M B (M B): Had a great experience here! I went to one of their Saturday bike sales and was able to find a nice bike with the help of the staff! They also have a shop that you can go to for bike maintenance and to learn skills from the staff. Would recommend to anyone looking for a good bike in DC.
Brandon Sousa: Really happy with my experience here. I had a flat and they addressed it immediately, I was back on the road in 5 minutes. Reasonable prices, I think I paid $40 total for the tube, the tube change, and a new tougher tire, hopefully keeping the bits and bobs out of my ride.
Grant Sexton: Had several things fixed on my old Schwinn Traveler. The price for repair was great, and the customer service was as well. They gave me a very down to earth explanation of some of the problems on my bike too, which I appreciated because I often have trouble tracking with “bike guys.”

Emmalynn “Big Gurl Lady E” Sharf: For starters I wish I could give zero stars. I came back a week later to find out the refund from a bike I was interested in and put money down that Contes never refunded the money. Then in turn which meant I had to travel back to their store to see what was going on. Now the second time finally I got my refund. Then I went got my son a little bike as pictured below and I wanted to see how much it would cost for assemble the clerk labeled the bike as child single speed which is not correct and wanted to charge 3x times the amount then the bike being worth which is $26.99. For a parent to get this bike and then to take advantage of a women or a mother like that as a single parent is crazy when the clerks knew it would not take long to assemble. Look at google and you will see what a single speed children bike will look like. This bike below does not look like a single speed kind of bike at all. Never again shopping with or at Contes.

Jeremiah Johnson: My bike is literally better after having had it serviced in Cathedral Heights Conte than when I got it directly from the factory. The store manager and Noah were extremely helpful and patient. They are customer service centered bike experts.

Bryan Underwood: I returned from a 2 year stint overseas in which my bike sat unused in my friends outdoor shed. Conte's was quick and efficient in scheduling annual service, it was less expensive than other shops, they gave solid and necessary recommendations, and did not suggest things I did not need at thee time (note: my brakes may sound squeaky but they do not need changed for a year). I had my bike back with a week turnaround-much faster than all the other shops I contacted. Excellent service! A great neighborhood bike shop!
dagboh: I had a sub-par experience at this shop when trying to get my bike assembled. I was told on two different occasions that it was ready. When I showed up the first time, my bike wasn’t assembled, and when I showed up the second time, they assembled someone else’s bike instead of mine. Beyond that, when I visited, it seemed like I was burdening the staff. Nobody came and asked me what I needed until I approached them, but they seemed fine approaching other customers. When I called about when my bike would be assembled, the person who I talked to (I think his name was Wayne?) seemed quick to silence me with an answer, which ended up being wrong. I enjoyed the service from the Conte’s Bike Shop in Navy Yard more. The person there was quick to help me fix the flat I had on my old bike and even did it the same day right as the shop was closing at 6pm. He was a friendly person (young Black male with glasses) who gave me some tips on how to maintain my bike, and even fixed the tension on my chain for free. I thought this service would be the same at the Conte’s Bike Shop on Wisconsin which I why I went there to get my new bike assembled. It seems I was wrong. When it comes to the labor, the bike was well-assembled and they installed the custom parts I ordered with the bike, which is why I’m still giving a 3-star review. They didn’t install the reflectors on my bicycle though, which is concerning. Edit: Not only did the aforementioned happen, but the pedal on the bike came undone on my first long ride! Was clearly because it wasn’t tightened enough... now the insides are stripped. Come on.
Hem Nelson: I've taken my bike to be serviced there twice. Nice staff, and efficient service. Much better (and quicker) experience than I had with a couple other local bike shops.

Sam Brecker: I came in for a lifetime warranty claim and it was handled flawlessly. They were super responsive by phone and email. Dropped it, they took a quick look, and corporate responded within a day. Only took about 3 weeks to get the replacement back and team handled all my accoutrement properly and answered all my questions. Trek remains to be a good brand for me!
Landis Rojas: Excellent place to buy bike, maintenance, helmets and more accessories. So many options to choose from, from children's to adults, if they don't have any choice, they can find for you a close location. I bought mi bike here. Good prices, nice place, I really recommended.

mark Minich: had a great experience dealing with Adam Fulcher at Trek Georgetown store. Adam was friendly, knowledgeable and very efficient with my time. I was able to purchase two bikes and arrange to have them shipped to me all in the course of one phone call. I highly recommend Adam and the Trek GT store for meeting your cycling needs.

Alex Martin: Leave it up to the wonderful people of Washington DC to complain about “rude” behavior. Maybe like one dude in the back was a douche but at least he was an honest douche. If you appreciate radical honesty then this place is worth a visit. Also Justin new kid training had great insight to give when it came to my curiosity about fixed bikes. Last but not least the owner made absolute sure my bike fit my body size, far more than the competition ever did. Will send people to this location for sure.
Louise Pocock: I’ll preface by saying I’m not a bike head but went to this shop in my neighborhood after moving to DC because I wanted to make biking my primary mode of transport. These guys spent hours listening to what kind of bike I wanted and how I planned to used it and explained all my options and answered all my questions patiently and thoroughly. I not only bought a bike but learned a lot about bikes and how to take care of them. They got me set up with all the practical locks/lights/fenders etc for a very reasonable price. When I wrecked they fixed it right away and for free (no replacement part needed, just my fenders reattached). I have been back several times for other little things and they always help me right away and keep me riding. I love my bike shop!

Mike Carr: Many bike shops are plagued with pretentious staff. This is NOT the case at Bicycle Space. The employees are all super friendly and helpful. As an added bonus their location in Ivy City is easy to get to from most parts of DC and there is almost always easy parking right out front. This shop also sponsors many fun bicycle events in the area, such as the Saturday Cupcake Ramble lead by Lionel!
Patrick Macy: Unmatched Integrity. I have been searching high and low for a touring bike. I have been to many bike shops in Maryland and DC which pushed me to buy gravel bikes that didn't fit either me or my budget. Rob pointed me to the Surly Disk Trucker. But, they only had 2. One was a tad too small, the other was a tad too big. He said I wouldn't be happy with either and recommended I keep looking. Knowing the exact right size to look for I called all over the DMV and fond one. I bought it from that other store. But THIS is my new bike store. They have a customer for life because of the bike they did not sell me. Integrity matters. Thank you.
Jessica Long: I was in the market for a new bike for commuting and racing as I start to get into triathlon training. The staff there was very engaging, kind, and knowledgeable. Definitely recommend it!
Julia Lo: As others have mentioned, slow service and poor communication. I came in for a quick/on-the-spot repair but halfway through the repair the bolt on my front derailleur broke off. I was told that the mechanic would take a look at it the following week to see if he could get the bolt off, or if we had to order a replacement. I checked in periodically and was often told that they would get to my bike and provide an update "later today" and "tomorrow". Long story short, my bike was at the shop a little over 3 weeks. I would have appreciated an honest and realistic time estimate from the beginning. My brakes, which were replaced during the visit, were also squeaky when It came back to me. I would return to the shop only to have the squeaking return after after a day or so. The mechanic often talked trash about REI, but in my opinion they have not proven to be any better.
Nick Webster: BicyleSPACE is a wonderful, friendly, downtown bike shop. I stopped in to look around and a knowledgeable staff member took the time to show me around in a no pressure manner. When I am in the market for a new set of wheels, I will be in.
Lee Jahnke: BikeSpace DC used to be my go-to Bike Shop. These guys worked with you and offered options to fix things. Their repair times were honest. But in the last few months, these guys have cut corners as they deal with being overwhelmed from the pandemic. I've gone by the shop for parts or quick fixes and been told flat out "No". As in "No, we can't repair anything right now". and "No, we don't think you should install that part." This attitude isn't so much "Hey, we know better." but "We just don't have the time for you. Essential repairs only" So, save your time and money from trudging out to their remote location and go to a bike shop closer in.
Response: Hi Lee- Sorry we weren't able to help you with the part you were looking for yesterday, but as discussed, we'd have to see the bike (in this case wheel) you were attempting to get the part for in order to match the compatibility as there are multiple configurations that can't be freely swapped out. Also, as discussed, we rarely stock & frequently remove the part you were inquiring about from customer's bikes as it can lead to more problems than it solves if the bike is properly adjusted. You were also referred to another potential source for the item- hope you were able to find it or feel free to come by w/the bike/wheel & we can see whether we have exactly what you need or are able to order it for you, which can also be a challenge (along w/many other things) in these covid times. Marc Pulliam: Not sure how they have 4 stars. These guys are very unprofessional. No type of customer service I call and ask if they sold bike pedals the response was were a. Bike shop how rude. Ordered a bike and had it shipped to be assembled which should had only taken a minimum of two days. My bike has been there over a week and all they can tell me is that they are backed up because there mechanic was tboned. They said they would follow up but I have not received any follow ups. At this point it will be faster to cancel my purchase and have a bike shipped to a different shop. No focus on customer service here don’t say you wasn’t warned
healthy healing: They took us right away we came in with two bikes. The rechained my daughter's bike. Checked my inner tube. Gave us an estimate if we need an innertube in the future. Sent us on our way. Welcoming, reasonable, angriest service. Highly recommend these guys!

thomas braden: Update to my original review. Returned today as my son’s bike had a flat tire and needed a new brake handle. 30 minutes in and out - on a Saturday nonetheless! All for about $60 - a wonderful organization and team running this coop!! Every neighborhood should be so fortunate!! ————— Great people - great place - best free advise I've received in years! Stopped in today to get my son's bike fixed. He only just recently told me, "Dad, I love the bike, but the brakes don't really work and well, neither do the gear shifters!?!" (WTH??) Mike at the Bike Coop told me it's be more money than the bike is worth to repair it, he said go to Target and return it - it's not right and its just not safe! So I did, even though it was more than 90 days since I bought it, and amazingly Target gave me a full refund, no complaints or questions asked. I wouldn't have done this without your advise - thanks for keeping me from throwing my good money after bad! You guys rock!

USofC at: Great for home mechanics in need of older parts or tools. I love coming here for odds and ends. If you know what your looking for, there's a great chance you'll something at a very reasonable price. I recently came in with a VooDoo frameset and was able to buy and install and headset, bottom bracket and a few other bits. I got a terrific deal on some cranks along with cables/housing. I was able get most of the tricky install stuff done in the shop under an hour. They have all the tools for bottombrackets, brakes, etc. I've even laced up hand-built wheels and finished tensioning them up here with their tools (15$/hour or visit which is a bargain for having full access to so many tools) The staff are knowledgable and enthusiastic to walk you through a repair. Of course, it can get busy so dont go in on a warm, sunny Saturday and expect handholding. Love this place. Please be here forever.

M Alspaugh: I discovered this place about a year ago when I was looking for a bike that wouldn't break my bank account and 3 of the family members wanted bikes. I also later needed a reliable place to go to as I have absolutely no idea how to repair or maintenance bikes. The staff are good humored, reliable, and honest. Their repairs and advice, and overall, willingness to teach my 14 year old son how to repair his own bike ( and how to avoid breaking it more than necessary) is impressive. I have been exceedingly pleased with both their service and their products. I have gotten a (new) bike for my son as he managed to outgrow last year's bike and also break it permanently in the process. The bike he got was a considerable upgrade and is fantastic. I have never had the issues with the store like one of the reviews. They have always been open when the website says it is. A gem in our community. In a community where generally one throws things away rather than gets quality and repairs it, this store is truly important to support and value. Outstanding.
Chris Jones: This is a great bike shop - friendly, awesome prices, and a very knowledgeable staff. In my case, my bike has old, hard-to-adjust cantilever brakes. The mechanics were able to adjust them perfectly - something three other shops couldn't do - and they only charged me $15! They did it while I waited, so I had a chance to watch them interact with a bunch of customers. With each one they listened to what they wanted, did their best to find them the right bike or part, and tried to get them the best value possible. Just bear in mind that they only do used bikes and gear. It is a great place to get a practical commuter, Sunday cruiser, or cool retro ride, and is also a good source for used and tough-to-locate older parts. You aren't going to find a $5,000 carbon fiber racer, but there are plenty of other options in the area if that is what you're looking for.

dholmblad: Cannot recommend Bike Club enough. Had the derailleur hanger bend on a very sentimental 1990s carbon specialized. The owner was able to work his magic, replaced the derailleur and fixed the hanger. Before I walked out he made sure the shifting was smooth and dialed in. Thanks!
Chuck Baier: Bike Club is a one of a kind bike shop! It is a one man shop and you need to approach Phuoc, the owner, at the right time and in the right way to get positive results. If you rush in, start rapidly firing off questions, and making demands, Phuoc is likely to dismiss you and recommend you look elsewhere for needs, often rudely. However, if you stop in, sit down, and make some friendly small talk, then he will dig what you need out of his cavernous shop, fix you up, impart some insightful wisdom to you about human nature, elicit a few belly laughs, and get you back on your way. You will then have a friend who will remember you even when you come back 3 years later, as he did with me. If you’re bringing your bike in for service, the question is not whether Phuoc can fix it but if he wants to fix it. Therefore, don’t start off by telling him your opinion of the problem or how to fix it. God forbid, don’t start by arguing over 5 bucks based on your latest Google or Amazon search. Instead, just set back, ask for a beer while you wait, and let this Master perform his craft. And if you genuinely love bikes, don’t miss the opportunity to take the tour inside. Carefully navigate the pathways through the shop for a trip through the last 50 years of bicycle history. I’ve been in dozens of time and find something new to intrigue me each time. Bike Club is an absolutely unique Falls Church institution and Phuoc is indeed an endangered species. A trip to Bike Club is MUCH more genuine than the overpriced pro shops staffed with hipsters with a different sort of attitude. Good luck!! Pedal Power!!!
Alec Lee: Horrible owner with rude attitude, don’t even think going in there. You will be traumatized after visiting this place and experiencing customer service for a long time. The owner is simply crazy, start yelling and cursing after simple questions. I do NOT recommend this place to anyone!
Patrick N.: This is an old school bike shop, keep in mind, there is really no “customer service” you get to the shop, state what you want and proceed to either get your bike serviced or purchased. Pham goes out of his way to repair and sell these bikes, as strange as it sounds; he is NOT a salesman and doesn’t value taking too much time for window shoppers because he is a 1 man team mostly. So before you judge this shop like it’s a modernize shop with different department staffing and things like that; keep in consideration he’s doing well every thing he can effectively to run his own store, and he’s been in the business longer than you’ve prob been alive so he can tell a window shopper or someone who’s going to waste time off the bat.
Joseph (Joey): This is a very particular bicycle experience. This isn't your typical bike shop. The owner, Fuke, is an unusual, eccentric bike genius. His behavior won't appeal to everyone, however as an amateur vintage bike mechanic myself, Fuke is one on my heroes. He is an expert on all things bicycle. If you are looking for a specific, latest, greatest, bicycle, or for someone to size you to a bike, look elsewhere. Come to the bike club with some prior bike knowledge or at least a unique project request. If you are looking for a rare headset, vintage set of schwinn handlebars for a 50 year old bike, an expert calibration of ancient shimano derailleurs, or the fastest wheel-true you've ever seen, Fuke and Bike Club Bicycle are just the place for you. Also, teens, want to learn the ins and outs of bicycle repair? Fuke is willing to take hard working, serious apprentices for summer instruction. Fuke and the Bike Club are whats left of an old idea; that as a community we help each other achieve the American Dream. We need less corporate nonsense and more places like Bike Club Bicycle and more people like Fuke. Go check the place out. If you are passionate about bikes, you'll be enthralled.
Howard Stultz: I’m not sure how this guy stays in business. The first time I went there for a product he said he didn’t have any when I thought I saw what I needed on a shelf that would have been hard to reach. (One look inside the door and you clearly get the idea he’s a hoarder.). The second time I went there (on a Sunday) he was sitting outside talking to a potential customer. I waited until they were done because it was clear from looking at the doorway navigating the chaos would have been difficult. When it was my turn I told him I wanted to buy a bike. His reply was truly unusual (and rude). He said he didn’t have any bikes for sale and that they were closed... Huh? I get there’s a run on bikes these days, but you can look in the shop window and see he had some bike inventory. Needless to say, I’ll never go back and will spread the word about my experiences.
Ryan Healy: The guy who runs this place is awesome. Super compassionate and understanding of your circumstance and what your bike needs. This man has fixed my bike on the cheap multiple times. I mean I take my bike in there with all sorts of BS happening to it and he is back there for 10 minutes and rolls it out and it's like I just bought it. Alignment perfect. Brakes perfect. This man gave me handle bar grips for free off his parts cart. Cant say enough good things about this place. Best bicycle shop IN THE ENTIRE DC REGION
David Lotts: I like this little shop because of the variety of interesting stuff, some vintage bikes, kids bikes, and new bikes. The owner is very friendly and works hard. I've bought my last two bikes here. Both times I did not like exactly what I saw and they quickly customized it for me. Since I found this store I think of my bike as temporary. When I get tired of my bike, and it needs repairs and tune-up, I just go by and trade in for something else. I can do this because the prices are quite good compared to an full tune-up.
Ryan Springer: I've had nothing but excellent service! In the past 3 weeks I've had two bikes fixed, 2 bikes assembled, and sold a bike to the shop. All while sharing many a laugh with the owner and his team. Solid crew and now my go to team for all things bike related.
OneChance OneMistake: Store is very messy and cluttered with random things. Came to see a used bike that caught my eye before. It was in decent condition but dirty and the man wanted $250 for a bike that sells for $220 new. Told me he priced it high just because be assembled it, and is taking advantage of bikes being sold out everywhere during covid. Would not go here if youre looking for a bike. And the man smokes so much so bring a gas mask.
Response: Pretty sure he added disc brakes on it, thats been his thing lately. He has a knack for making bikes ride better. But yes th BC is not your average department store styled bike shop, some people likebthat. Ibprefwr an organis experiece, which is what you get at BC. its more like a museum. I enjoy the speediness, a couple hours at most unless you get there after 4, as opposed to the standar 2 week wait.

When I was shopping for an e-bike 2 and 1/2 years ago, I almost went the online route -- since there were/are cheaper, well-reviewed options out there. Fortunately, I realized I needed a reliable, local shop if I was going to sustain my move to bike commuting, beyond the purchase. For the past 2+ years -- even during the pandemic -- the staff at Griffin has supported me with tune-ups and tons of advice. Love walking in to that place. Great people.
Ben Landers: I bought a high-end road bike from Griffin, and I've also used them for service. My experience has been exceptional - both sales and service. Their employees are responsive and communicative. They follow up and follow through on promises made. Deadlines set have always been met. All of this is FAR above and beyond the "typical" local retail experience.

Nick Eddy: Went in for the 3rd or 4th time today, never had a bad experience. Reasonable prices, capable, helpful employees. I worked as a mechanic from 1986-1997 at 3 bike shops in Northern Virginia, one in DC, and 3 in Colorado, so I have a reasonably informed idea of what goes on in a bike shop. The gentleman below who felt insulted because he was told his bike wasn't worth working on needs to understand - cheap bikes use low-quality parts and are poorly assembled, first at the factory and then at the dealer/department store before you take possession. It's actually much harder to work on such bikes, and there's no guarantee that even a highly-experienced mechanic can produce a reliable adjustment that will last a reasonable amount of time. This may have been poorly-expressed to you, but I wouldn't call it an example of toxic bike culture.
Frank Pawlicki: the bike rental was handled very professionally. the bike was prepped with the proper SPD peddles when i arrived to pick the bike up, i was fitted, and given directions regarding local cycling routes. the bike performed well through out the week averaging 40 miles a day on the local ride routes. bike return was handled equally well. One issue that did come up was the lack of a flat kit with a pump or CO2 for refilling the flat tire, turns out it was a new employee education issue. it was a great experience.
Jacques Taty: Great staff.. highly knowledgeable, patient, friendly and extremely professional.I recommend them strongly. We are a biking family of 4 and Griffin is our one stop shop for everything bike related.

Abigail B.Y.: I bought a Retrospec bicycle online and had a hard time putting it together, I called the company, and they suggested that I take my bike to Phoenix bicycles for Assembly, glad I did! Drop off was easy. I got a text message when it was ready, and the gentleman who checked me out helped me load the bicycle to my car. He also made sure that the seat fit my liking and that I was pleased with the assembly. Before my visit, I had called the shop several times to reschedule my appointment, and in each call, they were gracious and kind to me. I took my bike on the road yesterday, and I have no complaints.

I've volunteered over the years but one guy, a paid employee seems to think I need to go thru orientation since the move, when usually do outside ride marshalling, mild pr referrals, etc. Bought part to self repair but they assume they will do it for you, not very empowering, and turn back/ walk off while you are attacked by gang, etc. Only one staff seems reasonable to me others attitude. Used to like ED when signed up but they claim everyone liked Jesse, which is probably statistically impossible, if safety rules etc are enforced and teens, antiauthoritrians, etc. Hosted Youth Bike Summit in Crystal City, with a maker space DIY table making inner tube bow ties, cut your own balaklava, hat , ear👂 muffs/ neck thingies, etc some sewing club helped finish (sewing is more skilled than most may think and not shared machines). Other fundraising maker stuff I've missed as was doing before they started, eg. MiniMakerFaire booth in Reston with NoVA-Labs.org... Some may think I helped suggest moving BarCroft to AMCC, but real suggestion was corner duplex house 🏠 with yard, which would have outside, take zoning change, etc more like Mt Rainier bike coop and not drip toxins on head start playground in green LEEDs like building with light industrial wastes... Didn't join the non profit board as would require firing some people more culture change than likely possible and some other things... Ymmv Added photo of pickup truck salvage/recycling and/or Grinch stealing people's bikes feet away from Phoenix's door at the corner of Columbia Pike at S. DinWiddie... I came today to get the bike serviced and their work and professionalism is great. They have the best prices for service in the DMV area. Their bikes go quick because they prices are so low. A good backup place to purchase would be Old Bike Shop in Arlington. I love that they teach kids to service and build bikes. It's a nonprofit and their mission work is amazing. I'm happy to support them always.

Ryan Hamilton: Absolutely excellent! My hybrid bike gearing got wrecked in a windstorm, so I needed a new rear derailleur, shifter, chain installation and all-around tune-up. After taking the bike to another mechanic in town who did a shoddy repair, I reached out to Omar, based on a recommendation from a good friend and mountain biking enthusiast. I ordered a few replacement parts on Amazon and scheduled service through the Nomad Bicycle Works website. Omar was super reliable, professional, friendly, trustworthy, and supportive and had a great passion for bikes. And very convenient. He came early to the job and got the entire job done while I drank my morning coffee. I was back up and rolling in about an hour, all before my morning meetings at work. When the job was done, Omar suggested I take a test ride and to push every gear of the bike pretty hard, just to test things out. The thing rode perfectly, even better than when the bike was originally built, and the gearing was flawlessly dialed-in. He also gave good recommendations for other upgrades and services I might consider in the future. I was so satisfied with the service, I gave him a tip. I look forward to getting ALL of my bikes serviced by this guy.

I purchased a new saddle, which was installed on the spot. Plus they gave me great tips on how to properly set the saddle. Great service and great experience!
Wesley Price: The staff at this store is extremely kind and knowledgeable. I was on the fence about which bike to select, so Kevin allowed me to test ride the bikes as much as I wanted in order to decide. The team even swapped the stock stem on one bike so I could test it out. Kevin made selecting new bikes fun and easy for both me and my wife. We will definitely be back in for service and accessories when the time comes!
Christine Fletcher: Every person I've worked with or even talked with there has been kind, friendly, knowledgeable, and (a rarity in a bike shop) not condescending about how embarrassingly little I know about the bike I ride all the time. Their techs (especially John) have gone the extra mile for me more than once. This is probably the fourth bike shop I've tried in the DC area over the last few years but I'm looking no longer. Dedicated and satisfied customer here!
Michael Salter: The Trek Clarendon service department always provides top notch professional service. They are tenacious to handle even the really tricky problems that involve troubleshooting older model bikes and they communicate clearly and openly throughout the entire process. Thomas Gelson: World-class service! I took my Trek 9.9 Speed Concept into Trek Clarendon for a major service overhaul. It has traveled all over the world with me in the past years as I am an avid triathlete. It needed some love after many miles of training and racing in all sorts of terrain & weather. An awesome bike, but quite involved with Di2 groupset, etc. John and his service team were top-notch in reviewing with me their recommendations of what had to be done. They then did the work in a meticulous and timely matter to make the bike look and feel brand new. Thus, resounding 5-stars and I highly recommend them.

Adrian Ferrufino: I started Cycling a little over a month ago, been to a handful of bike stores and this is by far the absolute best. Zero pressure to buy anything from anyone. They all just want to help you. Kevin has been a great help with tons of great Information as has Alex. Everyone there has outstanding customer service and they are always so welcoming and take the time to answer all of your questions no matter how simple they may be. Update June 2020- about 12 months since my first purchase from them. Well I wish I could re-rate this with 10 stars. A lot of places will be good to you when you buy something then forget about you, this is NOT one of them. No matter what I need or how many times I go in to annoy them with a questions everyone, and I mean everyone, is always so eager to help. They have helped friends of mine get bikes and their experience and comments back to me are never anything but positive. This is truly one of the best, if not the best bike store in this area. I live less than half a mile from another bike store and rather drive the 20 minutes (or ride) to come here and get what I need. Alex, Kevin, Jeff and anyone else you encounter in that store will do everything they can to help you with whatever you need. If you want a bike or need service or accessories I would not go anywhere else.

Michael Brown: As a company, REI should not inflict their political beliefs onto customers. That said, they carry good gear and this particular location is fantastic. Every time I have come here they have exactly what I need. The staff are friendly and helpful and generally knowledgeable. I don’t know who makes REI branded clothes and gear, but they do a good job.
Mike R: I like this store for so many reasons. First: they have excellent customer service. Today I walked in with my bike to get my flat tire fixed. A woman approached me and signed me in. Then a man walked up to me and asked if I would like to him to park my bike. I was appalled by this gesture. Second: This establishment has everything here. I mean like… leave that bike area if you want to. You will be buying anything from energy gel to underwear. Third: conveniently located right beside the metro.

Andrea Wu: I came here to pick up my shoes that I ordered online, and after trying them out in nature, they were too big so I came back to return and get new ones. The staff helping me was very helpful, bringing me different shoes for me to try on. I finally got a pair that fit properly, and checkout was pretty speedy too. Parking on the street might be a bit tough, but it's not too bad!
H Gill: Great store! love REI… but checking out here is always a 15 min wait. The checkout line moves at a snail’s pace, and the managers/supervisors don’t seem to care. I’ve seen customers put items down and leave out of frustration.
Rebecca Tolbert: Generally a good store, but the parking situation is currently very weird. You park in the parking deck and then have to walk all the way around a whole city block because they have blocked off the elevator and stairs. So, you drive into the parking deck and then have this surprise journey ahead of you, through a sketchy alley and everything. Just wanted to give other customers a heads up!
Ben Layton: Bike shop effectively closes at 6:30, not 7:00, since you have to get on a wait-list to get the bike checked in and the wait-list closes at 6:30. Called in advance and told them when I'd get there and they didn't mention that, so came all the way here for nothing. Turnaround on basic repairs also 9-10 days rn, which is honestly nuts.
R: Oddly enough they aren’t dog friendly yet I saw a pitbull walking around without a service vest. The area around is horrendous, good luck finding a parking spot. Really disappointed that REIs aren’t dog friendly yet their competitors REI and Bass Pro is.

James Gordon: I rented an electric bike today from Todd and his team...what a GREAT experience! Since this was my first time renting/riding an electric bike, Todd gave a thorough tutorial before sending me out. The bike was easy to ride and made the trip to DC easy with the pedal assist from the bike. Please note, this is a GREAT way to tour DC. I followed the Mt. Vernon Trail which took about 40 min. to get over to DC. The bike was easy to navigate through the streets as the city is VERY bike friendly. I spent about 5 hours site seeing as well as stopping by a couple brew houses (only tasted the beer with flights), then I headed back to the shop. I had time so I went the other direction on the Mt. Vernon Trail. Overall, this is probably one of the best things I have done in some time. Great experience and great customer service. Trust me, you won't be disappointed.

Nozipho Dube: Had a great 3 hour lesson with Chuck, Kristi, Allison, and Mike. The class size approx. 15 people at different level of skill. The instructors did a good job of splitting us up based on skill set and moving us up based on our progress. It was a great class.
Karen Brown: I had a horrible experience with WABA. It is not worth $85.00 to learn how to ride a bike. The instructors were very hands off and my husband had to assist my daughter in learning how to ride. Then the instructor tells us my daughter should come back and pay another $85.00. I was underwhelmed with what I saw. Additionally, I received a harassing email that was very inappropriate from Syndney Sotelo, WABA Director about my husband assisting my daughter when she was struggling in learning how to ride. Stay woke everyone $85.00 to be hands off is never acceptable. It’s a rip off.

Rylan Harris: For Years I have been taking my Kawasaki Vulcan 750 to get serviced and regular maintenance at the dealer, the last time out they failed in terms of time and work, I hear about Cycles from some friends and read reviews on line. I called Jeremy he walked me through their process and expected cost, when I met him he was hones, personable and identified the work the bike needed and other problem areas, I will continue to use this shop and refer them business in the future.
Raymond Bushby: Took my bike for break service An oil change also once over. They explained everything clearly to me gave me options on things that needed to be repaired prepared all in all a great experience they will definitely be my service shop of choice from now on
Jack Jensen: The folks here are great! Very experienced and knowledgeable and patient and professional. They've helped me get new tubes in my tires multiple times, and have given great advice for other bike maintenance issues that I've had over the years. They won't work on my bike directly: they focus on a narrow spectrum of brands and my bike ain't in it. I'd definitely shoot them an email to make sure they'd be comfortable working on your model of bike before you haul it over to them, but if it's in their wheelhouse you can be confident that they'll do an amazing job! Highly recommend!!
Matthew Gifford: I brought my bike in to have new tires put on. When they changed the tires, they called to tell me my oil--which I had changed a week earlier--was sludgy and needed to be changed, my clutch was exceptionally loose, and my chain was out of tension. I authorized the additional work. The tire service was great -- mounted and balanced and holding up great. The other work I have some reservations about. They did what they said they would--there were no surprises on the bill. But the oil change was unnecessary: the day old oil still looked 'sludgy' to Jeremy when we looked it over on pickup, which he says can happen when it's outside. Cleanup was a little sloppy (some oil spots on the bike), and the chain developed a lot of surface rust shortly after getting it back. The clutch I can only attribute to personal preference. After getting the bike home, I adjusted it back to where it was. Re: the chain - After posting this, Jeremy got in contact with me. They don't apply oil to the faceplates to prevent excess fling. Fair enough. I've always put a thin layer of oil on the outside and have never gotten rust, no matter how many streams I dunk it in. Maybe specifically ask for plate oil if you have chain work done here and dislike surface rust. I originally gave a lower rating, but after talking to the shop I think there were just some differences in preferences (chain oil, clutch feel), and maybe a bit of haste in the shop due to their current work load. They're really nice, approachable guys. They'll talk through issues with you. Their service explanations are clear.

Nathan M: I recently acquired a new to me 2003 Honda Shadow ACE edition. I needed to have it inspected for Maryland State Inspection in order to register it in Maryland. Jeremy made things easy and allowed me to wait on the inspection. They have experienced mechanics and are very thorough. They brought to my attention and made me aware of a few things that were going on with the bike that might need attention in the future. Highly recommend. I will be using them for repairs in the future.
Frank Borris: I had a great experience with COS. My bike is a Honda VTX 1300S and I was swapping tires and wheel bearings. In addition, I did some research on sealing the spokes in my rims to go with a tubeless tire. Jeremy and Rush gave me their honest opinion based on years of experience to keep the bike as it was designed. I respect that. I decided to make the modification and they agreed to swap the tires and bearings for me as long as I took responsibility for any leaks if my spoke sealing process failed. I found these guys to be straight shooters and easy to work with. All my questions sent by email were answered and they were patient and willing to be helpful.

Thomas Warrick: I made an appointment for a motorcycle state inspection. The service writer was very professional and polite. When the state inspector saw that it was a Honda Trike instead of a Harley-Davidson, he came up with a reason not to perform the inspection. He told me that he didn't have the specifications on the thickness of the rear rotors and it wasn't his job to figure what the minimum thickness should be. I would think that if you're doing maryland inspections, you would have the tools and information you to perform your job. I shouldn't have to provide that information for him to do his job. I went to Atlantic Cycle where they were able to perform the inspection immediately without making an appointment.

Christopher Johnson: I had my Harley Davidson towed to this facility, the service was great, Hondo is the man! The entire staff seemed to really care about the customer. I picked the bike up on a Tuesday, and took it on a road trip the following morning.....I made it about 650 miles and had another issue with my bike, I spoke with Both Harley dealerships, Fort Washington, and the Harley dealership I had to have it towed to. When I spoke to the service manager Chris, He was very apologetic, told me that I was not to worry, he was sorry that it happened, and that he would handle it. dustin kosar: My insurance's roadside assistance towed my BMW bike to the dealership instead of a BMW dealership. Craig Garrett (General Manager) was great at helping me work through the issue. He stored my bike while I coordinated with BMW to get new tires, and gave me an extremely fair price to tow it to another shop who services bikes like mine. This is a dealership that ensures, regardless of manufacturer, riders take care of each other. The next time I'm shopping for a new bike, I'll gladly come here first.

zachary burdette: Wow. I just had the best dealership experience I've ever had in my life. I purchased my first motorcycle from Alejandro, and he made the whole process easy and smooth. I will admit, as someone who has never been on a motorcycle before I was a little intimidated. Alejandro made me feel like I was already part of the motorcycle owning club. He was informative and polite. He quickly pointed out a bike that was right for me. I only looked at one bike and it was the perfect one for me. I'm now a proud owner of a Honda cb300r! Denis Wallace: Service department is super responsive and on top of it. I’d trust them to do work on my motorcycle anytime. Granted I only had the tire changed and wanted to do the rest of the body work repairs myself, they had no issue with that. So once they had the pets in they notified me and once the tire was done I was all good to pick it up, even paid the invoice over the phone and all I had to do was look at the bike, sign a paper and she was mine again. Thanks Griff and Jackson for putting my mind at ease when I’ve never had anyone do work on my motorcycle before.

Nick Doty (Nick): I previously brought my bike here to have quite a bit of work done. My bike has a lot of miles on it and had sat for a long period of time, so I brought it in for new tires, fluid changes, and a rebuild of the engine given the high miles. Originally given all the work that was taking place, I was told they would give me a 10% discount for all the work. I'm aware that this wasn't really a discount, and more of a "good will" gesture they likely give to many people. They had my bike for a very long period - maybe 8 to 10 weeks. Half that time was waiting for the work to begin. Once the work began, I was told and received several calls of additional things they found, wanting to know if I wanted things changed. This included extra hours to deal with the cruise control system my bike had. However, at a certain point, I quit receiving updates. After approximately 2 weeks, I called to check the status of my bike. They informed me that my cruise control was not working and that they were trying to fix it. The cruise control was electronic and after-market. I did not use the cruise control frequently, BUT - it was working just fine when I brought my bike in. I told them I didn't want it fixed as I just wanted my bike back, but I didn't want to pay for all the work they did dealing with the cruise control, seeing as they broke it. They told me I was receiving a 10% courtesy discount (the one I'd already been promised) so that would cover the hours spent on the cruise control. This was not the way to handle this - in my opinion, they should have cut those hours out of my bill, and given me a further discount seeing as they *broke a functioning part of my motorcycle*. I picked the bike up and took it home, and everything that was worked on works well, except the cruise control. If you just need standard work done, this place will do you just fine - but be wary of aftermarket items on your bike, and make sure to double check your bill because they will charge you for the work, regardless if they fix it (or in my case - break it). I don't regret taking my motorcycle here but I definitely will not be back.

ZJLS !: Went there to get tires put on my bike, I get a call saying they blew up the tube and it exploded. Rendering it useless. I asked if they had tubes, they said no, and were still going to charge me $100 for tire being installed that I can’t use because the tube exploded. Now I have to buy tubes, and pay for the tires to come back off and put new tubes in. Now my bike is sitting, not useable, which is my primary mode of transportation. Service: Tires
Response: This is the owner. Please give me a call Tuesday between 11-6 301-324-2491. I instructed my employee to give you a discount due to inner tube exploding. We do not carry that tube size otherwise we would have replaced the tube and finished that wheel. The tires that you switched to were larger therefore the tubes need to be larger to compensate.
George Wilkins: Bad customer service, changed 2 tires with inner tubes, and was charged 2 separate prices, rude service, inclear explanation on the 2 separate prices but same labor. Also if you have a vehicle stores there or being repaired there and it has been there for a while, GO GET YOUR VEHICLE, you'll thank me later, I'll just leave it at that. Changed a kick start on my son's bike cause it was slipping, kickstart was $13 changes it myself, working fine now. To the person that was charged $200+ plus for a kick start and installation, WOW!!! The vehicle was brought to us because the clutch was not working. He wanted a price BEFORE we ever looked at the bike which would be impossible to give as we do not know what the problem is. Eventually he left the bike with us with a required $90 deposit. The problem was fixed in 30 minutes which was a cost of $45.00. No parts were needed. Once that was fixed we tried to start the bike but the kick starter was slipping on the shaft and was going to need to be replaced. We gave him the price to replace the kickstarter and kickstarter shaft. Labor $90 Parts $196.44 = $286.44. Mr James was also given the option for us to look into another problem which was the bike would not start normally. He had to lean the bike over and even then it would take long to start. Mr James declined for us to have us look into the hard to start issue. I can not repair or diagnose anything that is not authorized. He chose only to fix the damaged kickstarter. A deposit was made of $175 to order parts. Also being that the dirtbike is 32 years old Mr James was told that parts may be discontinued or take longer then normal to get in stock. While waiting for parts to come in Mr James accused us of holding his bike hostage which makes no sense as we simply are waiting for parts. Parts were ordered 10/21/20 and arrived 11/20/20. I installed the parts on 11/24/20. So his clutch was working and his kickstarter was working. Those are the ONLY repairs he authorized us to do. When he was notified his bike was ready he was also told that we did NOT try to start the bike as it has an existing hard starting issue that he did not green light us to look into. What he paid for was fixed and he agreed to the prices that he was charged, there were no hidden fees at all. Upon picking up bike Mr James and his son were trying to start bike. Which they were having trouble starting. He asked me to help him start the bike. I refused as I told him him and his son are not doing anything wrong with how they were trying to start the bike so there was nothing I was going to be able to do to start it. Of course he was not happy. But from my perspective he knew there was a hard starting issue from the time he purchased it. Eventually Mr James was able to get his bike running and he rode it around the parking lot before loading it into his truck. We are sorry that he is not happy but we only FIXED what he authorized us to repair. The bike came into the shop with a clutch issue and was unable to be ridden. It left with that issue fixed. We are open and honest with all our customers but sometimes we can not make everyone happy. In this situation I do not see what more we could have done for Mr James.

Aaron Contic: Came into this location to purchase a set of irons, found a set of Taylormade M2 irons that I initially thought were correctly priced at $499. I asked the team member working in the golf department that I was interested and ask where the rest of the set was. He replied that the rest of the set was missing. I asked what was the current price with 3 clubs of the 7 iron set missing? His response was “that’s the price, my manger won’t change it for some reason, but you can ask him” So I asked to speak to the manger which He initially said was available. I was then told that the manager currently on duty was conveniently on a conference call and was now unavailable and the answer was “NO” on a new price for the remaining clubs. To start the team member was friendly and helpful. That being said. I’m also a manager in retail and if a customer asked to talk to a manager about a reasonable question. Im not going to have my employee have to tell the customer “NO” That’s terrible customer service and it’s also a bad business practice to try to sell customers a product that’s missing pieces for the same price as if it’s not!

Maritza Cooper: Always a pleasure to visit this location. The store is always clean and organized. You usually get greeted as you walk in the door. The associates are always helpful and pretty knowledgeable. They will go out of their way to help! Well stocked too! Bought a fitness trampoline to keep a 7 yr old from going stir crazy in an apartment during these NO School days! Hope it works! It was Waaay up high. Had 3 different associates make sure I got what needed. All while helping other customers.

Myi Oui: this was my first time at a pawn shop so i was nervous but it was quick and friendly service. sold my items and received cash for it and it didn't take more than about 20 minutes. if you don't want to deal with the hassle of selling online just come in here and get cash in hand, ofc you're not going to get nearly as much as if you sold it yourself online but if that doesn't bother u much this is a great place to go.

Francis Jafari: I have been to many pawn shops throughout my life! I’m a bit of a junkie for them. I love shopping there and finding great things for great prices. I will say crown pawn shop is by far the best I’ve ever encountered! Everyone there is so amazing and willing to help anyway they can! Just ask for mike and he will drop what he’s doing to help. He has always been fair and given me the best deals and gives top dollar for all my items. They also have a female staff member, mrs Jessica who has extensive knowledge of jewelry and can really help you with all questions you have and will work with your budget to help send you home with the ring or watch you desire! All in all this is a 5 star pawn shop and I would recommend it over and over again, so make it your first stop if you’re looking for great deals and great staff!!!

DM: If you want a Moto Guzzi (and you really should, I have three...) La Moto is the place in the DC metro area. They are located near the Clarendon metro and easily accessible by mass transit or car ( although it is street, meter parking only). During these odd pandemic times they have been operating in an appointment only mode. In my case that was not a problem. I knew which bike I wanted (a V85 TT Centenario) and conducted most of the discussions with the manager Stuart via email. Stuart offered me a test ride but I actually had quite a few hours on the V85 so instead I put a deposit down over the phone and the bike was fully assembled, tested, and ready when I had time to pickup a couple of days later. When I arrived all of the paperwork was completed and it was just a matter of a few signatures and a check. Stuart gave me a run down on the bike specific features and controls and I was off. Could not have been a more pleasant experience. A couple of weeks later I noted a minor computer related problem and scheduled a service appointment. The technician tried his best to resolve the issue while I waited and had lunch at the Silver Diner across the street but ultimately I had to leave the bike to allow for a more detailed diagnostic. Once the bike was ready all of the issues were completely resolved and I was in and out of service quickly. Great customer service on all levels.
Garland: My Ducati is in the shop and I’ve been thinking about buying a new bike so when I stop by to see the Aprilia‘s I figured I’d see what kind of inventory they have. I was immediately greeted by a lady with short hair and temperament, “have you been to our website? If you had you would know we are by appointment only.” I can understand if she was busy but there weren’t any customers in the store. Not one! That’s a really bad of a way to greeting a first time customer. Particularly someone who looks like they buy motorcycles. I mean I was wearing a Ducati hat- A dead giveaway. This is ridiculous. Customer service is awful! I’m headed to Coleman Powersports now that I finished writing this in the parking lot.

Jason Kendrick: Great experience purchasing a new Aprilia Taureg today. Stuart and Colleen in sales couldn't have been more helpful. Just a quick call to set up an appointment. Both were really knowledgeable about the motorcycle too. The service department seemed to be well organized as well. Just a short wait time because of supply chain issues...as everyone knows...but they have a good record of their soon-to-be delivered products. 👍👍
Ernest Glascock, Jr.: I pre-ordered an RS660 which finally came in this week. Whenever I would ask for an update, they would get the answer very quickly for me. The pickup paperwork was done in less than 15 minutes, and I got a thorough introduction to all of the electronic settings on the 660. Everyone was super helpful, and I can't thank the team enough for their kindness throughout the process!
Blair Simpkins: In 2020 I bought a motorcycle to be transferred to South Carolina and the Dealership never sent to title to the SC DMV within 90 days. The Lien holder also never got a copy so now after 2+ years (Bike paid off) La Moto will not give me a title. They keep making excuses and don't return my emails or phone calls.
Nick Morgan: Stewart and the staff are the best. Very friendly and easy to work with, knowledgeable, straight forward, and helpful. I've purchased many bikes from dealers and individuals and my recent purchase from LaMoto was one of the easiest and smoothest. They go out of their way to help with whatever you need and will bend over backwards to make it work. Loving my new Aprilia and looking forward to working with them in the future. If only they were in RVA! But gives me an excuse to visit DC.
Patrick Flaherty: I stopped today to take a look at some scooters and was very disappointed at how I was spoken to. The employee I spoke with (He didn’t even bother introducing himself, getting off the couch, or even really greeting me politely) said I could take a look at the scooter in the showroom. This was after he started by insulting my wife and saying she wouldn’t be able to ride a scooter because of her height. He then proceeded to repeatedly say, “Vespas are the most expensive scooter in the world.” Like I didn’t know what a Vespa was or somehow implying that I couldn’t afford one. Needless to say I will never be purchasing a Vespa at La Moto Washington.
Rodrigo Burela: I just called today at (2:39pm) and the salesman did not introduce himself properly plus I asked a few question about a 50cc moped and he replied back so unprofessional. I’m new on this and I ask questions to understand better the requirements in order to get one.
