Historic America: what do users think?

Joseph Eakle: Visited Washington DC with a family group of 9. We had the pleasure of spending 6 hours with Aaron for 2 different tours. We did a nighttime Whitehouse Neighborhood/Monument tour and a day time monument tour. We never would have covered as much ground and learned as much as we did without Aaron. He kept everyone engaged, from the adults to my 4 year old daughter. I can’t say enough about him and the tours. They were the highlight of our trip to DC!

Evelyn Avanesian: Aaron is a spectacular guide. Fun, funny, and so knowledgeable. He kept our 8th graders engaged and well organized. Would definitely do a trip with him again! Even having lived in DC for over a decade, I saw and learned things I never knew.

Tarm: Aaron took us on a 5 day trip through Washington D.C with around 25 kids. He was able to keep everyone engaged, and was able to avoid all the lines. Aaron is a great guy, super funny and very entertaining. Super knowledgeable, and had everything ready for us. Made sure we were well informed, and cared for each one of us. Our tour was awesome, visited many spots, and made sure we had the best experience. Would definitely recommend Aaron to anyone who wants a fun, entertaining and great trip!

Jessica Harrington: My husband and I attended the Sunrise Cherry Blossom Tour today and it was the perfect way to start our Sunday morning. If you want an inspiring and educational experience complete with stunning views WITHOUT the crowd and traffic, then this is it.

Gabrielle Chambliss: Aaron was a blast to have on our 6th grade trip to Washington. He was very knowledgeable and interacted with the kids. His planning of our 4 days made everything so much easier and we saw a lot! Will definitely book with him again!

Each 1 Teach 1 Foundation: Our tour guide Aaron was with us for 4 days and was phenomenal! Not only was he knowledgeable and very personable but he also was patient with our group of 61 and flexible throughout the tours. We will be rebooking him in a different city in the near future!

Megan Miller: When I was planning our family trip to Washington DC, I researched tour guides. I interviewed five and picked Aaron. He accompanied us for 2 half days visiting the sites we had identified as important. He customized his approach and content for our group, our ages, and our interests. He never ran out of content and his delivery was warm, engaging, and so interesting. He shares information through telling stories and his level of knowledge is astounding. Our time with him thoroughly enriched our trip and I could not recommend him any more highly than I am. He is a 10 and will exceed your expectations.

Ashley Alderfer: I have had the pleasure of experiencing 2 tours with Historic America, and both were fantastic! Aaron is a smart, engaging guide with a vast knowledge of history and a passion for his craft. He is a master story teller, and goes above and beyond to provide a rich and immersive experience. Living in Washington, it is easy to become complacent about the history that surrounds you, but Aaron is able to bring the city to life, crafting an experience that connects you with the history of the place but is also personal and intimate. I’d recommend his tour to anyone visiting Washington looking for an enriching gateway not just to the city, but to our national history.

Old Town Trolley Tours Washington DC: what do users think?

Natalia Mednikov: This tour was amazing! The guide was full of knowledge. Don’t miss out. A 1,5 hour tour that goes by fast. We stopped off to see some very impressive and important monuments. I cannot say enough about the beautiful and well planned tour. It was a perfect experience. All the staff who work for this company are very friendly.

Quynh Tran: Mike G. (From Boston) was the best tour guide I’ve ever had. He was very knowledgeable and knew everything. I he was like a human google of Washington DC (or history in general)! It was a little chilly but it was a great start to DC and knowing the general areas before the rest of your trip. Our guide was very accommodating and left no man behind. Highly recommend!

Laura Oliver: Positive: Professionalism, Quality, Responsiveness, ValueMoonlight trolley tour is fabulous! If you are short on time in DC and want to see a lot and hear a lot about the city, this is your best bet! We booked our school tour through Abe in group sales who made everything so easy! Hollywood was our tour guide and was awesome! Definitely the highlight of our visit!

Susie Anson: Hey **Mr. History" , best driver ever. So beautiful by night. And re-learning great American history while seeing gorgeous memorial at night ... Not to be missed Fall is the best to walk around and tour. 😉

Donna Hensley: I wish there were 5 more stars I could give Old Town Trolley! The personalized narration by knowledgeable, friendly drivers are always the rule.

KB Tours: what do users think?

Alana Brooks: Mr. Kenny is a great tour guide. He tells you the history of the area, and weaves in the Black history of everything he shows you. We went on the tour while there was major road closures for an event, and Mr. Kenny still got us where we needed to go. This tour is unique because you go through historically Black neighborhoods that most tours don’t take you to. I definitely recommend supporting this Black owned business.

Nitza Negron: Great tour! You get picked up in a very nice Mercedes Van with AC, Kenny takes you around, gives you history and also let’s you get out at a few places to take pics like Lincoln and MLK Memorial. We ended the tour with tickets to the African American Museum which was amazing!

Susan Marshall: Absolutely the best! Mr. Kenny was very professional and knowledgeable! I would do this tour again! I recommend anyone visiting DC to check out KB TOURS!

Nancy Nyberg: What a blast! Wanted to see the National Museum of African American History and Culture and no tickets for our time in DC. KB tours offers a wonderful tour of DC, by coach, that starts at the Naval Museum and ends at the AA History Museum. Also includes stops at the Lincoln Memorial, MLK memorial, Fredrick Douglass’ house (“...has done an amazing job...”), Civil War memorial. Kenny, the owner and guide, is very knowledgeable, funny and insightful. A life-long resident of DC, he knows and loves his city and his country. Definitely recommend seeing DC Kenny’s way.

Monica Williams: KB Tours is the best. They are passionate about the history of Washington, D.C. and know hidden facts about the monuments that you will not know visiting on your own. Jamal was our tour guide and he provided excellent service. Mr. Kenny Burns thank you!

Jandie's Channel: My family hired KBTours for our family reunion. I have lived in the Washington D.C. area for 15 years but KBTours showed us and taught us about some many historical locations that I had never even heard of and certainly had never been to. Kenny has an encyclopedia in his head when it comes to Washington D.C. and the rich history that is here. When I had to add a lot more family members to my tour with short notice, Kenny graciously and very quickly procured an addition tour bus for us at a very reasonable price. A lot of my family said that the tour was one of the best parts of our family reunion that year. I would not hesitate to hire KBTours again. All of the drivers and tour guides were excellent!!

Eve Byford-Peterson: The Carson, Lewis Rousseau Family reunion utilized KB Tours on June 22nd and were extremely pleased with our tour. Ms. Sandra, our tour guide, was the greatest and so knowledgeable. We found the whole trip to be an uplifting, educational and enjoyable experience. Recommend it highly.

USA Guided Tours: what do users think?

Rebekah Diaz: Did the night tour with Mr Map! It was great to stop at so many places and take photos. I do wish that the tour guide would have come off the bus to tell us about the different landmarks instead of staying on the bus. It was beautiful to see all the monuments lit up—different than the daytime sights. We chose the closed climate controlled instead of open top because it was rather cold at night (in late April!)! Would recommend.

Vanessa Losey: Thanks for making my dad bday that much more memorable! My dad a senior citizen and the pace was perfect for him, including all the bathroom breaks and patience. Thank you Terry for a tour to remember and for signing to my dad happy birthday!!! Memories to last a lifetime. His service dog loved it too!!!

Teresa Simmons: We took the DC tour on Sunday. Nick was our guide. The tour was a great way to see the sights and learn interesting facts. Nick loves his job and it shows! He was funny and informative! Highly recommend Nick and the 6 hour DC day tour. We had and amazing time!!

Suzanne: We took the dusk to dark, open top bus tour, and it was well worth it! The small group allowed for a much more personalized experience. It was obvious to us that our guide, Nick, truly enjoys his job, and that adds to the experience. He was friendly, knowledgeable and has a great sense of humor, all of which added up to a very comfortable, enjoyable tour! He made it feel like we had a long time friend showing us the many sites. Definitely recommend this tour!

Bianca Moskaitis: Nick the @tourgod was one of the most amazing tour guides I’ve ever experienced! His knowledge and charisma made us feel so comfortable. He kept us laughing and on time! He was just a delightful and I’m so glad we got to experience him today! The Mercedes’ sprinter is a beautiful site to see while traveling down Constitution ave and Pennsylvania ave. Such a luxurious site to see🎉🎊 I’m so excited to take another tour with them in the spring! Here are come Loudoun VA wine country 🍷

Tricia Barr: We had a fabulous experience with Alicia as our tour guide and Thomas as our driver. We enjoyed a very informative 6-hour tour with Potomac River cruise. The best compliment was given by my ten year old daughter who is often reluctant to join historical and sight-seeing tours and would far prefer a spring break at a theme park. She said, “I learned so much about my country and I loved learning about all of the hidden meanings of the monuments.” As a parent, I was so happy that she loved the symbolism and significance of all that DC had to offer! Thank you to Alicia for your positive energy and sharing your extensive knowledge of our Nation’s capital!

Shari S: Nick and our driver were awesome. Very knowledgeable. Highly recommend. I took borh the day and the night tour with this company. I highly recommend using this tour company. Parking can be a little difficult and further away then the tour can get you. I am so glad I signed up for these tours. I will make sure to let everyone I know going to any city they service to use them.

Joseph McIntyre: Originally scheduled the daytime tour with the riverboat cruise. Had to change due to flight delays and a mix up with rental cars. They were very accommodating and allowed us to switch the tour last minute to the night tour. Our tour guide, Nick was very knowledgeable and entertaining. Thanks so much for the memories!

Lisa Hayes: Great tour that I would highly recommend. Curtis was our driver and nick was our tour guide. Very knowledgeable and had plenty of time at all the stops. They had just taken down the fences at the capitol so we were able to go on the lawn. We did the night tour and they picked us up at our hotel which was perfect since I had just had some foot surgery and walking was difficult. Would recommend this tour to everyone and Great price.

Paula Jasinski: Our group recently took the Drinking History tour and loved it! We’d been to DC many many times before but Bo told us stories we’d never heard before. He also took us to places that we’d somehow overlooked. Great history, hysterical stories, and a slew of drinks- what more could you ask for? Do yourself a favor and sign up for one of these tours! P

Becky Trullinger: My family took the Arlington Cemetery walking tour last weekend. Bo’s knowledge of it’s history and story telling was fantastic. His Southern charm and sense of humor kept us spellbound and entertained. Just wish we had time to take all of his tours.

Lyndsay Sims: Such a wonderful experience! Bo, was informative, engaging and interactive with our group. I learned a lot of fun and interesting facts about DC. I would highly recommend this tour!

Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History: what do users think?

Luke Chang: Free museum. Great for kids. Lots of interesting exhibits. I went during Cherry Blossom 🌸 peak week so it was pretty crowded on a Saturday. I spent 3+ hours exploring. There’s 3 floors. Definitely recommend. There something for everyone.

Ashok Patel: This is one of the most visited and most popular museums in the world and it’s free (of course from our tax money). The museum has the largest natural history collection (145 million specimens) in the world. It is really interesting, informative and fun to delve into the story of our planet from the beginning and how the life evolved over a period of time. There are excellent exhibits for kids as well for all ages of people. Unfortunately, there is no public parking facility there. If you are lucky, you may get the metered parking otherwise you have to park in the commercial parking garages nearby. There is nice cafeteria with great food in the museum. There are lots of food trucks outside the museum serving variety of food. I loved the exhibit of minerals and gems. There are so amazing pieces of gems and rocks, I bet you have never seen before. There is so much to see that you can’t finish in one day. Some of the exhibits we even didn’t explore due to time constraints. But we will definitely go back and enjoy the same or remaining exhibits. It was busy but not too crowded, we didn’t have to fight for the space. May be it was a weekday, so it wasn’t too bad. This is a must see attraction in Washington DC.

Sassy Sauce: Great museum for kids and adults. We went on the weekend and it was packed with people but we were able to move around with moderate congestion. The gift store was reasonable and there was some unique items available. For the little ones, I would bring a stroller if you’re up to pushing it because their legs will get tired. There were places to sit but they weren’t plentiful. The food court was open but we didn’t purchase anything. You can bring your own goods and water inside the museum. There is plenty to see and read for everyone. Highly recommend for families with small kids (probably 2 and up)

Ken Miyakawa: For me was the most impressive collections of specimens from around the world I was able to see I can spend the whole day in here and not be able to watch everything. The dinosaurs bones was my favorite part this place is definitely for the whole family and I will strongly recommend to visit it! This will be in my top five favorite museums for sure. The only thing is they close at 5:30 pm I wish they close later because I will need at least Two full days to cover the whole place.

bEp pen: Great museum, fun and informative for all ages, children and adults alike. So much to see. Give yourself a few hours to take in how much there is here. In addition to the Hope Diamond, there is an extensive gem and minerals exhibit. There is something for everyones interest. Best of all, the admission is free! We had planned on seeing both the Natural History museum and the American History Museums of the Smithsonian, but had time for just one that day. Will go back and do the same to properly explore just as we did at the Natural History Museum. It is centrally located from the other Smithsonian museums and very close walk to Smithsonian Metro Station.

Lu: First time in D.C. and loved visiting this museum. Spent 3hrs here enjoying the exhibits. Nice that it’s free so anyone can go to enjoy learning something new. Gift shop is a must too! If you do make the trip I’d say bring a snack or lunch if you don’t feel like buying food there. Unfortunately the Space and air museum was closed due to construction when I was there.

National Museum of African American History and Culture: what do users think?

Shaniece Heath: 1st time visiting the museum and I highly recommend viewing the Concourse exhibit if you do nothing else. The concourse is where the Emmitt Till exhibit is located and that did have the longest wait time, but more than worth it. There were so many beautiful artifacts and amazing visuals to go along with some of the images and artifacts. The 1st floor when you walk in was also overwhelming hearing the audio of the slaves saying they rather jump ship than travel to an unknown world without their families!

Tamekia Buckner: Was amazing! 2nd floor was closed, so cannot wait until we return. Got free tickets 1 month in advance from their website.

Corey Trusty: It was a good trip to the museum. It was fast and easy to get access. I was able to get tickets the day of for the time I wanted. The museum exhibits were done very well and tastefully. The museum is absolutely huge and I would for shire come back. The only issue is the parking in the National Mall is terrible. But overall good experience. Wear comfortable clothes and shoes because you will for sure be getting your steps in and it is a must go!!!

Melvin Thomas: A great museum. Lots of history. Some of the images and artifacts cause sadness realizing the time span of the atrocities, some of them surprisingly recent. Some exhibits also celebrate black contributions, mostly in sports and entertainment. Maybe they will add more black inventors and contributors to the sciences.

Valencia Brown: This museum totally captures the horrific moments in time that African Americans endored. Its about time there is a historic National museum that acknowledges that that these events in American history did indeed occur, and the role Americans had in the slave trade. The overcoming of oppression, justice and equality is still a fight, however the advances and contributions made in history from African Americans are undeniable. This museum encompass all of this and more! Highly recommend attending. Best of all, its free!

Lily Cates: All white people visits DC should take this tour. I mean… everyone should but white people especially need to come to Anacostia and go for a tour with Don to just listen and take in the stories we all need to hear. Don is an expert historian and a deeply authentic storyteller. I have done a lot of tours and back in the day lots of school trips around DC and this tour is absolutely hands down the best way I’ve ever seen DC. We did the Black History Night Tour and it was legit, it was fun, it was important. Well worth the money, without a doubt.

Nina Hicks: Learned a lot about the History of Washington.

HEATHER MCMANUS: I so loved this tour and the tour guide! We did the Madams of DC tour. Completely fascinating and makes you think about what life was like for women. I highly recommend it.

Jon Psotka: We did the Madams of DC tour. As an area native I had always thought of Federal Triangle as the most boring of neighborhoods, so walking around and learning about its sordid past, right next to the Mall, was an eye-opening experience. Tour guide was fun and knowledgeable. Recommended.

Michael Terracciano: Off The Mall Tours is an informative and entertaining walk through the hidden gems of the DC area. A must for history buffs and lovers of local lore. Highly recommended.

Sex Pistoleros: Great punk tour of DC.

Smithsonian National Museum of American History: what do users think?

Frenite: Incredible museum that features nearly all facets that encompasses American history. There is so much to see and explore that you can’t even do it all in a single day. This museum includes the history of mechanical devises, food culture, transportation history, pop culture, presidential history, and so much more. This museum really has it all. Since it is owned by the Smithsonian, admission is at no charge! It is very clean, accessible, well maintained, and certainly informative and educational for people of all ages. This is a museum that everyone should experience in their lifetime and I would fully recommend going here.

Paul: This is great museum to visit with the family. The layout is great to appreciate all facets of American culture. Highly recommended!! There’s also an area for kids to explore and learn. In addition, they have a cafeteria so you don’t need to leave far for food. A lot of seating as well to sit down and rest. Must visit.

Ben Matthews: This place should be called The Museum of American Everything. A super eclectic collection of what makes America special - from the Star Spangled Banner, to Judy Garland’s ruby red slippers. Be aware that many exhibitions are currently closed for renovation - so if you’re going for anything in particular, do check their website first. Unexpected highlights for me were the transportation exhibits, as well as the Presidential and First Lady sections.

Luke Chang: Free museum. Lots of interesting history, baseball, war, food, ruby red slippers, currency, etc. If you love history, you’ll be here at least half the day. I enjoyed this museum quite a bit. Second time visiting, first time was 10+ years ago. 3 floors of history. Easy access from the metro. Short walk to museum from metro.

MILKOS D SOSA: This is one of my favorite places in Washington DC. If you are an American and have not visited this museum, you have a debt to cover. If you are a visitor in the US and have not visit this museum, you will lose the opportunity to see almost the entire history of this Nation in a single building. The museum is very attractive and dynamic because the rooms show history through the different elements that make up the country. You can see the history of the US through politics, culture, transportation, numismatics, technology, wars, houses, etc. There are three floors full of information about how our nation was founded and how it has developed and grown. My favorite rooms are the Transportation room, the Presidents room and the First Ladies room. I think that the most important and solemn place in the museum is the Start Spangler Banner Room. The flag that inspired the National Anthem is preserved there. It is a unique space that will make you feel great emotion and pride. Without a doubt, this museum is a place that you cannot exclude from your list if you visit DC.

Signature Tours Of DC: what do users think?

Lissa H: Tyrone and Hunter were great tour guides, very friendly and helpful. Tyrone was knowledgeable and interjected a lot of humor into the tour. We had plenty of time to get off the bus and take pictures of the different memorial sights. The water that was available when we got back on the bus was very welcome. I highly recommend taking this trip, it was enjoyable and we learned a lot. Very much worth the cost.

Debbie DelValle: First night in DC, decided to try a monuments tour under the stars. Signature Tours offered hotel pick up and drop off which was an added bonus. Thanks to the very knowledgeable and personable Sally and our excellent driver Chris, the 3 hour tour was time very well spent. I would highly recommend this tour.

Andrew Harmon (Werd69): This tour was on point. We met the bus at 800 Pennsylvania Ave NW no problem. We were loaded on a big tour bus. Our tour guide name was Charles. He was fantastic. He knew so much, I thought he was a retired teacher. We got to see quite a few monuments. When they say 3 hours they mean 3 hours. We got our monies worth and then some. Definitely do this tour if possible.

Emily Ferguson: We did the DC Under the Stars and it was incredible. Sally, our guide, was funny and engaging, and included such interesting info about DC and had a clear speaking voice. Chris, our driver, was also great. Would highly recommend this tour-and during the Spring, everything is simply stunning! Perfect combination of photo ops, history, humor, as well as moments to reflect and remember some of our nation’s most sobering events. The only downside to the tour was that the man loading us onto the bus was terribly rude and gruff for some reason. Also, there is no hotel pickup so plan to get transportation to the National Archives and make sure to arrive early.

Melissa Coulter: Absolutely the BEST DC tour! Fun and so knowledgeable! The kind of tour that you always hope you book! I highly recommend MR.MAP!

Melanie Williamson: My grandson and I had a wonderful tour of DC from Signature Tours. The guide, Dave, pointed out almost every downtown building, history and fun facts. Arriving at the momuments via the bus was perfect! Chris, the driver, safely took us from one location to another. Our 6-hour tour allowed us to see and experience much more than we could have if we had walked.

jen zappulla: I did the all day tour and Vernon and Chris were amazing! Vernon was so knowledgeable about the monuments and had side stories that added to the richness of what we were seeing. Chris maneuvered that bus like a boss, finding alternate routes due to closures and construction. I would highly recommend!!

DC by Foot: what do users think?

Sindys Tavarez: My boyfriend and I took two tours in DC, and Colin’s one (Georgetown) was our favorite. He was very knowledgeable and knew his stuff. It was a mix of architecture and history which was perfect for us, because I’m into architecture/arts and my boyfriend is into history/politics. We loved it.

Joseph Neidenbach: My wife and I took the Georgetown by Foot Tour led by Rebecca. Rebecca did a great job. She was knowledgeable, energetic, friendly and a great representative of our nations capital. I highly recommend this tour. The two hour walk was comfortable. We will take one of these tours the next time we are in DC.

David Matsu: When my wife and I visit new cities we like to take the local "Free Walking Tours." We took the National Mall/Tidal Basin tour with Rebecca and were not disappointed. She took us on a three hour walk, in the rain, and told us all about the history of the monuments. She was well informed, able to answers all questions and taught us a lot. I encourage travelers to take advantage and support the "free tours" especially with a guide like Rebecca.

Lani Slonim: This tour is well planned and well timed and was given by a guide who was personable and knew her history. Ingeborg had fun antidotes and stories that enhanced the understanding of the area in an enjoyable way. Thank you for your efforts!

Jenay Rouimi: We did two great Name Your Price Tours while in Washington - 2 adults and (1) 9 year old. We started with the Arlington Cemetery Tour with Colin and it was excellent. This tour does involve a lot of walking but I highly recommend it. While Arlington does have the trams, I think this tour provides a much more up close (and far less crowded) viewing. Colin was extremely knowledgeable, and he kept us all entertained and informed. We also did the Name Your Price Tour of the Monuments by Moonlight with Emilia. It was an unseasonably cold March night, but it turned out to be a wonderful experience. The monuments were far less crowded then we expected, and the night time view is spectacular and far different from day time. I highly recommend experiencing both ways. Emilia had so much interesting information on the monuments that I have never heard before and I feel much more well rounded and “in the know”.

Elaine Limanek: My friend and I went to the Ghosts of Georgetown tour and we have nothing but good things to say! Our tour guide, Melissa, was charismatic and led us on a thrilling adventure through the streets of Georgetown, where we learned about the history and haunts of the most charming corner of DC. We truly loved every minute and will certainly be back again!

Private Tours of Washington, inc.: what do users think?

Matt Bilitz: Great family tour and an absolutely wonderful experience with PTW! The communication was superb and the treatment before during and after our tour was heartfelt and friendly! This is the best way to see DC!

Julie Rojas: We used Private Tours of Washington to help plan a spring break trip with our 14 y/o grandson Xavier resulting in a most enjoyable and educational vacation. We opted to take a nighttime monument tour (which was amazing) the first night and a day tour the following day. From our initial contact by telephone to our final farewell we were impressed with the level of professional service provided. After booking we were contacted by email and phone to determine exactly what we wanted to cover during our visit, particularly experiences that would be of interest to our grandson. We then received a tentative agenda to review and received several suggestions from Bill (the owner)that would further enrich this custom experience. In addition to highlighting the usual D.C.monuments, he encouraged us to include the Smithsonian’s Udvar-Hazy Center since our grandson is particularly interested in air/space engineering. As our guide for the day he provided a wealth of information, asked and answered questions and was genuinely interested in Xavier’s impression and knowledge of wartime aircraft. Bill interacted extensively with him, even making recommendations on activities/ possible summer internships related to this field. In addition to a very comfortable ride in a luxury SUV with our excellent driver Shake, my husband and I also thoroughly enjoyed conversing with Bill throughout the day. He is a writer and journalist with a keen interest and knowledge regarding the current political scene. We can highly recommend Private Tours of Washington, and would not hesitate to call upon them on future trips to D.C.

Michael Gerber: My family and I planned a trip to Washington for the first week of the new year. We wanted a tour of the city that was private and personalized, and contacted Private Tours of Washington. Bill, the owner, agreed to be our guide. He showed us more of Washington by car and subway (due to street closures) than we could have ever seen on our own. The whole experience was like a close-up view of history in the making. Something we’ll never forget. Service: Private tours

Kassidy Anderson: Exquisite Tour :) I visited D.C. last month with my mom and sister. Our trip with "Private Tours of Washington" was definitely the highlight of our time there! Bill was so knowledgable and kind, and we each felt that we left our beautiful capital city as much more informed and knowledgable people. Mr. Bill made many inquiries on our interests, and he made sure that these interests were expanded upon. He even recommended other stops along our road-trip from Mississippi to D.C., with stops in North Carolina and Pennsylvania. I have traveled to many areas of the world and taken numerous private tours; however, this tour is one of my favorite experiences. I truly feel that the service and quality are unparalleled, and I intend to recommend this company to any of my friends traveling to the area.

Annette Arce: When my co-workers and I had a layover in Washington DC, instead of the usual routine we voted to take a nighttime tour. We went on the internet, compared different companies and picked Private Tours of Washington. I talked to the owner, and he had a driver and tour guide both waiting outside our restaurant with a nice, warm SUV. Everyone had been to DC before, but never had time to be tourists. We had the Lincoln Memorial and other famous monuments all to themselves, with our own expert along to explain everything. PTW turned a winter night in Washington into something special and a very warm memory for all of us.

Alene Cardoza: My boss and his son had a wonderful time in Washington DC thanks to Private Tours of Washington. Bill Thomas and his crew showed them the time of their lives in Washington. The entire staff was very accommodating with a few schedule changes and Irina, Tony, Bah and Bill did such a great job. If you are looking for a class act tour company, this is your best bet! Bill Thomas and his team are a Class Act! Thank you! ~ Alene Cardoza Service: Private tours

Olga Xiroyannis: I used to live in Washington and was back a few weeks go for work. Since it’s been awhile, I decided I might need professional guidance to get reacquainted with some of my favorite places. I called Private Tours of Washington, eventually talking with Bill, the owner, about what I wanted to see. He arranged a three-hour guided tour of Georgetown, DuPont Circle and some other parts of town I’ve always liked. As I hoped, the tour was a real trip down Memory Lane. A lot has changed, but happy to see some things never do, like Kramerbooks still right where I remembered it. What a fantastic nostalgia-filled afternoon. Could not have imagined anything better!

Lachezar Minchev: Amazing Night Tour! We were in Washington for a wedding and decided to stay over for the fireworks. In between we used Private Tours of Washington to see the city at night. Amazing! Bill was a fantastic tour guide. There was nothing he didn’t know. He also kept us in stitches the whole time. I’d recommend this company in a heartbeat. Great tour!

The Society of the Cincinnati: what do users think?

Caroline Maunakea-Hammonds: We stopped in after lunch for the Hamilton exhibit, we didnt even know this place was here. We stayed for the tour of the home, it was informative and delightful. This is honestly my new favorite museum in the District. Our docent, Dan, was engaging and a wealth of knowledge. Such an unexpected treat.

Daniel Draper: Nice free museum and toue located on embassy row. Great to check out while taking a walk through the beautiful neighborhood. Takes about an hour on the tour and you get to see the beautiful house.

Junxiao Shi: Free museum offering one-hour tours of the historic house. I found this via geocaching last year. It is worth the time.

MaryJane Burgess: A place to learn so much about our early history. Our docent, Ms. Jamieson was excellent and very knowledgeable. Enjoyed the hour tour.

Heather Wellington: Incredible historic home and museum. Such a beautiful place! A local treasure!

tripop noiwan: Excellent architectural find in Washington DC. Excellent example of the Gilded Americana. Decor rivals that of Versailles!

Grand Atlas Private Tours of DC: what do users think?

Marie Navikas: I will echo what others have written ... this is the only way to see D.C.! Having a driver and a guide made our day so enjoyable and enabled us to see so much more than if we had been on our own trying to navigate the busy streets, parking and walking! As one other customer put it, it is worth every penny ... and then some! Our fabulous guide, Nathalie, also pointed out how the SUV was more nimble moving about than the huge tour busses. Our driver, Jose, was a skilled driver and thoughtful. He met us with open umbrellas as we exited one building as it was starting to rain. His car was stocked with cold waters! We were in town from Florida and were met by long-time friends from Pittsburgh ... it was such a nice way for us to get together! We saw and learned more than we expected! Eric has a good thing going!

Donna LaWall: Exquisite packed tour. Best tour I’ve experienced stateside . From the start of each day, sharing the sites and going above everyday to ensure every has an exceptional experience. The knowledge of monuments and historical sites- was extraordinary. Our adventure started with a day tour , a night guided tour and then an additional day tour to Arlington because why would we not ! My struggle with heights and walking slower was accommodated with such grace. We had such a great experience, Run don’t walk to book your vacation adventure with Atlas .

Julie Franklin: 5 gigantic stars for our tour guide, Eric!! He was so informative and fun. He made our tour great!!! Highly recommend this private tour!! It will not disappoint!!

Khaleesi June: This company treated my brother and I like a King and Queen. Truly amazing experience! They were on time at our meet location! They both wore masks, provided hand sanitizer and wipes and also offered cold bottles of water on this very hot day. They were also very thorough with direction throughout DC. Daniel was our driver and he was dressed very professionally and even took the extra step in opening the door for me at every location we stopped at! Bob was our tour guide and man oh man was he a delight! He made it very fun and was highly knowledgeable about everywhere he took us to see! Monuments, Memorials, little unknown facts... Bob was like a walking encyclopedia!!!! We also got done a bit early so I was wondering if the time spent had any correlation with what I paid for and immediately as I spoke to Bob about this concern, he communicated with the communication rep I was dealing with named Eric and Eric immediately called me and gave me some very generous options for accommodations about my concern!! One of the best experiences I ever had!!!! I will definitely be back!!!! They were wonderful!

Amber Rainey: I highly recommend this company for tours of DC. Bob was an incredible guide! He was super knowledgeable and very responsive to questions. He showed us everything on our list and more! He was super helpful in suggesting things to see and where to have both a delicious lunch and incredible afternoon snack. I feel like this was the best way to see all the monuments and important buildings. Viviana was a great driver and really helped get us everywhere safely. If you want an absolutely fantastic tour of DC, chose Grand Atlas.

stevie garcia: My family happened to be in DC at the same time as our friends, so we booked a tour in June 2021. Eric was so knowledgeable. It was humid out and he had cold water for us. We did fun trivia during the drive. He also took photos of us and gave us pointers on the best angles for the photos we took ourselves. I would recommend this tour to everyone.

Troy Schmidt: We started our visit to Washington DC on the highest note possible. Eric and Grand Atlas tours made our visit to all the monuments fun and memorable. He was a master of quizzes and could not be stumped in a number of areas. The driver provided cold water and snacks along the way. Definitely worth the price for our party of 11.

DC Military Tours: what do users think?

Thankful Mom: We took a private tour today of Arlington National Cemetery with Navy veteran Tom Schultz of DC Military Tours. WOW. What we saw, did, and learned with Tom in 3 1/2 hours we NEVER could’ve done on our own. Tom and this tour were phenomenal. It was myself, my husband, and our teen son, who stayed engaged and loved it. HIGHLY recommend DC Military Tours. We will absolutely use Tom when we bring our son back to do DC. Thank you for an amazing and unforgettable afternoon.

Holly White: We have toured Washing DC in the past with a major tour company, and I can say we had a 110% better experience with DC Military Tours. Mr. Shultz is a fabulous tour guide. We enjoyed two different tour packages through him. He genuinely cares about what you wish to see and do. Mr. Schultz’s knowledge base is remarkable!

Charlie Salgado: Tom was absolutely amazing, completely catered/scheduled our tour based on what we were interested in seeing and weather conditions and had some awesome recommendations along the way. Tom kept it very interesting for the kids by keeping them engaged with age appropriate questions, stories, and interesting facts. He was able to answer all of our completely random questions along the way. Tom’s passion for American History is evident and made it fun for all. Tom also had many awesome suggestions for photo ops along the way, and was able to capture some amazing family pictures for us. Thank you so much for your hospitality!

Maura Flint: Positive: Professionalism, Punctuality, Quality, ValueHad the opportunity to have Tom as our guide through Alexandria. His narrative and command of facts as well as his engaging story telling made for a wonderful experience. Definitely would take another tour soon.Services: Private tours, Group tours

Brittany Chapman: We reviewed a couple companies and settled on this one due to their flexible options and best pricing. Tom (our guide) was AWESOME! We weren’t sure what to expect but he was great- the tours he provided were top notch every single place we decided to go. He was fun to talk to and knew all the insider scoop stuff to give us the best experience in a short amount of time. Not only did he exceed expectations but he even took the time to help us plan our following day’s activities and give us tips and suggestions. We met us at Arlington, provided ice cold bottled water while he drove us to our destinations in his super clean and comfortable SUV with ease. GET this tour, we did the 6 hour and it was the highlight of our time in DC. You WONT regret it! Thanks so much!

Krista Stark: Positive: Professionalism, Punctuality, QualityTom is a fantastic storyteller and really paints the mental picture of the historical events he brings to life on his tours.

White House Visitor Center: what do users think?

Ryan Barley: Very cool place and I wish it was advertised better. Once you find it it is a great museum, full of information about the beginnings of the White house. Also it tells of the evolution the building went throw over time. Cool artifacts that show the people who interacted with America, old house hold items that were used to entertain guests and old furniture the past presidents sat on. Pretty quick museum over all in comparison to all the other museums at the National Mall.

Danny Brown: I really enjoyed the tour but the only thing that disappointed me was that the tour was not long enough. It is more or less a self-guided tour but there are a Secret Service agent in each room to answer any questions you may have. Wished we could see more but we knew that was not possible because of security concerns. We would recommend this tour.

Axel Müller: Nice visitor center with much information about the White House (presentation boards, information boards, cinema show and so on).A gift shop is also on site where you can buy a lot of souvenirs and other things. At the entrance you have to pass a security check.

Chuck: Security folks friendly but professional. Tours are self guided. Facility is amazing... as one would expect of the home of our head of state. Amazing amount of history, but you have to bring your own resources, as the secret service agents, with one amazing exception, volunteered no information.

Carlos Aguiluz: Great place to learn about the history of the White House. Really enjoyed the amount of artifacts that this center had, not too overwhelming if you have small kids.
