United States Postal Service: what do users think?

Erica Mckenney: I had a great experience with the people in the passport office when I went to get a renewal. They explained the process well and I was in and out in 15 minutes. They lady was also nice when I mailed my package.

Princess White: I don’t know what’s going on with this postal office but it’s no reason why I live in another state and still waiting on my package to be delivered. I ses a lot of people complaining about this postal office not delivering packages on time. My package was delivered a week ago. It now says that it’ was suppose to be delivered on March 28, 2022 I still have yet to receive my package. I just got a Alert that my package is being held at this Facility. People spend they hard earn money on packages to be delivered and you have people working here stealing this place needs to be reported and I will be making reports and going to the higher power about mines.

Katherine T. Bates: This location of USPS is the worst! Terrible Customer Service (there are a few exceptions when clerks are polite, knowledgeable & helpful) ...how does The Main P.O. in DC Not have a roll of stamps? I have stopped coming to this P.O. & now go out of my way to go to the P.O. on Kenilworth Avenue...the parking is hassle free..the wait in line is reasonable...the clerks are knowledgeable, friendly & always have supplies I need.. i.e. A Roll of Sttamps!! Please do better DC Main Post Office..your representation matters!

Kellyse Hood: I’m only leaving this review for MERCEDES! She had the ABSOLUTE BEST CUSTOMER SERVICE IN THE ENTIRE OFFICE. I had the opposite experience with WILL. I feel that this employee makes customers feel belittled and demeaned. He isn’t very helpful and while I was there a few people in line actually waited on Mercedes to finish a customer rather than going to him. Overall, this isn’t the most efficient office, but there are peope like Mercedes that makes it a decent enough office to ship things from.

Tucker Gallagher: I go to this branch often because it is convenient. I am always in shock when I go to another branch to see how postal service should be. It is consistently a painful experience. The staff are rude, slow and ignorant. They epitomize lazy civil servants. There is rarely more that one person on duty. They go out of their way to go as slowly as possible.

Morgan Walker: Very rude, I was cursed out by a customer service rep, was told to go to “UPS” because I had to many boxes. I been calling to speak with a manager, they don’t answer the phone. Terrible experience.

Bill Sewell: I sent a 2 day priority package to my daughter in Washington DC 8 days ago. The package is just sitting now at the Washington DC distribution center, hanging out, having a great time with all the other packages. No working phone number, so no customer service. Never making this mistake again.

United States Postal Service: what do users think?

Catania James: Since moving to D.C. in 2019, I have seen this post office go through a couple staff changes. I think it’s been a positive thing!! Today (Sat, 12/11/21) I have received the best service to date!!! There were 3 women behind the counter and they were professional, courteous, knowledgeable about the services and gave prompt service to everyone in the line. When I first entered the post office, I was a little nervous about joining the line however they had the line moving in an efficient manner. I waited about 5 minutes. they were also clear with the customers about which register took cash only and patiently assisted customers who were sending packages internationally and helped them refill out paperwork that was illegible or filled out incorrectly. I hope this post office keeps this configuration of staff!!

Shalin Nohria: The location is great, the service is awful. I literally heard the employees laughing about how they sent someone away when they could have helped. New management is definitely needed.

Jordan Bickham: I arrived at 9:10 to drop off a prepaid label package but the doors were locked. Me and other people have been waiting and watching as the people inside ignore us even though they are supposed to be open at 9. It’s now 9:30 and still nothing. Absolutely horrible USPS!

Kelly Shurtleff: The USPS is a disgrace!! It should be abolished and charged with racketeering. They charge for services that they do not provide in good faith! They now want more money and want to do less! They tell you to pay more money for Priority services (not guaranteed) and NEVER come close to delivering on time. What the @#$@# are we paying for??? they cannot be held accountable like almost every other business. You cannot sue or take any legal action!!! AND THEY ARE NOT A FEDERAL GOVT. BUSINESS!!!! how can congress allow this to happen with repercussions??? Now you cannot even file a missing mail for at least a week!! What a joke on the American public!!!! write you congressman and demand changes!!!!

Jessica Hsu: I almost didn’t come here because of the reviews, but had no choice. I was here at 1:36pm on Thursday. Clerk 12 was helpful and kind. My two other packages with pre-paid labels were scanned promptly. I had a positive experience at this location.

elijah: I didn’t get her name but the young lady working around 11am on June 17th (she was working the register to the left as you face the registers) was super helpful! I was shipping a package and she had me out in under 5 minutes. I’m in a wheelchair and she informed me that they finally fixed the handicap button for the door so I just had to hit it to get out. I don’t know about all these negative reviews but I firmly believe just be nice to folks and you’ll get the same back. So sorry I didn’t catch your name but thanks for making my experience great!

Oancea Marcela: 9:41am supposed to be already open and working, it’s about 15 people waiting for them to open the door, I can’t believe this can actually happen on a regular day looks like people here work by their own working schedule. Worst experience ever.

United States Postal Service: what do users think?

Victoria Bunk: Would not recommend going here. I had a non machinable letter, they tried to charge me again even though the stamp I already paid for said “non machinable”. Would not trust letters dropped off here.

Kathryn Gilliland: ZERO. This used to be my favorite post office but I just received the RUDEST treatment I’ve ever gotten at any post office ever in my life. I’m trying to mail 30 holiday cards in a standard envelope size that are a tad poofy. At first they were rejected because of their width and the woman stated that they were packages and would cost 5 dollars to ship A PIECE. I indicated that it was cardboard and I could flatten it if the air to fit the standard letter width (a device that measures the width that if you can fit it through, it’s a letter.) Once I flattened it and fit it through the slot easily, she still refused to accept them and would not explain to me why. I was patiently and politely asking her, if it fits through the slot, and it’s light, what makes it a package? She would not answer. She offered no other options or help. She was hostile from beginning to end. I understand how difficult people can be as I’m a waitress, but I wasn’t being rude and needed help. Then she said, “I said what I said,” and stormed off to the back like a child. The supervisor was not there for me to speak to at 3:30. No one helped me after she disappeared. There was a long line behind me and the only other person working there was completely busy. What a disappointment. I’ll be going to another post office forever. UPDATE: I put all my cards in a mailbox and they were all delivered. Clearly my cards were standard size.

Diana Chaves: Best customer service! They are very kind and knowledgeable, they won’t rush you and will help you in every step of the way for whatever you need to do

Phillip P.: Unkempt and understaff. Very long lines taking an average of 5 minutes per customer.

Vishal Sinha: I know USPS and the like "government services" are often associated with bad customer service, long wait times, and overall sub par shopping experience. But not all locations nor all employees would fall in that category. I have been to this location of USPS a few times now and on all these occasions my experience has been very middle of the road. I wont say the service was top notch with a feeling of being taken care of; nor was it bad where I came away with negative feelings regarding that location.Maybe, that is a "win" for USPS :) I had stopped by to mail a letter bound for an international destination. The person helping me advised on all the various charges depending on the delivery time frame - from overnight to 10+ business days. She also gave me all the paperwork that I had to fill out in order for me to mail the letter over. She even let me cut back in line once I was ready. Overall, a decent experience at this USPS!

tia hinds: I have had my fair share of experiences with the post office but every time I come into this location they are always friendly and helpful. Today Myra went above and beyond to help me locate a package that I needed to stop transit on. I cannot remember the other nice lady who has worked there for years name but she was also so kind and helpful. I really appreciate the staff here.

United States Postal Service: what do users think?

Gabriel Nahmias: Clarence was really great! Helped me make sure I packed things well and used the right package for the use case. Sweet guy and an easy experience.

Tom Limmer: They should take down the Self-Service 24/7 sign if they lock all the doors after normal business hours. Waste of a trip here.

Karen Fowlkes: My experience was outstanding! The Woman (hair in long beautiful braids) who assisted me and others this early June 25th morning, was courteous, polite, thorough and very attentive to each individual... It was as if each customer was her PRIORITY! When it came to my turn, it was NO different, She made Me feel special, and that is what GREAT customer service is ALL ABOUT... The Customer! I will definitely do business here again! Thanks for making my D.C. morning AMAZING!!!!!

Caroline-m Holo: Honestly, everyone in this office is so rude and unhelpful, even when you are polite and just expect the same basic politeness in return. Not even talking about assistance cause this is non-existent. If you do need help, do yourself a favor, and just choose another post office.

United States Postal Service: what do users think?

Sean Thomas Augustine Ferro: I can’t speak for the whole facility, though was riding my bike past this location and as I passed a postal worker was heading to his car parked on the street. He smiled and wished me a great day. I exchanged a kind word in return and in that moment felt instantly uplifted. Sometimes little interactions like that can really turn around an otherwise challenging day. Feeling grateful for this local USPS branch

David david: I would like to say to all the employees of post office in general to look where they leaving the mail if is in the correct address. They left my mail in the next door or next 2 doors. Is like really? Why do they hire people that won’t pay attention to what they doing. I had my package delivered and wasn’t there at the address they might left it in the wrong address and I never get the package and all my mail aren’t delivered to my address. Can you please check the address before leaving the mail or how to fix this issue because is really annoying I’d like that issue to be fixed PLEASE!!!

Crystal Brown: Our regular mail carrier is great and the person at the window is usually nice. But God forbid if you call and speak to those in the office. Rude, rude and ruder. No manners or customer service etiquette at all.

Andrea Rodney: I have been having problems with this post office for years now my God I have never seen such a unprofessional dirty place before treat there customer as if we are there asking them to do something other than there job that they went and applied for, this behavior is unacceptable. went there to pick my packages up after my tracking information shows that they has been delivered there, gave them the numbers she went in the back just has she walked away I decide I was going to check my post office box where she and the supervisor was standing talking. she said I to him I found her mail then she asked him what was the problem, as she walk back out and tell me there was no mail and that she cannot find my mail with the tracking number, that I should call ups for them to give me there tracking number so that she can look it up

Maseh Berri: The post office attendance (the bulky elder guy) is the slowest officer I ever met, he uses upto 20 min per client, and is not flexible at all. Please if u want a quick service DO NOT COME HERE. But if u have the hold day, then is the place for u.

Katorra Christina: Adding to the 1 star ratings. I’ve never had any problems before receiving packages until recently and it’s unrelated to COVID. I believe there is either a theft problem or supreme inefficiency, both have caused me a loss of time and money. If you call don’t expect any help. Someone actually hung up on me while I was mid sentence explaining my package was never delivered even though the person said they did on two separate occasions.

David Askew: Have not received mail on the 4000 block of Kansas Ave NW in 3 days. I was notified that the package I was expecting was just delivered. What a crock of_____! The reason I know for certain that it was not delivered was the fact that I was sitging at the front door, no mail person came even close to the building. What that person probably did was stand at the mail truck and scan it as delivered. A bull____ way to run a mail route.

Preston Bays: Gave two stars because the post office employee was nice and polite. Website says this location does passports, but that is false. Brought our infant and was a complete waste of time. FYI the 900 Brentwood Road NE Post Office does, and also allows walk-ins.

United States Postal Service: what do users think?

Rose Lang-Maso: Was openly disrespected and ridiculed by Walter, a “customer service” worker, who is seemingly described below by numerous posters. Completely unacceptable treatment.

Jess: Do you wanna be belittled by the man behind the counter for not knowing what you should use and asking a question? Come to this location! This happens to me without fail every time he is working. Older black guy with glasses, I am talking about you!

Patrick Cage: Courteous efficient generous and helpful staff. Clearly trying hard, either because or in spite of negative reviews. I was nervous about the experience because of the rating beforehand. Was better than most post office experiences even tbh

Charlie Leu: Hit or miss. Some of the clerks are professional and very helpful, some are just angry waiting to happen. PSA to the employees in this location: Try to lower your voice in the back room if you’re going to talk trash about your customers because the walls are very thin.

United States Postal Service: what do users think?

Holly Hieu Vo: Don’t think our reviews will ever impact these workers, and realistically we will have to come here again, but here comes 1 more negative review confirming the rudeness, inefficiency and unhelpfulness of the staff here. They have too much power without actual customer facing skills. Did they answer “Yes I love helping others?” during the interviews. I think so. But reality? Well, read the reviews. I feel like these people aren’t grateful to have a job that is not fast paced (compared to a restaurant), sedentary (compared to delivery folks), and inside a cool, dry, safe place (compared to construction workers). They don’t have pride in themselves and what they do, and thus do a bad job. My uncle has been a USPS delivery man for over 30 years (his salary is probably triple theirs) but he loves it, he brings dog treats with him, and helps however he can. Thanks Google for creating a space for me, and you, to express our frustration. But is it our fault to want better customer service and all feel happier from small things in our daily life? I think we deserve it.

Maham Khan: Worst workers I’ve ever seen. The two women at the counter were having a LOUD conversation about Beyoncé and coachella and completely ignored me (the customer). They were not interested in any capacity to help me ship my things out. I was trying to talk and they were simply just ignoring me. For reference I went on 06/30 and it was 4:30pm.

Daren Miller: Visited this location on 1/8/22 at 9AM. I wish there was a 0 star option for this location. Unfortunately my experience was beyond disappointing and disheartening. The service was horrible and it would be best for this location to be closed. The employees seem ungrateful for their customers. A perfect example why I avoid the post office. Please make this a better place of service. Sadly, disappointed customer. 🙁

Kristy Nguyen: Today I was the subject of discrimination at this location. I had parked far and when I got to the door, I realized my mask wasn’t on me and it was about to pour down raining so I went ahead in. The sign on the door said masks were recommended. I’m vaccinated so I thought I was okay. When I got to the counter, the man rudely and aggressively said to me “how can I help you but where is your mask”. I said the sign says recommended and that I’m vaccinated. He said the requirements are different than what the sign says. The other post office worker next to him laughs. I went back to my car in the rain and when I went back, the man in front of me didn’t have a mask but the same man said nothing. When I pointed this out to him why he didn’t ask this man in front of me about a mask but he had asked me, he started arguing with me and the girl next to him did the same. It’s not about a mask, it’s about you talk and treat people. The man in front of me in line was Latin, I am Asian. I feel like I was targeted for this, especially with all that is going on in the world. Simply put, I will never step foot in here again.

Aphrodite Kishi: Incredibly rude, unreliable woman (Clerk No. 5) at the desk every day. Go to any other USPS in town, and you will not find such a mean person.

Jeff Ras: A sad sullen place - the long-time male post officer is really good but the lady that is there - 2/19/21 - she was there today - in her 30s - leaves a lot to be desired on demeanor with customers. Really dislike going here but we do not have options. Its a scary small place to go during covid too. I do feel sympathy for the workers however. Hardly a 21 century facility.

Paulina Koczyk: Extremely rude customer service, always giving rude comments in front of customers, always ready to argue. Very unprofessional, I wish there is another facility close by I can go to

Isaac Oguji: Hell yeah! These guys are really good. I got the best mailing service ever. Posted an item over 5kg in Washington and it delivered in Georgia the next day with expedited/priority mailing. Very customer friendly and efficient company. They deserve 5-star rating!

jason paiement: USPS lost my Guaranteed Express next day delivery. Very unfriendly tracking system, would not use again.

United States Postal Service: what do users think?

Devin James: Unfortunately, all the negative reviews are accurate. This location has incredibly rude and unprofessional employees. My experience here was by far the worst out of any USPS office I’ve gone to before. Recommend going elsewhere if possible.

Benjamin Park: The front staff got mad I approached the counter when no one was in line. Also rolled her eyes when I politely asked to verify the tracking number on the receipt. American customer service at its best. Her entire face screams how much she hates her job and people

Kate Doran: It’s never a positive experience going here. Today I was yelled at for approaching the counter. The ladies there have consistently been disrespectful and I’m unsure how they are still employed in a customer service role. My advice? Go to any UPS location before coming here.

Ling Chen: It is not helpful if they always scan a package as "delivered" when it is actually not delivered and was only in their warehouse, and the delivery person did not even show up in the building at all. A lot of things can go wrong between the warehouse and the actual on-site delivery. Scanning things as "delivered" when it is absolutely not is really not helpful, and I am not sure if its even legal.

Alexander Rizk: I don’t understand why many reviews seem to have problems with the staff. I lived a block away from this location, and would often ship many items as a reseller. Every single time I needed to ship something the staff were more than helpful and always treated me very well. They were all extremely friendly and would often greet me with a warm welcome. I was honestly shocked by how nice it was to do business with a USPS store.

United States Postal Service: what do users think?

Zenzalei Zee: Does not answer the phone. I got lost trying to find the place for my passport appointment and called to get directions. Because they did not answer to help me, I was 10 minutes late for my appointment. Then they would not help me because they said it takes 15 minutes for each customer. However, when you book your appointment, you do it in half-hour increments. They still had 20 minutes to help me for what they themselves said 15 minutes. Also, they have lost two of my packages. They come so late that our rental office is closed and the carrier cannot get in, so they say they will try to redeliver the packages and they never did. Amazon still has them as attempting to deliver my package on January 7. It is now January 11 and there has been no further update other than "USPS will try again on the next business day." That was yesterday. Meanwhile they are delivering other packages to my building. This post office is HORRIBLE and I miss having the one in Courthouse as my post office. I am going to issue a formal complaint with the USPS and I suggest others do, too. The postmaster here needs to be held accountable for the poor quality of the staff who work at this post office.

Emily Deanne: Not a huge fan of this post office. The lines are always long and the service is always slow. Sometimes the staff can be rude as well. If you can try to avoid going to the counter. I would recommend using the Kiosk or doing click and ship - so you print a label at home and can just put your package in the drop box. I have never had a pleasant experience going up to the desk. One time I had a package to send and the person behind the desk just took my package and tossed it onto another desk without saying a word. It was unclear if that meant it was going to be processed or if they wanted me to take it back. So I took it back and then walked it over to the drop box to put in in there. Otherwise, I was unsure whether it would just sit out on the desk all day!

Ryan Verey: Scheduled a passport appointment here with my 3 month old son. The lady was so rude I was honestly taken back. She said the pic would look bad because my child is white and wearing a white sweater. I said there was nothing in the application about refraining from wearing white to which she replied “it’s common sense”. The other lady helping me was nice and even said that she is always like this and difficult to work with. She was going out of her way to be rude. What’s funny is I told the nicer lady that we came here because this location is usually nicer than the staff on S Glebe (which are another level of rude) and she told me that this lady used to be at that location which I found kind of funny.

Olivia Lanham: Truly a terrible experience every time I go here. Long lines and bad customer service that surely incentives most locals to use other carriers in the area. Todays experience summarizes a typical sort of encounter- There weren’t many customers but there was a line forming at the post-it-yourself machine because apparently the main desk was down. I approached the main desk just to ask for advice and to borrow a singular piece of tape. The woman ignored me, had her personal AirPods in. I then stood back to wait as she took another customer (who was not in line). Everyone at the machine now realized that her desk was, in fact, not out of service. I found another attendant to ask for the piece of tape. She said they didn’t have any (???) but that I could buy some (not a normal roll, that wasn’t even in stock). Same goes for scissors to cut this tape. None sold, and I was told to use a pen. Two other customers were having similar experiences with the attitude of the women working, and the three of us helped each other sharing the supplies found in our purses- pens, scraps of tape, etc. We finally are able to attach our labels loosely to the prepaid packages, knowing that ultimately the lady behind the counter will more pristinely re-tape it all with the tape she apparently doesn’t have. I get it. They can’t give everyone a handout. But an act of kindness, especially when the store is not busy, does go a long way. The three other customers and I agreed that it’s worth it to just pay for better service elsewhere next time.

Kate Winterholler: Is the requirement to work here that you are the rudest, most condescending person ever? Never in my life have I received such horrible service. I am appalled at the way I was treated at this USPS passport agency— from the second I stepped in the door I was spoken down to in an EXTREMELY harsh manner for absolutely no reason whatsoever, and then, the woman conducting my appointment turned me away for a completely false reason (I have since verified to be VIABLE proof of citizenship by 2 different government agencies including the Department of State,) so she turned me away for no reason other than she is a lazy and inconsiderate person who doesn’t want to do their job and gets off on speaking down to people and ruining their day. Also, I asked for a pen while I was waiting to fill out the needed forms, and THEY gave me a blue pen, then proceeded to tell me blue ink is unviable and to re-do the form in black ink. YOU gave me the blue pen to begin with. The fact that our government functions like this is abhorrent. Thank you for the false information and cruelty!

Delena Ganey: Staff has always been very helpful, and the line is never more than ~4 people. I have never had a negative experience and have been here several times!

Kujnn Yaah: Tamika the Supervisor NOT HELPFUL and how long have the same problems with her and this post office now in this new location continues to happen. Tamika have not resolve issues with missing mail that always happen with the Carriers! Carriers loses mail quit often. REPORT THE SORTING MAIL OR CARRIERS WHO DO NOT DELIVER YOUR FIRST CLASS MAIL ALWAYS MISSING ESPECIALLY IF IT IS A GIFT CARD OR CREDIT CARD. THE POSTAL SERVICE IN ARLINGTON COUNTY NEEDS INVESTIGATIONS DUE TO HOW MUSCH MAIL IS ALWAYS TAMPERED WITH.

Leslie Smith: Staff is rude and does not prioritize customers. There was a line of five people and one staff member was standing at the desk organizing paper. After getting to the front of the line, I was told that I could not be helped because my package did not yet have tape on it. I brought my own and it took me two seconds to tape. I had to have it open to show them the return address on my return sheet before placing it in my package. They gave me a hard time about this too. I’m sad that this is going to be my new post office as it is next to my new apartment. I miss the treatment at the UPS store that was next to my old apartment.

Josh Johnson: Staff is rude and slow. They’re busy chatting with each other and playing with their phones while there’s a long line of people. They don’t answer the phone when I tried calling.

United States Postal Service: what do users think?

J.S. Kim: Older male clerk with glasses just now who berated me to “you supposed to do that before, you holding up the process.” I wanted to take a picture of my two package labels before he took them. He was chatting very pleasantly just before with his co-worker about small work things. He was not busy with other things and was standing at the desk. No one else was in line, I was actually the only one in the entire office while I was in there taping up my packages before approaching the desk. I politely said thank you after the transaction and left. Wow. Really unpleasant, unwarranted tone of voice and belittling, just came out of nowhere. Take your two second pics of your stuff beforehand then I guess. Wow.

ChristinaLoel: I wasn’t going to write a review but I’ve experienced too much bad energy here not to say anything. If you can drive to the next USPS please do, some of the staff, no matter what time are always rude like we chose their profession. There’s legit only one old gentlemen with a pinky fingernail that is always nice no matter what, can’t say the same for the others. The women always have attitudes so I hope they either retire or get fired for complaints. That is all!

Channyn Williams: One had no idea what boxes they even had in stock when I asked another older clerk for help, her response was “They’re over there. You didn’t see them? They’re literally right there” then proceeded to walk away as if I didn’t just waste 10 minutes searching for a box they didn’t even have after being told that they did. Complete waste of time. If you can use another location, you may want to do so.

Briana Glover: Very unwelcoming and disrespectful and provided 0 customer service. A female clerk about 45+ stood talking to a customer for way longer than the transaction needed to complete. The customer had 1 package it was 650pm est I was in line with 2 other customers and the woman very much nasty stated she could not perform her duties of processing the correspondence because it was 7pm and she was ready to leave. These are the types of people who get hired to service guests such as myself. Please do better and put her on an earlier shift.

Oscar Nestell: Fast and friendly as always. Came here at 620pm ET 10days before Xmas and not a Grinch -nor line- in sight. Fantastic!

Leah: Open every day of the week! The times I’ve been in, there’s not usually a long line like some other post offices. Parking can be tricky. There are some meters around the corner.

Jane L: This is my go-to post office b/c of its location and late hours. Service is quick here. The only reason I go to the Union Station branch is b/c they open earlier, otherwise I would go to this location every time. This branch is connected to the Postal Museum which is cool. If you need specific stamps, the museum has a stamp store!

Nizar Qabaha: Great office and great staff, it can get busy but generally speaking there are no long lines and the staff are always available to help.

Mayo: Failed to deliver my package to the destination (although they marked it as "delivered", then eventually admitted that they lost the package and told me that there is nothing they could do about it. They have no idea where they placed it and were not willing to provide the senders info. so that I could get an idea of who sent it.

Matko: False statement about delivery attempt. My home is high rise building with 24-hour front desk but carrier made remark saying that delivery attempt was made and I have to pickup item myself. Did not make clear location where and no explanation. why. What is going on with USPS?

Oluwatobi Busari: Easy interaction for passport return shipping label. Embassy specific information was readily available.

daniel scott: The rudest a__holes. Surprised to have this crew in upper NW DC. I will stay with the Alexandria VA post offices

United States Postal Service: what do users think?

Sue Morgan: The lady behind the counter only took cash for postage. She explained there was a national electronic system failure. That was quite concerning to hear. I found zero evidence to support her claim so far in the news. A horrifying experience on my first visit to the local post office.

Teddy: The return address is not required on postal mail. However, lack of a return address prevents the postal service from being able to return the item if it proves undeliverable; such as from damage, postage due, or invalid destination. Such mail may otherwise become dead letter mail. This lady here stood there yelling at me arguing to use a return adresss..

Marjorie Greenberg: This office closed 1:30 to 2:30 weekdays for a lunch break. What’s even worse is that it doesn’t open at 230. There’s a line here at 235 and no life here.

Cody Smith: The lady working the counter is extremely rude. They also keep no forms for opening a PO Box and expect you to go to the library to print forms that are required for a federal service. Are you kidding me?

Kimberly Diane: I’m not sure why everyone complains about the USPS, especially this location. Yes, hours are a little tighter than the ones I’m used to and it smells a little funny in the lobby. However, when I drop off my items to be mailed, they scan them right away to start tracking, which is great for my small business in showing my customers that I ship in less than 12 hours from time of order!

Laura Evans: I put my letters in the box in the lobby at 2:08 pm. The door to the lobby was locked. Another lady had been waiting for 25 minutes for the door to open. She said she did not hear anyone taking mail out of the box at the 2:00 pm scheduled pick up time from inside the PO while she was waiting there. We all waited another 10 minutes to see if anyone would open door. I left Several minutes later we saw the lady on the street. She waited more than half hour for employees to finish break. No one came. She was unable to mail her package. Sign on door said computer was broken and to use whyte st PO. Do not use this PO. It’s closed way too often and seems unreliable

Troy Seals: Normally this is a convenient location to do postal business, but they were closed today when I attempted to visit (2 days before X-mas 2019). The reason the sign gave was computer problems. It was a big inconvenience for me and others that came to get their last minute cards/gifts in the mail. I still think someone from the office should have been available near the entrance to answer questions. They had the place completely closed like it was a Sunday.

Salonee Mehta: Please note : This branch is closed from 1:30pm to 2:30pm for lunch

Ærik Carlton: I have lived in 7 different states and had over 30 different addresses, and Alexandria, Virginia has the worst postal service I have every experienced. You cannot even complain, because they never answer the phone. I have tried on numerous occasions to get my address off of their junk mail list, but they NEVER answer the phone. What a joke!

United States Postal Service: what do users think?

Chaz Polo: AVOID THIS PLACE IF POSSIBLE. If I could give zero stars, I would. The "workers" here are mean, angry, unhelpful. The workers act as though they are not there to help people - they bark at anyone who has the slightest question and are unhelpful, caustic, rude. I have a PO Box here and I have seen so many terrible interactions...use another USPS if you can, this one has the worst workers I have seen in any city.

Life As Bre: I stood in line for over 10 minutes waiting on just a stamp and envelop. There was three people working. I was told only one person could accept my payment method . The person who could accept my payment was working on another task. There’s no way I should’ve waited that long. There could have been another way to solve this so that someone isn’t standing that long just waiting. There was no interest in even helping me get what I needed. No urge whatsoever. I eventually just walked out. Really bad for business.

Frode: Booked an appointment for passport photos online days in advance. Was told when I got there that the “agent” was at their Brentwood location half an hour away by Metro and that I had to go there instead. Why did they even let me book the appointment if the guy was never going to be there? Disgusting waste of people’s time UPDATE: Went to their Brentwood branch. Surprise, surprise, their camera wasn’t working so they told me to go to UPS instead. Absolutely embarrassing. This is a service you’re supposed to be providing, not the freaking lottery. I’ll be taking my business elsewhere in the future, but please for the sake of others who will undoubtedly be in my position going forward, get your act together USPS!

Sofia Signoris: Ms. Reid is the rudest employee I have encountered so far. Completely unhelpful, even after my husband asked for her help directly to set an appointment because HE IS BLIND. Nobody else was at the office and she refused to help, when my husband complained, she proceeded to call him "ignorant" said "I just work here I am not here to deal with you or listen to you", "shut up" and basically kicked him out. Pathetic costumer service if you ask me.

Tebriz Nebiyev: Terrible customer service . They cancelled the passport appointment withiut letting us know .

Dennis Sutch: Good location for those working in and around the Federal Triangle area. There are usually very long lines to get service. The overworked employees are rushed, which leads to average to lie customer service. I primarily use this location to drop off envelopes and packages for delivery, and to purchase postage from the automated machine. Unfortunately there is only one such machine, so there can be a wait. This building has some interesting architectural details and murals.

United States Postal Service: what do users think?

Diane Gremillion: This location is perfectly adequate for basic postage issues, and I saw many people coming in for passport pictures. They very adamantly would not allow hand-stamping envelopes for our wedding invitations. We ended up driving to Roselyn where they were more than happy to accommodate hand stamping

Jane L: I stopped by to drop off a prepaid package. The post office had three service reps and a manager on a Saturday! The manager was available to answer any questions people waiting in line might have which was super helpful. The line went pretty quickly and everyone was very friendly. My package arrived at its destination on time.

Sharry Dhanoya: I’m not sure why the reviews are so bad for this USPS location. Yes, the lines are long, but that’s expected bc the USPS shipping rates are less than UPS and FedEx. I’ve used this post office location multiple times and have received good customer service. Mr. Anthony is a gem— very pleasant to deal with, he apologizes for the long lines and thanks you for your patience. My packages were delivered in a timely manner without issue. I’ll be returning here again.

Becca j: I never received my 7 packages and no one was able to help me. I was given a number for supervisor, called it multiple times and it does not work.

Cam Napier: Horrible USPS location. Was one of two customers and waited 14 minutes while the staff shouted at each other in the back. When they finally got to me, the cashier ripped the tape off my package (also ripping my packing label) another employee told me to put on my package. She then told me to leave since I now had nothing to ship. Never been treated this poorly by any employee at any USPS ever.

Melissa Curling: There is man at this location that was incredibly rude to me and several other women in line. Not one of the employees was wearing a mask in the main mail room that helps customers. I took a few packages out to the PO Box area to package them and get out of the way of all the other people, considering the requirements to social distance, and the man came out without a mask on to yell at me for stealing the envelopes. He then proceeded to tell his co-workers how dumb I was. It was a terrible experience and I will NEVER go back to this location.

Sherise: Absolutely horrible even though there is a line customers can freely go up to the counter whenever they please. I stood in line waiting while both female cashiers flirted with a male customer That was able to walk freely back and forth to the counter while both cashiers took their time helping him. Just horrible. Will rather drive out to MD or VA where I know I’ll get better service. 6/24/2020

Christopher Albert: Carrier did not deliver a signature required EMS package but marked it as delivered. USPS staff agreed mistake had been made, promised to investigate and call me back and never did. I went down the location and spoke to them twice about it. Sorry, but I would never ship anything important via USPS to or from the DC area as I have had multiple issues like this over the past few years, perhaps USPS are more competent in other parts of the country?

Grant G.: I got a call, after their hours, from someone here. The phone stopped ringing as soon as I picked it up, I immediately went to google to check the number (which I do for all numbers I don’t recognize) and called them back within a minute of missing their call. No one answered, no one left a message. I left my own message, with my name and number explaining the situation. I’m so sick of USPS being so unprofessional.

Jose Quinones: Never opens on time

mageguy86: No one seems to work there or at least pick up the phone/call back during the little hours that they are open.

United States Postal Service: what do users think?

Critical Chris: If you have a PO box there, they are slow to sort your mail into it, even if you have tracking numbers to show a backstory of the movement of that mail piece through the system, and its arrival at that post office. At this location, “Ready for pickup” tracking status actually means it —might— be ready for you to pick it up 3 to 4 postal working days later. That means Mondays to Fridays, not including weekend days nor holidays. There’s good transit access, a nearby metrorail station, and bus stops, and one bike rack out front, which is apparently not much close by bike parking relative to its usage. The availability of street parking of a car in the vicinity is quite mediocre, unless you want to pay $13 to park in the pay lot behind the place.

John Bryan: Do not go to this post office except for stamps. The postal clerks are consistently rude and openly hostile. (I have met one clerk who was courteous.) The main problem is that they provide incorrect information. This morning, I was the sole customer in an empty post office at 10:15 a.m. Staff ignored me for several minutes. I specifically asked to mail two packages that can be tracked without a signature requirement. I had several questions on what type of mail was required. I assumed certified and asked the postal clerk to confirm. The clerk did not provide the correct information when I asked. I had to press for it. And my receipt was missing one of the tracking numbers. It is now a complete mess and I am working on getting the package back simply to identify the tracking number.

Sly Winx: ZERO stars. The staff including the manager is rude, unhelpful, disrespectful and discriminating (origin/accent, disabilities). I went there to send a small package, did not know which form to fill, did not have my glasses and could not read well. I filled the form 5 times because Miss Hines could not accept my handwriting and information provided. Also, I could not understand her English, and I could not hear her well as she was behind the glass and wearing the mask. Additionally she wanted to axe me and I did not know why. I got wound up and she laughed at me .

Kate Salimi: Avoid this post office at all costs, unless you wish to be treated with the worst customer service.

T VD: Worst customer service !! One woman in particular seriously hates her job / life because after she was completely mean to me, she did the same thing to the person behind me. We then all agreed in line that this woman was the meanest most miserable person. Why do they always work at the post office?!

Michel Russo: I live in the area and repeatedly have bad experiences here. A certain employee will go out of their way to make your mailing difficult. The other employees aren’t as bad, but it’s not worth the gamble. Avoid this place if you have to use this location for anything other than a drop off or kiosk mailing.

Andres Velasco: Rude employees, they give you sass the entire time and are completely useless. Pay the difference and go across to UPS. No wonder USPS is going out of business….

Ella S.: I have never posted a review for anything before but due to very poor customer service received at this location I wanted to leave this comment. The employees at this location are very rude, unhelpful and do not care of individuals standing in line, even if they are elderly individuals. Even by any USPS standards the service was absolutely terrible. Save yourself some bad experiences and take your packages to a different location.

United States Postal Service: what do users think?

Hannah: Rudest staff I’ve ever encountered. What should’ve taken me five minutes took an hour. No masks were worn by staff, and they chatted amongst themselves and took personal calls while people were waiting in line.

Norma Canedo: I just left around 3pm today and was shocked with how rude one of the female workers was with me. I stood in line and she completely ignored me barely looked at me and just went about her business. The young man that works there is always friendly, so I don’t have anything to say about him. But I just felt so unwelcome by the woman. She then later called me over after not once acknowledging my presence and I told her she was very rude. She explained she was on her lunch break, so I guess common decency doesn’t matter on your lunch break? Thankfully I found another postal office nearby. I will never go to this one again! It’s not the first time she has been unprofessional. If you don’t like your job, leave it.

Nils Hünerfürst: At first it was like: duuh. What is here hoing on but then there was a nice and helpful employee.

Christian Walton: This has to be the worst service I have ever received. Staff makes everything overly complicated and almost refuse to help. I regret every time I have to ship something out of this location

Andromeda Star: Clerks were on their phones while my colleague had to wait a couple of minutes. Finally she looked up and said you can come up to the desk like she was doing her a favor. Very unprofessional and does NOT reflect well on the postal service. I would give 0 stars if possible.

Nicole Chase: The ladies that work at this post office have the worst customer service I have ever experienced! Two of them specifically. They always have bad attitudes and I heard two of the ladies making a joke about a customer’s appearance, in which the remaining customers waited another 5-10 minutes for them to stop talking before being helped. They act like they hate their job which is very obvious. But their attitudes are a reflection of themselves not the post office. They clearly do not make an effort to do better in life which is why their character reflects how lazy they are.

United States Postal Service: what do users think?

Jean Taylor: I received the most rudest customer service from Clerk 15, in addition to hearing her being rude to two other customers before me. Her tone with me was just as nasty for asking a question about the amount of insurance I requested. She definitely delivers the rudeness but failed to inform me of tracking number by circling on my receipt as is customary of postal clerks. Apparently Clerk 15’s priority is to deliver the nastiest and rudest customer service ever. Customers should not be bullied or made to feel intimidated by this person whose nasty attitude is definitely not an asset to the postal service. Please do better by placing people friendly clerks on the front line. Customers deserve to be treated with respect.

acacia bobik: Clerk #15 is rude and unhelpful. She was spitting sunflower seeds at the desk and making snide comments. Would not recommend wasting your time at this location. She did not offer explanation or answer questions regarding different prices for mailing a large envelope. She was more interesting in talking inappropriately about her co-workers with another co-worker

Y. WW: I had the worst experience at this postal service. I mailed a pair of Kay Jewelers earrings to my friend as wedding gift from this USPS location about 10 days ago. The package was severely damaged and the earrings were lost at delivery. Only my card was left in the broken package. I regretted I used First Class instead of Priority; otherwise, I could file an insurance claim. But now my earrings worth over $50 were just gone.

Jean Philibert: I went to the Post Office at 1215 31st Street today. What a horrible experience. The clerk was so rude! I am in shock that she is able to treat peopleso rudely and keep her job.

i b: I asked to get a letter hand-cancelled and the lady managing the counter practically yelled at me to put it into the bin where all the letters are automatically cancelled. I came just two days ago and they hand-cancelled my letter so I know they have the capability to. Kinda ridiculous. Beautiful interior and exterior physically of the building, but I wouldn’t come back if I didn’t need to. Much prefer using the one in Union Station or Watergate.

Jovan Bethel: The lady named Kara who works here is very rude. Literally all I wanted to do was mail off my phone back to T-Mobile and was in turn treated by with the utmost disrespect; making me seem as if I did not know how to mail a package! Telling me things that I already know about packaging while continuing to scorn me for what I "better do next time I come into their store or else"! And the young light-skinned lady who works there was also very rude; trying to belittle my intellect. All of this over me just dropping off some mail. NEVER AGAIN will I go there!!

R D: Three of our packages were missing in the last week. A supervisor "Smith" contacted me and she stated "we located your packed in OH.. you have to contact the USPS in OH and conduct your own investigation.". Keep in mind this is for a package USPS lost. The manager Tobley was absolutely no help and decided not to assist in this manner. Now I understand the "DEFUND THE USPS" chants lately. This location is extremely unprofessional. please read the reviews.

United States Postal Service: what do users think?

Chaturbhuj bhojwani: Great customer service Post office clerk was very nice. Lots of parking available outside this location is not very busy around 2:30 PM.

wind day: Pleasant and fast service. I was worried coming in to send a package since the ratings here are so bad, but the USPS lady/clerk greeted me nicely, was very pleasant and helpful. I was in and out in 5 mins. Place only had 2 other customers on Friday afternoon.

Nancy Cosner: I read the reviews before I mustered enough courage to stop in. I was concerned. To a very pleasant surprise, the young lady working there could not gave been more helpful. Quick visit in and out in less than 10 min.

Jill Borowski: I had a simple question about where to place a prepaid package and was rudely yelled at then ignored by an older woman working there. All I needed was a yes or no, but she couldn’t be bothered. Luckily another lady working there answered my question and was actually helpful. So a big thank you to that kind woman and I can only hope the first woman I dealt with was having a bad day and decided to externalize it.

Trevor Diaz: I’ve used this post office for the better part of 3 years. Disorganized with piles of stamps, paperwork, and cash behind the desk. Impossible to see prices until you’re standing at the bullet proof glass and despite the five service stations it seems like they’re staffed by one person every day of the week - it’s the same lady and man oh man does she do her best against her he never ending onslaught of customer dissatisfaction. If USPS gets around to reading these reviews, please heavily consider hiring some extra hands for the front of house.

Vinny Kennedy: Woman working this post office takes lunch whenever she wants and refuses to service other customers who come there during the posted working hours so she can have her personal time. Unreal. Would give 0 stars if possible.

Gwenaëlle Dufour: Umm... they close and work whenever they want. You can come anytime during the day, and you never know if they are open. Lunch break, time break, whichever break. They need more employees or better management. Not reliable. Go to the others USPS nearby.

F Wmson: This post office is understaffed resulting in a very long line of cutomers. With that said, the employees are great. They take the long line in stride and treat each customer with respect. They are cordial, very helpful with getting you serviced and believe it or not very proficient at their jobs.

Concerned Citizen: I happened to come during “lunch hour” at 3PM which left me waiting in a line of about 20 people. They don’t leave anything out at all so there’s no way to prepare while in line even if you’re waiting for the employees to slowly return from their lunch break. I had very important time sensitive documents to send so I had to come inside despite feeling concerned about COVID safety. I finally got to the front of the line and the lady behind the counter made me go to the back to get my box then wait again. They don’t create labels for you- it’s basically all DIY. When I asked for scissors to cut the tape (provided behind glass window) I was told to use a pen instead. I guess they have issues with theft here. So I finally get everything, and then the one worker who was just sitting there just stares at me. Eventually, I get to the other slightly more helpful lady who rang me up. I definitely tracked that package more than any before given its importance and leaving feeling like I’d experienced one of the most unprofessional and uncleanly post offices ever. New York subway stations might be cleaner than this place.

Hner Zebari: Place doesn’t exist

Justin Edwards: Needs Better Signage...After walking around the block 1.5 times looking for an entrance, I finally read a comment that said enter through the Renaissance Hotel. I found NO signs indicating where to enter, and once I got in the hotel and went down two escalators, I had to return to the hotel lobby desk to ask where to go. After speaking with the rude receptionist who told me there is a sign on the next floor down the escalator, I proceeded to locate it. I landed on the next floor looked around, and saw no sign. That is, until I walked about 30 feet and saw an obscure handmade sign about 75 yards down a hallway (literally). See photos, hope they help you find it more quickly than I did.

Sallie Dehler: This post office no longer exists. Google, please remove it from maps, very frustrating.

Xevian: Horrible. It’s closed so long ago and I don’t know why it still shows up on google

Molly Purcell: This post office is no longer there and is now an Equinox. I have asked Google to remove this location.
