Jardenea: what do users think?

Wiktoria K: Beautiful setting I love their crab cake and wings, and the staff is always kind and helpful. Definitely returning. We enjoyed everything.

Karoline Langpap: Excellent meal was served. In the winter, the area is chilly. The hotel lobby is visible, and the doors are continually opening.

Se-Gil Feldsott (Louis): Bar area offers HH 5-7pm everyday of the week with some great $7 cocktails. Pre-theater menu (before 7pm) is a great deal with 3 courses for $44. Food, service, and ambiance were all very good! Great spot for a nice meal with friends or date night.

Aubrey Meadows: great place! I really love that crab cake, good ambianc and attentive staffs. definitely coming back.

Minnie C: Good breakfast. Freshly made. Fast service.

Al Heilman: Fabulous restaurant and service Best Crab Cake in the city!!Amazing farm to table fresh food...

Kimberly Kruse: Strong drinks, good crab fritters, great wings, soggy pizza

Keith Crandall: Great dinner with killer roasted brussel sprouts! Among the group we had the fillet, the salmon, and the sea bass. Everything was wonderful. The service was outstanding and the atmosphere was cozy. A great place for exceptional food and service where you can have a great dinner conversation and hear across the table.

Raphael Tisch: This place has a great happy hour special from 5-7, $7 drinks and snacks, and a very reasonably priced full plates menu. The crab cake they have right now is on point. The menu is local and seasonal, so check back often to see what tasty offerings are on the menu.

Zibby McKerrow: We had dinner at Jardenea for Christmas Eve this year and it was a fantastic experience. Even if the food had been substandard (it wasn't) the experience would have rated 5 stars anyway because the service was way above par. I think for our group of 7, we nearly had a server for each of us! The food was excellent and the wine that was suggested to pair with my meal was spot on. We had a great time and if we come back to DC again, we will be sure to visit again. Highly recommended!

Rooster & Owl: what do users think?

Tilak Kalaria: Rooster & Owl is the real deal in DC. Their Michelin star is well deserved. Their ambience provides the familiar hustle and bustle of a city. Their service is incredibly top notch, I can’t over express their attention to detail. We tried absolutely everything on the menu and WOW it all packed tons of unique and delicious flavours that were exciting to try and warming in comfort. Their cocktails including their own whiskey compliment the menu excellently. We also had a delicious bottle wine. I must say their pastry chef went above and beyond for us as we took the dessert to go. I highly recommend going out of your way to experience dining at Rooster & Owl!

The Hero Signal: Fantastic experience. Came in for our anniversary, we asked our server for recommendations and everything she recommended was amazing. The portions are generally big enough to share between two people, so feel free to order different items off the menu and share with your dining partner. We enjoyed every single dish we were served, even the rolls rough to us before the meal and the cookies provided with the check. We will definitely go back next time we visit DC.

Victoria Gesell: Decently executed meal with some highlights & a couple of low points. We enjoyed the variety of options in the four courses and how each course was intended to be shared amongst the table. The Gnocchi & Kale entree and the Mackerel left a whole lot to be desired, but the Octopus, Short ribs and Duck plates were great. While I wasn't blown away by flavors or techniques, the staff were friendly and efficient and we all left satisfied- not too full, but not hungry. We might be back to see how the seasonal menu changes.

Chris Walker: Fantastic night out with some different dishes and flavors. Go with friends (at least 4) and order the whole menu! You won’t be disappointed. From the salmon, to the scallion pancake, the steak, and the carrot pasta. Well deserved Michelin Star!

Kessashun Arthur: For starters, everything about the service I received made this feel like a warm, friendly, high-end experience. The prix fixe menu was creative with hints of culinary genius and it changes periodically (seasonally?); most diners probably never had these exact dishes before. They use very fresh, wholesome ingredients and execution was nearly flawless on every dish. If I'm nitpicking anything, my duck could have been a little more tender. Flavors were 8/10 across the board. Subtle, earthy, flavors dominated each course; nothing will punch you in the mouth. I don't think I'll every forget that tarragon froyo with my dessert; twas' an unexpected ingredient usage that produced excellence! Overall, I had a very solid experience. Portions are small-ish, but at $10 per extra course, there's incredible value in ordering as much as your heart desires. Rooster & Owl is deserving of their Michelin Star!

Leon Lin: Decent price, large portion overall, varied service, average to good taste, might come again. This seemed like one of the better value set menu places here, and it met expectations. Liked the beef with the peanuts (was it short rib?), salad, bread, and dessert. Taste was good, and the peanut crunch contrast with the beef is a nice touch. Thought the longer peanuts with the fish were a miss, was afraid half the time I was eating a bone. Service seemed over enthusiastic at clearing my plates, perhaps since I was dining alone.

Lisa Pan: 4 course meal. It came with a Hong Kong style pineapple bun for bread and it was delicious! Each course was tasty and surprisingly filling. You can really tell the Asian inspired flavors. The waiters are very knowledgeable about the menu items. We picked the courses individually instead of sharing, but the plates are definitely shareable (and they recommend to). I don’t feel the need to come back and re-taste the dishes until there’s new menu items, but It’s definitely worth trying out once. The Michelin star is well deserved. We had a flight to catch within a few hours and the staff was extremely accommodating and brought out the next courses quickly. Needless to say, the service here is amazing.

Andrea Martin: Great dining experience- great service (Kai, I hope I spelled that right) and great dining experience, the flavors were great octopus ceviche was a definite standout-the menu set up is unique- 2 people get to try 50% of the taste menu for 4 courses and a set price of $85. Both cocktails were great that were tried and the drink special also came with a bottle of wine. If you are visiting DC please add this to you must try. No qualms or sad ideas when signing the check.

Diana Milena Lopez Avila: We went to celebrate our anniversary and we had an amazing time despite the fact we had chosen the patio and it was extremely windy. Our waiter, Ralph, was very helpful and attentive. The food was absolutely delicious. Because we were celebrating our anniversary we got a glass of champagne and a card signed by all the staff.

ashley sprinkel: What am amazing place! The staff was so sweet and friendly. The food was fabulous. Each course was incredible and well plated. I left full and happy. Since we went for our anniversary they greeted us with champagne and a sweet card signed by the staff. Since I don’t drink alcohol they gave me a nonalcoholic champagne. My favorite courses were the steak diane and the pistachio dacquoise. All the courses had great flavor and plating those two were just beyond delicious. I will definitely be back to enjoy a meal in the future. The outdoor patio seating was very pleasant with heaters to keep it comfortable on a chilly night.

minibar by José Andrés: what do users think?

Cynthia M: Absolutely phenomenal experience!! Husband took me to celebrate my birthday here and not only did we have amazingly delicious food, but the service was impeccable. I also appreciated the fun atmosphere they created for everyone and thought it was really nice being able to sit all around the kitchen and being able to observe the chefs create the dishes. We didn’t do the wine pairing but did order some cocktails, which were also spectacular (they do give you a few for free too!). For my birthday, they served me a cheesecake at the end and were very kind to help us take a Polaroid photo for us to keep! We were also sent home with a delicious milk bread. Absolutely enjoyed this experience and adored this Japanese inspired menu. Thank you for a memorable night, minibar!!

Ashley Evans: The cocktail experience was phenomenal! Such a fun experience for two people. We got the black truffle grilled cheese as a snack - delicious!

By Night We Can Be More: It was awesome! I had no idea that I can taste so much flavors! I am sure we will come back in there. Atmosphere is great, you feel like part of the kitchen, having fun, enjoying the food... It's wonderful experience!

Yolanda Zhou: Everything was beautiful at minibar, even the bathroom. The service, presentation, and overall experience was amazing. The pacing was a little slow but was made up by the chefs plating the dishes right in front of you. My favorites were the corn and caviar, soy chicharron, nori senbei, and strawberry milk. We tried the gin and juice cocktail from barmini, which was wonderful as well.

Jesse: Japanese-inspired chef counter experience. Very elegent and minimal; inventive preparation; and unique and surprising.

Douglas Anderson: Best dining experience in the US. From the staff, to the facility to the food. OUTSTANDING

Angelique Garcia: Such an awesome experience! By far one of the best restaurants in D.C... The only thing is I wouldn’t gave gotten the wine pairing if I had known what I’d be served. Only one red, fairly sweet whites for my palate, and the pours were more of a tasting than a pairing. The food and service were impeccable though. Thank you Minibar chefs and José Andrés!

George Junca: Amazing food and totally fantastic experience, service is totally on point and elevates the dining experience overall. The wine pairings were perfect and really liked some if the playful elements like the bahn mi that looks like is served on roll but is actually made of apple, the chicharron that has no pork, etc.

Matt Watier: Second time here and it was a treat. The real standouts was the lobster and duck egg, and the forest floor mushroom dish. A great example of how modern gastronomy can bring together flavors texture and temperatures that traditionally cooked food can not.

Victor Wang: An out of this world experience with some of the most whimsical and delicious food. Service was very attentive and watching the chefs create art in front of your eyes was magical. Be sure to make reservations as soon as they release them online. The wine pairings all worked perfectly and everyone was extremely knowledgeable.

The Dabney: what do users think?

James B: When traveling I try to seek out Michelin/ James beard places and this place definitely earned its star. It's a 4 course meal at a reasonable price, especially when you get all of the app choices. I got the duck as a main and the caramelized dark meat was the best I've ever had. All the other dishes were great too, the only slight underwhelming part is the cheese didn't pair well with the strawberries alone, you definitely had to use the crackers. The waiter was great for most of the night, the only slightly annoying thing is that I thought he mentioned he was throwing in the additional slider on the house since it was my first time, but I ended up getting charged for it

Jiaren Li: Well deserving of the accolades! The meal was extraordinarily enjoyable and our waitress was both insightful of the food and friendly. I was surprisingly mind blown by the roasted vegetables - superb ingredients and good techniques make something appear so simple but feels like beyond my ability to replicate at home.

Jeff Ahn: The Dabney is one of my favorite restaurants in DC. However, had a more sub-par experience this last time. Was late 15 minutes to our reservations and lost our seats indoors and had to sit in the heat outdoors. This was a little odd as it seemed many tables were available indoors. Our server was great and was accommodating. Food was great! the corn bread was extremely hot so be careful if you decide to get this! We eventually moved to the bar as it was extremely hot outside and finished our desserts and had a couple drinks. The bartender was nice and asked what we wanted but he got out order wrong. Kinda blamed it on us in front of us to our server which I thought was slightly unprofessional and awkward. Our server made it right at the end. Pros: Catfish sliders! its an extra dish outside of the course. Highly recommend! Dessert was great as well! Cons: Table outside was covered with ants. Bartender could have been a little more professional. Overall, quality of food was great. Service could have been better especially from a Michelin restaurant.

Jessica C: The Dabney is my go-to for special occasions. It’s pricey but whenever my friend from the west coast comes for a visit, it’s our fancy/celebratory reunion dinner. The wait staff is always friendly and they pay you great attention. There are lots of little touches that make this place great (i.e., my friend and I remembered how much we loved the bread and butter last time we came, and the staff gave us tiny jars of the butter to take home with us. The butter is so good you could eat it with a spoon). The snacks/first course were delicious. Even something as boring as a radish turned into a highlight of the meal (I avoid seafood but they made great substations with the pre-fixe menu to accommodate me). The meat is cooked beautifully (though I admit the lamb was fattier than I typically enjoy — see photo) and the egg tart was my favorite dish. The drink was aromatic and lovely. If you can save up for a fancy dinner, go.

Logan Kenney: Amazing farm to table meal, definitely worthy of the star! The food was perfectly prepared and the dishes were extremely well thought out. One of my favorite D.C. spots, it’s a must every time I go.

Beth H: A warm and relaxed place where culinary artists skillfully transform foraged and locally sourced ingredients into edible masterpieces. The finished product unfolds course upon course like symphonic movements, building on a theme, revisiting subtle refrains, interposing cleaver variations, and culminating in a memorable, once-in-a-lifetime edible aesthetic experience!

Nicholas Stephens: Absolutely loved it! Wait staff was super friendly, everyone said hello coming in and thank you, have a good night heading out. Our server, Christian, was very knowledgeable about the menu, offered great suggestions and was patient with our questions. Had a 5-course meal, including snacks, appetizers, entree, dessert and parting sweet treats for the road. A Michelin star restaurant tucked into Blagden Alley, worth the trip and the experience! Enjoy some of the artwork in the Alley, as well, right at the DC Alley Museum a few steps away. To the entire staff, thank you and I hope to see you again soon. Have a great night!

Julia Gooding: We walked in and we’re thankful to be able to have the choice of the fixed or a la carte. We opted to order from the menu. Warning: portions are really small, so be prepared to order a lot or don’t come super hungry. We joked you get but a dab of food (a La carte at least) at The Dabney, but it’s a tasty dab! Some highlights were hen of the woods, scallops, and the wild meringue desert. But I think the dark chocolate gelato could be darker and richer. Cocktails were interesting but I didn’t find them that interesting in terms of depth/layers of flavor. Really nice staff and positive experience, but a star off because my expectations (with the star) were quite high!

Matt Monarch: Great tasting menu, but probably not worth splurging on given the other options you have in DC. The catfish sliders are worth adding. All the other food pictured was very good but unspectacular.

Christine S: I’ve been here on several occasions, and the Dabney has always been consistently great. Quality of the ingredients really shine here, and the service is stellar. I still remember my first visit when I bit into a carrot and thought “this is what a carrot should taste like.” (LOL…I’m serious though). If you’re someone who appreciates quality ingredients from great suppliers, don’t miss out! From their latest menu (as of September 2021), I tried their chilled corn soup with Maryland crab, tomato tartine, lamb, and nectarine sorbet. I highly recommend the chilled corn soup! Cozy ambiance and great drink menu

BRESCA: what do users think?

HK: We had a three course dinner and it was absolutely delicious. The amuse bouches were surprisingly delicate and layered in flavor. Dishes came out pretty quickly without delay even though the restaurant was packed on a Saturday night. Would like to visit again!

Tommy Waters: It was our first time at Bresca and I feel the need to leave a review. I don’t typically leave a review unless I’m “moved” one way or another. And this amazing place deserves any positive comment I could possibly leave and then some! From the caviar starter to the ending pieces of dessert heaven the entire experience was just incredible! One word of warning, this place adds on the dollars FAST…. But you will more than likely already know that with just the smallest amount of investigation. With that being said, DO IT! Add on the caviar, add in the wine pairing, add on the black truffle shavings…do it ALL! It’s more than worth it and you won’t be sorry! If you would visit this restaurant don’t expect anything other than a unique experience provided by the talented chef and his crew! Expect amazing service! Expect an outstanding welcome by the hosts/hostesses! Expect an incredible waitstaff team (and if you are lucky enough to have Sherman you are in for a treat)! Just expect an amazing time and pay the expensive bill with the included gratuity knowing they deserve every bit of it and more! This is not a restaurant to go to on a budget. But like I said you’ll probably already expecting it. It’s WORTH IT!!!!!

Amanda Anoh: Went there for the first time for date night. It was an awesome experience! the prices are fixed for the meal courses. The service is great and the food extraordinary. It is exactly a tasting if you will because of the portion but we got the 6 course meal, so it was filing. A simple decor but nice, with a true French approach to service as in silverware, napkins, waiters. The bar was nice as well. I enjoyed myself and will be back.

Marisa Checca: I’ve been several times. Hands down one of the best restaurants in DC. I never knew I liked rhubarb until I tried their tart with foie gras, it was unreal. The seasoning and crust on their duck breast is the best in the city. Their petit fours, especially their Madelines, are some of the best I’ve ever had. They are always generous and give us extra if we ask :) I will keep on going back and back. Their staff is so friendly and I love the decor.

Ivan Vesely: My wife and I were there 3 months ago and frankly were quite disappointed. I was fine but my wife developed diarrhea right afterwards. We also paid extra money to add truffles to one of the dishes. These truffles were very odd. They looked like truffles but they had absolutely no smell and no taste. I‘ve had truffles a few times before and this was nothing like the way they normally are. Now, having said that, the wine pairing was outstanding. I’ve tried to find wines like this in my local liquor store and was unable to. They were truly memorable. But compared to Cranes, another single Michelin star restaurant we visited recently, this one just could not compare.

Alexander O'Neill: Definitely a interesting dining experience with food foams galore. If you can, grab one of the cute spots outdoors — it’s a little greenhouse laced with cherry blossoms. I’d recommend doing the three course set menu with the wine pairing. Splurge a little. The favorite dish at the table was BREACA’s take on cacio e pepe. The main course which for us was either venison or wagyu beef was the absolute line between cooked and raw — especially for venison. Regardless everything was very tasty and the staff was excellent. Overall a great time.

Reginald Anadio: Absolutely phenomenal! Highly recommend visiting Bresca. My waitress, Alex, was particularly welcoming, caring, and attentive. From start to finish, I was greeted by immaculate service. After spending a lot of time job hunting and landing one in DC, I decided to celebrate the moment at Bresca. They made the moment feel extremely special. From greeting me with complimentary champagne (Veuve nonetheless!) to tasting a delicious wine, they went well beyond what I could’ve expected. Thank you.

Gaya B: We had a great experience sitting outside in one of those cute little houses. Staff is excellent, really above and beyond experience. Professional and personable. The place has a Michelin star, so you can guess the food is good. :) You can play your own music via Bluetooth in the little house too!

PS Y: The positives: the wine pairing was mostly very good, and the bread and madeleines were delicious. The amount of food was also generous (but considering the price tag of $135, it had better be). But every dish at Bresca was ruined by some cloyingly sweet element. The best dish, a sunchoke agnoloti, could have been great but was destroyed by an unnecessarily sweet cappuccino-like vanilla foam. The worst offender was the herbal tea at the end- why would you serve this with lots of sugar mixed in rather than serving as a light digestive aid after a big meal? The least sweet and best executed dish was a chicken. But chicken breast in such an expensive restaurant, and followed by more fowl? (duck, Bresca's specialty, which was underwhelming but fine if you could avoid the sweet puree under the sweet beetroot). Service was poor especially considering a compulsory 22% charge that's not announced in the menu. We were seated well after our reservation time and served dessert some 15 minutes after a table that came after us. No gesture of apology. When I passed on my feedback to the server that the food was too sweet, he said “ok, alright” rather than"oh thanks I'll pass it on to the chef”. Will not be back.

Lin Dinh: Finally got to go to one of those “a little bit for a lot” restaurants and I do not regret it!! Really didn’t think these little bites would fill me up, but boy, was I wrong. Clean, sleek kitchen, very intimate and perfect date night location. The drinks were delicious and super unique. 10/10 would recommend!
Response: Hey Lin. We are humbled by your 5-Star rating and your "10/10" review of Bresca! Thank for taking the time to write this review and we do hope to see you again soon.

Pineapple and Pearls: what do users think?

Stephan Herard: One of, if not the greatest experience I've had dining. I've been to many Michelin star restaurants and this one stood out from them all. I had very high expectations coming into this dinner, and they surpassed them in every possible way. The food and drinks are inventive and imaginative. And above all delicious. The idea that they try to make the dinner a party is no exaggeration and it felt just like that. The staff was amazing and made everything fun. All the dishes had a story and meaning behind them and they worked together and made sense. The wine pairing and the non-alcoholic pairing were great additions and I highly recommend. The experience is priceless. (Oh and if you worry that you'll be hungry after the dinner, don't be. There's so much food)

Kiran Mand: Not impressed at all. The food was just ok some of it was actually not good. The service was slow. We missed out on some of the extras that they gave the tables around us and when we left we came home with a box that was for a different table with their pictures in them. We had to beg for the check after almost 3 hours. Definitely not worth the hefty price tag. I will not be back.

AlixTakesaBite: Amazing experience at the chefs counter! We got 10 courses and each bite was filled with unique texture and flavor combinations. Service was also flawless, which is to be expected from a two Michelin star restaurant. It really held up to the hype. I highly recommend! ig: @whetyourappetites

James Ives: An absolutely unforgettable experience, featuring some of the most innovative and flavorful dishes I've ever had. We opted for the chef's table experience with the luxury wine pairing and the optional course. As we entered we were provided with a cool towel while we waited for our table, and were offered a drink to get us started. After we sat down we were introduced to the restaurant and service as our courses were prepared. The service started with a table-side cocktail with a series of bite size pastry snacks, before moving on to a number of sea food dishes, eventually ending up at a barbecued lamb dish. The drink pairings were excellent, and included a number of vintage wines that are usually unavailable to purchase unless you have a connection in the industry. The highlight of the meal was definitely the optional Caviar Taco's and the Creole Style Blackened Monkfish. After the meal was over our server offered us coffee and gave us a signed menu by the kitchen staff as we were celebrating our first anniversary, which was a really nice way to top off the evening. Overall I highly recommend Pineapple & Pearls for a special occasion, it's worth its 2 Michelin starred rating and provides a memorable experience that you'll cherish for time to come.

Jesse Belt: The single best dining experience I've ever had. From the seating allowing us to watch the chefs to the service that was both attentive and unobtrusive, details were important. That said, most importantly each dish was an image of perfection and a taste explosion that was varied, unexpected and superlative in its execution.

Andrew Pitts: Absolutely unbelievable dining experience. From the moment you walk in and are greeted with a smile and a glass of champagne, to the exit gift, P&P delivered an extraordinary meal from start to finish! Thank you!

Joshua Miao: My 2nd time here and it was even better than the 1st. Sat at the Chef's Bar and was able to see most of the action go on. All the servers were very attentive and friendly. Definitely recommend this place. The price to me was definitely worth it. Not sure what else expecting from fine dining. Both my uncle and I were satisfied and were full at the end. There's no tipping at the end. All included in the price when reserving online.

Dave Watts: This is certainly one of the top restaurants in DC, maybe the best one. It's small and nearly always full, so reservations must be made well in advance. I've gone several times, but have never managed to get anything other than bar seating. It provides a wondrous tasting menu which includes either alcoholic or non-alcoholic beverage pairings. In fact, you'll be served beverages and hot towels the minute you come in the door, to prepare for your meal. The bar seating is actually very nice, because you can see the inner workings of the kitchen right in front of you. It's almost as much fun watching the kitchen as eating the food! The chefs have a call-and-response routine where they announce what is going to whom, and it sounds a bit like a pirate crew might. The dishes are very small as befits a tasting menu, and you don't order anything, or even know what's on the menu in advance. If you're vegetarian or have other dietary needs, you just tell them when you're making your reservations and they'll take care of you. They give you a copy of that night's menu when you leave, so you can remember what you ate, but each dish is pretty complicated and intricate, and it's hard to remember exactly what everything was without the menu! The service is impeccable, of course. At some restaurants, ones I like even, tasting menus can seem like a bit of a slog. Here, though, it's more like an adventure to see what will happen next. The waitstaff is very good about explaining in detail what you're getting, how to eat it and so on. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did!

rebecca weaver: Everything was amazing. My personal favorite was the breakfast, which was a sourdough french toast with blue cheese and truffle, and it was one of the best dishes I have ever had. The entire experience was simply Devine. Since we went to celebrate a birthday, we even got a parting gift of a signed menu, a pineapple candy shaped as a pearl, and they made a donation for each guest. I would definitely go back to celebrate another event.

Robert Ames: Get ready for a truly special and enjoyable evening. A truly memorable experience. As soon as you enter Pineapple and Pearls, they make it clear this is your night and they are there to take care of you. We were started with a delicious white tea while we waited and then were seated in the beautiful dining area. You will be stricken by how quiet it is despite the chefs working right there. They demonstrate discipline. There is no drama here. Just absolute focus on making delicious courses. We traveled along a 10 or so tasting course. Each course is gorgeous looking. Served beautifully and delicious. The pairings - both alcoholic and non-alcoholic were spot on. What I like is it’s not just wine on the alcohol side. They had some truly delicious and unique ciders tonight and a smoked beer that was perfect. We loved all the dishes. I would say that we enjoyed the desserts more on our last visit. They were more innovative and surprising. These weren’t bad, they just weren’t sensational. They focus on taking care of any dietary concerns. In fact, you hear the entire chef gang calling and repeating the needs of each visitor as they begin. It was a beautiful evening. Fit for a special occasion.

Mikayla Rose: This was our first time at a Michelin star restaurant and it was the most delicious and romantic dinner I’ve ever had. My husband and I went for my birthday dinner and it was so special. Our waiter, Ramsey, made the experience so personal and he was amazing! This was hands down the best service I’ve ever received at a restaurant from the moment we walked in until we left. Since it was my birthday, we were given a gift of a recipe and the ingredients we can make at home, as well as a raspberry tart with a candle! I’m incredibly impressed and will be returning. 10/10 recommend. Also, for the meal and service we received it was so worth the money and very reasonably price.

Jessie Castner: Amazing experience! All the food was delicious! We had 4 people and got one one of each dish. We were given a gift of the "Strawberry Spaghetti", which to be honest if I saw it on the menu I wouldn't order but it was one of the best dishes I had. My personal favorite was the Asian- Italian fusion spaghetti. My dessert was the Vietnamese Coffee Caramel Coconut Crumble Mochi Brown Butter Cake (I am in desperate need of this recipe, so good!). The service was amazing and all of the servers were so knowledgeable about what they were serving. It's definitely a great place to impress someone.

HK: Enjoyed all of the menus we ordered. Rose’s Luxury is a smart creative restaurant- not using any unheard or arcane ingredients or recipe, it effortlessly creates a new combination of tastes. The way it’s priced is hard to understand ($85 per person prefix for dinner regardless of what you order) and may make it relatively more expensive for some combination of dishes. Other than that, food and service was fantastic.

Kenny: Very nice dining experience. Only negative is the lack of ability to walk in. Orders: - soft shell crab: awesome combination of fried soft shell crab with lettuce wrap. Soft shell crab was fresh and well fried which is sometimes hard to find in the states. - steak and egg: unique presentation of tater tot in a 'race car' box. Steak is well cooked and seasoned simply. Nothing really special but this is how steak should be. - strawberry cake: good overall. Would prefer a more egg based cake. Sample: - movie theatre soup? : It was too salty. Not a big fan. Service was great overall. Would return when I'm in the area.

N -: It was my first time going to a Michelin star restaurant. The food is definitely unique, but not for people who like simple food. Not worth the price, despite its rating. The desserts are not adequately sized for a meal that big... Did not finish the dessert that served "2.9" people. The service was exceptional, with attentive staff. The upper level has a quaint dining space and the bathroom is very nice.
Response: Hi Nathalie, Thanks so much for your feedback. We would love to further discuss your experience with us and get a little more information from you. Could you please contact me directly via email: misha@rosesrestaurantgroup.com. Look forward to hearing from you!

Andrea Bronstein: This was my first time at a Michelin star restaurant and it was an amazing experience. I booked the garden bar area mistakenly thinking it was just for the garden area in general and I’d have a table so I was disappointed when I was seated but it ended up being a great experience. Josh, the bartender, was really personable and knowledgeable and my fiancé and I really enjoyed chatting with him. The food was really good, especially the steak and eggs dish.

Ryan Montoya: This meal was incredible. The English pea cake was maybe the highlight for me and I can't believe how well it traveled and presented. All the instructions were crystal clear and we had fun putting the food together. We chose this menu as we were fasting but I am very curious to try the non vegetarian option in the future. My wife and I haven't been able to get out to restaurants so this option was amazing, but I really do hope someday to experience Rose in person. Absolutely incredible service, from the responsiveness to my request to have the food delivered early (we were traveling that day) to the very friendly, accommodating and personal service of the delivery person (my wife didn't know it was a surprise, mistakenly sent the delivery person away to my work, and the delivery person followed up and realized my wife's error and still delivered the food!). I really can't ask for better service, and it makes this restaurant a true standout among our experiences dining during the pandemic.

Megan Martinez: We loved Rose’s Luxury! Our waiter was extremely nice. The whole staff was super friendly. We got to try 6 dishes since we were a party of three. The lychee salad is a must. The cabbage and chicken were also extremely delicious. We got two deserts and a single coffee French press. They brought us a special tart for my sister since it was her birthday! At the end I was so touched to get a gift at the end of the meal which was a pasta and spice set to make at home!

波。真秀ᶘ oᴥoᶅ: We reserved a table two weeks in advance, because we know how popular this place is. We enjoyed the refreshing change to casual comfort food, compared with our previous experience of haute-cuisine in Michelin star restaurants. Our server, Dominic, was very friendly and attentive. My wife's favorite dish was Seth's Fancy Fish Camp, while I liked the Cacio e Pepe Souffle. The Steak and Eggs was perfectly cooked, medium-rare, and the sidecar was a fun addition. At the beginning of the meal, we were served freshly baked madeleines, which are the best we have had in the USA.

Carolyn Zacharias: I came in nervously as a solo dinner and ate at the bar - I was immediately greeted by a warm and welcoming staff - from the host to each server explaining the dishes. John and Harley at the bar took excellent care of me through the creation of delicious drinks and perfect recommendations for food. I had the lychee and pork salad which at first glance seemed like a creation of mismatched ingredients, it was both refreshing and hearty. In addition I tried the leek pasta and the soy glazed chicken, both dishes I highly recommend as they are both comforting and creative!

Firefly: what do users think?

Sadhana G: Went to this beautiful place for brunch on a Sunday. The food was a whole new level of excitement! Presentation and quality of the food and the good ambience set the right tone for the weekend. But the only setback was the price. We had an Egg frittata, chicken and waffles and Egg Benedict-crab ( the chef special) and it cost us 70$. A great place to grab finger food in a cute setting !

Garner Marshall: Excellent breakfast spot. Indoor and outdoor seating available. Parking is pretty scarce around the area. Staff is excellent. Good is delicious. Music is diverse. Location is convenient. This is going to be one of my new favorite breakfast spots.

Steven Power: Wonderful location and the food is pretty good. The prices are very high. Brunch for two with no drinks besides one cup of black coffee was $50 for one order of French Toast, one Avocado Toast, and a side of fruit. The service was good overall, but one small thing annoyed me somewhat. We were there for Saturday brunch so I ordered a cup of black coffee right when the waitress first came over. The coffee, which they charged $5 for, finally came a minute before our food. I drank it quickly, thinking that for $5 for a tiny cup, a refill would be in order. No such luck. I don't know if asking for a refill would have taken another 20 minutes and cost another $5, but at that point in the meal, I didn't bother. Overall, a solid 5-stars. The location and ambiance outside are really great.

Mariia Sarlayan: Wonderful food, amazing service, beautiful interior, pleasant vibe. A bit pricey for brunch but worth it. I wish more tables outside had umbrellas for shades but even then the experience was memorable.
Response: Mariia, We are definitely wowwed by your amazing review and grateful for your comments. I hope we'll see you again soon, for another memorable experience! Please be safe and well until then. Sincerely, Anastasiia Firefly General Manager

Kim S: The food, service, and ambiance were excellent! My only disappointment was that they weren't open for dinner Sundays because we were looking forward to going back.

Linden Yee: Solid brunch, overall recommend. The eggs on the benedict were pretty undercooked but the flavors were good, and the chicken and waffles were really well seasoned. Service was pretty slow, and the staff seemed to be up against a lot. While the waiter was great, they appeared to be the only one working the entire restaurant.

Khadija Khan: The restaurant has changed a lot since the last time I was here! Really friendly staff and nice ambiance! My favorite was the peanut butter and jelly French toast with the jalapeño honey! It’s an Interesting combo but I really liked it. Our server recommended a really yummy mocktail! The food was a little pricey so I’m not sure if I’ll be visiting again any time soon, but the dishes were innovative and delicious.
Response: Khadija, Thank you for the great review and the photos you shared from your recent visit at Firefly. Love to hear the our food and service left a great impression. I do hope you'll come abck again soon. Warmest Regards, Anastasiia, General Manager, Firefly

idcwhatcoloritis: This had to be an off night cause the place was interesting. The old arcade games were cool and our waitress did her best with a terrible situation. Two of our three meals were barely warm at best and cold at worst. The other was basically frozen salmon from a grocery store on what looked like Couscous but was actually rice some how. They nuked our food in the microwave and brought it back out. The vegan burger both smelled and tasted like fish. Completely inedible. All in all, the food was terrible all around. The only plus to this experience was the owner who took both meals off our bill and bought us a round of shots to make up for it after there POS system went down. We saw at least 10 plates go back to the kitchen while we were there. I don’t think this is normal cause most of the people there seemed like regulars and were super confused by there food. I think it was an off night but I don’t think any of my group will be returning.
Response: Greetings, Thank you for your feedback I just would like to double check, is this review for Firefly Restaurant located at 1310 New Hampshire Ave NW Washington DC. We don’t have old arcade games at our restaurant. Thank you Anastasiia Hehelska Restaurant GM

Lisa Mayberry: Cute little place for brunch out of the way in a hotel down New Hampshire Street. Outside patio seating is nice for a cool day with the umbrella up.
Response: Lisa, Thank you for your recent visit to Firefly and the excellent review. We could not agree more, the Terrace is a great place to relax, people watch and enjoy one (or two) of our amazing cocktails. Please come back soon! Sincerely, Anastasiia Firefly General Manager

S P: Everything about this restaurant Amazing and I mean everything! I went once and I can't stop going back I tell everyone to go best chicken and waffles I have ever had! Drink and beautiful and delicious

Corduroy: what do users think?

J Taylor: We held a wonderful surprise dinner last Friday. The food was delicious and prepared nicely, compliments to the chef! The ambiance of the restaurant was perfect for our birthday celebration and the staff was phenomenal, especially Natasha!!! Everything was amazing! Thanks to Corduroy for making Friday a special night.

Tatianna Barrett: My family and I ate here for Christmas Eve dinner, and I have to say we were disappointed. While I appreciated the fact that the chef was able to have vegan options (called ahead, of course), in NO WAY did I think it was worth the same price as the regular prix fixe menu items. It was good, but definitely not for the price; should have paid half. The sorbets, unfortunately, tasted like freezer burn. The rest of my family enjoyed their food, so that's good. The big reason why the 2 stars was the service and quality of service. It took an incredible amount of time in between meals to get our next meal. Literally took almost 25 MINUTES to just get our drinks. Additionally, you couldn't really tell who was a server and who wasn't. You could completely tell that the restaurant was really understaffed that evening, and it just showed across the board, and seemed a little chaotic and unorganized. And unfortunately, our "main" server kept blaming other people, circumstances, etc. for the wait time, and ended up having a little bit of an attitude and quite defensive when we brought this up nicely. Listen, we completely understand we're dining in a pandemic and that people call off sick, don't show up, or don't want to work; however, if you're a HIGH END restaurant, despite the circumstances, you must deliver the same quality. And if not, then changes have to be made, such as limit the amount of reservations. And then, when we went to get our coats, the hostess was nowhere to be found; and when found, she was in the kitchen doing dishes. We spent well over 3 hours here, and it wasn't us just enjoying long conversation and the ambience. Unfortunately, it's an "enter at your own risk" type of review.

Morgan Fykes: Had a fabulous time back at Corduroy. The food was delicious and the service was good (poor guy was flying solo cause it was a VERY quiet night) - definitely enjoyed the meal and was glad to be back!!

Scott Plunkett: We just dined here for the Christmas Eve and I thought the experience overall was good with some areas of improvement. The service was acceptable but for the price I would have expected a slightly higher degree of attention to detail. Our waitress couldn’t really describe any dish in detail or how it would be presented when asked, and timing of service was a little odd as well. The first course came IMMEDIATELY, and I mean immediately after ordering before we had even time to butter our bread or take a drink of our cocktail, fine- but then afterwards the second course took a very, very long time to come out after we were done with the first course- just seemed a little odd, nitpicking maybe but I felt a little more continuity in timing would have been nice. We were about half way done with our dinner when someone came and asked if we were done- clearly we weren’t- again maybe too picky of me but there were leftover butter plates and other silverware on the table which weren’t taken away at the same time, just a little odd. Overall slightly slower/less attentive/aware service than I would have expected. But that may just be me using the high bar of DC restaurant service as an unrealistically high expectation. The food I thought was quite good, the tuna tartare and red snapper bisque were delicious. The sauces for each entree were amazing and the cuts of meat were perfectly fine but nothing to write home to mom about. Dessert was also very good. Overall I would recommend this restaurant to a friend and the combination of food and service was reasonable for the price point. Waitress could have known more about food and wine options and service could have been a bit more cohesive/attentive.

Zoe Burger: Best meal I've had in a LONG time. I already want to go back. We had the tuna. I also had the red snapper bisque- amazing. My friend had the beet salad and she enjoyed it. Oh, but that tuna! Perfection! Waitress was helpful and nice but she let us sit a bit too long once we finished. I noticed a faint cigar scent from the shop next door.

Boulder Skywatcher: We were a party of 5 who came to DC for a once in a lifetime celebration. I very much regret having chosen this restaurant for our family celebration. The food was good, but the service was beyond terrible. We waited to be seated (NOBODY at the door to greet guests), we waited 20 minutes for water and menus, our wine glasses stayed empty, our meal service took forever, and we skipped dessert because there was nobody who could be bothered to attend us. Yes, the food was good, but not so good to tolerate such bad service. I am sick of being told restaurants can't get help. Then don't open your doors. You very nearly took the special out of our special occasion, and there is no excuse whatsoever for taking so much of a customer's money and delivering such a terrible experience.

Keren Daniel: An absolute pleasure! All dishes are made from scratch, using the best ingredients, including desserts.

Jeff: So here is the deal. I got a dinner for 2 valued at $120 thru Verizon up program. After making the reservation I took my wife and we went to the restaurant. The restaurant is very nice and quiet with low lighting, it has a modern look to it. The lady who greeted us was super nice and gave us our Verizon up menus. Then came the server. When she saw we had Verizon up menus she looked not so happy. She never introduced herself. She took our order. I ordered green salad that was great. Then Flat iron steak with mushrooms for main course ( she never asked what sides I wanted when the plate can it had potatoes and green beans on it). I did not want to make a scene but anyway the food was excellent. Kudos to the Chef. Then came dessert it was Pistachio bread pudding, which was delicious. Other then the server being standoffish and not coming to check on us the restaurant was beautiful and the food was great.

lynda wright: There were 8 of us All LOVED the food and service. Only down side was the cigar shop next door. The smell was coming into where we sat. Several of the group were absolutely appalled. We do not SMOKE!! Understand the restaurant is trying to work out a solution. But next time we come we will change where we sat. BUT ABSOLUTELY 1 of the best restaurants in DC.

TYG Handyman: One of the best gems in DC. Wine list is great, service is excellent and food is awesome. Never had a bad meal. Chocolate tart, tuna with rice, all the soups just eat everything.

Equinox Restaurant: what do users think?

Weekend Warrior: Overall it was a great dining experience. The restaurant wasn't overly loud and it had an intimate vibe. We felt secluded enough in our table. The service was a bit slow to start, we waited over 20 min just to get our drink orders in. But then it picked up and we got our 5 course sampler and it was great. Some of the best food I've had.

Joshua Wiley: Went here for one of my many birthday dinners. As a new vegetarian this place definitely had a menu with me in mind. I was stuffed when I left. We had the menu with five courses and enjoyed every single one of them. Amazing. Would definitely go again, don’t know the price because i didn’t pay. 😇

Archana Raju: This place has been on my must try restaurants list forever, and finally made it on my birthday. We tried the five course meal. While each dish was carefully thought through and well presented, I think the beet salad didn’t really work (it was bitter) and grilled eggplant was a bit bland. Though I don’t typically enjoy mushrooms as much, I was blown by the Hen of mushrooms dish, and absolute winner. Overall, I would recommend this place!

Sunny Sanghani: Enjoyed the vegan brunch menu; lots of food and all tasted great.

Angela Su: We came for restaurant week and it was a great deal! Loved the plant based options. We had to wait 15 min for our table after we arrived on time for our reservation but it was worth it once we were seated. The mushroom dish was delicious and the portions for all courses were huge. Definitely ended the meal full and satisfied.

Henry Jones: A friend of my family told me ages ago to eat sometime at Equinox. I finally did this evening and am so glad. I had the truffled macaroni and cheese to begin, which was served in a mini cast iron vessel and tasted of cheese and herbs in a way that I could never achieve at home. Then I had the fennel-spiced Mediterranean turbot filet. The staff were very proud of the turbot—one saw it as he walked past and said, “oh you ordered the turbot,” with a big smile. If I were on the staff of a place that served food like this, I would be very proud, too. The turbot was meaty, slightly flaky, and golden on top. It was served on a bed of spinach, a carrot, roasted heart of palm, and braised endive, and there was an orange sauce. It was garnished with fried rings which I think were potatoes and there were red berries, too. I was there for an early dinner, having planned for a long afternoon at the National Gallery followed by early dinner before the final leg of a train trip from NYC to Virginia. The staff made sure the timing was right for me to get to the train and that I knew how to get to Union Station. What thoughtful people and exquisite food. I can hardly wait to eat at Equinox again.

Marlon Young: Vegan (plant-based) food isn't difficult to find in DC. However, it is a daunting to task to have an enjoyable fine dining experience as a vegan. Equinox delivered! The plant-based dish options weren't insulting, glorified salads. The flavor profiles of my selections were indicators of the THOUGHTFULNESS Chef Todd puts into ALL of his creations. The price point wasn't a concern because I went expecting to spend around $85-$100 per person. I spent that and got every penny worth in service, ambiance, and especially FOOD. It was the ideal dinner to wrap up a date night full of miniature golf and art museums. We will be back to try the Vegan Brunch, suggested to us by the bartender (who doubled as our phenomenal server).

Celal Gulluoglu: Fine dining? Please first repair the failing of the bathroom. Service was below average. They were carrying the beverage with their bare hands and holding the soup bowls on top of the bowls. Not even under it. Automatically added gratuity which is not written at anywhere. Full price charge for the kids under 10 years old? Tasting brunch menu was definitely not worth the price. Desserts were horrible. They were literally sliced protein bar, store bought mini cupcakes and coconut bites and they call it Brandi’s assorted desserts. Felt like scammed. Will never return 👎

The Girls: The zero-waste concept sounds great but didn’t see it happening within the menu. The apps and first courses were better than the main dishes. The dust devil drink is fab. Oddly, many of the plants were plastic. And the chairs stored in the ladies’ room makes it NOT wheelchair accessible. The kind and attentive servers were grand.

Meghan Joyce: Mother's day brunch was delicious. Vegan food with full flavor and fresh ingredients. Service was attentive and friendly. They were able to accommodate a nut allergy with no problem. We even got a photo with Chef Todd. Will definitely return!

Cranes: what do users think?

Millie Kwan: Cranes is a fabulous restaurant. I'm rather surprised that it has only one Michelin star. The decor when you walk in is extremely modern with a muted color palette. There is also a textural quality to the decor with the wall with the pass being decorated with textured concrete. There is also whimsy with the wonderful variety of lighting fixtures. Grab a table in front of the kitchen pass if you can. This is a Spanish Japanese fusion concept. We went with the omakase and it was phenomenal! From the flavors to the textures the food was inventive and delicious. The beverage and wine list was great and we enjoyed a nice sake. Service was amazing and really enjoyed talking with the waitstaff. Definitely recommend!

Cynthia M: Spectacular food. My husband and I did the omakase which was 6 course meal and 3 course dessert. The food’s flavor, texture, freshness, aesthetics—everything was great. I thoroughly enjoyed the experience. We shared a sparkling sake this time and I don’t typically like sake but that was actually really yummy too. Would love to try out their cocktails next time!

Abby: Wonderful dining experience here. We got the omakase with cocktails for dinner, and the flavors of every dish were amazing. My favorite one would have to be the duck with a blueberry sauce on the side. The ambiance was great, and the service was good - it had taken a bit of time before they took our orders, so they got us oysters on the house (which were delicious). We were there to celebrate a graduation, and there was a hand-written note on the table for us, which was a nice touch. I’d come back again for their happy hour and to dine again.

Aditya Karandikar: First time dining at a Michelin star restaurant did not disappoint. We did the omakase 10 course meal and had an absolute blast. The dining experience itself was fairly typical except for the multitude of courses. The food was at times experimental/complex and at other times straight down the middle, designed to please. The balance was well-executed and we left extremely satisfied. Service was soft spoken but perfect. Quite filling as well, definitely go hungry!

Vedran Bajer: What an amazing experience 💥! A few of us came for a weekend lunch and, instead of the Omakase, which would certainly have been 🤤, we opted in for literally everything from the menu, minus three dishes we thought we wouldn't like. Everything was top notch and the combinations the chef and his team make just 🚀. If you haven't visited and are reading this review, please reserve a spot, you will not regret it for a second! ❤️❤️❤️

Stephan Herard: The fusion of cuisine is well done. The dishes not only combine the cuisine but highlights both of them equally at times. The best part of the meal was without doubt the Wagyu beef and the mushroom rice. The whole table agreed that they could've ordered 3 more of those and been happy. The passion fruit dessert was also amazing and had great flavor. The staff was nice as well and gave us a complementary mini cake for my celebration dinner. Overall a really good meal.

Triloka Shanbhag: This was one of the DC restaurants that I had been looking forward to visit for a very long time. The intersection of Spanish and Japanese cuisine intrigued me to say the least and both these cuisines are my absolute favorites so I was very much looking forward to the experience. But unfortunately I came away disappointed, to my surprise most of the dishes were either Spanish staples Japanese staples. I dint see the 'intersection' of the cuisines like the chef and restaurant promises. The food and drinks while presented well, were only average at best in taste and flavor profile. I'll give the ambience and service the credit that it is due.

Renee Ethier: Amazing experience. Everything we had on the omakase menu was delicious, beautiful, and truly unique. The decor and service was top notch. It was all what you’d expect from a Michelin star restaurant. I can’t wait to go back.

Joe Guevara: Luckily this was a business dinner because it’s definitely pricey - but still worth it. Service - Amazing; I wish I could hire the server as a salesperson. The food - also amazing. The portions are perfect to order multiple things to share between a group - they are small (tapa) sized but we were still full by the end. My highlights were the risotto, the oysters (great sauce & quality), and for some reason the enoki mushrooms on whatever dish the picture has with the pickled onion/etc - the flavor profile of that dish was amazing. Still water that costs $18 a bottle seems overkill though. 🙄
Response: I am not sure what happened with still water, but bottles are $8 or $9. Possibly there were two bottles. Either way, I am sorry for that portion of your experience but very glad to hear you enjoyed the food. Feel free to reach out to us, if it was $18 for one bottle, I can look into it and we would refund the difference because that is not correct from our side. Thank you for your review and enjoy your weekend.

Allen N: My sister and brother-in-law took us here for lunch. It’s a beautiful restaurant space with comfortable but excellent service and a Michelin star. They’re cuisine style is “Spanish kaiseki” and they do a great job blending Japanese touches with a Spanish flair. We ordered the executive kaiseki and added on a few extras. The oysters were delicious and unagi paella was another favorite! The meal and experience as a whole was very enjoyable. Already looking forward to our next meal here!

Ambar Capitol Hill: what do users think?

Maya Bryant: I’ve been to this location for brunch twice so far. It’s a great place to go if you want to try multiple things. I went last time for my birthday brunch, which was on the rooftop floor. It was beautifully decorated and spacious for my party of 9. The food is always really good especially if you want to try new things. The crispy cheese slider really impressed me. Other great menu items include the mini burgers, beef prosciutto Benedict, and pecan and maple waffles. I would honestly skip the mac and cheese and bacon and grits, but it’s still worth a try being that you pay one price for everything. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. I definitely wouldn’t mind coming back for dinner one day.

Scott Nguyen: Came in with high expectations based on recommendations from friends and certainly was not disappointed! The food was so delicious and the service was top notch. We ordered a lot of small dishes with plenty of options for meat and vegetarian eaters. Our servers constantly had food orders taken and delivered, and we walked away very stuffed. Highly recommended.

arun varughese: One of the best restaurants in DC. The price is high but you get unlimited food of premium quality. 45$ for dinner and 35$ for lunch. The food quality is of the level of a good high end restaurant with normal ingredients. All items are small plates but it’s not an issue as you can order them again. My favorites are rainbow trout, lamb lasagne and slow cooked beef. Almost all their items are good. I did not like salmon as it tasted very bland.

Leighton Smith: Our experience at Ambar was phenomenal. One of my top 5 favorite dining experiences across the world. For only $45 (plus drinks if desired), you get 2 hours at a table to sample anything on the Balkan / Eastern European menu. Everything tasted fantastic. The service we received from Tamara and others was 5-star. I cannot believe how flavorful everything was. What an awesome cultural experience. Thank you Ambar!!

Doris Becerra: I enjoy this place... I love it. All the food was great!! I would recommend! The lunch was amazing and very quite place. I went with my baby, my mother and husband and all was perfect! The waitress was phenomenal and very nice!! She explained how its works and she brings to us every plate that we want it repeat! We love it the place. Some photos of the lunch.. but I must take more photos!!

Stefan Tobler: Wow, this was my first bottomless brunch experience in DC and I’m glad it was. Ambar is a hell of a deal with some delicious food and exciting atmosphere. The photos below are from breakfast but their dinner is equally as fun! HIGHLY recommend, one of the only places I find myself at time and time again bringing all my new guests!

Gina Abrams: Me and the crew had a great time! We went for brunch. We were seating as soon as we arrived! Melissa was an excellent host! She kept the food coming. Everything was good (except for the bacon was too salty, I typically eat turkey bacon). Make your reservations today!

Aaron Phillips: Very cool place. Small plates but lots of them, great way to taste around the menu. The sausages and mustard were great, really enjoyed the mustard. A nice selection of wine out of Serbia, Bosnia, Slovenia etc. which was fun. It's nice inside too, perfectly casual with prompt service and a helpful waitress happy to answer menu and broader cuisine questions. Will absolutely be back next time we're in Washington.

Brittani Spaulding: My absolute favorite brunch spot ever. All you can eat food and drink for under $50 pp. Can’t beat it. Everything on the menu is tasty and the drinks are good. Make a reservation ahead of time. Make sure you come hungry and thirsty, the service is always great and plates and drinks are refilled quickly.

Viraj Patel: Great $35 unlimited plates brunch on the weekend. Be sure to get here at least an hour before closing so you have time to order all the plates. Best items: cheese pie, salmon Benedict, veal soup, kale Caesar, Balkan salad, grilled steak, fried chicken slider, pecan and maple waffle.

CIRCA at Foggy Bottom: what do users think?

Krystal Styles: My family and I came here for dinner before going to a musical at the Kennedy Center, since it is within walking distance. The food was excellent and the customer service was great. I had the Shotgun Shrimp for an appetizer and the Wild Mushroom Ravioli for my entree'. Both were delicious and I would order these dishes if I came back again. For dessert I had the Key Lime Pie and it was just ok. I have had better elsewhere and probably wouldn't get it again, but it definitely wasn't bad. Overall, my family and I enjoyed our experience and we would go back again if in the area.
Response: Hi Krystal, Thank you so much for dining with us and providing your feedback! I'm so happy to hear that you enjoyed your meals. I apologize that our Key Lime Pie wasn't your favorite. I am hopeful that you will enjoy other desserts of ours during your next visit. Kindest regards, Maggie (Brand + Community Manager)

Kelly Crenshaw: We were going to another spot and one of my group said "what about here" as we came out of metro. They had a large party cancel so we were able to get in. Everything was great. Food was fantastic and we all were happy leaving. The mac and cheese might be there best I have ever had. I been thinking about and I can not remember a better bowl of mac and cheese... it was that good.
Response: Hi Kelly! Thanks so much for dining with us and providing your feedback. I am happy that you stumbled upon us and even happier that your group enjoyed everything - especially the mac and cheese. I hope that you will find us again in the future! Kindest regards, Maggie (Brand + Community Manager)

andrew: Super cute place for brunch. My friend made a reservation for Sunday at 11am which is also when they open. It's a lovely place and prices are standard for this type of restaurant. We each started with a hot coffee and and then ordered our meals. I had the Fried Chicken Sandwich, served with sweet potato fries. Fried chicken was hot and crispy and the fries were fresh and crunchy. Exactly what i needed. My friend had the Avocado Toast, which looked really good but i didn't not try it. Service was fast and friendly. Lots of indoor and outdoor seating. We were seated outside and the weather was perfect. Located next to Whole Foods. I believe it's just street parking, but Whole Foods has a parking garage and it's free for the first 90 minutes.

Noah Wahquahboshkuk: CIRCA has a great atmosphere and friendly staff. The jambalaya didn't really taste like a classic jambalaya but their spin was pretty tasty! The noodles used were great but could have been more plentiful in comparison to the proteins. The Austin Cabernet was amazing. Will make my way back soon.

Jessica R: We decided to come here on a whim and thoroughly enjoyed our meal. We came for more of a late lunch/early dinner and even though we did not have reservations they still were able to seat us. They did have to seat us in their outdoor area, which was a little chilly but perfectly fine. Our server was very pleasant and attentive. The food was great! I got the blackened chicken mango salad and my mom got the barbecue chicken flatbread. Both were very good
Response: Hi Jessica, We are so glad that you found us and even happier to hear that you enjoyed your experience! Hopefully we can host you inside next time! Kindest regards, Maggie (Brand + Community Manager)

Ed Tracy: Wow! First visit and it was quite memorable. Jambalaya entree Most Excellent. The chef worked some magic to get the best of the shrimp into the sauce. Butterflying the shrimp was also great for bit size. Brussels sprouts app, Most Excellent. Maybe best I've ever had. We got the bacon on the side. Crispy yet surrounded by soft blue cheese and a slightly sweet vinaigrette sauce. Vegetarian wife loved it too. Pumpkin ravioli were really good, a bit too sweet for my taste. Mash potatoes were good. Ask for table bread and butter. OMG, their house herb butter is fluffy and delicious. Also loved their custom concoction drinks. The Black Manhattan and the Maple Old Fashioned were smooth and delish! (the Maple OF is girl-friendly)
Response: Hi Ed, We are so happy you found us and enjoyed your first dining experience! Thank you for your support; we look forward to hosting you next time. Cheers! Kindest Regards, Maggie (Brand + Community Manager)

Lori Kusterer-Farley: Great dining experience for our family ! Foodie place ! Loved the outdoor tent with heaters. Burger, wings and shrimp salad were amazing! Would definitely return ! Walking distance to a DuPont circle.

Ron Milkowski: Stopped in for a quick drink. Great bartender. Seems like a college crowd. Would definitely be back for dinner. Recommended.
Response: Hi Ron! Thanks for stopping in! I'm happy to hear that you enjoyed our bartender. We are looking forward to your next visit for dinner! Kindest regards, Maggie (Brand + Community Manager)

Jessica Morales: This lovely corner is perfect, the menu is not big, but it has a good selection of different options. We had as an appetizer tuna poke nachos, the flavor combination and the fresh tuna was so delicious, and as a entree jambalaya, the spicy was on point and the penne pasta cooked to perfection, my husband ordered a braised short rib, the meat was so tender, the mash potatoes has this smooth texture so perfect. Thank you Michael, great service.
Response: Hi Jessica! Thanks so much for your rating! We are so happy that you enjoyed your experience with us. We are looking forward to hosting you again soon. Kindest Regards, Maggie (Brand + Community Manager)

Tran Kim-Senior: My husband and I came here with some friends before going to a show at the Kennedy Center. The food was good--he had rainbow trout and I had blackened salmon and our friends each had burgers. The ambiance is energetic and on the louder side which was fine for our purposes but if you're looking for a romantic, more quiet ambiance, I wouldn't recommend this spot. The bar menu looked good and varied though we're not big drinkers so we can't provide any feedback on the drinks. There was also a nice patio if you're looking for good outdoor seating.
Response: Hi Tran, Thank you so much for dining with us and providing your feedback. I am happy to see that you enjoyed your experience. We hope that you will visit us again soon! Kindest regards, Maggie (Brand + Community Manager)

Reverie: what do users think?

Raphael Tisch: A master-class in fine dining and delicious flavors, chef Johnny Spero has created an intimate and friendly dining experience that I look forward to visiting again. Spero's menu is seafood driven, focusing on the clean flavors of sea and freshwater, with unfailing balance and presentation. Our 15? course tasting menu and wine pairing left us beyond satisfied. Notable dishes included p.e.i. mussel, cured swordfish, scallop, lobster rice pudding, the duck!, I could just name all,the dishes... nothing fell short. Reverie's som also curated an elegant and surprising pairing for each dish that never felt off and more often bordered on genius. While this dining experience might be a once in a lifetime for some, I highly recommend it to anyone who wants to make a very special night out. Sitting chef's table is also a treat for those that are interested in chatting with the very knowledgeable and talented kitchen staff. We spent roughly 4-5 hours there, laughing and engaging with the staff, having one of the most outstanding dining experiences I can remember. All the stars, highest possible reconnection.

Henry Fernandez: I don't post often but when I do it's because of the excitement of a great dining experience. Reverie is something new and refreshing. The creativity, passion and effort going into this restaurant amazes me. This is a delicious, fun, and blow your mind experience. I say experience because everything seems perfect and the attention to detail and warmth of the staff is felt. If you are looking for such an experience, check them out.

Christine S: Reverie’s one of the most underrated restaurants in DC right now, and I regret not coming here sooner. I had the 16-course chef’s counter menu, which was all-around excellent and inventive. I especially enjoyed the seafood courses: the tuna, razor clam, scallop, and skate dishes were delicate yet complex in flavor and beautiful in presentation. Any restaurant with 4 courses of dessert will win my heart. Loved the pistachio meringue tart and the petit fours! The beverage menu was fantastic as well. I hardly drink alcohol so I always order a mocktail when I’m dining out. “Into the Woods” was by far the best mocktail that I’ve ever had; it consists of a coffee base, non-alcoholic bourbon, and black walnut bitters. I also tried a delicious non-alcoholic wine that was not glorified fruit juice. Service was great and unpretentious! Chef Johnny Spero is so friendly and easy to chat with.

Garrett B: Exquisite birthday dinner! Definitely deserves a Michelin star! Truly enjoyed the meal, pairing, and staff. We'll be back!

P Ak: Great food, great service and a good value considering the quality, creativity and delivery. The chef himself serves some of the dishes and tells you the story behind the dish. Loved the starters, the cod, brisket and desserts. The rest was wonderful also.

Brando Swartz: You will naturally gravitate to enjoyment with this food experience. The artistry has increased since 2018 with this great chef. This is a DC must!

Paige Cooper: This dinner was amazing, every dish was great. Such a phenomenal experience!

Andrew (Noh Leftovers): August 2019 Tasting Menu: - Pickled Kumamoto Oysters - Sungold Tomatoes - Kombu Cured Scallops - Monkfish | Mussel Dashi - Lamb | Wild Allspice | Berries - Reverie Burger - Blueberries with Pine - Sour Cherry w/Bergamot - Birch Ice Cream - Frosted Shiso Leaf

Jenn C: What an incredible tasting! Upscale and inventive menu, impeccable presentation, and amazing service. The Reverie deserves a Star, yet the Chef and staff are friendly and unpretentious. We will be back.

Anthony Tallotte: It’s our third time in Reverie and it’s simply amazing! Tucked away in a little alleyway in Georgetown is this great restaurant serving beautiful elaborate dishes. They look great, they smell incredible and more importantly they are delicious! We fell in love with this place! Its cool and hip atmosphere, friendly staff, and great food makes it a definite must for any foodie in town! Enjoy! PS: Try the duck!

Le Diplomate: what do users think?

Thang Phu: Highly recommended! We stopped by for a late afternoon food one day and was amazed at how fantastic the food is. It was all so good, especially their desserts. I have travelled to multiple regions in France and I can attest the food here tastes the closest to food in France. They even have a wine carafe on the menu, just like France. I wished I lived near here so I could go treat myself now and then.
Response: Thank you for such a complimentary review, Thang. We’re excited that you found our food and service to be five-star worthy. We are looking forward to welcoming you back in the near future at Le Diplomate.

mike wittenburg: Five Stars for the food and the atmosphere. Visited on a busy Saturday evening and got a table without a reservation, amazing. So much seating available. Indoor and outdoor seating. Went with a couple of friends and the drinks and food were fabulous. Tuna dish is a small serving. Trout was great and the muscles were awesome. Apple dessert and vanilla creme brulee delicious. Definitely a popular spot. And the bread... So much bread... Good variety of bread to choose from. Enjoy!
Response: mike, we’re pleased to know you had a great experience at Le Diplomate. We look forward to hosting you again soon. Feel free to follow us @lediplomatedc to keep in touch on Instagram!

Cindy Yang: Service: 3/5 Food: 4/5 Got a reservation and got seated immediately. We were running late and was trying to call but they don't answer phone calls. Fortunately our table was kept with a grace period. Recommend warm shrimp salad (the shrimp is very fresh), steak, escargot, and the duck. French onion soup is a must. We also ordered fries with added truffle but the truffle is flavorless so strongly recommend against adding it the entree.
Response: Thank you so much for the feedback, Cindy. We are always looking to improve and greatly appreciate the 4-stars. We hope we can earn that extra star on your next visit!

Daae Katsicoyannis: The meal was incredible. I recommend going with friends and sharing everything. The service was also impeccable. You can tell that all ingredients at this restaurant are fresh and of excellent quality. It’s rare to find such an approachable restaurant of this league. I would recommend to anyone.
Response: Daae, we’re pleased to know you had a great experience at Le Diplomate. We look forward to hosting you again soon. Feel free to follow us @lediplomatedc to keep in touch on Instagram!

brian perkins: Loved this place for a few reasons. Let’s start with the bread. Why can’t all restaurants serve great, fresh, delicious bread? Because it’s not easy. I pictured the empty escargot plate because after dipping the bread in the garlic sauce it was game over. Add onion soup, superb steak frites, profiteroles to die for and you have a neighborhood gem. Not to mention the wait staff gives treats to dogs being walked by the restaurants. How great is that?!
Response: Thank you for such a complimentary review, brian. We’re excited that you found our food and service to be five-star worthy. We are looking forward to welcoming you back in the near future at Le Diplomate.

Rob: The food and ambiance are always great. However, on multiple occasions, I’ve felt that the service is not what you’d expect from a restaurant of this caliber. Last time I felt a bit rushed and the service, while attentive, was curt. When our entrees arrived, a waiter couldn’t fully reach to place my friend’s plate in front of him. Rather then walk around the table (there was space), the waiter placed it on the table and gave the plate a quick flick of the wrist to push it over. It’s a small example but I think captures a similar sentiment seen in other reviews about the service.
Response: Rob, we're happy to know you had a positive experience at Le Diplomate and appreciate your feedback on how we can improve. Hopefully, we have another opportunity to serve you in the future so we can earn that last star!

Karissa Warren: Had an awesome food experience on New Years! Was a little disappointed they didn’t have their usual pastry assortment but every single item we got was delicious!! We really came for the pastries and croissants but were blown away by the food! If you want an authentic French croissant, they’ve got you covered! We will definitely be back!
Response: Karissa, 5-star experiences are what we strive for day in and day out here at Le Diplomate. Thank you for the great feedback and we'll hopefully see you again soon!

Dee Ketterman: We’ve eaten here twice and love the food and decor. The feel of the restaurant more resembles an upscale bar with delicious food, as most people are standing and drinking rather than eating. I’d like to try sitting at the bar because I think it’d be a better experience to fit the atmosphere over a low table with people standing all around. The mushroom tart is fantastic and the French onion soup is the best I’ve ever had! The service was dressed appropriately but less attentive than expected, most likely because of how busy it seems to get. Regardless, I really like the food and hope to visit again soon.
Response: Thank you for taking the time to share feedback on your recent visit to Le Diplomate, Dee. Our staff works incredibly hard to ensure our guests have the best dining experience. We hope to see you back very soon and to earn that extra star!

Heivi Herne: They call themselves a Spanish restaurant. The interior is nice. Restaurant is spacious. There are different rooms with tables. There are also tables to sit outside. The service wasn't not very fast. I ordered one cocktail. It wasn't very good. The funny thing was that they brought bread, bread and margarine as a snack. I have been to Spain a lot of times and eaten there. There is no such snack there. I think that this place is overpriced

Bibiana Oe: Very cute upscale dining experience! The waiter had many recommendations that were appealing. The bread with the butter is amazing! Ordered assorted oysters, mushroom tart, beef bourguignon, mussels and frites, and the profiteroles. Loved everything and it was good portions! Recommend for a lovely cozy dining in experience since the bar and inside of the restaurant is super unique!
Response: We're happy to know you had a positive experience at Le Diplomate and appreciate your feedback on how we can improve. Hopefully, we have another opportunity to serve you in the future so we can earn that last star!

Seven Reasons: what do users think?

Meia Harris: I was overjoyed to find out they offer a vegetarian tasting menu option. Each course was delicious and beautifully presented. Dessert happened to be my favorite- it was refreshing, light, and not too sweet. The customer service was exceptional as well. I looked forward to dining here again!
Response: Thank you for visiting us! We are glad that you enjoyed it!

Jackie Ellis: This restaurant is definitely all about the experience. Each dish that arrives at your table is broken down and explained. Our waiter gave us a little history on the range of Latin countries that inspired each dish. The decor was very nice as well. It was also explained how the serving sizes ranged from small to large. They recommend 2-4 dishes per person, so beware and come prepared because this place is a little pricey.
Response: Thank you for visiting us!

Carmen R: Great food and awesome service! I opted for a la carte and felt satisfied after a drink, two courses and dessert. My table of four all ordered drinks, two or three courses, and dessert, and sampled each other's dishes. I scraped each dish, especially the pork belly, clean. We all had great things to say about their meal, but special shout out to the staff who were all pleasant and attentive. I'd love to come back and celebrate during another special occasion.
Response: Thank you for visiting us!

Lauran: We reserved the chef’s table to host clients and the entire experience was exceptional. The tasting menu consisted of 6 courses that were beautifully presented and we opted to add on the wine pairing for each course. The food was absolutely impeccable, and the level of service that we received was simply unmatched. The 7 Reason’s team were warm, attentive and pulled out every stop to make sure we had a top-notch experience. The Chef-Owner came out ahead of service to greet and thank us for dining with his team for the evening. They went above and beyond to accommodate food allergies and preferences, and even made sure to include different mocktails for me with each course since I don’t drink. Our clients kept asking how we found this place, and were blown away with the experience. 10 out 10 will return and would recommend. Thank you to the entire 7 Reasons team for making it easy for us to impress and entertain our clients!
Response: Thank you for such detailed review! We will be waiting for you!

Christine Whited: Amazing experience - great food, cocktails, and service! We tried the a la carte items and loved the arepas, scallops, halibut and short rib! Our favorite cocktails were the Bourbon Street and the Mule. Next time we are in DC, we plan on trying the chef’s tasting menu! Shout out to Miguel and Darwin for providing great recommendations & wonderful service! 😊
Response: We will be waiting for you at the Chef’s Table!

Zeyu Hu: Dining at seven reasons is an event. The menu is listed out in 4 different sections. The first two sections are more appetizer style, while the last two were your entree dishes. Every dish is served family style. We had 5 people dine together and thus was able to get 3 thing from each section which allowed us to try a wide variety of different dishes. Each section stood out in its own way, and all the flavors were different but worked so well as a whole. Some of my favorites included the crispy pork belly, the duck, the octopus, and the lobster black rice dish. The staff was super attentive to our every need and the food came out at a relaxing but steady pace. The restaurant also constantly changes their menu so would love to come back and try another menu!
Response: Thank you for visiting us! We hope to see you back soon for more Seven Reasons experiences

Christine S: I’ve been here a couple times, and the food is always spectacular. Service, however, is inconsistent. During my most recent visit, I sat around for nearly 20 minutes before someone asked about water. Past experiences are usually not like this - service is typically a well oiled machine. My 5-star rating is mainly about the food, since Seven Reasons remains as one of my most highly recommended restaurants in DC. The signature dish is the tartare de lomito! It’s available a la carte and on the tasting menu I’ve tried. The soy cured yolk with the tartare, caramelized sesame seeds, and plantain is nothing short of amazing! During the most recent visit, I tried items from the Carlos Garcia takeover. The soft shell crab mini arepas was a popular dish - it was alright. I loved the Chilean sea bass with bomba rice and the dessert of Dulce de leche foam, pink guava and passion fruit jelly, toasted milk. Before the pandemic, it was difficult to score reservations to this place. Come here soon and support great restaurants like these!
Response: Thank you for your feedback. We’ll keep improving to provide the best service.

byron subero: Birthday dinner complete. This is a very nice restaurant that serve contemporary Latin American plates. The drinks was delicious, refreshing and presentation was amazing. The food, the presentation and the service was amazing. They describe the food you're about to eat in such detail it makes the food for some odd reason taste better. FYI they can switch up the menu at any time.

Amanda Hu: Beautiful restaurant and amazingly creative dishes! My personal favorites that I always order are the scallops, pork belly, and octopus. The crudo was amazing as well. I love their creative drinks and their desserts are to Die for. Not too sweet and a perfect harmony of flavors. For an eclectic, beautifully presented dinner, come to seven reasons! My only advice is to go with the Ala Carter instead of chefs tasting menu. Also, the waiters always tend to push you to order a lot, but their portion sizes are generous. For 6 people, we ordered four appetizers (cauliflower, crudo, scallops, and pork bellu) two main dishes (duck and octopus), the paella, 2 rounds of drinks, and 3 desserts. We were extremely full despite the waiter telling us we should order another 4-5 dishes or we would leave "hungry". While I recommend you try many different dishes, don't go too crazy with the ordering or you'll be left with a hefty bill and lots of leftovers!
Response: Thank you!

Brian Copes: My date took me here for his birthday dinner and it was excellent in terms of food and service! Food - loved the scallop curry dish and the cauliflower soup shot dish. My third favorite dish was the hamachi tiradito dish. It was buttery and just plain good. I don’t drink so I enjoyed the mocktails as well. My favorite was the limonada personally with the ginger beer. Service- excellent service with food descriptions, silverware changes, checking in on you, offering best ways to eat the food, and just professional, warm and friendly. Fine dining without the stiffness. Vibe - nice music and great to sit at the chefs table watching the kitchen in action. Bathroom- clean and nice soap as well. Overall, this is a true foodie restaurant experience to enjoy. I would recommend this place!
Response: Thank you for your feedback! We are happy that you’ve enjoyed. You’re welcome anytime soon.

Elizabeth's Gone Raw: what do users think?

Michael Condor: Took my wife (a vegan) here last month for her birthday and we both had an incredible time. As a non-vegan, I thought the meals and experience were great. We enjoyed all the dishes on the prix fixe menu along with some tasty mocktails. The staff is what really made this place spectacular—so polite and friendly. Will definitely be back next year for birthday celebrations!
Response: Thank you, Michael. I so appreciate your kind review. It was a pleasure to serve you and your wife. We look forward to seeing you next year. Elizabeth

Caileigh Feldman: My brother took me out to dinner to celebrate my 29th birthday and we had the best meal ever! I asked in advance for a fully raw 6-course experience and my bother did the vegan 6-course, so we had fun sharing bites. We each got a drink and they were wonderful. We started with the caviar plate which is SO worth it and an experience that you’ll never forget. Each small plate of the meal was absolutely delicious and prepared with such exquisite creativity. We enjoyed every bite. The dishes are so beautiful that it feels like you are eating edible art. We had a blast chatting to the passionate waitstaff (such as Ben) throughout the meal and hearing some of the stories behind the beautiful paintings from Elizabeth herself. My brother and I agreed that this was one of the best meals of our lives. Without a shadow of a doubt, we will be back time and time again to try the different seasonal menus. The biggest thank you to Elizabeth, the fantastic Chef Francisco Hernandez and the wonderful team. Every single person made us feel so special and cared for.

Jeffrey F: Easily one of - if not the best - meals of my life, in any city, anywhere! So incredibly delicious from start to finish. Wonderful ambiance, attentive and knowledgeable wait staff - everything you could want for in a meal. Drinks were delicious, too. Whether vegan or not, this place is absolutely worth your time. Can’t wait to return and try the new seasonal menu next time.

Corrie Byers: This was our first time having a fancy 5 course meal like this and it was incredible. The menu is seasonal was just creative and delicious. Everything we had was unique and full of flavor. Each course was explained by our wonderful server with not only what it was but how it was prepared and where the food came from. The restaurant was beautiful and quaint and all the staff was phenomenal. We were visiting DC for our honeymoon and they brought out a candle in celebration. It was very pricey for us but well worth the price for the entire experience.

Jamie Howard: Impeccable service, thoughtful and delicious food! My dinner mates consisted of two vegans, one plant based, and myself an omnivore. The plating was beautiful with layers of flavor with each successful course. Ideal for a nice date night. Our favorite thing was the kale chips!!! They look pretty plain but oohwee lol. The owner took pity on us and brought us seconds after watching us pick at the crumbs in the first bowl. Will definitely be back!

Simon A: Have to say this hidden Gem in the wonderful city of DC was worth the experience! From the entryway to the ambiance upstairs in their dining space. All the waiters and waitresses were incredible, from start to finish and compliments to the chef for amazing fine dining tasting options. If you are to ever find yourself in downtown DC stop here and experience the vegan “CAVIAR”!! Yes I said it “VEGAN CAVIAR”, for a first time experience in having this delicacy I was blown away. The entire food menu from the appetizer to the main course to the dessert was incredibly sensational along with a spectacular display of each one. Can’t forget the bartender who made the most amazing Mezcal Old Fashioned using the vida organic mezcal tequila. The Smokey earth tones from the mezcal and finished with the right bitters and simple syrup, lastly with the solid rock cube in a wide mouth rocks glass thank you!!!!! To all the staff thank you for the experience as we had an amazing time and great birthday celebration in your establishment and will look forward to another dinner the next time we are in DC.

Claudia Pace: I recently enjoyed a most memorable dinner at Elizabeth's Gone Raw, enjoying innovative and delicious raw-vegan dishes, and completed with organic wine pairings. It's impossible to describe the depth of flavor and the variety of textures/tastes that I experienced. A most wonderful benefit is that the entire menu is completely plant-based and one leaves knowing that they have enjoyed healthy, life-affirming food! Dine at Elizabeth's Gone Raw for a unique, and most delicious dining experience. And taste the love and passion that have gone into each course.

Ibrahim D'Alkebulan: Hands down my FAVORITE for vegan fine dining in the DMV (and possibly USA). At $80per person, probably best for special occasions, but when you consider birthdays, visiting family, promotions, 4/20 - get it when you can. Reservations required, wine pairing optional. Monthly menu and drink rotation - always a hit, have yet to have encountered a miss. Last time I went they had a new starter/appetizer option that was pretty filling, so I might pass if only two dining. They can reasonably accommodate dietary restrictions. Food is inventive, interesting and sparks conversation; your taste buds will be activated in ways you didn't know were possible. Overall, a great tasting menu dining experience i highly recommend...I'll always remember "red pepper sorbet"😋

Kenneth Kilgour: I expected the food to be excellent. In fact, it was the best meal I've had in DC. Not the best vegan meal -- the best meal. I expected the service to be excellent. It was the best service I've had anywhere. The staff is pleasant, engaged, and accommodating. I had hoped to meet Elizabeth; my husband and I spoke to her at length. The presence of the owner, in the front of the house, I'm sure contributes to the kind, attentive service, because Elizabeth herself seems kind and attentive. Here's what I didn't expect -- the lovely and peaceful dining room to be up a long flight of stairs. That was no problem, because we would simply pass through the kitchen and take the elevator at the rear of the building. They handled my husband's mobility impairments with the same graciousness they handled everything else. This is, by far, our new favorite restaurant in DC.

Julie Chang: My new favorite restaurant!!! Even better than Dirt Candy in NYC. The staff were amazing too. Me and my hubs can't wait for our next visit.

Mazi DC - New American Cuisine: what do users think?

Hilda Kroll: A really nice place for lunch. The service was great and my friend and I really enjoyed our food. My lamb burger was large, juicy, and delicious and my friend enjoyed her Mediterranean salad. Nice and clean, tables not too close together, so we felt very comfortable dining in. And beautiful fresh flowers at every table.
Response: Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful photos and your review, Hilda! We're delighted to see that you liked the food and the overall ambiance of the restaurant. Providing quality food and services in a safe environment to our customers is what we aim for! Thanks again for your kind words!

Chioma O: Went to Mazi with some friends for a birthday dinner. Ambience and service was quite good. I ordered a Bourbon Mule which I have had before ...the taste was a bit off so I wasn't a huge fan. However the lamb burger I had was delicious and my friends also enjoyed their meals particularly the lamb chops. Price is a bit high for meal sizes but if you want to splurge a bit...its a good night out
Response: Thank you so much for taking the time to share your review with us, Chioma!

K Scott: Cute place and I enjoyed the food, went here last night for New Year’s Eve with my daughter and her dad. We enjoyed our selves staff were really nice. Lamb chops were really really great. My little sister told me come here after going for her birthday a few months ago.
Response: Thank you so much for your review! We are glad to hear you enjoyed your experience!

Emily C.: This restaurant just cross street from the hotel where we stay, so convenient. The waitress and waiter were friendly, Loved the food, cooked just right, perfect taste.
Response: Thank you so much for taking the time to share your review with us, Emily!

Keshia Wideman: First time experiencing the Mazzi. I must say the food chicken kabob, and honey feta cheese was superb, but yes but, the waiter was not welcoming, or really pleasant at all. The owner/ manager I believe was very pleasant, and explanatory of our concerns. We celebrated my daughter’s 18th birthday here tonight. Definitely a nice ambience, just in my opinion the waiters could be more pleasant to casual guest of mixed aged people.
Response: Thank you so much for giving us a shot, and even more for leaving us your review, Keshia! We are happy to hear you enjoyed your meal while dinign with us and we appreciate your feedback regarding the service, as it is comments like this we learn from and use to improve. We really hope to see you again soon!

Anna: Ok but a bit underwhelming. We started with brussels, good but heavy, and mushrooms, which would be better with something. Bowl of mashrooms was a bit weird. Then we moved to cesar salad with chicken and a NY strip. Nothing to complain about, but just very regular food.
Response: Thank you for your review, Anna!

Tim Shea: I had the grilled Salmon with rice and mixed veggies which was very good. They have a med style menu. The staff was friendly and the food arrived quickly. I'll check it out next time I'm in town.
Response: So glad to hear you enjoyed your dinner here, Tim! Thanks for checking us out and taking the time to share. Hope to see you again if you're ever back in town!

Marina Figueroa: Love the ambiance. Food was delicious as well as the wine. Service was also exceptional.
Response: Thank you so much for the beautiful photos and your kind words, Marina!

Andrea Smith: They accommodated our group of 45 well. We super appreciate the deliciousness of the food, attentiveness, and great service. A group that size is hard but they delivered consistent and delicious meals to all.
Response: We are grateful that you took the time out to leave us this review, Andrea. We put customer satisfaction as top priority and we are thrilled that you enjoyed your experience while dining with us!

David Manalan: We were staying nearby, and stopped in at lunchtime to get out of the heat and relax with food and beverage. The hamburgers we ordered were outstanding. The staff was very friendly and attentive. We were intrigued by the menu so we returned for dinner- outdoors. Chicken Kabobs and the Wine Roasted half chicken were absolutely wonderful. We returned for a number of additional meals, and the wait staff and owner not only recognized us, they welcomed us as though we were old friends. A definite 5 star place.
Response: Many thanks for choosing to dine with us again and again, David! We are delighted to learn that you were pleased with the dishes you tried! Hospitality is a source of great pride for us and we are glad that reflected to your visit! Thanks again for your kind words!

The Red Hen: what do users think?

Vikram Seshadri: Amazing service, great ambiance and delicious food. The portions are small/personal for the price but delicious nonetheless. Had a few amazing vegetarian options and the waiter was kind enough to explain everything to us.

Rose A: All natural wines by the glass paired with amazing food and a large, airy bar in a rustic setting. Very friendly bartenders too. The whipped ricotta crostini was one of the best things I’ve ever had, and yes you can order Cacio e Pepe off the menu and it’s delicious. A lovely gem!

Kit Lai Pine: After trying for 6 years and failed to get a reservation at the time we wanted when we visited our college kids in DC, we finally got to dine at Red Hen on Saturday night. Every thing we ordered the chicken liver mousse, bruschetta, sausage pasta, squid ink spaghetti, pork chop and dessert were delicious. The pork chop was moist and scrumptious. The two pastas were so flavorful. Probably the best Italian restaurant in DC. Service was great. Can’t wait to dine at Red Hen again.

Ying Liang: I was today years old when I learned that antipasta means first course/small plates, and not “not-pasta” lol. We stopped by with dinner reservations on a Sunday night. The restaurant is a bit dark but the ambiance is great. Our waitress was kind and knowledgeable. The food was fantastic! Really felt like an elevated dining experience. Grilled Spanish octopus was so tender and flavorful. Risotto balls were crispy and bold. Squid ink linguini was the best pasta I’ve had in the states. Definitely check this place out if you get the chance to treat yourself!

Eugenia Kim: Omg! This place did not disappoint. This Italian restaurant had amazing ambiance when walking in and a perfect date night spot and small gathering. Reservations are highly recommended. And if dining in you will be charged an extra 20% gratuity to help fund the restaurant for covid recovery. Which we didn’t care! The service was fast and our waiter was so friendly and gave us great recommendations.
Response: Thanks so much for joining us, Eugenia! We're so happy that you enjoyed your dinner with us! We'd love to see you again soon.

Chelsea Morante: !!!TOURIST REVIEW!!! My mom and i visited this restaurant Labor Day weekend on my first trip to DC. We stayed at a near by air Bnb that recommended the place and honestly I’d one of the BEST restaurants yet. The food was absolutely amazing so much flavor very true to the authentic Italian restaurant feel. Love the open kitchen experience. We sat at the bar where our bartender Ely was the most amazing person ever. She helped me convince my mom to try things she wouldn’t normally eat while also recommending some Divine red wines. She was so great throughout the whole experience it made it that much more enjoyable. I recommend this place to anyone and everyone. #OutofTownerCritic
Response: Hi Chelsea! We are so honored you and your mom put us on your DC itinerary! It was lovely to have you both in and we hope you had a wonderful rest of your trip to D.C.

Melinda Nguyen: Best pasta I've had in a veryyyy long time. Every dish is sooo profoundly flavorful! The cinnamon toast crunch Gelato was also very tasty. Shout out to our server, Sean, for giving all the good recommendations!!! It's so hard to get a reservation to this place, but it is worth it! Also prices are relatively reasonable for quality, portion sizes, and location! 10/10 would recommend!!!

Nicholas West: Had a wonderful Sunday evening dinner at Red Hen. All the courses were delightful. Stand outs were the arancini, squid ink linguini, and the crispy pork chop. But can't forget dessert, the affrogato with cinnamon crunch gelato and the tiramisu were delicious. We also enjoyed the Duck liver and Foie Gras Mousse, which was as decadent as it sounds, and the Grilled Spanish Octopus. The food and experience was worth the trip. I would be remiss not to thank the kind stranger who picked up our bill. It was a complete surprise and still haven't found the correct words to express our appreciation.

Ariel Koch: Stopped in for after dinner drinks and desert, the bar staff was amazing!Aperol spritz, Tiramisu, Espresso martini & Ginger Pearl

Abby: The food here is TOO good. Probably the best Italian place in DC. Can’t wait to go back and try more dishes. The pasta dishes were excellent and I appreciate the reasonable prices.

SUCCOTASH: what do users think?

Rachel Murphy: Ordered the taste of the south. The food was overall pretty good, plentiful and the sampler was a nice way to try many things. Full orders at other tables looked very large. Sadly the overall experience was not great and I’d probably not return. A couple small things combined were disappointing. A raw piece of chicken replaced with a piece way over cooked (clearly the kitchen was mad) - we never ever send food back but raw chicken we did. The manager seemed to place blame on us (a lucky chicken vein). I have a shellfish allergy and asked if possible to get a scoop of the grits(without shrimp) just to taste and that was ignored. Wasn’t looking to substitute but it would have been nice (or told not possible if the shrimp was cooked in). Then a 4 top was placed at a table next to us when the restaurant was fairly empty with many open tables in the same server section. In covid times seemed odd. Plenty of brunch places in dc so I’ll try others instead of returning

Dominique: Came here for dinner while visiting a friend in the DMV area. The ambiance is nice. It's large with ample seating. It's dim-lit giving that romantic vibe. My friend and I both ordered the Belle's Punch to start. It has both vodka and bourbon, but the mango-flavored vodka, ginger and mint mask the alcohol. We got the cornbread cakes to start. We could have skipped it. They were small donut hole-sized. Wasn't like traditional cornbread and we weren't really a fan. The rest of the meal was great though. I ordered the shrimp and grits which was truly delicious. Loved the shrimp in it. It was cooked perfectly and all the flavors of the meal came together really well. My friend got the chicken and waffles with the largest pieces of fried chicken I've ever seen. My other friend ordered the Dirty chicken which had honey gochujang so it was pretty spicy. There was no sides that came with it, but the portion size was gigantic. She thought it was delicious, but couldn't really handle the heat. Overall, the meal was good, but the service left something to be desired. Perhaps the server was having a bad day, but we had to prompt him to come by first to take our orders and then throughout the whole meal down to getting the check. The issue was that with the other tables he was far more attentive. That definitely shouldn't deter anyone from going here. The meal was great and it's worth coming here for the food.

Bwalya: Was looking for a brunch place in a pinch and was referred here by a friend. This place was perfect! Service was exemplary from the moment we walked through the door to when our server returned our cards. She was humorous, patient, and extremely helpful. The drinks were great and the food was worth traversing DC for, I'll be back for sure 👍🏿

Aaron Renshaw: Had a great time here. Lots of care taken with both menu and bar options. Everything we had was top notch and ample portions. Cocktails were great and our bartender, Rafael, was fantastic! This will absolutely be on my list for a return visit when I'm back to DC

Miracle Reason: Absolutely loved this place! I went with my cousin for her birthday. The restaurant itself is a vibe - Beautiful seating/ decor, perfect for a classy dinner. Service was amazing shout out to Kayla who took great care of us. Drinks were delicious. Had my 1st proper whiskey sour with egg white. She had the cactus rose, a tequila drink. For starters we had Wings and the fried green tomato salad- Amazing, ESPECIALLY the wings. I had the chicken and waffles and when I say that was probably the best waffle & syrup I have ever had I'm not over exaggerating. The chicken was nice and crispy. She had the shrimp and grits which was very flavorful. I highly recommend.

Brenna Belletti: Delicious food & drinks at a great price point. The other reviews are correct on here about the service, it's extremely slow. We had to ask to pack up the rest of our order so that we wouldn't miss our show at Ford's theater even though we gave ourselves a few hours for dinner! We got the taste of the south courses dinner so that we could try a little bit of everything and it was fantastic!

K R: Succotash kinda sucked…. The atmosphere was great, our waiter Mike was patient and kind and we loved his service! When it came to the food it was disappointing- sticky buns: dry, waffles: hard, hang over special: salty, with gravy on a fried egg instead of the biscuit… why?… If you’re coming for food lower your expectations. If you’re coming to feel sophisticated yet comfy you’re in the right spot. I also noticed the people next to us not finish their food. Worth noting.

Bryan Mroz: Went on a Friday evening. It was full but we had reservations and we were seated quickly. Service was a bit slow but our waitress was friendly and knowledgeable. Food was perfect. We had Shrimp and Grits and Catfish. Great ambiance. There was love music mostly soul and jazz.

Vin D Sr.: Amazing menu and a fine meal. Staff was great and we enjoyed the atmosphere! Chicken and waffles outstanding as was the smoked steak! Sides were awesome too! So good we had to take a few orders to go! Highly recommend. Make a rez to secure a table at this hot spot.

Chris Taylor: Amazing space with comfy booths. They had live music which was a nice touch. The staff were friendly and attentive. The food was good, I enjoyed some food came as starters. Loved the milk punch cocktail and the honey old fashioned. A good spot.
