Ginkgo Gardens: what do users think?

Kristen Diaz: Just moved here from Miami & have been searching for a new fav plant shop. Ive explored so many & this one is definitely it! Great selection of plants at reasonable prices. They have an outdoor & indoor section plus an upstairs portion. I’ve gotten so many plants from here already. The staff is also friendly & helpful. Recommend.

Scott Nguyen: Some of the plants sold here did not have any roots, so what chance do they have in surviving? The other plant we bought was fine though, still this nursery need to either check their greenhouse or suppliers for rooted plants.

a: I finally had the chance to stop by Ginkgo Gardens, and it completely exceeded my expectations. There is a WIDE variety of plants, planters, tools, and more! During checkout, I told the man I was just beginning my gardening journey and he pulled out this book to help me with the plants I bought today! Thank you so much for the amazing experience and exceptional customer service. This isn’t the closest plant nursery to me, but it is 100% worth the trip. I will definitely be back soon!

Ashley Stewart: Ginkgo Gardens is a cozy neighborhood plant store where I get almost all of my houseplants and planters. They also have a wide selection if outdoor plants. The staff are friendly and helpful, and the plants are beautiful. Sometimes I just visit the store for some pleasant browsing.

Sheree P: I was recently in an unfortunately common predicament. My husband was on a business trip and my daughter was in quarantine from Pre school. So I was limited in what I could do but was also responsible for entertaining a busy toddler. During our time together, my daughter and I prepared our garden to plant vegetables. I was able to call Ginko, talk about specifics of our plan and pay over the phone. Someone even gladly brought the merchandise to my car. The customer service representative went above and beyond in taking the time to speak with me and my daughter about our desires and even researched a topic for us. I feel valued as a customer and will always come back for my gardening needs.

Siena Dante: Reasonable prices based on my past experience buying plants in New York City. Staff was really friendly and knowledgeable and gave me good plant recommendations. They have a good and varied selection as well

Alison A: I was very excited to come hear about hearing good things. I was looking for something particular that a friend had found here. I asked a long haired male employee for help, and he just told me to look around for it…. The place is huge with lots of variety of plants, so I wasted time because I couldn’t find it… with that being said, very poor customer service. Wasted my time here.

Olde City Garden: what do users think?

Lindsey Franklin: I am not a very adept gardener or plant owner, so I really appreciated how helpful Jeremy was. It’s a great neighborhood gardening center. Picked up a cute pot for my monstera. Will be back.

Jarred Ricks: Great place to buy firewood. Nice sized pieces that you can pick on your own for a good price. Convenient for those who don’t need to purchase wood by the cord. A nice neighborhood gem.

Robert DeJaco: Best place to get a Christmas tree. Sam was great helping us make a choice and load it on our car.

Jess H: Went to try the Spicy Water food. Delicious! Added bonus- we got to shop for a few perennials after a nice lunch of chicken, fries, and perfect plantains.

Stefano Negri: Super kind staff, Christmas trees looks great, nice fire pit to get warm while chosing the tree...they should put a hot chocolate / Glühwein stand, my kids and I would have been happy clients :-)

Gregory Moran: Smaller than a big box store, but they had the tomato seedlings we were looking for! Always happy to support local.

John Moore: A great locally owned plant (and fire wood) center. Sometimes a little low on stock but worth a visit for healthy plants!

Keith Marzullo: Old City is an unusual establishment. I walk by it frequently: this week, they were still selling pansies along with calibrachoa, zinnias, and marigolds. The people are friendly, the selection good, and I enjoy the non-chain vibe. The place does looks abandoned during the winter.

Anya B: Great experience! I called ahead to see if they had what I needed and Tom was helpful and informative. They had a great selection of plants as well.

Little Leaf: what do users think?

Ben Segall: Love this place. Got a rlly nice fern in a gorgeous handmade ceramic pot. The plant selection is awesome and they are rlly nice and helpful. Be aware: most of the ceramics and plants are sold separately. The ceramics are mostly handmade and therefore priced accordingly, so if you don’t want to spend extra on a planter pot I suggest you bring your own and have them repot it for you. Overall this place is a 10/10 recommend. Will definitely go back soon.

Melissa Pazornik: Eleanor was absolutely wonderful to work with! Her eye for arrangements and knowledge about each plant was phenomenal. The entire team made my experience so enjoyable and I am OBSESSED with the final product.

Ceci Moffit: The store was very nice despite the strong artificial flower smell. The store was also very small and not covid safe at all. The male employee was very rude and did not answer my questions. He also look as if he had more important things to do. I have never had such a bad experience at a flower store before.

R. Sims: I have purchased several plants from Little Leaf over the years and recently decided to get a larger plant for my living area. I ordered a Birds of Paradise to be delivered, but did not hear from anyone on the delivery date (Saturday). I got a message on Sunday saying the plant was delivered. I reached out to the supposed delivery driver who I guess contacted Little Leaf and received a message that the confirmation was sent early, erroneously. Ok, no problem. The plant was delivered today and I must say I am disappointed in the quality - many of the leaves are split and the plant does not seem to have been well taken care of. I am surprised by this and unfortunately will be purchasing plants elsewhere.

Holden Rhodes: Hands down the best indoor plant boutique in DC. There’s no other place like it. The selection is always excellent and the profits are high quality and extremely healthy, especially compared to other plant stores in the area. I’ve bought nearly all of my plants from here and there’s a noticeable difference in the longevity of the products purchased here versus chain stores. Staff is consistently helpful and welcoming and the aesthetic never fails!

Ms.: Nice gem in D.C. great selection of plants, all shapes and sizes. Great staff. Some items are great to give as gifts. Books, cards, pots etc. Loved the pot hangers

Lindsey Casella: Always love stopping by this gem. The plants are reasonably priced and the decor/design of the store feels like Justin’s Blakeney Jungalow come to life !!!! Here are my newest additions from the store, that I snagged for total of ~$25. (Note: care cards are included, which is ideal for beginners!)

Kristen Diaz: Shop looks really aesthetically pleasing but that’s about it. Not a great variety of plants & everything is wildly overpriced (plants & pots). Even with that, I expected at least good customer service but received nothing from both employees working there. Not even a greeting or goodbye as I left (even though I still thanked them as I walked out), let alone assistance with anything else. There was also only 1 other person in the store who left before I finished shopping around so the shop wasn’t busy.

Ms. D: Extremely poor customer service and overpriced. Last Tuesday, (Dec 21) the brunette female was cold, unwelcoming and her attitude/personality was off-putting. Especially, her tone of voice when telling people there was an occupancy limit as soon as they barely stepped foot into the shop. With how tiny the shop is, it definitely needs a limit for the safety of staff/customers during Covid, but there’s a much more professional and friendly way to communicate to people, let alone customers. When entering the shop, it felt like you were just a nuisance to her. I will not be returning.

Logan Hardware: what do users think?

Paul Durbin: If you want service and quick check out go to True Value on 17th. Completely different experience with knowledgeable staff ready for you at the door who will help you and then check you out right away. 100% of the true value staff knows their stuff. Here it’s mainly people who will just check you out and don’t know hardware. This place has equally good inventory and later hours, but it’s not a hardware store experience. And for what it’s worth this is an Ace Hardware, which advertises on Fox News, should you want to avoid supporting Fox.

Jim Parrett: Went there to get glass cut and paint matched. l was pleasantly surprised how helpful and courteous the whole staff were. They were able to take care of what I needed so I could finish my project. Thank you!!!

Aja Navat: Friendly staff and large selection of things. It is two floors.

Jacob Goo: So this is super weird but they sell the best cream soda at the counter. I love ace for being small hardware with a little bit of everything. Thx!

John Trissel: Good hardware store! parking may be challenging. They have a good selection for most small projects and gardening needs

Robert Bolen: This store is full of caring people and fantastic tools. On two separate occasions, Jorje has gone above and beyond to help me find the perfect solution. It is wonderful to have a local place where experts provide guidance in a kind, nonjudgmental manner.

American Plant: what do users think?

Stephanie Stubler: Like my favorite nurseries: a plant wonderland from the moment you walk in. I was on a mission for indoor plants so did not spend much time in the covered annual/perennial area, but it was very well stocked and taken care of from my quick outdoor tour. So many indoor plant varieties to choose from, a few I had never seen in this area. I will return for further investigation, for sure!

Linda Balon Stein: Bought Biotone here to amend the soil prior to installing new shrubs. Also picked up flower and veggie seeds. American Plant is amazing. It is a bit higher priced compared to other local nurseries or big box stores. The staff were very nice and helpful.

Ashley Robertson: Nursery hopping in DC, MD, and VA is a favorite past time of mine and so far American Plant wins my award for most beautiful. American Plant had a large selection of healthy looking indoor and outdoor plants. They have everything from succulents, to trees, to climbing vines, and roses. I picked up some pollinator seeds from the garden center, a trellis, and a Thanksgiving Cactus. The prices were fair and the staff were knowledgeable and available. I particularly loved their yard sculpture collection. Those were pricy but the design and quality were some of the best that I’ve seen. I had to keep slapping my own hands to not walk away with all their hanging plants. Gorgeous!

Paul Hudson: This store is amazing, it has a wonderful assortment of plants and very knowledgeable staff. Overall, I had a excellent experience walking around and finding the plants I was looking for!!

Julie Chang: Had a great experience! Amazingly helpful staff and beautiful selection. Ended up buying a bird of paradise and a beautiful pot. Numerous staff helped me find the best fit for my needs and even adjusted my car to help things fit.

Sara Corrigan: Come every year for our Christmas tree. They have a really good selection, reasonable prices and friendly staff. Hits all the marks for us! We come for gardening season too are always pleased :)

Liz T: Beautiful plants with tons of selection. Pretty reasonably priced for the location. The staff is so friendly and helpful. Highly recommend engaging with them because they are also knowledgeable. We ha d a small bush not make it and they gave us no trouble at all to replace it.

David Feuer: Very helpful staff, large selection in general. I do wish they sold wild-type strawberries.

Pam Herbert: Knowledgeable and very friendly employees are always ready to answer questions and share their love of birds! They sell high quality seeds and equipment. Find all your birdy needs at one place

Lisa Billingham: This shop is really helpful for your bird needs. Be sure to ask about the squirrel buster feeder if you have squirrels eating your seed and suet. They carry things to your car and are very knowledgeable about birds in general.

laura beall: Wonderful store and fabulous inventory. Owner is very knowledgable about all subjects relating to bird feeding. Like a one stop shop. Quality items and reasonable prices.

Janie Daum: Love this place! We get all our seed there for years! Great store coupons!

L Erg: Birds and squirrels are my only true friends. The food I buy here keeps them happy and on my side!

Gretzel Viorel Mallo: Great customer service. They are also very knowledgeable about everything in store so you can ask them anything!

Karyn Selko: Best place for wild bird supplies. Kevin is EXTREMELY knowledgeable!

Pegeman 1: Good supply for bird lovers. Nice store.

REWILD Shaw: what do users think?

Aidan John Miller: Took an old, overgrown ZZ plant here for some help. Had the absolute pleasure of working with Jen, who was immensely helpful. She repotted the old plant in a beautiful fresh pot, added some foliage, and made it look healthy and happy in its new home. After my ZZ was given such royal treatment, I felt confident enough to buy some new baby plants.

Brenden King: The staff was amazing and so nice. They were great with my kids and answered ask their questions. They have a good selection of house plants but not anything rare. Over all a great experience and worth going if your in town.

Michael Rovner: The team at rewild is fantastic. On multiple occasions I’ve gone there to purchase a new pot, only for them to advise me that my plant is still happy in its current pot. I really appreciate their honest advice, which is why I’ll keep going back there for all my plant needs!

Rodger Brown: Extremely helpful for new plant parents. Most of their plants are tropical but the the staff is phenomenal at advising newbies on care, treatment and expectations. Come as a novice or a plant fan, and leave satisfied. But, come prepared to pay for quality.

Blessing Ikpa-Adjakwah: My FAVORITE plant store! I’ve tried others and none have been amazing as Rewild (Shaw AND Ballston locations)! The staff is so knowledge and kind, I’ve literally killed a plant (completely my fault!!) and they replaced the plant for me free of charge. They have an extensive assortment of plants at any given time. I love this plant store, they are one of the best parts about the DMV.

Yoliem: Very pretty store! A little pricey but understandable given the location. They have really unique plants that I have not seen on other nurseries before.

Whole Foods Market: what do users think?

M planetmike: This Brave New Whole Foods reopened without cashiers is intriguing. The food selections are the same, only your checkout experience has changed. Is this our future or just one future? Cameras and sensors from the ceiling detect what customers select from the shelves. Is this a convenience we need? Seems contrary (but a common theme today) where we live in a world with a growing population, yet simultaneously strive to reduce jobs with low skill requirements? In addition to the food you select, Amazon has sufficient data to NOW know if you are right or left handed, what you look like, your height, the clothes you wear, etc... Wonder who owns this data? I do NOT see any benefits here for the customer, only for Amazon/Whole Foods.

Nils Hünerfürst: Great concept store. You can login with your In-Store Amazon Code and grab all your groceries and walk out. Super crazy.

Calliope Athanassiadou: Although the general staff behavior was helpful, courteous and quick to respond to questions, we were surprised when we were stopped from taking a photo of a product that we meant to send to a friend for advice and direction. Since when taking photos is not allowed in a supermarket? Somebody should advise their personnel that a super market is a public place, unless we totally misunderstood the intent of the space.

D RK: The Whole Foods in Glover Park is creepy and has a limited selection of items due to the fact that items must be spaced apart in a way that many cameras can capture the image of shoppers purchasing items. In order for the many black cameras to operate self service options in the bakery are very limited for instance as is the case for many departments. The seafood counter as well is small and selection limited despite the size of the store and pristine cleanliness. So it is both creepy and very clean. The selection is very, very limited except for the produce department. Very, very disappointing.

Felice Goodwin: So disappointed in this store! We have waited almost 4 years for the reopening, and now that it is finally open it seems sterile and impersonal. Everything is prepackaged and weighed , no pretty produce to bag yourself. Worst part is you have no idea how much you have spent until you get an email 2 hours later. No way to pay with a different credit card either! I wanted to use my company credit card, but had to get permission from a manger to use the self-checkout and not my prime account. Ring the doorbell to come in? Well that is weird as well. Walk down the ramp to the garage to get in, seems unsafe too. They need to get this worked out. Please go back to the old Whole Foods as we knew it.

Glut Food Co-Op: what do users think?

Melissa Alston: I just love Glut Food Co-op! I was looking for Water Keifer Grains! I didn’t want to buy them online. I now know Glut sales water keifer grains😊

WanderLust: After aeons, place looks the same. Gritty, quite dungeon like. Nothing polished, all good. Visit up. Not your modern storefronts and OK in. Not as welcoming like the old days. Who knows. A fav, few picks to select from. Historic. Swing by if in the neighborhood. Parking can b tight.

Geetika Mathur: They have a huge selection of bulk items

Rachel: The best co-op in the area. Small enough that the staff will remember you but large enough to stock all the food options expected in a health food store. I come here to buy specialty items I can’t otherwise find OR to buy items cheaper. I personally love their Irish Sea Moss supply, variety of Bob’s Red Mill products (especially the teff flour), and the prepared vegan foods in the refrigerator section. My husband finds all types of herbal and beauty supplements here as well. Located in a quaint part of Mt. Rainier.

Aquene Freechild: If you haven’t been to Glut, you haven’t been to Mount Rainier, it’s the beating heart of this little town just along the District border. Great music, it’s a worker owned co-op so no membership required. Though it’s health food store in an expensive part of the country they price many items low, I get pasta, cheese and ice cream cheaper there often than I do at larger chain health food stores. They have folks to help you figure out herbs and supplements that might help what ails you. Fresh organic produce, herbs and bulk grains, nuts and granola, toiletries and natural black skin and hair products. Check it out for the novelty, keep coming back for joy, convenience and community.

Whole Foods Market: what do users think?

nick GERARDO: Whole Foods is by far my top grocery stores but could not give this one five stars. Hard to find products and my biggest complaint is the customer service. I really try/ hardly ask for help. I could not find the water for the life of me, so I decided to ask for help. Man the employee acted like I was asking him some random questions that doesn’t have to do with Whole Foods. Then when I went to check out I got a whole pizza and the price sticker fell off. The employee made get out of line and go get the sticker. Mind blowing. These Whole Foods needs a lot of work.

Eye Heru: The customer service here is hit or miss, most days though, it’s a miss. Most employees are not knowledgeable of the products. And some employees do not handle products with the proper sanitary care ie - seafood and deli (please change your gloves after touching meat products and moving on to dairy. Also please wrap the seafood products properly to avoid leakage. And do not use the same gloves to wrap the food that you used to cut the fish. The raw fish is on your gloves that you touch and spread to the outside of the wrapper that a customer now places in their cart. On the flip side, every experience I’ve had with the cheese and wine department has been very good. Now the quality of most products and food here is great. Though the standards aren’t what they use to be it’s still Whole Foods. The store also is a little compact compared to most Whole Foods. If there were more space I think this would be a ideal spot for a PLNT burger.

Khurram Sheharyar: Lots of fresh veggies, poultry, dairy, seafood and meat varieties available. Plus a cute little nursery near the exit offering a wide variety of plants to purchase. Highly recommended!

Matt R: There are a few reasons I tend to shop here. First, the parking structure isn’t ridiculously tight like a lot of them are (tip, enter from the back, it’s much less crowded). Second, they have a great beer and wine selection. The staff is helpful, too.

princess peach: This place is prettttty over priced. Average price for a TV dinner was 6$. Um no. Very crowded but my God why are the aisles so tiny ? Shopping here is hell and will leave you broke. Back to Wegmans I go.

Ali Ibrahim: Great place! Friendly staff! Little pricier than giant but high quality organic products!! I have been using the salad bar for lunch and I am loving it! The selection is huge and great quality! I get a great salad within my budget of $10 ! There is also a nice seating area where you can get coffee or a beer if you like! I didn’t like the bathrooms in the cafeteria area! I have pictures but I won’t post them here! But i hope they will give the bathrooms some TLC! It’s a shame such a beautiful and clean store have such a nasty bathroom! can you imagine an employee going to the bathroom that has leaking water all over the floor dragging all those germs on his shoes near your food in the kitchen and everywhere? Hence the 4 stars! Please fix the bathroom!

Hanna Foreman: Convenient location right next to the metro. However, there never seem to be enough people staffing the check out lines and there’s always a 10+ minute wait to check out even when you have one item in the express lane. Depending on the day some customers aren’t wearing masks properly.

Abigail Slagle: Made the mistake of coming here to pick up less than 10 items at 1pm on a Sunday. What should have been a quick 10 minute grocery run took an hour. I waited in line for 40 minutes here. There were 2 registers open, although there were numerous store employees around, just no cashiers apparently. I will not be back to this horribly mis-managed location. Don’t waste your time here like I did.

Stephen Griffin: This is our neighborhood Whole Foods, about a 5 min walk from our house. I like the size and the staff is very helpful - especially the meat and fish counter staff. In general the produce is ok with one *very big* exception. Inevitably, the pre-packaged lettuce mixes (spring mix, etc) have at least one variety that is slimy and ruins the rest. In other Whole Food stores the mixes are ok. The problem likely comes from poor drying, overly dense packing or storing at too low a temperature before putting them out on the shelf.

Dana Savage: My favorite grocery store in the area for most things. Their butcher and fish monger are both very knowledgeable and generally have a great selection.

Whole Foods Market: what do users think?

Win Anderson: This great review is solely because of the wonderful barista at the coffee shop. I was in town for a conference and went to whole foods three days in a row for coffee in the morning. Each day Tom provided wonderful coffee and friendly service. He is polite and personable and efficient. (This was in stark contrast to some of the register checkout clerks, who were downright rude.). The police officers were very friendly!

Cyndy Nguyen: I came here for the coffee bar and had a wonderful experience. The barista, Tom, was friendly and helpful. He gave me some information about the decaf coffee (doesn’t contain any chemicals). He gave me a sample of one of their green smoothies and made me a delicious brown butter cookie latte. I’ll come back for the great customer service.

Barry Bub: I am usually willing to pay more at a Whole Foods market because I generally enjoy the shopping experience there. This particular store not, for a number of reasons. Here’s one. When I asked the checkout person, politely, to tape the lid of the soup container to prevent it coming off - I had a long walk home - she yelled at me and stormed off. She was replaced by male who told me they no no longer tape or rubber band lids. I guess the few seconds it takes to do so eats into their profits. And what has happened to customer service? I agree with the previous reviewer, it’s a management or corporate problem.

Melissa Colón: I love stopping by the coffee bar for my daily fix. My drink is always perfectly made and the conversation is great! I’m hoping that eventually the hot bar breakfast will work its way back up to how great it was pre-pandemic.

Natalia Delgado: Had a really had experience at this location. We were accused of stealing by the manager just because we had our own cart with groceries from trader joes. The grocery store is 15 minutes from where we live and we go walking so we have no other option than to go to both stores in one trip. He made us feel very uncomfortable the whole time and followed us throughout the store. Another person had their own cart and was putting groceries in there but it didn’t seem like he said anything to them while we had our whole foods items in a separate basket. He approached again at checkout (after making it very obvious that he was talking about us with another employee) and said we couldn’t bring our own cart because “it confuses the employees”. I explained that we had a receipt for the groceries we had in our cart but he didn’t seen to care. We don’t have the luxury of a car or leaving nearby the store and we had never had any problems with going to two stores in one trip with our cart.

Caroline McGuire: Tom makes the best smoothies at the coffee & smoothie bar! The whole staff is amazing and the store is always so well organized. Cannot recommend this spot enough!

Yes! Organic Market - 14th St.: what do users think?

Nils Hünerfürst: Lovely place. No to much and no to less stuff inside.

Epernay Kyles: I love this grocery store. Their soups are always fresh and delicious. Staff is friendly and helpful. And you can refill water containers for 39 cents a gallon. I also love the in house freshly made sushi and wine collection.

Clair Wholean: Way better than Whole Foods. Great selection of specialty products. You can get flax oil, unusual pickled veggies, vegan jerky, sushi & sprouts that other stores do not carry.

Tanya L. Covington: Small but everything fresh and wholesome is right at your fingertips. Nice staff. Prepared foods. Soup. Coffee. Good things come in small places. Recommend. Convenient.

Rahul Sharma: 1. Small chic store. 2. 2 times they sold me product past the expiration but they refunded me the money without receipt. 3. Nice fresh organic vegetables and fruits. I like the Asian sweet potatoes which I dont find in Giant, Costco, etc.

Petworth Ace Hardware: what do users think?

danceswithcars w: While the renamed store still hosts TheBikeHouse on the edge of the parking lot and tools inside, not much else has changed, afaict, still kind of unpaid day laborers in relation to a for profit store. When at Qualia it was coffee/light foods and taking over the back yard. This tools, supplies and learning some basic mechanics. How to change a flat. How a ratchet works. On up through what can be done with bikes... At times I wish TBH would takeover a foreclosed property and have a home... Until then I guess buy cold sweet liquids while baking to death in the heat without bathroom nor filtered cold water access. FWIW I was at the (original) opening with council member(s), food truck, etc. District HW (w 🚲), old Capital Hill Fragers that burned, saw deceased mayor there, etc.

Mark Pry: Excellent hardware store in the Petworth area that typically has everything I need. The staff are friendly and helpful. Chris was especially helpful when I needed to grab a few bags of mulch!

Kerry Keys: Staff have been friendly and helpful to me on several occasions. Chris was a great help recently when I needed to find the right size screw for my bike rack.

Denise W: Same nice store but they got rid of my favorite guy, Steve, who had been at that location for years. No one there has the knowledge he had.

mat t: Great having a shop close to home, open on Sundays, have what I want, friendly staff and not expensive. Done and back to the game! Thanks Ace and jneely!

James Rayford: The service was horrible. After standing in the isle for 8 to ten minutes I had go get someone and his response was go get it bring it here. Then finally coming to help with one item only he disappeared. So I walked out.

Ian C: Great selection and friendly staff. Chris helped me find the weird bolt I was looking for very quickly!

James Knupp: Everyone is always friendly when I go, Chris in particular has helped me out quite a bit.

Rinaldo Pressley (Rinny): Nice Hardware store in the neighbourhood prices as low as the Big competitors.

Whole Foods Market: what do users think?

Kev- keepingitreal: Great place to shop for all your groceries needs. Whole Foods Market offers a variety of fresh fruits and vegetables to choose from, they also offer a place to return your Amazon order for a Amazon pickup this really convenient. Whole Foods Market store was clean, shelf was pretty well organized and stock, staff was very friendly and helpful. This store offers free underground parking to customers. The parking garage is located on 6th Street.

Joshua D App: Stopped by today to pick up pizza near closing time on a Monday night. Even with all the usual clean up rush, Diva (I believe that’s her name as it was through a mask) was very pleasant and helpful even though she had limited time and ingredients left and at the end of her shift. Extra stars for her! The rest of the store is as you would expect from a Whole Foods

Kathy Thomas: My entire experience at Whole Foods, was great. First off, there was plenty of parking, my son easily found a spot in their parking garage, which leads right into their store. You get a parking ticket and can park 90 minutes, free. The store was huge, there were plenty of carts. The fresh fish and meat were great, and we purchased a good amount of fresh salmon, and other seafood. I found everything I needed to cook for my son and I, which is huge. Fresh produce was great, I got fresh collard greens, kale, green beans, spinach, onions, to name a few. They also had personal items.

Stephanie Enaje: One of my go-to Whole Foods since they opened. Staff is always kind. Lines always go fast. Just a tidbit, the high PH water refill had/has a metallic taste that was off-putting hopefully management addressed it.

Anthony Alexander: This is the worst Whole Foods I have ever been to in my life. Tried to give it a year but after hearing profanity from the store clerks joking around with each other for the 5th time, I have had it. The food is often not fresh. They do not replenish produce shelves and will leave wilted products out. The hot bar is always unkept with food that has been out too long and it tastes horrible even when its fresh. The pizza is always old and whole pies are sitting there with coagulated grease because it looks unappetizing, Every day the hot bar, pizza and deli are the same. No variety. I have gone to other Whole foods in DC and it is not like this- so it is THIS H street location. The customer service is horrible. There was a person working in the vitamin section and asked about some calcium and he was like "I dunno, just look around.". You never see any new products like you do at other whole foods. Once I got ice cream home and it was melted already (I only live a block from the store) . The deli counter people are NEVER at the counter. They are always in back and seem put out when you want to buys something. The manager of this store should be fired. Please investigate this store. It gives Whole Foods a bad name.

Frager's Hardware: what do users think?

Audrey Lester: Blind Customer: I increased shopping here during pandemic, as it’s in my community. On nearly all visits, I’m greeted at front door by a very knowledgeable staff member. I love how they know where every item is specifically located - like really! Upon entry, you’re on main isle. To your left are short isles leading to registers. Staff always escort me through store or to elevator where I’m met by another team member on lower level. Ayesha, General Manager, allows items to be opened for me when possible so I can feel item. I especially love their text message lime where consumers can ask questions before visiting store. Great Team!

Michael uthe: The store with more. Walked in and thought was small. But as I got farther in it opened up to huge room with a downstairs and outdoor garden section. Truly awesome and amazing staff.

Hope Greenleaf: Great shop with a large selection of plants, gifts, household items, and hardware. Friendly helpful staff!

Stephanie Sneary: Very friendly and knowledgeable staff. The store often carries products you can’t find at larger stores— for instance I recently had need for a shorter length of 14/2 electrical wire that I found here.

koura Gibson: Disappointed to be rudely treated for “walking into store” before opening. The door was wide opened and I entered only to be charged aggressively by the 3 attending employees, shouting for me to exit. I had to calm them down of their excitement to reprimand me for entering the store. There was no indication that the store was not opened. No hours were posted ether. Then the older guy rudely and aggressively closed the door as I exited. He then snarkly stated “I guess!” When informing him that 8:00 was in 14 minutes. It was really disappointing to have to endure such rudeness in the morning.

Kristin Roesch: William was so helpful in matching a specific furniture screw I needed for a Murphy bed. He answered all of my novice questions and was so funny and kind. He also helped with copying a house key.

Greenstreet Gardens of Virginia: what do users think?

Kerrin Nishimura: Wonderful selection of plants including natives. Very knowledgeable staff and the prices are reasonable. The quality of the plants is excellent. They put a lot of effort into their care so you never have to worry about getting inferior stock. They do a pumpkin patch in the fall and have a great little gift shop with lots of cute stuff. I love coming here because I can always find something new and interesting to buy.

Kate Downs: Always well stocked , great deals, pleasant staff. Definitely a must visit for all your gardening needs. Great Xmas trees and poinsettias too when the season calls for it

Alisha R.: Thank you to all the staff for being so kind and helpful today, going above and beyond their job description. And the ficus they potted for me (graciously twice - I dropped it the first time) looks amazing in my living room.

Tailor Mayne: I’ve purchased many plants here over the years and my experience is always top tier. I love their house plants and they have the occasional rare table set up with all the goodies! I always stop by just to grab a plant with some character since they are at such a reasonable price or just for a peaceful walk around and look. Love this little gem hidden in Nova!

CB DCDiva: Tucked away and looking like a tiny hobbit hole, this nursery is much larger on the inside! With tons if options for inside and out, the plants were healthy and plentiful. The new veggie seedlings were in various sizes and good selection. Now parking? The tiniest parking lot offers free parking but it is hard to maneuver with lots of bagged products taking up spaces. However, if you need a variety of compost options, they have you covered.

Sarah Bennett: I just want to say this place is amazing. Their Christmas tree selection is beautiful. They have every size you could possibly want. We unfortunately had a leak from the re-usable stand we purchased and they even offered to come to our apartment and replace it for us! What amazing customer service. We will definitely be coming back in the spring in hopes to find some micro greens and other plants!

Carolina Sarmiento N.: This is the best nursery ever!!! We love the people who work here. Everyone is very friendly and knowledgeable. They have beautiful flowers and the quality of their plants are excellent. We have never had a problem with any of the trees, perennials and annuals plants. We definitely recommend this place. Here are some pictures with their flowers in our townhouse patio.

Dan Solley: Had the absolute best afternoon picking out plants and flowers for our new flower box. As two novice green thumbs, we walked in clueless. But thanks to the awesome advice, guidance, and attention that was given by Scott, we walked out as complete experts. He helped us through the whole process, answering questions and teaching us and helping us pick out ideal plants for our situation. He literally spent our entire visit with us, up until and through the checkout process. I’m now a big Greenstreet fan, but an even bigger Scott fan!

Annie's Ace Hardware - Brookland: what do users think?

hahahas lkjhgg: Well stocked. And variety of items to choose from. The staff are always friendly. Every time I go there they will assist me with smiles on their faces. Highly recommend!

Nick Ewing: I always try to do my hardware shopping in this location. Employees are incredibly friendly and knowledgeable. Store is always well cleaned and well stocked. Perfect location to drop off UPS packages as well!

Chris Aresu: A+ neighborhood hardware store. The staff is very knowledgeable, and has provided help on a number of home projects where I’ve been stuck. Definitely recommend.

Lou Feagans (Louie): Nice selection of products, clean helpful shopping environment. However, they do not respect the Brookland neighborhood and place signs illegally on street lights and blocking sidewalks. Can not recommend supporting a business that does not respect the neighborhood within which it operates.

Stephan Roberts: Amazing service! I accidentally ordered the wrong thing for a project and Thomas and the rest of the staff made sure I got what I needed and delivered it the same day.

Conor O'Brien: A+ customer service It’s not the biggest hardware store, but they have an impressive amount of tools and supplies in the shop. Really helpful with regard to lawn care projects in particular. Great knowledge of local soil and the best grass seed for the hot summers.

MOM's Organic Market: what do users think?

Sassy Sauce: This market is always clean, well stocked and the staff is always friendly. They have great customer service and are always willing to help find products and make suggestions about items they may have on sale or items they have tried personally. This store is never overcrowded and it’s easy to get in and out. When there is more foot traffic they always have every cashier line open and the wait is minimal. The store can be a little expensive but the products are really good quality and they’re mostly organic or responsibly sourced types foods and products. I’m a big fan of the soaps and hair care products. I like to try different items each time.

Chanpen Tee: The store is very nice and clean. There are not many people here. The staff is nice

shadowdragon1000: Store was fine and the staff was polite. The store is rather pricey though. Parking was really stupid. Street pay machine was broken so they directed us to park inside which was twice as expensive. Downgraded from four stars because of this.

Tamirat Ingida: Excellent customer service. The food test like real food. Naked lunch service area are extremely friendly! Thanks mom’s organic

Marc Bretzfelder: Great for esoteric stuff and vegan food. Good sales. Staples often cheaper than Whole Foods, especially during a sale. Produce is pricey.

Rose Devereux: Wonderful staff, immaculate store, quality food. I live way uptown, but pledge to show this location more love in 2022 and beyond.😍

green RITA: The Jammed Yam at their NAKED LUNCH counter is my favorite.I do their bulk foods, nut milks & Larabars, Daiya cheeses, smoked mussels, cottage cheese, kim chi, kale, etc but mostly cherry pick the sales.

Jessica H: Always fresh! I love being able to buy products in bulk when setting up a big brunch at home.

Sparsh Gupta: Fresh organic produce and a lot of healthy options. Free parking in the garage and can be validated by the store.

Angel Yi: Mosquitoes and huge flies love this place! It smells really good in here. The flour section needs a good cleaning. More fresh produce needed today, but usually an OK selection.

Adams Morgan Ace Hardware: what do users think?

Megan Tebbenhoff: Everyone at this Ace Hardware is incredibly kind, helpful, and knowledgeable! I went in seeking a screw that would fit a warped sleeve in a new piece of furniture, and Chris went above and beyond to help me fix my problem. He asked me to bring in my furniture, offered me a dolly to wheel it in from my car, and used some tools free of charge at the store to help get the screw properly threaded so I could finish building my furniture. It was so kind of him to offer his assistance, I likely would have had to exchange the furniture if I didn’t have his help. I have come to this location a few times and I have always been incredibly impressed by the service. Huge thank you to Chris!

Sarah Parker: Everyone here is incredibly nice and helpful! Someone very nicely greeted me as I walked in, and then Chris was super friendly and efficient in making some keys for me, and Lawrence was really friendly too! This is a super competent, customer service centered team, and they made my day with how nice they were!!

Jessica C: I take my dog here twice a week while I browse their new plant selections. The staff are all so nice and helpful. I love that they shower my dog with attention. My dog loves it too. She always tries to drag me in for treats. They have a great plant selection. They change things up but you can usually find a good array of basics and less common plants. They often have small hoyas, peperomias, aglaonemas, and other stuff I’m looking for. I always look forward to checking out the new stock on Wednesday and Friday. Thanks, Ace

Daniel Commins: Always friendly and helpful. You are approached as soon as you enter by someone ready to help. Even if you don’t know exactly what you need, they are extremely knowledgeable and helpful.

Suriya Jayanti: I like this store and its people so much that sometimes I just come to hang out. And I definitely go out of my way to buy things here instead of Home Depot or Amazon. Viva la Hardware!

Emily Norton: Thank you so much to Lily who helped repair our desk. She was SO attentive and creative, and really gave us some extra time and aid. We could not be more grateful, and we are so happy to have our beautiful desk repaired!

Jessica Goodman: Lilly was fantastic in helping me with all my needs. I was redoing my bathroom and ran into some plumbing issues. Lilly was patient and really sat down to help me solve my problems. Would highly recommend this store!

Kyle A: All the staff are very knowledgeable and helpful and kind. Every time I’ve been they’ve greeted us with a smile and were always personable.

Yes! Organic Market - Adams Morgan: what do users think?

Indi Redd: I found this cute store by simply browsing the streets but what was a “cute store” turned into a very uncomfortable space. As soon as I walked into the building I was greeted fairly warmly by three individuals but as I started to browse I found that I couldn’t go anywhere in the store without being asked if I needed assistance. Please note that there was a couple of fair skinned individual shopping as well. At 1st I thought they were trying to be helpful but after the 10th time being asked (not exaggerating) I recognized a tension in the air and quickly realized that I was being racial profiled. I couldn’t go down any isle without being followed (I even set my backpack down in the front of the store mid-shopping to see if that would ease the tension; however, they continued to follow me. I ended up buying some apples and bananas before quickly exiting the store. I had an absolutely terrible experience and warn anyone that’s melinated to be aware of this if you choose to go here. There’s no reason for anyone to have to experience this types of micro aggressions.

Emma Collins: I absolutely love this place. Everyone who works here is extremely kind. They have hard-to-find natural products and health products. And excellent customer service!

Rimma Shiptsova: They are cozy and always have stuff that’s hard to find in regular supermarkets such as coconut sugar, local honey or organic brussel sprouts

Colden Franklin: Friendly staff, good selection, and locally owned.

Zoe Willingham: I started shopping here after the pandemic because they are very good at observing safety protocols. I feel safe there and the staff are very helpful. The only downside is the selection is somewhat limited.

Sarah Scott: Great place to fill up your own containers with dry goods! I get all my dry stuff here (spices, rice, granola, etc) super cute store, one of the best things about my neighborhood.
