Phokin Guy: I personally, will never ever in my life as a contractor will ever do business with this facility. My first time here and there is a few Hispanic males in the entrance just standing with the employee of the store I walk in an the people start making fun of how I am dressed! Which I think it completely stupidity! The employee of the store actually starts making fun of my shoes! Red vans ! Asking if they are Cinderella shoes and all this stuff obviously I don't know this guy an I have a real short temper so I rather not even speak a word I look at the brushed and feel my blood start boiling so I rather step out and take my business else where. If this is the type of employee McCormick employes I really feel sorry for the company. Smh

Phillip Arcaini: I have tried to get paint at this store for a week and their “system is down” every single day and they are unable to help and serve customers but their doors are “open” ??? Corporate must be losing a lot of money over this, and I will have to find a different place for paint now as deadlines are approaching.

Shahrzad Grami: On the first visit, I didn't take the advice of the knowledgeable staff about a color, and I regretted it. This time, I listened to Brandon's advice on color, sheen, paint quality, knowing it'll be a better choice. He was gracious, though I came just before the store closed causing him to stay late. I really appreciate his willingness to do that, and I can lean him to know his products and customers. I can't recommend this store and manager enough - thank you!

Sam Wice: Reviewing this as a retail client who is not a painting expert. Staff were helpful in identifying the correct paint to use. Paint is a little expensive versus places like Home Depot, but they often have 35%/40% sales so wait for one of those.

Albert Nelson: The staff here are rude and completely incompetent. I have been to many paint stores and have never had these issues. Joseph, the guy that took my order was not only rude when I was explaining that I wanted a quart of paint. Told me that they probably do not have it because it is a commercial store with an attitude. Ended up having it and he mixed it for me. When I I go to put the paint into the rooler pan I noticed that the paint wasnt even shaken. He shot the dyes into the can and did not shake it, after pouring it into the pan, I could not get the paint to mix properly. I called and he said that I can come back up there and they would give me a new one. The store what's 30 minutes away from where I was, I only went to it because it was on the way. I will not go here again that's for sure. As you can see in the picture below it is white mixed with red, yellow and green. The pigment wasnt mixed, It was supposed to be a dark pink. The paint was ruined. I had to go to Home Depot and buy a new one.

Ankur Sood: Seriously bad service, there were only two people in the store and the cashier just disappeared. I had to wait over 30 minutes just to cash out.. I would suggest going to another store, I'm pretty sure the Walmart close but has paint supplies and probably cheaper.

KB: If you have to get a correct match with quality paint, this is the only option. Don't waste your time with Home Depot or Lowes cheap paint and poor matching. You will end up paying more anyway if you do.

Jose amaya: The worst out of all the sherwin- Williams paint stores I have ever visted. Bad customer service. The employee that assisted me was the most rude person ever. No customer service skills at all. I had to wait 30 minutes for one quart of paint and I was the only customer there. The whole establishment was very filthy. If that wasn't the only sherwin Williams close by I would not set foot in that store ever again.

Got the paint match adjusted for a 5 gallon bucket (didn’t know that was a thing), reminded me to use my contractor’s account for discount and even carried the paint out to my car! Amazingly surprised and pleased with my visit from start to finish.

Angie Whitehurst: Everything a home owner needs for those serious got to get it done now jobs, like the porch, wall Nick's, tub touch ups, brushes, cleaners, is inthe front of the store. They are almost mind readers and they have Dale prices. They are handicapped accessible and have a large parking lot. The customer service representatives, are knowledgeable, warm and friendly.

G Farm: I was mortified by the reviews I read so I decided to call in advance before walking to the store. Sure enough, my experience was consistent with the bad reviews. How do you not offer paint matching services when PAINT is supposed to be your specialty?! I'm going to ACE Hardware in Adams Morgan instead. They have a 4.5 Google rating! Do not waste your time with the numb-skulls at Sherman-Williams on 14th. With any luck, they'll close...for good.

Erik V: Outstanding! There are many places you can buy paint, but there are few places that offer the expertise and service I received here. From picking a color/finish to prepping the walls to throwing down paint, these pros know... and they're really nice!

peter pinkham: This is a nice store - location is excellent, but the size of it precludes they're keeping a large supply of various bases etc on hand. Luckily for me, when I went there I was able to get exactly what I needed. Never hurts to call ahead too! The gentleman in there knew his stuff and got me in and out in a jiffy. I was very grateful for that. They get two thumbs up.

Unparalleled Eye Designs: Always an cool and efficient experience here! This location has been my go to lately.... the two gentlemen that seemingly run the store, William & Damien, are such helpful and pleasant associates. Eric Xavier Leo Noro: This is the place to get your paint! Great quality, they meet the customers needs, and the have pretty much anything you need fro a small touch up job to painting an entire house. Some paints are expensive, but if you go with quality you'll probably never have to paint in a very long time and colors won't fade with these high end brands. They also have other brands that will not hurt your wallet. They also carry blinds. This is my go to place now.

Andrew Eifert: I'm a professional painter so I go to all the painting stores. And I have certainly no problem with any of monarchs employees they do a great job. But if you're looking for the most expensive paint in town go to Monarch. You have to also understand that Benjamin Moore paint stores are a independently operated franchise. So not every Benjamin Moore store is owned by monarch .

Paula F: Don't try to order anything online and expect it to be ready when they promise. I ordered some paint samples online and received an email a couple of hours later saying that they were ready to pick up. When I got there the store had closed early. When I went the next day, I was informed that the paints hadn't been mixed but if I waited for 10-15 min they could make them for me. So not much point in using the online service, you might as well just show up.

José Enrique Samayoa: Gave one star because 0 is not possible.Terrible customer service. Today in the afternoon, we went with my fiancé to this store to purchase the paint and tools for our new house. We were excited as this is our first home and first time painting. There was only one very rude lady in the store who was annoyed with our questions and kept pressuring us as she kept saying that she needed to close the store (half an hour before closing). We didn’t end up buying anything and decided to make our purchase somewhere else. If you’re planning on buying from this store don’t expect to get help or guidance.

Gontran Archer: The staff was extremely courteous and professional. I picked up a gallon at a store 1 hour away which was mixed wrong. I found them just a mile from my job site so they allowed me to bring the paint to their store and provided me with a freshly mixed gallon in the right color! They were great and I highly recommend them.....they are my new store from now on!

Kris Juncker: Sherwin Williams recycles paint cans. This is a great service. We use SW paints for my workplace, and I switched to SW for home because of the quality. However, contractors get a price discount so definitely work with your builder if you are getting the walls painted.

James Walters: Butch’s is definitely the best body shop in the area (by a mile!!!). The staff is so warm and helpful. You feel welcomed as soon as you walk into the shop and the customer service is impeccable. Went to a couple of body shops to get a price on my damaged bumper. This was definitely the best one. Their service was quick, the car looked great, and the prices were perfect. Would definitely recommend. Best place in the area by far!!!

Attiyah Blair: Erik, Liz and the Butch’s Autobody team are consistently amazing. My husband and I have taken about five vehicles here over the years for Body work, minor scratches, and paint jobs. Greggory Samuels: My experience at Butch's Auto Body & Painting was Amazing. I was look for a shop that could install the aerodynamic front lip spoiler, rear diffuser with winglets, and trunk roof spoiler on my BMW F15 X5 M Sport. I look up on Google for a shop and came across Butch's. I gave them a call and Liz answered and from that moment I felt welcome. I went by and met with Eric and made an appointment which they did everything to get me in ASAP based on my schedule. Mel R.: Efficient and friendly, Juan went above and beyond with customer service to ensure I had the exact color paint and primer I needed for our contractors to finish the job. He volunteered to explain the different types of primer products and their three-tiered price points, which let me know he was concerned with me making the right decision for my budget. Talking to my contractor over the phone and extending him a contractor discount was a gesture I didn't expect, but well pleased with. He anticipated I would have difficulty getting my supplies to my car and offered curb side assistance. Thanks again, Juan for making my visit to your business a pleasant one. I will definitely be a returning customer.

a.l. rodenberg: Many things to love about this store. Personable owner who has time for every customer, great advice, a newly expanded collection of useful house-type items... But for anyone who watches furniture flippers obsessively on youtube and either thinks about trying it out or has a cheap marketplace find that you're going to tackle... These folks might become your new best friends. Their current range of chalk paint is limited to Rustoleum (though they do have tintable rustoleum chalk paint, which I didn't know was a thing) The price, if I remember, was $15 and change for a quart? But they have Benjamin Moore Advance, which is a self-leveling cabinet paint ($20ish/quart). Unfortunately, the least shiny option in Advance is Satin, but I can attest to the self-leveling qualities. They aren't currently carrying General Finishes Milk Paint, which I am eager to test out, but... they can order and have available within a day for you (I asked). They are contemplating just carrying the line on the shelves, but a day to order and be able to pick it up at a local place instead of Amazon? That works for me. I'd much rather contribute to the bottom line of an independant local than continue to line the pockets of Bezos. Who knows, if there are enough of us, we might be able to talk them into giving us a corner with waxes, brushes, stencils, and other sundries to play with. Even though they don't currently have a dedicated furniture painting corner, there is a crafty corner with metallic paints, plus a variety of top coats and finishing products, stains, paint brushes, measuring/mixing cans, sanding implements, and other useful things. Just saying. If you're into flipping furniture for yourself or others, this place is worth a visit.

A lot of people would probably be surprised to know that all Benjamin Moore stores are a independently operated and owned franchise. So not every Benjamin Moore store is going to give you the same price or the same service. This store offers a competitive price on their paint and excellent service.

Jordan Kaye Colvin: THERE NEEDS TO BE MORE STORES LIKE THIS. I didn't buy anything but called to ask if they had a product I needed for a time-sensitive project. They had it in stock and I asked to put it aside for me to pick up. They called me back 5 minutes later to say, so kindly, "I think you actually mean to use it for THIS, and blah blah blah." Long story short- they went the extra mile to save the time driving there because I was mistaken about the product's use. They are awesome and I wanted to acknowledge a great small business.

GraceEagle: I bought GARDZ Problem Surface Sealer from them to fix a huge drywall tear. Product really works great! Glad they had it, otherwise I would have had to wait for Amazon to ship. Would definitely shop there again.

Heath Miller: I came here because I wanted to paint my kitchen cabinets and I had a lot of questions (the responses at a big box store were disappointing). Juan and Danny were very helpful with picking out the right primer, paint, and tools as well as giving me tips. I used the Benjamin Moore Advance paint, I love that stuff!

frannie nuccio: They fixed my car’s front bumper so quickly and it looked brand new! After a month after them fixing my bumper, my bumper popped out again (possible cause unsure, possibly due to street parking?) So I brought it back to them and was very stressed because I just spent the money on fixing it but Diana and the mechanic was so nice and understanding and fixed it once again free of charge since they just needed to put a few screws back in place. I am so appreciative and definitely will recommend it to friends/will go again if needed!

Claire Boyd: I called Guarani hoping for an estimate for a passenger side vent window replacement - Sonia and Diana were extremely helpful over the phone and asked me to send photos of the damage as well as information about the make and model of my car. They followed up within 24 hours with an estimate and window of time for the following day when they could complete the job. The team was ready as soon as I arrived and was flexible to pay up front or after the job was complete. The repair was finished within 2 hours and exceeded my expectations - I really appreciate how friendly and easy to work with they were. I could not have had a better experience - I love this women-run shop! I will definitely be going back :)

As a young woman, car repairs can be intimidating, but Diane at Guarani made it comfortable and easy for me to request the repair I needed. She offered transparency about the pricing and the repair process. At first the fix wasn’t exactly why I was looking for, but when I pointed that out, they made it right quickly and also went above and beyond with an additional minor fix. I hope I won’t need more body work done, but if I do I’ll use Guarani.

Amy Telford: We had a great experience with Guarani Auto Body Shop. Their estimate came in about $90 less than the other estimates that we received. The car was fixed in under three business days, a day earlier than promised. Not only did they do a fantastic job with the body work, they returned the car cleaned than ever, both on the inside and out. Fast, professional, and efficient, all for a great price. Highly recommended!

Ari Eisenberg: They fixed my Prius (spoiler, bumper, side panel, taillight) for a very reasonable price that didn't exceed the estimate. Also, they got the work done in three days. Three other body shops had told me the repairs would be much more expensive and they would take at least a week. They did forget to replace the bulb in my taillight, but when I went back they replaced it very quickly and without an additional charge. Overall very satisfied with my experience here.

Christopher Burger: I ordered Hunter Douglas shades from Monarch. They were installed incorrectly - they are not level, don't close all the way - tons of problems. I have been chasing Monarch paint since August 2021 to come repair them. No response - If you call the design center, no one answers and there is no answering service. They don't respond to emails. These shades look horrible and were a complete waste of money. I can deal with things not being installed correctly - if the vendor fixes the issue. The fact they were installed incorrectly and the vendor is AVOIDING the issue is what makes this so troubling. If you want any level of service whatsoever, stay away from Monarch paint!

C H: I was very pleased with the assistance of the designers; one came to our house to help with selections. I purchased a variety of paints for different rooms. They also helped with wallpaper selection which I also purchased there and just love.

Realize it's tough to get good help these days but I will likely take my business elsewhere after this experience, very disappointed. Paul Albers: Third bad experience in this store today.... I think they must cater to contractors because they don't seem to like consumers... today I came in to look for paint colors for a kitchen remodel, I was asked by the staff if I needed some help I said yes but I was met with impatience - I had backsplash samples and sample of the cabinet, when I presented them I got an eye roll and a curt paint color suggestion - then she turned on her heel and walked away. Last year, when doing a bathroom remodel I received similar treatment. I live in the neighborhood and want to support the local businesses, but in the future I think I will go to Strosniders if I want to purchase Benjamin Moore.

Christopher Parker: Stay away from this store and Hunter Douglas PowerView at all costs! One year ago (around July 9, 2016) we started the process to buy shades here. We have an area where we can't reach the shades so we needed the motorized version. There was mistake after mistake by the people measuring and installing the shades meaning my wife or I had to take off work a number of times. After install, the shades didn't work and were getting stuck to the paint. Some of them would start to raise and then stop after an inch. We were told this was our fault because of the paint we had on the ledges and we given (free of charge I must say) a gallon of special paint that was supposed solve all of our problems. The process seemed to be resolved in December 2016 but now, one year after I first stepped into this store, I am dealing with a shade that goes up an inch and then stops. Spend your money anywhere else. UPDATE: we got a full refund but only after threatening to take them to court over it.

We are a family owned business and care very much about the service we provide to our local community. It is very rare to have an issue like this with PowerView, but that being said, we completely understand why you feel this way. Thank you for your feedback.

Zlatica Hoke: Zero stars. Of all the area paint stores, this one is the worst and the most expensive, the service the slowest, the selection of merchandise poorest. I get a faster service at ACE or Monarch with 10 people in the store than in this SW store with one or two shoppers in the store. The staff does not show interest in your needs. I asked about the quality of the masking tape (they are not all the same) and the seller said he did not understand the question. When I tried to be more specific and wanted to know if the tape was smooth like vinyl or more like crepe paper, he said he still did not understand. The shop caters only goods wanted by contractors albeit its location in a residential street where many people have small projects and do not need huge quantities. The only reason I ever go there is because it is a block from where I live, but every time I go I get distressed. It is worth driving further to get decent service and decent and reasonably priced merchandise.

Pauly Kerins: I’ll tell you what, the customer service in this store is TOP NOTCH!! My 1st visit I was a bit lost but Jay the manager walked me through what I needed for the size of the room I was painting. All I had to do was pick out the color, my man even gave me some pointers on how to prep properly. Legit!! My 2nd visit was even smoother. Jack one of the other managers recognized me and was able to look up my color that chose last time and got me out the door in less than 5 min. TOP NOTCH!! Here’s the kicker last visit they gave me a voucher for the food truck that they had parked outback!! Whaaaat!! Taco Taco Thanks Guys, That’s What Customer Service Is All About.

Gregory Pitman: Choose another Sherwin-Williams location. I tried ordering samples online (covd-19) but one of the colors I wanted says it can't be made even though it's a Sherwin-Williams color. At that point I called the store to ask if it could be done as a "Custom Color" order since that is an option on the website. The answer I kept getting was "If it's a designer color I can't make it" which I understand but he kept repeating this instead of answering my question and I'm still not sure if the color is a "designer color" or not as he kept repeating the same answer with no further discussion. At no time did the person ask "What is the color so we can double check if that's the issue" or "what is the color?" he just kept repeating the same thing "Designer colors can't be made into a sample". I still don't know if the color I wanted was a designer color or not. I went to another Sherwin-Williams where they were told me "it's an online glitch and we can certainly help you."

Andre Gray: Repair and paint front bumper is indicated on my receipt. Yet i am not satisfied with the results reflected by the appearance of my finished front bumper. It was not sanded smooth, just painted, while clearly needing to be wet sanding before painting, yet I paid 1,400.00 to paint a 2001 Honda Civic. Katrina Hutchinson: I came in to this location for an estimate due to some damage on my brand new truck the end of January. When I walked in I saw Rockelle whom I had the pleasure of working with in the past. She looked at the damage wrote me an estimate we agreed on a good price. Rockelle has the best spirit, knowledge and professionalism about herself that keeps customers coming back. She is very informative and gives you reasonable time lines. I brought my car in the week of Feb 7th and it was ready on the 9th!!! I was expecting my car to be there all week because she didn't want to provide me with an unrealistic timeline but let me tell you I was so happy to receive that call because not only did she save me money for repairs she also saved me money with the rental I had and the finish results were amazing!!! I couldn't even locate where the damage was the team did an exceptional job on my car and made it look like it did when I first drove it off the lot. Just gorgeous and matched the paint to perfection and I'm not exaggerating. This location is THE BEST! trust me if you come here you will definitely be satisfied.

Anthony Garner: Maaco did a fair job painting my car, but they broke my rear trunk spoiler which has been discontinued by the dealer. The didn't mentioned that they damaged my car, I didn't bother to bring it to their attention because I know they won't do anything about the damage. The offered to paint the replacement spoiler if I found one which was pretty much and insult . You get what you pay for. Service: Painting

Dave Johnson: I had a great experience with Imperial! It took a couple weeks to get an appointment, but they took care of my car in just a few days. Replaced and painted the hood (perfect paint match), replaced the grill and trim, and repaired the front bumper. They took care of all of the insurance stuff, including helping me return my rental car. They left my car way cleaner than when I brought it. Alain Parcan: Truly the best body shop I’ve ever been to. By far the most professional staff, who took the time to explain everything start to finish, and the actual work done was impeccable. Sandra Vanderbilt: This place is the best! I should have left a review over a year ago when my dad and I did a significant indoor painting project. We made a lot of trips needing various items and a lot more paint than we assumed. We got a lot of advice and offered expertise and the rooms we painted still look amazing. I'm leaving the review because I'm about to do a second big project starting with my kids' rooms and multiple colors and I wouldn't even think of going anywhere else. Franklin’s exceeded my expectations with the quality of their body work (repairing the cracked fiberglass) and attention to detail (matching the OEM color, painting the door jambs, reattaching those old C-O-R-V-E-T-T-E letters to the rear bumper, not painting over the Body Number and Trim and Point Plate, no overspray onto the chrome or badging). Awesome body work and a glistening paint job, all reasonably priced. Franklin’s has excellent communication and customer service; they answered all of my questions and accommodated all of my requests. My car was ready when promised, and I am thrilled with the results!

David Feehan: I bought a 1984 Olds Toronado at an auction in Iowa. It needed number fillers and rust repair. I bought the number fillers from an after market supplier, and the first body shop I visited told me they couldn't use them. The also told me they no longer did rust repair. I took the car to Franklin Auto Body and they could not have been nicer and more helpful. They gave me an estimate that was well within my budget, scheduled the car and delivered it at the time and date they promised, and I was extremely pleased with the work. the parts fit perfectly, the color match was great (this is a 35 year old vehicle painted with lacquer) and the car looks like new. I would highly recommend Franklin Auto Body for the quality of their work and the friendliness of the staff and owner.

Farrow & Ball: what do users think?


Terry Seery: I've spent a third the price on paint that worked better than the Farrow & Ball paint did. It's a very thin paint - two coats are required, and in some places (corners where I had to use a brush) three coats were necessary. I do like the color (Mizzle) but it's not worth the work or the money. And then the retail store on Wisconsin is just that - a retail storefront. It's not where the paint is mixed so they may be out of paint at any one point. From my own experience, I'd highly recommend calling first to make sure the paint you want is in stock.

K Barnett: Unused and unopened paint had coagulated to the point of being unusable. I went to the store to find a solution to the issue. I explained the situation, but was treated poorly by the location manager. He told me that “there was nothing he could do.” He couldn’t even look up my sale, and just dug in his heels! He would not even offer to dispose of the paint. For the cost of the product I would surely expect better customer service. I later contacted the F&B customer service offices for assistance and they provided guidance, solutions, and also apologized for the location manager’s behavior. They informed me the paint should not have coagulated within the timeframe of purchase. They encouraged me to return to F&B for disposal of the paint. I also needed to purchase primer. I was greeted by a wonderful staff person, and informed him of the customer service guidance, but the location manager insisted on continuing his inappropriate behavior, so he would not allow the other staff to process my purchase and disposal. I protested him overtaking the transaction, but the manager sent the staff person off the floor! The team is new, but better training is needed for management. My previous experiences with the F&B team has been positive, but this was abysmal to say the least.

Zlatica Hoke: The colors are fabulous and the stuff knowledgeable, but a little snotty. They exude an air of impatience as if awaiting to see you go away ASAP. The other problem is their M-F work hours. Why not Saturdays at least half a day? Is this place catering only to wealthy housewives who don't have to work?

Hunter McGuire: I’ve never had a paint project go so badly. I prepped, followed their instructions along with the instructions on the can and I ended up wasting hours of my time and I still don’t have a proper paint finish. I wish I would have never set foot in their store. I’m going to have to strip three coats of paint and one coat of primer and start all over. With a different brand obviously.
