Jardenea: what do users think?

Wiktoria K: Beautiful setting I love their crab cake and wings, and the staff is always kind and helpful. Definitely returning. We enjoyed everything.

Karoline Langpap: Excellent meal was served. In the winter, the area is chilly. The hotel lobby is visible, and the doors are continually opening.

Se-Gil Feldsott (Louis): Bar area offers HH 5-7pm everyday of the week with some great $7 cocktails. Pre-theater menu (before 7pm) is a great deal with 3 courses for $44. Food, service, and ambiance were all very good! Great spot for a nice meal with friends or date night.

Aubrey Meadows: great place! I really love that crab cake, good ambianc and attentive staffs. definitely coming back.

Minnie C: Good breakfast. Freshly made. Fast service.

Al Heilman: Fabulous restaurant and service Best Crab Cake in the city!!Amazing farm to table fresh food...

Kimberly Kruse: Strong drinks, good crab fritters, great wings, soggy pizza

Keith Crandall: Great dinner with killer roasted brussel sprouts! Among the group we had the fillet, the salmon, and the sea bass. Everything was wonderful. The service was outstanding and the atmosphere was cozy. A great place for exceptional food and service where you can have a great dinner conversation and hear across the table.

Raphael Tisch: This place has a great happy hour special from 5-7, $7 drinks and snacks, and a very reasonably priced full plates menu. The crab cake they have right now is on point. The menu is local and seasonal, so check back often to see what tasty offerings are on the menu.

Rooster & Owl: what do users think?

Tilak Kalaria: Rooster & Owl is the real deal in DC. Their Michelin star is well deserved. Their ambience provides the familiar hustle and bustle of a city. Their service is incredibly top notch, I can’t over express their attention to detail. We tried absolutely everything on the menu and WOW it all packed tons of unique and delicious flavours that were exciting to try and warming in comfort. Their cocktails including their own whiskey compliment the menu excellently. We also had a delicious bottle wine. I must say their pastry chef went above and beyond for us as we took the dessert to go. I highly recommend going out of your way to experience dining at Rooster & Owl!

The Hero Signal: Fantastic experience. Came in for our anniversary, we asked our server for recommendations and everything she recommended was amazing. The portions are generally big enough to share between two people, so feel free to order different items off the menu and share with your dining partner. We enjoyed every single dish we were served, even the rolls rough to us before the meal and the cookies provided with the check. We will definitely go back next time we visit DC.

Chris Walker: Fantastic night out with some different dishes and flavors. Go with friends (at least 4) and order the whole menu! You won’t be disappointed. From the salmon, to the scallion pancake, the steak, and the carrot pasta. Well deserved Michelin Star!

Leon Lin: Decent price, large portion overall, varied service, average to good taste, might come again. This seemed like one of the better value set menu places here, and it met expectations. Liked the beef with the peanuts (was it short rib?), salad, bread, and dessert. Taste was good, and the peanut crunch contrast with the beef is a nice touch. Thought the longer peanuts with the fish were a miss, was afraid half the time I was eating a bone. Service seemed over enthusiastic at clearing my plates, perhaps since I was dining alone.

Lisa Pan: 4 course meal. It came with a Hong Kong style pineapple bun for bread and it was delicious! Each course was tasty and surprisingly filling. You can really tell the Asian inspired flavors. The waiters are very knowledgeable about the menu items. We picked the courses individually instead of sharing, but the plates are definitely shareable (and they recommend to). I don’t feel the need to come back and re-taste the dishes until there’s new menu items, but It’s definitely worth trying out once. The Michelin star is well deserved. We had a flight to catch within a few hours and the staff was extremely accommodating and brought out the next courses quickly. Needless to say, the service here is amazing.

Andrea Martin: Great dining experience- great service (Kai, I hope I spelled that right) and great dining experience, the flavors were great octopus ceviche was a definite standout-the menu set up is unique- 2 people get to try 50% of the taste menu for 4 courses and a set price of $85. Both cocktails were great that were tried and the drink special also came with a bottle of wine. If you are visiting DC please add this to you must try. No qualms or sad ideas when signing the check.

Diana Milena Lopez Avila: We went to celebrate our anniversary and we had an amazing time despite the fact we had chosen the patio and it was extremely windy. Our waiter, Ralph, was very helpful and attentive. The food was absolutely delicious. Because we were celebrating our anniversary we got a glass of champagne and a card signed by all the staff.

ashley sprinkel: What am amazing place! The staff was so sweet and friendly. The food was fabulous. Each course was incredible and well plated. I left full and happy. Since we went for our anniversary they greeted us with champagne and a sweet card signed by the staff. Since I don’t drink alcohol they gave me a nonalcoholic champagne. My favorite courses were the steak diane and the pistachio dacquoise. All the courses had great flavor and plating those two were just beyond delicious. I will definitely be back to enjoy a meal in the future. The outdoor patio seating was very pleasant with heaters to keep it comfortable on a chilly night.

minibar by José Andrés: what do users think?

Cynthia M: Absolutely phenomenal experience!! Husband took me to celebrate my birthday here and not only did we have amazingly delicious food, but the service was impeccable. I also appreciated the fun atmosphere they created for everyone and thought it was really nice being able to sit all around the kitchen and being able to observe the chefs create the dishes. We didn’t do the wine pairing but did order some cocktails, which were also spectacular (they do give you a few for free too!). For my birthday, they served me a cheesecake at the end and were very kind to help us take a Polaroid photo for us to keep! We were also sent home with a delicious milk bread. Absolutely enjoyed this experience and adored this Japanese inspired menu. Thank you for a memorable night, minibar!!

Ashley Evans: The cocktail experience was phenomenal! Such a fun experience for two people. We got the black truffle grilled cheese as a snack - delicious!

Yolanda Zhou: Everything was beautiful at minibar, even the bathroom. The service, presentation, and overall experience was amazing. The pacing was a little slow but was made up by the chefs plating the dishes right in front of you. My favorites were the corn and caviar, soy chicharron, nori senbei, and strawberry milk. We tried the gin and juice cocktail from barmini, which was wonderful as well.

Jesse: Japanese-inspired chef counter experience. Very elegent and minimal; inventive preparation; and unique and surprising.

Douglas Anderson: Best dining experience in the US. From the staff, to the facility to the food. OUTSTANDING

Angelique Garcia: Such an awesome experience! By far one of the best restaurants in D.C... The only thing is I wouldn’t gave gotten the wine pairing if I had known what I’d be served. Only one red, fairly sweet whites for my palate, and the pours were more of a tasting than a pairing. The food and service were impeccable though. Thank you Minibar chefs and José Andrés!

George Junca: Amazing food and totally fantastic experience, service is totally on point and elevates the dining experience overall. The wine pairings were perfect and really liked some if the playful elements like the bahn mi that looks like is served on roll but is actually made of apple, the chicharron that has no pork, etc.

Matt Watier: Second time here and it was a treat. The real standouts was the lobster and duck egg, and the forest floor mushroom dish. A great example of how modern gastronomy can bring together flavors texture and temperatures that traditionally cooked food can not.

Victor Wang: An out of this world experience with some of the most whimsical and delicious food. Service was very attentive and watching the chefs create art in front of your eyes was magical. Be sure to make reservations as soon as they release them online. The wine pairings all worked perfectly and everyone was extremely knowledgeable.

The Dabney: what do users think?

Jiaren Li: Well deserving of the accolades! The meal was extraordinarily enjoyable and our waitress was both insightful of the food and friendly. I was surprisingly mind blown by the roasted vegetables - superb ingredients and good techniques make something appear so simple but feels like beyond my ability to replicate at home.

Jessica C: The Dabney is my go-to for special occasions. It’s pricey but whenever my friend from the west coast comes for a visit, it’s our fancy/celebratory reunion dinner. The wait staff is always friendly and they pay you great attention. There are lots of little touches that make this place great (i.e., my friend and I remembered how much we loved the bread and butter last time we came, and the staff gave us tiny jars of the butter to take home with us. The butter is so good you could eat it with a spoon). The snacks/first course were delicious. Even something as boring as a radish turned into a highlight of the meal (I avoid seafood but they made great substations with the pre-fixe menu to accommodate me). The meat is cooked beautifully (though I admit the lamb was fattier than I typically enjoy — see photo) and the egg tart was my favorite dish. The drink was aromatic and lovely. If you can save up for a fancy dinner, go.

Logan Kenney: Amazing farm to table meal, definitely worthy of the star! The food was perfectly prepared and the dishes were extremely well thought out. One of my favorite D.C. spots, it’s a must every time I go.

Beth H: A warm and relaxed place where culinary artists skillfully transform foraged and locally sourced ingredients into edible masterpieces. The finished product unfolds course upon course like symphonic movements, building on a theme, revisiting subtle refrains, interposing cleaver variations, and culminating in a memorable, once-in-a-lifetime edible aesthetic experience!

Nicholas Stephens: Absolutely loved it! Wait staff was super friendly, everyone said hello coming in and thank you, have a good night heading out. Our server, Christian, was very knowledgeable about the menu, offered great suggestions and was patient with our questions. Had a 5-course meal, including snacks, appetizers, entree, dessert and parting sweet treats for the road. A Michelin star restaurant tucked into Blagden Alley, worth the trip and the experience! Enjoy some of the artwork in the Alley, as well, right at the DC Alley Museum a few steps away. To the entire staff, thank you and I hope to see you again soon. Have a great night!

Julia Gooding: We walked in and we’re thankful to be able to have the choice of the fixed or a la carte. We opted to order from the menu. Warning: portions are really small, so be prepared to order a lot or don’t come super hungry. We joked you get but a dab of food (a La carte at least) at The Dabney, but it’s a tasty dab! Some highlights were hen of the woods, scallops, and the wild meringue desert. But I think the dark chocolate gelato could be darker and richer. Cocktails were interesting but I didn’t find them that interesting in terms of depth/layers of flavor. Really nice staff and positive experience, but a star off because my expectations (with the star) were quite high!

Matt Monarch: Great tasting menu, but probably not worth splurging on given the other options you have in DC. The catfish sliders are worth adding. All the other food pictured was very good but unspectacular.

Christine S: I’ve been here on several occasions, and the Dabney has always been consistently great. Quality of the ingredients really shine here, and the service is stellar. I still remember my first visit when I bit into a carrot and thought “this is what a carrot should taste like.” (LOL…I’m serious though). If you’re someone who appreciates quality ingredients from great suppliers, don’t miss out! From their latest menu (as of September 2021), I tried their chilled corn soup with Maryland crab, tomato tartine, lamb, and nectarine sorbet. I highly recommend the chilled corn soup! Cozy ambiance and great drink menu

BRESCA: what do users think?

HK: We had a three course dinner and it was absolutely delicious. The amuse bouches were surprisingly delicate and layered in flavor. Dishes came out pretty quickly without delay even though the restaurant was packed on a Saturday night. Would like to visit again!

Tommy Waters: It was our first time at Bresca and I feel the need to leave a review. I don’t typically leave a review unless I’m “moved” one way or another. And this amazing place deserves any positive comment I could possibly leave and then some! From the caviar starter to the ending pieces of dessert heaven the entire experience was just incredible! One word of warning, this place adds on the dollars FAST…. But you will more than likely already know that with just the smallest amount of investigation. With that being said, DO IT! Add on the caviar, add in the wine pairing, add on the black truffle shavings…do it ALL! It’s more than worth it and you won’t be sorry! If you would visit this restaurant don’t expect anything other than a unique experience provided by the talented chef and his crew! Expect amazing service! Expect an outstanding welcome by the hosts/hostesses! Expect an incredible waitstaff team (and if you are lucky enough to have Sherman you are in for a treat)! Just expect an amazing time and pay the expensive bill with the included gratuity knowing they deserve every bit of it and more! This is not a restaurant to go to on a budget. But like I said you’ll probably already expecting it. It’s WORTH IT!!!!!

Amanda Anoh: Went there for the first time for date night. It was an awesome experience! the prices are fixed for the meal courses. The service is great and the food extraordinary. It is exactly a tasting if you will because of the portion but we got the 6 course meal, so it was filing. A simple decor but nice, with a true French approach to service as in silverware, napkins, waiters. The bar was nice as well. I enjoyed myself and will be back.

Marisa Checca: I’ve been several times. Hands down one of the best restaurants in DC. I never knew I liked rhubarb until I tried their tart with foie gras, it was unreal. The seasoning and crust on their duck breast is the best in the city. Their petit fours, especially their Madelines, are some of the best I’ve ever had. They are always generous and give us extra if we ask :) I will keep on going back and back. Their staff is so friendly and I love the decor.

Alexander O'Neill: Definitely a interesting dining experience with food foams galore. If you can, grab one of the cute spots outdoors — it’s a little greenhouse laced with cherry blossoms. I’d recommend doing the three course set menu with the wine pairing. Splurge a little. The favorite dish at the table was BREACA’s take on cacio e pepe. The main course which for us was either venison or wagyu beef was the absolute line between cooked and raw — especially for venison. Regardless everything was very tasty and the staff was excellent. Overall a great time.

Reginald Anadio: Absolutely phenomenal! Highly recommend visiting Bresca. My waitress, Alex, was particularly welcoming, caring, and attentive. From start to finish, I was greeted by immaculate service. After spending a lot of time job hunting and landing one in DC, I decided to celebrate the moment at Bresca. They made the moment feel extremely special. From greeting me with complimentary champagne (Veuve nonetheless!) to tasting a delicious wine, they went well beyond what I could’ve expected. Thank you.

Gaya B: We had a great experience sitting outside in one of those cute little houses. Staff is excellent, really above and beyond experience. Professional and personable. The place has a Michelin star, so you can guess the food is good. :) You can play your own music via Bluetooth in the little house too!

Lin Dinh: Finally got to go to one of those “a little bit for a lot” restaurants and I do not regret it!! Really didn’t think these little bites would fill me up, but boy, was I wrong. Clean, sleek kitchen, very intimate and perfect date night location. The drinks were delicious and super unique. 10/10 would recommend!

Pineapple and Pearls: what do users think?

AlixTakesaBite: Amazing experience at the chefs counter! We got 10 courses and each bite was filled with unique texture and flavor combinations. Service was also flawless, which is to be expected from a two Michelin star restaurant. It really held up to the hype. I highly recommend! ig: @whetyourappetites

Andrew Pitts: Absolutely unbelievable dining experience. From the moment you walk in and are greeted with a smile and a glass of champagne, to the exit gift, P&P delivered an extraordinary meal from start to finish! Thank you!

rebecca weaver: Everything was amazing. My personal favorite was the breakfast, which was a sourdough french toast with blue cheese and truffle, and it was one of the best dishes I have ever had. The entire experience was simply Devine. Since we went to celebrate a birthday, we even got a parting gift of a signed menu, a pineapple candy shaped as a pearl, and they made a donation for each guest. I would definitely go back to celebrate another event.

Robert Ames: Get ready for a truly special and enjoyable evening. A truly memorable experience. As soon as you enter Pineapple and Pearls, they make it clear this is your night and they are there to take care of you. We were started with a delicious white tea while we waited and then were seated in the beautiful dining area. You will be stricken by how quiet it is despite the chefs working right there. They demonstrate discipline. There is no drama here. Just absolute focus on making delicious courses. We traveled along a 10 or so tasting course. Each course is gorgeous looking. Served beautifully and delicious. The pairings - both alcoholic and non-alcoholic were spot on. What I like is it’s not just wine on the alcohol side. They had some truly delicious and unique ciders tonight and a smoked beer that was perfect. We loved all the dishes. I would say that we enjoyed the desserts more on our last visit. They were more innovative and surprising. These weren’t bad, they just weren’t sensational. They focus on taking care of any dietary concerns. In fact, you hear the entire chef gang calling and repeating the needs of each visitor as they begin. It was a beautiful evening. Fit for a special occasion.

Rose's Luxury: what do users think?

Mikayla Rose: This was our first time at a Michelin star restaurant and it was the most delicious and romantic dinner I’ve ever had. My husband and I went for my birthday dinner and it was so special. Our waiter, Ramsey, made the experience so personal and he was amazing! This was hands down the best service I’ve ever received at a restaurant from the moment we walked in until we left. Since it was my birthday, we were given a gift of a recipe and the ingredients we can make at home, as well as a raspberry tart with a candle! I’m incredibly impressed and will be returning. 10/10 recommend. Also, for the meal and service we received it was so worth the money and very reasonably price.

HK: Enjoyed all of the menus we ordered. Rose’s Luxury is a smart creative restaurant- not using any unheard or arcane ingredients or recipe, it effortlessly creates a new combination of tastes. The way it’s priced is hard to understand ($85 per person prefix for dinner regardless of what you order) and may make it relatively more expensive for some combination of dishes. Other than that, food and service was fantastic.

Andrea Bronstein: This was my first time at a Michelin star restaurant and it was an amazing experience. I booked the garden bar area mistakenly thinking it was just for the garden area in general and I’d have a table so I was disappointed when I was seated but it ended up being a great experience. Josh, the bartender, was really personable and knowledgeable and my fiancé and I really enjoyed chatting with him. The food was really good, especially the steak and eggs dish.

Megan Martinez: We loved Rose’s Luxury! Our waiter was extremely nice. The whole staff was super friendly. We got to try 6 dishes since we were a party of three. The lychee salad is a must. The cabbage and chicken were also extremely delicious. We got two deserts and a single coffee French press. They brought us a special tart for my sister since it was her birthday! At the end I was so touched to get a gift at the end of the meal which was a pasta and spice set to make at home!

Carolyn Zacharias: I came in nervously as a solo dinner and ate at the bar - I was immediately greeted by a warm and welcoming staff - from the host to each server explaining the dishes. John and Harley at the bar took excellent care of me through the creation of delicious drinks and perfect recommendations for food. I had the lychee and pork salad which at first glance seemed like a creation of mismatched ingredients, it was both refreshing and hearty. In addition I tried the leek pasta and the soy glazed chicken, both dishes I highly recommend as they are both comforting and creative!

Firefly: what do users think?

Sadhana G: Went to this beautiful place for brunch on a Sunday. The food was a whole new level of excitement! Presentation and quality of the food and the good ambience set the right tone for the weekend. But the only setback was the price. We had an Egg frittata, chicken and waffles and Egg Benedict-crab ( the chef special) and it cost us 70$. A great place to grab finger food in a cute setting !

Garner Marshall: Excellent breakfast spot. Indoor and outdoor seating available. Parking is pretty scarce around the area. Staff is excellent. Good is delicious. Music is diverse. Location is convenient. This is going to be one of my new favorite breakfast spots.

Mariia Sarlayan: Wonderful food, amazing service, beautiful interior, pleasant vibe. A bit pricey for brunch but worth it. I wish more tables outside had umbrellas for shades but even then the experience was memorable.

Linden Yee: Solid brunch, overall recommend. The eggs on the benedict were pretty undercooked but the flavors were good, and the chicken and waffles were really well seasoned. Service was pretty slow, and the staff seemed to be up against a lot. While the waiter was great, they appeared to be the only one working the entire restaurant.

Khadija Khan: The restaurant has changed a lot since the last time I was here! Really friendly staff and nice ambiance! My favorite was the peanut butter and jelly French toast with the jalapeño honey! It’s an Interesting combo but I really liked it. Our server recommended a really yummy mocktail! The food was a little pricey so I’m not sure if I’ll be visiting again any time soon, but the dishes were innovative and delicious.

Lisa Mayberry: Cute little place for brunch out of the way in a hotel down New Hampshire Street. Outside patio seating is nice for a cool day with the umbrella up.

Corduroy: what do users think?

J Taylor: We held a wonderful surprise dinner last Friday. The food was delicious and prepared nicely, compliments to the chef! The ambiance of the restaurant was perfect for our birthday celebration and the staff was phenomenal, especially Natasha!!! Everything was amazing! Thanks to Corduroy for making Friday a special night.

Morgan Fykes: Had a fabulous time back at Corduroy. The food was delicious and the service was good (poor guy was flying solo cause it was a VERY quiet night) - definitely enjoyed the meal and was glad to be back!!

Scott Plunkett: We just dined here for the Christmas Eve and I thought the experience overall was good with some areas of improvement. The service was acceptable but for the price I would have expected a slightly higher degree of attention to detail. Our waitress couldn’t really describe any dish in detail or how it would be presented when asked, and timing of service was a little odd as well. The first course came IMMEDIATELY, and I mean immediately after ordering before we had even time to butter our bread or take a drink of our cocktail, fine- but then afterwards the second course took a very, very long time to come out after we were done with the first course- just seemed a little odd, nitpicking maybe but I felt a little more continuity in timing would have been nice. We were about half way done with our dinner when someone came and asked if we were done- clearly we weren’t- again maybe too picky of me but there were leftover butter plates and other silverware on the table which weren’t taken away at the same time, just a little odd. Overall slightly slower/less attentive/aware service than I would have expected. But that may just be me using the high bar of DC restaurant service as an unrealistically high expectation. The food I thought was quite good, the tuna tartare and red snapper bisque were delicious. The sauces for each entree were amazing and the cuts of meat were perfectly fine but nothing to write home to mom about. Dessert was also very good. Overall I would recommend this restaurant to a friend and the combination of food and service was reasonable for the price point. Waitress could have known more about food and wine options and service could have been a bit more cohesive/attentive.

Keren Daniel: An absolute pleasure! All dishes are made from scratch, using the best ingredients, including desserts.

Jeff: So here is the deal. I got a dinner for 2 valued at $120 thru Verizon up program. After making the reservation I took my wife and we went to the restaurant. The restaurant is very nice and quiet with low lighting, it has a modern look to it. The lady who greeted us was super nice and gave us our Verizon up menus. Then came the server. When she saw we had Verizon up menus she looked not so happy. She never introduced herself. She took our order. I ordered green salad that was great. Then Flat iron steak with mushrooms for main course ( she never asked what sides I wanted when the plate can it had potatoes and green beans on it). I did not want to make a scene but anyway the food was excellent. Kudos to the Chef. Then came dessert it was Pistachio bread pudding, which was delicious. Other then the server being standoffish and not coming to check on us the restaurant was beautiful and the food was great.

lynda wright: There were 8 of us All LOVED the food and service. Only down side was the cigar shop next door. The smell was coming into where we sat. Several of the group were absolutely appalled. We do not SMOKE!! Understand the restaurant is trying to work out a solution. But next time we come we will change where we sat. BUT ABSOLUTELY 1 of the best restaurants in DC.

TYG Handyman: One of the best gems in DC. Wine list is great, service is excellent and food is awesome. Never had a bad meal. Chocolate tart, tuna with rice, all the soups just eat everything.

Equinox Restaurant: what do users think?

Joshua Wiley: Went here for one of my many birthday dinners. As a new vegetarian this place definitely had a menu with me in mind. I was stuffed when I left. We had the menu with five courses and enjoyed every single one of them. Amazing. Would definitely go again, don’t know the price because i didn’t pay. 😇

Archana Raju: This place has been on my must try restaurants list forever, and finally made it on my birthday. We tried the five course meal. While each dish was carefully thought through and well presented, I think the beet salad didn’t really work (it was bitter) and grilled eggplant was a bit bland. Though I don’t typically enjoy mushrooms as much, I was blown by the Hen of mushrooms dish, and absolute winner. Overall, I would recommend this place!

Sunny Sanghani: Enjoyed the vegan brunch menu; lots of food and all tasted great.

Angela Su: We came for restaurant week and it was a great deal! Loved the plant based options. We had to wait 15 min for our table after we arrived on time for our reservation but it was worth it once we were seated. The mushroom dish was delicious and the portions for all courses were huge. Definitely ended the meal full and satisfied.

Henry Jones: A friend of my family told me ages ago to eat sometime at Equinox. I finally did this evening and am so glad. I had the truffled macaroni and cheese to begin, which was served in a mini cast iron vessel and tasted of cheese and herbs in a way that I could never achieve at home. Then I had the fennel-spiced Mediterranean turbot filet. The staff were very proud of the turbot—one saw it as he walked past and said, “oh you ordered the turbot,” with a big smile. If I were on the staff of a place that served food like this, I would be very proud, too. The turbot was meaty, slightly flaky, and golden on top. It was served on a bed of spinach, a carrot, roasted heart of palm, and braised endive, and there was an orange sauce. It was garnished with fried rings which I think were potatoes and there were red berries, too. I was there for an early dinner, having planned for a long afternoon at the National Gallery followed by early dinner before the final leg of a train trip from NYC to Virginia. The staff made sure the timing was right for me to get to the train and that I knew how to get to Union Station. What thoughtful people and exquisite food. I can hardly wait to eat at Equinox again.

Cranes: what do users think?

Cynthia M: Spectacular food. My husband and I did the omakase which was 6 course meal and 3 course dessert. The food’s flavor, texture, freshness, aesthetics—everything was great. I thoroughly enjoyed the experience. We shared a sparkling sake this time and I don’t typically like sake but that was actually really yummy too. Would love to try out their cocktails next time!

Abby: Wonderful dining experience here. We got the omakase with cocktails for dinner, and the flavors of every dish were amazing. My favorite one would have to be the duck with a blueberry sauce on the side. The ambiance was great, and the service was good - it had taken a bit of time before they took our orders, so they got us oysters on the house (which were delicious). We were there to celebrate a graduation, and there was a hand-written note on the table for us, which was a nice touch. I’d come back again for their happy hour and to dine again.

Aditya Karandikar: First time dining at a Michelin star restaurant did not disappoint. We did the omakase 10 course meal and had an absolute blast. The dining experience itself was fairly typical except for the multitude of courses. The food was at times experimental/complex and at other times straight down the middle, designed to please. The balance was well-executed and we left extremely satisfied. Service was soft spoken but perfect. Quite filling as well, definitely go hungry!

Renee Ethier: Amazing experience. Everything we had on the omakase menu was delicious, beautiful, and truly unique. The decor and service was top notch. It was all what you’d expect from a Michelin star restaurant. I can’t wait to go back.

Joe Guevara: Luckily this was a business dinner because it’s definitely pricey - but still worth it. Service - Amazing; I wish I could hire the server as a salesperson. The food - also amazing. The portions are perfect to order multiple things to share between a group - they are small (tapa) sized but we were still full by the end. My highlights were the risotto, the oysters (great sauce & quality), and for some reason the enoki mushrooms on whatever dish the picture has with the pickled onion/etc - the flavor profile of that dish was amazing. Still water that costs $18 a bottle seems overkill though. 🙄

Allen N: My sister and brother-in-law took us here for lunch. It’s a beautiful restaurant space with comfortable but excellent service and a Michelin star. They’re cuisine style is “Spanish kaiseki” and they do a great job blending Japanese touches with a Spanish flair. We ordered the executive kaiseki and added on a few extras. The oysters were delicious and unagi paella was another favorite! The meal and experience as a whole was very enjoyable. Already looking forward to our next meal here!

Ambar Capitol Hill: what do users think?

Maya Bryant: I’ve been to this location for brunch twice so far. It’s a great place to go if you want to try multiple things. I went last time for my birthday brunch, which was on the rooftop floor. It was beautifully decorated and spacious for my party of 9. The food is always really good especially if you want to try new things. The crispy cheese slider really impressed me. Other great menu items include the mini burgers, beef prosciutto Benedict, and pecan and maple waffles. I would honestly skip the mac and cheese and bacon and grits, but it’s still worth a try being that you pay one price for everything. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. I definitely wouldn’t mind coming back for dinner one day.

Scott Nguyen: Came in with high expectations based on recommendations from friends and certainly was not disappointed! The food was so delicious and the service was top notch. We ordered a lot of small dishes with plenty of options for meat and vegetarian eaters. Our servers constantly had food orders taken and delivered, and we walked away very stuffed. Highly recommended.

arun varughese: One of the best restaurants in DC. The price is high but you get unlimited food of premium quality. 45$ for dinner and 35$ for lunch. The food quality is of the level of a good high end restaurant with normal ingredients. All items are small plates but it’s not an issue as you can order them again. My favorites are rainbow trout, lamb lasagne and slow cooked beef. Almost all their items are good. I did not like salmon as it tasted very bland.

Leighton Smith: Our experience at Ambar was phenomenal. One of my top 5 favorite dining experiences across the world. For only $45 (plus drinks if desired), you get 2 hours at a table to sample anything on the Balkan / Eastern European menu. Everything tasted fantastic. The service we received from Tamara and others was 5-star. I cannot believe how flavorful everything was. What an awesome cultural experience. Thank you Ambar!!

Doris Becerra: I enjoy this place... I love it. All the food was great!! I would recommend! The lunch was amazing and very quite place. I went with my baby, my mother and husband and all was perfect! The waitress was phenomenal and very nice!! She explained how its works and she brings to us every plate that we want it repeat! We love it the place. Some photos of the lunch.. but I must take more photos!!

Stefan Tobler: Wow, this was my first bottomless brunch experience in DC and I’m glad it was. Ambar is a hell of a deal with some delicious food and exciting atmosphere. The photos below are from breakfast but their dinner is equally as fun! HIGHLY recommend, one of the only places I find myself at time and time again bringing all my new guests!

Gina Abrams: Me and the crew had a great time! We went for brunch. We were seating as soon as we arrived! Melissa was an excellent host! She kept the food coming. Everything was good (except for the bacon was too salty, I typically eat turkey bacon). Make your reservations today!

Brittani Spaulding: My absolute favorite brunch spot ever. All you can eat food and drink for under $50 pp. Can’t beat it. Everything on the menu is tasty and the drinks are good. Make a reservation ahead of time. Make sure you come hungry and thirsty, the service is always great and plates and drinks are refilled quickly.

Viraj Patel: Great $35 unlimited plates brunch on the weekend. Be sure to get here at least an hour before closing so you have time to order all the plates. Best items: cheese pie, salmon Benedict, veal soup, kale Caesar, Balkan salad, grilled steak, fried chicken slider, pecan and maple waffle.

CIRCA at Foggy Bottom: what do users think?

Kelly Crenshaw: We were going to another spot and one of my group said "what about here" as we came out of metro. They had a large party cancel so we were able to get in. Everything was great. Food was fantastic and we all were happy leaving. The mac and cheese might be there best I have ever had. I been thinking about and I can not remember a better bowl of mac and cheese... it was that good.

Jessica R: We decided to come here on a whim and thoroughly enjoyed our meal. We came for more of a late lunch/early dinner and even though we did not have reservations they still were able to seat us. They did have to seat us in their outdoor area, which was a little chilly but perfectly fine. Our server was very pleasant and attentive. The food was great! I got the blackened chicken mango salad and my mom got the barbecue chicken flatbread. Both were very good

Lori Kusterer-Farley: Great dining experience for our family ! Foodie place ! Loved the outdoor tent with heaters. Burger, wings and shrimp salad were amazing! Would definitely return ! Walking distance to a DuPont circle.

Ron Milkowski: Stopped in for a quick drink. Great bartender. Seems like a college crowd. Would definitely be back for dinner. Recommended.

Jessica Morales: This lovely corner is perfect, the menu is not big, but it has a good selection of different options. We had as an appetizer tuna poke nachos, the flavor combination and the fresh tuna was so delicious, and as a entree jambalaya, the spicy was on point and the penne pasta cooked to perfection, my husband ordered a braised short rib, the meat was so tender, the mash potatoes has this smooth texture so perfect. Thank you Michael, great service.

Reverie: what do users think?

Christine S: Reverie’s one of the most underrated restaurants in DC right now, and I regret not coming here sooner. I had the 16-course chef’s counter menu, which was all-around excellent and inventive. I especially enjoyed the seafood courses: the tuna, razor clam, scallop, and skate dishes were delicate yet complex in flavor and beautiful in presentation. Any restaurant with 4 courses of dessert will win my heart. Loved the pistachio meringue tart and the petit fours! The beverage menu was fantastic as well. I hardly drink alcohol so I always order a mocktail when I’m dining out. “Into the Woods” was by far the best mocktail that I’ve ever had; it consists of a coffee base, non-alcoholic bourbon, and black walnut bitters. I also tried a delicious non-alcoholic wine that was not glorified fruit juice. Service was great and unpretentious! Chef Johnny Spero is so friendly and easy to chat with.

P Ak: Great food, great service and a good value considering the quality, creativity and delivery. The chef himself serves some of the dishes and tells you the story behind the dish. Loved the starters, the cod, brisket and desserts. The rest was wonderful also.

Brando Swartz: You will naturally gravitate to enjoyment with this food experience. The artistry has increased since 2018 with this great chef. This is a DC must!

Paige Cooper: This dinner was amazing, every dish was great. Such a phenomenal experience!

Andrew (Noh Leftovers): August 2019 Tasting Menu: - Pickled Kumamoto Oysters - Sungold Tomatoes - Kombu Cured Scallops - Monkfish | Mussel Dashi - Lamb | Wild Allspice | Berries - Reverie Burger - Blueberries with Pine - Sour Cherry w/Bergamot - Birch Ice Cream - Frosted Shiso Leaf

Jenn C: What an incredible tasting! Upscale and inventive menu, impeccable presentation, and amazing service. The Reverie deserves a Star, yet the Chef and staff are friendly and unpretentious. We will be back.

Anthony Tallotte: It’s our third time in Reverie and it’s simply amazing! Tucked away in a little alleyway in Georgetown is this great restaurant serving beautiful elaborate dishes. They look great, they smell incredible and more importantly they are delicious! We fell in love with this place! Its cool and hip atmosphere, friendly staff, and great food makes it a definite must for any foodie in town! Enjoy! PS: Try the duck!

Le Diplomate: what do users think?

Thang Phu: Highly recommended! We stopped by for a late afternoon food one day and was amazed at how fantastic the food is. It was all so good, especially their desserts. I have travelled to multiple regions in France and I can attest the food here tastes the closest to food in France. They even have a wine carafe on the menu, just like France. I wished I lived near here so I could go treat myself now and then.

mike wittenburg: Five Stars for the food and the atmosphere. Visited on a busy Saturday evening and got a table without a reservation, amazing. So much seating available. Indoor and outdoor seating. Went with a couple of friends and the drinks and food were fabulous. Tuna dish is a small serving. Trout was great and the muscles were awesome. Apple dessert and vanilla creme brulee delicious. Definitely a popular spot. And the bread... So much bread... Good variety of bread to choose from. Enjoy!

Daae Katsicoyannis: The meal was incredible. I recommend going with friends and sharing everything. The service was also impeccable. You can tell that all ingredients at this restaurant are fresh and of excellent quality. It’s rare to find such an approachable restaurant of this league. I would recommend to anyone.

brian perkins: Loved this place for a few reasons. Let’s start with the bread. Why can’t all restaurants serve great, fresh, delicious bread? Because it’s not easy. I pictured the empty escargot plate because after dipping the bread in the garlic sauce it was game over. Add onion soup, superb steak frites, profiteroles to die for and you have a neighborhood gem. Not to mention the wait staff gives treats to dogs being walked by the restaurants. How great is that?!

Rob: The food and ambiance are always great. However, on multiple occasions, I’ve felt that the service is not what you’d expect from a restaurant of this caliber. Last time I felt a bit rushed and the service, while attentive, was curt. When our entrees arrived, a waiter couldn’t fully reach to place my friend’s plate in front of him. Rather then walk around the table (there was space), the waiter placed it on the table and gave the plate a quick flick of the wrist to push it over. It’s a small example but I think captures a similar sentiment seen in other reviews about the service.

Karissa Warren: Had an awesome food experience on New Years! Was a little disappointed they didn’t have their usual pastry assortment but every single item we got was delicious!! We really came for the pastries and croissants but were blown away by the food! If you want an authentic French croissant, they’ve got you covered! We will definitely be back!

Dee Ketterman: We’ve eaten here twice and love the food and decor. The feel of the restaurant more resembles an upscale bar with delicious food, as most people are standing and drinking rather than eating. I’d like to try sitting at the bar because I think it’d be a better experience to fit the atmosphere over a low table with people standing all around. The mushroom tart is fantastic and the French onion soup is the best I’ve ever had! The service was dressed appropriately but less attentive than expected, most likely because of how busy it seems to get. Regardless, I really like the food and hope to visit again soon.

Bibiana Oe: Very cute upscale dining experience! The waiter had many recommendations that were appealing. The bread with the butter is amazing! Ordered assorted oysters, mushroom tart, beef bourguignon, mussels and frites, and the profiteroles. Loved everything and it was good portions! Recommend for a lovely cozy dining in experience since the bar and inside of the restaurant is super unique!

Seven Reasons: what do users think?

Meia Harris: I was overjoyed to find out they offer a vegetarian tasting menu option. Each course was delicious and beautifully presented. Dessert happened to be my favorite- it was refreshing, light, and not too sweet. The customer service was exceptional as well. I looked forward to dining here again!

Jackie Ellis: This restaurant is definitely all about the experience. Each dish that arrives at your table is broken down and explained. Our waiter gave us a little history on the range of Latin countries that inspired each dish. The decor was very nice as well. It was also explained how the serving sizes ranged from small to large. They recommend 2-4 dishes per person, so beware and come prepared because this place is a little pricey.

Lauran: We reserved the chef’s table to host clients and the entire experience was exceptional. The tasting menu consisted of 6 courses that were beautifully presented and we opted to add on the wine pairing for each course. The food was absolutely impeccable, and the level of service that we received was simply unmatched. The 7 Reason’s team were warm, attentive and pulled out every stop to make sure we had a top-notch experience. The Chef-Owner came out ahead of service to greet and thank us for dining with his team for the evening. They went above and beyond to accommodate food allergies and preferences, and even made sure to include different mocktails for me with each course since I don’t drink. Our clients kept asking how we found this place, and were blown away with the experience. 10 out 10 will return and would recommend. Thank you to the entire 7 Reasons team for making it easy for us to impress and entertain our clients!

Christine Whited: Amazing experience - great food, cocktails, and service! We tried the a la carte items and loved the arepas, scallops, halibut and short rib! Our favorite cocktails were the Bourbon Street and the Mule. Next time we are in DC, we plan on trying the chef’s tasting menu! Shout out to Miguel and Darwin for providing great recommendations & wonderful service! 😊

Zeyu Hu: Dining at seven reasons is an event. The menu is listed out in 4 different sections. The first two sections are more appetizer style, while the last two were your entree dishes. Every dish is served family style. We had 5 people dine together and thus was able to get 3 thing from each section which allowed us to try a wide variety of different dishes. Each section stood out in its own way, and all the flavors were different but worked so well as a whole. Some of my favorites included the crispy pork belly, the duck, the octopus, and the lobster black rice dish. The staff was super attentive to our every need and the food came out at a relaxing but steady pace. The restaurant also constantly changes their menu so would love to come back and try another menu!

Christine S: I’ve been here a couple times, and the food is always spectacular. Service, however, is inconsistent. During my most recent visit, I sat around for nearly 20 minutes before someone asked about water. Past experiences are usually not like this - service is typically a well oiled machine. My 5-star rating is mainly about the food, since Seven Reasons remains as one of my most highly recommended restaurants in DC. The signature dish is the tartare de lomito! It’s available a la carte and on the tasting menu I’ve tried. The soy cured yolk with the tartare, caramelized sesame seeds, and plantain is nothing short of amazing! During the most recent visit, I tried items from the Carlos Garcia takeover. The soft shell crab mini arepas was a popular dish - it was alright. I loved the Chilean sea bass with bomba rice and the dessert of Dulce de leche foam, pink guava and passion fruit jelly, toasted milk. Before the pandemic, it was difficult to score reservations to this place. Come here soon and support great restaurants like these!

Brian Copes: My date took me here for his birthday dinner and it was excellent in terms of food and service! Food - loved the scallop curry dish and the cauliflower soup shot dish. My third favorite dish was the hamachi tiradito dish. It was buttery and just plain good. I don’t drink so I enjoyed the mocktails as well. My favorite was the limonada personally with the ginger beer. Service- excellent service with food descriptions, silverware changes, checking in on you, offering best ways to eat the food, and just professional, warm and friendly. Fine dining without the stiffness. Vibe - nice music and great to sit at the chefs table watching the kitchen in action. Bathroom- clean and nice soap as well. Overall, this is a true foodie restaurant experience to enjoy. I would recommend this place!

Elizabeth's Gone Raw: what do users think?

Michael Condor: Took my wife (a vegan) here last month for her birthday and we both had an incredible time. As a non-vegan, I thought the meals and experience were great. We enjoyed all the dishes on the prix fixe menu along with some tasty mocktails. The staff is what really made this place spectacular—so polite and friendly. Will definitely be back next year for birthday celebrations!

Caileigh Feldman: My brother took me out to dinner to celebrate my 29th birthday and we had the best meal ever! I asked in advance for a fully raw 6-course experience and my bother did the vegan 6-course, so we had fun sharing bites. We each got a drink and they were wonderful. We started with the caviar plate which is SO worth it and an experience that you’ll never forget. Each small plate of the meal was absolutely delicious and prepared with such exquisite creativity. We enjoyed every bite. The dishes are so beautiful that it feels like you are eating edible art. We had a blast chatting to the passionate waitstaff (such as Ben) throughout the meal and hearing some of the stories behind the beautiful paintings from Elizabeth herself. My brother and I agreed that this was one of the best meals of our lives. Without a shadow of a doubt, we will be back time and time again to try the different seasonal menus. The biggest thank you to Elizabeth, the fantastic Chef Francisco Hernandez and the wonderful team. Every single person made us feel so special and cared for.

Jeffrey F: Easily one of - if not the best - meals of my life, in any city, anywhere! So incredibly delicious from start to finish. Wonderful ambiance, attentive and knowledgeable wait staff - everything you could want for in a meal. Drinks were delicious, too. Whether vegan or not, this place is absolutely worth your time. Can’t wait to return and try the new seasonal menu next time.

Corrie Byers: This was our first time having a fancy 5 course meal like this and it was incredible. The menu is seasonal was just creative and delicious. Everything we had was unique and full of flavor. Each course was explained by our wonderful server with not only what it was but how it was prepared and where the food came from. The restaurant was beautiful and quaint and all the staff was phenomenal. We were visiting DC for our honeymoon and they brought out a candle in celebration. It was very pricey for us but well worth the price for the entire experience.

Jamie Howard: Impeccable service, thoughtful and delicious food! My dinner mates consisted of two vegans, one plant based, and myself an omnivore. The plating was beautiful with layers of flavor with each successful course. Ideal for a nice date night. Our favorite thing was the kale chips!!! They look pretty plain but oohwee lol. The owner took pity on us and brought us seconds after watching us pick at the crumbs in the first bowl. Will definitely be back!

Simon A: Have to say this hidden Gem in the wonderful city of DC was worth the experience! From the entryway to the ambiance upstairs in their dining space. All the waiters and waitresses were incredible, from start to finish and compliments to the chef for amazing fine dining tasting options. If you are to ever find yourself in downtown DC stop here and experience the vegan “CAVIAR”!! Yes I said it “VEGAN CAVIAR”, for a first time experience in having this delicacy I was blown away. The entire food menu from the appetizer to the main course to the dessert was incredibly sensational along with a spectacular display of each one. Can’t forget the bartender who made the most amazing Mezcal Old Fashioned using the vida organic mezcal tequila. The Smokey earth tones from the mezcal and finished with the right bitters and simple syrup, lastly with the solid rock cube in a wide mouth rocks glass thank you!!!!! To all the staff thank you for the experience as we had an amazing time and great birthday celebration in your establishment and will look forward to another dinner the next time we are in DC.

Mazi DC - New American Cuisine: what do users think?

Hilda Kroll: A really nice place for lunch. The service was great and my friend and I really enjoyed our food. My lamb burger was large, juicy, and delicious and my friend enjoyed her Mediterranean salad. Nice and clean, tables not too close together, so we felt very comfortable dining in. And beautiful fresh flowers at every table.

K Scott: Cute place and I enjoyed the food, went here last night for New Year’s Eve with my daughter and her dad. We enjoyed our selves staff were really nice. Lamb chops were really really great. My little sister told me come here after going for her birthday a few months ago.

Emily C.: This restaurant just cross street from the hotel where we stay, so convenient. The waitress and waiter were friendly, Loved the food, cooked just right, perfect taste.

Keshia Wideman: First time experiencing the Mazzi. I must say the food chicken kabob, and honey feta cheese was superb, but yes but, the waiter was not welcoming, or really pleasant at all. The owner/ manager I believe was very pleasant, and explanatory of our concerns. We celebrated my daughter’s 18th birthday here tonight. Definitely a nice ambience, just in my opinion the waiters could be more pleasant to casual guest of mixed aged people.

Marina Figueroa: Love the ambiance. Food was delicious as well as the wine. Service was also exceptional.

Andrea Smith: They accommodated our group of 45 well. We super appreciate the deliciousness of the food, attentiveness, and great service. A group that size is hard but they delivered consistent and delicious meals to all.

David Manalan: We were staying nearby, and stopped in at lunchtime to get out of the heat and relax with food and beverage. The hamburgers we ordered were outstanding. The staff was very friendly and attentive. We were intrigued by the menu so we returned for dinner- outdoors. Chicken Kabobs and the Wine Roasted half chicken were absolutely wonderful. We returned for a number of additional meals, and the wait staff and owner not only recognized us, they welcomed us as though we were old friends. A definite 5 star place.

The Red Hen: what do users think?

Vikram Seshadri: Amazing service, great ambiance and delicious food. The portions are small/personal for the price but delicious nonetheless. Had a few amazing vegetarian options and the waiter was kind enough to explain everything to us.

Rose A: All natural wines by the glass paired with amazing food and a large, airy bar in a rustic setting. Very friendly bartenders too. The whipped ricotta crostini was one of the best things I’ve ever had, and yes you can order Cacio e Pepe off the menu and it’s delicious. A lovely gem!

Kit Lai Pine: After trying for 6 years and failed to get a reservation at the time we wanted when we visited our college kids in DC, we finally got to dine at Red Hen on Saturday night. Every thing we ordered the chicken liver mousse, bruschetta, sausage pasta, squid ink spaghetti, pork chop and dessert were delicious. The pork chop was moist and scrumptious. The two pastas were so flavorful. Probably the best Italian restaurant in DC. Service was great. Can’t wait to dine at Red Hen again.

Ying Liang: I was today years old when I learned that antipasta means first course/small plates, and not “not-pasta” lol. We stopped by with dinner reservations on a Sunday night. The restaurant is a bit dark but the ambiance is great. Our waitress was kind and knowledgeable. The food was fantastic! Really felt like an elevated dining experience. Grilled Spanish octopus was so tender and flavorful. Risotto balls were crispy and bold. Squid ink linguini was the best pasta I’ve had in the states. Definitely check this place out if you get the chance to treat yourself!

Eugenia Kim: Omg! This place did not disappoint. This Italian restaurant had amazing ambiance when walking in and a perfect date night spot and small gathering. Reservations are highly recommended. And if dining in you will be charged an extra 20% gratuity to help fund the restaurant for covid recovery. Which we didn’t care! The service was fast and our waiter was so friendly and gave us great recommendations.

Chelsea Morante: !!!TOURIST REVIEW!!! My mom and i visited this restaurant Labor Day weekend on my first trip to DC. We stayed at a near by air Bnb that recommended the place and honestly I’d one of the BEST restaurants yet. The food was absolutely amazing so much flavor very true to the authentic Italian restaurant feel. Love the open kitchen experience. We sat at the bar where our bartender Ely was the most amazing person ever. She helped me convince my mom to try things she wouldn’t normally eat while also recommending some Divine red wines. She was so great throughout the whole experience it made it that much more enjoyable. I recommend this place to anyone and everyone. #OutofTownerCritic

Ariel Koch: Stopped in for after dinner drinks and desert, the bar staff was amazing!Aperol spritz, Tiramisu, Espresso martini & Ginger Pearl

Abby: The food here is TOO good. Probably the best Italian place in DC. Can’t wait to go back and try more dishes. The pasta dishes were excellent and I appreciate the reasonable prices.

SUCCOTASH: what do users think?

Bryan Mroz: Went on a Friday evening. It was full but we had reservations and we were seated quickly. Service was a bit slow but our waitress was friendly and knowledgeable. Food was perfect. We had Shrimp and Grits and Catfish. Great ambiance. There was love music mostly soul and jazz.

Vin D Sr.: Amazing menu and a fine meal. Staff was great and we enjoyed the atmosphere! Chicken and waffles outstanding as was the smoked steak! Sides were awesome too! So good we had to take a few orders to go! Highly recommend. Make a rez to secure a table at this hot spot.

Chris Taylor: Amazing space with comfy booths. They had live music which was a nice touch. The staff were friendly and attentive. The food was good, I enjoyed some food came as starters. Loved the milk punch cocktail and the honey old fashioned. A good spot.
