Black Star Dust: Absolutely stunning place. Great service. Top tier experience. Everything was a ten. The Seafood Paella is delicious. Highly recommend that dish. It comes in different sizes for sharing. It was my bday so they brought out gratis champagne and this cheesecake that was literally the one of the most delicious desserts to grace the planet. Don’t even get me started on the churros! Amazing! I also did come in with a VIP who goes there regularly so that surely may have enhanced the experience to 10 stars!!

J. Ivy Smith: Food was AMAZING! This should get. Michelin Star. There paella is the best I have had. I want to say there paella and cheesecake is similar to José Andre. Service was excellent and our waiter reminded us of actor John Mulaney. I def recommend this place and def Michelin Star worthy.

Christopher Gillespie: All about the dining experience here, they go above and beyond. Did the bottomless brunch with amazing views. Brunch at this level of execution will be very tough to match. The blue fin ahi could be best bites of 2022 to date. The scallop crudo was melt in the mouth. Worth the price of admission.

Tash M: Had a private dinner here and it was an exceptional experience. The food was lovely, so was the service. Special thanks to Darina for being so attentive and providing an especially memorable experience.

Surfside Taco Stand: what do users think?

C F: Pretty good burritos. Fresh and tasty. I enjoyed my burrito and would try other ones. I deduct 1 star because the price is higher than expected for 1 normal sized burrito and the lettuce/salad was a bit confusing. Also the chairs and tables were pretty dirty when we were there. But overall great sauces and friendly service.

Petr Tojsl: Delicious tacos! I got the north grill taco, which consisted of well seasoned mahi-mahi, tasty Chipotle sour cream dressing, and pickled vegetables like lettuce and onion. Along with that, came a delicious yellow lime rice. After my meal, The cashier kindly explained to me how they make their tacos, so that I can replicate the recipe at home. This place is slightly pricey, but definitely worth the price in a big city like DC. Also, they have a fine range of tasty hot sauces. Finally, they’re very quick! I got my taco in under five minutes!

Ophelia’s Fish House: what do users think?

Yaya's Thoughts: Visited with my husband and MIL last Saturday evening at 630pm. We were seated promptly by the hostess, who looked a bit surprised when we walked through the door as she was scrolling on her phone and was sitting at an empty table near the door. We sat and waited to be greeted by a waiter for 30 minutes. We would try to make eye contact or slightly wave at passing staff, but no one came to our table. Another family came in after us and was promptly seated and served. We left at 7pm because no one even talked to us. The hostess was talking to another table during our wait and would look over at us but say nothing to other staff, or acknowledge us in anyway. We were very disappointed when we left.

Nya H: Had a wonderful evening because the servicer shared with us his recommendations based on what we like, the food presentation was magnificent and the drinks was strong enough...😉

Tony and Joe's Seafood Place: what do users think?

Gabby Bonilla: This restaurant is really large with seating available outside and inside. We sat inside because it was extremely hot outside. The food was okay, but overly priced. We ordered fried shaved Brussels sprouts and they came out burnt, but other than that the food and drinks were just okay.

Vy H.: Great location for drinks and light food by the waterfront! It’s always busy packed on the weekends but was lucky this past Sunday for a table outdoors! Service is great too. Seafood wise, top favorites were the Hot Crab Dip, Steamed Top Neck Clams and the Chilled Seafood Tower!

Armida (Justmida): Food was excellent! Mahi-mahi tacos, shrimp alpastor , fried camari all very good!

Jeffrey Brooks-Holliday: Service was not so great. Definitely room for improvement. Management should know that they have tours coming and going from that area and should have a system to reflect that. Food and drinks were decent, filling and fulfilled its purpose. Will try again on next trip here and revise review if service standards improve.

No Thanks: Portions were good. Presentation of my dish was good. The taste not so much. The fries were too salty, the sautéed spinach had more salt than it should, and I think our waitress did not know the menu much. Fair experience, but I will not return. Thanks. Went on 12/28/2021 4-5pm

Connor Sargent: Food was amazing, fresh, and service was great. Very good seasoning on our dishes, presentation made the meals even more enjoyable to eat. And $1 local oysters were delicious. Definitely coming back here every time we visit DC.

Aditya Karandikar: Had an awesome time here as a late night/ early next day stop. The food was quite nice and fairly refined, especially at such a late hour! The atmosphere was popping as well which made it more enjoyable. Service was very friendly and they had great oysters. Fresh complimentary bread never hurts either…

Suzi Figueroa: Wow, wow and wow! A friend recommended this establishment to me when I asked for dining recommendations for my upcoming DC trip. I am so glad I listened. The warm and inviting ambiance matched the service. And the food? Oh my goodness. Delicious. My SO ordered meatloaf. Who knew meatloaf could take on a such an extraordinary presentation.

Joseph Morgan: Lunch/Brunch 2 adults 2 kids $75-100 Great atmosphere and views of the river and new Frederick Douglas bridge. As other mention the oysters are good. The kids menu is good, the crispy fish sandwich is good. The eggs Benedict were good but they over cooked the poached eggs. Great wine and beer list. Great Bloody Mary.

Monique Diop: Nice space, easy to get to ( uber not sure of parking) food fresh, delicious and interesting.. Seafood Bratwurst was good. We ate outdoors. with warm heat lamps near a pink lighted bridge! #FDMB

Bill A: While the service was good, I would not recommend this restaurant‘s food. I had to send my steak back twice and they still couldn’t get it right. The crab Cobb salad had very little crab and the side of crab Louis was a bunch of gooey whatever. After spending over $300 on “dinner” for 3, I had to go to The Hamilton for dinner. Highly recommend The Hamilton but make reservations in advance. Food is great and surprisingly good value.

m weston: Loved the food! Loved the setting and ambiance! Awesome service … BUT super pricey. If you have money to burn then this is your place. Once is enough for me. Lol

Clare & Don's Beach Shack: what do users think?

Chris Sheft: Great hang out, Fair beer selection with some local choices and good food, entertainment. Loki, casual.

Maddy A: Decent food but nice ambience! For a seafood place the seafood is not the best - the fish was dry, the shrimp was okay, and the oysters were just bad (definitely don’t order them). But it’s in northern VA and the prices are equivalent to an actual beach shack so you can’t expect more. However, the place has a nice environment and reminds you of being at the beach! Great for being outdoors and having drinks with friends. Also the hush puppies and fried Oreos (not on the menu) are amazing! Fun place to go to but counterintuitively I would not order seafood here.

Kelly Crenshaw: We were going to another spot and one of my group said "what about here" as we came out of metro. They had a large party cancel so we were able to get in. Everything was great. Food was fantastic and we all were happy leaving. The mac and cheese might be there best I have ever had. I been thinking about and I can not remember a better bowl of mac and cheese... it was that good.

Jessica R: We decided to come here on a whim and thoroughly enjoyed our meal. We came for more of a late lunch/early dinner and even though we did not have reservations they still were able to seat us. They did have to seat us in their outdoor area, which was a little chilly but perfectly fine. Our server was very pleasant and attentive. The food was great! I got the blackened chicken mango salad and my mom got the barbecue chicken flatbread. Both were very good

Luke's Lobster Farragut: what do users think?

Mr. T: At $30 for a 4oz lobster roll, cole slaw and a soda, it was quite pricey for a week day lunch. However, the food was very nice, the restaurant was impeccable and the service was top notch. You are in the very heart of DC. Blocks away from the White House. The very seat of power in the modern world. So, $30 for lunch is reasonable. While I was there, I did see a few potential customers walk in, get sticker shock and make an about face. About the food: Lobster roll was very good. The roll was a soft Texas toast-type set up that was uniquely cut down the center to form the tasty bun. The lobster was seasoned well in a light dressing that complimented the lobster without overpowering it. The cole slaw was a generous portion. It is a vinegar-based slaw that for me was a bit too much on the sour-acidic side, but I could see the attempt to provide contrast to the lobster and make the lobster sweetness pop. A sweet slaw would have been too much sweet for the palate. The better side choice would have been the kettle chips, but then you’re losing the healthier aspect of the slaw. I thought I had bought a Mexican coke in a neat looking bottle with a different type of label. To my surprise, it didnt taste like Mexican coke or coke or even cola. It had a weird taste. Not bad, just weird. A closer look at the label revealed it was a Mexicane coke from Maine. Figures Maine folk would mess up a cola like that. Was it old bay seasoning I was tasting??? Dont know but wont be ordering it again. The better drink choice would have been a nice ice cold bottle of beer. Blue Moon would have been an excellent choice, but I dont think they have it on site. The restaurant was immaculate. Everything was in order and everything was super clean. The entire staff was exceptional. Very friendly, attentive and respectful. Consider tipping them up front because they will earn it. It’s hard to find dedicated food service staff these days. Job Very Well Done! Every star was EARNED! Bravo!!🙏🏼

Mukarram: Food was ok, ive had better though. A lobster roll and a shrimp roll came out to $42. Both the size of a small gas station hot dog. This was sandwich only (not combo with drink and fries). Assuming with that, probably woulda came out to $70+ Very disappointing size to price ratio.

Tamila Torab Eghdami: It was my first time eating duck. The food was absolutely delicious! 😋 The service was amazing. Too bad we didn’t have time to go back for the second time but next time I’m in Washington definitely we’ll go back. We also tried their apple pie with tea and it was the best apple pie I ever had in my whole life. This restaurant worth your money and time!

Gary Smith: restaurant was very pretty and service was good. Came with a large group and we shared somethings so ended up trying a large portion of the menu. the mozzarella and tomato appetizer had very mediocre mozzarella. The lasagna was okay, but not significantly better than a frozen oven ready lasagna. the sweet gnocchi and rabbit gnocchi were good, and the portions for the rabbit gnocchi were very generous, but not out standing. the calamari was good, but not exceptional in anyway. The brussel sprout appetizer was better than other dishes. The filet filled tortellini was by far the winning dish for the night. in the deserts we tried coffee ice cream, tiramisu, and the chocolate mouse. the mouse was very good, and on the thick side which I enjoy. the tiramisu and ice cream were good, but not noteworthy. there was out door dining as well as two floors of indoor dining. bathrooms are on the second floor only accessible by stairs that were moderately difficult to navigate so not a handicap friendly location. I would come back for a moderately nice dinner event, but would not go out of my way to eat here.

Nicole R: My husband and I went here for lunch on our anniversary. The food was amazing! I had the tortellini and he had the lasagna. Everything was so fresh and delicious!

The Occidental: what do users think?

Karen L: We took advantage of restaurant week to revisit an old friend, the Occidental. The food is still great. The seating arrangement does not crowd the room and allows for conversation. We enjoyed all the dishes we had as they were interesting and well done. Will definitely put the Occidental back on the list for lunch rotations given our pleasant dining experience. If the ice cream cookie sandwich is on the menu, get it! the cookie was fab! (My fantastic Grilled Point Judith Calamari Salad is pictured: Beet Yogurt, Barley Chips, Apricot -Harissa Coulis, Summer Mixed Greens, Shaved Daikon Radish)

Khoi Nguyen: Came here for lunch with some coworkers. We had some oysters, angus burger, crab cake sandwich and the fried green tomato BLT. Everything here was delicious. Oysters were so good we had to order another dozen. The burgers and sandwiches are a must order. The crunch from the thick cut bacon and fried tomato in the BLT was definitely the highlight. The crab sandwich was cooked perfectly and the added water crest added some great texture. This is a great place to people watch. The outside patio is perfect when the sun is out. Food and ambience here is great. If you want seafood and American food this is one of the best spots around the mall.

María José RS: Absolutely amazing! High quality food and the staff are the loveliest. We had a roasted half chicken with a glass of Spanish wine and it was definitely a stunning combination. And the dessert? A dream!! I got the lemon and mint cake and my boyfriend the chocolate one and I can assure you we we’ll be thinking about these for a long time. When I told the waiter that it was our anniversary, they made sure it was going to be a night to remember. Highly recommend this place.

Ron Paige: Amazing Experience. Sofia was an amazing Server. Professionalism personified❤ Dining Manager Ebony was amazing and checked on us along with the Sou Chef. It lives up to the hype. BEST Calamari EVER! Platter Up the snapper with a lobster tail and filet mignon. Thank me later.❤💯 The East Coast Oysters are Amazing. Thank you. Worth every dollar spent and wonder staff. Alexander Staufenberg: My parent took me here for their anniversary dinner. I was sort of nervous about the vegetarian options — but I was very pleased with stuffed mushrooms, the potatoes lyonnaise and the steamed asparagus. The portions are very generous. After hearing we were celebrating an anniversary the house gave us a complimentary brownie with ice cream and whipped cream. It was divine.

Swastika Nohara: The best stone crab there is! My favorite was crab stuffed shrimp because it was creamy and delicious! Perfectly seasoned and crunchy at the same time. Creamed spinach and broccolini was also nice. We spent 156 USD for those meals as seen on my photos.
