Cozymeal Cooking Classes: what do users think?
Valerie Damond
Valerie Damond: Last night twelve members of my family experienced a truly remarkable Spanish dinner. Chef Greg presented us with a very relaxing and utterly delicious meal. Every course was beautifully displayed and clearly constructed with the best ingredients. He and his helper served us and left the kitchen immaculate. If you would like to experience an expertly crafted Spanish cuisine, I highly recommend Chef Greg.
D H
D H: I had my Cozymeal event today. I have never participated in an online cooking class before, and I must say it was great! My daughter and I took the class making the Chinese dumplings with Chef Li. Chef Li was great and while making the recipes really gave good information on the Chinese culture and the different types of substitutions to use in the event you are not able to get a specific ingredient. She made suggestions regarding kitchen utensils and made sure that all of us were on track with her during her instruction. My only difficulty was with the recipes being in grams and not in US measurements. It would be nice to have both listed. I live in a very rural area and this option of online cooking classes is such a welcome experience. I would definitely take another class!!
Benjamin Bowden
Benjamin Bowden: Really enjoyed having Chef Tiffany cook for my girlfriend and me. Great food, great conversation, and a generally excellent evening. One note: she arrived 45 minutes prior to the scheduled arrival time, when nobody was home. Her early arrival was a positive, as the meal took a few hours to prepare, but Cozymeal should communicate better with the clients about true arrival time. Bottom line: Tiffany provided an excellent French meal, all cooked from scratch, with fresh ingredients. Moreover, there were leftovers! Really looking forward to my next Cozymeal experience.
Alison Ponzi
Alison Ponzi: We had an evening full of freshly made pasta, bruschetta, and bread pudding with Chef Tiffany. I bought a KitchenAid mixer last year with the pasta attachment, and she was open to teaching me how to use it. She also worked with us on our likes/dislikes allowing us to choose a different appetizer. All in all it was a successful night with great food, company, and conversation.
Steven Sacks
Steven Sacks: Positive: Communication, Professionalism, Quality, ValueMy girlfriend and I took the Festival of Indian Flavor with Chef Manjiri. It was such a wonderful experience - she clearly explained the agenda for the class, told us about herself, explained all the ingredients, and then helped us through all four recipes with both laughter and fun. What a great time!
Theano Kampani
Theano Kampani: Really enjoyed having Chef Greg cook for my husband and me. Great food, and great conversation! We highly recommend Chef Greg and his Spanish dishes. The star of the menu was the dessert for us :)
Kathleen Norwood
Kathleen Norwood: This was a wonderful experience. Chef Gustavo was a delightful host and instructor He shared knife and preparation tips as well as the history of the food. The food was muy rico and we came away with many tips to make prep easier and food tastier for making a yummy paella as well as other dishes. Chef Gustavo created a welcoming, warm and relaxed evening. Thank you, Chef Gutavo!
Niki Holmes
Niki Holmes: We had an amazing experience with Chef Judith. Her recipes were easy; we had great company; and the Chef taught us some very useful techniques. --Plus--The food tasted so delicious!

CulinAerie: what do users think?
Ryan McGorty
Ryan McGorty: Culinaerie is one of, if not, the most well-known recreational cooking school in the area. They offer a lot of different cooking instruction to aspiring cooking enthusiasts of all different skill levels. They have an online calendar that shows which classes are available and when. The classes book fast, so be ready to book if you see one you like. You can take individual classes on a class-by-class interest basis, or participate in a series of classes designed to improve your skills through a structured course. If you want to take a knife skills class, learn how to make Thai food, or even make tapas, they have a wide offering of options. The actual location consists of two instruction kitchens, with one being significantly larger than the other. The instructor leads the class through the cooking demonstration and there are overhead TVs and assistants in the room to help in case you need it. The instructor usually walks around while you are cooking/preparing food to give you tips. I went here for a date night cooking class and we had a very good experience. We learned a new recipe which we’ve cooked on our own at home. It is pretty expensive, but it made for a great experience.
Michael Alexander
Michael Alexander: We came here for my fiancé’s employer’s Christmas party. It was a fantastic! I love to cook and pursue it as a serious hobby. The instructor was great. She was patient with those who did not know techniques and gave pointers to those of us with working culinary knowledge. I will be planning a family function here in future.
M. Marzulla
M. Marzulla: We did the "Date Night: Craft Cocktails & Small Plates from Mexico City" with Eliza Gonzalez and it was fantastic! The instructions were easy to follow and the dishes were delicious! It was fun learning how to make the cocktails as well, and both instructors were super friendly and helpful! I definitely recommend signing up for one of the date night courses, it turned out to be one of the best dates we have had in a while!
Brittany Gerig Campbell
Brittany Gerig Campbell: We had a fantastic experience at the couples cooking and wine pairing class. High quality food, helpful assistants, and an instructor who was a former chef and really knew her stuff. Wine was free-flowing and we never felt rushed. Would definitely come back!
Amanda Burkholder
Amanda Burkholder: We took a bread making class at CulinAerie and had a blast! The teacher was knowledgeable and clear. We made four different kinds of bread and got to take it home. The class took about three hours, which included instruction, mixing, kneading, and baking the bread. They served complimentary wine, coffee and tea during the class which was a great touch. We will definitely take a class from CulinAerie again!
Vanessa
Vanessa: Took a french macaron class over the weekend. It was actually a really fun experience! The macarons came out so much better than I anticipated! I thought for sure we would bomb the recipe. What makes this experience fun is sitting at the same table with fun friendly people :) The chef was good, though a bit curt. The staff that was helping was really nice. I would definitely come back to do this again. Great date night idea, or something fun to do with friends.

Tiny Chefs: what do users think?
Julya Fridman
Julya Fridman: I invited Tiny Chefs to conduct a cooking class at my home in CT for my daughter’s birthday party. She and all 11 of her 4-10 year old guests greatly enjoyed the party! In fact, after the class was over, my daughter requested to do it again next year. For 2 hours, two Tiny Chefs staff members were working with the kids, allowing adults (parents) some time to catch up and the best part was that the kids got to enjoy their own creations at the end. I would highly recommend Tiny Chefs!
Response: Awesome, thank you much!
Kristina Woo
Kristina Woo: I signed my son up for a summer camp hosted by tiny chefs. He really loved it, and he is one to do something one day and not want to return the next; but this time he kept wanting to go back!! He had confidence in the things they taught him and was excited to share! I will definitely be sending him to more classes hosted by Tiny Chefs!
Response: Yes! We love to inspire. Thank you for your post!
Suzy Ghannam
Suzy Ghannam: Wonderful experience! We had a birthday party for my 9 year old and it was loved by all! The girls really felt proud of their work and enjoyed every moment. I had ZERO to worry about! Tiny Chefs did an amazing job! Would highly recommend for those who want a worry-free event!
Response: Thank you very much!
Carolyn Fruzzetti
Carolyn Fruzzetti: My daughter really enjoys the Tiny Chefs camps. The curriculum is well-planned and the staff is professional. I am a culinary school graduate and am pleased with the educational and fun cooking environment (where they clean up their own mess!).
Response: Thank you for your comments! We really appreciate the time you took to provide us with feedback. We look forward to seeing your daughter at a future event!
Thomas Page, Jr
Thomas Page, Jr: My 10 year old loved it- evidently one of her favorite summer camps- ever! Had to order her to bring some of her efforts home as she kept eating everything she made; and what she brought back was delicious! She now wants to go to more baking and cooking based camps.
Response: I love this, very exciting to hear and our personal goal is for our campers to be inspired. Thank you for sharing.
tom parkins
tom parkins: My 3 year old daughter likes pizza and chocolate pudding so I signed us for up for the Tiny Chefs "Pizza & Dirt with Dad" event at Mamma Lucia’s in Bethesda. The online ad looked good and even included a video of kids making & baking personal size pizzas at their events. So I paid the $60 event fee and went to Mamma Lucia’s on Father’s Day. We quickly learned that the ‘pizza’ was actually a small, cold, flour tortilla with raw toppings; that’s right, unbaked ‘pizza’ at an Italian Pizza restaurant. While sitting at the table in disbelief with other parents, I double checked the Tiny Chefs website on my cell phone. After scrolling thru the ad again, the word “pizza” appeared 7 times and at the very bottom of the ad in small print it did say “Pizza, Pizza Roll Up” however there was no mention of an ‘unbaked’ pizza product. My daughter took two bites and threw it away. I mentioned our dissatisfaction to the instructor at the event and she said that ‘she just works there but she would tell management.’ Not confident that would happen, I sent an email to Tiny Chefs management, not something I wanted to do on Father’s Day. Needless to say, after receiving six patronizing emails from them over the next few days, I was informed that they decided to offer an ‘unbaked’ pizza product for safety reasons but chose not to disclose that in their ads; that is misleading! So I googled images of ‘Pizza Roll Ups’ and all of the pictures show baked pizza roll ups. But management dismissed that and felt that $60 was reasonable for a cold, flour tortilla with raw toppings. Really??? So to appease me, I was offered a coupon good towards a future purchase of another Tiny Chefs event worth $30. And risk putting myself through another experience like this with misleading advertising, overpriced ‘pizza’ (or similar food product) and receive yet more dismissive communications from their corporate office? No thank you. So parents, Buyer Beware of Tiny Chefs. Read the fine print & ask questions before purchasing because they don’t offer a customer satisfaction guarantee; and once they have your credit card number, your money is gone. Avoid the disappointment, misleading advertising, overpriced food, unscrupulous business practices and aggravation in dealing with a condescending management team. I just discovered that Wegmans offers a kids cooking class for $10 where you get a large, hot pizza – imagine that! Caveat Emptor!
Response: Thanks for your review Tom. We always aim to please our kids and parents and know you were sadly disappointed with the menu option. We have implemented a customer satisfaction guarantee and hope you will return to a future Tiny Chefs event!

The Sweet Lobby: what do users think?
Larry “Big Schlim” Mcleod
Larry “Big Schlim” Mcleod: **Disclosure** I DROPPED THE CUPCAKE BOX...AGAIN!! So please pardon the pictures...I snapped what I could!! Ok I’ve slid pass this place many a day, not knowing what they sold. I’m LATE...I know!! So I slowed my role, I stopped in, and was awestruck by alluring baked goods scent, and the visually stunning set up of cupcakes & macaroons they have!! Better late than never is what they say right? Riiigghhttt!! Well I’m glad I stopped @thesweetlobby located at 404 8th St., S.E. Washington DC!! Ok this spots cupcakes are baked daily, are void of shortening, and come in too many flavors to name here!! Here’s some of the cupcakes I copped (pictured at $3.25 ea.); The Red velvet, The Boston Cream pie, The infinity chocolate, Lemon, salted caramel, The Carrot Cake, The Strawberry, The S’mores, and The Chocolate crunch cupcake!! So I smashed the Infinity cupcake before leaving the area...moist, rich, flavorful...simply decadent!! Truly what a cupcake is supposed to be!! I tried ONE macaroon whilst in store via the delightful mangers suggestion. They got me!! I wasn’t even in there for the macaroons...but again, I’m glad I snatched them up. I got a six pack at $2.10 each. Flavors included Chocolate, Birthday Cake, Lemon, Strawberry, their liquor infused Green Apple, and their uniquely flavored spicy rose macaroons. Y’all...the price for the cookies are WORTH IT!! They are that much of a delicacy. They are REALLY flavored well...if you get a Lemon macaroon...it taste like straight up lemon!! Get these...TRUST!! The my also have liquor infused cookies, and cupcakes!! Customer service was of the utmost quality (it’s a intimate space so you get a really good experience while there). Parking is rough, metered, and on a busy 8th street!! Overall this spot has got my loyalty...you can’t deny how delicious their products are!! It’s hard to chose just one flavor. I’ll be back!! That’s it!! #macarons #cupcakes #deliciousness #thesweetlobbydc #goodness #blackownedbusiness #bigschlimsreviews #flavors #deliciouseats #dcfoodie #smores #chocolate #strawberry #carrotcake #greenapple #rich #palatepleaser #musthaves #thatsit
Christopher Thompson
Christopher Thompson: Rarely do i write reviews, but the macaroons and cupcakes here are superb. I’m not huge fan of cupcakes but the strawberry champagne is delicious, buttery and moist. And the macaroons - holy smokes 🤤...i wasn’t expecting such flavor. The wait was long as there were 4 customers ahead of me, but well worth it.
Lezora Arter
Lezora Arter: I ordered a dozen cupcakes for my thirty - something year old daughter . The person taking my order was very courteous and patient. The packaging was impeccable . The cupcakes were delicious ! I had to order one special cupcake for my five year old granddaughter too. It was placed in a little box & my granddaughter was super delighted. I was more than satisfied.
Raquel Snowden
Raquel Snowden: I purchased cupcakes for a family members 55th birthday. When we cut into the lemon cupcake, they found what appears to be mold. I am so upset! I have been going to SL for years and this was the 1st time something like this occurred. Soooooooooo Disappointed! I would have called to share this info with the bakery directly but it appears that the phone number that was previously listed has been removed, hence the posting.
Aurelie Boissy
Aurelie Boissy: I was just curious to try these cupcakes because their texture and design look so yummy! I picked up a chocolate/vanilla which didn’t feel very fresh, maybe It’s because I got there right before closing and the cake was sitting there for long but it tasted like it was there all day! On the other side, the piña colada was so soft and yummy; I regret not taking 2 of this! I think price is fair for the amount!
Christina Zielke
Christina Zielke: Updated: When I finally got ahold of the owner she got my order delivered right away. The cupcakes were amazing - moist and delicious. I do wish they had labeled them in some way as we ordered a mix but they were so good. The macarons had great flavor but a couple flavors were a bit dry. Overall I’d definitely get their cupcakes again but I’d probably get macarons elsewhere and not online order/ ask for delivery. I placed an online order for delivery for a birthday several days in advance. I called the morning of to confirm the order. When it came time for delivery nothing arrived. I waited an hour, attempted to call the bakery half a dozen times and was unable to reach anyone. We paid extra for service fees to order online, delivery fee and tip but no delivery, no communication. I would not recommend online ordering especially if you need something at a specific time . I will update my review to take into account actual review of products if I ever receive a delivery.
Kiley Mccarty
Kiley Mccarty: DO NOT order from The Sweet Lobby! I ordered 2 dozen cupcakes for Friday, Jan 21 and when I went to pick up, no one was at the bakery! I tried to call multiple times but no one answered. I never received a phone call back or refund of my money! Beware!
M. Simone Boyd
M. Simone Boyd: I ordered a gift set for a friend’s birthday in February and it still has not arrived. Twice they’ve said that it has shipped. I’ve requested a refund, and I will not be ordering from them again. This coincides with what others have said about Sweet Lobby’s lack of customer service.
Olga Kashirina
Olga Kashirina: I think it was the worst macarons I ever tried: overly dry, crispy and the filling inside is just a buttercream. We tried 7 different flavors but they all tasted the same. It’s not even close to French macarons. Disappointing

Buttercream Bakeshop: what do users think?
Megan Barnes
Megan Barnes: The cake of my dreams was created by Tiffany at Buttercream. When we did our tasting I was blown away at how I would be able to choose as every flavor was better than the last. She did an incredible job pulling our English garden vibe together for a beautiful cake on our wedding day.
Response: Thank you so much Megan!! You were such a JOY to work with. We are beyond grateful for word full clients like you!!!
Chels Owens
Chels Owens: Looooooooove their cake and cupcakes! These people are top notch and make high quality baked goods, you will not be disappointed. I got a gorgeous unicorn cake from them that was a huge hit with my friends and I got myself a cotton candy cupcake that was the absolute best.
nitubw
nitubw: This is my go to bakery for special ordering celebration cakes! Buttercream makes it easy to order online and provide ideas for specialty cakes. My older daughter loved her Wonder Woman cake! It was honestly looked almost too good to eat. Almost. She had her favorite flavor, S’mores. They made my younger daughter’s Moana dream come true with her birthday cake which also incorporated her favorite flavor: Vanilla cake with lemon curd and strawberry buttercream (despite it not being on their menu at that time). The cake was the right amount of sweet and the buttercream was fantastic. My husband had also purchased one of their peek-a-boo cakes (Elderflower soaked lemon cake with blackberry jam and vanilla buttercream) for my birthday. Let’s just say this family of four devoured it!
Kay Chevalier
Kay Chevalier: I was in DC for the weekend and my Airbnb was close to the bakery; I’m too embarrassed to admit the number of times I stopped in to get another treat. Everything I tried was amazing! Like AMAZING!!! Their savory breakfast roll was super. The one I had was filled with egg, cheese, & sausage. The Queen Bee was flakey and soft and buttery and sugary, a perfect balance. Oh my, I want one just thinking about it. Ps.- their unicorn hot chocolate is adorable!
Mackenzie Jandernoa
Mackenzie Jandernoa: Super cute and friendly spot! The Reese peanut butter cup cookie bar was absolutely phenomenal and worth every bite. I enjoyed the chocolate chip cookie and the half brownie/half cookie bar as well, however, the funfetti cupcake was a huge miss for me; this certainly could be due to personal preference. It just didn’t have much flavor. More specifically, the frosting was super bland. Overall, it’s still worth stopping in and checking out the variety of treats they have to offer!
Kate Morton
Kate Morton: Buttercream was good, the gluten free snickers brownie was tasty but I did hope there would be more gluten free options. My date said the triple chocolate cupcake was good though the icing could’ve been more flavorful.

All American Bakery: what do users think?
Shalette Brown
Shalette Brown: I’d like to say that I ABSOLUTELY LOVE, LOVE, LOVE THIS PLACE!!! I have ppl trying to hook me up or get me to use their products and services but I typically refuse, cause I love All American Bakery and what they have to offer, from the point system, to the birthday special / complimentary offering, to the friendly and welcoming staff I’ve had the pleasure to meet and interact with. The environment is very down to earth and honestly I can go on and on. I just wish there was a location closer to where I live, but bets believe I make it work and still travel approximately an hour to visit their north capital street location.
Dion Thomas
Dion Thomas: Extremely terrible customer service. Store allegedly opens at 9 but had me sitting in the lobby for 30 mins. When the lady finally started working; mind you again, 30 mins LATE, she had a horrible attitude and acts as if she is doing me a favor that I was spending my money.. this is supposed to be a business. You’ll get better customer service from a street corner.. will never shop at this place again
Inaya Molina
Inaya Molina: This place is fantastic! It’s always reliable and has the most friendly staff. Special shout-out to Mo and Dee for being so patient and helpful with the recommendations. Cannot recommend this place enough!
Thy Neighbor
Thy Neighbor: Not in the greatest location of DC but they treat you like family ! I love coming here . Ever since I found them online they have become my go to store for my needs ! Security is great! Very professional!! Staff is professional as well and they always treat you with kindness. Keep it up guys!!
Juan McCrory
Juan McCrory: The customer service here is top notch! Perfectly convenient and courteous.
Andrew Hur (FinalWord)
Andrew Hur (FinalWord): Sells fake products. When products do not work they will not replace. Massively over priced. Avoid, there are much better places
Upper 3 Moon
Upper 3 Moon: The two cashiers Dearra (probably spelling it wrong) and Nay were very helpful in helping me pick an amazing flower as well as teaching about the different vaping you guys offer, will definitely be back!

Molly Cooper
Molly Cooper: I LOVE THIS PLACE!!! We both got an americano (one hot, one iced) with oat milk. It was only around $8 which for DC I was expecting way more. The people working were so nice! I also grabbed sugar to put in it but it didn’t need it at all! This is the best coffee I’ve had in ages! It made me so happy :) thanks guys!!
P. B.
P. B.: Possibly the nicest coffee and goodies I have tasted in Washington.Excellent service, with friendly staff.Try the Almond Biscotti as treat for home.
Sonia Chlup
Sonia Chlup: What a lovely bakery. Friendly staff, well priced pastries. Will be back before leaving Washington.
Mary P
Mary P: Ordered two cakes here. Vanilla strawberry was very good 4/5 stars. The chocolate mouse cake- the mouse was delicious, but the cake was dry and had no flavor! Everyone agreed mouse was the only good part about that cake. Didn’t taste like chocolate at all 2/5. Easy ordering and pickup. They had no bag for two large cake boxes so bring your own. Also, one box had frosting on the bottom so we had to ask to be re-boxed so we wouldn’t get on our clothes. Would try again but not order the chocolate mouse cake.
Hanna Foreman
Hanna Foreman: The coffee and pastries here are at great prices for the area. Highly recommend the lattes and cappuccinos here. The cookies are to die for and highly recommend the ginger cookies. Croissants here could be a little warmer, but the savory ones are generous with the cheese. The staff is always super friendly.
Manasi Kabadi
Manasi Kabadi: Love this bakery. They have so much variety. Their breads are really good too.
Michael C

Jack Luxemburg
Jack Luxemburg: Though out of the way in an industrial part of Rockville, it is worth the trip. The baked goods are excellent even if the selection is somewhat limited. That the bakery is also a training and employment center for people with disabilities makes buying there doubly good. There are a range of products that are gluten free, vegetarian and maybe vegan.

Fonsetta Badger Brown
Fonsetta Badger Brown: The cooking class was loads of fun. Pressure cooked short ribs, mushr!ooms risotto and cheesecake with caramel sauce.. The instructor was awesome!
Tatiana Padilla
Tatiana Padilla: Finally got to do a class in person after joining several virtual ones, we LOVED the experience! It was my Christmas gift to my mom and best friend, it was fun— delicious— and they couldn’t wait to try the recipes at home. Lots of hands on practice, PLENTY of food, and the chef+assistant we’re very engaged and kind. Excited to be back in two weeks for Italian steak night 😋 A few ways the class could be improved: —I ’ve grown up in the US since I was 5yoa, and even I had a bit of hard time understanding the prof. He spoke a tad bit fast/muffled. — offer BYOdrinks, we were sad to be drinking water with such a nice meal. — groups of 2-3 max per station so everyone has a chance to help with the prep. Our group of 3 had 2 stations and we felt that was PERFECT! Wouldn’t want to be 4 people to one station.
Rasha Sharif
Rasha Sharif: Zero for customer service! The lady named Donna was terrible! She did not ask me for my email to add the amount I purchased toward my perks program. She was cold and did not hide her racism from the beginning! I love Sur la table but this was annoying. I want my perks added!! Edit: I love sure la table and I shop online ! This was my first time to stop at the store next door and I was disappointed :(
Alexis McCoy
Alexis McCoy: I loved the cooking class (steak frites, 01May22) the instructor was very knowledgeable and provided tips for other meals with similar ingredients. Would love to do it again.
L. Charisse Davis
L. Charisse Davis: I was looking for some upscale corn holders. They did not have any like that. I started looking around at other things, like cloth napkins. They had some nice ones. But others appeared a bit shopworn (dirty) and were not marked down. I had a hard time swallowing the prices of the "new" ones, much less the shopworn ones that were the same prices. I guess made of linen in India costs more than made in China. 🤭 It is a beautiful store, both inside and out (loved the beautiful potted plants outside), and it does have some nice things--baking pans, appliances, kitchen tools, etc.--just not what I was looking for. Oh, and the staff was very pleasant and tried to be helpful.
Cynthia Davis
Cynthia Davis: My friend and I came here for the pasta cooking class with Chef Scott. It was absolutely incredible we couldn’t stop talking about it all the way home. The instructor was incredibly knowledgeable and fun and all the food was delicious. We thoroughly enjoyed our girls night out and we will definitely be back for more classes!
Kyle D
Kyle D: The staff is friendly, helpful, but will let you shop if you want to alone. You can get really high end knives and cookware ($1600+) here!
Jay Empty
Jay Empty: So much fun learning to make sushi tonight with Chef Cacchiitti and my table partner Adele.

Overall a decent place with vegan and gluten-free options. Nut-free and kosher if that’s also a concern for you. They had cute zoo-themed cake pops here and if you want a cute panda pop then this is the place for you. I tried their southwestern sandwich on an everything bagel and it was tasty and big enough that you’re full but not overly stuffed. I also tried their cookie bar and it was okay, though I wish I would’ve gone with their raspberry bar instead (maybe next time).
Marie Brown
Marie Brown: Beautiful cake pops. I wanted to get a holiday gift for my mom (who already has everything) and support local business at the same time. Online order and curbside pickup were very easy.
Rowan Cloud
Rowan Cloud: I love this place! They have a great variety of options, including gluten and allergen free foods. The staff is very nice and incredibly helpful, and I always feel welcomed coming in here. The decor gifted to them from the zoo across the street are an added bonus- so cute!
Pete Freeman
Pete Freeman: Typically coming to a bakery at the end of the day is a mistake, and while I missed the morning brownies there were plenty of cake pops and they were excellent! I also want to counter some of the reviews of staff behavior; the woman who helped me was friendly and quick. I’m impressed!
Toby Barg
Toby Barg: Can’t speak for the in person experience, but we ordered breakfast and snacks to our hotel for our group and it was nicely presented, delicious, on time. Warm bagels snd cream cheese and other options. Highly recommend the Duffins (donuts crossed with muffins) which were fresh, soft and very delicious (maple glazed and chocolate glazed were our favorites).

Catania Bakery: what do users think?
We've Got A Lot
We've Got A Lot: Best Authentic Italian Bakery in DC. Very personal family run business, they bake for restaurants or sell by the loaf. My family has been going here for 60+ years. Come out and support them.
Sue D
Sue D: NOT open on Fridays. This would be a very enthusiastic 5 rating if they kept their hours updated. I took time off work to come here to get supplies for a dinner party tonight, and there was a sign on the door. Ended up driving all over the city and got in trouble with work. Also, this place is CASH ONLY.
t d
t d: The best bakery in DC! All of the Italian restaurants use their bread. Open to public in Saturday.
Anna Turo
Anna Turo: An adorable place! The owner is a very sweet person who will give you excellent food recommendations. The croissants are also pretty darn good. Try the strawberry or chocolate! I only got a pic of the blueberry muffin (yum!) and the sfogliatelle (citrus ricotta filling)..I ate the croissants too fast.
Paul Lee
Paul Lee: Truly a hidden gem and historic treasure in DC - hard to find family run bakeries like this anywhere in the city (or in the country) these days, so go support Al! (And before the pastries run out!)
Shelbi Svoboda
Shelbi Svoboda: Catania Bakery is a small shop only open Saturday mornings for pastry and bread (they primarily do wholesale during the week). The croissants are cheap and amazing! The cookies are handmade - a bit pricier because of the ingredients but so amazing. Their shortbread tarts taste like Christmas and joy. It’s run by a sweet, older couple who make A+ morning conversation.
Alelia Hill
Alelia Hill: I ❤ this place. Walk there every Saturday morning. Best croissants ever! Soft favorable and great!!
Hally P
Hally P: Just took time off of work to go to the bakery but they aren’t actually open on Fridays any more. Big bummer.

Rise Bakery: what do users think?
Dumdi B.
Dumdi B.: I’m always on the hunt for good treats that are both gluten and dairy free. I was so happy to find Rise Bakery! My favorite was the vegan double chocolate cupcake and the vegan cookies and cream cupcake. Both went really well with unsweetened almond milk. Such a nice treat for date night. Thank you for the existence of this place!
Response: Thanks so much for your review! Glad to hear you enjoyed the dairy-free cupcakes! We focused on adding some extra dairy-free/vegan items to the 2022 winter and spring menus :)
Sadie Vogt
Sadie Vogt: Absolutely delicious! In town for work so I had to stop here and try their gluten free options! Recommend to every gluten free person in DC who has a sweet tooth!!
Peregrine Sky
Peregrine Sky: Cute, unfortunately no dine in at this time, progressive bakery. Lots of options for all kinds of dietary restrictions, soy, nut, dairy and all gluten free. 18th Street sandwich was amazing! These are certainly the best gluten free pastries I’ve ever had but they are still not delicious like normal pastries!
JT Mitchell
JT Mitchell: Both the Oreo cupcake and the apple fritter were pretty good. Both are also vegan. I’d say I like the fritter better. Had some good bite to it. The cupcake was tasty. Pretty solid.
Anna L
Anna L: Very very happy with my experience at rise. Got the 18th street sandwich - delicious bread with arugula, herbed Mayo, bacon, and tomato. I also got a cherry turnover that was amazing. Yet to try the cheddar jalapeño loaf and the strawberry cheesecake but they look great. Can’t wait to come back another time.
Response: So happy to hear you enjoyed everything, Anna. Hopefully we will see you soon
Danielle Somers
Danielle Somers: Hands down best GF bakery in the DMV. All of their baked goods are incredible and their customer service is excellent. We had our wedding cake made there and everyone sung their praises. Worth the trip!
LP
LP: Cute little gluten free shop with additional egg nut and soy free options. First gluten free spot I’ve tried that is moist and flavorful. Yum! I got the raspberry danish.

Bread Bite Bakery: what do users think?
Camille Kirsch
Camille Kirsch: Great bagels and great smoothies! The cupcakes are pretty good, too. There’s a $5 credit card minimum.
Sonali Patel
Sonali Patel: A little bakery with deli for breakfast and lunch options. Service was very good. Good place for a quick bite! Chocolate croissant was amazing! Would definitely go when I visit DC again. There is not much space to sit and eat there so keep that in mind.
Chanpen Tee
Chanpen Tee: The croissants are delicious. Their size is big. And bagels are good too
Brandon Barnett
Brandon Barnett: A decent spot for a local bagel sandwich at an affordable price. There aren’t too many other nearby spots for bagels so this is a must have at least once. I’m not sure if I was impressed enough to go back too often but it’s a perfect place to snag a snack to take to Meridian Hill Park a couple blocks away.
Karen Clark-Reddon
Karen Clark-Reddon: Fast service and delicious cakes though the street parking is tricky.
Tyler McComas
Tyler McComas: Great spot in the area for lunch or delicious pastries. They make their own bread. Highly recommend the sourdough.

Patisserie Poupon: what do users think?
Vikram Seshadri
Vikram Seshadri: Came across this nice little bakery on the way to Dumbarton Oaks. They have amazing cakes, croissants and pies. The fruit cheesecake was the best one ever.
Dagmar
Dagmar: The customer service was great. They were friendly, kind and packed my cakes up with care. Cakes were delicious and not overly sweet. I went for two cakes and ended up leaving with four (my own choice) lol I bought extra to share. Coffee was good too a medium to light blend.
Sarah Millet
Sarah Millet: Had some time to kill and stopped here for some pastries and coffee ! Everything was super tasty and authentic ! The coffee was on point and to top it off, they have the cutest patio.
Sarah Diligenti
Sarah Diligenti: The go-to place for Fraisiers cakes and for their scrumptious Hazelnut Yule Log at Christmas. I also love their Americano, which I reserve as a guilty pleasure almost once a month on Sundays, together with their almond croissant. My only regret is that the back patio is too small and shady and sitting outside in the front on the curb kills the joy of sipping an excellent coffee: noise and exhaust fumes dampen the experience.
Mark P
Mark P: Great little bakery that my family and fiance explored when in georgetown. We got coffee from the espresso bar in the back, which were delicious. We got a spinach / cheese savory pastry, a pain au chocolat, and this really cool raspberry mousse/cake thing. All of it was fantastic. Service was really nice and the line moved fast. Bathrooms in the back.
Dania Ramirez
Dania Ramirez: We stopped here for lunch. The coffee was really good and the fruit tarts just delightful. We also ordered a quiche and sandwiches. Everyone was super happy with their orders. I would definitely come back! Highly recommend!

Imagine Cake Studio: what do users think?
Rick Garcia
Rick Garcia: They came through last minute with an amazing cake! A company canceled on me Thursday night for a Sunday event. I emailed Imagine Studio and they came through. They are very friendly and great customer service. Their cakes were super moist and beautifully done! Love this place. They also support the military!
Response: Glad we had the opportunity to help out! Thank you for your business!
Brandi H
Brandi H: We’ve ordered several cakes from them at this point. One time we actually were given the wrong cake but it worked out fine in the end. Since then we have always paid the extra $25 to have the cake delivered instead of picking it up. The cakes always taste amazing and always look good. I can trust that the pic I send of the cake I want is what I will get. The only thing I will say is that my last cake was delivered in a box that smelled like smoke, so I had to immediately take it out of the box and throw the box away. It did not affect the cake’s taste thankfully.
Mariama Y.K. Smart
Mariama Y.K. Smart: I ordered a CocoMelon cake 3 days before a godsons birthday party and they did not disappoint. The cake not only looked good, it tasted awesome!!! I will definitely be using their services again!!!
Response: We are so glad you were pleased! Thank you!
Tiffany Balmer
Tiffany Balmer: they should change their name to cupcakes and customer service. The drop off of the cup cakes was top tier. I learned how to properly unbox cupcakes!!! thanks for taking the time to bake and teach. They were so cute and yummy. Thanks!!!
whitney hurley
whitney hurley: Made a beautiful cake that tasted amazing! The cake was bigger than I was expecting, but that’s not a bad problem to have. The design was exactly as requested.
Maria Zenquis
Maria Zenquis: I ordered the 15 cupcakes and was delivered on sept 24. The cupcakes didn’t taste fresh and also I thought that all 15 cupcakes were going to fit in one box. Would I have known that I would’ve just order 12 . It was awkward to see two boxes and one box had only 3 in them . I’m addition you guys should really work on your packaging . It’s looks generic . I may have well just bought cupcakes from store rather than ordered them . Thank you . But I will not order again and will give your company a bad review
Blain
Blain: They deliver the cake 2 and half hours late after we finished the birthday celebration. On top of that, we ordered vanilla flavor, but we received chocolate. Very disappointing.

Praline Bakery at The Wharf: what do users think?
Philippe Jacques Kradolfer
Philippe Jacques Kradolfer: The Praline Bakery seems large for the few products they had when we visited them. Entering it, as it looked like an European store from the outside, we were surprise at the very simple and kind of lack of personality of the store inside. Both main displays were basically empty but had great macaroons (specially the apricot and caramel ones!). Although the price per piece was rather high for the size of the macaroons, (smaller than regular macaroons) the taste made it worth the price. The day we were there they had Italian soft nougat bars in several different flavors. Although the price was also high the quality and taste was great!!! We bought several of these bars and we enjoyed them very much!!! The girls at the counter were less than friendly!!
Malinda Hollingsworth
Malinda Hollingsworth: Customer service needs improving! Please put friendly people behind the counter. The young lady working clearly didn’t want to be there. The owners of this place clearly are not present or involved. The red velvet cupcake was awful. It tasted days old. I wish I could have written a better review.
Sue D
Sue D: Gross. Soggy, tasteless, tiny macarons for $1.95 each. There were lots in the display, but I was still given broken ones in a plastic clamshell by a woman whose mask was FAR below her nose. Hideous decor with angry political posters. The only bags they had were huge. There’s no excuse for such a terrible business. I’ll be shocked if they’re still around a month from now.
Bin_aujan
Bin_aujan: The shop is clean respected crew delicious Food The price is right All kinds of sweets are delicious I loved I recommend
Summers Journey
Summers Journey: The customer service is very poor. It seems like the workers do not enjoy their job at all. Though the baked items are ok, I will not be returning to the bakery due to the horrendous customer service. No thank you!
L. Navarro
L. Navarro: Great location. Ok coffee . Only sells cupcakes and weak sandwiches. Needs a better product before the upcoming Starbucks takes your most of your business.
Ashley Rhame
Ashley Rhame: Here’s the thing, I used to love getting their s’mores cookie. I’d get them every time I’d walk the wharf for like 3 years. Then all of a sudden they never have them in stock anymore. They said they’d be back in January and I’ve yet to see them return.

Seylou Bakery: what do users think?
Da-Wang Wu
Da-Wang Wu: First time buying from this bakery. The cheese scone and croissant were pretty good, but we didn’t enjoy the bird bread that much. I guess people who like nutty texture might enjoy it more. I ordered mocha, and the staff told me that I couldn’t adjust the level of sweetness because they used chocolate milk to make the mocha, which was a bit weird for me. Would look forward to trying some other breads in the future since they actually look pretty good!
Michelle Keller
Michelle Keller: Gorgeous bakery in a modern space. I had the buckwheat strawberry muffin, which was delicious. Excellent crumb, not too dense, with whole strawberries baked right in. I also had the vegetable frittata. The texture was divine, light and airy.
Christine S
Christine S: Small local bakeries are all the hype nowadays, so I’d add Seylou to your list if you’re a fan of whole grain pastries and sourdough. I’m a croissant fiend, so I had to try their whole wheat almond croissant. Certainly one of the more unique croissants I’ve ever tried– if you’re expecting a flaky and buttery croissant, you won’t find it here. If you’re looking for a seemingly healthier and heartier croissant, then Seylou is for you. They could have done a better job with the frangipane filling. I also tried their savory monkey bread with spicy peppers and enjoyed the light sourdough flavor.
Breana's Toast
Breana's Toast: I´ve visited renowned bakeries all over the world and Seylou offers hands down the best bread and pastries I´ve ever had. You can taste the organic locally sourced grain in every single bite! Anyone who lives in the DC area is fortunate to have this piece of grain heaven nearby... And for anyone skeptical about their deep colored loaves, let me assure you that nothing is burnt, everything is baked to perfection. Can´t wait to be back for more!
Mark Woodward
Mark Woodward: In my view Seylou is the best bakery in the US. I mean that seriously. Everything is freshly milled whole grain and naturally leavened, which is how I like my bread. Seylou entirely disproves the perception that such breads can only be bricks. The quality is the same or better than from places that use bread flour or high extraction flour, and the bread and pastries are both more flavorful and more nutritious. I also appreciate that Seylou supports local farmers, not just by buying and using their wheat and rye, but also by turning other crops (such as buckwheat), which are important parts of organic grain crop rotation, into both breads and delicious pastries. Seylou has been inspirational to me in my own bread baking. 😀

Sur La Table: what do users think?
Susan Null
Susan Null: Thank you for the wonderful macaron class. The chef was amazing with stories to tell from all the best restaurants in the nation. The directions were clear and our group worked together well. The macarons were delicious and I have confidence that we can do it at home. Thanks!!
Amy Stein
Amy Stein: This Sur La Table is a nice size with a large selection of items. They also offer cooking classes. It is close to a parking lot so if you are going for a class parking is close and convenient. However, I cannot say that the staff was welcoming or friendly.
TD MLIBERTY
TD MLIBERTY: Scanpan is the best cookware you can purchase. The Alexandria store has extremely nice staff. I travel from Manassas Va to come to this store. Sales are great.
Theresa Milavec
Theresa Milavec: The staff member helped me purchase my items and even let me leave it there for 15 minutes while we ran another quick errand down the street. My only complaint is that it appeared that I was the only one in the store so maybe acknowledge people a little faster. I was standing in the same area, with my 2 yr old for what felt like 10 minutes, prior to the good service.

Firehook Bakery & Coffee House: what do users think?
Carolyn Bradshaw (PolythPam)
Carolyn Bradshaw (PolythPam): Love Firehook! Amazing cookies, great coffees, and lovely staff at this location. They seemed to know most of the patrons, and their orders! Located at the top of the metro station it’s super easy to get to and a good stop for visiting the Smithsonian museums.
samin shokoohi
samin shokoohi: The worst experience ever. I was insisting on Chocolate cake but they somehow convinced me to get the Strawberry vanilla cake which tasted awful. Never try it
Tweila-Rochelle Cauthen
Tweila-Rochelle Cauthen: It was a coooooold day. Nice friendly staff. The creamiest hot chocolate, and a welcoming portion. We copped a squat and warmed up. Our group purchased a few muffins, cookies and a fruit dish. Everything from start to finish was excellent. You gotta stop on through!
Mike K
Mike K: Located close to one entrance of the Judiciary Square Metro and across the street from MPD Headquarters. Typical coffee shop. Coffee and food has always been pretty good here. Staff seems to be just doing their job to get along. Customer service not the best, appearance of employees needs to be looked at.
Kerry Bresnahan
Kerry Bresnahan: Very friendly staff. Coffee is always on point and made fresh. The pastries are a favorite within my office. Power players in the senate like to meet here and talk shop. Great little coffee house.
Darius Pringle
Darius Pringle: The coffee and baked goods were great, unfortunately the place is overun with panhandlers. I had to leave, one person after another come right to your table and ask for money. Worth going, just get it to go.
Bronwyn Proffit-Higgins
Bronwyn Proffit-Higgins: The staff here is amazing. I came with two babies and did not expect the level of attention and assistance I received. The baked goods were mediocre, thus 2 stars. But the staff? 5 stars.
