Ginkgo Gardens: what do users think?
Kristen Diaz
Kristen Diaz: Just moved here from Miami & have been searching for a new fav plant shop. Ive explored so many & this one is definitely it! Great selection of plants at reasonable prices. They have an outdoor & indoor section plus an upstairs portion. I’ve gotten so many plants from here already. The staff is also friendly & helpful. Recommend.
Scott Nguyen
Scott Nguyen: Some of the plants sold here did not have any roots, so what chance do they have in surviving? The other plant we bought was fine though, still this nursery need to either check their greenhouse or suppliers for rooted plants.
a
a: I finally had the chance to stop by Ginkgo Gardens, and it completely exceeded my expectations. There is a WIDE variety of plants, planters, tools, and more! During checkout, I told the man I was just beginning my gardening journey and he pulled out this book to help me with the plants I bought today! Thank you so much for the amazing experience and exceptional customer service. This isn’t the closest plant nursery to me, but it is 100% worth the trip. I will definitely be back soon!
Ashley Stewart
Ashley Stewart: Ginkgo Gardens is a cozy neighborhood plant store where I get almost all of my houseplants and planters. They also have a wide selection if outdoor plants. The staff are friendly and helpful, and the plants are beautiful. Sometimes I just visit the store for some pleasant browsing.
Sheree P
Sheree P: I was recently in an unfortunately common predicament. My husband was on a business trip and my daughter was in quarantine from Pre school. So I was limited in what I could do but was also responsible for entertaining a busy toddler. During our time together, my daughter and I prepared our garden to plant vegetables. I was able to call Ginko, talk about specifics of our plan and pay over the phone. Someone even gladly brought the merchandise to my car. The customer service representative went above and beyond in taking the time to speak with me and my daughter about our desires and even researched a topic for us. I feel valued as a customer and will always come back for my gardening needs.
Siena Dante
Siena Dante: Reasonable prices based on my past experience buying plants in New York City. Staff was really friendly and knowledgeable and gave me good plant recommendations. They have a good and varied selection as well
Alison A
Alison A: I was very excited to come hear about hearing good things. I was looking for something particular that a friend had found here. I asked a long haired male employee for help, and he just told me to look around for it…. The place is huge with lots of variety of plants, so I wasted time because I couldn’t find it… with that being said, very poor customer service. Wasted my time here.

Urban Jungle: what do users think?
Ryan Ellis
Ryan Ellis: I ordered a succulent garden to surprise my wife. The arrangement was awesome, but the plants were not doing well after a couple of days. I contacted Urban Jungle. They delivered a brand new garden and let me keep the old one. The new succulent garden is doing much better. Good customer service!
Caitlin Hone
Caitlin Hone: I ordered a Plants that cost nearly $60 from this business in April and never received it (it’s now August). I was not refunded my money and I have never been contacted by the business though I have emailed and called and texted them. I understand that the spring was an incredibly difficult time for everyone but I was still charged money for a product that I never received.
Nicole Choi
Nicole Choi: I gave Urban Jungle a chance because of their prices, but I had a very poor experience with them. I ordered a plant to be delivered on Monday, and I received no confirmation, even through email, about my order being placed or an estimated delivery time. However, I know my order was processed because I was charged. During their business hours, i tried calling and texting, as they suggest doing in their voicemail, but I received no response. I have no way of knowing if my order was actually delivered or not, yet if I reach out to the recipient, it’ll ruin the surprise! I was using Urban Stems, but again, I have Urban Jungle a try because of their competitive prices. However, the customer service is so poor at Urban Jungle that I’ll be going back to Urban Stems.

Little Leaf: what do users think?
Ben Segall
Ben Segall: Love this place. Got a rlly nice fern in a gorgeous handmade ceramic pot. The plant selection is awesome and they are rlly nice and helpful. Be aware: most of the ceramics and plants are sold separately. The ceramics are mostly handmade and therefore priced accordingly, so if you don’t want to spend extra on a planter pot I suggest you bring your own and have them repot it for you. Overall this place is a 10/10 recommend. Will definitely go back soon.
Response: So happy to hear you had a great experience, Ben! I remember potting that fern for you and being excited about the plant + pot combo you picked out. Hope to see you again in the shop soon! Best, Mollie
Melissa Pazornik
Melissa Pazornik: Eleanor was absolutely wonderful to work with! Her eye for arrangements and knowledge about each plant was phenomenal. The entire team made my experience so enjoyable and I am OBSESSED with the final product.
Response: Thanks so much Melissa! We are also thrilled with how the arrangements turned out- enjoy your new plant babies! -The Little Leaf Team
Ceci Moffit
Ceci Moffit: The store was very nice despite the strong artificial flower smell. The store was also very small and not covid safe at all. The male employee was very rude and did not answer my questions. He also look as if he had more important things to do. I have never had such a bad experience at a flower store before.
Response: Hi Ceci, We're so sorry to hear about your disappointing experience. We pride ourselves in our customer service and COVID safety, running at a limited capacity of 8 customers in the shop. We hope you give us another chance down the road, and we will be sure to share your feedback with our team. Best, Mollie
R. Sims
R. Sims: I have purchased several plants from Little Leaf over the years and recently decided to get a larger plant for my living area. I ordered a Birds of Paradise to be delivered, but did not hear from anyone on the delivery date (Saturday). I got a message on Sunday saying the plant was delivered. I reached out to the supposed delivery driver who I guess contacted Little Leaf and received a message that the confirmation was sent early, erroneously. Ok, no problem. The plant was delivered today and I must say I am disappointed in the quality - many of the leaves are split and the plant does not seem to have been well taken care of. I am surprised by this and unfortunately will be purchasing plants elsewhere.
Response: Hi there, we're so sorry to hear about the state of your plant upon arrival. If you could send us an email to hello@littleleafshop.com, we'd love to send you a replacement. Thank you, Mollie
Holden Rhodes
Holden Rhodes: Hands down the best indoor plant boutique in DC. There’s no other place like it. The selection is always excellent and the profits are high quality and extremely healthy, especially compared to other plant stores in the area. I’ve bought nearly all of my plants from here and there’s a noticeable difference in the longevity of the products purchased here versus chain stores. Staff is consistently helpful and welcoming and the aesthetic never fails!
Ms.
Ms.: Nice gem in D.C. great selection of plants, all shapes and sizes. Great staff. Some items are great to give as gifts. Books, cards, pots etc. Loved the pot hangers
Response: Thanks so much for the kind review, Ms. Green! Come back and see us again soon!
Lindsey Casella
Lindsey Casella: Always love stopping by this gem. The plants are reasonably priced and the decor/design of the store feels like Justin’s Blakeney Jungalow come to life !!!! Here are my newest additions from the store, that I snagged for total of ~$25. (Note: care cards are included, which is ideal for beginners!)
Response: Hi Lindsey! Thanks so much for the sweet words! We're so happy to hear you're a fan and hope to see you again soon in the shop. Many thanks, the LL team
Kristen Diaz
Kristen Diaz: Shop looks really aesthetically pleasing but that’s about it. Not a great variety of plants & everything is wildly overpriced (plants & pots). Even with that, I expected at least good customer service but received nothing from both employees working there. Not even a greeting or goodbye as I left (even though I still thanked them as I walked out), let alone assistance with anything else. There was also only 1 other person in the store who left before I finished shopping around so the shop wasn’t busy.
Response: Hi Kristen, We're so sorry to hear about your experience. We completely understand how frustrated you must have been reflecting on your visit. We are always working to train our team to provide warm, attentive and welcoming service, and we will certainly use your experience to help us improve. We hope you give us another chance and have you back in sometime. Best, The Little Leaf Team
Ms. D
Ms. D: Extremely poor customer service and overpriced. Last Tuesday, (Dec 21) the brunette female was cold, unwelcoming and her attitude/personality was off-putting. Especially, her tone of voice when telling people there was an occupancy limit as soon as they barely stepped foot into the shop. With how tiny the shop is, it definitely needs a limit for the safety of staff/customers during Covid, but there’s a much more professional and friendly way to communicate to people, let alone customers. When entering the shop, it felt like you were just a nuisance to her. I will not be returning.
Response: Hi there, We're so sorry to hear about your experience. We are constantly striving to offer warm and genuine customer service, and are disappointed to hear you didn't receive that during your visit. We hope you give us another chance and that we get to see you in the shop again. Best, Mollie

Johnson's Florist and Garden Centers: what do users think?
Jesse Cowan
Jesse Cowan: Terrific customer service today! I was greeted right away by a friendly staffer who showed me just the plant I was looking for and helped me pick one from 3 healthy specimens. Then another friendly staffer potted it for me, and when she understood it was to be a gift, wrapped it with pretty tissue paper. So grateful, and looking forward to coming back soon.
Dan S
Dan S: Nice people working there, hence my not giving 1 star. We’ve had multiple issues of purchasing products from them that are infested with various pests. We bought a palm plant from them, to then find out it was infested with spider mites (to this day we haven’t been able to get rid of them, and have isolated our palm plant). We also bought compost from them on a separate occasion, to then find out (the hard way) that it was infested with fungus gnats. Our veggies withered because these gnats ate all the roots. I don’t recommend purchasing any plant products from this store, as they seem to have pest problems.
Bailey Price
Bailey Price: Beautiful garden center that had everything I could have needed! Thanks so much to Eileen for working with me for about a half hour to pick all of the right plants and materials for what I was looking for! They turned out so nicely!
Andrea
Andrea: This place is a plant haven. I would recommend going here over any other shop. The products are high quality, staff is friendly and there is a large selection. I got two small house plants and the staff had such good recommendations for my situation.
J. D. Rosenzweig
J. D. Rosenzweig: Great local flower and plant store. Much better going here than a big box store. Excellent plants inside for gifts. Knowledgeable and friendly staff.
M B
M B: Good selection of plants and supplies. However, the cashiers, particularly the younger cashiers, aren’t very friendly. I felt as though I were imposing on their precious time by having the audacity of being a customer. No smile or friendly “Hello” or “How may I help you” for a greeting. Instead, I received an irritated “Can I help you?” from not one but both cashiers. It wasn’t packed, so I really didn’t understand the seemingly irritated or exasperated attitude. If said cashiers don’t want to help anyone, there’s a solution—QUIT! And don’t hold a position where one has to interface with the public! Needless to say, I won’t be back. I’ll do my shopping via Amazon. At least that way, I’ll be able to save time, money, and not have to deal with abysmal customer service!
Chanpen Tee
Chanpen Tee: There are a lot of plants foe indoors and outdoors. Staff is friendly.

Minnesota Florist: what do users think?
Christopher Young
Christopher Young: I called this florist on Thursday evening (12-16-21), after getting the funeral service church address for the following morning! I’m offering a three (3) star review because they did in fact deliver the flowers and our loved one received them. The real reason for the three stars is based on the final floral arrangement. I’ll post pictures and let you all decide if this was a $130 arrangement!! I think this was purchased at a local Harris Tetter and dropped off at the church, LOL. At the end of the day, I’m guessing it was the thought…haha. Whew! I’ve sent flowers for less and the design, the attention to detail was stunning (of course, at the hands of another florist)!!! Won’t call this florist again. Based on my conversation with the elder who answered, I don’t think they read these reviews and it’s obvious they don’t care!! I’m just saying…but where else could I have vented? I don’t even reside in the DC METRO area, but I needed flowers sent at the last minute. Ok, blessings to all on sending flowers.
Tuesde Hines
Tuesde Hines: I have never seen a flower shop you go in trash every were one lady was lay back in a recliner with a blanket & the other was sitting throwing stems on floor I ask for a bit k to look through very harsh the woman ask what you looking for I reply do you have a book she reply tell me what you want they try to charge me 70 dollars for a teddy bear small at that a rap around flower is what they call it No card No Vase I just bought the flowers $45 for it but then she said tax $47 Never again and unprofessional to me to had been there for 45years
Ama R.
Ama R.: I needed a Bouquet done last minute on a Sunday and delivered that same day.I decided to go with them and I don’t regret my decision one bit. The Bouquet was beautiful and was delivered in a timely manner. Everytime I called someone answered & was very nice. Thanks again! I will be returning when in your area.
LaVanda Gaskins
LaVanda Gaskins: I love to support black businesses but this company right here is horrible. Why they been in business for so long is absurd. I ordered flowers and paid in full for a funeral. First of all they delivered them in the middle of the service and not only that I ordered two different sets and only one was delivered. After the funeral when I called to let them know they was late and that they didn’t send my other set of flowers the owner in which lies to me and told me she was the Manager informed me there were no refunds! How when I didn’t receive what I paid for. After informing the owner that I would dispute it with my bank if she didn’t refund my card! Please take yur business elsewhere because when you already dealing with a death you don’t wanna have to deal with people and businesses like this.

Honestly, the store is so comforting and so is the service here. It was worth every penny and I definitely will be back!!! The flowers are sooo beautiful; I just know my mom will love them

SHAUN BAKER
SHAUN BAKER: M and M Michael and Mary are phenomenal. I came to House of Flowers to get birthday flowers for my dear friend Wendy. Beautiful tulip arrangement!! Go see them often! They’re the best! Thank you Michael and Mary! I will be back... Shaun
Owen Benons
Owen Benons: Mary is incredible and extremely sweet and accommodating. The selection of flowers is top notch. They were able to expedite my order. The flower selection is second to none and the house dog is adorable. What a great place 10/10 would recommend, competitive pricing as well tell them Owen sent you!
barcemayne11
barcemayne11: My go-to flower shop that never ceases to amaze me with their beautiful bouquets. I’m thankful for their amazing staff and the work they do. Mary is a sweetheart and gives the best costumer service while Michael and Uma are true artists! All I have to do is tell them the occasion and my budget and they create the most beautiful works of art. Gentlemen, make the right decision and get your significant others an arrangements from House of Flowers. You’re supporting a local business and you’ll be blown away
Jennifer L
Jennifer L: Had a last-minute mission to find a boutonniere for my daughter’s prom date, and called House of Flowers since it was around the corner from my office. They could not have been nicer and were so happy to make one for me in practically no time - and it was absolutely stunning! I will definitely be ordering flowers from them in the future.
Jessica Kidane
Jessica Kidane: This place has been a lifesaver for me the last few weeks when I needed to grab quick, last minute gifts. Their chocolate selection is very good and they make beautiful arrangements. Most of all, their customer service is top notch. They once delivered a last minute arrangement on Valentine’s Day for my boss’s wife with detailed instructions. They saved the day (not to mention a tremendous headache on my end) and followed the instructions to the letter. I’ve never been disappointed with them!
Amanda Cassidy
Amanda Cassidy: The staff at House of Flowers was incredibly patient and knowledgeable about their flowers. They walked me through different price points and arrangements, and made sure I had what I wanted at a great price when I left. Highly recommend!
J. Madison
J. Madison: Mary was absolutely wonderful waking me through selecting a beautiful arrangement for my Valentines Day plan. The pic below is just a starter. We’ve made arrangements to go big for actual V-Day. Thx so much!

Patuxent Nursery: what do users think?
Olivia S.O
Olivia S.O: Best nursery I’ve ever been to. Customer service is absolutely incredible, they’re happy to help + they know their stuff AND my favorite thing? When they don’t, they CHECK. No need to act like you know every single detail on every single plant, and having us customers deal with the consequences. Abby helped me pick a rubber tree plant and an aloe plant, and gave me shipping information on when I can come back for a snake plant. She also gave me a ton of information on each, types of planters, and some extra info for my stubborn calethea medallion at home. Even went outside to get me a cart when my plants became too much for my arms. Leanne was super sweet, showed me a rare plant they have coming in, and helped where she could and brought Abby over to me because she was in a different department. There was a gentleman who was walking around loading things, saw I had a rubber tree plant in my cart and just gave me a bunch of helpful information. You can tell these people love their jobs, their coworkers, and genuinely love to help. It’s refreshing!! I’m already plotting on a few more plants so I can go back!
Alicia Anderson
Alicia Anderson: I have shopped here for at least 10 years. Every season I look forward to my trip here..sometime several times per season…I purchase with the understanding that I get Quality and Service. This Christmas I purchase 3 small beautiful holiday plants. In less than 9 days after caring as instructed, the plants began to die. I brought them back to the store only to be told that they cannot be exchanged. No exceptions, especially with me not having my receipt yet they were aware that I had recently purchased a Christmas tree and not certain why both were not in the system. I purchase from this store and I knowingly overpay because I presume that I have a quality guarantee that I would not get elsewhere. Not the case! This is not a store that is committed to longevity and quality service. I will no longer make a commitment to shop here first. I will bring my money to a establishments that’s more connected with service and guaranteed quality not just getting a sale
Response: Hello, thank you for letting us know what happened and we are sorry that your experience with us was not satisfactory. When it comes to returning plants, we print our policy on our receipts at checkout. For Annuals, including our Poinsettias, due to their fragile nature we do not return or replace these items. We also require a receipt, or a purchase to be made under a member account in order to retrieve purchasing history. We strive to find satisfactory compromises with all our customers, and if this was not the case in your experience we would like to make it right. Please email us at custserv@patuxentnursery.com, we would like to discuss this further with you.
Ashley Robertson
Ashley Robertson: My friends know I love plant nurseries. One friend taking on a big landscape project asked me to recommend a nursery near DC, with fair prices, a wide selection, and knowledgable staff. I immediately recommended Patuxent. And they did not let us down. We were helped by Gabby who knew the best outdoor plants for my friend’s waterlogged yard. My friend wanted to attract butterflies and Gabby showed us the options for those as well. Several other staff members helped us protect and load up her truck with her selection. I was especially impressed because it started raining while we were shopping and Gabby grabbed her raincoat and kept on showing us around...well my friend around. I went inside the garden center to keep dry 😂. After picking her outdoor plants my friend had a question about an indoor plant that was dying and Gabby directed us to an indoor plant expert! By the end, my friend was raving about the stellar service and I was so glad to have converted another friend into a nursery lover! Thanks Patuxent!
Witchman
Witchman: Fantastic customer serice and great selection!! I was looking for a half yard of topsoil, which some nurseries wont do. I sent an email and they promptly replied. She said they do and gave me the price. Checkout was quick and the loader operator was on point. Five stars all day long!
Caren Raphael
Caren Raphael: The manager name Lisa G was very rude! I could hear her in the radio. She was giving the cashier the feedback thinking i was not hearing.. before she even know the facts she said the answer is NO! While shouting. When i asked to speak to her she refused to come said she is working worth a cashier. I said I will wait.. she told the cashier again in the radio rudely “she will wait a while then!!! I said politely that is fine. Then she said she wont come via radio… At this time her rudeness was out of control.. the cashiers told her “she can hear you” .. In few mins she showed up already saying no with no questions asked. Even the gentleman who was there who was a reasonable person who explained that the plant was planted and I have an account the lady proceeded to be rude and decided to win rather than doing the right thing. We spent $600 and exchanging the plant which dies for $20 was what brought all this!! This is beyond bad customer service.. i have never got this type of treatment anywhere!!!!
Response: Thank you for bringing this to our attention. While Lisa and the other managers involved were defending policy, it is our understanding that they were asked to escalate the situation to upper management and to wait before making any calls; we appreciate your patience since they were not able to make a decision in the moment. After review, while Lisa was not the manager on the radio it was someone else and they did so in a way that we do not train, condone or recommend, and we are sorry for your experience. We have your information and we will reach out to you if anything changes.
Stunna Daren
Stunna Daren: They have a wide variety of plants…bought some black mulch which the landscapers says was good quality. A little more expensive, but you do get some warranty on the expensive plants. Also, the manager will personally assist you with questions the staff are not able to. Which is understandable, not all the staff can be highly knowledgeable in plants and shrubs.

Bartholdi Fountain and Gardens (U.S. Botanic Garden): what do users think?
Blair Finkelstein
Blair Finkelstein: Had tea there 6 morning in a row. Quiet in the middle of the city. The fountain was a pleasant source of music. The garden is beautiful and part of it serves as a demonstration kitchen garden. Well worth a stop b
Adriana VH
Adriana VH: Beautiful garden to visit. Counting down to head back up to see the spring flowers in full bloom. First time in years seeing D.C. in the snow in March.
Scott Cornelius
Scott Cornelius: Beautiful park and fountain! Luv these plants bbs
Kyle Hartmann
Kyle Hartmann: Home to the Bartholdi Fountain, designed by the same Frédéric Auguste Bartholdi as the Statue of Liberty (Liberty Enlightening the World), Bartholdi Park (frequently referred to as Bart Park) has great views of the Capitol and cultivated gardens around the fountain. The kitchen garden is spectacular in summer, but cool season crops allow for interest all year. There are regional plants such as bog and carnivorous in a rill, and other ones of interest around the few thousand square-foot park. This is still open despite the pandemic, so it definitely worth checking out if around nearby. Cheers.
Bianca Baldizon
Bianca Baldizon: Absolutely gorgeous and cozy corner garden with a spectacular view of the US Botanical Garden greenhouse. Worth the pit stop!
Camila Botero
Camila Botero: Really beautiful and romantic place.
Maureen Huseman
Maureen Huseman: Beautiful park across the street from the US Capitol Building. Plants and flowers are marked with descriptions. When looking at the fountain in a certain side, you can see the Capitol Building in the background. Very stunning
Sam Odle
Sam Odle: Great spot for reading outside or an outdoor meetup/picnic when the weather is nice. Created in 1932, and named after the sculptor of the Fountain of Light and Water at the park’s center, Bartholdi park is overseen by the Botanical garden and is rarely busy as it’s often overshadowed by the nearby Senate grounds.

Lowe's Home Improvement: what do users think?
Sassy Sauce
Sassy Sauce: Great discounts on Christmas items as part of the holiday sale. I picked up Christmas stockings for under $5.00. There were fire pits on clearance as well. I like this location and they generally have the items I’m in need of for repairs or decorations, etc. The staff is very helpful as well.
Kev- keepingitreal
Kev- keepingitreal: This location offers a variety of affordable items for your home improvement needs. I really appreciate the staff in the aisle for assisting me with finding items on my check list. At check out the cashier was welcoming and friendly. This store was very clean and offers plenty of parking.
Jessica Fullington
Jessica Fullington: Today I went to the garden center for some outside plants. Yolanda was so very helpful! She was able to answer my questions, she even went and got me a cart so that it was easier for me to get the items I purchased to my car. It is so refreshing to have people who are pleasant and helpful at their jobs I will definitely come back to this location to get all the plants I need this spring! Marla was very helpful as well along with the young man who answered some of my questions about my plans. All around a wonderful experience!
goklt
goklt: Lots of materials here. Check out was fast. However good luck asking for assistance. Lots of associates are walking around but not helping customers. I tracked an employee down for assistance in moving materials from a high shelf to store level in the door section. He called two times for assistance to my aisle but no one came and he advised going to customer service. They called and still no help. Had to track somone down in a different department altogether. Crazy.
Chase Johnson
Chase Johnson: The employees here are courteous. But the wood cutting service they claim to offer is not available when needed. The store should just be candid that wood cutting won’t be available (or at the very least won’t be available at any specific time). I am a local DIYer (not a contractor). Before I bought wood I asked about cutting and was told it was no problem—buy it and then request a cut. I did. I was then told the lumber associate wasn’t available for an hour. I couldn’t get the wood (a single sheet of plywood I needed to cut in half) into my car, so I waited. After an hour, there was still no lumber associate, so the wood was never cut.
Annie Signorelli
Annie Signorelli: I ordered a dishwasher with professional installation and the process from start to finish was completely nontransparent and unprofessional. The installation had to be rescheduled because the dishwasher wasn’t pulled down for pick up in time, and then when it was installed it was the incorrect dishwasher — not even the right brand. After several hours on the phone with the Lowes installation line, including being told multiple times that they couldn’t advance the process because they couldn’t get in touch with anyone at their own Lowes store, I called the store directly and was able to sort it out and get the installation rescheduled. A Lowes associate later told me that they don’t have the “luxury” of waiting on hold with the store which is what I had to do in order to ensure my order was completed. Finally the correct dishwasher was installed on the third attempt and I was told I could contact the installation line again to discuss compensation for the inconvenience. Again it took multiple attempts to even get an update on where my case stood, despite being told every time that I should expect a call back “by end of business” every day I called. When I finally got offered compensation it was for less than half of the amount I requested (I requested the installation service be refunded seeing as it took 3 attempts and I was the one having to set everything up because Lowes did not follow through). While I am satisfied with the product I am in disbelief at how difficult and unprofessional the process was with Lowes. I do not recommend purchasing appliances from installation from this store or using the Lowes installation services.

United States National Arboretum: what do users think?
Eduardo Moser
Eduardo Moser: We visited during cherry blossom days. They have a great variety of cherry trees and magnolias. It is a complement to know different cherry blossoms from those of the Tidal Basin. There is no proper public transportation, so the place is fairly free of tourists. We came to this place by car on the recommendation of a friend who lives in DC. The Bonsai collection is amazing. There is much to walk and explore. On a plain they have mounted the original columns of the Capitol. Bring some snacks and drinks, because there is no service in the place. Access and parking is free.
Da-Wang Wu
Da-Wang Wu: We came here in late April, and the Azalea blossoming was pretty amazing! Walking on the trail with the Azalea blossoming along the way was very nice. Parking inside the park can be tricky, so we parked in the lot right next to the entrance and walked 5-10 minutes to the main campus. Overall, it’s a beautiful place, and I would definitely come back.
CJ
CJ: Depending on when you visit the US National Arboretum, something different is peaking. In mid April, the fruit trees were just past peak, but the lilacs shrubs were close to full bloom. As I strolled thru the lilac grove, the soft lilac fragrance permeated the air. One of the US National Arboretum’s most prominent and a little puzzling landmarks is the old Corinthian National Capitol Columns residing on the Ellipse Meadow. The US National Arboretum was not the column’s intended home when they were quarried back in the early 1800s. Originally, the columns were built as a part of the east portico of the US Capitol Building now located about 3 miles away from the US National Arboretum. By the 1860s, when the dome of the Capitol was completed, the columns were deemed inadequate to support the new dome. It wouldn’t be until the mid 1980s before the columns would find their final home at the US National Arboretum. Twenty-two of the original 24 columns are on majestic display in Ellipse Meadow. During our trip to the US National Arboretum in mid April, the Azaleas were just starting to bud and bloom. So no good pictures this trip. Peak time for the Azalea garden at the arboretum is late April. I hear the Azaleas are a beautiful sight when the hillside is painted with splotches of different colors.
Karthikeyan Rajaram
Karthikeyan Rajaram: Luck is when you run into a beautiful place like this without planning. Better luck is when you get into it in the company of a person who used to volunteer at this place. We didn’t really plan to be at the arboretum, considering that the Spring is still not Springy enough. We had seen enough of Cherry Blossoms in the Tidal basin area that we thought we could do something else. We just made it to this place on recommendation from one of our relatives, who also accompanied us. Since he was a volunteer here, he helped us navigate and gave us so much insights about the different kinds of plants, flowers, bonsais and the what the lovely people who work here, do. We drove around this place and still got to see more cherry blossoms, along with different other species of flora. The enchanting Bonsai museum is a must visit as it did take our breathes away. The old columns of the capitol and the grove of different state trees are some of the special features of this place. The flowers were not in full blossom and we definitely look forward to checking this place again in summer.
Logan Heilman
Logan Heilman: Visited for the Bonsai event they were having and had a blast. All the vendors were great and the museums bonsai and penjing exhibit was phenomenal. Will definitely be back.
Elisabeth “Beth” Ostrander
Elisabeth “Beth” Ostrander: We only had about an hour and headed to the bonsai area. Wow! To see living gifts from Japan and China that were started and cared for since before the birth of our nation was truly outstanding. Befitting our National Arboretum! Will return to see more treasures!

Hilda Kroll
Hilda Kroll: This farmers market on the National Mall has local produce and freshly prepared food and beverages you can enjoy at a table or picnic-style on the grass, with blankets provided. There are also interesting special exhibits. Fridays, May through October, from 9-2. A good place to visit before the museums open, have lunch, or pick up fresh fruit, vegetables and other items to take home. Located near the Smithsonian Metro station.
paula mathis
paula mathis: Great place to eat lunch and buy unique items. My favorite food is PUDDIN the Cajun Food Truck and the teens love the Pizza.

Johnson's Florist and Garden Centers: what do users think?
Blair Wright
Blair Wright: Really good garden center, most of the garden centers in this area have closed and this is one of the better ones that had remained open
Lawrence Roffee
Lawrence Roffee: Helpful staff. Well stocked. Very pleasant experience
Sarah McCaines
Sarah McCaines: Terrible place to shop. I used to come here often until recently where they just have new staffing constantly and none of the staff Is actually knowledgeable anymore. I was told to “read a book” and purchase it at a local library because they couldn’t help me. On multiple occasions I was not even greeted at the door of entry and some of the staff have been reluctant to even talk to us. I’m very disappointed, it used to be a lovely place. They do not even have a lot of product and when asked about it I was just given a shrug. In the decor region of the store, I have noticed items that have been around for awhile. I had been coming for years, but I am just shocked by the low quality of upkeep especially since some items are covered in cobwebs or dust or genuinely chipped or broken. Again, when I brought it to the staffs attention, they merely offered me a 10% discount. A lot of items did not have prices on them so when I went up to the counter to ask for a price, it took them nearly 15 minutes and at this point I had given up. I was told the item had been there for a while but if it had been there for awhile it should have had a price. I have had more problems than anything else the last few times that I have been and I will have to say I will no longer be shopping at johnsons. It is more of a hassle lately and a disappointment.
jan suit
jan suit: This nursery has a wonderful gift shop! They have a lot of Christmas decor marked down for anyone who wants it! Last fall I was pleased to be able to purchase some beautiful chrysanthemum plants

Michael Gaasch: I just went here and the Security Guard at the entrance told me that the building was closed even though this website said that it was open. He was not very nice when I told he that the only reason I had tried to go into this Headquarters was to look at the Smokey the Bear.
Subhanir Chitnis

Tam B
Tam B: Take the kids, dogs, family and friends. Nice place to walk and learn about the plants and trees. Get up and get out and walk. Plenty of parking at different location throughout the park. Best part it’s FREE. Avoid the traffic of downtown DC and visit the Arboretum and enjoy the weather. Maybe wait till spring for the herbs and flowers to bloom and bonsai exhibit to open back up.
L
L: What a gem this place is. You can briskly jog and workout with beautiful scenery. You can casually walk and look to study all the amazing plants. A place you can visit any time of any season because there’s a story it’ll tell at any time.
Rin Wolfe
Rin Wolfe: Very underrated place compared to the many museums in the city center. Lots of interesting sights to see including the famous bonsai collection, historic pillars, and the koi pond. If you have the time, you can poke around and find other interesting bits like the spice garden and state tree collection. Lots of nice paved and maintained paths to explore. Nice to visit any time to year, but most beautiful (and busy) when things are in bloom during spring. If possible, visit early on a weekday. Good place to see birds and other local wildlife too.
Laly Franka
Laly Franka: I was impress to see so much beauty in the heart of the district. If you love nature this is the place.

Matthew Nguyen: Many beautiful little trails, sights, plants, and great places to take pictures!
