc etc that you have to muddle through with some sales people. We actually had time to just chit chat while we waited for my husband to tend to our child and Wendy is a genuinely nice person!! Highly recommend a visit to this location… you may even want to call ahead and ask when Wendy is working!!

Hassan M: Got the beat deal . Delivery guys are awesome. Delivery was on exact day and time . I guess 59$ for delivery just threshold (dropoff inside through first door ) with assembly (90$). I don’t need that it was just four legs for my sofa . Customer service is amazing. For delivery person they called 2 minutes before arrival and then dropped it inside my living room. Best thing they took off the shoe before stepping on my carpet and were wearing mask .

on studio: The WORST furniture store I have ever seen. Oh boy, where can I start? The first day I had ordered set bedroom furniture and sofa which is 1/26/22 they said I'm gonna get all the delivered by 3/23/22 I said, "OK" after a while they told me they don't know when my furniture available for delivery. (disappointment) but still, I have been waiting so patiently. March 13 they said all my orders gonna deliver on 4/2/22 I said "OK(i was happy) and I fix my work schedule to get the delivery but never lasted 😔. Yesterday they called me she told me all my orders were ready to deliver by 03/30/22 which is next week Wednesday I said ok and I fixed my work schedule again. So bad today they tell me my order not available it gonna be ready to deliver by 4/9/22 We just so disappointed because we trust them and we throw away old furniture except only meters. Now we just decide to cancel the order and buy a different furniture store if we can't able to get the order by 4/9/22 no more baby. before you buy make sure they gonna keep the promised day. for me they never. This Store Oh My GOD so unprofessional. I will never go back again.

Cecille Lawson: I recently bought a couch, love seat, and two arm chairs. The manager, Rick, was incredibly helpful. I had ordered the furniture online without seeing it in person first. He contacted me to let me know that there was an issue with the couch and also let me know the couch and loveseat/chairs didn't really go well together even though it looked that way online. He encouraged me to go to the store to look at the options in person. When I did that, he was again very helpful and worked to identify the pieces that really met my need and then ensured that they were delivered on the day they were promised - even when the other store that one of the items was coming from didn't send over the right chair. He went above and beyond and personally oversaw the delivery of the chair that was missing from the other store. Rick truly takes customer service seriously. I will be a repeat customer thanks to him!

Abi Maghamfar: A place to donate unwanted items and buy used items from furniture to toys to kitchenware, clothes, shoes, books, DVDs, etc at reasonable prices. If you buying toys, puzzles and games or anything that have multiple pieces, makes sure all pieces are there as this has been one of the disappointing aspects of buying stuff here. The other disappointment is the lack of organization and cleanliness of the facility. Love the idea of recycling and reusing rather than sending them to the wasteland and Unique provides that opportunity.

Alice L.: Unique Thrift is a for-profit enterprise owned by Savers, which is owned by a private equity firm in the Seattle area. It is NOT a charity shop and does not donate its profits to charity. Their website clearly states: "Shopping in our stores does not support any non-profit." The company says it purchases donated items from some local non-profits; however, it does not release details on these buying deals. The company is large and owns many thrift stores around the country. I mention this because there are true charity shops in the area--including Goodwill, Urban Thrift, Salvation Army, church shops, etc.--that are actually charities and donate their profits to charity. Some of the real charity shops are even run by volunteers working for no pay in order to help the cause. A lot of people seem to think Unique is a charity and the attorney general in Minnesota has in the past accused this company of misrepresenting how much it gives to charity. So if you have lovely and near-new items to donate, I highly suggest donating them to authentic charity shops. I frequently shop the charity shops, but I also shop at Unique. Unique Thrift is still a worthwhile place to shop and I have found many nice items for good prices. It is pretty well managed and prices are marked clearly. The merchandise is generally clean and not damaged, although you have to examine your items carefully. There are 7-day exchanges but only for clothing and shoes. Be very careful buying anything else that might have defects, such as luggage, electronics, furniture, etc. Some items do have hidden damage so you have to look carefully. There are discounts here on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays only so those days tend to be crowded.

JJ Edwards: Its a huge thrift store, as afar as I know and for so many thrift store I had visited this is my favorite one. They have huge selection of clothes, shoes, toys, books, furniture, kitchen ware and many more. Worth to check out!

Sara O'Brien: I have been going to this place for years and always felt welcome, but today was the worst experience of my life. We were in line for self checkout, when I saw that register 18 was open, as I proceeded with my daughter to the register the woman that was in charged of self checkout named Charika told us, "come here because I cannot see what you ring there." We walked to the register that she told us and as I scanned this woman stands there staring at us scan each item. I was already getting upset because she was staring at us scan as if we were the only customers there or as if we were thieves. After scanning 7 items this woman proceeds to approach my bag and count the items that I had placed inside the bag to make sure it matched the amount of items on the screen. I felt that we were being treated as thieves. I got so upset, I asked for the manager, but she said no one was available, so I took a picture of her ID card. This woman stood staring at our register until we finished ringing every item as if we were thieves. People go to the thrift store for many reasons, but in no moment should they be harassed by anyone. This store needs to train its employees to be courteous and not target people

li garcia: Good thrift store. Nice selections of everything. All staff and personnel are nice and friendly except for the old lady at the register. Very mean ! Unfriendly! And the voice specially when she’s on the speaker. She’s always mad and unhappy person. I’m sure I’m not the only one noticing it!

Par and: It was my worst horrible thrifting experience ever. This Women Charika was extremely rude, and treated people as if they are thieves, it was traumatizing to see her digging into ppl's card at checkout and checking every single items aggressively. This store will go out of business soon, because of this women "Chaika", who enjoys harassing customers. Not to mention the store was extremely dirty, and messy.

Cynethea: This is a big store. They have household items, furniture, bedding, books, toys and more. I always leave there loaded up with great finds. It has a huge clothing section. I always find some of the best sweaters and tops. It's a great place to shop especially if you have limited funds. Tuesday is discount day. Check out lines move quickly. Team members are very pleasant.

That Brunette: High volume thrift store. Very busy with customers every day of the week. The turnover of stuff is high so, if you see something you like grab it. I've seen collectors and resellers in this store. Lots of kids playing in the toy section while the parents shop.

Ariel S.B.: My favorite thrift store! Yeah, some of the prices are just a little bit higher than your average goodwill, but the quality of items is so much better. I’ve seen brand new items from designer stores, sometimes with the tags still on them. Stuff is actually trendy and cute and not dated. They have clothes in every size, the selection is huge! Definitely visit if you’re looking to revamp your wardrobe.

Pr Katz: Love this place! Having a party? Get all the great Pyrex and serveware you need - have awesome BoHo mismatched fine china place settings, accessorize with cheap stuff from the craft store and outlet stores, and you've got a magazine worthy party photo at a price you can afford. Best of all? After the party, I box it up and redonate it back to the Great Stuff Stream (thrift store) for the next person. No new manufacturing, no waste, no piles of seldom used party supplies cluttering up the house. Perfect 👌🏼 Update: the masks are getting OLD! Self check out. Not shopping or donating here again.

Laurie Howell: Gala furniture saved the day for us! I was able to get the perfect twin bed frame and recliner for my father's new room in Assisted Living in record time. The owner of Gala went out of his way to help me with the selection, and he even delivered the furniture himself to make sure it got there in time. Great quality and prices and excellent service. Great job Gala!!

UT Z: If you live in the MD or VA area, and are in need of anything futon (or furniture) related you need to go to Gala. I drove an hour from my home to his store for a new futon mattress and it was worth it more than I can say. First, it is the service. He gave me options, asked me questions which I hadn't even thought to ask and helped me pick out my futon mattress. Let me emphasize: he helped. He didn't pressure me to pick out a more expensive option. He also really cared that I went home happy. In a world of 'get it quick', and 'just order online', this independent small-business (with a lot of American made products!) reinforced for me the benefits and importance of shopping locally.

Namitha Ramakrishna: This is a store with wonderful quality products, managed by a knowledgeable and friendly family. The lower priced couches are more expensive than chain stores like Ashley Home Store, but they are absolutely worth the quality. My friend recently slept on my couch for several nights (after I have had the couch for 2 years), and she said it was even better than her mattress. I also appreciated that the family did not pressure me to buy anything but walked me through all the options. Would absolutely recommend for anyone looking for long-lasting, comfortable, and beautiful furniture.

April Ty: We had a WONDERFUL experience at Gala Futons and Furniture today. We didn’t quite know what to expect walking in and boy were we pleasantly surprised. Mr. Ayman was helping a couple when we walked in and while we waited, we listened as he helped them. He was geniunely engaged in them and we could tell that he was just not trying to make a sale. When it was our turn, he asked lots of questions, not in an annoying way but in a way that you could tell he was really interested in what we wanted or needed. He was not pushy at all. We ended up making a purchase that same visit. We are happy to support his business. Thanks for a great and painless shopping experience!

Shiry and Ayman welcomed us like family and made our whole day really wonderful. edmonton7810: Ayman is super nice, knowledgeable, and helpful. He helped me pick a couch for my living room. I changed my mind a couple of times, but he was always patient, even though what I ended up buying was half the price of the first couch I picked :) Ayman also provided me with a much needed service free of charge (he said it was an easy job for him). I have received the couch for about a week and it is great. I cannot thank Ayman enough for helping me find what I need. Highly Recommend!

You will NOT find a better place to "discover" the furniture you did not even dream of before walking in. Owner Ayman and his fashionable daughter Shiry know the furniture industry at all social levels and for all budgets. If they cannot find exactly what it is you have in mind, be assured, it does not exist on the planet! Yet, they may recommend something new, exciting, and exceptional that was not in your visions. And you being pleased is their only focus. Ayman and Shiry, working together, will fulfill your interior designer dreams quickly, but patiently, and always affordably. [Take it from a long-time Arlington real estate investor and landlord: this place has no equal!]

Hannah Lensing: Best place in the metro area to buy a couch, sectional, or futon. They will get you what you want at a great price. Extremely knowledgeable and willing to work with you. Recommend having an idea of what you are looking for prior to going because it’s a small showroom. Plus is you have tons of options to choose from and customize. My boyfriend reminds me every day we got the perfect couch :)

Carolyn Marie: My husband and I have been going to Gala since we moved to the area in 2016. They are fantastic! It’s a family-run business with a small showroom and TONS of knowledge about the products. Whatever you need, whatever your budget, they will help you find the perfect piece. They are very up front and honest, they do not try to wheel and deal you, and they stand by their products. They run their business with integrity, professionalism, and warmth. We have bought a dining room set, an entertainment center, two desks, two desk chairs, a small couch, and an entire master bedroom set from them. Every piece has been just as they described. They are also just very lovely people. If you need affordable but nice furniture, go to them! You won’t be disappointed.

Subrina W: I been it here a few times over the past 2 months this place have change drastically they went from having nice stuff to having stuff that they should put in the trash. I am sorry for saying it that way but if you paying for something it should be something good even if you find it in the thrift store!! This is stuff they get for free so why overcharge for it.

virginie gimenez: What a change since I went! The first time (awhile ago), it was only an antique little store and a big mess outside the building. I recently went back and what a great experience! There are two stores: the first one focuses on collectibles and the second, which is the building next to it is what you expect from a thrift store. The mess outside is gone. Wonderful and the people were super nice! From 1 star to 5 stars.

Catherine Palumbo: This place is excellent. It is wonderful for people who are transient (particularly those from other countries whose electrical items back home run on 240 v). I was able to purchase some great 2nd hand electrical items for a great price, although the Margherita maker may well bring me unstuck.... :) Also, lots of clothing and glass ware, crockery etc. This place is DEFINITELY worth a visit, and it is supporting your local military, so buy up big! I LOVED IT! From a very satisfied Aussie!!!

Thomas Bourne: Absolutely fabulous thrift store. I was able to get uniforms for my cadets very reasonable and even snagged a Marlow White Army Mess dress jacket for $50! Ms Jean is the best!

bonacmj: Messy and overpriced. Difficult to find anything because there's too much product that doesn't get moved. $15 for a worn Capitols t-shirt that says Mcdonalds on the back because it was a free giveaway at a game? Shame. Buy a new one for less and donate the remaining $ to USO.
