Holiday Inn Washington Capitol - Natl Mall, an IHG Hotel: what do users think?

Wei Y: My recent experience at the hotel in mid March was quite pleasant. The room was clean, decor was fairly up-to-date, beds were comfortable (subjectively), and the bathroom was fairly well maintained. The staff were very accommodating and friendly, this includes the cleaning crew (on the 8th floor) who would give you anything you asked for. The pandemic is not over yet, so I liked the idea of not having staff coming in every day. People complaint about the thin wall, water pressure and the train. I did experience all of the above. The thin wall didn’t bother me that much, it’s usually due to loud neighbors. For the water pressure, I just waited for the others to finish their use then take my turn, the place was packed at the time and everyone was taking shower at the same time. As for the train, the hotel unfortunately situated right next to the track so unless you are a heavy sleeper, the noises could bother some of the guests on the east side. We ended up switching to the other side and it was great! The food at the restaurant downstairs was also surprising. The taste and the price were comparable to the nearby places, if not cheaper. A Starbucks was also attached to the hotel but they do close somewhat early. As for the parking, we didn’t have a car, but once I parked at a hotel in downtown Chicago, it was over $100 a night. All in all, we enjoyed our stay and will stay again for sure!
Response: Wei Y, thank you for staying with us and taking the time to share your experience and feedback with us. We hope to see you again.

M B: This was our first time staying at this hotel and it completely served its purpose. First the location - it is across the street from the department of Education and one block from the Air & Space Museum. There is a Starbucks on the corner of the hotel and several restaurants on the same block including a McDonalds. This hotel has a parking garage under it making parking very convenient. Parking fee is charged by the hotel per day and we had in and out privileges throughout our stay. There are two restaurants inside the hotel and a small convenience store next to the front desk. The lobby is more upscale than I thought it would be and staff was nice. We got into our room the first night later in the evening and our AC wasn’t working. We called the front desk and within minutes, a maintenance worker was at our door. He changed out the wall thermostat which didn’t resolve the issue and called for assistance to bring a new AC unit. They changed that out within minutes and discovered that there must be a wiring challenge that would take more time to resolve. They contacted the front desk, got us a new room and they walked it to make sure it was in perfect working condition before bringing us the new key cards. They offered to help us move but we were fine getting ourselves to the new room. This was the only challenge we experienced during our stay and these two maintenance technicians were absolutely wonderful. We forgot to get their names but they were on duty Friday, May 20, 2022 in the late evening. Nothing is a short walk in Washington DC as buildings are huge and the distance is deceiving. Every day we walked more than 7 miles and at the end of each day I walked back to the hotel to pick up the car to pick up my Mom to keep her from having to walk back. All throughout Washington DC, there are bicycles and electric scooters available to rent electronically on the spot to make the walking shorter and to get places quicker. We didn’t use them this time but they are a great benefit if needed. We did not eat in the hotel, but it is wonderful that the restaurants were there if we wanted to. This is a pretty perfect hotel to stay in when visiting Washington DC and we will most likely stay here on our next visit and recommend that you consider it as well. We didn’t take photos of the hotel, but it was very nice, clean, comfortable beds and we felt safe.
Response: M B, thank you for choosing to be our guest. We appreciate your feedback and are delighted to know that you had a great stay. We appreciate your feedback and will be sure to share your comments and feedback with the team. We hope to see you again, next time you are in the area.

Hyatt Place Washington Dc/Us Capitol: what do users think?

Melanie Brown: Hotel is nice, breakfast is good, everything was clean and well stocked. Giving 5 stars because the staff is exceptional! Above and beyond meeting every need and SUPER friendly! Another bonus is the cold water they keep in the lobby. It had ice and was full every time we came down morning or night. What a comfort for busy tourists, especially in the summer. There are drugstores, food and coffee right around the corner. And ubers into all of the tourist attractions were fairly inexpensive. We will be staying here again! dispense in the lobby

Pola P: The sheet of the bed was dirty. The road outside was very loud and I could hear every car going by while being in my room. The walls are very thin and I could hear people from the other room almost all evening. The bathroom door was very loud! It was squeaking. The breakfast wasn’t that good. The room was spacious and nice. The air conditioner was very easy to operate. The elevators were very fast and nice!

Jen Bradley: Pay for the valet or your car WILL be broken into!!! At least a dozen cars had a window smashed out during our stay & center consoles ripped out. They put two holes in my window trying to break in but couldn’t get it to shatter. Everyone else, not so lucky. When I told the front desk they said they tell everyone not to park on the street (when we arrived they said valet or street were the options, no warning whatsoever about the DAILY break-ins and complete lack of police presence). Breakfast was ok. Semi convenient location but not safe (vacant lots flank half the street). Coffee shop across the street was nice. Room wasn’t that clean. Needed a blanket for the pull out couch and had to wait 30 min, as no one was attending the front desk. Phone did not work. Need a key card to gain access to the lobby and to activate the elevator, even in DC that says a lot,

uthra pakkiriswamy: Towels were smelling full of smoke! That means they haven’t changed from previous stay or they haven’t washed properly. Whole room was filled with smoke. For 4 people, 1 shampoo and 1 soap was provided. Exhaust fan wasn’t working in toilet. Worst room service in my entire life! Kitchen, valet service was good.

Simon Cardenas: Friendly staff, good location, beds are okay. Im definitely staying here if I come back

Nora: I’ve been here last February before the pandemic and I really enjoyed staying here the price so convenient and the staff were so nice and friendly they made sure that I get whatever I needed and they were so helpful and happy to help I honestly felt like home here and this is the only hostel I like among all hostels I’ve been at. Back then they served breakfast every day and there were some activities every week. Somehow everyone I met there was lovely and friendly we had so fun hearing each other stories and future plans. I’m so thankful for this experience. Also about the location it’s so nice there are plenty of restaurants and coffee shops in the area almost one block away. I highly recommend it.

Ellen SC: Such a lovely hostel. Was made to feel so welcome, like I was coming home. Beds were comfy and hostel was quiet enough to get a good nights sleep but also lots of social areas. Would definitely recommend!

Emily Wakwe: Surprisingly excellent! 👏🏾 Only request is that mirrors or a mirror needs to be in the room.

Lauren: Loved my stay at this hostel. The location is beautiful in a very lively neighborhood. A 5min walk gets you to the bus stop. It’s about a 20 min ride to the national mall and DCA. Spacious and clean rooms. The beds were comfortable although very squeaky. I had a room on the third floor and had the bathroom to my self every morning. Very friendly staff. Went out Saturday night with people from the hostel and had an incredible time. If you’re a solo traveler going to DC and thinking about booking any kind of accommodation I recommend this hostel.
Response: Hi Lauren, Thanks so much for a detailed review of the HighRoad Hostel DC. We're so happy to hear you enjoyed our beautiful neighborhood of Adams Morgan, our hostel amenities, and our Saturday night event, Bar Night! However, I'm sorry to hear that your bunk was squeaky. I can say with confidence that our beds are typically not noisy. We will do a spot check of the beds first thing tomorrow to ensure all beds do not squeak!! Please let us know if you have any other suggestions for us! We are always looking forward to guest comments to improve and provide the best service and experience for our guests. Safe travels and see you soon! -Miyuki at the HighRoad Hostel DC Team

Camryn King: My stay was AMAZING! the staff was extremely friendly and accommodating! All of the general areas, bathrooms, and my room was extremely clean and up to par. I really really loved staying here. I would suggest to anyone who may think about staying in a bigger room with more beds that your privacy may be worth the little extra fees. I stayed in a 14 bed mixed gender room and I don’t have any complaints, I just think I would prefer a more expensive room next time for more privacy 😊

Jeff Martin: This hostel is awesome! I’m a teacher, I brought 15 students here. The staff was incredibly responsive, helpful, prompt, and professional in advance of arrival. We were greeted by staff and shown to our rooms in a very welcoming manor. They were nice to me and my students. The showers are clean. the beds are very very comfortable and do not squeak when you turn over in them. The vide is hip and fun. The location is in the heart of the fun to be had in Adams Morgan. I will definitely recommend this hostel to others and will definitely plan to come back (without students) to have fun with this hostel as my home base!

Holiday Inn Washington-Central/White House, an IHG Hotel: what do users think?

K -: Convenient location and friendly staff. However, our rooms were given away when we arrived. Then, we were given room keys for an already occupied room (apologies to the people we woke up). The room we finally got into was musty and had several power outlets nonfunctional. I expect better for over $200 per night. Ironing board and two luggage stands were handy. Bath&Body Works amenities were nice. I appreciate that room service only comes upon request.
Response: Dear K, Thank you for offering feedback about your recent experience at our hotel. We're glad you enjoyed our convenient location and friendly service. Our team apologizes that there was confusion with your original accommodations, and we appreciate your comments are we continually work to improve our facility. Given another opportunity, we hope we can host you for the stay you expected.

Lisha Fairbairn: Could tell it was recently renovated and that some things had been rushed. Beds were clean and rooms were fairly clean as well. Staff were all very friendly and helpful! The pool area on the roof was beautiful, got some amazing sunset pictures from up there! My only complaint was that the parking garage was very poorly laid out. It had super tight corners, a single lane, and very narrow parking spots. We drove a minivan and almost got stuck in the ramp because we couldn’t make a turn. When we did park, the parking spot was the exact size of the vehicle leaving almost no room to open doors. Very nerve wracking. $47/night seemed like a lot for such a terrible ramp. Besides the ramp, we had a great experience and would definitely stay here again (just maybe with a different car or no car at all 😂)
Response: Dear Lisha, We agree; our rooftop pool is fabulous, and we are so glad you had the opportunity to enjoy it as well as all the other wonderful amenities we offer. We are honored to have been your hotel of choice and look forward to having you stay with us again at Holiday Inn Washington DC - Central / White House.

Shivaprasad K: Very convenient location for tourists, close to the tourist attraction as well as the market place. Check-in experience was good. No in-house restaurant, coffee / tea in the lobby and room takes care of basic coffee/tea needs. The front desk provided us with a list of restaurants nearby. Many good restaurants, 2 blocks away make up for the absence of a restaurant in the hotel. Rooms are well furnished. A roof top pool is good for relaxing.
Response: Dear Shivaprasad, Thank you very much for taking the time to share your comments with us! It is wonderful to know that you appreciated our convenient location, easy check-in process, and helpful room amenities. We love to provide suggestions on great local places to eat. It was a pleasure hosting you, and we hope to see you again in the future!

Chiana Hutchinson: This was a great location for us, we paid $50 to park our car overnight felt that should have been free. It was expensive but considering where it was located I suppose that explains it. They were doing renovations but it had no impact on us.
Response: Dear Chiana, Thank you for your recent stay at Holiday Inn Washington DC - Central / White House as well as your wonderful review. We are happy you enjoyed our prime location and hope you come back to visit once our renovations are completed.

Scott Cook: My experience is probably a one off. There was a pride parade that made it difficult to reach the hotel without police escort. However, the room was very loud. My wife, daughter and I had horrible sleep because we heard everything from the people outside to other rooms. Suggest if you know there is some sort of event that weekend, you out out a notice to people with reservations.
Response: Dear Scott, It was a pleasure to welcome you and your family during your recent visit. We're sorry to hear of any external noise disturbance you encountered during the recent parade in the area. We did include information regarding street closures for this parade on our website and on pre-stay emails as soon as the city made the information available to us. We note that your reservation was made via a third party booking agency which did not pass along an email address for you. Thank you for taking the time to share your valuable comments and we hope to have the opportunity to host you on another occasion.

David Hicks: It was a nice clean hotel , great location for visiting Washington. The only downside was no bar or restaurant on site and several of the drink machines and ice machines did not work on several floors.
Response: Dear David, We are ecstatic to see that our clean accommodations and stellar location were some highlights of your visit. With so much to do in the area, we hope you had a blast checking it all out. Our team will certainly look into your comments about our vending machines to ensure they are operating properly. Nevertheless, we would love to welcome you back to Holiday Inn Washington DC - Central / White House soon.

Erik Kursetgjerde: Smelling of smoke, not clean rooms - and blaming renovations. Renovation were half done, and the bathroom is also in need of renovation. For this price one should expect more.
Response: Dear Erik, Thank you for choosing to stay with us. It is disappointing to see that your room did not meet your expectations and we apologize. Please know we are always looking for ways to improve our guest experience and we will be discussing your concerns with our team so we can work to address these issues. We thank you for your feedback and wish you pleasant future travels.

The Hay-Adams: what do users think?

Bill Maniatis: From the moment the door is opened for you, you will know that you are walking intro a most beautiful well maintained historical hotel. The facility is so well maintained and he attention to detail is second to none! Everything is clean and organized to perfection! Adding to that facility is the amazing staff! So helpful and polite and willing to perform the jobs so amazingly well. Proper turn down service, friendly and polite and so friendly This is the only place to stay in! The location is wonderful and extremely convenient however what makes The Hey Adams standout is the wonderful staff, attention to detail and how the hotel is maintained. Thank you all so much!

Evan D: Average person review: visiting from the South, and it’s an odd way to type out a review on how employees at a hotel can make you feel like you’re family here while thinking about how it’s their job to do so. It’s not a forced smile they put on, but rather a genuine atmosphere in all that they do for you. My bed was made multiple times a day, my dirty clothes were neatly folded in a small area in the room and I always had fresh towels. (It’s just a big thing for me) As I said before, the staff was more than welcoming! One gentlemen opened the door with a smile outside, and another opened it with a smile on the inside. I’m not anything special, but the Hay Adams staff sure did make me feel as if I was the most important person visiting for the next few days! Breakfast was outstanding; again, I’m a Southerner so breakfast is our staple. Didn’t get a chance to see the rooftop bar after walking 8 miles around DC because we were tired but everything about the inside and restaurant were perfect. As I said in the beginning is exactly what I want to say by ending; it’s a very hard way to describe how this building and staff make you feel like you’re family, and not just a temporary resident to fill a budget quota. There’s truly an indescribable feeling that walking into the Hay Adams is just like going to a distant relatives house. You don’t see them every day, but when you first arrive on the front porch, you’re greeted with a warm welcoming that makes you feel as if you’ve only been gone a few hours. 5 stars.

Katherine Collins: Treated my sister and her husband to a stay at the Hay-Adams & it’s one of the very few times I can say that it was absolutely worth every cent. Our rooms were impeccable, every member of the staff we encountered was genuinely caring, & every meal we ate was exceptional. Everything exceeded my expectations. I’ve never experienced anything like it; they must go out of their way to hire the best of the best & treat them well because nothing fell short of absolute excellence. I don’t think I could ever stay anywhere else in the city. It made our time in DC magical.

Tracey Vlahovic: This was an experience! From my room I can see the white house and such a wonderful view! I took the best pictures! The hotel bar was great and wonderful staff greeted us. We had many rooms booked and so many of my family came along and everyone enjoyed! I highly recommend!

Adam Galazka: Overall, just an amazing experience. I would give them 4.5 stars. Mainly because after our stay, we found some rim and tire damage from valet parking. Working with their management to address it. Booked this through Amex Platinum. Their check in process was amazing. From doors being open to everyone knowing your name, just great. This hotel is right down the street of the White House. Just an amazing location. Room was great with St. John view of the church. Room was spacious. Shower had an amazing pressure. Enjoyed the little touch of water and mandarins. Turn down service was also great as we did not expect it. We will definitely be back. Restaurant and bar/lounge on the premises are amazing.

brian perkins: Was visiting DC for the first time since the pandemic. So glad we stayed at The Hay-Adams. So charming. So comfortable. So beautiful. Such great service (the doormen, the waiters, the hostesses great you by your name every day!). I only had breakfasts there…and I miss them. Especially the corned beef hash. And they charged my Tesla. Perfect.

Priya R.: What an amazing experience. The location of the hotel is spectacular, the service is amazing and the rooms are beautiful. Special thanks to Brian Thomasson for going above and beyond to make sure my twin boys felt special during the stay. If you truly want a memorable experience, you cannot stay anywhere else. We plan to come back soon…many thanks for the fantastic memories.

Michelle W: My husband and I stayed in the Lafayette Park view suite for three nights and we were impressed with every aspect of this beautiful hotel - from the courteous and pleasant service from every employee we interacted with, an awesome concierge who set us up with an informative walking tour of DC, to the wonderful in room dining staff. Off the Record was a nightly favorite! We can’t wait to come back and stay again!

Thomas Corcoran: Despite an issue with some minor room cleanliness, the hotel management handled it extremely well. The staff turned what would have been a disappointment into a very positive experience. We look forward to returning for a relaxing stay again.

Phoenix Park Hotel: what do users think?

Cora Johnson: My stay there was very nice. The rooms were modern, clean and well maintained and close to the train station. Good deal on pricing. The quilt was lumpy. most of the filling had formed into lumps. That comes from constant washes.. I would consider staying there again in the future. I enjoyed the food I bought from Irish restaurant located within hotel.
Response: I am so glad you enjoyed your visit and we thank you for staying with us.

Scott Hayes: Our first visit to the Phoenix House was to move one of our kids to DC. The location is fantastic! Right on Capitol Hill, steps from Union Station and only a few more steps to the Capitol Complex. It makes a great starting point to walk the best parts of DC. As a boutique hotel, it is small but not tiny. Rooms are spacious, well appointed with comfortable beds and updated fixtures and furniture. Our view was Mass Ave so interesting and bustling until after 10pm. The staff were excellent and the building impeccably maintained. We will use it as our base for upcoming visits to Washington.
Response: So pleased you enjoyed your first visit to us and we hope to welcome you back again in future.

James McSweeney: My wife and I came here with our baby for a weekend trip. The staff was really nice and friendly. The initial room we stayed in had problems with the heater and they quickly helped us move our things into another room(Fernando and another gentlemen) The location is great, its affordable compared to other hotels in the area and the attached Dubliner had some great food and really good Irish restaurant.
Response: Glad we were able to make your weekend a memorable one. I apologize for the problem you experienced with your heating and glad that our team looked after you so well. They join me in thanking you for your visit.

Alex Barros: Good location for vacation (near capitol hill) and many other attractions. Nice view. Room is clean. Near to transportation (train) union station. Reasonable price. The ladies servicing the room are excellent. 24hrs coffee machine another 2nd floor is outstanding. We are happy Canadians Eh!
Response: We thank you for your visit.

Danira Ortiz: Stayed here on a work trip. Beautiful!!! Friendly staff. Super clean. Pricy but to be expected in DC I guess. $4.50 for a water bottle! The connecting door was a bit creepy because you could jiggle the lock a bit but it didn’t open. The bed was super comfortable.
Response: Thank you for your visit and so pleased to have had you with us.

Emilee Richards: Great location, great service, and great rooms! The rooms are a little on the smaller side, but unless you’re in the room the whole stay it’s totally fine. The bed was super comfortable too with the softest pillows. The pub attached to it is also really good! A little pricey but that’s a little expected for the area. I thought the overall hotel look was unique - it’s modern but had cool little historical elements.
Response: I am so pleased you found the hotel and Dubliner to your satisfaction and we thank you for staying with us.

One Washington Circle Hotel: what do users think?

Josephine Amuron: The staff were very welcoming, helpful and friendly, I stayed here for 2 weeks and it was amazing

Julisa Ovando: I stayed here about 2 years ago room was nice check in was good BUT I paid for valet parking once I got my car back it was ransacked everything was everywhere I had hundreds dollars worth of items from my trunk stolen I spoke to the manager with my husband they assured me they’d help me out but no 2 years later I have heard nothing. PLEASE BE CAREFUL!!!

Helena Williams: I stayed here for a week on a school trip and it was great. Our group was well accommodated, and the staff were all very helpful. The rooms were really nice and clean, and there was a whole kitchenette and a balcony. It was also within walking distance of a lot of other cool destinations. I had a great time at this hotel and I would definitely recommend.

Mark Jackson: Excellent location, very inexpensive, genuinely helpful, nice, caring staff, and surprise! The hotel "room" is actually a spacious apartment with a balcony equipped with table and chairs (too cold for us to use). This would be a great place to stay for a week. Tip: Take the room rate that includes parking. Paid in advance it adds $25 to the cost of the room. Otherwise valet parking is $42/night.

Megan Rainey: Great place to stay! Was only there for 1 night, but hotel was clean, rooms were spacious with private balconies and is perfectly located in the city within walking distance to restaurants, bars, the Monument and other historical sites, and Georgetown. Staff was super friendly and helpful with recommendations. Will definitely be staying here whenever we visit DC! Picture is our view from the balcony.

Paul Durkes: Hotel has a great location to everything. The rooms are clean and spacious. Having a balcony is a nice feature too. Cleaning Service is quick and not too intrusive. Only complaint is the shower gel smells horrible. Not sure why it was used.

Maria Bruce: The staff was very friendly. It was difficult to fall asleep because we were on the second floor. Maybe a higher floor would have been quieter. Also the bathroom toilet was way too close to the vanity and toilet paper holder. I kept hitting my arm and shoulder on it. Other than that the room was clean and the bed was comfortable.

Hyatt Place Washington Dc/National Mall: what do users think?

Keith Wunsch: Convenient location, fairly close to the Smithsonian museums and national mall. The 2 queen bed (and sofa bed) room is perfect for families. Service is fast and friendly. Breakfast is a bit basic but is included in your room fee which is a major plus. Most of the unique amenities are closed in the cooler seasons and parking is a little pricey ($50/day) but otherwise it is a well equipped hotel.

Jennifer Jordan: The hotel elevator floors were dirty and not well maintained. The elevator buttons were barely attached to call an elevator on the lobby level. There were letters missing on the wall of the lobby level. The room was decent but the walls were marked up and the bathroom left a lot to be desired. The towel rack in our bathroom was rusted badly and the tub did not drain well. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone I know. There is a reason why they do not show pictures of the bathroom when booking.

Jazmín Romero: We stayed for one night and that was enough to know how things work here. The attention from the front desk staff was very good, no complaints about that. But: First of all, the elevators are pretty slow, it takes about 5 minutes to get into one. The air conditioner in our room made a lot of noise and it wasn’t fun to listen to. At around 9 a.m. the cleaning lady knocked at our door because she wanted to clean up already. It was a bit of a bother because we had just woken up, were still in bed and had barely gotten prepared for breakfast. She said that she had on her list that we would be doing the regular 12 noon checkout and not the later 2 pm checkout (we had told the staff at the front desk that we would do the 2 pm checkout since we have Hyatt Discoverist status which allows this). For breakfast there were no trays to put our plates on. They offered different sizes of plates and glasses/ cups, but I guess they think we have 6 hands to hold everything. It’s inefficient to make more than one trip to get the food. We decided to eat something in the afternoon before we left. The waiter took our order. He then said that my chicken sandwich would last longer that normal to come out (about 20 minutes. It ended up being a whole HOUR. He did not say anything about the time and we saw how the table next that arrived after us was finishing their food already. I am pretty disappointed. I hope they can get better.

Mr. Carl Davis: We stayed at this location the entire week and totally enjoyed everything. The room was spacious and we had a decent view from the 6th floor. We were centrally located to the National Mall and walking distance to CVS and the local grocery and other attractions... The staff while being very busy at times was professional and very nice on all levels. The breakfast was great and had a variety and a good selection of food... Not sure why someone said breakfast cost them extra because nothing was added extra for us on our bill. Neither were we disturbed by the fire station located around the corner of the hotel... We had a great stay....Thumbs 👍.

Hilton Garden Inn Washington DC/U.S. Capitol: what do users think?

Siobhan Walker: My stay was amazing. My room was spacious and so clean. The front desk was polite, helpful and very professional. Octavia was awesome. She was most helpful because the hotel I had a current reservation for had canceled my reservation and I had to make a reservation here last minute. She provided me the most outstanding customer service possible even with my frustration from the other hotel. Any questions I had was answered and my stay was relaxing. I definitely recommend this hotel to anyone.

g watson: Customer service here is EXCELLENT. Very friendly staff - extra praise to the office manager, Reina Munoz and guest agent Janay! Hilton - you should recognize this location and their staff, they go above and beyond their call to make guests feel welcomed and comfortable. All hotel/hospitality should take this location as the example for service. The rooms are clean, and quite comfortable and roomy - this hotel is conveniently located, just a short walk from Union Station. I was here for business and I was delightfully surprised for the work space and seating area. I was also happy to learn their fitness center is open 24hrs...with my stay being business in nature - it is difficult for me to get a work out in at most places, due to the limited hours fitness centers are available. 100% recommend the US CAPITOL location. If you want to feel welcomed and comfortable, stay here!

Angela Baca: The air conditioning in our room never worked even after they had someone come and fix it. The elevator stopped on every floor. The pool was available but it was foggy and couldn’t see the bottom of the pool because of this. Burned my kids eyes and mine. This hotel is older and not maintained well by Hilton. There are no fans in the bathroom so if you take a hot shower your whole hotel room fills with steam. The people are nice and it is located near a metro. Those are the only two things that are good about this hotel. Only stay here unless you just can’t find anywhere else to stay.
Response: Hi Angela Baca - We are sorry we did not live up to our high standards of exceeding expectations. Thanks for taking the time to provide your candid feedback regarding your experience with Hilton Garden Inn Washington DC/U.S. Capitol. Please reach out to us at https://help.hilton.com/s/contactsupport so that we can investigate further and make this right.

Natalie Martin: The staff was nice and did what they could, but the hotel was overwhelmed and not well maintained. It is unequipped to have more than 1-2 guests arriving or departing at the same time. It also has intentionally inadequate air conditioning. I have stayed at Hiltons in other cities that also have valet only parking. They’ve all had a driveway to pull in and unload your vehicle. This one has only a small shoulder that a maximum of 2 cars can pull into. Everyone else has to just stop in the middle of a busy street. There were no luggage carts when we arrived, left or had to move rooms on the second night. Other guests also told us that there were no luggage carts when they arrived. On the first night the room was consistently hot though we could hear the AC cut on and off. After coming to look at it twice, the maintenance man determined that the compressor in our room was broken so we were moved to a new room (again no luggage cart, we had a lot of stuff as we were traveling with a toddler). The maintenance man explained that the AC units are motion activated so guests will always return to a hot room and it will always get hot in the middle of the night so that’s why it took him so long to figure out that ours was actually broken. This seems incredibly stingy for a Hilton (in addition to being illogical as it takes more energy to cool a hot room than it does to simply maintain temperature). Stay here only if you are a single traveler with one suitcase and don’t mind an 80 degree room overnight and when you return after being out of the room. Other reviews mention how slow the elevator is, that is also true.
Response: Hi Natalie Martin - We are sorry we did not live up to our high standards of exceeding expectations. Thanks for taking the time to provide your candid feedback regarding your experience with our service and amenities. Please reach out to us at https://help.hilton.com/s/contactsupport so that we can look into this further. We look forward to making things right.

Geoffrey D: Parking valet lane is terribly short. Stains on the comforter. Breakfast included not properly advertised on elevator or through hotel. Laid out of first floor is very awkward, why have steps instead of escalator to second floor. Front desk staff were superb. All throughout the stay they were informative, helpful, positive and available! Wait for valet was not long at all, which was surprising. Minor issues, overall decent stay.

David: Very nice hotel - staff were very friendly and attentive to our needs. The Manager greeted us as we were leaving and just make the stay complete. Nice pool and restaurant - special call out Kevon our waiter for one of our evening meals. Great place to stay - close to a metro stop as well.

Sassy Sauce: The hotel is pretty decent. It met all of our basic needs. It was as clean as I think it should be but the rest of my party felt it was ok. Parking can be a little challenging in the area but we managed. The front desk staff were pleasant and very helpful. I would go back if I needed to.

Chippy McLain: Guest services here should be renamed "guest hassles." Checking in and checking out were lengthy, frustrating ordeals. Paid valet parking was ineffective, slow, and overpriced--and apparently the only option. Showers were inconsistent, with cold winning two out of the three mornings we stayed. One of the two elevators was broken leading to overstuffed rides with no option of social distancing as well as long delays in the lobby. The spa had a new twist: a hot tub colder than the pool. I had hoped for a classy, Hilton experience for my family. I wish I had stayed at a Motel 6. I am thankful that I saw no rats inside the hotel. There were plenty just outside the front door; I assume due to the construction and vagrant tents across the street. This section of DC has some big rats. My littlest did think these were cool; my wife, not so much.

The Dupont Circle Hotel: what do users think?

Chiamaka Ukachukwu: I stayed here for just one night on a business trip and had a lovely experience. Beautiful room and location. In the heart of the city close to many food options. Staff were friendly, warm, and welcoming. I cannot comment on pricing as my room was paid for but it was an excellent stay. Loved my room and felt so relaxed! Would love to come back! Special thank you to Femi, a receptionist who was very accommodating at check in and check out.
Response: Dear Chiamaka Ukachukwu Thank you for your feedback! We are happy you enjoyed your stay! We hope to welcome you again to the Dupont Circle hotel should your travels bring you back to Washington D.C! Warm Regards, Jamie Kang Director of Front Office

Chris Sanders: Stayed here in 2017. White glove experience all around for my entire stay. Fitness room is way more than I expected in a hotel gym. Really nice cardio equipment. Minimal strength equipment but high quality. Great location in Dupont Circle with plenty of restaurant options around the hotel as well as their own bar and cafe. Small business center was great for grabbing a couple of quick conference calls right when I arrived. Highly recommend for biz or pleasure. Great experience!
Response: Dear Mr. Sanders, Thank you for staying at The Dupont Circle in 2017 and we appreciate your review. We've renovated our guestrooms in 2021 so very much looking forward to welcoming you back during your next trip to Washington DC!. Sincerely, Jamie Kang Front Office Manager

Danielle El Kadi Levin: My husband and I had an excellent stay. Farrah the GM was fantastic! The housekeeping was top notch. The rooms were very comfortable. Staff was so kind, look out for John and Christopher, they’re lovely people. Thank you staff of the DuPont Circle !!! We felt very at home. Tons of little details that make all the difference.
Response: Dear Danielle El Kadi Levin, , It was a pleasure to welcome you to our hotel and we so glad that you had such a great experience during your time with us! We are delighted to hear that you thought so highly of the service you received there. Your kind words of Farah, Christopher and John will pass long. Thank you for staying with us and we look forward to welcoming you back to our hotel during your next trip to Washington, DC Warm Regards, Jamie Kang

Megan Barnes: I recently had my wedding block here at the Dupont Circle Hotel and could not be more pleased with the hotel. The upgrades made it feel like a five star experience for our guests from the moment they checked in. The rooms were beautiful, the bar was perfect for our welcome drinks, and the Pembroke restaurant was perfect for a bridal breakfast the day before the festivities began. I would be remiss by not sharing how incredible Svetlin was leading up to our big day. It would not have been as seamless without his help. Christina was key in securing our incredible rate for our guests to make the weekend so special for our family and friends traveling into the city. You will no regret your stay here.
Response: Dear Megan Thompson, I’m delighted to read that you had an exceptional stay. Our colleagues passion and professionalism is what we pride ourselves on, and comments such as yours are the best possible compliment and encouragement, showing that their attitude towards exceptional customer service does not go unnoticed. I will make sure to share your kind comments with our teams, especially with Svetlin and Christina. We hope to welcome you again to the Dupont Circle hotel should your travels bring you back to Washington D.C! Warm Regards, Jamie Kang Director of Front Office

Sarah Bell: Who doesn’t love a turn down service?? Can’t say enough good things about this hotel; when I lived in DC I used to frequent their bar/restaurant regularly but this is my first time staying as an overnight guest. The staff has been lovely and the room is great, too. Will absolutely book again when I’m back in town.
Response: Thank you for such a complimentary review. We're thrilled to learn you enjoyed your stay and humbled by your kind comments, including those about our staff. Should your travels bring you back to our nation's capital, we look forward to welcoming you again for another enjoyable stay. Regards, Jamie King Director of Front Office

Derrik C: I had such a great stay here. The rooms were beautiful and clean, the staff was so helpful and welcoming, and the location was perfect. I will definitely stay here again when I’m in DC. Also, the valet parking service is amazing. I stress about parking whenever I’m in the city and this was a life saver and the valets were wonderful.
Response: Dear Derrik C, Thank you for your feedback! We are happy you enjoyed your stay! We hope to welcome you again to the Dupont Circle hotel should your travels bring you back to Washington D.C! Warm Regards, Jamie Kang Director of Front Office

Reb O: Do not stay here. We accidentally left an expensive pair of shoes on the closet floor in our room. We called almost immediately when we realized this on the ride home. The hotel told us they would call us back immediately after speaking to housekeeping. They did not call us back at all. We had to call the next morning. By this time, hours and hours passing, we were tossed around to various people and the conclusion was that they did not find the shoes in the room. They kept calling this a “lost item”. The shoes were not a lost item, they were a “left” item. It’s unfortunate that you can’t accidentally leave some thing in your room and have an honest staff member return it to you. After talking to multiple managers on the phone, they did not want to do anything about the shoes. I will never stay in a hotel that steals from you. Beware.

C L: The hotel rooms are beyond tiny - not even a door for the bathroom, and the ceiling heights are so low, even at 5’3 I️ can’t breathe. Service is the worst part, I️ have never met so many apathetic people in one place. At checkout we called 3 times to request a dolly. The first time they adamantly denied that our room number even existed 🤯 and then the next two times they said they were sending one up. Didn’t happen. We had to carry all of our luggage down by hand (we have a child so this included a travel crib, stroller, and 2 suitcases. Upon leaving no one even offered us a hand. When I️ was exiting the elevator with my child in the stroller and carrying 3 bags, there was a man with a loaded dolly standing outside the elevator and would not make space for me to get by. I’m positively shocked that this place is in business and that this was my experience. How does this place have good reviews?? The only redeemable moment was meeting the lady from housekeeping who gave my kid chocolate and was so kind to us. She should be paid way more than any of those a-holes at the front desk. Complete waste of space and money. Worst hotel I’ve ever stayed at.
Response: Thank you for sharing feedback on your recent stay at The Dupont Circle. We are deeply concerned to learn of the shortcomings you experienced at our property. We never wish for our guests to leave our property dissatisfied with their stay. Thus, we're disheartened to hear you did. We would like the opportunity to speak with you to learn more about your stay and to see how we can make amends for your recent experience. Kimpton George Hotel: what do users think?

Christina Williams: We had an amazing stay at The George. The room was spacious and super clean. The staff are all top notch. I have to give a special shout out to DAMARA K who provide the most knowledgeable, professional and personal service. The ability to text front desk with questions, concerns great feature, front desk responded super fast to all inquiries. Eating in DC can be a hit or miss experience, DAMARA provided amazing brunch, lunch and dinner recommendations throughout our stay. DAMARA deserves a raise and a promotion ASAP. Honorable mention to Benjamin, Hunter and the lovely gentlemen (can’t recall his name) who handled our luggage, everyone was GREAT. This is the only place we will stay on our trips to D.C.

Fine Corinthian Videos: None of the first key cards we got worked after the first time we used them(they only worked once) so we had to get new ones. We ended up waiting ten minutes in the hallway because we couldn’t get into our room. The bathroom doors need to be replaced with normal, lockable doors. The sliding one did not work smoothly, and the gap between the door and the wall was at least 2 or 3 inches, so from one of the beds you could easily see into the shower, which had completely clear glass, not to mention you could hear every single sound someone made in there. In short, the key cards need to work better and there needs to be a lot more privacy in the bathroom.

J.S. Goff: Mediocre at best. The 1 star is for the only decent staff member who works ungodly hours, a gentleman with a great demeanor despite the obvious poor operations of the establishment. Our room was left open by housekeeping and no logical reason was provided. Bar staff showed up to my room because they ran wrong tab, without me providing room number. Short story: unsafe and not secure. Incredibly upsetting as a guest who is only at this hotel because of it was provided for business travel. Stay anywhere else. Request anywhere else. Pitch a tent in front of union station because that’s the level of security, safety, and piece of mind they’re willing to provide. I hope the decent staff can find work elsewhere because obviously the management is horrible.

Edwin Fornwalt: The lobby looked amazing, going the the room, the halls looked worn and out dated. The rooms were really nice and spacious. The bed left a lot to be desired, it was an old spring mattress that squeaked when you sat in it. The mattress was very hard bit the pillows we really nice.

Natalie: Expensive, bad location, not nice- do not stay here!! Amenity fee is ridiculous there is no breakfast, no pool- and absolutely no amenities, they scam you. Hotel was not 4 stars- this place is such a lie. Peeling wall paper, black stain on ceiling, chipped mirror frame. Stay anywhere but here for at least one of these reasons: Nicer, cheaper or better location

Jeremy Hurst: Staff was great, hotel was clean, and location is good geographically speaking. However I would never go back because walking outside is a task do to homeless shelter around corner. Nearly got physical twice with crazy homeless people, at the footsteps of hotel. Should be $99-$150 a night.

Baneo Spriggs: Overall it was good. The only 3 downfalls. Resurant not open on Sundays. I book a king size bed and they gave me a queen, the ice machine in the hallway did not work. Small things Overall.

Hyatt House Washington Dc / The Wharf: what do users think?

Keejoo Park: This place was the excellent choice for us from the beginning to the end. I called to ask some questions prior to book the room and the response was concise with all the answers. We were impressed and booked the hotel. Upon arrival, it was smooth to check in and it was quick to check in. Very convenient from parking to lobby to room as well. I drove pickup truck and the parking was easy for me. I was again lucky to find a spot close the elevator. Staffs checked to see if there was anything hotel can help and provide. The frequency was after arrival and a day later. I requested couple of times and the response was quick and accurate. We rushed to find dinner place on the first night and there were so many restaurants with excellent foods. We tried four places during our stay and all of them were fantastic. No doubt I will visit the wharf area and stay here again.
Response: Dear Keejoo Park, It sounds like every aspect of your stay was great from start to finish; we are glad to hear it! Thank you for choosing our Hyatt House for your travel needs and for taking the time to sing our praises on Google Reviews. Hosting you was our pleasure and we hope to do so again anytime you need to return to Washington. Best, Michael Anderson General Manager

Wendy Caputo: Excellent location, great staff- super friendly, great view, spacious rooms. The morning breakfast was also a nice feature. Food was fresh & well stocked, and the staff assisting were really nice. I was super disappointed with the small, worn, starched towels. It was like drying off with sandpiper.
Response: Dear Wendy Caputo, We are so appreciative of your kind review. It is rewarding to know that you enjoyed our great location, breakfast, and friendly service. Your remarks serve as an encouragement to our team who strive to provide a pleasant stay. Thank you for taking the time to share your experience and please visit us upon your return to the area. Best, Michael Anderson General Manager

Kathy G.: We really enjoyed our stay here for the weekend. The staff was extremely helpful and courteous, even giving us another room with the same quality after our first room didn’t work because the people next door (a conjoining room) were being way too loud with their music and partying. The views are spectacular and the beds extremely comfy! I’d give it a 4.5 for sure.
Response: Dear Kathy Grannis, While it wasn't without some flaws, I am glad to hear that your stay was a pleasant one. Thank you so much for taking the time to share this kind and informative feedback with us and other potential travelers. We hope that you will consider a return trip for a flawless experience next time. Best, Michael Anderson General Manager

Jen Hammond: I’m leaving two stars for the amazing view of the Wharf from our room, otherwise this would have probably been closer to a 1 star experience. I expected a lot more from Hyatt to be honest. Upon arrival our room was HOT, 80 degrees to be exact. The AC doesn’t seem to really work, if you put it on auto to the lowest setting it will continuously cut itself off at around 75 degrees, so we had to let it continually run on the fan setting at 65 to get any kind of relief. Looking at the reviews it seems to be the norm that the ac doesn’t work, but keep in mind that it’s about 35 degrees outside, I cannot imagine what it would be like in spring/summer. The shower is a tragedy. It’s the tiniest stream of cold water, if you’re a woman with long hair like myself, it isn’t possible to wash your hair in this shower, and it’s freezing. Luckily we had a bath tub in our room, otherwise this would have been a major problem. They only gave us 2 towels for the entirety of our stay, and even though they give a disclaimer that housekeeping is required to enter your room everyday, we never saw housekeeping. Our room was missing the tv remote and it took them nearly an hour to bring us one, when we called for more towels it was another wait as well. With the staff you either got the most friendly person you have ever encountered, or the most miserable person you’ve ever experienced. We requested a late checkout because our train wasn’t leaving until 5, and even though we never saw or heard another person on our floor during our 3 day stay, they told us they could not accommodate us, which was honestly no surprise considering how lackluster our stay had gone, but they at least were able to hold our luggage for us. They also charge an insane fee of $250 dollars for damages and incidentals upon checking in, so be warned of that. We are still waiting for that to go back onto the credit card, but we aren’t holding our breath based on the other reviews. We would never stay here again, there’s so many other options, and we decided to stay here based on the proximity to the Anthem, but we wouldn’t make that mistake again.
Response: Dear Jen Hammond, Thank you for sharing a review of your recent stay. We sincerely apologize that we were unable to provide you with the exceptional stay you've come to expect from Hyatt House. The details definitely do make a trip and we regret we missed the mark. Your feedback provides us with the valuable information we need to improve our service and offerings. We appreciate your patronage and hope to see you again soon. Sincerely, Michael Anderson General Manager

Shannon A. McGhee: Absolutely perfect!!!! I live for this particular location. Rooms were affordable, clean and smelling good. Beds were fluffed just right. Everything was perfect. The staff!!!!Every single one of them went our their way to make our stay great. I love it.
Response: Dear Shannon A McGhee, Thank you for taking the time to share this glowing review of your experience at our hotel! It is wonderful to hear that you hold our staff in high regard as well as our fresh accommodations. I will be certain to share your comments with our staff who truly love making our guests feel welcome when they come to town. Please find a reason to visit us again soon! Best, Michael Anderson General Manager

Joseph Henzi: This place is great! And a cool location I’ve not yet explored in DC. I got into town early in the morning and was supposed to stay elsewhere. That national casino chain gave away my room, the whole reservation. I called this Hyatt (that I was eyeing before my trip) and they got me a room quickly so I could rest, hours before check in. Everyone I’ve met here has been just as hospitable and overall just super friendly and accommodating in every way. Even better the rooms are clean and nice with a very very aggressive price. It’s hard to pass up and I wish I would have stuck with my instincts and booked this place when I was still shopping ideas for a last minute trip.
Response: Dear Joseph Henzi, Offering clean accommodations and cheerful service are core goals of the staff so it is great to hear that we delivered. Your feedback is very much appreciated. Thank you for staying at our hotel and please come see us again. Best, Michael Anderson General Manager

Kimpton Hotel Monaco Washington DC: what do users think?

Shining Starzz: I’ve stayed in hotels all around the world and this is my favorite. Front staff was friendly and sociable. Check-in was easy. Free happy hour in the evening. High vault ceilings in the rooms, which are well decorated. Large full mirror in the rooms and little things like the jewelry box, umbrella, yoga mat, exotic animal print robes and natural soap make a big difference. Only disappointment was the view from my window.

Susan Payne: Friendly, attentive staff, spacious lobby and guest rooms with funky meets traditional furnishings, soaring ceilings, and comfy beds. Perfect location for Smithsonian and within walking distance to the Tidal Basin/cherry blossoms. We felt very safe walking around. Complimentary coffee in the mornings and wine in the evenings - a nice touch. Several very good restaurants within a few steps from the hotel in every direction, including a lively restaurant/bar with outdoor seating in the hotel’s own courtyard. We’re hoping to make this an annual trip!

Ray Bentley: This was the WORST experience of my life. When I arrived my room was not prepared at 3pm on a Saturday! We ended up not being able to change and we’re late to an engagement. I asked the staff when and why our rooms were not ready and they gave us no timeline until I asked for the third time. Upon asking the front desk attendant was extremely rude when I really tried to be overly nice about the situation. Upon my room being prepared they didn’t apologize and might as well have just thrown my hotel card keys at me. When I asked what they could do to accommodate the issues we experienced, she said nothing. They finally gave us fifty dollars credit to a restaurant at the hotel. When we went to check out they also tried charging us for the fifty dollars we used at the restaurant and basically called me a liar until I explained how terrible of a stay I had. Going further our rooms were not cleaned the entire weekend and they blamed it on staffing and Covid issues. They did not adjust our price even though we booked through American Express travel. The worst part of all of this was the fire alarm that went off at 2am requiring the entire hotel to exit. They chose to rent out there lounge on the roof that evening to a 21st birthday party in which someone pulled the fire alarm. This place is a frat house not a hotel. It’s very disappointing because the furniture and ambiance of the space was great. A manager was supposed to call me after I checked out and I have received nothing of the kind. Worst stay I’ve ever had in a hotel and I travel for work all the time. Location and hotel furniture fixtures plus, everything else was absolutely terrible. Disappointing. Zero stars if I could.

Chad Rea: Stayed here 4 nights for a work conference and must say it was disappointing for a luxury branded IHG/Kimpton property. The hotel absolutely has some bold decor choices (which I kind of enjoyed) with the furniture and wallpaper. Rooms - I stayed in room 218, the bed was too soft for my liking, and the pillows were not great quality. The room also had an unusual smell which I could not identify. The weather was in the low 30s during my stay, and the thermostat would not go above 65 no matter high I set the heater temperature (thankfully I like my rooms cold). The restaurant "Dirty Habit" was really good, the charcoal bun burger was phenomenal. The location is perfect, I was across the street from the Wizards arena, and within walking distance of a ton of great restaurants and all of the smithsonian museums. Big Plus! And I must shout out the exceptional service. The staff was excellent, front desk was helpful and check-in was a breeze. Waiting staff during the provided conference meals were very attentive. The bellmen were also friendly and accommodating. Daily housekeeping was great. And the complimentary wine (in evening) and coffee (in the morning) in the lobby was a nice touch. Overall, solid hotel, great staff, but desperately in need of a makeover.

Matthew Radomski: The service was fantastic. We were welcomed by Belinda at the front desk when we checked in. There was a small error with our reservation (used a 3rd party app) and it took them maybe 2-3 minutes to fix the error. Belinda and another gentleman at the front desk went out of their way to make upgraded accommodations for us, and ensure we had a great time. Throughout our entire stay, we were greeted by name and asked how everything was. I could not have asked for better service.

Jeremy: Unless you have a written guarantee that you will NOT be in a basement room, don’t stay here. The basement rooms are musty and provide a view of the sidewalk and garbage cans. Staff were less than helpful as I watched guests who arrived after me get checked in. All of this well past the posted 3:00pm check-in time.

Capitol Hill Hotel: what do users think?

Briana Cooper: It was a very nice hotel and very clean. It was in a great area as well. We were able to walk to all the monuments and everything else we wanted to do. It wasn’t super busy and the staff is so nice and friendly. The breakfast is a few you have to pay on top of the hotel room fee and you can’t opt out of it. It’s $25 a day so that wasn’t as ideal because the breakfast was not worth that at all. The breakfast is also in the next building over so you have to leave the hotel to go to that building to get the breakfast. But other than that we loved staying here and will totally recommend.
Response: Thank you, Briana Cooper, for the stellar 5 out of 5 star review! I wanted to let you know that we only recently started doing our hot breakfast, and we will have a larger spread and more healthy options in the very near future. I am delighted to see that you will be staying with us again, and we look forward to seeing you then!

Greta H: I would love to give this hotel five stars based on the fantastic location, the incredibly friendly staff, the delicious breakfast and the awesome guy who attends to the breakfast, and the nice comfy rooms. But the management is incredibly stingy about housekeeping services. For our entire six day stay, we received housekeeping once, despite requesting it repeatedly. Family members were in another room for the same six days, and they didn’t receive housekeeping AT ALL for the entire stay, despite requesting it daily. There was one roll of toilet paper for three people to share for days on end. The kitchenette was minimally supplied with no brush or sponge for washing the dishes. And by the time we left, the trash can and recycle bin were overflowing. It made me feel like a slob to leave the room in such a state. I expected better for what we paid. I mean, a cheap motel by the side of the highway has better housekeeping services than that!

Chris Hall: Had a pleasant stay at the Capitol Hill Hotel. Rooms were clean, staff was very welcoming and accommodating-always engaging and welcoming you back from a day at the capital. The hotel offered a nice quaint library/sitting area and refreshments 24/7 (coffee/tea/hot chocolate/lemon and mint water). Room offered comfortable beds, a small fridge, sink, and microwave. Bathroom was a bit on the small side but served its purpose with hot water and solid water pressure. Note: hotel is really close to the Capitol Building, but might be a stretch to walk to the Washington Monument and Lincoln Memorial for some.
Response: Thank you, Chris Hall, for taking the time to review our hotel. Our team kindly thanks you for the 5 star review. It was a pleasure having you and we hope to see you soon!

Paris Cort: One of the best hotels I ever stayed in solely for the ambiance. The rooms are cute too and come with a mini fridge and microwave. It took me a minute to work the TV. But the staff!! Omg The staff is so nice and accommodating. I feel like this is the Maggianos of hotels. I love the music in the lobby, the mint water. Everything was amazing. Thank you it all!
Response: Paris Cort, we are delighted to see you enjoyed your stay with us! We are glad to see you enjoyed the spacious rooms, the mini fridge, the microwave, and all of the other amenities in the room. The staff here takes such pride in taking care of our guests, and I cannot thank you enough for taking the time to sing their praises! Please come back and see us again soon.

Lori Hutch: The room was nice and the bed was very comfortable. The included breakfast was nicer than a typical hotel free breakfast. The staff were always very friendly. The location was near many restaurants as well as a short walk to a Metro station, making it accessible to the important places in DC.
Response: Thank you, Lori, for the kind words and the wonderful review!

Park Hyatt Washington D.C.: what do users think?

Patrick Hill: Excellent all around. First off, the location is perfect, tucked away from K Street and close to Rock Creek making it more of a quiet location relative to other parts of the city. The building, lobby etc all look very new, clean and crisp. The room itself was large, modern and had a very comfortable bed. We had one of the Junior Suite with the half bath. It was a great deal using Hyatt Points and paying $100 for the upgrade over a standard room. Enjoyed arriving to fresh cookies as well from the staff. Very nice touch. My one gripe with many Hyatt properties is the pocket door for main bathrooms however the pocket door at the Park Hyatt was substantial and allowed for more privacy. We had both dinner and breakfast room service and both meals were fantastic, delivered on time and well worth the price. I assume everything was cooked from Blue Duck Tavern which has rave reviews. I did not have the opportunity to check out the pool or fitness center, but can only imagine those facilities are top notch. Finally the staff were all friendly and polite. The service like that matters. I look forward to returning again soon.
Response: Greetings Patrick Hill, Thank you very much for taking the time to review our hotel; we appreciate that! We are very happy to hear how much you enjoyed your stay with us and we can't wait to welcome you back again very soon. Best Regards, Donna

Chris Turner: This was our first time staying at the Park Hyatt and it was a wonderful experience. The moment we arrived, the bellhop Jorge, gave us a warm welcome and helped us unload our luggage and four young kids. When we checked in, our room did not have a great view so they upgraded us to the Georgetown Suite and it was phenomenal! The room was gorgeous, spacious, and comfortable. The room service was delicious, especially the breakfast. When we were ready to check out, Jorge once again warmly greeted us and helped us bring our luggage down and load it into our car. I know it can be hard to work on Christmas, but the staff were cheerful and warm. We will definitely stay here again the next time we are in DC.
Response: Chris Turner, We are delighted to hear that your stay met all of your expectations. We will make sure that we let Jorge know that you gave him a rave review as well. We hope to see you again in the near future! Tonia

Mariya K: Good hotel but I expected more from a five star hotel. The front desk staff was friendly except one black man he was a bit rude. Also they should clean their carpet in the front as the first impression when you walk in leaves a feeling of a dirty place. I stayed in a suit and it was nice and had everything you need. The only thing they need to change armchairs as those have old school shrunk covers. I decided to make a reservation for a dinner at the Blue Duck tavern which was recommended by the front desk and I was told they had a Michelin star. I’ve been to Michelin stars restaurants before so I had some high expectations. But the restaurant disappointed me a little bit. First there was a little confusion where the host station was. When I walk in there’s a bar in the front and I told I had a reservation and a barman told I could seat anywhere the I walked further and saw a hostess. I was by myself and they had plenty of empty tables. It was an hour and a half before they close. But they decided to seat me in a totally empty area which I didn’t like even though I asked to seat at the different area which had empty tables. The hostess asked a waiter but he refused. I ordered a cocktail and after sipping I noticed the glass was all dirty which is unacceptable in any restaurant but especially at the restaurant with a Michelin star. The food was tasty. When I received a check I expected they would take that cocktail out of the bill or offer me a discount which they didn’t. So I left with a bitter aftertaste. No wonder why they didn’t receive a star from Michelin for the past years. The service leaves much to be desired.
Response: Hello Kalashnik, Thank you for taking the time to leave your feedback on your recent stay. We appreciate all the feedback we can get about our guests' experiences. Please allow me to apologize for the less than perfect Hyatt experience. Your feedback has been shared with our entire management team, and we will evaluate ways to improve our operation. Again we appreciate your concerns and we will consider your comments while making changes. Thank you for choosing Hyatt. Best, Anisa

Vivian Cheng: Great hotel. Got a junior suite, which was spacious and comfortable. Good lighting in the room too. It was clean and well-maintained. Not a lot of street noise, which is always a bonus. Amenities are nice. Shower pressure is low, but the shower is spacious. Note: Blue Duck Tavern is worth a visit. Also, hotel is about 7 minutes from the Foggy Bottom metro stop.
Response: Greetings Vivian Cheng, Thank you for taking the time to review our hotel and giving us a 5 star rating. We really appreciate that. Very sorry to hear about the water pressure in the shower. this information has been communicated to our team to be addressed. I would agree that the Blue Duck Tavern is worth a visit. We can't wait to welcome you back to the Park Hyatt Washington D.C very soon. Best Regards, Donna

Frederick E Stidam Jr: Great customer service from the manager Mr.Cho ,the valet team, house keeping, and front desk staff. 👏 . Any and everyone we interacted with with was friendly and professional. The room clean spacious and comfortable. This location perfect for access to great dining and fun dining.
Response: Hello There Frederick, Thank you so much for taking the time to leave your feedback on your recent stay. We are overjoyed that our staff at the hotel provided great customer service, we appreciate your kind comments. We are glad to hear we met cleanliness and comfort expectations. We hope to be able to welcome you back soon! Kind Regards, Anisa

Sek Eun John Lee: My wife, our 20-month-old son, and I thoroughly enjoyed our experience at Park Hyatt Washington DC. Staff members were welcoming and professional. Our suite was widely-spaced and gave our family much-needed privacy. Food via room service from Blue Duck Tavern was delicious. Location of the hotel was amazing given its proximity to Georgetown and Dupont Circle. We will definitely stay here again.
Response: Hello Sek Eun John Lee, Thank you for providing your feedback on your recent stay. We are glad you enjoyed your stay with us here at the Park Hyatt Washington D.C. We are glad you enjoyed your room and the food we had to offer. We hope to welcome you back soon again! Kind Regards, Anisa

Adam Wilton: This was my first stay at a Park Hyatt property and I wasn’t sure what to expect, but I had an amazing stay and it is now one of my favorite hotels/brands. The service is excellent with the front desk staff being super friendly and professional - some of the best service I have ever experienced at a hotel. The room was very nice and clean with high end amenities and finishes. Since I booked through AMEX’s FHR program, I received a $100 property credit which I was able to use for room service at the Blue Duck Tavern which had excellent food - truly some of the best food I’ve ever had. Unfortunately there is only valet parking available so I just parked at a George Washington University parking ramp which was much cheaper, but the hotel is actually quite reasonably priced and rivaled some much more expensive 5-star hotels I’ve stayed at. Overall, the Park Hyatt brand shocked me on how nice it is, and I intend to visit more properties in the portfolio when I travel.
Response: Dear Adam Wilton, We are thrilled to be the first Park Hyatt you have stayed with! It is fantastic to hear you had an amazing stay and is now one of your favorite hotels/brand. We are pleased our service was excellent and the front desk staff were super friendly and professional. We are overjoyed that it was some of the best service you have ever experienced! It is wonderful your room was very nice and clean and you enjoyed our Blue Duck Tavern. We are ecstatic it is some of the best food you have ever had! Thank you for the insight on parking and on pricing. We are truly honored you will be visiting more Park Hyatts and will look forward to your next visit with us! Warmest regards, Tonya

Harlen Smith: It is late June 2022 and this hotel is pretending it is June 2020. Except that they are charging 2022 prices while providing 2020 deep covid level services. Tgd staff are great, but there’s no real room service, no minibar, no spa, the pool is closed. The only food available on site is from the Michelin starred restaurant downstairs, which is only open for a few brief windows per day. Breakfast is normal, but lunch and dinner are over wrought and over rich. Not something you can eat multiple days in a row. I paid $800/night to stay in a mid sized suite with my 5 year old. We pay that kind of money because we want access to good food in our room while traveling. Park Hyatt DC did not deliver on that. It’s also about a decade past due for a renovation, but I would have been fine with that if they weren’t pulling a covid service con. Do not stay here until they get their ish together. Even then, management of this hotel has proven that their judgement cannot be trusted. So maybe just don’t ever stay here.
Response: Dear Harlen Smith, Thank you for the feedback. I am sorry to hear you did not enjoy your stay with us . We appreciate the insight on our guest rooms and our food options, as we recover from the impacts of Covid -19. We value your feedback to make improvements. Thank you for staying with us and we hope to have the chance to provide a better experience in the future. Aneshia

Club Quarters Hotel White House, Washington DC: what do users think?

Amanda Sykes: Super friendly staff!! They upgraded me with my pet to a larger room on the top floor with a view of the park across the street. Technology was awesome - could connect phone to TV. Everything was super clean! They also have water on every floor for the guests! The only thing I can “complain” about is there is no parking available. However, there is a garage around the block for $40 overnight. Last, there is no extra fee for a pet. Just have to sign a waiver. Will definitely stay here again if I am ever back in DC!

Tyler Stalletti: Staff was friendly but the hotel is of sub-par quality. Entering the room I actually thought it was great but then I noticed some things. The bathroom is small but it was gross as I smelled mildew. The tile flooring and walls in the shower were covered in mildew. Even the bottom of the show curtain had mildew. The bathroom had a drop ceiling which looked dirty and if the shower had mildew I’m sure the tile ceiling had it also. That’s not the worst part, I noticed when running the air conditioner I began to sneeze. I was out all day on Saturday walking dc with no problem. As soon as I went into my room and turned on the A/C I began sneezing. Left for dinner and kept sneezing which was horrible. After a few hours out I stopped sneezing. As soon as I came back to the hotel room which had the air running I started sneezing again. I can’t guarantee it was the air conditioner but their was definitely something in that room making me sneeze. The remote for TV also had white stuff all over it and was also gross. It was supposed to be all sanitized in a clear bag but obviously not. I honestly almost asked for my money back but the staff was so friendly that I didn’t want to.

Samia Muhammad: This hotel 🏨 is best choice to be near from all activities near by such as White House. I highly recommend this hotel. The stuff especially Aline is amazing and helpful she changed my room next day to have a best view. The lounge in second floor has a fresh coffee ☕️. There is a water free.

Wei Hsu: We stayed here for two days, and I think I chose the best hotel in Washington DC! The location is great! Close to everywhere on foot. Including White House, monument and some museums! Also five mins away from subway station on foot! The service here is also great! The lobby is clean and make people feel comfortable. Next time when I travel to DC, I will choose this place again!

D Howe: Stayed here in May 2022. One of the best big city hotel experiences I’ve had. It’s not fancy and the rooms are basic but they’re spotless, the place is quiet, bathrooms are modern and clean, the staff is polite and helpful. Highly recommend this property. There is a Boulanger in across the street that serves up incredible breakfast items. Right next to a mtetro station.

Ganindu Madhawa: Stayed here for a week in Autumn 2017 and cost me around 260$/day just for the stay without meals. Obviously the rooms are comparatively smaller so was the bathrooms. . However it was perfectly equipped with needs for single person stay and I would say the stay was comfortable. The reception staff was so friendly The place is located in the heart of the busy suburbs and just few hundred yards from The White House, Renwick Gallery and a number of free museums. Rooms were clean.

InterContinental Washington D.C. - The Wharf, an IHG Hotel: what do users think?

Kyle Lennon: Shout Out to Meredith, she is a gem and a half at this hotel! This property is very new and certainly a show stopper, I love the ultramodern design and the bathrooms were stunning. I also loved the balcony overlooking the river and walkways. The bar had great service and great personalities to accompany your cocktails while they served you. Top notch hotel and will certainly make this my preferred DC hotel!

Adrienne Messe: The staff at the InterContinental on the Wharf D.C. is all-round amazing. I am so happy we chose this venue for our recent event. Every member of their team is truly hospitable, and they are dedicated to every client’s success and every guest’s experience. The Sales and Event Managers were helpful/agile partners to us through multiple event date and contract changes, thanks Mayte & Alicia! The Banquet Director was dependable at every moment for our 3 day-event and made sure everything was executed to perfection, thanks George! The hosts at the front door/front desk helped all the guests in our room block have an easy and enjoyable stay for the duration of our event. Thanks to all for helping make our event a success!

Hope Poulsen: Pool is WAY smaller than pictures, we were all shocked at how small. The pool deck gave me and every single one of my friends splinters. And, there are only 5 lounge chairs for the entire pool. Staff is very friendly, but we had to ask for the same requests multiple times. So they seem a little disorganized. Room was very nice & clean and the location is perfect! I chose this rating because of the value - it’s not a terrible place to stay by any means, but you don’t get what you pay for. Not unreasonable to have high expectations when paying almost $500 a night, and this place did not meet those expectations.

Residence Inn by Marriott Washington, DC/Capitol: what do users think?

Mohamed Aburadi: I had a fantastic stay at the Residence Inn in DC/Capitol. I was pleasantly surprised at the cleanliness and amenities in the rooms. The ladies at the front desk were very kind and extremely helpful. They explained everything amazingly and made our stay very enjoyable! The hotel was within walking distance from the main attractions. I highly recommend this location and will return to this location in the future.

Elizabeth Long: Very nice hotel, excellent location and amazing value. Check in was a breeze and staff was super friendly. Breakfast is great even during Covid times, they still have a full hot breakfast. Parking can be tricky but we found a couple of spots upon our late night return.

Jenny Teng: Conveniently located that we could walk to our points of interests in DC. Great value for our stay of 3 nights. Room was clean and spacious. Due to a tall building across the street, our room was a bit dim even with all lights on. Nice staff and good service. Breakfast was good.

James Stewart Jr: Landed in this hotel as part of a larger group reservation, and only because somebody else canceled. I hit the jackpot! Prior to arrival spoke with Louise (I believe), manager who assisted me with an issue with reservation. Could not have been any more helpful ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Checked in on 5/14, clerk Jackie I believe, just PERFECT, polite, helpful, parking tips, just a great asset to Residence Inn ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Room-Top-Notch! Full size fridge, microwave, dishwasher, plates, utensils, big screen TV, strong water pressure in the shower, zero complaints⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great, free, hot, buffet style breakfast too! 12 minute walk to US Capitol building. Highly recommend ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Serelle Taylor: Check in was smooth, easy and staff was friendly. Our room was clean. Thos hotel is so close to everything. I would 100% stay here again with family and kids. Easy access to National monuments, transportation and restraunts. My son enjoyed the pool. Breakfast was good. I was hesitant from reading previous reviews, but I can assure you our stay was great!

Beacon Hotel & Corporate Quarters: what do users think?

June T: Unfortunately, my stay at the Beacon Hotel was very mediocre and this place seems more like a cheap motel because of how outdated all of the appliances are Such as the temperature control, TV, closet door and shower. Cons: There is no refrigerator or microwave in the room, I was told if I needed a microwave I could go to the third-floor and use the communal microwave. There must be something loose in the air vents or maybe outside of my window because I could hear something that sounded like pots and pans banging in the wind, It seems to be coming from the ceiling directly above me but definitely not another guest because the noise was too consistent. I heard this noise at least 2-3 times a minute each day/all night despite not really being in the room during the day time. The bath faucet constantly dripped, Either a couple drops or a constant stream even hours after taking a shower. I had a north facing window, they really need to renovate the windows with double or triple pane to keep out noise from the traffic circle. Lots of angry honking during the day and police sirens at night. I booked a 3 night stay and every morning around 8am housekeeping would try to enter my room (without verbally announcing themselves) even though I had the Do Not Disturb sign on my door. I am from the West Coast, so 8am feels like 5am to me, I’d get woken up *every single morning* of my stay to the sound of someone trying to force into my room against the deadbolt which would put me in a panic until I remembered it’s just housekeeping. Pros: Clean hotel and my room was clean. I really liked the lay out of my room and all the surface space provided. Front desk and housekeeping staff was very friendly when I would see them in the hallways. The coffee from the coffee pods they provide for the machine in room was tasty. Very convenient location, I picked this place because it’s easy walking distance from both Farragut North and West metro stops. Ultimately I would never stay here again because I had so many issues with either noise from outside or inside the hotel waking me up throughout the night. For someone who is a heavy sleeper these things probably will not bother you. After reading other reviews I am definitely going to keep an eye on my bank statements to make sure I get my $150 ($50/day) deposit back. Other reviews mentioned issues with hot water or the key cards, but I did not have these issues personally. Bar and Grill was closed and has been for many many months. Any reviews that are recent and mention the restaurant being open are likely paid fake reviews.
Response: Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. This is very important to us and we will be discussing solutions with our management team to improve our services.

Mark West: An above average hotel but the room needs a little maintenance attention. Wallpaper was pealing off in a few areas and the plug in the bathroom sink was not functioning, had to remove it so the water could drain. A little pricey but due to its location. Restaurant is not open right now. There was no refrigerator in the room. For a room that costs over $200 a night to stay, that should be standard equipment. The staff is accommodating though. We have a late flight so they let us leave our luggage after check out
Response: Thank you for the kind words, Mark! Our team is delighted knowing you appreciated our efforts and service. We always aim to provide our guests with a perfect stay, so we're disheartened to know about your concerns. We will be discussing this situation with our team. We look forward to hosting you again soon!

Ariana Ramirez: This hotel is definitely over rated. My worst hotel experience ever by far. I am really big on reading reviews before I go places but I took a chance on the Beacon & I absolutely regret it. It was an uncomfortable stay. The staff was very professional and had great hospitality though. The room was very small, there was dust all over the bed side tables and phone. The bed sheets and pillow cases had stains of blood. The filter for the heating was fire hazard filthy. No microwave, no fridge, no ice machine & parking is very expensive at almost $60 a night including tax. If you are out by the time valet leaves for the night, once you return you will have to park out front of the hotel instead of in the underground garage. Oh & don’t forget the hotel fees for things that you won’t even use or that’s closed.
Response: Thank you for your feedback we will address your issues with our team.

Steve Jenkins: We recently stayed at the beacon hotel and corporate quarters in Washington DC. This was singularly one of the worst hotel stays in over 30 years of staying hotels around the world. The list of issues is expansive, and started before check in. So I was traveling for work and booked over three weeks out, as we were flying in from Hawaii after an overnight flight, we requested an early check in at 1pm. The message that we received said they would do their best to help us out. On arrival, the man behind behind the desk was like the soup guy from Seinfeld and insisted that there were no early check ins and that check I was 3pm. It wasn’t that he wasn’t polite, he was just outright rude. On check in we were also advised that’s restaurant is closed, the rooftop bar is closed and there is limited housekeeping due to COVID, despite this there is a $28 daily resort fee 😕. We were the put into a different room. To that which was booked, it’s a standard queen, and was tiny. After clarifying they moved us to a deluxe double double, which was roomier, but was tired and old, with a shower that has water, but no water pressure. Every day the room cards did not work, and resulted in multiple trips to reception to have them reset. Not once, not even once did anyone at reception acknowledge any issue with the room key system, in fact they used all standard hotel excuses about you must have put it near your phone, your credit cards etc etc. the thing is it was soooo widespread and whenever we would be getting a reset there would be a line, it was just unacceptable and avoidable. The 2 lifts in the building are tiny, slow and barely functioning. And finally to checkout, by this point we expected little, and the management didn’t let us down. As we were leaving at 4am in the morning, I went down the evening prior and requested to finalize my account and gain a receipt, so we could just drop keys and go in the morning. I was told this wasn’t possible as the cost of the final night didn’t click in until midnight, so I requested that the reception representative just process it at midnight and then have a printout that I could collect when I left. The reception representative said that as she was leaving before midnight this couldn’t be done and I would have to call down to have this done before I left. In addition the rate on the invoice was more than that quoted, when I showed the reception representative the emails I had received from the hotel, with the hotels email address, she denied that it had come from the hotel, and insisted it was from a third party booking agent. This was the cherry on the very average cake of disappointment that this stay was. I can honestly say that I will NEVER stay in this hotel again, and I would strongly advise that you are better to join the homeless lady at the nearby park, rather than put up with rude, incompetent staff, and unacceptable facilities.
Response: Thank you very much for taking the time to leave us your feedback, Steve. We will have a team member reach out to you about your review.

Courtyard by Marriott Washington, DC/U.S. Capitol: what do users think?

BC Turk: To start, the valet parking is outrageous but there is a garage literally right down the same road for about a third the price. The staff is super friendly. Housekeeping would speak to us and ask if we needed anything as we headed to the elevators. Everyone was always saying, Have a good day”. The amenities within the hotel room were good. We checked the sheets and filters and all was clean. Sheets are super thin but worked out okay. Fridge, microwave, coffee maker, and sink/bar. All the you need. I like the security they have coming in. It is a two minute walk to the Metro (red line). Would recommend for location being close to a walking path and the Metro.

Garrett Robak: Extremely friendly staff from the front desk, the cafe, management, housekeepers, and valet. Everyone was so pleasant and made the stay that much more enjoyable. The hotel is very modern and has very comfortable amenities. The hotel is also located in a really great section of DC where there are a ton of restaurants and shops that are within walking distance.
Response: Greetings Garrett Robak, Thank you so much for staying with us at Courtyard Washington DC US Capitol and providing us with feedback on your experience. Our team understands that providing genuine customer service is the key element that makes our valued guests such as yourself continuing coming back! We hope to see you on your next journey to the Nation's Capital. Hotel Leadership Team

Jean Ng: We read a lot of negative reviews about this place and some is kinda true. Parking is an issue BUT we found a garage just across from the hotel inside the ELEVATION BUILDING which a full day charge is only $16 max. We left the car in the garage for the entire week stay and just use the metro as our main transportation. The room we got was nice and comfortable. Although we have an issue with the AC. The temperature is constantly at 73 even tho we set it for 68. A little stain on the couch but no big deal. The room also have good noise insulation (maybe I just slept through it since we walk so much during the day) Big shout out to Miss Nu who checked us in. She just brighten our day and made us feel special. There is a refreshment table set up with coffee tea water and cookies for free after the breakfast period. Tons of food options around and trader joe’s is just 6mins away on foot towards Union Market.

ESB NYC: Busy and basic Marriott in NE DC. It was fine for what we needed but I’m not too enthusiastic. Room was clean. There were some kinda gross stains on the sofa/ottoman that were unappealing but we’re not too fussy. They charge $45+tax for daily parking but you can self-park across the street for $16 a day including tax, literally 3 minutes walk. The morning coffee situation was not very well organized. There were also some strange service issues with the front desk. We stayed in the same room but we utilized two separate reservations, the front desk seemed very confused about this and they came up to our room with a rather confrontational demand that we come downstairs to check out and check into the room again although we had been told on the phone that we were good to go. Not really a big deal but I felt that the aggressive posture was unnecessary and left me with a bad taste. On top of that, I am a gold Bonvoy member and I would’ve been entitled to a room upgrade which I declined for the convenience of remaining in the same room. One thing that I believe some other people commented about is that you cannot control the temperature in your room effectively. There is a thermostat and you can make the numbers move up and down a bit but it doesn’t appear to have any effect on the temperature in the room which seems to be controlled centrally. There were a couple of evenings where we were uncomfortably warm. On the plus side, you are just a couple of minutes from the Noma metro station and there is also a Dunkin’ Donuts close to that. You’re also about a 8 to 10 minute walk from the Union market area which has a Trader Joe’s and some great restaurants and other food options inside the market. If not for the convenience of the location and the comparatively reasonable price, this would probably be a three star review.
