Ginkgo Gardens: what do users think?

Kristen Diaz: Just moved here from Miami & have been searching for a new fav plant shop. Ive explored so many & this one is definitely it! Great selection of plants at reasonable prices. They have an outdoor & indoor section plus an upstairs portion. I’ve gotten so many plants from here already. The staff is also friendly & helpful. Recommend.

Scott Nguyen: Some of the plants sold here did not have any roots, so what chance do they have in surviving? The other plant we bought was fine though, still this nursery need to either check their greenhouse or suppliers for rooted plants.

a: I finally had the chance to stop by Ginkgo Gardens, and it completely exceeded my expectations. There is a WIDE variety of plants, planters, tools, and more! During checkout, I told the man I was just beginning my gardening journey and he pulled out this book to help me with the plants I bought today! Thank you so much for the amazing experience and exceptional customer service. This isn’t the closest plant nursery to me, but it is 100% worth the trip. I will definitely be back soon!

Ashley Stewart: Ginkgo Gardens is a cozy neighborhood plant store where I get almost all of my houseplants and planters. They also have a wide selection if outdoor plants. The staff are friendly and helpful, and the plants are beautiful. Sometimes I just visit the store for some pleasant browsing.

Sheree P: I was recently in an unfortunately common predicament. My husband was on a business trip and my daughter was in quarantine from Pre school. So I was limited in what I could do but was also responsible for entertaining a busy toddler. During our time together, my daughter and I prepared our garden to plant vegetables. I was able to call Ginko, talk about specifics of our plan and pay over the phone. Someone even gladly brought the merchandise to my car. The customer service representative went above and beyond in taking the time to speak with me and my daughter about our desires and even researched a topic for us. I feel valued as a customer and will always come back for my gardening needs.

Catherine Zander: A few caveats, it's higher priced than a big box store and it's a small business so there's limited inventory. That said, what they do have is wonderful. I'm very picky and I found exactly what I wanted. Whoever does the ordering has great taste. The people are knowledgeable and kind. They go well above and beyond. I was nervous about repotting a plant and they helped me find the soil I'd need and talked me through how to do it. I definitely would have killed it had I not spoken to them. The photo is my successfully repotted peace lily. I will absolutely go back.

Siena Dante: Reasonable prices based on my past experience buying plants in New York City. Staff was really friendly and knowledgeable and gave me good plant recommendations. They have a good and varied selection as well

Alison A: I was very excited to come hear about hearing good things. I was looking for something particular that a friend had found here. I asked a long haired male employee for help, and he just told me to look around for it…. The place is huge with lots of variety of plants, so I wasted time because I couldn’t find it… with that being said, very poor customer service. Wasted my time here.

Anna Sumner: My first impression of this place is that it's a garden where plants are available to be taken home. The outdoor space is absolutely brimming with happy plants of all sizes so much do that it spills out onto the sidewalk out front. The indoor space has two levels. The second level is accessible by stairs and has a very lovely balcony with more plants and outdoor furnishings. I didn't notice an ADA option to ascend. It would likely be a tough store to navigate anyhow with such narrow aisles all around. Parking is available on the street. Read the signs because some spots are affected by the school nearby. They had a great variety of planters from basic nursery plastic to ceramic and even brushed metal. As you can imagine the nice ones are pricey as are the larger plants. Furnishings and racks can also be purchased here. They even have terrarium components. Literally whatever you may need for basic indoor and outdoor gardening is under this roof. Go check it out!

Kris negella.bbs@hotmail.com: Although there is a great selection of plants/ horticulture, the old guy that is either the owner or an employee has a terrible attitude which he attempts to hide with snide remarks and a disingenuous smile! Outside of this abrassive individual the other staff members are wonderfully helpful, pleasant and professional. Please check out other plant buying options in the neighborhood....this man makes the buying experience at Ginkgo Gardens horrible! We've sent others to Ginkgo Gardens to see if my experience was an isolated incident. It appears this grumpy old guy doesn't like certain groups of individuals....Pitiful Ginkgo Gardens

Olde City Garden: what do users think?

Lindsey Franklin: I am not a very adept gardener or plant owner, so I really appreciated how helpful Jeremy was. It’s a great neighborhood gardening center. Picked up a cute pot for my monstera. Will be back.

Jarred Ricks: Great place to buy firewood. Nice sized pieces that you can pick on your own for a good price. Convenient for those who don’t need to purchase wood by the cord. A nice neighborhood gem.

Robert DeJaco: Best place to get a Christmas tree. Sam was great helping us make a choice and load it on our car.

Suzi Hamernik: Wonderful selection of regular as well as unusual plants. Constantly changing mix. Also, garden supplies are good. Go to the very back of the lot (southwest corner) for bargains on 'distressed' plants. TLC will usually revive them. Staff very helpful. Worth waiting if they are busy.
Response: Thank you! We are always trying to provide an interesting mix and are happy to look for unique requests if we do not the plant in stock. Hope to see you again soon!

Jess H: Went to try the Spicy Water food. Delicious! Added bonus- we got to shop for a few perennials after a nice lunch of chicken, fries, and perfect plantains.
Response: Thank you for the 5-star review! We greatly appreciate your support of local business during this time. Spicy Water has been such a hit, they'll be here every Sunday!

Stefano Negri: Super kind staff, Christmas trees looks great, nice fire pit to get warm while chosing the tree...they should put a hot chocolate / Glühwein stand, my kids and I would have been happy clients :-)
Response: Thank you for the excellent review, Stefano! We love the idea of a hot chocolate stand, maybe next year ;)

Gregory Moran: Smaller than a big box store, but they had the tomato seedlings we were looking for! Always happy to support local.

John Moore: A great locally owned plant (and fire wood) center. Sometimes a little low on stock but worth a visit for healthy plants!

Keith Marzullo: Old City is an unusual establishment. I walk by it frequently: this week, they were still selling pansies along with calibrachoa, zinnias, and marigolds. The people are friendly, the selection good, and I enjoy the non-chain vibe. The place does looks abandoned during the winter.

Anya B: Great experience! I called ahead to see if they had what I needed and Tom was helpful and informative. They had a great selection of plants as well.
Response: Thanks for the 5-star review, Anya! We are always happy to help! We look forward to seeing you in the future.

Little Leaf: what do users think?

Austin Graff: On a hunt for the perfect plant for our living room, my wife, daughter and I visited four plant shops within two hours- Rewild, Little Leaf, She Loves Me and Ginko's Gardens. All were great options, but here's what stood out about Little Leaf: 1) Space: It's the most beautiful space with plants everywhere, bringing the tile floor to life. It's a small shop, but one you can easily photograph. 2) Price: For being a boutique shop, the prices weren't bad at all. For a taller plant for our living room, we expected to pay $200+, but found an option at Little Leaf for $69. Little Leaf also sells greeting cards and other small gifts. Parking can be harder to find, but worth it if you snag a spot. There are tons of shops and restaurants nearby. The one downside of Little Leaf was that the staff were the least helpful out of the locations we visited. They weren't rude at all, just didn't jump in to help as eagerly as the others. At the end of the day, we're all human so I get not having the energy to always be our best, especially around the holidays.
Response: Hi Austin, Thank you so much for visiting us! We strive to offer the most hospitable customer service to everyone, and are disappointed to hear you didn't receive that. We'll take your note to heart and be sure to continue working on this. We hope you love your new plant, and don't hesitate to reach out with any questions or concerns. Best, Mollie

Ben Segall: Love this place. Got a rlly nice fern in a gorgeous handmade ceramic pot. The plant selection is awesome and they are rlly nice and helpful. Be aware: most of the ceramics and plants are sold separately. The ceramics are mostly handmade and therefore priced accordingly, so if you don’t want to spend extra on a planter pot I suggest you bring your own and have them repot it for you. Overall this place is a 10/10 recommend. Will definitely go back soon.
Response: So happy to hear you had a great experience, Ben! I remember potting that fern for you and being excited about the plant + pot combo you picked out. Hope to see you again in the shop soon! Best, Mollie

Melissa Pazornik: Eleanor was absolutely wonderful to work with! Her eye for arrangements and knowledge about each plant was phenomenal. The entire team made my experience so enjoyable and I am OBSESSED with the final product.
Response: Thanks so much Melissa! We are also thrilled with how the arrangements turned out- enjoy your new plant babies! -The Little Leaf Team

Ceci Moffit: The store was very nice despite the strong artificial flower smell. The store was also very small and not covid safe at all. The male employee was very rude and did not answer my questions. He also look as if he had more important things to do. I have never had such a bad experience at a flower store before.
Response: Hi Ceci, We're so sorry to hear about your disappointing experience. We pride ourselves in our customer service and COVID safety, running at a limited capacity of 8 customers in the shop. We hope you give us another chance down the road, and we will be sure to share your feedback with our team. Best, Mollie

R. Sims: I have purchased several plants from Little Leaf over the years and recently decided to get a larger plant for my living area. I ordered a Birds of Paradise to be delivered, but did not hear from anyone on the delivery date (Saturday). I got a message on Sunday saying the plant was delivered. I reached out to the supposed delivery driver who I guess contacted Little Leaf and received a message that the confirmation was sent early, erroneously. Ok, no problem. The plant was delivered today and I must say I am disappointed in the quality - many of the leaves are split and the plant does not seem to have been well taken care of. I am surprised by this and unfortunately will be purchasing plants elsewhere.
Response: Hi there, we're so sorry to hear about the state of your plant upon arrival. If you could send us an email to hello@littleleafshop.com, we'd love to send you a replacement. Thank you, Mollie

Holden Rhodes: Hands down the best indoor plant boutique in DC. There’s no other place like it. The selection is always excellent and the profits are high quality and extremely healthy, especially compared to other plant stores in the area. I’ve bought nearly all of my plants from here and there’s a noticeable difference in the longevity of the products purchased here versus chain stores. Staff is consistently helpful and welcoming and the aesthetic never fails!

Ms.: Nice gem in D.C. great selection of plants, all shapes and sizes. Great staff. Some items are great to give as gifts. Books, cards, pots etc. Loved the pot hangers
Response: Thanks so much for the kind review, Ms. Green! Come back and see us again soon!

Lindsey Casella: Always love stopping by this gem. The plants are reasonably priced and the decor/design of the store feels like Justin’s Blakeney Jungalow come to life !!!! Here are my newest additions from the store, that I snagged for total of ~$25. (Note: care cards are included, which is ideal for beginners!)
Response: Hi Lindsey! Thanks so much for the sweet words! We're so happy to hear you're a fan and hope to see you again soon in the shop. Many thanks, the LL team

Kristen Diaz: Shop looks really aesthetically pleasing but that’s about it. Not a great variety of plants & everything is wildly overpriced (plants & pots). Even with that, I expected at least good customer service but received nothing from both employees working there. Not even a greeting or goodbye as I left (even though I still thanked them as I walked out), let alone assistance with anything else. There was also only 1 other person in the store who left before I finished shopping around so the shop wasn’t busy.
Response: Hi Kristen, We're so sorry to hear about your experience. We completely understand how frustrated you must have been reflecting on your visit. We are always working to train our team to provide warm, attentive and welcoming service, and we will certainly use your experience to help us improve. We hope you give us another chance and have you back in sometime. Best, The Little Leaf Team

Ms. D: Extremely poor customer service and overpriced. Last Tuesday, (Dec 21) the brunette female was cold, unwelcoming and her attitude/personality was off-putting. Especially, her tone of voice when telling people there was an occupancy limit as soon as they barely stepped foot into the shop. With how tiny the shop is, it definitely needs a limit for the safety of staff/customers during Covid, but there’s a much more professional and friendly way to communicate to people, let alone customers. When entering the shop, it felt like you were just a nuisance to her. I will not be returning.
Response: Hi there, We're so sorry to hear about your experience. We are constantly striving to offer warm and genuine customer service, and are disappointed to hear you didn't receive that during your visit. We hope you give us another chance and that we get to see you in the shop again. Best, Mollie

Logan Hardware: what do users think?

Emily Shaw: I love this place--such a friendly neighborhood vibe. I get all my plants here, and this one guy who works there (sorry don't remember the name) is my plant guru. They will repot your plants for a small fee if you bring them in, which is so helpful when you live in an apartment. Also--their plants are so reasonably priced!! I bought a gorgeous 7-foot fiddle leaf fig on a whim because the price was literally a quarter of what you'd pay at [unnamed nearby plant shop]. Thank you for everything you do!!
Response: Emily, thanks so much for the kind words! We love knowing that Logan Ace Hardware is able to provide you with great customer service, products, and more! We truly value your input and look forward to seeing you again soon. And so do our plants!

Paul Durbin: If you want service and quick check out go to True Value on 17th. Completely different experience with knowledgeable staff ready for you at the door who will help you and then check you out right away. 100% of the true value staff knows their stuff. Here it’s mainly people who will just check you out and don’t know hardware. This place has equally good inventory and later hours, but it’s not a hardware store experience. And for what it’s worth this is an Ace Hardware, which advertises on Fox News, should you want to avoid supporting Fox.

Baba Harsh: This place is great, I understand it's a mom and pop shop but man the prices are super high. The people are somewhat helpful but got a lot of short answers. Ended up at Home Depot.

Jim Parrett: Went there to get glass cut and paint matched. l was pleasantly surprised how helpful and courteous the whole staff were. They were able to take care of what I needed so I could finish my project. Thank you!!!
Response: We’re so glad to hear this Jim- thank you for trusting our team with your DIY needs. And thank you for shopping and supporting our employee owned store!

Aja Navat: Friendly staff and large selection of things. It is two floors.
Response: Aja, thanks for the great review! We love that your Logan Ace Hardware experience is a good one! Thanks for sharing, shopping local, and spreading the word about all that our employee-owned store has to offer. We look forward to seeing you again soon!

Jacob Goo: So this is super weird but they sell the best cream soda at the counter. I love ace for being small hardware with a little bit of everything. Thx!
Response: Dear Jacob, we're delighted to hear about your experience at Logan Hardware and so glad you love our cream soda! Thanks for shopping local and we look forward to seeing you soon!

John Trissel: Good hardware store! parking may be challenging. They have a good selection for most small projects and gardening needs
Response: Dear John, thanks for the kind words! We are glad that you find what you need at Logan Ace Hardware. We know you have choices when you shop, and we truly value your business. Thanks for shopping local at our employee-owned store! We look forward to seeing you again soon.

Greg Amiker: Multiple Floors, with a little bit of everything that you need for yout home or Project. Whether it's Plants, Plumbing, or Electrical its a one stop shop with knowledgeable staff.
Response: Hi Greg. Thanks for the wonderful review! We promise to continue being your trusted ally for everything home.

Mark Frank: They probably have what you need, and there's nice people there to help you find it! A bit pricey but that's to be expected in this area.
Response: Thanks Mark! Love to hear we can get you the products you need with the convenience of being in the neighborhood. We hope you'll stop by and see us again soon.

Robert Bolen: This store is full of caring people and fantastic tools. On two separate occasions, Jorje has gone above and beyond to help me find the perfect solution. It is wonderful to have a local place where experts provide guidance in a kind, nonjudgmental manner.
Response: This is the best review we can hope for - it means a lot when our customers reach out about our staff and store. Thank you for shopping and supporting local at our store, have a wonderful holiday season!

American Plant: what do users think?

neriah anne: Visited for the first time today! This is my first plant shop I've visited since moving here recently. I'm starting to collect houseplants again since I had to leave them behind. I loved the selection of plants available! They had lots of plants I've dreamed of seeing like the variegated string of hearts, calathea orbifolia, hoyas. I will definitely be coming back again to check out the baby plants! The cons are that the larger plants were pretty pricey and customer service is a bit lacking, but it was busy today. I wish some of the larger trailing plants like the pothos njoy and other hoyas came in smaller pots that were more affordable. Overall a great houseplant spot!

Stephanie Stubler: Like my favorite nurseries: a plant wonderland from the moment you walk in. I was on a mission for indoor plants so did not spend much time in the covered annual/perennial area, but it was very well stocked and taken care of from my quick outdoor tour. So many indoor plant varieties to choose from, a few I had never seen in this area. I will return for further investigation, for sure!

Linda Balon Stein: Bought Biotone here to amend the soil prior to installing new shrubs. Also picked up flower and veggie seeds. American Plant is amazing. It is a bit higher priced compared to other local nurseries or big box stores. The staff were very nice and helpful.

Ashley Robertson: Nursery hopping in DC, MD, and VA is a favorite past time of mine and so far American Plant wins my award for most beautiful. American Plant had a large selection of healthy looking indoor and outdoor plants. They have everything from succulents, to trees, to climbing vines, and roses. I picked up some pollinator seeds from the garden center, a trellis, and a Thanksgiving Cactus. The prices were fair and the staff were knowledgeable and available. I particularly loved their yard sculpture collection. Those were pricy but the design and quality were some of the best that I’ve seen. I had to keep slapping my own hands to not walk away with all their hanging plants. Gorgeous!

Paul Hudson: This store is amazing, it has a wonderful assortment of plants and very knowledgeable staff. Overall, I had a excellent experience walking around and finding the plants I was looking for!!

Julie Chang: Had a great experience! Amazingly helpful staff and beautiful selection. Ended up buying a bird of paradise and a beautiful pot. Numerous staff helped me find the best fit for my needs and even adjusted my car to help things fit.

Sara Corrigan: Come every year for our Christmas tree. They have a really good selection, reasonable prices and friendly staff. Hits all the marks for us! We come for gardening season too are always pleased :)

Jeffery Holley: I fancy myself a seasoned gardener with Master Gardener certification from a California and Idaho. I'm crazy for flowers, nurseries, yard tools and botanical gardens. In a business with wild swings in seasonality and traffic, the customer care experience at AP is a superior. Folks are helpful and attentive. Plant inventory is excellent and the shop is filled with practical items and gift delights. One day I walked in with three 20-year-old Felco pruners in dire need of care. Garden Supply Manager, Andy Harms, fixed them up with alacrity. Polished up with new blades and springs...they are like new. Thank you American Plant, your products and people are a head-and-shoulders above any garden center. Period.

Liz T: Beautiful plants with tons of selection. Pretty reasonably priced for the location. The staff is so friendly and helpful. Highly recommend engaging with them because they are also knowledgeable. We ha d a small bush not make it and they gave us no trouble at all to replace it.

David Feuer: Very helpful staff, large selection in general. I do wish they sold wild-type strawberries.

Wild Bird Center: what do users think?

Pam Herbert: Knowledgeable and very friendly employees are always ready to answer questions and share their love of birds! They sell high quality seeds and equipment. Find all your birdy needs at one place

Lisa Billingham: This shop is really helpful for your bird needs. Be sure to ask about the squirrel buster feeder if you have squirrels eating your seed and suet. They carry things to your car and are very knowledgeable about birds in general.

laura beall: Wonderful store and fabulous inventory. Owner is very knowledgable about all subjects relating to bird feeding. Like a one stop shop. Quality items and reasonable prices.

Richard Heathcote: Selection and service are superb, but it's because ever there enjoys talking about backyard birds and other critters. Best place we've found for black oil sunflower seed, , feeders and birdhouses.

Janie Daum: Love this place! We get all our seed there for years! Great store coupons!

L Erg: Birds and squirrels are my only true friends. The food I buy here keeps them happy and on my side!

Gretzel Viorel Mallo: Great customer service. They are also very knowledgeable about everything in store so you can ask them anything!

Karyn Selko: Best place for wild bird supplies. Kevin is EXTREMELY knowledgeable!

REWILD Shaw: what do users think?

Austin Graff: On a hunt for the perfect plant for our living room, my wife, daughter and I visited four plant shops within two hours- Rewild, Little Leaf, She Loves Me and Ginko's Gardens. All were great options, but here's what stood out about Rewild: 1) Plants: Out of all the shops, Rewild had the largest and most diverse plant collection. The shop is larger than Little Leaf being in the Shay and can sell more plants. 2) Service: The woman working was helpful in finding the right plant for us. She also paid attention to our four-year-old daughter and gave her a sticker, making her day! Street parking can be harder to find in this part of town, but keep at it until you find a spot. There are lots of shops and restaurants nearby.
Response: Thank you so much for coming to the shop , we are so glad you liked all the

Michael B: Super friendly staff! Incredibly cute little shop, all the plants are reasonably priced and INCREDIBLY healthy!! They were so nice, they even potted my plant for me. I bought a bunch of plants and said I had pots at home, they said next time if I bring them in they'd be happy to pot for me! That's so nice! They even put drainage in the bottom per my request! Love this place. So glad to have finally made it in.
Response: Thank you so much for your very kind review Michael! We greatly appreciate you :)

Aidan John Miller: Took an old, overgrown ZZ plant here for some help. Had the absolute pleasure of working with Jen, who was immensely helpful. She repotted the old plant in a beautiful fresh pot, added some foliage, and made it look healthy and happy in its new home. After my ZZ was given such royal treatment, I felt confident enough to buy some new baby plants.
Response: Awww shucks Aidan! I’m glad we were able to give your zz the total treatment :)

Brenden King: The staff was amazing and so nice. They were great with my kids and answered ask their questions. They have a good selection of house plants but not anything rare. Over all a great experience and worth going if your in town.
Response: Thanks so much for your review Brenden! Happy you all had a great time

Michael Rovner: The team at rewild is fantastic. On multiple occasions I’ve gone there to purchase a new pot, only for them to advise me that my plant is still happy in its current pot. I really appreciate their honest advice, which is why I’ll keep going back there for all my plant needs!

Rodger Brown: Extremely helpful for new plant parents. Most of their plants are tropical but the the staff is phenomenal at advising newbies on care, treatment and expectations. Come as a novice or a plant fan, and leave satisfied. But, come prepared to pay for quality.

Blessing Ikpa-Adjakwah: My FAVORITE plant store! I’ve tried others and none have been amazing as Rewild (Shaw AND Ballston locations)! The staff is so knowledge and kind, I’ve literally killed a plant (completely my fault!!) and they replaced the plant for me free of charge. They have an extensive assortment of plants at any given time. I love this plant store, they are one of the best parts about the DMV.
Response: Hi Blessing!!! Thank you so much for all of the love. We love doing what we do because we have wonderful customers like yourself.

Martin Payne: I was looking to conduct an in-person plant workshop/demo for my boyfriend's birthday and discovered Rewild DC. Rewild offered a number of in-shop or at-home workshops; they were incredibly responsive and informative during the planning process. We were able to set up the workshop for a group of 14 people at our apartment. Lily was prompt, took part in our surprise, and lead us through the kokedamas workshop (highly recommend). Lily was engaging, witty, and very insightful. Even though it down poured during our session, Lily was adaptable and helped us have a wonderful time!
Response: Thank you so much for the sweet review Martin, we are so happy everything went wonderfully! Be well, Joe

Maria Rizo: PLEASE CHECK PLANTS BEFORE YOU LEAVE STORE. Great selection of plants, but left with a ficus infested with bugs. I am on week 3 of trying to get rid of them because I don't have the heart to throw away 80 dollars.
Response: Hi Maria, we saw your review and we're sorry to hear that you've been having some pest issues with your ficus. We examine our plants regularly and would never sell one we knew had pests, but unfortunately some do slip by us. We pride ourselves on keeping our customers happy though, and would encourage you to take advantage of our 90 day store credit/exchange policy if you're unsatisfied. We're also always available at hello@rewilddc.com if you have any plant or pest questions in the future.

Yoliem: Very pretty store! A little pricey but understandable given the location. They have really unique plants that I have not seen on other nurseries before.
Response: Thanks for stopping in and adding some great photos of the shop!

Whole Foods Market: what do users think?

Kevin M Combes: Very cutting-edge store, the first Whole Foods to open with Amazon's Just Walk Out technology. However, the other recent review from a Local Guide has some inaccuracies. You are *not* required to use the Just Walk Out technology. There are traditional self-checkouts if you prefer. When you enter the store, you choose which way you'd like to shop. If you do want to use Just Walk Out (and I recommend it), you do NOT need to be a Prime Member. You can use an in-store code from the Amazon/Whole Foods app, set up palm scanning (Amazon One), or use a credit card. Just Walk Out cuts out so many steps from shopping. You can put things into your bag as you shop, and you don't have to take them out again until you get home. I was so impressed with how well it works, even with complex items like loose bars of soap set out on a table, the self-serve hot bar/salad bar (which is priced by the box here), and the deli. Unlike the Amazon Fresh in Logan Circle, you have to scan your code/palm/card both on your way in and *out*. (This is because the store offers that option not to use Just Walk Out. The system needs to verify that you are a JWO customer before you bypass the checkout.) This is a little bit less convenient, but it's still way faster than using a checkout. The selection here is exactly what you'd expect from any other Whole Foods. It's really impressive how the Just Walk Out technology has been scaled up to a store this size, with such a large selection. The quality is great. I went out of my way to shop here because I'm a fan of the technology. I can't wait for this to come to a neighborhood closer to where I live.
Response: We are so delighted to hear about your wonderful experience in our store, Kevin! We appreciate your support & hope to welcome you back again very soon.

Gary Ma: I usually give Whole Food stores a 5 but this one does not have dispensers for plastic utensils like every Whole Foods I've been to had. The dispensers have been proven to save plastic because people use less when items are dispensed one at a time. Instead, there are only packages of utensils which included a knife which I didn't need. This is a BAD corporate decision and I hope they change it soon.
Response: We're so sorry you were disappointed with the lack of dispensers, Gary. Please visit http://wfm.com/help to send us further details and our team would be happy to review your feedback.

M planetmike: This Brave New Whole Foods reopened without cashiers is intriguing. The food selections are the same, only your checkout experience has changed. Is this our future or just one future? Cameras and sensors from the ceiling detect what customers select from the shelves. Is this a convenience we need? Seems contrary (but a common theme today) where we live in a world with a growing population, yet simultaneously strive to reduce jobs with low skill requirements? In addition to the food you select, Amazon has sufficient data to NOW know if you are right or left handed, what you look like, your height, the clothes you wear, etc... Wonder who owns this data? I do NOT see any benefits here for the customer, only for Amazon/Whole Foods.

Nils Hünerfürst: Great concept store. You can login with your In-Store Amazon Code and grab all your groceries and walk out. Super crazy.
Response: We appreciate the great feedback! Thanks for shopping with us.

Michelle Minstrell: Wow, what a unique experience! If you want (not required) you can try out the new technology linked to your Amazon account and not have to wait in a check out line! Lots of staff available to help get you set up to scan your app, shop, and then "just walk out"! (Pro tip: bag your groceries as you shop.) Great new store layout, bright aisles, great product selection of natural foods. Self-checkout available if you'd rather not use the app. So glad they are back to serve the community.
Response: We are incredibly grateful that you took the time out to leave us this great review, Michelle. Thanks for being such a fantastic customer!

Piggy Girl: High-quality selection of organic foods and an excellent variety of takeout buffet items! You can stuff an entire box to the brim for only about fifteen dollars which is awfully affordable for food of this quality. However the security is insane and there were about five people standing there forcefully directing to into narrow lines and barely accepting any questions about it. Besides the pushy and rather confusing security system it's one of the better grocery stores in the area
Response: Please accept my sincere apology for the difficulties you encountered. We apologize that a member of our store's security team treated you in anything less than the most professional and courteous manner. We take these issues very seriously and I have addressed this with the store and global leadership teams so they may investigate.

Calliope Athanassiadou: Although the general staff behavior was helpful, courteous and quick to respond to questions, we were surprised when we were stopped from taking a photo of a product that we meant to send to a friend for advice and direction. Since when taking photos is not allowed in a supermarket? Somebody should advise their personnel that a super market is a public place, unless we totally misunderstood the intent of the space.

Joseph Raczynski: Huge changes! Everything has been automated now since they reopened in February 2022. You don't need to be an Amazon Prime member, but it's optimized for those individuals. You walk in through turnstiles, with your unique member QR Code and then you simply walk around the store pick things up and walk out. No checkout, none. Sensors, really cameras, identify what you picked up and put in your bag. You're charged as you walk out. Your receipt shows up in your email in box. I checked, it was accurate. Again, walk in, pick up what you want, place in your bag, walk out. No checkout! The future is here. Always feel free to reach out to me on Twitter @joerazz
Response: We appreciate the great feedback, Joseph! Thanks for shopping with us.

D RK: The Whole Foods in Glover Park is creepy and has a limited selection of items due to the fact that items must be spaced apart in a way that many cameras can capture the image of shoppers purchasing items. In order for the many black cameras to operate self service options in the bakery are very limited for instance as is the case for many departments. The seafood counter as well is small and selection limited despite the size of the store and pristine cleanliness. So it is both creepy and very clean. The selection is very, very limited except for the produce department. Very, very disappointing.

Felice Goodwin: So disappointed in this store! We have waited almost 4 years for the reopening, and now that it is finally open it seems sterile and impersonal. Everything is prepackaged and weighed , no pretty produce to bag yourself. Worst part is you have no idea how much you have spent until you get an email 2 hours later. No way to pay with a different credit card either! I wanted to use my company credit card, but had to get permission from a manger to use the self-checkout and not my prime account. Ring the doorbell to come in? Well that is weird as well. Walk down the ramp to the garage to get in, seems unsafe too. They need to get this worked out. Please go back to the old Whole Foods as we knew it.

Glut Food Co-Op: what do users think?

Melissa Alston: I just love Glut Food Co-op! I was looking for Water Keifer Grains! I didn’t want to buy them online. I now know Glut sales water keifer grains😊

WanderLust: After aeons, place looks the same. Gritty, quite dungeon like. Nothing polished, all good. Visit up. Not your modern storefronts and OK in. Not as welcoming like the old days. Who knows. A fav, few picks to select from. Historic. Swing by if in the neighborhood. Parking can b tight.

Geetika Mathur: They have a huge selection of bulk items

Gabriel Popkin: I love this place! It's been my main grocery store for 11 years. I've never seen a place pack more variety into a smaller space. No need to walk down long aisles past products I don't want to buy. Staff are friendly and helpful. Prices are reasonable. The bulk selection is unmatched even by stores 10 times the size. Groovy tunes are always playing. It has all the charm that Yes and Whole Food lack. If you haven't been, give yourself a treat. If you have been but not recently, give it another try. Gotta support our local independent stores or they'll go away!

Sumayyah Muhammad: Good community and good healthy foods. I've been coming here for maybe 25+ years and there's nothing like it. Everything you need in one place...well almost. The spices and teas and nuts and fruit are the best I've ever had. They come from locally sourced companies so they're fresher. All the products in the store are actually local companies. But most importantly you feel like you're shopping with friends.

Mia Speight: Awww man, I can't say enough good things about this place. From the time you walk in and groove to the Dope music that they're playing...you'll enjoy yourself while you shop for dried fruits and specialty nuts at reasonable prices. Fresh organic produce, CHECK. Very eclectic vegan and vegetarian snack food items, CHECK. I love the people who work here they're so friendly cool and upbeat. It gives me the vibe of DC the OLD DC....you must, you must support local owned businesses. Cheers!!

Rachel: The best co-op in the area. Small enough that the staff will remember you but large enough to stock all the food options expected in a health food store. I come here to buy specialty items I can’t otherwise find OR to buy items cheaper. I personally love their Irish Sea Moss supply, variety of Bob’s Red Mill products (especially the teff flour), and the prepared vegan foods in the refrigerator section. My husband finds all types of herbal and beauty supplements here as well. Located in a quaint part of Mt. Rainier.

Aquene Freechild: If you haven’t been to Glut, you haven’t been to Mount Rainier, it’s the beating heart of this little town just along the District border. Great music, it’s a worker owned co-op so no membership required. Though it’s health food store in an expensive part of the country they price many items low, I get pasta, cheese and ice cream cheaper there often than I do at larger chain health food stores. They have folks to help you figure out herbs and supplements that might help what ails you. Fresh organic produce, herbs and bulk grains, nuts and granola, toiletries and natural black skin and hair products. Check it out for the novelty, keep coming back for joy, convenience and community.

Michelle Diaz Ortega: I love Glut! It's one of DC metro's best kept secrets! (That shouldn't be kept a secret!) It's one of the few places I can find many things without having to resort to looking online! Friendly & helpful staff always. Reality is that due to size of store ... It's not conducive to wheelchair access ... But employees are so super helpful that it doesn't really matter and this is one place I'd personally never ask to change or file a complaint against! Glut is awesome!

Keva P: Glut has a great variety of nuts and seeds. They had a good amount of fresh fruits. They didn't have a large variety of fresh vegetables. It is a cozy business with friendly employees.

Whole Foods Market: what do users think?

nick GERARDO: Whole Foods is by far my top grocery stores but could not give this one five stars. Hard to find products and my biggest complaint is the customer service. I really try/ hardly ask for help. I could not find the water for the life of me, so I decided to ask for help. Man the employee acted like I was asking him some random questions that doesn’t have to do with Whole Foods. Then when I went to check out I got a whole pizza and the price sticker fell off. The employee made get out of line and go get the sticker. Mind blowing. These Whole Foods needs a lot of work.
Response: Thanks for bringing this to our attention, Nick. We're sorry to hear about your experience you had during your recent trip, and we would like to look into this issue further. Please feel free to contact us directly at wfm.com/help with any additional details.

Eye Heru: The customer service here is hit or miss, most days though, it’s a miss. Most employees are not knowledgeable of the products. And some employees do not handle products with the proper sanitary care ie - seafood and deli (please change your gloves after touching meat products and moving on to dairy. Also please wrap the seafood products properly to avoid leakage. And do not use the same gloves to wrap the food that you used to cut the fish. The raw fish is on your gloves that you touch and spread to the outside of the wrapper that a customer now places in their cart. On the flip side, every experience I’ve had with the cheese and wine department has been very good. Now the quality of most products and food here is great. Though the standards aren’t what they use to be it’s still Whole Foods. The store also is a little compact compared to most Whole Foods. If there were more space I think this would be a ideal spot for a PLNT burger.

Khurram Sheharyar: Lots of fresh veggies, poultry, dairy, seafood and meat varieties available. Plus a cute little nursery near the exit offering a wide variety of plants to purchase. Highly recommended!
Response: We're happy to hear you enjoy shopping with us! We appreciate the awesome review, Khurram.

Matt R: There are a few reasons I tend to shop here. First, the parking structure isn’t ridiculously tight like a lot of them are (tip, enter from the back, it’s much less crowded). Second, they have a great beer and wine selection. The staff is helpful, too.

princess peach: This place is prettttty over priced. Average price for a TV dinner was 6$. Um no. Very crowded but my God why are the aisles so tiny ? Shopping here is hell and will leave you broke. Back to Wegmans I go.

Ali Ibrahim: Great place! Friendly staff! Little pricier than giant but high quality organic products!! I have been using the salad bar for lunch and I am loving it! The selection is huge and great quality! I get a great salad within my budget of $10 ! There is also a nice seating area where you can get coffee or a beer if you like! I didn’t like the bathrooms in the cafeteria area! I have pictures but I won’t post them here! But i hope they will give the bathrooms some TLC! It’s a shame such a beautiful and clean store have such a nasty bathroom! can you imagine an employee going to the bathroom that has leaking water all over the floor dragging all those germs on his shoes near your food in the kitchen and everywhere? Hence the 4 stars! Please fix the bathroom!

Hanna Foreman: Convenient location right next to the metro. However, there never seem to be enough people staffing the check out lines and there’s always a 10+ minute wait to check out even when you have one item in the express lane. Depending on the day some customers aren’t wearing masks properly.

Abigail Slagle: Made the mistake of coming here to pick up less than 10 items at 1pm on a Sunday. What should have been a quick 10 minute grocery run took an hour. I waited in line for 40 minutes here. There were 2 registers open, although there were numerous store employees around, just no cashiers apparently. I will not be back to this horribly mis-managed location. Don’t waste your time here like I did.
Response: Hi Abigail, we apologize about your experience at your local store. We have shared your feedback with store leadership. Thank you for taking the time to share with us.

Stephen Griffin: This is our neighborhood Whole Foods, about a 5 min walk from our house. I like the size and the staff is very helpful - especially the meat and fish counter staff. In general the produce is ok with one *very big* exception. Inevitably, the pre-packaged lettuce mixes (spring mix, etc) have at least one variety that is slimy and ruins the rest. In other Whole Food stores the mixes are ok. The problem likely comes from poor drying, overly dense packing or storing at too low a temperature before putting them out on the shelf.
Response: Thank you for taking the time to leave us this review, Stephen. We're glad to have you shop with us!

Dana Savage: My favorite grocery store in the area for most things. Their butcher and fish monger are both very knowledgeable and generally have a great selection.

Whole Foods Market: what do users think?

Clark Higgs: far the dirtiest whole foods store that I've ever been in. Some of their staff seem to have an "I don't care" attitude. After shopping, I stood in the coffee line for 15 minutes before I was waiting on by the only attendant working who made the following comment to another customer "there needs to be three people working at the coffee stand at all times". A new management team is suggested for this place, I will not return.
Response: We're so sorry you were disappointed on your recent visit, Clark. Please visit http://wfm.com/help to send us further details and our team would be happy to review your feedback.

Hilda Kroll: I think it's great to have a supermarket across the street from the Foggy Bottom Metro. I usually get something in the bakery before heading for home when I'm in the area. Today I met a friend for coffee before going to the nearby Textile Museum. I got there first and didn't have a problem getting a cup of coffee. My friend came later, stood on line for fifteen minutes to get a cup of decaf, and refuses to go back. If you have the time, coffee and the choice of so many good pastries is a good deal. If you're in a rush, go somewhere else and pay twice as much.

Jeff: I'm stuned a whole food with a line wrapping around the store? Are you kidding me unreal. Never again to this very sad of an excuse to have this hanging. Can see the line on one side of the store and registers on the other. Freak show.

Win Anderson: This great review is solely because of the wonderful barista at the coffee shop. I was in town for a conference and went to whole foods three days in a row for coffee in the morning. Each day Tom provided wonderful coffee and friendly service. He is polite and personable and efficient. (This was in stark contrast to some of the register checkout clerks, who were downright rude.). The police officers were very friendly!

Cyndy Nguyen: I came here for the coffee bar and had a wonderful experience. The barista, Tom, was friendly and helpful. He gave me some information about the decaf coffee (doesn’t contain any chemicals). He gave me a sample of one of their green smoothies and made me a delicious brown butter cookie latte. I’ll come back for the great customer service.
Response: We truly appreciate you sharing your feedback with us, Cyndy. We are thrilled to hear of the amazing experience you received at the Foggy Bottom store, and will gladly share your feedback with the appropriate leadership so Tom can get the kudos they deserve!

Kevin Russell: Is a big store. I can buy my whole octopus here which makes me happy. Great seafood and meats department. Used to be really long check out lines but now the converted many to self check out and it seems much faster. I'm not the guy who loves Whole Foods but as for the stores I have been to, this one is a good one
Response: We appreciate your support, Kevin. We are delighted to hear how great your experience was and we hope you enjoy the rest of your day!

Barry Bub: I am usually willing to pay more at a Whole Foods market because I generally enjoy the shopping experience there. This particular store not, for a number of reasons. Here’s one. When I asked the checkout person, politely, to tape the lid of the soup container to prevent it coming off - I had a long walk home - she yelled at me and stormed off. She was replaced by male who told me they no no longer tape or rubber band lids. I guess the few seconds it takes to do so eats into their profits. And what has happened to customer service? I agree with the previous reviewer, it’s a management or corporate problem.
Response: We're so sorry you were disappointed on your recent visit, Barry. Please visit http://wfm.com/help to send us further details and our team would be happy to review your feedback.

Melissa Colón: I love stopping by the coffee bar for my daily fix. My drink is always perfectly made and the conversation is great! I’m hoping that eventually the hot bar breakfast will work its way back up to how great it was pre-pandemic.
Response: We're pleased to hear you enjoy our coffee bar, Melissa. Thank you for shopping with us!

Natalia Delgado: Had a really had experience at this location. We were accused of stealing by the manager just because we had our own cart with groceries from trader joes. The grocery store is 15 minutes from where we live and we go walking so we have no other option than to go to both stores in one trip. He made us feel very uncomfortable the whole time and followed us throughout the store. Another person had their own cart and was putting groceries in there but it didn’t seem like he said anything to them while we had our whole foods items in a separate basket. He approached again at checkout (after making it very obvious that he was talking about us with another employee) and said we couldn’t bring our own cart because “it confuses the employees”. I explained that we had a receipt for the groceries we had in our cart but he didn’t seen to care. We don’t have the luxury of a car or leaving nearby the store and we had never had any problems with going to two stores in one trip with our cart.
Response: We're so sorry you were disappointed with your recent visit, Natalia. Please visit http://wfm.com/help to send us further details and our team would be happy to review your feedback.

Caroline McGuire: Tom makes the best smoothies at the coffee & smoothie bar! The whole staff is amazing and the store is always so well organized. Cannot recommend this spot enough!
Response: We appreciate your support, Caroline. We are delighted to hear how great your experience was and we hope you enjoy the rest of your day!

Yes! Organic Market - 14th St.: what do users think?

Griffin Duy: Yes organic is a great staple of the city and has great products and holistic options. Somewhat pricey but worth it most of the time. On the other hand...there's something about this location that's...off. Employees have no personality whatsoever and barely respond to you when you try to converse or ask them something. Like zero customer service skills, at all. I understand if people are new but, it's kind of awkward in there. Suggestion to management would be holding customer service seminars and classes or just have peppy meetings to get the morale up.

Nils Hünerfürst: Lovely place. No to much and no to less stuff inside.

Constance313: Great neighborhood organic market. Their wine selection isn't as large as some of the other locations but they have Wine Down Wednesday with $1.00 off every bottle of wine!

Lord Babington: Very pricey -- and quality does not really justify it. Even found some (packaged) stuff that's nearing expiration date and don't look great. Only end up there when line at Trader Joe's is too long. Best thing about it is usually short lines.

Miles Harter: My (male) fiancé and I recently had a very uncomfortable encounter at the Yes! Organic store on 14th Street, on Thursday the 27th, at about 7 pm. Two male employees were speaking in Spanish and Portuguese, and were derogatorily referring to me as the "wife" waiting outside, with our dog. They apparently remember us from many other shopping visits. They also were making fun of the physical appearance of the woman standing outside near me. It turns out that they have, in the past, disparaged my client's wardrobe choices. My fiancé is fluent in Spanish and Portuguese and understands every word that they have said. Although we have been VERY frequent customers since moving here early this year, we will unlikely go to the store again, and will just go two blocks south to Trader Joe's.

Epernay Kyles: I love this grocery store. Their soups are always fresh and delicious. Staff is friendly and helpful. And you can refill water containers for 39 cents a gallon. I also love the in house freshly made sushi and wine collection.

Clair Wholean: Way better than Whole Foods. Great selection of specialty products. You can get flax oil, unusual pickled veggies, vegan jerky, sushi & sprouts that other stores do not carry.

Tanya L. Covington: Small but everything fresh and wholesome is right at your fingertips. Nice staff. Prepared foods. Soup. Coffee. Good things come in small places. Recommend. Convenient.

Rahul Sharma: 1. Small chic store. 2. 2 times they sold me product past the expiration but they refunded me the money without receipt. 3. Nice fresh organic vegetables and fruits. I like the Asian sweet potatoes which I dont find in Giant, Costco, etc.

Sarah Wisseman: Wonderful staff who are receptive to product recommendations. It's great to have a market with the organic and natural foods/drinks/supplements I want so easily accessible. It is a little expensive, but that's to be expected at a market that emphasizes higher quality products.

Petworth Ace Hardware: what do users think?

danceswithcars w: While the renamed store still hosts TheBikeHouse on the edge of the parking lot and tools inside, not much else has changed, afaict, still kind of unpaid day laborers in relation to a for profit store. When at Qualia it was coffee/light foods and taking over the back yard. This tools, supplies and learning some basic mechanics. How to change a flat. How a ratchet works. On up through what can be done with bikes... At times I wish TBH would takeover a foreclosed property and have a home... Until then I guess buy cold sweet liquids while baking to death in the heat without bathroom nor filtered cold water access. FWIW I was at the (original) opening with council member(s), food truck, etc. District HW (w 🚲), old Capital Hill Fragers that burned, saw deceased mayor there, etc.

Mark Pry: Excellent hardware store in the Petworth area that typically has everything I need. The staff are friendly and helpful. Chris was especially helpful when I needed to grab a few bags of mulch!
Response: It’s so kind of you to leave this review Mary, thank you for shopping and supporting our store! We will make sure our manager knows Chris provided exceptional service. Have a wonderful day, we look forward to helping you in store on your next visit!

Kerry Keys: Staff have been friendly and helpful to me on several occasions. Chris was a great help recently when I needed to find the right size screw for my bike rack.
Response: Thank you Kerry! We are glad to have customers like you who shop and support our store and staff.

Denise W: Same nice store but they got rid of my favorite guy, Steve, who had been at that location for years. No one there has the knowledge he had.
Response: Thanks so much for the kind words about the store and for one of our knowledgeable Petworth Ace Hardware staff! We pride ourselves on being the helpful hardware folks and are always training new staff to try and fill the shoes of those who go on to pursue other opportunities. Thank you for the feedback!

mat t: Great having a shop close to home, open on Sundays, have what I want, friendly staff and not expensive. Done and back to the game! Thanks Ace and jneely!
Response: Thanks Mat! Love to hear we can get you the products you need with the convenience of being in the neighborhood. We hope you'll stop by and see us again soon.

James Rayford: The service was horrible. After standing in the isle for 8 to ten minutes I had go get someone and his response was go get it bring it here. Then finally coming to help with one item only he disappeared. So I walked out.
Response: HI James, thank you for taking the time to leave this feedback. We rely on customers like you to ensure our store continues to be a neighborhood resource for our community. I am passing your comments along to our store manager, who will address this with his team. Fridays are our truck days and our staff is often tasked with multiple projects to ensure the products make their way to the shelves, but that does not excuse the kind of service you described. We expect the best from our team and we're disappointed to hear you received anything less than what's promised. Please feel free to send any additional comments or information to our manager directly at toby@acehardwaredc.com. We want to make this up to you and hope you'll stop by and give us another chance.

Daniel Alexander: The first time I came to this location, I received excellent help in finding the right size nail for a small drawer. But today, despite the store not being very busy, no one offered much help in me trying to decide on plants or planters. Fine, I can do it myself. But then the plastic plate rang up for over twice the actual price. And none of the plastic planters have any prices, so I ended up returning everything and leaving with only time wasted - if I can't trust the register to ring up one item properly (aka theft) then I think the other prices might be wrong (or just way overpriced for some cheap plastic planters).
Response: Thanks for taking the time to leave feedback, Daniel. Your comments help us improve our store. We pride ourselves in our customer service and we are sorry to hear you did not receive the kind of service you'd come to expect from our store and staff. Mondays are our truck days and staff can become distracted by shelving tasks, but their priority is always our customers. We will pass your comments along to the management team for review. Per the planters, we have recently received a lot of new inventory in and staff are working to tag these items appropriately. Some items also get shuffled around by customers and occasionally are misplaced with the incorrect label. We price our items appropriately based on market trends and many household items have gone up in price during the pandemic as a result of increased tariffs, shipping restraints are resource availability. We hope you'll give us another chance soon. Thanks for shopping and supporting local at Petworth Ace.

Ian C: Great selection and friendly staff. Chris helped me find the weird bolt I was looking for very quickly!
Response: Hi Ian We’re happy to hear you had a great experience and are pleased with the workmanship. Thanks for taking the time give us the wonderful review. We appreciate your trust and look forward to serving you again soon.

James Knupp: Everyone is always friendly when I go, Chris in particular has helped me out quite a bit.
Response: Thank you James, for shopping and supporting local (and for the staff shoutout)!

Rinaldo Pressley (Rinny): Nice Hardware store in the neighbourhood prices as low as the Big competitors.
Response: Rinaldo, thank you for taking the time to share your kind words about Petworth Ace Hardware. We value your business and look forward to seeing you again soon!

Whole Foods Market: what do users think?

Kev- keepingitreal: Great place to shop for all your groceries needs. Whole Foods Market offers a variety of fresh fruits and vegetables to choose from, they also offer a place to return your Amazon order for a Amazon pickup this really convenient. Whole Foods Market store was clean, shelf was pretty well organized and stock, staff was very friendly and helpful. This store offers free underground parking to customers. The parking garage is located on 6th Street.

Joshua D App: Stopped by today to pick up pizza near closing time on a Monday night. Even with all the usual clean up rush, Diva (I believe that’s her name as it was through a mask) was very pleasant and helpful even though she had limited time and ingredients left and at the end of her shift. Extra stars for her! The rest of the store is as you would expect from a Whole Foods

ŞîMØ 𓂀 ÅĐĄ: Great place to shop for all your groceries needs.
Response: We appreciate your support. We are delighted to hear how great your experience was and we hope you enjoy the rest of your day!

Anthony Scott: I like shopping here. The store is clean and well organized. The food prices are a little high, but they are of good quality. I do recommend this location. The only negative thing was an employee using foul language, but everything can't be perfect!

Kathy Thomas: My entire experience at Whole Foods, was great. First off, there was plenty of parking, my son easily found a spot in their parking garage, which leads right into their store. You get a parking ticket and can park 90 minutes, free. The store was huge, there were plenty of carts. The fresh fish and meat were great, and we purchased a good amount of fresh salmon, and other seafood. I found everything I needed to cook for my son and I, which is huge. Fresh produce was great, I got fresh collard greens, kale, green beans, spinach, onions, to name a few. They also had personal items.
Response: Thank you for your wonderful feedback, Kathy. We hope to welcome you and your family again soon!

Stephanie Enaje: One of my go-to Whole Foods since they opened. Staff is always kind. Lines always go fast. Just a tidbit, the high PH water refill had/has a metallic taste that was off-putting hopefully management addressed it.
Response: We thank you for stopping by and for leaving a review, Stephanie.

Anthony Alexander: This is the worst Whole Foods I have ever been to in my life. Tried to give it a year but after hearing profanity from the store clerks joking around with each other for the 5th time, I have had it. The food is often not fresh. They do not replenish produce shelves and will leave wilted products out. The hot bar is always unkept with food that has been out too long and it tastes horrible even when its fresh. The pizza is always old and whole pies are sitting there with coagulated grease because it looks unappetizing, Every day the hot bar, pizza and deli are the same. No variety. I have gone to other Whole foods in DC and it is not like this- so it is THIS H street location. The customer service is horrible. There was a person working in the vitamin section and asked about some calcium and he was like "I dunno, just look around.". You never see any new products like you do at other whole foods. Once I got ice cream home and it was melted already (I only live a block from the store) . The deli counter people are NEVER at the counter. They are always in back and seem put out when you want to buys something. The manager of this store should be fired. Please investigate this store. It gives Whole Foods a bad name.
Response: Thanks for bringing this to our attention, Anthony. We're sorry to hear about your experience with our team members, and we would like to look into this issue further. Please feel free to contact us directly at wfm.com/help with any additional details.

Kimberly Arias: I don't want to give this place a 1 star but I have to, given the amount of times the people running the registers have done me wrong. I don't know what's going on here. 1) About 2 years ago, I bought an Amazon gift card for my cousin and come to find out, the person who checked me out at the register never activated it. I had to go in person, prove I bought it (thank goodness the manager was able to pull up my receipt from their system) and then they activated a new one for me. This was a waste of time but it's ok. A one time fluke is fine...or so I thought. 2) Last year, I bought another gift card (Nordstroms) for my bf's mom. Same thing happened again, not activated. This time I kept all receipts (knowing what happened to me before) and was able to give them to my bf's mom so that she could fight this battle lol. Nordstroms honored the gift card. But now I'm thinking something is fishy because Whole Foods H Street has now sold me 2 different gift cards with $0 value on them. 3) I made an Amazon return to this store on February 17, 2022. I returned a Nike women's soccer jersey and the lady at customer service scanned my barcode and collected my return. I received an email saying my money is on the way, as per usual. I thought everything was fine. Fast forward nearly 2 months, and today, I get an email from Amazon saying they never received the jersey and instead, received other items like a "glove" which I never purchased by the way. So Amazon is now charging me once more for the jersey, which I handed to the Whole Foods lady and I no longer have! So I don't know if she misplaced the returns, mixed them up, or if somehow the jersey has gone missing. I just know that I turned it into this store, my barcode was scanned, I have receipts. Any mishandling is on this store and yet, I'm getting charged for it. For what it's worth, I love everything else about this place: it's clean, well stocked, and the employees are honestly friendly. But there are now 3 instances where this store has put my money at risk so I now find it hard to trust the customer service folks. Overall, just keep your receipts from this place especially for gift cards and double check your returns. I'm sure I'm not the only one with these types of experiences.
Response: We're so sorry about these experiences. Please visit http://wfm.com/help to send us further details and our team would be happy to review your feedback.

Jairo Josephine: It's a good place to shop but they have changed the recipe of their famous Norwegian Heaven Cake. It tastes like a commercialized chocolate cake from shoppers, Safeway, Walmart, and giant. I have tried it at four different Whole Foods in the DMV area, and the results are the same.

Frank DC Tinsley: Whole Foods on 600 H St NE in Washington DC is a Amazing Store, the Customer Service is great, and employees are nice, and Whole Foods is also Clean, and has great products such as fresh foods,to nice essentials:)it's amazing foods got so much great tastes, you'll be coming back for more in no time, it's also fast in there too,not much waiting, definitely a must shop:)
Response: Thank you for shopping with us, Frank! We hope to see you again soon!

Frager's Hardware: what do users think?

Fred Gamble Jr: I bought the XL Big Green Egg display model and was handled by Hannah who was so nice and courteous to me! She not only handled my transaction with a smile, but ensured that my delivery would be seamless. Kyle and Mateo came to my home and were two of the nicest delivery professionals I ever encountered. Its so nice to have a local hardware store which I can trust and do business. Frager's Ace Hardware has earned my business and they will earn yours too.
Response: What a wonderful review Fred! Thank you for trusting us with your purchase. So glad to hear such wonderful things about our employees- we'll be share these comments along to our team. Happy holidays to you!

Audrey Lester: Blind Customer: I increased shopping here during pandemic, as it’s in my community. On nearly all visits, I’m greeted at front door by a very knowledgeable staff member. I love how they know where every item is specifically located - like really! Upon entry, you’re on main isle. To your left are short isles leading to registers. Staff always escort me through store or to elevator where I’m met by another team member on lower level. Ayesha, General Manager, allows items to be opened for me when possible so I can feel item. I especially love their text message lime where consumers can ask questions before visiting store. Great Team!
Response: It's so great to hear from you Audrey, thank you for taking the time to share your experience. We're so glad our staff provide exceptional customer service that makes shopping a pleasure. Thank you for being a customer- we look forward to your next visit!

Amy Chiou: The people here are so nice and helpful. They always know where to find things in the store. It's a classic hardware store with the added bonus of fun and quirky household goods and gifts.
Response: We love quirk! Thanks for shopping with us over the big boxes, we are glad to have customers like you who shop and support local.

Michael uthe: The store with more. Walked in and thought was small. But as I got farther in it opened up to huge room with a downstairs and outdoor garden section. Truly awesome and amazing staff.
Response: Hi Michael! Thanks so much for the kind words and for shopping local! We love that you had such a great experience! Our team looks forward to seeing you again in the near future.

Hope Greenleaf: Great shop with a large selection of plants, gifts, household items, and hardware. Friendly helpful staff!
Response: Thanks for choosing Frager's Ace Hardware and for leaving such a great review, Hope! It's good to know that we were able to provide you with a great selection and the highest level of service. We look forward to your next visit!

Stephanie Sneary: Very friendly and knowledgeable staff. The store often carries products you can’t find at larger stores— for instance I recently had need for a shorter length of 14/2 electrical wire that I found here.
Response: We love to hear that we can outsource our competition! Thanks for shopping and supporting Frager's.

koura Gibson: Disappointed to be rudely treated for “walking into store” before opening. The door was wide opened and I entered only to be charged aggressively by the 3 attending employees, shouting for me to exit. I had to calm them down of their excitement to reprimand me for entering the store. There was no indication that the store was not opened. No hours were posted ether. Then the older guy rudely and aggressively closed the door as I exited. He then snarkly stated “I guess!” When informing him that 8:00 was in 14 minutes. It was really disappointing to have to endure such rudeness in the morning.

Al Boyd: Customer service, was excellent. But I didn't appreciate being mistaken for a thief. I had the receipt was in my bag. I am a retired police officer, I don't need too steal anything from anyone.
Response: Thanks for taking the time to leave a review. We hope you'll shop local with us again soon!

Kristin Roesch: William was so helpful in matching a specific furniture screw I needed for a Murphy bed. He answered all of my novice questions and was so funny and kind. He also helped with copying a house key.
Response: Thank you Kristin! William has been with us a long time, we're glad to have him on our team! We appreciate your business, hope you'll shop with us again soon.

Nathan Deunk: Very convenient location, and they've really improved the store since they moved locations. Unfortunately, Fragers employees and contractors consistently endanger the residents of the surrounding community by illegally parking on both 11th SE and Pennsylvania SE. I can't support a store that cares so little for their neighbors, especially when those neighbors are their customers.

Greenstreet Gardens of Virginia: what do users think?

Kerrin Nishimura: Wonderful selection of plants including natives. Very knowledgeable staff and the prices are reasonable. The quality of the plants is excellent. They put a lot of effort into their care so you never have to worry about getting inferior stock. They do a pumpkin patch in the fall and have a great little gift shop with lots of cute stuff. I love coming here because I can always find something new and interesting to buy.
Response: Thank you so much for your review and positive feedback! It really helps us tailor to the needs of our customers. Happy gardening 🌱 !

Kate Downs: Always well stocked , great deals, pleasant staff. Definitely a must visit for all your gardening needs. Great Xmas trees and poinsettias too when the season calls for it
Response: Thank you, Kate! We appreciate our customers and love a great review! We look forward to seeing you again!

Ahuva Battams: What a wonderful garden center. Lots of variety and lovely plants. Cam helped me repot my succulents and wow they look amazing. Happy happy plants. She was so nice and knowledgeable. I'll definitely be back!
Response: We are so glad you are happy with your repotting! We look forward to seeing you in the Gardens again!

Alisha R.: Thank you to all the staff for being so kind and helpful today, going above and beyond their job description. And the ficus they potted for me (graciously twice - I dropped it the first time) looks amazing in my living room.
Response: That’s fantastic! Thanks so much for your kind review and enjoy your Ficus!

Tailor Mayne: I’ve purchased many plants here over the years and my experience is always top tier. I love their house plants and they have the occasional rare table set up with all the goodies! I always stop by just to grab a plant with some character since they are at such a reasonable price or just for a peaceful walk around and look. Love this little gem hidden in Nova!

CB DCDiva: Tucked away and looking like a tiny hobbit hole, this nursery is much larger on the inside! With tons if options for inside and out, the plants were healthy and plentiful. The new veggie seedlings were in various sizes and good selection. Now parking? The tiniest parking lot offers free parking but it is hard to maneuver with lots of bagged products taking up spaces. However, if you need a variety of compost options, they have you covered.
Response: Thank you for your very nice review and your business. Have a great gardening season. Ray Greenstreet

Sarah Bennett: I just want to say this place is amazing. Their Christmas tree selection is beautiful. They have every size you could possibly want. We unfortunately had a leak from the re-usable stand we purchased and they even offered to come to our apartment and replace it for us! What amazing customer service. We will definitely be coming back in the spring in hopes to find some micro greens and other plants!
Response: Thanks for your kind review Sarah! Hope to see you again soon

Carolina Sarmiento N.: This is the best nursery ever!!! We love the people who work here. Everyone is very friendly and knowledgeable. They have beautiful flowers and the quality of their plants are excellent. We have never had a problem with any of the trees, perennials and annuals plants. We definitely recommend this place. Here are some pictures with their flowers in our townhouse patio.
Response: Thank you so much for your kind review Carolina! Happy Gardening!

Dan Solley: Had the absolute best afternoon picking out plants and flowers for our new flower box. As two novice green thumbs, we walked in clueless. But thanks to the awesome advice, guidance, and attention that was given by Scott, we walked out as complete experts. He helped us through the whole process, answering questions and teaching us and helping us pick out ideal plants for our situation. He literally spent our entire visit with us, up until and through the checkout process. I’m now a big Greenstreet fan, but an even bigger Scott fan!
Response: Thank you for your business and very nice review. Scott does a great job with customers and all his gardening knowledge. Have a great season. Ray Greenstreet.

Leah Jenika: Shopped here for years to purchase houseplants and to pay for them to be potted in my pots from home so I didn't have to purchase a bag of dirt that would eventually end up in my apt closet. Last year new staff refused to pot my chosen plant in my planter without a hole in it because my plant was not the ideal size. The first 2 times reluctantly did it but with a superior attitude and the third time they said they wouldn't do it. Some customer service wow! I appreciate recommendations for what is ideal but I don't understand refusing service. Owner said to come back and call him if needed because he understood that some people know how to not over water without a drainage hole, but that was my third time and I didn't want to try again with no guarantee of customer service. In fact, I'll betcha many people with ideal size plants and pots with holes are often overwatering their plants and killing them, which is what keeps you in business. So if you are the plant police go to everyone's house. My houseplants have always been healthy and last years. Used to be so relaxing and inviting to go there for my houseplants. I've never been so badly treated by any store let alone a garden center.

Annie's Ace Hardware - Brookland: what do users think?

hahahas lkjhgg: Well stocked. And variety of items to choose from. The staff are always friendly. Every time I go there they will assist me with smiles on their faces. Highly recommend!

Nick Ewing: I always try to do my hardware shopping in this location. Employees are incredibly friendly and knowledgeable. Store is always well cleaned and well stocked. Perfect location to drop off UPS packages as well!
Response: So glad to hear it Nick, thank you for shopping with us!

Dure Kim: Well stocked.Would recommend moving the chainsaw files and chainsaw chains next to the chainsaws. They're currently next to the bbq/kitchen stuff. Hope this gets chained soon.

Chris Aresu: A+ neighborhood hardware store. The staff is very knowledgeable, and has provided help on a number of home projects where I’ve been stuck. Definitely recommend.

Lou Feagans (Louie): Nice selection of products, clean helpful shopping environment. However, they do not respect the Brookland neighborhood and place signs illegally on street lights and blocking sidewalks. Can not recommend supporting a business that does not respect the neighborhood within which it operates.

Sharon Winget: Another reason why I love this hardware store--amazing customer service. Today they accepted the return of a product I purchased there more than one month ago, without the receipt. Turns out if you use your Ace Rewards # on purchases they have a record of it. On multiple occasions I have turned to them after a frustrating experience at Lowe's or HD and received personalized service from one of their many knowledgeable staff to find what I needed or to get helpful suggestions or directions on how to get something done, ie paint my kitchen cabinets. Can't recommend these folks highly enough.

Stephan Roberts: Amazing service! I accidentally ordered the wrong thing for a project and Thomas and the rest of the staff made sure I got what I needed and delivered it the same day.

Conor O'Brien: A+ customer service It’s not the biggest hardware store, but they have an impressive amount of tools and supplies in the shop. Really helpful with regard to lawn care projects in particular. Great knowledge of local soil and the best grass seed for the hot summers.

Anelise Cimino: This is my go to place for any household thing I need. It always has everything and is always stocked. But what makes me give this place five stars is the customer service. Everyone, and I mean everyone, is extremely nice, helpful and neighborly. I love going in with my dogs and saying hello. It brightens up my day to go in there and THAT'S a rare thing these days.

Lisa-Marie Brandt: Wonderful experience at this Annie's. Needed some screws and the person working in that aisle really helped me a lot. He took the time to listen and find just what I needed, and I solved my furniture problem when I got home! Thanks to the staff, who are all really helpful and nice! Will be returning for any future hardware/garden issues.

MOM's Organic Market: what do users think?

Sassy Sauce: This market is always clean, well stocked and the staff is always friendly. They have great customer service and are always willing to help find products and make suggestions about items they may have on sale or items they have tried personally. This store is never overcrowded and it’s easy to get in and out. When there is more foot traffic they always have every cashier line open and the wait is minimal. The store can be a little expensive but the products are really good quality and they’re mostly organic or responsibly sourced types foods and products. I’m a big fan of the soaps and hair care products. I like to try different items each time.

Chanpen Tee: The store is very nice and clean. There are not many people here. The staff is nice

shadowdragon1000: Store was fine and the staff was polite. The store is rather pricey though. Parking was really stupid. Street pay machine was broken so they directed us to park inside which was twice as expensive. Downgraded from four stars because of this.
Response: Hi! You are welcome to park in the garage, and we will validate your parking after making a purchase. Just let the cashier know that you need your parking validated. Take care, Erin

Tamirat Ingida: Excellent customer service. The food test like real food. Naked lunch service area are extremely friendly! Thanks mom’s organic

Marc Bretzfelder: Great for esoteric stuff and vegan food. Good sales. Staples often cheaper than Whole Foods, especially during a sale. Produce is pricey.

Rose Devereux: Wonderful staff, immaculate store, quality food. I live way uptown, but pledge to show this location more love in 2022 and beyond.😍

green RITA: The Jammed Yam at their NAKED LUNCH counter is my favorite.I do their bulk foods, nut milks & Larabars, Daiya cheeses, smoked mussels, cottage cheese, kim chi, kale, etc but mostly cherry pick the sales.

Jessica H: Always fresh! I love being able to buy products in bulk when setting up a big brunch at home.

Sparsh Gupta: Fresh organic produce and a lot of healthy options. Free parking in the garage and can be validated by the store.

Angel Yi: Mosquitoes and huge flies love this place! It smells really good in here. The flour section needs a good cleaning. More fresh produce needed today, but usually an OK selection.

Adams Morgan Ace Hardware: what do users think?

Megan Tebbenhoff: Everyone at this Ace Hardware is incredibly kind, helpful, and knowledgeable! I went in seeking a screw that would fit a warped sleeve in a new piece of furniture, and Chris went above and beyond to help me fix my problem. He asked me to bring in my furniture, offered me a dolly to wheel it in from my car, and used some tools free of charge at the store to help get the screw properly threaded so I could finish building my furniture. It was so kind of him to offer his assistance, I likely would have had to exchange the furniture if I didn’t have his help. I have come to this location a few times and I have always been incredibly impressed by the service. Huge thank you to Chris!
Response: These are the kinds of stories we love to hear from our customers- so glad our team was able to help you and go the extra mile! We love helping our customers problem solve - thanks for trusting our expertise! Have a wonderful week.

Sarah Parker: Everyone here is incredibly nice and helpful! Someone very nicely greeted me as I walked in, and then Chris was super friendly and efficient in making some keys for me, and Lawrence was really friendly too! This is a super competent, customer service centered team, and they made my day with how nice they were!!

Response: Jessa, we appreciate the time you took to leave your great review for Adams Morgan Ace Hardware and our staff! We love creating raving fans and will work to continue going above and beyond for you! Thanks again, and we look forward to seeing you again soon at our employee-owned store.

Jessica C: I take my dog here twice a week while I browse their new plant selections. The staff are all so nice and helpful. I love that they shower my dog with attention. My dog loves it too. She always tries to drag me in for treats. They have a great plant selection. They change things up but you can usually find a good array of basics and less common plants. They often have small hoyas, peperomias, aglaonemas, and other stuff I’m looking for. I always look forward to checking out the new stock on Wednesday and Friday. Thanks, Ace
Response: Jessica, we're delighted to hear about your 5-star experience at Adams Morgan Ace Hardware! Thanks again and we look forward to seeing you again soon.

Mattie Solomon: Every time I go to this Ace Hardware EVERYONE on the staff is so incredibly helpful and nice! I came in to get help on a piece of furniture with a striped nail, and Chris at the store was THE BEST!! We tried to get this screw out on our own and weren't successful, and we wouldn't have been able to do it without Chris' help!
Response: These are the stories we love to hear- thanks for supporting our employee owned store, and for the staff shoutout!

Yes! Organic Market - Adams Morgan: what do users think?

Indi Redd: I found this cute store by simply browsing the streets but what was a “cute store” turned into a very uncomfortable space. As soon as I walked into the building I was greeted fairly warmly by three individuals but as I started to browse I found that I couldn’t go anywhere in the store without being asked if I needed assistance. Please note that there was a couple of fair skinned individual shopping as well. At 1st I thought they were trying to be helpful but after the 10th time being asked (not exaggerating) I recognized a tension in the air and quickly realized that I was being racial profiled. I couldn’t go down any isle without being followed (I even set my backpack down in the front of the store mid-shopping to see if that would ease the tension; however, they continued to follow me. I ended up buying some apples and bananas before quickly exiting the store. I had an absolutely terrible experience and warn anyone that’s melinated to be aware of this if you choose to go here. There’s no reason for anyone to have to experience this types of micro aggressions.

Elizabeth Arias: The owner OR MANAGER so mean. The store too small and more expensive than the other ones and another one I can't pay stamp bonus or snap. I don't have problems with another's STORES YES and that store columbia rd they said no accept snap card was surprised for me.im not was satisfied that store.I LOVE SHOPPING YES STORES I DONT HAVE COMPLAINED ANY STORE THE PEOPLE VERY NICE AND GOOD SERVICES A EXCEPTION COLUMBIA RD.

Emma Collins: I absolutely love this place. Everyone who works here is extremely kind. They have hard-to-find natural products and health products. And excellent customer service!

Sean Sapolich: We like having Yes! as an option for smaller trips during the week. They have a pretty good frozen vegan section including proteins and ice cream. The selection can be a bit limited but we've found a few favorites not offered in other stores. It's definitely a bit more expensive than other local options.

Denyse Elkins: Great little store full of natural foods and wonderful finds! I can't wait to go back for more blueberry granola!!!

Rimma Shiptsova: They are cozy and always have stuff that’s hard to find in regular supermarkets such as coconut sugar, local honey or organic brussel sprouts

Colden Franklin: Friendly staff, good selection, and locally owned.

Zoe Willingham: I started shopping here after the pandemic because they are very good at observing safety protocols. I feel safe there and the staff are very helpful. The only downside is the selection is somewhat limited.

Sarah Scott: Great place to fill up your own containers with dry goods! I get all my dry stuff here (spices, rice, granola, etc) super cute store, one of the best things about my neighborhood.

Jessica Capps: It's a small neighborhood store and incredibly convenient. As a vegetarian, they have everything I want from the fresh produce to the Amy's frozen food. They even carried Matzah during Passover which I really appreciated. It is a bit more expensive than supermarkets, but it works for me.
