Brandon Gaimari: Customer service is actually good but products are over priced junk. Bought a bedroom set and the design of the bed causes it to squeak every time you roll over. Customer service had Dr. Furniture come out twice - one time screws were missing in the bed, the next time installed slat pads (why were these not installed originally?). For the price you pay, the quality is not what it should be. Beware.

Anna Harrington: First, we had a guy helping us who like was non responsive at the Logan circle room and board. Then I ordered online for July 7 and the furniture store confirmed via email and when I called they told me July 7 was unavailable. Not good service for the price and wouldn’t buy here again.

Summer Logan: I was working with Lisa (who apparently is the store manager). Her behavior does not seem like she should be. My problem was passed off to Peter and I felt underappreciated as a client. Would not recommended the people that work here. Service is below expectations for the money you spend and management should do a better job. Seems like they do not care or engage with clients. Highly disappointed and unsatisfied.

Kathryn Adamcik: I ordered a couch from here in August and it was to be delivered at the start of December. It was delayed until the end of December and I waited for it to arrive. 1 day before it was supposed to arrive in the warehouse I got an email saying it would be delayed for 2 more months. I waited for 2 months and days before it was supposed to arrive in the warehouse after the 2 month delay I got an email saying it was delayed again. I have called customer service and they have been of no help. They have no idea when the couch will arrive or what the progress is on it. They will not give a discount for this long delay. I am stuck in a pattern where I expect the couch to arrive any day, and then it gets pushed back. This is not okay. I paid over 3k for my couch and am just getting brushed off by customer service, the managers that I have spoken with, and the associates who we spoke to in the store we shopped at. I was planning on purchasing a side table, coffee table, and lamp after the couch arrived, but I will no longer be using room and board in the future. I ask you all to be wary of purchasing from here. I paid for the couch in full and now it looks as if it will never arrive. I expect more from this company, and am highly dissapointed.

Catie Kemp: Love love love. They were a bit too pricey for me to consider when I was living in my apartment, but since buying my place last November I have become a very loyal customer. I started working with Daren to get an idea of what I wanted in my living room- just having the sounding board was so helpful. I have since outfitted my entire living room with them- probably went to the store at least ten times before making my order and never felt harassed or pushed into buying immediately. My mom bought her first house in over a decade this summer and I’ve encouraged her to buy with them too (which she has and has had an equally good experience). The biggest thing for me when I’m spending money on furniture is knowing that a) it will last and b) having confidence in my purchase. I most recently ordered a set of four dining chairs which arrived on Friday and the color just isn’t quite right in my space. I went into the store yesterday and discussed the issue with an associate (didn’t catch her name)- they are very up front about wanting to make things right if you’re not happy. She gave me a sample swatch to take home and test in my space and this morning I called customer care who was happy to facilitate an exchange for me. They are back ordered until February so they even offered me the option of keeping the current chairs (so long, of course, as they are kept in excellent condition). Even speaking to their central customer service center is a personalized experience- I don’t have the same concern with other businesses that my order or request is going to get lost in the shuffle. You can get just about anything in any color/fabric/wood stain/finish that they have and the quality is outstanding- I really wish they were in the kitchen cabinet business because their wood quality, in my opinion, is unmatched by any other business I’ve explored at their scale. Everything is made in the US (Minnesota I believe). Of course with the pandemic things (especially custom items) can take a couple or a few months to come in, but this is far from specific to R&B and well worth the wait. I’ve had three or four delivery experiences with them and each time the employees were punctual, communicative, and, most importantly, careful with my home and furniture! In summary I can’t recommend them enough. They have found a customer for life in me and I am happy to scream my unsolicited appreciation from the rooftops any time! Edited to add- forgot to mention they are dog friendly (with treats!). If this isn’t the sign of a good business I don’t know what is.

Renee Davis: Don’t get me wrong, I love this furniture store. The customer service is great. Delivery service (workers) is great. It’s the actual product, the furniture quality that deserves 1 star (none if I could) our last purchase was the Reese sectional sofa. The buttons pick you when you sit on it and the cushions are cheap. No Cush whatsoever! It’s like sitting on the floor. The entertainment center has no wire outlets in the back for cord management and it scratches easily. And even though the only rerun policy listed is for mattresses I was told (Ginny) that if it was a couple weeks past they would be able to take it back? Do not be fooled by the pretty picture. It’s not worth the price!

Stacy Lemery: Having a West Elm accessible to bus and metro lines is great for residents of the DC area. There is always lots more online, but being able to see the quality of bedding, furniture, etc in person makes a big difference. I have purchased a bed, bedding, hallway shelving, a shoe rack, curtains, candle holders, and other decor from West Elm.

Eric Overton: Staff at this store were basically useless and didn’t seem to know much about the products for sale. Fortunately, I was only there to test a floor model before buying online. Shipping was fast with only two weeks between purchase and delivery. Delivery dudes were both prompt and chill.

Geneva: I was wary of buying from this store based on some of the reviews here; however, after a year of searching for the right sectional, I found the perfect one for me at West Elm. I received good service from the store. The sales person was very clear that my sectional - which I bought in November for a nice discount - would not arrive until early January. As promised, I got calls and emails from the delivery department the second week of January and was able to schedule a date that worked for me. The two delivery guys were amazing - they had to maneuver their big truck down a narrow alley to get to the loading dock. They were professional and efficient and out of my apartment in less than 15 minutes. The sectional is exactly what I wanted and so comfortable.

Jonathan Mullen: Some nice stuff. Seems overpriced for what it is. Similar to Crate and Barrel.Joybird is just down the street and offers higher quality furniture at a better price.

Annapurna Mitra: The worst delivery experience I have encountered. I ordered a dining table and four chairs, with in-home delivery. The chairs were sent via UPS, not assembled, and with no explanation despite paying $250 for in-home delivery. I live alone, and there are 7 pages of assembly instructions requiring two people. I have no way of doing this, and am left with a living room like a furniture warehouse. On the other hand, the dining table, which was ready 10 days ago, and I had asked the customer service to wait and schedule an appointment for all items together is yet to arrive. I cannot find a way to schedule anything on the website, and on the phone I can not find a way to talk to a human being. I have received no response to my email. If I could give zero stars I would.

Mary T.: Helpful customer service, and wonderful selection. A very enjoyable shopping experience. Would come back! Only negative was one employee, possibly a manager, Lisa. The associate checking us out asked her for help, she came over obviously annoyed with him then ignored us standing directly in front of her. This male associate was kind, friendly and helpful. He went out of his way to help us. It bothered me that she would treat him this way, especially in front of customers. Maybe she was having a day or was exhausted but it was off putting.

R Adebowale: I was interested in purchasing the Austin Leather Barstool from Joybird but like everyone else, I’ve read the reviews about Joybird and was nervous about purchasing furniture from them. I called the DC showroom and asked if they had the barstool on display and they did. I eventually went to the store to view the barstools in person and had such a pleasant experience with the Dela and the rest of the associates in the store. I ended up purchasing the barstools and because I purchased them in the showroom, I got a pair of free pillows! The barstools came in exactly within the timeframe they quoted and they were perfect. Will be back to purchase more furniture!

sarah elizabeth: My partner and I had the pleasure this afternoon of working with Joybird associates Selma, Dela and Cynthia in finalizing the details of a couch we had purchased online last month. We were interested in seeing the fabric options in person and had further questions on durability and maintenance - all of our questions were answered by these attentive and professional women. I highly recommend visiting this location in person if you’re interested in Joybird products and on the fence about your purchase, it’s well worth it.

Amy Rowland: Honestly I was scared to place an order based on the reviews. However, Tyler at the DC showroom was super kind and helpful when we went to look at fabrics. He offered a fabric sample box to take home before making the final decision. Tyler was wonderful. After visiting the showroom (twice), we ordered the Holt storage sectional and were told delivery would be mid-December. We received the couch this week, which was delivered and assembled in our living room with no hassle. So far, loving the sectional - perfect size for our living room, very comfortable, and the pet friendly fabric does not show dog hair. Will be interesting to see how the couch holds up over an extended period of time but, so far so good - a seamless ordering and delivery process.

Hammad Hussain: Bought this beautiful piece of furniture at joybird Super friendly staff and great service. I live a block away, the staff even helped me carry the chair to my condo. They go above and beyond.

Vatche Hadajian: Horrible customer service. Order will 100% be delayed if they ever receive it. We ordered a sectional, notified it had shipped and were tracking the shipment. The tracking showed it was in transit for over a month well past the deadline for when it would arrive at the warehouse. I reached out to find out the status and was told they would have to track it down. A week later they said it was lost and will need to reorder a replacement piece. Another month or so and I receive a notice that the order is ready for delivery. I scheduled the delivery and unsurprisingly I only received half the couch (the replacement order was not included). Delivery people had no clue what I was talking about. I reached out to Joybird and they said they will track the missing order and get back to me. We had just gone thru this entire process of finding the missing piece. They are in over their heads with logistic and management. We ordered our couch in Nov 2021 and its currently April 2022 and still no idea when we will get it. If you try calling the customer service number no one will pick up even if its during their stated work hours. Will never order from here again!!!

Susana Ferrando: Theodore has a collection of furniture with different styles which is great since you find in one place items from different designers. Most of the furniture is made in Italy. The quality and craftsmanship is superb, the design is beautiful and the customer service is excellent. We purchased several times and Sandy helped us with the selection of fabrics, colors as well as with the design in the living room. She is a very competent designer with a great eye for space, dimensions and colors. I strongly recommend Theodore and specially Sandy.

Jacqueline Haynes: The pieces I purchased at Theodores are perfect for my room. Marion was exceptionally creative (and patient with me) on this project. i highly recommend the store and Marian specifically.

Elaine Bodlander: We had a great experience with Marian Henein at Theodores. She went out of her way to help us select and order a new sofa. She came to the house to measure, made sure everything was correct and made the experience so enjoyable. Would definately reccommend her!

Paul Baldwin: A true DC institution. Theodore’s has a rotating arsenal of one of a kind pieces that has kept me coming back for nearly two decades. I have never questioned the value, particularly when I consider the bespoke service that is attached to all of their products. I still have my first pieces purchased in 2003 for my first apartment. Jim Michaels: While the design offerings are attractive, I cannot do business with a store that has no interest in their clients. I have experienced being ignored in many of their store locations but the Washington DC store takes the prize. Not one person greeted me or offered help in the 25 minutes that I wandered the store looking for what I had received an email for that very morning. When I did finally ask someone and show a photo of the item, I received a perfunctory, “sorry” that it was not in stock. I was sorry to interrupt him from typing on his laptop and sorrier yet that I had imagined actually receiving some assistance from a salesperson. How silly of me!

ro Hu: Very poor customer service for such an expensive furniture store, I had ordered a part for pedant lamp last June, since then just heard excuses from the store manager and staff member, DWR needs to improve on customer service experience. I am against name shaming so I won’t share name of individuals !!

Lucy: Sent me wrong item. They were quick to get their item back but still have not managed after three days to even start shipping the correct item for what was supposed to be next day delivery.

Jessica Nazarova: We have been in this store a couple of times ordering furniture and taking our time deciding between things. Jonathan has been extremely patient and kind with us. My husband and I have vowed to stop shopping online after this in-store experience! :) Even our 5 year old, who typically would hate being in a furniture store, enjoys being at Design Within Reach because he gets to play with the spinning kids chair and globe lights. We also spoke with four or five other designers in their store and everybody was extremely helpful and kind when we had questions about something. The atmosphere here is great!!!

I. David Shocket: Worst customer service ever in the Georgetown store. Longtime customer of DWR and have never had a bad experience previously. We ordered 6 Bacco chairs during the March sale which were in stock. We received 4 chairs in a timely fashion; two chairs lost en route. Replacement chair was wrong color. Multiple emails to the store manager with no response. Visits to the store on several occasions with reassurances that we would have a response in 48 hours - no response. The corporate office resolved our issues in 48 hours, and we finally received our sixth chair in August (5 months later). Order online and avoid the aggravation.

Josef Assouline: Walked in, looked at the prices, walked out immediately. Design within reach? In reach of what? Bankruptcy?

hansel tan: The Herman Miller sale sign invited my wife and I to check out Eames lounge chair inside the clean and well designed store of Design Within Reach. Both of us came inside the store with a cup of coffee in hand, we politely asked if it’s ok to bring beverage indoor and the staff answered politely that it was ok. The staffs were very polite and helpful to both my wife and I, definitely a great selling point for furnitures shop. We checkout out the multiple different lounge chairs they have on display with great caution and loved all of them.

Matt Beckham: I bought a bed years ago and my movers had misplaced the bolts. I contacted this store and it was handled swiftly with the best customer service ever. They shipped me the necessary bolts to put my bed back together. Buy some furniture from this store!

Katherine Vargas: Great minimalistic, modern, playful and practical design. I bought two barstools and within a week received them at home. They are hydraulic so I can adjust them to different counter heights - thanks to Ayman and Tom for their through and professional service!

Quoc Thieu Tran: I reached out to Tim to see if he and his team could help move the same Boconcept pieces I bought a couple years ago. Tim was able to accommodate and the furniture was disassembled, wrapped, and moved to my new apartment. While assembly manuals are helpful, having someone who already knows how to disassemble/assemble these furniture pieces definitely expedited my move. Would highly recommend!

Shailesh Kumar: Purchased "Indivi" sectional after customization. It fits very well for two families and perfect for our family room. Very sturdy and contemporary style. We also purchased a customized large leather ottoman to go with it. Quite satisfied with the quality- bit on the expensive side but I guess worth it. Very thankful to Aymann from DC store who helped us for this purchase and spent a lot of time explaining and choosing the right stuff. Looking forward to few other Bo-Concept furniture in our home.

Michael Nagan: Two big thumbs-up for BoConcept, and Tim. The first thumbs-up is for the furniture itself. We purchased several Mariposa chairs and a Granada table. We have absolutely loved them both! They are probably our favorite pieces of furniture. The table is incredibly easy to expand and contract, so we actually do it all the time. (The mechanism is kind of fun to use, so I actually like doing it, rather than dreading it.) And the chairs are beautiful and comfortable. The second thumbs-up is for their service. We had a problem with one of the chairs almost five years after we purchased it. The warranty had long since ended, but I contacted Tim (who wasn’t even the owner when we purchased the chairs) to ask about it. He concluded that the problem shouldn’t have happened, so he offered to fix the chair for free. That involved replacing a substantial piece of the chair - which couldn’t have been cheap for them. And they did the repair in about 15 minutes at their warehouse while I waited and chatted with the lovely repair people. I guess you can tell that I feel pretty positive about BoConcept, but they’ve earned it!

Serene Kanaan: Very happy with my purchase. Claudia was very helpful throughout the process, and she always kept me updated with the status of my order and delivery. Delivery team were professional, friendly and efficient, and of course super clean and cautious. Thank you.

Noura Khayat: Regular customer here, and recently used their moving services for some of the bigger/trickier pieces going to our new place. Tim and Danielo did a fantastic job - efficient, clean, painless. A gem of a find for the furniture and moving industries!

Laura Lee: Seriously, the best customer service EVER!. We bought a couch and a rug here and Tim is so expeditious with his replies to anything we needed. There was a little piece of fabric that was sticking out after we got it delivered and he came right away to fix it. The delivery was also the BEST delivery experience I have ever had. SOOOOO OD professional! The inside of the moving vehicle was even cleaner than my house! Definitely NOT a 3rd party delivery service and fake white glove delivery. They wore booties when they came into the house, came within the time frame of said delivery, and gave 20-25 mins notice as promised. I would DEFINITELY recommend them to ANYONE! Superb 5 star service.

Jacqueline Dobranski: We have been enthusiastic customers of Ligne Roset DC since 2012 when we bought a set of 12 formal "So" dining chairs and the iconic pumpkin chair. The store is locally owned by a warm and welcoming community-minded family. This translates to amazing customer service! Owner David Zein has an exquisite eye for design. He patiently helped me choose the right pieces and the perfect colors for my home without sales pressure. A couple of years later I stopped in and purchased the Ploum love seat - like sitting on a cloud! The first night I had it my dog chewed a hole in the seat! David had an upholsterer there the next day and you cannot tell anything happened! Last year we replaced our casual dining table and chairs at Ligne Roset. David swore the chair fabric would not stain, and he was right! I have two young kids - soy sauce, spaghetti sauce, you name it - it all comes right out of light gray fabric with a damp cloth! I have always admired Ligne Roset, and we get compliments on the style and comfort of our furniture all the time. Thank you to David and wife Dani for an excellent shopping experience. We are customers for life! BTW their newest store at the DC Wharf is stunning!

Franklin Sahlhoff: Couple things* Prices are high but you get what you pay for in regards to the condition that said they need to do some spring cleaning??? Maybe I’m just a clean freak but they could hire some heavy lifters to clear the place out felt like half storage unit half show room. Back to my point if you’re not looking to spend cash save yourself the trip

Engel “D'Journey” Caceres: I was skeptical on where to find good quality furniture because they all have bad wood, but my dad had mentioned this place so I went and checked it out. I was amazed on the quality and the prices. Such good materials and customer service. I made this my store of choice. Btw thanks a lot for instructing me on what to get! Definetly got the best out of the best! Great job keep it up guys! Much blessings.

Tracey Wallace: Gallery floor is beautiful with a range of modern, mid century and classic French furniture and accessories. I have worked with the design team; they are welcoming and talented. Do yourselves a favor and stop by, especially while they are having a fabulous floor sample sale. So many ways to give any room a refresh at Roche Bobois!

Anne Lee: Jacqueline Coriano has an excellent sense of style and a keen eye for well put together prices to make your home warm, beautiful, and inviting. She has been instrumental in recommending pieces to make my home complete. I would highly recommend her.

S B: Worst customer service ever! Never buy something at Roche Bobois, you will regret it if there is an issue with the new stuff. I bought a floor lamp (together with a bed, night stands and a sofa), and only 2 weeks after I received it I found out the lamp has a switch issue. I keep asking them for a solution but they have not sent a technician or found a solution. They do not even respond to my emails. The funny (or sad) thing is their own employees are who gave 5 stars Google fake reviews below (see Arjun Chaudhary and Taina). Both work at the Washington DC location, call there and ask for them. I took a photo in case they delete their own reviews. It seems I am not the only one complainig, check @ Pissed Consumer. All had the same disaster follow up customer service experience. Or check @ Glassdoor for employee review.

Dondré: The customer service was great. I had a great experience here getting all my questions answered about the Furtif desk. This is a very high-end furniture store and is full of very cool pieces and sets of furniture. The showroom is also really well done.

M Nab: This is absolutely the worst Roche Bobois ever. I have bought furniture from Roche Bobois in other cities and I have never had to deal with such incompetence and carelessness. The worst costumer service I have had the bad luck to deal with at a Roche Bobois store.
