British International School of Washington: what do users think?

BSW PA Treasurer: A super professional independent private school in the heart of DC serving Nursery to High School Students. What makes this school standout is its British high quality curriculum and diverse student population. Class sizes are small and the teaching first class.

Tuna Şeker: Its professional school for me. Education is super and beautiful classes in this school.

Washington International School: what do users think?

mat tan: This school is not good. I have been a student at WIS from kindergarten up to now in high school. The academics here are ok. No interesting courses and the courses do not teach you useful skills except for digital design with Mark Perkins which is very useful and you learn a lot. There is no real entrepreneurship or programming course. In terms of students its horrible. From what I have seen, the students are not interesting, don't do anything, and are horrible influences. The students are bored and the few that do anything extra other than school don't actually do cool things. All the students are also bullies who never change, this happens in every grade. Also, the students are horrible influences, so many high school students do drugs (weed, cigarettes, LSD) and they drink alcohol. I don't think this is very rare but still here and very present. If you send your child to this school be prepared to see your child likely to develop into a bully, not feel good, and perhaps even do drugs or drink alcohol. One pro is their campus which is very good and their teachers are good. Also, its a good brand for college and university.

graysmiles: I used to go to this school and it was a great experience the lunch is great the kids are so kind and the teachers and staff are really really caring. There is no such thing as detention and they have all these special events in the school year. The sports day is amazing and the P.E program is very good. Now in Paris I am doing everything I can so that I am up to level in my Spanish and can get back into the school when I come back to DC.

David Zamula: WIS has the best Art program in the world, Annette and Nancy have transformed art education at WIS. The graduates of the program have gone on to pursue fine art, graphics and design ventures.

Andre Gardiner: Best. School. Ever

delee 18: There is no better school.

S Horton: it sucks

Ana Diaz-Young: It is awesome

The Lab School of Washington: what do users think?

Raba Letteri: This is our son's fifth year at Lab School. We could not have been more pleased with the progress he has made. Our son's self-esteem and confidence was boosted, and it allowed him to achieve many of his goals. I cannot speak highly enough for Lab School's staff. Outstanding school!

Daniel Herman: Its a great special ed school. Great and innovative minded students, teachers, and administration. Couldn't ask to be a 10th grader rising 11th grader in a better private High School. The High School recently moved into a new and fancy with 21st century technology like touch white boards, white board walls, among other things.

Peter Eisler: Both of our children have thrived at Burke. The faculty is terrific, the academic standards are high, and the school really stresses personal growth and responsibility. Students are encouraged to take risks and be comfortable in their own skin. The leadership program also is very strong.

jaheim seymour: this school is the worst don't come here you cant get a proper education here its very boring .

Michael Akosile: A good school I left but I wish I would have stayed now.

Sam: It’s Tragic the school didn’t reach out to the mother of the girl who committed sucide. My deepest condolences goes out to her and the family. The staff on duty that day needs to be fired ASAP!

Michael Mattingly: Hearing about the horrors that go on in that school, from the worst kids that attend it, to the unqualified staff running it, I would rather send my child to jail for juveniles, to get an education

Tatyana Gibson: It got me ready for the world completely changed my look on life even though i didnt stay the whole time

Redeat Lawrence: Poor girl committed suicide because of bullying?! My heart goes out to her family. I Was considering this school for my son.. changed my mind.

Washington Waldorf School: what do users think?

Bonnie Auslander: A fantastic community of teachers who are dedicated to their students. My two kids have been there for six years and love it. Lots more info about our school on DC Urban Moms. Come take a tour or attend the bazaar in November to get a sense of what Waldorf/ Steiner education is all about.

Daniel Foster: We have two children at this school, and they are both extremely happy there, and wouldn't want to be anywhere else. The teachers are extremely dedicated, and the quality of the students' work is extraordinary. The curriculum is very rich, and the approach to teaching encourages a love of learning which is really the most important thing a school can provide.

Jennie Rabinowitz: Incredible place for children to learn at a developmentally appropriate pace without being beholden to nonstop testing. Teachers here have deep relationships with and insights into their individual students. So happy to have found this wonderful school and community!

Eric Holdsworth: We have had our daughter at this school since pre-school and she loves it. This school and its method of teaching are a magic elixir for what ails most public school teaching. Come to Waldorf and find a better way to learn.

Don Gabriel: I have no children, but I’ve always been impressed by the lectures that I attended. Everyone seems to be remarkably dedicated to their Waldorf adventure.

Andrei Farago: My friends and I were treated very badly by a teacher named miss spotolnick but everyone else was nice.

Thiago Roberto: Excellent

Gonzaga College High School: what do users think?

Mike Tam: I owe much of my success to the experience(Academics, athletics, the commute, and the people) of Gonzaga. To know Gonzaga is to LOVE Gonzaga. Advice for prospective students and parents: If you're interested in attending, be sure to trial the student for a day program as both my brother and I found it helpful in selecting a high school. It is pronounced Gon-ZAG-ah not Gon-ZOG-uh (The yuppies have somehow proliferated this pronunciation throughout the metro area... stop that.) The school does an excellent job of offering aid programs for families. The education was worth every penny as evidenced by the opportunity cost of writing this review. - Michael Tam, Class of 2002.

Ted E.: A wonderful high teaching men how to navigate and succeed in the real world. If these guys were born with a silver spoon, they're using it to serve others.

Andrew Fertig: Best School in the area for turning boys into Men for Others.

Mike Zapata: Better than any other school no question.

Caitlin Myers: Loved it!

Dunbar High School: what do users think?

Tiffany Jordan: My son is in his freshman year, 3.7 GPA & a football player in the engineering program . I really didn’t want him to attend this school because of it’s reputation but my son begged and I said I’d give it a year. I feel like the majority of the staff really care about my son’s success and future. They (most) keep me in the loop with his education which helps me help him when needed. They have Lunch tutoring for those who need it as well as Saturday school. So far I really have no negatives but again we are freshmen.

Alexis Collins: Ignore the reviews regarding the outside appearance. They have not attended this school and do not appear to know what goes on inside of those walls. It is horrible. Students are not focused on learning and would rather take part in illegal activities. This school will give your children anxiety and will cause them to develope horrible social skills if they go here. The education? What education? You won't learn anything that actually prepares you for "The World" , you'll be too busy trying to protect your belongings from being stolen by other students. It's not that the teachers are incompetent, it's the students, you won't learn anything if the teacher is pouring all the teaching towards the trash. Do not send your children here and do not recommend this school to anyone else you know who has children of their own. I graduated from here in 2013, I am one of the few people to survive this place and know the difference between "Their" ,"There" & "They're". This school is a joke, it's treated as more of a social event rather than an actual educational facility.

Michael Lewis: Its been years since I've been back to Dunbar 1971 - "Where any body who is anything Graduated from here" is what we were told both me and my Mom. I think I will put a visit to the Newly Reconstructed school on my "Bucket List" This is Great

Patrina Swinson: I Love this School had so much fun when I attended Dunbar High great supportive Teachers the best staff ever the love and compassion the students showed each other is something that I have carried throughout my career and lifestyle. Thanks Dunbar Proud to be an alumni of 1993

Nathaniel Gregg: The cornerstone is written in roman numerals on the right hand side of the doorway. An omission is the most serious mistake an architect can make.If indeed this is someone taking credit for work they never did the situation should be discussed adulty and communicated intelligently.

Rusty West: Wow, talk about state of the art high school. Very cool that they have a museum about the school history within the school.

Paula Gordon: I WAS MISS 10TH GRADER , WAS ALSO A CHEERLEADER AND BEST DRESS GIRL.

Mohammed Kemal: Perfect location with play ground!

Kenny: they jump kids that go to mckinley tech high school for no reason

Layona Lucas: All they do is fight, nothing gets done. It's horrible.

Eastern Senior High School: what do users think?

Harold Coleman: I attended Eastern from 2003-2007, and I had the time of my life. The people I've met, the teachers I've had, the administration team, the best band in the land, the choir under the direction of Mr. Davis, etc. will forever be in my memories. After 2007, the school went under reconstruction and today Eastern is a much better school for learning. The neighborhood is better as well. It was truly different when I attended.

Austin Graff: Since I'm not a student here, I cannot speak to the academics or school culture, but as a neighbor, I can speak to the location, building, and campus. Eastern High School is a beautiful building on Capitol Hill East just a few blocks from the Stadium-Armory Metro Station. Behind its historic building is a football field that is open to the public to work out in when school is not in session. During the summer, I wake up at 6AM and watch the sun rise over the football field as I do my work out on the perfectly even grass and run a few laps around the track. I've seen others walk the bleachers for a good exercise.

Heather Schoell: Full IB school. Robust Health/Med Sciences Academy with paid internships & opportunity to graduate as a certified EMT. Core classes are challenging, with lots of projects and several trips off campus. There are many electives/activities/clubs/sports to choose from (moot court, AP psyc), staff is wonderful, location is great, active parent population. Band is amazing. Library is very active with author visits and film screenings.

Sandra Mcgrier: The special education is the worst when children have 501 plans and they have slow learning disabilities and also they have behavior issues they're excluded from other activities and also they consider children as being absent everyday when they are still coming to school the school has the worst quality in the world when I say if your here your child is here she is still considered absent The teachers hold grudges they are not professional at all their tolerance is very low they tell you that your child is being defiant calls you constantly when you have a 504 plan and that implements a whole lot the behavioral specialist worst some of the teachers hold so many grudges that if they don't get along with the parents they will fail the children. Because they hold grudges misgivings is one of them

Nathaniel Gregg: I am a rambler graduate. I graduated in 1967 at the starplex amory. The prom was at the Washington Hilton. The years it spent studying at Eastern was rewarding and instructive. I went on to Howard University to major in architecture a major in design a minor in construction.

Vernon Bell: Class of 89Classroom Teacher Mrs turnish English Teacher. Blue a white Marching Machine... Best year Ever... Principal name was Ralph H. Nails

PREMIUM ACCOUNT: Posting a review because I was reminiscing about my childhood and my home town high school. Pretty good memories. Haven’t been around there in awhile

Tawanna Neal: Happy 30th Anniversary to the Class of 1988! 🎓🎉🎈🎉 Graduated at the DAR Constitution Hall (June 3, 1988) #WeAreThePrideOfCapitolHill #Rambler4Life 😘 #FamilyAlmamater

Patrick Dow: Lacking toilet paper, paper towels and soap in most restrooms. Middle of flu season, no soap or hand sanitizer anywhere near most restrooms. Unacceptable.

Samantha: DIRTY , MICE , NEVER SOAP OR TISSUE IN THE BATHROOMS

School Without Walls: what do users think?

Nicole Pendergast: Such a picky school

Elton Levingston: A vast majority of the students are ready and eager to learn at the next level. Their arrogance may get in the way of them learning more but they do work hard. This was a four month sub assignment so there was a lot to experience. Having taught in other countries these students seemed ready to compete at the upper managment/lower executive levels with a few outliers to the top and one or two to the bottom. The lead administrator needs to be (and probably will be) replaced soon, but the faculty and staff are very capable. The teachers were very strong educators and the focus on outcomes filters down. The teacher's lesson plans demonstrated an exact expectation of outcome and the students' behavior reflected that intensity of purpose.

Ryan Nock: One of the best high schools in all of existence 10/10

Rick D: Best high school experience in the DMV.

Lloyd Fickes: Lived just block away in 1958.

Jonathan Kane: Love the Teachers, An actually so far they have been very helpful as a new coach in making me feel right at home and welcomed me from the 1st day. Including me on everything as well as well as open to new ideas which I really like coming from Montgomery County Public Schools......Very technology savvy school paperless and really good job at getting students informed on current issues in these troubled times. As well as staying competitive with sports teams and always looking toward improving their sports teams. As well as very strong academics......

Gilles Alfandari: For engaged, compassionate and inquisitive minds.
