Jordan Tenenbaum: Update: Had a few rooms of hardwoods installed last week. Just as last time, Kaveh did a great job coordinating the job, getting the right materials (and fast!). The installers were prompt, professional, and did a fantastic job making it look seamless with our existing hardwood floors. Would highly recommend now as a repeat customer. Good customer service and follow up.

Farzam Tamami: Total home renovation and job done extremely well. We turned a full bathroom into two full bathrooms...didn't even know that was possible. The did a splendid job with my floor and paint for the whole apartment. The crew is very knowledgeable with any home improvement projects - they did amazing job with putting recesses lighting in my apartment. Kevin, the owner is a good guy and gave me a fair estimate for all the work. I highly recommend Floors on 14 for all your home improvement projects.

I had bamboo floors installed in our apartment almost a year ago, and they are the absolute most beautiful part of my apartment renovation. chunghsiang wang: I’m impressed by Floors on 14th for 2 main reasons: 1. Customer services. For anyone who had been through home renovations, you know how many surprises and delays along the way. I had to re-schedule my floor installation with Kevah (the owner of store) so many times! Kevah was always a phone call away and very nice to accommodate with my schedule changes. I won’t get this kind of attention and services from Home Depot or Lowes. 2. They did a wonderful job to install the hardwood. Kevah’s crew didn’t rush to install and move on to other projects. They paid attention to the detail and made sure the floor was done right. It looked great and spotless after they finished. Overall, I’m very pleased with my decision to use Kevah and his company to install floors for my condo. I highly recommend them to everyone, including my friends.

Neill Williams: I had Floors on 14th replace the carpeting in two rooms of my house with engineered hardwood. I am very pleased with the results!! It has really changed the atmosphere of the rooms. Installation went very smoothly and the price was very competitive compared to other flooring companies I contacted. I don't have any regrets.

Having been involved in the flooring business for a number of years, Tim was able to answer all questions and provided excellent recommendations on what flooring to consider as well as what the process involved to replace my flooring. He was there every step of the way and visited my residence several times throughout the 2 week process to ensure things were running smoothly. The team that replaced the floors was outstanding! Anthony Palatta: Universal Floors repaired a section of our bedroom oak floor that had become damaged after using it as gym during COVID. They removed the minimum amount of wood necessary, improved the support under the floor, matched the wood panels perfectly, and finally, stained the floor to a perfect match. Janelle Brassel: I contacted Universal Floors to install hardwood in 2 rooms of my home and restore and refinish the original 1924 hardwood in 3 other rooms and had a great experience. Kevin was very responsive, friendly, and professional. He and his crew worked quickly and efficiently, and were more than willing to address minor "fixes" where the stain appeared uneven due to different boards absorbing the color differently. Brenda Bishop: Tim, Guy and the staff of Universal Floors did an absolutely amazing job repairing our oak parquet flooring. They were professional, thoughtful and went above and beyond. Not only did they match the stain on our 40 year old flooring that had been stained 11 years prior to their repair, they took great care in preparing the work area and covered everything in plastic. Stephen West: I highly recommend Universal Floors. Out of all the tradesmen i worked with throughout the construction of my home, the team at Universal was by far the best and easiest to work with. Their pricing was fair, they followed through on everything they said they would do, but above all else the quality of their work was unmatched. They installed roughly 2000 sqft of white oak in my home and over the course of that I met about 6 different Universal employees. Everyone of them was kind and respectful of my home and went the extra mile to make sure i was completely satisfied. Something I found especially telling, each one of their employees has work for Universal for decades. That is rare in the building and trades industry and it tells you something about the quality of the compony.

Madeline Wilczewski: Tim and the team at Universal Floors are truly the best. I purchased a town home in DC and they refinished the existing oak floors, installed new oak in the rooms that had carpet, and installed engineered hardwood over the ugly tile on the entry level. Everything came out absolutely beautiful and I would work with them on every flooring project in the future. They also came back ~7 months later when an appliance delivery damaged the engineered wood on the first floor. It looks just as perfect now as they say they first installed it! Paul Cage: BOTTOM LINE UP FRONT: I would definitely recommend District Floor Depot for anyone looking for new floors. It was a long time in getting this project done, but the wait was worth it. The staff was some of the most helpful and friendly I have dealt with in the DC area. When they came out for site surveys, three times because the scope of work changed, they maintained COVID protocols, and were prompt to get the quotes back to me. The devilry date for the materials, due to a snow storm, they contacted me to let me know of the issues. Installation was good and the end result was beautiful floors that have changed the look and feel in the upper level of the home. I will be contacting them to do the main level of my house when I do that project!

Lee Springer: Awesome experience! I had no idea where to get hardwood floors as someone who’s doing a renovation for the first time. District scheduled someone to come out that week to measure and talk me through the project. I went into the showroom to finalize my wood and scheduled an appointment in 2 weeks. They came when scheduled and finished the job in 4-5 hours for 250 sq ft. I’ve heard nightmare stories about contractors but district was great. Total cost was $12/sq ft installed. Highly recommend, I plan to use them for next project!

Andrea Wolfson: I am *SO* happy with my new floors! From start to finish, the team at District Floor Depot was fantastic. I had a ton of questions about the floors and how the installation process would work during the pandemic, and they were very patient at answering all of my questions. They also brought me samples so that I wouldn't have to go in to the showroom. In terms of price, District Floor Depot came in the same as the other large national company (which claimed to offer so many discounts). Their customer service set them apart by far. Plus, I wanted to use bamboo floors. District Floor Depot had many options and the other company had only 3.

Leah Evangelista: We just finished redoing almost all the floors in our new house with District floors. They were fast, friendly and easy to work with. They started and finished the job exactly when they said they would. They put two types of luxury vinyl in our basement and our sunroom turned office. Both projects are perfect, the floors are so well done and the shoe molding looks great. They also refinished an entire second floor going from floor to floor carpet to beautiful tiger wood floors as well as two staircases. The floors are gorgeous and they matched the first floor perfectly. They exceeded all expectations and Ever and his crew were great. Tony Camilli: Competent, reliable and honest is how I would describe DFD! We did a major renovation of our house and shopped at 5 other floor vendors before finding DFD. Not only did the DFD team supply us with a great product at a competitive price, they did an excellent job installing it. We also made a few changes on our transition pieces during the install process and DFD was very patient, flexible, and cooperative.

F S: Excellent job replacing my flooring last year; easy from start to finish. Very nice Brazilian cherry and great installation as well as disposal/ clean up. There was a delay by a few days delay in finishing due to an underestimation in the amount of product needed but they did not charge for this. It’s supposed to be lost cost repairs too but I’m still waiting on the estimate for this.

Bryan Powell: I had DC floors come in to refinish my floors. Against my contractors advice as he wanted to use his own guys. I wanted to try to help some local businesses so I went with DC floors. Seemed like a good company and Tony was responsive and helpful in explaining. However when it came to actually doing the work his partner Ed showed up and that's when things got bad. We had already worked out a quote for the job however 2 days into the work Ed requested another 4400$ that he wanted in the middle of the job, I told him that's way to much so he came down to 3800$ which was on top of the already quoted price. As uncomfortable as I felt sending more money in the middle of the job I did. During the process pointing out some areas that needed work and Ed said he was sure to address them. During this process there was in issue with the bank and the check was not cleared, so Ed calls me yelling and cursing me out, yes the customer telling me how I am f-ing up his books and he wants cash now. I told him absolutely no and that all money will be paid at the end of the job. The job was disappointing there are spots where they didn't sand, they didn't poly the steps nor the top level, and there are spots where they didn't use enough wood filler so you can see in through to the floor below. I've have called and called and the Ed came out to look finally and said he would have someone come out to take care of it and nothing still. I plan to contact reputable floor company now to fix all the mistakes and now spend additional money on top of the 13k I already spent of going with DC Floors. BIG MISTAKE Services: Restoration , Coating , Sanding

Jamie Greenawalt: DC Floors refinished the 100 year old original oak and walnut floors in my condo back in 2015. They did a fantastic job and were responsive, helpful, and pleasant. The floors have worn beautifully even in high traffic ares. I have had a few issues with nails and small repairs since then, which are to be expected given the floors are so old, and they have cheerfully come to address them. Arvia Lynch: I recently renovated my house and considered replacing my old wood floors because the wood look awful, but decided to call DC Floors to come out to give me some advise on what to do. Tony and Eddie were really great in working with me and they suggest I refinish the old ones and they gave me a reasonable price to get it done! Eddie brought out different samples colors of stain for me to choose from, and he said they could sand them and make them like new again and explain thoroughly what type of wood I had and what stains would be best for the wood, so thou I was somewhat reluctant, I picked one of the colors he suggested; and it was a great hit!!! I even had some pieces of flooring missing due to other work done in the house, and they were able to match and replace it. I had a crazy work schedule but they were able to come as earliest as I needed and when I worked late they were very flexible to come later when I got home. Their workers were extremely careful with moving my delicate pieces of furniture and a perfect gentlemen to even help me move other items I had not yet had a change to move. I found them trust worthy and due to my busy schedule, I was able to give them the key to finish the work. The floors looks BRAND NEW!!! They did a GREAT JOB!!! They did such great work that all my guests thinks I had new floors installed! Not only did they do my resident, I have other property and I had them to do the same at the other house as well, and each year I have them to come out and clean and polish the floors. I just discovered that DC Floors is family own both brothers Tony and Eddie are fair, honest and reliable and most important they have workers that are skilled there's nothing about wood that they do not know! I plan to continue to use them for all my floor needs, and will tell anyone if you want great floors than you would want DC FLOORS!!! Thank you Eddie and Tony for doing such a AWESOME JOB ON MY FLOORS!!!

Torsten Wezel: I feel the need to share my negative experience with D.C. Floors to warn would-be customers of this firm. I called D.C. Floors to have scratches in my hardwood floors removed. Other firms had declined to work on individual areas, perhaps for good reason. When they showed up 30 minutes ahead of the scheduled time early in the morning, the D.C. floors manager and an apprentice gave me no explanation on how they were going to remove the scratches but went right to work, sanding the floors in a pretty brutal manner and then applying paint. The manager promised to check back in after 4 weeks to make sure the results were nice but he never did. The results were horrific, my floors are discolored in the spots treated and actaully look worse than before. For this "work" that was done in less than 2 hours I was charged almost $1,000. When I called the manager some weeks after, he said he could not come to fix due to Covid-19. I have called several times since but he did not pick up or return my calls. The experience was terrible overall. This individual appears to be nice and willing to cater to clients' need but in fact he is full of **** (I heard him cussing on the phone outside my home). He also seems to pick his estimates out of thin air. I was stupid enough to look only at the overall four star rating on Google without reading the reviews in detail,´at least one of which fully mirrored my experience. These people are no experts, they really don't care for your floors after all but rather take the money and move on to the next project. I am still aghast at this recklessness and neglicence and wish I had spent the large sum of money on something worthwhile.

Ray Huff: Contracted with company 6 months prior to the supposed completion of work. Failed on many accounts to.meet times designated and sloppy applications of urethane as well failed to remove corner round, and failed to fill the cracks in floor as we contracted. Also failed to respond to.my phones indicating my dissatisfaction of their job. Had to hire a different compnay to complete to my satisfaction. I clearly would not recommend this company.

Samurai 123: I had used DC floors in 2010 and then used them again in 2018 to refinish 1860s hours with fragile floors. Came out looking very good. I would recommend DC Floors to anybody.

Tom Reiter: Don't know about the negative reviews, these guys did a great job on my hardwood floor. My old pine hardwood floors were cracking a bit. The first contractor I spoke with recommended putting a new floor on top of the old one, and would guarantee that would fix anything. Someone recommended these guys, they came in and actually, you know, replaced the old boards with new ones and finished them so that they're indistinguishable from the old ones. Floor is like new, very pleased.

Opera Critic: The salesman, Tom Monroe, high pressured me to pay my balance immediately which I did, yet despite three requests, Classic FLoors did not have the integrity nor courtesy to emailed me a copy of my credit card charge nor invoice that shows a zero balance, which I have requested three times and need for insurance purposes. Therefore, I would be very cautious doing business with such a company and consequently, could not recommend them.

James Brown: I am posting via personal, but worked with Capital Carpet through my job in project management. Last fall, I had to pick up a project needing completion by 12/31/22, and reached out to this team. Kavoos came by with samples and an amazing attitude. He worked with my stakeholders on a bit of designing and meeting their objectives and the professionalism was exceptional. During installation, the team was very professional and worked quite hard, delivering an amazing new look to our Class A NWDC office boardroom. Not only are my stakeholders thrilled with how well the design blends to our office, but the quality has been exceptional as well. Both on a professional and personal level, I highly recommend Capital Carpet. I will be calling this team first on my next project!

Johanna Crowl: Kavoos was a great customer service rep and carpet installer. Just had my entire apartment carpeted by them. I love the look, it's the exact color I wanted, and it's very soft. I didn't have to move any furniture and the install time was very quick!

Christian Bailey: The Best Flooring Company in the DMV Area!!! As an interior designer, I have worked with a lot of companies but there’s something different about them. My clients and I came couple weeks ago for a one bedroom installation. Philly warmly welcomed us. She was professional and very sweet to work with. I told her to give us a ring and keep us on the loop throughout the carpeting as we travel a lot. Our carpet was backlogged due to Covid but she made sure somehow with the factory to get it sooner. She also kept messaging and updating me along the process. Our floors were beautifully done by Freddie. I appreciate the great work Will be uploading pictures on Yelp as well! A J: I received carpet installation today. The contractors arrived within the time promised. They did an excellent job and I’m very well pleased with my new carpet. They were professional and focused on getting the job done. I had expected them to at least stop and take a lunch break but they kept working so thumbs up to being dedicated. I will update my review within 6 months to let everyone know how my carpet is holding up. However, as of now it looks good. I’m confident the carpet will continue to look good. Patricia Antoneia Jackson: Great Customer Service!! walking in the store, which was quite busy, I was acknowledged by the front desk receptionist(Felia) and once available she listened and directed me to the exact carpet style I was looking for. Their measurer/estimator(Hamed) came to my house same day, emailed a written quote and within 10 days(special order carpet) the installer(Freddie) laid BEAUTIFUL Mohawk carpet throughout my home! The entire staff was pleasant from beginning to end and although there were some hiccups due to Covid related matters(vendor supply chain delays/labor shortage) Felia, Hamed, Freddie and the Owner were always pleasant. My carpet looks great, feels great for a better price than two competitors! First thing my children and I did was make “snow-carpet angels”! Thank you Capital Carpet! Lucille Washington: The people at Capital Carpet were outstanding. I purchased some carpet from them. They gave me the best service I have had for home improvement in a while. The two gentlemen arrived on time and worked non stop until the job was complete. They cleaned up all of their mess and left the rooms looking as they were before they arrived. I could not have asked for a better experience.

michael biddle: I had a great experience with Capital Carpet. It was a small job—carpeting a flight of stairs—yet I felt that I go their full attention. To be honest, the place doesn't look like much from the outside, but they have lots and lots of carpet samples on two floors. I made a few selections, and able to take the samples home. After making a final choice, I got a complete estimate of the cost, and was on their calendar for installation about 2 weeks later. The installers were on time, friendly, professional and fast. They made sure I was happy with their work before leaving. I am very happy with my carpet.

They were very accommodating and had a lot of options with competitive pricing and the installation was quick and smooth. The Christian Socialite: From: Ms. Dixon Love my LVT floors and carpet. Capital Carpet LLC installed LVT and carpet in my house this week. Excellent customer service. Negin did an excellent job. She helped me to stay within my budget and offered me a good deal on LVT and carpet. The owner was nice and accommodating. The installers did an excellent job as well. They noted a few problem areas in the floor before installing the LVT throughout the first level and suggested repairs. The added repairs to the total cost was reasonable. They cleaned up the house real nice. Capital Carpet was recommended by a friend. I too highly recommend. 5 stars 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 Thank you Capital Carpet!

Marlette Kirby: I will say that my floors are better than they were, that's why they would get 1 star. There's a BUT... They took forever to come and do the installation. Ok I get there's a shortage of material and back orders waiting for materials to come in, whatever. Finally did the install and I was so excited for my new floors that I didn't notice right away that I have a small gap where there's no flooring in my upstairs hallway which I didn't notice until a few months later because it's behind a door. Also I realized that all my closet doors were off track and now I can't properly open and close them, one of them was actually put on backwards from them rushing. I wouldn't recommend them but if you choose to use this company, please thoroughly inspect their work right after they finish. Don't trust that they are "professionals" and will do what's right. According to costumer service I called to late for them to do anything about it. So now I have closet doors that are just propped up because it's hard for me to put them back on properly. Now I have to pay $13,000 for service I'm not even happy with. And I have to pay for someone to fix what they messed up, it's ridiculous.

Anna-Marie Buchner: The crew that came in to do the carpeting were excellent. They took the pains to take care of all my furniture and cleaned as they went I was really impressed with them. I would use them again that's how good they were. The next part of our job included tile and hardwood floors. There was a little hiccup with this crew. It took them 12 hours and honestly they left the house a mess. Some of the workmanship was not very professional. I guess I expected the same kind of workmanship the carpet guys did. I took pictures and we allowed the same crew to come back out and assess. They agreed it looked bad. They corrected a few of the 1/4 rounds but had to get permission to fix the floor. 50 Floor sent out another crew headed by Alex. OMG I wish he was the one who initially installed our floors. This guy is amazing. He saw the pictures and listened to what we said and what we showed him. He knew exactly what was wrong and he seriously explained and showed us what he was talking about. He fixed and cleaned up everything. He also put down a drop cloth so there would be no damage to my new floors. He was great. Alex made my world right. He was fast and knew exactly what he was doing. I thank my lucky stars for Alex and the other gentleman he had with him. Kudos to Alex and his assistant. Even though we had a rough patch I'm still giving 50 Floor 5* most companies would try and blame all the mishaps on us or our house, but 50 Floor even the original installers agreed it was bad and made every attempt to correct to our satisfaction. For that I'm grateful.

Muay Thai Clinch: I currently work at 50floor. It’s a great place to work and I absolutely love my job. Not only can I help multiple customers in a day, but the management is there for you 24/7. Brennan Rudy: I have nothing good to say about this company except for the installation manager. I needed floors installed in my home before furniture was delivered, and the sales representative told me numerous times that they had the material in their warehouse and could install “right away”. I placed an $1800 deposit to reserve those materials and didn’t hear from the company for over 5 days when I was told I would receive a call by the end of the day to schedule installation. I called customer service, scheduling, and the installation department twice each day over those 5 days and was directed to voicemails each time. I left a total of 10 voicemails to different contacts at the company and only received a response from the installation manager, who essentially told me the sales rep lied that they had the material in stock, and that they would not have the materials until the day my furniture arrived. My original intent was to also have this company complete the flooring throughout the top floor of my house later this year, although I will not do so considering the horrible experience I’ve dealt with. I still have no installation date scheduled, so the company basically just took my money and ran with it. The whole point of me paying a company to do this job was so I could have it done quickly, but I wish I would’ve just installed it myself at this point. Too bad they’ve already wasted a week of my time that could’ve been spent either doing it myself or hiring someone else.

Frazier Richmond: So I had an ordeal with this company where the sales representative after purchase refused to take my calls. Then after six days, the install manager finally called. I explained to him that I had an older house and that I wanted to make sure that my floors were leveled after the install. Welll now, because of the installers lack of experience the floors are no longer flat because they don't have the support underneath the new floor. This is one of the topics of concern I had with the install mgr and he reassured that the install would last and be a professional job. THE INSTALL WASN'T PROFESSIOANL AND I WOULD GIVE THEM A ZERO, IF I COULD. I don't recommend them at all!!

Zina Morris: This company completes floors in one day but the quality of service was terrible. They placed a hole behind the stove we found out while cleaning behind it. Some of the hardwood floor slats have gaps (6 months) not acceptable. The bathroom bowl wasn't placed back correctly. They were supposed to replace the trim around the fire place not completed to date. Not truly a bargain. Everything is rushed, not a professional service. Go with a company that takes their time foe quality.

M B: Very unprofessional. Installed some planks that didn't match. . Don't want to fix the issue spoke with three managers no resolution to the problem. There were planks left Leftovers that could of matched BETTER. Never use them again or refer them to anyone. I'm still not going to let them RIP me off.

Alexandra Gilbert: I have never had a more negative experience with a company in my entire life. My fiancé contacted this company last Thursday to inquire about the installation of flooring in our town home. A sales representative assured us that installation could occur on Wednesday or Thursday of this week prior to the arrival of new furniture and on days when my fiancé works virtually and could be home. The sales representative also said we would be contacted by the installation manager by the end of the day that Thursday or by Friday. We paid a deposit to reserve the materials, which the sales representative said were in the warehouse. We never heard from anyone. My fiancé spent days calling and texting the sales representative, the installation manager, customer service, and more people only to be transferred to voicemail every single time. He was not able to get through to anyone until this Tuesday, when he was told that installation would not be possible this week like we were promised due to unavailable materials. Wait, I thought they were in the warehouse. My fiancé endured continued struggles that day and in desperation, accepted that we would have to wait until next week and adjust all of our furniture and work plans. My fiancé left a negative Google Review here and received a call from the General Manager soon after. He had left dozens of voicemails with other employees without a response, but a negative Google Review was the only thing that worked…so here I am. The General Manager said the company has been changing their phone system (?). I don’t find that to be an acceptable excuse for the abhorrent lack of communication we endured, especially for a corporation of this size. Additionally, he insisted that this was a miscommunication - perhaps my fiancé just misunderstood. Not the case. We believe we were lied to or that the truth was stretched. I’m not sure how one could confuse what we were told by the sales representative. However, we thought things were moving in the right direction when the General Manager made sure the work could be done today (Friday). Interesting…we thought the materials were not available. The General Manager also told us he would call to check in after it was done. This did not happen. He also said he would call about potential discounts. We’ll come back to that. Installers were in our home from 8:30 am until after 7 pm, and my fiancé had to take the day off from work. They never explained any payment procedures to us until they were walking out the door and asking for a check. We asked to pay with card, but the installers’ phones were dead. We had to frantically move money around our accounts to pay. My fiancé and I attempted to contact the General Manager and left angry voicemails. He eventually called my fiancé back and insisted that he had said he’d call us “IF” he could do anything about discounts - we didn’t hear from him because he could not. Again, interesting, and quite unprofessional. In talking to both my fiancé and me, James, the General Manager, was defensive and almost accusatory, insisting that the communication issues were somehow our fault. My fiancé and I both adamantly believe in working with sales people and companies in a collaborative and respectful manner; we don’t typically believe that “the customer is always right”. However, in this case, we have to part from our ways. The unprofessionalism, unkindness, inconsideration, and inconsistency of this company is alarming. We have been nothing but communicative and respectful and have only been mistreated. We were taken advantage of and inconvenienced in a way that is infuriating and devestating. We demand to be treated correctly. This company needs to make things right with us in some capacity, even if that is simply through a partial refund for a discounted price. If that is not done, we intend to file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau on the following grounds, as listed online: misleading or false advertising, deceptive sales practices, billing problems, and failure to follow through with oral and written promises.

K S: Very frustrated with my experience and treatment, which is sad because they have done wonderful work for my family and a couple of friends. I contacted them to do my bathroom floors. After the measurement, I did have to remind them to get me the quote, so I figured they are very busy and overworked. Once I got the quote I was pretty happy with the pricing. I however decided against the color I chose and asked if they had anything else in light grey. I was told he would get back to me once he talked to the manufacturer. A couple of days go by and radio silence. I was just followed up and was sent the same link to the same products I was originally sent. No attempt to help me find what I wanted or needed at all. I reiterated I was looking for light grey and that I did not see that in the link provided. I then attached a photo to THEIR Instagram of floors I liked and stated I wanted the floors pictured. I'm told they don't do ceramic flooring and they don't have what I'm looking for. I reminded him again it's from THEIR Instagram and these are vinyl floors not ceramic (per their caption). I also asked if they don't install these floors why is it on their Instagram as available. Silence. So very very frustrating to have my time wasted. I would have appreciated any attempt to help me find what I need, get back to me on time, or care about the project. Sadly I did not find that here and I'm back at square one. This is on top of them not removing toilets or vanities when they work on bathrooms. You must hire someone else to remove and install the toilet which I've found is not common with other companies.

Linda Wong: I am so grateful i got a chance to work with Dave, Eric, Will and Richard. First, like most homeowners, i spent a bit of time looking for a flooring company to repair flooring and subfloor, sand, varnish my floors and redo shoe molding. I found Friends and Family flooring's prices are competitive but reasonable and clear. Dave listed the prices for each item of work that will be done and he is very very good at setting proper expectations. I was always given clear answers to my questions and when Dave didn't know, he sent his foreman, Eric, to explain. Second, their communication skills have made this process extremely easy. I understood the entire process from scheduling to how the floors will be redone from beginning to end before they even started the job. They also gave me time to choose stain colors and see the samples of the stain on my floors.

Chuck Hassenplug: Our floors look beautiful and brand new. Jose and crew did a great job and answered all of our questions. They protected and sanded around a painted area, did nice job on our original pine floor steps, and they even replaced a high doorway jam between our dining and sunroom to prevent tripping. We are very satisfied and would highly recommend Friends & Family Flooring.

Rob Hyde: Ruben and his team did an amazing job for us. We wanted two different floors sanded and finished with two different colors of Rubio Monocoat. Ruben and team applied samples of six colors on both floors. This really helped us decide on a color. They then completed the work over 3 days and the floors are magnificent. They KNOW how to do Rubio Monocoat. We will definitely be asking Brazilian Floors to do our future flooring jobs. Very professional, trustworthy and skilled.

Barre: Brazilian Floors was recommended to us by a NWFA Certified inspector after another company totally botched the installation of over 2000' of white oak flooring in our newly renovated home. From our first meeting with their sales representative Kevin Petrie, to the Final walkthrough with their Quality Control Inspector, The entire team of Brazilian Floors employees exhibited a high level of experience and professionalism. Our hardwood floors now look absolutely fantastic! Our only regret is that we did not hire them in the first place. If you looking to refinish or install new flooring, We highly recommend Brazilian floors for your project!

Joao Pereira: In 2012, I contacted Brazilian-Floors to redo my hardwood floors. A sales person came to our house and not only help me choose the proper wood stain color that would make my house look better, but also suggested some things that I didn't think of (like air vents, we had some metal ones, and they told us that some wood ones integrated in the floors would look better... and they were right... I get comments from everyone that comes to the house). I requested for the work to start 2 days later, they accepted. The crew came and sealed my living room, dining room and Kitchen from the rest of the house with plastic in order to block any dust to go to the rest of the house. I got home that evening and could not believe how nice the floors looked. They had to go there the next day to finish applying the stain. I am really pleased with the worked that was done, the professionalism of the sales person and Work crew. I was looking for their address and phone number to give to a family member and saw the 3 previous reviews and I could not understand these comments as the experience that I had was the complete opposite. shari belill: From the moment I called and Nikki answered, she was wonderful! I couldn't look at carpet due to my travel schedule and Nikki knew exactly what was in my budget and what I would like. She NAILED IT! I had a tight timeline and she met it and Alejandro was on time and installed the carpet in a few hours and it looks amazing! It is so soft and the color is perfect! Jeremy came by to check on things and what a great crew this store has! Highly recommended!

T S: UPDATED after owners answer: The issue is not about a back order - it is about the lack of customer service which, at the begging , was exceptional as I stated. I felt welcome as a customer, was given updates, and was given responses in a day at most. That changed. It feels like you were sure with the business so why to keep trying hard and well, right? A small additional project is not worth the same good customer service to Parsa and your team obviously. Please, do not lie about you guys following up. I was the one who had to message after promising on following up & was left without any response - see updated photo I just added & am sure I could find me trying to reach Parsa via phone calls, too. There were no voice messages left! When I could not reach him, and called main office number you could not even locate our order at first. I loved the material and installation on that day; however, I messaged several days after to tell you about the issues described here. I said we can repair it once you guys come again (it was noted on our account) - and everyone agreed. Sadly, after stating we no longer want to do business with you because of lack of interest from your side, Parsa was super quick to response but never stated anything about sending his workers to repair the issues. ORIGINAL POST: At the beginning, I was very impressed with the professionalism of Parsa & his team. That changed after they were done with the first project. We wanted to cover additional area right away - were told about back stock (understandable). We did not hear any updates for months. I was calling Parsa just to ask how the things are going, leaving emails and texts which were read but I have never received response. When called the main number, they transferred me to him & he was doing like he was just not ignoring me for months. We decided to cancel our order because I was very disappointed with the change of behavior from this company. To add to this, see for yourself how our luxury vinyl does not go all the way to wall on one place (which is pretty visible) & the carpet also has couple issues (such as the transitions & they did not level the flooring well before putting the carpet so on one place you can feel a “hole” when you walk on it) - quality of carpet is also not very good… Sadly, I would not recommend this company (even though the pricing was fair).
Response: We have been following up often with the ETA for the additional product but unfortunately per our supplier the material is still on back order with no estimated time of arrival. We try our best to meet our customer's timelines. Contrary to T.S. We made and left several VM updating information as it was given to us. In fact, she loved both the material and the installation, hence, adding more area. She came to our house to measure each room and help us with decisions about the layout of the floor. The price of flooring and installation was reasonable. Installer Mehdi and his colleague took up our old carpet and artfully laid down our new floor. It was a pleasure to work with this company and we would recommend it to anyone.

sscaronia: Eugenia was more than helpful and knowledgeable. At Carpet One, the carpet selection was such that I was able to find the perfect color, texture and grade. Eugenia explained about the installation while she took measurements and was very courteous and professional in addition to being most patient with all my questions/concerns. The installers arrived on time, they were experienced, friendly and "demonstrated an attention to detail". They cleaned up, vacuumed, and I was pleased at how well done and quickly the installation was performed. I would highly recommend Carpet One, Eugenia in sales and the contracted installers. Next time, for carpet or flooring, I will go directly to Carpet One in Alexandria, Va. 5 STARS from me !!!!!

She really went the extra mile to help me pick the nice carpet in my price range. Scheduling the installation went smoothly, and the installers did a great job. They went about their work diligently and did a flawless job. I would have given a 5 star rating except for the fact that there was a period of time between when I ordered the carpet and had it installed that I had no communication from them for several days. I had to call a couple of times to connect with someone to get an update. Like a key person was on vacation or something like that. In sum, it was a very positive experience and I highly recommend Alexandria Carpet One Floor & Home.

The whole team worked very hard to meet a challenging schedule so that we could move into our new home with new flooring and carpet. They were consistent with follow up and called to be sure all was well after installation. In fact, I needed to add shoe molding at the last minute, and they made it happen! Karolyn Tontarski: We are thrilled with the job Alexandria Carpet One Floor & Home did replacing carpet in three rooms of our townhome with beautiful hardwood! Every step of the process was easy, and we truly appreciated everyone we interacted with throughout the process taking steps to ensure our safety (and theirs) during this pandemic. Jim Collins came out to take the necessary measurements and walk us through what hardwood flooring options were available to us, enabling us to proceed with the project without having to go to the showroom. The two men who delivered the wood prior to installation so it could acclimate to our home environment were excellent and managed to get the 27 boxes of very heavy wood up to our third floor, in what appeared to be record time! The three man installation team was extraordinary. We quickly reviewed the parameters of the project with the team leader and then left them to it. While the company had allowed two days to complete the project, the installation team worked nonstop for 7 hours to get the job done rapidly. The installation team had to coordinate moving our larger pieces of furniture as they worked (as per our contract), which they clearly did with ease and great care. When the installation team left, all work areas were spotless!! We are already dreaming up another project for Alexandria Carpet One Floor & Home to help us with - we cannot thank them enough for being so sensitive to our COVID concerns throughout the process and for doing such an amazing job with the installation of the hardwood floors. They are perfect:-) Oh, and I would be remiss if I did not mention how friendly and polite everyone we dealt with was.

Dee F.: A great flooring store! For ancarpet store the variety is rather expansive. It not only has a great selection of carpets but also has a pretty good selection of wood and vinyl floors. Their pricing is pretty average in the field and their staff is friendly. Definitely recommend checking out what this flooring store has to offer.

Shimon Prohow: Louis has replaced floors both on our main floor (in a hurry due to a pest issue) and upstairs (because the main floor looked so good). All the work was done proficiently, on budget, and in a clear and organized manner. There were no up-sale games and Louis was easy to reach and quick to answer any questions and anxieties. His team fixed any surprise issues that arose with ease. And everything looks great!

Dawn Terminella: My brother recommended Beaulieu Floors to me and I couldn't be happier with the results! From the owner to the crew, everyone was professional and hard working. The crew realized the first day the subfloor was going to take a lot more work to get up and Louis made sure to add help so they could get the job done as quickly as possible. Louis reached out soon after I contacted his team online and arranged an initial consultation. He spent a good length of time with me discussing the various issues with my floors and my goals for the finished product. In a way we became partners in the process. The project was finished within a few days, exactly as promised and Louis followed up soon thereafter with an inspection of the work his team had completed. The team was very respectful of my home while refinishing the floors, too. The price is fair and the work was professional, quality, and got out every stain and issue I had pointed out in the initial consultation with Louis. Mary Ellen: This company is rather odd on the phone. First time I called, I was given an estimate appointment for three days later. With a two hour arrival window. They also said they could “do the work on the spot” after giving an estimate, if I so chose. They called me the day before the estimate and said they would need to reschedule to the following week and that they were mistaken in telling me they could do the work on the spot. But still gave a two hour arrival window. No other companies I called for estimates gave two hour arrival windows. They all gave actual arrival times. I decided to go with another company before hardwood revival came for the estimate due to the long wait to get an appointment and the unfortunate two hour arrival window.

We called several carpet companies asking if they would cut and rebind the rug to fit the space. Because we had not purchased the rug from them, they were nit interested in the work. Ayoub was happy to do it and they did an excellent job. Their workmen moved heavy pieces of furniture to remove the rug and to put it back down. They were extremely careful and conscientious. John Kokorus: They did a nice job installing new hardwood floors in our guest bedroom. They were very quick. Contract was signed Friday, wood delivered Monday, work on Thursday to Sat. One week start to finish. My main issue is we tried to match the color to our existing hardwood floors and it was a miss. I now have a room with hardwood significantly lighter than the hallway. When I reached out to them they said not much they can do. They are very communicative during the sales process and quieter after the contract is signed. There were a few spots that could use fixing the company never replied back to me on after I sent pics. For new hardwood installation I would recommend them for their speed and fair pricing. Candice: Before and after pictures- Our dining room hardwood floors had been covered with 3 layers of sticky vinyl for probably 30+ years. Many places looked at our floors and didn’t think they were worth repairing or wanted to charge an arm and a leg for it. Elegant came in and gave us a good price, said they would beat competitors, and that they could get it done soon. All of that was correct. Within days they came in, got it done, and now we have wonderful dining room floors. Those guys really knew what they were doing. Dianne King: We hired this company to do hardwood floor sanding and refinishing. The gentleman who came to review the project was extremely engaging and professional. After signing the contract and the work began, the quality of the relationship and interactions with the company significantly changed. The men doing the work initially did two of the five rooms. We were told that they would return the following afternoon to replace the furniture in those two rooms. They did not show up and no reasonable explanation was provided. After the work was completed, I noticed a small splintered area in one of the rooms. I believe this was done by the heavy sanding machine because the referenced area was covered by an area rug (for years) with an ottoman sitting on top of the rug. I called the company to inquire about a product or filler that could be used inasmuch as the area was so small. I also sent a picture of the area. The information sheet provided by the company addressed splintered boards so my call was to get the name of a specific product that perhaps we could use. My photo and request for follow up was forwarded to Steve (owner). He responded, in part, that they would not undertake repairs that were not called out in the proposal unless we inspected the floors after the sanding and agreed to an upcharge. I had no problem with the company's position in this regard. The problem that I had was the intractable position that the owner took in the final statement of his email to me that "We certainly didn't create it" referring to what he called a "defect' in the floor. I responded that this was not an issue with this particular floor for the reasons stated above. I also questioned his insistence that they did not cause the issue because he was not on site. I asked again for the name of a product if he knew of one. Otherwise, I would ask a professional. His response was to "consult a professional" noting that he only had 18 years of experience. He did not provide the name of a product. The owner apparently took issue with my saying that I would ask a "professional" about a product. Apparently, he is of the opinion that doing a job for a number of years is all that is required of a professional. Behaving in a civil and courteous manner is inherent in being a professional. I was disappointed by my interactions with the owner throughout this project. I found him unduly inflexible and completely lacking in the most rudimentary of customer service skills.

Mark Bucher: I will remove this if they do the right thing. but our floors are worse then before they started. Matter of fact we still have floor boards missing. To be fair our floors apparently were close to their end of life, however they assured me we had 2 sandings left. After one sanding our floors are ruined and now need to be completely replaced. Had thy told us that from the start we would have made a different call on what to do, now need to move out and move animals out and start again on an overall very messy process. Be careful, very careful with this group their crews are subcontractors not employees of the company. I now have to fond another company to take care of this as they are dodging us . Sassy Sauce: Great discounts on Christmas items as part of the holiday sale. I picked up Christmas stockings for under $5.00. There were fire pits on clearance as well. I like this location and they generally have the items I’m in need of for repairs or decorations, etc. The staff is very helpful as well.

Stuart Miles-McLean: I don't like all the self check out lines which are killing jobs. They did have things I was looking for in the wild bird and critter section, but it appears they need more employees -- all over the store -- to keep the inventory organized and properly shelved and labeled. The employees I did encounter were very helpful and friendly; it just looked like they need more of them.

Kev- keepingitreal: This location offers a variety of affordable items for your home improvement needs. I really appreciate the staff in the aisle for assisting me with finding items on my check list. At check out the cashier was welcoming and friendly. This store was very clean and offers plenty of parking.

Jessica Fullington: Today I went to the garden center for some outside plants. Yolanda was so very helpful! She was able to answer my questions, she even went and got me a cart so that it was easier for me to get the items I purchased to my car. It is so refreshing to have people who are pleasant and helpful at their jobs I will definitely come back to this location to get all the plants I need this spring! Marla was very helpful as well along with the young man who answered some of my questions about my plans. All around a wonderful experience!

goklt: Lots of materials here. Check out was fast. However good luck asking for assistance. Lots of associates are walking around but not helping customers. I tracked an employee down for assistance in moving materials from a high shelf to store level in the door section. He called two times for assistance to my aisle but no one came and he advised going to customer service. They called and still no help. Had to track somone down in a different department altogether. Crazy.

Chase Johnson: The employees here are courteous. But the wood cutting service they claim to offer is not available when needed. The store should just be candid that wood cutting won’t be available (or at the very least won’t be available at any specific time). I am a local DIYer (not a contractor). Before I bought wood I asked about cutting and was told it was no problem—buy it and then request a cut. I did. I was then told the lumber associate wasn’t available for an hour. I couldn’t get the wood (a single sheet of plywood I needed to cut in half) into my car, so I waited. After an hour, there was still no lumber associate, so the wood was never cut.

N R: Terrible customer service. Returning an item took 3 months of repeated calls to schedule a pickup and even when Lowe's had the item back multiple calls were needed to secure the refund. Such a hassle, so worth avoiding! The third party delivery service that they use doesn't turn up in the agreed time slots so it's very easy to miss them and then get stuck in the web of calls that are required to reschedule.

Annie Signorelli: I ordered a dishwasher with professional installation and the process from start to finish was completely nontransparent and unprofessional. The installation had to be rescheduled because the dishwasher wasn’t pulled down for pick up in time, and then when it was installed it was the incorrect dishwasher — not even the right brand. After several hours on the phone with the Lowes installation line, including being told multiple times that they couldn’t advance the process because they couldn’t get in touch with anyone at their own Lowes store, I called the store directly and was able to sort it out and get the installation rescheduled. A Lowes associate later told me that they don’t have the “luxury” of waiting on hold with the store which is what I had to do in order to ensure my order was completed. Finally the correct dishwasher was installed on the third attempt and I was told I could contact the installation line again to discuss compensation for the inconvenience. Again it took multiple attempts to even get an update on where my case stood, despite being told every time that I should expect a call back “by end of business” every day I called. When I finally got offered compensation it was for less than half of the amount I requested (I requested the installation service be refunded seeing as it took 3 attempts and I was the one having to set everything up because Lowes did not follow through). While I am satisfied with the product I am in disbelief at how difficult and unprofessional the process was with Lowes. I do not recommend purchasing appliances from installation from this store or using the Lowes installation services.

Conchita Coney: Excellent but one of the employees didn't know what he was talking about whereas getting parts for a 2019 torro self-repellent lawn mower. He told my husband and I to go to store name Grainger on MD 202 they are either closed or permanently shut down.

Elizabeth Ramming: Assistance was top notch!! The gentlemen working there were very polite and helped me a lot with specific questions. HOWEVER-- However, I needed lumber, a 1X6 piece. What they had in stock was WET. But oh! I found 2 dry pieces at the bottom. But alas, don't be happy for me. Those pieces were warped in both directions - both along the length and width. That's it. So, shut up and buy it, or fight DC traffic to go someplace else. Both of those options were the absolute WORST. Why was the wood wet amd warped?? ... Duhhh. How utterly stupid.

Grace Wang: Buyers be aware! We purchased more than $3000 tiles from the Alexandria branch through our builder’s account last summer. Our tile contractor helped us to return approximately $1600 value tiles due to an inexperienced selection we made. The size we picked would be too big for our master bath and caused a lot of waste. The F&D store employees accepted our tiles, but failed to provide a return receipt to the contractor. When I verified the construction spending and noticed Floor and Decor never made a refund to our builder. We reached out to the store, and the store employees told us the store never got the tiles. When our builder followed up with the store, the store manager and account manager only agreed to be responsible for $800. However, they told my builder that he needs to make another big purchase in order to get this $800 as a discount to his next purchase order. My builder followed the agreement and made another $40k purchase, but still couldn’t get the $800 back. The store manger was just fooling my builder, but never wanted to take any responsibility. Now, my construction has been finished, but my construction loan still can’t be closed due to Floor and Decor’s poor management and irresponsible customer service. As a first time customer to Floor and Decor, I want to share this negative experience with the public and urge this tile company be honest to your customers. Fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice, you will lose your business forever!

Jessica Smith Brown: I just had a FANTASTIC experience here. I needed a lot of help to unload a (very heavy) product I was returning and buy a new one to replace it, and I had my (screaming) baby with me. I could never have pulled it off without the amazing help and expertise of the associates here, who did everything from helping me unload the old product from my car, helping me buy and load the new one, finding the right quarter-round to match, and even watching my baby while I unloaded stuff. Elyse M: This is the most incompetently managed retail store I've ever been to. I say this having done multiple home projects purchasing from (a different) F&D and LOVE this brand. Every time we come in this store, there are multiple (3-7) employees standing around the entrance just socializing. They can't be bothered to help you, check anyone out, nothing--even while lines of customers get longer.

The experience was more than pleasant and being assisted by a very courteous young man by the name of Carlos, made it that much more pleasurable. He helped to load our vehicle alone, which seemed like a lot but he reassured us that he had it all under control. After the last bit of tile was loaded, he made sure we were ok with how it was loaded, smiled and told us to be safe and a very good day. Adam Hartman: What you see isn't always what you get! Samples from the floor looked great. Purchased those and an additional 5 boxes of it. Boxes were previously opened, but were seemingly complete. Start opening all the boxes to see that they were starting to look very different from the floor samples. Very homogeneous and dull compared to the 5 originals. See the photos below. Group on right is from the floor. Maybe someone had a big job, picked all the good ones and returned a few boxes of the rejects. Check your boxes thoroughly!

Ryan Miller: I purchased flooring for my home. Paid for and everything. Without consent they put it back for sale and sold it to another customer (after several trips to the store carefully selecting what I wanted). Then my product was out of stock except for one store two hours away whereupon I have to go pick it up myself (they won't send it to my store) or pay for shipping...I'm thankful I got a verbal apology, however a discount (or at least waiving the shipping fee) seems the right thing to do.

QBZ OG: This is the worst organization to work with for things as expensive as projects. They are worse than any big box store I have EVER been to. I dare you to try and call them. Just call them and see if they ever answer. I paid them money and they still havent picked up the phone in 3 days! Correction, they pick up and put me on hold, or they immediately HANG UP ON ME! They HUNG UP ON ME 4 TIMES today!!! I've been calling them for 2 Hrs now! This is absolutely unacceptable and they don't deserve any new customers. Absolutely the worst example set by these goons that don't even know about the products they are selling.
