Mikayla Rose: This was our first time at a Michelin star restaurant and it was the most delicious and romantic dinner I’ve ever had. My husband and I went for my birthday dinner and it was so special. Our waiter, Ramsey, made the experience so personal and he was amazing! This was hands down the best service I’ve ever received at a restaurant from the moment we walked in until we left. Since it was my birthday, we were given a gift of a recipe and the ingredients we can make at home, as well as a raspberry tart with a candle! I’m incredibly impressed and will be returning. 10/10 recommend. Also, for the meal and service we received it was so worth the money and very reasonably price.

Jessie Castner: Amazing experience! All the food was delicious! We had 4 people and got one one of each dish. We were given a gift of the "Strawberry Spaghetti", which to be honest if I saw it on the menu I wouldn't order but it was one of the best dishes I had. My personal favorite was the Asian- Italian fusion spaghetti. My dessert was the Vietnamese Coffee Caramel Coconut Crumble Mochi Brown Butter Cake (I am in desperate need of this recipe, so good!). The service was amazing and all of the servers were so knowledgeable about what they were serving. It's definitely a great place to impress someone.

HK: Enjoyed all of the menus we ordered. Rose’s Luxury is a smart creative restaurant- not using any unheard or arcane ingredients or recipe, it effortlessly creates a new combination of tastes. The way it’s priced is hard to understand ($85 per person prefix for dinner regardless of what you order) and may make it relatively more expensive for some combination of dishes. Other than that, food and service was fantastic.

Kenny: Very nice dining experience. Only negative is the lack of ability to walk in. Orders: - soft shell crab: awesome combination of fried soft shell crab with lettuce wrap. Soft shell crab was fresh and well fried which is sometimes hard to find in the states. - steak and egg: unique presentation of tater tot in a 'race car' box. Steak is well cooked and seasoned simply. Nothing really special but this is how steak should be. - strawberry cake: good overall. Would prefer a more egg based cake. Sample: - movie theatre soup? : It was too salty. Not a big fan. Service was great overall. Would return when I'm in the area.

N -: It was my first time going to a Michelin star restaurant. The food is definitely unique, but not for people who like simple food. Not worth the price, despite its rating. The desserts are not adequately sized for a meal that big... Did not finish the dessert that served "2.9" people. The service was exceptional, with attentive staff. The upper level has a quaint dining space and the bathroom is very nice.

Andrea Bronstein: This was my first time at a Michelin star restaurant and it was an amazing experience. I booked the garden bar area mistakenly thinking it was just for the garden area in general and I’d have a table so I was disappointed when I was seated but it ended up being a great experience. Josh, the bartender, was really personable and knowledgeable and my fiancé and I really enjoyed chatting with him. The food was really good, especially the steak and eggs dish.

Ryan Montoya: This meal was incredible. The English pea cake was maybe the highlight for me and I can't believe how well it traveled and presented. All the instructions were crystal clear and we had fun putting the food together. We chose this menu as we were fasting but I am very curious to try the non vegetarian option in the future. My wife and I haven't been able to get out to restaurants so this option was amazing, but I really do hope someday to experience Rose in person. Absolutely incredible service, from the responsiveness to my request to have the food delivered early (we were traveling that day) to the very friendly, accommodating and personal service of the delivery person (my wife didn't know it was a surprise, mistakenly sent the delivery person away to my work, and the delivery person followed up and realized my wife's error and still delivered the food!). I really can't ask for better service, and it makes this restaurant a true standout among our experiences dining during the pandemic.

Megan Martinez: We loved Rose’s Luxury! Our waiter was extremely nice. The whole staff was super friendly. We got to try 6 dishes since we were a party of three. The lychee salad is a must. The cabbage and chicken were also extremely delicious. We got two deserts and a single coffee French press. They brought us a special tart for my sister since it was her birthday! At the end I was so touched to get a gift at the end of the meal which was a pasta and spice set to make at home!

We enjoyed the refreshing change to casual comfort food, compared with our previous experience of haute-cuisine in Michelin star restaurants. Our server, Dominic, was very friendly and attentive. My wife's favorite dish was Seth's Fancy Fish Camp, while I liked the Cacio e Pepe Souffle. The Steak and Eggs was perfectly cooked, medium-rare, and the sidecar was a fun addition. At the beginning of the meal, we were served freshly baked madeleines, which are the best we have had in the USA.

Carolyn Zacharias: I came in nervously as a solo dinner and ate at the bar - I was immediately greeted by a warm and welcoming staff - from the host to each server explaining the dishes. John and Harley at the bar took excellent care of me through the creation of delicious drinks and perfect recommendations for food. I had the lychee and pork salad which at first glance seemed like a creation of mismatched ingredients, it was both refreshing and hearty. In addition I tried the leek pasta and the soy glazed chicken, both dishes I highly recommend as they are both comforting and creative!

Richard Holst: Elegant and delicious. Everything is gears towards an excellent experience. The staff is very friendly and ready to help. The restaurant has many quiet and corners with the perfect atmosphere. It is well organized and very clean, every inch has amazing details. The food and drink selection is extensive and everything we had was prepared to perfection. The views of the water are amazing and there are plenty of things to walk to in the area. We will be back here often.

Keana Williams: This was an enjoyable food experience from the appetizer breads and jelly, to the Prawn appetizer dish all the way to the lightest and fluffiest pancakes I possibly have ever had! No extra syrup needed!!! Not to mention, the bottomless Mimosas (or other drinks) weren't that bad either... I'm sure you will enjoy this place, just make sure you bring your check book! 😄😄

Dario Camilo Barros Viñas: 5 stars for real in every aspect. It has both a very fancy area indoor and a fancy yet relaxed area in the patio. The service was amazing, the food was superb, the cocktails were delicious and generous. Canver the manager was very kind and served us the calamari complementary make us feel even better served! I didn’t know the Branzino taste this good until I tried it here. We were only two so we couldn’t try more plates but do yourself a favor and try Fiola Mare!

Christopher Gillespie: All about the dining experience here, they go above and beyond. Did the bottomless brunch with amazing views. Brunch at this level of execution will be very tough to match. The blue fin ahi could be best bites of 2022 to date. The scallop crudo was melt in the mouth. Worth the price of admission.

Pe Lin (Cilibluebird): A five star seafood restaurant that deserves the five star. Great for special events minimum 50 USD per per person, but well deserved. Hakan was our server and he made this experience exceptional. Pasta’s are excellent. Georgetown next to water. Outside seating is great in the evenings of hot summers.

Roz Manning: Fabulous venue for our intimate wedding dinner with family. The Mermaid Room and adjoining patio were perfect. The appetizers were delicious, dinner was delectable and service superb.

Vannora Hawkins: We dined here for my husband's birthday. The food, service and ambience was A+. He got the Wagyu and it was cooked to perfection. My branzino was light, flaky and simply delicious. The oysters were AMAZING! The Brussels Sprouts is a must try! After trying to decide over 8 restaurants, we were glad we ended up at Fiola Mare.

Mike: Easter brunch was amazing. Staff, as always, is fantastic.Intro: watercress soup and the other dish white asparagus.Mains: blue crab omelette and Australian lamb.Glad to see that a packed restaurant. Make reservations!

Alemselam Tekeba: So delicious food. Everything is gears towards an excellent experience. The staff is very friendly and ready to help. The restaurant don’t have an Apple Pay, since me and my wife use’s almost everywhere and one additional thing wore if you don’t have an ID card you can’t be served alcohol even if we look adults we felt uncomfortable but we used other credit cards to pay and we cancel my wife’s wine order. The views of the water are amazing and there are plenty of things to walk to in the area.

Janice L: Things started put rocky initially because we weren't greeted by anyone on the front, we went around looking for an employee. But after that, our waitress was amazing! I forgot her name, but she was a very tall female with blondish brown hair, loved her! It was our first time there and she was amazingly helpful with the menu. The oysters, steak and salad tasted amazing. It was the first steak I've ever had at a high end restaurant that WASN'T chewy!! We ordered the NY style cheesecake and chocolate cake for dessert. The cheese cake was a bit too sweet for me, but my fiance loved the chocolate cake. Really glad we decided to stop by here during our weekend stay in DC.

Cindee Sheeler: First time visiting for a friends birthday..Was absolutely amazing. Reggie and the staff were attentive, knowledgeable and very personable. The food was delicious and cooked to perfection. Upscale dining with an old world vibe, but not stuffy and pretentious. Reggie and a staff member sang to my friend for her birthday and they were wonderful..

rob santiago: It’s a great experience. The ambiance is very welcoming and charming. Amazing wines, food and service. Kylie was extremely knowledgeable and made great recommendations. She understood exactly how I wanted a monkey shoulder rusty nail and that nailed the night for me. I will be back.

Marie A Smith Robinson: The atmosphere of the restaurant is pleasant. The walls are filled with cartoon sketches of notable people. I would not recommend the seafood dishes, we had the calamari and lobster bisque, they were subpar. We sent back the calamari and the lobster bisque was barely warm. Raisin bread was phonmenal. The steak was excellent mashed potato and asparagus accompanied it well.

Jessica Kelley: Requested a high top, and mentioned a true dairy allergy.. aka anaphylactic shocked and they didn’t Acknowledge either.. even though I made a reservation & made sure to mention this. Also was told to bad we are busy for my high top. My drinks took 20 minutes to get as well! Not a good place for date night unless you want disappointment

Nicole Deloney: The chicken parmeson is probably the best I've ever had. My friend had the steak medallions and they were a little spicey but good to me because I love spicey food. Service was good and prompt.

Andre Monette: Zero stars, very disappointed with my experience here. Called at 8:30 to get a reservation and arrived at 8:45 to be told they close at 9:00 and they could not seat 4 people because they are closing. Really not what I would expect out of a place that bills itself as a go to steak house. Food is mediocre at best, will not return. Bummer because I used to enjoy it pre-Covid. This is the worst review I have ever given.

Tai Tran: Let me first start off by saying I came to this restaurant from my stylist that morning who hooked me and my date up when I asked, "what's a romantic dinner spot you'd suggest in DC?" And after ordering the delightful meal for two we were given a diverse selection of plates from the first course offerings and additional tasty extras from the chef throughout the dining experience. My hot date and I were celebrating a 6 month anniversary which in some queer relationships is either a really long time or a really short time still worth celebrating (they gave us that cute ice cream at the end). This was a wonderful meal and we were even seated right next to the inside fireplace. Bison tartare, the salads, chef extras, and of course the company of my cute partner made it one of the best meals of my vacation thus far. A great place for a classy romantic dinner.

Bianca: This spot has me gasping for air! Last night a GF and I were on the prowl for evening dinner and stumbled upon this enchanting establishment. After passing this spot up for another restaurant up the block, we decided to come back after being mesmerized by the dessert menu. I ordered the Strawberry-Rose Semifreddo, and my pal ordered the Ode to the Opera. Both were divine, and the staff were charming. We felt like we were in a fairytale, how the team engaged with us and how well the food tasted. I am excited for my reservation later next month!

Antoinette Levon: Lovely place to eat. Limited but well crafted menu. Delicious cocktails accompany creative dishes that pair well with the season. We are outside in the courtyard. Even during the winter it's beautiful. The over arching vine must be gorgeous in the summer. The food was absolutely delicious and I would go again.

Walked in suddenly we were being pampered and cared for like few places know how to do. Do not even look at the menu, just experience the Chef's Table! Each serving will surprise and then delight you. This team of professional dream weavers will never allow your water glass to empty. They will change out your plates and utensils between each course so your palate is able to focus on each exciting nuance of the next course. Be sure to request the whimsical patio and enjoy your own flame 🔥 feature at each table. So romantic. So unexpected, so much more! The food is so well prepared, the presentation perfect, each bite a delight. Make this a must have meal any time you are within 100 miles!

Stacy Walker: This was such a beautiful night! We did the chefs table experience and it was SO good. They respected my dietary restriction (no pork) and made a different dish, which I really appreciate! Dessert was super good, and they brought a special treat for us since we were celebrating a birthday. I'm not a fancy food person, and they answered my questions with no judgement! Loved this place.

Carolyn Rider: I dined here with 2 others for restaurant week. $40 for an appetizer, dinner, and dessert. The appetizers were great - we got the gnocchi, Arancini, and the Salumi. We paired it with some excellent wine. For dinner, the lasagna was 10/10. Super cute vibes, the restaurant is in an old house. Service is excellent.

Ashley Dobbs: Went out for a date night and was not disappointed. We began the night with cocktails, warm bread and the BEST pesto I’ve ever tasted. We then had the lasagna and shrimp & scallop risotto. Both were cooked to perfection. Finished the night with an amazing teramisu. Don’t even question if this place is worth it. Just go!

Gary Smith: restaurant was very pretty and service was good. Came with a large group and we shared somethings so ended up trying a large portion of the menu. the mozzarella and tomato appetizer had very mediocre mozzarella. The lasagna was okay, but not significantly better than a frozen oven ready lasagna. the sweet gnocchi and rabbit gnocchi were good, and the portions for the rabbit gnocchi were very generous, but not out standing. the calamari was good, but not exceptional in anyway. The brussel sprout appetizer was better than other dishes. The filet filled tortellini was by far the winning dish for the night. in the deserts we tried coffee ice cream, tiramisu, and the chocolate mouse. the mouse was very good, and on the thick side which I enjoy. the tiramisu and ice cream were good, but not noteworthy. there was out door dining as well as two floors of indoor dining. bathrooms are on the second floor only accessible by stairs that were moderately difficult to navigate so not a handicap friendly location. I would come back for a moderately nice dinner event, but would not go out of my way to eat here.

Ammar Nahari: The location, service and restaurant in general are all wonderful. Maybe we were just unlucky with our orders. We got the Burrata appetizer with cold sweet potato soup and truffles, I didn't like it much to be honest, and I couldn't taste the truffle flavor. The waiter is really nice and he brought a balsamic glaze which made it a little better. We also ordered lamb gnocchi, it was delicious but different from any Italian food I've had. It had some bitterness to it that can be balanced with some lemon juice. The shrimp and scallop risotto was really really good. It reminded me of a restaurant in Fano, Italy. The truffle flavor is just perfect. Lastly, we got a pistachio Gelato to go. It was creamy and delicious. In general we were happy with the visit, but next time we want to try their lasagna, whole fish, and caprese. Those were the waiter's recommendations.

Hayden Clay: I came for a Sunday Brunch. A lot of us ordered the chicken biscuit because I remember it being yummy pre-pandemic. Either I have short term memory loss or something is going very wrong in the kitchen. All of our biscuits were burnt black on the bottom and lacked all flavor. The "fried" chicken was not breaded and so over cooked that it was hard to bite through. The piece of chicken was absolutely tiny (see picture). The "fried egg" was scrambled eggs thrown on the tasteless biscuit. So disappointed. Truly inedible. See pictures for tiny overcooked, not fried chicken. And burnt bottom.

Timothy Jackson: I recently visited Floriana to celebrate my 40th birthday. It was my first time visiting but it won't be the last. Everything was perfect from the ambiance, the service, not to mention the food. I especially loved the mussels. They should seriously take the mussel broth, add some ramen noodles and they would have a great starter. You won't be disappointed.

James B: When traveling I try to seek out Michelin/ James beard places and this place definitely earned its star. It's a 4 course meal at a reasonable price, especially when you get all of the app choices. I got the duck as a main and the caramelized dark meat was the best I've ever had. All the other dishes were great too, the only slight underwhelming part is the cheese didn't pair well with the strawberries alone, you definitely had to use the crackers. The waiter was great for most of the night, the only slightly annoying thing is that I thought he mentioned he was throwing in the additional slider on the house since it was my first time, but I ended up getting charged for it

Jiaren Li: Well deserving of the accolades! The meal was extraordinarily enjoyable and our waitress was both insightful of the food and friendly. I was surprisingly mind blown by the roasted vegetables - superb ingredients and good techniques make something appear so simple but feels like beyond my ability to replicate at home.

Jeff Ahn: The Dabney is one of my favorite restaurants in DC. However, had a more sub-par experience this last time. Was late 15 minutes to our reservations and lost our seats indoors and had to sit in the heat outdoors. This was a little odd as it seemed many tables were available indoors. Our server was great and was accommodating. Food was great! the corn bread was extremely hot so be careful if you decide to get this! We eventually moved to the bar as it was extremely hot outside and finished our desserts and had a couple drinks. The bartender was nice and asked what we wanted but he got out order wrong. Kinda blamed it on us in front of us to our server which I thought was slightly unprofessional and awkward. Our server made it right at the end. Pros: Catfish sliders! its an extra dish outside of the course. Highly recommend! Dessert was great as well! Cons: Table outside was covered with ants. Bartender could have been a little more professional. Overall, quality of food was great. Service could have been better especially from a Michelin restaurant.

Jessica C: The Dabney is my go-to for special occasions. It’s pricey but whenever my friend from the west coast comes for a visit, it’s our fancy/celebratory reunion dinner. The wait staff is always friendly and they pay you great attention. There are lots of little touches that make this place great (i.e., my friend and I remembered how much we loved the bread and butter last time we came, and the staff gave us tiny jars of the butter to take home with us. The butter is so good you could eat it with a spoon). The snacks/first course were delicious. Even something as boring as a radish turned into a highlight of the meal (I avoid seafood but they made great substations with the pre-fixe menu to accommodate me). The meat is cooked beautifully (though I admit the lamb was fattier than I typically enjoy — see photo) and the egg tart was my favorite dish. The drink was aromatic and lovely. If you can save up for a fancy dinner, go.

Logan Kenney: Amazing farm to table meal, definitely worthy of the star! The food was perfectly prepared and the dishes were extremely well thought out. One of my favorite D.C. spots, it’s a must every time I go.

Beth H: A warm and relaxed place where culinary artists skillfully transform foraged and locally sourced ingredients into edible masterpieces. The finished product unfolds course upon course like symphonic movements, building on a theme, revisiting subtle refrains, interposing cleaver variations, and culminating in a memorable, once-in-a-lifetime edible aesthetic experience!

Nicholas Stephens: Absolutely loved it! Wait staff was super friendly, everyone said hello coming in and thank you, have a good night heading out. Our server, Christian, was very knowledgeable about the menu, offered great suggestions and was patient with our questions. Had a 5-course meal, including snacks, appetizers, entree, dessert and parting sweet treats for the road. A Michelin star restaurant tucked into Blagden Alley, worth the trip and the experience! Julia Gooding: We walked in and we’re thankful to be able to have the choice of the fixed or a la carte. We opted to order from the menu. Warning: portions are really small, so be prepared to order a lot or don’t come super hungry. We joked you get but a dab of food (a La carte at least) at The Dabney, but it’s a tasty dab! Some highlights were hen of the woods, scallops, and the wild meringue desert. But I think the dark chocolate gelato could be darker and richer. Cocktails were interesting but I didn’t find them that interesting in terms of depth/layers of flavor. Really nice staff and positive experience, but a star off because my expectations (with the star) were quite high!

Matt Monarch: Great tasting menu, but probably not worth splurging on given the other options you have in DC. The catfish sliders are worth adding. All the other food pictured was very good but unspectacular.

Christine S: I’ve been here on several occasions, and the Dabney has always been consistently great. Quality of the ingredients really shine here, and the service is stellar. I still remember my first visit when I bit into a carrot and thought “this is what a carrot should taste like.” (LOL…I’m serious though). If you’re someone who appreciates quality ingredients from great suppliers, don’t miss out! From their latest menu (as of September 2021), I tried their chilled corn soup with Maryland crab, tomato tartine, lamb, and nectarine sorbet. I highly recommend the chilled corn soup! Alvaro H. Torres: Exceptional customer service. One of the best French toast I had. Luckily for me, I had two days to try as much breakfast meal. I highly recommend it and it exceeded my expectations. The price is high but you are paying for great quality. After your breakfast you can take a stroll at the water front. I think this is a great selection and you will not be disappointed.

Sydni Hagens: The waitstaff was lovely. Nothing bad to say there, but the afternoon tea left much to be desired. My friend and I have been to many teas around the world and always enjoy trying new ones. This is not an afternoon tea I would recommend to anyone else. The black tea was more gray (like a decaf twinings) and tasted like watery milk. The sandwiches were very basic (although they graciously accommodated a vegetarian request for one of us). The scone tasted like a blueberry muffin, and not like a scone at all. The crepe brûlée was watery and not brûlée’d. Ambiance in the restaurant was awkward and the tables and chairs reminded us of office furniture. The tea service looked like a child’s tea set. This is very overpriced for what it offered. Again, nothing against the staff, just not a good afternoon tea in our opinion. Others in the place raved about it, but we’ve just had so many wonderful afternoon teas, and this wasn’t one of them.

Adam Galazka: Tried the restaurant for a dinner one night and couple of breakfasts while staying at the watergate. Not quite a 5 star experience. For dinner the food was well seasoned but the temperature was luke warm. Not quite what we expected. Service was great. For breakfast, service was great and very fast but again latte was very luke warm. They made it up the 2nd time around. We will definitely come back at some point to give them another try.

Katie Cahill: Made a reservation for a large group (15) for lunch. What a disappointment. The waiter was the only positive part of the experience. Waited for more than an hour for our food, many of which were salads and soup of the day. The salads were wilted, the soup so salty it was nearly inedible, the burgers cooked to death (even though medium was ordered), and the salmon was marginal at best. Being practical, most of us made an attempt to finish our food as to not waste, but terrible. What was worse is the place was nearly empty with only a few other tables occupied. A waste of what was supposed to be a nice lunch at a historic venue.

Viviana Shanks: If you are staying at the Watergate (or just considering eating there) avoid at all costs, for breakfast or dinner. The restaurant looked nice and fancy, so we decided to give it a shot! What a disappointment. A HUGE comedy of errors. Our starter took 20min to arrive. Which ok is fine... they probably made it from scratch? We ordered the chicken (that would comes with purée) and scallops. It took 35 min after the starter for our main courses to arrive. Meaning, almost an hour after we ordered it! My chicken came with French fries, to which I was told that they ran out of purée, but no one thought it was wise to inform me before the meal arrived. - they tried to make it right by giving me ratatouille and broccoli. I started eating, my chicken was not baked, but yes boiled a couple or more days ago. They probably put it on the microwave as the chicken was stone cold on the inside. When I point that out, I’m told « they were probably waiting for the scallops to be ready » doesn’t excuse it. They took my chicken away for an extra 10min to warm it up. Same thing, still cold but I went with it. Our waiter took it out the bill, but the entire experience was miserable. Table next to us had a 21st birthday, and same, they almost all ordered the chicken too and they left the restaurant with their plates untouched. So my case was not isolated. To make the matter worse, the next morning we head there to have breakfast, we are rudely told that there is a 45min wait for breakfast. We look inside the restaurant and it’s half empty, and is a buffet. They apparently couldn’t manage to turn around the few tables they were seri I quickly enough. Pro tip, room service is way quicker. They should seriously think of changing chefs as I feel we were lied to. Would definitely stay back at the hotel but NOT go back to the restaurant.

DeMoN85 “DeMoN85”: As you can see from the pictures this is a very beautiful place to go. The food was freshly made and very delicious! Bar tender was friendly and attentive along with most of the staff. The reason for the three stars was the snobby inattentive waiter. He didn't pay attention to our party when we asked him to keep checks separately. Then proceeded to tell us at the end that he would not do that for us an could only take up to 4 different payments. We had a party of 12 eating there an after getting the manager involved he did his best to accommodate us as we previously requested. However this was not the only reason for this rating. The restaurant was not busy yet the waiter felt the need to take a table away from where we were sitting while we were eating. He was also quite rude to us when asking if we wanted dessert stating "the kitchen is closing so if you're going to want dessert you better get it now!" If we minus the snobby attitude of that waiter everything else was great!

Wait staff was attentive, engaging, and helpful, we had plenty of time to eat 3 courses and get to our show. Not only was the food delicious, but the price was reasonable for what was served. Among us we had the pork belly, rack of lamb, and rack of pork. I appreciated the manager on duty, Hope, taking the time to talk to us about the hotel's transformation and willingness to entertain our questions. I will definitely return very soon! Oh, and if you're interested in non-alcoholic drinks, I recommend "Cinnamon", a refreshing cinnamon tea concoction! I'll need to ask for the recipe!

mingyue Liu: I’m from Boston. I checked online and try to find a good place to eat breakfast. And I’m kinda disappointed because the food was less and cold. And didn’t filled up when the tray was empty. The tea and coffee u need ask for. This buffet cost 25/per person and will charge 18% tips. I didn’t feel happy about that. Not good breakfast choice.

TRS- Private: It’s hard to write the review for this place. The service was not bad, in fact the team were all extremely professional and very pleasant. However, it was tediously slow, despite an abundance of staff. It’s almost like there are too many people working here, I’ve seen Denny’s wait staff handle 10 times the number of customers and do so 10 times more efficiently. It is a shame because it does detract from the experience. It’s just docile here. Like many of the other reviews about the food, Ours was excellent but the portions were pitifully small. I happen to like small portions but here they have taken the philosophy to a ludicrous level. And given the prices, it’s hard to leave satisfied. As I say, it’s hard to write this review without being influenced by all the factors. The food is good, you just have to order a little more than you normally would, the service is good, if you are patient and the ambiance is lovely. I would certainly recommend this place, but with strong caveats of these factors. If wonky management would take note of the consistent reviews of this nature and just make things a little more snappy and up the portion sizes by a few percentage points. Then Kingbird would be a top venue in Washington which definitely needs more options like this, especially over in this part of town.

Thang Phu: Highly recommended! We stopped by for a late afternoon food one day and was amazed at how fantastic the food is. It was all so good, especially their desserts. I have travelled to multiple regions in France and I can attest the food here tastes the closest to food in France. They even have a wine carafe on the menu, just like France. I wished I lived near here so I could go treat myself now and then.

mike wittenburg: Five Stars for the food and the atmosphere. Visited on a busy Saturday evening and got a table without a reservation, amazing. So much seating available. Indoor and outdoor seating. Went with a couple of friends and the drinks and food were fabulous. Tuna dish is a small serving. Trout was great and the muscles were awesome. Apple dessert and vanilla creme brulee delicious. Cindy Yang: Service: 3/5 Food: 4/5 Got a reservation and got seated immediately. We were running late and was trying to call but they don't answer phone calls. Fortunately our table was kept with a grace period. Recommend warm shrimp salad (the shrimp is very fresh), steak, escargot, and the duck. French onion soup is a must. We also ordered fries with added truffle but the truffle is flavorless so strongly recommend against adding it the entree.

brian perkins: Loved this place for a few reasons. Let’s start with the bread. Why can’t all restaurants serve great, fresh, delicious bread? Because it’s not easy. I pictured the empty escargot plate because after dipping the bread in the garlic sauce it was game over. Add onion soup, superb steak frites, profiteroles to die for and you have a neighborhood gem. Not to mention the wait staff gives treats to dogs being walked by the restaurants. How great is that?!

Rob: The food and ambiance are always great. However, on multiple occasions, I’ve felt that the service is not what you’d expect from a restaurant of this caliber. Last time I felt a bit rushed and the service, while attentive, was curt. When our entrees arrived, a waiter couldn’t fully reach to place my friend’s plate in front of him. Rather then walk around the table (there was space), the waiter placed it on the table and gave the plate a quick flick of the wrist to push it over. It’s a small example but I think captures a similar sentiment seen in other reviews about the service.

Karissa Warren: Had an awesome food experience on New Years! Was a little disappointed they didn’t have their usual pastry assortment but every single item we got was delicious!! Dee Ketterman: We’ve eaten here twice and love the food and decor. The feel of the restaurant more resembles an upscale bar with delicious food, as most people are standing and drinking rather than eating. I’d like to try sitting at the bar because I think it’d be a better experience to fit the atmosphere over a low table with people standing all around. The mushroom tart is fantastic and the French onion soup is the best I’ve ever had! The service was dressed appropriately but less attentive than expected, most likely because of how busy it seems to get. Regardless, I really like the food and hope to visit again soon.

Heivi Herne: They call themselves a Spanish restaurant. The interior is nice. Restaurant is spacious. There are different rooms with tables. There are also tables to sit outside. The service wasn't not very fast. I ordered one cocktail. It wasn't very good. The funny thing was that they brought bread, bread and margarine as a snack. I have been to Spain a lot of times and eaten there. There is no such snack there. I think that this place is overpriced

Bibiana Oe: Very cute upscale dining experience! The waiter had many recommendations that were appealing. The bread with the butter is amazing! Ordered assorted oysters, mushroom tart, beef bourguignon, mussels and frites, and the profiteroles. Loved everything and it was good portions! Recommend for a lovely cozy dining in experience since the bar and inside of the restaurant is super unique!

Jennifer 怡慧 Lin: Came to DC for the cherry blossoms and to celebrate our anniversary. So glad we were able to get a reservation on a Saturday night. We loved everything we ordered, the beef rib was so flavorful but tender, the striped bass is light but fresh and the texture of the fish was so soft, the side order of cauliflower has great flavor and with a crispy outside, almost greens beans blended really well with the mushroom. We also got an apple pie as dessert, the pie crust is extremely thin but flaky, the apple filling is tangy but remains a very good texture (not overly soft). We couldn't finish it so took it back to our hotel and ate it the next morning, it still tasted really good! The whole experience sitting right in front of the open kitchen was really cool, we were able to see the chef dedicatedly finishing every dish before serving it. We really enjoyed our visit at the Blue Duck Tavern and we're impressed by the quality of each dish here.

Michelle Wiciak: Absolutely phenomenal. This place has the best duck ever. Honestly, everything we had was amazing--from the charcuterie board to the horseradish potatoes to the chocolate peanut butter cake. A well-rounded meal. Not to mention, our waiter did an excellent job at recommending our wine selection and paired beautifully with our dishes. Just an amazing experience and will come back when we are in the city again.

Tilak Kalaria: Blue Duck Tavern in the Park Hyatt is an amazing dining experience. The ambience and the service match the excellent cocktails, wine, and cuisine. You truly get what you pay for and you do pay don’t get me wrong but WoW everything tastes excellent and the service team’s attention to detail elevates the experience. The bone marrow and the duck were my favourite dishes to name a couple. Intriguingly delicious was their house bread with olives! Excellent dining experience that is worth the price. Cheers.

Kim Nguyen: Wow. We were so impressed with the quality of the food here. It’s my first time in DC and after a bit of researching for fine dining restaurant, we decided to try Blue Duck Tavern. I was able to make a last minute reservation for 2 at 8:30pm. Their bone marrow and duck breast were so bomb. The service was amazing as well. Highly recommend!

Jerry’s Adventure: Service, value, flavor it hits all the marks The short ribs were tender and melts in your mouth. And with a smoky flavor 👌 the egg 🥚 is cooked perfectly as it gives a creamy texture to the dish. The biscuit holds up with good structure, but it’s flavor may not be as accentuated as it can be (mostly herbs) and can use a gravy. Pancakes were fluffy as expected and presentation is beautiful 😌 Overall a must go in DC area

Jim Baker: Went here on a recommendation from a friend, and while the food was very good and the service was attentive, we just weren't as blown away as we expected, especially at the price point. The short rib hash was a just little low on flavor and the Pork Belly Benedict seemed a little clumsy with how the pickled vegetables, basically a lot of carrots, were assembled together. Again, others might completely disagree with this, so go and try and make up your own mind, it just won't become a staple for us.

Michael B: This was a very nice restaurant. But honestly, none of the food was that memorable. The service was impeccable, the atmosphere was nice, but for this price point I expect to die and go to heaven. I just wasn't feeling it. Nothing was wrong, but I wasn't blown away.

Vivian Cheng: Went for lunch. Food is solid, well-executed. We had the cured ocean trout (delicious!) and the kale salad (perfect) with two entrees. Crab cakes are large and delicious. Well seasoned, paired with a salad. I had the confit duck leg. Flavorful, succulent, with a beautiful crispy skin. Sadly, we were too full for dessert. Well-worth a visit.

Tamila Torab Eghdami: It was my first time eating duck. The food was absolutely delicious! 😋 The service was amazing. Too bad we didn’t have time to go back for the second time but next time I’m in Washington definitely we’ll go back. We also tried their apple pie with tea and it was the best apple pie I ever had in my whole life. This restaurant worth your money and time!

Amer Alsamman: Went for our anniversary. The staff were curtious, and friendly. Our waiter went above and beyond to make make our experience great The apple pie was amazing. I had the beef rib which was good but had more fat veins than expected.

QDior: I had a great experience here. My boyfriend and I came here for our anniversary. The around the world food package was great. It was a new and fun experience. I recommend sitting outside during good weather. Our server was knowledgeable and very nice. At the end of the date my boyfriend and I were full and satisfied. I would come back here again.

Rebecca Kaufman: One of my favorite places to eat in DC with an ever changing menu filled with foods from all across the globe. Always some new and interesting to try here. Not a place for picky eaters but if you love to try new foods you've possibly never even heard of, this is the restaurant for you! Also, they have some really good and interesting cocktails, one of which was a dill infused vodka martini.

Natasha Hansen: We did the around the world breakfast for $30 a person. So good! Very generous portions. Not pictured was the delicious chicken that comes as part of the breakfast and fantastic French press of coffee we enjoyed. Great service. Excited to go back and try more!

We didn’t see the name of the spot but when we went inside the decor, music, and aroma was just perfect! So we sat at the bar and ordered the Spicy Bag and a few drinks. Fiorella Hidalgo: Coming here was one of the best meals I ever had but one of the worst experiences I ever had since I moved to the DMV area. Went a Wednesday around 7PM to celebrate my birthday with my mom and grandma. Our server was amazingly friendly and attentive and so the front desk people. I’m taking a star because of security reasons, that day we sat in the outdoor tables. When we were about to get the last part of our Vegetarian Tour of the World course (couldn’t taste the dessert hahah) a guy came to our table and stole my grandmas purse like it was nothing, I ran with high heels in order to catch him screaming for help but nothing really (besides another guy that was eating with his girlfriend next to our table). The server told us the check was going to be for free, which we were thankful because it wasn’t really the server or the chefs fault for security reasons. Everything was delicious! No complaints on their food. Their butternut squash was so creamy and flavorful! Their hot cocktail was out of the world!! Please add some security cameras around, at least for the people that dine outdoors during night! Or close the space so it’s harder for robbers to step in your cart area please m!! Personal recommendation, please dine indoors!!!!

Sadhana G: We got a gift coupon from our friend for our wedding anniversary at this fine dining restaurant. We were excited to try out the brunch menu named ‘Flavours of the world’ which had a unique mix of food. We were very tempted to try out the Georgian famous dish ‘Khachapuri’ and the waitress mixed the eggs in the dish in front of us on the flatbread. It was a different art form to experience. I also enjoyed the Shakshuka as part of the four course meal. The chicken kabob was juicy and delicious and the cutlery had beautiful patterns. We finished it off with a chocolate cake dessert. The food was flavorful but we were slightly disappointed with the available options on the menu for brunch as it was not customizable. The seating & ambience was average as it was just a tiny building converted into a restaurant. Vibe was good though. A place for a different feeling for food!

Megha Fernandes: I love Compass Rose — I used to come here monthly, if not bi-weekly. The dishes are so interesting, and the concept is really cool. The atmosphere is unique and funky yet cozy, and the service is always genuine, friendly, and fun. But the past few times I’ve been a little disappointed with a few food items (this hurts me to write!). While some dishes like the khachapuri will always be a knockout, the patatas bravas tasted off and the chicken skewers were just so so — previously two of my favorites. I’ll still come back because the changing menu leads to getting to try new dishes, but unfortunately the last couple times haven’t measured up to what this amazing restaurant used to be.

Christian Homme: The Tour of the World is an amazing experience. Each dish was better than the last and it all came together in a stunning sampling of food from all over. Great portions, almost counts finish some dishes but they were so good we powered through haha. The music and atmosphere was perfect too. Highly recommend.

Lawrence Whitney: Tried the world tour dinner option and the food was phenomenal! Had a couple things that didn’t make for a completely amazing experience though. 1. Hidden 8% service fee. If you’re going to have a fee for the back of house, totally fine, but at least tell me about it. If I didn’t look at the itemized receipt behind the signed bill I wouldn’t have known about it at all. I’ll happily pay more per meal if it means the BOH gets more! But don’t try to sneak in this fee. 2. Maybe our server was just having an off day, but he did not seem pleased with us or any of the other tables he was serving, totally stoic face and would just put the food on the table. Whatever, didn’t really think much of it. Until I the table next to us ordered the same multiple course meal and their server talked about each food as it was brought out, giving it a little background. Maybe that wasn’t standard and their server was going above and beyond, but maybe at least a little something between these two extremes would have made this “world tour” really pop.

Josh Axelrod: Boy, do they know what they're doing at Compass Rose. Delightful and quirky ambiance aside (absolutely perfect for a more adventurous date night) the food is spot-on. The around-the-world menu and accoutrement is no gimmick. Diners are truly made to feel like they're on a journey, with Georgian-style filled bread (khachapuri) and an Irish "spice bag" of fried chicken thigh to boot.

Asim Soofi: Every single dish we ate was absolutely delicious. I would trust the executive chef at La Vie with any meal. There is something completely unique, yet so familiar with the variety of ingredients in each dish that transports you back to reminisce the first time you experienced it, wrapping you in a maternal blanket of bygone home cooked holiday meals. It has the luxury of comfort food with an eclectic mix transported from Mediterranean, Latin America, French, and Italian flair. Blends of sweet and spice came together in each rich bite. Vegetables and meats were perfectly prepared and plated. Fast on the day you go...you will enjoy every bite and leave happy.

Arvind Prabhu: Nice views, cool vibe, good drinks and decent sides. But you'll pay for it. The sangria was great and so were the brussel sprouts; charred and doused with a sweet and slightly sour honey based sauce sprinkled with pomegranate kernels. That dish is likely THE must have at La Vie. Unfortunately when we went it was over crowded and stuffy, seems like their AC was on the fritz

Leemu Kufuor: Cute and Instagramable! Make sure you dress up! I enjoyed the food and drinks at La Vie but the customer service left more to be desired. The staff at the front when overwhelmed are not friendly or welcoming and they seem to need more attendants to serve the volume of guests that arrive around dinner. I would go back though, the food is good and the drinks are strong.

Kev- keepingitreal: We love the hospitality at La Vie. Our hoist was very generous and attentive, our food was hot, tasty and flavorful. We ordered shrimp, Lamb Chops, Truffle Mac & Cheese, Roasted Chicken with Mashed Potatoes. Underground parking garage is available for a fee.

Tasha Fuller: Overrated. When you pay more you expect more. The ambiance was amazing but the food wasn’t on the same level. The lobster was overcooked and the Risotto lacked flavor, no matter how much salt and pepper I added. The best part of my meal was the French fries and Brussel Sprouts.

Amanda (WhatsDaHype): Beautiful restaurant! The view of the wharf is very pretty on a sunny day. Friendly and attentive staff. The restaurant is pricey but the food and drinks weren’t over the top amazing. I truly appreciated our waiter making sure we enjoyed our meals but the items we got were just good. The presentation of the drinks were nice. We didn’t like the salmon and the waiter exchanged that meal for the lobster ravioli. It was tasty. We also tried the roasted chicken. The combination of all the ingredients was flavorful and hearty. The fried cauliflower was lightly fried but lacked flavor.

Anakaren Cruz: The service is really great and the aesthetic is beyond expectations. The restaurant is on the higher end and pricier side. We spent around $450 for 3 people. I highly recommend the lamb chops and the cotton candy baked Alaska for dessert.

Boss Marius: Mixed feelings about this place, it’s good but I do not think the price is justified. The ambiance is lovely, it’s by the water and the brunch is good, but…You reserve your time slot in advance and still have to wait to be seated. The cost of the brunch if you decide to go for bottomless food and mimosas for two people comes up to $275.

Ashley Emtcheu: The food is delicious, the place is decorated beautiful with Christmas decorations besides its classy and upscale look. Wasn't able to try a drink I was recommended to try by the server but overall great experience. Place is located in a great location which is great if your wanting to get great photos with friends/family. Parking Garage is 2 minutes away in walking distance to this restaurant which is very convenient. 👍🏾

Zuleirys Santana Rodriguez: Amazing customer service! The outdoor dining is just soo extremely gorgeous, spacious and clean in every way. You have a lovely view of the water, the Sweden Embassy, and just the river! The food was just next level, specially the octopus that was cooked to perfection and I will certainly have it again when I come back to bring my boyfriend.

IamJoedie S: This was my first time and the experience was awesome. We came for a birthday dinner. A party of 12 arriving at 5 PM on a Sunday. We had two servers they were on top of everything. There was never a moment a glass was empty. Food service was quick hot and absolutely delicious. I had the steak was absolutely surprise when the potato came out with macaroni and cheese…must order if, no when you come. If you’re looking for a sexy restaurant to have a brunch, lunch and or dinner this is definitely the spot it overlooks the water great date spot. I will definitely come back again. jen w: I gave this 3 stars because of a couple reasons first we had a reservation Saturday at 1:30 pm for their tapas brunch. They were super slow getting our food to us at the beginning. We ordered two rounds of food before the waitress came back and told us it was last call. We were barely there an hour. There is a 2 hour limit, I feel that if they have reservations till a certain hour they should allow the two hour minimum for people. It’s 64.95 per person they aren’t doing a favor for anyone. Next we chose to sit inside and it was obnoxiously loud. There was a group of people that were talking and screaming to each other, while I’m glad they were having a good time management should have asked them to simmer down because all the rest of us could to was watch them because u couldn’t talk for the noise. Having said all that, the food was very good. We opted for Bellinis and Mimosas. They were very good. The waiters walked around with carafes of Champagne and refilled you. My glass never got empty. I would go back here but make an earlier reservation and in cooler weather where I could it on the patio so I don’t have to deal with the noise.

Renee McCracken: Mother's Day Brunch at Sequoia has now become our new tradition. The food was excellently prepared and the service was outstanding. The entertainment was a great addition to our experience. I did have one hiccup during our time there but it was promptly handled and it was like it never happened. I love Sequoia and will definitely recommend and return.

Vy H.: Came here recently Saturday night for a private holiday event—had a great time! The restaurant is huge and beautifully decorated to fit the Christmas/Holiday theme. We had open bar—they have a huge selection of liquor! Food was decent—the hors d'oeuvres were delicious, the main dishes were just okay. Staff are all pretty friendly. There’s a coat check room downstairs when you enter, and an elevator if you don’t want to walk up all the stairs.

John Varkey: We came for an anniversary dinner. The hostesses were a bit surly and disinterested but our waiter was great. The views are fabulous. My wife had the crab cakes and I had the lobster scampi. They were both fabulous but according to my wife the lobster had the edge. We went for a nice stroll along the water and around Georgetown after dinner. A very nice evening was had.

Genesis Marrero: I was truly impressed with this dining experience. We flew to DC for my birthday week and had my birthday dinner here. Luis served us and he was definitely one of the best servers we have ever had wait on us (and we are huge foodies so that is saying something). He was so attentive and just knew exactly how to guide the dining experience based on what the guests is wanting out of their night whether they know specifically or not. We let him take the wheel with all of the knowledgeable recommendations and we were so happy from start to finish. We came back for our last meal in DC and again, Amber served us, and again we were not disappointed. She was so sweet and also had wonderful recommendations and made sure all of our needs were met before we said goodbye and hopped on a flight. Luckily Luis was also there and he remembered us which made us happy because he was also so memorable for us. He was so nice and sent us our new favorite drink that he enlightened us to - the carajillo. I don’t think you could go wrong with a single thing on this menu. The rest of the staff was also very efficient and everything just seemed to flow so smoothly with the teamwork here. I can’t wait to go back someday!

R: This was my first time going to Del Mar and the food was phenomenal! We went as a group of 8 to celebrate a birthday. It was my first time trying octopus and it was really good. The parking in the garage was $45 since I stay for 4+ hours which was a downside for the night so it might be better to find street parking.

Dondré: I rented an igloo and I took my family here for my Mother's birthday and my experience was incredible. The bubbles aka the igloos are nice and incredibly warm. The service is five stars absolutely fantastic, the waiter was nice and patient explaining the family style ordering style. The whole restaurant is extremely nice and well decorated it's like a huge mansion. Lastly this is not a cheap restaurant by any means, but the experience is worth it.

Jack Jiang: It's a bit pricy, but the food and service are worth the penny you spent! I love how the chef perfectly blends flavors together (like pepper+crab+uni sauce). The Sangria Roja cocktail is also a highlight, mixing the richness of wine and the sweet/sour touch of fruits/flowers - one of the best cocktails I've had in a while! Would recommend to everyone

J. Ivy Smith: Food was AMAZING! This should get. Michelin Star. There paella is the best I have had. I want to say there paella and cheesecake is similar to José Andre. Service was excellent and our waiter reminded us of actor John Mulaney. I def recommend this place and def Michelin Star worthy.

Black Star Dust: Absolutely stunning place. Great service. Top tier experience. Everything was a ten. The Seafood Paella is delicious. Highly recommend that dish. It comes in different sizes for sharing. It was my bday so they brought out gratis champagne and this cheesecake that was literally the one of the most delicious desserts to grace the planet. Don’t even get me started on the churros! Amazing! I also did come in with a VIP who goes there regularly so that surely may have enhanced the experience to 10 stars!!

Jo Han: If you are looking for high quality food and drinks then this is the place to be. I love their octopus and eggplants with drinks. There are so many selections but if you want to eat a lot then I'll go for paella. If you are going for drinks and chat then small plates are awesome and very flavorful. We come here multiple times when we come near here and never had bad experiences. Service is great too. So when you are at wharf then come by and try this place =)

Alya's Aura: The food was SO delicious and of course the service was top notch. Our waiter (I believe his name is Michael) was so nice and helpful and made some great recommendations. I definitely suggest leaving space for dessert because their little dulce de leche dark chocolate cakes with the horchata ice cream was beyond amazing! The perfect end to a great meal 👌🏾

Daisy Gutierrez: Food was good. Not great but good. The service was great! This wine was my fave. A little overpriced only because I feel at those prices the food should taste better. They have a great selection though! I had the seafood paella it lacked flavor. My friend had some green rice thing, neither of us raved about our main courses. The patatas bravas are good but could use more of the brava sauce.

andrew: Super cute place, spacious and fun! Had dinner here with some friends on a Friday night. We made reservations for 630pm and was seated inside at one of their booths. We started off with biscuits, cooked Oysters, deviled eggs, and giant prawn as our appetizers. The biscuits are a must order item. They’re fresh and warm, and comes with a side of polenta spread. Every bite melts in your mouth. The Oysters were good and had a nice flavor. You couldn’t “taste” the sea. Both the prawn and deviled eggs were pretty standard. A bit boring and standard in taste. I had the steak as my main course, along with a side of broccoli and baked potatoes. Steak was medium and full of flavor in every bite. The broccoli was just okay, and worked as a side going along with something that had more flavor. The baked potatoes are much like fries, seasoned with herbs. There’s plenty of indoor and outdoor seating, but i still recommend making a reservation. They have some great large, private booth areas outside to accommodate guests during the pandemic. I sure hope they get to keep it all up for a while. Parking can be tough in the area on busy nights and weekends, but the Union Market parking lot should work. Service was fast and friendly.

Evita Pass: I took my nephew here for his post-prom brunch and we loved it. He had the Bodega breakfast sandwich and I had steak and eggs which had a perfectly cooked medium steak that came with a side of their deliciously crispy potatoes. Get the heritage bacon when you order becasue it's thick salty goodness is worth it!!!

Mike Ragsdale: Incredible steak in a fun, relaxing atmosphere. Feels like a neighborhood bar where I wish I was a regular, yet packs the punch of a 5 star steakhouse in the menu and wine list. The grilled mushrooms are the best I've ever had, and I don't like mushrooms.

Cyriac Edappully: The service and our server were excellent. However the food was just okay. Came here with high expectations after going to La diplomat. The ribeye was good but not great. We also tried the skate wing which was something we've never tried before. Unfortunately we could only taste the seasoning on the skate wing. So I couldn't really say how it's supposed to really taste like. The Bobo chicken was also just okay. Same goes for the New York strip. The best dishes there were probably the lamb steak and the biscuits. The sides were also quite good.

Jean Ng: The atmosphere is great. Lots of outdoor booth tables and inside decor is a mashed up of someone’s luxury cabin with a touch of industrial. While the decor is interesting and the service was good, the food was just ok. I read that other patrons was raving about the butcher’s steak but mine came out a little chewy although cooked to my request of medium rare. We both find that the pan fried potato was a little too herby for our taste. One thing for sure we both love the rich ice cream cake that put a sweet note in the end of our meal. I do believe in second chance, we will be back next time. Theres some dishes I would like to try like the baby iceberg and ax handle ribeye.

Bobbi DeAnda: Oh my gosh. So glad we went to this place! Such a cool vibe. We were able to get in with no reservation - sitting at the chefs counter - which totally worked for us. Our server was very attentive and the service was very quick! The food…OH MY GOSH! That ribeye is up there with one of the best steaks I’ve ever had. Such a fun date night. We will be back! Also, each plate is unique and you get a postcard with the check!

ESB NYC: Cool place in Union Market. Kind of an old school steak house with a modern vibe. Excellent service. I had the draft Vieux Carré cocktail, $14, pretty tasty. We shared the blue crab deviled eggs ($14) and the oyster appetizer at $19 for 6 cooked oysters. My husband had the butcher steak which was $34 and flavorful but pretty tough. I had the rockfish entree (also $34), nice piece of fish in a mussel cream sauce. A little fishy for my taste (freshwater fish) from the Potomac, lol?! We shared the fried mashed potatoes and creamed spinach sides. We shared the ice cream cake dessert, I think it was $11. Tasty but just a little rich after a fairly heavy meal. All in all, expensive but pretty good.

Joe Dominick: Without a doubt the best meal I've ever had. I went a couple of years ago while in DC for a conference. I had some sort of prefixed chef's tasting menu that had 7 or 8 courses, all paired with wine. it was amazing and I can't wait to go back. The first course was almost too much for me to try. I usually don't eat raw meat, and the first course was a raw oyster topped with wagyu beef tartare, then topped again with caviar. While I was not used to the texture, the flavor was absolute art. The seafood, meat, sides, sauces, all the way to the garnish was all masterful and delicious. It took several people to create, present, and deliver the meal to the table. It was like watching a show unfold. The server was very knowledgeable about everything served and we were lucky he was also a sommelier. This made it even more interesting as he presented the wine that was served with each course. I can't recommend this place enough. It was just honored as the #2 Italian restaurant in the world that's outside of Italy. Do yourself a favor and go ready to spend whatever it takes to get the full experience.

Every dish was delicious. Some of our favorites were the Eggplant Mousse, Langoustine, Childhood(Pasta), Farmers Steak(Wagyu)& the Sweet Beginnings(Pumpkin Spice "Latte," Honeynut Squash Gelato). It felt like by the end of the night we must of had 15+ dishes. Oh and the cocktails! Such an experience. Highly recommend ordering their specialty cocktails. It is like nothing you’ve experience before! Super creative & fun. Needless to say, you definitely get your moneys worth and will not leave hungry or unhappy. It was an amazing experience and we can’t wait to go back next time we’re in D.C.!

Manuj Bhandari: It's the best Italian restaurant in the DMV. Every dish is perfect. Definitely try the scampi, steak, Branzino, tortellini or the risotto. Can't go wrong with any of the dessert choices.

Hazel Sun: The yurt experience was beautiful. The design of the dishes, taste, and presentation were all creative and thoughtful. Also the portion sizes are very generous. The food itself was good, not amazing considering the price. But consider everything it’s worth the ticket. My favorite part was the pasta, mind-blowing. Not so impressed with my pork chop entry. The chickpea part was amazing, the pork itself was a bit boring.

Stacey King: Start to finish, a great experience with the tasting menu. But we were not as thrilled with the wine pairing. For $150 each we got 5 maybe 2-3 oz pours. And we were only delighted by one of the wines. But the service was outstanding.

Dylan Prévost: Absolutely delightful celebration of spring. Fiola focuses heavily on local and seasonal produce, highlighting their selections in their written and spoken descriptions. The yurt was beautifully adorned, with good heating and options for ventilation, and came with its own little speaker, playing tasteful international music. Overall, we loved the atmosphere and the stunning diversity of the courses. Presentation of the dishes was clearly important to the chefs, truly eye candy when it arrives. The service was excellent and I was delighted to be offered a complementary dessert, based on the occasion we were celebrating. While we were impressed with most of the dishes, some fell short of excellence. Winners: the amouse bouche, seafood broth spaghetti antipasto, calabrian chili gremolata, au jus served in a burnt onion Less satisfied: dry/firm entree meats, a tiramisu whose chocolateyness was much too overpowering (despite its otherwise fun and novel style choices)

David Thomson: Best staff anywhere. Most of the courses were perfectly balanced. The peach and heirloom tomato gazpacho was my favorite.

Tulsi: We had an amazing late birthday celebration at Fiola. They went above and beyond to make the evening special and memorable. The cupcakes they made for the occasion were the best we could remember - to die for. Whoever is running the pastry/baking and pastas knows what they’re doing! The seafood and cheese courses were also a highlight. Will def be back to try new items from their a la carte and wine list! Thank you to everyone involved in our meal ❤️🙂.

Alexander O'Neill: Whether for an anniversary, birthday, or date night, Chez Billy Sud is the perfect place to celebrate. A small French bistro in Georgetown, this restaurant has an intimate atmosphere well reflected in its dishes. Every dish on their menu is a winner and you simply cannot go wrong. The poultry dishes are excellent, and I’d recommend pairing with a bottle of wine. The sommelier is hilarious and went above and beyond to help us decide on a pairing.

Besart Ç.: Took my parents here for graduation dinner. Arguably one of the best restaurants in all of DC – and definitely #1 in Georgetown. Everything was so delicious that we had to order a three course meal. Must try: appetizer- Foie de Volaille; main- Confit de Canard (one of the best ever); dessert- can't go wrong with any but we got the Rote au Fromage Basquaise. Drinks: their espresso martini is the most unique, and of the tastiest, I've ever tried. I believe the secret is the coco liquor they use.

The Soup: Salt Bombs and Burnt Dessert. Onion Soup: Salt Bomb Pork Rillettes: Salt Bomb Fries on the Steak Frites: Salt Bombs Salt is suppose to be a flavor enhancer, not a tongue desiccant. All of that would have been tolerable, if not for dessert. A lot of water helped balance out the rest. My guest (whose birthday we were celebrating) wanted to try a slice of cheesecake. When we asked our wait-person "what kind of cheesecake?" They responded, "Chef's secret". The secret happened to be char. I don't care how much powdered sugar or orange zest you put on a piece of charcoal, it will still taste like ash. When we were asked, "How was your dessert? I stated, "Well, it was burnt". Their response was a giggling, "Yeah, I'm sorry." Look at the picture, we scooped out the dry cheesecake and left the char. It is a disgusting amount of burnt surface. Trash. Do better.

Diana Milena Lopez Avila: Amazing good & service. We ordered the leeks vinaigrette for appetizer and the poulet rôti for main course. For dessert we ordered the tarte au fromage. Everything was absolutely amazing.

Jannat Nain: Just left chez billy and I feel compelled to write this review. We stopped by without a reservation and were accommodated by the staff. The staff was extremely friendly and knowledgeable. Torrence (hope I got the name right!) was an excellent server and made sure we were comfortable the entire time. The food was absolutely delicious and exceeded our expectations. We ordered the gnocchi special, the duck, the chicken and the buccatini. The dessert was good too. The ambience was really nice as well. We will be back here again!

Hope Greenleaf: Really cool place! You’ll find a great happy hour, yummy food and drinks, and a fun and knowledgeable staff. The restaurant itself is really cute. There is a little courtyard between two buildings. I prefer to sit at the beautiful wooden bar in the right hand side building. I don’t remember the bartender’s name but he was witty and kind. I definitely recommend Chez Billy Sud!

Jeff Luttrell: RTR is a pretty good place for dinner before a show at the Kennedy Center. The restaurant has the classic aesthetic of the Kennedy Center with beautiful views from the terrace outside the restaurant. The staff were friendly enough though our waiter didn't talk with us too much. Food service was quick which is to be expected for those going to performances. The quality of the food is okay. All of our entrees were hot but just okay taste wise. Pretty good selection for vegetarians and the fish choices are nice too! We'll come back and try it again as we go to the KC often.

Ron Milkowski: I have never been to the Kennedy Center and had no idea that there even was a restaurant. What a very nice dining experience. Santo our waiter was very knowledgeable with the food and drinks. It is a bit pricey but worth it. Even if you are not going to an event I highly recommend checking it out.

Anusha Chatterjee: Wonderful bar service! The food was so good. Had the tuna carpaccio and the salmon. Both were absolutely perfect! Lovely seasonal Cocktails. Perfect stop before or after the show. The bar has the full menu, so no reservations were needed. Lovely intimate vibe.

Craig Herrick: We’ve been here a number of times over the years though this was the first visit in two years. The Terrace has upped their game. My lamb chops and wife’s fillet would go over well in any finer local venue. The service was prompt and professional and based around our show time. Terrace maintains most of its vintage (60’s) vibe which is what I like about it.

Stu: Read some negative reviews before going to the Roof Terrace restaurant, and had some concerns. I will say that this was a lovely place and a rather elegant atmosphere. The food was fine- especially the seasoned fries. Delicious! We each had a fish dish, which at nearly forty dollars each I found to be drastically overpriced. Even at ten dollars less it would have been overpriced. Yet the meals were tasty, though not very filing. They came with the tiniest bit of vegetables. The service was excellent, and my concerns about inattentive service or being rushed were proven false. In all, it is a very nice place to go that is the ultimate in convenience if you are going to a Kennedy Center performance. But you pay for that convenience in very high restaurant prices. Would I return? Probably, but this is not a place I'd be able to afford very often.

John Darden: The steaks were cooked just right. Our waiter was polite and make our evening more enjoyable. The lobster mash potatoes had plenty of lobster meat; however, it was oily. If you like lemon drops then you should definitely try theirs because of the taste and presentation. The shrimp in the shrimp cocktail were huge. We had added crab meat to one of the steaks; however, we felt as though the restaurant could have included more meat relative to the cost of the dish but it was good. You can pay your bill using your phone. That was a nice touch (no need to wait for someone to come back to you) We plan on coming back.

Jaela Ford: This review is strictly for the waitress named Nicole. We would have given 5 stars if she did not taint our experience in the beginning. We were told by the hostess that she would be our “wonderful” waitress. She also came over to bring us menus and ask our water preference as if she was our waitress. However, for some odd reason the waiter was switched. When she was acting as our waitress, she was extremely short when answering our questions & seemed as though she did not want to be bothered. She also never introduced herself. We had to ask our new waiter for her name. There was absolutely nothing positive about her. It was as if she had pre judged us just because we were a table of young black women. Thankfully, our new waiter Phillip came over and saved the night. He was super welcoming and helpful. He answered all of our questions with a smile. His customer service was top tier! The drinks and food were also amazing! Thank you Phillip!

Junaid O: Definitely one of the best restaurants in DC. Went to Mastro's for my cousins birthday dinner, reserved the private room downstairs(check with the team for availability). We got there about an hour and a half before closing, yet they were very patient with us. The shrimp cocktail and Woodford Manhattan were excellent. Tried some of the other appetizers from the table and everything tested pretty well. For the main course I had the Rack of Lamb, didn't disappoint at all. Dessert was no different as well, the butter cake was the highlight for sure. Highly recommend!

Jennifer Driggers Driggers Group Real Estate: Our family ate here for New Year's Eve 2021 on our trip to D.C. We thoroughly enjoyed the food the atmosphere and the service. The Wagyu steak was definitely worth the money. The lobster mac n cheese and garlic mashed potatoes were great along with the Bacon and sau'teed shrimp appetizers. For desert definitely must try the warm butter cake. Wish we had a Mastro's closer to home. We will definitely go back!!

Mark Blanchard: Food was great, but service was a little slow. It took more than 20 minutes for out server to acknowledge us and get us a beverage. The table next to us was annoying. It was 4 people Facetiming someone the entire time we were there, and on speaker. I'm all about sharing memories with loved ones, but use earphones please! It's rude to other customers otherwise. The restaurant also made a mistake on our bill but later corrected it. Overall a good experience, but could be better given the price.

David Anderson: Excellent service and a wonderfully prepared meal. From the cheese board and salad with roasted pumpkin and cranberry to our main dishes - Bouillabaisse and Steak Frittes...all of it was extremely tasty. The steak was a perfect medium rare and tender. Great wine list and our pre-dinner cocktails were also very tasty. All around a great experience.

Arnold: Nice atmosphere and vibe, went for brunch. Food was okay, I thought the steak could have been more tender. Oddly enough, my favorite dish was the escargot appetizer. If you're doing brunch, go with the 3 course for $35, it's a good value.

Edward O'Beirne: This was fine dining as advertised. Service was impeccable and very friendly. Water glass never half empty, which is my litmus test for attentive waitstaff. The food was extremely well-prepared with skill, arrived very hot. The best French onion soup I’ve ever had. In particular, the cheese did not glop up in the throat like some, and you know what I mean. Very tasty. The setting was refined and romantic. This was our 17th anniversary and we were very pleased. Would definitely return.

Anna S: Lillies was not only yummy, but the service was fantastic, even with it being NYE and only having 2 wait staff(that I saw). Everyone really enjoyed their meals: lobster raviolis, chicken Marsala, Tour of Italy, and the lamb! The lamb was some of the best that I have had in a really long time. Thelma S: Such a huge fan of Italian food and this did not dissapoint! Love the fact that you could taste how fresh the food was. Also love that it’s a small family owned restaurant but also very intimate setting. Only gave a 4 because when we arrived service was a slow but then we were rushed when the restaurant was closing. Overall great food and good pricing. The tiramisu was also made fresh so I loved it!

Bob Gottschling: We stopped off at the restaurant for an early dinner after the Zoo closed on a Saturday. We sat outside in the area facing the street. They have another outside area around the side. The service and food were terrific! I had the mushroom ravioli, others had eggplant, chicken and crab dishes. All was good! Just a nice spot to go for an enjoyable meal and experience. There is, of course, an indoor area you can eat. Very nice inside for those who don’t want to be outside. Certainly recommend this spot!

Dottie Mallon: I visited here a few months ago and gave it 5 stars but went back last night and changed my rating. They post things on social media and website and outdoor board promoting specials but when you get there, the rude male server flat out tells you-No we don’t do that anymore. (This is the same server that wouldn’t honor my email coupon the first time I was there!) When you point out that it’s advertised then the manager says ok we can do it for you and secretly hands you the special menu. The quality of the food wasn’t what it was 6 months ago either. My review from September 2021: This will be one of my favorite stops when visiting DC! Lovely Italian restaurant and the staff were the friendliest anywhere. I had the very reasonably priced happy hour wine and the waitress helped me select my dinner and customized it for me. Linguini and clams in a pink sauce. The bread is served with an amazing pomegranate vinegar. There is also outdoor seating but the ambiance inside is very nice!

Patrick Campbell: What a wonderful family owned restaurant. They are located away from most of the NW restaurants but I believe it was worth the trip. The service was really friendly and the drinks were really good. The food was fresh, hot and delicious. The atmosphere was also great.

Ahmadski HaHa: Beautifully decorated indoor dinning area. Given the circumstances, service was fast n professional. The waitress opened up once we started talking to her. London fish n chips were tasty, the date salad was on point (hint: the dressing is very tangy) and the kids chicken tender was yummy. The fried calamari was a bit tender and chewy for my tasting. Overall the restaurant was clean, including the bathrooms. Well run restaurant!

Ranna Gay: My husband and I had a date night here and really enjoyed it. Started with the lemoncello and Manhattan, great drinks. Loved the perfect antipasto since it gave us a selection of Mussels, Calamari, Bruschetta, Shrimp, Mozzarella And Capris Salad. The carbonara with shrimp was also amazing. Loved the garlic bread too. Enjoyed their Eggplant Milanese with all the cheese on top. Cozy ambiance and very nice owners!
