The Halal Guys: what do users think?

Rahul Panchal: Good place if you are in downtown after 10ish as other closes down early but they are open till 11. We tried their rice over chicken and rice over falafel. It was not amazing but kind of satisfied your hunger. Staff was quick and helpful, lot of sitting table to eat in as well.
Response: Hi Rahul! Thank you for taking the time to prove us with your feedback. We are happy to hear you have enjoyed your experience with us and even more happy to hear our staff treated you so well. We truly appreciate all of your support and look forward to your next visit. The Halal Guys

Jaime Moore-Carrillo: Fine—not great, not terrible. Ordered the gyro/chicken platter with all the fixings. Food didn’t taste terribly fresh (it may be worth noting that I dined here at 7pm on a Sunday). Not especially flavorful; on the greasier side, but not overbearing. Stomach began to feel heavy as I was eating my meal; will update review accordingly if symptoms deteriorate. Restaurant is pretty well kept. Staff is nice. Wouldn’t go again unless I’m in the neighborhood and not much else is open.
Response: Hi Jaime, we would appreciate the opportunity to chat with your directly. Please feel free to call the office or email us any time to start a conversation.

SKIER VLOGS: The food they provide is deliciousHighly recommended this place in Washington DC.
Response: Hi! Thank you for taking the time to rate and review us. We are happy to hear of your love for our food and truly appreciate your support. We look forward to your next visit! The Halal Guys

Abdul Hakim: Got the mixed beef sandwich chicken gyro platter - it's comes with rice, salad, bread and some sauce. Nothing to write home about. It was barely warm - was expecting more flavour. If your desperate for halal food and are in dc then this will help.
Response: Hi Abdul, we would appreciate the opportunity to chat with your directly. Please feel free to call the office or email us any time to start a conversation.

Ummay Aiman: My most favorite food in Washington!! Do try their chicken/beef combo with rice, pita bread and grilled beef/chicken. It’s so delicious. Staff are very polite and kind. Don’t forget to try their Baklava desserts— you will lick your fingers. I eat lunches there whenever I am in D.C. They have more than three outlets in D.C. I like to eat near the DuPont circle. I love The Halal Guys a lot. This is a convenient food shop for Muslim travelers.
Response: Hi Ummay! Thank you for taking the time to rate and review us. We are happy to hear of your love for our food and truly appreciate your support. We look forward to your next visit! The Halal Guys

My Hanitizer: To my surprise, the location now skimps on rice, bread and not just the meat, it also charges more than other locations. Maybe a bad day? But the food is as great as it can be. I did even point that out to manger as I did not see the rice, he said yes we gave you rice. For that price range and amount of food, my money is best spent someplace else. Extra change do a couple of olives, c'mon halal guys. Will go to the other stores.
Response: Hi My, we would love the opportunity to address any issues you have been having. Would you mind emailing us to start a conversation? We hope to hear from you soon!

princess peach: Tasty food, wasn't crowded at all and we got to people watch at the counter while we ate. Nothing like making fun of drunk people on a Sunday afternoon 😂 😝 flowing out of the clubs next door. Very nice cashier.
Response: Hi! Thank you so much for providing your feedback. We are happy to hear you have enjoyed your experience with us and appreciate all of your support. We look forward to your next visit. The Halal Guys

S A: Disappointed. We ordered chicken and beef gyro and gyro platter. The food did not stay in my stomach for more than an hour. The meat looked too greasy and old. They had a very limited option on topping. They wanted to charge $1 extra for tabooli that looked like it’s been there for weeks. The chicken wrap was awful. Had no seasoning on it. The beef gyro was “okay.” There are plenty of other places to eat in DC. Save some time and go somewhere else.

M J: DISGUSTING! Baklava arrived with two bites already taken out of it!!! No way of knowing if the entree had been tampered also. Bag was sealed when it arrived via DoorDash. No answer to three calls to the restaurant. Absolutely utterly DISGUSTING. My daughter had to watch me spit out my food as I realized (late in the game, it was dessert). So messed up. DO NOT EAT HERE. I have eaten from here a dozen times this year and NEVER AGAIN.
Response: Hi Mike, Thank you for taking the time out of your day to bring this to our attention. Your review is very concerning to us. We want to learn more about what took place and would like to know more. We would truly appreciate it if you would contact us directly at rewards@thehalalguysny.com in order to talk about your recent experience.

NMD: A favorite location for delicious cheap food. Staff is always nice even when they have a full house. Really nothing but great experiences here, so I will be back. This place has a nice feel to it.
Response: Hi! Thank you so much for providing your feedback. We are happy to hear you have enjoyed your experience with us and appreciate all of your support. We look forward to your next visit. The Halal Guys

Sakina Halal Grill: what do users think?

Photographia 56: Halal place in middle of downtown Dc. Walking distance from all great places and White House. Good decor and seating area. Place also gives food at certain times to homeless people. There is a video available over YouTube as well and you can google it. And this is excellent. Staff is very nice and courteous. They will answer any questions if you have. Place has restrooms. Food taste is okay.
Response: Thank you very much for your feedback and we are looking forward to seeing you again

Mohammed Mohammad: Among the placed that do the butter chicken,. Their lamb beriani also great. Staff are very friendly. Place is clean and cool. If you are around Washington dc this is a must try restaurant.
Response: Thank you very much for your feedback and we appreciate your business

Taniyyus Syed: Beautifully decorated place. Excellent interior setting for a classy meal, any time of the day. Unfortunately, the food does not live up to the mark and definitely fails the decor. The plates were clean but greasy. The dishes were mostly bland except for the sheekh kebab and the naan. These two items were excellent. Rest of the food were so so at best and very very greasy, especially the karahi dish. I wanted to like the food at this place, so giving them a 3 star for now, will visit in a few months to see if it improved it's services or not.
Response: Thank you very much for your feedback and we will try our best to improve

Hend Mamdouh: This restaurant is very good I went to it twice and ordered chicken masala and Tandori chicken The guys there are very friendly too Sure once I go to Washington again, I will come by them
Response: Thank you very much for your feedback and we appreciate your business

mahnoor t: Great service with great ambiance! The food automatically gets better with their kindness and generosity towards their customers which feels more like being their guests. You feel welcomed and relaxed. The waiter was kind enough to offer to take our family photo. The owner came to our table and had a little chat with us which helped us get more familiar with their background and service. Overall, the prices are fair as compared to the location. The portion size is good too. I highly recommend this place for family gatherings or even with friends.
Response: Thank you very much for your kindness and feedback.we are looking forward to serve you again

Waleed Hassan: First review: Great Place. Second review: The quality of food seems to have gone down a bit. The owners need to pay attention to quality as well as quantity of food and especially the BBQ (it was far from good today) One of my favorite places in DC- its a shame to see the decline of quality.
Response: Sure Waleed we will do our best. Thank you very much

aneekha habeeb: Me and my Husband visited this place and it was almost magical. You feel the coolness and clam right away. Sweet music, great staff and service and amazing food choices! We ordered gyros sandwich and chicken tikka plate and it was soooo good!! I did not wanted to leave. The interior is breathtaking!!
Response: Thank you very much for your feedback and we are looking forward to serve you again

Mohammed Aldawood: Beautiful restaurant from the inside. The outside is a bit deceptive. Great food and service. Tried the chicken biryani, saag paneer, and cheese naan. All were good but the naan was outstanding. Definitely recommend.
Response: Thank you very much for your feedback and we are looking forward to serve you again

POC Building-Manager: This restaurant was my fav spot in DMV area for almost 5 years because I love Biryani, but today after 3 hour of swimming session I was starving and decided to eat Biryani, and I always prefer Mild because my stomach can’t digest spicy foods. I went to the counter as always wanted to see my friend who used to work there, he wasn’t there. However, There is a new guy which doesn’t know a word of customer service, first he served me a wrong order (spicy biryani), and secondly he served it in plastic bag ready for to-go, with only one set of plastic silverware for two people. While I told him clearly that I would be dinning inside. I am very disappointed because, I lost my fav spot. This type of service is really not expected from restaurant.
Response: We are sorry for your bad experience. I will investigate this matter with staff and fix

K -: Great food and super helpful staff. Menu is just one page front and back, but the kitchen specializes in what they serve. Food is well-spiced, comes out piping hot, and they have sit-in and take-away options. Punjabi Chai Tea was the perfect finish to the generous portions. Great place to share a meal with friends and family. Call ahead for reservations at dinner time as it can get busy (for good reason)!
Response: Thank you very much for your feedback and we appreciate your business

New York Grill - THE HALAL FOOD: what do users think?

Lucy Ruderman: Picked up lunch from here and it was enough for two days worth of lunch! The chicken and rice was great (partner loved the lamb and rice). White sauce is a must and I liked the spicy sauce but get it on the side to adjust for yourself. Highly recommend.
Response: Thank you, we are glad you like the food. we will do what we can to serve the best food in the town. Hope you will try some of our other portion of the food too. Thank you so much for your positive review.

NadS: Took another trip from VA to DC last weekend and this is my place to get delicious fast and fresh halal food. It's definitely the closest, if not better than when I lived in nyNYC. This was my third time here. I have been a loyal customer after my first 2 experiences and talking to the amazing owner. I believe he's from Afghanistan so you know the rice dishes are on point. Unfortunately, my recent visit was not a good one. I usually order a lot of food since we live in VA now and we like to have leftovers from the fresh food New York Grill makes, and I ordered like $70 worth of food. I ordered Double Cheeseburger meal, large chicken tenders meal, large hot wings, chicken and rice platter, Lamb and rice platter, and shrimp and rice platter. I always get skeptical when I see different people working and not seeing the owner, but it shouldn't be any different right? Wrong... All the food I ordered was somehow magically ready in less than 7 minutes, which didn't make sense after my first visits took more than 25 minutes, which is understandable because they're preparing it fresh and it's a lot of different orders (and the owner wanted to have a conversation with your boy lol and I never turn down an interesting conversation). After a very short wait this time, the lady said my order was ready, so I thanked the lady for the fast service. Luckily my son was starving, so I decided to pop open his large order of chicken tenders and fries and sat down at the tables to have a quick bite. Horrible... I paid $12 for 4 pieces of chicken tenders that were small sized and mostly breading and not even hot. The fries were under cooked and not fried enough so they still had that weird translucent look and wiggly soft feeling. The first time I ordered these for my toddler son, I brought the food back to the car and the tenders were big, juicy, Crunchy, and the fries were perfect and everything was streaming hot. I knew something was wrong because the first time I ordered this, my son couldn't even finish 2 tenders. This time he was already on his fourth and I had to rip off a lot of breading and he wasn't even touching his fries. Even my rice platters were below quality level. The salad had brown lettuce and older soft tomatoes that ruined the dishes. Much less meat and rice than usual as well. This first 2 times were amazing because we drove all the way back to VA and didn't even eat the rice platters until the next day and saw that the portions were huge, good was delicious, and salads were flawless. My double cheeseburger was soggy and the burger patties were so small compared to the buns. I can tell these female employees were careless with their work. InshAllah the Owner/Brother will train his staff to have his work ethics and love into making his wonderful food that I love. I'll be back most definitely, but will not order if the owner isn't there. I'll change my rating if things change or if I hear back from the owner. Salaam BhaiJaan JazakAllah Khair ***Updated*** just went there yesterday, and was lucky enough to get service from the main man himself. He informed me that he had a talk with his staff and apologized for the service and quality of food. I dined in for lunch yesterday, and my order of 2 hot wings combos and a chix tenders combo were back on the high level and expectation I was hoping for. Didn't get any incentive (wish the dude offered something) for the previous incident, but it's all good I guess as long as the food is back to its original stature. Thanks New York Grill for a worthwhile visit. Rating updated. Salaam
Response: Salam alaikum brother NadS, i am really sorry to hear that and i will investigate this issue with my employees and the manager, i don't know if you spook to her about your order, do not worry brother you will get the same things as you always did, we love to hear from our customer.

A Smith: Born and raised in NY and I have to say this spot has some of the best halal food... particularly the falafel. It's better than some of the places in NY lol. It's not greasy and heavy like other places and the produce is always fresh. Not to mention the staff is super friendly. I've been twice in 2 days and fully intend to go back!
Response: Thank you, we are glad you like the food. we will do what we can to serve the best food in the town. Hope you will try some of our other portion of the food too. Thank you so much for your positive review.

M M: Definitely not like a real NY style gyro but it’s decent. The quality of meat can be much more seasoned and moist. Also they don’t have their own signature hot sauce like most authentic places would.
Response: hi Mr M M sorry to hear that your Gyro was not the way you wanted, i don't know what was wrong with your Gyro, we have very good Gyro we cook the meat on charcoal grill that no one does that, anyway when you come next time i will make a nice one for you, and the hot sauce you mentioned this hot sauce combination with our white sauce is very unique, this hot sauce is way expensive than other hot sauce.

Regina Welch: Glad to see some flavor added to the neighborhood. The lamb gyro was decentbut I was disappointed when I ordered the whiting fish salad and I ended up with what really looked and tasted soggy cat fish nuggets.
Response: We are really sorry for your order, instead of salad they gave you rice and salad, and you mentioned the fish was soggy, its because of the drivers sometime they take so long to pick up the order, i will make sure you get the right order next time.

Dave Anderson: I found the meat here a little too big in its chuck size - I actually prefer thinner slices - and overall it wasn't very satisfying compared to gyro sandwiches at other places I've enjoyed. Still looking for a good gyro place near ADMO.
Response: Hello Mr. Anderson, Sorry to hear that you did not like the meat size of the Gyro, We have customers who also complained that meat was thinner before, it would be great if you tell employees what you prefer, and they will make it exactly as you wish. Thank you!

Connor Kinsella: Criminally underrated spot in the heart of AdMo. Easily some of the best food in DC that I’ve had at the best value I’ve found in the city. Can get a perfectly cooked chicken over rice with salad dish for $10 that travels well and tastes amazing. Staff are friendly and helpful. Highly recommend to anyone whose looking for great food for great value. Be sure to ask for the white sauce and BBQ sauce.
Response: Thank you, I am glad you like the food. we will do what we can to serve the best food in the town. Hope you will try some of our other portion of the food too.

Abdul Malik: I enjoyed the food. And I am sure you will enjoy the food too. Please visit the place once and you will never chose any other place.
Response: Thank you, we are glad you like the food. we will do what we can to serve the best food in the town. Thank you so much for your positive review.

Jumanah Abdullah: My go-to place for a halal meal. Tastes great every time!
Response: Thank you, we are glad you like the food. we will do what we can to serve the best food in the town. Thank you so much for your positive review

Junaid Aamer: Stopped here for a quick stop. Everything was well done and tasted great!
Response: Thank you, we are glad you like the food. we will do what we can to serve the best food in the town. Hope you will try some of our other portion of the food too. Thank you so much for your positive review.

Eerkins Uyghur Cuisine: what do users think?

Tan Sav: I got take-out so i can't speak for service. This cuisine is definitely more savory than spice. Noodles are delicious. I like the honey cake. I have eaten at their other location and its better when u dine-in.

Sadhana G: We wanted to try a new cuisine for a friend’s birthday. So we picked up this place online as it looked like a different and interesting fusion. But the place was understaffed. The ambience was good and the vibe was different as we got seated in a darbaar style and had photo props like traditional uyghur turbans. The food wasn’t up to the mark. The appetizers like kabobs were really good. But, the main course wasn’t that satisfactory. We wouldn’t recommend the place for food but for tea, a different vibe and photos, the place is good.

Vladislava Kursheva: Great place with big food And tea selection. Every dish was too good, so I can't stop myself and finished all the food I got But As for me, I believe less souse will be better! And my waiter was so quiet and shy... I didn't heard a word from heam 😅

comfyfuton -: I've ordered takeout from Eerkins countless times and I've enjoyed just about everything I've tried. At this point, it seemed like I was on a mission to try the whole menu. I've had different types of noodles, like the Laghman & Naren Choop for example. The Tripe is also a fantastic choice. And you'll have to also go for the Kebabs for sure, Lamb is my favorite. I've never dined in here so I can't give any details on that, but the food for takeout has been excellent everytime. Definitely my favorite spot for Uyghur cuisine in the area.

mahnoor t: The noodles taste so good but if you are someone who cannot tolerate spices then it’s not for you. The food is very spicy but I like it. The ambiance is also very peaceful and beautiful. The service is also very good. They have sanitizer at the entrance which is also a plus point about any restaurant nowadays. You can also dine in with street view. Overall, I love the food because I love noodles. Also, it’s 100% halal.
Response: Fresh hand pulled noodles made everyday and yes we are 1000% halal thank you !

Raj N: Absolutely delicious food, combined with an amazing ambiance and high variety, made this place on of our favorites in DC! This is the first Uygher place that any of us had been to, and we found the food to be incredible. Area around the restaurant is also nice for pre/post dinner exploring, and overall we would highly recommend if one is in the area
Response: Thank you for your kind review!

Hassan M: Beautiful place to dine, with Uyghur culture vibe . Food was a bit spicy for me as I am not a big fan of spices. But like the taste of it . Service was excellent. The waitress was so kind
Response: Thank you so much ! We use fresh spices that are very unique and fresh might be a little spicy but full of flavor be careful !

Scott: We were not planning on eating here. The place we wanted to eat at was unexpectedly closed. This place was awesome! It's a strange mix of east and west Asian food. Again loved it! I well visit again next time I'm in the DC area.
Response: Thank you so much glad you enjoyed our food !

Maria Hubert: Had to express my complete satisfaction with this place. Never had Uyghur cuisine before, so I was in for a great surprise when the food arrived. The Uyghur homemade honey cake was very moist and rich in flavor. The chicken and lamb skewer kebabs were succulent and embodied with aromatic seasoning.
Response: Glad you enjoyed your first time experiencing our cuisine

Kamilla Savage: Delicious food and great service! The food was so good that we kept trying more and more dishes. We were full but didn’t want to stop eating. It was that good! 10/10. I can’t wait to come back!

Simply Banh Mi: what do users think?

Joanna Guy: Wow, Simply Bahn Mi is outstanding. As a pescatarian, it is very hard to find an incredible Bahn Mi. This satisfied my craving! I’ll be back time and time again! I recommend the tofu Bahn mi with crispy eggplant, peppers, soy sauce, and special request for moms chili sate 🤤

Khalil SM: It was the first time I was able to eat authentic Vietnamese food because it is halal, and it is the best place in all of DC. John is one of the best people to be able to talk to and seeing him behind the register was always a pleasure. This was the only spot that I would take folks who visit DC to, and each one loved it so much. Although I do not live around there anymore, I would love to visit just for some pho and banh mi again. A 5 star review does not even do it justice, I would give 10 if possible.

Praxedes Gamez: Visited because of the great reviews on here but was disappointed in the quality of the sandwiches and drinks. The banh mi are 75% bread and pickled carrots and only 25% protein. The drinks were blended and absolutely bland. I got two different flavors - lychee and passion fruit - and neither tasted like what they should.
Response: Ooof. Sorry for such a lack luster experience. If you order again, I would love another opportunity to pay extra attention to assure we give you the best we have to offer. Bread sizes may vary due to various environmental factors, but we weigh protein portions to make sure every sandwich gets the same amount. As for the drinks, I will revisit the recipe to make sure we avoid future unsatisfied customers. Again, really sorry.

Olivia Rovin: Their fresh tofu spring rolls and lemongrass tofu bahn mi single-handedly revived me during a very bad hangover. The owner/chef was so sweet. Highly recommend - hungover or not!
Response: Olivia, please go out and have lots more fun. I will have the "Olivia hangover" order ready at a moments notice. Be safe though and know that simply banh mi is on the ready.

L M: Most amazing banh mi we have ever had! So delicious. And Johnny is the friendliest person we have met so far in the US! Johnny hit us up!
Response: We'll thank you so much! I hope that you found many more friendly people during your visit. If I knew who you were and where your from, I would definitely hit you y'all up! Thanks for supporting my little dive. Visit the country again soon!

Esfaque Ahmed: Awesome place for Pho. They said all the meats are halal. We ordered lemongrass beef and beef brisket pho. We also ordered appetizer combo. Lemongrass beef pho I think is little spicy. So be careful if you don’t eat much spicy food! Service was very good.

Krishna Bhavithavya Kidambi: We did not dine in so I can not comment on the any other aspects apart from the food. The sandwich DAMN..! It’s one of the best Banh mi sandwiches I have eaten. We got the lemon chicken, cold cuts and BBQ pork. Not even one disappointed us. The sandwich was crunchy at the same time easy to bite in. The flavors were amazing. Not too spicy, not soggy as well. I would go with their recommendations about the sauce and toppings. If you are craving or wanting to try a Banh mi, don’t even hesitate this is the place to go to. The staff were so friendly. Heads up- it’s on a busy street with not much of parking, there is a street behind where you can park and walk for five min.
Response: this is an amazing review. i mean, a little nsfw language, but i'm an adult. hehe. i'm super glad you enjoyed the recommendations. they're not the only way to have em, but they're the way i like em. since the pandemic, we are only providing takeout and delivery. that being said, i'm happy to bring the food up curbside! take care and stay safe! thanks!

Humza S. Naveed: I was in the DC area for the first time due to some work and during the lunch break I decided to look up if there were any halal restaurants near me at the time. I saw the usual Kabob places and was surprised when I saw a Vietnamese restaurant come up under Halal. A little skeptical, but I decided to check it out. I'm so glad I did! It was easy to find. Lovely place. Looked great from the inside and out! It has seating for about 16-18 people all inside. Menu was simple and easy to understand. I was there with my brother and we were both excited at the fact that they had Halal Beef and Halal Chicken. Diana was the one who greeted us and helped us by explaining the type of dishes they served. Very nice person. I ordered the Rice bowl with Lemon Chicken, Peanut sauce, Peppers, and a Fried Egg. So delicious! Can't describe how amazing the food was. It looked wonderful and tasted even better! One thing though, I eat a lot of food personally and I would've liked a little more rice. While I waited for the food I talked with John. Really cool guy. We got to talking about why they chose to serve halal food in their restaurant, how they started up "Simply Banh Mi", how far they've come, and if they're going to open another one any time soon. Really nice people, location, great food, and I'll definitely be coming back again with my family and friends!

Kayo Teramoto: Love their banh mi sandwiches! Very filling and the bread is so good. A wonderful neighborhood staple.
Response: Thank you Kayo! I'm glad that you enjoyed our food. Please come back and eat lots more. My car needs expensive repairs.😁

Cynthia Shannon Burke: Chill and casual neighborhood spot. Cozy and friendly. Order at the counter. I got vegan pho with extra tofu and veg, and bf got lemongrass chuck banh mi with egg. Everything was delicious. Reasonable prices, we paid around $35 including tip for both dinners, beverages, and a bottle of water to go.

Halal Wrist: what do users think?

Queen Ampleness: The food is tasty. We ordered both the lamb & the chicken to try them both to figure out which 1 we liked the best. It still doesn't compare to the Halal food I've had on a food truck 2 hours away in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, however, based on the numerous places that I've eaten at in DC, it is by far the best that I've had. I fully recommend this Halal eatery. This place is near home too! I will be frequently visiting. ⭐⭐⭐⭐ 4 Stars!

Fatima Clark: The Moroccan flag 🇲🇦 mural grabbed my attention as I’m driving on Georgia Ave, had to stop to try the food and I wasn’t disappointed! We had the chicken and lamb gyro with fries, it was excellent ( I tasted a little hint of Moroccan spices in the chicken) ! The staff was friendly, will definitely be back 😊

Maya Leo: Finally! I’ve been looking for a spot like this since District Gyro closed in Georgetown. The chicken was so good! I did not like the gyro though! Cool vibe inside!

Thomas Ellison: Solid food, I had the chicken and gyro combo bowl and it is one of the best I’ve had in DC. Looking forward to going back in and trying the wings next time. The white sauce is fire!

Brittany Okafor: Amazing concept and an amazing team providing exemplary customer service. I also never thought I would order wings from a halal spot, but wow . . .I’m ordering the house wings every time!

Seala Matthias: The restaurant is so cute and the staff is very warm and welcoming. The lady who served me and cashed me out was extremely sweet and was so passionate about the food and the restaurant. And it gets even better because the food taste really good as well! It’s perfectly priced and the location is great; I’ll definitely be returning soon.

Moh Ganchi: Felt very welcomed by the owners, extremely kind, got to sign our name on the wall, and take a picture of the mural outside. We tried out their delicious lemon pepper wings. Best wishes!

Abdul Muhammad: I live close by and stumbled upon this place. The wings and fries were bomb! I loved how everything was still crispy when I got home. But what really lead me to write this review was how excellent the customer service was! I'll definitely see you guys again sooner than later

byron subero: Nice, clean, and cool spot. That lamb and chicken combo over rice was everything. Wings are on point too.

Kasim Ibrahim: Oh man where do I begin.. the combo platter was amazing. Exceptional quality and the portions for the platters were more than I expected. I can’t forget about the wings. Their house wings complemented the meal to perfection! Definitely a 10/10

Aladdin's Kitchen: what do users think?

Erin Johnson: I got the ground beef kabobs with some green sauce (has a nice kick to it) and the white sauce for the salad (yogurt mixed with herbs). This i was excellent. The meat is marinated a day-2days ahead of time and you can tell. The marinated chickpeas and basmati rice are a perfect compliment. Excellent food, I can’t recommend it enough!

Priyanka: Amazing food! Really fresh and tasty. They are open through the wee hours of the morning. so nice to find something with Halal options . The Alladin style pizza is fantastic. Definitely give it a try 😉

Swan: Ordered here because the rain, kept us from exploring any dine in options. This is a get it and go restaurant. Service was cool. However, I gave them a 3 star rating because they left the sauces out with my to go order. No salad dressing. But they were extremely nice. The food was good. Could have been better with the sauces, and salad dressing. The salmon was moist and flavorful. The chicken was sort of dry. But seasoned. The rice can’t go wrong with balsamic rice. It’s important to get them sauces it kinda make the meal. Also the salad dressing. The location of this restaurant is sort of on the corner of the street. No parking. Just street parking. It’s not a sit down spot so get it and go. The food would have been a 5 star! Sodas are 2.00. And water is 1.00.

Baharson: It was ok if you dont have a better choice. What they serve is different than the pic they have. Gyro with no hummus? And one cherry tomato in the wrap? And too much sauce. Lettuce was getting darker probably stayed out too long.

Yana Abdullah: Best place in town for kabobs! Tried their combo 3 and was very pleased. The bread is so warm and soft and most restaurants have very hard bread which I’m not a fan of at all. They do not skimp on the rice and chick peas either everything is just perfect!

Ivan Guerra: Almost turned away. I'd been at this place many a time at night and ate great pizza but now I wanted a kebob. The service was attentive to explain the menu amid the non-stop reggaeton. Ordered the spicy (tandoori style) chicken platter. Absolutely amazing!! Great chicken with fluffy persian rice, salad, chickpeas and fresh bread plus green mint sauce and white sauce. Delicious! Unfortunately, to go only.

MicahRutherford ShakeilAlexander: This was quite good. You can tell that the meat was marinated a day or two in advance. Basmati rice and the marinated chickpeas go together beautifully. I can't say enough how good the food is!

Md Aslam Uddin: Food and sweets are very good. Only problems are their manners. Please don't provide food in disposable containers, provide food in restaurant standard containers. And The guy, Babu should change his behavior as he should not force anyone to buy their items. Customers should choose what to buy and eat. He should also be honest about billing their items- he charged me more than what it is. As a Bangladeshi I am very disappointed by the behavior of another Bangladeshi. And please stop selling Vendi Fry at $10! That is stealing money from customers!

Julio Garcia: Gyro was very delicious although it looked like a salad. Flavor was great. The place really needs an update and they have to do a better job keeping flys away from the cooking area. Customer service was good.

Luke Dotson: I called to place a pickup order after looking at the online menu (The Specialty Pizza) and the employee either could not or would not comprehend my order. After trying to communicate, the employee proceeded to hang up the phone on me. It was an egregious display of customer service. Tues 6/14 12:30AM.

Food Corner Kabob & Rotesserie: what do users think?

Liberal Mani: Great food. Uncle is very kind. Food is cooked fresh. Their chicken rotisserie is out of this world. Please support their local business. Covid has hit them hard.

Annie Meek: Amazing. Went for the first time yesterday after a long work day and even more errands. I got salmon and spinach with chickpeas to-go and it made my day. As I left the restaurant thanking the man at the counter, he said "yes, see you tomorrow!" with a chuckle, and me with mine. As I left the doors I thought, I couldn't come every day but I'd love for this to taste that good so I'd crave it... and it did. It was enough food for 2.15 meals for me and was just great. I reheated it in the oven with some olive oil and lemon and mixed veggies just now. Ask for yogurt sauce. Ask for more. I had a left over cucumber/mayo/Sriracha +soy sauce concoction that I added on the side. Great comfort food. Thank you Food Corner!

Mia K Arakaki: Great lunch spot. The Lamb curry tho...The rare times they have the okra definitely don't miss out on it even if you don't like get okra, so delicious.

Ani Duverge: My company reassigned me to a project nearby. My first thought was that i get to eat here again! I'm so happy. Only place in DC where you can get lunch for about $7 and the food still tastes homemade. God bless this place!

Raza Shafiq Ajmi: Great Halal food. It is Pakistani food. Chicken burger is great and cheap. People all really friendly.

Sadia Afroz: Decent portions. In addition to the rotisserie, we tried the beef steak sandwich which looked subpar but was surprisingly delicious.

Rene Wallis: They need support during the pandemic. Support this excellent, amazing high quality food and hardworking owner. So sad that Covid is crushing the folks who are working so hard to make it in America. , and had achieved stability before Covid. I LOVE this food and respect the owner of this resteraunt.

Sami Sfeir: That two-star review by Abu shows he doesn't know what he's talking about. Their lamb curry has excellent flavor, nice amount of heat and is deliciously tender. Their sides are fantastic. Everything I've gotten from here has been promptly devoured. Very kind, attentive staff too.

ALI DAL: Friendly staff. Good food with large portions. I think you get what you pay for and some more. If you're looking for spicy food, they have it. They can also make it mild if you ask them. Great.

Ismail Musa: The food is great and affordable . I like the chapli kebab. It'd be nice if they opened late or served coffee/tea then I would spend more time here. Also a go to place to watch live cricket games. Keep it up guys.

Yafa Grille: what do users think?

Jessica Martin: Fresh, varied, flavorful food with kind and quick service! Good portions too. Didn’t ask about gluten free but nothing other than the pita was obviously gluten. I’m sure they’d answer any questions you have.

Sydnye White: Love grabbing a Yafa salad bowl for lunch. I get chicken, lots of roasted veggies options and all the yummy garlic, tahini sauce and hummus I can stand!

Hisham Isa: I finally got to try this place. Had the option of wrap, bowl or plate. They we out of the pita pocket option at the time. Then picked the meat or veggies. They had chicken, beef or lamb. I got the bowl with rice and lamb. Both meat and rice portions were a bit small. I loaded up on the veggies since you can add whatever veggies you want to it. I was expecting more rice and meat for the price. What could have made it better? Hot rice and meats; more rice and meats; warm pita bread that came with it. Overall, positive experience as the food feels and taste healthy. Price was a bit over $12 for the bowl. I will definitely eat here again.

Kristen Marie: I’ve never had Shawarma before, so I appreciated how helpful the employees were in guiding me toward a shawarma rice bowl with delicious toppings. Fantastic! Great food and friendly staff.

Hilda Kroll: With shawarma grills popping up all over the place, this one stands out as special for me. It's a small family owned business with a very friendly atmosphere and really good food. There are two, soon to be three, locations run by five brothers, with recipes handed down from their Old Jerusalem family roots. I ate my rice bowl there and took the baklava home to enjoy with some hot tea at the end of the day.

Jason Struck: Most build-your-own places I've been to require a bit of skill to pick ingredients that work together. Not so here. I picked everything my fickle heart desired, and the ingredients had such a synergy. Each one has its own flavor, but they complement one another. Delicious, quick, and easy.

Noor Ayoob: Man the food was amazing shawarma was so tasty definitely coming back again , this location is outside if McPherson square station close to 15th NW st and right in the heart if DC . Keep up the great work guys . You gained a very good customer.

Al: Unfortunately the beef shawarma bowl is nothing but gyro meat not real shawarma meat!! and the rice very cheap quality. Shawarma district or muncheez are much better. Place clean though.

Thomas Novelli: The chicken shawarma is pretty tasty. I recommend adding the spicy sauce and tzatziki for a great flavor combination. Service is quick and friendly. I’ll definitely return to check out other menu offerings.

sami china: Very bad manage I order with very spicy and cold sandwiches and when I called the manager to explain for him he said we don’t care about your opinion you can put bad reviews
Response: I’m sorry for your experience. We went off the order sent to us. Please accept our deepest apologies and hopefully next time we will reach out to you before hand! Thank you!

Shawarma Hut: what do users think?

Amy Clerkin: Wow! Highly recommend. We got the shawarma combo platter and gyro. Plus chicken tenders. Excellent. We even ventured back out in the cold a second time this evening to buy another round 😂 Give it a try!

Rachel L: I was pretty hesitant to give this place a try but I’m definitely glad I did! The food came out pretty quickly and it was relatively priced. The white sauce is amazing! I wish I knew the recipe so I could make it myself. The beef was tender and juicy and the fries with the spicy sauce were crunchy yet soft. Don’t let the outer appearance hinder you from giving this place a try!

Rhania Reeves: Just ok this time. I had it about 2 weeks ago for the first time and it was Breathtakingly great!!!I ordered combo (lamb, chicken, and steak) and only got a piece of each..... Small piece might I add.

Matthew J Johnson: Great food and great service, definitely recommend stopping by anytime you are in the Georgia ave dc area!!

Seth Philemon osei: I drove for about 10 minutes to pick up delivery, only to know that this shop is closed. Get your things in place SHAWARMA HUT. Thank you

weezy wick: This is my absolute favorite restaurant in DC . The food is always fantastic and Servers are also great and always efficient, happy and polite. Can’t wait to return and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend to anyone looking for somewhere to eat in DC 🔥💯

Joy McElroy: Amazing food and speedy service! The best Takeaway in DC

Jennifer Keller Jackson: It's easy to walk past this place without noticing it. Bar patrons next door at Reliable Tavern were enjoying the food so I decided to take the plunge. I ordered a chicken shwarma wrap and fries and it was enough for two people. Delicious, filling, well spiced and fresh. Ask for the white garlic sauce - it's killer.

Fahad Zafar: Delicious Sandwiches & Platters. Best for dine in& To go. Ordered from door-dash & uber eat food was awesome

Altijani Hussin: If you are looking for a south Asian attempt of shawarma (pieces of meat grilled in a saj with naan bread), which has its ethnic spices from that beautiful part of the world (which I like and respect by the way), then this is your place. However, if you are like me looking for a genuine Middle Eastern shawrma (Syrian, Lebanese, Turkish, Palestinian, etc.), then you need to look somewhere else. The name is deceiving, and it should be “Gyro Hut”.

Sacrificial Lamb Kabobs & Wraps: what do users think?

J Z: This place is a hole in the wall but serves some of the best Indian food in the city. I’ve had the lamb chops, goat curry, and lamb saag and all of them were fantastic. Lamb was cooked perfectly and the serving sizes are generous. The garlic naan is stuffed and crispy. For sure I’m going to be a regular here.

Sabrina Farmer: My biryani was okay, but my boyfriend’s butter chicken was too sweet and had no spice at all. The butter chicken honestly tasted like soul food sweet potatoes - cinnamon-y and starchy. Would not recommend.

DattMougherty _: As it happens, Washington DC does not have the death penalty. But were I to commit some heinous crime somewhere in the deep south and found myself guilty by a jury of my peers and sentenced to death, I would only hope that it would be possible to somehow order the butter chicken from Sacrificial Lamb in Washington DC as my last meal. It’s that good!

Carson Goff: My friend from India kept saying to me “Carson man, you have to try chicken karai”. Immediately I was in the search for a place that I could find this dish in DC. I stumbled across Sacrificial lamb and it did not disappoint. The sauce was rich and flavorful and had a nice subtle kick to it. The chicken and vegetables were also perfectly cooked and very tasty. The Naan was soft and the rice was good as well. Great Indian dining experience and I can’t wait to come back for more

Paul G: This place is amazing and for the price (about 40% cheaper than any other option in a 5 mile radius) - it’s worth becoming your go-to option as well! Everything from the saag paneer to the dal makhani to the staples of butter chicken and chicken tikka, you can’t go wrong! Garlic naan is awesome and they have a helluva lassi in the fridge - on the thicker side! Love this place and hope they never change!

Maddy Rai: Had ordered a delivery through Grubhub. Delivery and service was ok. Samosa plate was very good. 4 stars for Paneer makhani & malai kofta. Matar paneer & mixed veggie was meh! Not bad for a late night craving for Indian food.

Nilu Patel: Food is delicious I did Uber eats so can’t say much. Delivery was Punctual and I asked for utensils which they provided So that was good if back in DC will definitely come dine in .

Matt Parker: An absolute treat, delicious, good portions, and cheap. I get pickup from here a few times a month and has never once failed me, and often have leftovers for the next day especially if I order biryani

Anamaria Dutceac Segesten: The name of the place was the main attraction at first (we even asked why the name and the reason why is to mark that the meat is Halal). The quality of the dishes did not disappoint. I was happy with my vegetarian dish (okra or lady fingers, in a wonderful spicy mix), and my friends liked their chicken and goat (!) stews. The dal was also very good. A definite recommendation.

Nikolai Tolstoy: My favorite Indian food in DC. The store front is unassuming but don’t pass by! Great food and a great value.

Mama Ayesha's Restaurant: what do users think?

Christopher Yandell: I visited Mama Ayesha’s for a friend’s birthday and it was a great experience. The food and ambiance were great. Every dish had the perfect amount of seasoning and flavor. We went on a Tuesday night, and there was only one other party dining while we were there. Overall, the experience was great besides our waiter who was a bit rude. He walked away from us while we were ordering on multiple occasions which rubbed me the wrong way. Either way, it’s worth a visit. We payed around $300 for a group of 8

Murtaza Bohra: Great atmosphere and service. The atmosphere is quiet and peaceful, and leaves plenty room for conversation. I got the Arak, Mashawi and Arabic Coffee to end with. Each meal left me wanting more. Although the portions are relatively smaller, the flavors are refreshingly authentic. For those from a middle Eastern background, it will take you back home. Highly recommend!

Mohammad Shouman: Mama Ayesha is a really nice Arabic restaurant. It has great ambience. Service was fast, and my waiter, Alex, was attentive. I expected my meal portion to be larger. However, the main criticism I have for it is that it doesn’t live up to its reputation as “your mother’s Palestinian cooking.” There are very few proper traditional dishes—where’s the molokhiya? Mansaf? Mujaddara? Kufta? Why are so many traditional Palestinian dishes missing? But most significantly, the signature Palestinian dish, the knafeh, was very disappointing. The cheese was stale and you had to fight with a knife to make out a piece. And there was no pistachio on top. I left similar feedback in a comment card, and I hope they take my feedback to heart. I really want it to succeed, but in the meantime I’ll be having knafeh at nearby Meze (which is not as authentic but still better than Mama Ayesha’s knafeh).

Abdul Rahman Ghannoum: Great Restaurant! Food portions are balanced. Taste was amazing! Love the history of the restaurant.

Ree A: First time to try but not last, I like the malfofo mahshi and maklobah very delicious and fresh. Thanks

Kamal Almashharawi: One of the best mediterranean restaurants in DC. Excellent food, prices, and hospitality. I recommend the Palestinian-owned restaurant for food lovers! The place is easy to find, but the parking lots are limited, try to find a close parking before arriving to the place. Good luck Mohammed & Abu Mohammed, so nice to see you!

Meghan Houghton: Food is always delicious and eager to support this local business. However, revising my prior 5 stars to 3 based on carryout experience. The portion seemed to be half what it used to be. My husband and I were both still hungry after 2 entrees and a salad. The lamb shank literally was half the size of what it was when we last visited in person. And I think there were no more than 5 green beans. It was just strange and disappointing for this restaurant that we were once eager to visit.

Darcy Thompson: Great date night place if you’re looking to explore middle eastern food and even better place if you’re already a “foodie” and lover of middle eastern cuisine.Server was lovely, food was outstanding ( I had the Stuffed Squash) and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves last evening.

Hner Zebari: Their food was good, but the service was very slow.

Caitlin Rulien: Delicious food in a very ambiant environment. Smaller portions than I’d hope, but I’d definitely go back. I’d give them 4.5 if Google did half point ratings.

Bombay Street Food: what do users think?

Ayman Mobin: Amazing food with a friendly staff. The Samosa Chaat and Chili Chicken were the best I have ever had. I also had the Butter Chicken which was also delicious. If you're looking for good quality Indian foods, I'd give it a go.

Larry “Big Schlim” Mcleod: So every once in a while I’ll get an urge for Tiki Masala!! Normally when that happens I’ll go get the necessary ingredients and cook it at home. Not on this day, on this day I went to @bombaystfood for my Indian cuisine fix!! With multiple locations I went to their 1413 Park Rd., establishment. . . . Let’s get to it…appetizers include Samosas (a fried pastry filled with veggies, and/or proteins), & Raggda Patties (a potato & pea dish). They have dishes named after the rainy season monsoon like Panir Pakora (deep fried spiced cheese cubes). They have curry dishes like Butter chicken, Spicy Lamb Vindalo, & Shrimp Kadai (with tomato, bell peppers, and a spicy curry sauce). A ton of other dishes are available so check their website out. . . So this is what I copped…I started with their spicy Keema Pav (pictured a spiced ground chicken, with savory garlic rolls $8). STAMP!! It’s like a spicy chicken Sloppy Joe!! . Next up was their spicy Tandoori chicken wings (pictured with res onions, garlic, & green peppers $8). Absolutely DELICIOUS!! These aromatic, floral, wings are IT!! I’ve NEVER tasted chicken spiced like this before!! EXCELLENT!! . For my entree I chose my beloved Chicken Tikka Masala (pictured with Basmati rice $16). STAMP!! Flavorful, smooth, & delicious!! I highly recommend this dish!! . Lastly was their garlic Naan flatbread…STAMP!! I put some of that ground chicken in the bread…it SMACKS!! The Mango Lassi drink I got I STAMPED too!! It tasted like a mango yogurt juice!! Refreshing!! . . Customer service was delightful, the spot was clean, online navigation was simple, parking was horrible. Craving Indian food…go there!! That’s it. #bigschlimsreviews #Bombaysteetfood #Tandoorichicken #MangoLassi #TikkaMasala #Keemapav #Basmatirice #floral #deliciousness #goodeats #go #thatsit

Haseeb Mohammed: Such a great experience here, the food was super tasty and flavorful. We got the manuchurian chicken and man it had a nice kick!! The paneer was also really good but they were huge chunks only downside but didn't change anything to it. The Pav Bhaji tasted really good and the bread complimented it well. Overall great place.

Shameer Zahid: Favorite Indian food spot in the district, the food is creative yet authentic. I was particularly a fan of their take on traditional appetizers.

Shiv Patel: Would not recommend. There are many other competitors around. The food altogether was bland, tasteless and/ or way too spicy to consume. Those going for thali - note that it’s comprised of 6 items that are preselected and NOT replaceable. 3 items are vegetarian and 3 are non vegetarian. The cost and quality do not match at all. Save a little and go somewhere else, or spend slightly more and go to one of the Michelin star restaurants nearby. Hopefully, the quality of food changes. Wishing this place all the best.

Altinay Cortes: The food was delicious! Everything we ordered was delightfully flavorful. The butter chicken and salmon were standouts for sure. The service was fast and friendly and the prices were fair.

Mohammed Ahmed: I highly recommend Bombay street food restaurant in the nation capital Washington DC! The food was so delicious that I felt I was really in India! Everybody who comes to visit please don’t hesitate to step by and get a taste of the Indian food. Great staff, wonderful chef! I sincerely appreciate you guys😇

A B: Not enforcing the vaccine mandate! Honestly the food was just horrible. I ordered the pav bhaji and the plate looked just horrifying. The bread was dripping with butter and the the curry wasn’t even cooked properly and was floating in oil, there were just chunks of raw vegetables. It not only ruined dinner but also gave me an upset stomach.

Arshad Sayed: We tried what is considered by ‘Bombayites’ street food-Pav Bhaji, Keema Pao, Dahi Puri, Bhel Puri, and chicken manchurian (an indo china dish). The tab including tip was $48. So the good: Plentiful portions( we could not finish 3 of the dishes among the two of us) cheap, good service, and the food was served hot. Good Dahi Puri and well attempted Pav Bhaji. What missed my expectations: The Bhels puffed rice were not as crisp, too much dal, and the chutneys lack vigor. The chicken Manchurian was a poor attempt at disguising General Tsao’s in a more spicy sauce and therefore lacked authenticity. The Keema Pao, alas a valiant attempt to capture the flavors so reminiscent of South Bombays Parsi, Iranian, and Muslim restaurants — struggled to please the taste buds. however to be fair I haven’t tried the curries and hope to revise my ratings based on that in the future. Until then I would give it a 3.5.

betsy harrison: I love the samosa and chili chicken. Unfortunately, the last time I had the chili chicken it was too spicy hot. I love spicy, but couldn’t eat it. I still give them 5 stars because it’s always been great otherwise. Their chicken biryani is very good also. I get their food a couple times a month.

RASA: what do users think?

Swathi Chandrasekaran: Enjoyed the bowl with sweet potato tikkis. Their tamarind chutney was delicious too! Wish their peanut sesame sauce had more flavor to it, it tasted quite bland. Large space with plenty of vegetarian options. Ideal for grabbing a quick lunch.

Soraya H: I see it as an Indian cuisine version of CAVA - if you’re in a mood for casual Indian it’s a good spot. They also serve alcohol & flavorful house sodas.

Dilip Naik: Interesting and new. They had a lot of options for vegetarian and the food tasted good. Tou have a lot of ways to customize your bowl and it tasted amazing. The staff was friendly and the place is clean.

McKayla Chambers: Delicious meal! First time trying this while visiting DC area and very impressed. I love chicken tikka masala, and ordered their “tikka chance on me”. Great flavor and great portion size. Garlic naan was a great side with the meal.

Jean-André Moore: Pretty good spot. Think chipotle but for Indian food. Generous portions for good leftovers. Staff here had great recommendations, inside has a very cute vibe to it. Soft serve rotates flavors, including cherry blossom. Good if you want a quick bite for no wait.

Sharon Zacharia: Most authentic South India food in DC! Really amazing considering they are a meal-in-a-bowl concept. Food is always fresh. Plus they always have real good mango lassi and samosa as condiments which are great. Also, their decor is really lovely and colourful.

BMORE PRO PRODUCTIONS: Great flavors! Nice spot with goodnfood. It reminds me of a healthy Chipotle or something lol

Adriana Rec: Worst Indian food I’ve ever had! GO SOMEWHERE AUTHENTIC!It was dull and watery. The customer service was great but the food was terrible!

Genelle Cox: The workers are nice but the food is overpriced and not that great. I got a mango milkshake and it wasn't bad but it's a little too rich in flavor.
Response: Hey Genelle, Really sorry to hear you didn't enjoy your meal. We'd love a second chance – shoot me an email at namaste@rasa.co so I can get you set up with a free bowl on your next visit. We have a ton of flavor combinations and ingredients to pick from, and I know we can make you a bowl that you'll love. All the best, Alexya from the RASA Squad

Sam Viola: ordered the oatmilk cherry blossom soft serve & mint cardamom limeade both off which were easily 11/10 - everyone inside was so helpful and kind and made me feel so welcome - go here
Response: So glad you had a great time, Sam! Looking forward to seeing you again soon.

Tempo the Casual Eatery: what do users think?

Eray Idil: Great Restaurant, fast service, delicious food. Prices are pretty reasonable. Make sure to try their amazing “Pide”s.
Response: Thank you for your great feedback. It was our pleasure to serve you!

Trip Taker: We'd never had pide before and now our lives are changed. While in DC we had pide at two completely separate places by chance and Tempo has the best pide. The dough is delectable...almost reminiscent of pretzel bread in taste and the texture is light. We really enjoyed our experience here. We are hoping Tempo will expand beyond DC soon!

Pedro Guerrero: It was unbelievable flavor, the staff very polite. It was clean and very quiet place . I love the Mediterranean food it's a good taste to me. I strongly recommend Tempo that's for sure Keep going Tempo
Response: Thank you for your great feedback

Murat Alpa: Loved the restaurant, staff was really friendly. I brought a colleague to get a taste of Turkish culture and he really enjoyed it.

Liz T.: The Pide was so delicious!!! Best one I have tasted in the states. Came all the way from Orlando! Very friendly owner.

Mee Cee: This was my first time eating Turkish food and I really liked my meal! I ordered the Pastirmali Pide by accident for lunch. I really went there to order the Sucuk Pide but ordered the wrong one. It was good though! It didn't taste like "pastrami," which I'm glad for. I ate the whole thing in one sitting and will be back for the Sucuk Pide. The staff or owner (not sure who he was) was very polite and professional! It wasn't busy inside the restaurant and my wait was not long. I'd say maybe ten minutes at most. Compared to other restaurants, I'm very satisfied with my overall experience!

Hasan Dugan: A nice restaurant with parking and nice vibe. Food especially the pide is incredibly tasty. Fresh halal amazing food with excellent customer service by the owner. Authentic Turkish food well worth the price I promise

Kara: Loved the Lamb and Pastırma Pide here and Gazoz. Tasted super fresh and delicious. The owner was so kind! Would definitely reccomend

Rutuja Bawne: This was my first time trying Turkish food. I really liked it. Pide tastes so much better than thin crust pizza. I loved it. I liked their hummus and sauces. They have good variety of vegan, vegetarian and meat.

Emad Alsagheer: The food is delicious! You can make your own, which is a nice to have when you feel like doing so. All the meat here is Halal! The service is great, we felt so welcomed. The restaurant looks nice and super clean.

City Kabob & Curry House -2 (D.C): what do users think?

Sheena “SA125” I: Expected sub par...you know just a little dine in dine out spot. PLEASANTLY surprised...even with how they serve the food in the traditional pot! I was eat humming in my head. Glad I did not request xtra spicy, don't think I would have been able to handle. Never had lamb biryani but chicken and I am hooooked. It was very delicious. I wanted to try the mango lassi but I am off sugar right now. I forgot to get me the samosa. Because I am in Ft Washington for the weekend I ordered Lamb curry for my next night dinner. I do want to try their lamb shanks so might have to take a drive Friday when they will have. Wish they were in my city, I thoroughly enjoyed and the owner was very nice and welcoming. I did hear him mention outside dining, so that probably happens in warmer weather. If I visit again at that time, would like to experience. P.s. from the way I was coming google maps said turn left. It was on the right. I made many circles before I realized. So glad I kept looking 🤣

Mimi: I ordered lamb kabob,it came with chickpeas with basmati rice. Rice, chickpeas where excellent, however I found the kebabs to be dry and the flavor too bland. Maybe they didn't marinate the meat enough,I don't know. Kinda disappointed. For the price I paid, I expected more.

Minh Hien Lai: I went once for dinner and another time for the lunch buffet. Everything was great. Would definitely come back.

Sean Rambo: This place we decided to come to craving Pakistani food, itv was spicy, delicious although a little on the pricey side. Overall delicious food, come here.

Sheikh Rahman: Amazing food, amazing people. We let them know that we were there for iftar, and they shared their fruit custard ( complimentary) with us as our ordered food wasn't ready by that time.Food was delicious. We will be visiting this place. Their samosa is very big and chicken tikka was finger licking good.

Terry Barnes: After my son's appointment at Children's Hospital I decided to give City Kabob a try. I ordered the chicken kabobs and the lamb chops. They did not disappoint! I would have liked to have been given a choice of sides as I didn't want chickpeas for both but who doesn't love chickpeas. I'll definitely be going back after the next appointment.

Rana Sandouka: I strongly recommend this restaurant. The food is out of this world! Very authentic Desi food. Their service is excellent quality. Yasir is very friendly and welcoming. Very hygienic place and they follow the safety measures. I love their Butter Chicken and Lamb Beryani. Everytime I order something new, I become addicted. City Kabob is literally the BEST restaurant in town. I am officially ADDICTED 🤩

Gene Meader: Lunch bar was delicuous as I expected! Juice was better than I anticipated!

Nadiya Abbasi: If you are Pakistani woman, DONT EVER COME HERE. This man in the photo will forward your order like "ek PAKISTANI AURAT aai hay" means "A PAKISTANI WOMAN IS HERE" and then spoke some more nasty words that I dont want to repeat. This is Racist. Later he came to me and ask in English how do u like to have it "english style or Pakistani style" so I replied as you said loudly inside that "a Pakistani woman is here, so u should know what a Pakistani woman likes to eat. He did not even apologize but ignored. This is Racism and you guys should report such racist people. Calling name is always racist and I am planning to report this incident to the related authorities. Say NO to racism

Zainab Ali: Delicious halal food tastes just like home, and great service. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. Definitely coming again ! 😍

George's King of Falafel and Cheesesteak: what do users think?

Sadhana G: We were out of places to go to after an outdoor movie at Rosslyn. It was past midnight and we knew that the only place that would be open around our area would be the famous King George Falafel. We ordered a chicken shawarma wrap. Food was fresh and warm. The place was crowded surprisingly at that hour. But I felt it was a little hyped up for the quality of food.

Amana Choudhri: Amazing! Loved everything I ordered especially the lamb shawarma. Low key atmosphere with not a lot of seating and very few tables outside.

shehzan dahya: the food is always amazing. the quality of food for the price is great and they are open till late which makes them popular. this place is a vibe!

Abdullah Musalli: Been there a couple of times. Chicken Shawarma taste pretty good, love the garlic sauce and the mixed pickles on the side. We ordered falafel and honestly wasn’t as I was expect it ( cold and flavorless). The service is fast and there’s a place for dine in. I will come again for the chicken shawarma. Recommended !

Victor: I’m giving this place 3 stars but I’m going to give it another try because I need to try a different menu item. I went here around lunch time,it was clean, the place had good vibes, and they had good service. Everything was great but the gyro meat. I ordered the lamb gyro and the meat was equivalent to the gyro meat you would get from the frozen food aisle. Which was very disappointing. Edit* I tried a steak and cheese platter I still give this place a 3 stars.

Vidhi Nangia: Nice spot with simple yet great options. Portion sizes are good for the price. Close to the best wrap I’ve had but not the best. Would definitely come here again. Fries with the toum is a must.

TALIA Bfly: Food is soooo good. I come here at least 3-5 times a month. Fresh and nice portions. Don't care for the french fries but everything else gets 5 stars.

Vishnu Viswanathan: Also the King of Shawarma. Ordered a chicken shawarma combo. It was cut into bite-sized portions and served with delicious garlic sauce and some pickle. The extra spicy sauce gives a pretty good kick! Highly recommended!

Rosemary Hartline: The chicken shawarma wrap is the best I’ve ever had! My fiancé had the cheese steak and it was also wonderful. Reasonably priced and made to order- the hummus is fantastic as well!

Mohammed S: best shawarma in Washington D.C. I like the atmosphere. The staffs are friendly and kind. Definitely, I will be back soon.

RASA: what do users think?

sahil sardana: 1. Good tasting indian food with modern twist 2. A little expensive especially when it is a self service joint 3. Non vegetarian food is good with good options 4. 4/5 because there is only 1 veg option that too vegan. No paneer. 5. Must visit if looking for good and quick food.
Response: Hi Sahil! Thanks for sharing your feedback, and glad you enjoyed your visit. For future reference, we actually have 3 Veggie Main options (Tofu + Cauliflower, Sweet Potato Tikki, and Harvest Vegetables) and also have four other hot vegetables to choose from! Looking forward to having you try when you are back next, and we will keep you posted if we choose to add paneer to the menu.

Richard Hall: I don't often order shrimp but this looked tasty and was perhaps the most perfectly cooked shrimp i have ever had. The vegetable sides are all delectable and the sauces are yummy. We will be eating here again for sure. I am not a huge fan of the "bowel" fad but Rasa was terrific.
Response: We love to see that you enjoyed your meal! We work hard to create good experiences and feedback like this makes it worth it. See you again soon!

Arsha Kardani: Chipotle style Indian restaurant. Food was very good and I loved the concept. I ordered the chef curated dish, tikka chance on me. You can also create your own with your own choices. Homemade juices were good too. I would really recommend this place.
Response: Love to hear that you enjoyed your bowl + our homemade juice! Thanks for your kind words and great feedback. We hope to see you again soon!

Lou Fegans: Rasa is a fun hip fast casual restaurant with a great location! The staff always extremely friendly and helpful and they have some fun twists on traditional rice bowls (plus fun names that you can't help by smile when you say them!) A mango lassi and "Open Sesame" is one of our go tos with lamb kebab (4 lb meatballs), peanut sesame, basmati, charred eggplant, cucumber cubes, pickled onions with mint cilantro chutney, mango coconut yogurt, and peanut sauce. Highly recommend No here during covid times if the weather is nice they have a large garage style door that they slide open providing lots of air circulation and there's plenty of seating outside on the sidewalk with nice landscaping. Update 2/21/22-revising stars to 4. Having visited atleast once a month for the past year I have noticed the portions have grown significantly smaller over time. This is disappointing but understand the price pressures they are facing. See photos below for comparison
Response: While we face current supply chain issues and shortages of some ingredients, we have not changed the portioning of our meals. We'd like to thank you for bringing this to our attention so we can work with our team on continued training to ensure all serving sizes are correct. In the meantime we are trying to stay nimble and provide the same experience for you that you've had in the past!

Viraj Patel: Had the lamb with lemon turmeric rice. This place is fine if you're an office worker who needs a quick lunch but if you're visiting town and want something special I'd go elsewhere.
Response: We're sorry to hear that you didn't love your meal. We strive to give our customers quality ingredients and a great fast casual dining experience.

jeffrey johnson: After asking may I exchange a drink because my girlfriend was allergic to the ingredients I was told no. That it was not returnable which I never asked and it also was not exchangeable. I heard that this place had great food and excellent customer service, but their lack of understanding and lenience was very disheartening.
Response: Hey Jeffrey, Alexya here from the RASA team. I'm really sorry you had a bad experience at our restaurant. We aim to create a welcoming environment at all of our restaurants and meet our guests with the best customer service, and it sounds like we missed the mark during your visit. I'd love to make this right – please send me an email at namaste@rasa.co so we can process a refund for the drink and get you a free bowl on your next visit. It's the least we can do. All the best, and hope to hear from you soon, Alexya

NY Fashion: Nice place and great concept, but very disappointing food.. generally under seasoned, eggplant were tough and inedible, cilantro sauce was bitter and old, and just generally lacked the flare that south Asian food would have. 😕Came in with great expectations, but won’t be back. Someone should taste the food occasionally, and/or train the cooking staff.

Jane L: Great fast casual option with several locations in the area. Set up is like Chipotle except with Indian flavors! They also have super cute decor and indoor and outdoor seating.

c williams: The food was great but I want to talk about the young lady (whose name I didn't get) who served us. Me and a friend were out and about and decided to go to Rasa. My friend is vegetarian so we compromise on where to eat but we both like Indian. We'd never been here before so we needed a little help (this was Sunday, April 17, 2022). The young lady was SUPER nice, very patient, knew all of the ingredients (it's a lot), made plenty of eye contact and explained everything without an attitude. She needs to be cloned. Young people get a bad rap about working but I loved her attitude and patience. Is the food amazing? Absolutely. So you know, it's like Indian Chipole, if that helps. She deserves the recognition for superior customer service!!
Response: Thanks for letting us know! We're grateful to have such a great team, and appreciate you sharing your experience. Looking forward to seeing you again soon!

Your Helpful Wendy: I love Indian food so much! That’s why I end up in this place and it was perfect because they do takeout. I order one of the bowls in the menu that it was already there but you can create your own with all the different options they have. Mine had rice chicken and all the colors and spices and flavors that I always love about Indian food. The price was great!! The service was extremely good, the lady was so nice and helpful. The only thing I would suggest this place will be to change the bags because they gave me the food in a bag and I walked my way back home, my food spilled all over the bag because it’s not a big enough for the size of the containers, so it’s squishes the food and that’s how it opened and the food was all over, the good thing is that I was able to eat it at home. I had to throw the bag and I had to put my clothes to the washing machine right away because everything was dirty but at least I had my meal later that day.

Bantam King: what do users think?

Luke Chang: This place was nice. You get a pitcher of water, very similar to the izakayas in Japan. Loved the atmosphere. 2 unisex bathrooms. Service was A+, food was delicious, overall a positive experience. Restaurant was clean. Bathrooms were clean. The mango frozen drink is a must 😉. Service was also on spot. Given this place a go. I was impressed for my first experience here.

Melanie Smith: Great weekend brunch, get there slightly before they open to avoid the lines! We rolled up at 12:01 and we were already too late and waited about an hour for a table! The good news is that the wait is worth it! Also, if you live in the hood you can place and order and pick it up too. The spicy miso ramen hit the spot for my super picky husband who just spent theee years eating ramen in Japan. The fried chicken and waffles is not to be missed! The fried chicken was just like my grandmothers and the waffle was really a waffle donut. We grabbed a cookie to go for our walk home- it was crunchy and soft all at the same time! The best chocolate chip cookie ever.
Response: We're sorry the wait was so long. We are very happy you were able to try our new chicken and waffle before we sold out! It also makes us very proud to hear that your husband has accepted our ramen after spending so much time in Japan! We have our noodles and tare made in Sapporo, Japan and pride ourselves in the quality of our menu. Thank you so much for your positive review! We look forward to serving you again!

Rosie HK: After the fiasco that was the Red Eye Market, we went here. The fried chicken was absolutely delicious along with the side of rice. The chicken ramen was amazing too although I think it didn’t sit well for my stomach. So that’s why 4 instead of 5 stars.
Response: Thanks

Eric Moy: Perhaps even better than Daikaya around the corner. Gyoza was definitely a pleasant surprise - reminded me of chili wontons; just the right amount of spice. Spicy Miso Ramen was fantastic as well - I like my ramen broth rich, and this definitely hit correctly. Service is fast - in and out in less than 30 mins

Hira Hasnain: Ramen joint - awesome! Actually good - amazing? Halal, in addition to the aforementioned? Mind-blowing!!! We walked in this joint and it was automatically just such a fun, cool, laid back environment - I absolutely loved it! I ordered the spicy miso ramen and hubby ordered the chicken ramen. Both loved our ramen, and enjoyed the broth immensely. My only complaint was that I ordered the green tea which was just hot water and a tea bag. But, honestly, I was so involved with that ramen that I could not care!!! I was so enamored with their spicy miso, that the next day (we were on vacation) I went ahead and had them deliver another spicy miso ramen and their fried chicken with the rice that has the chicken drippings. Let me say, that chicken was THE BOMB DOT COM!!! Sooooo good…and a lot of people may not appreciate the simplicity of white rice, butter and chicken drippings, but it’s an explosion of flavorful savory goodness - I highly recommend it!!!!
Response: Thanks again

Megan: Gets pretty busy on the weekends, especially dinnertime. the place is small so they cant easily accommodate large parties. cute decor and fairly fast service considering the dinner rush. love their fried chicken and got the egg as well on my rice. doesn't seem like a lot at first but it definitely fills you up. gives you a generous portion of chicken.
Response: Thank you

Due Chuenchujit: Delicious chicken ramen! We ordered the impossible meat tantan ramen and load it with toppings. The chicken dimpling in spicy sauce is tasty as well. Short walk from the stadium and the national portrait gallery.

James Su: If you have not reserved to go to this restaurant, you should. It is a delicious taste of its meals. I didn't book, so I am waiting for about 20-30 minutes. And everything is worthy! I will return it one day.
Response: Thanks

Conrad: Just great ramen. Easy wait for a text when table was ready. Get a hot bomb or two to spice things up for your table. Adds good heat and flavor but not needed if you'd rather skip some heat.

Nameir M: Wow! The Nashville chicken and the Ramen are both delicious. Nice atmosphere and prompt service. Halal menu too.
Response: Thank you!!! Looking forward to seeing you again!

Dolan Uyghur Restaurant: what do users think?

Kayla N: Overall, the quality of the food was not impressive. Every dish we ordered was good, but it was like there could be something to be improved with it. The veggies included in the pearled noodle dish didn’t seem to match so well, the lamb kebab seemed to be a little overcooked, and the pumpkin dumplings were definitely just square cuts of butternut squash in a dumpling wrapper. The dessert also didn’t taste super fresh. Service was very slow as well, even though they were not very busy in terms of the restaurant itself being packed. It was good but I wouldn’t come back just because none of the dishes stood out and tasted prettty average.
Response: We appreciate your feedback, Kayla! We sincerely apologize that your experience with our dishes such as our Pearled Noodles, Lamb Kebab, Kawa Manta, dessert, and our service was not up to your standards, which is also far from ours. We will continue to strive every day to operate at the highest standards based on the expectations of our customers, and continue to offer the best service and the highest quality and authentic halal food that characterizes our Uyghur culture. We hope you give us another opportunity to make it up to you and serve you with our best. Have a great week, best regards!

Frank Tao: The food tastes all right and I completely get it when people say they are delicious and special. However, having been to Xinjiang myself, I know it is not quite that authentic. There dishes rely somewhat too much on the sauces (and the red bell peppers), which often provides a sweet/sour flavor that covers the original flavor of the ingredients. Even if you only know a bit about Middle Eastern food, you know they don't make these complicated meshed-up dishes. The service was not good. We went to there in late Jan., and I don't know why they didn't turn the heat up. We all felt cold inside and the food went cold pretty quickly. This is bad for kebabs. The waiter/waitress are impassionate. This is less of their attitude but more of their lack of experiences/not being comfortable working in the hospitality industry. They came too early for orders and for checks.
Response: We appreciate your detailed review, Frank! We sincerely apologize that our dishes and service did not completely meet your expectations, and we are sorry to read that your experience with the weather inside our facilities was not to your liking and that you were uncomfortable. These situations are well below our standards and we will make sure that they do not happen again, and if for any reason you feel again that the climate inside the restaurant is not comfortable, do not hesitate to let us know and we will do our best to make your experience as pleasant as possible. We hope you will give us another opportunity to make it up to you and give you a five star experience. All the best to you and your family!

Fiona Alison Kibblewhite: The food here is truly excellent! I got the korma chop and really loved it. The noodles in particular are phenomenal. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for great Uyghur food!
Response: Thank you a lot for your feedback, Fiona! We are glad to know that you enjoyed our Korma Chop, one of the most requested dishes by our customers! We appreciate your support and look forward to your next visit and offering you more of our uyghur specialties. All the best to you!

Josh Axelrod: Wow. This is one of DC's crown jewels of ethnic dining. You've likely never had Uyghur food before, which means you're in for a once-in-a-lifetime treat. Because of the Uyghurs' geography in far-west China, their cuisine combines Asian ingredients like hand-pulled noodles with out-of-this world Middle Eastern and Turkic flavors. The Korma Chop and Laghman are must orders along with a French press of homemade tea.
Response: We really appreciate your support and best review, Josh! We are happy to know that your experience with our dishes such as the Korma Chop and Laghman was pleasant, in addition to our authentic tea. Our goal is definitely to bring each of our clients the best of our Uighur culture through our flavors. We are happy that you keep a piece of our culture in your memory. We hope to serve you again very soon. All the best to you!

Yi Jun Zhou: For starters, I want to make it clear that the food isn't bad at all, but it just felt too underwhelming wrt the 4 6 stars review on Google. It felt too much like a quick supper mom cooks to feed her children, so there's just something missing in the flavour, not like restaurant grade food. The Kebabs lacked flavour and the other dishes were mostly saucy and generally made quite salty with lots of bell peppers, celeries, and tomatoes. The staff was nice and welcoming, but for 40$ per person, it definitely lacked umami/savouriness in general!
Response: Thank you very much for your feedback, Yi! We genuinely apologize that your experience with the flavors of our dishes did not live up to your expectations, which is also far from our standards. We will continue to strive every day to provide the most delicious and authentic Uyghur food to each of our customers and to make sure that this does not happen again. We invite you to contact us at feddback@dolanuyghur.com for further communication, and we hope you will give us another opportunity to make it up to you and ensure that we provide you with an experience that lives up to your standards. Best wishes to you!

Zhanna :: we specially stopped in Washington for the Uyghur restaurant, but unfortunately we were disappointed. The dishes are strongly Americanized, the waiter does not understand the Uyghur cuisine at all, the chiefs are Indonesians. Complete disappointment. Ребят, к сожалению блюда американизированы и не особо вкусно (((
Response: Thank you for your feedback, Zhanna! We genuinely apologize if your experience with our dishes was not up to your expectations, which is not up to ours either, but I can assure you as the Restaurant proprietor, Uyghur and originally a native of the Ghulja area, that our food has the unique and authentic flavors that define our culture. We are a traditional Uyghur restaurant founded and operated by Uyghurs who love and respect our own Uyghur food and culture. We believe food is one of the most decisive parts of a cultural definition. Our primary goal and purpose are to bring our most traditional food and flavors to our customers. This is why we called our restaurant Dolan, which is representing the most civilized and precise history of Uyghurs. We invite you to contact us at feedback@dolanuyghur.com for more details about your order so that we can serve you with our best based on your expectations the next time you visit us. Hope you had a Happy New Year. Best regards!

MacKenzie Sexton: fantastic food and efficient, friendly service! i had the mushroom salad and the korma chop with beef. They were both excellent. the beef and noodles in the korma chop were cooked and seasoned wonderfully.
Response: Thanks for your best review, MacKenzie! We're glad to know that you enjoyed our Mushroom Salad and Korma Chop with beef and that you found our service efficient and friendly. We look forward to serving you again soon, best regards!

Lindsey Stiles: We ordered take out from Dolan last night and it was amazing! They have gluten free options (I got the dry fried chicken and green beans) and everything was delicious!
Response: We really appreciate your review, Lindsey! We're glad you enjoyed our gluten free menu with dishes like the dry fried chicken and green beans. Every day we work to offer our customers the best of our authentic flavors while taking into account their dietary preferences. We look forward to serving you again with our best and offering you more of our varied menu. Best wishes!

Jarin Tasnim: Food was soooooo good. Also I got perfect flavor with korma chop. “Want to go again???” Yessssssssssssssssssss🤩. But samsa should be beef or chicken.
Response: We are delighted with your review, Jarin. We are extremely glad that you enjoyed the dining experience at Uyghur, our Korma chop and thank you for choosing us. Reviews like yours help us to improve every day, we will take your feedback on our Samsa into consideration. We are a blend of Central Asian flavors that makes us unique and authentic, but at the same time with a homemade touch of familiar taste. We look forward to your next visit and serving you with our best, we wish you the best!

Iram Zafar: The menu has a lot of delicious options so it was hard To choose from. The food was tasty and the service was fast with bringing the food out! The kabobs are super cheap, but they’re delicious. My favorite things about this place is the combination of savory spices on the pulled noodles. However, I did have to wave the waiter down quite a bit! Overall, I recommend this place!
Response: We are very grateful for your review, Iram! We are glad to know that you enjoyed our dishes such as our Kebabs and Hand-Pulled Noodles; on the other hand, we apologize if your experience with our service did not completely meet your expectations. We will keep working hard to continue providing the best service and authentic Halal food. Thank you for recommending us and we look forward to having you back to serve you with our best again soon! All the best to you!
