Capitol Skyline: what do users think?

BigTexXxDogg Tex: Stayed here in March 2020 right before "pandemic" was in full swing, we had a great stay. The breakfasts were amazing and it is in a great location I could see the top of the capital building from my room.

Jen Fitzpatrick: I prepaid for my room months ago through Hotels.com. I was traveling to run in the Credit Union Cherry Blossom 10 Miler and needed something within walking distance to the start. 11 hours before check-in, I was notified that the hotel canceled my reservation. Needless to say, I was unable to find other accommodations less that $400/night.

Jason Alredge: The hotel is used to help homeless people through a program called PEP-V. The rooms are spacious with microwave and mini-fridge. In addition, there are a bunch of stores and a Metro station to go wherever you want.

Center Mass Content: Closed since Covid hit. Cool retro-vibe to the building(been updated) enjoyed previous stays & the Capitol Views are un paralleled.

Jim Tolbert: Hosted a training with 90 people. The hotel was great. Staff were courteous, rooms were clean and nice. Not too high price considering the great location. The food they brought in to the training was very good. And a nice complimentary breakfast. Oh yeah, the location is amazingly close to House and Senate office buildings for fly ins.

Adimu J: This hotel is just okay. Checking in was okay. The lobby looks very nice and the room was a decent size. The floor I stayed on smelled of mildew which was a turn off. The bathroom was small and the tub was peeling. It was peeling so bad I thought it was dirty and went and brought products to clean it. There was also a bug in the tub and I could not control the air in my room. It was heat only which is crazy to me. There were also a few stains on the linen.

Kimpton Hotel Monaco Washington DC: what do users think?

Shining Starzz: I’ve stayed in hotels all around the world and this is my favorite. Front staff was friendly and sociable. Check-in was easy. Free happy hour in the evening. High vault ceilings in the rooms, which are well decorated. Large full mirror in the rooms and little things like the jewelry box, umbrella, yoga mat, exotic animal print robes and natural soap make a big difference. Only disappointment was the view from my window.

Susan Payne: Friendly, attentive staff, spacious lobby and guest rooms with funky meets traditional furnishings, soaring ceilings, and comfy beds. Perfect location for Smithsonian and within walking distance to the Tidal Basin/cherry blossoms. We felt very safe walking around. Complimentary coffee in the mornings and wine in the evenings - a nice touch. Several very good restaurants within a few steps from the hotel in every direction, including a lively restaurant/bar with outdoor seating in the hotel’s own courtyard. We’re hoping to make this an annual trip!

Ray Bentley: This was the WORST experience of my life. When I arrived my room was not prepared at 3pm on a Saturday! We ended up not being able to change and we’re late to an engagement. I asked the staff when and why our rooms were not ready and they gave us no timeline until I asked for the third time. Upon asking the front desk attendant was extremely rude when I really tried to be overly nice about the situation. Upon my room being prepared they didn’t apologize and might as well have just thrown my hotel card keys at me. When I asked what they could do to accommodate the issues we experienced, she said nothing. They finally gave us fifty dollars credit to a restaurant at the hotel. When we went to check out they also tried charging us for the fifty dollars we used at the restaurant and basically called me a liar until I explained how terrible of a stay I had. Going further our rooms were not cleaned the entire weekend and they blamed it on staffing and Covid issues. They did not adjust our price even though we booked through American Express travel. The worst part of all of this was the fire alarm that went off at 2am requiring the entire hotel to exit. They chose to rent out there lounge on the roof that evening to a 21st birthday party in which someone pulled the fire alarm. This place is a frat house not a hotel. It’s very disappointing because the furniture and ambiance of the space was great. A manager was supposed to call me after I checked out and I have received nothing of the kind. Worst stay I’ve ever had in a hotel and I travel for work all the time. Location and hotel furniture fixtures plus, everything else was absolutely terrible. Disappointing. Zero stars if I could.

Chad Rea: Stayed here 4 nights for a work conference and must say it was disappointing for a luxury branded IHG/Kimpton property. The hotel absolutely has some bold decor choices (which I kind of enjoyed) with the furniture and wallpaper. Rooms - I stayed in room 218, the bed was too soft for my liking, and the pillows were not great quality. The room also had an unusual smell which I could not identify. The weather was in the low 30s during my stay, and the thermostat would not go above 65 no matter high I set the heater temperature (thankfully I like my rooms cold). The restaurant "Dirty Habit" was really good, the charcoal bun burger was phenomenal. The location is perfect, I was across the street from the Wizards arena, and within walking distance of a ton of great restaurants and all of the smithsonian museums. Big Plus! And I must shout out the exceptional service. The staff was excellent, front desk was helpful and check-in was a breeze. Waiting staff during the provided conference meals were very attentive. The bellmen were also friendly and accommodating. Daily housekeeping was great. And the complimentary wine (in evening) and coffee (in the morning) in the lobby was a nice touch. Overall, solid hotel, great staff, but desperately in need of a makeover.

Matthew Radomski: The service was fantastic. We were welcomed by Belinda at the front desk when we checked in. There was a small error with our reservation (used a 3rd party app) and it took them maybe 2-3 minutes to fix the error. Belinda and another gentleman at the front desk went out of their way to make upgraded accommodations for us, and ensure we had a great time. Throughout our entire stay, we were greeted by name and asked how everything was. I could not have asked for better service.

Jeremy: Unless you have a written guarantee that you will NOT be in a basement room, don’t stay here. The basement rooms are musty and provide a view of the sidewalk and garbage cans. Staff were less than helpful as I watched guests who arrived after me get checked in. All of this well past the posted 3:00pm check-in time.

The Dupont Circle Hotel: what do users think?

Chiamaka Ukachukwu: I stayed here for just one night on a business trip and had a lovely experience. Beautiful room and location. In the heart of the city close to many food options. Staff were friendly, warm, and welcoming. I cannot comment on pricing as my room was paid for but it was an excellent stay. Loved my room and felt so relaxed! Would love to come back! Special thank you to Femi, a receptionist who was very accommodating at check in and check out.

Chris Sanders: Stayed here in 2017. White glove experience all around for my entire stay. Fitness room is way more than I expected in a hotel gym. Really nice cardio equipment. Minimal strength equipment but high quality. Great location in Dupont Circle with plenty of restaurant options around the hotel as well as their own bar and cafe. Small business center was great for grabbing a couple of quick conference calls right when I arrived. Highly recommend for biz or pleasure. Great experience!

Danielle El Kadi Levin: My husband and I had an excellent stay. Farrah the GM was fantastic! The housekeeping was top notch. The rooms were very comfortable. Staff was so kind, look out for John and Christopher, they’re lovely people. Thank you staff of the DuPont Circle !!! We felt very at home. Tons of little details that make all the difference.

Megan Barnes: I recently had my wedding block here at the Dupont Circle Hotel and could not be more pleased with the hotel. The upgrades made it feel like a five star experience for our guests from the moment they checked in. The rooms were beautiful, the bar was perfect for our welcome drinks, and the Pembroke restaurant was perfect for a bridal breakfast the day before the festivities began. I would be remiss by not sharing how incredible Svetlin was leading up to our big day. It would not have been as seamless without his help. Christina was key in securing our incredible rate for our guests to make the weekend so special for our family and friends traveling into the city. You will no regret your stay here.

Sarah Bell: Who doesn’t love a turn down service?? Can’t say enough good things about this hotel; when I lived in DC I used to frequent their bar/restaurant regularly but this is my first time staying as an overnight guest. The staff has been lovely and the room is great, too. Will absolutely book again when I’m back in town.

Derrik C: I had such a great stay here. The rooms were beautiful and clean, the staff was so helpful and welcoming, and the location was perfect. I will definitely stay here again when I’m in DC. Also, the valet parking service is amazing. I stress about parking whenever I’m in the city and this was a life saver and the valets were wonderful.

Reb O: Do not stay here. We accidentally left an expensive pair of shoes on the closet floor in our room. We called almost immediately when we realized this on the ride home. The hotel told us they would call us back immediately after speaking to housekeeping. They did not call us back at all. We had to call the next morning. By this time, hours and hours passing, we were tossed around to various people and the conclusion was that they did not find the shoes in the room. They kept calling this a “lost item”. The shoes were not a lost item, they were a “left” item. It’s unfortunate that you can’t accidentally leave some thing in your room and have an honest staff member return it to you. After talking to multiple managers on the phone, they did not want to do anything about the shoes. I will never stay in a hotel that steals from you. Beware.

C L: The hotel rooms are beyond tiny - not even a door for the bathroom, and the ceiling heights are so low, even at 5’3 I️ can’t breathe. Service is the worst part, I️ have never met so many apathetic people in one place. At checkout we called 3 times to request a dolly. The first time they adamantly denied that our room number even existed 🤯 and then the next two times they said they were sending one up. Didn’t happen. We had to carry all of our luggage down by hand (we have a child so this included a travel crib, stroller, and 2 suitcases. Upon leaving no one even offered us a hand. When I️ was exiting the elevator with my child in the stroller and carrying 3 bags, there was a man with a loaded dolly standing outside the elevator and would not make space for me to get by. I’m positively shocked that this place is in business and that this was my experience. How does this place have good reviews?? The only redeemable moment was meeting the lady from housekeeping who gave my kid chocolate and was so kind to us. She should be paid way more than any of those a-holes at the front desk. Complete waste of space and money. Worst hotel I’ve ever stayed at.

Hotel Washington: what do users think?

Jacob Lopez (JL): I wish I could give 5 stars! The view was fantastic and the lobby. It’s central to so many activities and restaurants to choose. Staff is very friendly and helpful. It’s kid friendly. The location is key! The sink was very small, and breakfast needs to improve. The hotel room didn’t have a food menu! When checking in… the concierge didn’t provide me with any information regarding hotel amenities!

Doug Dickinson: Highly recommend this Hotel. The location is perfect, close to all the main DC attractions. The staff was amazing, very helpful and friendly. The rooms were nice and very clean. The best park of the hotel is the rooftop restaurant and bar that overlooks the White House. Went there for a few drinks at night. The music was good and bartenders were great.

Peter Grambs: This is a great property in a great location. Newly renovated and it shows. Room was fantastic (we got a slightly larger King) with great views. Loved the rooftop bar. Front desk staff was great and took an extra moment to find us a room with a view. The location is right in the middle of things - walkable to the mall and all the museums and right across the street from the White House. Lots of restaurant choices nearby too.

James Wills: Stayed for a two day trip to DC sightseeing. Fantastic central location to the Mall. Service was great and rooms were spotless! Definitely recommend! Gym was new and had a range of cardio machines and weights. Showers in the room were very funky to! The roof top bar provides great views across the White house park opposite.

Yuhan Wang: Stay here if you can accept its price. The location is perfect. The room is a little bit small, with a super super tiny sink. But you can feel the small details that they provide in the room. One of the staff at the front desk is not very friendly. The room inside is very clean, but they definitely need to clean their windows. I could barely see the outside buildings clearly with that much dirt on the window.

John Haines: The best part of the Hotel Washington is definitely its extremely central location in DC, it is near virtually all the sights. The front desk is not vey good, the three times I interacted with them they barely gave me the time of day. At one point I forgot my key in my room and asked for another and the person at the desk glared at me and gave me the new key without saying a word. The room was fine, although the view out the window was literally staring at a concrete wall. There is also no easy way to find out about the amenities for the hotel, I had to call the concierge multiple times for simple questions like how to order room service or the housekeeping hours. Overall the hotel is fine, but for the price I do not think it is worth it, if you are going to spend 400$ a night on a room you might as well go someplace a little less barren.

Kim Sousa: We booked our stay here for a high end experience. Due to the hotel hosting large wedding parties, guests were disrespectful with their noise level to the point that it woke me up out of a dead sleep and the noise went on passed midnight. I called the desk and they sent security which appeared to only make guests even more disrespectful. Then a second wedding group had well over 10 people in their room and were cheering and being so loud even in the hallway. After my first complaint to the front desk it took at least 2 hours until the noise was finished. When we spoke to the manager the next day he gave us 50% off that night of our stay ($250– we are talking a $500 per night room plus tax). He also added that noise after hours is considered 2am…. I think that is pretty late for a high end hotel. To top it off, when I got home I noticed a really nice expensive leather bag I never even took out of my suitcase during my stay, went missing. The only people alone with my suitcase during my entire trip was housekeeping (i brought a small carry on suitcase). I called the hotel lost and found as soon as I got home and the hotel said to call the next day at noon because housekeeping did not claim anything into lost in found yet….. The hotel itself is a work of art, staff were friendly (for the most part), and location is near most museums and monuments. But locked up your things and hopefully you are a party animal. Pretty disappointed since it had been a really long time since I travelled for leisure.

Hyatt Regency Washington On Capitol Hill: what do users think?

Maureen Jackson: Staff were beyond friendly and always smiling. Made our stay very enjoyable. Rooms were clean and so quiet. The restaurant was awesome from the breakfast to dinner. We ate a few times in restaurant and the wait staff remembered us and made it very homey. Quality of food was excellent. Never had a bad meal. Best hotel experience for us in a long time. Within easy walking distance of the mall

Lisa Van Aartsen: Service excellent, rooms clean, like the efficiency yet stylish way it is styled. Lights too bright in the bathroom and unable to decrease. Used a bath towel over the light to dim it down. Would be nice to have bottles of water in room to go with coffee maker... right? Grab and go currently for meals at the restaurant. Not much for choices. Very nice store including Starbucks coffee, very appreciative of that. Sheets very smooth, pleasant, bed comfy, could be better, could be worse. Nicely located. Will go again.

Jeff Ery: Room was awful. Beds were super soft and the room temp was set at 65 but I felt as hot as fish grease in lent. Woke up in a sweat every night. Location was awesome though. Breakfast was good too. Bar has stiff drinks. The room though.... Yech.

Brenda Orffer: The Hyatt Regency is a great location for easy access to capital buildings (meetings), great food and restaurants, and to DCA Airport. Right now, April 1, the hotel is not offering room service, and housekeeping is not provided unless requested. Otherwise, things seem to be all systems go. Masks are encouraged but not required. The hotel has hand sanitizer stations throughout as well. The desk and office chair in the rooms are not well matched for height. Very uncomfortable seating for a long period of time. Thankfully there is lots of lobby and social space to find a place to work more comfortably. There is a small fridge in the room, but no water is stocked in the room. You can get bottled water from front desk and valet desk if you request it.

Courtyard by Marriott Washington, DC/U.S. Capitol: what do users think?

BC Turk: To start, the valet parking is outrageous but there is a garage literally right down the same road for about a third the price. The staff is super friendly. Housekeeping would speak to us and ask if we needed anything as we headed to the elevators. Everyone was always saying, Have a good day”. The amenities within the hotel room were good. We checked the sheets and filters and all was clean. Sheets are super thin but worked out okay. Fridge, microwave, coffee maker, and sink/bar. All the you need. I like the security they have coming in. It is a two minute walk to the Metro (red line). Would recommend for location being close to a walking path and the Metro.

Garrett Robak: Extremely friendly staff from the front desk, the cafe, management, housekeepers, and valet. Everyone was so pleasant and made the stay that much more enjoyable. The hotel is very modern and has very comfortable amenities. The hotel is also located in a really great section of DC where there are a ton of restaurants and shops that are within walking distance.

Jean Ng: We read a lot of negative reviews about this place and some is kinda true. Parking is an issue BUT we found a garage just across from the hotel inside the ELEVATION BUILDING which a full day charge is only $16 max. We left the car in the garage for the entire week stay and just use the metro as our main transportation. The room we got was nice and comfortable. Although we have an issue with the AC. The temperature is constantly at 73 even tho we set it for 68. A little stain on the couch but no big deal. The room also have good noise insulation (maybe I just slept through it since we walk so much during the day) Big shout out to Miss Nu who checked us in. She just brighten our day and made us feel special. There is a refreshment table set up with coffee tea water and cookies for free after the breakfast period. Tons of food options around and trader joe’s is just 6mins away on foot towards Union Market.

ESB NYC: Busy and basic Marriott in NE DC. It was fine for what we needed but I’m not too enthusiastic. Room was clean. There were some kinda gross stains on the sofa/ottoman that were unappealing but we’re not too fussy. They charge $45+tax for daily parking but you can self-park across the street for $16 a day including tax, literally 3 minutes walk. The morning coffee situation was not very well organized. There were also some strange service issues with the front desk. We stayed in the same room but we utilized two separate reservations, the front desk seemed very confused about this and they came up to our room with a rather confrontational demand that we come downstairs to check out and check into the room again although we had been told on the phone that we were good to go. Not really a big deal but I felt that the aggressive posture was unnecessary and left me with a bad taste. On top of that, I am a gold Bonvoy member and I would’ve been entitled to a room upgrade which I declined for the convenience of remaining in the same room. One thing that I believe some other people commented about is that you cannot control the temperature in your room effectively. There is a thermostat and you can make the numbers move up and down a bit but it doesn’t appear to have any effect on the temperature in the room which seems to be controlled centrally. There were a couple of evenings where we were uncomfortably warm. On the plus side, you are just a couple of minutes from the Noma metro station and there is also a Dunkin’ Donuts close to that. You’re also about a 8 to 10 minute walk from the Union market area which has a Trader Joe’s and some great restaurants and other food options inside the market. If not for the convenience of the location and the comparatively reasonable price, this would probably be a three star review.

Renaissance Washington, DC Downtown Hotel: what do users think?

Rebecca C: I would give this a solid 3/3.5 stars. I must admit, since it’s a 4 star hotel, we expected a bit more. I’m going to guess they had to cut some amenities due to COVID. The night staff seemed friendlier than the morning staff. The bathroom was fine (I read a few before going that it was moldy). The water does take quite some time to stop dripping after you turn it off but the pressure was fine. You can definitely tell they used bleach/serious cleaners. Did notice some stains on the shower curtain and bed but could just be from use over the years. The best part really was location in terms of distance from certain attractions. That and the fact that Starbucks was in the lobby (they open early but close early as well). They also have a easy to use and relatively spacious safe. If I’m honest, I can’t say we will be choosing this hotel again the next time but overall, it was a fine experience.

Wesley Sparks: I am a loyal Marriott member, Platinum Elite so far this year. Overall this location is great for Convention Center trade shows. I ate an omelette for breakfast and it was definitely than I expected for a busy morning service time. Did not try the restaurant for other meal times, but the bar is pretty nice and well run. The beer list leaves a little to be desired. Main thing that keeps it from getting five stars is somehow I got placed in a “European” room, which means small bed, small room.

M M: The location of the hotel ist great. You can reach most attraction in Washington DC per foot. The staff at the front desk was friendly. The cleanliness left a lot to be desired. Our room was completely forgotten to be cleaned for one day! Instead of a clean room and fresh towels we got a page long detailed letter of apology. Does this happen possibly often🤔?

Lou Costanza: This is definitely a four star hotel. The staff are amazing. They were welcoming and accommodating. The room was clean, well appointed and comfortable. I had a nice city view on the 8th floor. Starbucks is conveniently located on the main level. I will definitely be back.

Carolyn Montoya: I believe this hotel is under rated! I loved my room and appreciated the convenience of a Starbucks in the lobby. I had a rocky flight coming in and the woman in the hotel snack shop was so helpful in finding ginger ale for me! This trip was for a conference, next time would stay here as a tourist as I love the location!

Hotel Hive: what do users think?

Jennifer Cordero: Perfect for a short stay with a small party of people. The atmosphere is warm, fun, cozy, and comfortable. I LOVE the decor. The Hive exemplifies efficient use of space, and accommodations are readily available. Carlos was a big help for us and went above and beyond expectations, bringing us a compact mini fridge directly to our room to keep some leftovers in when we asked if we could store our food anywhere. The bar has a lovely atmosphere and the drinks are top notch. The bartender we had was awesome and I wish I got her name. I intend to stay here any time I visit DC because I loved everything about it. Can’t recommend it enough!

Leigh Jacobs: Highly recommend staying here! 11/10! Great location, staff is so nice and accommodating. Coffee, pizza, bar and rooftop onsite (what more could you ask for). Room was spacious enough and clean! Brooke was so helpful and recommended local restaurants. Walking distance to Georgetown, Washington monument and much more. Only micro feel I got was from the elevator- if you are claustrophobic take the the stairs ha! Can’t wait to come back! Thank you for a great stay.

robert whitmore: Huge Disappointment. Stayed Thur 5/12 - Mon 5/15. Reception area tiny and had to wait outside since there was no room in the lobby to wait and we were told we could not wait in the bar area. The bar is the worst - no brand names at all from Makers Mark down to Coke products. One person working the bar that was nearly full. The room was small, bathroom tiny, no iron, no coffee maker and not even a closet - instead a hook on the wall with 2 hangers and a box to put things in and roll under the bed. I hung my tux on the shower wall. Walls are paper thin and you could hear the next door guests. The only food at all was at the adjacent pizza place, The hotel is not close at all to any other restaurants.. We order on Sunday and we were told only 2 types (out of the many on the menu) were available- plain and white and absolutely no toppings. They were bland and room temperature. There is NOTHING boutique about this hotel.

Woody Coley: Style and visual interest does not have to be expensive. Well conceived boutique property with touches missed in larger hotels. Compact, but functional rooms. Perfect location. Active rooftop, look forward to the elevator ride!

Maria Jose Valero: The hotel was more than expected! Very practical, sparkling clean, parking just a couple blocks away for 24$, and the staff was amazing! They give us great recommendations of places to eat and visit. Also don’t forget to visit the bar and eat some pizza! We got the jalapeño Margarita and a rum punch with maverick and American honey Pizzas and we’re amazed!

Alec Augustine-Marceil: Very good rooms if you are traveling solo, and need to be downtown. The bar is nice and the staff are happier than the average front desk people. Would stay again.

InterContinental Washington D.C. - The Wharf, an IHG Hotel: what do users think?

Kyle Lennon: Shout Out to Meredith, she is a gem and a half at this hotel! This property is very new and certainly a show stopper, I love the ultramodern design and the bathrooms were stunning. I also loved the balcony overlooking the river and walkways. The bar had great service and great personalities to accompany your cocktails while they served you. Top notch hotel and will certainly make this my preferred DC hotel!

Adrienne Messe: The staff at the InterContinental on the Wharf D.C. is all-round amazing. I am so happy we chose this venue for our recent event. Every member of their team is truly hospitable, and they are dedicated to every client’s success and every guest’s experience. The Sales and Event Managers were helpful/agile partners to us through multiple event date and contract changes, thanks Mayte & Alicia! The Banquet Director was dependable at every moment for our 3 day-event and made sure everything was executed to perfection, thanks George! The hosts at the front door/front desk helped all the guests in our room block have an easy and enjoyable stay for the duration of our event. Thanks to all for helping make our event a success!

Hope Poulsen: Pool is WAY smaller than pictures, we were all shocked at how small. The pool deck gave me and every single one of my friends splinters. And, there are only 5 lounge chairs for the entire pool. Staff is very friendly, but we had to ask for the same requests multiple times. So they seem a little disorganized. Room was very nice & clean and the location is perfect! I chose this rating because of the value - it’s not a terrible place to stay by any means, but you don’t get what you pay for. Not unreasonable to have high expectations when paying almost $500 a night, and this place did not meet those expectations.

InterContinental the Willard Washington D.C., an IHG Hotel: what do users think?

Kelly McCarthy: Beautiful hotel. Tradition and old Washington charm surround you. Next to the White House. Built in 1918 there are so many beautiful details. Don’t miss the Famous round robin bar. Check in with seamless and the customer service was exceptional. The rooms are spotless and much of the staff has been here for generations. I highly recommend this hotel.

Hugh Shoff: We spent the night here before the Easter egg roll at the white house. It was exceptional. Easy to get in everything was right up front. You do pay for a premium but due to the location it was well worth it. The room was clean and nice. We had the high tea and that was quite the experience. If you go during the Cherry blossom festival we have the option of drinking tea with the Cherry blossom cuttings and that was quite the experience. I would highly recommend this. We only had pastries and coffee from the cafe and they were good. It is a five-star hotel.

Catherine Petty: Tea was lovely!! Would recommend highly for any events you have coming up. The staff was great, very helpful and the food was delicious. Surprisingly filling for it being so small. They even offer gluten free options. The harpist was also a lovely touch - she played beautifully. Will be back, especially around Christmas time!

Jess S.: I stayed here for thanksgiving back in 2019 and had a bit of an issue with concierge… the issue has since been resolved and taken care of… and all in all the room service was good and the hotel smelled fine. The hotel is beautiful but in a vintage way but … Flash forward to Feb 2022, I walked into the hotel to use the facilities and even with my mask on I noticed the lobby and hallway to the had a strong musty odor like that distinct moisture damage odor not saying that the hotel has moisture damage…but it’s clearly old and smells as such…and is in need of a renovation While I will most likely will stay at the Intercontinental in DC again in the future it will definitely be at the newer location at the Wharf

S R Das: Disappointed to see that the service at this storied Washington DC hotel has fallen substantially. This was my first stay here since the pandemic started. At the middle of the day - a busy time - there was only 1 person at the front desk. She seemed unsure of what she was doing, calling repeatedly for advice. I was second in line and had to wait 20 minutes. The line, meanwhile, was growling. Even though people asked her to get help (a second person), she ignored that. I found out later she had overcharged me (100 dollars more on the credit card, she added the deposit.) Yesterday when I got in at 950 pm thanks to a delayed flight, the front desk said that the kitchen was open for 10 minutes and would take my order. In the restaurant, however, the waiter said no. All in all, a less than ideal experience. As the person behind me said, no longer a 5-star experience and doesn’t justify the steep price.

The Hay-Adams: what do users think?

Bill Maniatis: From the moment the door is opened for you, you will know that you are walking intro a most beautiful well maintained historical hotel. The facility is so well maintained and he attention to detail is second to none! Everything is clean and organized to perfection! Adding to that facility is the amazing staff! So helpful and polite and willing to perform the jobs so amazingly well. Proper turn down service, friendly and polite and so friendly This is the only place to stay in! The location is wonderful and extremely convenient however what makes The Hey Adams standout is the wonderful staff, attention to detail and how the hotel is maintained. Thank you all so much!

Evan D: Average person review: visiting from the South, and it’s an odd way to type out a review on how employees at a hotel can make you feel like you’re family here while thinking about how it’s their job to do so. It’s not a forced smile they put on, but rather a genuine atmosphere in all that they do for you. My bed was made multiple times a day, my dirty clothes were neatly folded in a small area in the room and I always had fresh towels. (It’s just a big thing for me) As I said before, the staff was more than welcoming! One gentlemen opened the door with a smile outside, and another opened it with a smile on the inside. I’m not anything special, but the Hay Adams staff sure did make me feel as if I was the most important person visiting for the next few days! Breakfast was outstanding; again, I’m a Southerner so breakfast is our staple. Didn’t get a chance to see the rooftop bar after walking 8 miles around DC because we were tired but everything about the inside and restaurant were perfect. As I said in the beginning is exactly what I want to say by ending; it’s a very hard way to describe how this building and staff make you feel like you’re family, and not just a temporary resident to fill a budget quota. There’s truly an indescribable feeling that walking into the Hay Adams is just like going to a distant relatives house. You don’t see them every day, but when you first arrive on the front porch, you’re greeted with a warm welcoming that makes you feel as if you’ve only been gone a few hours. 5 stars.

Katherine Collins: Treated my sister and her husband to a stay at the Hay-Adams & it’s one of the very few times I can say that it was absolutely worth every cent. Our rooms were impeccable, every member of the staff we encountered was genuinely caring, & every meal we ate was exceptional. Everything exceeded my expectations. I’ve never experienced anything like it; they must go out of their way to hire the best of the best & treat them well because nothing fell short of absolute excellence. I don’t think I could ever stay anywhere else in the city. It made our time in DC magical.

Tracey Vlahovic: This was an experience! From my room I can see the white house and such a wonderful view! I took the best pictures! The hotel bar was great and wonderful staff greeted us. We had many rooms booked and so many of my family came along and everyone enjoyed! I highly recommend!

Adam Galazka: Overall, just an amazing experience. I would give them 4.5 stars. Mainly because after our stay, we found some rim and tire damage from valet parking. Working with their management to address it. Booked this through Amex Platinum. Their check in process was amazing. From doors being open to everyone knowing your name, just great. This hotel is right down the street of the White House. Just an amazing location. Room was great with St. John view of the church. Room was spacious. Shower had an amazing pressure. Enjoyed the little touch of water and mandarins. Turn down service was also great as we did not expect it. We will definitely be back. Restaurant and bar/lounge on the premises are amazing.

brian perkins: Was visiting DC for the first time since the pandemic. So glad we stayed at The Hay-Adams. So charming. So comfortable. So beautiful. Such great service (the doormen, the waiters, the hostesses great you by your name every day!). I only had breakfasts there…and I miss them. Especially the corned beef hash. And they charged my Tesla. Perfect.

Priya R.: What an amazing experience. The location of the hotel is spectacular, the service is amazing and the rooms are beautiful. Special thanks to Brian Thomasson for going above and beyond to make sure my twin boys felt special during the stay. If you truly want a memorable experience, you cannot stay anywhere else. We plan to come back soon…many thanks for the fantastic memories.

Michelle W: My husband and I stayed in the Lafayette Park view suite for three nights and we were impressed with every aspect of this beautiful hotel - from the courteous and pleasant service from every employee we interacted with, an awesome concierge who set us up with an informative walking tour of DC, to the wonderful in room dining staff. Off the Record was a nightly favorite! We can’t wait to come back and stay again!

Thomas Corcoran: Despite an issue with some minor room cleanliness, the hotel management handled it extremely well. The staff turned what would have been a disappointment into a very positive experience. We look forward to returning for a relaxing stay again.

The Madison Hotel: what do users think?

Naile Ruiz: The decor in the lobby was very nice! Rooms were average and cozy. Snacks and drinks were placed inside and would be charged to the card. Only small bottles of shampoo and conditioner were provided. Staff were kind and helped us when needed. I was able to leave my bag there after check-out while I explored the city until my flight.

A Lee: Outdated room! Scratches were on the tv stand and mirror. Room is dirty. They don’t provide complimentary water in the room. They don’t provide masks in the lobby. Bed had some type of weird powdery substance on it. I paid more money thinking the hotel was going to be elite. It was basic.

Pat Pat: We booked this hotel because it’s a 4 star hotel, but we were very disappointed. There were no shower cap or cotton swap provided. We called to request those items and the front desk said that they completely ran out of both items and they won’t be restock anytime before we checked out. I couldn’t believe they would ran out of basic amenities considering it’s a 4 star hotel. I would rather stay in a 3 star hotel with this type of service. If you plan to stay at this place, I’d recommend using their plastic laundry bag to substitute for the shower cap, but don’t forget to bring a rubber band to hold the bag in place.

Diana Braun: The hotel lobby is nice. Staff is friendly. The parking situation for this hotel is a problem. Very tight parking spots and not at hotel. On the weekend the elevator in garage is not operational. Recommend dropping off suitcases at lobby and then park. Request coffee pot for room. Plenty of things to do once you get settled into hotel.

Cemal Etlik: This hotel is nice but for a 4-star hotel, I would definitely go with another option. Even 2-3 star hotels provide a mini fridge and microwave, this place doesn’t have one and has additional costs to add it. The parking is a rip-off, not worth it. Find somewhere better.

Timothy McBride: Wonderful staff especially the Doormen and the front desk staff who were marvelous. The room maintenance staff were wonderful and timely . I only have one suggestion. As I am a big tipper in cash, getting change from larger bills to tip was not possible with the no cash policy.. Obviously I will be more aware of this for the next time.

Subsidies Suaish: Concierges didn’t have name tags, one was particularly rude; I found that unprofessional. The room we stayed in had garbage swept under the bed and the stand. We found a retail security tag folded into our comforter. I would never return here. Go to The Darcy if you want a nice location for a similar price. They serve cute cocktails and their staff actually does their jobs.

YOTEL Washington DC: what do users think?

Cherelle: Cleanliness has always been my biggest priority and this hotel surpassed my expectations. My room was absolutely pristine. The house keeping staff deserves many praises. The lighting details in the rooms were amazing. Mood settings. I was a peace. The vending machines had lots of variety with great choices, but the restaurant was phenomenal! I ate amazing meals each morning. The ambiance down to the music and decor were perfect. The staff was so friendly from the receptionist, valet drivers, and everyone else. Each person I past by spoke and was friendly. I think this has to be one of my best hotel experiences by far because the customer service was exceptional. Highly recommended.

Reva Slone: This hotel is amazing! It is steps from the Capitol and has a modern tech aesthetic. I recently stayed 3 nights with a group of 48 students. We had some charter bus issues and needed a place to stow luggage from checkout until about 8 PM. The entire staff went out of their way with their kindness and hospitality allowing our group not only to stow luggage in their conference area but also to rest from the day’s adventures, order food, play video games, and make ourselves at home. If you are looking for a clean, convenient, modern, well operated hotel near the National Mall, do yourself a favor and book this one! You will not be disappointed.

Miranda Brown: The aesthetic of the room really made this worth it. The parking garage (which is a surprise $50 a night) is VERY tight. The room wasn’t large. Lights for bathroom, bedroom, and sink are linked so they will all turn on, or all turn off. No privacy for the toilet and shower so you better be comfortable with your sleeping buddy. Lastly, there was no microwave neither in the room, nor the lobby. Overall, Great area! Cute room! It’s got it’s pros and cons but we enjoyed our stay.

Naba Siddiq: I was weary with some of the mixed reviews but I stayed here while attending a conference across the street and I was very impressed! The cleanliness was GREAT. My room was sparkling clean in every corner and crevice. Love the technology in the rooms where you can control the lights and adjust the bed. Loved the mirrors, the sink, shower and everything in between. Very modern and l loved the ambience the “relax” mode of the lights give! The bed is huge and very comfy and there are charging stations built into the bed and reading lights on both sides of the bed. A mirror above the bed and a full body mirror next to the sink. Huge TV built into the wall that’s also backlit so once again, the ambience is amazing especially at night time. The room cleaning service is top notch. My room would be ready brand new for me every day and they even went above and beyond to make sure all my things (that I had messily thrown around including my shoes) were in order and perfectly aligned and organized for me each time I came back to my room. Love the huge comfy pillows and everything worked great with no issues! The coffee bar in the hall is also a vibe. The only con is the walls aren’t too sound proof so you can hear people around you if they’re loud enough but that’s a small con to me. If I visit any place that has an option to stay at a YOTEL again, I’m taking it!

Lindsay Knudsen: Modern, sleek, and most importantly- clean! I am always wary of trying new hotels but I was pleasantly surprised with this hotel! Not only were the staff so incredibly friendly, but the rooms and lobby are nice too and clean. The pool was a nice touch, clean with an attached bar. Overall, very happy with the facility.

Niya: I actually enjoyed my stay here. Whether you have a regular room or a suite the rooms are very nice and spacious. They have LED lights great for gen z lmao. And their staff in my opinion is very nice and helpful. I will say the request for an extra towel might take a little bit of time but they come.. eventually.

Club Quarters Hotel White House, Washington DC: what do users think?

Amanda Sykes: Super friendly staff!! They upgraded me with my pet to a larger room on the top floor with a view of the park across the street. Technology was awesome - could connect phone to TV. Everything was super clean! They also have water on every floor for the guests! The only thing I can “complain” about is there is no parking available. However, there is a garage around the block for $40 overnight. Last, there is no extra fee for a pet. Just have to sign a waiver. Will definitely stay here again if I am ever back in DC!

Tyler Stalletti: Staff was friendly but the hotel is of sub-par quality. Entering the room I actually thought it was great but then I noticed some things. The bathroom is small but it was gross as I smelled mildew. The tile flooring and walls in the shower were covered in mildew. Even the bottom of the show curtain had mildew. The bathroom had a drop ceiling which looked dirty and if the shower had mildew I’m sure the tile ceiling had it also. That’s not the worst part, I noticed when running the air conditioner I began to sneeze. I was out all day on Saturday walking dc with no problem. As soon as I went into my room and turned on the A/C I began sneezing. Left for dinner and kept sneezing which was horrible. After a few hours out I stopped sneezing. As soon as I came back to the hotel room which had the air running I started sneezing again. I can’t guarantee it was the air conditioner but their was definitely something in that room making me sneeze. The remote for TV also had white stuff all over it and was also gross. It was supposed to be all sanitized in a clear bag but obviously not. I honestly almost asked for my money back but the staff was so friendly that I didn’t want to.

Samia Muhammad: This hotel 🏨 is best choice to be near from all activities near by such as White House. I highly recommend this hotel. The stuff especially Aline is amazing and helpful she changed my room next day to have a best view. The lounge in second floor has a fresh coffee ☕️. There is a water free.

Wei Hsu: We stayed here for two days, and I think I chose the best hotel in Washington DC! The location is great! Close to everywhere on foot. Including White House, monument and some museums! Also five mins away from subway station on foot! The service here is also great! The lobby is clean and make people feel comfortable. Next time when I travel to DC, I will choose this place again!

D Howe: Stayed here in May 2022. One of the best big city hotel experiences I’ve had. It’s not fancy and the rooms are basic but they’re spotless, the place is quiet, bathrooms are modern and clean, the staff is polite and helpful. Highly recommend this property. There is a Boulanger in across the street that serves up incredible breakfast items. Right next to a mtetro station.

Ganindu Madhawa: Stayed here for a week in Autumn 2017 and cost me around 260$/day just for the stay without meals. Obviously the rooms are comparatively smaller so was the bathrooms. . However it was perfectly equipped with needs for single person stay and I would say the stay was comfortable. The reception staff was so friendly The place is located in the heart of the busy suburbs and just few hundred yards from The White House, Renwick Gallery and a number of free museums. Rooms were clean.

Riggs Washington DC: what do users think?

Cesar Desouza: The friendly staff is exceptional. They really care about you during your stay there. The room is comfortable, remodeled with good decor. But the bathroom is narrow, not enough for a couple to shower together. Perfect location. Close enough to all monuments and stores. The gym is well equipped and the restaurant is amazing. I recommend this hotel. Congratulations to all the staff and thank you for making my stay perfect.

Hailey Davis: We are SO happy with our stay at the Riggs. We got the Bed and Breakfast package which was so convenient so we could start the day before DC got too busy. It’s the perfect location by amazing food choices for happy hour and dinner. We walked literally everywhere, or we took the metro railway, which has a station on the same block. The employees are happy and so kind. The rooftop view is stunning. Their bartenders take their job very seriously and they are basically artists with their drinks! Thank you for an amazing stay! We will be back.

Sherry Motta: Feels decadent. Lovely decor. Good service. Reservations even for breakfast make it convenient. Would be nice to have a few more unique/specialty items on the menu to go with the decor/ambiance. For example, we ate breakfast & enjoyed little touches like the honey lavender butter. Recommend a few more things like that to make the meal different from other places to get a meal.

T & J Herzog: All around great hotel. Great location. Walking distance to all of the national sites and museums and also restaurants. Also quick walk to the convention center (we went for a volleyball tournament.)Clean and accommodating. Safe area. Fantastic customer service- especially the parking and valley service, which was extraordinarily convenient. I agree with the other comment that they treat everyone like royalty. They greet you by name as you come in and out. Highly recommend.

Claudia Lewis: The Riggs Hotel is very nice and has a speak easy type bar downstairs. It’s in a nice area of the city with access to metro and Smithsonian. I’m giving 4 stars instead of 5 because the standard rooms are very small which is not accurately reflected on its website. The staff is amazing!!!

katherine adelufosi: The rooms are beautiful. Close to a lot of the DC attractions.. What made it extra special is Tiffany from concierge . She went above and beyond to accommodate all my special request and needs. I truly thank her for her service.Staff is excellent and the food at Cafe Riggs is another highlight. I will definitely book here again in the future.

Chloe Reynolds: One of the most amazing customer services experiences I have ever had, they made us feel like royalty when we were staying one short night and came in looking like a gaggle of geese. Amazing food, and truly amazing people working there. So friendly and cute and everyone there was so happy to help and wish us a wonderful stay. Never suggesting anywhere else, this is the place!

Queenie01: 3 stars because this place is absolutely beautiful. I love coming to DC. Their food and scenery is always good. I was visiting for 24 hours and decided to visit cafe Riggs for bunch. To my surprise it wasn’t crowded. The service I received was completely horrible. My waiter was very unimpressed and uninterested in getting my order. It seemed like I was bothering him. after he got my ordered, not once did he come back to check on me. Funny because he walked pass me a million times checking on everybody else. I’m not going to make it a race thing, but Victor do better. I don’t plan on staying at this hotel or eating this this restaurant again in the future. What’s good is the scenery and food if the service is horrible.

Hamilton Hotel DC: what do users think?

Gretchen Bennett: I was worried by some of the reviews, but my stay was terrific. Kind, attentive staff. Nice room. Comfy bed. Mini-fridge (which I love). Great meal in the restaurant. Sure, its an older hotel, but that gives it character and charm. Great walking location.

C Yager: Great staff, clean hotel, close to White house.; but a bit of a walk to Smithsonian. Comfortable bed, bathroom products are the giant size pump with very strong peppermint smell, a bit too much for me , nice water pressure in shower. Stayed on 2 floor but a bit noisy from street sounds, would recommend staying higher up. The hotel bar had great burgers.

Alicia Zelaya: The hotel room was great. The hotel was very pretty and well maintained.my only complaint really was that there was not vending machines or a small shop to allow you to buy small necessities like bottles of water, etc. However, the staff was very friendly. They even brought us a microwave to our room when I asked if there was a way to heat up left over food.

The Darcy: what do users think?

Regina Wren: Trendy, classy, comfortable, welcoming of all!! Great location, excellent staff, love this hotel and will be booking again soon!!! My fiancé recently booked us this hotel first time we were away from our little ones and we got called with an emergency. The desk staff was wonderful to us and I can’t say more about the entire team there. Even the door man on the way out was so compassionate. They are so welcoming and professional. I have been in world class hotels and this staff could give them a lesson.

Silke: The best thing of the hotel was the very friendly service. The rooms were okay, but could have been cleaner; the bathroom was very clean. I liked the walk in shower. The extra fees were high, and for parking we had to pay about 60 $ or try to find something close to park the car late at night. It is close to the important sightseeing spots of DC. We could walk everywhere. That was a great as the view of if the hotel room window. We slept well and heard no other people around us although there were many.

R R: I enjoyed my stay here. Staff was nice and helpful. Nice restaurant downstairs. Hotel is centrally located near just about everything in a safe area. The room was much smaller than expected, we did not get a nice view as we were towards the back of the building. Good for a few days stay.

Antoinette Levon: Lovely Hotel in walking distance to a lot of DC offerings. Has a very modern edge to it. The rooms are beautiful and clean. Has cool lighting. I will say there is only street parking, so plan for that. The staff was friendly and accommodating. The bar downstairs was great for cocktails. Plus there is a fancy coffee place right next door.

Salvatore Grisaffi: We stayed at this hotel for 5 nights, very well located, within a 20/30 minutes walking towards the main attractions, national mall and so on. The room was quite big and very clean, people of the hotel , receptionists and in the breakfast hall were extremely polite and gentle, they absolutely made your day! I would definitely recommend staying at this hotel if you’re coming to Washington DC.

Lexi H: This hotel is in a great location and you can walk everywhere you need to go. The front desk staff were great & very welcoming. Our waitress at the hotel restaurant was very nice but the food wasn’t great and the service was terrible. Our order was messed up 3 times and there was an extremely long wait to get our food even though the restaurant was empty. The AC in our room was broken so I spoke to the front desk and they said someone would come look at it but no one ever showed up so our room was 75 degrees the entire weekend. The room was big and very clean but the temperature made it impossible to relax. Valet is very expensive and I watched the driver hit the curb when bringing my car back to us upon checkout. The hotel was very nice and clean but the experience wasn’t worth the cost of a weekend here.

Adam Heiss: Great hotel in a central vibrant location. The hotel design both in common areas and rooms is elegant and comfortable. Beautiful lobby and bar with a cozy atmosphere (the bar also dishes out some really good cocktails). Steps away from some great restaurants and bars, and not far from monuments and museums/art galleries. Best thing about this hotel is the staff who are incredibly friendly and professional and go above and beyond.

Luna Alkan: While the welcoming was very warm and nice , the communication wasn’t great. They told upon check in that I needed to pay a $200 deposit in case “whatever incidents” as well as if we were to order room service. 1 day after checking out I was charged $60.00 (amenities and taxes)that the front desk didn’t told when I get there, actually I book 2 days but just stay 1 day, I didn’t use any amenities and I didn’t ask any service room, I was tried to clarify by phone with them but seems like this is the crafty and fox way of them to these with a lot customers they simple will not listening.

Sharley: I stayed at this hotel in June 2021. Although the location was not the best, this hotel was very nice for the price. The room was clean, and there was no problem during my three-night stay. They lent me a bicycle, and I enjoyed the trip!

Omni Shoreham Hotel: what do users think?

J MacDrizzly: The Omni DC is a wonderful place to stay while visiting our nation’s Capital. As a guest, It is not uncommon to run into our political leaders, or dignitaries, as many of them have meetings inside the hotel. The old world charm of the hotel, is not lost to mismanagement, or poor upkeep. It’s truly one of a kind. I would recommend this place to anyone. It’s so close to so much, and has some of the most beautiful surrounding streets, large bridges, and enormous towering trees ; that so much of the city has lost with the rapid development. The staff is also very knowledgeable, courteous, and will go out of their way to see you are enjoying your stay. The rooms are spacious, and clean, there is a great little cafe, as well as a restaurant that serves very traditional breakfast. My only complaint, would be that the magnet keys are very easily deprogrammed, so if you can take one piece of advice, don’t let your phone, or any other cards near your key card. Lastly their is a plethora of good, inexpensive restaurants just a stones throw away, as well as a CVS and an exquisite liquor store, that offers a wide assortment of wine and spirits. I could go on about this hotel, I suggest you just give it a visit yourself. I almost forgot about the pool…. Great way to relax and take in some of the natural beauty, while basking in the midday sun. By

Muriel Rand: Charming historic hotel. Room was very comfortable and clean. Good conference/businesses facilities. Service was fine, but very few people available. A bit hard to find the meeting rooms and noone to help. Elevators are tiny and slow. Beautiful lobby and gorgeous gardens behind the hotel. Prefect to sit under the trees.

Michelle Olson: We could not have been more pleased with our stay at this hotel! Upon arrival we were met with a friendly greeting from the doormen. Our bags were brought up by the bellman within 30 seconds of entering our room. From that moment, every employee that we had contact with was friendly & helpful! David at the concierge desk had so much knowledge of the area & was able to get us a dinner reservation at a wonderful restaurant. The gym has a wide variety of machines. The outdoor pool was clean & well maintained. I also like that the hotel is right next to the trails at Rock Creek park, the Metro is a block away, the zoo is a three block walk (or $2 bus ride) & there are numerous restaurants to choose from a block away. My only complaint would be that the bathroom counter was small but that is what you get in a historic hotel.

liz: Beautiful grounds, and great location. The subway is super close by! Staff were okay, nothing special. The bed was very comfortable and the overall room was fine, nothing amazing (which it should of been for the price). I was also upset to hear that breakfast is not included. Considering the price of the room, it really should of been. The hotel seems a little outdated but nonetheless I liked the history behind it. I enjoyed the stay but wouldn’t rave about the hotel. Its not the worst thing in the world having to stay here but for how much I paid I will look at other options next time.

Shelby Pelesky: Attempted to stay here and upon arrival the lobby was beautiful. Unfortunately, that is where the elegance ended. Checking in at 5pm, we received our first room only to find it hadn’t been cleaned - the comforter and sheets were rumpled and pillows on the floor. We were given another room and after opening the door, we were severely underwhelmed. The room was very dated (same as the first) but much smaller than the first room. This room at least had the appearance of being cleaned until you lifted the comforter to find hairs in the sheets. We flushed the toilet upon entry and it did not stop running the entire 20 minutes we were in the room. Additionally, after decided not to stay, the valet seemed to have lost my car keys. We waited for an additional 30 minutes just to get the vehicle. Would not recommend for anything other than a pretty lobby.

Steffon Greatness: Very Nice place. Amazingly friendly staff. Very big rooms. Stayed on the East Side (Promenade). The pool is outside so I didn’t go but I did take a look. The pool was stated to be heated. The bathroom was not what I liked in a hotel bathroom. I didn’t use the curtain the first time I showered and almost started a flood… The drains may need to be updated. It feels really old there. Valet service is $55 a day. Daily Hold of $100 a Night. (Released at checkout)

CD A: This is a 1930 built Grand Hotel. Most of that charm is still found here. My room was large and well appointed. The front desk made for an easy check in and out. The maid service was excellent. A beautiful swimming pool, back terrace off the main dining area to take meals al fresco. I was there for a meeting and stayed a week. The main lobby and dining area are beautiful. As for the location, the Zoo, area with mid priced restaurants of all kinds, and the metro a block away to get around. Excellent price and location. I definitely would stay here again.

Sonny Kim: We were absolutely disappointed with everything. The staff from arriving to leaving was completely abrupt and unhelpful. We unfortunately had one of the guests cancel last minute due to testing positive for covid and the hotel staff was completely unaccommodating to put us in a smaller room. The room itself smelled old and damp and only offered toiletries for ONE guest even though the room had two beds and our reservation was for FOUR. The shower ended up clogging up and there were brown stains on the blinds in the bathroom and the staff was able to change our rooms but the next room was not that much better. The staff was also completely unhelpful in advising us on how valet parking worked so we spent the majority of time indecisive on whether to use the valet or find alternative parking. We ultimately were completely disappointed in the amount of money we spent at this hotel and in no way received the level of service to match that.

Hotel Zena, a Viceroy Urban Retreat: what do users think?

dominique mackey: Stayed this weekend and this is a fabulous hotel. The service, the location the people who work there really made my stay amazing. And when I needed an extra night because of a car issue they easily and quickly accommodated me and price matched to a nearby hotel I was going to check into after I had already checked out of their hotel. The Decor was amazing, the design I mean it all was great and made my Instagram very popular for the weekend. Definitely will get my business again and would recommend.

Madison Nickischer: The rooms here are very nice. I stayed in the queen room and it was very nice and very clean. The only reason I docked a star was because there was an unexpected deposit of $375. When I reserved my room online, there was nothing at all that mentioned having to do that. Also their “deal” online of stay two nights and get your third free was totally a scam. My third night was “free” but the other two nights were charged $60 more a night.. so basically it wasn’t free at all. When I went to get the $375 dollars back (with my parking fee taken out) I got $100 less than expected. It was yet another “guest fee” taken out. That whole process was uncomfortable considering I wasn’t informed of any of the “deposits” and other “fees” that they just took. But other than that the rooms were very nice and the parking staff was very friendly.

N Ervin: Fantastic Stay!! I stayed at Hotel Zena while in town on business and was absolutely In Love with this Hotel! From the time I arrived, the valet, “O”, was FANTASTIC!!! The lovely young lady who checked myself and my co-workers in was wonderfully helpful and took great care of us! My room was a true delight, designed gorgeously and I still cannot get over the beautifully designed shower graced with Lady Liberty. I also have to celebrate “Princess”, the bartender…such wonderful customer service! While my stay was for business, it was truly delightful to return to the Hotel Zena be greeted with wonderful customer service and to enjoy the tranquil beauty and comfort of my room. From the phenomenal lobby, to the beautiful roof top bar, to the moment Million, the valet, helped me to my car upon my departure, the Hotel Zena was truly a fantastic experience! I highly recommend others to stay at this fabulous hotel! Cheers and thanks to the Reception, Valet and Bar (Princess and the lovely lady on the rooftop on Friday) staff that worked 11/17/21-11/20/21! You ALL need raises!!

Basana A.: I only had the opportunity to stay 2 nights, but my experience was everything I could have hoped for and more. The front desk staff was very friendly from the time I first checked in and was very helpful in recommending wonderful restaurants in the area. I especially enjoyed the modern decor and female empowerment theme of the hotel. And after a long flight, the bed and pillows were extremely comfortable and allowed for a great nights sleep. I will definitely stay here again the next time I’m in DC.

Didi: This is for the rooftop restaurant, and is located in what appeared to be a nice female owned hotel. The drinks were ok, the view great, the music was a hodgepodge of super loud and elevator as far as volume, food/nosh options not worth pictures and the service was meh. Nice view and location, efficient reservation and check-in process, but seating was not coordinated. I would say go for a drink or two, take a picture and be on to the next place, but worth a stop.

Thompson Washington D.C.: what do users think?

Melissa Thorpe: Initially my mom and I stayed at the Thompson Hotel as a quick weekend getaway for my birthday, but it was a vacation for my mom as it was her first getaway since before the pandemic and her first time visiting DC. She lived her best life! First off, I would like to thank the staff for being so gracious, kind and attentive during our stay. I was allowed a late checkout for which I greatly appreciated. Our train home was scheduled later in the afternoon and after walking 20k steps yesterday making memories, I knew it’d be best that we sleep in. I wish I could’ve stayed an extra night but I had to return home for an obligation. This hotel is BEAUTIFUL! It looks even better in person. I sometimes have to visit DC for work and after staying at the Thompson hotel, this was the first time I thought “I’d come back.” Our room was upgraded to a corner room which very spacious and clean. The only complaint I have, although it could be the “new modern,” is that the shower is not fully enclosed. I’ve stayed at a resort last summer with the same structured bathroom, so it could be that I’m not used to the new layout. Continental breakfast is offered in the mornings. The rooftop bar is very chill, however you have to take the elevator down to the lobby and then directly to the rooftop. I didn’t get a chance to experience the restaurant but I’m sure I’ll do that my next visit 😉. There’s also multiple restaurants nearby. The metro is less than a 10min walk away and it runs every 20min. (I work/commute in NY so for those that understand, in case you miss your train by 1min… just pause and be patient lol). This hotel is also dog friendly and is near a dog park. I have a dog-phew now, so I might bring him during my next stay.

Joan Dineen: A fresh and stylish hotel, quite nice for the price. Hyatt has really tried to introduce a young, high-design feeling here. Rooms are of adequate size and function well. Rooftop bar was closed when we were there and I am not sure what other amenities were available. A little under-staffed, reception often seemed to have long lines for check in and out. My star-rating is based on value for the price and general ambiance.

Jinseok Lee: I stayed at the junior suite of Thompson Washington D.C. for a couple nights during the long weekend a week ago. All the staffs were kind, especially thanks Joseph at the front desk who gave me warm welcome with explaining all benefits I could get and amenities available in the hotel. Hotel is at a very secure location, The Yards, and you will love the neighborhood. There are many restaurants with reasonable prices and fancy interiors. Room condition was really great and the view of the corner room makes the room more spacious. I also loved the robe at Thompson. Weekend brunch at the restaurant Mare on the first floor was really amazing. The crab meatball pasta and the steak were really tasty. You should definitely visit Thompson D.C. and most importantly the hotel is underpriced. I am already planning to visit again :)

Christopher Delappi: Immaculate, modern, trendy, incredible location, cost matches the amenities , a few quirky elements such as a weird and a really unnecessarily techie elevator system where you pick the floor before entering the lift. In addition, The rooms have an odd wall panel system / button for flushing the toilet. The Denver CO Thompson requires your room key to turn on the lights but I was happy to see this property in DC still uses the trusty dusty on/off toggle

Masa Kanayama: The room is spacious and has a great view. I stayed other Thompson hotels as well and all carries the high level of standards. My only complaint is breakfast. As a globalist I received a coupon which I order from nearby deli. One breakfast item and one beverage only. The choices are few and I cannot order any sides.. I cannot even order both coffee and orange juice. This breakfast service should be changed just like other Thompson property which includes hotel restaurant full breakfast instead of this coupon. This is a reason why 4 star review instead of 5 star experiences as in other Thompson hotels.

Celeste Borjas: The hotel is gorgeous —rooms well kept and the rooftop bar is lovely. I’m giving a three star review only because it was a shockingly arduous process trying to get federal taxes removed for gov travel. If you’re also traveling and requesting tax exemption consider staying somewhere else to avoid the headache.
