Rickey Anderson: They have so many wonderful items to complete any DIY craft you have in mind

David Zeledon: The framing department is simply fantastic. I got three diplomas framed here and Sonya that helped me out was the best. She works meticulously and her attention to detail and customer satisfaction is second to none!! Thanks again, again.

HAPPY CRAFTY CAT: I was trying to find this paper pad at various locations in my area. However, online it says the stores in my area have them i go there and nothing. It has been two weeks and yet nothing. I was told to give it some days and i did. OFCOURSE nothing. I do appreciate the staff who went out of their way to look for it at the Wisconsin ave location. It seems there is a system mix up online as i found other crafty people have been looking for it too. The IT TEAM SHOULD FIX THIS. VERY MISS LEADING ONLINE WHEN IT SAYS WHAT LOCAL STORES HAVE WHAT IT IS THAT YOU ARE LOOKING FOR AND THE QUANTITY AND THERE IS NOTHING WHEN YOU ARRIVE TO PURCHASE IT. OTHER THAN THAT THE STORE WAS CLEAN, NICELY ORGANIZED, AND STAFF WAS FRIENDLY AND READY TO ASSIST. 💞

Ana: This place is great, my husband and I were invited to a wedding and we decided to go to the store because of the good reviews and it did not disappoint us. The owner and his father are very helpful and nice, everyone loved our outfits and kept asking where we got them from. We would recommend them to anyone looking for high quality and affordable Indian traditional clothing.

Johlize McNeil: Great selection of Indian clothes at different price ranges! I was shopping for a wedding and was able to get everything I needed. They sell full sets as well as individual items which allowed me to complete some outfits I had. The service is incredible and they do a great job listening to determine what you are looking for. I cannot recommend this store enough!!

HippyDippy Trippy: I was looking for something affordable, pretty & bright in silk, in size 12 (US size). This shop did not disappoint! The shopkeeper was incredibly kind and helpful. I fit a size 42-44 nicely. There were plentiful options. I feel so elegant! Like a celestial fairy 🧚🏻‍♀️ Thank you Vijay 🙏

Kai Ebnother: This shop is a hidden treasure! They have jewellery, dresses, clothing for men’s and much more to discover. The shop owner was very friendly and professional, he helped out with choosing my shirts and kimono purchases. I definitely recommend this place I’ve you visiting the Woodley neighbourhood.

Lucy Watson: I drove an hour each way after reading the positive reviews for this store and it did not disappoint! Vijay was amazing—so friendly, patient, and extremely helpful. I am a size 14-16 US and there were plenty of options for me to try on. I left with a gorgeous outfit, shoes, and handbag for the sangeet I am attending. I can’t wait to wear my outfit! The prices were very reasonable too! If you need traditional Indian clothing, I highly recommend this store!

Hypnosis by Quatae: Amazing customer service! The two gentlemen that helped me both times I visited here were so accommodating. They helped me pick out an outfit and everything to complement it all at an affordable price! I was excited for my outfit for a gala that was hosted in DC. Thank you so very much for your customer service!

Dave Phillips: My sister wanted to have everything about her wedding here as close to traditional as possible. We were all more than overwhelmed with how beautiful she looked in her authentic lehenga set. The embroidery was stunning. You can tell family is #1 at this family-oriented establishment.

Blick Art Materials: what do users think?

Sue I: I’ve been going to art stores for 40 years and in all that time, I’ve never met a more knowledgable art supply salesperson than Sean at Blick Art Materials, DC. He gave thoughtful and useful suggestions for my art project. He also taught me how to use materials I never have used before. Sean’s professionalism and experience is outstanding. His tremendous kindness is un-matched and Blick is very lucky to have Sean representing them.

vivian siebert: Shop with many varieties of professional products, good prices, friendly attendants but need more information about the products to help.Check products and price tags I ended up buying a product with twice the price exposed ...

Camille Murray: Love to come here the associates are very nice and knowledgeable. They really do have everything you need for beginners to advanced artist of all forms. My copic and prismacolor markers are cheaper here for me or anyone if your a member or not.

Ana Delmont: Very helpful, friendly, and knowledgeable staff! Great selection of paints, canvases, brushes, and everything I needed. Just walking around the store gave me so many more ideas from their wide selection of products, and it all came out way cheaper than I expected. It’s now my go-to arts and crafts store!

Beat Ammann: Very friendly staff and a very wide variety of things, including for art projects with kids!

Plaza Artist Materials & Picture Framing: what do users think?

cq ny: With Plaza Artist Materials I found a strong competitor to Blick. A great selection of notebooks for sketching, drawing and watercolor that I used to only find on Amazon but now I can buy here in person. Stop by this store for sketching, drawing and painting supplies. They also have canvases and supplies for oil and acrylic art, knitting, and other art mediums that look interesting. Staff are really friendly and helpful. Prices seem reasonable.

Jon Fisher: Fantastic store with a great selection of products and very helpful and friendly staff who helped us find everything and give us advice on which materials to purchase for an art class.

Laura P: The store was bright and clean, with helpful but not intrusive or hovering staff and a very good selection of watercolor paints, paper and brushes, and many more things that I did not peruse as carefully. I had a groupon, which was awesome, since I could easily have spent much more than I did. Definitely worth checking out!

Waldo Strange: Helpful staff, good assortment of products, clean and well organized. They have a loyalty program that is free to sign up for. Dinged a star, though, because their prices are a bit high in my opinion. Would like to see better deals at least on store brand things.

Zawadi: what do users think?

Keisha B. Nelson: Great experience! So many authentic pieces and beautiful gifts! Would recommend taking a visit.

TDA: An almost-hidden gem on U St NW between 15th and 16th. Go inside an see a wealth of African art from across that vast and varied continent. You can also find pieces made for the casual tourist. The owner is experienced and knowledgeable, and the prices are very reasonable for North America.

Valerie Previl: Irene and the staff at Zawadi really know how to make you feel at home. Their selection of goods throughout the diaspora is vast and jaw dropping. It’s beautiful to see how creative we are in all disciplines. HIGHLY RECOMMEND

Mia Ross: They host an incredible collection of African relics and art pieces. Usually they can tell you exzactly where a piece is from and the story behind it. My favorite part is the jewlery, the pieces are one of a kind and fairly priced. Highly suggested.

harris jt: It was amazing! The owner was so nice. Explained where each item was from and use. I Left more knowledgeable than I came in. Definitely would recommend.

Marcie Nolen Moss: ♥️🖤💚

Emily Springer: The absolute best local candles, and the owner is Amina is so kind and thoughtful. I don’t like overwhelming manufactured scents; these soft floral scents are in constant rotation in my home. Perfect for gifts.

Bridget Wright: My favorite candles for myself and as gifts.. Excellent customer service and the personalized candles are a gem.

Terratorie Maps + Goods: what do users think?

Ethan Nadler: I love this store. It is so well designed and beautiful, a delight just to walk in and soak in the colors. Great service too, a painting from them fell and they fixed the Matting for me free of charge.

Gwen Milder: I purchased a map of my neighborhood for our home and love it so much that I bought one for a friend for Christmas. Not only is the map super cute, the shipping was SO FAST and was packaged perfectly. Love Terratorie Maps!

Bailey DeSimone: A beautiful, welcoming shop with an amazing array of stationery goods and artwork. I always shop here for my writing and decorative needs. The staff is warm and friendly, and they genuinely care about providing wonderful service and assistance. The map and card collections are gorgeous - Cherry Blossom Creative is a local neighborhood treasure.

Oliver Peckham: First visited Cherry Blossom Creative after finding them on a list of Field Notes retailers and found a charming, hip little shop with well-curated stationery and gifts. Staff are friendly and prices are reasonable. Location is a bit out of the way, but Cherry Blossom is worth a stop.

Lauren Mulvihill: We happened upon Cherry Blossom while wondering around Shaw but I’m so glad that we did. This little shop is so well stocked and the employee that was helping us provided one of the best experiences I’ve ever had! They mainly sell stationary and writing utensils which are actually very competitively priced. I purchased a Leuchttrum1917 dotted for $16.95. They normally run $17-$20 on Amazon. Their selection is sizeable but not overwhelming and there are a variety of test pads scattered throughout the store. The woman working on 10/7 was AMAZING. I wish I remembered her name so I could give her a shout out. She helped us and showed us highlights without feeling pushy, she was hilarious and informed us of the future of the store. They’re currently remodeling and are supposedly adding a pen wall in the future which is one of the many reasons I will be frequenting Cherry Blossom in the future. If you love pens and notebooks and office supplies you must check them out.

Abderrahmane Neggaz: Cherry Blossom Creative designed labels and packaging for my chocolate company Chocotenango. While we gave them full creativity, we also did have some ideas in mind as our website was already completed with a certain style. They are experienced, very creative, very professional and full of new ideas, which fit in perfectly with our desired style. We continue to rely on them for new product labels, print ads and various other things. Highly recommended.

Jenni Bick Custom Journals: what do users think?

Piper Strzelecki: This is one of my favorite spots in the area!! The shop is perfect for cute gifts: stationary, puzzles, tote bags, and every writing utensil you could imagine. Very reasonably priced as well. Highly recommend.

Robert Gregory: My wife likes pens. And paper too. So she likes this store. She has good taste. I just walk around the neighborhood while she shops.

Grant Smith: Top notch quality. Fast customer inquiry response, quick production and good tracking. Absolutely first class selection, and with the front window and custom gold leaf script, you can literally create any theme. I went for the "Ode to the Dreadnought..."

Meaghan Nelson Gibb: I do custom orders a couple of times per month and they make it so simple from start to finish. Their customer service is really excellent, the quality is 100% and the shipping/delivery notifications are great! Could not ask for more!

Zack Williams: Awesome place with excellent staff! I was looking at the travelers notebook series or a different Midori product and was having trouble making up my mind. They left me alone for an hour wondering around the shop trying to figure out what I wanted and occasionally making sure I was still good and didn’t need any more help. I look forward to going back on my next trip to DC and will be sure to tell my friends to go here should they be the type who might be interested. The website doesn’t do the selection justice so if you don’t see something you are interested in online, but will be in the area, you should still go in and check it out!

Callan Eschenburg: A great selection of stationary, notebooks, and fine custom journals. Nice selection of pens and some ink bottles/cartridges as well. I have found many great deals in their sale/clearance section as well. Always walk out with way more than I came in for, but still at a great price!

Carla Roberts: My children are all artist and we’ve shopped at Abstract for 20 years or more easily! The owner is so kind that whenever my children are home they visit because they can always find the art supplies they need but mostly for the opportunity to converse with the owner.

Neil B: This is a Brookland institution that has been in the neighborhood since 1972. The owner is very nice, and the atmosphere is electric. This is not a fancy store with fluorescent lights and cookie cutter labels on each product. This place has soul. Every turn is an adventure. You may never know what treasure you may find, or what will inspire you. THIS is an Art store.

Ryan Francart: Unique art store, unfortunately did not have a large diversity of supplies but overall was a good experience.

seaweed#5: It is an amazing experience and a beautiful store more people should go it is worth every dollor. The owner is so nice.

Kyle Browne: The friendly and knowledgeable elder proprietor has owned this store for decades, and I will go out of my way to shop here.

Mark Robinson: Just an amazing locally owned business with highly knowledgeable and welcoming proprietor and staff. Highly recommend this store.

The place was located in the second floor of the building! There were two nice ladies greeted us upon our arrival and explained where everything located in the store! They also showed us sale section and explained their awards program. After spending some times looking in the store finally we found our material that needed! Quite an amazing experience!

This could be a lifesaver for parents in the busy navy yard neighborhood! They offer events and classes for kids and adults alike! Checkout the music class on Sundays!

Amber Wason: My favorite store in DC. The gifts are carefully curated and always a hit. Staff is friendly and helpful. Recently utilized their personal shopping service and they virtually shopped for my gifts, had them waiting in a basket when I picked up. Can’t recommend enough! Panda and T Rex t-shirts pictured here. ✌🏼

Julie Donnan: What a fun shop! Great variety of high quality goods, but what is even better is the friendly and welcoming atmosphere the staff create. I walked out of the store not only with some beautiful gifts but also a welcome to my new neighborhood & also some restaurant recommendations!

Vanessa Long: I had to pick up a last minute gift for a friends birthday and the owner of this store helped me pick out everything I needed. She also made a lovely little gift bag, and I found out all the work in the store are her designs! This is a great little spot so glad I came across it at the perfect moment.

Karla Núñez: This is such a cute store! Came in purely because I saw a corgi oven mit. The owner was so sweet to help look for another one. I also picked up a couple of bandannas and they’re so soft against my skin and super fashionable. Great place for gift buying!

Katherine McQuinn: I live in Hill East and this shop has been a sweet addition to the neighborhood. Their selection is thoughtfully curated and fun. These one star reviews are likely from folks who have never been here (look at their profiles) and are merely retaliating against a business that Pres. Biden shopped at. They are misdirecting their anger and punishing a small business owner that just happens to have a shop in DC. Please try to look past them!

B booth: Never been, but I plan to go soon. I hear they have Kamela mugs, and I REALLY need to memorialize my fondness for the greatest leader since Lincoln with a mug.

Melanie Ramirez: An AMAZING store with a ton of souvenir gifts to choose from. The owner is very sweet and gives good discounts and free items! Definitely recommend to stop by for your Washington DC gifts!

Jessica Corson: This was by far the most phenomenal souvenir shop I have been to passing through on travel. They have such a great variety of souvenirs and is a very detailed/clean store! The owner is unbelievably generous and a sweet man! He gave us discounts and free items just because! He definitely made sure we were taken care of and left happy! Outstanding customer service!! 😁😁

Emily Bonilla: Mr. Chung was the absolute sweetest souvenir shop owner! My visit happened to be close to Father’s Day & he gave my dad an extra free t-shirt along with many other freebies. Not only is he an amazing store owner but an amazing father. He spoke very proudly of his successful children, which was very sweet.

Juliette Morris: Thank you Dr. Chung!!! I’m from Miami and chose this place based on google reviews. They have a wide variety and the best customer service ever. Dr. Chung and the young lady working with him both assisted my friend and I. Helped us pick everything out, I didn’t have to think too hard lol. Also threw in some freebies. If you’re looking for a souvenir shop when in town check them out!!

Elicia Tumbleson: This was the best souvenir shop I’ve ever been to! The owner and the shop employee were so sweet and helpful. The owner told us he had been there for 41 years and was the nicest man I’ve ever met. They gave us discounts on things, gave us free t-shirts, magnets, Christmas tree ornaments, and a keychain. If you are looking to get gift from DC, definitely stop here! 10/10 will recommend!

starryyuri: owner is an extremely kind and generous man!! through our purchase, we were given discounts on everything! he offered paper towels and water for our comfort, and talked to us about how we found his store. throughout our time there, we were given: a free tote bag a free magnet two free pens a free t shirt two free hand sanitizers a commemorative coin absolutely amazing experience, i would love for all of you to check out the spot! right in the metro station :)

Melissa Free: I spent $62🤑 got 4 shirts and he was so kind to throw in a magnet. I walked from my hotel 3 miles to find his shop at 8pm located near the subway. Great find and worth the journey. I too was assisted by the owner Chung or Chang. Great variety of souvenirs.

Noelia Patino: Mr. Chung was the friendliest person we encountered in DC! The shop has a ton of options. The young lady working gave great suggestions based on what we liked. Better deals than the little stands around the monuments. It’s definitely worth checking out if anything for the great customer service!

Artistic Artifacts: what do users think?

Leah: This shop has quilt fabric and some unique options (international variety) but it also has a huge selection of crafty mixed media art supplies. Just like the shop name says- artistic artifacts! Fabric is sold in 1/2 yard minimum cuts. They ship fabric too and are responsive when you ask questions about stock or shipping. If you’re able to visit in person you can see so much cool stuff they have in the shop. Pretty ribbons. Lots of mixed media supplies. A good thread selection. And they’re a Bernina dealer and offer machine servicing, plus classes. They also have a selection of notions, books and other interesting things. (They also had Girl Scout cookies for sale which was a bonus.) If you can’t visit in person, the owner has some walk-through videos posted on her website and Facebook. Definitely a fun shop to check out. I took a fabric dyeing workshop here as well. A great shop to have in the community. Support your local business and find some fun art supplies here!

Virginia Kinzer: This store has an amazing collection of fabric, thread, sewing/quilting supplies, and ephemera. The talented staff is there to graciously assist you. Just bring your imagination.

Chantica Wheeler: If you are looking for something for mixed media art or printing or quilting or sewing you have to come and see what they have to offer. Take your time they have quite a bit in a smaller space.

Christine Vinh: Artistic Artifacts is my happy place! A wonderful selection of new and vintage products for the fiber and mixed media artist. The owner, Judy Gula, has created a welcoming community of creative folks who frequent the shop and are always good for inspiration.

Naomi: Amazing selection of hand painted canvases! I really need to try it out for myself one day. They have a great thread selection too!

Li-Su Javedan: Traveling and wanted to show my MIL the interior of a needlepoint show (she lives in McLean)—what a well-stocked and organized shop; I was able to show her the variety of canvas counts and associated fibers. More importantly, the shop ladies were super friendly and helpful. Looking forward to visiting again next trip!

The owner is absolutely lovely and super helpful. The store is well stocked with an astounding array of needlework threads and flosses and wools. I found what I needed and much more - thanks for a great experience!
