The Watergate Hotel: what do users think?

Catherine Misleh: Worst service I’ve had in a long time - possibly ever. This rating should be negative zero stars. My mother is visiting from out of town (very far away) and I had planned a nice day to include afternoon tea for the both of us as a special treat. We do not get time together very often. Imagine our surprise and disappointment when we arrived and the restaurant had no signs of life - closed without notice. I went to the concierge desk of the Watergate and was informed it had been closed days before with no explanation and that they were sorry but the reservation must have been made through a glitch in their system. The woman behind the counter was very nonchalant and not at all concerned, even when I showed her proof of my reservation. Funny since I received both an email and two text reminders asking me to confirm, and was also charged for a prepaid tea service. The Watergate staff did not offer any recompense, said I would have to resolve the charge to my card online, and to "try Georgetown” for something today. Absolutely unacceptable! I will not be returning and will make sure to recommend against it every time. I thought it would be fun to try, but there are plenty of better other and obviously better options in the area anyway. I should add there were a couple of other guests in front of us who seemed extremely distraught by poor service and their rooms not being ready, so overall I would say this establishment should be passed over in every respect.

Olivier Saint-Vincent: 100% recommended!! If you are looking for a 5 stars ⭐️ hôtel in DC, this is the one. It was perfectly located for us between Georgetown and the Mall (walking distance), and very quiet at the same time. Gym, pool, jacuzzi, library, breakfast are great. You can walk by the Potomac easily… and it’s one of the best rooftop in DC. The architecture is beautiful and bold. The staff is very attentive and always there to help. We can say that the new GM know how to make a stay unforgettable!!!

Adam Galazka: Absolutely stunning hotel. Amazing location by the Potomac River. Walking distance to many different stores and restaurants. Check in was great. Valet parking on site for $58 a night. Rooms are spacious and the most comfortable bed. Some rooms do have balconies with waterviews but they are a little dirty. When trying to call the front desk it took awhile for them to answer the phone. Besides a couple of those negative we would definitely come back.

A. H.: Disappointing experience this time around. I’ve stayed at this hotel a few times in the past, but recently it’s gone a little downhill. The mandatory valet parking definitely needs improvement, as the attendants take 20-30 minutes to retrieve or even park your car. They were not at all friendly, barely spoke English, and left my car reeking of weed or tobacco smoke. Absurdly expensive rates given the terrible service. A cheap motel could’ve handled valet parking better. Embarrassing! Room and location are great. Front desk staff are super friendly. But frankly the valet service was so consistently awful over three days, that I probably won’t return again (at least not with a car).

Preeti Dawane: While the staff was great, the hotel itself cannot call itself luxury by any stretch of the imagination. On our arrival to our rooms, our bedsheets were DIRTY WITH STAINS. I have stayed at 3 star hotels where I have NEVER encountered such an issue. For the prices they charge, the Watergate is absolutely not worth the stay. The only reason this hotel gets ANY stars is because of the staff who took care of us. I definitely don’t include all of the front desk staff in that praise. I also was never contacted about the issue with the sheets. I had to follow up about the issue. We also have not received our itemized bill following check out. I’ve really never been more disappointed with a “luxury” hotel than this one. I will NEVER stay here again. Such a rip off.

InterContinental Washington D.C. - The Wharf, an IHG Hotel: what do users think?

Kyle Lennon: Shout Out to Meredith, she is a gem and a half at this hotel! This property is very new and certainly a show stopper, I love the ultramodern design and the bathrooms were stunning. I also loved the balcony overlooking the river and walkways. The bar had great service and great personalities to accompany your cocktails while they served you. Top notch hotel and will certainly make this my preferred DC hotel!

Adrienne Messe: The staff at the InterContinental on the Wharf D.C. is all-round amazing. I am so happy we chose this venue for our recent event. Every member of their team is truly hospitable, and they are dedicated to every client’s success and every guest’s experience. The Sales and Event Managers were helpful/agile partners to us through multiple event date and contract changes, thanks Mayte & Alicia! The Banquet Director was dependable at every moment for our 3 day-event and made sure everything was executed to perfection, thanks George! The hosts at the front door/front desk helped all the guests in our room block have an easy and enjoyable stay for the duration of our event. Thanks to all for helping make our event a success!

Hope Poulsen: Pool is WAY smaller than pictures, we were all shocked at how small. The pool deck gave me and every single one of my friends splinters. And, there are only 5 lounge chairs for the entire pool. Staff is very friendly, but we had to ask for the same requests multiple times. So they seem a little disorganized. Room was very nice & clean and the location is perfect! I chose this rating because of the value - it’s not a terrible place to stay by any means, but you don’t get what you pay for. Not unreasonable to have high expectations when paying almost $500 a night, and this place did not meet those expectations.

The Jefferson, Washington, DC: what do users think?

Nick C: What an amazing experience staying at the Jefferson! My wife and I got away for a few days and to celebrate the NY! We were warmly welcomed from the first minute and upgraded to a wonderful suite for our stay. The room was amazingly comfortable with all the amenities expected of a 5 star property. Breakfast was top notch at the Greenhouse. To top it off the location was great for walking the city and seeing all DC has to offer! This place lives up to its reputation! Thanks to all of the staff!

Karen Koller: The Jefferson absolutely delivered a 5 star experience. The service was outstanding and all the little touches like a tv in my bathroom mirror or a stool for my purse went above and beyond what was expected. One of the best here. They have one of the best bar and restaurants I’ve had while staying in a hotel. The Quill and the Greenhouse had wonderful food and drinks ! Service was top notch. Every single staff member went above and beyond my expectation. A must if you are staying in DC ! So many amenities and extra touches.

Thomas Whitelock: It was a great stay from start to finish. The staff was very nice and friendly and tried to make sure we had everything we needed. When we walked up with our luggage the doorman ran out and gave us bottles of cold water, it was 96 degrees that day, it was appreciated. I drank 2 bottles before I was even checked in. One thing that stood out, my wife used the extra pillow from the closet the first night we were there. The next day, house keeping put out 2 extra pillows. That was a nice touch that they noticed and made a change. The slippers were an unexpected bonus. We had room service for breakfast during our stay, one thing, the food does come faster than the estimated wait time, so be ready. I loved the lemon ricotta pancakes. It sounds like an odd combination, it is not. I am not sure it is why I gained 3 pounds, but I am sure it did not help. There are 2 areas that need improvement. The toilet paper, it is not good, it just feels cheap. Also, there is no vent fan in the bathroom and it gets really steamy in there. One is an easy fix, the other not so much.

Raj: The lobby area, the rooms, the library, the books, incredible, impeccably inviting and beautifully laid out and designed. This is the Best hotel in DC without a doubt. Just had dinner, and oh boy, that was something else. Food for sure was amazing, but service, friendliness, and good natured cool warmth of the staff, a whole other level, Katie and John were my servers, honestly, no words. Jefferson hotel is for sure the Best!

Jonathan Holloway: Our 2-night stay was excellent. The service and amenities from the entire team was great. In the restaurant, we had wonderful service from Abdel and Jorge for brunch and John in the bar. Everyone was very welcoming and provided excellent service.

Mott U D’Potyou: I spent four nights recently. The property is recently remodeled and quite nice. The building is stately. I was told that I had been upgraded twice from my original booking. (I expressed a desire for a room in the front of the building and that led to the second upgrade.) The staff are over-the-top accommodating. They spoiled me with kindness and flattery. After a couple days I found myself refusing the constant offers of service or assistance. So why a three? Well a big turnoff was the restaurant. My “deal” included breakfast. Who wants to run out in the morning searching for something to eat? Besides the pre-remodel restaurant had a Michelin star! That restaurant is no longer there. Currently, breakfast toast costs four dollars (two slices wrapped in a blanket). A frozen bagel is $6. Frozen Belgian waffles are like $19 or $20. I paid $11 for an iced coffee in the bar. I mean the food is very ordinary and costs an arm and a leg. I was told by one of the receptionists that the hotel allows $60 something for these included breakfasts. I guess that includes your tip. To be fair all these “top tier” hotels practice highway robbery in their bars and restaurants, probably figuring that a lot of the patrons don’t want to go out searching for food and drink. Whatever the reason I hate it and feel like it’s abusive. I’m not poor; but, I really have a problem with four dollar toast and an eight dollar glass of juice. And the staff, I came away feeling that they felt enormous pressure to be perceived as pampering the guest. That made me feel creepy. All I ask is to be treated with some respect. Yet I left the Jefferson feeling like the staff would be glad I was gone. They could stop acting.

Schan McLaurin: Went to the Greenhouse for breakfast! Food was amazingly delicious!! Small portion but very tasty. I spent $80 for breakfast and My husband was still hungry.

Sue Swezeny: A beautiful place. Only went for a cocktail stop. The Dreamsicle is a must have. Sweet, refreshing, and a nice jolt of vitamin C in the citrus. Yum!

Lauren Fiabane: From the time we pulled in to the time we left, the people of the Jefferson were exceptional. Katie at the bar. Susan, the historian. Yolanda at reception. Simply above and beyond service, delivered with sincerity and passion for what they do.

St. Regis Bar: what do users think?

Aditya Karandikar: Drinks are good and they have some food as well. The ambiance is as one would expect at the St. Regis. Service is fine, no wow factor, and overall it’s a nice place for a drink and snack on the pricier side of things.

David Salcido: The ambiance is great but it was a little weird having a bunch of dogs in such a small place and the service was bad. Getting a seat is very difficult on a Friday night since it is so small. The service at the bar could have been better. We sat for a good 30 minutes in between drinks before we could get the bartender to come back. One of them was just doing dishes the whole time which was awkward.

Dennis Mema: Drinks were delicious, and charcuterie board was excellent, but was disappointed in the simplicity of our meals. Ordered sandwiches costing an average of $25 and got the same sandwich, if not worse, that I could order for a third the price at a dive bar down the street.

Robert Cardoni: Comfortable setting for drinks .. bring the checkbook - prices are high!

S Z: Great and delicious food, friendly service!

Surang Sa: The best bar ever I love to hangout with the people and lovely bartenders, she super nice and friendly with good drink I never ever had. I alway have a great time with this bar.

Susan FG: Bar and hotel are beautiful, service and drinks are fantastic as in previous visits. The bartender, Diego is awesome!

Sarah Gray: Love that they have clever non-alcoholic cocktails!

Hotel Madera: what do users think?

Chris Robbins: Excellent! The front desk staff, valet, and housekeepers were all extremely friendly and accommodating. My wife, dog and I recently stayed 4 nights and had a great time. Hotel was Very clean, spacious and modern. The balcony room is a must have in my opinion and it didn’t disappoint. The area is really nice and has plenty of walkable spots for food, coffee, etc. Firefly has an eclectic brunch menu and they have great bar tenders as well. The only negative I could possibly share would be the water pressure but with multiple settings for the shower it was fine. Overall I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking to have an amazing guest experience with a high standard for cleanliness in the nation’s capital.

Mollie Christou: This hotel was immaculate! My husband and I went down for New Years and it was spacious and comfortable in the room. Food at the Firefly was delicious during brunch and the staff was so sweet and helpful! E was the door man and valet and he was so nice and courteous! I plan on coming here in the future for all our adult get aways!

H P: The hotel staff was warm and accommodating. The hotel itself is beautiful, with high-end finishes and gorgeous scenery! The beds were very comfortable and the shower was so nice. We enjoyed and made use of the desk and chair. And the best part was the access to chrome cast!! So, we got to watch a couple of our favorite shows :) And finally, when the valet had a little incident while bringing our car around, the hotel manager removed our parking charges as compensation for the incident. So, we were grateful for that. On our second night we were next to a group of rowdy young adults. They were so loud for so long, that we had a hard time enjoying ourselves. I just wished the walls were better sound-proofed at that moment. Finally, the valet unfortunately accrued a ticket on the car for a minor moving violation, which of course the hotel offered to cover, but we were worried about having points assessed to the car. Incidents like this happen in a city, so we understood. And the hotel staff graciously, removed the costs of parking, which we appreciated. All-in-all we enjoyed our stay and would stay again. The customer service alone is worth it to me!

Donna Bates: Recently stayed at Hotel Madera and had a great time celebrating our anniversary with my hubby. The room was modern, big and comfortable. The staff was amazing especially ICE and Deja. These two ladies were very attentive to our needs and definitely love what they are doing. Kudos to them and for the excellent customer service. Looking forward to our next visit.

Lynn Capella: I had a wonderful 2 night stay at Hotel Madera. The hotel is in a perfect location and close to the metro and fantastic restaurants. The staff was welcoming from the minute I checked in until the minute I checked out. The hotel itself is extremely clean and room was large, stylish and comfortable. I would highly recommend staying here and hope I can visit there again in the future.

Jennifer Whitson: Loved this hotel! Very clean, large rooms and bathrooms, great location not too far from metro, friendly staff who always welcomed us as we came back “home”, comfortable beds, and quiet. We will definitely choose Hotel Madera when we return to D.C.

peter burnett: Great location. Wonderful staff. Noisy. The balcony sliding glass doors aren’t good quality and not adequate to stop noise even on the 8th floor. Traffic (overnight motorcycle/dirt bike noise and sirens) kept us up for two nights.

Beacon Bar & Grill: what do users think?

Renita S.: Brunch is always good here. Lots of food selections and bottomless mimosas. They serve Lavazza coffee and the staff is nice and friendly!! Valet parking is a bit pricy at $20 and a reservation is recommended.

Spencer Williams: always enjoy brunch at the beacon hotel.....the food is amazing and always a variety of fresh delicious foods and dessert ...🤗😁 ...

Donalia Clay: Their brunch is to die for! But their dinner menu is great also. The decor is so elegant and relaxing. Parking is impossible so Uber there.

michael gilliam: Wanted to see the views but it was raining, young lady tending the bar today was great. She gave me great food choices, I was pleased!!!!

Norman M. Wereley: Ordered crab cakes, fries and hazelnut chocolate torte. All were very good. Service was excellent.

Queen Mercy Teasley: Great veggie burger, tastes like the #BeyondBurger patty. Tender, flavorful & juicy! 😋

Harriet's: what do users think?

Delaney B: i personally loved this restaurant! not only did it look like it was designed in the 1800’s, the bathroom ceiling was also dripping! i enjoyed the overcooked spaghetti and the salad that was more crunchy than my dead grandpas left foot. the pink lemonade tasted like water, and i don’t think anyone has ever cleaned the floors! definitely go to harriet’s for a musty, humid, and absolutely dog water meal!

Sun Tzu: The food was so good, that after I finished eating, gained spectacular super powers, and when I got home, my girlfriend was sitting on my bed and was looking dead in my eyes, with a face looking like she wanted it. Then all of a sudden, a group of evil ninjas busted a hole through the wall, and kidnapped her. So I tracked them down using the powers I gained from the garlic bread and I managed to defeat the biggest baddest villain of the local mafia using my acrobatic skills that I got from the sprite there. 10/10 would recommend this restaurant.

Wondertom6 26: Someone I knew bravely tried the brown meat, he couldn’t hold it down and then a sever with no shoes took his plate. The bathroom situation was below expectations, even though I had already read the reviews and came in expecting the worst. I think their were roaches. Not to forget the ketchup with a date of 20 years ago. I was actively celebrating when I heard we didn’t have to go back, thankful I would have the possibly of actually eating on my school field trip. Please avoid, I already feel infections forming in my stomach

Richard Pyle: We stayed at the hotel Harrington and thought we would have a nice family breakfast. The coffee was cold, and table service meant you had to get your own coffee because the staff was too busy. The omelet was slimy and arrived with sausage instead of salsa because of language barrier. Overall, poor food and service.

Josh Reidy: This place was terrible my tamato had mold there was a daddy long legs on my spaghetti I have pictures to prove this there coke was white not even Vanilla Coke is white do not eat here they don’t care I have a grasshopper in my cake

Kimberly Marshall: Once we sat down at 9:30am. We were told it was buffet only because they had a big party coming in. Buffet was hotel continental breakfast at its worst. Over $40 spent and the only thing edible was a banana.

Jenny Nguyen: Breakfast cost a good buck but worth every dime! From the fresh fruit to the made to order omelettes, you will feel like royalty here.

Ishmael Msiza: This is a very nice restaurant, with excellent service, situated within the Renaissance hotel in Chinatown, Washington DC. During my stay at the hotel, I used to enjoy my daily breakfast at this restaurant. They make different sorts of appetizing eggs and their orange juice is great!

Todd Green: Good food with an all you can eat breakfast buffet which includes breakfast drinks. Good and friendly staff.

Kelly Madden: For a 25 dollar buffet not much to choose from

Stone's Throw Restaurant and Bar: what do users think?

Anthony Sugiharto: Great service with a nice, comfortable, quiet atmosphere. The waiter was very calm, polite, and professional when handling other highly demanding and upset customer. Steak was perfectly cooked, delicious risotto, and very nice truffle fries. Reasonably priced for a hotel restaurant - might be rather expensive compared to surrounding restaurants. However, there was no host ready to greet and seat us when we came. Food took 35 minutes to cook - slightly longer than I expected. Waiter didn’t check on us after the food came out. But overall, it’s worth the price and very convenient for Marriott hotel guests.

Rachel Hunter: I came here for breakfast and enjoyed the food, but thought the prices were too steep. Two orders of eggs Benedict, two coffees, and one orange juice was $60. All food was tasty, but the coffee tasted like gas station coffee. I expected better.

Ian Grant Spong: Food is good. Portions are large. Wait staff is polite. City prices. Pleasant atmosphere.

Luke Holsapple: Food was decent. Service was terrible. Took almost 20 minutes to get a glass of water. And prices were out of sight. Cost us $60 for two breakfast sandwiches with hash browns and coffee. Will not be going back!!

Robert Bolar: Decent food here, but if your all the way to Washington DC go out and eat! Some of the greatest food in the world is here in Washington DC. The atmosphere here seems a little outdated and the lighting is not that great. I dont like to feel rushed when ordering and I felt rushed here.

Bradley Fuller: Place is a mess. The beer coolers are just bottles and cans thrown in the bottom of the cooler still in there plastic rings Food was good but very limited menu.

Jim Dwyer: Poor service for the breakfast Buffett. The price was very high as well. $24 for Buffett and coffee. The only redeeming quality was the lady making omelets was the nicest person

Stephen Tatasciore: Good did and service inside the Marriott hotel. The prices are extremely high and better food is available just across the street.

白君德: Cool place to sit and lounge and run into people during a conference. Nice central location in the hotel.

The Georgetown Inn: what do users think?

Betty Gedman: A lovely old hotel in a great location. The restaurant adjoining the hotel offers a nice breakfast, but dinner is unfortunately unpleasant since the very active bar with loud music and conversations is in the same area. Parking is provided which is a real plus since on street parking has been eliminated to provide outdoor dining areas. The room was comfortable, but they could use a face lift (patched wallpaper, shredded curtains)

BPH Interiors: Loved the charm, location, size, and price of the rooms. Dated isn’t a huge deal but our faucet had a leak that made it spray all over and other little things that just need some maintenance for proper order but we would definitely stay again.

JL Vuillemin: This probably my worst stay in a US hotel. this hotel is absolutelynperfect if you don’t need any service and if you like to stay in a never cleaned room. In 5 days stay they refuse to make my room because their employee refused to enter in the customer rooms..they also remone fridge, working coffee machine and all convenient stuff if the rooms. 1 small shampoo bottle for 5 days… and don’t try to ask any service like a single coffee the morning.. nothing is possible.. Definitively to avoid…

Ahmad Malik: Excellent place - friendly staff - prompt response on everything. Conveniently located so many things close by. The 1310 restaurant at lobby level is also great. We loved our stay and plan to stay here many more times in the future as well. Well done guys 👍👍🎉🎉

Nicholas Weise: This is objectively one of the best hotels in DC. The history and location is amazing. The rooms were spacious had some modern amenities. However, there were some issues. Firstly, some of the staff weren’t very friendly. Also, the shower was scalding hot and the temperature could not be changed. Body wash was not provided. Overall a great hotel but somethings were overlooked.

Kingbird: what do users think?

Alvaro H. Torres: Exceptional customer service. One of the best French toast I had. Luckily for me, I had two days to try as much breakfast meal. I highly recommend it and it exceeded my expectations. The price is high but you are paying for great quality. After your breakfast you can take a stroll at the water front. I think this is a great selection and you will not be disappointed.

Sydni Hagens: The waitstaff was lovely. Nothing bad to say there, but the afternoon tea left much to be desired. My friend and I have been to many teas around the world and always enjoy trying new ones. This is not an afternoon tea I would recommend to anyone else. The black tea was more gray (like a decaf twinings) and tasted like watery milk. The sandwiches were very basic (although they graciously accommodated a vegetarian request for one of us). The scone tasted like a blueberry muffin, and not like a scone at all. The crepe brûlée was watery and not brûlée’d. Ambiance in the restaurant was awkward and the tables and chairs reminded us of office furniture. The tea service looked like a child’s tea set. This is very overpriced for what it offered. Again, nothing against the staff, just not a good afternoon tea in our opinion. Others in the place raved about it, but we’ve just had so many wonderful afternoon teas, and this wasn’t one of them.

Adam Galazka: Tried the restaurant for a dinner one night and couple of breakfasts while staying at the watergate. Not quite a 5 star experience. For dinner the food was well seasoned but the temperature was luke warm. Not quite what we expected. Service was great. For breakfast, service was great and very fast but again latte was very luke warm. They made it up the 2nd time around. We will definitely come back at some point to give them another try.

Katie Cahill: Made a reservation for a large group (15) for lunch. What a disappointment. The waiter was the only positive part of the experience. Waited for more than an hour for our food, many of which were salads and soup of the day. The salads were wilted, the soup so salty it was nearly inedible, the burgers cooked to death (even though medium was ordered), and the salmon was marginal at best. Being practical, most of us made an attempt to finish our food as to not waste, but terrible. What was worse is the place was nearly empty with only a few other tables occupied. A waste of what was supposed to be a nice lunch at a historic venue.

Viviana Shanks: If you are staying at the Watergate (or just considering eating there) avoid at all costs, for breakfast or dinner. The restaurant looked nice and fancy, so we decided to give it a shot! What a disappointment. A HUGE comedy of errors. Our starter took 20min to arrive. Which ok is fine... they probably made it from scratch? We ordered the chicken (that would comes with purée) and scallops. It took 35 min after the starter for our main courses to arrive. Meaning, almost an hour after we ordered it! My chicken came with French fries, to which I was told that they ran out of purée, but no one thought it was wise to inform me before the meal arrived. - they tried to make it right by giving me ratatouille and broccoli. I started eating, my chicken was not baked, but yes boiled a couple or more days ago. They probably put it on the microwave as the chicken was stone cold on the inside. When I point that out, I’m told « they were probably waiting for the scallops to be ready » doesn’t excuse it. They took my chicken away for an extra 10min to warm it up. Same thing, still cold but I went with it. Our waiter took it out the bill, but the entire experience was miserable. Table next to us had a 21st birthday, and same, they almost all ordered the chicken too and they left the restaurant with their plates untouched. So my case was not isolated. To make the matter worse, the next morning we head there to have breakfast, we are rudely told that there is a 45min wait for breakfast. We look inside the restaurant and it’s half empty, and is a buffet. They apparently couldn’t manage to turn around the few tables they were seri I quickly enough. Pro tip, room service is way quicker. They should seriously think of changing chefs as I feel we were lied to. Would definitely stay back at the hotel but NOT go back to the restaurant.

Alex Holston: The best place to have dinner before a show at the Kennedy Center. I go back all the time. The cocktails are my favorite part, as well as the priced fix menu.

mingyue Liu: I’m from Boston. I checked online and try to find a good place to eat breakfast. And I’m kinda disappointed because the food was less and cold. And didn’t filled up when the tray was empty. The tea and coffee u need ask for. This buffet cost 25/per person and will charge 18% tips. I didn’t feel happy about that. Not good breakfast choice.

TRS- Private: It’s hard to write the review for this place. The service was not bad, in fact the team were all extremely professional and very pleasant. However, it was tediously slow, despite an abundance of staff. It’s almost like there are too many people working here, I’ve seen Denny’s wait staff handle 10 times the number of customers and do so 10 times more efficiently. It is a shame because it does detract from the experience. It’s just docile here. Like many of the other reviews about the food, Ours was excellent but the portions were pitifully small. I happen to like small portions but here they have taken the philosophy to a ludicrous level. And given the prices, it’s hard to leave satisfied. As I say, it’s hard to write this review without being influenced by all the factors. The food is good, you just have to order a little more than you normally would, the service is good, if you are patient and the ambiance is lovely. I would certainly recommend this place, but with strong caveats of these factors. If wonky management would take note of the consistent reviews of this nature and just make things a little more snappy and up the portion sizes by a few percentage points. Then Kingbird would be a top venue in Washington which definitely needs more options like this, especially over in this part of town.

Juniper Restaurant: what do users think?

Gailen David: Had a great meal, served family style, with a group of friends at Juniper and everything was delicious - corn bread skillet, sides, striped bass, herb roasted chicken, NY strip, scallops, crab cakes, steak tartar, and the snickers dessert! Planning a return visit. Tip: meet for cocktails in the courtyard patio before dinner!

Always 5 Star: The Juniper Restaurant located in the luxurious Fairmont Hotel in Georgetown is a restaurant that you will want to try. I especially enjoyed having lunch there and tasting the seasonal menu while dining in a lovely courtyard setting. Be sure and order the cast iron skillet bread. Tip: As soon as it comes to the tabletop it with the amazing butter and honey. The honey is sourced on-site and it is a decadent delight! Weather permitting - the courtyard is a fabulous place to dine!

Karoline Langpap: Service was outstanding. On a Saturday night, the restaurant was quiet. It is situated inside the lovely Fairmont Hotel.

terry holman: Service 3 stars- rarely came back to check on us. Had to leave the table twice to request items. Steak and eggs 4 stars- steak was great, one egg over done, one egg under done. Not sure how they accomplished that. Smoked pastrami hash 4 stars- meh, needed tabasco to have any flavor, mushy texture. Looked like canned hash does. Omelette 4 stars- over done and dry, but looked nice! Biscuits and gravy 5 stars- guys flavor, favorite of the day. Best part was the bagel

K Nguyen: Ambiance was hotel generic. I think I should have moved on and not ordered after receiving brown lemon and lime wedges with my sparkling water. And not brown on the skin. I am talking brown on the inside. Food was extremely overpriced for the quality. Extremely! Chicken Caesar was dry and chewy. For a $22 salad it should have wowed me….but no. Hamburger was overcooked and greasy. Can you believe we ate it all because the final price along with two drinks and bread came to almost $110? That’s too high a price for me to just leave behind. I used OpenTable to book a 1:30 reservation. Upon arrival I was informed the kitchen would be closing at 2:00pm. I am not sure why there would be a booking available at that time (there was a 1:45 as well) if your average order and eat process at a sit down restaurant usually takes longer than 30 min. With thoroughly rushing every step of the way through our lunch, we were out the door approximately 2:05pm. Of course that was easy with our two servers reminding us at regular intervals (about 7) that they were closing at 2pm. I understand everyone works hard in a restaurant and closing time is closing time….but is it a smart move to offer seating times that make dining impossible to complete by close? Perhaps they should try closing seating at 1:00pm or 1:15pm? I don’t know what a good solution is for them. But I do know that I had my first meal in my life where my presence felt unwanted for simply booking a time that was offered by the OpenTable app. No mater where I have gone in DC, I have almost always felt I was getting for what I have payed. Be it ambiance, product, or service. This place lacked all three.

The Greenhouse: what do users think?

Melissa Luke: The food is great, but the experience is what wow’d me the most! Wonderful ambiance, very cozy and not pretentious, and they give you a tiny upholstered foot stool for your purse!! We had tons of fun.

Miguel Curiel: Elegant experience, tasty food. Went in for brunch and place is 1) more beautiful than expected and 2) cheaper than expected. Great pick if you want to go have a nice talk + meal in somewhere iconic, fancy and affordable. Highly recommended that you reserve beforehand.

Mark Blanchard: Delicious brunch and beautiful restaurant. Classy high end touches all around.

Caitlyn George: Extremely accommodating. We walked here with the kids from our hotel excited to try a new restaurant. We were pleasantly surprised with how kind the staff were to squeeze us in. We will absolutely be sure to make reservations next time now that we know. The staff were friendly and offered special surprises for the kids upon sitting. Made them feel so special. This is a brunch that makes you feel upscale and special. The beakfast foods and drinks are highest quality, beautifully presented and absolutely delicious. We enjoyed every moment and will absolutely return! The kids loved it and enjoyed feeling fancy for the morning and insist that we go back.

G Dalmeida: A return to quiet elegance... The Greenhouse is fine dining for Brunch or Lunch. It felt so nice to enjoy a brunch that wasn’t rushed, or had me waiting 45+minutes to be seated. From the fine China to the very attentive staff and quiet ambiance The Greenhouse at the Jefferson Hotel will briefly make you feel as though you aren’t in Washington, DC but maybe a lovely summer home of a friend overlooking the river. The meal I selected was rather simple and traditional waffles with fresh fruit. They were prepared well not too crunch and definitely not to soft. Too much cream butter and a glaze over the strawberries were the only things I found lacking. But everything else was just perfect . Plenty of hot coffee served in slightly larger cups and a beautiful table sitting. I would recommend The Greenhouse to anyone who appreciates a slightly old school style dining experience. It made me glad I was up on all things Emily Post. (aka dining etiquette).

Aditya Parikh: Lunch… Food: ***, Service: ****, Ambiance: *****, Value: **. Nice environment, but I won’t be back for lunch. It just isn’t good enough to justify the price when there are better establishments in DC. Might try dinner or breakfast sometime to give them a fair shot.

Sheneze Jones: Good food and great service!

Fairmont Washington D.C. Georgetown: what do users think?

Iris Savoy: I went to the hotel to attend a luncheon. Everything was done professionally from the Valet to entrance into the hotel. It was clean and inviting. We were escorted to reception area, check in, and inside to the venue with professionalism from the staff. The food was excellent and presented it in order. They catered to every need that we had from a coffee, more utensils, to food options they provide. I will return.

Steph Dobson: Beautiful, well-maintained hotel. Safe and convenient location in Georgetown, about a 10-minute walk to both the Foggy Bottom and Dupont metro stops. Friendly staff and clean, quiet rooms. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will keep in mind next time we visit DC! If you are driving, just make sure to budget for the overnight valet parking.

dionne davis: Customer service was great.. Room was awesome. The ambiance of this hotel is great for wedding. The only thing I did not care for was the chicken sausage at breakfast. Close to Rock Park

Carey Kokkonen: The hotel is lovely, clean, and fancy shmancy, but what really makes it great are the people that work there. Everyone was kind and genuine. Above that, the hotel is pet friendly AND located next to a large dog park! The location is pretty and perfectly situated — walking distance to DuPont Circle & Foggy Bottom and to Georgetown. There are enough walkable restos and coffee shops (Das Ethiopian and Bread & Chocolate are faves worth mentioning) as well as pharmacies, groceries, etc., however, walking out of the hotel, you’re not hit with a busy street and gobs of traffic. We quite enjoyed our stay and look forward to our next visit!

Tabard Inn: what do users think?

Stacey Gopalakrishnan: Went twice in one weekend. A fun eclectic spot, suggest a reservation but not always required. I had the corned Beef Hash and my husband had the Shrimp and Grits. Fresh made donuts topped off a great brunch. We cannot wait for our next visit to DC to stop by our favorite brunch spot 😍.

Cheri Brooks: This is a charming hotel that I’ve stayed at many times. It’s kind of shabby chic and homey. Lovely sitting room. Great location. Staff is very nice. The restaurant is having some issues and seems to be disconnected from hotel. The staff there is also a bit rude. It’s too bad because it used to be a very good restaurant.

Timothy Suda: Hotel experience started out great…..for one night. The hotel is very quaint and quiet. The rooms are comfortable and each one unique. The buildings history alone is enough to make the stay interesting. We came to enjoy our anniversary weekend. However, they are so focused on making a quick buck that they don’t really care about their other clients. Our second night there, we got back to our room after 9pm and found a letter that was slipped under our door that said the restaurant was closed that evening due to a private event. No further information. As we settled in our room we noticed music playing from the event. The music steadily got louder and became more explicit as the night wore on. At 11:30pm we called the front desk who said there was nothing they could do and no managers to talk to. They offered a different room but the music was so loud you could hear it on the street (we went outside to check). They apologized for “the inconvenience” and that they were sorry that the other group had “planned ahead.” They told us there was a “hard stop at 1am” and they they were suffering too. This was totally disrespectful to those of us staying who were not affiliated with the party. There were so many opportunities to give us a heads up…when we made the reservation, when we checked in, when we had brunch in the hotel that morning, when we left the building for the day, or calling us at some point. Even putting a note in the letter about the restaurant closing would’ve been better than nothing. Instead they just expect us to stuffer and lose sleep because of their greed. But couldn’t be bothered to have a night manager on duty for this. There is a nice new Courtyard by Marriott next door that we should’ve stayed at. Less character sure but better treatment.

A “Kush” D: Its a pretty unique place to stay at. It more of home away from home. Its like renting a room in a house. Everything is provided except There is no TV which you does not matter because you are not visiting DC to watch TV i hope. Its a different experience if i had to describe the feeling i guess you could say it puts you in time when things were simpler and lived with just the things you need

Kelly Burdulis: Tabard Inn is a hidden gem. The room didn’t have a TV or fridge, but what it lacked in electronics it more than made up in charm and warmth. Bed was super comfy, bathroom was spacious, love that it has a soaking tub. Gabriel at the front desk was very hospitable, and kindly held our bags while we visited the monuments, and even went above and beyond to have our bags waiting in the room for us upon our return. For the price and location, you can’t find a better stay.

Samantha Wall: Tabard Inn has been one of my favorite brunch places since moving to DC. Their shrimp and grits, and the cream cheese eggs are amazing. I had my wedding reception brunch there this past weekend and it was a perfect celebration!

Rosewood Washington, D.C.: what do users think?

C. Pine: Best hotel in Georgetown. I love the charm of this hotel right in the heart of everything. The friendliest staff and impeccable service and luxurious accommodations while steps away from shopping and more dining options. The library/reception area is a cozy and elegant pace for a nightcap or to lounge. The rooftop offers a fantastic view of the cityscape and is a great for private functions or if you need a peaceful place to hang out.

Shana Acquisto (Luxury Realtor): Stopped in for a drink on the rooftop. Beautiful atmosphere. Drinks were pricey and honestly a bit too much sugar for our liking but some may prefer that. Very friendly staff once we got up to the rooftop and great service.

Tania Ferguson: The Rosewood DC is remarkably disappointing. More expensive than comparable rooms at the Ritz or Four Seasons, there are essentially no luxury amenities. The pool is the size of two hot tubs. Sadly, Cut the restaurant had a kitchen fire and therefore there is no way to get anything to eat at the hotel. I had to go grocery shopping. They did not offer any discount for this inconvenience. The did make the minibar complementary except for liquor….and there is essentially nothing to eat in the minibar. The room is incredibly small and the bathroom hard to manage in its size. The “partial canal view” is just a brick wall. One must stand to look out the window if water is to be seen-and only then with great focus. More accurately this is a brick wall view. There is no spa, the fitness facility is smaller than a bathroom with no modern equipment in it except a single peleton bike with bad pedals. The fitness facility is a really big disappointment-I’ve had to find a gym to go work out at. So I’ve had to leave the premises for food, workout, spa services….It’s a travesty to the Rosewood brand. They should close the hotel and renovate, modernize-or drop the prices to reflect the current facade.

Andrew Carmichael: Amazing hotel experience in a wonderful part of DC. It’s a smaller hotel that does a stellar job of balancing the finesse of a larger hotel with the intimacy of a boutique one. The team remembers everyone’s name and does to whatever they can to make your stay a memorable one.

Mohsen: Enjoyed one week of stay at this hotel. Everything was perfect and felt personal. Fantastic staff.

Mandy Jacqueline: The Lobby Bar in the Rosewood was amazing. Great service and wonderful drinks if you’re looking for high-class

Lisa Morin: This lovely, small hotel was well located in Georgetown. The room was nice, quiet and the bed was very comfortable. The service from all staff was exceptional. They attended to every detail to make our stay a great one!

Derrick Hoefsloot: Exquisite rooms, personalized service, excellent food, fantastic rooftop bar. Notable highlights include the front desk staff and Giovanni the rooftop bartender who remembered my wife’s favorite wine from a previous stay. Superb location, tons of nearby dining, shopping, the canal, and river walk. You will love it at the Rosewood Georgetown.

Kelly Smith: Great hotel. Near everything in Georgetown. Service is amazing. Nicest place in the area.

The Lafayette: what do users think?

Laura Xu Chen: Second time back in DC for a weekend and we are in Hay Adams again after 10 years. The food never disappoints and in fact everything was superb! Rack of lamb and Crab gnocchi were excellent. You have to order the soufflé! The ambiance was fine dining yet the wait staff are so warm and pleasant! We stayed for a 3 hour dinner and it was a beautiful and elegant experience

Adam Galazka: Amazing restaurant located in the Hay Adams hotel. Reservations were done via Google and confirmed by the restaurant a couple days in advance. Table was ready 45 minutes in advance. Their customer service from initial greeting through the whole dinner was amazing. Very good wine menu and you also have a cocktail menu as well. We tried a mushroom soup and octopus for appetizers. Ordered chicken breast and bronzini for main course. For our dessert we had creme Brule. Everything was amazing and tasty. We will definitely come back.

波。真秀ᶘ oᴥoᶅ: We went to the Lafayette for breakfast. Our waiter, Emmanuel, was extremely friendly, humorous and attentive. The French Toast came with hot maple syrup and the Lafayette Eggs Royale were accompanied by hollandaise sauce, which blended well with the rich salmon and eggs.

Shawni McGraw: We decided on this restaurant to celebrate our 27th wedding anniversary because of the spectacular views and ambience. When we found out that the view we were seeking was not available, the manager went above and beyond to get a private tour of just that view. He wanted our day to be special and he did just that. The food was fabulous and everyone is so customer focused. The mood was romantic with the live piano player and decor. I highly recommend this restaurant for your special day.

CRPARK LLC: Fine dining at its best. After graduation dinner with great down town DC vibe. Service was superior and the environment, on point.

Jenovie Yoka: The food was really good and tasty. The prices are also fair but I did not like the service at all. Furthermore, it was simply awful! The servers that had us that night( a man and a lady) were just not professional and welcoming at all. The were working like they were forced to take care of us. We reserved the private room for a special occasion (my sister engagement) and those two servers made us have a very bad experience. Especially the lady when it can to the moment to pay the restaurant bill. In the other hand the meals and the drinks were simply amazing!

Michael O'Reilly: **FUTURE VISITORS: THEY NO LONGER DO ROOFTOP DINING** This is a fantastic restaurant in a fantastic hotel, but they no longer do anything on the roof. The roof is now reserved for events and such, which is truly disappointing. What’s the point in going anymore? The ambience of the restaurant is nice, but not nice enough to justify going. The food is great, but there are better, cheaper options throughout DC. It is all fairly expensive as well, and for what? One of the main reasons to go was for the wonderful view, but if I no longer have access to that, then the Lafayette is no longer a #1 choice.

Stacy: Good but too expensive. The servers were all so friendly and helpful. It was unbelievably fancy. You are clearly paying for the experience.

Eduardo Rukos: Beautiful & very well executed French inspired menu with a lot of highlights. The staff was amazing and the desserts are pieces of art.

Mark Blanchard: Hands down the most beautiful venue in DC (at least when it was up on the top floor through the pandemic). Great food, great view from the top floor, and friendly staff.

Anthem: what do users think?

Nicole Katsikides: The food here is great, and the service is always fantastic. As a Baltimorean, I won’t eat a crab cake outside of Maryland’s borders except here. Their crab cake is perfect. I’ve never been disappointed with this restaurant. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner, all great!!!

Hande Küçük: It was alright, nothing special. They had coffee on the table and charged us each $7 for coffee, which I thought was outrageous. Its location is quite convenient if you are staying at the Marriott or just going across the convention center.

Karen Zachary: We were seated for fifteen minutes before anyone took our order. The coffee was remarkably terrible. The food was mediocre and expensive. Then we couldn’t get the check. Shockingly terrible experience. And so LOUD! Awful.

Christopher Obrien: I had the omelet with hashbrowns. Food was hot and fresh. Solid convient place for breakfast. I did not try the lunch or dinner items.

Tobin Bennett-Gold: The food was great, and the service was good. For a hotel restaurant I was expecting higher prices, but the menu was very affordable. I needed to have a quick lunch with a colleague and then get to the airport, and the fast service and convenient location were exactly what I needed-- and Anthem did that with without sacrificing quality or gouging my wallet. The atmosphere was good too - very easy to have a conversation when when the restaurant was full.

abdelilah el hassani: The main restaurant of the Marriott Marquis in Washington DC. The breakfast was great, the service outstanding and the Spanish Omelette very delicious. The staff was very kind, smiling and professional. The inside decoration and the lighting of the restaurant were also very successful. Definitely recommend it as well for dinner.

Aaron Westervelt: Avocado toast was consistently delicious. Hashbrowns were superb and crispy. Staff was extremely polite and accommodating. Coffee was ridiculously overpriced however ($7) and took away from an otherwise 5 star experience.

Mehdi Zare: Food was great and hosts were nice.

Robert's Restaurant: what do users think?

Tori Lorvig: Nothing outwardly wrong, although the food is certainly outshined by the decor. Their salads are their strength, the soup was a bit bland and the ravioli had powdered rather than grated parmesan. The bread is delicious, but served with cold butter. The fruit tarte is nice, although the serving is enormous.

Tom Kunsman: Bit overpriced menu. Special request was not fulfilled, and was given incorrect bill st dinner. The space is incredible

Savannah Slone: My mom and I ate here while staying in Omni. We approached the host stand and weren’t greeted, so we weren’t sure if we were supposed to seat ourselves. We picked up a menu to see what they had, then we were approached by a male server who asked if we needed a table. We told him yes, so he took the menus from us and sat us. Nice area, very pretty, there’s an option to sit outside as well. We were given water and a few minutes to figure out what we wanted. After a little bit, he came back and took our order. About 10-15 mins later our food was brought out by different server. We ate, it was pretty good. Then we sat for about 10-15 minutes after finishing out food until we could track the new server down for our check. Overall not a good experience, service was bad. We were never greeted, or simply told hello. The first server was rude and disappeared and we never saw him again. The second server was again rude, not personable at all. She never asked us how our meal was or anything. Food was good but wouldn’t go back. For such a nice hotel, I would expect better service.

Ryan Wegman: The staff is very courteous and the Federalist setting, as a historically protected landmark for DC, really stands out when you have the chance to sit in the dining room and take in the frescoes and surrounding touches. Salmon salad nicois was delicious! Brunch is a whole other experience you must try!

Nizar Farsakh: A gorgeous space with an antique feel to it. Beautiful tables and wall paintings, but the food is hit-and-miss. The first time I ate there it was exquisite the second time it was pretty bad. And that was within 2 days

Alayna Poe: Amazing food, elegant atmosphere, pricey but worth it
