DC by Foot: what do users think?

Megan Leinbach: Andy gave the best tour of the Washington National Cathedral I’ve ever experience! As a DC local who has taken the free tour provided by cathedral docents multiple times, today’s DC By Foot tour with Andy blew me away. His passion for history and specifically this site was contagious and I truly enjoyed every moment. He encourages questions and can adjust the information he shares to align with the guests’ specific interests and level of background knowledge. As a someone who visits the beautiful grounds here at least once a year for personal enjoyment and brings out of town visitors for a cathedral tour every few years, I will from now on only want to tour with Andy. We were having such a great time that Andy generously extended the tour for an additional hour! Suggestion: Wear comfortable shoes and bring cash to tip at the conclusion of the tour (though he said he has Venmo as well). If there was an option for ten stars, that’s what I'd give the tour I enjoyed today!

Sindys Tavarez: My boyfriend and I took two tours in DC, and Colin’s one (Georgetown) was our favorite. He was very knowledgeable and knew his stuff. It was a mix of architecture and history which was perfect for us, because I’m into architecture/arts and my boyfriend is into history/politics. We loved it.

Jamie McDonald: We love the concept of DC by Foot (pay what you experience) and previously did New Orleans by Foot a few years ago, also loved the experience. This trip we booked four tours, and they did not disappoint. Moonlight and Memorials Tour - Let's start with it was cold, unseasonably cold for DC during the end of March. Taking a walking tour while it's raining/sleeting doesn't sound fun, but it was!! The tours are always about filling your mind with history, lots of history and really getting you engaged with understanding the background and current information about the topic...on this tour, it was the memorials and the DC Mall. We visited the Lockkeepers stone house (don't recognized that one, you will!) Washington Monument, WWII, MLK, Korea, Vietnam and Lincoln Memorials. You will have plenty of time at each memorial for pictures and reading. We learned so much and our tour guide really made the best of the weather situation, laughing and keeping us moving! Our kids at the end were able to repeat so much history about how the city of Washington DC started, who the city builder was, who our Founding Fathers are and had a new appreciation for our veterans from the war memorials. Lincoln Assassination Tour - This one is really fun. If you love a good story, hearing the history, stopping at the sites where history happened...this one is for you. The tour is about telling the story of the days leading up to Lincoln's assassination and taking you back to the year of 1865. You could almost hear the horses on the old streets, smell the cigar smoke and feel the chaos after the fatal shot was fired. It was a glorious trip back in time. Arlington National Cemetery - I wouldn't miss this one. The tour is walking and the cemetery has a lot of stairs and is hilly, be prepared with good walking shoes. This was another fantastic history of information tour. You learn about the cemetery, headstones, stop at General Robert E. Lee's house for a good amount of time, visit JFK's eternal flame, Ruth Bader Ginsburg's grave, watch the Changing of the Guard at the Tomb of the Unknown Solider. You have plenty of time for pictures and questions along the way. The grounds are beautiful and a place every American needs to visit. Washington National Cathedral Tour - This was a treat. We did a private tour with Andy, who is absolutely enthralled with the history and beauty of the cathedral. I was a little worried about our four kids not enjoying the cathedral tour as much, but when Andy met our kids his eyes lit up with excitement to show and teach them. No question will go unanswered and the more questions the happier Andy gets! Make sure to ask about gargoyles, (as my daughter did) and you won't be disappointed as there is a special one that kids will love to see. Plan to spend extra time after the tour at the Cathedral, you'll want to explore more by taking the elevator to the top level for pictures and walk around the grounds. The Cathedral tour was our family favorite and all the rest came in a very close second. This will not be the last of our Tours by Foot, we are planning to keep doing more in future cities we visit.

John David Suayan: Immensely enjoyed the two-hour walking tour of the National Mall I went on last week. Rebecca did a superb job with explaining the backstories of the sites we visited. She told us several things that we didn't learn in school. For example, did you know that war memorials are dedicated on Memorial Day? Or that the Washington Monument is held up not by a sturdy foundation but gravity? Or that the names on the Vietnam Memorial aren't in ABC order? I learned those facts on the tour. Rebecca was really cool for letting us explore the sites and take pictures of them for 10 minutes or so. I felt like this tour made my first time to the nation's capital complete. So, if you're looking to have someone guide you on the National Mall, get with these guys. And if you're assigned to Rebecca, prepare to be amazed.

Joseph Neidenbach: My wife and I took the Georgetown by Foot Tour led by Rebecca. Rebecca did a great job. She was knowledgeable, energetic, friendly and a great representative of our nations capital. I highly recommend this tour. The two hour walk was comfortable. We will take one of these tours the next time we are in DC.

David Matsu: When my wife and I visit new cities we like to take the local "Free Walking Tours." We took the National Mall/Tidal Basin tour with Rebecca and were not disappointed. She took us on a three hour walk, in the rain, and told us all about the history of the monuments. She was well informed, able to answers all questions and taught us a lot. I encourage travelers to take advantage and support the "free tours" especially with a guide like Rebecca.

Lani Slonim: This tour is well planned and well timed and was given by a guide who was personable and knew her history. Ingeborg had fun antidotes and stories that enhanced the understanding of the area in an enjoyable way. Thank you for your efforts!

Jenay Rouimi: We did two great Name Your Price Tours while in Washington - 2 adults and (1) 9 year old. We started with the Arlington Cemetery Tour with Colin and it was excellent. This tour does involve a lot of walking but I highly recommend it. While Arlington does have the trams, I think this tour provides a much more up close (and far less crowded) viewing. Colin was extremely knowledgeable, and he kept us all entertained and informed. We also did the Name Your Price Tour of the Monuments by Moonlight with Emilia. It was an unseasonably cold March night, but it turned out to be a wonderful experience. The monuments were far less crowded then we expected, and the night time view is spectacular and far different from day time. I highly recommend experiencing both ways. Emilia had so much interesting information on the monuments that I have never heard before and I feel much more well rounded and “in the know”.

Elaine Limanek: My friend and I went to the Ghosts of Georgetown tour and we have nothing but good things to say! Our tour guide, Melissa, was charismatic and led us on a thrilling adventure through the streets of Georgetown, where we learned about the history and haunts of the most charming corner of DC. We truly loved every minute and will certainly be back again!

Lydia Castillo: My boyfriend and I took the Ghosts of Georgetown tour with Emilia. Literally stop looking for a tour, and book it. Now. Okay, have you booked? Now you can read the rest of the review. Emilia was hilarious while also telling our group some great spooky stories. She was really informative of the area's history and made our trip so enjoyable. You get a taste of old Hollywood (The Exorcist), Colonial America, 60s Politics, and good ol' present day stories. We really enjoyed the tour and will definitely be booking another tour with DC by Foot on our next trip.

Off the Mall Tours: what do users think?

Adria Crannell: Katie and off the mall tours are great! I've taken 2 tours now - madams of DC and Harlem Renaissance. Katie does extensive research and shares all kinds of fun trivia and facts you would not otherwise learn in your standard tour. It's great for locals to get to learn about the history of their own neighborhoods and also for visitors to learn something new about the city. Will definitely tour with OTM again!

Amaury Laporte: I did all of the main tours (Madams of DC, Historic Alleyways, The Wives Who Won the Cold War, Harlem Renaissance in DC, the History of Black Georgetown, District of Punk and—last but not least—French Connections), and they're all great. Off the Mall Tours covers lesser-known aspects of our capital's history, and I learned a whole lot. Highly recommended!

HEATHER MCMANUS: I so loved this tour and the tour guide! We did the Madams of DC tour. Completely fascinating and makes you think about what life was like for women. I highly recommend it.

Jon Psotka: We did the Madams of DC tour. As an area native I had always thought of Federal Triangle as the most boring of neighborhoods, so walking around and learning about its sordid past, right next to the Mall, was an eye-opening experience. Tour guide was fun and knowledgeable. Recommended.

Jasmine Plummer: Great tours from a knowledgable and friendly host! Katie's tours are a magical learning experience. DC has a very rich history far beyond the White House, the Capitol, and the monuments, and Off the Mall Tours offers you the chance to see and feel it!

Michael Terracciano: Off The Mall Tours is an informative and entertaining walk through the hidden gems of the DC area. A must for history buffs and lovers of local lore. Highly recommended.

Sex Pistoleros: Great punk tour of DC.

USA Guided Tours: what do users think?

Aaron Renshaw: We took the nighttime DC monument tour in a covered top Sprinter van. Our guide was friendly, attentive, and very knowledgeable about the city. We were visiting in early January so it was super cold and had recently snowed so our guide kept us warm and comfortable also by strategically parking the van or moving it for us to save steps after walking the monuments. Overall, fun and memorable. I'd highly recommend this tour!
Response: Thanks for sharing your great experience! Find us on Instagram & think of us if you ever come back or go to NYC - we offer tours there too!

Rebekah Diaz: Did the night tour with Mr Map! It was great to stop at so many places and take photos. I do wish that the tour guide would have come off the bus to tell us about the different landmarks instead of staying on the bus. It was beautiful to see all the monuments lit up—different than the daytime sights. We chose the closed climate controlled instead of open top because it was rather cold at night (in late April!)! Would recommend.

Vanessa Losey: Thanks for making my dad bday that much more memorable! My dad a senior citizen and the pace was perfect for him, including all the bathroom breaks and patience. Thank you Terry for a tour to remember and for signing to my dad happy birthday!!! Memories to last a lifetime. His service dog loved it too!!!

Teresa Simmons: We took the DC tour on Sunday. Nick was our guide. The tour was a great way to see the sights and learn interesting facts. Nick loves his job and it shows! He was funny and informative! Highly recommend Nick and the 6 hour DC day tour. We had and amazing time!!

Suzanne: We took the dusk to dark, open top bus tour, and it was well worth it! The small group allowed for a much more personalized experience. It was obvious to us that our guide, Nick, truly enjoys his job, and that adds to the experience. He was friendly, knowledgeable and has a great sense of humor, all of which added up to a very comfortable, enjoyable tour! He made it feel like we had a long time friend showing us the many sites. Definitely recommend this tour!
Response: Thanks for traveling with us Share you memories with us on Instagram @usaguidedtours!

Bianca Moskaitis: Nick the @tourgod was one of the most amazing tour guides I’ve ever experienced! His knowledge and charisma made us feel so comfortable. He kept us laughing and on time! He was just a delightful and I’m so glad we got to experience him today! The Mercedes’ sprinter is a beautiful site to see while traveling down Constitution ave and Pennsylvania ave. Such a luxurious site to see🎉🎊 I’m so excited to take another tour with them in the spring! Here are come Loudoun VA wine country 🍷

Tricia Barr: We had a fabulous experience with Alicia as our tour guide and Thomas as our driver. We enjoyed a very informative 6-hour tour with Potomac River cruise. The best compliment was given by my ten year old daughter who is often reluctant to join historical and sight-seeing tours and would far prefer a spring break at a theme park. She said, “I learned so much about my country and I loved learning about all of the hidden meanings of the monuments.” As a parent, I was so happy that she loved the symbolism and significance of all that DC had to offer! Thank you to Alicia for your positive energy and sharing your extensive knowledge of our Nation’s capital!

Shari S: Nick and our driver were awesome. Very knowledgeable. Highly recommend. I took borh the day and the night tour with this company. I highly recommend using this tour company. Parking can be a little difficult and further away then the tour can get you. I am so glad I signed up for these tours. I will make sure to let everyone I know going to any city they service to use them.
Response: We're so glad you had a great time! Share your photos with us on instagram!

Joseph McIntyre: Originally scheduled the daytime tour with the riverboat cruise. Had to change due to flight delays and a mix up with rental cars. They were very accommodating and allowed us to switch the tour last minute to the night tour. Our tour guide, Nick was very knowledgeable and entertaining. Thanks so much for the memories!
Response: Thanks for the positive feedback. We understand that the basis of travel is to embrace the unexpected. Because of this, we are always willing to reschedule. Also, if you are worried that your trip has too many variables, we offer trip insurance to cancel up to the minute before the tour for a full refund (minus the insurance cost).

Lisa Hayes: Great tour that I would highly recommend. Curtis was our driver and nick was our tour guide. Very knowledgeable and had plenty of time at all the stops. They had just taken down the fences at the capitol so we were able to go on the lawn. We did the night tour and they picked us up at our hotel which was perfect since I had just had some foot surgery and walking was difficult. Would recommend this tour to everyone and Great price.

Babylon Tours DC: what do users think?

Ha Ta: Britney and Toi were awesome, fun, exciting and very extremely knowledgeable! Definitely recommend it. A day filled with fun and fun facts and hiatorical stories.

Jill Willcox: We had the pleasure of meeting Bess, as our guide for DC National Mall and Memorials. It was not perfect weather, but we did not care as Bess was engaging, funny, and filled with exciting stories we would never have known if we did not take the tour. It's one thing to walk around by yourself, but you don't get all the backstories that make these tours fantastic. We went and saw the Washington Monument, the Lincoln Memorial, the Vietnam Memorial, the WW2 Memorial, the Korean Memorial, and the Martin Luther King Memorial. We loved the tour so much that we booked another for the American History tour with Bess. Thanks so much for having such fantastic individuals teaching us more than we could have learned by ourselves in beautiful Washington, DC.

Nathan Hartman: Ask for Donna for a private tour of the National Archives and Supreme Court. She is extraordinarily informed about the history and meaning of our nation’s treasures. She was phenomenal with the kids and brought the stories to life.

dianne chiogna: Positive: Professionalism, Quality, Responsiveness, ValueRebecca was Amazing!! She was so engaging and knowledgeable it made our tour an adventure in history. Tour of the National Archives is a must and if at all possible request Rebecca!!!!

Akiva Leyton: Could not have had a better experience in DC. Our tour guide was courteous, knowledgeable, and very friendly. Can't recommend this tour group enough!

Reuben Kats: Great experience going through the historic landmarks. I will definitely use this company in the future!

Big Bus Tours Washington DC Visitor Center: what do users think?

Delaney Gellert: Such a cool way to explore all around DC and lets you see a lot in 1-2 hours. Getting on was somewhat confusing and you might not be with your family altogether since there are not assigned spots. The audio is okay but gives you a lot of information for when you are near tourist spots. There was only one hop off spot at the Lincoln Memorial but it is not for long so its more to stretch your legs and see the bottom of the monument. I recommend going more at night time because it nice to see the sunset on DC and was a lot cooler for when you are going in the summer time :)

Kayla Kirkpatrick: Ms. Gale was a great driver and made sure we all had a safe and enjoyable trip! My parents and I loved our trip and would definitely recommend big bus if you want a scenic route around the city!

D'Andrea Wright: GREG was so awesome! He was funny, organized and gave us lollipops. The bus ride was also fun! However, the entire right side of the bus didn't have working audio, so I missed out on all of the historical information and it was super cold.

nailah morris: Love the concept of the tour! Make sure you plan accordingly so you can see all the major sights! Also listening to the headphones are a great idea they give you a lot of information! John Dickey was such a sweet fantastic driver! Overall a great experience!

Patrick Billerman: There are several things that come to mind after using big bus tour today in Washington DC. First off the buses are designed with uncomfortable hard plastic seats. They also have plug in earbuds for you so you can listen to the commentary that has been pre-recorded. Some of the commentary is too early and some of the commentary is too late since we passed the item they were speaking about. The first go around we try to get on a bus and it was very difficult at the 10 stop of the tour route. While the busses come every 15 minutes we could not got on the first one at 11am after we waited 15 minutes for it to come, we had to stand there for another 15 minutes for the next bus. I’m just glad the weather was nice. When we finally got on a bus we had to sit In the lower seats since they have limited open air seats. These lower seats on these buses have a very bad sight lines to the monuments around Washington DC. On our last bus that we hopped on we had to sit downstairs since there were no seats upstairs in the cool air. The driver never put on air-conditioning so we were very warm and uncomfortable on the bottom level. We got off of at the next stop and walk to where we wanted to go. Don’t even get me started on that app that doesn’t work.

Ganeshan Venkatesha: Contrary to my belief, I had best experience while making a trip between Vienna Metro and New York on 18th and 21st. I travelled in Bus for the first time in 30 years in the US. First it was very well organized. It was punctual. Inspite of many road constructional delays, the bus driver tried to maintain punctuality. I was very impressed with the driver whose name I do not know. . He is tall black very well built. He was so disciplined and professional. He never indulged in talking nor did he waste time in stops. He just stopped for 12 minutes for a single short break. Never applied breaks suddenly. The drive was so smooth at consistent speed. All in all I would prefer bus ride instead of a driving in car. The only inconvenience was that I could not reserve seats even 15 days earlier. First come first served appears good but hurts those who plan early. Hope the bus reserves at least 25% of seats for advance reservation. That would be a very good thing. Ganeshan Centreville VA

Pippela Pam: We purchased the deluxe ticket + night tour which was well worth the price. The narrators all had different levels of knowledge about DC which made for interesting rides, even if we had been by the same place. All the staff from drivers to ticket sellers were awesome! For the ticket price you can get on and off for 2 days which was a great way to get around the city. We went on the boat, Madame Tussands and the night tour which was gorgeous and loved that we all were able to use the upper deck to see the sites. We highly recommend using Big Bus tours and will definitely use again when available at other cities or when we are in DC again.

Alla Kotlyarova: It can only be good if you hop on the bus at the stop number 1 and don't leave the bus. I purchased a deluxe ticket that comes with a night tour and a 2-day tour. I got to use the night tour only. I couldn't find the bus for the day tour at the designated stops. The bus didn't stop twice on those stops, even though they saw Mr. I did city sightseen bus in NYC and it was great! Lots of busses which come frequently. This big bus in DC was horrible. If I knew, I would just purchased a night tour with no stops.

Ameet Sandhu: Tour is decent though I wish there was a live tour guide not an audio recording. Also the buses are old and outdated I wish there were outlets for charging. The staff could also be more friendly.

Latoya Fletcher: We purchased the red line tours...which I thought was a good enough for my group...it started at Union station...we we're lucky to have decided to do our tour on a Sunday as we were lucky to get free parking on the street and more importantly if the town was that busy I would not want to see a week day. We hoped to start the tour as they opened .. but finding the place took us some time so we lost 2 hrs...we had to move fast through the various stop and we could not come off at most, we choose a few and we still had to run to catch the last bus. This tour offers more than you can do in one day...so choose carefully or book another day ..

Natalia Mednikov: This tour was amazing! The guide was full of knowledge. Don’t miss out. A 1,5 hour tour that goes by fast. We stopped off to see some very impressive and important monuments. I cannot say enough about the beautiful and well planned tour. It was a perfect experience. All the staff who work for this company are very friendly.
Response: Natalia It's always great to hear from our guests. Thank you for sharing your review of Old Town Trolley Tours Washington DC. We hope to see you back again in the future.

Quynh Tran: Mike G. (From Boston) was the best tour guide I’ve ever had. He was very knowledgeable and knew everything. I he was like a human google of Washington DC (or history in general)! It was a little chilly but it was a great start to DC and knowing the general areas before the rest of your trip. Our guide was very accommodating and left no man behind. Highly recommend!
Response: Quynh We are thrilled to hear how much you enjoyed your day with Old Town Trolley Tours Washington DC. Thank you so much for sharing your experience with us.

Connor Roberts: An excellent tour of the most important areas of DC for a fair price. The trolley ride was comfortable and the staff at the store and the tour guide were friendly and very knowledgeable. The tour we took was about 2 hours long including a half hour break at the Lincoln Memorial. If you're in DC I highly recommend checking this out, it's definitely worth it.
Response: Connor Thank so much for taking the time to write such a nice review about Old Town Trolley Tours Washington DC and we are so pleased that you had such a good time. We look forward to having you come back and visiting us again!

Miranda Oliver: "Lucky" was our driver. She was amazing! Fitting that we had a female driver during women's history month. So knowledgable and fun. She handled other driver's rudeness with grace and integrity. It truly takes a talent to be able to drive through busy city streets, conduct an informative tour and keep everyone safe. Would do this tour again and recommend to all!
Response: Miranda Thank you for making us part of your vacation. We really appreciate you taking the time to share your feedback about Old Town Trolley Tours Washington DC and being so open with us.

M Lopez: Visiting DC and decided to take a tour to get to see all the sights without all the walking, $45 per adult for a 90 minute tour which included a 30 minute stop at the lincoln memorial, yay! Our guide was very knowledgeable and funny, I unfortunately can't remember his name 😕. Highly recommend Old Town Trolley Tours, I have used them in other cities and they never disappoint The only down side is that they discontinued the hop on hop off service in DC, hopefully they'll start it again in the future, but the 30+ stop was great.
Response: M It’s always great for our team to hear from our guests. Thank you for taking the time to provide us with a review of your experience on Old Town Trolley Tours Washington DC. We look forward to seeing you again soon!

Laura Oliver: Positive: Professionalism, Quality, Responsiveness, ValueMoonlight trolley tour is fabulous! Slem: We ran up as a night time tour was starting. We didn't have advanced tickets because we weren't sure if we'd make it in time. They let us buy tickets and hop on a bus very quickly. Our tour guide, Honest Abe, was great. Loved his commentary and Playlist.
Response: Slem Love hearing from our guests like you! Thank you for the review of Old Town Trolley Tours Washington DC! We are glad you had a fun time.

Talina McKinley: My experience with this trolley tour was not good...I booked online, when I got to the welcome center the check in attendant was not friendly, he looked high and felt like I bothered him...it was not a hop on/hop off...I paid for Arlington Cemetery and had to find my own way there...the 90 minutes ride felt like an hour of seeing nothing, drove past everything so fast you could barely get a pic...I had to go to the White House on my own... couldn't see the Martin Luther King Monument...spent 30 minutes at Lincoln Memorial
Response: We are sorry you were disappointed in our tour. We offer a satisfaction guarantee located on the customer service page of our website.

Donna Hensley: I wish there were 5 more stars I could give Old Town Trolley! The personalized narration by knowledgeable, friendly drivers are always the rule.

Paula Jasinski: Our group recently took the Drinking History tour and loved it! We’d been to DC many many times before but Bo told us stories we’d never heard before. He also took us to places that we’d somehow overlooked. Great history, hysterical stories, and a slew of drinks- what more could you ask for? Do yourself a favor and sign up for one of these tours! Becky Trullinger: My family took the Arlington Cemetery walking tour last weekend. Bo’s knowledge of it’s history and story telling was fantastic. His Southern charm and sense of humor kept us spellbound and entertained. Just wish we had time to take all of his tours.

Lyndsay Sims: Such a wonderful experience! Bo, was informative, engaging and interactive with our group. I learned a lot of fun and interesting facts about DC. I would highly recommend this tour!

Andrea Janko: I've never felt so American. Highly recommend.

DC Design Tours: what do users think?

Kristin Roberts: I took a Cleveland Park Cherry Blossom Neighborhood Tour a couple of days ago and loved it! I learned so much about the National Cathedral grounds and the Cleveland Park neighborhood, even though I lived in the District for over 10 years. There were also great connections to other areas of DC on the tour that really shows the “small town” nature of DC. On top of that, Carolyn, our guide, was friendly and welcoming making sure to engage everyone in our group in conversation and asking all of our questions! I wish I had had time to take more of their tours while I was visiting, but will definitely sign up for another next time I’m in town!
Response: Thanks Kristin! It was a pleasure meeting you!

aphrodite fletcher: Beautiful walking tour of the cherry blossoms. Unfortunately we weren’t able to the splendor due to the bad weather a few days prior to the the tour. Our guide was very informative!
Response: Thanks for joining us, Aphrodite!

ANNE Goshen: Carolyn was a wonderful guide for our family group of seven. We would definitely use her on our next trip to DC. And I’ve already recommended her to several friends. Thanks for perfect experience.
Response: Thank you, Anne! It was a pleasure touring with your family and I truly appreciate your review and referrals. Word of mouth is the back bone of my business! Hope to see you all again.

Cheri Wyse: This tour is a must! Carolyn was warm and knowledgeable. The time flew by as we immersed ourselves in the history she was sharing.
Response: Thanks so much Cheri! It was a pleasure meeting you and Randy. Thanks for sticking it out in the cold with me! :)

Jill Smith: My husband and I are relatively new DC locals and thought a tour would be an excellent way to learn more about our new community and we were not disappointed. We had an amazing time with Sam yesterday, as our guide on the White House & Penn Ave Architecture Tour. He was informative, engaging and great fun to spend time with. An architecture tour with the rich historical context is an interesting and illuminating way to learn about DC in that it was a designed city. I will appreciate the buildings and the area in a new way and have fun stories to share with friends. Having previously enjoyed an exceptional tour with Carolyn (Dupont Circle and Embassy Row), I would enthusiastically recommend DC Design Tours to architecture and history buffs alike.
Response: We really appreciate your review, Jill! Thank you for being a repeat customer, and taking the time to post about our tours!

susan fleming: Our tour of Georgetown's architecture was absolutely amazing! Carolyn's knowledge of the history of Georgetown is deep and her added stories about little known snippets of American history added a wonderful touch of humor. I would highly recommend taking one of the custom tours for a few hours that you will never forget!
Response: Thanks so much Susan! I really enjoyed our tour together!

Stephen Mannino: Our family thoroughly enjoyed a DC Design Tours walking tour of historic Georgetown with our private tour guide, Sam. Sam was informative, witty, and extremely engaging over the course of our 2-hr tour. We have two teens, including one who is not easily entertained or amused and he was capable of captivating that kid for the duration. We highly recommend DC Design Tours, especially Sam!
Response: Thank you Stephen! We really appreciate your review!

Josh Torres: The tour was amazing. Carolyn was nice and knowledgeable. She was sincere about the good and bad of DC, very descriptive and had great suggestions. Took time to hear our story and made personalized suggestions on other tours we should take with them. We definitely will be back to take more tours with Carolyn.
Response: Thanks very much, Josh! Hope to see you again! :)

Meghan Cocci: We took the evening walking tour of monuments and memorials with DC Design Tours. Carolyn was a pleasure to work with - quick to respond to inquiries and very easy to book. Sam, our guide, was incredibly knowledgeable and charismatic. He kept our group of 9 (that included 5 kids) engaged throughout the tour with interesting anecdotes and stories along the way. Definitely would book again!
Response: Thank you so much for joining us Meghan! Hope to see you all again soon!

Mel Korobkin: Positive: Professionalism, Punctuality, QualityWe had a wonderful experience with DC Design Tours. Our team of real estate agents went on this tour to learn a little history and architecture about DC. We truly learned so much and had so much fun. The bus was gorgeous and our guide was so knowledgeable and personable. Highly recommend!!Services: Private tours, City tours, Group tours
Response: Thank you Mel! I really enjoyed exploring so many beautiful and storied neighborhoods with you and your team!

City Segway Tours: what do users think?

Ian Campbell: This is a MUST if you are in the DC area. The segways are super fun and a great way to explore the sights! Our tour guide Joe made this trip extra memorable, he was super knowledgeable, down to earth and fun! Learned a lot of neat things about the city and got to see all the main sights! Joe also gave some great recommendations of things to do after the tour which led to other great experiences, can't express enough how awesome this was!

Allinton Alexander: This place was absolutely amazing, the instructor we had his name was Sam. Sam was great very attentive spoke clearly waited for us and was very knowledgeable of the memorials around the National Mall. I've been on many Segway tours around the country and this one though it was not the best, mainly because I live in DC and seen The Monuments many times. It was definitely very rememberable. It kind of sucks because of the location of the Segway store it's a great location but like DC parking is tough so that's always an issue. The store was clean the lady up front was very friendly she actually gave me a pair of sun shades because I forgot mine at the house. Much appreciated. For someone who has never been on a Subway or never experience DC on a Segway, I will definitely recommend this place because it beats walking.

Karen Colclasure: Over the 150 trips I have taken, other than snowmobiling this is my favorite thing to do ! I will always always always try to find a Segway company in any town that I go to. This is the best way to tour a city. And it was absolutely fabulous we now we'll to tour our capital city this way. Thank you thank you thank you !

Anup Rao: The staffs were friendly and our guide Rob was amazing and took care of us.Safety first and we had a great segway tour around the beautiful monuments of DC.

Cindy Harper: The tour was a blast. We did the 6PM sunset tour and I have to say this was the highlight of our trip to DC. Anna was our guide and she was super knowledgeable and funny! Yes, she definitely made the tour a 5 star! We will go with City Segway Tours next time in DC or any city we visit that they are located.

Chris VanBelle: What a fun and informational tour. I would have loved to dine a larger tour and learned more. Wear comfy shoes, and be ready to go if it rains. It was an awesome tour!!

Imran Khanji: Did the segwey tour a few years ago and now the bike tour. Highly recommend bike tour with Tom. Bike tour allows you to go to more places and get off in more places because segweys have more restrictions. Also, highly recommend doing the tour at night.

J. S.: It was our first time riding on segways. Our guide was very good in teaching us how to safely ride them. She also was very fun to communicate with. Overall the tour was very informative and interesting. In three hours we were able to see a lot of historical buildings and monuments

Kyle Hayes: So much fun will do again great guide he was very knowledgeable and funny

Emily Thompson: This was an absolutely fantastic experience! Could not recommend it enough. Not only was it a great way to see a large portion of the sites, far faster than walking it all, our guide was wonderful and his commentary gave interesting context and added backstory to the sites we saw. We did the night tour and it was perfect -- cooler temperatures in the evening, sunset and later, the nightime uplighting on the memorials, was amazing! We had plenty of time at each memorial to explore and take pictures. Overall we had blast on the Segways (it was our first time riding them, but it was so easy and so fun!) We will definitely be looking to do Segway tours in other cities we visit!

Custom Tours of DC - Private Tour Agency: what do users think?

Lee Winchell: We couldn't have asked for a better tour for our family of 4! We visited all the sites we were looking forward to, including finding relatives and friends both at Arlington and the Vietnam Memorial. Our tour guide Buck was the BEST we've ever had on any of our travels. He was great with involving kids and getting them thinking to ask their own questions, had so much information that was NOT on a boring script, and you could just tell he loves what he does! We'll definitely reach out again and would recommend to all our family and friends. Thank you!!

Sandee Guzman: I recently organized a group activity for my work colleagues. We are a group from New Jersey and we got together for the first time in 2 years. We have about 50 people combined from the US to Europe and Brazil. Because of our time restraint, I arranged a 4 our tour of the DC area with all the important landmarks. I reached out to Custom Tours and connected with Adam and he accommodated my group. We were connected with Debbie our tour guide and I cannot say enough about how fantastic she was. She is the sweetest person, funny, thorough in her explanations of the landmarks and made sure we saw all the sites despite the time restrictions we had. It was the perfect combination of riding on a bus and walking. My colleagues were so please with the tour especially the ones that were in DC for the first time. I am grateful that this tour worked out and thankful for Debbie. Please ask for her for her if you have a trip to DC for work or pleasure. They really cater to large groups!

Pat Flora: The tour starts the Navy memorial, and our tour guide Britney started as soon as all were there....."early", which makes 100% sense, you never see common sense applied anymore however Britney was all over it. With early start Britney took her time and was informative on all points of interest along the way. You could tell she enjoyed her job and the challenge of being tested. The monuments truly have a different appearance at night. I was honored to be able to share these sites and educational memories with my family. Thank you Britney for your insight and vast knowledge of DC.

Michelle Hall: We had a great private night tour for our family group of 35. Our guide Clift was more than accommodating, helpful, nice, and knowledgeable. Would recommend this tour for anyone.

Ashley Iversen: Had a conference in DC and wanted a fun private tour of all the great memorials with our team and Custom Tours of DC fully came through. Easy booking, great price and had a fabulous and funny tour guide, Larry! Everyone left the tour very satisfied and learned a bunch!

Mackenzie Bordelon: I reached out to Custom Tours of DC for a corporate event with tons of specifics and every single request was made without hesitation. Our group of 30 was taken on an executive bus for 90 minutes for a quick version of their tour. We we able to bring wine on board and enjoy the sights for our night tour. They were very accommodating picking us up at our dinner spot and dropping us off at our hotel. Adam was the coordinator for the entire event and he made the process seamless! 10/10 recommend for any groups coming to the DC area.

Anthony Cheng: We had driver Leon, and guide Monti. Both were courteous and helpful, particularly as one in our party needed wheelchair assistance for longer walks. We enjoyed the dusk to night tour of national monuments, took lots of photos. Monti particularly knowledgeable with historical facts, shared generously with us. In 2+ hrs we saw all the major monuments and memorialized with photos. Worth the $$ as walking to all these would have been logistically impossible. I highly recommend this company and its service.

Shirley: Charles and Dave were in charge of our tour on a very hot day in DC. They made every effort and did a wonderful job to make our trip enjoyable and succeeded. Even though some of the things we wanted to see were closed they gave us alternative choices that were wonderful. Would highly recommend them.

Annie Ellis: Everything we hoped for and more! It was so wonderful to connect with Adam to help plan 3 days of 3-4 hour morning tours to maximize our time in DC with my elderly parents in the August heat. We were able to comfortably fit in everything we needed to see and enjoyed visiting the sites at our own pace after being dropped off at the closest spots to make things easier for my parents. We learned so much and had amazing conversations with our extremely knowledgeable and insightful tour guides Bob and Rebecca. Our driver was fantastic and attentive. My folks really enjoyed the VIP treatment. Thank you all for the first-rate experience and beautiful memories!

Andy Nichols: We were finally able to have our Washington DC trip after COVID canceled our trip in March 2020. Adam Plescia was great to work with as we put our trip on hold until March 2021. We were two families looking to get a great tour with all the history and we were not disappointed! Our DC tour was AMAZING! Bob was our tour guide and he was awesome! COVID-19 restrictions didn’t keep us from seeing and learning so much about our nation’s capitol! I would recommend Custom Tours of DC to any family!

White House Visitor Center: what do users think?

Jesse Enloe: We apparently were quite fortunate to be able to get into the White House on this trip as we'd put a request in for the tour less than a month before our vacation and I'd heard you'd need to request a tour several months in advance. Security is tight, as one could imagine, so be sure to follow all the prescribed rules very carefully. The security stationed around the home are quite friendly and informative, giving the history of each room in which they're stationed to all who ask. Our timing was great, as we got to see the presidential motorcade leaving right as we showed up.

Kevin Pelley: The White House was dressed up beautifully for Christmas. Our trip was easy fun and stunning. We requested our tickets three months prior through our representative. We showed up 1 hour early to the White House Visitor Center, where we discovered that the entrance is across the street. The White House Visitor Center was a great place to start, with a 12 minute informative video, models and Miniatures of the White House, and artifacts with information about the life in the White House. We also picked up several gifts for family members at the gift shop at the White House Visitor Center. 30 minutes prior to our appointed visit time we made our way to the security entrance across the street from Pershing Park. There are three separate screening areas, but all were easy and non-intrusive. The White House itself was fully decked out for Christmas. It looked and smelled like the holidays. The tour is self-guided, but there are Secret Service agents everywhere who are very friendly and willing to provide information about the room in which they're posted. We highly recommend this tour for anyone.

Ryan Barley: Very cool place and I wish it was advertised better. Once you find it it is a great museum, full of information about the beginnings of the White house. Also it tells of the evolution the building went throw over time. Cool artifacts that show the people who interacted with America, old house hold items that were used to entertain guests and old furniture the past presidents sat on. Pretty quick museum over all in comparison to all the other museums at the National Mall.

Freeman Tao: Interesting and varied displays. Not as much content as I thought there would be. Due to our group's early entrance time, we visited the White House before walking down the the visitors center. Even the hallways in the White House have been a part of history and the entire place is a museum. It would have been nice if the we could have reversed the order. We would have had more background information before stepping into the White House.

Danny Brown: I really enjoyed the tour but the only thing that disappointed me was that the tour was not long enough. It is more or less a self-guided tour but there are a Secret Service agent in each room to answer any questions you may have. Wished we could see more but we knew that was not possible because of security concerns. We would recommend this tour.

Jeff Rutherford: Today was one of the most profoundly Inspiring days of my life! It was almost overwhelming. I was in the place where everything that is our Country has been done. The Power was Incredible. I am proud of the service I gave to my country. And today I was given the honor to walk the halls and be in the rooms that have witnessed the most important decisions made in our country. And even the world. It was humbling and exhilarating, scary and wonderful, and i was Proud! It's hard to describe what it was like. Everything was perfect, and in good working order. The people working were the absolute professionals and incredibly nice. I was able to be inside the building that has seen Elvis, Abraham Lincoln, JFK, Teddy Roosevelt, Mohammed Ali, the Queen of England, the Heads of State to almost every Nation since it was built. It has been burnt to the ground and re built but the walls have always been there. The walls have heard death and children playing. Goats have lived and dogs have played. every war except one has been played out in it. Peace has been kept and won, all for a simple idea. "For the People by the People." I saw the desk that was used to sign the Civil rights act and help organize NASA. National parks were made on it and Nixon resigned. Winston Churchill was there and the room that witnessed the death of Osama bin laden and Benghazi. Terrible and Amazing things happened in it and it made me feel...everything! I was in the White House! IT WAS SO FREAKING AWESOME

DJ H: While we didn't really plan to visit the White House Visitors Center, it was an enjoyable experience. We we're actually just looking for a rest room and we were told by the White House Park staff to go to the White House Visitor Center. This place is free to visit and has many interesting item to see that once belonged inside the White House or were once gifts to previous US Presidents from other nations. I would recommend coming here.

Axel Müller: Nice visitor center with much information about the White House (presentation boards, information boards, cinema show and so on).A gift shop is also on site where you can buy a lot of souvenirs and other things. At the entrance you have to pass a security check.

Chuck: Security folks friendly but professional. Tours are self guided. Facility is amazing... as one would expect of the home of our head of state. Amazing amount of history, but you have to bring your own resources, as the secret service agents, with one amazing exception, volunteered no information.

Carlos Aguiluz: Great place to learn about the history of the White House. Really enjoyed the amount of artifacts that this center had, not too overwhelming if you have small kids.

See DC Today: what do users think?

branmorris21: Best way to start our DC vacation. Kareem navigated the streets with ease. And Steve was very informative on everything we were touring. They both were easy to talk to and answered all our questions without a boring explanation. The night was clear and not too busy for the beginning of the holiday weekend. Highly recommend this small group night tour. The price is worth it. Loved it. Thanks guys.
Response: We'll let the team know how much you enjoyed it - and we agree- taking our tour at the very beginning of a visit really puts it all in perspective. Many thanks for the 5 Star review!

Stephanie Matthews: Booked the night tour for the first evening we were in Washington DC. We arrived at meeting place to be greeted by our driver as well as the tour guide. What a wonderful informative experience for my party of three. We appreciated the small group individuality. The driver Kareem as well as tour guide Andrew Evans took the time to answer all questions for my nine year one grandson. They were very cautious when driving, provided water, device charging, and gave so much info at each stop. They allowed plenty of time to explore and even took photos of guest in front of the sites. The tour lasted over 3 hours. The tour guide would walk around with each small group etc., while the driver waited close by ready for pick up. Very impressed with details provided including personal stories and his love for his job and each monument. I would highly recommend for anyone wanting a tour of DC.
Response: Andrew is a former teacher and it shows! We truly enjoyed reading your review- we'll let the team know. Safe travels!

Andyrea Mahon: Cassie and Kareem were absolutely the best guide/driver we could have asked for! So knowledgeable about all the monuments. Cassie relayed information in an exciting and engaging way. I wish she could narrate all of our time in DC! They had cold water for us throughout. Kareem even went and got more ice cold water for our group when we ran low. We learned so much and didn’t want it to end. I would 100% recommend See DC tours!

Chaz Arnold: My wife and I cannot say enough good things about this tour. First of all, the small group size provides an engaging, intimate experience that is much unlike many of the other tours we witnessed during our excursion. The driver, Kareem, was knowledgeable about the city and one of the most genuine people you will ever meet. Our guide, Kassie, was spectacular; she communicated a lot of information about the sights. On several occasions, she answered questions we had about the monuments as if she were reading our minds. Very entertaining. Seeing DC monuments lit up at night is an experience unlike any other. The travel van was comfortable and the provided water were much appreciated. Finally, we appreciated the dinner recommendation made by our guide following the tour. This experience was well worth the time and money.
Response: DC's monuments lit up at night are definitely magical. We'll let Cassie and Kareem know how much you enjoyed their Small Group Mall night tour. Many thanks for the 5 star review!

Heidi McQuade: Ron and Edrick were fantastic! There is no way we would have seen as much as we did in the little time we were here, and we are very appreciative of their knowledge. I would highly recommend See DC Today to anyone sightseeing, especially for first timers. Note: there is still quite a bit of walking and being on your feet because you leave the van at every stop.
Response: Thanks so much for your 5 Star review - we'll let the team know! We appreciate your taking the time to share your insights with our other guests especially during the busy summer season. Safe travels!

Shari N: Great tour! The small group format made for a fun, personal experience. Steve was a fun and knowledgeable tour guide and Edrick got us around town safely with a great sense of humor. I highly recommend this tour.
Response: We thank you for your 5 Star review. We'll let Steve and Edrick know. We are always tweaking our small group format for both our day and night tour. Come back and see us again soon!

J D: The hop on hop off night tour was amazing! Dustin was knowledgeable and was funny too! No way we would have seen all these sights on our own. Would highly recommend!
Response: Thanks so much for this review- We'll let Dustin know you enjoyed both his his commentary AND how he fit in all the sites in just 3 hours.

John Maty: Though the longest day of year; party of 6 totally enjoyed tour. Picked this company based on STOPs at best Monuments vs others that do driveby. Prompt pickup. Our driver Dustin had a wealth of information not only of the various Monuments but other Washingtonian tidbits.
Response: We thank you for your great review of Dustin's tour - and, we agree, the longest day of the year can be a challenge in DC heat but happy to hear that Dustin kept your group moving through the Mall monuments! We appreciate your 5 Star review and we'll let Dustin know.

Ki Anna: The Best tour out there. Larry was an awesome driver as he navigated thru DC .. and Steve was the most knowledgeable and professional tour guide ever! Will definitely do again.
Response: We'll let Larry and Steve know you enjoyed their teamwork! Thanks for the 5 Star review. Safe travels!

Nick Myers: Amazing tour for anyone who wants a personal and fun look at the monuments of DC. Our driver Steve was professional all around and got us across the city safely, and our guide, Kory, was really fun and obviously passionate about the area’s history. I was not looking for a deeply sanitized tour with guides who sound like they’re reading off of plaques at the monuments, and fortunately that’s not what I got. I recommend this bus tour for those who like to ask deeper questions about the Capitol’s history and get immediate answers, those who want something beyond the typical tourist experience, and those who want to be truly guided through DC and its intricacies rather than simply taken to photo-ops. Excellent experience all around!
Response: Nick, Thank you for taking the time to leave such an awesome review!!! Glad to hear that you not only enjoyed your tour but the whole experience. Thanks again. Safe Travels!

Nonpartisan Pedicab: what do users think?

Steve Miscavish: Our evening tour with Robert was the highlight of a great trip to DC with our little ones. We booked a (same day) tour to see the monuments at night. The tour far exceeded our expectations and ended up being our favorite part of the entire trip. Our kids had so much fun that they wanted to book another tour with Robert, but we ran out of time. We really enjoyed hearing the stories and the history behind the monuments and landmarks that we saw. Robert was super friendly, knowledgeable and patient, even when our kids were asking silly questions. We had a lot of fun and would highly recommend the tour with Robert.
Response: Thank you for your wonderful review, Steve. Questions from kids, whether silly or serious, always make for a fun tour. I’m so pleased you all enjoyed so much.

Joe Leahy: Robert set up a great tour for our family and Don and Pat - our guides on bikes shared their expertise as former US History teachers from the area! This was the best way to start our week in DC. Both were informative, caring and helpful. We would do again!
Response: Thank you for your wonderful review, Joe. The pleasure was all ours.

Ashley Pedersen: We thoroughly enjoyed our experience with Nonpartisan Pedicabs in early April 2022. Robert and Bob took us on a tour of the monuments and memorials of the National Mall on one day, and then Pennsylvania Avenue and Capitol Hill the next day. They were extremely knowledgeable, accommodating, courteous, and fun! Robert knew just where to capture some beautiful family photos and both had significant insight into the area. It was wonderful for my children and my older parents to be able to get off their feet and just enjoy the surroundings. We saw much more than we would have been able to had we done it any other way. Robert was also very accommodating with the weather forecast, being willing to reschedule for more optimal weather. He was very willing to answer any questions I had about DC and gave advice on what to see and how to get there. In my opinion Nonpartisan Pedicabs is the ultimate way to tour DC, and we were very happy to be able to enjoy their tours. Thank you Robert and Bob!
Response: Thank you for a wonderful review, Ashley. Bob and I both enjoyed spending time on tour with your family. I am a pleased that everyone enjoyed so much.

ketan vinod: My parents have difficulty walking long distances. Nonpartisan Pedicab was the perfect service to use specially around D.C. as you can't drive to those monuments. Robert was very and prompt to arrange pedicab for my parents. Robert shared detailed information on where to meet, park, guide details etc. Our guide Don was amazing, knowledgeable, friendly and punctual. My parents had a blast for 2 hours. I would say it was little steep from price point of view but it was worth it as we went there on Saturday evening around while Cherry blossom 🌸.
Response: Thank you, Ketan, for your wonderful review. I’m so glad that your parents were here just in time to see the Cherry blossoms in full bloom.

Kristi Frush: Customized and personalized exactly to your wishes in touring the main sights of Washington, DC! Don't hesitant to book!! Worth the cost... absolutely!!!! Robert was an excellent tour guide for my daughter, son-in- law and granddaughter. They were visiting from SC, so this was the perfect gift to them. Robert was so accommodating along with being the perfect guide with a wealth of information. My husband and I look forward to booking a tour for ourselves. Thank you, Robert!!!
Response: Thank you, Kristi, for your wonderful review. I had a great time on tour with your family. I’m so pleased everyone enjoyed so much.

Reginald Julius: May 5, 2022, Nonpartisan Pedicab Tour Prior to visiting Washington DC, I scheduled a Nonpartisan Pedicab tour. Our tour started from our Hotel, The District by Hilton. We had no plan of where we wanted to start. We had a discussion of which memorials we wanted to see. Robert our tour guide kept our desires in mind and our tour was underway. My wife and I quickly realized Robert is extremely knowledgeable of not only the monuments but also the history of Washington itself. We were able to stop and walk about each Memorial visited. Robert gave us a detailed narration concerning what we were about to visit. Our tour traveled the length of the National Mall ending at the White House. I highly recommend this tour as it proved to be informative by a very gifted guide. Thank You Robert for a fantastic day!! Our meal at The Old Ebbitt Grill was delicious.
Response: Thank you, Reggie, for a wonderful review. It was truly my pleasure to conduct your tour of Washington DC. I’m so pleased you and your wife enjoyed.

Anupurba Roy: I used this service for a tour of the Tidal Basin with my 69 year old arthritic mother who struggles to walk long distances. Our guide Reed was not only very knowledgeable about DC and the monuments on the National Mall, but he was extremely considerate about helping my mother in and out of the cab and helping us take photos. Going around by pedicab is the perfect way to see the monuments relatively up close for people with accessibility issues. It is of course expensive, but in my opinion worth it for your loved ones with mobility issues. Highly recommend.
Response: Thank you so much for your wonderful review, Anupurba. It’s always our goal to provide accessibility to all the memorials in the nation’s capital. I’m so pleased that you all enjoyed the tour.

Mandy Bush: Those with limited mobility can rejoice! Robert has got your back. He will drive you right up to thr monuments and can even bungee cord your chair or crutches to his cab! And he knows all the things about DC. It's incredible. Super nice guy. Genuinely cares about his clients and does what he can to make the visit more memorable. He even spent a few minutes trying to understand why my mobility is limited and how he can help next time! It's not cheap but it's worth it. Go at sunset if you can. ♡
Response: Thank you for your wonderful review, Mandy. I had a great time on tour with you and your kids.

Carolyn Rathburn: Celebrating mother’s 94th birthday during peak cherry blossom week. This was the perfect gift for parents to enjoy DC without the stress of crowds and mobility issues. Robert met us in a convenient location for drop off and pick up and where we could park. He provided a personal tour of monuments and tidal basin. They loved it! Thank you.
Response: Thank you, Carolyn, for a wonderful review. It was my pleasure to tour the monuments with your parents. I’m so pleased the enjoyed the tour so much.

Kelsey Castro: This tour was the highlight of our trip to DC! Robert helped us set up the tour the night before and recommended a central/easy location to park downtown. We loved learning about the history of the area. This was a great way to see the national mall/monuments with our dog on a hot day.
Response: Thank you very much for your wonderful review, Kelsey. I had a great time on tour with you all today.

Big Bus Tours Washington DC: what do users think?

C.B. Ballew: Loved the Night Tour! Pick a day when the weather is in the low 70’s - it was perfect! The driver was really nice and helpful. The route the bus takes is organized so that you see a Georgetown and buildings that you need to see in the light before the sun goes down. Then you travel to the Lincoln Memorial and the Reflecting Pool as night falls. Perfect!! Take this tour - no downsides at all.
Response: C.b. Ballew, reviews like this give us motivation and help us ensure we provide high-quality care.

Ashley Beth: Fabulous tour and a really fun and informative way to see the DC area! The signage and pickup locations were clearly marked so we knew right where to go (to get on the bus and at any of the drop-off points as well). They had headphones for our family of five and the info on the narration was interesting, relevant, and entertaining. The bus departed on time and returned on time. Ms. Gale was an outstanding tour guide and she knew all the fun, quirky tidbits of information that made our night tour of the DC area extra special. Highly recommend!
Response: Thank you Ashley! So informative and helpful. We loved having your family on board with us!

Holli Allen Magill: What a fabulous experience. These friendly and very accommodating people really go out of their way to make sure you have the best experience. Frederick was so kind and helpful.. Our bus driver even dropped us right at our hotel! Thanks for a great time, definitely recommend this tour.
Response: We are so happy you enjoyed the experience. Thank you for pointing out Frederick's service to your group. He is one of the groups of stars that shine bright for us. Please come back and visit with us again!

Roger & Ashley Freese: This is one of the best experiences I have had in DC in the many years I've been visiting. Ms. Gayle was amazing and gave us plenty of time to snap good photos as well as take in the scenery. It's really amazing the amount of growth the area has seen through Georgetown and Reston as well as the additions in D.C.
Response: Roger and Ashley; Thank you for sharing these wonderful photos. It’s so lovely to see our guests thriving and sharing their experiences here! Take care!

Samantha Carp: None of our busses had AC at the bottom and I really wish they drove threw the Arlington cemetery like I thought but they just pull up & drop you off. Then they was 45mins late picking a stop up & my mother almost missed her flight because we expected to be back by our car in time to drop her off and I tried contacting the Big bus company but they said there was nothing they could do & didn't know why it was late.
Response: Hi Samantha Carp thank you for taking the time to leave us your honest feedback.

Jamie Lowe: We had a 2 day pass and evening tour. All experiences were great! Highly recommend evening tour. A beautiful glimpse of the city and all its landmarks. Staff was friendly and helpful. Gregory at Spy Museum stop was super friendly and entertaining. A shout out to Romero who remembered my grandson at every stop he saw us…both days! Romero made him feel like he had a friend in an unfamiliar place. Great experience for us!
Response: Jamie Lowe, we are so pleased you enjoyed your visit to Big Bus Tours Washington D.C.!

Jodie Martin: We have used Big Bus Tours in several cities throughout the US and have never been disappointed! DC tour was fantastic! You have to keep in mind DC can have closures for different reasons so just download the app and check to see if any events are happening and if there is a slow doen for pickup. You can literally watch the buses on the app. Some stops may be closed for sifferent reasons, again, doenload the app it will tell you. All employees are so friendly and very helpful! Gregory was very upbeat, friendly, and just a top notch nice man. We watched him stop traffic for a girl on crutches who was trying to cross the street. Night tour is a MUST!! You see several different things that aren't on the day hop on hop off. It includes a stop at the Lincoln monument and the entire city is beautiful at night. We were lucky enough to have Ms. Gale for our night tour and she was the best!!! Lots of fun and very entertaining! We will definitely be recommending to others for their visits and will continue using big bus tours!
Response: Jodie! Your pictures are fabulous! What courage to place your vision on this forum. Thanks for the encouraging feedback. Please refer us to family and friends. We appreciate your support!

Miranda: I bought the Groupon that included hop on and hop off for 48 hours and a night ride tour! Worth every penny! Easy to use. You go to one of the stops to have them print your tickets and then you can start riding. Download the app because you can see where the buses are in real time. We waited on more than 20 minutes at a stop for another bus to arrive. The bus wasn’t crowded at all. They supply headphones to listen to a recording about the monuments as the bus passes them. The night tour was awesome!! Easiest way to see the parts outside of Washington DC such as the pentagon, Georgetown, downtown Arlington. Be sure to tip your driver!! 💵
Response: Miranda: We are so grateful for your experience. We especially appreciate the detailed information you left here. It was a pleasure to read your kind review. Take care and we look forward to seeing you again.

Mack Ivy: Our tickets were purchased Monday for Thursday night tour and said "meeting time 07:45 PM" and we arrived in line before that. Gregory was talking at front of the line, but us at the back could not hear him. I had my hand up for several minutes to ask him to repeat what he was saying but he indicated that he would answer me later. Later never came, and after several busses were full at the top, Gregory finally spoke to us at the end of the line and told us to return tomorrow. We are leaving town tomorrow, so that was not an option. He told us to sit on the bottom of the bus. I can post some very disappointing photos at ground level with cars in the way or monuments on the other side of the bus and passenger heads in the way. Our bus Dionte did his best to make the most of a situation that he did not create. This was my son's only chance to see the monuments at night and I don't know how the BigBus management can make it up to us since they obviously overbooked the busses and our views were blocked throughout the tour.
Response: Mack Ivy, we pride ourselves on providing exceptional service, so we are disappointed to hear that your visit with us was anything less than satisfactory. With the unprecedented concert and last minute security plan reveal, we were forced to close last minute. If we had known this prior to, we certainly would not have sold tickets or promoted service. We attempted to run as long as we could until local authorities shut down the roads. Thank you for the feedback.

Greg Burkett: Vida was a great tour guide on our bus. She took family photos of us and gave us tips when asked of DC food and sites.
Response: Greg!!! These photos are absolutely beautiful. You have a real gift! Thank you for allowing us to be a part of your wonderful experience with your family. Vida is a true professional in our employ. We are glad to have her!!

Discover DC Pedicab Tours: what do users think?

Angel Jones: Shaady was an absolute pro! Our schedule was up in the air and she worked us in last minute. She had a wealth of fun trivia and conversation topics, took us to a great selection of monuments and sights, and took photos of the whole experience. We found her on Bring Fido, and our pup had as much fun as we did. Highly recommend.

Az Mobile Pool Service: Alex was the man. Picked us up in just about freezing temperatures on Sunday night at 8pm with a smile. Great knowledge and experience

Isabela Paz: Positive: ValueDiscover DC Tours is a wonderful experience! My friends and I were carried by such an enthusiastic woman. We sang songs, had great convos, and laughed the whole ride! It felt like one of those moments you knew you will be nostalgic for. I recommend it 100000% ✅Service: Private tours

Kung Fu Brush: Shaady was super nice to my sister and me, and gave us an in-depth tour of DC's monuments and interesting sights. She even recommended a good Ramen place. I found her through Tripadvisor, and she really cared about our experience. I can recommend her tour company without reservations!

F. manan: Five stars for this tour! By way of introduction, my mom and I hail from the west coast and this trip was to be our First Ever Epic Mother-Daughter Bondathon in Our Nation's Capital (cue reverberating monster truck rally announcer voice). Naturally, we put a great deal of planning into our family-time travel extravaganza, departing California armed with an itinerary listing an intimidating number of must-see attractions. Sadly, we lost the initial sight seeing battle to an unexpected foot injury which rendered me lame as a Florida lawn flamingo's shadow in silhouette. Fortunately, we emerged victorious after stumbling (figuratively this time) across Nonpartisan Pedicab during an online search. Our secret weapon was Yashar, a One-Man-Malitia of Mental and Muscle Endurance, who served double duty as tour guide extraordinaire and transportation guru. Yashar delivered his tour narrative (an engaging combination of humorous/informative anecdotal, historical, political, and architectural details) in a conversational manner that never came across as disingenuous in the way that overly rehearsed narratives are sometimes wont to do. Yashar went above and beyond by also inviting us to observe specific city views in order to compare them to historic photographs that depicted mirror images taken from across the ages. For us, these photo comparison opportunities served to poignantly underscore the way that the story of America's past is both hidden within, and integrated into, the patchwork of DC's ever evolving landscape. Where applicable, Yashar also invited us to view depictions of original or alternate design proposals for some of the city's most beloved and iconic monuments and buildings (the Jefferson Memorial). These design comparisons provided us with an equally intriguing window into the world of what might have been. Yashar remained a patient and affable guide throughout the tour, despite (or in spite of) the sweltering 95 degree heat. In true American spirit, we were given the liberty to set our own tour agenda that, armed with our trusty itinerary, we tailored in accordance with our desired pace and priorities. Robert proved a willing vacation photographer and we thank him for contributing his compositions to our family photo alblum (cloud file?). I suppose it would be poor review etiquette if I failed to note that, as personal guided tours in popular destination cities go, Discover Dc Pedicab Tours is a reasonably priced option that is particularly well suited to the needs of limited mobility tourists. **As an, admittedly partisan, side-note: Pedicab tours are one of the few enviornmentally friendly methods of sight seeing. l heartily recommend them as an effective means of mitigating the weight of any latent air-travel emissions guilt baggage you may be lugging around the Capital, or anywhere you travel. **As an, arguably non-partisan, side-note: Nonpartisan Pedicab is a small business and Yashar is clearly a dedicated and hard working pedicab tour guide! We should all be supporting small business in local communities as recognition regarding the value of that support appears, based my limited experience, to be one of the few remaining issues that even the partisan are happily made party to. Cheers Yashar, thank you for helping me overcome the limitations of my inner flamingo and for helping this (not) walking mother-daughter disaster team to check all of DC's best and brightest off our bucket lists.

shushu Fakhrai: Discover Dc Pedicabs was our choice above all others - walking, cab, Uber, public transit, or the dreaded "find a parking spot for yourself" challenge. Their pricing was very fair, and their customer service is off the charts. Joe Brophy, the GM of the company, answered so many noob questions of mine (I'd never been to Washington), and ultimately, set us up with Bogi one of their best tour guides/drivers, for an hour-long tour of the National Mall, from the Washington Monument to the Lincoln Memorial. Rob is a tremendous gentleman with outstanding character, and a showman's spirit! His knowledge and humor about DC is wonderful, and we were highly entertained as well as educated as to what we were seeing on our way along the Mall. I cannot recommend this company enough - and if you get a chance, ask for Bogi- he's awesome!

Nahal Robertson: Discover DC Tours led a fantastic tour of the Monuments & White House for my out of town guests during my wedding weekend. They arrived on time to the hotel to pick up my guests. My guests loved the experience! The tour guides were friendly and engaging. They made history fun. I definitely recommend this for any future wedding couple with out of town guests. It’s entertaining and a different experience for your guests. It takes little effort to book & coordinate because Discover DC Tours is quick to respond and has lots of experience with groups.

Marissa Starkie: Positive: QualityFirst time visiting DC on my own and I was able to see so much in just a short amount of time. She was very knowledgeable about the city and the history. Super personable and a joy to converse with during the tour. Would definitely refer and tour again!Service: City tours
Response: thanks!!!

Kurt LaFlamme: The tour was awesome for our family me and my two kids absolutely loved it they even got some trivia questions right and they learned stuff and we got souvenirs! last year we went on the Christmas tree tour and we got to see the capital Christmas tree some pretty lights downtown and we ended at the White House Christmas tree. We came back to DC to visit my nephew and decided to do it again in November for Thanksgiving around time because we’re here in town again. It was one of the only things that was open and super Covid friendly out in the open air my kids even got blankets and my wife and I well we got wasted and it was great we got some on the go alcoholic adult beverages that embellished our enthusiastic and amazing tour. Great for family great for kids I highly recommend two thumbs up! Service: Private tours

Newsha Talebi: I had always seen pedicabs around but never took a tour with one. Even though I'm a DC resident, I loved taking a tour around the monuments with Discover DC. The owner/Cab driver Shaady was so personable and made our ride so fun. Our visitors loved touring DC this way also because it gave them a chance to see all the sites without having to walk or worry about driving and finding parking etc. Weather you are from out of town and here to visit or a local, I highly recommend them.
Response: Thank you!
