Great Wall Szechuan House: what do users think?

Anthony Stewart: Generous portions and food doesn’t take too long to reach the table; as a vegetarian, I was glad to see many options. Unfortunately, they delivered one portion of my meal with meat, even though it was ordered vegetarian. I thought it tasted funny, but I didn’t want to make an issue when I was unsure. By the third bite, I was certain and even spat out the meat into my napkin to inspect the rather large chunk of it. (Needless to say, I had to excuse myself from the table for a moment.) I mentioned it to the waitress and she “handled” it. Handling it meant that they apologized and brought a new, vegetarian version out and assured me that all was in order. They still charged me instead of simply taking it off of my bill. If they’d done that, I’d go back, but since they didn’t, I won’t be going back. Pity. They chose $1.95 one time instead of absorbing the cost and having me return dozens of times over the next few years. Oh, well!

Haleigh Eppler: Great neighborhood spot for take out Chinese. I love the ma la menu for that mouth numbing spice. I always mean to take a picture but find myself devouring my food first. The meifun options are also well made. I haven’t had the American Chinese food here so can’t speak to that.

MrMrs K: I love this place. If possible, Great Wall, please stop limiting your DoorDash delivery radius. Door Dash generally delivers anywhere but your page routinely is either not accepting delivery orders at all OR says my house is too far.

timliu75 tim: We had a high hope to get some decent Szechuan dishes from this place, but the dishes come out at average levels. We ordered the Tofu Fish Fillet with Spicy Sauce, but the Tofu cubes were bland. The fish-flavored eggplants were a little greasy. I think their American-Chinese dishes might worth trying.

Nafis Imroz Khan: Would've given 0 stars if that was possible. Chicken wontons had absolutely no chicken in it. Crispy Szechuan beef was pretty much only flour. And it was the least crispy thing you can ever have. It was as soft and mushy as you can imagine. Cashew chicken didn't seem like it was chicken, god knows what it was. In one entire order I found 1 piece of soft cashew. Shrimp toast tasted like regular toasted bread.

Peter Ahn: First and last time ordering from this place. Ordered mapo tofu with pork and rice to go. After opening it at home, tofu looked too chunky when mapo tofu supposed to show cottage cheese like appearance but with silkier texture. Spat it back out after swallowing only a little bit of the first bite immediately followed by rinsing my mouth. Somehow it smells and tastes like some harsh chemical like Windex or something. DC health department needs to be involved.

Nathan Cornell: Do not trust this place. They don't respect their customers. The website clearly says they are open until 930pm. We walked from our place 25 minutes to get there. Arrived at 910pm. They pushed us out. Said they are closed. Apparently they close when they feel like it. Doesn't matter to them how far you traveled to see them. Have respect for your customers. Walmart doesn't close early because they are not busy for example. Don't travel there past 730pm I guess. They close when they want to

Sam Wiles: Very good traditional Szechuan food. The ma po tofu was amazing and the ma la wontons were the best I've had in a long time. My friend got the General Tso's chicken, which I joked was the least Chinese item on the menu. It was also great with a special Szechuan twist on it. I will have to come back and try more on the menu.

Sean Holland: Confirmed our order and kept us waiting for 30 minutes before they canceled it. Also one time we ordered and they were obviously out of chicken because they literally gave us store-bought frozen chicken nuggets in our dishes.

Özge Yoluk: Amazing food, friendly service! Tried roasted pork Chow Fun noodle dish, not spicy, soft, well cooked. A bit on the oily side if you don't like oily food.

New Dynasty: what do users think?

Molly Cooper: This place was wonderful!! I got the sesame tofu and broccoli and substitute rice for steamed veggies, plus a jasmine green tea. The food was so good! This is one of the best tofu dishes I’ve ever had, it was still crispy and the sauce was delicious. The vegetables were done perfectly, and I think my friends thoroughly enjoyed their meals too. I will come back here AS SOON as I come back to DC. I can’t wait :)!!
Response: What a lovely review! Thank you, Molly! We're happy you love New Dynasty as much as we do. We hope we'll see you again soon!

imtiaz ahmad: Totally enjoyed the food and the service. I would highly recommend this place if you like Chinese food and reasonable prices. You won’t be disappointed!
Response: Thank you for the kind review, Imtiaz! We're happy you enjoy your time at New Dynasty and like our food. We hope to see you again, soon!

Doa Al: We tried many different things in the menu. Everything came out hot and fresh. We got chicken corn soup, orange chicken, sesame chicken, fried rice, three flavor lo mein, cream cheese wontons and spring rolls. Love that it was halal since there are not much halal Chinese options in the area

Nadeem Khaliq: Something’s never change! And that’s a good thing in this case. One of the most authentic Chinese halal spots around! Always clean made to order fresh Chinese. Worth the trip or a casual drop in.
Response: Thank you for your review, Nadeem! We do try to keep things authentic, so glad you enjoy our food!

Austin Graff: If you like Chinese takeout, Dupont Circle's new Dynasty does a good job. When my family of three did a staycation at a nearby hotel, we ordered pick up via Uber Eats and it was ready within 15 minutes of ordering on a Friday evening. To feed the three of us, we ordered wonton soup, Mongolian Beef, General Tsao's Chicken and Orange Chicken. The three main dishes came with steamed rice. Each was tasty, but the winner was the General Tsao's Chicken. The Mongolian Beef was good, but it was mainly onions with little beef. Service was friendly and prices decent for an expensive city like Washington, D.C.
Response: Thank you for your review, Austin! We are happy to serve your family on your staycation. Please visit us again when you are in DC.

Moiz Arif: Really liked the taste of the dishes we ordered in a long time. Will definitely order again.
Response: Thank you for your review, Moiz! We hope to see you again soon!

Abdul Syamsuddin: Have been here a couple of times during my visit to DC. Ordered tofu with mixed vegetables, shrimp noodles, and fried rice. It was so authentic so I could miss home that much. The staff was also friendly so we could have a talk before we left. If I'm not being apart 16,426Km away, this will be my favorite place to have dinner with family. Thank you for serving such a lovely dish so I could miss this place so much.
Response: What a heartwarming review. Thank you, Abdul! We hope to see you when you are in DC again!

Eddies: Solid little Chinese eatery and longtime stand-by in the Circle. They have a good mix of standard Chinese/American as well as healthy and more traditional Chinese fare. Place is clean, food is always fresh and hot, and prices are generally competitive for the area.
Response: Thank you for the review, Eddies! We hope to see you again soon!

A: it was fine. I loved the lo mein and the timeliness, so 3 stars there, but 2 stars off for the overcooked, tough shrimp, and the undercooked broccoli. its a little pricey for a carryout spot so I was expecting a little bit better

Faizah Zafar: Amazing food, great service, affordable prices, and fully Halal! We drove from Florida and this was the best Chinese food we ever had. I hope to come back one day.
Response: Thank you for your review, Faizah! Please do visit us again whenever you are in DC!

Tiger Fork: what do users think?

Melanie Smith: Great spot for dinner- the food, drinks, and atmosphere are all on point. On weekends reservations are key! But if you’re a party of 2 you can probably easily grab a seat at the bar. All plates are designed for sharing and there were more things on the menu than we had room for! Service was great. Courses came out as they were ready and were perfectly timed. We never had too many things on our small table for 2. The restaurant was also quite busy even at 9:30 on a Saturday evening- the dining room was completely full. Highly recommend the Pork and Mango Bao, the dumplings, combo fried rice, and char siu. They also do take out and I’d say that all of these menu items would easily stand up well as takeout/delivery!

David Brenton: We headed to tiger fork for dinner on a Thursday night. Getting a reservation was harder than a COvid check (for most). They got a ton of pork on the menu, I like pork so it was solid. The buns are really tasty, pork belly was good, not overly fatty, properly fried, roast pork had great flavor, not that weird Chinese restaurant pork that you know deep down is going to hurt later. Fried rice was super fishy, lots of fish on the menu I had to pass on. Service was ok -- sorta weird, seemed kinda rushed but then no attention. If they expanded the menu I'd go back.

Laetitia Monnier: Good restaurant and great food. The atmosphere is really nice with the big bar and they have a nice outdoor area too. The food was good even though it was a bit expensive. Our waitress was really nice and helpful too. We had a good time there and we’ll certainly come back.

Matthew Mai: One of my favorite places in Blagden Alley. Amazing food and great, distinct drinks! All the dishes I had tended to have a slightly sweet aftertaste, which was definitely new to me in terms of Chinese/Hong Kong restaurants I’ve been to. Also love all the Baijiu drinks and am quickly trying them all.

Lisa B.: 3/1/2022. Wonderful atmosphere great food I had combo fried rice, smashed cucumber salad, pork ribs, every food item was AWESOME! (Note: 20% gratuity added on all checks regardless of size of party) Great waitstaff. Only downside parking (nothing restaurant can do about that)

Karina Perez: The food was amazing. The ambiance is very welcoming and the service is great. Though the cherry soda wasn’t the greatest, the food came really fast and we were up for seconds. I would definitely consider coming back.

Kennith “Conley” Coleman: Hong Kong style street food in sharing sized plates. The dumplings were amazing and the pork ribs were some of the best ribs I've ever had. The pan fried noodles were so good as well.

Urbashi Zaman: Love love this place. The atmosphere is great at this restaurant. My go-to dish is always the combo fried rice, quite honestly one of THE best fried rices I’ve had (if you like spicy, ask for their chili oil too on the side). Drinks are also great, although pricey, but definitely strong. Get a reservation if you can! Place is busy, or go early to sit at the bar (still a great experience to eat/drink if at the bar)

II LL: # I am keeping my rating but just want to add that the tables are so close to each other in the booth area and one guy sitting next to me keep cursing loud while talking in his group, errrrrrrrrrr.# Having been trying different including Michelin restaurants lately in DC area. Went there with high hopes since I love Asian food, Chinese food especially, but unfortunately left with some disappointments. For starters, the beef tendon salad came with a combination of traditional chili beef tendon-kind of Sichuan style and western salad made with the choice of reddish. Neither of each nor the combination taste good, actually too much reddish makes it really tasteless—no taste almost. Dumplings came with steamed or boiled style and it is just so cringe to me that it is not wrapped well—with openings (not good if you ever wrapped dumplings with any Chinese friends lol), in addition, the taste was not so appealing. Main course of the fried chili fish accompanied with white rice is a major turn-away for me. After the few fried fish topped above the Napa cabbage (I guess the chef might want to do it in a western salad combined with eastern rice style) it has nothing to go with rice. Raw cabbage as a salad with rice....errrrrrrr, not something that give good comfort as food in general. The Cha Siu pork is the only dish I would consider semi-good that would bring up the tasting experience better so far. As for the Hong Kong Milk tea, since it is a Hong Kong kitchen, I would expect it would be somewhat authentic Hong Kong style, but most bubble tea shop I tried would make it better. Also if the service in a Michelin restaurant is excellent, I would consider the restaurant being considerate for saving some brain cells to calculate the tip and include it in the bill, however if the service in the restaurant didn’t standout or even less from an average one, then the 20% service fee pre-included in the final bill gave a bad “taste.” Finally, who would put the mint candy in the bathroom?!?! This restaurant has some good google review ratings, I do like the cool interior design and I really wish I would have had some good comforting tasting experience there. Maybe it is the specific dishes I ordered didn’t turn out to be that good, but only one of four dishes I ordered was somewhat satisfying, I don’t think it is compelling enough for me to come back and try the other ones. Still wish the restaurant would excel...All the best!

Anieleen: After researching for the best Chinese Food in the DC Chinatown, I've ran across a review for Tiger Fork. Unfortunately, the hype didn't live up to my expectation. The reviews had glorified the famous Fried Rice and having been on a low carb diet for over a year, I thought I would splurge on my vacation and order it. The plating was great but it was glistening with oil. Left me with a free lip gloss for the rest of the night. The special fish entree for the night was slightly better. Unfortunately, it had a thick sugary sauce and oily as well. We reserved a table using Resy and had texted us an hour, then 30 minutes before our reservation time. Then received another text from the restaurant reminding us to cancel if we aren't going to make it. The received another text stating that to please remember to adhere to the 90 mins maximum time allowed for dinner. I know this restaurant must be very busy for them to keep reminding us. As you can see from the photo this was not the case for the Saturday evening we dined.

Shanghai Lounge: what do users think?

Rohit Rajendran: We came here on a whim after our original dinner choice didn't work out. We're glad that we did because everything we tried was solid. We got the pork dumplings which we quickly regretted not ordering more. The hot and sour soup also ended up being perfect for a rainy day. The Ma Po Tofu had some great flavor but could of used some more spice. We also tried the cucumber salad and scallion pancakes. The cucumber salad was a nice refreshing palate cleanser. I would probably skip the scallion pancakes next time, since it just felt like it was missing something without a sauce. Overall, good food and a place that I would definitely come back to and try some of the other dishes.

Besim Hasar: Try another place. Mongolian beef was just with regular onions. Spring rolls were like microwaved. Had better ones from the Safeway freezer aisle across the street. Iced tea was a Lipton yellow bag direct to the ice water.

Adriana Rakshana: Decent Chinese food. Got the combination lo mein and asked for it to be made spicy, which they graciously obliged. Could have been spicier but was still pretty enjoyable.

Jess W: Amazing place: Amazing food! I had a wonderful lunch at Shanghai Lounge. The food was delicious (especially the soup dumplings). The restaurant had a very charming and comfortable atmosphere that I would definitely return to. Customer service was also great! I would definitely recommend!

Fei Huang: A good authentic Chines food restaurant around the area. For my personal perspective, their food are a little salty, but they have better quality of rice among all other Chinese restaurant I had been to.

Emily Tenuta: Really great Chinese. Had the combination fried rice--the best fried rice I've ever had- and spicy beef broth (pictured). We also started with tomato egg drop, pork dumplings, and seaweed salad. Everything was delicious and well-made; the beef melts in your mouth. The place is small and bustling on Friday and Saturday nights, so I definitely recommend making a reservation.

Shannon Sanders: Every time we go, there's something new to try. Any type of dumpling is our go-to. The manager (Flo...?) was the sweetest lady. She struck good conversation and helped us with our food choice. We've added this to our list of monthly eats in D.C.!

Sophie C: Came on the day of the start of winter and had dumplings. Average Chinese food

Christina Xia: Some of the best Chinese in DC! Very friendly service; they speak perfect English as well as mandarin. Hope to return soon!

Stephanie: Came for lunch. Two entrees and an appetizer came out to $40 (taxes and tip included) kinda pricey for lunch. Food was ok nothing much to talk about. Got Kung Pao chicken, spicy pork wonton and the Singapore noodles. The server was very attentive.

Jarron Brady: I had a really pleasant experience here. Everything I had was well cooked and had a ton of flavor. The general tso’s chicken was my favorite (fried so well). The Mongolian beef was also really flavorful as well. The service was very warm too. Definitely returning

Brandon Sousa: Loved this place! This is the high quality, reasonably priced Chinese restaurant I’ve been looking for in DC for years. I thought the food was great quality, not too Americanized (though not completely traditional either). Staff were friendly and very attentive, and wildly efficient. After we put orders in, the food was out in five minutes, maybe ten max. Also, best handmade dumplings I’ve had outside New York City.

Anthony Rufka: The food was amazing, the service was outstanding, the staff was very friendly, and they were also impressively quick to get the food out. The portions were also big and thus the value for price is really good. One of the best Chinese restaurants I’ve been to!

Jeffrey Richards: Came for the Salt/Pepper Squid as an appetizer, new menu only has it as an entrée. Won’t budge and offer as an appetizer size, so disappointing. I like the old menu and not this Post Covid Sichuan Pavillion

Audrey Jiang: The space is super comfortable. The waiters and waitresses are incredibly attentive, accommodating, and nice! The dumplings in chili sauce were absolutely amazing, and the rest of the food we ordered was too. 11/10 would recommend and 11/10 would definitely come again. Everything was amazing.

Hilda Kroll: After being closed for two years, they're open again and are better than ever. My friend and I shared Orange Flavored Chicken and Bean Curd Country Style. A bit pricey, but portions were large and the food was delicious. There are lunch specials, but for takeout only. Excellent, attentive service.

Shufang Qiu: Good food and service, although advice on food portions can be improved. Too much food - we were stuffed and had to waste some.

Joe J.: This is probably the best Chinese food experience you'll get in Washington DC. It's simple yet tasty and authentic. It's also very price friendly and the dishes make me keep coming back for more. The mapo tofu main as well as the string beans and hot sauce make this place a number one Chinese restaurant in the area. Do not overlook this place, the experience in the restaurant is wonderful as well.

Leon Faircloth IV: Food and service was excellent. Ordered the General Tso Chicken and it was 🔥. Not mystery meat, certainly was real chicken. The vegies in the meal were good too, peppers added a new spin for my palette. I also loved the fact that hot green/jasmine tea was included with the meal and this restaurant didn't break the bank. Loved it and will return!

Gaurav Gawankar: This place is an absolute 10/10. Everything on the menu is really good, the decor is very nice, the service is fast and everyone is really nice. On top of all of that you get delicious hot tea for free. My favorite Chinese restaurant in DC

Wah Sing Restaurant: what do users think?

Tiffany: First things first, I would eat their food again and it's CASH ONLY. The dining area could use some SERIOUS updating, better tables, better chairs, better floors, and better lights. We ate in, so everything was super fresh and HOT and delicious! It was a party of 5 we ordered general Tso chicken, shrimp lo mien, beef+chicken+shrimp with mixed veggies, chicken wings, shrimp egg fu young, egg rolls, and hot tea. While we were trying to figure out our order just about every few orders that either walked in or called in wanted the shrimp egg fu young. So one of our party members ordered it. They have probably THE BEST shrimp egg fu young I've ever had. The gravy is great, the eggs were nice and soft and not burnt, it was very well executed. The crispiness of the general Tso(covered in the sauce) and the chicken wings were excellent! My one complaint about the food was the egg rolls, they tasted old and were SUPER oily, almost inedible. If you want mumbo sauce and this is your first visit, get it on the side. A couple of us were not fans.

Lo McKay: Surprised at how fresh the food tasted. The area could cause them to go overlooked because I didn't for years. Coworker recommended and I experienced no regrets.

Shannon A. McGhee: They are hiking the prices up. 14.95 for a shrimp fried rice, 3.50 for a freaking egg roll, 11.95 for 4 wings and French fries. Come on now ppl are struggling and they have the nerve to only accept cash. They need to be boycotted

Sharon Frank's,-dunbar: They got some really good food they always have had but the people that work that don't have much personality

Angela Brad: So for 1. they don't take cards 🤔 Most of the community uses their cards 2. The crabsticks were the worst 3 and you can't cook shrimp fried rice 😒 I think because they hold a monopoly monopoly on this area for Asian food They think they Fix you anything not cool . Stop treating us like we don't know what the food is really like

biscuit bynum: Freshest chinese food in DC from a carry-out!!!....not a wings & mumbo kinda spot though

Pam AKA Mrs Pam 2 U: Wah Sing restaurant has the most delicious Egg foo young. That's the only thing I order from them. I would recommend this item on their menu. They probably have other wonderful food on their menu I just love Egg foo young. I would stop by and give them a look.

LaDesha Morton: This place has really gone down. Been going here since childhood and most recent went attitude socks. The Egg Fu Young was horrible rubbery and not like it used to be. I don't think I will be back again and that's sad to say because the service and food use to be great.

Tarik Cranston: Pretty good take out Chinese food. They only take cash, so if you are have a hankering for Chinese food bring cash. They do have a bar.

Mrs. Coello: Food was great!!! For a first time trying it I don't regret getting the food from there. Just 1 thing remember to bring cash to pay no credit card or debit card accepted!!!! ;)

Bluroc Obama: Visited a second time with a friend of mine just to test the consistency of the service and food quality. Last time was great, this time was EVEN BETTER. The mango bubble tea tasted freshly made, the General Tso shrimp and Sesame chicken were absolutely delicious. This was NOT typical Chinese take-out. You can tell a distinct difference in the flavor, ingredients, and quality of the meat. The tempura sushi my friend ordered was great, and the service was excellent. The waitress and manager made a point in greeting us, making sure we enjoyed the food and showed appreciation for our patronage. I’m not from the DMV, but I heard they won award and known by Asian cuisine aficionados… I see why!!! A+++

Proficient Potato: King Po Tofu was good, as was the Moo Shi Vegetable. The tofu wasn’t breaded, but was well sauced. Got delivery through third party App and had no issues.

Kendra Mack: We looked at several Chinese food places to order from, and this one had everything we were looking for. We ordered the Sesame Chicken, Egg Foo Young, Shrimp Egg Rolls, and Egg Drop Soup. Everything was very tasty, except the egg drop soup. The sesame chicken was really yummy and the shrimp egg rolls were delicious as well. The egg drop soup tasted weird to all of us, so we didn't eat it. the portions were good, three of us split one order of the sesame chicken which comes with white rice. Overall, it was tasty and hit the spot, we would order there again.

Sarita Hall: I ordered dumplings fried and steam and believe it or not, the bread was so thick you would have thought it was a pancake bad idea maybe , Items on the menu might be better

Raleigh Conerly: Food was ready very quickly, arrived piping hot (aside from sushi which was packed away from the hot food!) and the delivery man went above and beyond. All food was delicious and comprised generous portions.

Jake Harrison: Rare combination of large portions AND great food. The vegetable fried rice was amazing and fed me for three days. (it reheats great!) The service is also top notch.

Allison Graeter: An absolute gem in the Capitol Hill area! They have a great variety of vegan options which is so hard to find. My husband always orders the General Tso veggie chicken and loves it. I’ve ordered the Kung Pao tofu, Ma Po tofu, Moo shi vegetable, mango tofu, and green curry, and all were delicious. However, I recently tried the Thai Basil tofu and it is incredible and now my go to order. This place does not disappoint! Definitely worth a visit and a regular go to if you live in the area.

Jennifer Calhoun: My dish had a large piece of unidentifiable broken plastic in it, which I didn’t notice until I had eaten half of it. I also felt the pancakes that went along with it were essentially store bought tortillas. Will not be ordering from them again.

M C: This is the best China restaurant I have ever been in DC. So lucky to come by!

Carrie Meushaw: Some of the best takeout I’ve ever had! Honey shrimp was super good, delivery was pretty fast and everything arrived hot and fresh.

China Chilcano by José Andrés: what do users think?

Mohit Mehtaji: Great place for some good fusion food. Service is pretty quick and recommend you get a reservation as it does get pretty full during peak dinner hours. You can’t go wrong with the Pisco Sour here. The dim sum were good but nothing special and possible good for trying it one time. The noodles were great and if you get a side of the house made hot sauce it adds a bit more flavor.

Brandon Feldman: This is an incredibly unique spot! The location is great for only being a few blocks from the national mall, the ambiance was relaxing, and the food was amazingly delicious. A Peruvian/Chinese/Japanese restaurant is a unique combination and a brand new experience. The flavors were absolutely fantastic, the presentation was on point, and the service was top-notch. And to top it all off, it is very reasonably priced for such high quality.5 stars all around!

Andy Zavala: I was looking for a nice romantic date night and China Chilcano fit the spot just right. I first called them to check if they had seating/reservations for later the same day and they were super helpful and I booked a time no problem. The restaurant is in the heart of DC so parking may be difficult but the food and service is worth it. The restaurant fuses peruvian dishes with Asian mixes which was so delicious. We tried the classic ceviche and a few other dishes that I unfortunately forgot what are called at this point, but I don’t think you can really go wrong with anything here. They do have a priced option kind of like a “buffet” for around $60 and you get to try as many dishes as you want. So if you really want to explore the dishes here, I’d recommend that! You’ll at least be eating 2-3 dishes. Will definitely come back again.

MrIrali: One of the best restaurants in DC, and that says a lot. We ordered the chef’s selection, and we were not disappointed. Head chef Will Fung even came out and spoke with our table and really left an impression on us. The food is a blend of Peruvian food and Chinese/Japanese. And it is incredible. Go here.

Shachar Ashkenazi: The atmosphere is great, everything we ordered was extremely delicious - both the food and the drinks were great. The stuff were friendly and the decoration of this place is stunning! The flavors combination is unique, it is a must visit restaurant!

Kayla F: Words cannot express how delicious every step of this meal was. We tried a little bit of a few different items and each bite was full of flavor. I highly recommend ordering across the menu and sharing lots of plates.

Anca Balinisteanu: Great location but insane drive if you come from outside DC….interesting menu, but you need a dictionary 🙂 We ordered pork belly sanguche de chsncho and dim sum for starters. Very good! On to the main dishes: rice noodles and pacific wild shrimp. All delicious. And very interesting taste combinations of flavors. We’ll try to make it a regular stop!

Max Rosen: Immaculate menu of diverse food choices that will take your palate around the world from Peru, to China, to Japan. I ordered the chicken stir fry which was delish - great portion, beautiful presentation, even better taste. The shishito peppers are a must for larger parties, well seasoned and crunchy. Ambiance is inviting and the dining room is well decorated and museum-like. Hector, our waiter and bartender, couldn’t have been nicer and accommodated food allergies with care. A must try!

Sabrina R Robinson: Every dish was delicious, wish I’d gotten good pics of everything so I could share how wonderful it was but we ate it so fast! Shishito peppers 🌶 were a good appetizer. Nice snack and super fun bc every few bites you’d get a spicy one. Called the roulette pepper for that reason! The big eye tuna ceviche was delicious. The hamachi ceviche was absolutely our favorite -buttery and citrusy- I could eat it every day. Drinks were classic w a twist. The entree portions were fair ( large in my opinion, in a good way) especially after having all those appetizers. Fun bright flavors in some, and comfort food vibes in others. The restaurant was so beautiful and cozy in the daylight. Staff was super friendly and SO attentive. When it got dark out (with the lack of natural light) the neon ceiling decor made the entire place super yellow and dim- it was definitely an interesting vibe and I wish I could’ve seen the beautiful colors of my food. Can’t wait to go again !

Adriana Rakshana: Excellent quality and unique flavors. Definitely try out the suspiro limeña for dessert and the ceviche pulpo. The vibe of the place is nice too; great for a date! We didn't need a reservation for lunch on a Saturday just fyi!

Chen's Gourmet: what do users think?

K. Margot Mercer: We visited family in DC for 10 days and on day 3 we ordered a huge vegetarian meal from Chen's. In the following days, our meat-eating parents were requesting another order so we had another huge feast. What a delight and a treat this place is - some of the best fake meat I've ever had (and being veg for 30 years, that is saying a lot). It's fresh, it's vibrant, it's scrumptious. I can't say enough good things about the food here, you feel like royalty eating a plate of this food. After both meals we took a pen to the menu to put a heart next to the items we loved most and, well, everything we ordered got a heart both times. Phenomenal. Go ahead and get a double order of the Vegetarian Crispy Beef, it was everyone's favourite. I can't believe I didn't snap a photo, too excited to dig in I guess. Best food of our holiday. Thanks, Chen's! Keep up the great work.

Constantin Jessen: By far my favorite Chinese restaurant on the east coast. I especially like the General Tso as well as their crispy beef. The veggies taste fresh and are not overcooked. They use a little bit of sesame oil in their rice which gives it that little bit of extra flavor. Every time I come to the DC area I make a point to stop by here. Absolutely delicious.

Jessica Pic: Excellent vegan options. The mock chicken is exceptional. The veggie dumplings are a favorite. The best Chinese we’ve had in the city.

Juan Guido: I called at 11:30am got there at 12:30pm and my order wasn’t ready. The owner said he wasn’t take phone orders until i got their.

Faisal Khan: Gourmet is right. Chen's offers some delicious and fair priced food with a wealthy sized portions. It's not a large place and doesn't have much space to eat, but I'd you do sit and eat, you can browse down at the MacArthur Blv atmospheres and people watch. To end it off, the chefs are friendly and the food is fantastic. Everything just tastes very authentic and sits just right. I'd recommend getting their Sesame Chicken, as it's easily their best dish!

Simone Dedrick: Places order online. Attempted to add. Person indicated they did not understand. Did not even fix original order. Then called and said order ready and implied it was our fault. Have all we always loved Chen's but never again. Looking now for good Chinese. Open to suggestions....

Dylan Worsoff: Food was delicious but i found this piece of metal in my meal. Super weird, now im kind of worried.

Jimmy Cruz: The food was ok, the problem is the time it takes to make the food, my order took hour and a half to have it made, I was there for lunch time, even though I called 35 minutes before noon (lunchtime) by the time I received the food my lunchtime was already over, the one thing I notice it is a one man does it all, he does not have help, he cooks, he answer the phone, he package the food, he charges, he takes orders, all at the same time and people line up and he does not takes some orders due to the time, and while he is cooking, so if you are in a hurry I do not recomend this place unless you want to wait a long time, this happens at lunchtime, I have no idea how it is the rest of the day

Deng Phua: Chen’s Gourmet is a gem in the wall. Inconspicuously hidden above a few steps and modestly colored so that it’s wall blend into its surroundings, the only thing that could possibly garner and attention visually is it’s beautiful sign out front. That being said, the food is otherworldly. Rarely do I have Americanized Chinese cuisine that tastes of high quality ingredients, and unique recipe originality, but Chen’s does exactly that. The General Tso’s is beautifully done, under a layer of thick sweet and spicy sauce with large chunks of crunchy fried white meat chicken. The Kung Pao chicken and shrimp is also marvelous, done with a take airing more on the traditional palate, but excluding all the typical medley of random vegetables that offer little to the experience. Overall, Chen’s Gourmet provides an excellent dining experience, where the food is phenomenal, the owner and chef and the rest of the employees are kind and generous, and the atmosphere, in spite of its modest exterior, boasts a little restaurant that the people of the Palisades are proud to call their own.

Gabe: I don’t understand the hype…it’s average at best and overpriced as hell for what it is. Got the shrimp and veggie lo mein and both didn’t have much flavor. Meh! Not getting again.

Kenny's Carry Out: what do users think?

Selena Spencer-Lipscomb: Didn't wear gloves when handling food or getting ice and kitchen area is cluttered, the waiting area floors are filthy and the outside is littered. I don't trust that they have the community's best interests in mind or respect the customers they serve.

leo v: Cheapest Chinese lunch special around plus they have brown rice most days. Good portions plus a shrimp egg roll. I haven't tried their Americaj food but I get the Chinese for lunch often. Best lunch in the area for under $10.

Bekkah Davis: I don’t care for their fried chicken or rice but the bubble tea and the old lady in front are why I still come she is nice

Amaria Collins: I didn’t even receive my food yet and so far this is the WORST customer service I’ve ever had . I politely told her my order while getting screamed that the whole time I had to repeat my order five times she got it incorrect. It’s been about 40 minutes since I put my order in and I called to see how long it would be and she yelled “ NOT READY “ and then hung up

Timothy Mercer: If you want good fresh food and fast friendly service then Kenny's is the place to get your needs met. No matter what I have a taste for, the food is amazing. If you haven't been here, I encourage you to stop by.

Wilson: I'm not one to write good reviews but these guys are worth it. Every weekend I would visit my family near their restaurant and I would always order takeout from this establishment. The workers aren't all fluent in English but I admire their effort to communicate to English speakers. Their quick with the orders too, I never had to wait over 15 minutes for my food, and I was never dissatisfied with my order. Honestly one of if not the best takeout in the area.

OTTEARREUS ZANQUILLADUS: Amazing, customer service. I had ordered before and the vegetable rice noodles was plain and the French fries was delivered cold and wet. I told the young women about my experience and she stated, “how would I like to change the order.” I told her, “ I would like more season in my vegetable rice noodles add bean sprouts and broccoli minus the egg. Please could I get hot French fries. When the order was delivered, it was amazing. The vegetable rice noodles was awesome. The French fries was hot and crispy. The overall experience was amazing and my family had a great YouTube dinner. Thank you so much. It’s hard to get superb tasting food delivered to your home. Kenny’s hit a home run. Thank you so much and my family thanks you as well.

Larry Forte: Food better than before and they got more on the menu

Sharnita Matthews: Highly recommend to order from this location. Their food is always fresh and I never have to wait for a long period of time. The staff there are all kind.

Jae Jae: The food is very good. However, check your bank transactions. Kenny's tip themselves. My card was charged an additional $1.25.

Grand Hunan Restaurant: what do users think?

Octavia Harris: I had brought shrimp fried rice , it usually would had bean sprouts, onions but I had noticed no bean sprouts. So I called and the staff, cook was very disrespectful and said no more and something in her language..So I said to her to slow down ,English and asked , why no bean sprouts and she still being rude ..no more.. no more..Well, I guess my complaint is she spoke clear English when she took my money and being rude for wanting what I typically purchase from this carry out was just too much for her to handled. Good Customer service was just too much to ask for.these days.lol

Liz Kulla: We have been going to Grand Hunan since we got married and moved to the area in 1994! We love the food and the delivery driver is always friendly! I hope the stay there for a long time!

Marc Wolfe: You need to know your appreciation of Chinese food. Some dishes rate 10/10. Some don't. Find the dishes you like, they will deliver. My favorites are Singapore chow mai fun, pork fried rice, moo shu , with sides of shrimp rolls, hot and sour soup. Can't go wrong

Lakshmi Kopparam: Vegetarian review: The veggie lo mein hit the spot and the hot and sour soup was tasty. Veggie dumplings were a bit disappointing. Delivery was on time and right to my apartment door.

Shamfa1: I ordered combination lo mein and asked that vegetables like broccoli be added. They delivered the dish with ALL vegetables and zero meat. I paid for a meat dish! Then the dumplings had hair in the dough. I asked for a refund and they said no. Plus, they're sending their driver back to pick up the vegetable lo mein as if I was lying about their mistake. Shame on this restaurant. Too bad that their food is actually tasty. However, it's clear that their service is poor. I spent $33 on this place tonight and they treated me like a $2 customer.

Ashley Jackson: Don't order from here. It's terrible. First off, delivery guy did not read instructions left on the online order and caused some confusion. But, besides that, the food is pretty horrible. You would think they could get fried rice right, but it's pretty bland. The Szechuan Chicken is incredibly bad and has no flavor. Considering I asked for extra spicy, there was no spice to it at all. It was also rather soggy and fatty. The Hot and Sour soup wasn't even hot or sour, let alone spicy. The only thing they got right was the egg rolls and the steamed rice, which I didn't even ask for considering I ordered just fried rice.

Aditya Sarkar: This is our go-to place for Chinese takeout! The food isn't very fancy of course, you could get something possibly more authentic at a dine-in restaurant. However, everything we order is always delicious. In particular, their Kung Pao chicken is very tasty. They also are willing to make food spicier if you request it. Portions are generous for the prices, and we normally have enough food leftover for a second full meal.

Sacha Potter: I've ordered from Grand Hunan several times in the past and always thought it was pretty decent for the price. I recently placed an order for Szechuan beef and fried rice. Both dishes were flavorless (especially surprising since I requested the Szechuan beef be extra spicy) and the quality of the beef was some of the worst I've encountered at a Chinese restaurant. On a positive note, the food was ready on time and the staff was friendly. However, the food was unsatisfactory and I really don't think I'll be ordering again any time soon.

Shareen Joshi: Ordered from here for the first time tonight. Superb! We will be ordering regularly from now on. It is awesome, even for vegetarians. Fresh vegetables, flavorful sauces, not too much oil.... Their "vegetarian" meat is quite good too (and I am not typically a fan of mock meat)!

Mike Johnston: I was excited to find a good Chinese place in the Arlington area that is delicious and quick! The food that I love the most is Beef and Broccoli and Chicken Pad Thai. My friends and I also tried the Sesame Chicken which as pretty good and a little different than what I've had in the past. I have tried this restaurant in the past and the food was ready when I picked it up- unlike some other Chinese restaurants in the area!

Golden Buffet & Grill: what do users think?

J Leung: Very good buffet food for the price you pay. Fresh, flavorful, replenished constantly, and a very wide array. The service was decent. No rudeness at all and quite efficient. Even the restroom was clean. Don’t expect any gourmet food! Worth trying!!

TEENS: Went with my son at first i was like ok i will come back well went back again today and power was out so i was about to walk out as a lady starts saying we have lots of food just cant see the food it was dark of course anyway so i decided to go for it went to make a plate they only had two items and they kept pushing for more people to come in the soup was cold they couldnt put out the food at all not sure why they didnt close the doors and take care of people Who were in there first so they could get their food but no the lady kept pushing for people to come in so they could make money they didn’t have any food available and they still charged us fill price! that pic was from the day i went with my son i couldnt take any today i only got to eat chicken on a stick some lo mein and cold sushi that was pre made and tried some egg soup that was cold! and thats it! Not going back! Also it says 12.95 for lunch lady charged me Almost 20 dollars didnt order a drink i only had water🤣 Luckily My Husband couldnt Make it or he would of been really upset! So make sure you look at your receipt and speak up i did!

Delaney Lamm: First of all this place was tragic. If I could rate it less I would. I came from a long day and I was ready to eat, I walked in and it smelled horrible. We were served drinks and they got the ice out of a bucket. A dirty disgusting bucket. The lemonade looked like dirty soap water and the food selection was. Not very good. There was CHICKEN FEET yes you heard me right CHICKEN FEET and raw shrimp and the noodles were awful, the bathroom was not very clean and it smelled. The pizza was cold and cut very weird there was hard pieces in rice and it was gross. Instead of packets of ketchup there was instead a dirty bucket full of it with a spoon absolutely disgusting. The food probably gave food poisoning and it was definitely not fresh not meeting my expectations at all and was a major fail, absolutely disgusting do not bring your family here if you love them.

Joco119: If I could give a 0, I would! We have eaten at a LOT of Chinese restaurants in multiple states. This was absolutely the worst we have ever had. The food was awful! Nothing tasted like it what it was supposed to be. Even the garlic bread had absorbed odors and didn't taste good. I'm still trying to figure out why there were 2 different types of chicken feet on the dessert bar! They were on the food buffet too. There was no service. The server gave us our drinks when we got there and never came back.

Brian J: Surprisingly good. Good selection. Attentive service. Who would know with the restaurant "tucked away" to the side of T J Maxx. Price adjusted after The Pandemic, but reasonably priced. Have to pay ahead. Security camera above buffet prices. Be sure to tip the waitresses..... DON'T FORGET THE HIBACHI AND SUCHI PREPARERS.

Neyda Barahona: It was my first time here and I had very high expectations for this place, the food was cold plus the sushi tasted old. The bathroom was filthy and DIRTYY!!! Instantly regretted it when i stepped in, there was paper towels scattered all over floor on top of that when I was washing my hands I noticed there was no door attached! there was a whole bunch of guys starting into the bathroom, never have felt so uncomfortable in a restaurant. When I was leaving I was still eating my ice cream, lady ran out of the building just to tell me I had to pay for it. For the price you pay and the quality you get, I'd recommend going elsewhere. I will definitely not come back.

Brooke Berman: If you like the smell of fish come to this place! The smell when you walk in is just very unpleasant! There were people throwing up left to right. The food was dry, the ice was coming out of a bucket, the jello was stiff. The plates were filthy, the ketchup was coming out of a bucket, the bathroom smelled horrible. There was chicken feet with toenails. Bubble tea was overpriced and it could be better. I would not recommend to come here, thank you.

Mimi Brown: Super unhappy with this place! The food was not hot! It was dry! And the biggest issue was how unclean it was. The sushi area and the are where you pick items to be made was DIRTY!! Then I went in the bathroom!! The bathroom was DIRTY DIRTY!! There was blood, nasty towels, and toilet paper all over the floor. Super unhappy because that $45 I can never get back!! Never again!

Natalia D: if i could give this place a zero i would. FIRST OFF we walked in and the stench of that place was very disgusting i couldn’t breathe. SECOND OFF i looked at the food and everything looked disgusting. Then the lady came over to fill our glasses with ice and drinks, she took the ice out of buckets, dirty buckets. They also kept ketchup in dirt buckets that you had to scoop out with a spoon! Then we were going to get food and the jello looked and felt like rubber and plastic. There were RAW CHICKEN FEET WITH TOE NAILS. i was hungry after i left because i really didn't want to eat there everything looked atrocious. one of the kids on my bus later threw up in the bathroom because the food was disgusting. if i got to chose where to eat i would never have picked this place.

Nelson Avila: Everything is just cold and plain. The food really tastes frozen and not a lot of variety. I've been here before and it used to be better. The place gets packed and it's hard to go through the crowd. For the price you pay and the quality you get, I'd recommend going elsewhere. I will definitely not go here anytime soon.

Spices Asian Restaurant And Sushi Bar: what do users think?

K R: Spices is a great local Asian restaurant located a half block from the Cleveland Park Metro. As a vegetarian that have great tofu options including tofu fries with delicious spices and my favorite, Bali Tofu (pictured). It is seared and has a delicious peanut based sauce. Everyone who has eaten here with me and orders anything from noodles, chicken, beef to sushi has always enjoyed the dishes. Can get them spiced to your comfort. Great spot if you are in the area, fresh and quick turn around time.

Julie Oh: So-so at best. The food is really salty and sweet, over seasoned and as a Korean I can surely say this is not authentic Korean or Japanese food. My server didn't even notice we didn't have a QR scan code until we had to ask for a menu. The sushi (cold food) came after my hot plates were already finished (why exactly..?). I lived in the area for about 4 years now and I recently made my first visit; probably will not return because the prices are high and the food is mediocre. Btw what you are seeing in the pic is $20+.

Anna Fung: Every item we ordered was absolutely delicious. The presentation was fantastic as well. Sashimi was great, and my udon was perfect. I'll definitely come back.

Ciara Boyd: I ordered the kimchi dumplings, tofu fries, and maki. The tofu fries are great. Definitely will go back for them. The dumplings were tasty too. The sushi (veggie) is good but wasn't fresh. I did go right before they close, so that could have been it. Would NOT eat their sushi again but will go back for other meals.

Natasha Hansen: Had an amazing experience here tonight! Quiet spot with amazing service, beautiful looking sushi and great food. Enjoyed a great dinner with friends. We all had a nice spicey shrimp and mushroom soup packed with good size shrimps and tons of mushrooms. I also enjoyed the drunken noodles and my friends enjoyed the basil eggplant dish. Service was kind and helpful in navigating the menu! Get the spicy sauce on the side (made in house) Also following all COVID precautions if this is of concern :)

J.B.: Dined on the duck entree. Yum-O! Excellent! Fresh, well prepared. One of my favorites is the sea bass spring rolls. Beautiful decor. Love the open picture windows. Great local restaurant or even destination restaurant. Authentic. Reasonably priced. Very nice staff.

Peter Perkins: Love sushi in general and this is up there with my favorite. Pokémon roll was fun (and good) to try along with the Volcano. Everyone here is nice and the environment is great too. They open the door/wall to outside which is refreshing. I’d recommend it to anyone that likes sushi 😁

Terry B.: The good here is great! They have a wide selection of Asian food - so far, I've had Thai, Vietnamese, and Japanese dishes. My favorite combo is the shrimp Thai fried rice and chicken sate skewers. I usually have to take home half of the Thai fried rice.

Amada Jauregui: I love this restaurant and make it a point to visit when I am in the city. Consistently amazing, high quality food and ambiance. Lots of veggie options and the staff is always quick to let me know of which dishes contained fish sauce.

Bill Silcott: Okay food. Sushi temp was a bit questionable. Service is awkward. Prices are way too high for the quality, or lack thereof. This was my second visit. I walked out before ever even being seated the first time I visited. I literally stood in front of the sushi line, asked if I should seat myself, and was completely ignored. Every employee on the floor that evening walked past me but nobody would acknowledge me, so I simply walked out. The fact that I returned a second time is a miracle, but I honestly regret it.

Panda Express: what do users think?

Tracie: This location is the closest to my house and so I am always rooting for it but unfortunately lately the service hasn’t been great. So although the location closes at 930pm they stop cooking food way before so that by 830pm there is nothing left. I mean I get it, when it’s close to closing some things are running out and not worth cooking a whole new batch but it’s like they refuse to give you good service because they are “over it” and ready to go home…they get paid their full salary until 930pm so the customer expect good service till the second they close, and that includes having almost everything on the menu. When I visited today there was a long line and they had like 4 items in the menu….. 😖 things didn’t look fresh 😒 I’ll give it another shot and I hope they can terms themselves.

Sassy Sauce: We drove into DC today for to visit the downtown monuments and museums. On our way out of the city we picked up dinner at Panda Express. The restaurant was clean but there was a long line/long wait. There seemed to be a lot of online orders and the staff was trying to help the line and prepare the other orders for pick up. The line didn’t move quickly which was disappointing but the food was good. The rice was fresh and the noodles were as well. All of the food was tasty and what you would expect from Panda Express.

D Hampton: This low review is for the payment policy I experienced today. There was a sign on the door cash only, then walked in and sign on counter said limited change or have exact change. I was asked was I okay with the sign, I said yes because what I ordered was $9.60 before tax. I did not do the tax calculation in my head but assumed it would be less than $1. I ordered and I did not have the exact amount. My bill was $10.56 and I had a $10 and $20. I got the impression that they thought I was going to give a $9 tip or pay $20 for a $9 meal. I asked for the $10 back and then all of sudden change was available in the second register. It's understandable that there is a change shortage, however I really feel the business should have absorbed that .56 cents. If your credit card machine is not working and you don't have change but you still want to be open for business make adjustment and round the dollar amount, I've been to other businesses that have done this when coins and cash are low.

Samara Taylor: I Place a doordash order but called at the last minute for a request. I spoke with Vee, firstly I would like to thank him because people don’t realize how something so little and small could make a persons day! He was so helpful! I appreciate the great customer service! I could literally hear all your Employees saying my name checking for my order! That’s a team right there & I love it!

Marv- O: Walked in to get what I normally do. Was greeted by extremely rude young girl. She saw me coming to make an order and left the area to go talk to a co worker. The co worker informed her she had a customer. She looked back at me and laughed. At this point I stormed out and left. I never disrespected her. It was no reason to treat me that way. They also skimp on portions depending on what you look like here. I use to come here everyday. I won't be going ever again.....foods ok though. Get it if you don't care about being disrespected.

Omar Guzman (ReconGhost17): I would not recommend going to this location. I spoke to the person at the register about my order missing a third option. I got charged full price for two plates that were missing a third option. I asked the person who was preparing my food a question about getting a third option and she did not answer it. I will not be coming back to this location ever again because it seems like they do not seem to care much about customer service at all.

Ara Koh: Good panda express location. Some customers were not wearing mask and was worrisome.

Morgan Ormsby: Soda fountain blew soda all over my wife. Manager was super rude about the whole thing.

Lorna F: Friendly staff. Variety of delicious food. Clean bathrooms. Large eating area.

Tyrese Curtis: Terrible Customer service when I went in I really didn’t want Panda Express but a friend was treating me out and I was highly dissatisfied with how I was treat when I asked for extra of an item. Just a few more of the item like 1 or 2 the staff member preceded to tell me it’s going to be a extra charge and do I want it on top or separate I would say if you like Panda Express and don’t like bad customer service I would recommend going somewhere else but I would not be to this location

One Fish, Two Fish: what do users think?

Michael Purscell: My Singapore noodles were perhaps the saltiest thing I’ve ever (partially) eaten. The beef in it just tasted like a chunk of salt. The amount of MSG in it has made me physically ill. The pork dumplings were good. Serving sizes were very adequate; just wish I actually wanted to eat it.

Bettina Wallner: I am beyond disappointed. This place used to be so good and I just now ordered some sushi and upon opening the bag it just smelled like the fish has been sitting on the counter for the past 3 days. Called the place and they said they could send me something else instead. No thank you - I hope they are changing vendors and update their menu

M Thompson: I used to get drunken noodles from them all the time but Quality keeps getting worse and worse every time I visit My last time the noodles were soft and mushy like they were left over i Had to bring him back so they could make me some more which would be the last time for me I have to find another drunken noodle place

JP Love (HRH Wildflower): Large variety. Love the String Beans with Shrimp...add Water Chestnuts and Spring Onions. Nice portions for price.

m tanner: Ordered the Kung Pao chicken and shrimp. The food is not bad, seems fresh enough. But there is no chili pepper in the dish whatsoever, so there is absolutely no heat. Plus the single vegetable in the dish zucchini, nothing else. I know a dozen places in Tulsa that do Kung Pao better than this.

Victoria Hardin: REVOLTING. Waste of money. Warmed over leftovers. I should've taken a picture because the "food" looked old. I tried to eat it, but it should've gone right in the garbage. I ordered the Combination Thai Basil Fried Rice. First off, the menu didn't mention eggs as one of the ingredients, but there it was - in huge, inedible clumps. Some of the smallest cuts of chicken and beef I've seen (and few of them). A FEW shrimps. TWO pieces of red bell pepper. Maybe some onions? A few twigs of (maybe) fresh basil. The rice was definitely reheated (and clumpy) - nothing at all fresh about the rice. Smelled peppery (basil?) but tasted of nothing except salt and a bit of the FOUR thinly sliced jalapeno. Oh, I was charged almost $3 for a 0.99 Arizona Green Tea. Dishonest as well....People are really taking advantage of the pandemic and supply chain crisis. While waiting for my "food", I sat next to a table set up for dining but was dirty. NEVER AGAIN!

Skye Eason: This place must have changed ownership sometime in the summer of 2021. A real loss; used to be a solid Chinese place (not amazing but not awful) but now everything tastes like it came out of the freezer. Everything changed for the worse, from the dumplings to the carry out containers. I used to get carry out 1-2 times a month but won't be going back. Happy to change my review if they go back to the old recipes.

Sherman C: The sautéed rice noodles (chow Mei fun) was excellent. Compared to other chinese takeouts, this one was NOT overly salty or oily. Also the pork was sautéed from raw meat but not the pre-made ""cha siu" (roast pork) like most other shops (the latter is easier to make). Also the speed was fast and the people were super friendly! 5 stars.

Caleb Lilley: Got some late take out and loved it! Generals Tso's, Pad Thai and delicious Crab Rangoon!

Sarah Boyer: I have been getting food from here for the 6.5 years I have lived in DC and it has always been delicious! The portions are generous, the sushi lunch special is a great deal, and the staff has always been consistently so wonderful and kind (one time I was running late getting home and the delivery man beat me to my apartment, but then he bicycled over to where I was!). I am glad to see that they are still open, and that even from the start of COVID their policies have been great to keep everyone safe. I will seriously consider if I am still in the delivery radius the next time that I have to move

Wok and Roll: what do users think?

Hilda Kroll: A great lunch for under $15, including tax and tip, in a historical landmark site. The generous portions of Orange Chicken and Bean Curd Home Style my friend and I shared were delicious. My $1 bowl of thick Hot and Sour Soup was the best I ever had. Conveniently located close to the Gallery Place Metro and Verizon Center and a short walk to the Smithsonian American Art Museum and Portrait Gallery.

Paul LaVigne: Altogether a good Chinese restaurant but not great. The food was hit and miss, starting with crab Rangoons that really had very little crab in them and tasted more like the deep fryer oil. From there things got better with the rest of the dishes being good. They do need to work on cleanliness, however it did appear there were only two ladies working in the entire restaurant so maybe it was more of a time of day thing.

Bobbi DeAnda: Overall good! Service was great. The crab wontons were a little disappointing with the filling ratio. The sushi was amazing! LOVED the shrimp tempura! I wish the dynamite roll had a not spicy option because it was SO YUMMY but too spicy for me. The music in there makes me want to come back for karaoke - they were playing ALL the jams! The only thing I didn’t love about the vibe is they were burning incense and the smell was a bit intense for me, but other than that and the wontons, it was great!

Jeffery Montgomery: If you're looking for good Chinese food late Saturday night, this is the place. Food was hot, fresh, and delicious. While we were able to get a table after 2 minutes of waiting (party of 2), other people had to wait. The food took a longer to arrive, but they're short staffed. The only three servers had to attend to the guests in the lobby, dining area, and karaoke rooms so it's understandable for the wait. The food is worth it, I'll definitely recommend this place as one you should eat at.

JORGE SUAREZ HURTADO: Good food but the attention of the waitress was very bad. The place was empty and she wasted quite a bit of time before taking our order. The order took a long time and she felt that she was just ignoring us.

Ronak Patel: Great place to try out!! Not only is the food really good, the customer service is great. Most places with this many menu options are not able to deliver with as much quality. However, it is not among the best of this cuisine that I have tried in the area so for that I have to give it 4 stars. Regardless, I would still recommend this place to anyone to at least try and see. They also have extensive drink options that are made well!

Mahagony McIntyre: The food is not good at all simply put.. I ordered California rolls and those were better than the entree and eggrolls. The grease from their eggrolls will clog your arteries…the shrimp fried rice lacked flavor…and taste like sewer shrimp…so strange to me! It looks good but don’t be fooled!

Z: We stumbled across this spot while wondering around Chinatown. We totally hit the jackpot. The place was almost full, but we got seated immediately. They quickly brought out the menus and drinks. We ordered octopus nigri, the vegetarian General Tso's Tofu, Triple Delight, and the Singapore rice noodles. Everything was absolutely delicious! The portions we HUGE. We'll be be back for sure

Renee Namakau Ombaba: I love this place so much! The food is excellent! The service is good. It’s a great go-to place in Chinatown.

Amber Eberlin: The food is amazing here. Never a disappointment. The teriyaki chicken was amazing and of course the pan fried pork dumplings. 😋

Noodles On 11: what do users think?

Abi Maghamfar: Stopped by for late lunch. Ordered Edamame, Green Curry Chicken with rice, Roasted Pork Rice Noodle soup and Sticky Rice with Mango. The green curry sauce was one of the best I've ever had and the chicken was tender. The roasted pork soup and the sticky rice mango were delicious as well. Service was friendly and proficient. The reason for 4 star vs 5 is because of the interior atmosphere, which is in need of of some tlc such as repair & paint the water damaged window sill.

Joshua C: Ordered soy sauce chicken with rice, red curry, pho chin and HK duck noodles, and spring roll for $70. The not-so-good: the chicken is dry, the sauce is a far cry from what you’d find in Hong Kong or a Southeast Asian place; the duck noodles were stuck together in a giant unappetizing blob; the pho had very dry beef and mild flavor. The good: the red curry was decent, and the duck noodle soup was quite good.

April Hammet: Staying around the corner at the Hyatt. Dishes were tasty, weren't quite as abundant as pictured. Menu was easy to follow. Wine and beer were more reasonable than the neighboring restaurants.

Jennifer C: Had lunch here and it was amazing! We ordered shrimp spring rolls, green chicken curry, and pho tai. It all had great flavor and the portions were big! We also ordered hot tea - so good! If we were residents of DC we would be here at least once a week. Yum!!

chris mason: I rarely feel compelled to leave a review, but after having lunch at Noodles on 11 on a Saturday, I did feel the need to share my experience. The service was fantastic and the food was even better. We were so pleased with our experience that we came back the same weekend and the server even recognized us. My biggest regret is that we aren’t local to DC so we can’t become regulars for this location.

Jinji Pang: Definitely a good restaurant! Had Suki twice and all tasted good! I will come more!

Kelly Tu: Perfect. Meat size is a little bit small. pho tastes mild. But overall it’s good.

Shu Wen: I ordered wonton and there are literally only six wontons inside. For 15.95 bucks this is by far the most expensive wonton I have ever had in my life. And the waitress confirmed this is what they provide. And the wontons are small as well. Look at the picture yourself.

Bao Tran (Bao): The place was nice and clean. The service was great. I ordered a bowl of chicken pho and Thai tea. The soup was well seasoned but the pho flavor was not quite there yet. The Thai tea was a bit light but tasted good, not too sweet. Overall, I enjoyed it.

Amber B.: The restaurant was clean and pretty busy. The Pho Ga (Chicken Pho) was a smaller portion but pretty good. We would have liked more add-ins (bean sprouts, Thai basil, lime wedges and jalapeños) but the waitress didn’t come back until we we’re almost finished eating. I would go back next time I’m in town.

Dolan Uyghur Restaurant: what do users think?

Kayla N: Overall, the quality of the food was not impressive. Every dish we ordered was good, but it was like there could be something to be improved with it. The veggies included in the pearled noodle dish didn’t seem to match so well, the lamb kebab seemed to be a little overcooked, and the pumpkin dumplings were definitely just square cuts of butternut squash in a dumpling wrapper. The dessert also didn’t taste super fresh. Service was very slow as well, even though they were not very busy in terms of the restaurant itself being packed. It was good but I wouldn’t come back just because none of the dishes stood out and tasted prettty average.
Response: We appreciate your feedback, Kayla! We sincerely apologize that your experience with our dishes such as our Pearled Noodles, Lamb Kebab, Kawa Manta, dessert, and our service was not up to your standards, which is also far from ours. We will continue to strive every day to operate at the highest standards based on the expectations of our customers, and continue to offer the best service and the highest quality and authentic halal food that characterizes our Uyghur culture. We hope you give us another opportunity to make it up to you and serve you with our best. Have a great week, best regards!

Frank Tao: The food tastes all right and I completely get it when people say they are delicious and special. However, having been to Xinjiang myself, I know it is not quite that authentic. There dishes rely somewhat too much on the sauces (and the red bell peppers), which often provides a sweet/sour flavor that covers the original flavor of the ingredients. Even if you only know a bit about Middle Eastern food, you know they don't make these complicated meshed-up dishes. The service was not good. We went to there in late Jan., and I don't know why they didn't turn the heat up. We all felt cold inside and the food went cold pretty quickly. This is bad for kebabs. The waiter/waitress are impassionate. This is less of their attitude but more of their lack of experiences/not being comfortable working in the hospitality industry. They came too early for orders and for checks.
Response: We appreciate your detailed review, Frank! We sincerely apologize that our dishes and service did not completely meet your expectations, and we are sorry to read that your experience with the weather inside our facilities was not to your liking and that you were uncomfortable. These situations are well below our standards and we will make sure that they do not happen again, and if for any reason you feel again that the climate inside the restaurant is not comfortable, do not hesitate to let us know and we will do our best to make your experience as pleasant as possible. We hope you will give us another opportunity to make it up to you and give you a five star experience. All the best to you and your family!

Fiona Alison Kibblewhite: The food here is truly excellent! I got the korma chop and really loved it. The noodles in particular are phenomenal. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for great Uyghur food!
Response: Thank you a lot for your feedback, Fiona! We are glad to know that you enjoyed our Korma Chop, one of the most requested dishes by our customers! We appreciate your support and look forward to your next visit and offering you more of our uyghur specialties. All the best to you!

Josh Axelrod: Wow. This is one of DC's crown jewels of ethnic dining. You've likely never had Uyghur food before, which means you're in for a once-in-a-lifetime treat. Because of the Uyghurs' geography in far-west China, their cuisine combines Asian ingredients like hand-pulled noodles with out-of-this world Middle Eastern and Turkic flavors. The Korma Chop and Laghman are must orders along with a French press of homemade tea.
Response: We really appreciate your support and best review, Josh! We are happy to know that your experience with our dishes such as the Korma Chop and Laghman was pleasant, in addition to our authentic tea. Our goal is definitely to bring each of our clients the best of our Uighur culture through our flavors. We are happy that you keep a piece of our culture in your memory. We hope to serve you again very soon. All the best to you!

Yi Jun Zhou: For starters, I want to make it clear that the food isn't bad at all, but it just felt too underwhelming wrt the 4 6 stars review on Google. It felt too much like a quick supper mom cooks to feed her children, so there's just something missing in the flavour, not like restaurant grade food. The Kebabs lacked flavour and the other dishes were mostly saucy and generally made quite salty with lots of bell peppers, celeries, and tomatoes. The staff was nice and welcoming, but for 40$ per person, it definitely lacked umami/savouriness in general!
Response: Thank you very much for your feedback, Yi! We genuinely apologize that your experience with the flavors of our dishes did not live up to your expectations, which is also far from our standards. We will continue to strive every day to provide the most delicious and authentic Uyghur food to each of our customers and to make sure that this does not happen again. We invite you to contact us at feddback@dolanuyghur.com for further communication, and we hope you will give us another opportunity to make it up to you and ensure that we provide you with an experience that lives up to your standards. Best wishes to you!

Zhanna :: we specially stopped in Washington for the Uyghur restaurant, but unfortunately we were disappointed. The dishes are strongly Americanized, the waiter does not understand the Uyghur cuisine at all, the chiefs are Indonesians. Complete disappointment. Ребят, к сожалению блюда американизированы и не особо вкусно (((
Response: Thank you for your feedback, Zhanna! We genuinely apologize if your experience with our dishes was not up to your expectations, which is not up to ours either, but I can assure you as the Restaurant proprietor, Uyghur and originally a native of the Ghulja area, that our food has the unique and authentic flavors that define our culture. We are a traditional Uyghur restaurant founded and operated by Uyghurs who love and respect our own Uyghur food and culture. We believe food is one of the most decisive parts of a cultural definition. Our primary goal and purpose are to bring our most traditional food and flavors to our customers. This is why we called our restaurant Dolan, which is representing the most civilized and precise history of Uyghurs. We invite you to contact us at feedback@dolanuyghur.com for more details about your order so that we can serve you with our best based on your expectations the next time you visit us. Hope you had a Happy New Year. Best regards!

MacKenzie Sexton: fantastic food and efficient, friendly service! i had the mushroom salad and the korma chop with beef. They were both excellent. the beef and noodles in the korma chop were cooked and seasoned wonderfully.
Response: Thanks for your best review, MacKenzie! We're glad to know that you enjoyed our Mushroom Salad and Korma Chop with beef and that you found our service efficient and friendly. We look forward to serving you again soon, best regards!

Lindsey Stiles: We ordered take out from Dolan last night and it was amazing! They have gluten free options (I got the dry fried chicken and green beans) and everything was delicious!
Response: We really appreciate your review, Lindsey! We're glad you enjoyed our gluten free menu with dishes like the dry fried chicken and green beans. Every day we work to offer our customers the best of our authentic flavors while taking into account their dietary preferences. We look forward to serving you again with our best and offering you more of our varied menu. Best wishes!

Jarin Tasnim: Food was soooooo good. Also I got perfect flavor with korma chop. “Want to go again???” Yessssssssssssssssssss🤩. But samsa should be beef or chicken.
Response: We are delighted with your review, Jarin. We are extremely glad that you enjoyed the dining experience at Uyghur, our Korma chop and thank you for choosing us. Reviews like yours help us to improve every day, we will take your feedback on our Samsa into consideration. We are a blend of Central Asian flavors that makes us unique and authentic, but at the same time with a homemade touch of familiar taste. We look forward to your next visit and serving you with our best, we wish you the best!

Iram Zafar: The menu has a lot of delicious options so it was hard To choose from. The food was tasty and the service was fast with bringing the food out! The kabobs are super cheap, but they’re delicious. My favorite things about this place is the combination of savory spices on the pulled noodles. However, I did have to wave the waiter down quite a bit! Overall, I recommend this place!
Response: We are very grateful for your review, Iram! We are glad to know that you enjoyed our dishes such as our Kebabs and Hand-Pulled Noodles; on the other hand, we apologize if your experience with our service did not completely meet your expectations. We will keep working hard to continue providing the best service and authentic Halal food. Thank you for recommending us and we look forward to having you back to serve you with our best again soon! All the best to you!

Mayflower Chinese Restaurant: what do users think?

Kathryn Guajardo: They changed their amazing sesame tvp - if you're like us and you used to order it once a week, on Tuesday's or Thursday's, like clockwork, be warned. It's no where near as good as the original. Whoever complained and said it was too crunchy originally, you're dead wrong and now we get some-how too spicy and also flavorless fake-meat morsels. ):

郭珮嫻: Amazing fried noodles. Full of pork, veggies, mushrooms and egg. Totally fixed my homesick.

John Baek: Seems to be family-owned, but lacks the quiet delicacy of your typical family-owned small Chinese. For its location, competing with a host of other venues, the quality is subpar, although it arrives fast and the two owners are friendly. Please note that the pictures shared inside their restaurant and on the menu might differ from what you receive. For DC, it is not overpriced, and the lunch special for overall value (as long as your standards aren't high) competes fairly against Wawa and Panera Bread. Long hours so a convenient place for getting a quick meal, but you won't be coming here very frequently.

Ihuoma: Ordered the beef and broccoli and it was really bad. The “beef” was chewy and hard to get down I’m really not sure if it was actual beef so that’s concerning. Wouldn’t order that particular meal again

Rosemarie Aldovino: Me and my coworker we order for delivery and took so long like anhour and 25mins . Supposed to be 35mins . The things is we don’t like the food . I order a general tao chicken and my coworker he order a kong pao chicken. The general tao chicken is all flour there’s no chicken meat on it it’s all flour 😡you can tell if there’s a meat or just flour . 🤬🤬 the rice so dry it’s look like it’s not cook yet . The kong pao chicken not much chicken ether all celery and carrots . Oh the delivery guy he had a attitude. He got mad that I gave him a $5 dollar tips . He expecting a big tips .

K K: $16.50 for this? No, sorry this is very average to poor Kung Pao chicken. Not much to eat and poor flavor. You can do better Mayflower!

Patrick Maguire: The delivery guys are honest if you drop money by accident. I am not sure if I offended cook or what. Eggrolls taste the same, at least. Other places taste the same. They are usually very good. I tried calling and never bugged them even the one time they delivered food without me ordering. I havent thrown the food away if they need proof something might be wrong.

Ebony Austin: Always a hit or miss with the taste of the food. I have a favorite dish I get and lately they have not executed it how I know they can

Ms. Oconnor: Came to this place after going somewhere else with a much higher rating disappointedly. Vegetable Spring/Egg Roll hits the Spot. The sauce that comes with the vegetable dumplings taste wonderful.

Denise Busey: Well.....I should have read the reviews before ordering 🧐 Definitely NOT The best Chinese food at all! General Toas had the craziest “chicken” if that’s what you wanna call it I’ve yet to eat. You really would think that Mayflower would change there cooks or put more effort into preparing food that people pay for! Customers patronize businesses to be satisfied and this ain’t the place. Ive only known of 1 place in the DMV that actually uses all breast white meat chicken.....more Chinese restaurants should do the same👎🏾 >>>hint hint><<<

Peking Gourmet Inn: what do users think?

Elias Chelala: I just moved back to the U.S. from Japan and was highly impressed with my experience at Peking Gourmet Inn. I know this isn't a Japanese restaurant but the food was delicious and prepared in a timely manner. We ordered the Peking Duck, the Spicy Scallops and the Pork Fried Rice. The Peking Duck was delicious but my friend mentioned the sauce was a little different than what he is used to on the west coast. The walls are full with photos of dignitaries and celebrities and it costs us about $75 when we split the bill in two. The servers were polite and my friend and I left extremely full and satisfied.

Yen Yan: Peking was the old name of Beijing before 1949. I m from Beijing, so when my friends recommended This restaurant, I definitely was excited to try. We a group of 50 people came and had dinner yesterday. The restaurant walls are filled with pictures of politics and celebrities. The seafood (scallops) soup was the best of all. I highly recommend it. The signature chicken 🍗 and lamb 🐑 chop were full of flavors. Joe Yen shrimp 🍤 are very nice, crispy and seasoned just right. I didn’t take picture of the duck, I was a bit disappointed with it. The sauce is not the authentic sauce, and the Duck was not roasted but fried, the meat is a bit too lean, however all my friends that never had Peking Duck before were happy with the duck dish. So I give a 4 stars.

Vanisa Khemanivong: Positives: Food quality, portions, pricing, kind wait staff, ambiance, interior design, cleanliness. This place is PERFECT in every sense of the word. Everything about the food and experience was magnificent. The Peking duck is out of this world. Negatives: None that I could recall. Overall taste: 10/10. Love coming here.

Hank Collier: This place is a jewel! I'd heard about Peking Gourmet for years, so when I found myself in the DC area for the weekend I gave it a try. Don't let the shabby strip mall fool you. The interior is elegant, the service top notch, and the food is superb. Highly recommended.

Albert Phan: Pros: Delicious food overall, esp. those succulent, flavorful, crispy lamb chops. Old school Chinese luxury kind of ambience. Great service (Eddie is the best) Cons: Peking duck is very mediocre, which was so disappointing because this is a very good restaurant otherwise and it’s obviously their namesake.

Sarah: Great service! The staff are very friendly and helpful; our waiter "John" was especially great. The Peking duck was overcooked and dry, but the experience was still overall good. We also ordered the green beans and the gourmet stir fried noodles, both are tasty and very filling!

B K: I used to go to this restaurant so many times so I know what to expect. BUT the quality of food has gone SO BAD recently. Peking duck was very dry and the portions got ridiculously smaller. We also ordered a pork dish too, and it was too oily with weird seasoning. Not worth $ at all. Even one star is too much based on my recent dine in. So sad because it used to be my favorite place. Never coming back.

Monica Gomez: The restaurant is extremely overstated!! The quality of the food, the service, the ambiance and the location do not match up the very high prices! We ordered the Schecuan shrimp ($35), which was tasteless and it came with only some scallions and a bunch of dried whole chili peppers. We also ordered broccoli with mushrooms and, again, tasteless and the broccoli was cut so thick that it was almost impossible to cut and eat, and the mushrooms were from a can! My neighborhood restaurant offers better and more tasty food...I will never, ever eat there again and I do not recommend it to anyone!

Adriana Rakshana: The peking duck is not as good as George Bush let's us believe (his favorite restaurant apparently). Good ol' George - always letting us down. Maybe it was just our meal but the duck was a little dry/overcooked. It is enough for 2 people though so don't feel the need to order another dish unless you're extremely hungry. We got the five spice beef and asked for it to be made very spicy. It was okay, not terribly spicy at all - more sour than spicy tbh. The service was great though, incredibly personable and efficient staff!

Eric Hernandez: Best Peking duck anywhere. There has never been anything there that I did not like. There is a reason why the walls are covered with pictures of celebrities and the powerful who have eaten there. People in the know eat where the food is good. I liked it enough that I had my graduation dinner there 20 years ago. Now that my kids are old enough, I brought my family to DC for vacation and made a point of bringing them here so that they could know why this was one of my favorite Chinese restaurants of all time.
