TOM OBRIEN: We worked with Lowes, Home Depot, Claws, Empire and Fairfax Flooring America. We did our homework. Contact me if you want to know about any as we did our home work both Box, TV Commercial, and mom and pop based. The best thing about this store is that it is mom and pop and locally owned but they are back by a national organization for things like supply times, material colors and options, etc. In addition, their installers were really the best contractors I have dealt with in a long time: Polite, Respectful to people and furniture, quality, and clean up. I would not ever go anywhere else for flooring. I have owned three house in MD/VA and have two river cabins in WV. So, I have dealt with may contractors over the last 30 years.

Paul Cage: BOTTOM LINE UP FRONT: I would definitely recommend District Floor Depot for anyone looking for new floors. It was a long time in getting this project done, but the wait was worth it. The staff was some of the most helpful and friendly I have dealt with in the DC area. When they came out for site surveys, three times because the scope of work changed, they maintained COVID protocols, and were prompt to get the quotes back to me. The devilry date for the materials, due to a snow storm, they contacted me to let me know of the issues. Installation was good and the end result was beautiful floors that have changed the look and feel in the upper level of the home. I will be contacting them to do the main level of my house when I do that project!

Lee Springer: Awesome experience! I had no idea where to get hardwood floors as someone who’s doing a renovation for the first time. District scheduled someone to come out that week to measure and talk me through the project. I went into the showroom to finalize my wood and scheduled an appointment in 2 weeks. They came when scheduled and finished the job in 4-5 hours for 250 sq ft. I’ve heard nightmare stories about contractors but district was great. Total cost was $12/sq ft installed. Highly recommend, I plan to use them for next project!

Leah Evangelista: We just finished redoing almost all the floors in our new house with District floors. They were fast, friendly and easy to work with. They started and finished the job exactly when they said they would. They put two types of luxury vinyl in our basement and our sunroom turned office. Both projects are perfect, the floors are so well done and the shoe molding looks great. They also refinished an entire second floor going from floor to floor carpet to beautiful tiger wood floors as well as two staircases. The floors are gorgeous and they matched the first floor perfectly. They exceeded all expectations and Ever and his crew were great. Worked as clean as possible, were friendly and cleaned the house well after they were done. Gracias Ever. Its made our home so much more beautiful and functional for our family!

Tony Camilli: Competent, reliable and honest is how I would describe DFD! We did a major renovation of our house and shopped at 5 other floor vendors before finding DFD. Not only did the DFD team supply us with a great product at a competitive price, they did an excellent job installing it. We also made a few changes on our transition pieces during the install process and DFD was very patient, flexible, and cooperative.

F S: Excellent job replacing my flooring last year; easy from start to finish. Very nice Brazilian cherry and great installation as well as disposal/ clean up. There was a delay by a few days delay in finishing due to an underestimation in the amount of product needed but they did not charge for this. It’s supposed to be lost cost repairs too but I’m still waiting on the estimate for this.

Sassy Sauce: Great discounts on Christmas items as part of the holiday sale. I picked up Christmas stockings for under $5.00. There were fire pits on clearance as well. I like this location and they generally have the items I’m in need of for repairs or decorations, etc. The staff is very helpful as well.
Kev- keepingitreal: This location offers a variety of affordable items for your home improvement needs. I really appreciate the staff in the aisle for assisting me with finding items on my check list. At check out the cashier was welcoming and friendly. This store was very clean and offers plenty of parking.
Jessica Fullington: Today I went to the garden center for some outside plants. Yolanda was so very helpful! She was able to answer my questions, she even went and got me a cart so that it was easier for me to get the items I purchased to my car. It is so refreshing to have people who are pleasant and helpful at their jobs I will definitely come back to this location to get all the plants I need this spring! Marla was very helpful as well along with the young man who answered some of my questions about my plans. All around a wonderful experience!
goklt: Lots of materials here. Check out was fast. However good luck asking for assistance. Lots of associates are walking around but not helping customers. I tracked an employee down for assistance in moving materials from a high shelf to store level in the door section. He called two times for assistance to my aisle but no one came and he advised going to customer service. They called and still no help. Had to track somone down in a different department altogether. Crazy.
Chase Johnson: The employees here are courteous. But the wood cutting service they claim to offer is not available when needed. The store should just be candid that wood cutting won’t be available (or at the very least won’t be available at any specific time). I am a local DIYer (not a contractor). Before I bought wood I asked about cutting and was told it was no problem—buy it and then request a cut. I did. I was then told the lumber associate wasn’t available for an hour. I couldn’t get the wood (a single sheet of plywood I needed to cut in half) into my car, so I waited. After an hour, there was still no lumber associate, so the wood was never cut.
Annie Signorelli: I ordered a dishwasher with professional installation and the process from start to finish was completely nontransparent and unprofessional. The installation had to be rescheduled because the dishwasher wasn’t pulled down for pick up in time, and then when it was installed it was the incorrect dishwasher — not even the right brand. After several hours on the phone with the Lowes installation line, including being told multiple times that they couldn’t advance the process because they couldn’t get in touch with anyone at their own Lowes store, I called the store directly and was able to sort it out and get the installation rescheduled. A Lowes associate later told me that they don’t have the “luxury” of waiting on hold with the store which is what I had to do in order to ensure my order was completed. Finally the correct dishwasher was installed on the third attempt and I was told I could contact the installation line again to discuss compensation for the inconvenience. Again it took multiple attempts to even get an update on where my case stood, despite being told every time that I should expect a call back “by end of business” every day I called. When I finally got offered compensation it was for less than half of the amount I requested (I requested the installation service be refunded seeing as it took 3 attempts and I was the one having to set everything up because Lowes did not follow through). While I am satisfied with the product I am in disbelief at how difficult and unprofessional the process was with Lowes. I do not recommend purchasing appliances from installation from this store or using the Lowes installation services.

Jordan Tenenbaum: Update: Had a few rooms of hardwoods installed last week. Just as last time, Kaveh did a great job coordinating the job, getting the right materials (and fast!). The installers were prompt, professional, and did a fantastic job making it look seamless with our existing hardwood floors. Would highly recommend now as a repeat customer. Good customer service and follow up.

chunghsiang wang: I’m impressed by Floors on 14th for 2 main reasons: 1. Customer services. For anyone who had been through home renovations, you know how many surprises and delays along the way. I had to re-schedule my floor installation with Kevah (the owner of store) so many times! Kevah was always a phone call away and very nice to accommodate with my schedule changes. I won’t get this kind of attention and services from Home Depot or Lowes. 2. They did a wonderful job to install the hardwood. Kevah’s crew didn’t rush to install and move on to other projects. They paid attention to the detail and made sure the floor was done right. It looked great and spotless after they finished. Overall, I’m very pleased with my decision to use Kevah and his company to install floors for my condo. I highly recommend them to everyone, including my friends.

Ebony Williams: I have NEVER in my life received such exceptional service from any retailer! Let me tell y’all about Jeff, the manager of Lumber Liquidators Flooring in Beltsville. You might not even believe what I’m going to say! I recently purchased a house & immediately started renovations. Within the last 2 weeks, I have visited this store multiple times to buy flooring. Once the project was over, I had one unopened box of floor panels that I went in the store to return. As soon as Jeff saw me unloading my car, he quickly ran to the door to meet me. He opened the door, kindly greeted me, and took the heavy box from my hand. I followed him to the register to start my return. He asked me how my thanksgiving was and we had small talk. I ended up telling him that I recently saw that the floors I had purchased during my renovations had went on sale & joked about the fact that I should’ve waited 2 weeks to start my renovations. His response was “let me see about that.” Y’all, this man went and refunded me the difference of what I paid and the sale price of ALL the floors I purchased. I thought I would be walking out with a $60 refund but ended up leaving the the store with over $400 in refunds. I spent a lot of money these last few weeks between a down payment on a home & renovations. Not to mention, Christmas is right around the corner and I’m a single mom. This was truly a BLESSING. Jeff - THANK YOU SO MUCH. THAT MEANT SO MUCH TO ME! You were a HUGE blessing to not only me but also my family!!! To me, kind acts mean SO much, ESPECIALLY with the state that this country is in! James Brown: I am posting via personal, but worked with Capital Carpet through my job in project management. Last fall, I had to pick up a project needing completion by 12/31/22, and reached out to this team. Kavoos came by with samples and an amazing attitude. He worked with my stakeholders on a bit of designing and meeting their objectives and the professionalism was exceptional. During installation, the team was very professional and worked quite hard, delivering an amazing new look to our Class A NWDC office boardroom. Not only are my stakeholders thrilled with how well the design blends to our office, but the quality has been exceptional as well. Both on a professional and personal level, I highly recommend Capital Carpet. I will be calling this team first on my next project!

Christian Bailey: The Best Flooring Company in the DMV Area!!! As an interior designer, I have worked with a lot of companies but there’s something different about them. My clients and I came couple weeks ago for a one bedroom installation. Philly warmly welcomed us. She was professional and very sweet to work with. I told her to give us a ring and keep us on the loop throughout the carpeting as we travel a lot. Our carpet was backlogged due to Covid but she made sure somehow with the factory to get it sooner. She also kept messaging and updating me along the process. Our floors were beautifully done by Freddie. I appreciate the great work Will be uploading pictures on Yelp as well! A J: I received carpet installation today. The contractors arrived within the time promised. They did an excellent job and I’m very well pleased with my new carpet. They were professional and focused on getting the job done. I had expected them to at least stop and take a lunch break but they kept working so thumbs up to being dedicated. I will update my review within 6 months to let everyone know how my carpet is holding up. However, as of now it looks good. I’m confident the carpet will continue to look good. Their measurer/estimator(Hamed) came to my house same day, emailed a written quote and within 10 days(special order carpet) the installer(Freddie) laid BEAUTIFUL Mohawk carpet throughout my home! The entire staff was pleasant from beginning to end and although there were some hiccups due to Covid related matters(vendor supply chain delays/labor shortage) Felia, Hamed, Freddie and the Owner were always pleasant. My carpet looks great, feels great for a better price than two competitors! First thing my children and I did was make “snow-carpet angels”! Thank you Capital Carpet! Lucille Washington: The people at Capital Carpet were outstanding. I purchased some carpet from them. They gave me the best service I have had for home improvement in a while. The two gentlemen arrived on time and worked non stop until the job was complete. They cleaned up all of their mess and left the rooms looking as they were before they arrived. I was on a very tight schedule and Capital Carpet was flexible enough to fit me in and the job on site was seamless. I highly recommend them if you need carpet installed.

She helped me to stay within my budget and offered me a good deal on LVT and carpet. The owner was nice and accommodating. The installers did an excellent job as well. They noted a few problem areas in the floor before installing the LVT throughout the first level and suggested repairs. The added repairs to the total cost was reasonable. Bailey Cage: Unfortunately this was the first time I’ve been to a Home Depot where the staff was completely unknowledgeable. I had spent hours online trying to research the best products / methods for tiling my second-story concrete subfloor with no definitive answers, so I decided to head to the store and find someone to help me. Normally Home Depot workers are incredibly knowledgeable and helpful, but whoever they sent back to flooring to help me seemed to know nothing. He was able to show me where items were on the aisle, but he couldn’t answer a single question about how to tile my floor or what the differences and pros/cons in products were. It was incredibly frustrating and unhelpful, and I ended up leaving with a couple hundred dollars of products I later had to return. What truly upset me is that I did some more research once I got home just to find out the answer I was looking for is common knowledge in construction, but as someone doing a DIY project, I just didn’t know what terms I had to search for. For a Home Depot employee - the flooring specialist - to not know this is astounding.

I am trying to get a door, but the store is unresponsive, the management is inept and provides no additional assistance, the associates are extremely slow, unknowledgeable of the products. The worst customer service experience I have ever had. I do not recommend this store. Please go to another Home Depot location.
Anna Lloyd: Desmond in the home and garden went out of his way to help us find something that 4 different employees had just shrugged their shoulders and said that even though it was available online they were probably out. Desmond knew exactly where it was and showed us himself, even though it was on the complete other side of the store. He really took customer service to the next level.
DAVID GILL: paint dept vert slow. When paint was done I was not told it was done. I came up to the counter and stood there waiting while emotes helped others. After 10 minutes he pointed at can. I said is that mine he looked at me like Duh.

Dotti Haggerty: We have bought from Carousel for years going back to when the founder Will owned the company. His sons Bobby and Norman continued the business. We purchased kitchen flooring from them for about the 5-6th time over the 40 years we have been in Bowie. The floor started getting deep gouges thru out the floor. They had a rep from the company come out to take a look and no one would stand behind their product. To this day, and its been over 5 years nothing has been done about the horrible flooring! Norman promised he would replace it but never did. We deserved so much more after all the business, references, and money we gave them. I will never deal with Carousel again. Very disappointing.
Betsy Hall-Wallace: We went through Home Advisor and talked with 3 other flooring contractors. Some prices were lowish, but they were pushy and lacked knowledge of Bowie houses and specifics of what flooring was best on a concrete slab, etc. Carousel was not pushy, answered every question, knew exactly what we needed to know and even accommodated our schedule. They gave us all the heads up information we needed. The installation of a whole level of flooring was done very professionally in a day and a half. It looks like this is the way it always should have been.

My husband and I could not decide on a color. The sales rep was so helpful after seeing us go in circles about the color, he offered to let us take home the samples to try in our home! We lived only 15 minutes away and this was HUGE to help us make a decision. We brought the samples home, tried them out, and purchased the chosen color the same day! The sales rep even helped me load the butcher block into my vehicle and helped me clear the space so it would fit evenly. Overall, I would highly recommend this location. I wish I had the sales reps name to post but in general, we had a very very pleasant experience and thank you for having your customers best interest in mind!
Gal Hershko: While the floor I ordered did not end up working out, I still would like to give 5 stars for the customer service I received. I initially spoke to Johan, who was apologetic and sincere. My issue was then handled and resolved by Glen, who patiently dealt with the matter. He was very kind and helpful, responded to my several calls, and never once showed anger or impatience towards me (despite how frustrated I was). He communicated with LL corporate to help resolve my issue and I greatly appreciate his efforts and sincerity.
Delighted Day: At the beginning I were searching for 5 gallons buckets and never heard of this store, we ordered 14 buckets and 4 days went by, I didn’t receive any email said the items was ready, so I went to the website and chatted, the staff on website said they’re in stock, just calling the store, then when I called store, the store staffs said they are here to pickup, then when I about to drive, the same staff calling and said they had only 7. I were upset and cancel ordered, and wrote negative review but I got a response to contact them to solved problem they got my 14 buckets ready to pickup in 2 days and with no cost! When I went there to pickup the staff was apologizing for what was messed up. I am very pleased with customer service, so I changed my review.

Martha Medina: If I could give less than one star I would. We ordered 160 sq. ft. of natural wood for our dining room. However, what we got was less than half of that. Once our contractor informed us of how much flooring we were missing, we called them in an attempt to resolve the issue. They refused to give us the remaining amount of flooring that WE ALREADY PAID FOR and they tried to charge us for what was missing. Not to mention the day we picked up the wood the person working in the warehouse loaded and unloaded our order from our car TWICE claiming it was the wrong order then saying it was the right order. Incredibly disappointed with this place. Save your money and go elsewhere. Horrible customer service.

Kate Frantz: Phenomenal experience all around. This was my first flooring project as a homeowner, and Dominion Floors was incredibly helpful throughout the process. I appreciated the knowledgeable recommendations as I explored material options, especially living in a condo building where soundproofing is important. Dominion Floors listened to my needs and presented sound solutions to approach the job. They were also patient and gracious as we navigated my building’s HOA requirements. The work was actually completed in less time than originally estimated, and my home was left orderly and clear of debris. Throughout the duration of the project, I received transparent updates that made me feel confident about the work being done in my home. Best of all, my floors look fabulous!

Melissa Kelley: I had hardwood floors sanded and refinished by Dominion Floors and ordered luxury vinyl tile that ended up not being installed. The refinished floors looked good, however they were messy in applying the sealant and it was splashed all over the surrounding trim. They missed reinstalling one piece of trim and never made it back to replace it. When the crew came to install the tile they were unable to get in the realtor lock on the door and did not call to get help to get in. After another failed attempt to get the floor installed due to an interaction with a realtor onsite we opted not to have the tile done. Two months later and I am still waiting for my refund. I do not recommend this company.

Taylor Cranwell: My wife and I hired Solo Flooring to put in new engineered hickory hardwoods in the front of our house as well as refinish our existing oak hardwood floors in the back. They did a fantastic job! Jose, who runs the company, was extremely responsive and was sensitive to the timing to get the work done. He was able to do it while we were on vacation in order to minimize the hassle of trying to live in the house as the floors were done. They moved all furniture and put it back in its original position. I would highly recommend the company and would definitely use them again in the future!

Elizabeth Fisher: I would highly recommend Jose and his team at Solo flooring. We had existing carpet replaced, new hard wood flooring placed and LVP flooring done in the downstairs. This was a large project and they completed it in one week!! Jose came by and answered all of our questions which we had many before starting this project. His team arrived on time daily and cleaned up before leaving. After the project was completed Jose came by and inspected it and made sure we were happy with the results. I would recommend Solo Flooring to my friends and family. Thank you for a job well done.

Ryan Scheller: Was referred to the Bethesda Floormax by another flooring service in the area who couldn’t take on a job I had. They told me to go see Sam and he’ll take care of you and that was a good move. He was knowledgeable, flexible, and responsive. I could call or text and he had answers. Got a good estimate and they stick to it - no surprises. Tile work and carpet both turned out looking good. Highly recommended.

Thomas Troost: Had a great experience at the store with Sam Bagha discussing all the pros and cons of the various flooring types. We finally selected ‘luxury vinyl’ flooring to replace carpeting in our basement rec room. We also had hardwood stairs replacing what was under the carpeted ones as well as having some worn stairs sanded and refinished. All the work was professionally done with minimal mess and in a timely fashion. Everything was done at a fair cost. We are extremely pleased with the results and highly recommend them.

Paris France: I walked in to the store to check some of the wood flooring and schedule a free estimate. The salesperson was sitting or rather laying comfortably in his chair and on his cell phone. I waited for him to stand up but he just looked st me and continued with his phone games. Then I asked if I could get some pricing. It took him 4 minutes to just move himself. He gave me a bad attitude because I had interrupted his video whatever game he was playing. I asked for some pricing and his answer was” I don’t know”. I asked if there were anyone in the store and he said that he was it. I asked for the name of his supervisor and he got very verbally abusive and started using profanity. I was simply shocked and scared. I left the store and called another store to get the regional managers number to report this. I did leave a message fir the head manager and never got a return call. This place is not a place I recommend. I would not do business with them if they did all my flooring for free. Totally unprofessional and rude.
