Secondi Inc: what do users think?
Sophie Jylan
Sophie Jylan: My first time going to a consignment shop, and i had a great time! Everything was organized and there was a great selection of clothes and accessories. The shop was very cute, and i loved the feel of the small second story shop. Fitting rooms are open too. Prices are reasonable and the staff was very friendly. Will definitely be making this a regular stop in the future.
Response: Thank you for your review Sophie! We wish you a wonderful summer! Secondi
V W
V W: I’ve been a long time customer of this establishment. Sadly, I shall not return. I experienced suboptimal customer service in the earshot of management. When I approached management to remedy the situation, I was unapologetically told that the staff member’s words were justified, “It was in the hearing and not the saying.” I don’t need an interpreter. I hear you loud and clear. Preemptive accusations and dismissing my perspective as a customer are simply unacceptable.
Response: Hello VW, We're sorry to hear you didn't have an enjoyable experience at Secondi, but we thank you for your feedback. We acknowledge that while we try to offer excellent customer service at all times, there is always room for improvement and will work among the staff to make sure this doesn't happen again. We wish you a wonderful summer season, Secondi
Leslie Williston
Leslie Williston: this place was nice but more expensive than i thought. i am more the type for cheap thrift stores so this wasn’t my jam. it was clean and well organized.
Response: Hello Leslie, Thank you for your feedback! We do our best to make sure the shop is clean and organized so your kind words mean a lot to us. We are sorry to hear you didn't have success on your shopping quest with us, but we hope you come back soon! Have a great summer, Secondi
Pook Trinh
Pook Trinh: They do have nice items, some of them are reasonably priced. However, the service is not great in comparison to similar businesses in the area. They have a deal whenever you spent more than $500 in one transaction, you will get $25 coupon to use next visit within the next 3 months. I found out after I just spent about $440, any efficient employee/merchant would have suggested a customer to spend some more to get $25 coupon. If the customer said no, nothing to loose, but failing to do so, it’s a loose-loose situation. I left unhappy, they could have get me to buy some more today, and the next time I come back to use the $25 coupon I’d would spend more then, as well. I guess they don’t really care since they already have lots of business going on. Several years ago, the owner/manager with her old team were much more friendly, but the new team are ok, doing their job ok, no more no less.
Response: Hello Pook, Thank you for your feedback! We do our best to respond quickly to reviews, however Google didn't notify us of yours and so we apologize for the delay. I understand about the 500 Club Card, and we will do our best to make this more well-known to customers in the future. Our goal is to never push customers into spending more money, but I can see how us telling you about the 500 Club Card would have been welcome information. We hope you visit us again soon, and in the meantime have a wonderful summer! Secondi
Alyssa Cooper
Alyssa Cooper: This place is the single best thrift/consignment shop I’ve ever visited. They carry a variety of designer and high-quality pieces. Go early in the morning when the shop first opens for the best selection and service…it’s gets super busy on weekends and evenings.
Lori Penix
Lori Penix: I stumbled on this store while traveling from Los Angeles. I absolutely LOVE this place. Great items at prices that work well for me. I will keep in touch. ❤️
Response: Thank you for your kind words. Your review made our day! We look forward to seeing you in the future. Thank you, Secondi
Maya Mosley
Maya Mosley: They sell a lot of broken clothing and accessories (completely broken that you cannot wear) for a “luxury consignment” store, and do not allow returns. Watch what you buy.
Response: Hello Maya, Thank you for your feedback. We do our best to make sure all items are in excellent condition before we put them out on the floor or mark them as-is if the wear or marks are very minor, but we acknowledge that we occasionally may miss damage when we first accept an item. If you notice an item that is not in its best condition, please feel free to bring it to our attention so we can pull it off our sales floor! Thank you, and have a great summer, Secondi

Samantha Varney
Samantha Varney: An amazing gem! A must stop if you are a vintage shopper. They have the largest selection of items and the staff is so friendly.
Araminta Watson
Araminta Watson: Some great finds!! Lovely store
Mary bradshaw
Mary bradshaw: I have had wonderful luck finding gowns and cocktail dresses for special occasions. The owner, after listening closely to my wishes and tastes, always manages to pull something elegant from her extensie inventory. Most recently, my great find was a designer cocktail suit still proffering its tags. It had never been worn..I received many compliments.
Denise
Denise: Such a great store! The pieces are really chic, stylish, unique and high quality. The owner is super amazing, welcoming and kind! Her customer service is unbeatable. A must-go shop in Georgetown!
Sarah Ruehle
Sarah Ruehle: You HAVE to come to this place. The clothes here are gorgeous, classic, quality, and reasonably priced! Holly Golightly would def shop here for her style, for perspective. The owner is kind and helpful and lovely. This is a must for consignment shoppers with classic style!
Kayla Aburida
Kayla Aburida: hidden gemPretty chic is one of a kind. you will find so many unique beautiful pieces in the shop. highly recommend, especially to those searching for thrift stores around D.C.
Maeve Lopez
Maeve Lopez: this store was so nice!! there is a beautiful garden in the back that had a bunch of pretty clothes and there are also beautiful pieces of jewelry upfront.
Zeynep Kocabal
Zeynep Kocabal: I absolutely love Pretty Chic! When you enter this store, you will think that you have found your long lost friend from High School. The owner has such a nice personality, and she goes out of her way to make everyone welcomed. The selection is wonderful, and one never can guess what one will find. All styles are current and in great condition. I would recommend this store a million times over. The owner’s customer service and high quality items, make Pretty Chic my favorite store in Georgetown.
Aria Johnson
Aria Johnson: Came here with my sister 2 weeks ago and it was our first time thrifting. Absolutely fell in love with this shop. Very nice pieces for great prices!!

Abbey Linsk
Abbey Linsk: This place is a gem! I stop by whenever I can to see what they have. They carry great brands -- everything from J.Crew to St. John! I got a classic red Burberry dress from here for just $80! Store is clean and employees are just lovely!
Bart Zwaard
Bart Zwaard: A wonderful store staffed by lovely people. There is always something fantastic to find in this consignment shop. I love their jewelry selection and it is my go to spot for finding gifts for my wife. Everyone at the counter is so helpful and they really take the time to help find the perfect item you are looking for.
Response: Thank you!!! We love helping people find the perfect gift!!
Julia Beatty
Julia Beatty: This place is truly a gem in the middle of the Eastern Market area. They have a huge variety of consignment items in wonderful shape, lots to browse! On my first visit there, I found a pair of Cole Haan nude flats for only $10! Will definitely be back to shop again soon.
Response: Thank you so much Julia!!! Enjoy your cute shoes!!!
Karen Petersen Finch Whitworth University
Karen Petersen Finch Whitworth University: I try to stop by here once a week. I have made great finds for reasonable prices! There is a range available from designer down to more basic (Clark’s shoes for 20.00). The buyers have a great sense of quality and style. Merchandise moves through more quickly than in some small stores. But best of all are the women who work and shop there. They lift my spirits every time.
Response: Thank you!!!!
Deb B
Deb B: Great store! I often consign there and usually get a fair price for my items. Gayle and her team are always very nice although they get busy during certain hours. I have found a lot of really unique items there I will treasure forever. Like any other consignment store sometimes inventory is amazing, and other times it’s just OK. But that’s the reason to keep going back.
Response: Thank you Deb B - weekends can be very busy - and we always wish we had more dressing rooms!!!

Frugalista: what do users think?
Blessing Okafor
Blessing Okafor: Amazingly cute items for a pretty reasonable price!!! I bought 11 items for about $75, and that included sweaters (many are currently discounted for $4.99 + tax each) and a cute pair of Marc Fisher sandals. Highly recommend to check out!!
Leslie Williston
Leslie Williston: Good place for some good finds! Pretty cheap clothes. In a basement so it kind of looks fake but i promise it’s real. employees were really friendly.
P B
P B: I love Frugalista - satisfies my “shoppy” urge and I can’t even calculate the money I’ve saved. Very little is beyond $20. Not that it’s so important lately, but I’ve gotten a lot of really good quality work clothing especially there! Also found a lot of great Boden clothing, which makes me happy. Plus every single pair of shorts I own, from nicer ones to super casual (all $7)! And the people who work there are also really nice.
Response: 🙌🏽
Crystal Banks
Crystal Banks: Cool name but Based on that name I thought I would be getting variety and a deal. Nope. I paid $10 for 3 T-shirts. My favorite thrift store shirts are $1- $3. One shirt here is $4.99 + tax 😒 Everything was just drab. There were some prom dresses and lots of mens clothes and dress shoes. Ultimately, this is a pricey thrift store the size of a DC (city) basement. With matching DC parking for a business😥 I feel like I got duped but I was the one who wanted to "check it out". The staff speaks mostly Spanish but did greet me kindly when I came in. There are fitting rooms and a seamstress. Oddly, for a second hand store, they were accepting unwanted pantry foods but... It was all sitting in a box right outside the store🤔🙄🙃
Tristana Fiscella
Tristana Fiscella: Fun spacious second hand store that you can get lost in for an hour or two listening to the radio. Bring a tape measure and hone in on measurements, cut and color instead of Brand hype and Size label madness. NOT a thrift store and the prices reflect that. They pay rent, employees and keep on keeping on after many years in the neighborhood. Besides, you may come across practical, well-made clothing at a reasonable price or at the very least walk out smug & virtuous, w. your Green Fashion ideals fulfilled for the day.
Response: 🙌🏽
Keri Panatier
Keri Panatier: Fun small thrift store! Many great finds - coats, shoes, accessories

Current Boutique: what do users think?
Lauren Hoffman
Lauren Hoffman: Great consignment shop! Have only visited to shop, not to sell, but am very impressed by the quality and curation of clothing within. Also appreciate that they organize by size and have abundant, well-lit fitting rooms. Wish they had more accessories and jewelry, and found that they had something like a 10:1 ratio of tops to bottoms, which was odd? But really fun to browse.
Response: Laura - thanks so much for shopping with us and posting a review. Yes, curating our pieces is a BIG deal for us and we believe it helps our shoppers find exactly what they're looking for. Also, we're always on the hunt for great accessories and we have a hard time keeping them around when we get them. Check back again soon as new gems arrive daily. Take care ~ Carmen
Gemma Ni
Gemma Ni: I consigned several items here and I regret doing so. It has been almost 4 months but none of my item was sold, including a pair of Eileen Fisher pants, a silk scarf and a necklace. All in pretty good condition. I started to read reviews online and realized they donate unsold items fairly quickly. I simply don’t want my designer pieces to be donated. If I knew the sales didn’t move, I would never choose Current Boutique. Even if set the slow sales aside, I am also suspicious of the check-offline-status-online business mode. Unlike the completely online consignment, the status of store sales cannot be monitored. I don’t know if no one buys them or it is payout delay.
Response: Gemma - thanks for reaching out and providing your feedback. For starters, please make sure you have access to your online account to check item status and receive updates. If you need help accessing your account, please contact us at https://currentboutique.com/pages/customer-service. I checked your account and you are correct that your pieces have not moved yet. We hope to move your three items shortly and will continue to attempt to sell them on your behalf. Take care - Carmen
Marie Eichholtzer (Marieichho)
Marie Eichholtzer (Marieichho): Great to have a second hand shop with current brands and not only vintage clothes. Always great finds.
Response: Marie - love the review! Having a current, curated selection is why I started CB 16 years ago. Please come back again soon. Take care ~ Carmen
A S
A S: Did not honor their own refund policy.
Jason Vieira
Jason Vieira: Totally overpriced. Charging $16 for SHEIN tops that are literally $4 brand new. Not consignment. You won’t be saving money here
Response: Jason - thanks for sharing your experience. We are constantly reviewing our pricing to ensure the best value for our customers and highest return for our consignors. We'll take a look... Take care ~ Carmen
Kia Johnson
Kia Johnson: During a recent stop, my first ever visit at the store, I walked in and was informed the store has a policy of keeping shopping bags at the front counter. I hesitantly walked to the counter to check my bags from other stores then was told they also needed to hold my handbag behind the counter. I have never been asked to surrender my handbag to a stranger to hold while I shop at any store, much less a consignment store. I told her that was a step too far and retrieved my other bag and left the store. Another associate told me it was very common for stores to hold bags and handbags. I have never, and will not never surrender my purse to shop. The irony is they don’t trust me to shop without stealing items, but I should trust them to hold my handbag. This was my first and last visit.
Response: Kia - thanks so much for visiting the store. Thanks also for your honest review. We are truly sorry to make you feel uncomfortable. That was not our intent. Since we reopened our stores, we have been beset with shoplifting attempts. Due to social distancing, to keep our staff safe we've instituted the policy regarding large bags behind the counter. The policy is universal and applied to all customers. We are aware some shoppers are not comfortable with this policy but until conditions change we must err in the direction of staff safety. COVID-19 has been super tough on us. We need customers like you to survive. We hope you'll give us a second shot. Thanks - Carmen

Alice E. Ridgway
Alice E. Ridgway: Not only do you get great deals at this location but the proceeds for some of the sales go to support Walter Reed. But be prepared, this is not just your regular consignment shop. All of the clothes are top brand high end so even a discount is not inexpensive.
Wilma Jones
Wilma Jones: I have used this store a couple of times and I always get just what I need. I am an African American woman with natural hair and both times Inga greeted me warmly, guessed my size, asked what I was looking for and helped me find it! Love this store.

Lauren de Vlaming
Lauren de Vlaming: Showed up at 10:30 when the shop opens and no one was there. Waited for 10 minutes in the cold and eventually left. Not worth the trip or the parking.
Ell Powers
Ell Powers: Awww... I love how I found this awesome Vintage gowns for like 50 bucks. Also got blouses and silk long night gowns that my hubby loves and say I look like a 1950s beautiful sexy movie star
Karina Valverde
Karina Valverde: Pricing is ok but the collection/selection is not exciting. It was a small shop and easy to browse through in 15 minutes (really!) but the clothes were not my style -- conservative. Maybe there next take-ins will better, I plan to stop by soon to see if any changes.
Kim Kennedy
Kim Kennedy: I love Sequels, my favorite consignment in DCA , I love Julie, your birthday , soon, great Ralph Lauren Classic , so great 💜julie
Johnna Raskin
Johnna Raskin: I found a ring for $18 that looks like a designer one! I have bought dresses, a hat and other items - love this store and the people who run it!

Rosario's Thrift Store: what do users think?
Liliana Angulo
Liliana Angulo: This store is HIDDEN GEM!!! A lot of name brands for great prices. They have awesome deals! $1 apiece racks and 3 pieces for $10 racks. I got a pair of like-new Vince Camuto wedges for just $3!!! They are very welcoming and friendly. They even greet repeat customers by their names. Highly recommended!!!
Amy Lawson
Amy Lawson: They only arrange garments by type, but not by size. Everything is all mixed together, so prepare to waste a lot of your time while you dig through the racks looking for your size. There are good quality brands due to the kinds of labels donated by the locals. Vince Camuto, Calvin Klein, Diane von Furstenberg were some of the labels I saw today.
Lolita Brogsdale
Lolita Brogsdale: My first time coming there....it was nice...clean and organized. I will be back again soon. You now have yourself a new customer....thank yoy for your customer service and your gratitude😊
Hangda Zhang
Hangda Zhang: [Updated] Just went recently. The owner is friendly and this place has a lot of clothes at affordable price. Make sure not to go last minute because this area doesn’t get much foot traffic and at the first time I went there the shop closed 30 minutes before the time listed on Google
Laur Tiv
Laur Tiv: I love Rosarios! They have some amazing brands like Tory Burch, lots of J. Crew, Vince Camuto, etc. I’ve found some amazing things there. Rosario herself is super nice and lethargic why I’m posting. Would love to keep her in business during these times of Covid! The only draw back to this store is that it’s small and you have to find on-street parking which can be difficult (it’s 16th st) but otherwise this is a hidden gem in DC!
Kristen Jarvis
Kristen Jarvis: I went in looking for a cheap top for a themed party (which I got for $1) & came out with a Columbia rainjacket and Patagonia fleece (for $25 total!). I was amazed at some of the brands & selection.

Response: Thank you for your review!
Karina Baumblit
Karina Baumblit: The people who work at the store are wonderful. Always willing to help and very accommodating. They have a nice verity for a small store and it is vell maintained.

Return policy is reasonable 7 days with receipt, and prime thrift members earn points use phone number to join Points adds to dollars off of next purchases. Good selection of coats and MENS wear. Large variety of plus size and plus size petite. My secret to stylish name brand dressing. Had a good shopping experience. Staff friendly prices clearly marked social distancing and mask required.

Donovan Phelps
Donovan Phelps: This store has a lot of good quality items available and at really good prices
Response: Thank you for your review!
Blaque Love
Blaque Love: Recently visited this lost gem that was super organized and well managed, but unfortunately I became frustrated by the style chosen to hang the clothes. Instead of the clothes organized by size as it used to be, they now just lazily hang them all together. I ended up leaving out pure frustration without purchasing anything. Super disappointed.

Henrry Palacios
Henrry Palacios: Visited this store for the first time today and had a great experience! Staff is very friendly and the option of clothes was great. I was able to purchase two pants at a reasonable price and both were in great condition!
Maddie A.
Maddie A.: Do NOT come here if you are looking for a large inventory or are in search of places to thrift. There are several other stores (such as REDDz) within a mile with much larger inventory and friendlier staff. When I tried to ask the owner (presumably) a genuine question about sales policies in the store, he answered my question in a manner so flip that it suggested I had asked him the most obvious thing ever. Additionally, this is not the place to be if you are looking for cleanliness. The store has a roaming cat and my mother had to step out after a couple minutes due to a reaction; there are other obvious signs of pet filth about. TLDR: this place is not worth your time no matter who you are.
Sherri LaRowe
Sherri LaRowe: Neat shop. Support a long-time local biz like this and score inexpensive deals that your closet will love. Its hard not to leave without something each time I visit. Just got a brand new Lilly Pulitzer dress (original tags still on it read $188) for $42. And a brand new Ann Taylor light pink work and fun appropriate skirt for $12 (still had original tags too!).
Sarah Kramer
Sarah Kramer: Although it’s a small store, they always have a great selection of both gently-used and new apparel and fabulous inexpensive jewelry. Today I found five spring dresses, an unworn pair of heels, and new earrings for an unbeatable price. This place is leagues above Poshmark and online consignment stores.
Sharon
Sharon: Went last week, it’s a small place but I feel that the selection is pretty good, especially for cute crops and jeans (compared to platos). I got some nike leggings for $8. I couldn’t find too much in my size (pants I’m about a 10-12 and I’m on the larger side). The people working were nice and checked up on us! Overall would recommend if you’re looking to find some thrifted pieces. (You apparently can sell your items here)
Amanda S
Amanda S: I’ve never had a pleasant experience at this store in the few times I’ve been over the course of 5 years. Racist, and unkind owner.
Jordana Coronel
Jordana Coronel: I had an appointment today at 5pm and I was rudely stopped by a sign that was written on a backwards envelope stating that they had an emergency. Unfortunately they had TWO missed UPS notices since yesterday on their door! So not only did the store not notify me of this emergency today but has had TWO days to notify and cancel appointments for this "EMERGENCY" lasting two days. This was the worst first impression I have ever had. Please have the courtesy to tell your customers that you will be CLOSED till further notice. I would have saved on GAS and TIME.
Response: Thank you for taking the time to write a review of our business. A medical emergency prevented us from being open for a period of several days. I didn't have anyone who could run the store in my absence so I had to close for several days. I would have done things differently if I had the personnel to run the shop in my absence. Sincerely, Derek Kennedy
ks ks
ks ks: Seem that the quality and service (new owners?) has changed. Much better at previous location. The guy was very rude about not wanting the items (didn’t even look at labels) which were 100% better than the offerings at the store - unappealing and very disorganized. Needs an upgrade and better service.
Response: Thank you for taking the time to write a review of our store. Sincerely, Derek Kennedy
Izzy Gieser
Izzy Gieser: Remix has a incredible selection of designer brands at a really affordable price. My friend bought two pairs of leggings for $22. The people are super friendly and there’s even a store cat named Sushi. I am thoroughly satisfied with my experience shopping here and would definitely come here again in the future.

Christ Child Opportunity Shop: what do users think?
Kurt LaRose MSW LCSW LICSW
Kurt LaRose MSW LCSW LICSW: The antiques and the finds here are wonderful. The staff, volunteers, care so much about the items. Here I am reminded of my grandparents dishes, jewelry, paintings, dishes, silver, metalurgy, pocket watches, rugs .... and the iron statutes are just phenomenal. Today I found a 10k gold rosary engraved from 1924 ... with a historical attention to detail that is awesome. The people working in the store celebrate the items as you look.
Response: Thank you Kurt! We're so glad we were able to help you find some beautiful items!
rebecca leigh
rebecca leigh: A lovely store with beautiful things. Sometimes a bit pricey. The service is excellent and warm.
Sandra Biedron
Sandra Biedron: Wow. Great place for vintage jewelry and everything else one needs for a home or office. Not only is everything repurposed but all proceeds go to children in the area that need help meeting their emotional needs. Found four rare Portmeirion pottery pieces as well as two pieces of vintage high-end jewelry. These were very fairly priced with the market. Excellent collection of dishes, silver, and crystal. Go there instead of doing a wedding registry! So much more green! Rock on Opportunity Shop - you made my heart happy today seeing things re-purposed! The place was packed!
Eric Rajendra
Eric Rajendra: The best antique and bric-a-brac store in all of DC. Our family in Georgetown has given thousands of dollars worth in contributions of our own antiques we no longer needed and then we bought thousands of dollars more in antiques we needed!! This place is a gem for us Washingtonians!! The volunteer staff members are truly precious and really dedicated!! They love their work and make the entire experience of browsing a joy. The second floor has great stuff so GO UP!! Jewelry, silverware, Asian antiques, porcelain, etc! You won’t be disappointed. You need to return weekly as new consignments and donations come all the time!! Trust me.
Response: Thank you so much, Eric!
Randolph Lopez
Randolph Lopez: Question the authenticity of the antiques and antiquities. Do not be misled. I was foolish enough to believe the descriptions that were displayed on the Asian pieces and the purity of some silver pieces that I purchased. I am not a seasoned collector. I only depend on the honesty of people; especially those associated with a “Christian” charity.
Tom Preston
Tom Preston: Prices are too high, often higher than the antiques shops in the neighborhood. No bargains unfortunately. And reductions are not per standard consignment shops- only 20% every 60 days instead of every 30 days. Not sure how they stay in business TBH.
Response: Thanks for the feedback, Tom. We host flash sales on our Instagram and Facebook every Monday with 20% off select items. You may find some bargains there!
A. Greenough Dodd
A. Greenough Dodd: Huge fan of this nonprofit consignment shop (aka The "Op Shop"!) that benefits the needs of DC area children. Always great finds, but definitely allow time to peruse the many items. Well-worth the search!
Response: Thanks for the kind words! We now have a Facebook and Instagram page where we highlight and feature different items. That may help you find some treasures! And yes we love our customers and their support of our mission of helping local mothers and babies in need!
Angela Van
Angela Van: Clean and organized decor consignment purchase structure (can see how the price drops by date). Always find something when I go in. Unfortunately, they just re-organized downstairs so the bulk is upstairs--no elevator.
Jonathan Fuhrman
Jonathan Fuhrman: Nice place for antiques. Everything has a date it came in and gets marked down every month. Prices are a bit high, but not outrageous.

Edward Parsons
Edward Parsons: My wife and I had a chance to visit FFF and was surprised to find that the store has a $35 full a bag sale next week. The clothes are in good condition and reasonably priced.
Cassia Morris
Cassia Morris: My boyfriend and I stopped in Fia’s 2.5 years ago or so to find some items for a costume. I can’t remember the owners name, but she was THE sweetest, nicest, and most helpful!!! We talked about where her son was going to school. We live in Alaska and I still think about our visit here. I hope the owner is well and the shop is doing good!!! Much love.
Clark Flynt-Barr
Clark Flynt-Barr: This place is packed! Lots of good finds - always fun to shop here.
Symea Johnson
Symea Johnson: Stopped by for the “fill a bag for $25” event. I had to control myself because I could of stayed all day and shifted thru all the bins and racks for clothing. Fia was actually present and her and the staff are genuinely good people All positive vibes in the air! Check her out you will not be disappointed 13items including dresses, skirts, purses and jacket all rolled in one bag for $25🎉

Goodwill of Greater Washington Retail Store: what do users think?
Reanna Rousseau
Reanna Rousseau: I have to say very disrespectful management at this location. The staff was lovely and helpful but the short light skin women manager with the face piercings, with her mask underneath her nose gave me the worst experience I have ever had at goodwill. Her regional needs to have her replaced ASAP. You can’t make your own rules at your store that’s not in policy. You can get fired for things like that and she must be reported. This is a store where they take free items and mark them up for “Goodwill” to sell to the people in the community who can’t afford the regular priced items. If you are over pricing the item you are basically doing a disservice to the community.
Zh Ie
Zh Ie: Purchased online from this location. The staff was amazing on checking the condition of the item after purchase, and as an added service on their end, they sent a few extra close-ups even after I had purchased, which was not necessary, but so appreciated that they thought to do that. Above and beyond service, and extremely customer-service oriented.
Kim Barr
Kim Barr: I found some lovely things there the staff was very helpful and definitely check out the colors of the week sales. I was able to get a 15.99 suit for 3.99 because of the colors of the week sale.
Franklin Owens III
Franklin Owens III: I was there for clothing… but I can never pick out clothing in a thrift store, so I left with books. The store was well organized though. I tend to be a bit uncomfortable buying items out of thrift stores. I didn’t care much for the clothes. But there were other items in the home section were really nice. Everyone was nice in the thrift store. Even when I gathered a cart full of books and then realized I couldn’t use my clothing voucher on books😬😅
bluslushii
bluslushii: Been to multiple Goodwills, the staff was by far the most helpful and I honestly received the best customer service I did at any business. Definitely will be returning! Thank you so much ladies for being so kind and helpful!

Brian Gray (urbanbohemian): A great place to browse for some great gift ideas, vintage items and friendly staff. Maps turned into buttons? Unique stationery and cards? A print of Marion Barry over a map of DC? You can find all that and more. The Arts Walk is super close to metro and a fun addition to Brookland.

Uptown Cheapskate: what do users think?
Crystal Miller
Crystal Miller: I’m going to start this review by saying this entire company is racist. No person of color especially a black person should sell their things to this company. I brought in several items that had tags on them and because they didn’t fit the stereotype of the white area that it’s in they chose to say that my clothes wouldn’t sell. I know that that is a lie because I have seen plenty of college girls in that area wearing the exact same clothing. Same time in the store I found a black woman who wanted my new leather Zara dress that was originally $70 it was never worn. I ended up selling the dress to her in this store that claimed they did not have the clientele to take my items. What I got from the store was that the ownership is racist. They only want things that cater to white people even though they are in an ethnic area such as College Park. I have found plenty of black women in this specific area who would love the clothes that I brought in but it didn’t fit the white standard in the store so it wasn’t taken. I cannot speak for the manager because she tried to run away from the situation. However the people that do work there the staff they are friendly they are lovely however I will never recommend any person of color to go to the store to bring your clothes because it’s not white enough. On top of that they took two items who were in worse condition than the rest of the clothes that were in great condition because it fit the white aesthetic in the area.
Response: Hi Crystal. Uptown Cheapskate College Park is black-owned and -operated. The majority of folks who buy from and sell to us as well as most of our employees are people of color. The company is not racist just because we were not interested in purchasing your items.
Ricky Gomez
Ricky Gomez: I will start this review by saying that the workers are super friendly and nice , the reason i am giving this place a 1 start reviews because I brought in a pair of slightly used Jordan’s with the box (both with the same Serial number ) and everything to get them appraised and sold . Well I come to find out that I had to wait TWO WHOLE HOURS for them to examine the pair of shoes . They give me a call to come back into the store just to tell me they couldn’t “ authenticate “ the shoes and basically told me I brought in fake Jordan’s . They’re reason for saying this is because “ they don’t have the factory smell (obviously because they WORN Jordan’s ) and because the jump man logo had a little bit of glue that was visible (obviously from the manufacture process). It’s ridiculous to me that a store that buys and sell streetwear products can’t tell the difference between an original shoe vs a knockoff . Retros Jordan that release now a days aren’t made like they were 10+ years ago . The quality and materials they use aren’t definitely not what they used to be , now with that being said regardless of the quality its not hard to tell a real Jordan Vs a fake and mines weren’t perfect but they were in great condition with no sighs of knockout to a trained eye . So I took my business elsewhere and just shipped them to goat and check this out guys , they authenticated the pair in less then 24 hours of me shipping out the pair of shoes . Complete waste of time .
Response: Hi Ricky. Thanks for taking the time to review. Glad you were able to sell your Jordans. Out of an abundance of caution we often have to turn away items. The process is always smoother if the customer is able to provide proof of purchase or other material to guarantee authenticity.
Xiaojing Mao
Xiaojing Mao: I’m not sure if it was because I came by on Friday afternoon and no one wanted to work, I was not only illy treated but also asked to bring back all the stuff they don’t buy, even after I selected the “donate to charity” option in their system. There’s also no recycle bin nearby, I have to walk one block away to drop off the rest of my stuff. Considering the extremely low price offer they gave on the items they wanted to buy, it’s really not worth the effort paying this visit. I recommend donating your clothes directly.
Response: Hello Xiaojing. Thanks for taking the time to review. We try to give everyone a great experience. Unfortunately the automated checking system does not reflect the fact that we have not been taking donations since the pandemic began. All customers at drop off are informed that they are required to take back any items we are unable to purchase. We are not responsible for the whereabouts of local recycling bins but are glad you found an option. If you would like to provide more information about your experience please call 240-553-7271 and ask for Liz. Your feedback can help us improve our customer service.
Mindalay Bay
Mindalay Bay: Very friendly staff & impressive mens collection. However, I value my time and don’t appreciate waiting almost 2 hours to be told they wouldn’t take any of my items (considering I arrived 10 minutes after they opened, had 1 person ahead of me, and was told it would only take an hour). Before I made this trip I made sure to include things they were interested in according to their Facebook posts. I was told they’d take a few things but it wasn’t worth it. Pretty sure something is worth more than nothing. Anyway, I don’t plan on coming back to this location since it was a hike for me and a complete waste of my time. Not looking for an apology or a response with an excuse.
Veronica
Veronica: I am giving a one star due to the obvious following an employee with green hair was doing. She followed me and my younger sisters various times and just wandering around wherever we were when she was doing absolutely nothing or pretending to do “work”. We come to buy clothes in PEACE not to be harassed for our race or have someone think we’re thieves. She wandered around us a lot but not the white couple that was in there as well, how funny. Shame on that employee and whoever may have told her to do that. Next time she’s gonna get called out for that. Besides that, I would’ve given the store 5 stars because they have great clothes and it’s very clean. The cashier Samuel was so sweet and funny, maybe she could learn a thing or two from him.
Response: Hi Veronica. Thanks for taking the time to review and bringing your experience to our attention. I am sure no profiling took place and our employee was trying to do their job as best they could. If an employee is ever making you uncomfortable please bring it to a managers attention to address. Sam is fantastic. I will pass on your kind words to him.
Teetee Foster
Teetee Foster: I called up there 3 times to confirm that they accept DESIGNER SHOES . I asked them do y’all accept all designer shoes they answer was “YES “ . So when I drove 30 mins away from home to try sell my shoes they told me my shoes was over budget meaning they couldn’t accept them . If you know designer shoes gonna be HIGH , why say y’all accept all designer shoes ? . DONT WASTE YOUR TIME .
Response: Thanks for taking the time to review. We do take designer shoes for every budget. We currently have Prada, Raf Simons, Balenciaga, Manolos, etc but we can not guarantee purchase until we have seen items in person. Style, condition, demand and season are some of the factors besides brand that help us determine whether to make a purchase. Hope you are able to find a buyer for your shoes.
Felt God
Felt God: they be spamming they took 6 items for 16 dollars and 3 items for 6 dollars they selling for 8.99 one of my items for more they offered me. this the type of store you go to turn your clothes in to get better clothes with store credit NOT to sell your clothes here. maybe the more clothes you have the more you will make. they do have the drip in there for decent prices tho actual designer. anything they take they should sell for at least 5 dollars an item thanks for attending my ted talk
Response: Hello. Thanks for taking the time to review and Ted talk. When you choose store credit you will receive 25% more than our cash offer. When you sell you will receive only a percentage of the price the item is marked - generally somewhere between 24 - 50% depending on style, demand, etc. You are always welcome to decline our offer if you are not satisfied. We do have a great selection at fantastic prices.
Joshua Newman
Joshua Newman: Hello, I can’t help to notice a handful of bad reviews. I must say my experience has been different. Everyone is kind, down to earth and super welcoming. The clothing is all quality brands and in good condition. It takes them up to 40 minutes to look through the clothes people want to sell them so they can assure quality. This is not an antique store nor your traditional thrift store. I definitely recommend checking it out.
Response: Hi Joshua. Thanks for taking the time to review. We are trying really hard during very trying times so it’s wonderful to receive some positive acknowledgment of our efforts. Hope to see you again soon.
Duncan
Duncan: good cloths, good shoes, all very clean, got called "boss" a lot :D
Response: Hey Duncan. Thanks for taking the time to review. We try to make sure everyone has a good shopping or vending experience!
Andrea Angel
Andrea Angel: I take care of my shoes but some how aren’t In good conditions. They look the same as I bought them. Lastly, If you do sell they try to give you the lowest. Look around and you’ll see the conditions of their clothing honestly better off selling on offer up. I clearly went to both if I put down a review. Thanks for having time to verify though. Maybe better service and attitude will leave you better reviews.
Response: Hi Andrea. Can’t help but notice this is the exact same post you left on Plato’s site. We encourage you to exhaust all your resale options.

Unique: what do users think?
Abi Maghamfar
Abi Maghamfar: A place to donate unwanted items and buy used items from furniture to toys to kitchenware, clothes, shoes, books, DVDs, etc at reasonable prices. If you buying toys, puzzles and games or anything that have multiple pieces, makes sure all pieces are there as this has been one of the disappointing aspects of buying stuff here. The other disappointment is the lack of organization and cleanliness of the facility. Love the idea of recycling and reusing rather than sending them to the wasteland and Unique provides that opportunity.
Alice L.
Alice L.: Unique Thrift is a for-profit enterprise owned by Savers, which is owned by a private equity firm in the Seattle area. It is NOT a charity shop and does not donate its profits to charity. Their website clearly states: "Shopping in our stores does not support any non-profit." The company says it purchases donated items from some local non-profits; however, it does not release details on these buying deals. The company is large and owns many thrift stores around the country. I mention this because there are true charity shops in the area--including Goodwill, Urban Thrift, Salvation Army, church shops, etc.--that are actually charities and donate their profits to charity. Some of the real charity shops are even run by volunteers working for no pay in order to help the cause. A lot of people seem to think Unique is a charity and the attorney general in Minnesota has in the past accused this company of misrepresenting how much it gives to charity. So if you have lovely and near-new items to donate, I highly suggest donating them to authentic charity shops. I frequently shop the charity shops, but I also shop at Unique. Unique Thrift is still a worthwhile place to shop and I have found many nice items for good prices. It is pretty well managed and prices are marked clearly. The merchandise is generally clean and not damaged, although you have to examine your items carefully. There are 7-day exchanges but only for clothing and shoes. Be very careful buying anything else that might have defects, such as luggage, electronics, furniture, etc. Some items do have hidden damage so you have to look carefully. There are discounts here on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays only so those days tend to be crowded.
JJ Edwards
JJ Edwards: Its a huge thrift store, as afar as I know and for so many thrift store I had visited this is my favorite one. They have huge selection of clothes, shoes, toys, books, furniture, kitchen ware and many more. Worth to check out!
Sara O'Brien
Sara O'Brien: I have been going to this place for years and always felt welcome, but today was the worst experience of my life. We were in line for self checkout, when I saw that register 18 was open, as I proceeded with my daughter to the register the woman that was in charged of self checkout named Charika told us, "come here because I cannot see what you ring there." We walked to the register that she told us and as I scanned this woman stands there staring at us scan each item. I was already getting upset because she was staring at us scan as if we were the only customers there or as if we were thieves. After scanning 7 items this woman proceeds to approach my bag and count the items that I had placed inside the bag to make sure it matched the amount of items on the screen. I felt that we were being treated as thieves. I got so upset, I asked for the manager, but she said no one was available, so I took a picture of her ID card. This woman stood staring at our register until we finished ringing every item as if we were thieves. People go to the thrift store for many reasons, but in no moment should they be harassed by anyone. This store needs to train its employees to be courteous and not target people
li garcia
li garcia: Good thrift store. Nice selections of everything. All staff and personnel are nice and friendly except for the old lady at the register. Very mean ! Unfriendly! And the voice specially when she’s on the speaker. She’s always mad and unhappy person. I’m sure I’m not the only one noticing it!
Ariel S.B.
Ariel S.B.: My favorite thrift store! Yeah, some of the prices are just a little bit higher than your average goodwill, but the quality of items is so much better. I’ve seen brand new items from designer stores, sometimes with the tags still on them. Stuff is actually trendy and cute and not dated. They have clothes in every size, the selection is huge! Definitely visit if you’re looking to revamp your wardrobe.

Goodwill of Greater Washington Retail Store: what do users think?
Noor Ayoob
Noor Ayoob: Great run with the family today to Goodwell there was so many stuff to buy good used equipment. Clean store parking was available on site great customer service . Keep up the great work.
Sharon
Sharon: Went yesterday around 2pm The store itself is smaller than the goodwills ive been in before, but also more organized! I think their best section is the long sleeve shirts for women, I think they have some real gems in there! Workers are nice and it was an easy checkout. Would recommend if you need a blouse or just want to browse!
T
T: A medium-sized store with a pretty decent selection on used pieces. I came out with two really nice dresses both brand new with the tags still on them and a skirt that still have the tags on it so it was new as well I also found a nice straw beach bag for the summer. The staff was very kind and helpful and the store was very clean I will definitely get back here 😊 Sorry guys I forgot to take pics this time!
Elmer And Liz Gonzalez
Elmer And Liz Gonzalez: Two stars is just right, goodwill has become so overpriced that at today date I rather buy new instead, pair of shoes for $40 already used? No way, those used stuffs are donations, so should be priced accordingly not even higher than new. Check for yourself.
BEN watson
BEN watson: Fantastic service, nice stuff and great prices. Got a like new backpack for $9

Fredrick Omeniho
Fredrick Omeniho: Unique is a good thrift store for dropping off your items that you no longer need ranging from clothes, kitchen wears, electronics, books, you name it. You also buy from items donated by others at a low price. Customer service here is also wonderful. I would say keep helping. Update: Unique has undergone some recent changes - sales automation and now you could attend to yourself but sales attendants are still around to help, coupons and perks have become more decent. Unique also has more inventories recently but you could walk in to donate more.
N
N: Had NO fitting room which seriously inhibits anyones ability to find quality items. Would have loved to get some jeans, shorts, etc. but felt uncomfortable buying when I can’t try on. To make matters worse, there are no returns, only exchanges within 14 days with original price tag attached. Well organized and good selection, though it’s hard to find items without trying on. The self checkout is also really convenient.
Olmo Beherzt
Olmo Beherzt: Warning! They will sell counterfeit if you are looking for a bargain of an Vuitton purse. Avoid this, if legitimate you will over pay look for it in eBay if fake that has a negative value and it is illegal to sell it but Unique doesn’t discriminate and sells fake and genuine at same prices and more often it is going to be fake (again selling counterfeit is ILLEGAL unique managers should know better). Save your money… get elsewhere online is better because laws are applied rigorously.
Kathryn S
Kathryn S: Wide variety of clothing and home goods, mostly at fair prices. It seems that they rotate their stock seasonally, i.e. sweaters are out in February, but not shorts. **There are no fitting rooms** but there are mirrors throughout the store to help you try on jackets/outerwear.
nonya biznes
nonya biznes: i call this place the walmart of thrift stores. it’s gigantic, filled with good deals, and speedy with self checkout. it’s impossible to come here and not find SOMETHING in your size. highly recommend. i drive over an hour to come here.
Danielle Gorsky
Danielle Gorsky: Management and employees are extremely rude and unprofessional. Manager is cocky about his position and disregards customer service. He talks down to customers when they ask questions and prefers to go against store rules. Employees are generally rude and pretend like you’re not there and have no manners. Selection is okay but store atmosphere is sad from everyone working there.
