Dupont Nails and Spa: what do users think?
Maya Patel
Maya Patel: LOVE this spot! They do such a great job - salon specialists are professional, great at their jobs and the perfect balance of being friendly yet not overbearing/overly chatty - this allows you to truly relax and do your own thing! People are generally respectful here about not taking phone calls, making it the perfect place to listen to music (headphones always), read or unwind 📚 It also helps that they offer a complimentary drink including water, tea or wine 💆🏻‍♀️
Savanna Nikole
Savanna Nikole: Best nails ive ever had! We made appointments arrived earlier than expected (traveling) by about 30min they took us and the lady i had was magnificent! She took her time, explained everything, and NOT one nail was Crooked!!!! She never tried to pressure me into "better products" she offered, i said no thank you and she kept on with her work. If i lived in the area i would never go elsewhere. Fyi: its a very small tight space but they honestly do make the best of it, when i first walked down there my anxiety went crazy but they offered wine and everyone was very organized and polite.
Aida Abedini
Aida Abedini: Great experience with Jenny! I’ll definitely come back!Service: Dip powder
Rikki Miller
Rikki Miller: Had the great luck of getting Sam on my first trip to Dupont Nails. Have now seen her twice and am absolutely in love with her attention to detail and sunshiney personality. I loved the color on her nail when I visited this weekend, and she was kind enough to go find the bottle to paint my nails the same color instead of what I had picked out. I also had the misfortune of two broken nails- one broken down the center, and she knew exactly how to fix them and make them look beautiful despite the short length. I have my next appointment scheduled and cannot wait to see her again. She is truly the best!
Maddiw215
Maddiw215: The SNS selection was only maybe 50 colors, and the manicure was the worst I’ve had in DC. Multiple nails are different lengths and the polish is uneven at the base on multiple nails. The reason I give them two stars is because the nail technician was willing to try and make it right but really it was unsalvageable.
Sydney Wilson
Sydney Wilson: I visited this salon for the first time and got Sam as my technician. She was fantastic, super sweet, and had the most amazing attention to detail! I will definitely be back!
Madison Bowers
Madison Bowers: Jenny did an amazing job!
Pamela Agava
Pamela Agava: The technician was nice and courteous and did a great pedicure but was horrible at shaping and doing overlay for my hands. When I asked for a new person she begged me to let her finish and assured she was going to make it right. End of story, I left with her drawing blood through careless use of the tools on three different fingers and a nail overlay that looks like a five year old did it. All I can say is beware here—there are qualified techs and obvious novices. This place takes the relaxation out of services because you have to watch everything until you’re certain what kind of tech you have.

Wisconsin Nail & Waxing: what do users think?
Monica Sharp
Monica Sharp: I’m someone who usually only trusts myself with my nails, but I’m glad that, after 5-6 years of not having professional service done, I trusted my hands and feet to the folks at Wisconsin Nail and Waxing! Online scheduling was a breeze and done 2 hours prior to. Upon arrival, I was greeted right away and the gentleman (sorry, I didn’t catch your name) got right to work. He was patient with me as I decided which color and nail art I wanted to try, and very friendly. Another young lady did my pedicure and she was just as friendly and helpful as the guy was. Honestly, I got that vibe from everyone who worked there. The salon itself is small and intimate—I even struck up conversation with a couple other clients, and that has never happened to me before. It’s also Very clean—the tools were either brand new or completely sanitized. I was a bit surprised that a manicure didn’t come with my dip powder full set, but that’s on me for misunderstanding. Parking is tough, but it’s Georgetown so…that happens and that’s not the salon’s fault. All in all, Wisconsin Nail has a new client! Update (12/18): They did it again! This time, Jenny worked on my nails and executed my gingerbread vision perfectly! I was in a “blah” mood when I came in this morning, and the massages I received, the conversation, and overall service boosted my mood! Update (2/17): “🎵Sometimes you want to go, where everybody knows your name…🎵” This is my second visit since December, and while the work was still incredible (check the pic with the green and yellow nails), this is about the service. I walked in and was greeted by name, and genuinely asked about my recent issues with family loss and illness. This is a salon that truly cares. They don’t only care about you, but they care about your nails too. They saved my nails from the botched job I had done when I had to go home for a few weeks as well. Services: Manicures , Foot massage , Dip powder , Pedicures
Response: You are so sweet. It was great to have you as our customer. Hope to see you soon.
Michelle Heffner
Michelle Heffner: Positive: Cleanliness, Professionalism, Punctuality, Quality, ValueHad a great first experience at Wisconsin Nails and Waxing. They saw me right away on a week night. I came in with an exact idea of shape and style for my nails and Jenny executed it perfectly. She was patient and ensured it was what I wanted. I LOVE my nails and will definitely go back again.Services: Manicures, Nail art, Dip powder, Pedicures, Acrylic nails

Anna Normand
Anna Normand: Positive: Cleanliness, Professionalism, Punctuality, QualityWisconsin Nails is amazing!! The salon is very clean, well managed and comfortable and they play great music and TV. Minh is an incredible nail artist and is always able to recreate exactly what I want! Can’t recommend the salon enough.Services: Gel manicure, Nail art, Acrylic nails

Marla Meyer
Marla Meyer: Expertly executed manicure and pedicure. I have been searching for good nail services for a while and finally found a salon that meets my high expectations. They pay attention to detail including trimming cuticle, filing shapely nails, and polish application. They are sensitive to customer preferences - cut versus file nails, etc. The team works quickly but does not skip steps or make one feel rushed. They encourage comfort and have terrific massage chairs. The salon is very clean and they observe Covid precautions. I highly recommend Wisconsin Nail and Waxing. Services: Manicures , Pedicures
Response: You are very nice. I appreciate your time leaving feedback for our store. See you soon.
Sophie Bright
Sophie Bright: My first time getting my nails done since moving to DC, and I needed something neutral for being in a wedding party. I was very impressed with this spot. They did a great job, very nice, clean and professional. Will definitely be back. Nathan specifically was so great (he deserves a boba!)
Response: WOW. So kind of you. Thank you for your feedback. Have a wonderful day. See you soon.
Jessica Kirschner
Jessica Kirschner: Friendly and welcoming staff. Love my pedicure! Interior is very clean, does not have harsh chemical smell which was very refreshing. I also appreciated the TV volume not being on which made the experience much more relaxing, loved the big windows. Will definitely be returning, thank you!
Response: Thank you very much for your feedback. We were glad to serve you.
Cecilia Myers
Cecilia Myers: Minh did my an acrylic nail design for me a couple of weeks ago and they’re still fully intact! I really love the way they came out and he was super kind and did an amazing job!Service: Acrylic nails
Response: You are very welcome here. Putting a smile on your face is our job. Glad to have you come back with us soon.

mari fofa: Wow. I love this place. Not only is the customer service amazing. There is plenty of dip powder, and gel options. May I also add the quality is perfection. LUSH NAIL BAR DC: what do users think?
Thirty Glick
Thirty Glick: I was so excited to come back because they did such a great job on my Valentine day nails and they actually took care of me with care. Today was the exact opposite, it was a disaster. I asked for a soak off and was in the soak bowl for about an hour straight without even being asked am I okay, didn’t care to ask if I wanted anything to drink but everyone else did. Then the lady doing my soak off “manicure” goes off to take care of someone else the whole entire time. I’m literally watching everyone being attended too and taken care of with appreciation except for me I felt very neglected, I don’t know if it’s bc I asked for a dip at the last minute added to my manicure. Honestly i’m more of the fact upset that they me walk out with my “manicure” that looks like this. I’m sad that I even had to take the time of day to even write this.
Response: Hello, we are very sorry you experienced this. We were aware that you expressed you did not have an appointment and only wanted your nails to be soaked off, then later changed your mind about the service you wanted to receive. We were very busy with next oncoming appointments that were booked already so to be fair we could not stop doing their service. We are sorry if there were any miscommunications.
Taylor Eaton
Taylor Eaton: I was a first time customer after seeing an Instagram ad of the salon and wanted to give it a try after reading the positive reviews, and I was not disappointed. The staff are incredibly kind and the atmosphere is clean and relaxing. I was seen right on time and the design I requested was executed perfectly. Jenny did a fantastic job and had such an attention to detail. I will absolutely be back ! Services: Acrylic nails , Nail art
Response: Thank you so much for coming we appreciate you
anyah le
anyah le: Great nail salon, they KILLED my nail designs I wanted. Very professional and kind. They also fixed my big toenail that broke and made it look natural as possible 💅🏽
Madison Summers
Madison Summers: I wanted to love this place. They have talented nail techs who were able to achieve the looks I asked for however, I experienced some serious attitude after making an appointment online and the staff saying that the manager did not communicate with them about existing online appointments vs calling and making one on the phone. As a result, my tech was rude and distracted and did not give me the full manicure experience of hand massage/lotion/making sure my natural nails were even. It’s still a nice spot in the neighborhood but make sure you call to make an appointment and be prepared to wait even if you do Services: Acrylic nails , Manicures , Nail art
Response: We apologize for the inconvenience but there is one thing that I cannot fix is that sometimes an employee doesn’t show up to work, or sometimes a woman comes in ask for a design that takes longer than expected sometimes girls say they want French tips and they end up doing a crazy design instead of 30 minutes it takes an hour to tell the customer to get up and leave we tried switching to first come first serve but then everybody got upset that we didn’t have appointments so this is a problem that we cannot fix because sometimes a person changes their mind and we have to redo their nails so I apologize that you experienced that we can take care of the staff with the attitude if you can email us what they look like but with the time it’s something we cannot manage I apologize
Kyvonne Elliott
Kyvonne Elliott: I love Lush Nail Bar! A beautiful place to pamper yourself and leave smiling. I always make an appointment and they are always ready for me. I never have to worry if I am going to like my nails. Tori NEVER misses. Everyone is super professional and friendly. This is my place forever. Services: Acrylic nails , Manicures , Foot massage , Pedicures , Nail art
Stephanie C.
Stephanie C.: Positive: Cleanliness, QualityThis nail salon was recommended by a friend and I LOVE LOVE LOVE it! They always do an amazing job on my acrylic nails and pedicures. I love the interior designs, music and the vibes overall. I’ve come here continuously since my first time and my last experience was so great I feel I should only brag! Definitely recommend!Services: Acrylic nails, Pedicures, Nail art
Melanie M
Melanie M: The first time I came here when they first opened, I really enjoyed my experience and recommended several of my friends here. The place is in a very convenient location, it’s clean, I was offered champagne, etc. Overall, it was a very positive visit and I left happy. However recently when I went, I had to wait 10 minutes for someone to finally start on my manicure (after booking my appointment 3 weeks in advance) and both my manicure/pedicure were so rushed. Within 45 minutes, I had finished both and the nail tech was already onto someone else. I left very disappointed and was not happy that I was being rushed on. It felt like the nail tech wanted to just finish with my service quickly so they could squeeze in more clients. I would have hoped that if I made an appointment (especially so far in advance), that they would dedicate extra time on my nails and not treat me like a second priority. For the price I paid, I’m not sure if the service I received is worth it. Services: Gel manicure , Pedicures
Mary Gordon
Mary Gordon: Great salon, I got a gel manicure and they took me earlier than my appointment time. They have reasonable prices and a nice color selection. I’m really happy with my manicure!
nina washington
nina washington: I’ve been coming to this place to get my nails done by Tori. It’s super cute inside and everyone is always very friendly.

Caroline Frentz
Caroline Frentz: I’ve been going to Deep Blue for a while and they always do an amazing job! I just got a gel manicure with nail art and my nail tech did such an incredible job. I love itServices: Nail art, Gel manicure
Response: I appreciate your time leaving a very kind feedback for our store. We are happy to make our customers happy. See you soon.
윤아 YOONA
윤아 YOONA: The stoe is clean and people are nice. But Loni was rough. I told her it hurts but she continued with hard pressure... Eventually I had 3 bleeding events. Also she poured the powder on the table and reused it. She needs to focus on. The result was not bad.
Response: I am so sorry about the bad experience you had with us. I wish you could tell me right there so that I would help you fix it. It is never late to fix a mistake. Please call our store and mention about this message and we can make you happy again.
Amanda Garley
Amanda Garley: Positive: Cleanliness, Professionalism, Punctuality, Quality, ValueThey use separate cups for the dip powder and sanitize those as well. My manicurist Trim did an excellent job, nails were not thick. Even convinced my friend who didn’t like powder to give it a try!Services: Pedicures, Dip powder, Manicures
Response: Thank you very much for your reviews. We always try our best to make you happy. Please come back soon.
Taylor Lohman
Taylor Lohman: Made me wait forever without giving me actual wait time (also did that to someone sitting next to me) and my nails didn’t come out that great for a regular French tip. I had things to do couldn’t even get my toes done took so long. The staff was kind of rude. Wouldn’t recommend spend your money elsewhere.
Response: Dear Ms. Base on the service record and camera footage. We didn't service you here. I don't know where you have gotten your nails done at. But please down this review. This is blasphemy. That's not right at all. Thank you.
Ariyana Monee
Ariyana Monee: Pretty nice pedicure. Only negative is that I have cuts on my toes from her pushing my cuticle back so hard and filing my skin :/ .Service: Pedicures
Response: You are very nice. I appreciate your time leaving feedback for our store. See you soon.
Ivy Fortner
Ivy Fortner: Positive: Professionalism, QualityDeep Blue did an amazing job! I got a classic pedicure and SNS. This was my first time doing SNS but now I’m hooked. They were clean and attentive to detail. I will definitely be going back.Service: Pedicures
Response: Thank you very much for your reviews. We always try our best to make you happy. Please come back soon.
Gabrielle Doria Rhoads
Gabrielle Doria Rhoads: The employees and the space is nice, but I got a pedicure and gel manicure a week ago and the gel started chipping off almost immediately and then a large portion of it just peeled off out of nowhere. It felt like they were rushing us through and it didn’t cure long enough. The nail tech also made both my feet and hands bleed when cutting the cuticles and my toe was very swollen and painful for about 2 days afterwards. I don’t find the quality to match the price.
Response: Hi, I would like to apologize for your bad experience with us. I wish I were there to fix your issue right there when it happened. It is not too late to make things right. Please give us a callback and we can discuss how can we fix it. I appreciate your sympathy. Thank you.
Dena Bagby
Dena Bagby: Positive: Cleanliness, Professionalism, Punctuality, Quality, ValueGreat place and easy to make an appointment!! My nails look great and were done in no time. All of the staff is very friendly and accommodating! The atmosphere is calm and relaxing. The price is very reasonable as well. I will definitely be back when in town again.Service: Manicures
Response: I appreciate your time leaving a very kind feedback for our store. We are happy to make our customers happy. See you soon.
Natalie Mack
Natalie Mack: I went there to just get 1 broken nail fixed since I was only not even a week ago and I waited almost an hour. I eventually just walked out. Meanwhile there are people in the back who could have easily assisted in helping since they said they could take me Roberto- My nail was completely all soaked and taken off within the first 20 minutes. Your workers are very nice, but have no regards to people’s time. It does not take nearly an hour to remove one nail, as it was already taken off with just one wipe of a towel that I did. Your responses to constructive criticism is very unprofessional
Response: We’d like to apologize for the not so good experience you had on your last visit. I can ensure you and our customers that this is not usually happened here at our salon. So please consider coming back and let us have a chance to make it up for you. Thank you and hope to see you soon.

JADORE BEAUTY SPA: what do users think?
Sarah Norton
Sarah Norton: I come here frequently and have held off on leaving a review until now. There have been some issues in the past, but I have tried to be understanding and forgiving. I made an appointment weeks ago for a fill today with Pink. I come in today on time for my appointment and am told Pink is not here, and can I wait for Tony to do my nails? I agree thinking it will be a cpl of minutes, and I go to the bathroom. While in the bathroom I’m called by Jenny, the business owner, and told it will be 30+ minutes until Tony arrives. Honestly, I should have left then. When I came out of the bathroom, Tiffany offered to take off my acrylic in order to get things started until Tony arrives. While doing this, another customer arrived for her noon appointment with Jenny who is also not here. So now Pink, Tony, and Jenny are not here. Tiffany asked the customer to wait 40 minutes, then Jenny called and spoke to this customer as well. At this point, the polish has been filed off of 4 of my nails. A walk in comes in to have her nails done and Tiffany leaves me to do this woman’s nails. I don’t begrudge this other customer having her nails done, but really?? The person I’m booked with isn’t here. The business owner isn’t here. Tiffany gets me started, then leaves me minutes into the process to take care of someone else. Since I am waiting 30+ minutes for my appointment to start (even though I booked ahead and was on time) then why couldn’t this walk in customer have waited for a few minutes until at the very least, all 10 of my nails had been filed, instead of just 4?? I can’t very well leave now with 4 nails filed, even though I am thoroughly frustrated. When I expressed this frustration, Tiffany was very defensive saying that I had agreed to wait. And she’s right, I did agree to wait because she was at least getting me started. But now she’s not even helping me. I am one of two customers who made an appointment at noon that is not being seen on time, and not because the salon is running late, but because the employees aren’t even present. What is the point of making an appointment at all if this is the result? Apparently, Pink no longer works here. Jenny should have gone through Pink’s appointment calendar and made arrangements for her customers instead of waiting until I was at the salon to call me. It’s just so disrespectful of her customers time and shows a lack of planning and leadership. Very disheartening. I’m sad to even be writing this because I like this salon a lot, it’s very clean and relaxing and I’m always happy with my service (except the one time I had Tiffany do my nails; big mistake), but this is just no way to do business. I don’t want to leave this place because as I said, there’s a lot to like here and Jenny and Tony are very sweet people. I guess I’ll just have to wait and see what happens when they get here. Update! It’s several hours later. Jenny and Tony arrived roughly 25 minutes after my appointment time. They were very kind and gracious, I said they’re sweet people! Tony took a lot of time on my service and made sure I was happy. He then took a percentage off of the price. Jenny also reached out this afternoon after I got home and apologized again. I’ll stay with this salon for now, as I said it’s very clean and relaxing. Just know that when going to this salon, you’ll be happy with your nails, but appointment times may or may not be adhered to. Service: Acrylic nails
Alia Mull
Alia Mull: Anna was sooooo nice and fast! Very professional. She did a real cute design and wanted to perfect it to make sure i was pleased. The place was spotless and modern/fancy. Everyone was friendly and spoke, it was welcoming. And the price wasn’t too expensive it was reasonable. I’m definitely going back! And I’m so picky it’s rare i say that. Ask for Anna! Service: Acrylic nails
Poojita Sharan
Poojita Sharan: I came in pretty late in the day but Jade was very patient and did not rush me at all. She was thorough and even did some areas for free since I had never removed hair in those places. She was such a treat to talk to and the whole experience was very pleasant! Not to mention, the waxing didn’t hurt as much as it does because she uses a different type of wax based on the part of the body!
Teisha Camp
Teisha Camp: Positive: Cleanliness, Professionalism, Punctuality, Quality, ValueJenny is my waxer. I love her she has soft hands and she is very fast. She communicated with me the whole time to make sure of my comfort. This is a very relaxing place to get pampered. I will be back. I have found a new spa home.Services: Pedicures, Body Waxing, Waxing
nikola vulic
nikola vulic: My first experience with waxing and Jade did outstanding job, professional and detailed oriented, skilled and exceptional personality made me feel so comfortable that I took a nap during process (even I heard waxing is painful) :))Definitely going back.
Dayton Slye
Dayton Slye: I have been going to Jenny for multiple years and I recommend her to anyone and everyone! She is absolutely amazing! The services are painless, comfortable, clean, and she is meticulous about everything. If I could give 100 stars, I would! Since Jenny has updated her space, I wanted to update my review! I went for a wax and it was still perfect but now she is offering nail services! I got a basic pedicure and a dip manicure and both turned out perfectly. Cindy was the nail tech I worked with and she was so friendly, made sure everything was perfect, and helped me pick colors based off of a design I showed her! Have had the pleasure of working with more of the nail techs and have not had one bad experience. 10 out of 10!
Carly Nicholas
Carly Nicholas: I am so happy I came to Jadore for my first ever brazilian wax. I felt comfortable the whole time and there was nearly no pain! I will definitely be back
Hannah Booth
Hannah Booth: I’m traveling for a work trip and needed to get SNS for my nails and a pedicure. The customer service was amazing and they were very thorough on my nails and toes! I never do reviews like this but needed to shout them out!
Brian J
Brian J: Made me wait an additional 20 minutes past my scheduled appointment time. No time management or people skills. I left before they could finish. Awful establishment.Service: Manicures

Sam Wynn
Sam Wynn: This is seriously one of the best nail salon I’ve been too. Lynn and the staff were friendly and very professional. They care and did an amazing job on my manicure and pedicures this week. I came in and got a power dip manicure plus a deluxe pedicure. My nails came out with perfect thickness and color and my pedicure was a very relaxing one. All cuticles were cut clean and they did an excellent job with my toe polish. Very expert and efficient. I have to admit every single dollar spent here was worth every cent. Several of my friends were referred by me and they’re now regulars here. The best nail salon in Washington DC, hands down. Can’t wait for the next visit.
Response: Hi Sam! It was a pleasure taking care of you. Thank you for your kind words and positive feedback. We appreciate the time you took to let our team know that you noticed our efforts towards superior care and service. We hope to see you again, real soon.
J3rric3 _
J3rric3 _: To start off, the lady who did my nails kept cutting my cuticles which caused me to bleed. They do not have prices for dip powder nails unless you specifically ask. I ended up getting gel polish with tips, and my nails came out bulky and uneven. This place is good for a quick pedicure, but not full sets. My roommate also had a horrible experience.
Caitlin Earle
Caitlin Earle: I live right around the corner so convenience-wise this nail salon is the best option. There are multiple other salons within a 5 minute walk and I never go to those places because this is a great salon! I get gel manicures and pedicures and have been happy with every nail technician who has worked with me. I want to particularly shout out Julie who did a flawless job for me the first time she helped me and since then I have asked for her every time. Her gel manicures have lasted 3+ weeks every time and she also never hurts me when she trims my cuticles, which is a big concern for me! All of the ladies who work here are meticulous and the atmosphere and customer service is great.
Response: Hi Caitlyn! Thank you for the wonderful review and for taking the time to share your feedback with us. Our priority is quality and customer service and we are ecstatic that we met that mark! Customers like you make our job a pleasure. Come back and see us soon.
Ericka Morales
Ericka Morales: Went with my friend for the first time on a Saturday afternoon. We were looking for places that still had slots & when I called the lady was able to make an appt for both of us. We were attended pretty fast, showed them what we wanted and the results were great. The price was reasonable as well. Only reason it’s 4 and not a 5 was because I had to wait a bit for another lady to attend me to finish my nail design that I wanted. But they came out beautiful!
Response: Hello Ericka! Than kyou for your feedback and we're happy you were satisfied with the results. We appreciate you letting us know where we can improve as we're thriving to ensure quality for our customers. We will share this with all our technicians to make sure that our clients have our full attention. Look forward to serving you better in the future.
Sebli Deju
Sebli Deju: I got my eyelashes done on Friday may 13. I explained to the lady that I wanted my eyelashes to the certain way. The answer she gave me was ‘ Don’t worry’ which I thought was real and I thought she really understood what I meant. The place is all about money. They don’t care about the customer’s needs. All they tell you is not to worry which means you should worry more than ever because they are going to make you look something you don’t like or something they think would cost you more, but not your choice. After taking more than 2 hours on my eyelashes I told the lady that I didn’t like the look. It wasn’t the way I wanted it or the way I explained it to her in the beginning. Her answer was still ‘don’t worry don’t worry I’ll fix it and I’ll charge you less’. This isn’t about the money woman. I could have payed better if the service was the way I wanted it. You guys should start Caring about satisfying your customer’s needs not your benefit from doing wrong. I hate the experience and I’ll never try to get it back again at this place. I’ll never recommend people to go there and get upset either. Service: Eyelash extensions
Monica Reyes
Monica Reyes: At my job, it’s critical that I don’t wear vibrant colors; including pink. I showed them this reference picture multiple times, and emphasized multiple times that I want a clear or tan-like base. They completely ignored my wishes and use the language barrier as an excuse as to why they didn’t go with what I asked for. On top of ignoring my wishes, and proceeding to paint my nails pink, due to them not being organized and trying to take as many customers as possible they messed up this very simple design and tried covering it up instead of fixing it. This mess was a total of nearly $70. Save your money and go to someone who truly appreciates nail art, and offer better prices. Services: Acrylic nails , Gel manicure , Nail art
Response: Thank you for for review and feedback. Sorry that our works did not meet your expectation. Our staff select the closest possible color for your nails. If you're not satisfied with our works, please let our manager know before leaving and we'll do our best to correct it for you.
Que “Cookie” Irving
Que “Cookie” Irving: the staff is nice & attentive but the only thing i don’t like is they are a little overpriced but the quality is leveled to the price so i understand. my nails been on since march 8th & i still have my full set on. i do have different ladies to do my toes & nails separately.Services: Gel manicure, Pedicures
Response: Hi Que, Thank you for taking your time to provide valuable feedback related to our salon. We are sincerely concerned and apologize that we fell short of your expectations. We’ll learn from the experience to ensure better service for our customers.
Naomi Kumar
Naomi Kumar: This is the first time in my life that I’ve gotten a mani/pedi that didn’t chip within 24 hours. I have long nails and work with my hands so they tend to chip easily but it’s been a few days and they are still perfect! I’m so amazed. The artist was very sweet, made sure I was happy with the finished looks and really helped the pain in my feet from the callous remover sugar scrub. She also did a really nice massage on my legs and arms. Will definitely go back! Services: Manicures , Pedicures
Response: Hi Naomi! Thank you for giving us a try and glad that you are satisfied with our services and enjoyed the atmosphere. Your kind words mean a lot to our staff and it was our pleasure having you. Hope to see you again soon.

DC NAIL SPA: what do users think?
Rachel Sherman
Rachel Sherman: This nail salon is the BEST I’ve experienced in 11 years in DC. I go to Thao, and she knows every shape and design I want before I can even explain it. She takes her time, making sure every finger matches. She’s incredibly kind and patient. And they’re very good at pricing!
Ali Harris
Ali Harris: This was the best experience I’ve had in dc for nails (I moved here in 2021). The nail tech that I had did an amazing job and was super skilled and quick. I showed her a picture of what I had in mind, she took one look and perfectly replicated it on my nails. Even the person next to me commented that she loved my nails! Staff were super friendly and helpful, and the place was very clean and polished inside. Great experience 11/10. Services: Acrylic nails , Dip powder , Nail art , Gel manicure
Gabrielle Rothschild
Gabrielle Rothschild: They were very fast and seemed kinda clean overall. However, they had old nail polish that didn’t dry at all. An hour and a half after my manicure was done the polish got messed up and I had to take it off the same day. Won’t be coming back:(
Quinn Scanlan
Quinn Scanlan: I always have a great experience at DC NAIL SPA. The woman who did my nails this latest time tested the color I picked before doing it and I ended up switching, so I appreciated that. Very clean establishment and they always fit me in even though I never have an appointment. A tad more expensive than Mimosa Salons but I think it’s worth paying more to come here. My gel mani/pedis have always lasted longer.
jillian berkowitz
jillian berkowitz: Can’t recommend dc nail spa enough. I leave every time with an amazing manicure. They are super friendly and very efficient!! 10/10Service: Manicures
Sarah Zoubek
Sarah Zoubek: My go-to spot! Very professional and clean - feels a bit like a spa but without the high-end spa prices. I do a lot of dip nails here and have been impressed w them vs other nail places I go to where the dip looks super chunky and uneven. I have been super pleased the last few times I went.
Response: You are very nice. I appreciate your time leaving feedback for our store. See you soon.
Ruta Karpauskaite
Ruta Karpauskaite: Great salon for dip manicure - have been multiple times and it never disappoints.
Chantele Smith
Chantele Smith: I love Nikki! She does such a wonderful job on my nails. DC Nail Spa is busy but they make sure everyone gets quality service.Service: Acrylic nails
Response: You are very welcome here. Putting a smile on your face is our job. Glad to have you come back with us soon.

Persimmon Nail Spa Washington: what do users think?
Tiffany Phu
Tiffany Phu: We loved everything about this nail salon. Right when we walked in, we were welcomed with drinks and sat immediately. The massage chairs were comfortable, friendly service, and I loved how my nails turned out. Highly recommend! Good for bigger groups too since they have the space. We felt like we were in a spa!
Krystyna Graham
Krystyna Graham: I have been coming to persimmon nail salon for years. I typically get gel pedicures; a select few times in the past I’ve gotten gel manicures. I am always pleased with my results, it doesn’t seem to matter who I see. I like that they offered different levels of service beyond just the standard pedicure. I typically go for the deluxe or spa pedicure for the extra exfoliating scrub, foot and leg massage with oil, and hot stones. I also love that they serve mimosas/champagne! The nail techs are always friendly and accommodating. And I’ve been pleased with how long the polish lasts. And other salons, due to their rushed techniques, I’ve had gel polish actually come off within 36 hours which is totally unacceptable! That’s never happened here. So if you’re looking for a solid gel Mani and Pedi, this is a great option. My only gripe is that street parking can be difficult to find in this location! Services: Gel manicure , Pedicures
Jenna Alves
Jenna Alves: I was hesitant to write this and I’m not even a review person, but I want to save someone some money. I will say they were very nice but the manicure was bad. I came here after looking for a while and read a decent amount of very good reviews, but I will not be back. I got a gel manicure that started to crack and lift after 1 week! Not to mention I paid $57 for it!! Not including tip. The design I asked for was simple lines with a French tip and it was messy and not symmetrical. There wasn’t even enough polish on one nail and you could see straight through it… and it was black polish. Save your money. Service: Gel manicure
Brynn Smith
Brynn Smith: Shortly after landing in DC for vacation from Tx I broke one of my dip nails pretty bad. I went into panic mode researching to find a good place to get my nails redone. 4pm on a Friday and they didn’t hesitate getting me in. All were friendly and I’ve never had such a great set of dipped nails, seriously. None of them seemed to be rushing their clients and they all seemed to be talking to their regulars like old friends. Seems like a great place to go if I lived here.
Kalli Chamberlain
Kalli Chamberlain: Critical: QualityAbsolutely awful gel manicure. I got my nails done on Thursday late afternoon and these are what they look like today. You can see brush strokes and they look dirty (and they are not). Definitely not worth $37!!!Service: Gel manicure
Andrea Lennon
Andrea Lennon: Critical: Professionalism, Quality, ValueA family member recommended this place and I was excited because her nails always look good and she’s picky like me. I got the dip with tips. My nails are uneven, lumpy and look like they have dips in them. The nail tech Holly was very rude and basically put me out because I questioned my nails.Service: Dip powder
Oulimata Khoule
Oulimata Khoule: I was charged $70 for nails that look nothing like I wanted. I was told that the french tip design was too complicated (the second picture). My nails are uneven and very thick he did not take the time to file them correctly. They initially asked more $99 which did not make any sense for short nails. I have gotten longer nails at that place for less. They have offered drinks for all the to guests in the salon but me. I felt racially profiled they even refused to give me a hand massage after the service. As a fourth year student in DC, I have been there many times and recommended friends. I will never return and I will go to another nail place to take these things off. I would not recommend especially to people of color. Service: Acrylic nails
a
a: I made a last minute appointment, and I was taken care of right away. The man who did my acrylic nails was amazing, from the conversation to his work. He knew that I don’t get my nails done often, so he took time to help me pick out colors and didn’t rush even when the store had closed. He gave me extra at home care for my terrible cuticles, and decided last minute to add the gem on my finger. I didn’t pick it out, but he told me that he wanted me to feel like a princess for my birthday coming up. Wow, I’ve never had such a great interaction with a nail tech! Thank you for making me feel so special! I’m still smiling about how much he uplifted me.
Meghan Chaney
Meghan Chaney: This was my second time here. The first time was amazing and my gel manicure lasted 3 weeks. Second time not so much. Got my gel manicure on a Wednesday afternoon as of Friday morning all but two nails are completely gone. Gel is supposed to last minimum 2 weeks without chipping and this has never happened to me anywhere else. Worst part is this happened right as I’m leaving town for a wedding. Don’t trust this place!

Laveda Lash & Brow Boutique: what do users think?
Nina G.
Nina G.: I’ve driven past Laveda for who knows how long, and I finally decided to give them a try. I’m SO happy with my lashes!! Esther did an incredible job making them natural but still defined. It’s such a confidence booster, since I had my lashes done elsewhere and felt like they were too doll-like. I’ve gotten so many compliments! Everyone was friendly, and the decor is beautiful. Definitely recommend and can’t wait to go back for my fill-in! Service: Eyelash enhancements
Serena Alsup
Serena Alsup: Fantastic experience! I got my lashes permed and Sally did an amazing job. She walked me through everything she was doing and made me feel very comfortable and always checked up on me to make sure I was okay throughout the process. I like how she paid attention to detail to make sure every single eyelash was permed the correct way and there were no stragglers left behind. I will be coming back again. Service: Eyelash enhancements
Crystal Nicole
Crystal Nicole: Positive: Cleanliness, Professionalism, Punctuality, Quality, ValueSally performed the acne facial on me. She was sweet and professional. Communicated every step of the process. I will definitely be returning for more facials. I loved the entire process, very relaxing and pampering. The results were great. The Salon is beautiful and everyone was professional and timely.Service: Facial treatments
Christina Ospina
Christina Ospina: They *nail* it every time (ba-dum-cha). No really, this is my favorite place to get my nails done in DC. Great service every time, and prices are fair!Recently got a matte gel, which I’m obsessed with.
Jessie Mehrhoff
Jessie Mehrhoff: Lisa was wonderful! I showed her pictures- she walked me through how to achieve the results based on my eyelashes- and worked swiftly to execute. Always ensuring I remained comfortable. I’ve never been pleased with extensions before, this time I was so pleased i immediately re-booked with her! Service: Eyelash extensions
Pamela Inserra
Pamela Inserra: Positive: Cleanliness, Professionalism, Quality, ValueI have been going to the 14th street location to get my eyebrows waxed the past few months and I have had a wonderful experience every time. I decided to get my nails done there today, and I was very impressed! Becca did a wonderful job and I will definitely be going back..now for both my eyebrows and nails!
Dina Daas
Dina Daas: Positive: Cleanliness, Professionalism, Punctuality, Quality, ValueBianca was absolutely wonderful! My nails were perfectly shaped and the nail art was exactly what I was hoping for. Best SNS manicure I’ve gotten since moving to the area.Service: Dip powder
Lanise
Lanise: Esther was amazing! This was my first time ever having lash extensions and she made Me extremely comfortable. Overall, the salon is very clean and beautiful, and the staff is amazing. I’ll definitely be back soon!Service: Eyelash enhancements
Lisa R. Montalban
Lisa R. Montalban: This was my first time at Laveda after having researched many nail salons in the area for spa pedis and nail services. Anna gave me a wonderful relaxing spa pedicure and my feet look amazing! I was then assigned Coco for a full set with gel nail. I also had a video of a design I wanted for my nails. She "nailed" the design. My hands look awesome! Thank you! Thank you! For making my first experience at Laveda a good one. I will be a repeat customer ☺️ Services: Nail art , Gel manicure , Pedicures , Foot massage
Moe Moe
Moe Moe: This is only my second time coming to this salon so I am still very new. First time it was just for eyebrow wax. This time I thought I get a regular pedicure as well. Let me first say I scheduled appointment online with two different people one for eyebrow wax and another person for pedicure but i did not get that. So that seemed weird but I wasn’t going to make a big deal about it as long as they did a good job. Anyways I never get pedicures i usually do my feet at home to be honest with regular nail polish. I have never had gel so I am unfamiliar with it. I signed up for a regular pedicure online and when I arrived they asked me to pick my color which i did off the shelf. Everything was fine until checkout when they tried to charge me for a gel pedicure. Technician applied the color I selected, she applied a clear coat nail polish on top and dried with a drier which I thought was standard. It did not look like a gel as far as I know and nor did I ever ask for gel nor did she mention she was using a gel. Again I am not a regular with pedicures at salons so this is still all new to me. I did let her know when she kept putting the drier on my feet I was concerned bc it kept touching my actual nails and I thought it may be messing up the polish she was applying. So maybe she decided to switch to gel at this point? I don’t know I wasn’t paying attention. Or if I selected a gel nail polish by accident and did not realize it if so it would have been nice if would she would have pointed this out to me as I definitely did not want gel. But at checkout I was about to be charged for gel. I explained nicely to the receptionist I did not ask for gel I asked for a regular pedicure so this was a mistake. I actually have never had gel. I’m not sure if she was mad at me or the technician for making the mistake and not communicating with me properly but when I mentioned this she came back with attitude. It just made me feel uncomfortable for even mentioning it. I was just trying to being honest and not get charged for something I did not ask for. They honored the price but im not sure I will be back. Good Customer service is important to me. Services: Eyebrows , Pedicures

Eastern Market Nails: what do users think?
ameshia hardy
ameshia hardy: I wanted to like this place, it has a nice chill ambiance and they provide wine so it was perfect at first. Then when it was time for my fill in the nail tech popped out her paper towel and pen and started to add additional fees for everything. $70 for a basic spa pedi with gel and $70 for a fill in with a basic dot design on each nail. That’s a rip off. I’ve never paid over $55 for a gel pedi or over $60 for a fill in with a design. These nail techs in here price gouge just to get more money when I was planning to tip well. All those extra charges are your tip. I won’t be returning. I’m not broke but I’m not paying more for services when I know it’s cheaper everywhere else. Services: Manicures , Acrylic nails , Waxing , Pedicures , Gel manicure
Christie Nightingale
Christie Nightingale: I have booked numerous appointments for acrylic nails and basic manicures. I always have found this place to be great - the service and the work performed exceptional. I would highly recommend this salon.Services: Manicures, Acrylic nails
Leshia Cushing
Leshia Cushing: My appointment elsewhere fell through, so popped to the nearest place. This place is in a cute location with lots of people-watching but is not one to visit by choice. While I was appreciative of the closely-monitored glass of white wine (served in a champagne flute), the tech was quick to advise owner allows only one. She walks around constantly overseeing the techs and is quick to reinforce mask usage. I’m vaccinated and also want to feel comfortable and pampered at a salon. I was charged more than what is advertised via the website but still tipped 40%. It’s flighty and not as indulgent an experience as should be a nail salon. Won’t be returning but “Kay” did a good job with my nails. Did I file when I got home? Yes. Eh. The search continues. Service: Acrylic nails
Mattie Curry
Mattie Curry: Good for pedicures, not for acrylics/manicures/nail art. Went in with a picture of exactly what I wanted (a basic, thin, black French tip), and got uneven, thick lines that went halfway down from the nail tip. My nails aren’t even properly glued to the acrylics! I can see the space between my real nail and the acrylic. Had to get them repainted at another salon, and I can’t wait to get the set replaced. It makes me sad, because i had great pedicure experiences here. Service: Acrylic nails
NIKKI HARRIS
NIKKI HARRIS: Need to listen to customer requests and do exactly what that is. When you charge extra for callous remover there should be no callous when the pedicure is complete. Eye lash service should be done without getting glue into the customer eyes. Lashes had glue all over them making it unable to brush and clean the lashes properly during face washing routine. The lashes were stiff from the glue. Overall spent money on services that I was not completely satisfied with. Services: Dip powder , Pedicures , Eyelash extensions
Megha Fernandes
Megha Fernandes: I love this place!! Everyone is great but Nhi is my go to! VERY clean, great atmosphere, and thorough. I recommend this place to everyone!
Monty Edwards
Monty Edwards: Service horrible they work horrible they patronize well you’ll know didn’t ask me the black lady if she wanted something to drink but they asked everybody else though smh never again
Laurin Thompson
Laurin Thompson: Let me start off by saying I get my nails done almost religiously every two to three weeks. I know a good job when I see one. This place is rated an overall 4.5 stars and I don’t believe it deserves that high of a rating. I went in with a picture of what I was wanting and everything and nobody who helped me was able to give me what I wanted. Fair enough everyone was very polite, but being nice and friendly doesn’t equal a good job. I don’t think the nail techs are used to people being as watchful and maybe that’s why the stars are so high, but if you want really good quality nails done I’m sorry to say this is not the place for you and I just don’t recommend it.

Varnish Lane Mt. Vernon Triangle: what do users think?
Jazmynn Croskey
Jazmynn Croskey: Update to my previous review: The salon manager contacted me the next day to hear about my experience and courteously invited me back to have another tech redo my nails with any design of my choosing. They turned out amazing and I sincerely appreciate Varnish Lane making this right. Thank you for making a loyal customer feel valued! I will most definitely be back.
Darrah Joy Clay
Darrah Joy Clay: I live in the Navy Yard and was hopeful this new salon would be a great experience offering a calm and luxurious experience with a quality gel mani and pedi. Unfortunately the quality of their products is terrible. The average gel mani lasts one week at best. The services are upwards of $100 and do not last at all. I’ve been to the salon twice. My first experience someone came in with a similar complaint. My second experience I unfortunately was the person who returned with chipped nails - not just one but 5/10. I encourage anyone who is going for gel to look elsewhere and save your money. Other salons like NailSalon and Cosmopolitan have better longer lasting gel or SNS. It may be that the waterless feature doesn’t fully remove the oils from the body which reduces the effect of the gel. I’ve actually had regular polish last longer. Lastly the customer service is a 6/10 the team is cordial and responsive but not incredibly accommodating given the price and poor quality of their gel materials. They canceled my rescheduled appointment last minute and only offered to fix the damaged nails and not redo the manicure. That would have made it look worse. They weren’t concerned about the quality of the work but rather slapping more peeling gel on my nails. Save your time, your money and find another option. It should be called “Vanishing Lane” because the polish vanishes in days.
Stephanie Ferguson
Stephanie Ferguson: I really want to like Varnish Lane, but in my experience the salon is over priced and quality is lacking. When I received a gel manicure, it only lasted one week before it started chipping and peeling. Also, I came in for a gel mani/gel pedi. I asked if I could make it out at a certain time and was told no because there weren’t enough technicians, but that I could receive a simple manicure with no polish. I had two technicians servicing me but one technician left after my ‘fast lane’ manicure to join a second technician to service a client who came in after me. It seems that I could’ve received my polish and the tech could still service the other, later client once finished with my polish. In all, the ambiance is nice and the salon is clean, but the quality is subpar. Services: Gel manicure , Pedicures
Natia Zakradze
Natia Zakradze: My nails were done terribly. I did gel manicure and one pealed instantly at the same day. I asked to remove the cuticles- it was cut half way. They did repair three fingers but the other nail specialist was too rude… ok, good things - music is good, chairs are comfortable but which is the main thing for nail bar- PROFESSIONALISM, in my case below zero… first and last time there…
Hayley Andrews
Hayley Andrews: Terrible customer service. We called in advance to say we were arriving 10 minutes late and they said it wasn’t a problem. When we arrived, we were told we were only getting a 5 minute manicure due to another appointment and that we had to pay full price and we had no option to cancel. I cannot believe I just paid $28 for a regular 5 min manicure because I arrived 10 minutes late. Super inflexible policy - the worst nail salon I’ve ever visited and the manicure will definitely not last more than a day. We will never be coming back. Service: Manicures
Stacey Maresco
Stacey Maresco: I’ve been here twice in the last 12 months and had a reasonably good experience both times. The nail techs did fine, but they don’t use water which makes the pedicure experience less enjoyable.
Evan Phinney
Evan Phinney: I visited the Varnish Lane Mt. Vernon location the day it opened! Two weeks later and my gel manicure is still going strong! I walked into an amazingly clean and calming atmosphere with the most beautiful wall of nail polish options I’ve ever seen! I was offered a complementary drink and could wait in one of their comfy chairs due to there being space. I had seen a nail design on their Instagram page that I showed my stylist, and she was more than willing to recreate It with the colours I chose! She even improvised for one nail that wasn’t shown in the picture and It looked amazing. My only hesitation is when I go for my next manicure I will be charged to remove gel the polish. Though their base prices are on the higher side, It is worth It for the cleanliness, care and quality of their services! Already booked my next appointment to try their pedicures out!

Q-West Nails: what do users think?
Frank Rettig
Frank Rettig: I went on 1/14/2018 to get my normal pedicure, and like always, I’m asked if I want the Spa treatment, and I always say no. When I went to pay, I was told it was $33, and I asked when the price went up from $28? I’d only been there 4 weeks before, so was curious. The employee said I had my nails buffed. I stated that it was always included for $28. She back tracked her words a couple of times, and said I was right. I could see that she was trying to charge more. Needless to say, no tip, and I won’t go back. I was not happy about the lying. Not a good way to deal with a customer of many years.
Mark Bloomfield
Mark Bloomfield: This place is awesome. I’ve been going to mail places for decades ( I am very old ); I have seen a lot ; this is the best place I’ve ever been to. Everyone here so polite so customer oriented; so dedicated to their profession ; it’s the best manicure and pedicure I’ve ever had. I’m a regular and feel so good after I’ve been . For the life of me I can’t understand why anybody would think otherwise.
Lucy Jones
Lucy Jones: Q-West recently changed hands after a long time with same owners. I’ll admit that The transition was a bit bumpy at first but they have now hit their stride. It’s a welcoming place and I’ve only always gotten good service. I always recommend it to my friends. A good steady place in the neighborhood.
Guy Dupont
Guy Dupont: I live in the neighborhood and made the mistake of getting a 60 minute massage here. I called earlier in the day and scheduled the appointment for later that afternoon. When I arrived at my scheduled time, the greeter (who appeared to be around 15 years old) informed me that the massage therapist was giving someone else a massage. Apparently she messed up the scheduling but did not have the courtesy to explain or apologize. Despite this, I waited for 20 minutes and then had one of the worst massages ever. The doughnut hole on the massage table was not at all comfortable. The actual massage was not pleasant... at one point after she kept massaging my ears (which I did not particularly like) I asked her to please work on the back. I will not be returning here.
Kristen Sam
Kristen Sam: I did get arcrylic with Chromes gel here last week, she did carefully job! And they looked cool, highly recommended, I don’t understand why somebody wrote crazy comments....the manager and employees are very friendly

LUNA Nails & Spa: what do users think?
lisa pierre
lisa pierre: This nail salon does a nice job, I do applaud them for doing great nails. When I got there, it was at the end of closing. I arrived at 6:30pm and didn’t leave until 9:00pm they close at 8pm. The nail tech offered a new nail style called square up nail!! I love what the Nail tech did her name is Ellie. So the cost of this place (wiped forehead) they charge a lot and do not have detail of pricing. They charged $25 for gel plus the $40 regular for pedicure and $65 for the square up nail plus $10 for design. My nails turn out nice just wasn’t to happy about the price and they have nothing to show for it, to verify the cost. Overall great place massage chairs are amazing by the way😊
Brooke Cramberg
Brooke Cramberg: Elly was the best!!! Excellent shaping and attention to detail to make sure everything was even, steady hand on the detailed design, and checked in to make sure everything was coming together how I’d hoped several times in the process. Will absolutely be back!! Tip: they do get busy on Friday evenings so get in early or prepare to wait (even with a call in advance). I didn’t have to wait at 4:30 with a call, but saw many who had to wait a bit when I was in the chair.
Tris Verse
Tris Verse: My nail tech couldn’t fit me in yesterday and I’m so glad they couldn’t because I’m happy to have found this place. They have exceptional customer service & pay attention to their customer’s needs. I felt welcomed there. My nails have been done so well. I’ll be back.Services: Dip powder, Pedicures
Sharmeica Clark
Sharmeica Clark: Rick did a great job on my nails he just failed to give me the same service he offered every other customer like washing my hands or giving me a complete manicure before doin my nails REASON that’s what I asked for and I use no acrylic or false nails. U can’t catch every dollar & still give Great Service. Still looking for a shop home with both great service & great customer service Since That’s what I willing to pay for. Service: Dip powder
kendalll
kendalll: rick did my nails so good ! if you want your nails done i definitely suggest coming here they can do any style and the staff is super friendly !Service: Acrylic nails
Oyinade Adebayo
Oyinade Adebayo: If you respect yourself and your money and your time, don’t come here. I’ve never had such a bad experience at a nail salon in my life. The nail tech could not follow the simplest instructions and could not follow the picture shown to him, Which was a simple nude nail. My color is terribly off and the almond nail shape is atrocious. I wish I was exaggerating how terrible my nails look. I’m not even one to leave reviews but this has to be said. If I could get my money back I would. You’re better off going elsewhere because I promise you will not be satisfied. 0/10, not even exaggerating. Imagine a nail tech telling you that he knew exactly how to do the nails you were asking for and by the end of the service it is obvious he was lying. Insane. Very bad experience. Service: Dip powder
Melissa Boyer-Sylvestre
Melissa Boyer-Sylvestre: I had a gel manicure and the Spring/Summer package for my pedicure (I don’t remember what the package was called on the menu.) I had many problems. The same tech did both my services. She cut my cuticles down so low on both hands and feet that she made me bleed and had to use this blue liquid to make it stop. During my manicure they opened a new jar of the gel black and my nails look TERRIBLE after a week. Bubbling, chipped, warped. Awful. I was also charged $15 more than what the menu said. The lady tried to tell me it was because I got gel but I asked for gels before I started my services and she never said anything about upcharge until I was told I owed her $15 more after I tried to hand her cash. The menu did not list the higher prices for the services rendered and gel was included in both services. I called the next day and the lady got VERY loud with me and told me I would have to come back in and they wouldn’t give me any money back or redo the services. I wouldn’t recommend this salon to anyone. I will never go here again. Services: Manicures , Gel manicure , Foot massage , Pedicures
Anna Card
Anna Card: I’ve had great experiences at this salon previously, so was disappointed to have such a bad experience today! Won’t be going back. I told the manicurist repeatedly during my appointment that the dip color was wrong and I didn’t want it. He kept assuring me he would fix it at the end, and asked me to stop telling him because it was busy. At the the end of my appointment, when I explained it was the wrong color and needed to be fixed, he told the other manicurist that I had never told him anything was wrong. And that since I never told him, they couldn’t fix it because they were too busy. I understand things get busy, but there was no excuse to do something so odd and dishonest. So take that one experience with a grain of salt, as everyone else has been wonderful in the past. But this very weird and disappointing experience ruined an otherwise great salon for me. Service: Dip powder

Renee Brown: Great friendly atmosphere and awesome customer service. I got a pedicure and THU did a wonderful job in taking care of my pedicure. Very clean work place and I like the way they are protective in assuring that only customers use the restroom in the work place. That alleviate traffic in and out the business, especially during Covid. I will definitely be back again. Services: Foot massage , Waxing , Pedicures , Back massage

Catie Seltz-Drew
Catie Seltz-Drew: I went in to have my gel nails removed and this is what they gave me. They don’t soak gels off, they use a file (I guess it’s quicker that way?) but it’s also not good for your nails. Bad service, poor quality.
Response: Hi Cate, Our sincere apologies for the poor quality work. We will make sure to relay this feedback back to the nail technician that did your nails and will make sure that she gets better trainings for future services. We appreciate your feedback for this will help us train our staff better, for quality assurance. Thank you.

Gloss Bar: what do users think?
Isabel Werman
Isabel Werman: Very soothing, calm, and aesthetically pleasing nail salon. 5 stars for the salon AND for Henry, who gave me a gorgeous manicure and had a wonderful sense of humor. Will be coming back!Service: Dip powder
K Parker
K Parker: I have been coming to Gloss Nails since mid 2020. The reason that this is important is that I am in healthcare and was in need of a nail salon that offered high quality services in an environment that has strict safety standards. A work colleague recommended the salon and I will never go anywhere else. I have SNS dip services (3 weeks, never a single chip, just standard growth) along with manicure and classic or deluxe pedicures depending on need. Tyson is my technician and he is WONDERFUL. People compliment me on his work all of the time. The staff is friendly and accommodating, in fact they even call sometimes to recommend quieter days because they know I prefer a quieter space. It’s lovely. I always feel pampered when I leave! Services: Manicures , Pedicures , Dip powder
Cassidy Chassagne
Cassidy Chassagne: short: long time customer that was very disrespected by staff and received sloppy work. I will be finding a new nail salon. If you do go, make sure you get Vi or Tyson! They are the best techs and are extremely kind. Tyson is who ended up resolving my issue below. I used to love this nail salon and have come once every 2-3 for over 6 months but they recently really disappointed me. I asked for a light blue color in sns and asked for them to help me find it, the technician picked the wrong color and it turned out to be an almost black color. They asked if it’s okay that it was so different from what I wanted and I asked them if they could change it to more closely match my original request. They ended up painting over the sns with a closer color in gel. It was a very sloppy fix where you could see the old color underneath. After 3 days, the gel started peeling off my sns nails. I called and was assured they could redo it but when I came in, they first told me that they would never do something so sloppy and I must have gotten this somewhere else and then they told me I asked for gel on top of black sns and tried to make me feel bad. Rather than trying to fix it, they were going to just paint the gel over the sns again. The technician was so so rude to me and blamed me for her mistakes. I eventually got my nails redone by another technician and they were extremely smudged and the top coat was uneven. Sad to say I will not be returning.
Response: Cassidy, I’m so terribly about your last visit at our salon. This really saddens me personally (vi) to lose you as a client! You were always so sweet and fun to chat with. We will address this issue with our team immediately to prevent future mishaps. Please allow me the chance to make this right. Whenever you can, please DM our Instagram @glossbardc , and I (vi) will do whatever it takes to make this right again. Hope to hear from you soon.
Hannah Lacorte
Hannah Lacorte: I’ve been to several nail salons in the area and they’re easily the best nail salon in DC!!!! They are so so lovely and do an amazing job!! Check out their instagram, they’re literally artists! The nail art is amazing!! I always have a fabulous experience when I go in. 10/10 would recommend! Flawless dip application too!Services: Manicures, Pedicures, Dip powder
Phung Phan
Phung Phan: Positive: Cleanliness, ProfessionalismI am very picky when it comes to getting my nails done but my nail tech Bella was absolutely amazing. She was very sweet and did exactly what I wanted. It’s been over 3 weeks with SNS and no chipping, nothing ! The salon is very clean and everyone was so friendly. Definitely coming back !!
Dani Meyer
Dani Meyer: Positive: Professionalism, Quality, Valuei’m obsessed!! jennifer did my nails and they look SO GOOD!!! very professional and everyone who works here is super nice. the quality of my dip is super good. definitely going back!Service: Dip powder
Brieon Davis
Brieon Davis: This was an amazing experience for me!! I was visiting DC for the first time and due for major pampering. I chose gloss bar because it was next to the hotel I stayed in. The gentleman performed my services and I was in true bliss! If you are Ever in the DC AREA and want an amazing pampering experience choose GlOSS BAR!!Services: Manicures, Foot massage, Dip powder
Shantae Davis
Shantae Davis: I went to gloss bar on Nov 11, 2021 for my third experience and last experience. The first experience was in September as my regular nail tech had major surgery. The first time I came I was told another individual would perform my pedicure, I declined and asked if the same technician could work on my toes. Apparently Bella was upset because I wanted three coats of OPI nail polish that I brought instead of 2. My next visit I was serviced by Emma who complained because I wanted three coats as well. I realized during my visit the technicians treated the black customers differently than the white ones. Both visits white women were offered complimentary drinks and not once was I or another woman of color was offered anything. I attempted to make another appointment because my original technician is still recovering and was told I am blocked because it takes two hours to complete my service, they are commission based and unable to service me. The irony behind this statement makes me wonder why. I am paying for a service, and because my expectation is to receive what I’m paying for it is frowned upon. Not once did I see or hear the technicians speak in their native language when a white woman asked them to fix her nail but it’s a huge Hangup when a black one does? As I thought my mind was playing tricks on me I turned on my translator the last visit and the words popped up as to what they were saying about me. In this review, why would I return—because it’s in walking distance of my home. I am not upset of the block, I hope in reading this the management takes into respect you are centered in a well diverse neighborhood and you should treat all with the same respect and courtesy. Also when paying for a service, you expect it to be done correct and without needing any suggestions. Services: Manicures , Pedicures
Response: Hi Shantae, thank you for taking the time to leave this review, this gives us an opportunity to once again explain to you why we can no longer take you as a client at our Salons. Your appointment history showed that you visited our salon 4 times before, 9/13 and 9/27 with Bella, 10/12 and 11/09 with Elaine, all 4 appointments were booked for Regular Polish Mani Pedi which at our salon we allocate 1 hour to 1 hour 15 mins maximum. All 4 times your appointments took at least 2 hours and our technicians brought it to our attention that you insisted to get the actually skin (not cuticles) remove from the surrounding area of your nails and they were very uncomfortable doing so. Your last appointment with Elaine started at 6:00pm and was not able to finish until after 8:00 pm, this blocked her from being able to take another client at 7:15 which was a loss for both Elaine and our business. Nail techs (same as along with hairstylists) work on commission base and gratuity and are not paid hourly, therefore if a service is taking twice as long to perform than they are losing out on another client. Both technicians who have worked on you twice before have requested to no longer have you schedule with them and we can not force our techs to work on a client if they have refused to, we have to respect their rights to refuse service. As for your claim against our business being discriminate, we are very offended by your claim, as a minority woman owned business, we take great pride in our work ethics and treat everyone with respect regardless of race, gender, religion...etc... Also, due to COVID precautions we have not offered any complementary drinks since our initial opening in 2020. We suggest you continue to go to your Regular technician at your usual salon, we can no longer take you as a client at our salons. Best of luck.
Shazia Samanani
Shazia Samanani: I have been going to glossbar for almost a year now every few weeks. They are exceptional! I have probably been to over half their staff and they are all talented, pay attention to detail and great to work with. Everything from their basic manicures to their nail art has been to a really high standard. I’m so glad I found them and will be coming back for years to come. If you haven’t already tried them out, definitely do it they won’t disappoint. Services: Manicures , Pedicures , Gel manicure

Pen Nails & Spa: what do users think?
Joshua Wiley
Joshua Wiley: This has became my new go to spot for nails. Good price and great service. I don’t remember their names but there are two ladies in here they do outstanding nails.
Tom Koch
Tom Koch: Walked in and they put is in chairs immediately. Got a couple of glasses of wine and relaxed. Very nice folks
Levita Mondie
Levita Mondie: This is home to me! I have been going here regularly for a couple of years now for pedicures plus foot massages. The technicians are friendly and love what they do. Customers are offered free water, wine, and delicious Vietnamese coffee, which is my favorite. On those rare occasions when there is a wait, I chose to wait!
Charlene Pierce
Charlene Pierce: My regular technician, Annie, was off the day I visited. I did not like the pedicure, so I did not get a manicure, even though, I needed one. She did not perform the service with the same care or attention as Annie does. Are all of the technicians licensed? The service she performed had me wondering if she was licensed. I will definitely go back, but only let Annie do my manicure and pedicure.
Shanelle Oliver
Shanelle Oliver: I usually go to Pen Nails and Spa on Pennsylvania Ave in Eastern Market and I love them. Never had any issues, love that they give a free drink (even wine) during service, and always get a good mani/pedi at a good price. However, I would NOT recommend them during the pandemic. Sure, they have plastic shields placed, but they are still seating every seat/station so there isn’t 6 ft between you and the other person next to you getting nails done; when my pedicure was done, they just literally wiped out the water basin - no spray, no sanitizer, no deep clean! They didn’t even spray the chair I was sitting in where I touched multiple times or the massager remote... which probably means they didn’t spray it after the person before me! 😖 also, while I was drying and the nail technicians were just hanging out in their stations they took their masks off - even though we were still inside, even though customers were still present, even though they weren’t in a back room or area they couldn’t be seen. I normally love them, but won’t be visiting there again.
James Brown
James Brown: They do GREAT work and offer you drinks. They have massage chairs which I love
Rachel Vannice
Rachel Vannice: Great place on the Hill with wine and very nice staff. It can get busy, but they always keep things moving while still taking care for each individual. They also actually listen to any preferences as opposed to just doing the same thing w/ every client. They take walk-ins, but are usually quicker when you make an appt.

Modern Nail Bar- Mt. Vernon: what do users think?
Rebecca von dem Hagen
Rebecca von dem Hagen: For $57, you get a polish change that does not include a “manicure”. I got my nails done (dip) 2 days ago and they’re already grown out because they didn’t cut my cuticles. I called and confirmed that it was not a mistake. This has been my go to spot since they opened but I will not be going back.
Kaelah Horwath
Kaelah Horwath: I will never be back. First, I had an appointment which I was 10 minutes early for, and they took 2 walk ins in that time before me and I had to wait. Then, Tracy cut the corner of my big toe. It was bleeding and she just kept trying to cut off the skin. Then sprayed alcohol directly on it and tried to say I already had a cut on my toe. I was supposed to get a full set. I asked for coffin, and Tracy said no almond will look better. Ok fine so I get almond. They were all completely crooked, and uneven not symmetrical. I tried to say this and asked for her to fix them. She got mad and said I’m wasting her time. Another worker came over and said yes they are crooked fix it. After fixing all of the crooked ones they did not match each other and looked like stiletto, super pointy and thin. I said this is not almond I don’t want this. She said I will have to pay to have them taken off. She starts cutting them violently and hurting my fingers. Services: Pedicures , Gel manicure , Manicures , Acrylic nails
Mariona Franklin
Mariona Franklin: Seems like a really nice place, so I booked over a week ahead for a full set acrylics and a pedicure. Got there to find a line of 3 other people waiting for a nail tech (at least one of them also had an appointment) and all of the 8 employees were already busy taking care of customers and estimated at least a 30 minute wait… I asked if they would make an exception and cancel my appointment so I could go elsewhere and they agreed. Seems like they do great work, but don’t count on actually getting your nails done even if you have an appointment.
Sabrina Farmer
Sabrina Farmer: I had an absolutely lovely experience! I booked through ClassPass and everyone was super nice. My gel pedicure looks great.
Nina Feldman
Nina Feldman: Such a nice experience! I only had a short time available to get a quick manicure and they were able to accomodate so quickly. Service was efficient, considerate, and well-done. Really nice atmosphere and aesthetic as well!Service: Manicures
Sara Clark
Sara Clark: Esthetics is on point. I think this shop mainly paints a color designs are not done well here. Go for a nice pedicure and simple manicure but do noy expect skills.
Fanise Cannon
Fanise Cannon: My go to nail place in MTVN triangle! Love how they do my nails! Only downside is that you will usually end up spending a couple hours in there but can’t complain when my nails come out looking so good! Great salon!
Teresa Jones
Teresa Jones: This is my go to place. Everyone is extremely friendly.Price is fair and the people working there are very sweet. They were so good with my kiddos as well. Thank you!!Services: Pedicures, Manicures
Jayde Lyon
Jayde Lyon: Never going back to this establishment again. Only two of the technicians actually know how to do nails there, which is fine. However, when I booked an appointment with a specific technician, they did not honor it. I arrived a few minutes early, and she was just beginning a new client, but they did nothing to honor my appointment. Instead they tried to have someone else do my nails that messed my nails up prior. Never returning to this terrible nail bar.
Leesa Garcia (Leesa)
Leesa Garcia (Leesa): Critical: Professionalism, PunctualityExtremely beautiful nail salon! Be prepared to wait longer than average times. Staff is lacks in communication and standard customer service. Thus, if you are here for ambiance—look no further. If you are looking for quality and a luxury experience—keep looking. The space unfortunately does not make up for the latter.Services: Pedicures, Gel manicure, Manicures, Acrylic nails

Happy Nails and Day Spa: what do users think?
Carley Lester
Carley Lester: This place is THE BEST in the neighborhood. I have lived in the area for years and there are LITERALLY 4 nail salons within a block and a half. This place is the BEST of all of them and in the DMV IMO. They have a week guarentee on Gel, Dip and Shelac.
Katie
Katie: Terrible experience. “Eyebrow wax” is sitting in a nail chair in the middle of the salon and uncomfortably leaning your neck back while she tries to wax and pluck your eyebrow while standing up facing you. $12 for a terrible job.
Mary Martin
Mary Martin: RUSHED!!! Nails not filed! Gel polish not all removed. How do I know? I did not get new polish and it was visible. Thought I had found a gem?!? Nope!
