United States Postal Service: what do users think?

Catania James: Since moving to D.C. in 2019, I have seen this post office go through a couple staff changes. I think it’s been a positive thing!! Today (Sat, 12/11/21) I have received the best service to date!!! There were 3 women behind the counter and they were professional, courteous, knowledgeable about the services and gave prompt service to everyone in the line. When I first entered the post office, I was a little nervous about joining the line however they had the line moving in an efficient manner. I waited about 5 minutes. they were also clear with the customers about which register took cash only and patiently assisted customers who were sending packages internationally and helped them refill out paperwork that was illegible or filled out incorrectly. I hope this post office keeps this configuration of staff!!

James Arrington: Most of the time it's a good experience. This time not so much. The postal worker kept making the same mistake even after I repeatedly told him what was wrong.(4 times to be exact).Almost like it matter Even after I told him I was on a short break from work. Finally someone else stepped in and corrected the problem. It is my belief that he thought I was wrong and there was no way he was

Shalin Nohria: The location is great, the service is awful. I literally heard the employees laughing about how they sent someone away when they could have helped. New management is definitely needed.

Jordan Bickham: I arrived at 9:10 to drop off a prepaid label package but the doors were locked. Me and other people have been waiting and watching as the people inside ignore us even though they are supposed to be open at 9. It’s now 9:30 and still nothing. Absolutely horrible USPS!

Kyle Barrett: This has got to be one of the worst post offices. They are incredibly rude and unhelpful. Usually they'll refuse to help and direct you to the self-service kiosk. Today there was no one at the window and a line at the kiosk. Good luck calling and getting through to someone.

Kelly Shurtleff: The USPS is a disgrace!! It should be abolished and charged with racketeering. They charge for services that they do not provide in good faith! They now want more money and want to do less! They tell you to pay more money for Priority services (not guaranteed) and NEVER come close to delivering on time. What the @#$@# are we paying for??? they cannot be held accountable like almost every other business. You cannot sue or take any legal action!!! AND THEY ARE NOT A FEDERAL GOVT. BUSINESS!!!! how can congress allow this to happen with repercussions??? Now you cannot even file a missing mail for at least a week!! What a joke on the American public!!!! write you congressman and demand changes!!!!

Jessica Hsu: I almost didn’t come here because of the reviews, but had no choice. I was here at 1:36pm on Thursday. Clerk 12 was helpful and kind. My two other packages with pre-paid labels were scanned promptly. I had a positive experience at this location.

elijah: I didn’t get her name but the young lady working around 11am on June 17th (she was working the register to the left as you face the registers) was super helpful! I was shipping a package and she had me out in under 5 minutes. I’m in a wheelchair and she informed me that they finally fixed the handicap button for the door so I just had to hit it to get out. I don’t know about all these negative reviews but I firmly believe just be nice to folks and you’ll get the same back. So sorry I didn’t catch your name but thanks for making my experience great!

Oancea Marcela: 9:41am supposed to be already open and working, it’s about 15 people waiting for them to open the door, I can’t believe this can actually happen on a regular day looks like people here work by their own working schedule. Worst experience ever.

Lorena Barito Rayran: I received there the worse customer service in my life. Two of the staff team are very rude and disrespectful. I have to go two times per week and I have to ask if we have mails because we work in a non-profit and we received a lot of corresponde and they don’t do it their work... they always told us that “if you don’t see a yellow paper in the box is because you don’t have more mails” but it’s a liar because more than one time we don't have anything in the box (and we don't have the yellow paper) and we ask inside and results that we have a box with a lot of correspondence! So it's not ok be rude with the customers and I only want patient and a good customer service because trust me... I am doing my work too! I hope, really hope that someone, some boss read this review and understand my situation.

United States Postal Service: what do users think?

Amanda Benton: This post office has the best people and is so efficient. Especially the passport manager. I've tried to use other locations like Georgetown and they are not as good.

Victoria Bunk: Would not recommend going here. I had a non machinable letter, they tried to charge me again even though the stamp I already paid for said “non machinable”. Would not trust letters dropped off here.

Kathryn Gilliland: ZERO. This used to be my favorite post office but I just received the RUDEST treatment I’ve ever gotten at any post office ever in my life. I’m trying to mail 30 holiday cards in a standard envelope size that are a tad poofy. At first they were rejected because of their width and the woman stated that they were packages and would cost 5 dollars to ship A PIECE. I indicated that it was cardboard and I could flatten it if the air to fit the standard letter width (a device that measures the width that if you can fit it through, it’s a letter.) Once I flattened it and fit it through the slot easily, she still refused to accept them and would not explain to me why. I was patiently and politely asking her, if it fits through the slot, and it’s light, what makes it a package? She would not answer. She offered no other options or help. She was hostile from beginning to end. I understand how difficult people can be as I’m a waitress, but I wasn’t being rude and needed help. Then she said, “I said what I said,” and stormed off to the back like a child. The supervisor was not there for me to speak to at 3:30. No one helped me after she disappeared. There was a long line behind me and the only other person working there was completely busy. What a disappointment. I’ll be going to another post office forever. UPDATE: I put all my cards in a mailbox and they were all delivered. Clearly my cards were standard size.

Diana Chaves: Best customer service! They are very kind and knowledgeable, they won’t rush you and will help you in every step of the way for whatever you need to do

Scott Hackenburg: This place is kinda hard to find on maps. the post office is located within an indoor mall of sorts. You will have to take an elevator down to the "CL" level and you will see the post office. from the street this is not seen. I walked by the "mall" like three times until I figured out I needed to go in. Once there the employees are super helpful. if you need a self addressed envelope for any embassy, they have those no problems! I just walked in and didn't have to wait in any lines and got immediate assistance. No too bad for a major city post office, plan on being in and out in quickly. Hope this helps!

Shely McGuire: My goal was to ask USPS a question over the phone regarding inaccurate mail delivery. I tried 2 different phone numbers listed online. On both numbers, I received the same recorded message. After pressing 0 and requesting to speak to an Agent, the automated voice kept repeating the same phrase. My call was never transferred to an Agent. Why doesn't the call menu have an option number to speak to an agent? The USPS should install this feature, enabling their automated system to be more customer service oriented.

Micheline Frias: The best post office experience I've had! All the staff in this location are patient, friendly, knowledge and swift. I have rarely ever had to wait to get attended. Keep up the great work :-).

Phillip P.: Unkempt and understaff. Very long lines taking an average of 5 minutes per customer.

Vishal Sinha: I know USPS and the like "government services" are often associated with bad customer service, long wait times, and overall sub par shopping experience. But not all locations nor all employees would fall in that category. I have been to this location of USPS a few times now and on all these occasions my experience has been very middle of the road. I wont say the service was top notch with a feeling of being taken care of; nor was it bad where I came away with negative feelings regarding that location.Maybe, that is a "win" for USPS :) I had stopped by to mail a letter bound for an international destination. The person helping me advised on all the various charges depending on the delivery time frame - from overnight to 10+ business days. She also gave me all the paperwork that I had to fill out in order for me to mail the letter over. She even let me cut back in line once I was ready. Overall, a decent experience at this USPS!

tia hinds: I have had my fair share of experiences with the post office but every time I come into this location they are always friendly and helpful. Today Myra went above and beyond to help me locate a package that I needed to stop transit on. I cannot remember the other nice lady who has worked there for years name but she was also so kind and helpful. I really appreciate the staff here.

United States Postal Service: what do users think?

Andy: Good location with helpful staff. This location helped me with a very puzzling issue and deserves credit. USPS accidentally delivered a package of mine to the Pakistani Embassy in DC. So bizarre it's almost funny. The lady behind the counter explained what had happened and gave me clear next steps. Then, USPS sent a worker to the embassy to retrieve my package and delivered it later that afternoon. Much to my surprise! I'd given up. I was frustrated and confused, and the workers at this location helped me understand and resolve the issue. They were patient and polite. I'm very grateful.

Devin James: Unfortunately, all the negative reviews are accurate. This location has incredibly rude and unprofessional employees. My experience here was by far the worst out of any USPS office I’ve gone to before. Recommend going elsewhere if possible.

Benjamin Park: The front staff got mad I approached the counter when no one was in line. Also rolled her eyes when I politely asked to verify the tracking number on the receipt. American customer service at its best. Her entire face screams how much she hates her job and people

Sami Habayeb: Worker was picking her teeth with dental floss. I asked nicely if they had any certified mail receipts, she said I need to wait in line and not approach her. She then started yelling at me saying it's a pandemic. Mind you she has no mask on at this time. She then refused to serve me and let people behind me in the line ahead of me. The whole office denied me service. Toniq is super rude and deserves to be fired. Station manager is non existent. This incident was filed with the proper channels I do hope something is done.

Kate Doran: It’s never a positive experience going here. Today I was yelled at for approaching the counter. The ladies there have consistently been disrespectful and I’m unsure how they are still employed in a customer service role. My advice? Go to any UPS location before coming here.

G: If I could give zero stars, I absolutely would. The employees are incredibly rude for no reason. I was forced to purchase a faulty envelope that was unusable (it was somehow glued shut along the length of the opening) that I didn't realize until after I wrote on it thinking it would be usable since it was on the shelf. I wasn't rude at all but was firm about not wanting to pay bc its unusable and not my fault that the a faulty product was on the shelf. But then the manager held my other packages HOSTAGE and threatened to not give any service if I didn't pay the measly $2. Even if I was in the wrong, this was no way to handle the situation. Like I get you hate your job, I've worked retail and customer service before, but it's not hard to treat others with basic decency especially over a $2 product. I ship a bunch of products and will no longer give them my business. Do yourself a favor and walk the extra 2 blocks to the M street store. Way better experience.

Ling Chen: It is not helpful if they always scan a package as "delivered" when it is actually not delivered and was only in their warehouse, and the delivery person did not even show up in the building at all. A lot of things can go wrong between the warehouse and the actual on-site delivery. Scanning things as "delivered" when it is absolutely not is really not helpful, and I am not sure if its even legal.

Alexander Rizk: I don’t understand why many reviews seem to have problems with the staff. I lived a block away from this location, and would often ship many items as a reseller. Every single time I needed to ship something the staff were more than helpful and always treated me very well. They were all extremely friendly and would often greet me with a warm welcome. I was honestly shocked by how nice it was to do business with a USPS store.

slao05: So, I went to ship a package today, only to find a completely new staff at this location. My only gripe is the reaction I received from one of the female staff members after telling her I wanted to pay with cash. She said something along the lines of, "Nope, uh uh, I don't do cash." It shouldn't be that difficult to politely tell me to go to another staff member instead of being so rude. Fix your attitude next time for future customers, that is all.

Steve: I live in the neighborhood and use this post office often. Every once in a while I have a good experience here but most of the time the staff acts like everything they are doing is the biggest inconvenience to them despite it being the job they agreed to do. You'll get your things shipped out of here but be prepared to be met with attitude from the employees.

United States Postal Service: what do users think?

Sean Thomas Augustine Ferro: I can’t speak for the whole facility, though was riding my bike past this location and as I passed a postal worker was heading to his car parked on the street. He smiled and wished me a great day. I exchanged a kind word in return and in that moment felt instantly uplifted. Sometimes little interactions like that can really turn around an otherwise challenging day. Feeling grateful for this local USPS branch

David david: I would like to say to all the employees of post office in general to look where they leaving the mail if is in the correct address. They left my mail in the next door or next 2 doors. Is like really? Why do they hire people that won’t pay attention to what they doing. I had my package delivered and wasn’t there at the address they might left it in the wrong address and I never get the package and all my mail aren’t delivered to my address. Can you please check the address before leaving the mail or how to fix this issue because is really annoying I’d like that issue to be fixed PLEASE!!!

ASK Dee Fair: Just left this location and after standing in line a few minutes the female working behind the counter makes an announcement cash only....no sign visible etc...I went to the Takoma Park location and was advised this is a regular occurrence at this location however it's a game they play to do less...if they don't want to sit and work quit someone will replace you...management needs to handle this appropriately...asap!..Ask Dee Fair Common Sense 101/you tube.

Crystal Brown: Our regular mail carrier is great and the person at the window is usually nice. But God forbid if you call and speak to those in the office. Rude, rude and ruder. No manners or customer service etiquette at all.

Andrea Rodney: I have been having problems with this post office for years now my God I have never seen such a unprofessional dirty place before treat there customer as if we are there asking them to do something other than there job that they went and applied for, this behavior is unacceptable. went there to pick my packages up after my tracking information shows that they has been delivered there, gave them the numbers she went in the back just has she walked away I decide I was going to check my post office box where she and the supervisor was standing talking. she said I to him I found her mail then she asked him what was the problem, as she walk back out and tell me there was no mail and that she cannot find my mail with the tracking number, that I should call ups for them to give me there tracking number so that she can look it up

Maseh Berri: The post office attendance (the bulky elder guy) is the slowest officer I ever met, he uses upto 20 min per client, and is not flexible at all. Please if u want a quick service DO NOT COME HERE. But if u have the hold day, then is the place for u.

Katorra Christina: Adding to the 1 star ratings. I’ve never had any problems before receiving packages until recently and it’s unrelated to COVID. I believe there is either a theft problem or supreme inefficiency, both have caused me a loss of time and money. If you call don’t expect any help. Someone actually hung up on me while I was mid sentence explaining my package was never delivered even though the person said they did on two separate occasions.

David Askew: Have not received mail on the 4000 block of Kansas Ave NW in 3 days. I was notified that the package I was expecting was just delivered. What a crock of_____! The reason I know for certain that it was not delivered was the fact that I was sitging at the front door, no mail person came even close to the building. What that person probably did was stand at the mail truck and scan it as delivered. A bull____ way to run a mail route.

R.Derrick Thomas: Would give it zero stars if possible. Ive had the same experience as many others... Rude staff; a phone line which is never available or picked up; long lines because the desk staff chats casually behind the glass with coworkers or engages with gossip with customers after their transaction is complete. I've also had the mysterious "delivery attempted" notice come via email with no physical notice at my front door and while I was sitting at home waiting for the package. The USPost Master needs to take these complaints seriously.

Preston Bays: Gave two stars because the post office employee was nice and polite. Website says this location does passports, but that is false. Brought our infant and was a complete waste of time. FYI the 900 Brentwood Road NE Post Office does, and also allows walk-ins.

United States Postal Service: what do users think?

Jamie Fallowfield: I usually love this location, isn't usually too busy (it has its days) and I am usually served by a kind employee, but today was not that day. I made a passport photo appointment, took time out of my day to walk over there, to find out the person that takes the photos isn't there. Which was frustrating because they were taking photos for another client, but said it was for a different service. I don't think you need to be a specialized photographer since they told me to go to CVS/Walgreens. I am mostly frustrated that they didn't call or cancel my appointment, as i could have rescheduled for another day. Very frustrating.

Frances Giovanetti: Why after working on Post Office trucks in South Jersey, the people working on these vehicles are not getting paid. There is a digit code they have to use and it keeps getting denied, and you have to keep resubmitting it till it goes thru. Can someone find the problem? You expect these workers to fix your 40 year old trucks and not get paid, beside not suppling parts to fix them. No wonder people are complaining about the service when there is not enough working trucks to go around this South Jersey area, and the mail carriers have no trucks to deliver the mail I can't wait to hear this excuse.

Captain National Express: It's an fabolus area to place many mails in the delivery service. When it comes to create something important, they cna make it, when they want to send the products in the mail, they can take it to the dilivery service where they can assists them to have many solution to be in the decent times. This is one of the largest places in the district arena. Sure it is the option for the deivery event,

Chaz Polo: AVOID THIS PLACE IF POSSIBLE. If I could give zero stars, I would. The "workers" here are mean, angry, unhelpful. The workers act as though they are not there to help people - they bark at anyone who has the slightest question and are unhelpful, caustic, rude. I have a PO Box here and I have seen so many terrible interactions...use another USPS if you can, this one has the worst workers I have seen in any city.

Life As Bre: I stood in line for over 10 minutes waiting on just a stamp and envelop. There was three people working. I was told only one person could accept my payment method . The person who could accept my payment was working on another task. There’s no way I should’ve waited that long. There could have been another way to solve this so that someone isn’t standing that long just waiting. There was no interest in even helping me get what I needed. No urge whatsoever. I eventually just walked out. Really bad for business.

Frode: Booked an appointment for passport photos online days in advance. Was told when I got there that the “agent” was at their Brentwood location half an hour away by Metro and that I had to go there instead. Why did they even let me book the appointment if the guy was never going to be there? Disgusting waste of people’s time UPDATE: Went to their Brentwood branch. Surprise, surprise, their camera wasn’t working so they told me to go to UPS instead. Absolutely embarrassing. This is a service you’re supposed to be providing, not the freaking lottery. I’ll be taking my business elsewhere in the future, but please for the sake of others who will undoubtedly be in my position going forward, get your act together USPS!

Sofia Signoris: Ms. Reid is the rudest employee I have encountered so far. Completely unhelpful, even after my husband asked for her help directly to set an appointment because HE IS BLIND. Nobody else was at the office and she refused to help, when my husband complained, she proceeded to call him "ignorant" said "I just work here I am not here to deal with you or listen to you", "shut up" and basically kicked him out. Pathetic costumer service if you ask me.

Tebriz Nebiyev: Terrible customer service . They cancelled the passport appointment withiut letting us know .

Michelle Long: Is it possible to give negative stars because I think even 1 star is too generous. After waiting in line to use the automated machine to send my priority package, the size envelope I had selected was not an option on the machine, so I had to go wait in the line to have an employee help me. I waited in line for 38 minutes, witnessed not 1, but 2 arguments between frustrated customers and the only 2 employees that were working, and then was yelled at by an employee when I asked why the machine didn't have my selected envelope size. She yelled at me again when I mentioned that the price she quoted me did not match the sign below the envelope I had selected. In total, I was in the post office for 50 minutes to mail one package and paid the same price that I would have if I had gone to UPS. In general, they are wildly understaffed at this location, perhaps consequently, are incredibly stressed and rude.

Dennis Sutch: Good location for those working in and around the Federal Triangle area. There are usually very long lines to get service. The overworked employees are rushed, which leads to average to lie customer service. I primarily use this location to drop off envelopes and packages for delivery, and to purchase postage from the automated machine. Unfortunately there is only one such machine, so there can be a wait. This building has some interesting architectural details and murals.

United States Postal Service: what do users think?

Diane Gremillion: This location is perfectly adequate for basic postage issues, and I saw many people coming in for passport pictures. They very adamantly would not allow hand-stamping envelopes for our wedding invitations. We ended up driving to Roselyn where they were more than happy to accommodate hand stamping

Jane L: I stopped by to drop off a prepaid package. The post office had three service reps and a manager on a Saturday! The manager was available to answer any questions people waiting in line might have which was super helpful. The line went pretty quickly and everyone was very friendly. My package arrived at its destination on time.

Sharry Dhanoya: I’m not sure why the reviews are so bad for this USPS location. Yes, the lines are long, but that’s expected bc the USPS shipping rates are less than UPS and FedEx. I’ve used this post office location multiple times and have received good customer service. Mr. Anthony is a gem— very pleasant to deal with, he apologizes for the long lines and thanks you for your patience. My packages were delivered in a timely manner without issue. I’ll be returning here again.

Becca j: I never received my 7 packages and no one was able to help me. I was given a number for supervisor, called it multiple times and it does not work.

Cam Napier: Horrible USPS location. Was one of two customers and waited 14 minutes while the staff shouted at each other in the back. When they finally got to me, the cashier ripped the tape off my package (also ripping my packing label) another employee told me to put on my package. She then told me to leave since I now had nothing to ship. Never been treated this poorly by any employee at any USPS ever.

Alexander Kneeland: After a month of contacting them because I didn't receive my package, I got an impatient, unprofessional, and rude phone call telling me they will do nothing more to find the package they lost. When asking for clarification, the employee just repeated the same jargon loop again with a more hostile tone each time. This location is obviously not dedicated to service and I will make sure to remember how I was treated for a long time.

Melissa Curling: There is man at this location that was incredibly rude to me and several other women in line. Not one of the employees was wearing a mask in the main mail room that helps customers. I took a few packages out to the PO Box area to package them and get out of the way of all the other people, considering the requirements to social distance, and the man came out without a mask on to yell at me for stealing the envelopes. He then proceeded to tell his co-workers how dumb I was. It was a terrible experience and I will NEVER go back to this location.

Sherise: Absolutely horrible even though there is a line customers can freely go up to the counter whenever they please. I stood in line waiting while both female cashiers flirted with a male customer That was able to walk freely back and forth to the counter while both cashiers took their time helping him. Just horrible. Will rather drive out to MD or VA where I know I’ll get better service. 6/24/2020

Paul Reed: ***AVOID AT ALL COST IF YOU CARE ABOUT YOUR MONEY*** A package of mine recently went "missing". The tracking number said they tried to deliver it my location twice. The carrier never bothered to leave a slip either time, probably because he knew it was an expensive item. So on the third attempt magically someone in my empty house opened the door signed my name (spelling my name completely wrong) and the package just disappeared. Give me a break. They should be ashamed of themselves taking expensive money from people who are just barely getting by it is absolutely disgusting. If you have this issue that I did don't bother calling the number here because it will go straight to dial tone. I tried calling in a four times in a three hour window and it went straight to dial tone each time. THREE HOURS! That is insane. I am not sure if anyone will actually read this but if you do I implore you to use a different service or a different location if you care about your items and you work hard for your money like I do. Absolutely shameful.

Christopher Albert: Carrier did not deliver a signature required EMS package but marked it as delivered. USPS staff agreed mistake had been made, promised to investigate and call me back and never did. I went down the location and spoke to them twice about it. Sorry, but I would never ship anything important via USPS to or from the DC area as I have had multiple issues like this over the past few years, perhaps USPS are more competent in other parts of the country?

United States Postal Service: what do users think?

Nic Filz: A very small effort to locate (not well marked.) I'm from Western Colorado & I was pleasantly surprised (due to the negative reviews). Friendly Postal worker @ the window! They had the supplies we needed to ship items from conference. I had a very good experience there & thank you. Much more friendly than many other USPS places I've to.

Jeanne Louise Heiser: The older African American male clerk with short graying hair is extremely condescending and unprofessional towards young women. After waiting in line for counter service, he told me I had to use the self-service machine to drop off a package I told him I needed a receipt, and he told me the self-service machine could do that. I used the self service machine. After answering the hazardous materials question and scanning the bar code on my package, the self-service machine told me it could not accept my package for self-service and it had to be brought to the counter to be accepted during business hours. I waited back in line to drop it off at the counter. I over heard the clerk tell another clerk that I refused to use the self-service machine, which was not true. The clerk again told me I had to use the self-service. I told him I did but it said it could not accept my package. The clerk told me that was not true and that I either made it up not to use the machine or did it incorrectly. Instead of taking my package, the clerk walked me back to the self-service machine where I did the exact same thing as before, and it did not display the error message. The clerk was extremely condescending and unprofessional repeatedly stating falsely that I made up the error message, it's never told anyone it cannot accept a package before, that I just did not want to use the self-service machine, and that I used the machine incorrectly when I did the same exact thing again. I am extremely tech savvy and have no issues using self-service machines. The level of unprofessionalism I experienced is absolutely unacceptable.

Roman Abreu: Poor service, slow, disrespectful, makes every transaction more difficult here. As others mentioned the older African American clerk that is always here simply treats everyone (not just women) condescendingly and refuses to do his work, I have had issues in the past and today was no exception, the mailbox was full and he wouldn't simply accept the package at the counter and provide me a receipt after I was in line for 15 minutes, he preferred to try to come "to show me how to scan it" despite having a line of people behind me, such a mind blowing ridiculous situation that explains why everything is always so slow here. If he just doesn't want to work there anymore he should just quit... I simply recommend to avoid this place.

Sara Lynne Thelen: Avoid if you can. Walked in with a package prepaid for shipment from a different location. Wanted to make sure it didn't require additional postage being sent from DC instead. Man behind counter refused to acknowledge my question, continuing to insist it was prepaid and for me to leave it there. When I asked for clarification he took it personally and began talking loudly to no one in particular about how I didn't believe him. His colleague just told me it was "fine" so I left the package. Walking away now, freaked out by the aggression and still unsure whether or not it will be sent.

Zoe W: Older gentleman behind the counter is soooo incredibly rude and dismissive. I work in the service industry so I know how frustrating it can be to deal with the public, but this guy is awful. I simply asked him about mailing a package with a prepaid label and he said "there's a machine up front. Have a good one. NEXT!" I said ok do I get a tracking number? "I'm not going to repeat myself ma'am. NEXT!" He was just hanging around behind the counter while the other lady was doing all the work. He finally came to the window when the line reached the door. I have no clue how he still has a job there. This is the second time I've had the unfortunate experience of him waiting on me. I only go here because it's close to my apartment. But go elsewhere folks!

Mia Ives-Rublee: Staff was curt, boarding on rude. Forced me to buy a roll of tape to tape my package. Nothing was accessible if you use a wheelchair. I told them I couldn't reach the tape and they just stared at me. Another customer helped me get the tape. None of the counters are low enough so I sat there struggling to tape it closed. They told me to move away from the counter so they could help another customer rather than offer to help. It was infuriating.

Rose Lang-Maso: Was openly disrespected and ridiculed by Walter, a “customer service” worker, who is seemingly described below by numerous posters. Completely unacceptable treatment.

Jess: Do you wanna be belittled by the man behind the counter for not knowing what you should use and asking a question? Come to this location! This happens to me without fail every time he is working. Older black guy with glasses, I am talking about you!

Patrick Cage: Courteous efficient generous and helpful staff. Clearly trying hard, either because or in spite of negative reviews. I was nervous about the experience because of the rating beforehand. Was better than most post office experiences even tbh

Charlie Leu: Hit or miss. Some of the clerks are professional and very helpful, some are just angry waiting to happen. PSA to the employees in this location: Try to lower your voice in the back room if you’re going to talk trash about your customers because the walls are very thin.

United States Postal Service: what do users think?

Patrick T.: Never had any problems with this place. Good to see familiars with the staff. I guess they had a higher turnover rate before, but now I'm seeing the regulars. Which means, reliability. I mean, don't expect the monopoly man passing out silk toilet paper on a silver platter at the post office...it's a federal establishment

Lucas Frota Verri Pinheiro: Let's be real. The entire system is designed not to deliver mail, but to protect the corporation and its inefficiency. Systematically, we receive alerts that packages have been delivered, but the truth is they have not been delivered. Then you drag yourself to the distribution center to pick up a package that was supposed to be delivered to your address in the first place. If you try to complain, you will be drowned in so much bureaucracy that you will quickly give up, simply because it will take forever, nothing will ever happen, and you have other important things to do in your life. Welcome to USPS.

Mayo: Failed to deliver my package to the destination (although they marked it as "delivered", then eventually admitted that they lost the package and told me that there is nothing they could do about it. They have no idea where they placed it and were not willing to provide the senders info. so that I could get an idea of who sent it.

Matko: False statement about delivery attempt. My home is high rise building with 24-hour front desk but carrier made remark saying that delivery attempt was made and I have to pickup item myself. Did not make clear location where and no explanation. why. What is going on with USPS?

Oluwatobi Busari: Easy interaction for passport return shipping label. Embassy specific information was readily available.

Angel Montano: This day I came to leave some small packages and I found the mailboxes full and a package stuck and I told the person who was there, She responded in a bad way and told me that it doesn't matter, it seems that she doesn't care about the work, his behavior is offensive, my experience today was terrible, bad person, he is not interested in helping others

Anna Halbritter: Went to this location to get a passport for my infant child. Paid for the required photo, and expedited service. Received a letter a month later, from the Department of State, that the photo had been rejected. Called the post office about the issue, and was first hung up on after being transferred to the passport office. I called again, and was then told to come in anytime before 3pm, an appointment was not needed. When I arrived, the woman asked why I was there, if I had an appointment, and if I had a receipt from the previous visit. I did not. She asked for the name. I gave it, and the letter from the photo rejection notice from Department of State. The woman took my child's photo, and stapled it to the letter. She then said I would need to purchase a stamp to mail it. I stepped in to line, sealed the envelope, and when it was my turn, she came out of her office, and told the (far left) clerk I would need to pay for the new photo as well. I said no, I would not be paying for the retaken photo. He said he would charge me for the stamp, and I could take it up with her. I said that would be fine. I paid, and then asked to speak with a supervisor. He indicated there might not be one available, but he would check. He returned a few moments later, with a supervisor. I explained the situation, she asked if I had a copy of the original photo. I said I did, at home. To which the passport employee came out of her office again, and commented that, see? I hadn't been able to supply the original rejected photo. She never asked me for it. The manager said this was all going to be cleared up, I was NOT to be charged, and she would expedite the mailing of the photo and required letter to the Department of State. I told her I was willing to go back home and get the copy of the original rejected photo, or happily email it to whatever email address she indicated. She was apologetic, and said that would not be necessary. The females that run the passport office are harsh, brusk, rude, and work with all the competence of uncaring people, who know they cannot be fired. Willing to hustle you for the fee of a photo, they took incorrectly, and had to retake! My original appointment and services paid for is on record, searchable by name. IF YOU NEED EXPEDITED SERVICE AND THINGS DONE CORRECTLY FOR A PASSPORT, DO NOT HAVE YOUR PAPERWORK PROCESSED AT THIS LOCATION.

daniel scott: The rudest a__holes. Surprised to have this crew in upper NW DC. I will stay with the Alexandria VA post offices

Chelsea Champlin: I wanted to send a small holiday token to my coworkers who are now scattered around the country, even if trivial, because this has been such a hard year on everyone. I admit I was not looking forward to the postal part of the process, especially considering it meant sending 11 separate packages. I am really overcome with emotion because of the patience and kindness I was met with in Angelo today. He didn't balk or complain, just kindly and methodically entered all my packages. When he finished, he asked me if I needed anything else and wished me well. I know the USPS has been through a lot, too, and I am so grateful for Angelo, his work, and his kindness today. It really meant a lot.

Sam Van Oort: I've always had good experiences at this location. The staff have always been friendly and even helpful (!) in my experience. I know a lot of people get grumpy at the post office because the services can be a bit confusing and sometimes have odd restrictions or policies. But the staff here really do try to do their best with it. On the other hand AVOID the Cleveland Park post office: the staff there are unhelpful at best and frequently rude or downright nasty. I've never seen someone in a public-facing profession behave as badly as the Cleveland Park staff. Plus this location is open for part of Sunday!

United States Postal Service: what do users think?

Hannah: Rudest staff I’ve ever encountered. What should’ve taken me five minutes took an hour. No masks were worn by staff, and they chatted amongst themselves and took personal calls while people were waiting in line.

Norma Canedo: I just left around 3pm today and was shocked with how rude one of the female workers was with me. I stood in line and she completely ignored me barely looked at me and just went about her business. The young man that works there is always friendly, so I don’t have anything to say about him. But I just felt so unwelcome by the woman. She then later called me over after not once acknowledging my presence and I told her she was very rude. She explained she was on her lunch break, so I guess common decency doesn’t matter on your lunch break? Thankfully I found another postal office nearby. I will never go to this one again! It’s not the first time she has been unprofessional. If you don’t like your job, leave it.

Charyn Torres: I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE! On June 18 2021 at 12:47 pm I received the worst service someone could get from Clerk #24. You could tell this woman was so frustrated with her job. She stayed on the phone the whole time and I swear she never looked at me, not even once. Her eyes were focused on her phone. Her attitude was so unrespectful and like if she were superior. While I tried to ask her questions about my transaction, she didn't let me talk and interrupted me all the time. I seriously don't understand how and why such individual is hired to "work" for such a recognized federal institution. I hope USPS takes action and starts getting rid of people like these as well as hiring more capable employees. If employees like this woman hate their job so much and feel so miserable, QUIT!

Nils Hünerfürst: At first it was like: duuh. What is here hoing on but then there was a nice and helpful employee.

Christian Walton: This has to be the worst service I have ever received. Staff makes everything overly complicated and almost refuse to help. I regret every time I have to ship something out of this location

Shantée Nicole: This location looks like it's closed and the associates usually rush through and recite a scripted bit about a survey on the receipt, they talk too fast and are just there collecting a check. I go to purchase a money order and the associate is sitting there playing on his phone. Hr rung me up and they didn't even have them. So I am inconvenienced with having to wait an hour plus for him to refund or void my purchase, which isn't an easy transaction like taking my money. Never again

Andromeda Star: Clerks were on their phones while my colleague had to wait a couple of minutes. Finally she looked up and said you can come up to the desk like she was doing her a favor. Very unprofessional and does NOT reflect well on the postal service. I would give 0 stars if possible.

Nicole Chase: The ladies that work at this post office have the worst customer service I have ever experienced! Two of them specifically. They always have bad attitudes and I heard two of the ladies making a joke about a customer’s appearance, in which the remaining customers waited another 5-10 minutes for them to stop talking before being helped. They act like they hate their job which is very obvious. But their attitudes are a reflection of themselves not the post office. They clearly do not make an effort to do better in life which is why their character reflects how lazy they are.

Lyds A: I have been standing in line for over 30 minutes. There is only one clerk at the check out when there was two. With the line back to the door, the other clerk went to lunch leaving the one clerk. The clerk makes the announcement that she's the only one available and that her colleague was entitled to lunch. Although, that maybe so, the second clerk could have taken her lunch at a later time to accommodate the customers. For a busy area like this, the wait time at this location is unacceptable.

LK: This is the worst post office I've ever been to. There was literally a 20 person line (at 2:30pm). After waiting for 30 minutes I understand why it took so long. The lady who was supposed to be helping me was pretty much there to just chat about anything possible. I tried to steer the conversation towards getting out of there and she wouldn't let me get a word in edgewise. I felt like I was in a reality TV show it was so weird. I think it might be some weird competition between the staff to see who can take the longest and stall. It was bizarre. These post-office ladies really hate their job and should probably find another job. Nobody should hate their job that much.

United States Postal Service: what do users think?

Jean Taylor: I received the most rudest customer service from Clerk 15, in addition to hearing her being rude to two other customers before me. Her tone with me was just as nasty for asking a question about the amount of insurance I requested. She definitely delivers the rudeness but failed to inform me of tracking number by circling on my receipt as is customary of postal clerks. Apparently Clerk 15’s priority is to deliver the nastiest and rudest customer service ever. Customers should not be bullied or made to feel intimidated by this person whose nasty attitude is definitely not an asset to the postal service. Please do better by placing people friendly clerks on the front line. Customers deserve to be treated with respect.

acacia bobik: Clerk #15 is rude and unhelpful. She was spitting sunflower seeds at the desk and making snide comments. Would not recommend wasting your time at this location. She did not offer explanation or answer questions regarding different prices for mailing a large envelope. She was more interesting in talking inappropriately about her co-workers with another co-worker

Lena: 6/18/2022 They didn't open at 9 AM on Saturday because the employee with a key did not show up to work. As far as I know, six customers came and left by 9:15 AM. At least there was a kind and responsible employee informing us immediately that we should go to the other post office.

Y. WW: I had the worst experience at this postal service. I mailed a pair of Kay Jewelers earrings to my friend as wedding gift from this USPS location about 10 days ago. The package was severely damaged and the earrings were lost at delivery. Only my card was left in the broken package. I regretted I used First Class instead of Priority; otherwise, I could file an insurance claim. But now my earrings worth over $50 were just gone.

Jean Philibert: I went to the Post Office at 1215 31st Street today. What a horrible experience. The clerk was so rude! I am in shock that she is able to treat peopleso rudely and keep her job.

i b: I asked to get a letter hand-cancelled and the lady managing the counter practically yelled at me to put it into the bin where all the letters are automatically cancelled. I came just two days ago and they hand-cancelled my letter so I know they have the capability to. Kinda ridiculous. Beautiful interior and exterior physically of the building, but I wouldn’t come back if I didn’t need to. Much prefer using the one in Union Station or Watergate.

Olivia Waterhouse: Shipping a pile of presents was a breeze! The woman working the desk was super thorough and helpful - making sure to double check the package weights so none were rejected/returned. (I wish I got her name, but her birthday was last Sunday!) I'd absolutely recommend this branch. Fast, friendly, and efficient service.

Jovan Bethel: The lady named Kara who works here is very rude. Literally all I wanted to do was mail off my phone back to T-Mobile and was in turn treated by with the utmost disrespect; making me seem as if I did not know how to mail a package! Telling me things that I already know about packaging while continuing to scorn me for what I "better do next time I come into their store or else"! And the young light-skinned lady who works there was also very rude; trying to belittle my intellect. All of this over me just dropping off some mail. NEVER AGAIN will I go there!!

R D: Three of our packages were missing in the last week. A supervisor "Smith" contacted me and she stated "we located your packed in OH.. you have to contact the USPS in OH and conduct your own investigation.". Keep in mind this is for a package USPS lost. The manager Tobley was absolutely no help and decided not to assist in this manner. Now I understand the "DEFUND THE USPS" chants lately. This location is extremely unprofessional. please read the reviews.

Maria Pabom: I have never felt such a bad energy and bad service here. Thet two women working at the front desk. They almost don't answer my question giving me a look, like...what are you saying???? I said thank you, they did not even respond. I handed my coins for the stamp, they did not put the stamp, just kept looking at me , like saying , good bye. Terrible experience.

United States Postal Service: what do users think?

Holly Hieu Vo: Don’t think our reviews will ever impact these workers, and realistically we will have to come here again, but here comes 1 more negative review confirming the rudeness, inefficiency and unhelpfulness of the staff here. They have too much power without actual customer facing skills. Did they answer “Yes I love helping others?” during the interviews. I think so. But reality? Well, read the reviews. I feel like these people aren’t grateful to have a job that is not fast paced (compared to a restaurant), sedentary (compared to delivery folks), and inside a cool, dry, safe place (compared to construction workers). They don’t have pride in themselves and what they do, and thus do a bad job. My uncle has been a USPS delivery man for over 30 years (his salary is probably triple theirs) but he loves it, he brings dog treats with him, and helps however he can. Thanks Google for creating a space for me, and you, to express our frustration. But is it our fault to want better customer service and all feel happier from small things in our daily life? I think we deserve it.

Maham Khan: Worst workers I’ve ever seen. The two women at the counter were having a LOUD conversation about Beyoncé and coachella and completely ignored me (the customer). They were not interested in any capacity to help me ship my things out. I was trying to talk and they were simply just ignoring me. For reference I went on 06/30 and it was 4:30pm.

Daren Miller: Visited this location on 1/8/22 at 9AM. I wish there was a 0 star option for this location. Unfortunately my experience was beyond disappointing and disheartening. The service was horrible and it would be best for this location to be closed. The employees seem ungrateful for their customers. A perfect example why I avoid the post office. Please make this a better place of service. Sadly, disappointed customer. 🙁

Kristy Nguyen: Today I was the subject of discrimination at this location. I had parked far and when I got to the door, I realized my mask wasn’t on me and it was about to pour down raining so I went ahead in. The sign on the door said masks were recommended. I’m vaccinated so I thought I was okay. When I got to the counter, the man rudely and aggressively said to me “how can I help you but where is your mask”. I said the sign says recommended and that I’m vaccinated. He said the requirements are different than what the sign says. The other post office worker next to him laughs. I went back to my car in the rain and when I went back, the man in front of me didn’t have a mask but the same man said nothing. When I pointed this out to him why he didn’t ask this man in front of me about a mask but he had asked me, he started arguing with me and the girl next to him did the same. It’s not about a mask, it’s about you talk and treat people. The man in front of me in line was Latin, I am Asian. I feel like I was targeted for this, especially with all that is going on in the world. Simply put, I will never step foot in here again.

Aphrodite Kishi: Incredibly rude, unreliable woman (Clerk No. 5) at the desk every day. Go to any other USPS in town, and you will not find such a mean person.

Jeff Ras: A sad sullen place - the long-time male post officer is really good but the lady that is there - 2/19/21 - she was there today - in her 30s - leaves a lot to be desired on demeanor with customers. Really dislike going here but we do not have options. Its a scary small place to go during covid too. I do feel sympathy for the workers however. Hardly a 21 century facility.

Alejandra De Rivero: Today at 4:54 am I entered the usps located at 2300 18th St NW Lbby, Washington, DC 20009, I carried with me a box where some gifts sent, vitamins and a machine to measure the level of sugar in the blood to my parents who live In Peru, which are isolated and in very delicate health, in Peru the quarantine has been very strict, that is why I had not been able to send anything until now, a window was opened and I felt that I had to take advantage of it. The lady who works in the post office did not want to attend to me, she claimed that as it was an international shipment, it would take her a long time, she asked me to leave the place in a very bad way, despite the fact that the people who were still inside tried to persuade her Together with me, we told her that she had a duty to attend to all of us who had arrived there before 5 o'clock, which is closing time, she said she had a lot of work to do and flatly refused to attend to me. What this lady doesn’t understand is that we all work and it was her duty to attend to me, nobody was asking her for a favor, I had to arrive earlier this morning at my work to be able to leave earlier and arrive at the post office on time and so I did, however she didn’t want to attend to me, I felt very frustrated. And I write this that appropriate measures be taken because customers should not be treated in this way. If the postal service closes the doors at 5pm, it is only fair that they serve the people who are inside the premises from before 5pm. This weekend is a holiday and most of us are hard-working people who make great efforts to be able to get to the post offices on time since they are only open during the hours in which most people are working, they should also improve their customer service, it is usually very rude

Paulina Koczyk: Extremely rude customer service, always giving rude comments in front of customers, always ready to argue. Very unprofessional, I wish there is another facility close by I can go to

Isaac Oguji: Hell yeah! These guys are really good. I got the best mailing service ever. Posted an item over 5kg in Washington and it delivered in Georgia the next day with expedited/priority mailing. Very customer friendly and efficient company. They deserve 5-star rating!

jason paiement: USPS lost my Guaranteed Express next day delivery. Very unfriendly tracking system, would not use again.

United States Postal Service: what do users think?

Critical Chris: If you have a PO box there, they are slow to sort your mail into it, even if you have tracking numbers to show a backstory of the movement of that mail piece through the system, and its arrival at that post office. At this location, “Ready for pickup” tracking status actually means it —might— be ready for you to pick it up 3 to 4 postal working days later. That means Mondays to Fridays, not including weekend days nor holidays. There’s good transit access, a nearby metrorail station, and bus stops, and one bike rack out front, which is apparently not much close by bike parking relative to its usage. The availability of street parking of a car in the vicinity is quite mediocre, unless you want to pay $13 to park in the pay lot behind the place.

John Bryan: Do not go to this post office except for stamps. The postal clerks are consistently rude and openly hostile. (I have met one clerk who was courteous.) The main problem is that they provide incorrect information. This morning, I was the sole customer in an empty post office at 10:15 a.m. Staff ignored me for several minutes. I specifically asked to mail two packages that can be tracked without a signature requirement. I had several questions on what type of mail was required. I assumed certified and asked the postal clerk to confirm. The clerk did not provide the correct information when I asked. I had to press for it. And my receipt was missing one of the tracking numbers. It is now a complete mess and I am working on getting the package back simply to identify the tracking number.

C. M.: I just returned from picking up a package and was dreading what I thought would be a nightmarish, holiday packed, endless visit to the Post Office. I couldn't have been more wrong. While it was moderately busy, things moved quickly and the young lady assisting me was extremely professional and helped resolve my issue. Furthermore, I also get why people speak so highly of Ms. Yvette, she is an absolute gem! Although she wasn't the one assisting me, I was blessed to hear her conversations with the other customers. She made my day with her warmth and kindness to everyone she talked to. Would go back just to chat with her!

Sly Winx: ZERO stars. The staff including the manager is rude, unhelpful, disrespectful and discriminating (origin/accent, disabilities). I went there to send a small package, did not know which form to fill, did not have my glasses and could not read well. I filled the form 5 times because Miss Hines could not accept my handwriting and information provided. Also, I could not understand her English, and I could not hear her well as she was behind the glass and wearing the mask. Additionally she wanted to axe me and I did not know why. I got wound up and she laughed at me .

Kate Salimi: Avoid this post office at all costs, unless you wish to be treated with the worst customer service.

Valery Т: Terrible service. They didn't deliver an expensive parcel, the postman lost it. Priority Mail Express International!!! Incredible!

T VD: Worst customer service !! One woman in particular seriously hates her job / life because after she was completely mean to me, she did the same thing to the person behind me. We then all agreed in line that this woman was the meanest most miserable person. Why do they always work at the post office?!

Michel Russo: I live in the area and repeatedly have bad experiences here. A certain employee will go out of their way to make your mailing difficult. The other employees aren’t as bad, but it’s not worth the gamble. Avoid this place if you have to use this location for anything other than a drop off or kiosk mailing.

Andres Velasco: Rude employees, they give you sass the entire time and are completely useless. Pay the difference and go across to UPS. No wonder USPS is going out of business….

Ella S.: I have never posted a review for anything before but due to very poor customer service received at this location I wanted to leave this comment. The employees at this location are very rude, unhelpful and do not care of individuals standing in line, even if they are elderly individuals. Even by any USPS standards the service was absolutely terrible. Save yourself some bad experiences and take your packages to a different location.

United States Postal Service: what do users think?

Adam Kapraun: USPS is the most slow shipping service in the world. Their average delivery times in my life narrative nearly equate to if I ordered something from China. That is how long these guys take. I wouldn’t trust these guys to mail a tic-tac on time to my Grandmother. They nearly always miss delivery dates. -with love from Charlotte North Carolina.

Swarnalakshmi Subramanian: Mailed a priority mail with 2 day delivery... send 5 packages 4 I received 1 is missing which I was having all important stuff... it's so ridiculous package is missing customer service consumer affairs all giving very very poor response saying package missing we don't know.. Libertyville chicago post office responsible for this 20 days no response. Advanced technology they couldn't track a package..Better to be aware and don't ever use USPS for any important packages.

Mr. Gerth: Usps is a gigantic piece of garbage. Anything government ran is just such trash, and no one can or will ever change my mind.

Oh God: WHOA ... WATCH OUT! Can the USPS ACTUALLY be making marked improvements in their service? After having two (later deemed three) packages disappear from my mailbox recently, I filled out a police report, filed reports with [the] USPS and with the sellers, and finally, contacted the US Postal Inspector's Office. Filing with my local sheriff's office and my local USPS did not (as was expected) garner much more than report numbers, but the US Postal Inspector's Office was a horse of a different color. I could not find a review page for them as they seem to be quite secretive about a physical address and I wasn't in the mood to really look, so I am leaving my review here in the hopes that it may help someone who is having problems with undelivered mail, or more accurately, packages. One of the things the lady who I spoke to, and I, discussed, was the use of the "Informed Delivery" service which the USPS now offers. With an active USPS account, when you enroll in Informed Delivery, you can opt to receive updates on all your packages via email or SMS messages on your phone. After hanging up with the representative, I signed up for it and, without exaggeration, had a notification within seconds about another package that was en-route that day. You can tweak it, as I did, to only be notified of packages placed in your mailbox, or for however number or choice of alerts you'd like. So far, I love it and I really like that USPS is implementing tools such as these to help their customers. … Now, if they could only answer their phones … ;)

John S. Sparky: I have an important package from uscis mail to me. I had moved and filed a forwarding address. All my mail was coming to my new address with no problem. This particular package didn't make to my new address. I found this undisciplined action was very unfair. I went to my local usps and asked to speak to a manager. I told him about the situation and he said he would have someone go back to the mailbox to check to see if the package remain there. He actually took my name and cell number with my tracking number to contact after. Of course nobody call me,so i went back ,i told to another gentleman and he said my package wouldn't be at the location. He also said after week if the return back to them, they usually send it back to where it came from. So i lost my package and now i going to hold usps a countable for a refund. It is completely thier fault. They are not doing very good job. ORLANDO USPS Hunters Creek area.

Anna Banana: I have a list of over 20 packages with tracking numbers that my local post office has not delivered to my PO Box. After several local complaints and complaints to USPS, it was escalated to the Postmaster General. Keep in mind these are tracking numbers showing the packages were never delivered. Nothing was done. Over $1500 in lost packages and lost mail. There's obviously a serious problem with USPS employees and Megan Brennan certainly isn't doing anything about it. Worst Postmaster General ever. I think my two year old could do a better job.

Gus Lazzari: I'm in agreement with "Vince" who stated: "I have nothing but disgust for this organization and the incompetence with which it is run. Any other company that was run in this manner, wouldn't last more than a few days." On-Line "click&Ship" charges you for the shipping tag just before you print. But no warnings anywhere in the T&C's or printed on the shipping paperwork that this $55 valuable sheet of paper expires ! After 90 days the USPS system doesn't recognize the Tracking Number ! (FedEx and UPS will show scanned info for years!). Like 'Gift Cards' that used to expire, someone had to sue to protect the public from company theft. Well this is just that; I agree with Vince's comment. Finally, let me add that this USPS company has had nothing but excuses blaming everything on its poor technology (1988 style)...

Ernest Rufus: I see why more people are using other delivery services. I ordered a package on 3/15/18 that arrived at the facility on the same day in Indiana. It was supposed to ship to Mississippi. The tracking system stated "In Transit to Next Facility" which really means that it is sitting in the distribution center or a truck somewhere. It made it to New Mexico on 3/17/18 and said it was sent right back out. Then it was "In Transit to Next Facility" until 5/21/18 where it ended up in Jacksonville, FL. Then it was "In Transit to Next Facility" until 5/24/18 where it ended up in Memphis, TN. I wondered if it will make its way to Mississippi. During this time, I called the customer service number. I had to wait anywhere from 1 hour to 3 hours to get a live person. Yesterday, the system crashed and I couldn't get a person at all. I even emailed the website and the lady at the local office called me to say that she has not received the package for delivery yet. You can't make this stuff up. If I ever order from that company again, I will use the FedEx option.

Evan Novoa: It sucks and takes forever. My package was supposed to be coming after christmas but guess what? they were so lazy they took forever to ship my package and its january the 3rd of 2018 and they are shipping it back to china then back to my residence?!?!!? They also suck because I am starting a band and I ordered a bass and they are also lazy that they are awaiting acceptance in the facility in Califronia which has been theyre since December the 20th and I ordered it December 19th. USPS, if you dont want bad ratings, be honest next time please.

Jason Hill: Being run like it will never go out of business and yet its been steadily losing market share for decades. USPS needs a Postmaster General with vision because the package delivery business is about to be turned upside down with automation. USPS could do something great for this country and upend the predatory payday loan business. Also, having actual people answer the phone would be a delightful jobs program.

United States Postal Service: what do users think?

Sue Morgan: The lady behind the counter only took cash for postage. She explained there was a national electronic system failure. That was quite concerning to hear. I found zero evidence to support her claim so far in the news. A horrifying experience on my first visit to the local post office.

Teddy: The return address is not required on postal mail. However, lack of a return address prevents the postal service from being able to return the item if it proves undeliverable; such as from damage, postage due, or invalid destination. Such mail may otherwise become dead letter mail. This lady here stood there yelling at me arguing to use a return adresss..

Marjorie Greenberg: This office closed 1:30 to 2:30 weekdays for a lunch break. What’s even worse is that it doesn’t open at 230. There’s a line here at 235 and no life here.

Cody Smith: The lady working the counter is extremely rude. They also keep no forms for opening a PO Box and expect you to go to the library to print forms that are required for a federal service. Are you kidding me?

Kimberly Diane: I’m not sure why everyone complains about the USPS, especially this location. Yes, hours are a little tighter than the ones I’m used to and it smells a little funny in the lobby. However, when I drop off my items to be mailed, they scan them right away to start tracking, which is great for my small business in showing my customers that I ship in less than 12 hours from time of order!

Aaron Pollon: I hate going to the Post Office as much as the next guy, but got to give credit when its due. Great experience today, woman working was very friendly and moved through the line as efficiently as she could. Here's hoping this level of service becomes the standard as USPS competes.

Laura Evans: I put my letters in the box in the lobby at 2:08 pm. The door to the lobby was locked. Another lady had been waiting for 25 minutes for the door to open. She said she did not hear anyone taking mail out of the box at the 2:00 pm scheduled pick up time from inside the PO while she was waiting there. We all waited another 10 minutes to see if anyone would open door. I left Several minutes later we saw the lady on the street. She waited more than half hour for employees to finish break. No one came. She was unable to mail her package. Sign on door said computer was broken and to use whyte st PO. Do not use this PO. It’s closed way too often and seems unreliable

Troy Seals: Normally this is a convenient location to do postal business, but they were closed today when I attempted to visit (2 days before X-mas 2019). The reason the sign gave was computer problems. It was a big inconvenience for me and others that came to get their last minute cards/gifts in the mail. I still think someone from the office should have been available near the entrance to answer questions. They had the place completely closed like it was a Sunday.

Salonee Mehta: Please note : This branch is closed from 1:30pm to 2:30pm for lunch

Ærik Carlton: I have lived in 7 different states and had over 30 different addresses, and Alexandria, Virginia has the worst postal service I have every experienced. You cannot even complain, because they never answer the phone. I have tried on numerous occasions to get my address off of their junk mail list, but they NEVER answer the phone. What a joke!

United States Postal Service: what do users think?

Chaturbhuj bhojwani: Great customer service Post office clerk was very nice. Lots of parking available outside this location is not very busy around 2:30 PM.

wind day: Pleasant and fast service. I was worried coming in to send a package since the ratings here are so bad, but the USPS lady/clerk greeted me nicely, was very pleasant and helpful. I was in and out in 5 mins. Place only had 2 other customers on Friday afternoon.

Nancy Cosner: I read the reviews before I mustered enough courage to stop in. I was concerned. To a very pleasant surprise, the young lady working there could not gave been more helpful. Quick visit in and out in less than 10 min.

Jill Borowski: I had a simple question about where to place a prepaid package and was rudely yelled at then ignored by an older woman working there. All I needed was a yes or no, but she couldn’t be bothered. Luckily another lady working there answered my question and was actually helpful. So a big thank you to that kind woman and I can only hope the first woman I dealt with was having a bad day and decided to externalize it.

Trevor Diaz: I’ve used this post office for the better part of 3 years. Disorganized with piles of stamps, paperwork, and cash behind the desk. Impossible to see prices until you’re standing at the bullet proof glass and despite the five service stations it seems like they’re staffed by one person every day of the week - it’s the same lady and man oh man does she do her best against her he never ending onslaught of customer dissatisfaction. If USPS gets around to reading these reviews, please heavily consider hiring some extra hands for the front of house.

Vinny Kennedy: Woman working this post office takes lunch whenever she wants and refuses to service other customers who come there during the posted working hours so she can have her personal time. Unreal. Would give 0 stars if possible.

Gwenaëlle Dufour: Umm... they close and work whenever they want. You can come anytime during the day, and you never know if they are open. Lunch break, time break, whichever break. They need more employees or better management. Not reliable. Go to the others USPS nearby.

Max Estevao: Waited 45 minutes for this facility to reopen before finally giving up like the other dozen people who'd been waiting in the parking lot since 11:30. A mail carrier van arrived and had to turn around because he couldn't get in to deliver mail. Several people who had decided to mail in their tax returns today after the electronic IRS fail yesterday were pretty upset they had wasted their lunch break.

F Wmson: This post office is understaffed resulting in a very long line of cutomers. With that said, the employees are great. They take the long line in stride and treat each customer with respect. They are cordial, very helpful with getting you serviced and believe it or not very proficient at their jobs.

Concerned Citizen: I happened to come during “lunch hour” at 3PM which left me waiting in a line of about 20 people. They don’t leave anything out at all so there’s no way to prepare while in line even if you’re waiting for the employees to slowly return from their lunch break. I had very important time sensitive documents to send so I had to come inside despite feeling concerned about COVID safety. I finally got to the front of the line and the lady behind the counter made me go to the back to get my box then wait again. They don’t create labels for you- it’s basically all DIY. When I asked for scissors to cut the tape (provided behind glass window) I was told to use a pen instead. I guess they have issues with theft here. So I finally get everything, and then the one worker who was just sitting there just stares at me. Eventually, I get to the other slightly more helpful lady who rang me up. I definitely tracked that package more than any before given its importance and leaving feeling like I’d experienced one of the most unprofessional and uncleanly post offices ever. New York subway stations might be cleaner than this place.

United States Postal Service: what do users think?

Chris Tzoganos: Cherry was super rude. She actually told me to leave the office with no hesitation. I didn't lose my temper even for a minute and tried to be as polite as it gets. She definitely needs to find another job that makes her happier or and least not disappoint the postal office customers

Gabriel Nahmias: Clarence was really great! Helped me make sure I packed things well and used the right package for the use case. Sweet guy and an easy experience.

Jon Stamps: It is a post office. It's on the LOWER LEVEL at the far West end, but nobody we asked knew that. When we looked Google Maps showed it on the ground level, but eventually found it.

YT C: Edit: Seems they removed this spot at Union Station, but there used to be a US postal office. I'd walked though the whole three floors and realized they had removed the USPS at this location. Original: There are two US postal offices near the union station. The one is at the corner of North Capitol & Massachusetts Ave. inside Smithsonian's National Postal Museum, which opens at 9am during the week. The other one is on the first floor of the union station, which opens at 7:30 on weekdays. These two postal offices are just 400 ft apart but don't get confused.

Tom Limmer: They should take down the Self-Service 24/7 sign if they lock all the doors after normal business hours. Waste of a trip here.

Karen Fowlkes: My experience was outstanding! The Woman (hair in long beautiful braids) who assisted me and others this early June 25th morning, was courteous, polite, thorough and very attentive to each individual... It was as if each customer was her PRIORITY! When it came to my turn, it was NO different, She made Me feel special, and that is what GREAT customer service is ALL ABOUT... The Customer! I will definitely do business here again! Thanks for making my D.C. morning AMAZING!!!!!

Jane L: I have been going to this post office for over 10 years and it is very reliable. Even during the holidays when they start piling packages up to the ceiling, your package will get to where it is going. Service reps are very thoughtful, courteous, and kind, BUT extremely slow. They are thorough, though, so if you have questions they will help. Just allow an extra 20-25 min and more if it's around the holidays or tax season. Bonus is that they have great hours and are right near the Metro.

Michal Michalik: I feel obligated to leave a great review. Honestly, I've used USPS number of times due to their reliability. And I'm not only using them for US based packages, even shipments between Asia-Europe,... all round the globe where I can, since the partners they work with globally are as reliable as they are. Price-wise, you'll find cheaper... offers... but in reality, if you want the item to actually arrive and in good condition, then, well... they are the cheapest. Thanks USPS, looking forward to my next shipments.

Ty Williams: I didn't know the District had a location that was open past 5:00 p.m., so I ventured here to mail two letters that were certified mail. It's a huge location. I was the only person in line. The attendant didn't make any eye contact with me. She simply said "Come on up." I walked up to the counter, she asked "What you need?" Still no eye contact. I informed her I needed to mail two letters and needed confirmation. She provided two options and I selected the certified mail. Still, zero eye contact. I paid $3.95 for each and told her to have a good day. She said bye....and then glanced at me for a second. Weird.

Caroline-m Holo: Honestly, everyone in this office is so rude and unhelpful, even when you are polite and just expect the same basic politeness in return. Not even talking about assistance cause this is non-existent. If you do need help, do yourself a favor, and just choose another post office.

United States Postal Service: what do users think?

Sarah Swatzburg: update: refused to accept another package today. complaint submitted on USPS again. Obviously nothing will come of consistent complaints. horrible customer service. Refused to take my pre-paid for flat rate box for an APO shipment claiming that they needed quadruplicate copies of the customs paperwork (that I filled out online). Completely disregards standard policies. Recommend going to Watergate where they are happy to take your package without some made-up rule to require quadruplicate copies of customs paperwork.

Meg Gupta: Horrible service. I went in there today the lady was rude and stated that I need to pay for one piece of tape to fully close my packet. Like really?? You will make me buy $4 tape instead of letting me use the one at your desk. I have been to other USPS stores and UPS stores for returns and never had to worry about bringing my own tape for a return. She clearly hates her job and life and should be fired. I left and walked the 15 mins to my local UPS. I’ll never being going to this place again. If you don’t want to get yelled at by a pathetic rude employee, skip this location.

yassmin eldouh: I tried to find a Usps to buy stamps and send my application and started following google maps till it led me into this really important looking building. I got in and someone was like Um who are you and I was like uhh is there a Usps here and they were like how did you get in did a security guard not stop you and I was like um no and they were like this is the US State Department you can’t enter without an ID

Mercedes Porsche: Not really happy with my services that were provided here. The lady behind the counter wasnt very helpful. She seemed annoyed that she had to take my box to ship out and didnt want to explain the services they provide. This is not a public post office.

Taylor Bryan: This is inside the state department and not open to the public. It shouldn’t be on the map.

Sangmi Park: This is located inside the state dept. not open to the public

Aleksandre Aleksishvili: Unprofessional rude and racist employee works in this post office

Terry Smith: It's non professional I went there to purchase a post office box. The clerk has a bad attitude.😵 I have not received any mail I polite ask her for the address to the post office or how should I address my mail (example) 2211 Rhode Island Ave NE or My Name with my PO Box She went off to say she doesn't know Very sad and she's older woman with a Getto attitude I'm transferring my box to Brentwood post office ASAP.

Lawrence Kier III: Come on Bro! This is the third time. Don’t go here mid day, no one is ever there and they’re never back at the time they say. It’s 2:20pm and they still aren’t back from a break. When they are here, the service is trash.

Ivan Torres: I went to pick up a package being held there at 11 am and 4 pm and they were closed both times but those are within the hours of operation. Very frustrating. I also haven't received any mail in over a week

Charlie Wood: This is consistently the worst post office that I have ever been to. It is dirty, often closer during business hours, and has very bad service.

Morgan Venzant: Very unprofessional environment. If there's a reason the postal service is failing, it's due to this establishment. I would rather travel further for better service.

Dave Krug: Thanks USPS for selling my email to a million different businesses who send me unwanted solicitation emails and spam. If you fill out a change of address, do not, I repeat do not give them your email address and agree to receive the welcome offers (coupons). Why is a government connected agency selling peoples emails? This is bs.

Na'Shawn Watts: Very unprofessional. Had a package sent there and now it’s no where to be found she sent me to another location and they know nothing about the item they told me go back I went back it was a old black lady brown skinned that couldn’t do anywhere but stand there and give me more numbers and addresses she said she saw a package there one day and she don’t know what happened to it she wouldn’t give me no answers she she didn’t look on the camera or anything like she was mentally challenged

Darrin Chase Sr.: Worst customer service ever ! The staff are so rude in here in particular the young lady with the dreads this morning. Very nonchalant and disrespectful.

Frances Hamilton: If a business is never open at 9:00am, it should change its posted hours>: - (

Bria Adams: I understand having a lunch break. But disappearing for hours after your lunch break is over is unacceptable.

Hner Zebari: Place doesn’t exist

Justin Edwards: Needs Better Signage...After walking around the block 1.5 times looking for an entrance, I finally read a comment that said enter through the Renaissance Hotel. I found NO signs indicating where to enter, and once I got in the hotel and went down two escalators, I had to return to the hotel lobby desk to ask where to go. After speaking with the rude receptionist who told me there is a sign on the next floor down the escalator, I proceeded to locate it. I landed on the next floor looked around, and saw no sign. That is, until I walked about 30 feet and saw an obscure handmade sign about 75 yards down a hallway (literally). See photos, hope they help you find it more quickly than I did.

Sallie Dehler: This post office no longer exists. Google, please remove it from maps, very frustrating.

Xevian: Horrible. It’s closed so long ago and I don’t know why it still shows up on google

Molly Purcell: This post office is no longer there and is now an Equinox. I have asked Google to remove this location.

Alexander Nowak: Permanently closed (3 years ago!)

Nathalie Zeitouni: This USPS office no longer exists. It closed down 3 years ago. Please do not go there.

Grant G.: I got a call, after their hours, from someone here. The phone stopped ringing as soon as I picked it up, I immediately went to google to check the number (which I do for all numbers I don’t recognize) and called them back within a minute of missing their call. No one answered, no one left a message. I left my own message, with my name and number explaining the situation. I’m so sick of USPS being so unprofessional.

Radar Ridgley: Excellent Post Office when they adhere to their posted operating hours. When not, it's a trip to overcrowded 20745 or 20032🙄

Jose Quinones: Never opens on time

mageguy86: No one seems to work there or at least pick up the phone/call back during the little hours that they are open.
