The Patio at Hotel Washington: what do users think?

Marylyn Jackson: Terrible service. A gin and tonic was $18. No napkins offered. Horrible music playing. Go next door to Cafe du Parc

Orsolya Kovari: Terrible meal, we ate it because it was a long day and no time to wait for an other meal, everything was burnt and bitter.

Anna Nicek: Great aesthetics and good concept, but poor execution. We had 4 different waiters/servers in the hour that we were here. That’s a fine concept if you are told ahead of time that it’s a group effort. The only way we got service is if we flagged someone down. Appetizers/sharable plates were limited to pork rinds and pimento cheese dip that were basically right out of the grocery store aisle. Could be a much better restaurant if was run a little better.

Sam Spitz: Great location... but would be better if they abandoned the restaurant concept and just charged a flat fee to sit in the patio - and maybe drinks. “Artisanal Pepperoni” Pizza was DIY dinner-party quality at best. “Pimento Cheese Dip” tasted like something from dairy aisle at the grocery store. Server brought our appetizers and entrees together, and then forgot about us. Had to wait 20-minutes before we even had an opportunity to ask for the check. Oh yeah, and our minute-maid lemonades cost $6/each. Won’t be back.

Ashley Sanders: Waited 50 mins for 1 pizza at 3pm, so not lunch hour rush. we asked where are order was & someone went to check and never came back. We then just asked someone else to get our check, and no one ever brought a check. Horrible service. Slow and unprofessional. Ended up leaving cash for our drinks and leaving.

Steffanie Kluck: Tourists beware....that felt like a total tourist trap/ ripoff... A very small can of Sprite for six bucks.... Kids meals ( tenders and fries, cheeseburger and fries were 14.00 each) A small bowl ranch 2 bucks extra... And a cheeseburger for 24.00....no condiments on there at all ... Pretty sure that was the reason why it was super empty...

tim hood: Best pizza ever and the pimento cheese was unbelievably great! The staff was so kind and very helpful and made sure all of our needs and wants were met! Ramiro was awesome

Ashley Altenbernd: Mike B. was an amazing employee, the Ford was quick and amazing, very friendly service

Brian Denman: Great location to sit outside and have a drink, but some things are overpriced. An Aperol Spritz is $17!

The Pub & The People: what do users think?

Ethan Z: Great Restaurant!! This Restaurant is in the city area and offers indoor and outside seating!! The menu is rather small but the food and drinks were great!! The wait staff were friendly and professional!! The restaurant was also clean and well presented. The bathrooms are coolly decorated too with people sending pictures in of there family pets in to be featured on the wall. Overall great!

Becky Gomez: Such a great spot for a lonely, taveling vegetarian! 😂 Bar service was superb and a delightful vibe. Great beer selection. Perfect shishitos 🌶️ and tempura cauliflower!

AJ Hendricks: Pub and the People is our favorite outdoor spot in Bloomingdale. The beers they have on tap are great, and the food (specifically, the Black Bean burger and "The Heidi" Fried Chicken sandwich) is very solid. The tempura cauliflower sauce is also amazing. Matt, the manager, is very friendly and just a welcoming face to see when you come in. This radiates through the whole staff. The happy hour specials are awesome, and run for most of the day on the weekends. Enjoy!

Parker Kelley: Very great experience here ! We’ve passed this place numerous times and I’ve always said I wanted to try it. So, we finally did ! I ordered the Heidi chicken sandwich which was very tasteful. It came with a side of fries which were also very good. The service was great - 3 or 4 people continuously came to check on us. I’d definitely eat here again.

Bobbi DeAnda: Such a great brunch spot! The outdoor patio is pup friendly (and the bathroom inside is a must see for dog lovers haha). The biscuits and gravy with fried chicken was TO DIE FOR. So yummy! Staff was super friendly and helpful.

Callum Wayman: A great local pub for people in Eckington and Bloomingdale. The pub offers a great selection of beers, wine, and cocktails as well as an excellent food menu (try the tempura cauliflower, chicken sandwich, and the fries). In the winter they offer group seating around large fire pits for small gatherings. I found that to be a huge boon when trying to gather friends outdoors while being mindful of COVID during the winter. The staff are nice and helpful.

Amy Burdon: Had dinner and played trivia - food menu was fairly short but with lots of tasty items - I enjoyed the curry wings and gazpacho. Staff were friendly, happy hour drinks were a good deal. All positives!

Daniel Albert: Not sure what happened to this place. The drinks we got were fine, but the food was pretty subpar. Got the Cuban sandwich and the fries that came with it were way too peppered and salty. The food used to be great here. The vibe is still good - cozy and perfect for winter time.

CIRCA at Foggy Bottom: what do users think?

Kelly Crenshaw: We were going to another spot and one of my group said "what about here" as we came out of metro. They had a large party cancel so we were able to get in. Everything was great. Food was fantastic and we all were happy leaving. The mac and cheese might be there best I have ever had. I been thinking about and I can not remember a better bowl of mac and cheese... it was that good.

Jessica R: We decided to come here on a whim and thoroughly enjoyed our meal. We came for more of a late lunch/early dinner and even though we did not have reservations they still were able to seat us. They did have to seat us in their outdoor area, which was a little chilly but perfectly fine. Our server was very pleasant and attentive. The food was great! I got the blackened chicken mango salad and my mom got the barbecue chicken flatbread. Both were very good

Lori Kusterer-Farley: Great dining experience for our family ! Foodie place ! Loved the outdoor tent with heaters. Burger, wings and shrimp salad were amazing! Would definitely return ! Walking distance to a DuPont circle.

Ron Milkowski: Stopped in for a quick drink. Great bartender. Seems like a college crowd. Would definitely be back for dinner. Recommended.

Jessica Morales: This lovely corner is perfect, the menu is not big, but it has a good selection of different options. We had as an appetizer tuna poke nachos, the flavor combination and the fresh tuna was so delicious, and as a entree jambalaya, the spicy was on point and the penne pasta cooked to perfection, my husband ordered a braised short rib, the meat was so tender, the mash potatoes has this smooth texture so perfect. Thank you Michael, great service.

Canopy Central Cafe And Bar: what do users think?

Ciara Kalf: The inside is just beautiful. Upscale, but cozy, with lots of light and great view of the waterfront. But you’re definitely paying for it. We made a reservation on a Saturday at 11 AM for brunch, and were surprised that we probably didn’t even need one since they were pretty empty (which was nice honestly). We all agreed our meals were very good (French fries were specially were bangin). Chicken sandwich was super crispy and flavorful but it was dark meat chicken when you bit into it. I prefer a thicker whole white meat. Mimosas were good, they definitely don’t short you on the champagne! Service was great. Our server was very nice, even took some great pictures for us :) Its unfortunate that it’s so expensive (you can see the steep prices on their menu). But it’s a quiet space to have nice conversations in a great ambience.

Jim Haynie: The staff is outstandingly nice here. They are kind and great people. The menu is a bit odd and a few expensive breakfast options. The eggs and chicken sausage is very good. The fruit plate is big! I enjoyed breakfast.

Rachel U: Amazing staff! Sunday brunch was great, the bottomless mimosa were a plus! We had the kale Caesar salad, creamy pesto pasta, and fish tacos.

D. Suazo: The best of this experience was the view! Service was OK, and at times very slow. Waiter was nice but seemed overworked - too many tables to attend. Food was not worth the price and very understated. Only food item that was good was the District wings & fries; cooked perfect & tasty. Mahi mahi tacos had maybe one bite of fish in each taco & mostly flour tortilla. Ordered margaritas and since not on drink menu we were charged $29 per drink😲, we spoke with manager and he did remove the charges. Parking is horrendous and expensive $35 for 3 hours

Jace J: Amazing views, great personable staff. I was made a special cocktail and it was great ! Only thing is they do not accept Apple Cash . Just came for a quick drink and some computer work . Definitely a vibe . Great for lunch and dinner dates

Aya Medhat: Our hostess Tantalia suggested the pizza and chicken wings for our dinner and they both were great. The pizza is a must try was one of the best We’ve ever had. My son insisted on saying thank you to Jason the pizza chef.

Rod Thompson, MD: Awesome view. Brunch selection was good but not great, BUT the food was really good. Deb really was an outstanding server and made our brunch an incredible experience. The bottomless mimosas are definitely worth a try, especially since they have different flavors. I will most definitely eat here again.

Ria: The atmosphere of this place is great! It’s located right by the water and is just the perfect spot for the summer. I’m not sure who the bartender is the day I went but MAN, give them a raise. I asked the waiter to tell them to make me a sweet and strong drink. The first was a pineapple mint margarita and it was sooo good. The second was a strawberry margarita, with fresh strawberries! So awesome. I had chicken tenders and fries. The fries were good but the chicken tenders were a bit dry and underwhelming. At night, if you’re sitting outside they have a beautiful fire pit. I’d definitely visit again!

Dacha Beer Garden (Shaw): what do users think?

Avinash Maniam: Good place, great veggie burger and amazing fries. Little more expensive than I expected but it was a nice time. Have to talk a bit loudly but that’s to be expected in a bustling place on a Thursday night. Would recommend. Also, clean bathrooms.

Preston Edge: Great beer, great atmosphere. Excellent service despite being packed! Several Weihenstephaner’s to choose from. Appetizers (fries and fried pickles) were delicious and came with a delicious curry ketchup.

Johnny “Johnny's good life tips” Even: Amazing placeGreat vibeLathe verity of beersGreat German bar food

Vanessa Phillips: Dacha was so cute! Outside, but under gigantic tents with lots of fans. I tried the Duclaw and would recommend it. My friend and I enjoyed our food, the atmosphere, and the service. Lots of dogs. Be aware of the blanket service fee though!

Ryan Boucher: Good atmosphere, but overall pricey bar food. The beer is German but do not expect any German food. Good place overall.

Jamila Jenkins: Great place to bring your dog and try different beers, even hard liquor drinks and tasty food. Can get kind of pricey and crowded if you don’t come early enough. All the staff was very friendly.

Nilanjan Chatterjee: Food and ambience is great! But the new 15% fair-wage fee is ridiculous! We are paying for food and drinks and also tipping for service. The onus of salary and fair wage should be on employers not patrons! Shady practice! Not visiting again!

TAKODA - Rooftop Restaurant & Beer Garden: what do users think?

Katie Hallock: This place was perfect for a casual date night with some friends. I loved the vibe and decor and definitely loved the seating on the balcony. It’s a busy part of town so parking can be nearly impossible and it’s not unusual for your time there to be filled with lots of sirens and ambulances passing by or even loud people on motorcycles. We all decided to go the appetizer route and get one of everything to share. The boneless chicken wings have an amazingly flavorful and crunchy out exterior which is fantastic! The inside is pretty darn juicy, too! But it wasn’t unusual to find a good amount of chewy fat or something going on inside. The truffle fries were super delicious! The old bay tots weren’t overwhelmed by the seasoning, but they were nice and crispy and perfect for dipping in the yummy garlic aïoli. Of the sliders and sandwiches, I personally thought that the barbecue pork was way better than any of the other options. The burger looked pretty boring and I was disappointed in the lack of flavor and the short rib sandwich.

Maalik hutchinson: Do yourself a favor and visit this lovely rooftop restaurant in DC. The service is unmatched. The staff truly cares about your experience. The food is absolutely amazing, everything we tasted especially the chicken biscuit. Absolutely the best brunch experience I’ve had while in DC. Highly recommend!

Ricardo Daley: Went for their Sunday Brunch and was very disappointed with their service. The menu was in 3 parts - first comes with everything with second and third being requested with one from each section individually. They had no bacon from the first part and no substitute. Took like 25 minutes between request and delivery. Asked for extra napkins before meal was served and still waiting. Even after requesting items from second and third menus and he wrote it down, he came back to ask if we needed anything. SMH. Food was average at best! Service was TERRIBLE! The only thing that was fast was when we asked for the check. It came quickly. Only thing going for them was the tall Asian chef/cook who came out in his running shorts looking tasty! He shouldn’t be in the back!

Rahul Panchal: Great place to hangout in downtown with best part they have rooftop sitting area. Rooftop section is little small so you need to come early or wait little longer. The best part is their name of the cocktails, we tried Pfizer gang and Fully vaxxed. 4 star is because they add too much ice to get the taste of cocktails and all cocktails were premixed from tab. We liked the ambience and rooftop section to enjoy few drinks. Worth visiting.

Hector Zarate: Good and affordable place for lunch (awesome brunch deal). Great location for bar hopping after brunch. Food is good. The rooftop views are nice. Fast service and friendly staff. The drink selection was good but most of them tasted like they may have relied a lot on flavored syrups perhaps? so some of them were on the very sweet side. 4 stars overall!

Kimberly Stamets: I had a fantastic time at bottomless brunch thanks to our server, Ramon! If you can, ask for him! The food was tasty and the mimosas were flowing. Great time!

Jay Cheat: The drinks 🍹 was pre mixed all them tasted the same and the food was over priced and dry. If you want to just get drunk then it’s ok, sorry 😢 you can’t get drunk lol 😂 😂🤣 but for a good experience NOOOOOO!!!!!

Kirwan’s on the Wharf: what do users think?

Abhinav: Food: 3/5 Ambience:4/5 Service: 3.5 /5 The patio of this place on the wharf is pretty cool. We went there just because of that. The food was very mediocre for the prices they charge. We went around 9:15am, we had to ask for the menu twice, ask the waiter to bring cutlet after food was served. We were give only one menu card for a table of three. I guess the waiter was tired for the day but nevertheless expected better than that.

Kyle D: Cool place at the Wharf. Nice atmosphere, however the food was just okay. I’ve had better fish and chips before (the breading fell off the fish and didn’t seem to be seasoned as well as it could). The crab cake appetizer was very good, however.

Antoinette Levon: Service was good. Cocktails were tasty. Food was ok. The Mushroom Soup was really good. But the Caesar Salad lacked dressing and some of the lettuce was brown and old. The gnocchi and squash dish was ok as well. The Pot Pie tasted like it needed something. was a bit bland. Overall it will do if you are hungry and want a drink before our concert. Next time we will try somewhere else.

Paul LaVigne: Kirwans on the wharf is located right at the waterfront and is a good place to go if you have a hankering for Irish pub food. The location is excellent, and the interior is decorated very nicely, but the back room Bar area was exceedingly warm. That would be ok on a cool evening, however it was 90+ degrees when we went in and they’re looking to get relief from the heat. The bartender/waitress who served us was very nice and did a great job of making us feel comfortable. The food was superb as well. I had the bacon and cabbage meal which consisted of pork loin, bacon, cabbage and I opted for the sweet potato fries. It was one of the best pub meals I’ve had. My wife had the lamb burger with colcannon mash. She said it was the best burger and mashed potato dish she’s ever had.

catch_hug: Great for beers and a quick bite. Waiters seem all very good trained and attentive. Food was spiced dezent and authentically, even though the tuna poke (wich btw is not what you are serving) was way too much sesame. Local craft beers on tap, try the sour.

Sam D: Stopped here to avoid the humid day. Great atmosphere and cool a/c. I grabbed a Chicken Pot Pie and it was the best crispy crust and chicken was on point. Highly recommend 10/10

Elizabeth T.: We stopped in here for a few drinks after a free concert and we’re happy with the prices considering the area. We stayed for a few appetizers and I honestly wasn’t that impressed. It did it’s job with curbing my hunger but it was enough for us to choose to go somewhere else for dinner. They sat us quickly and the waitress was very attentive to our needs and brought out the food quickly.

Thao Huynh: Great views and service! The seafood tasted fresh, but it just felt like it needed some more flavor. The drinks were honestly not that great but they look good. Bathrooms look cool but there needs to be more light. For the prices, food quality could have been better, but our server was amazing.

Sequoia DC: what do users think?

Zuleirys Santana Rodriguez: Amazing customer service! The outdoor dining is just soo extremely gorgeous, spacious and clean in every way. You have a lovely view of the water, the Sweden Embassy, and just the river! The food was just next level, specially the octopus that was cooked to perfection and I will certainly have it again when I come back to bring my boyfriend.

IamJoedie S: This was my first time and the experience was awesome. We came for a birthday dinner. A party of 12 arriving at 5 PM on a Sunday. We had two servers they were on top of everything. There was never a moment a glass was empty. Food service was quick hot and absolutely delicious. I had the steak was absolutely surprise when the potato came out with macaroni and cheese…must order if, no when you come. If you’re looking for a sexy restaurant to have a brunch, lunch and or dinner this is definitely the spot it overlooks the water great date spot. I will definitely come back again. Next time for the brunch. I hear that it is phenomenal. Come. Eat. Drink. Enjoy!

jen w: I gave this 3 stars because of a couple reasons first we had a reservation Saturday at 1:30 pm for their tapas brunch. They were super slow getting our food to us at the beginning. We ordered two rounds of food before the waitress came back and told us it was last call. We were barely there an hour. There is a 2 hour limit, I feel that if they have reservations till a certain hour they should allow the two hour minimum for people. It’s 64.95 per person they aren’t doing a favor for anyone. Next we chose to sit inside and it was obnoxiously loud. There was a group of people that were talking and screaming to each other, while I’m glad they were having a good time management should have asked them to simmer down because all the rest of us could to was watch them because u couldn’t talk for the noise. Having said all that, the food was very good. We opted for Bellinis and Mimosas. They were very good. The waiters walked around with carafes of Champagne and refilled you. My glass never got empty. I would go back here but make an earlier reservation and in cooler weather where I could it on the patio so I don’t have to deal with the noise.

John Varkey: We came for an anniversary dinner. The hostesses were a bit surly and disinterested but our waiter was great. The views are fabulous. My wife had the crab cakes and I had the lobster scampi. They were both fabulous but according to my wife the lobster had the edge. We went for a nice stroll along the water and around Georgetown after dinner. A very nice evening was had.

Kat B: Loved this place so much. My partner and I came here for our anniversary, not only was the view beautiful but the energy/service of the staff was amazing . The food was spectacular, definitely get the burrata if they have it ! We were pretty full but still made room for dessert and an espresso which was also delicious . Definitely recommend for a date night/ celebration . Prices were in line with the portions/ambiance .

Crystal Sings: Beautiful simply Beautiful 💜My daughter and I brought my mom to last Saturday’s brunch for her 80th birthday and we really enjoyed the service, food, and ambiance of the restaurant. George, our waiter was awesome and made our experience so memorable! Thank you George!

elizabeth rose: Visiting from florida and this restaurant was highly recommended by locals and im delighted i took their advice! The atmosphere was great, very inviting and scenic, indoor and outdoor seating offered with a nice view of the river. food was really good and exceeded expectations and the server Dominique went above and beyond to make sure we enjoyed our experience :)

Calico: what do users think?

Rachele Clegg: I was super excited to try this spot for cocktails and was extra disappointed. My friends and I ordered one round of drinks and all three of them were downright terrible. There are so many other spots in Blagden and the surrounding neighborhood that are better than this. The one saving grace was the service — 10/10 even though the place was completely packed out and even their door guy left a great impression. Hoping to return once the cocktail menu is revamped!!

cassandra bierworth: Fun place to hang out with friends. Ordering drinks was super easy using the QR code and they were super tasty. Loved sitting under the lights in the bird cage section!

Lydia L: Love the atmosphere here, the friendly staff, and the tomato pie (though, all the food is good.)

Ryan Brubaker: Very hipster. Great food. Hard to find restaurant off of an alley. But the alley is very well-lit and safe. The food is made from scratch and unique. Check out the tots and the meatloaf pictures I provided here. They were both amazing. Did I mention the place is hipster? Even the wine glass fits the bearded hipster that handed it to me. :-)

Nina R: Went here for the first time for drinks w my new coworkers and can I just say, Billy the bartenders service was out of this world he’s so friendly and nice and conversational, it was really nice to feel so welcomed into the city and also enjoy the great outdoor atmosphere. Thank you!

Stephanie Carter: Really fun bar / restaurant! Cocktails are a bit sweet, but beer is good and vibe is on point. They have really cute outdoor and indoor areas with ivy growing all over the place. Have a solid happy hour special, but it gets really crowded on even weekdays if the weather is nice! Food was okay, but pretty affordable and def worth it for this unique experience!

Laura Carlson: i basically live here. indoor and outdoor space, super friendly bartenders and great drinks. good for whatever, from big gatherings to a date ✨

garden district: what do users think?

Britt Van: Garden District always delivers: consistently excellent food, beer, wine, service, and atmosphere. Also very dog-friendly. They serve up some of the best BBQ around. You really can’t go wrong with anything on the menu, but their fried chicken sandwich is phenomenal (a constant craving). They have a thoughtful, intriguing, well-balanced offering of beer, and perhaps unexpectedly, a delightful and unique selection of wine, and they make an effort to secure some limited releases and other special, novel, or somewhat rare items. You can also find cider, liquor (including some approachable, good bourbon), hard seltzer, and non-alcoholic beverages on the menu. GD are good people: the staff are welcoming, knowledgeable, and on top of it, and provide excellent, no-frills service that keeps the food and drink moving and the vibe laid back. They give a damn about their business and about you. Also, even at their busiest, the bathrooms are clean and stocked, which is a testament to their diligence and care. With the prime location, ample outdoor space, and wide appeal of beer garden fare, GD doesn’t have to go as hard as it does. Garden District would be my go-to spot just from the dependably excellent food, drink, and convenience alone, but above all, it is their diligent and friendly staff and the easy, convivial environment they work so hard to provide that keeps me (and basically everyone I know) coming back. That, and my apparent addiction to their fried chicken.

Shankar Kulumani: Great beer garden in heart of 14th Street. Lots of outdoor seating. Very fast service. Pretzels and burgers are great. 1L beers are reasonably priced as well

Hector Pavon: Small place with sort of a garage feeling to it; DC prices, no wifi. Pretzel was great!

Denise Nunez: garden district was a little place I found as I was roaming the DC area. We’re from NY, so we were so pleased to find GREAT, AUTHENTIC southern BBQ. we had the brisket sandwich, pulled pork sandwich, mac and cheese & onion rings. 10/10. Also had some double shot drinks🍺 great vibes, and atmosphere. will be coming back next time 😁👏🏼

Café Riggs: what do users think?

R. Michael Burns: The pancakes I had here were perhaps the best I have ever eaten, due in large part to the lavender honey butter, a truly unique flavor that I absolutely loved. The pancakes themselves were large and lovely -- fluffy inside, nicely caramelized on the outside. A bit pricey, but worth every penny and then some. I was less in love with the Italian chicken sausage, which was a bit dense and ever-so-slightly gamey somehow. Not bad, really, but based on the pancakes I expected better. I also wish they had a greater variety of non-alcoholic drinks. The atmosphere has a sort of old-school elegance with some really nice art deco accents and high, molded ceilings with large windows, giving the place a nice openness and making it a very nice spot for a fancy-but-not-too-fancy breakfast.

Muniba Khan: My friend and I came to Cafe Riggs on a Monday night while we were in from out of town. We were able to book a same day reservation, which was really convenient. The place is really elegant and beautiful, and the service was also stellar. I got the salmon and my friend got the halibut and both were incredibly delicious! We also got the cherry blossom sundae from the seasonal dessert menu and it was really great! I only wish that it had more cherry blossom and less vanilla. My friend tried some of their drinks- they had a special on Martinis for Monday, so she tried the three minis and said her favorite by far was the Vesper. Also, there was a cherry blossom vermouth cocktail off the dessert specials menu that she really liked.

Food Enthusiast: Gorgeous place! I tried the happy hour menu, the drinks were very good and the bartender was a very kind and thoughtful man. If you want to bring a friend to a beautiful place with great ambiance and good food/drinks, look no further! I will definitely come back to try their breakfast menu.

Bethany: Beautiful and delicious experience. This place was amazing. I had the Cafe Royale? It was eggs benedict with smoked salmon and it was absolutely perfect. It was more expensive than I would normally go for for breakfast but it was so good I would do it again. The room was beautiful, the tables were very modern and chic and the food was delicious.

harrisonaslami: Honestly the atmosphere alone is to die for. Went for an early lunch/late brunch on a Thursday. Was seated immediately - lots of seating. Ordered drinks and food and all of it arrived to the table within 5 minutes, presented well with fresh ingredients. Not exactly cheap but not outlandishly priced. Great service. Will come here at least once every time I visit.

Erica Ortiz: This transformed bank space wows with decor, satisfies with food, and stuns with service. The menu could benefit from more raw bar selections, or light fare for after work and happy hour crowds (dinner starts at 5:30), and some additional entree selections. That said, everything I have had here has been delicious and straightforward. A great place for a business lunch, or cocktail hour.

Adam Riemer: Ok TL:DR top ten French fries in the country. They’re right up there with the potato pillows at Arnauds in New Orleans. That’s why five stars instead of three and a half. The fries are crispy on the outside, salted perfectly and melt in your mouth. The server and hostess are incredibly fun and friendly. They’re also professional. Once small issue we had is that we wanted to use our coupon from open table, but it didn’t work because I messed up the date. I asked the hostess if I could rebook but she said it would be fine and was more in a hurry to listen, she just wanted to seat us. To be fair she genuinely didn’t understand why I wanted to rebook, but it’s no big deal. She did her job and when I requested a different table she was very professional and made it happen. She was fantastic, friendly and wonderful. It would have been nice to use the coupon though. I fully enjoyed the Cabernet Merlot blend from Markham and my friend thought the Rose was good. He likes sweet wines and they don’t have any, including in the sparkling section so this was a great alternative. The mussels were delicious, but the fries are the show stopper. My burger came out dry and overcooked to the point where I shoveled it all down as quick as possible so I could just get through it. The lobster ravioli was over cooked and tough. But it is what it is. I would absolutely recommend this place based on the atmosphere, fries and cocktails for a business happy hour or networking event. The atmosphere is perfect for date night, but the food wasn’t prepared right so I would not go here for an actual date. It was likely just an off day. If you’re looking for a bachelorette party, brunch spot or drinks with the girls, this is a definite yes!!!

Big Bear Cafe: what do users think?

Chelsea Kinsman: Dinging them 2 stars for only providing single-use plastic disposable cups and utensils and another star for the bland and basic “homemade” English muffin breakfast sandwich. Like so many cafes during the pandemic, Big Bear moved in a less sustainable direction which is sad to see and also unacceptable given how much we know about the affect of non-recyclable waste. Big Bear still does not permit dine-in on the bottom level, only outdoor seating and indoor seating upstairs (where the lone bathroom is), though they had blocked off all the seats outside in the sun the day we were there. Would recommend skipping this place in favor of more sustainable cafes until they improve their environmental practices as well as their food on offer.

Andrew Thomas Clifton: It’s one of my absolute GO-TO spaces to hit in DC. The staff is great, the food is simple and also very very great, the only thing I do not like is if you sit outside be ready for lots of flies to be hovering.

stephanie wood: Honestly, not my favorite. The line gets very long and moves slowly. The staff is impatient, rushes you at the counter, and is borderline rude if you have questions. It’s difficult to find a seat and you are not welcome to linger. The vibe is BUSY. Creative Grounds coffee is around the corner and provides a much friendlier atmosphere.

Georgia Craig: Best coffee I’ve had in DC, good milky got chocolate. Good array of baked goods. Could make the food menu clearer as I didn’t realise there was a food menu until I was served. Good bagels. Could improve cleanliness. Very busy. Rather expensive~ $45 for the food in the photo.

Joy R: Inside and outside space as well as a 2nd floor party area . Very cute. Serves coffee and drinks. The double cheeseburger was very good.

Joe Joe: A fast paced grab-n-go or sit down breakfast eatery that has phenomenal staff service and great avocado breakfast burritos. Went two times while visiting in Washington DC and it’s a must!

Craig Pratt: Nice little Cafe were you can sit for hours on your laptop or reading, I did both. Coffee was great ad was the service.

Moreland's Tavern: what do users think?

Duane H (WendysFrosty): Went here with my boss and coworkers for lunch. Love the environment, menu and prices. The margarita was well balanced and the food was great!Highly recommend if you are in the area!In walking distance of Citi Open!

Anna Trotsenko: This place was amazing! The staff make you feel like a local and they are so kind. They know their stuff and they get you your food on time. My food was so delicious and high quality. This is a place everyone should go to!

Kathy G.: The restaurant is quaint and cozy, perfect for a date night or any other meal! It’s small - so it’s not great if there are loud children….but it is easily one of our new fave places! The Brussel sprouts were so delicious that I was literally doing a happy dance while eating them!

Adam Kapp: Great local spot! House cocktails, plenty of vegetarian options, and friendly service. Reservations were required when I visited. The outdoor space is really nice and good distance between tables. Hope to be back soon!

Giuliana DI: Support this place to keep a restaurant in the neighborhood, though food is average for the price. Nice outdoor eating area, but they close too early on spring/summer evenings.

Firefly: what do users think?

Sadhana G: Went to this beautiful place for brunch on a Sunday. The food was a whole new level of excitement! Presentation and quality of the food and the good ambience set the right tone for the weekend. But the only setback was the price. We had an Egg frittata, chicken and waffles and Egg Benedict-crab ( the chef special) and it cost us 70$. A great place to grab finger food in a cute setting !

Garner Marshall: Excellent breakfast spot. Indoor and outdoor seating available. Parking is pretty scarce around the area. Staff is excellent. Good is delicious. Music is diverse. Location is convenient. This is going to be one of my new favorite breakfast spots.

Mariia Sarlayan: Wonderful food, amazing service, beautiful interior, pleasant vibe. A bit pricey for brunch but worth it. I wish more tables outside had umbrellas for shades but even then the experience was memorable.

Linden Yee: Solid brunch, overall recommend. The eggs on the benedict were pretty undercooked but the flavors were good, and the chicken and waffles were really well seasoned. Service was pretty slow, and the staff seemed to be up against a lot. While the waiter was great, they appeared to be the only one working the entire restaurant.

Khadija Khan: The restaurant has changed a lot since the last time I was here! Really friendly staff and nice ambiance! My favorite was the peanut butter and jelly French toast with the jalapeño honey! It’s an Interesting combo but I really liked it. Our server recommended a really yummy mocktail! The food was a little pricey so I’m not sure if I’ll be visiting again any time soon, but the dishes were innovative and delicious.

idcwhatcoloritis: This had to be an off night cause the place was interesting. The old arcade games were cool and our waitress did her best with a terrible situation. Two of our three meals were barely warm at best and cold at worst. The other was basically frozen salmon from a grocery store on what looked like Couscous but was actually rice some how. They nuked our food in the microwave and brought it back out. The vegan burger both smelled and tasted like fish. Completely inedible. All in all, the food was terrible all around. The only plus to this experience was the owner who took both meals off our bill and bought us a round of shots to make up for it after there POS system went down. We saw at least 10 plates go back to the kitchen while we were there. I don’t think this is normal cause most of the people there seemed like regulars and were super confused by there food. I think it was an off night but I don’t think any of my group will be returning.

Lisa Mayberry: Cute little place for brunch out of the way in a hotel down New Hampshire Street. Outside patio seating is nice for a cool day with the umbrella up.

Residents Cafe & Bar: what do users think?

Andrea Betances: This place is cute and the drinks are really good. Our server was very nice and helpful. The star of the show was the mini gyro. The pasta was eh and the burger was good but not the best we’ve had. I would come again just for drinks and the mini gyros. It seems like the menu changes often which is refreshing so I would love to come back and try new things.

Ardavan Tookaloo: Wow, wow, wow! If you are looking for a “WOW” factor, this is your place. This place is beautiful, romantic and cozy . So if you are with group of friends or you are on a date it is a great place either way. Drinks are unique and generous! Food taste good and delicious! It is really different from typical bars and restaurant. 1000% recommend it.

TexCat: Fabulous in every way. Definitely sit outside if the weather is conducive. Drinks were heavenly - had the ‘Wild Strawberry’.Ordered the sea bass, it was truly wonderful. My friend had the mini gyros and fries. The soft scoop with mango was the perfect light dessert to share after.

Layth Baheej: The food was amazing, the staff was very friendly and welcoming. On top of that, Gustavo, our waiter, have done an excellent job recommendations for drinks, explaining the minute and food sizes. All in all, my birthday and my best friend’s birthday ended up with an amazing customer service and great food. Thank you

SUE: A super cute restaurant in Washington DC that you MUST visit🙌🏻 To be honest I didn’t have any expectations that meals and drinks could be good in such a “fancy” restaurant. The truth is I was so wrong and their food is not only pretty but also delicious. Moreover, the drinks are really nice. What could I say? They just nailed it! I really had a great time and certainly recommend here! You MUST come here when you travel to DC next time. You would enjoy the chill atmosphere and have wonderful drinks and meals here. However the restaurant is quite popular, so I suggest that making a reservation in advance is definitely necessary. ✨One of 2021 Michelin Bib Gourmand Winners in Washington, DC More travel & restaurant recommendations in instagram @itssuechen

Charles Simms (Charlie): It’s not often you stumble upon such an Instagrammable restaurant whose food tastes better than it looks. (And their food looks amazing!) We ordered charred octopus, bowls of fries, cornish hen, grilled fish, fish burgers, and a smash burger. Everything was delicious, and we can’t wait to dine here again the next time we pop into D.C.

Edward Wu: Absolutely loved the food! Got the figs and ricotta, Turkish eggs (highly recommend adding the salmon and fried cheese), and residents bowl. Nice ambiance and friendly servers

Gypsy Kitchen DC: what do users think?

Rex Barkdoll: We had the restaurant week menu, it was amazing, but then, we were watching other dishes come out of the kitchen and they were amazing too! We had a DELICIOUS time and will be back and bringing friends and family too! Also, the wait staff was professional and very welcoming and the atmosphere was upbeat and trendy. Overall, 10/10!

Miguel Curiel: Delicious food with a lot of vegetarian options and great vibe for bigger groups. Have gone twice, once with a party of 10 and then with a party of 6, and have had the best service on both occasions. The dim lighting and the nice decoration also sets the mood for a great night out with friends. Lastly, all of the drinks and dishes are superb, but especially enjoyed the fried cauliflower.

Ashley Smith: This place was top tier. The cocktail pairings and large/tapas shareable dishes were thoughtfully crafted and delicious. The staff were knowledgeable and friendly. The ambience was light and decorated added to this elite experience. I sampled quite a few dishes, even a non alcoholic beverage.

Timothy Torres: Perfect for a summer day on the rooftop…which has a retractable roof cover. The food was amazing, the wine glasses were really cool and the staff was friendly. All around great spot for dinner or drinks in the heart of 14th street. My MUST pick are the lamb chops - very tender and the cauliflower.

Rachel White: My goodness, what a great experience! Food was all amazing, as were the drinks. A bit on the pricey end but worth it for the experience. They have smaller plates that can be ordered, sort of family style where a group can order many smaller plates and share it all for variety. My group of four enjoyed everything we ordered. Service was also great.

Nisan A.: Everything is so good in Gypsy Kitchen. The drinks are top notch, the food is hearty, the staff is friendly and professional, and the vibe is fun. One of my favorite places in town.

RITA LIN: Our server Wes was amazing and so attentive. Food is beyond scrumptious. Everything is delicious . Upbeat environment and very casual .

Pinar Ozcan: Solo dinner for me after a busy day filled with meetings. I picked two small plates; the beef kebab with couscous and the crispy chicken briouat. Portion was good, I could just finish because I am not a big eater. But if you are hungry take three.

Matthew Mai: Great food!! We only went for drinks and apps but I was thoroughly impressed by how good the food was, how creative the drinks were, and the internal decor of the restaurant! Will definitely be coming back.

Dan Mou: Generous portion for Tapas, we had 4 dishes split between two people and it was filling. Food quality was very good overall.

Dirty Habit: what do users think?

Olivia M. Wilson: Went to Dirty Habit for brunch and it was good! The fruit was really fresh and the potatoes were crisp. However, the service was decent and they only have bar seats available. Maybe that’s because we arrived an hour before they closed for the afternoon. Either way, the food made up for it. I would definitely like to try their dinner menu.

Blvknative: Going to dirty habit for Valentines Day was top tier! The ambience was everything I was expecting! The deal as far as food and drinks were top of the line! Truly a captivating experience for my company and I.

Katlin B.: Best French onion soup I ever had! The vibe is trendy and the crowd is very eclectic. The food and drinks were amazing! Will return for soup. Thanks to the awesome host and staff! There is also a nice outdoor area as well.

Lamina Richardson: I was a little disappointed when i visited dirty habit. It’s aesthetically pleasing but i wasn’t impressed with the food. I got the district chicken and the black rice that’s paired with it was very gritty. The dish was also paired with okra and string beans. The veggies weren’t sautéed at all and had no flavor. They literally tasted like microwaved veggies that were previously frozen. The chicken was actually good but the parings sucked so it wasn’t filling. Nice atmosphere though. Really good espresso martini! If i go again it would only be for drinks.

Martin's Tavern: what do users think?

Jeannie Hill: We both love historical sites and on multiple occasions have gone to Martin’s Tavern when visiting Washington DC and the Georgetown area. We’ve been privileged to converse with the owner and his daughter to say thanks in person for the food and service. I would guess they do a great job of making each individual dining feel special. The quaint great atmosphere, fantastic food and excellent service add to the fun experience of “stepping back in time”. The individual booths and tables are sufficiently intimate enough for a wonderful dinner and the feel of private conversations. It is remarkable at Christmas time in the midst of festivities; the images attached here are from two years ago. They decorated superbly for the holiday which makes it very homey and celebratory! A lovely mix of people of people groups and whole families dine here. Give yourself enough time to look around and take in dessert, too. The staff was friendly, professional and busy. The menu offers a great selection and everything that we’ve tasted has been enjoyable! Martin’s Irish Coffee, Bloody Mary’s, Mimosas, First Lady Cocktail with a nice raspberry twist, Hot Chocolate, Lobster Risotto, Crab Cakes, Martin’s Shrimp & Gritts, Shepherd’s Pie with Lamb, and Grandma Martin’s Meatloaf are all items that I can recommend. I highly recommend visiting – even during the lunch hour, it may be best to make a reservation as the place is a favorite for locals as well as a destination for out-of-state guests. With its BIG history, it’s rather small in size and tucked on the street corner. It’s not easy to find parking, but definitely worth a good walk.

H D: Delicious turkey dinner with sweet potato purée and green beans. Fair salad and French onion soup. Good service. Decent prices for the portion size. And a very nice, classic atmosphere with interesting history. Does not feel stodgy.

Gerald Brown: We had a proper breakfast here: challah French toast with sausage, bacon, home fries and hot chocolate. Everything was good.

Mica Ann: Make sure to make a reservation as this place gets packed quickly. With its rich history and good food, this is a must visit for every tourist. Like me. There’s no guarantee you will get the historic table you are eyeing. With a reservation, you just might. If there’s a special occasion, include that too in your note. We went for brunch and everything we ordered are good. They offer typical American fair but it’s so tasty. We ordered the corned beef hash and two orders of eggs benedicts (I forgot which one). One order, my mother in law and I split coz we just came from breakfast. lol.

Jacqueline Schillinger: Such a charming spot to grab a drink and a bite to eat! Very delicious onion soup and if you’ve never had a hot brown it’s a great place to try it!

chparatrooper88: Famous Martin’s Tavern. Restaurant of choice for President’s and the powerful. Try the espresso martini. Local dark beer is worth a look. Pricey, but, worth a look. No veteran discount…fyi.

Dan Yu: Best brunch restaurant I have been to in a while!! Their french onion soup and shepherds pie are amazing!!! Bread pudding makes me feel like I had an American grandma. 10/10
