The Lab School of Washington: what do users think?

Raba Letteri: This is our son's fifth year at Lab School. We could not have been more pleased with the progress he has made. Our son's self-esteem and confidence was boosted, and it allowed him to achieve many of his goals. I cannot speak highly enough for Lab School's staff. Outstanding school!

Daniel Herman: Its a great special ed school. Great and innovative minded students, teachers, and administration. Couldn't ask to be a 10th grader rising 11th grader in a better private High School. The High School recently moved into a new and fancy with 21st century technology like touch white boards, white board walls, among other things.

Cardozo Education Campus: what do users think?

David Lewis: I used to be a Clifton but this school is pretty big but its has Great Teachers & City year very helpful as well.

Charlie 4300: I dislike cardozo high school because of the way teachers teach and they dont provide help for students who are struggling in their classes and most of all i dislike the lunch and the way the principle set up the no cell phone rules for an example: WHAT IF THERE WAS A SHOOTING IN THE SCHOOL AND OR MAYBE A FIRE WE AS STUDENT CANT CALL OUR FAMILIES OR ANYONE ELSE TO LET THEM KNOW WE WONT MAKE IT OUT OF THE FIRE. ME AND OTHER STUDENTS HERE HATE CARDOZO HIGH SCHOOL...

Alex: It’s a good school but it’s dirty. There has been plentyyyy of bugs there this year.

LACICI JJ_K_D: The school is full of lovely teachers and friends🤗😘😍

Ingrid Contreras: The worse school the teacher are amazing but the principal is not good

Rocketship Rise Academy Public Charter School: what do users think?

Alisha Tiggett: Rocketship Rise is one of the best brand new Charter School located in Southeast DC. My daughter loves this school and within just the first few weeks of school I noticed a change touching my daughter's intellectual mindset. Im like wow this is going to be a good school year for her and its has been off to a great start.

Daphne Rice: My review is for Rocket ship Legacy Prep on Alabama and Massachusetts Ave S.E. my senior parents home sits directly next door too the HORRIBLE SCHOOL!!!! This school was built without any input or consultation of members of the surrounding community who have lived here for over 40 plus yrs. This community is made up of entirely of seniors and retired persons there are NO KIDS!!!! living this area. Pastor Reverend Patrick Walker Jr. of New Macedonia Baptist Church sold this property to Rocket ship and It's parent company for over $1 million dollars for the construction of this MONSTRASOTY!!! The negative impact this school has and continues to have on the community daily is Unfathomable. Let's begin with the parents and the kids who attend this "school" who don't either live or pay taxes in this neighborhood. These folks are RUDE,CRASS,HEATHENISH,DISRESPECTFUL,LOUD, and Classless I could go on....parents let their kids run on property owners property and do not reprimand them, parents and teachers park in front of our houses(were we park) sometimes all day instead of on the school .parking lot . When I say it's like my parents are living in a "WAR ZONE" it is not an exaggeration . When you have intruded on an primarily, educated elderly community with a school who's student population and parents come from a different socioeconomic demographic that don't share the same values the effect is DEVASTATING!!!! My hope is that this school be closed PERMANANTLEY !!!! but until this happens it would be helpful if the Principle: Ms. Jeanice Stewart had an open house so that the parents of these "kids" meet with the neighbors in the neighborhood to discuss how to be better "Neighbors" and be more respectful and considerate of there surroundings. Finally Reverend Patrick Walker Jr. of New Macedonia Baptist Church has peace and quiet each and everyday around his home why did he not afford the same piece too the neighbors surrounding his church for the past 40yrs one simple word GREED!!!!!!

Nandi B.: I love this school and so does my daughter. She has shown an improvement since starting kindergarten there. They understand the importance of self care and relationships with the parents. They do their absolute best on making sure families are involved in school and their child’s education.

Neek Neek: Just enrolled my son in this school and he didn’t want to leave. He’s going to kindergarten && I love that they would be changing classes that’s awesome.. my child is very hyper so him being able to transition to other class room is great for his energy. All the staff members were nice..

Brenda Green: My granddaughters have been attending Rocketship Rise academy for 3 years I have yet to see kids running in the hallway or playing in the bathroom there staff is very friendly and helpful and I'm greatful that they are who they are and my grandkids are progressing accordingly.LOVEYOU

John JI Chisholm: Amazing facility, good staff and even better kids. For the past two months we have worked with the school, only to find some truly dedicated and caring staff members who work tirelessly for their kids. Bravo, it's great to see.

Teaira Hinder: Worse school ever the teachers are very unprofessional my son told me his teacher cursed at him and when I confronted the teacher she denied everything but I know my child wouldn’t lie. THOSE KIDS ARE THERE TO LEARN NOT GET MENTALLY ABUSED.

natashia turner: The wosrt school ever the teacher be pushing the children against the wall cursing and them .... The let the children run in the hall play in the bathroom the have no control. My son hate this school and his in the 1st grade .....wosrt school in se

Staypoping Nyny: It is a really nice school and that it helps kids like me get to their dreams

J Rayne: I love this school... the staff is awesome I've seen great things happen already at this school and it's not even mid year yet

mat tan: This school is not good. I have been a student at WIS from kindergarten up to now in high school. The academics here are ok. No interesting courses and the courses do not teach you useful skills except for digital design with Mark Perkins which is very useful and you learn a lot. There is no real entrepreneurship or programming course. In terms of students its horrible. From what I have seen, the students are not interesting, don't do anything, and are horrible influences. The students are bored and the few that do anything extra other than school don't actually do cool things. All the students are also bullies who never change, this happens in every grade. Also, the students are horrible influences, so many high school students do drugs (weed, cigarettes, LSD) and they drink alcohol. I don't think this is very rare but still here and very present. If you send your child to this school be prepared to see your child likely to develop into a bully, not feel good, and perhaps even do drugs or drink alcohol. One pro is their campus which is very good and their teachers are good. Also, its a good brand for college and university.

graysmiles: I used to go to this school and it was a great experience the lunch is great the kids are so kind and the teachers and staff are really really caring. There is no such thing as detention and they have all these special events in the school year. The sports day is amazing and the P.E program is very good. Now in Paris I am doing everything I can so that I am up to level in my Spanish and can get back into the school when I come back to DC.

David Zamula: WIS has the best Art program in the world, Annette and Nancy have transformed art education at WIS. The graduates of the program have gone on to pursue fine art, graphics and design ventures.

Andre Gardiner: Best. School. Ever

delee 18: There is no better school.

Bernaiah Jackson: My child went here a few year's back, in third grade. This school has very low grades.I am surprise the teachers still work there. My daughter Dynasty grades kept slipping. It was either good at one thing but horrible at the other.I decided to transferred my child to Barnard Elementary. That school expect very high expectation. Her grades are now going up.My daughter is in the fifth grade. She is now transferring to McFarland middle school.I heard that they having a update to McFarland. It use to be a bilingual program, but now it's open to anyone. It It's going to be the best middle school in the district.

Christina Spencer: Now my kids have been to a lot of dc public school and I hated them but bunker hill es. But I can honestly say I love this school. The staff is amazing and the teachers. HerrasKhepera Howard: They know and study the culture of black people. They teach it to black youth so that they are correctly educated about there contributions to society. That isn't taught in a traditional elementary schools. They have renewed there charter after 15 yrs of successful teaching. It's great to see this school still thriving. We need more schools like this!

Washington Waldorf School: what do users think?

Bonnie Auslander: A fantastic community of teachers who are dedicated to their students. My two kids have been there for six years and love it. Lots more info about our school on DC Urban Moms. Come take a tour or attend the bazaar in November to get a sense of what Waldorf/ Steiner education is all about.

Daniel Foster: We have two children at this school, and they are both extremely happy there, and wouldn't want to be anywhere else. The teachers are extremely dedicated, and the quality of the students' work is extraordinary. The curriculum is very rich, and the approach to teaching encourages a love of learning which is really the most important thing a school can provide.

Jennie Rabinowitz: Incredible place for children to learn at a developmentally appropriate pace without being beholden to nonstop testing. Teachers here have deep relationships with and insights into their individual students. So happy to have found this wonderful school and community!

Eric Holdsworth: We have had our daughter at this school since pre-school and she loves it. This school and its method of teaching are a magic elixir for what ails most public school teaching. Come to Waldorf and find a better way to learn.

Don Gabriel: I have no children, but I’ve always been impressed by the lectures that I attended. Everyone seems to be remarkably dedicated to their Waldorf adventure.

Andrei Farago: My friends and I were treated very badly by a teacher named miss spotolnick but everyone else was nice.

Thiago Roberto: Excellent

School Without Walls: what do users think?

Nicole Pendergast: Such a picky school

Elton Levingston: A vast majority of the students are ready and eager to learn at the next level. Their arrogance may get in the way of them learning more but they do work hard. This was a four month sub assignment so there was a lot to experience. Having taught in other countries these students seemed ready to compete at the upper managment/lower executive levels with a few outliers to the top and one or two to the bottom. The lead administrator needs to be (and probably will be) replaced soon, but the faculty and staff are very capable. The teachers were very strong educators and the focus on outcomes filters down. The teacher's lesson plans demonstrated an exact expectation of outcome and the students' behavior reflected that intensity of purpose.

Ryan Nock: One of the best high schools in all of existence 10/10

Rick D: Best high school experience in the DMV.

Lloyd Fickes: Lived just block away in 1958.

Gina Lee Thomas: My daughter is a freshman at Duke Ellington. She has wanted to attend the school since she was six years old. She LOVES it. Duke Ellington School is such a wonderful experience for these children. Kids who are driven by the arts are special. These kids find it difficult to navigate in some school environments. Ellington is a place where they not only survive…they thrive!
