Great Wall Szechuan House: what do users think?

Haleigh Eppler: Great neighborhood spot for take out Chinese. I love the ma la menu for that mouth numbing spice. I always mean to take a picture but find myself devouring my food first. The meifun options are also well made. I haven’t had the American Chinese food here so can’t speak to that.

MrMrs K: I love this place. If possible, Great Wall, please stop limiting your DoorDash delivery radius. Door Dash generally delivers anywhere but your page routinely is either not accepting delivery orders at all OR says my house is too far.

New Dynasty: what do users think?

Molly Cooper: This place was wonderful!! I got the sesame tofu and broccoli and substitute rice for steamed veggies, plus a jasmine green tea. The food was so good! This is one of the best tofu dishes I’ve ever had, it was still crispy and the sauce was delicious. The vegetables were done perfectly, and I think my friends thoroughly enjoyed their meals too. I will come back here AS SOON as I come back to DC. I can’t wait :)!!

imtiaz ahmad: Totally enjoyed the food and the service. I would highly recommend this place if you like Chinese food and reasonable prices. You won’t be disappointed!

Doa Al: We tried many different things in the menu. Everything came out hot and fresh. We got chicken corn soup, orange chicken, sesame chicken, fried rice, three flavor lo mein, cream cheese wontons and spring rolls. Love that it was halal since there are not much halal Chinese options in the area

Nadeem Khaliq: Something’s never change! And that’s a good thing in this case. One of the most authentic Chinese halal spots around! Always clean made to order fresh Chinese. Worth the trip or a casual drop in.

Moiz Arif: Really liked the taste of the dishes we ordered in a long time. Will definitely order again.

Eddies: Solid little Chinese eatery and longtime stand-by in the Circle. They have a good mix of standard Chinese/American as well as healthy and more traditional Chinese fare. Place is clean, food is always fresh and hot, and prices are generally competitive for the area.

Faizah Zafar: Amazing food, great service, affordable prices, and fully Halal! We drove from Florida and this was the best Chinese food we ever had. I hope to come back one day.

Tiger Fork: what do users think?

Melanie Smith: Great spot for dinner- the food, drinks, and atmosphere are all on point. On weekends reservations are key! But if you’re a party of 2 you can probably easily grab a seat at the bar. All plates are designed for sharing and there were more things on the menu than we had room for! Service was great. Courses came out as they were ready and were perfectly timed. We never had too many things on our small table for 2. The restaurant was also quite busy even at 9:30 on a Saturday evening- the dining room was completely full. Highly recommend the Pork and Mango Bao, the dumplings, combo fried rice, and char siu. They also do take out and I’d say that all of these menu items would easily stand up well as takeout/delivery!

Laetitia Monnier: Good restaurant and great food. The atmosphere is really nice with the big bar and they have a nice outdoor area too. The food was good even though it was a bit expensive. Our waitress was really nice and helpful too. We had a good time there and we’ll certainly come back.

Matthew Mai: One of my favorite places in Blagden Alley. Amazing food and great, distinct drinks! All the dishes I had tended to have a slightly sweet aftertaste, which was definitely new to me in terms of Chinese/Hong Kong restaurants I’ve been to. Also love all the Baijiu drinks and am quickly trying them all.

Lisa B.: 3/1/2022. Wonderful atmosphere great food I had combo fried rice, smashed cucumber salad, pork ribs, every food item was AWESOME! (Note: 20% gratuity added on all checks regardless of size of party) Great waitstaff. Only downside parking (nothing restaurant can do about that)

Karina Perez: The food was amazing. The ambiance is very welcoming and the service is great. Though the cherry soda wasn’t the greatest, the food came really fast and we were up for seconds. I would definitely consider coming back.

Urbashi Zaman: Love love this place. The atmosphere is great at this restaurant. My go-to dish is always the combo fried rice, quite honestly one of THE best fried rices I’ve had (if you like spicy, ask for their chili oil too on the side). Drinks are also great, although pricey, but definitely strong. Get a reservation if you can! Place is busy, or go early to sit at the bar (still a great experience to eat/drink if at the bar)

Shanghai Lounge: what do users think?

Adriana Rakshana: Decent Chinese food. Got the combination lo mein and asked for it to be made spicy, which they graciously obliged. Could have been spicier but was still pretty enjoyable.

Jess W: Amazing place: Amazing food! I had a wonderful lunch at Shanghai Lounge. The food was delicious (especially the soup dumplings). The restaurant had a very charming and comfortable atmosphere that I would definitely return to. Customer service was also great! I would definitely recommend!

Fei Huang: A good authentic Chines food restaurant around the area. For my personal perspective, their food are a little salty, but they have better quality of rice among all other Chinese restaurant I had been to.

Christina Xia: Some of the best Chinese in DC! Very friendly service; they speak perfect English as well as mandarin. Hope to return soon!

Sichuan Pavilion: what do users think?

Jarron Brady: I had a really pleasant experience here. Everything I had was well cooked and had a ton of flavor. The general tso’s chicken was my favorite (fried so well). The Mongolian beef was also really flavorful as well. The service was very warm too. Definitely returning

Brandon Sousa: Loved this place! This is the high quality, reasonably priced Chinese restaurant I’ve been looking for in DC for years. I thought the food was great quality, not too Americanized (though not completely traditional either). Staff were friendly and very attentive, and wildly efficient. After we put orders in, the food was out in five minutes, maybe ten max. Also, best handmade dumplings I’ve had outside New York City.

Anthony Rufka: The food was amazing, the service was outstanding, the staff was very friendly, and they were also impressively quick to get the food out. The portions were also big and thus the value for price is really good. One of the best Chinese restaurants I’ve been to!

Audrey Jiang: The space is super comfortable. The waiters and waitresses are incredibly attentive, accommodating, and nice! The dumplings in chili sauce were absolutely amazing, and the rest of the food we ordered was too. 11/10 would recommend and 11/10 would definitely come again. Everything was amazing.

Shufang Qiu: Good food and service, although advice on food portions can be improved. Too much food - we were stuffed and had to waste some.

Gaurav Gawankar: This place is an absolute 10/10. Everything on the menu is really good, the decor is very nice, the service is fast and everyone is really nice. On top of all of that you get delicious hot tea for free. My favorite Chinese restaurant in DC

Young Chow: what do users think?

Bluroc Obama: Visited a second time with a friend of mine just to test the consistency of the service and food quality. Last time was great, this time was EVEN BETTER. The mango bubble tea tasted freshly made, the General Tso shrimp and Sesame chicken were absolutely delicious. This was NOT typical Chinese take-out. You can tell a distinct difference in the flavor, ingredients, and quality of the meat. The tempura sushi my friend ordered was great, and the service was excellent. The waitress and manager made a point in greeting us, making sure we enjoyed the food and showed appreciation for our patronage. I’m not from the DMV, but I heard they won award and known by Asian cuisine aficionados… I see why!!! A+++

Proficient Potato: King Po Tofu was good, as was the Moo Shi Vegetable. The tofu wasn’t breaded, but was well sauced. Got delivery through third party App and had no issues.

Raleigh Conerly: Food was ready very quickly, arrived piping hot (aside from sushi which was packed away from the hot food!) and the delivery man went above and beyond. All food was delicious and comprised generous portions.

Jake Harrison: Rare combination of large portions AND great food. The vegetable fried rice was amazing and fed me for three days. (it reheats great!) The service is also top notch.

Allison Graeter: An absolute gem in the Capitol Hill area! They have a great variety of vegan options which is so hard to find. My husband always orders the General Tso veggie chicken and loves it. I’ve ordered the Kung Pao tofu, Ma Po tofu, Moo shi vegetable, mango tofu, and green curry, and all were delicious. However, I recently tried the Thai Basil tofu and it is incredible and now my go to order. This place does not disappoint! Definitely worth a visit and a regular go to if you live in the area.

M C: This is the best China restaurant I have ever been in DC. So lucky to come by!

Carrie Meushaw: Some of the best takeout I’ve ever had! Honey shrimp was super good, delivery was pretty fast and everything arrived hot and fresh.

China Chilcano by José Andrés: what do users think?

Mohit Mehtaji: Great place for some good fusion food. Service is pretty quick and recommend you get a reservation as it does get pretty full during peak dinner hours. You can’t go wrong with the Pisco Sour here. The dim sum were good but nothing special and possible good for trying it one time. The noodles were great and if you get a side of the house made hot sauce it adds a bit more flavor.

Brandon Feldman: This is an incredibly unique spot! The location is great for only being a few blocks from the national mall, the ambiance was relaxing, and the food was amazingly delicious. A Peruvian/Chinese/Japanese restaurant is a unique combination and a brand new experience. The flavors were absolutely fantastic, the presentation was on point, and the service was top-notch. And to top it all off, it is very reasonably priced for such high quality.5 stars all around!

Andy Zavala: I was looking for a nice romantic date night and China Chilcano fit the spot just right. I first called them to check if they had seating/reservations for later the same day and they were super helpful and I booked a time no problem. The restaurant is in the heart of DC so parking may be difficult but the food and service is worth it. The restaurant fuses peruvian dishes with Asian mixes which was so delicious. We tried the classic ceviche and a few other dishes that I unfortunately forgot what are called at this point, but I don’t think you can really go wrong with anything here. They do have a priced option kind of like a “buffet” for around $60 and you get to try as many dishes as you want. So if you really want to explore the dishes here, I’d recommend that! You’ll at least be eating 2-3 dishes. Will definitely come back again.

MrIrali: One of the best restaurants in DC, and that says a lot. We ordered the chef’s selection, and we were not disappointed. Head chef Will Fung even came out and spoke with our table and really left an impression on us. The food is a blend of Peruvian food and Chinese/Japanese. And it is incredible. Go here.

Shachar Ashkenazi: The atmosphere is great, everything we ordered was extremely delicious - both the food and the drinks were great. The stuff were friendly and the decoration of this place is stunning! The flavors combination is unique, it is a must visit restaurant!

Kayla F: Words cannot express how delicious every step of this meal was. We tried a little bit of a few different items and each bite was full of flavor. I highly recommend ordering across the menu and sharing lots of plates.

Anca Balinisteanu: Great location but insane drive if you come from outside DC….interesting menu, but you need a dictionary 🙂 We ordered pork belly sanguche de chsncho and dim sum for starters. Very good! On to the main dishes: rice noodles and pacific wild shrimp. All delicious. And very interesting taste combinations of flavors. We’ll try to make it a regular stop!

Max Rosen: Immaculate menu of diverse food choices that will take your palate around the world from Peru, to China, to Japan. I ordered the chicken stir fry which was delish - great portion, beautiful presentation, even better taste. The shishito peppers are a must for larger parties, well seasoned and crunchy. Ambiance is inviting and the dining room is well decorated and museum-like. Hector, our waiter and bartender, couldn’t have been nicer and accommodated food allergies with care. A must try!

Sabrina R Robinson: Every dish was delicious, wish I’d gotten good pics of everything so I could share how wonderful it was but we ate it so fast! Shishito peppers 🌶 were a good appetizer. Nice snack and super fun bc every few bites you’d get a spicy one. Called the roulette pepper for that reason! The big eye tuna ceviche was delicious. The hamachi ceviche was absolutely our favorite -buttery and citrusy- I could eat it every day. Drinks were classic w a twist. The entree portions were fair ( large in my opinion, in a good way) especially after having all those appetizers. Fun bright flavors in some, and comfort food vibes in others. The restaurant was so beautiful and cozy in the daylight. Staff was super friendly and SO attentive. When it got dark out (with the lack of natural light) the neon ceiling decor made the entire place super yellow and dim- it was definitely an interesting vibe and I wish I could’ve seen the beautiful colors of my food. Can’t wait to go again !

Chen's Gourmet: what do users think?

Constantin Jessen: By far my favorite Chinese restaurant on the east coast. I especially like the General Tso as well as their crispy beef. The veggies taste fresh and are not overcooked. They use a little bit of sesame oil in their rice which gives it that little bit of extra flavor. Every time I come to the DC area I make a point to stop by here. Absolutely delicious.

Jessica Pic: Excellent vegan options. The mock chicken is exceptional. The veggie dumplings are a favorite. The best Chinese we’ve had in the city.

Deng Phua: Chen’s Gourmet is a gem in the wall. Inconspicuously hidden above a few steps and modestly colored so that it’s wall blend into its surroundings, the only thing that could possibly garner and attention visually is it’s beautiful sign out front. That being said, the food is otherworldly. Rarely do I have Americanized Chinese cuisine that tastes of high quality ingredients, and unique recipe originality, but Chen’s does exactly that. The General Tso’s is beautifully done, under a layer of thick sweet and spicy sauce with large chunks of crunchy fried white meat chicken. The Kung Pao chicken and shrimp is also marvelous, done with a take airing more on the traditional palate, but excluding all the typical medley of random vegetables that offer little to the experience. Overall, Chen’s Gourmet provides an excellent dining experience, where the food is phenomenal, the owner and chef and the rest of the employees are kind and generous, and the atmosphere, in spite of its modest exterior, boasts a little restaurant that the people of the Palisades are proud to call their own.

Bekkah Davis: I don’t care for their fried chicken or rice but the bubble tea and the old lady in front are why I still come she is nice

OTTEARREUS ZANQUILLADUS: Amazing, customer service. I had ordered before and the vegetable rice noodles was plain and the French fries was delivered cold and wet. I told the young women about my experience and she stated, “how would I like to change the order.” I told her, “ I would like more season in my vegetable rice noodles add bean sprouts and broccoli minus the egg. Please could I get hot French fries. When the order was delivered, it was amazing. The vegetable rice noodles was awesome. The French fries was hot and crispy. The overall experience was amazing and my family had a great YouTube dinner. Thank you so much. It’s hard to get superb tasting food delivered to your home. Kenny’s hit a home run. Thank you so much and my family thanks you as well.

Larry Forte: Food better than before and they got more on the menu

Sharnita Matthews: Highly recommend to order from this location. Their food is always fresh and I never have to wait for a long period of time. The staff there are all kind.

Lakshmi Kopparam: Vegetarian review: The veggie lo mein hit the spot and the hot and sour soup was tasty. Veggie dumplings were a bit disappointing. Delivery was on time and right to my apartment door.

Shareen Joshi: Ordered from here for the first time tonight. Superb! We will be ordering regularly from now on. It is awesome, even for vegetarians. Fresh vegetables, flavorful sauces, not too much oil.... Their "vegetarian" meat is quite good too (and I am not typically a fan of mock meat)!

Spices Asian Restaurant And Sushi Bar: what do users think?

K R: Spices is a great local Asian restaurant located a half block from the Cleveland Park Metro. As a vegetarian that have great tofu options including tofu fries with delicious spices and my favorite, Bali Tofu (pictured). It is seared and has a delicious peanut based sauce. Everyone who has eaten here with me and orders anything from noodles, chicken, beef to sushi has always enjoyed the dishes. Can get them spiced to your comfort. Great spot if you are in the area, fresh and quick turn around time.

Natasha Hansen: Had an amazing experience here tonight! Quiet spot with amazing service, beautiful looking sushi and great food. Enjoyed a great dinner with friends. We all had a nice spicey shrimp and mushroom soup packed with good size shrimps and tons of mushrooms. I also enjoyed the drunken noodles and my friends enjoyed the basil eggplant dish. Service was kind and helpful in navigating the menu! Get the spicy sauce on the side (made in house) Also following all COVID precautions if this is of concern :)

J.B.: Dined on the duck entree. Yum-O! Excellent! Fresh, well prepared. One of my favorites is the sea bass spring rolls. Beautiful decor. Love the open picture windows. Great local restaurant or even destination restaurant. Authentic. Reasonably priced. Very nice staff.

Peter Perkins: Love sushi in general and this is up there with my favorite. Pokémon roll was fun (and good) to try along with the Volcano. Everyone here is nice and the environment is great too. They open the door/wall to outside which is refreshing. I’d recommend it to anyone that likes sushi 😁

Amada Jauregui: I love this restaurant and make it a point to visit when I am in the city. Consistently amazing, high quality food and ambiance. Lots of veggie options and the staff is always quick to let me know of which dishes contained fish sauce.

Panda Express: what do users think?

Sassy Sauce: We drove into DC today for to visit the downtown monuments and museums. On our way out of the city we picked up dinner at Panda Express. The restaurant was clean but there was a long line/long wait. There seemed to be a lot of online orders and the staff was trying to help the line and prepare the other orders for pick up. The line didn’t move quickly which was disappointing but the food was good. The rice was fresh and the noodles were as well. All of the food was tasty and what you would expect from Panda Express.

Samara Taylor: I Place a doordash order but called at the last minute for a request. I spoke with Vee, firstly I would like to thank him because people don’t realize how something so little and small could make a persons day! He was so helpful! I appreciate the great customer service! I could literally hear all your Employees saying my name checking for my order! That’s a team right there & I love it!

Ara Koh: Good panda express location. Some customers were not wearing mask and was worrisome.

Lorna F: Friendly staff. Variety of delicious food. Clean bathrooms. Large eating area.

One Fish, Two Fish: what do users think?

JP Love (HRH Wildflower): Large variety. Love the String Beans with Shrimp...add Water Chestnuts and Spring Onions. Nice portions for price.

Sherman C: The sautéed rice noodles (chow Mei fun) was excellent. Compared to other chinese takeouts, this one was NOT overly salty or oily. Also the pork was sautéed from raw meat but not the pre-made ""cha siu" (roast pork) like most other shops (the latter is easier to make). Also the speed was fast and the people were super friendly! 5 stars.

Sarah Boyer: I have been getting food from here for the 6.5 years I have lived in DC and it has always been delicious! The portions are generous, the sushi lunch special is a great deal, and the staff has always been consistently so wonderful and kind (one time I was running late getting home and the delivery man beat me to my apartment, but then he bicycled over to where I was!). I am glad to see that they are still open, and that even from the start of COVID their policies have been great to keep everyone safe. I will seriously consider if I am still in the delivery radius the next time that I have to move

Wok and Roll: what do users think?

Hilda Kroll: A great lunch for under $15, including tax and tip, in a historical landmark site. The generous portions of Orange Chicken and Bean Curd Home Style my friend and I shared were delicious. My $1 bowl of thick Hot and Sour Soup was the best I ever had. Conveniently located close to the Gallery Place Metro and Verizon Center and a short walk to the Smithsonian American Art Museum and Portrait Gallery.

Paul LaVigne: Altogether a good Chinese restaurant but not great. The food was hit and miss, starting with crab Rangoons that really had very little crab in them and tasted more like the deep fryer oil. From there things got better with the rest of the dishes being good. They do need to work on cleanliness, however it did appear there were only two ladies working in the entire restaurant so maybe it was more of a time of day thing.

Bobbi DeAnda: Overall good! Service was great. The crab wontons were a little disappointing with the filling ratio. The sushi was amazing! LOVED the shrimp tempura! I wish the dynamite roll had a not spicy option because it was SO YUMMY but too spicy for me. The music in there makes me want to come back for karaoke - they were playing ALL the jams! The only thing I didn’t love about the vibe is they were burning incense and the smell was a bit intense for me, but other than that and the wontons, it was great!

Ronak Patel: Great place to try out!! Not only is the food really good, the customer service is great. Most places with this many menu options are not able to deliver with as much quality. However, it is not among the best of this cuisine that I have tried in the area so for that I have to give it 4 stars. Regardless, I would still recommend this place to anyone to at least try and see. They also have extensive drink options that are made well!

Renee Namakau Ombaba: I love this place so much! The food is excellent! The service is good. It’s a great go-to place in Chinatown.

Amber Eberlin: The food is amazing here. Never a disappointment. The teriyaki chicken was amazing and of course the pan fried pork dumplings. 😋

Noodles On 11: what do users think?

Jennifer C: Had lunch here and it was amazing! We ordered shrimp spring rolls, green chicken curry, and pho tai. It all had great flavor and the portions were big! We also ordered hot tea - so good! If we were residents of DC we would be here at least once a week. Yum!!

chris mason: I rarely feel compelled to leave a review, but after having lunch at Noodles on 11 on a Saturday, I did feel the need to share my experience. The service was fantastic and the food was even better. We were so pleased with our experience that we came back the same weekend and the server even recognized us. My biggest regret is that we aren’t local to DC so we can’t become regulars for this location.

Jinji Pang: Definitely a good restaurant! Had Suki twice and all tasted good! I will come more!

Kelly Tu: Perfect. Meat size is a little bit small. pho tastes mild. But overall it’s good.

Bao Tran (Bao): The place was nice and clean. The service was great. I ordered a bowl of chicken pho and Thai tea. The soup was well seasoned but the pho flavor was not quite there yet. The Thai tea was a bit light but tasted good, not too sweet. Overall, I enjoyed it.

Amber B.: The restaurant was clean and pretty busy. The Pho Ga (Chicken Pho) was a smaller portion but pretty good. We would have liked more add-ins (bean sprouts, Thai basil, lime wedges and jalapeños) but the waitress didn’t come back until we we’re almost finished eating. I would go back next time I’m in town.

Fiona Alison Kibblewhite: The food here is truly excellent! I got the korma chop and really loved it. The noodles in particular are phenomenal. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for great Uyghur food!

MacKenzie Sexton: fantastic food and efficient, friendly service! i had the mushroom salad and the korma chop with beef. They were both excellent. the beef and noodles in the korma chop were cooked and seasoned wonderfully.

Lindsey Stiles: We ordered take out from Dolan last night and it was amazing! They have gluten free options (I got the dry fried chicken and green beans) and everything was delicious!

Jarin Tasnim: Food was soooooo good. Also I got perfect flavor with korma chop. “Want to go again???” Yessssssssssssssssssss🤩. But samsa should be beef or chicken.

Iram Zafar: The menu has a lot of delicious options so it was hard To choose from. The food was tasty and the service was fast with bringing the food out! The kabobs are super cheap, but they’re delicious. My favorite things about this place is the combination of savory spices on the pulled noodles. However, I did have to wave the waiter down quite a bit! Overall, I recommend this place!

Mayflower Chinese Restaurant: what do users think?

郭珮嫻: Amazing fried noodles. Full of pork, veggies, mushrooms and egg. Totally fixed my homesick.

Patrick Maguire: The delivery guys are honest if you drop money by accident. I am not sure if I offended cook or what. Eggrolls taste the same, at least. Other places taste the same. They are usually very good. I tried calling and never bugged them even the one time they delivered food without me ordering. I havent thrown the food away if they need proof something might be wrong.

Ms. Oconnor: Came to this place after going somewhere else with a much higher rating disappointedly. Vegetable Spring/Egg Roll hits the Spot. The sauce that comes with the vegetable dumplings taste wonderful.

Peking Gourmet Inn: what do users think?

Yen Yan: Peking was the old name of Beijing before 1949. I m from Beijing, so when my friends recommended This restaurant, I definitely was excited to try. We a group of 50 people came and had dinner yesterday. The restaurant walls are filled with pictures of politics and celebrities. The seafood (scallops) soup was the best of all. I highly recommend it. The signature chicken 🍗 and lamb 🐑 chop were full of flavors. Joe Yen shrimp 🍤 are very nice, crispy and seasoned just right. I didn’t take picture of the duck, I was a bit disappointed with it. The sauce is not the authentic sauce, and the Duck was not roasted but fried, the meat is a bit too lean, however all my friends that never had Peking Duck before were happy with the duck dish. So I give a 4 stars.

Vanisa Khemanivong: Positives: Food quality, portions, pricing, kind wait staff, ambiance, interior design, cleanliness. This place is PERFECT in every sense of the word. Everything about the food and experience was magnificent. The Peking duck is out of this world. Negatives: None that I could recall. Overall taste: 10/10. Love coming here.

Albert Phan: Pros: Delicious food overall, esp. those succulent, flavorful, crispy lamb chops. Old school Chinese luxury kind of ambience. Great service (Eddie is the best) Cons: Peking duck is very mediocre, which was so disappointing because this is a very good restaurant otherwise and it’s obviously their namesake.

Sarah: Great service! The staff are very friendly and helpful; our waiter "John" was especially great. The Peking duck was overcooked and dry, but the experience was still overall good. We also ordered the green beans and the gourmet stir fried noodles, both are tasty and very filling!

Eric Hernandez: Best Peking duck anywhere. There has never been anything there that I did not like. There is a reason why the walls are covered with pictures of celebrities and the powerful who have eaten there. People in the know eat where the food is good. I liked it enough that I had my graduation dinner there 20 years ago. Now that my kids are old enough, I brought my family to DC for vacation and made a point of bringing them here so that they could know why this was one of my favorite Chinese restaurants of all time.
