Métier: what do users think?

Brittany H: By far our favorite restaurant in D.C. that we tried during our trip! We decided to celebrate our anniversary here and we are so glad we did. Each dish was so perfectly crafted and exceptional. The chef does an excellent job in making sure you taste all the elements of his dishes. We enjoyed every single single dish & wouldn’t change a thing. They do have the option to upgrade your first dish to Caviar and I have to say it’s a must! The chef and his wife were even so kind to give us an anniversary candle as a gift and we can come back and refill it on our next visit. So thoughtful! They truly made our experience unforgettable. I highly recommend Métier to any and all! You will not be disappointed. We can’t wait to return next year!

Raja Haider Hussain: Just like a state within a state. This restaurant is hidden under basement of another Michelin star kinship. Formal, quiet, serene, classy place to dine out. We were there this year for the Valentines dinner. You can expect good things there.. A Michelin star experience at par with what is expected of them. However, I can’t rate it as 5 star once I compare the food and menu with Michelin star restaurants of Europe. Specially France and Netherlands.

Jeff Schwamb: A true dining experience. Not only is every plate a truly delicious encounter, but the journey is an absolute joyous trip. The wine pairing is unique and exposed me to a unique wine (late harvest sovereign blanc tasting like a dessert ice wine). Top 3 in the city for me.

Kyle Davis: Simply an outstanding meal. Service was great, food was exceptional, dining room was very comfortable. Special shout out to the wine pairings — all incredibly and expertly matched to the course. Highest recommendation.

Matt Glasser: The food was good. My wife, who made the reservation for Valentine’s Day, had written to ask if they could accommodate a pescatarian diner, and they agreed. When we got there, they were nevertheless surprised. It worked out, but was a bit uncomfortable.

Rose's Luxury: what do users think?

Mikayla Rose: This was our first time at a Michelin star restaurant and it was the most delicious and romantic dinner I’ve ever had. My husband and I went for my birthday dinner and it was so special. Our waiter, Ramsey, made the experience so personal and he was amazing! This was hands down the best service I’ve ever received at a restaurant from the moment we walked in until we left. Since it was my birthday, we were given a gift of a recipe and the ingredients we can make at home, as well as a raspberry tart with a candle! I’m incredibly impressed and will be returning. 10/10 recommend. Also, for the meal and service we received it was so worth the money and very reasonably price.

HK: Enjoyed all of the menus we ordered. Rose’s Luxury is a smart creative restaurant- not using any unheard or arcane ingredients or recipe, it effortlessly creates a new combination of tastes. The way it’s priced is hard to understand ($85 per person prefix for dinner regardless of what you order) and may make it relatively more expensive for some combination of dishes. Other than that, food and service was fantastic.

Andrea Bronstein: This was my first time at a Michelin star restaurant and it was an amazing experience. I booked the garden bar area mistakenly thinking it was just for the garden area in general and I’d have a table so I was disappointed when I was seated but it ended up being a great experience. Josh, the bartender, was really personable and knowledgeable and my fiancé and I really enjoyed chatting with him. The food was really good, especially the steak and eggs dish.

Megan Martinez: We loved Rose’s Luxury! Our waiter was extremely nice. The whole staff was super friendly. We got to try 6 dishes since we were a party of three. The lychee salad is a must. The cabbage and chicken were also extremely delicious. We got two deserts and a single coffee French press. They brought us a special tart for my sister since it was her birthday! At the end I was so touched to get a gift at the end of the meal which was a pasta and spice set to make at home!

Carolyn Zacharias: I came in nervously as a solo dinner and ate at the bar - I was immediately greeted by a warm and welcoming staff - from the host to each server explaining the dishes. John and Harley at the bar took excellent care of me through the creation of delicious drinks and perfect recommendations for food. I had the lychee and pork salad which at first glance seemed like a creation of mismatched ingredients, it was both refreshing and hearty. In addition I tried the leek pasta and the soy glazed chicken, both dishes I highly recommend as they are both comforting and creative!

BRESCA: what do users think?

HK: We had a three course dinner and it was absolutely delicious. The amuse bouches were surprisingly delicate and layered in flavor. Dishes came out pretty quickly without delay even though the restaurant was packed on a Saturday night. Would like to visit again!

Tommy Waters: It was our first time at Bresca and I feel the need to leave a review. I don’t typically leave a review unless I’m “moved” one way or another. And this amazing place deserves any positive comment I could possibly leave and then some! From the caviar starter to the ending pieces of dessert heaven the entire experience was just incredible! One word of warning, this place adds on the dollars FAST…. But you will more than likely already know that with just the smallest amount of investigation. With that being said, DO IT! Add on the caviar, add in the wine pairing, add on the black truffle shavings…do it ALL! It’s more than worth it and you won’t be sorry! If you would visit this restaurant don’t expect anything other than a unique experience provided by the talented chef and his crew! Expect amazing service! Expect an outstanding welcome by the hosts/hostesses! Expect an incredible waitstaff team (and if you are lucky enough to have Sherman you are in for a treat)! Just expect an amazing time and pay the expensive bill with the included gratuity knowing they deserve every bit of it and more! This is not a restaurant to go to on a budget. But like I said you’ll probably already expecting it. It’s WORTH IT!!!!!

Amanda Anoh: Went there for the first time for date night. It was an awesome experience! the prices are fixed for the meal courses. The service is great and the food extraordinary. It is exactly a tasting if you will because of the portion but we got the 6 course meal, so it was filing. A simple decor but nice, with a true French approach to service as in silverware, napkins, waiters. The bar was nice as well. I enjoyed myself and will be back.

Marisa Checca: I’ve been several times. Hands down one of the best restaurants in DC. I never knew I liked rhubarb until I tried their tart with foie gras, it was unreal. The seasoning and crust on their duck breast is the best in the city. Their petit fours, especially their Madelines, are some of the best I’ve ever had. They are always generous and give us extra if we ask :) I will keep on going back and back. Their staff is so friendly and I love the decor.

Alexander O'Neill: Definitely a interesting dining experience with food foams galore. If you can, grab one of the cute spots outdoors — it’s a little greenhouse laced with cherry blossoms. I’d recommend doing the three course set menu with the wine pairing. Splurge a little. The favorite dish at the table was BREACA’s take on cacio e pepe. The main course which for us was either venison or wagyu beef was the absolute line between cooked and raw — especially for venison. Regardless everything was very tasty and the staff was excellent. Overall a great time.

Reginald Anadio: Absolutely phenomenal! Highly recommend visiting Bresca. My waitress, Alex, was particularly welcoming, caring, and attentive. From start to finish, I was greeted by immaculate service. After spending a lot of time job hunting and landing one in DC, I decided to celebrate the moment at Bresca. They made the moment feel extremely special. From greeting me with complimentary champagne (Veuve nonetheless!) to tasting a delicious wine, they went well beyond what I could’ve expected. Thank you.

Gaya B: We had a great experience sitting outside in one of those cute little houses. Staff is excellent, really above and beyond experience. Professional and personable. The place has a Michelin star, so you can guess the food is good. :) You can play your own music via Bluetooth in the little house too!

Lin Dinh: Finally got to go to one of those “a little bit for a lot” restaurants and I do not regret it!! Really didn’t think these little bites would fill me up, but boy, was I wrong. Clean, sleek kitchen, very intimate and perfect date night location. The drinks were delicious and super unique. 10/10 would recommend!

Xiquet by Danny Lledó: what do users think?

Clayton Russell: Can you give more than 5-stars?? Wow - my wife and I finally had a night out and we chose the right place. Every detail (and they pay attention to ALL of them) was so eloquent and tailored. The service is impeccable. The food divine. The wine pairing perfection. The atmosphere is like nowhere I’ve ever been. Danny feels more like a gracious host than a world renowned chef. We simply loved this experience and can’t wait to return.

Leslie Matista: I was lucky enough to snag a last minute reservation at Xiquet during an impromptu trip to DC and I was blow away! I’ve stopped in at Slate (the bar downstairs) a couple times for drinks and small plates and it is always fabulous but this was my first time doing the whole experience and it was beyond memorable. I love the concept of progression throughout the restaurant as part of the experience! Every dish was delicious and unique, and the knowledge of the staff really added to the experience. It’s hard to choose a favorite composition but I found the flavor and presentation of the white asparagus and caviar to be especially memorable. Our entire table raved about the paella and the wine pairings as well. I really enjoyed the touch of moving to the lounge for desserts and coffee/after dinner drinks with the chef. Overall One of the best meals and most memorable dining experiences I’ve had!

Ryan Miller: Hands down the best dining experience I’ve had to date. From beginning to end, every dish was amazing and I could feel the creativity and love put into each. Service was phenomenal! Highly recommend to anyone visiting DC.

Claire Lyons: Unforgettable experience celebrating my birthday at Xiquet! Chef’s take the Valencian stew, All I Pebre, was one of the best things I’ve ever tasted. The paella was amazing, of course, and Chef Danny was kind enough to send out a nice birthday surprise before joining us briefly as we finished the menu with coffee, drinks, and sweets in the mezzanine lounge.

Stephanye Loftin: When good fortune gifted us a parking space at Xiquet’s door, our party felt kismet kissed — a clear signal that we were destined for a birthday celebration unmatched! Chef Danny, all-encompassing, you & your team were charming, comforting, & consummate! Maravilloso! We loved every moment of our culinary adventure: • from the first act’s beverage offerings & aperitivos at the Chef’s Counter: Our birthday girl proclaims your Penchi Daiquiri “the best drink she’s ever had!” • to your top floor’s 14-course comida experiencia: Eight mesmerizing offerings continue to electrify conversation — caviar service; grilled octopus w/grapes; sea cucumber; tartare Ibèric; fennel; dover sole; oxtail; & wagyu. • to the final act’s after-dinner treats in your mezzanine lounge: Confections of sweet delight! Chef, we felt welcomed & favored at Xiquet. Thank you for granting us a view into the framing of your evening’s culinary masterpiece. Perfección!

Lisa Brundage: Best meal in DC. Creative dishes with incredible depth and a great wine pairing.

Ben L.: Wife and I went here for our anniversary dinner and Xiquet knocked it out of the park. The food was phenomenal and the service was impeccable. We thoroughly enjoyed the start at the chef’s counter, then progressing to dinner and capping our night with an after dinner beverage. A wonderful place for any special occasion, all because of the attention to detail (from the food to the service). My wife and I loved our experience and can’t thank the chefs and the service staff for making our night a memorable one.

Pineapple and Pearls: what do users think?

AlixTakesaBite: Amazing experience at the chefs counter! We got 10 courses and each bite was filled with unique texture and flavor combinations. Service was also flawless, which is to be expected from a two Michelin star restaurant. It really held up to the hype. I highly recommend! ig: @whetyourappetites

Andrew Pitts: Absolutely unbelievable dining experience. From the moment you walk in and are greeted with a smile and a glass of champagne, to the exit gift, P&P delivered an extraordinary meal from start to finish! Thank you!

rebecca weaver: Everything was amazing. My personal favorite was the breakfast, which was a sourdough french toast with blue cheese and truffle, and it was one of the best dishes I have ever had. The entire experience was simply Devine. Since we went to celebrate a birthday, we even got a parting gift of a signed menu, a pineapple candy shaped as a pearl, and they made a donation for each guest. I would definitely go back to celebrate another event.

Robert Ames: Get ready for a truly special and enjoyable evening. A truly memorable experience. As soon as you enter Pineapple and Pearls, they make it clear this is your night and they are there to take care of you. We were started with a delicious white tea while we waited and then were seated in the beautiful dining area. You will be stricken by how quiet it is despite the chefs working right there. They demonstrate discipline. There is no drama here. Just absolute focus on making delicious courses. We traveled along a 10 or so tasting course. Each course is gorgeous looking. Served beautifully and delicious. The pairings - both alcoholic and non-alcoholic were spot on. What I like is it’s not just wine on the alcohol side. They had some truly delicious and unique ciders tonight and a smoked beer that was perfect. We loved all the dishes. I would say that we enjoyed the desserts more on our last visit. They were more innovative and surprising. These weren’t bad, they just weren’t sensational. They focus on taking care of any dietary concerns. In fact, you hear the entire chef gang calling and repeating the needs of each visitor as they begin. It was a beautiful evening. Fit for a special occasion.

minibar by José Andrés: what do users think?

Cynthia M: Absolutely phenomenal experience!! Husband took me to celebrate my birthday here and not only did we have amazingly delicious food, but the service was impeccable. I also appreciated the fun atmosphere they created for everyone and thought it was really nice being able to sit all around the kitchen and being able to observe the chefs create the dishes. We didn’t do the wine pairing but did order some cocktails, which were also spectacular (they do give you a few for free too!). For my birthday, they served me a cheesecake at the end and were very kind to help us take a Polaroid photo for us to keep! We were also sent home with a delicious milk bread. Absolutely enjoyed this experience and adored this Japanese inspired menu. Thank you for a memorable night, minibar!!

Ashley Evans: The cocktail experience was phenomenal! Such a fun experience for two people. We got the black truffle grilled cheese as a snack - delicious!

Yolanda Zhou: Everything was beautiful at minibar, even the bathroom. The service, presentation, and overall experience was amazing. The pacing was a little slow but was made up by the chefs plating the dishes right in front of you. My favorites were the corn and caviar, soy chicharron, nori senbei, and strawberry milk. We tried the gin and juice cocktail from barmini, which was wonderful as well.

Jesse: Japanese-inspired chef counter experience. Very elegent and minimal; inventive preparation; and unique and surprising.

Douglas Anderson: Best dining experience in the US. From the staff, to the facility to the food. OUTSTANDING

Angelique Garcia: Such an awesome experience! By far one of the best restaurants in D.C... The only thing is I wouldn’t gave gotten the wine pairing if I had known what I’d be served. Only one red, fairly sweet whites for my palate, and the pours were more of a tasting than a pairing. The food and service were impeccable though. Thank you Minibar chefs and José Andrés!

George Junca: Amazing food and totally fantastic experience, service is totally on point and elevates the dining experience overall. The wine pairings were perfect and really liked some if the playful elements like the bahn mi that looks like is served on roll but is actually made of apple, the chicharron that has no pork, etc.

Matt Watier: Second time here and it was a treat. The real standouts was the lobster and duck egg, and the forest floor mushroom dish. A great example of how modern gastronomy can bring together flavors texture and temperatures that traditionally cooked food can not.

Victor Wang: An out of this world experience with some of the most whimsical and delicious food. Service was very attentive and watching the chefs create art in front of your eyes was magical. Be sure to make reservations as soon as they release them online. The wine pairings all worked perfectly and everyone was extremely knowledgeable.

Blue Duck Tavern: what do users think?

Michelle Wiciak: Absolutely phenomenal. This place has the best duck ever. Honestly, everything we had was amazing--from the charcuterie board to the horseradish potatoes to the chocolate peanut butter cake. A well-rounded meal. Not to mention, our waiter did an excellent job at recommending our wine selection and paired beautifully with our dishes. Just an amazing experience and will come back when we are in the city again.

Tilak Kalaria: Blue Duck Tavern in the Park Hyatt is an amazing dining experience. The ambience and the service match the excellent cocktails, wine, and cuisine. You truly get what you pay for and you do pay don’t get me wrong but WoW everything tastes excellent and the service team’s attention to detail elevates the experience. The bone marrow and the duck were my favourite dishes to name a couple. Intriguingly delicious was their house bread with olives! Excellent dining experience that is worth the price. Cheers.

Kim Nguyen: Wow. We were so impressed with the quality of the food here. It’s my first time in DC and after a bit of researching for fine dining restaurant, we decided to try Blue Duck Tavern. I was able to make a last minute reservation for 2 at 8:30pm. Their bone marrow and duck breast were so bomb. The service was amazing as well. Highly recommend!

Jerry’s Adventure: Service, value, flavor it hits all the marks The short ribs were tender and melts in your mouth. And with a smoky flavor 👌 the egg 🥚 is cooked perfectly as it gives a creamy texture to the dish. The biscuit holds up with good structure, but it’s flavor may not be as accentuated as it can be (mostly herbs) and can use a gravy. Pancakes were fluffy as expected and presentation is beautiful 😌 Overall a must go in DC area

Vivian Cheng: Went for lunch. Food is solid, well-executed. We had the cured ocean trout (delicious!) and the kale salad (perfect) with two entrees. Crab cakes are large and delicious. Well seasoned, paired with a salad. I had the confit duck leg. Flavorful, succulent, with a beautiful crispy skin. Sadly, we were too full for dessert. Well-worth a visit.

Tamila Torab Eghdami: It was my first time eating duck. The food was absolutely delicious! 😋 The service was amazing. Too bad we didn’t have time to go back for the second time but next time I’m in Washington definitely we’ll go back. We also tried their apple pie with tea and it was the best apple pie I ever had in my whole life. This restaurant worth your money and time!

Amer Alsamman: Went for our anniversary. The staff were curtious, and friendly. Our waiter went above and beyond to make make our experience great The apple pie was amazing. I had the beef rib which was good but had more fat veins than expected.

Kinship: what do users think?

Andrea Bindewald: My husband and I celebrated our 16th anniversary dinner here this week. We had an awesome time. The service was amazing, and the atmosphere was perfect. Great lighting, good background music, and the restaurant was cozy but not overcrowded. The food and drinks were top notch. Paced well. The plating was beautiful and the various combinations of flavor profiles was really interesting and delicious. Highly recommend making reservations as they book up sometimes a week out. Only open Wed-Sun

Guilherme Montassier: The ambiance is very modern and light. It feels like you are in an art gallery waiting for new paintings to arrive, in between exhibits. The food is definitely above your average restaurant, with well thought flavor combinations and lovely presentation. Most of the dishes did not dazzle me, but the kinship roast chicken is a delight. Roast chicken done to perfection. I was also very surprised by the black forest cake. Overall a good experience, but am not planning a return for now.

Shannen: One of the best dinners I’ve had in DC to date! My boyfriend took me here for my birthday, and there was a little handwritten birthday note at the table when we arrived. Food was amazing; we truly loved everything we ordered (the potatoes served with the ribeye were too salty, though). Drinks were good too. Service was awesome, and I wish I could remember our main server’s name, because he was incredible. In summary, I highly recommend this spot for your next special occasion!!

Manda B: Best dining experience of my life. We had an incredible amount of fun. And if Matthew is your server, consider yourself incredibly incredibly lucky Lobster French toast 👌 Duck dish. 👌 Carrot cake... Killed us ♥️👌♥️👌

Rebecca Kaufman: One of my favorite places to eat in DC. Is it expensive? Yes. Expect to spend about $100-$150 a person if eating well and drinking cocktails or glasses of wine. However this is one of the few places that you will never be disappointed with the quality of food, service, and general atmosphere. It is absolutely worth every penny spent.

Jônt: what do users think?

Naresh Singh: The chef’s counter experience is not to be missed if you are in D.C. Unexpected dishes and consistently good execution. Fantastic wine pairing - I opted for the normal version. Dessert is a full, decadent experience all by itself. The staff is wonderful too.

Jeffie: Had an amazing 1 year anniversary with my fiancé. The service were welcoming and elegant. The “secrete room” element was definitely the wow factor! The food was very creative with the perfect oriental aspiration. The separated dessert area gave us another layer of new experience. I was very impressed that our waitress explained the origin of matcha thoroughly. I hope the restaurant can release the seasonal menu so that we can have a preview and come back again.

H Lee: I’ve been fortunate enough to have enjoyed the Chef’s Counter experience here a few times and each has been deliciously memorable. Looking back at all the dishes, some patterns emerge that define Chef Ryan’s vision for Jont and his unique perspective on fine dining. First, he has a few core proteins he likes to use to serve as the backbone of the overall experience – waygu beef, caviar, and duck. It’s a strong protein trio as it includes some of the most refined elements from land, sea, and air. From this initial framework, he adds nuanced flavors from seasonal ingredients and uses both advanced cooking and playful plating techniques to create haute cuisine that is delicious as it is artistic. Second, he doesn’t think of dessert as an afterthought. Most high-end restaurants get this wrong. Either they provide too few options or the options they do provide lack the imagination and finesse of the main entrees. At Jont, Chef Ryan and his team use dessert the same way a writer uses an exclamation point to punctuate and emphasize an overall sentiment – You’re going to remember this! Third, he understands how all the details matter from the overall layout of the counter and kitchen, to the exquisite glassware/flatware, and the overall impeccable food service. It’s clear that Chef Ryan and his team have created something special here at Jont and are deserving of their two Michelin stars. If you’re lucky enough to dine here be sure to ask the staff about the story of the White Rabbit.

S H: Best restaurant I’ve experienced in my life. Everything on point. You won’t be disappointed.

Cranes: what do users think?

Cynthia M: Spectacular food. My husband and I did the omakase which was 6 course meal and 3 course dessert. The food’s flavor, texture, freshness, aesthetics—everything was great. I thoroughly enjoyed the experience. We shared a sparkling sake this time and I don’t typically like sake but that was actually really yummy too. Would love to try out their cocktails next time!

Abby: Wonderful dining experience here. We got the omakase with cocktails for dinner, and the flavors of every dish were amazing. My favorite one would have to be the duck with a blueberry sauce on the side. The ambiance was great, and the service was good - it had taken a bit of time before they took our orders, so they got us oysters on the house (which were delicious). We were there to celebrate a graduation, and there was a hand-written note on the table for us, which was a nice touch. I’d come back again for their happy hour and to dine again.

Aditya Karandikar: First time dining at a Michelin star restaurant did not disappoint. We did the omakase 10 course meal and had an absolute blast. The dining experience itself was fairly typical except for the multitude of courses. The food was at times experimental/complex and at other times straight down the middle, designed to please. The balance was well-executed and we left extremely satisfied. Service was soft spoken but perfect. Quite filling as well, definitely go hungry!

Renee Ethier: Amazing experience. Everything we had on the omakase menu was delicious, beautiful, and truly unique. The decor and service was top notch. It was all what you’d expect from a Michelin star restaurant. I can’t wait to go back.

Joe Guevara: Luckily this was a business dinner because it’s definitely pricey - but still worth it. Service - Amazing; I wish I could hire the server as a salesperson. The food - also amazing. The portions are perfect to order multiple things to share between a group - they are small (tapa) sized but we were still full by the end. My highlights were the risotto, the oysters (great sauce & quality), and for some reason the enoki mushrooms on whatever dish the picture has with the pickled onion/etc - the flavor profile of that dish was amazing. Still water that costs $18 a bottle seems overkill though. 🙄

Allen N: My sister and brother-in-law took us here for lunch. It’s a beautiful restaurant space with comfortable but excellent service and a Michelin star. They’re cuisine style is “Spanish kaiseki” and they do a great job blending Japanese touches with a Spanish flair. We ordered the executive kaiseki and added on a few extras. The oysters were delicious and unagi paella was another favorite! The meal and experience as a whole was very enjoyable. Already looking forward to our next meal here!

Masseria: what do users think?

Ryan Montoya: This was the best meal I’ve had with my wife in Washington DC, and I can’t believe it was take out. The staff were very friendly and professional and allowed me to wait at the bar for my pickup order. At home the meal included heating and preparation tips which was an excellent touch. A lot of care was put into how well the food would travel and reheat and the restaurant did an amazing job. Every course was perfect and my wife and I were stunned at how transcendent every single component was. We were remiss because we’ve always wanted to eat here in person but both the pandemic and getting childcare has prevented us. After this experience we will absolutely order again and hopefully be able to finally dine in person soon. I can’t recommend their “a casa” service enough, and also recommend adding their desert course.

Renee Ethier: Masseria didn’t disappoint. I had a lovely birthday dinner here. The service was top notch, the restaurant was beautiful, and the food and drinks were amazing. We added the foie gras mini cannoli, which was SO worth it. They even sent us on our way with a gift bag with some goodies. Everything was perfect.

abigail snoznik: Masseria was one of my favorite tasting menus in DC. We sat at the chef’s counter and got the tasting menu and wine pairing. The meal starts with a homemade kombucha and only gets better. We had 8 dishes beginning with bread, and following up with various plates including a fish, octopus, 2 pastas, and duck. I especially loved the beet dish and linguine (I really really loved the linguine.) They finish things off with a gift bag including some desserts and olive oil. Atmosphere and service were both great. 5 stars.

Naresh Singh: Birthday lunch. This is probably the most unique Italian spot I’ve experienced so far and it’s obvious why they earned a Michelin star. Ambiance is great inside and the outdoor seating area is a nice touch. Cigars are available outside too!

Tail Up Goat: what do users think?

Annette R: Medium sized, 1st floor restaurant with outdoor dining. Concept is small, medium, or large plates. The menu is not big but very diverse. Prices are reasonable considering that it has a Michelin star. Reservations required. Restaurant has music playing in the background at a low-medium level & patrons are talking at a medium to loud level. Unique cocktails. All of our dishes were plated beautifully and very tasty. The corn dessert was delicious. We also had the cod, rice with shrimp & rock fish. There is a 22% service charge included & it is printed on the receipt & told to us by our waiter.

Ho Diem Tho: 4.5 stars for all, i think This is the course food so you have to take from snack to desserts. It costs 95$/person. 22% service and tip recommended. I came with 3 of my friends, we ordered one wine bottle and the total paid is 585$ not including tip The meals are good excepting for snacks, it is too salty to me

Ina Li: Elevated bistro comfort food and nice ambiance on a quiet street. The salt cod fritters and the sourdough with ricotta and orange marmalade are the highlights are the meal. Everything is rich in flavors and on the heavier side. The only thing that bothered us was the 22% mandatory service charge, which really is a lot on top of the already pricy menu, even considering the covid hardship.

Natalia Suska: So so so so yummy!! My partner and I tried a variety of different foods and everything was excellent. The ambiance was great too. A bit expensive but I can understand why, given how unique and incredible the food was. I’d go back.

Natalie Caldwell: What an experience. A Michelin star restaurant restaurant with the most friendly staff, that doesn’t take itself too seriously. We were advised on everything - from the food to the best wine pairings with what we ordered (we even got a little something extra since they thought it was a better flavor compliment). Everything was inventive, unique, and so tasty. We cannot wait to go back! For the food - (this was shared between two adults) Spiced tuna crudo- some of the best tuna you’ll ever have. Melts in your mouth, perfect balance of flavor. Bacon braised salsify- um this was amazing. A root vegetable (carrot-like) that was braised in bacon fat and covered in bbq sauce. SO GOOD. Carolina gold rice- understated but fantastic. This paired perfectly with a French Chardonnay. Ribeye - fantastic cut and perfectly cooked. The rolls with the marrow butter were a total unsung hero. That alone was a winning pairing. Now dessert - HOLY MOLEY. Get the Honey tart. Imagine a mini pie with a crust of oats and coffee. The inside is filled with a whipped oat filling and crisped to a merengue on top. Omg - FRICKEN amazing. This was such a wonderful evening. Thank you Tail Up Goat for making it so.

Brianna dimercurio: Tonight I decided to dine at Tail up Goat and it was such a great decision. I started with the salt cod which has been a staple for around 5 years and it was crunchy, briny and delicious. The carrot and chickpea panisse was bursting with carrot flavor and was so fresh and hit the spot. I followed these with the sourdough with ricotta infused with turnip and a blood orange marmalade. The bread was crispy yet tender and the accoutrements were perfect. I finished with the honey nut squash which was roasted to perfection and the dill with the yogurt was clean and reminded me of summertime, and with the black garlic created a sweet finish. I did have a desert with almond Madelines and quince but it was devoured so fast, a picture was never captured. This place was perfect for a solo diner but also a small group or a romantic date!

Vy H.: Came here last night for dinner and glad we had reservations because it was busy! I love that this restaurant requires proof of Covid vaccination or negative test results in order to dine inside—made me feel more at ease. And the staff is so friendly and attentive! They start you off with a small complimentary shot of cantaloupe ginger non-alcoholic sparkling shot—tasty and pretty refreshing. The Chicken Liver Mousse (small plate) was delicious—but I did not like the plum jam that was on top, so I scraped it off. You can order extra brioche bread, 4 slices for $1. The Roasted Eggplant (medium plate) was okay, nothing too special—I did like that they added a small piece of pork belly in the dish! The Seared Tilefish (large plate) was good—the almond skordalia was a good addition to it, and the butter on top melted enough so the fish wasn’t too dry. I personally would have liked this dish to be more salty, it was a bit bland for my taste. Note: There is an automatic 22% service charge to your bill—they are very upfront about it and even stamp a note on your bill, to reiterate. Parking is a nightmare around this area!! I had to circle around the whole area 5 times before finding street parking a few blocks away—so factor in extra time if you drive here. I didn’t notice any parking garages nearby.

Josh Axelrod: A fabulous dining experience, from the immaculately crafted dishes, to the extremely helpful staff, to the romantic and cozy atmosphere. A worthwhile splurge for a perfect date night.

Alex Chen: It’s amazing when a meal is so good that no single dish is a standout (or, perhaps EVERY dish was a standout?). What sets Tail Up Goat apart is how perfectly balanced everything is: dishes feel both new yet familiar, presentation is a feast for the eyes, textures sing with each bite, and flavors blend together with a rare harmony. Everything we tried was accompanied with “ooohs” and “ahhs”. Ambiance was buzzy but still cozy around the prime dinner hour, and the service was attentive and helpful. We wrapped up feeling more than satiated, and I left already plotting our next return.

The Dabney: what do users think?

Jiaren Li: Well deserving of the accolades! The meal was extraordinarily enjoyable and our waitress was both insightful of the food and friendly. I was surprisingly mind blown by the roasted vegetables - superb ingredients and good techniques make something appear so simple but feels like beyond my ability to replicate at home.

Jessica C: The Dabney is my go-to for special occasions. It’s pricey but whenever my friend from the west coast comes for a visit, it’s our fancy/celebratory reunion dinner. The wait staff is always friendly and they pay you great attention. There are lots of little touches that make this place great (i.e., my friend and I remembered how much we loved the bread and butter last time we came, and the staff gave us tiny jars of the butter to take home with us. The butter is so good you could eat it with a spoon). The snacks/first course were delicious. Even something as boring as a radish turned into a highlight of the meal (I avoid seafood but they made great substations with the pre-fixe menu to accommodate me). The meat is cooked beautifully (though I admit the lamb was fattier than I typically enjoy — see photo) and the egg tart was my favorite dish. The drink was aromatic and lovely. If you can save up for a fancy dinner, go.

Logan Kenney: Amazing farm to table meal, definitely worthy of the star! The food was perfectly prepared and the dishes were extremely well thought out. One of my favorite D.C. spots, it’s a must every time I go.

Beth H: A warm and relaxed place where culinary artists skillfully transform foraged and locally sourced ingredients into edible masterpieces. The finished product unfolds course upon course like symphonic movements, building on a theme, revisiting subtle refrains, interposing cleaver variations, and culminating in a memorable, once-in-a-lifetime edible aesthetic experience!

Nicholas Stephens: Absolutely loved it! Wait staff was super friendly, everyone said hello coming in and thank you, have a good night heading out. Our server, Christian, was very knowledgeable about the menu, offered great suggestions and was patient with our questions. Had a 5-course meal, including snacks, appetizers, entree, dessert and parting sweet treats for the road. A Michelin star restaurant tucked into Blagden Alley, worth the trip and the experience! Enjoy some of the artwork in the Alley, as well, right at the DC Alley Museum a few steps away. To the entire staff, thank you and I hope to see you again soon. Have a great night!

Julia Gooding: We walked in and we’re thankful to be able to have the choice of the fixed or a la carte. We opted to order from the menu. Warning: portions are really small, so be prepared to order a lot or don’t come super hungry. We joked you get but a dab of food (a La carte at least) at The Dabney, but it’s a tasty dab! Some highlights were hen of the woods, scallops, and the wild meringue desert. But I think the dark chocolate gelato could be darker and richer. Cocktails were interesting but I didn’t find them that interesting in terms of depth/layers of flavor. Really nice staff and positive experience, but a star off because my expectations (with the star) were quite high!

Matt Monarch: Great tasting menu, but probably not worth splurging on given the other options you have in DC. The catfish sliders are worth adding. All the other food pictured was very good but unspectacular.

Christine S: I’ve been here on several occasions, and the Dabney has always been consistently great. Quality of the ingredients really shine here, and the service is stellar. I still remember my first visit when I bit into a carrot and thought “this is what a carrot should taste like.” (LOL…I’m serious though). If you’re someone who appreciates quality ingredients from great suppliers, don’t miss out! From their latest menu (as of September 2021), I tried their chilled corn soup with Maryland crab, tomato tartine, lamb, and nectarine sorbet. I highly recommend the chilled corn soup! Cozy ambiance and great drink menu

Rooster & Owl: what do users think?

Tilak Kalaria: Rooster & Owl is the real deal in DC. Their Michelin star is well deserved. Their ambience provides the familiar hustle and bustle of a city. Their service is incredibly top notch, I can’t over express their attention to detail. We tried absolutely everything on the menu and WOW it all packed tons of unique and delicious flavours that were exciting to try and warming in comfort. Their cocktails including their own whiskey compliment the menu excellently. We also had a delicious bottle wine. I must say their pastry chef went above and beyond for us as we took the dessert to go. I highly recommend going out of your way to experience dining at Rooster & Owl!

The Hero Signal: Fantastic experience. Came in for our anniversary, we asked our server for recommendations and everything she recommended was amazing. The portions are generally big enough to share between two people, so feel free to order different items off the menu and share with your dining partner. We enjoyed every single dish we were served, even the rolls rough to us before the meal and the cookies provided with the check. We will definitely go back next time we visit DC.

Chris Walker: Fantastic night out with some different dishes and flavors. Go with friends (at least 4) and order the whole menu! You won’t be disappointed. From the salmon, to the scallion pancake, the steak, and the carrot pasta. Well deserved Michelin Star!

Leon Lin: Decent price, large portion overall, varied service, average to good taste, might come again. This seemed like one of the better value set menu places here, and it met expectations. Liked the beef with the peanuts (was it short rib?), salad, bread, and dessert. Taste was good, and the peanut crunch contrast with the beef is a nice touch. Thought the longer peanuts with the fish were a miss, was afraid half the time I was eating a bone. Service seemed over enthusiastic at clearing my plates, perhaps since I was dining alone.

Lisa Pan: 4 course meal. It came with a Hong Kong style pineapple bun for bread and it was delicious! Each course was tasty and surprisingly filling. You can really tell the Asian inspired flavors. The waiters are very knowledgeable about the menu items. We picked the courses individually instead of sharing, but the plates are definitely shareable (and they recommend to). I don’t feel the need to come back and re-taste the dishes until there’s new menu items, but It’s definitely worth trying out once. The Michelin star is well deserved. We had a flight to catch within a few hours and the staff was extremely accommodating and brought out the next courses quickly. Needless to say, the service here is amazing.

Andrea Martin: Great dining experience- great service (Kai, I hope I spelled that right) and great dining experience, the flavors were great octopus ceviche was a definite standout-the menu set up is unique- 2 people get to try 50% of the taste menu for 4 courses and a set price of $85. Both cocktails were great that were tried and the drink special also came with a bottle of wine. If you are visiting DC please add this to you must try. No qualms or sad ideas when signing the check.

Diana Milena Lopez Avila: We went to celebrate our anniversary and we had an amazing time despite the fact we had chosen the patio and it was extremely windy. Our waiter, Ralph, was very helpful and attentive. The food was absolutely delicious. Because we were celebrating our anniversary we got a glass of champagne and a card signed by all the staff.

ashley sprinkel: What am amazing place! The staff was so sweet and friendly. The food was fabulous. Each course was incredible and well plated. I left full and happy. Since we went for our anniversary they greeted us with champagne and a sweet card signed by the staff. Since I don’t drink alcohol they gave me a nonalcoholic champagne. My favorite courses were the steak diane and the pistachio dacquoise. All the courses had great flavor and plating those two were just beyond delicious. I will definitely be back to enjoy a meal in the future. The outdoor patio seating was very pleasant with heaters to keep it comfortable on a chilly night.

Fiola: what do users think?

Brittany H: Dinner here was exceptional. Service staff was amazing. We did the harvest menu where you get to pick 4 items yourself and the chef picks the others for you. We had not one complaint. Every dish was delicious. Some of our favorites were the Eggplant Mousse, Langoustine, Childhood(Pasta), Farmers Steak(Wagyu)& the Sweet Beginnings(Pumpkin Spice "Latte," Honeynut Squash Gelato). It felt like by the end of the night we must of had 15+ dishes. Oh and the cocktails! Such an experience. Highly recommend ordering their specialty cocktails. It is like nothing you’ve experience before! Super creative & fun. Needless to say, you definitely get your moneys worth and will not leave hungry or unhappy. It was an amazing experience and we can’t wait to go back next time we’re in D.C.!

Hazel Sun: The yurt experience was beautiful. The design of the dishes, taste, and presentation were all creative and thoughtful. Also the portion sizes are very generous. The food itself was good, not amazing considering the price. But consider everything it’s worth the ticket. My favorite part was the pasta, mind-blowing. Not so impressed with my pork chop entry. The chickpea part was amazing, the pork itself was a bit boring.

Stacey King: Start to finish, a great experience with the tasting menu. But we were not as thrilled with the wine pairing. For $150 each we got 5 maybe 2-3 oz pours. And we were only delighted by one of the wines. But the service was outstanding.

nora a: my husband surprised me with a birthday dinner here and let me tell you, best food experience ever for the both of us. Everyone was so nice, the chef was very accommodating with our food substitutes and everything was perfect. It felt like a party in my mouth with every bite, so delicious! Will be back. Thank you again.

Dylan Prévost: Absolutely delightful celebration of spring. Fiola focuses heavily on local and seasonal produce, highlighting their selections in their written and spoken descriptions. The yurt was beautifully adorned, with good heating and options for ventilation, and came with its own little speaker, playing tasteful international music. Overall, we loved the atmosphere and the stunning diversity of the courses. Presentation of the dishes was clearly important to the chefs, truly eye candy when it arrives. The service was excellent and I was delighted to be offered a complementary dessert, based on the occasion we were celebrating. While we were impressed with most of the dishes, some fell short of excellence. Winners: the amouse bouche, seafood broth spaghetti antipasto, calabrian chili gremolata, au jus served in a burnt onion Less satisfied: dry/firm entree meats, a tiramisu whose chocolateyness was much too overpowering (despite its otherwise fun and novel style choices)

David Thomson: Best staff anywhere. Most of the courses were perfectly balanced. The peach and heirloom tomato gazpacho was my favorite.

Katsuyoshi Okuna: Elegant Italian cuisine. Wine list is amazing!

Tulsi: We had an amazing late birthday celebration at Fiola. They went above and beyond to make the evening special and memorable. The cupcakes they made for the occasion were the best we could remember - to die for. Whoever is running the pastry/baking and pastas knows what they’re doing! The seafood and cheese courses were also a highlight. Will def be back to try new items from their a la carte and wine list! Thank you to everyone involved in our meal ❤️🙂.

Happy Gyro: what do users think?

Matthew Laudone: First time checking this place out and it will definitely be one of my top choices when I am in town. Tried multiple different items and they were all excellent. I love that the Vodka sauce is actually spicy and not a sugar bomb. The staff is super friendly and do not sleep on the ice cream. Even 30 min after I picked it up everything was great.

Iris Maute-Gibson: Everything that the team at Happy Gyro does is the best of its kind -- their sourdough pizza, ice cream, appetizers. Every time we try something knew, it becomes a favorite.Their whole team is warm and delightful to boot!

Anjali Mittu: The food was delicious and unique. We went during Happy Gyro and loved all the vegetarian food!

Charlotte Misewicz: Just had my first Komi experience and it was hands down the best meal I’ve had in my life. My boyfriend and I are making our way through the DC Michelin Star places and decided to try Komi for a belated Valentines dinner. Komi has been the best thus far with zero competition from the others. There’s just no comparison, and the fact that it was almost half the cost of Pineapple & Pearls made it that much better. I have to comment on how amazing the staff is first. Kyle was attentive, hilarious, and knowledgeable. I didn’t catch the name of the woman helping us but she had short brown hair and was just wonderful. The first 4-5 courses are small but so delightfully balanced and flavorful with simple and fresh ingredients. The figs were to die for and so were the scallops. The pasta we were told is handmade every day and was the best I’ve ever had. Everything was perfectly seasoned and it was timed incredibly well. My partner and I don’t drink but they brought us a non alcoholic drink to try that was just incredible. Everything they brought was better than the last. The desserts at the end were just a perfect finish to the most incredible meal. Can’t wait to go back.

Mary Lu: Amazing dinner experience that offered a lot of familiar flavors, but with an elevated twist. My husband and I split the wine pairing and got to enjoy a nice variety. Although the dishes came out slow, we had a great time and came home with leftovers.

Gravitas: what do users think?

Silvia Noelia: The service was exquisite!! 💕 Celebrated my dad’s birthday at Gravitas and we received impeccable attention with our waiter and everyone else who was part of our food service! The food was delightful and I would recommend anyone to try their 3 or 5 course meal at Gravitas! Angelo was awesome and everyone made us feel welcomed! Thank you Gravitas for making my dads day special!

Lily Pitha: The food was fantastic and imaginative. From the first course to the last everything was delicious. The wait staff were completely perfect. We had the special experience of sitting at the kitchen and getting a menu chosen by the chefs. In addition to the great food we also saw how the kitchen ran and time and effort put into plating and presentation. Would absolutely recommend!

Convivial: what do users think?

Esraa Malha: Went for dinner last night and it was by far one of the best dinners I had in DC. The chef worked with me to help select dishes to accommodate my dietary restrictions. The dessert was amazing and super light we didn’t feel guilty having 3 different ones! Highly recommend dining there.

Prem Mithilesh Morampudi: I love the staff, Very friendly. Great food and drinks. Excellent desserts and espresso. Michelin recommended. The patio seating could use an update and indoor could use some air fresheners.

sahithi ellanki: The entrees were a good portion size but I think they could have used a little more flavor. The desserts were absolutely amazing. I had the Sticky toffee pudding and the chocolate souffle

Jean Ng: The name says it all for the dining experience here. The room is well spaced out, warmly decorated and allow decent conversation with your meal parties. The food is really good if not outstanding. Ingredients are fresh and served in generous portions. I’m glad i didnt order any appetiser otherwise I wont be able to have room for more sinful dessert. Beet of my heart, I kid you not thats the cocktail I ordered. And you guessed it right it has beet in it. Its a concoction of burned beet syrup with bourbon. The drink sounded weirdly phony but its actually quite well mixed and tasted refreshing. Highly recommended

Belkiss Anane: Loved the Almond Croissant and my friend loved her quiche, but my foie gras dish was a little too cold so all the fat was pretty hardened- I would have preferred it at room temperature or slightly warm. Would definitely come back to eat here though!

ESB NYC: Pleasant French place in NW DC, kinda pricey for the experience but it’s decent. Service was good, room is nice. I had the bouillabaisse, pretty good.

Equinox Restaurant: what do users think?

Joshua Wiley: Went here for one of my many birthday dinners. As a new vegetarian this place definitely had a menu with me in mind. I was stuffed when I left. We had the menu with five courses and enjoyed every single one of them. Amazing. Would definitely go again, don’t know the price because i didn’t pay. 😇

Archana Raju: This place has been on my must try restaurants list forever, and finally made it on my birthday. We tried the five course meal. While each dish was carefully thought through and well presented, I think the beet salad didn’t really work (it was bitter) and grilled eggplant was a bit bland. Though I don’t typically enjoy mushrooms as much, I was blown by the Hen of mushrooms dish, and absolute winner. Overall, I would recommend this place!

Sunny Sanghani: Enjoyed the vegan brunch menu; lots of food and all tasted great.

Angela Su: We came for restaurant week and it was a great deal! Loved the plant based options. We had to wait 15 min for our table after we arrived on time for our reservation but it was worth it once we were seated. The mushroom dish was delicious and the portions for all courses were huge. Definitely ended the meal full and satisfied.

Henry Jones: A friend of my family told me ages ago to eat sometime at Equinox. I finally did this evening and am so glad. I had the truffled macaroni and cheese to begin, which was served in a mini cast iron vessel and tasted of cheese and herbs in a way that I could never achieve at home. Then I had the fennel-spiced Mediterranean turbot filet. The staff were very proud of the turbot—one saw it as he walked past and said, “oh you ordered the turbot,” with a big smile. If I were on the staff of a place that served food like this, I would be very proud, too. The turbot was meaty, slightly flaky, and golden on top. It was served on a bed of spinach, a carrot, roasted heart of palm, and braised endive, and there was an orange sauce. It was garnished with fried rings which I think were potatoes and there were red berries, too. I was there for an early dinner, having planned for a long afternoon at the National Gallery followed by early dinner before the final leg of a train trip from NYC to Virginia. The staff made sure the timing was right for me to get to the train and that I knew how to get to Union Station. What thoughtful people and exquisite food. I can hardly wait to eat at Equinox again.

Sushi Nakazawa: what do users think?

Loren: Sushi that melts in your mouth. Initial server was a bit snobby, but thankfully the others were better. Restaurant’s entrance is also a bit difficult to find. High price point, but likely the best sushi I’ve had in DC.

luci wang: Great traditional style nigiri omakase. Everything was super fresh and excellently prepared. We added A5 wagyu and uni tasters

Elle P: Absolutely blown away by the super omakase menu. Such a unique experience. One of the best dinners I’ve had in DC! Caviar, a fatty tuna flight, uni flight, raw oysters, nigiri… all prepared right in front of you. And now they’re open 7 days a week for lunch and dinner. Highly recommend.

Klara Cheung: Some street parking available with this being in DC. We had a great time time and the food was delicious. It was an amazing experience and we enjoyed every bit of it. Service was impeccable. We ordered the bottle of the Dewazakura Boquet [$95]. They pour it for you and keep the bottle elsewhere and fill up your glass as it gets low. We opted for the Premium Omakase Experience [$150]/ person]. Each piece selected was amazing and full of flavor. They have chopsticks, a wet towel wipe and ginger at the table for you. Started off with a warm hand towel wipe. Ended the evening with some green tea and egg custard at the end. Loved every bit of this experience. We also ordered the Gold Osetra Caviar as one of the supplements that came a little over halfway through. Also very delicious.
