Evan Anthony: We hired Sam as the photographer for our wedding in Haymarket, VA, and he was simply amazing and a true professional. Sam photographed our engagement session as well as the wedding. Working with him for our engagement shoot, and seeing the results only furthered our excitement to work with Sam for our wedding. It is hard to put into words how happy we are after working with him. One thing that we love about Sam is his amazing eye for phenomenal shots. This is very evident after looking through his work. We decided to work with Sam after a phone call where we learned more about him, and expressed the vision for our wedding. In addition to shots after the ceremony, Sam brought us outside for pictures during sunset, as well as moonlit pictures towards the end of the night. We feel that Sam goes above and beyond in his work. He is truly talented, and a pleasure to work with. We highly recommend Sam if you are looking for a photographer for your event
The Mbimbas: We had the best time during our engagement session with Sam! We were so nervous, but his calm presence made us so comfortable and we were laughing the whole time. He was professional and on time even though he had to drive all the way to Delaware! We love our photos so much and cannot wait for him to shoot our big day. We had to reschedule our wedding because of Covid and chose a date based on Sam’s availability - that’s how much we love his work. He really is an artist. His use of crystals, “ring of fire” and other techniques create such stunning images. I am editing my review because our wedding occurred and it was the best day ever! Sam was so calm and professional. The day went perfectly and I am so excited to see the photos from sunset. Throughout this wedding procession he has quickly and calmly answered all of my questions without getting frustrated. He truly is a gem! If you are looking for colorful, unique photos and a chill, but extremely talented photographer, this is your guy!
Elena Kwon: He is truly "the photographer's photographer"! His work is unique and uncommon in the NYC area, but I was fortunate that he was easily able to come to New York. He was the first vendor I booked, since it's the photos that remain after the day flies by. I had been a fan of Sam's work for many years and have never seen a photograph that I did not like. He is known for his use of natural light, prisms, and lenses to create art from candid moments of love and laughter. We were able to easily schedule our engagement shoot during one of his visits to NYC and got to spend time getting to know him. Sam is incredibly laid back and easy going... We felt like he was an old friend we were catching up with. My husband and I were able to relax during our engagement shoot and let him do his magic. I had a special yoga pose that I wanted to do which he was more than happy to shoot. As the wedding day approached, Sam was able to give me advice and reassurance regarding wedding planing and it was such a relief to see him on the wedding day. Amidst the craziness of the wedding, he was a calming spirit that I was grateful to have around. We received both our engagement and wedding photos within a month and received over 1000 wedding photos. We had difficulty choosing which ones to use for our album, since there were so many awesome photos. My only regret was not getting a photo with him at the end of the evening. He is a true gem!
Sara Modlin: Wow! What an incredible find! So lucky to have found the PERFECT wedding photographer for our wedding. Throughout our planning process with COVID, Sam was always extremely responsive. On the wedding day, Sam was extremely chill and our wedding party informed us of how much they enjoyed working with him. Sometimes, people may find photos overwhelming but Sam’s experience wasn’t at all. It was easy and enjoyable. Sam shocked us by finding a hidden gem of a location to take our wedding photos. We didn’t even think of this spot. There wasn’t much greenery at our location, and somehow he found a gorgeous area full of trees and perfect lighting. Sam is extremely talented. His photos are not the boring wedding photos that all look the same. His photos have so much character and color. He’s great at not only capturing candid moments, but also great at photographing the wedding decor (flowers, etc). He really impressed us with how many different photos he was able to take during the ceremony & reception. Would highly recommend!! .

Most importantly his photo shoot sessions during our wedding ended up being my favorite part of the whole affair. Aimee Kneiss: Sam's work speaks for itself. His images capture the wedding day perfectly, and doing an engagement photo session with him was a great way to get to know him! When looking for a photographer, my husband and I couldn't find any images that resonated with us - until we saw Sam's work. Sam not only makes sure to capture some gorgeous portrait shots (it's a wedding, after all), but his candids from the dance floor and of the day itself are our favorites. He's fun to shoot with, and as I told him after the wedding, an absolute calming force in the craziness that is the wedding day. He's always on time, quick to email back, great with giving directions for photos, and is just a fantastic person to be around. On your wedding day, it's important to really like your photographer - you'll be spending a lot of time together! Not only is Sam an incredibly talented photographer, but he's got an unbelievable turnaround rate. We had our engagement pictures within two weeks and our wedding pictures within four, which is pretty much unheard of! If we had to book Sam again, we'd do it in a heartbeat. He's worth every.single.penny.

He really captured the emotions and story of our wedding day and I truly love our photos. He gave great direction during portraits which put my husband and me at ease. Meghan Coakley: Sam is an amazing photographer. Not only does he take wonderful pictures, but he also does a great job of putting albums together to really tell the story of your wedding day. My husband and I were living in Spain when we got married, and Sam was extremely flexible with shooting the Engagement Photos and took great care to make sure everything was ready for our day. He also helped us pose for the pictures since we were not very good at it while at the same time capturing those natural moments that really illustrated our love. He also got the pictures to us quickly because he knew how excited we were to see them and relive everything. I recommend him to every person I know that is getting married because everything was perfect.

When we booked Kirth to shoot our engagement and wedding photos, he made it his priority to get to know us a couple more, our story, and how we would like our memories to be curated. Cassidy is certain to make you feel comfortable, give you the proper direction and prompting, and turn out a high-quality set of photos every time. Highly recommend!
Catherine Olexa-Meadors: Cassidy was our wedding photographer in July 2019. He is professional, funny and extremely talented. Our photos are absolutely beautiful, and he captured all of the most important moments. I loved his emphasis on capturing candid moments of joy and emotion along with creative takes on more traditional shots. Cassidy was a pleasure to work with, and I would recommend him to anyone!
Chris Tran: Upon starting our planning process, my now wife Kate and I agreed that photography would be a top priority for us. While Cassidy was one of our bigger investments, he was worth every penny and more! Kate and I cannot rave enough about Cassidy, his overall approach and the final results enough! Cassidy was friendly and flexible in agreeing to a multi-location engagement shoot. While we don't generally feel comfortable being the center of attention, Cassidy made us feel completely at ease during the shoot and kept the vibe loose, fun and lighthearted. Best of all, we received a full set of edited photos within 7-days! The turnaround time was really astonishing to say the least. I have an extremely large family (over 100+ on my side alone) so family photos were bound to be a logistical hurdle. Given Cassidy's experience, he was able to help us pare down our overly extensive shot list to maximize efficiency and to ensure that no family member was left out of the picture. He even provided non-photography related advice that helped clean up our wedding day timeline, providing valuable insights to a few things that we and even our planner had overlooked. If you hire Cassidy—just know that you are getting so much more than an amazing photographer, but also an incredible project manager who can just help your make your wedding day that much easier and enjoyable! His portfolio speaks for itself but Kate and I were over the moon when we received our wedding collection yesterday, less than five weeks after our wedding. He and his assistant Chris worked almost completely unnoticed during the wedding and captured the most beautiful moments from our wedding day. Even though we had agreed to stick to our shot list, Cassidy constantly checked in with us throughout the day to make sure we were happy and weren't missing out on any last-minute shots that we wanted. Cassidy is hands-down the best investment we made with our wedding and cannot recommend him enough!
Karen Love Guiffre: Cassidy goes above and beyond to deliver amazing quality photographs and to support his clients. When the pandemic hit the week before our wedding, Cassidy was incredibly flexible and accommodating. We decided to do a small ceremony in a park by our house, and Cassidy was not just our photographer but our only guest...a big responsibility he did not take lightly. He showed up to the park on time (in a freaking pandemic), and cheered us on while we said our vows. His photos were amazing and captured the bittersweet moments of wedding in a pandemic. We are so grateful for his love, support, and awesome documentation of this totally bizarre event. It's also worth mentioning that Cassidy's photos from our wedding were so good, his shots were featured on Forbes.com, Washingtonian Weddings, and in JMore magazine. 100% will use him for our second wedding (which is a lot sooner than we expected, hahah).

Rachel Allen: I can't recommend Cassidy highly enough -- he's got the magic combination of the technical expertise, artistic eye, and ability to see who you really are and translate that over into amazing photos. As a small business owner who does a lot of one on one work with clients, my photos are the face of my business, so it's really important that they not only look great, they also reflect who I am. I've had pics before that were just fine. But I never really felt like any truly captured my personality ... until now. Cassidy absolutely blew me away on all counts. The pics not only look gorgeous, they feel like me -- and my clients, family, and oldest friends all say the same. Plus, Cassidy's a dream to work with. He knew I was a little nervous about the shoot, so he graciously agreed to meet me beforehand to talk through my concerns and goals for the shoot. On the day of the shoot, it felt like I was just hanging out chatting with a really entertaining friend. Even the process of choosing the pics after the shoot was way better than I'd even experienced, Cassidy's elimination game was both really clever and made it really easy to choose the best pics out of the many, many great ones from the shoot. Hillah Culman: I initially made an appointment with Cassidy to have professional head shots taken. For personal reasons, I ultimately asked him to shoot an entire portfolio for me. I was impressed that his elegant photos captured so many different aspects of me, especially strength, femininity, focus, and ability. Since then, I've recommended him to all of my friends & family.
Jordan Plieskatt: First encountered Cassidy while looking for a wedding photographer a years ago. There was something about the aesthetic of his photos that caught our eye. Flash forward to the wedding day, we could not have been more satisfied with how comfortable and fun he made our wedding day (He also provided a good buffer between us and the "other vendors" that were making the day not so fun, sneaking us off location for some fun photos and allowing my wife and I a few moments to just enjoy the day). Flash forward two years later, as my consulting career was budding - I decided it was time to actually get a good photo of myself after companies would often ask for a photo to accompany the article about myself or my work. I decided to give the best and most fun photographer a ring, not ever expecting I'd need "Head shots" and being intimidated by that a bit for little 'ol me. Another fun photoshoot later, a few different "looks" later and I had a contact sheet with too many favorites. Not a bad place to be. I let Cassidy select his favorites and I mine, and attached is a selection of the results. I couldn't be happier and will actually call upon him periodically to help keep my look fresh and current. If you want a great photographer, that makes a photoshoot fun, has a great eye and provides just enough "post processing" to give the photos an artistic feel, but not over processed looked - I'd give Cassidy a ring. Also if its your first shot or 20th, I think he'll capture what you're looking for.
Stuart Guillory: When I realized my work headshot was out of date and didn't really look like me anymore, I reached out to Cassidy to take some new headshots. He was super responsive and scheduled me ASAP. The shoot was fun; Cassidy made me feel at ease and the photos show that. The headshots turned out great and show the right mix of professionalism balanced with my personality for headshots that look real. We even took a few more casual shots for my social media because why not? And they turned out great too! All the photos were edited and emailed to me really quickly after the shoot. I'm very happy with the way the photos turned out and the overall process. I'd highly recommend Cassidy!
Ari Shapiro: When I decided to do a solo cabaret show, I needed publicity photos. Cassidy knew exactly where to go, walked me through the experience like a pro, and took these pics, which I used for shows in NY, DC, and Portland, OR. Shira Broms: In April of 2021 we worked with Jessica for the third time. Our 5 year old daughter immediately opened up, but our 2 year old son was much more reserved since it was a year into the pandemic and he really hadn't interacted with anyone outside of our immediate family in so long. We trusted Jessica knowing that even though it felt like he hardly smiled at all during out time together that she had captured a few pictures we could frame. It was even better than we expected - she got so many great shots that we were able to create a new gallery wall. She is exceptionally good at catching moments between our family members especially the love between our kids. We have a new addition in our family and can't wait to work with her again!

Rebecca Murow: Jessica has been photographing our family for almost seven years, and each session is more impressive than the one before. She has taken us to beautiful settings around the city, but my favorite photos came from our pandemic newborn session. Because of Covid, I was afraid we wouldn't be able to have newborn photos taken, but Jessica assured us she would find a way. She uniquely, creatively, and safely captured our new family of five on the front steps of our home, and the final photos were perfect. Our three kids all adore Jessica; she always has tricks up her sleeve to make them laugh, and that shows in the many smiling photos we have at the end (even when I think there is no way she could have found a single moment when all five of us were smiling at the same time). In addition to her professionalism and efficiency during the photo sessions, Jessica also makes herself available in advance to answer questions about outfits, locations, best timing, etc. We highly recommend Jessica and look forward to our next session with her!

Sara Stesis: Jess worked with us to do a maternity shoot. She was so fun to work with and got us laughing naturally so that our pictures looked like "us". We loved some of the candid moments she got of the two of us before we became the three of us. Jess is professional easy to work with and talented behind the camera. We loved working with her so much we are going to work with her again for our family photos now that little man has joined us.
Seth Shapiro: Jessica is so wonderful to work with, and her pictures are absolutely amazing! My wife and I organized a photo shoot for our baby boy and his two older cousins. Jessica was amazing with the kids. They weren't in the best mood to start the day, but Jessica got them all smiling and happy. So many of the pictures she's taken are lining the walls in our families' houses. Our son's grandparents, aunts and uncles all love the pictures we send to them. We are so grateful to have these memories, and we will absolutely be scheduling more photo shoots with Jessica soon.
Shannon Bishop-Green: We were so impressed with Jessica, who took newborn photos of our baby in February 2022! Her talent shines in her photos, she was incredibly personable during the visit, and she sent helpful information in advance so we knew exactly how to plan (ranging from what to wear to how to clear our space for the best background). Jessica knew exactly how to direct us (which wasn't much, as her photo aesthetic is very casual and not posed -- which we loved) and when we needed a quick break. She wore a mask around us and our baby the entire time to avoid spreading any germs, which was much appreciated. Like others have said, we were thrilled with the photo options she shared and had trouble narrowing down for the birth announcement because there were just so many great photos. Highly recommend working with Jessica!
Marne Marotta: Jessica is just amazing with kids. She somehow manages to keep my VERY active kids engaged and she always manages to get amazing shots. We’ve had other photographers that were good, but none compare to Jessica. Not only are the sessions enjoyable (even with a 2 and 4 year old), we end up with so many great pictures. Truly, the hardest part is figuring out which pictures to frame!

Jon Haines: Jessica is an incredibly talented photographer, and AMAZING with kids. I had not realized just how much work it is to keep an 8 month old smiling and attentive during a photo session, but Jessica brought the energy required (at 8 in the morning on a cold day in the park, mind you) to capture our kid at his best. We could not be more pleased with her work and plan to use her for our annual family photos in the future.

Lisa L: WOW! Just WOW! Had to schedule a graduation photo shoot from Texas for my daughter in DC. Not only did Damon make every step so easy but after talking with him on the phone and getting to know him a bit I was even more excited to work with him. He is exceptional...Literally, no other way to describe him. His work style, sense of humor, creativity, patience, you name it are all incredible. The pics we received were outstanding too! Keep in mind that we had no easy task for him... juggling a blended family, a morning when bad weather threatened and a senior pup, he juggled it all effortlessly and made for one of the best and most fun photo sessions I have ever been a part of. I had initially chosen Damon based on the ratings on here and boy they did not let me down. If you are looking for someone with imagination, great communication and a fantastic eye for capturing a special moment in your life book Damon now!!! You will NOT regret it! I knew he was the photographer I wanted to work with for my organization when I submitted a quote, and he in return called me and we talked for about 20 minutes about great advocacy looking locations in DC! Iris Hinh: My partner and I were looking for a photographer in Washington, D.C. to capture our graduation photos. I initially found Damon's website on Google and loved the variety of photographs that have been shared on the platform. I contacted Damon via email and phone call to ask questions, and he was very responsive and friendly. It rained the evening before the photoshoot, and the cherry blossoms weren't as lively as we had hoped. Damon contacted us to share his thoughts on the best locations near the mall, including proposing the Smithsonian garden. Damon was patient and kept the whole shoot fun. We really enjoyed the whole experience. From the onset, the contract, details, and follow-up were straight forward very professional. This was our first time taking photos with a photographer, and we would highly recommend him for any and all photography needs!
Brittany Kademian: I'm so glad we booked a cherry blossoms mini session with Damon! He's super down to earth, is great with young kids since he has some of his own, and even gave us a full hour taking great photos instead of the 20 minutes we expected. There were so many good photos that I had a hard time choosing which pictures to keep, and just ended up buying them all. Heather Lorenzo: This was our first time taking photos as a family of four and we loved working with Damon! He was very responsive ahead of time, giving us tips about what to bring and where to be and when. I was nervous about picking the right photographer because I have toddler twins - one who is shy around new people and another who'd rather play tag than sit for a photo (not to mention a camera shy dad). Based on great word of mouth from the other mothers in my neighborhood, I chose Damon and I am so glad I did. He made my kids totally comfortable and he knew exactly where to get the best shots around the Capitol so everyone was engaged and had fun. Shikha Chaurasia: We had our engagement photoshoot with Mantas, and it went fantastically! He made it easy for us to be ourselves, and we felt the pictures managed to capture not just us, but our personalities. This lended itself to a rather unique invitation that we were happy with (the back included a picture of us chasing some geese). Our photoshoot was in a garden on a sunny day, I was wearing my favorite yellow dress… the photos are so wonderfully colorful! And yet one of our favorites happened to be a black and white one, I guess he’s just that good. Mantas also makes very creative use of the “props” available (geese that happened to be around, chairs that happened to be empty, an interesting perspective taken through a welcome sign that happened to be there). Definitely would recommend him!

Sarah Holcomb: My husband and I initially chose Adam Mason as our photographer because of his unique photography style. His incorporation of rich color and skill for capturing incredible candid moments stands apart from the typical bright, more washed out and posed style that we've seen with other wedding photography. He did not disappoint as our photos look incredible and unlike any others that we've seen. Adam was also an absolute pleasure to work with as he was responsive, flexible with our COVID related date change, and delivered us both our engagement and wedding photos within record time. Adam is also super friendly and upbeat and was able to put us at ease behind the camera. Even our guests commented on how friendly, professional and efficient he was on our big day. He provided helpful tips for wedding planning in general and was close friends with our other vendors due to his experience in the market. I recommended Adam to one of my bridesmaids who was getting married a few months after we did, and after she saw how beautiful our photos are and how nice Adam was the day of, he's now her photographer as well. If you are a couple who is less than comfortable being in front of the camera, Adam will not only make you feel comfortable, but you will genuinely enjoy the process. Adam's down to earth attitude, humor and kindness really added love to our day. His images were so special, I don't know how he captured the authenticity and beauty in every person we loved but he did. His photographs of candids are really a treasure as they caught each person we knew in these hidden beautiful moments. We can't say enough good things about his work or working WITH him.
Steph Elechko Hesseltine: We stumbled across Mason Photography through Instagram, and were immediately impressed with his ability to capture natural looking posed photography! Through our conversations from afar, meetings in person, engagement session, and wedding day, we felt so comfortable and well taken care of. The Wedding Guide? GENIUS. Sent to us once we decided on Mason Photography, we were now equipped with a small magazine with answers to all the questions we would think of along the way.. "When would our day actually start?" "When should we do our engagement shoot?" "Should we do a first look?" "We want some epic sunset/sunrise pics, how can we plan our day of schedule accordingly?". All the details, they've thought of through their almost 10 years of experience in wedding photography. For the questions that weren't included in this Guide, Adam was incredibly responsive and able to help immediately. Turnaround on pictures was unbelievable -- 2 weeks-- and we are over the moon with the moments that Adam was able to capture for us. Gabrielle Crowe: Adam was awesome to work with from day 1. Super responsive and detail oriented - he even helped us map out where to take our photos throughout the city and had great suggestions. He also has excellent vendor reccs if you are looking for a DJ, venue, hair/makeup/etc. Above all, he made our wedding day even more fun - all of our photos came out with genuine laughs and smiles because Adam made it a super fun experience. Chandra January: Let me tell you about this AMAZING photographer! I was all stressed because I am a TERRIBLE planner! I was only like 2 weeks away from my birthday and wanted to do a 40 and Fabulous shoot with my best friend who just turned 40. Not only did Paco have time to shoot me and my bff before my 40th birthday, but he took some time out of his busy schedule to make sure at least a few of my pics were edited and ready for me for my birthday. And on the day of the shoot, I had the worst luck with my slow MUA, but he was soooo patient with me, and when it came time to shoot, my hard-headed self did NOT do what he asked (take my advice, SHOW EMOTION lol) and STILL, ended with some of the most AMAZING photos I have EVER taken in my life!!! Again, I wish we had met Chris years ago because our wedding photos would have been 100x times better.
Andrew Dunkin: I got a proposal shoot done by Chris and it was a pretty seamless process. I have never been to Washington D.C. before and he made the process stress free. He presented me with a contract which made me feel much more confident I wasn't going to be scammed and communicated with me prior to finalize all the details. He was at the location before I was, made it easy to find him, and took spectacular photos. I would highly recommend Chris to anyone looking to have professional photos taken!
Tyler Herrmann: Chris was a fantastic photographer to work with and capture my big surprise proposal! He was very responsive and very flexible to handle any requests I had. Jennifer Spencer: My fiancé and I found Chris Ferenzi photography after a thorough web search. We liked his style and I was immediately drawn to his work. When I look at his photos I see a fresh perspective; crisp, clean pictures that look real and in the moment. I emailed Chris’ about his service and availability on a late Friday afternoon and he responded in less than two hours! Prior to booking our wedding date, Chris and I spoke over the phone for about an hour. I gave him our background “story,” what we were looking for in a photographer, and of course what type of final products we wanted. I was undecided about how many actual pictures to purchase and if we should order a book, etc., and Chris help walked me through the options and let me make decisions along the way. I greatly appreciated his flexibility and patience. We truly enjoyed working with Chris and we love the final product. His website is simple to use, even my 85 year old mother-in-law easily navigated her way through it to order the photos she wanted. Chris and I are now working on an album and I’ll be ordering a few wall hangings from his site too.
Benedict Bernstein: We could not have been happier with the job Chris did photographing our intimate (8 people) marriage ceremony at Little Pearl in late April, 2021. We gave Chris the nearly impossible task of getting candid photos of us and our family in a small space while also finding a way to not be the 9th guest at our wedding. He did it! Chris's photos perfectly captured just how special and joyful the day was without him distracting from it. And when we spontaneously decided we did want to do some portraits, he knew exactly what to do. Chris was also a great value. A lot of vendors would have upcharged knowing it was a wedding, but Chris rates (for 90 minutes on a Thursday evening) were incredibly fair, especially given all the work he did after editing and touching up the photos. We highly recommend Chris!
Tyler Post: Chris took photos for my proposal to my fiancé. The photos came out perfect in every sense of the word. I had a rough idea of how I wanted the moment captured and Chris worked with me to build the image. His coordination and communication with you to create the image and the planning is outstanding. He goes to great lengths to make sure the moment is everything you want and more. We had a small photo shoot after the proposal and he knows exactly how to capture great images in any setting you’re in.

Ajay Kori: Deeba was incredible! Hired him to capture a surprise proposal and he went above and beyond. The week leading up to the event he helped brainstorm locations for the best photos and opine on strategy. Walking up to our chosen proposal spot, I was initially worried because someone was sitting near where I was going to propose and would be in the shot. Turns out, it was Deeba making sure nobody else got in the area for the perfect proposal. He was so clandestine my fiancee had no idea anything was about to happen until I was on one knee. She was so surprised she never took off her glasses during the actual proposal and he noticed and right after we were done kissing had us quickly re-enact the moment without glasses or her purse. The shot speaks for itself. Would highly, highly recommend for anything important you want to capture in the most beautiful way possible.
Lauren Kuhlik: I would highly recommend Deeba as a wedding photographer! He was extremely easy to work with and very responsive. My partner and I had a very small wedding and did not want too much focus on the formal photographs. Deeba was able to set up a perfect "first look" before the ceremony, got through the formal portraits/family photos quickly, and was able to quietly take photos of the ceremony and post-ceremony celebration, without being in the way at all. All of the photos are extremely "us." He was able to really capture the joy and laughter as well as get some beautiful intimate shots of us and took great photos of our families.

Keith Fierro Benson (Keith): Photography for my wedding was the one thing that I took full responsibility for planning, so I searched quite a bit for the right photographer. Deeba's work stuck out as soon as I saw it. His images are as dynamic as they are intimate and spontaneous. He's got a gifted eye for capturing all the right moments and for accenting the style/size/spirit of the event. A pleasure to work with too, in terms of logistics and professionalism. I highly recommend if you're looking to capture your day in an artful, personal, and candid light, rather than the more stodgy traditional wedding photography style.

Olivia Zhu: Deeba was wonderful to work with. He arrived at the venue early, knew the location very well, and gave us lots of tips on how to set up ahead of time so the photos would turn out best. It was very easy to work out the specific details together, and we were very grateful for his calm demeanor and his expertise. Deeba is clearly a consummate professional. The end result of the photos were also beyond our expectations. Many of the other reviews have noted Deeba's unique and natural style, and I think that goes beyond saying. The photos on his website are a great reflection of what you can expect. We were delighted by the images we received: they don't feel posed or too cheesy. Most importantly, we think they capture us and the spirit of the day very well, and I know we will treasure them forever. (Our families loved them, too.) Deeba made the most of tricky bright, overhead sunlight, and we got a great variety of shots. We are going to happily recommend him to all of our friends in the area!
Katie Foster: We booked Deeba for both our engagement photos and wedding photos. He was amazing from the start. I highly recommend doing engagement photos first because it helped us get to know him better. And the photos are amazing! I have gotten so many compliments on our wedding photos and I love looking at them. It was important to my husband and I to not see each other before the wedding. We met with a few photographers and they told us our timeline and style of photos that we wanted would not work. Deeba listened to us, learned all the family dynamics, and not only accommodated what we wanted (more formal portraits and less cheesy kisses on the forehead), but he fit everything with enough time to spare that we could go to our cocktail hour! At the reception I literally did not know he was there unless guests were dragging me to get a photo taken (Sorry Deeba!). He blended in, and made everyone feel comfortable. If you want a true photo documentary of your big day, chose Deeba. You won't regret it.
itrobertson: Deeba is amazing. Sure, the photos he provided were candid, beautiful, and often stunning, but he also performed above his job description when handling some more unconventional public stops to our limo ride. First, the photos and photography: Deeba was professional, courteous, and arrived exactly when he was supposed to. And throughout the course of the event didn't seem to be anywhere. Absent. Gone. But then we got the photos back. He had melted into the fixtures and, it turns out, was omnipresent. He caught a lot of moments of intimacy and tenderness that we might not have seen otherwise. His product was exactly what we wanted. Second, he went above and beyond. When we left our venue in our limo, we had a narrow window before our costs would jump (based off of additional hours of time): about one hour to capture photos in front of the White House and the Lincoln Memorial and get to the hotel. We hopped into our limo with Deeba on board. But the driver immediately got lost - he turned away from the direction of the White House and drove for a few minutes in the wrong direction before Deeba clued us in - we were not paying attention, being a bit caught up in, well, everything that had just happened. I told the driver we were heading the wrong direction, at which point Deeba jumped in and assumed the role of navigator, getting us to the White House without further problems. After we finished at the White House, we needed to get to the Lincoln Memorial... But the limo driver was missing. He had parked many blocks away (and had no clue how to get back to us). After we had walked about halfway to the limo, my wife's feet could not go further - high heels and the potent combination of adrenaline and total exhaustion could get us no further. Deeba, however, had wisely taken the driver's phone number, called him, and ran off to find him. Next thing we know, the limo pulls up with Deeba already in the back. He was a champion. And the photos... The photos were fantastic, full stop. We have so many excellent memories of the day, and they have now been complemented by an amazing series of photos. Thank you, Deeba. You were awesome.
Hailey Huget: We couldn't be happier with our decision to hire Deeba to shoot our wedding photos! My partner and I usually look extremely awkward/uncomfortable in photos, so we were worried about how our wedding pictures would come out. Jacob Sweitzer: I recently sold my brother's house as his agent in Southern Maryland. I don't do a TON of business in the area but love working there because it's my home. My regular Baltimore/Annapolis area photographer wouldn't travel there. After a lot of research I hired Jay with Zen Lens to do the professional pictures and added on a video walkthrough of the home as well. I was extremely impressed with the quality of the photos and especially the video. The service level was excellent and definitely helped showcase the best features of my brother's home. If you are a real estate agent in the Washington DC Metro area, I highly recommend Jay and Zen Lens to shoot your listings! PS - After I listed my brother's house and the house went under contract, I had surgery and was out of the office for a couple of weeks. Leanna Pomponio: I hired Liz for my DC wedding in August 2018. Liz is extremely responsive, professional, personable, and produces the highest quality photography. I had no idea how much planning goes into the photography portion of the wedding (timeline, shot list, backup weather plans, transportation timing, etc.) and I am so lucky to have had Liz help guide me through this process – she was always a phone call away whenever I needed to run something by her. Liz first did our engagement shoot –Liz was extremely accommodating and rescheduled multiple times to try and catch the DC cherry blossoms at their peak. I am so happy we did the engagement shoot with her first – this allowed us to get to know one another and get used to posing. I’d say it was most important for my now husband who isn’t one to want to take lots of photos – he loved Liz and I felt like he could have kept going with the pictures all day. Now on to the wedding day photos – I’m overwhelmed with which photos to choose for my wedding album because I love them all; she also provides every photo in both color and B&W. Liz made everyone feel comfortable – my family, friends, etc. during the formal shoots outside in front of the Capitol. Whenever I’d start to worry about timeline, Liz eased my nerves and told me that was not my concern and we are on track. Having Liz by my side all day ended up being more beneficial/comforting than my day of coordinator – she even helped us figure out how to bustle my dress when we were struggling. Liz was on a mission to make sure we got all of the photos I requested in my shot list and yet Liz & her assistant photographer were hardly noticeable during the ceremony and reception (which is the way it should be!). I was worried about the reception pictures since it was outside at night with dim lighting but the pictures came out clear and bright. Liz provides first look engagement and wedding photos within a few weeks after the shoot and then full photos a few weeks later – she was never late on any date she told me she would have the photos by. Her online album to view the photos is great and makes it easy to share with others and download the photos in different resolutions. If you are looking for a photographer that takes pride in their work, has a sense of humor, takes the time to get to know you and customize the experience to what is most important to you, and of course – produces stunning high quality photography at a reasonable price– then Liz is your girl.
Kaitlin Bigger: Liz is an incredible photographer, and wonderful person to have on your team as you plan your wedding. She was so supportive when our plans began to change due to the coronavirus pandemic. Liz is professional and prompt, and did an excellent job keeping our wedding on schedule and capturing every meaningful moment. Liz also took our engagement photos at the tidal basin during peak bloom of the cherry blossoms. She captured the natural beauty of that area so perfectly, and made us feel very comfortable in front of her camera. We will cherish those photos for many years to come. Danielle Stewart: I cannot say enough positive things about Liz and her work! Once we started looking for wedding vendors, I was most concerned about having to pick a wedding photographer. It's a big decision and there seem to be endless options! I did a number of phone calls with potential photographers and Liz stood out to me immediately. Ruben Photography: what do users think?
Karen Retana: Ruben was our photographer for our engagement photoshoot this spring. We really wanted the popular Japanese Cherry Blossoms in our pictures. We were afraid there would be too many people and the pictures would not turn out great, but Ruben found the perfect spots and was very patient to wait for the right moments. We also took our dog with us, whom he managed to incorporate in some of the photos. Would hire him as our wedding photographer if we were getting married locally!
Chase Frazier: I proposed to my now wife in front of the memorial and had Ruben meet us there. It was a great experience, and we love a lot of the pictures he took. We had a lot of fun around the D.C. area taking pictures with him. It was a great value for the almost 400 pictures we took.

He is a press photographer as well as a wedding photographer, so this gave us confidence that he would be able to capture fleeting moments at the ceremony and reception that we have seen many other photographers miss at other weddings.
