Rise Bakery: what do users think?

Dumdi B.: I’m always on the hunt for good treats that are both gluten and dairy free. I was so happy to find Rise Bakery! My favorite was the vegan double chocolate cupcake and the vegan cookies and cream cupcake. Both went really well with unsweetened almond milk. Such a nice treat for date night. Thank you for the existence of this place!

Sadie Vogt: Absolutely delicious! In town for work so I had to stop here and try their gluten free options! Recommend to every gluten free person in DC who has a sweet tooth!!

Peregrine Sky: Cute, unfortunately no dine in at this time, progressive bakery. Lots of options for all kinds of dietary restrictions, soy, nut, dairy and all gluten free. 18th Street sandwich was amazing! These are certainly the best gluten free pastries I’ve ever had but they are still not delicious like normal pastries!

JT Mitchell: Both the Oreo cupcake and the apple fritter were pretty good. Both are also vegan. I’d say I like the fritter better. Had some good bite to it. The cupcake was tasty. Pretty solid.

Anna L: Very very happy with my experience at rise. Got the 18th street sandwich - delicious bread with arugula, herbed Mayo, bacon, and tomato. I also got a cherry turnover that was amazing. Yet to try the cheddar jalapeño loaf and the strawberry cheesecake but they look great. Can’t wait to come back another time.

Danielle Somers: Hands down best GF bakery in the DMV. All of their baked goods are incredible and their customer service is excellent. We had our wedding cake made there and everyone sung their praises. Worth the trip!

LP: Cute little gluten free shop with additional egg nut and soy free options. First gluten free spot I’ve tried that is moist and flavorful. Yum! I got the raspberry danish.

Sweet Crimes Gluten-Free Bakery: what do users think?

Haleigh Eppler: This store front is cute and has a very trendy but cozy vibe inside. The service was great and everyone was very willing to answer our questions. All allergen information is clearly indicated on the menu to allow for easy ordering. We had the ham and cheese sandwich and a chili brownie. The ham and cheese sandwich was delicious with cheese on the bread and in the sandwich. The chili brownie wasn’t super spicy but had a good kick in the after taste. The vegan members of our party enjoyed pumpkin bread and a chocolate donut.

Christiane West: We ordered a lemon sheet cake for my daughter’s confirmation and it was hands down the best gluten free cake we have had. And we have been gluten free for 10 years now and have tried many places in the DC metro area. Keri if very easy to work with and her shop has lots of fun options beyond the cakes!!

Allison Nielsen: Normally, I wouldn’t gravitate towards a gluten free bakery, but we decided to get some Christmas cookies here and they were amazing! Really soft (my favorite type of cookie) and the service was so friendly here. The bakery is really small so there’s not a ton of room for sitting, its more of a grab and go situation. I am glad to see things are still going well and that people are loving this spot. I’d love to return for breakfast one day!

Elliott Wooster: I had a really good cheese and egg biscuit, a latte and I couldn’t NOT get the donut. This place is amazing. All of the food I and my partner had was incredible and the coffee was brilliant too. But THE DONUTS. They were AMAZING. They sold out whilst I was sat here (10:30 on a Sunday) so make sure to get here early! The person at the counter said they’re still very new and figuring out how fast things will sell. Cannot recommend enough. This was all delicious.

Kate Cope: Visited this bakery for the first time on Sunday am - I didn’t catch the names of the staff but both were SO kind and welcoming. I had my two little ones with me & they let them taste a couple of extra treats :) The food was all incredible and the vibe/atmosphere is just great. I would highly recommend this bakery to not just those with a gluten sensitivity or allergy, but to anyone who enjoys delicious baked goods and kind employees. Definitely will visit again!!

John Palmer: Great gluten free bakery and cafe. A little pricy but the cupcakes and pastries are wonderful

Sticky Fingers Sweets & Eats: what do users think?

Dwayne Martin: Customer service was absolutely great. I was purchasing some treats for my vegan roommates birthday and they gave great recommendations and he loved it. Definitely will be coming back.

Jessica Williams: Love, love love! I’m severely allergic to milk. So this is really my only option if I want dairy free cupcakes from a bakery. The carrot cake cupcakes, coconut, and red velvet cupcakes are AMAZING!!!!! I know red velvet are around all year. I wish the other two were as well. I’ve been in heaven since picking up my order.

Queen Afua: It was a treat in itself omg I had the matcha tea and an apple cupcake it was Heavenly and everything is vegan which is a plus for me

Maria I: I had high hopes for this place and ordered a dozen cupcakes for work. I only tried the red velvet and the frosting was too sweet and the cake was not flavorful.

Carla Godoy: I have lived in Columbia heights now for over 10 years and have always seen sticky fingers bakery but have never actually been there. But now since I am a vegan, let me tell you this is the perfect place. The cupcakes are to die for, and so is the rueban with sweet potato fries. My favorite is the sticky buns on my way to college.

Edward Parsons: Was super excited to visited Sticky Fingers. I fondly recall watching the owner on Cup Cake Wars and pulled for her because of her vegan values. After a year of living in DC, I took my family to the store. My wife was given a piece of the double chocolate cake, and we had to experience the shop for ourselves. Expectations were high for Sticky! When we walked in I initially thought that the neo look was interesting...but after looking around the store it seemed to be randomness that I found difficult to connect with. When I order, the employee seemed to be rushed and somewhat annoyed. The store was not very clean. The products that I bought were tasty, but the entire experience left me wondering...is this the true Sticky Finger experience...? I hope not. I will be giving Sticky another try, but sometime you only get one chance to make a first impression.

The Red Bandana Bakery: what do users think?

Seth Cohen: My partner has issues with dairy and egg, so, we were delighted to stumble upon Red Bandana! We originally ordered some smaller snacks and they were great. The reason for the 5 stars - is we emailed them about a birthday cake dairy/egg free birthday cake, along with a flavor and some ideas/examples we were thinking about, and just let them do their magic. Jaimie and team knocked it out of the park! She was super helpful, answering a million questions back and forth on email. Payment and pickup was a breeze. Thanks again Jaimie and Red Bandana!

Emily Warren: They make so many wonderful treats and it is easy to get gluten free and vegan items or whatever you need. This bakery made my wedding cake and is still my go to place for gluten free baked goods.

Savannah Salters: The owner and her daughter are super sweet and professional. The cake wasn’t to fancy just used to reveal we were expecting our first child but decorated well. Referred here by someone and the cake was entirely to sweet. Couldn’t even eat the cake. Guest complained of the taste and I was kind of sad because I’ve been having a sweet tooth during my pregnancy.

Andrew: Great for people with multiple food allergies. Be very careful when telling them your allergies as the color coding is very specific. One particular lady there told us that we could use blue and green but it turns out she did not hear that. My kid was allergic to egg so one of those colors was incorrect. Once you know what colors are good, you can stick with those knowing it will be fine

Kim: Thank you thank you thank you! Once again you all have never ceased to amaze me with something different and new every birthday every year for me and my other half-lef! My Wonder Woman“themed” cake with the subtle red white and blue with the stars (A fun living clue I was supposed to figure out what it represented ) was a hit! Delicious vanilla and lovd the pineapple filling! You make the best gluten-free cakes around and taste is absolutely phenomenal!

Jared Alvarado: Friendly people, tasty pastries. I get to come here a few times a year and it’s always a treat to look forward to. I always get the vegan pastries, but I’m guessing the conventional ones are tasty as well.

Robert smith: Great vegan options! Loved the sugarless blondies and chocolate brownies. Good black bean burger and got. Vegan peach muffin for breakfast next day. Just wish they were open earlier as I would have visited again before my meeting! Only bottled water to drink…

Taunia Stevenson: This place is amazing! I was more than impressed with the service and blown away when I received my order! Jaimie (and staff) are the best! Did an outstanding job on my 40th birthday cupcakes! Almost didn’t want to eat them because they looked so beautiful! These were the best gluten free cupcakes I’ve had to date. I will most definitely order from this bakery again. If you have gluten (dietary) restrictions (or just want some good cakes and baked goods) I highly recommend this bakery. They also have a good menu of other gluten free eats when you visit the bakery! Outstanding!

Baked & Wired: what do users think?

Elizabeth Dou: I love coming here on special occasions and enjoying a cupcake or two with friends and family. Every cupcake I’ve tried has been such a treat full of flavor and just so moist. They really nail the cupcake to icing ratio. They offer seasonal coffee flavors as well as cupcake flavors. It’s a fun bakery with both indoor and outdoor seating. If you plan to stop by be prepared to wait in line. The line moves quickly and it’s definitely worth the wait!

Aminah Imani: You won’t be disappointed. Order them to go and enjoy them down by the water front. Great location, friendly staff and aesthetically pleasing to the eye. Thank you!

Avonlea: One of my favorite spots when in DC. The cupcakes are so moist and your definitely getting your moneys worth! Before the pandemic the line would go down the street, but since they close earlier you can walk right in. They also have other treats other than cupcakes. Their Rice Krispies are very good! If in DC I highly suggest you stop by!

Yuri: When we arrived in the afternoon, most flavors of cupcakes were already sold out… I really wanted to try dirty chai cupcake, but I got one of chocolate flavor.(I forgot the name, but kind of nutty chocolate) It was sweet, but not too much, moderately moist, was good! I should go again!

Marina Ekman: I went into Baked and Wired on a Saturday near mid day, and was greeted politely by staff, so that was nice. I took a look at their menu on the board, and was surprised to see that there weren’t any prices posted. I then took a look at their foldout menus, and no prices on there either. I was finally able to track down the price of their cupcakes online (they were over $6 per) yet i was unable to find prices for their drinks (but that could be my error) I decided to order the coconut cupcake and a green tea, and my food was delivered to me swiftly! The cupcake itself was very delicious and rich, yet a little lacking on the coconut flavor, and the tea was hot and scrumptious! I definitely would visit again! Edit: I was finally able to obtain a biscuit from them (thanks to the lovely staff for their help!) and it was very tasty! The biscuit is a drop type soda biscuit with the ingredients mixed into it, rather than a layered biscuit.

Da-Wang Wu: A lovely little bakery with many different flavors of cupcakes. They also sell coffee and tea on the other side of the counter. The staff mentioned that carrot cake and strawberry are two popular flavors in their cupcakes. Carrot cake is pretty delicious, but strawberry is just okay for me. Although I don’t like frosting in general, my friend said that their frosting felt freshly made and he actually enjoyed it. Overall, the drinks and cake are a bit too sweet for me, but I guess it might be just fine for others.

Munera A: In love with this place’ vibes 💯, we picked the vanilla cupcake filled with dolce de lice and the chocolate topping.. it was good but not the best! But the coffee was actually good!

Baked by Yael: what do users think?

Suradee Thongkiattikul: Great place to stop by after the zoo to grab a quick bite. The bagel sandwiches are around $6 and baked goods are around $4 each. Overall a decent place with vegan and gluten-free options. Nut-free and kosher if that’s also a concern for you. They had cute zoo-themed cake pops here and if you want a cute panda pop then this is the place for you. I tried their southwestern sandwich on an everything bagel and it was tasty and big enough that you’re full but not overly stuffed. I also tried their cookie bar and it was okay, though I wish I would’ve gone with their raspberry bar instead (maybe next time).

Marie Brown: Beautiful cake pops. I wanted to get a holiday gift for my mom (who already has everything) and support local business at the same time. Online order and curbside pickup were very easy.

Rowan Cloud: I love this place! They have a great variety of options, including gluten and allergen free foods. The staff is very nice and incredibly helpful, and I always feel welcomed coming in here. The decor gifted to them from the zoo across the street are an added bonus- so cute!

Pete Freeman: Typically coming to a bakery at the end of the day is a mistake, and while I missed the morning brownies there were plenty of cake pops and they were excellent! I also want to counter some of the reviews of staff behavior; the woman who helped me was friendly and quick. I’m impressed!

Toby Barg: Can’t speak for the in person experience, but we ordered breakfast and snacks to our hotel for our group and it was nicely presented, delicious, on time. Warm bagels snd cream cheese and other options. Highly recommend the Duffins (donuts crossed with muffins) which were fresh, soft and very delicious (maple glazed and chocolate glazed were our favorites).

The Happy Tart Falls Church: what do users think?

J Q: Amazing bakery! I bought my wedding cake here and it was absolutely delicious. My gluten-eating husband loved their cake so much that he chose to do a fully gluten free cake instead of separate gluten and gluten free cakes like we’d initially planned to do. We couldn’t be happier with how the cake looked or tasted. We got many compliments on it and many guests went back for seconds!

Jessica Thiel: You do not have to be gluten free to love this place. Their food is excellent. Favorite are mushroom turnovers, quiche, scones, chocolate chip cookies. We ordered the lasagna for a family gathering and it was a hit. Don’t miss out!

Kristie DaFoe: Excellent gluten free cupcakes that were liked equally by those who have to be gluten free and those that do not! The buttercream was beautifully formed into floral designs. Would recommend again :)

K NF: I would give them 5 stars just for the crisp and butteriness of the puff/layered pastry in the cream cheese-berry turnover. I drank a red eye along with it. It’s a lot to ask, a delicious coffee / espresso AND delightful gf pastry. Worth it!

C Davidson: The absolute best - incredible tarts and cakes. Started out of a small shop in the Del Ray neighborhood and now located in Falls Church. Worth the effort to go - meals plus pastries. ALL EXCEPTIONAL.

Sticky Fingers Diner: what do users think?

Alyssa Miron: I get overwhelmed when I find a vegan place with this many amazing options. The chick’n tenders were so good paired with a salad, and I took home some tofu “egg salad”. I’ll be back for a Buffalo chick’n wrap and all the pastries. This place is a gem!!! Very attentive service too.

Stacey Maresco: Loved the atmosphere of this place! Definite diner vibes — but 100% vegan food! We ordered a salad, the Mac & cheese and the crazy bones brownie (which was also GF). We liked the food and service was so so. Only thing that would have made this better was more attentive servers. Vibe was great (so was the dessert!)

Larry “Big Schlim” Mcleod: There’s this new’ish Vegan spot on H street in N.E. D.C. The moment I heard about it, I made plans to go!! I went, they have REALLY tasty food, & I ate well. MY experience however…left me feeling unwelcome & slighted (see my customer service segment). . Where I am: @stickyfingersdiner . Location Reviewed: 406 H St., N.E. Washington D.C. . Menu Includes: All Day Breakfast; French Toast, Pancakes, Potatoes, Seitan & Waffles, Impossible Sausage Croissant, Tofu, Corn “Beef” Cabbage, Vegan Calamari, Buffalo Wraps, Pasta Salads, Beyond Burger, Baked Goods, Candy, Beverages, Cocktails, & Shakes. . Items Reviewed: Their Seitan $ Waffles (with 100% maple syrup & hot sauce $14). The fried chicken like Seitan…STAMP!! Crispy & well seasoned!! The waffles were DELICIOUS! Their French Onion Soup (with crostini & smoked Violife slices $8). STAMP!! Flavorful, mild & warm!! Their Oyster Mushroom Calamari (with marinara & a lemon wedge $10). STAMP!! Fried to perfection, you may not even know that these are mushrooms!! Their Roasted Potatoes (with gravy & garlic aioli-$1, $5.75). STAMP!! Undeniably tasty, especially with the gravy & aioli!! Their Chocolate Tiramisu-$8, & Their, non-alcoholic Chai Lemon Fizz-$6). STAMP both of these items!! Delectable, moist tiramisu, & that superbly refreshing fizz!! Get these!! . Customer Service: Bluntly, I wasn’t greeted, or welcomed when I walked in. I was uncomfortably stared at after I greeted the host, I had to ask about seating & how the ordering process worked. So when the patrons that sat next to me were welcomed, asked if it were their first time there, and had the ordering process explained to them w/o asking, I was disappointed. Nobody said anything wrong to me, and I was serviced promptly, but the extra care & concern that those customers received should be standard for all customers. . Online Navigation: Simple . Parking: Rough/Metered/Enforced . Recommendations: The Soup, Potatoes, Tiramisu, Calamari, & definitely the Fizz!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️=STAMP ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️➕=A.DELICIOUS ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️=DELICIOUS ⭐️⭐️⭐️=DECENT ⭐️⭐️=PASS ⭐️=NAH #Bigschlimsreviews

Harmony Hitchner: The food came out looking like an ad! Beautiful, but according to the family it was just as tasty as it looked! I didn’t get a pic of other food because it was gone before I knew it. The service was beyond amazing! Very sweet , and very helpful staff. I just wished they had more allergy friendly food. But overall, would absolutely bring friends and family back to eat there!!

Zack Bloom: This place is unbelievable. The perogie are so good! The poutine was also shockingly great. Don’t miss the Chocolate Egg Cream (no real egg involved of course, it’s all vegan!).

Linda Zh: Average to below average vegan food. The seitan “chicken” was decent but the waffle was soggy. Funfetti cake slice was dense and one-note with its sweetness. The mac and cheese was extremely disappointing - the mac was very thick and flavorless, and it was not adequately coated by the cheese sauce. When we were seated, the hostess mentioned that there’s a 20% service fee included with each order. Fine, but then there’s an additional tip section in the checkout, and the 20% option is the default option. I wouldn’t mind tipping except there’s really no service at all. You scan the QR code to open the menu and order online, and then someone brings the food to you. There’s no one to check on you or refill water. Not a good experience.

L Ram: Can we please get a Fare Well in Atlanta! I’m so thankful I had several vegan options when visiting D.C., I knew after reading reviews I had to visit Fare Well and I’m so glad I did Very small but charming diner serving breakfast all day (Wednesday – Sunday), they also have a bar for people interested in adult beverages. Saturday and Sunday they have a brunch menu. I visited late Sunday around 3pm and there was not wait but it was pretty full inside. I was dining solo and unfortunately couldn’t try too many items, I definitely wanted to try the Buffalo Cauliflower ($12) and it was SO GOOD! I cleaned the bowl and really wish I had this recipe. Its spicy whipped cashew and cauliflower dip served with soy and sheet free tortilla chips. For my entrée I ordered Chilaquiles ($13). It was very filling and a large portion, I couldn’t finish my dish. I loved all of the ingredients and thought it was flavorful but did add some hot sauce since I like my food to have a little spice. The Chilaquiles included tofu scramble, black beans, poblanos, roasted tomato rojo sauce and cilantro crema served with roasted potatoes. I also added avocado ($3). Service was okay, my food was served with a smile which I appreciate.

Vikram Singh: One of the best vegan spots in DC. I had the Perogies with sweet potato poutine and Oreo milkshake. Everything was delicious! I’m just sad it took me this long to get here.

Bakeshop: what do users think?

Gia Pham: the shop itself is already really cute. there’s a good variety of desserts there also. i got red velvet cupcakes and honestly they’re really good I love it! i would definitely come here again soon to try other treats that they have. and another one the price is really good for cupcakes it is buy 5 get one free :) I would totally recommend coming to this place for treats and desserts!

Marie: Ordered a birthday cake for my sister and the staff were absolutely lovely. Although I was unable to try it, my sister said the taro cake was delicious and it’s now her favorite dessert. Planning to stop by and try for myself when I’m in the area. Fairly priced for the high quality of product.

Yuntian Lu: The cakes are really cute and they tasted delicious. I got the sesame cake and the coconut cream cupcake and they were awesome! The sesame cake really had the sesame flavor in it and it was not overly sweet.

Heleen Raes: Got my boyfriend a birthday cake from this bakery and we loved it. Ordering it was really easy and it looked and tasted great. We got it delivered ($35 fee for us) and the delivery was right on time. Super nice!

Michi BS: We live in South Carolina but we came to Arlington for vacation and we went to Cheesecake Factory but it was closed because of the Snow storm, so we start looking some other options and fortunately we found this bake shop!! This place is amazing, we got cookies, key lime pie and others desserts, everything was delicious and fresh! We even got some delicious free samplers of some desserts that the nice guy of the bake shop invite us! The guy that works there was very attentive and nice! Definitely we will come back in every trip to this city!!!

Faylinda Kodis: Love, love, love EVERYTHING I’ve eaten here. Top favorites are the Brookies - which I bring along every time I visit a friend in MD & the pistachio macaroons with such authentic texture! Whenever I buy a pistachio macaroon I eat it within seconds of walking out of the store (would love to see a coffee flavored macaroon). And I do wish Bakeshop would replace their non-recyclable clamshell containers with something more earth friendly. Please! Every cupcake is YUM but I adore the Hostess-like cupcakes with the distinctive curlicue decoration and cream center. Those were a big hit at a recent dinner party!

The CakeRoom: what do users think?

A V: Ordered the raspberry swirl cheesecake and I can say that this is easily the best cheesecake I’ve ever had. Pistachio crust and the jam is such a brilliant decision! If you ever decide to come here please do yourself a favor and order this cake, you won’t regret it.

ko chanel: This is the inedible cake I paid 166 dollars for. The letters were uneven. I honestly think that they forgot about my order and did this in an hour. My dads birthday was ruined. I called these renowned “Kamala Cake Bakers” several times and got no response. When they did finally, answer they stated they give no refunds. I was in a rush to his surprise party and I couldn’t fully assess how horrible the cake was until I removed it from the box. I was placed on hold for an hour until someone finally hung up on me. Shame on you!!!! How horrible can you be! I 1000000 percent do not recommend please find someone else !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This place deserves no ones money

Amirah Prince: Would you serve this cake to Kamala Harris? You posted the cake you made for her with so much pride. It looked great. I guess since I am not a vice president my money must not hold the same value. My Dad could not even eat his birthday cake. I will not rest until we get our money back. 166 dollars for this horrible cake. This business is unethical. The person hung up on me when I called to get return the cake for a refund. They said they can give me the value back in cupcakes. I was placed on hold until I was hung up on YOU PEOPLE ARE EVIL. First time in my life I have been robbed!!!!!!!!!! The cake was dry to the touch. I refused to eat it. It was so dry. WHO made this cake. Did you a hire a helper for a day. 166 dollars. Horrible

ƐK dela Cruz: I had a slice of Peanut butter chocolate cake. It had a great balance of both, the cake was moist and very enjoyable alongside the free coffee or tea that they have readily available. Pricing could be better but also understandable. We’re definitely coming back whenever we’re in the area to try out more from this store!

Traveling Clown: Get there early or else you miss out on some flavors! Cookies and coffee available too! Super sweet icing.

Out of the Bubble Bakery: what do users think?

H H: Such a cute little bakery and good food! Gluten free is hard to find and vegan on top is harder. Loved everyone. Just be sure to clarify what items are not gluten free. They even put stickers on bagged items that are gluten free

Stephanie: A life savior. My son turned 5 yo and had been asking for his own cake. Tried to be a baker myself but no way I can make it even close to a design like this. The most important thing is its dairy and egg free. My son loves it and his birthday party. The owner is very accommodating and made it possible for me. I ordered early like a month but for some reason I missed her email but when I called her in a week notice she still made it possible. I am so lucky. Highly recommend.

Adriana R: This was one of the worst bakeries I’ve been to in the DMV area. Firstly the woman behind the counter just stared at me and looked away as I came inside, which was already super off putting. I got a lemon Bundt cake which was dense and dry and smelled like lemon but barely tasted like it I got a lemon shortbread which was incredibly underwhelming flavor wise but the texture was nice And I also got 6 cupcakes and 3 of them had vanilla bases that all tasted the SAME with super filmy and basically flavorless buttercream. The chocolate cupcakes taste like vanilla with a sprinkle of cocoa flavoring. Also the espresso buttercream is BITTER. I’m a baker myself but I wish I’d stayed home and made myself a batch of cupcakes. At most: 1.5/10 rating, definitely not coming back. Update after owner response; I don’t know if you’re trying to save face but we barely spoke in our exchange. I asked how big the lemon shortbread cookies are and you replied “as big as they normally are” and while immediately after saying that, you showed me, i don’t know if you confused me with a returning customer; but today was my first and last visit. I didn’t know your icing was vegan because we also DID NOT speak about this inside the shop. Thank you for replying but I will not be calling or returning ever again based on the experience and the fact that you are lying about a conversation we supposedly had. Best of luck to you and your business.

Michelle Ely: We loved our cake! We have a family member with peanut allergy and decided to give OBB a try. We ordered a vanilla layer cake with chocolate frosting. It was excellent! Cake was moist and we enjoyed the fudge-like taste and texture of the icing.

Amanda Pollard: Stopped by today for the first time. Personally I didn’t like anything I bought. The cupcakes are almost $4 for 1 and they are extremely dense and lack flavor. The cookies have a good texture but are lacking sugar or a cookie taste. Unfortunately I won’t be returning.

Anita: I bought 12 cupcakes for a super bowl party and they were disappointing! :-( They looked beautiful!!! However, the cake was dense and dry. And, the frosting was overly sweet. Everybody at the super bowl event had the same feed back. The cupcakes were way to expensive to have had so many leftover!

Kristie DaFoe: Great experiences both times I have ordered from them. The peace of mind for those with special diets (we had a celiac and an anaphylactic tree nut allergy in the group) was wonderful. The taste was also great too!

Buttercream Bakeshop: what do users think?

Megan Barnes: The cake of my dreams was created by Tiffany at Buttercream. When we did our tasting I was blown away at how I would be able to choose as every flavor was better than the last. She did an incredible job pulling our English garden vibe together for a beautiful cake on our wedding day.

Chels Owens: Looooooooove their cake and cupcakes! These people are top notch and make high quality baked goods, you will not be disappointed. I got a gorgeous unicorn cake from them that was a huge hit with my friends and I got myself a cotton candy cupcake that was the absolute best.

nitubw: This is my go to bakery for special ordering celebration cakes! Buttercream makes it easy to order online and provide ideas for specialty cakes. My older daughter loved her Wonder Woman cake! It was honestly looked almost too good to eat. Almost. She had her favorite flavor, S’mores. They made my younger daughter’s Moana dream come true with her birthday cake which also incorporated her favorite flavor: Vanilla cake with lemon curd and strawberry buttercream (despite it not being on their menu at that time). The cake was the right amount of sweet and the buttercream was fantastic. My husband had also purchased one of their peek-a-boo cakes (Elderflower soaked lemon cake with blackberry jam and vanilla buttercream) for my birthday. Let’s just say this family of four devoured it!

Kay Chevalier: I was in DC for the weekend and my Airbnb was close to the bakery; I’m too embarrassed to admit the number of times I stopped in to get another treat. Everything I tried was amazing! Like AMAZING!!! Their savory breakfast roll was super. The one I had was filled with egg, cheese, & sausage. The Queen Bee was flakey and soft and buttery and sugary, a perfect balance. Oh my, I want one just thinking about it. Ps.- their unicorn hot chocolate is adorable!

Mackenzie Jandernoa: Super cute and friendly spot! The Reese peanut butter cup cookie bar was absolutely phenomenal and worth every bite. I enjoyed the chocolate chip cookie and the half brownie/half cookie bar as well, however, the funfetti cupcake was a huge miss for me; this certainly could be due to personal preference. It just didn’t have much flavor. More specifically, the frosting was super bland. Overall, it’s still worth stopping in and checking out the variety of treats they have to offer!

Kate Morton: Buttercream was good, the gluten free snickers brownie was tasty but I did hope there would be more gluten free options. My date said the triple chocolate cupcake was good though the icing could’ve been more flavorful.

ThreeFifty Bakery and Coffee Bar: what do users think?

Jessa L: Not sure I can begin to describe the deliciousness of this Pumpkin Cream Cheese Muffin. It is decadent yet light & fluffy. Perfect blend of spices, not overly sweet and incredibly moist. Omg DREAM MUFFIN!!! Goes perfectly with coffee. I hope there will be seating there soon? Would happily pop in to try more items 🤤🤤

Rebecca C: The best scones! Very reasonable priced coffee and food. Swing through earlier in the day if possible because they sell out of options as the day goes on. Highly recommend stopping in! No indoor seating.

Marbin Gonzalez: I got lucky with parking lapped around the block once and found a spot right in front. Located just off u st a quiant little place. Right away you see all the pastries just laid out in front. Seems very busy and they keep reloading pastries. I enjoyed the orange scone a lot and want to try some more stuff.

David Gershman: My go-to! ThreeFifty boasts such warm and lovely staff. I am always happy inside of ThreeFifty. My three favorites: butter crossiant, blueberry scone, and bacon cheddar scone. The staff treat their customers very softly and it’s always a welcoming experience. Nothing better these days than heartwarming exchanges that may last a whole second but stick with you in your heart forever.

Jakob Cansler: My iced coffee and quiche were both disappointing but not bad. Also would have loved to enjoy the patio on such a nice day but it was literally just some plastic benches.

Andrew Sanders: What a great little coffee and bake shop! This place exudes warmth and coziness - but it’s not so cozy that you can’t get work done because you’re falling asleep. The space is small and the seating is limited - 4 spots on the bar at the window, maybe another 6 at the bar along the wall, and a couple small tables. For this reason, a sign on the wall asks that you only stay and use WiFi for 1 hour. Even so, great place!

Michael Philip: I’ve been coming to this place since a few months ago and I think I owe the staff and management and 5 star review. Great coffee (iced mocha!) with various non-dairy selections (yay Oatmilk), and treats I’ve never seen elsewhere in the area. I’d recommend their banana bread and gluten-free oatmeal peanut butter chocolate cookie. Sometimes the place gets packed as it can only seat around 13-15 people inside but I don’t mind at all. There’s outdoor patio seating and that gets packed too, and that says a lot how the amazing the service, food, and atmosphere is at 350. I’m a block away and I’ll frequent this place for as much as I can. 🙂

Pepe C: Some of the best pastries in town and good coffee. I loved the outdoor space that since COVID they kept closed. The quiches are also top notch.

Martha Wilson: Very good baked goods (quiche is especially good) and Illy coffee. Lovely staff and (local) owners. Since the pandemic, this neighborhood spot has lost its serene indoor atmosphere and its charming, outdoor café space – through no fault of its own. I hope it returns to its former glory, as a welcome retreat for locals.

Red Velvet Cupcakery: what do users think?

Lylah Story: Red Velvet Cupcakes is located within another establishment. Which meant that they were open earlier than 11:30am, which was a good thing but I did not like the fact that it did not smell like cupcakes when I walked in😔. My inner PhatGurl was let down!!!

Lani: My last order was bad. The cupcakes here have too much variance in quality. Sometimes the chocolate cupcake is perfect, this last time the frosting was extremely bitter. I’ve bought the red velvet- The signature - and it can taste bland some days and flavorful other times. Summertime is another favorite and it’s been dry/stale before and moist other times. These cupcakes are way too the expensive to not taste that well. This last time was a waste of money. 5/6 of the cupcakes we bought just didn’t taste right. Unfortunately the quality has gone down. I’ve been buying RVC for 4-5 years, I used to frequent the location by the arena downtown. But this location one is not as consistent. I’ve visited this one 5 times. I probably won’t shop here anymore due to that disappointment.

John K: I thought then did a great job either the combinations of flavors. The cupcakes were moist even at the end of day. The frosting was the perfect amount. Too much ruins it. I’d eat here again.

Christina Johnson: So I went to the Red Velvet Cupcakery and didn’t realize its nesltled inside of another restaurant. No biggie though. Staff was friendly and the decor was cute. It’s a rustic city feel and I like that, especially in Chevy Chase. After purchasing several flavors, I was delighted to take them home to my girls and enjoy them for an afternoon snack. While I actually liked the cream cheese icing (on the carrot cake and red velvet flavors), the vanilla icing was a little bland. The cupcakes were dry...like very dry. Three of us felt the same way and these girls are expert cupcake eaters so they’d know🙂. I suppose if you just need a sweet tooth fix they’ll do but the cupcakes are a solid C- in my book. Good luck!

Pluma by Bluebird Bakery: what do users think?

Hannah Hunt: Excellent cardamom morning bun and overall experience. There is a good variety of pastries available to order. This was my first time but I definitely plan to come back. The inside was also beautiful, really nice atmosphere.

Chanpen Tee: The place looks so nice and clean. The staff is friendly. And chocolate croissants is good. I will tey their coffee next time.

Celestino Garcia: This coffee shop is dope. The coffee is a great and the pastries are A1. Breakfast sandwich is pretty good too.

Meg Voorhis: Upscale bakery and coffee spot in the greater union market corridor. Fresh savory vegetarian options and good bread, but a bit pricy (~$50 lunch for 4 items) and service from the made to order menu was slow.

Hannah Yoo: Best pastries in the city!! Seriously I always try to stop in for a bite then end up eating the entire pastry case. I especially love the croissants and morning buns, and they also have beautiful salads and yummy pizzas. Also love that it’s a small business owned by locals. Love spending all day here drinking coffee and catching up with friends on weekends. Neighborhood gem!

Alex: This breakfast sandwich is honestly one of the best in DC. Freshly made bun + tender, sweet, salty pork belly + perfectly cooked egg. Amazing.

Corner Bakery: what do users think?

Calvin Bryant: We we were trapped in DC because of the snow storm Jan 2022. We needed food and a place to escape from the Hilton capital hill for breakfast. Upon discovering Corner Bakery we found both. Great food, service and warm friendly atmosphere. Broccoli Cheddar soup saved the day!

Brian Hammer: This place was close to our hotel so convenient for some breakfast. A good variety of dishes and a great hazelnut coffee. I can also recommend their overnight oats with fruit. Very fair prices for washington dc.

Ukvayat Hanak: I am from rural America and this place was the closest to the prices I enjoy in the Midwest. The flavor was perfect and I will surely be seeking out a Corner Bakery the next time I am exploring DC. I felt more at home by sitting and enjoying breakfast here.

Brett Daviau: Great place for a quick bite. Everyone comes here. Always a line out the door and a pile of bikes outside. Plan on wain the morning.

Daniel Sheffer: Strange location in DC. Closes early at 3. Low staff I guess it’s the times but ordering a simple sandwich was a challenge , lady didn’t know I just wanted a full sandwich not the half combo. I said ok fine give me the soup too , we don’t have soup. Bizarre experience. Needs better Management.

Dog Tag Bakery: what do users think?

John Toth: Pretty good! Breakfast sandwiches were tasty. The quiche was very good. Crusty and cheesy. Coffee was as to be expected.

Rebecca Opiela: I loved it! The staff was super nice and efficient. The space well clean and had a nice bathroom. Everything was wheelchair accessible including the front door and bathroom. The croissant was delicious too! I sat there and read a while and had a nice time.

Alisha T: 🔥 Matcha cherry muffin with cherries inside 🔥 and their chocolate zucchini mini bread is very chocolate rich! Great loose leaf tea selection. Nice and cozy spot.

Karen Laska: Love this place!! Everything is delicious, but my favorites are the chocolate zucchini bread, the egg & cheese on a honey thyme biscuit, and the chocolate chip cookies. It’s a great spot for reading or studying, and the staff members are always so nice. Highly recommend it!

Austin: OVERHYPED. The bakery is certainly tasty, however it is more of a cafe. I arrived on a Sunday morning when they were not busy and purchased both a breakfast sandwich and matcha cherry muffin. The muffin was not noticeable burnt, but it was slightly over cooked as the wrapping was sticking to the muffin and was burnt. The breakfast sandwich with the honey thyme biscuit is AMAZING which earned the three stars. The lady at the register was friendly and prompt to assist me, she spoke loud and clearly; something that is rare nowadays with the masks on. It was also $19 for an egg and cheese sandwich, muffin and a small latte… with oat milk which is like 50¢… I don’t mind paying that if it’s tasty, but it wasn’t.

Charlotte Rhea: it’s delicious! such a cool bakery and i highly recommend the cinnamon bun. it was perfect!

greg nyhus: Lovely, patriotic themed, and inviting bakery. The coffee is outstanding and the baked goods are awesome. Cranberry-apple muffins are generous and the cinnamon rolls are a full meal. Friendly and cheerful staff make the coffee stop or breakfast a great experience. Well done!

Stephanie Adams: Great service. The nice lady who always takes my order takes her time to make sure I know exactly what I’m getting and what else might be good to try. They always have little samples which are pulling me towards a whole cake 😇

Zee MW: Great spot to grab a quick bite. Nice environment.. the folks that work there are amazing. The food is pretty good. Definitely recommended if your in the area!

Maritza Cooper: What a wonderful place to grab a cup of coffee and enjoy with a delicious desert or sandwich. Their decor is lovely. We went for a special Comedy night held by the Armed Services ARTS Partnership! The barista on duty did an amazing job of not only cleaning up for the nite, but set up the food and refreshments flawlessly. She made sure my 7 year old granddaughter was comfortable and well fed. I will be back. Love the idea of empowering Vets! And teaching them business skills to succeed after their service ! Great job Dog Tag Bakery!

District Doughnut: what do users think?

Emily Smith: I loved my experience at District Donut!! Very calm and welcoming environment with a delicious donut and amazing Compass cold brew. One of the only places selling coffee around Eastern Market on Mondays and it’s worth it. Hope to become a regular during my time here; staff is very friendly and helpful! Check them out! 🍩

Zack Williams: I would give District a 5 star review but I was disappointed to see their offerings were not inline with the menu they had displayed on their webpage, so I dropped a star. Aside from that their stuff is fantastic and I was able to find other items to my liking without the two doughnuts I had hoped to get. The staff were friendly and the cinnamon roll was MASSIVE. Make sure you check the hours for the location you are going to because it seems each of their locations go by different hourz.

Mark Orebiyi: I had a chance to stop by District Doughnut and learn some interesting news. They changed their points system. I was pretty upset but the Manager of that branch “Tea” was able to help me out tremendously. The Crème brûlée doughnut is fantastic.

M. M.: DC-famous doughnuts with small town friendly service. One of my favorite doughnut shops in DC. The "Cherry Blossom" and "Lemon Bar" (filled with fresh lemon curd) doughnuts were so yummy!

Corner Bakery: what do users think?

Clayton Russell: The employees here are simply above and beyond on their customer service. Yes, the food is good and the selection is fantastic (you can get everything from perfectly baked snacks to a full plate breakfast special) , but where Corner Bakery really shines is its people. They treat you like family here and really care about the quality of their product and service. It is much appreciated by this customer and I’ll certainly be returning again and again because of this!

Lisa Heilbronn: Bagel and coffee were fine, service seemed a bit disjointed but they were trying hard.

Luis Garza: Expectations were disappointed. Limited menu, not a problem. Prices and service are adequate. Quality of food and portions were substandard to what you see in the pictures and people’s reviews. I found a small fruit fly buried under my salad but because I ate outside couldn’t tell if it came like that or landed in there from being outside. Didn’t bother to investigate to be honest.

DAMIAN PERLA: Great tasting food, very spacious, amd very friendly staff!

Briana Provost: Lunches here are quick and the food is ok. Good in you are in a hurry, but the portions are a little small for what you pay.
