Anna Banana Arts and Crafts: what do users think?

Melissa Nitti: My 2.5 year old and I both love and look forward to weekly art class at Anna Banana. Her light-filled, cozy studio is a delight and her projects are thoughtful, creative and age-appropriate. Miss Anne teaches art but also gently instills soft skills like listening, tidying up, independence etc. She’s also taken a thoughtful approach to Covid precautions - we felt safe and comfortable. Can’t say enough good things about our experience - thank you, Miss Anne!

Kami Stark: You would not believe the magic that happens in this tiny studio. Anna Banana is a mastermind of creativity and you will be AMAZED at the true works of art that your littles bring home. We have had our two kids enrolled in classes her for over 4 years. I have at least 5 pieces of their art professionally framed. In the "before times" you were able to sit in the studio and partake in class with your kid. The atmosphere is rich with creativity and wonder. I cannot recommend enough. Do it do it do it. You will keep coming back. *Oh, and it doesn't hurt that there is a Starbucks and a fancy french bakery right next door"

Quinn Dang: I would give Anna Banana Arts and Crafts 10 stars if I could! Anne is a gifted instructor and creates incredible art lessons each week. I’m amazed with each class how creative the themes are — one time we learned about Alexander Calder and stabiles and the two year olds made impressive stabiles that looked like real works of art. It’s the activity that my daughter looks forward to the most each week. One of the best classes for toddlers and a real gem in the city.

Elizabeth Lewis: My 4-year-old has loved Anna Banana! She takes art classes once a week after school and also did the summer camp there. She's learned about artists over the course of history and mimics their styles as part of the learning fun. She loves going here every week, and I recommend it highly. Anne is wonderful and caring, and my daughter adores her.

Bronwyn Dalton Clark: My 6 year old was enrolled for one semester and the experience was delightful. She came home with art that was so impressive and fun that several pieces are framed and around the house now. Anne, the teacher, has such a joyful and creative approach to teaching, children are immediately comfortable, engaged and entertained by the experience. Highly recommend!!

Samira Sabulis: Well organized, fun and creative.

Indian Craft Shop: what do users think?

Lauren Brown: Great variety of art from different tribes. The objects for sale are clearly carefully selected for their quality execution. Pieces at a range of prices. Extensive book selection. The women working here are very friendly and helpful. You won't score a major deal, but you will get a finely crafted piece at a fair market price. You will need to go inside the Department of the Interior and through security to get a visitors pass. It's in the main hallway. Look for a hanging sign. There is no signage outside of the building for the shop.

SAUNDRACARMONASHARRELL SAEONES: I LOVE SHOPING DONT U UMM UMHUM

Ace Photo: I am sure this is a five star place. Quality work with lots of books available on the topic. It just didn't have the types of Indian craft that I collect. Worth the trip to see some off the beaten path of D.C. The building it is in is worth seeing. A part of American history and current politics. Very educational.

asifalam alam: Respected sir I am from india I am supplier of sea shell handicrafts and JEWELLERY items gift box All item in sea shell if you are interested kindly csend me email asifalam929@gmail.com Iam waiting for your msg

Dave R: Wonderful craft shop selling pieces of art from many different Native American tribes. We highly recommend making a stop here during your visit to D.C.

E. Tranmoto: This is a great shop inside the department of the interior building.

A Special Lee Sewing and Craft Cafe: what do users think?

Linda Alpuche: I had bought a sewing machine during the pandemic and had no idea how to use it. Antoinette told me to bring it with me to class. During the first few projects I learned how to use it ! I like Antoinette's approach that this is a creative journey and to celebrate the successes. The pillow we made in class was small and successful. I love the bag I made. I continue to improve my skills with Antoinette's no nonsense guidance. I like the small class and the ability to work at my own pace and ask questions as a need to. I will keep coming back!
Response: Thanks so much Linda! It is my goal to provide the best sewing experience possible. I will continue to do my best for you each class!

Hannah Winsten Orenstein: Antoinette is a phenomenal teacher. I signed up for the 8-week beginner series and picked up basic sewing skills very quickly — I even went home with a finished pillow after my first class! I found the class structure really conducive to learning and retaining skills. After learning the basics the first two weeks, you work independently on a final project (with personalized instruction from Antoinette) and it helps build your confidence in using the sewing machine. The studio in Antoinette's home is also well-organized, clean and stocked with everything you would need to complete a project. Going to class is the highlight of my week and I look forward to signing up for more classes.
Response: Thanks Hanna! It was my pleasure teaching you. I aim to offer students a great learning environment especially if you are a beginner. I look forward to seeing you in the next class. All my best, Antoinette

Meaghan Byrne: I was really excited about this class off the bat, and had been looking for someone to help me get beyond the basics, which effectively where I was given that my mother sewed a lot growing up. I was fairly happy with the first class. Antoinette is nice, but strict about how fast folks move through the work. I was coming to this class after a full working week, and was often a little tired, and I felt like I was made to feel bad about this in the second class. I have to say I was quite put off by the third class. I had asked if my boyfriend could sit in the other room and wait while I did the class as we were going to dinner afterward for my birthday (which was that day). Antoinette told me he could wait in my office (which is no where nearby?) and that this class (which I paid for) wasn’t a sewing circle. I hardly think my ask was extreme: he wasn’t going to be doing any sewing. Antoinette calls me during the middle of the work day to discuss, which I was unable to pick up, but never got back to me on the question. I found this behavior a bit bizarre to be honest, and decided I’d rather not spend time in an environment that felt a little hostile. I really wish it had turned out differently as I was excited about it, but I’m a adult and I don’t expect to be treated like a child by a teacher who I have paid good money.
Response: Greetings Meaghan, it is always my intention to give the best sewing experience possible. I am sorry you didn't feel that's what you got. My policy has always been only registered students in the studio, especially during Covid. Take care! All my best, Antoinette

Lauren: I recommend this class to everyone- whether you are looking to pick up a new hobby or are wanting to become someone who sews regularly. I took classes with Antoinette for several months in the beginning of 2021, and it was the most wonderful experience. I am learning to sew with the intent to make my own clothes. During classes with Antoinette, I learned to make 2 garments as well as a pillow and tote bag. Antoinette is an amazing, patient, welcoming, and highly experienced teacher-- I can not recommend her enough!!
Response: Thanks so much Lauren! It was my pleasure. You were an awesome student! Hope to see you again in class. All the best to you!

Izy A: Ms Lee’s class was so fun! The environment is lovely, she is very thorough with her explanations, and made sure to give me space to try to figure out what I could on my own. I’ve never had a sewing class before, and now I’ve made my very own skirt and bag, and I think they came out really cute! I can’t wait to take another class with her. Highly recommend!
Response: Thank you Izy! It was my pleasure teaching you! You were awesome and I like that you were eager to understand on your own. Great job! See you soon.

Ana Avendano: I love this studio. I've completed two sessions, and can't wait for the third. Antoinette is a wonderful teacher who is passionate about her craft, and has an incredible eye for fabrics, design, color--she's an artist. She taught me to make a quilt, which required learning patience and persistence, as well as techique. She works with her students individually, and gives us support and encouragement without coddling us, and I really appreciate that because it helps me to strive to be better. I can't recommend the studio highly enough. Love it!
Response: Thanks Ana!

Nilufar Baratova: I love this wonderful oasis of creativity and fun. Ms. Antoinette is an amazing teacher, courageous entrepreneur and simply a beautiful soul who is passionate about her job. I had zero sewing skills and it is fascinating to see my transformation. I already made cool pillow covers, a cute polka dot skirt and I am working on my dress to impress project. I always look forward to my sewing classes where I can socialize with artistic people who love colors.

Paola Vidal: Took my first class today and most certainly looking forward to come back! The studio has a a great vibe, perfect to feel comfortable to work and learn. Antoinette was very nice, professional and patient. Left feeling very excited and confident about my future projects!

Renela Rucker: So thankful to have found A Special Lee Sewing Studio! I absolutely loved this sewing class. I learned so much about my sewing machine and basic sewing. With Ms. Lee’s guidance and expertise, I was able to leave the Complete Beginners Series with a handmade pillow, tote bag, my very own unique skirt, and a whole new confidence in my ability to create! I looked forward to class every week. She makes the environment very comfortable and inviting and makes sure you know that it’s okay to ask questions. Apart from the class itself, Ms. Lee is a great person. She is open, straight forward, and flexible. She shared more than sewing knowledge with me and I am grateful to have met her! I definitely plan to take more classes in the future!

Elena Butler: Great space and wonderful teacher. Ms Antoinette is attentive, kind and tailors the classes to the students’ needs. See picture of what I made during class.
Response: Thanks Elena. It was a great pleasure teaching you!

Smithsonian Associates: what do users think?

Bec215 H.: One of my earliest memories is a behind the scenes tour of the Smithsonian natural history museum at age 5. Still love the museums, but the Resident Associates programs are an amazing way to add a new dimension to life-long learning, beyond reading books or watching videos. The pandemic has made far more events accessible to us, as all content has moved to Zoom, and I hope the SA leadership will recognize the value of continuing to offer virtual programming beyond the pandemic time. As for content, we've enjoyed everything from a lecture on Mongolian history we attended a few months prior to our trip to Mongolia to beginning drawing, to a lecture on the history of American food culture since 1850. My mom is 75 and disabled, but still curious about the world and wanting to learn, and she loves loves loves these events - it gives her new things to learn and piques her curiosity about the world, and also gives her things to talk about with family and friends that enrich her social life. I've noted the lack of cultural diversity especially in the history/literature-related programming, and would like to see more Asian history and arts content. For me the issue of content diversity is separate from the value the content that they produce and the quality of it, which so far has been nothing but outstanding. Engagement is what motivates change, so I hope as membership grows and diversity expands, so will their programming.

Jennifer Gelman: My husband and I have been members of the Smithsonian Associates for quite a few years now. We almost always enjoy the programs and trips, although a few have been duds. Tonight's program was celebrating the 60th anniversary of the Sound of Music. You can attend programs without being a member, but members get discounts on all of the programs. Many of the lectures are at the Ripley Center (where the African and Asian art museums are). The lecturers are experts in their fields.

Kenya Allmond: I've attended many of the Smithsonian Associates programs over the years. They are always informative and engaging. One of my favorite programs featured an astronomer who. along with his team, examines the sky in famous paintings and could tell you the day in history that the paintings were composed. It was an excellent melding of arts and sciences.

Julia Thomas: Registered for online classes but they've been sending the zoom links to someone else's email address. Missed the classes. Customer service of no help. Wasted $200.

Eric Epstein: We have been museum members for almost 20 years. We love the culture, the talks and experience.

Georgette Dorn: Tried to through by phone or email to ask for information about Studio Art classes. No luck. Website and phone tree most unhelpful.

Bikramjeet Singh: If it will be live video then it will be awesome

Jim Blount: Awesome history of the great USA. 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸

The Art League: what do users think?

Geoff Livingston: The Art League does many great things for the artist community within Alexandria city and its suburbs. I enjoy their gallery and their contest. At the same time, my family has registered for four classes and camps in total, and they have been hit or miss. Plus the league is really bad at communications (like they don't communicate when class will start or if it will be cancelled because of snow), prompting many a nervous phone call. It's a mixed bag.

Maggie Williams: Critical: Communication, Professionalism, QualityClasses are a hit or a miss. A bit unprofessional as there was poor communication . Go to the workhouse art center in Lorton if you are looking for art classes.

C Kuester: Love the Art League. I've taken several classes here and they've been terrific.

B W: I absolutely love this school! I am moving soon and will greatly miss the instructors and even the new friends I’ve made. The instructors are very patient and are passionate about teaching. I have learned so much from attending workshops and several 9 week courses!! I wished I could pick the school up and move it to my new dwelling place, but since I can’t, I will leave an awesome review :) To all the instructors, Thank You! Thank you for giving of your time and knowledge to us the students! We are better artists of all kind because of you! I can only speak for myself, but I grew by leaps and bounds in my craft from being connected to this school! I am ever so thankful for the brilliant mind who was blessed by God to start this school years ago. The education I have received was just as good or better than paying high priced tuition at a university. I pray nothing but continued blessings upon this institution!

Kirk Sigmon: In my opinion, completely unprofessional, and the sole reason why a needy girls' charity won't be able to throw a fundraiser. I won a "corporate retreat" here through a local charity auction, and decided to use it to support a needy girls' charity in Nepal. I let my friends go for free, conditioned on them donating money to the charity. Apparently, that wasn't welcome. I quickly received a threatening call from the Art League, saying that they "never promised" an event, and even threatening to have their law firm prevent me from helping donate to charity! This isn't even to mention the other issues I had trying to set my up in the first place - endless calls to try to set it up, vagueness about what the class actually would offer, attempts to not provide the class in the first place (they kept saying their schedule was too full to offer it at any reasonable time, then offered something ridiculous like 1 PM on a weekday), etc. Needless to say, I'll try to find the charity another venue, but I feel completely scammed.

Sarah Concepcion: It's neat that you can go into an artist workshop and see what they work on. Sometimes they have public exhibitions too that can be interactive even. If you want to buy art though, the price is not cheap.

Nabil Elhalawany: I am a medical Dr. interested in Art.

Latrina Proctor-Jones: Luv Art all forms...😀

Norraine Miller, MS: Really enjoy the visit

Nicky: Great Institute

Corcoran School of the Arts & Design at GW: what do users think?

Hilda Kroll: The current exhibit has some very interesting photos, paintings, and sculpture. It would have helped so much to have some information about the pieces.

Austin Graff: The Corcoran School of the Arts and Design is in the old Corcoran Museum flanking the Executive Building by the White House. It's centrally located in Washington, D.C and a beautiful space. It's in an old building set up like a museum making the school's art shows out of this world. There are spiraling staircases, courtyards and room after room of beautifully designed art. If you get invited to an event here, say yes!

Gigi G.: Attended a graduate open house and learn a lot about the program and met some staff of other programs and they were fabulous to hear from.

Yesica Suarez: Architecturally, the buildong is awe inspiring. I think it really captures your eyes. The exhibitions for the Lone Prairie, Breaking Cultural Boundaries, Cartoons and the Color exhibitions were interesting. They definitely were trying to tell a meaningful story. I think the cartoon exhibit was successfully set up, but the others needed more content and guidance to trully unfold. There's ton of space to work with in the building so it needed to be used effectively so it wouldn't feel empty

Luis B: Corcoran School is mainly focused on promoting the arts. Friends of mine who have attended the college have had both good and bad things to say based on their experiences. One of the pros of the school is the events and gallery showings that often take place within it's walls. If you're a DC native, or city walker, you may want to check up on Corcoran and see what's going on from time to time.

Asad Jan: The Corcoran Gallery of Art was an art museum in Washington, D.C. Prior to its closing, it was one of the oldest privately supported cultural institutions in the United States capital. Starting in 1890, a museum school, later known as the Corcoran College of Art + Design, co-existed with the gallery. The museum's main focus was American art. In 2014, after decades of financial problems, the Corcoran entered into an agreement with the National Gallery of Art (NGA) and the George Washington University whereby almost all of the gallery's 17,000 work collection was placed under the care of the NGA, while the school and historic 17th street gallery building continued operations as a part of the George Washington University's new Corcoran School of the Arts and Design.

Yaser AlSaghrji: One of the architectural gems of the Nation Capital

Es K: Saw a phenomenal end of year exhibit some years ago

Nik Novakkain: So much talent and this is one of the best schools/museum

Arnold Thomas Bigger: Course selection is very good; faculty and staff are very good; and general vibe is good.

Michaels: what do users think?

Lekeisha Harris: One of my Favorite Crafting stores. I swear, you will never be disappointed!!! Like seriously, I'm always here. At least twice a week for an hour lol. But yes it's that great! I purchase all of My stickers and Happy Planners from Michael's. I love it HERE!!!❣Amazing staff and with Great Customer service. Be sure to download the app to receive updates on Daily Deals and Promotions. It doesn't get any better, Thank me Later😉

Raymond Powell: Got charged $8 for 30 minutes of parking on a weekend day. There are other locations with free parking. The store itself is fine and somewhat busy. Staff are helpful and informative to help you find what you want. There are always sales coming and going.

Rickey Anderson: They have so many wonderful items to complete any DIY craft you have in mind

Krista: This is an interesting shopping set up. If you park in the adjoining parking garage, you will be charged $8 for parking 7 days a week. I went on a Saturday evening for only a few minutes and had to pay $8 for parking. They should validate for more business because I won't be back.

Rachel Tenne Mouse La Jabraille: Excellent use of limited space. It's smaller than other stores in the chain I've visited, but the selection is comparable and the layout is efficient.

dipika: A perfectly adequate and reliable Michael's! Parking is hard to come by, though (scarce or expensive).

David Zeledon: The framing department is simply fantastic. I got three diplomas framed here and Sonya that helped me out was the best. She works meticulously and her attention to detail and customer satisfaction is second to none!! Thanks again, again.

HAPPY CRAFTY CAT: I was trying to find this paper pad at various locations in my area. However, online it says the stores in my area have them i go there and nothing. It has been two weeks and yet nothing. I was told to give it some days and i did. OFCOURSE nothing. I do appreciate the staff who went out of their way to look for it at the Wisconsin ave location. It seems there is a system mix up online as i found other crafty people have been looking for it too. The IT TEAM SHOULD FIX THIS. VERY MISS LEADING ONLINE WHEN IT SAYS WHAT LOCAL STORES HAVE WHAT IT IS THAT YOU ARE LOOKING FOR AND THE QUANTITY AND THERE IS NOTHING WHEN YOU ARRIVE TO PURCHASE IT. OTHER THAN THAT THE STORE WAS CLEAN, NICELY ORGANIZED, AND STAFF WAS FRIENDLY AND READY TO ASSIST. 💞

A'Jahan Love: Huge store and inventory. Their website is accurate for what's in stock and has the option to ship to this location. They don't have canvas stretchers or canvas rolls in store, but they do online. You can find varying sizes at Blicks store which will be cheaper by a lot.

Gwendolyn Young: Went here on 4/18/2021and found Easter supplies were 70% off! Lots and lots of it just taking up space. I did buy some Easter flowers and some other craft supplies. The don't have a huge selection of various wired ribbons. The did have some peach polka dots ribbon for $3.00 (Clearance), but I chose to wait on that one. They did have several $5.00 mystery boxes for sale, but some had been opened up. Their Clearance section in the back has been cleaned up tremendously! But I must say that they have much more beautiful flowers than the small Joanne's Fabrics that is located in Greenbelt Shopping Center. They do have some type of discount program but I truly don't know how it works. So, if you are looking for beautiful flowers, Michaels is the place. They also have a large variety of greenery! The store was almost empty when I was there.

Blick Art Materials: what do users think?

Bobby Nitty: Nice store to pick up art materials. You'll find most of the things you need. Employees were nice and helpful. They have roadside parking. Also a small lift for wheelchair etc. Neatly arranged. They also have custom framing.

Sue I: I’ve been going to art stores for 40 years and in all that time, I’ve never met a more knowledgable art supply salesperson than Sean at Blick Art Materials, DC. He gave thoughtful and useful suggestions for my art project. He also taught me how to use materials I never have used before. Sean’s professionalism and experience is outstanding. His tremendous kindness is un-matched and Blick is very lucky to have Sean representing them.

Joana O'Brien: This is by far the most extensive and "complete" art store in the D.C., Maryland and Virginia metro area. It was the only place that had a 72 Copic Sketch set (and they had all sets) in stock. We drove the near hour (instant gratification, of course) and were speechless when we walked in. I do not like shopping for pretty much anything, but I was like a little girl full of joy, wonder, imagination, giddiness and overwhelmed by all the treasures in there. My boyfriend, who loves shopping, got to the point that he was feeling a bit embarrassed by us. We spent about twice as much we had intended to. Not sure how some of those items ended up in our pile? ... also, the staff was incredibly helpful and super friendly. It is not for "just experts" or "real artists"... it's got something for everyone... and then some more!

vivian siebert: Shop with many varieties of professional products, good prices, friendly attendants but need more information about the products to help.Check products and price tags I ended up buying a product with twice the price exposed ...

Camille Murray: Love to come here the associates are very nice and knowledgeable. They really do have everything you need for beginners to advanced artist of all forms. My copic and prismacolor markers are cheaper here for me or anyone if your a member or not.

Charlotte Slaiman: Love! Staff are so helpful and friendly. That's the most important thing for me. I also love that it's open til 8, I love that it has some character. Good selection and lovely atmosphere. Yay!

Ana Delmont: Very helpful, friendly, and knowledgeable staff! Great selection of paints, canvases, brushes, and everything I needed. Just walking around the store gave me so many more ideas from their wide selection of products, and it all came out way cheaper than I expected. It’s now my go-to arts and crafts store!

Beat Ammann: Very friendly staff and a very wide variety of things, including for art projects with kids!

Jossman Garcia: Hi. Blick art materials is a nice store, I would say better than Michael’s, especially on prices. However, I went there on Saturday with my girlfriend and I left feeling very uncomfortable and unwelcome as a Latino man. I am guessing it was the manager (?), but an employee followed me as I walked through the store, asking me if I needed something/help several times even after I said “I don’t need help, thanks.” I was also taking a look at some standalone product insets (like Bob Ross products and pens) near the registers, but not going up to the registers, and I was asked by the same employee if I was ready to check out at the registers. I felt rushed to leave. It was an uncomfortable experience to feel followed around the store and alienated as a suspicious person when I would gladly pay for any product I want to purchase. Moving forward, please reflect on how you treat people who may not look like your average customer.

Antonio Scott: I'm an artist so I'm biased! My favorite thing about Blick are the large portfolio carriers. Which i customize with my comic art. Great prices too. That's the cost of a portrait kit in the ajacent photos

Amy Ruddle: JewelryClass DC has been one of the best experiences of my life! I am a jewelry maker with a small business and was looking for a way to improve my skill set to expand my offerings. Dan gave me a tour of the amazing studio, and I took his introductory class to get started. I quickly realized I wanted to do the extended study program, and that has been extremely satisfying. In the six months I’ve been working at the studio, I’ve seen my skill set grow exponentially, and I’ve now found a community of jewelers and goldsmiths who are a constant source of support and creativity. Dan continues to be available any time I have a question about a project, and he is constantly doing demonstrations of new techniques and styles. Truly an invaluable experience for any level of jeweler.

Vincent: I have been taking classes here since May 2021. The studio is very well equipped, and I always feel as though I am learning the correct way to perform any given task. The classes are challenging and sometimes I get frustrated, but I always walk away knowing that I have learned something new and created a quality piece of jewelry. Even in the frustrating times, Dan is more than willing to spend one-on-one time with students to ensure they are completing the assignments correctly. Aside from group classes, I also worked with Dan to design and fabricate an engagement ring for my fiancé. This experience was great! We were both on the same page with what we wanted to achieve. Dan was very patient throughout and made sure that we made the perfect ring for my fiancé (who also takes classes from Dan). This time was invaluable to me and the development of my skillset. -Great teacher -Great equipment -Great people

Kim Hay: Best in DC for jewelry making classes. Thirty benches, wide array of tools, methods, metals and settings. Dan is way helpful to all students in his classes!
Response: Thanks! You are a good student!

Marjorie Resnick-Waxman: JewelryClass Dc is truly a standout artists studio housed in idyllic Capitol Hill DC. It is a school run by master goldsmith Daniel Valencia. He offers workshops, classes of all levels, private sessions and these amazingly unique wedding band workshops where engaged couples can design and then forge their own meaningful masterpieces (under Daniel's watchful eye). I have witnessed many of these workshops and can honestly say there is no better way to enter into the contract of marriage than by designing your own ring. I started taking beginning workshops in August of 2019. I came with zero experience, only excitement. I quickly fell in love with the silversmithing process and signed up for the professional level extended program which is around 10 months. During that time, Daniel and his staff of exceptional teachers are there to support and guide you. You have your own bench and supplies for the contracted time (extended only) and can attend any workshop and class that is offered. If you come in for classes or workshops, you are also given tools and a bench to work with - all materials are supplied. Extended students even get to go to NYC with Dan and Laura (another wonderful Goldsmith) and connect with stone dealers in the Jewelry district. Phenomenal experience. The plus of being a student is you can come in and pay for extra bench time to work on your craft. The hours of the studio are pretty great - it's almost always open. It's an unbelievable opportunity to learn a trade in the most professional way. In fact, the studio itself is exceptional. Daniel has stocked the space with every tool you could ever want or need and he allows students to use them once they are taught the proper way. Nobody has to share their personal tools. He even has a computer screen over his teaching bench so you could watch his hands during demonstrations. When you enter the space, you are met by the coolest graffiti hallway of sayings by past and present students. The vibe is exactly what you want from a professional artists studio in the heart of a blooming community. I was able to even start my own small business selling jewelry since January. Daniel and crew have been incredible in helping me find my path and support my journey. I couldn't recommend this school or Daniel Valencia enough. Daniel is super fun and masterful. Whether you want to try a Metals 1 class to just try it or learn a trade from the very best - I suggest you come to JewelryClassDC.
Response: Thank you for the great review!

Monica K: Hands down, this is the best place to go if you want to learn how to make jewelry as a hobbyist or if you would like to turn it into a successful career. I walked into Dan's studio two years ago, thinking I was going to take one Metals I class and move on with my personal endeavors. I fell in love with the place, signed up for Metals II, and then for the extended study/ semi private study program. I was assigned to my own workbench, that was well equipped with more than what an average student would typically have (thus expanding my knowledge even more). I also received plenty of personal instruction from Dan, as well as Laura (his amazing assistant), and exchanged creative ideas/ concepts with the other students as well. The extended study program is also great, because Dan invites the students to New York City to personally meet some of the oldest and top diamond/gemstone sellers, cutters and manufacturers in the industry. This was an invaluable experience, because I established relationships with other professionals in the industry. I started out not knowing anything about creating jewelry from metal. Now I know how to create beautiful pieces of my own, and I have gained the skills and confidence to explore a career path in the jewelry industry. I have learned the correct techniques and processes of jewelry fabrication that will always ensure my final project to be nothing less than professional quality. There are also various workshops throughout the year that cover topics from flush setting, soldering, jewelry repair and etching just to list a few. Oh and let's not forget the set up and decor of the studio! Not only is Dan's studio well equipped with the most up to date machinery and tools, he also has an an array of vintage anvils and metalsmithing tools for display and some for usage. There is every tool available to get whatever task you need completed. He also uses his space to host gem sales throughout the year as well. Dan's sense of his creativity, wit and humor makes your learning experience even more enjoyable. I no longer reside in D.C., but whenever I visit, Jewelry Class D.C.'s studio is one of my second homes :)
Response: Thank you for your wonderful review Monica, we all miss you greatly and hope your London adventure is going fabulously. Dan

Stephanie Wong: I personally recommend Jewelryclassdc if you are interested in fabricating jewelry in precious metals, regardless if you are a beginner wanting to learn the creative skill or a practitioner wanting to hone your skill – you will agree with me that there is always something new to learn in jewelry fabrication! Dan Valencia and his assistants are highly experienced and encouraging, key to grow and sustain interest in a skill that requires long hours of practice. I was a beginner in metalsmithing when I started Metal l classes 2 years ago. After only a few classes, I was hooked on creating and making beautiful Sterling Silver pieces with gemstones – yes, all the pieces you create and make in class are in Sterling Silver! I took a few Metal ll classes and intensive workshops in soldering, flush setting and etching, before I enrolled for the Extended Study program that allows more days, flexible hours and private instructions at the studio. I was assigned a fully-equipped individual work bench and have access to a wide array of tools available at the studio. Jewelryclassdc is very well equipped with tools, acquired for professional and personal reasons, ranging from the latest laser welding machine to century-old antique anvils, hammers and punches. It is such a joy using the mix of high-tech and traditional tools to create the beautiful jewelry pieces. During my extended study program, I worked with Dan to design and create my own jewelry collection. I must say I have improved immensely from where I started, from having only vague ideas of what I wanted to create to realizing them into gorgeous pieces. Dan also organizes field trips to New York City once a semester for all extended study students to meet with the jewelry industry players such as gems/diamonds manufacturers and dealers – a valuable engagement especially for those wanting to build a viable jewelry making business.
Response: Thank you for the wonderful review Stephanie, you are already missed. Good luck in Singapore!!!

Charlie Held: I took the introduction to jewelry making class and it was amazing! I made three great sterling rings, copper practice ring, and a sterling bracelet and I have no experience. It was worth every penny. It will make a great Christmas or birthday gift. Just make sure you don't do what I did, "I think her rings stop about here, maybe"
Response: Thanks for the great review Charlie, great working with you too.

David Lee: Positive: Professionalism, Quality, Responsiveness, ValueDan the Man! I went into this class thinking why? Now I know why. From day 1 Dan helped me every step of the way. The value you get from the classes is unmatched from any jewelry school I’ve researched on the east coast. I’m now taking metals II and love every second of it.

Alexandra M: Dan is an excellent teacher. I started taking classes last May and kept signing up every session. Dan is very generous with his knowledge and expertise and genuinely wants his students to learn. He not only teaches the skills of metalsmithing but advises his students on many other aspects of the jewelry world such as how to purchase stones, tools and equipment. The studio is in excellent condition and we only use high quality tools. Dan's attention to detail is incredible and the classes and workshops are organized and executed so well. It feels easy, comfortable and welcoming to be there. I have taken a class with Emily as well, who is also a natural teacher and very generous with her expertise. Jewelryclassdc is a great place for short term students too. The Metals 1 class is very satisfying because you make and take home several beautiful pieces. However, I intend to be a long term student with Dan, Emily and Laura because they are genuine teachers that put a hell of a lot of effort into their students and have created an exceptional space.
Response: What a wonderful review. Thank you

Diane Millar: I just finished the Metals I intensive class and it was GREAT! I knew nothing about metal work at all, and I finished 3 rings, 2 pairs of earrings, and a bracelet. The materials we used were all of the highest quality - so all of the end products look very professional. The whole studio is really well-equipped and the class size small - so you can get lots of help, while learning the right way to do things. Dan and Emily were both great teachers - taking us step by step and answering any/all questions as we went. I really enjoyed the creative challenge of each process. Highly recommended if you want to learn how to make high quality, professional jewelry. Many thanks!
Response: Thank you for the kind words Diane, you were great fun to work with! Dan

CulinAerie: what do users think?

Ryan McGorty: Culinaerie is one of, if not, the most well-known recreational cooking school in the area. They offer a lot of different cooking instruction to aspiring cooking enthusiasts of all different skill levels. They have an online calendar that shows which classes are available and when. The classes book fast, so be ready to book if you see one you like. You can take individual classes on a class-by-class interest basis, or participate in a series of classes designed to improve your skills through a structured course. If you want to take a knife skills class, learn how to make Thai food, or even make tapas, they have a wide offering of options. The actual location consists of two instruction kitchens, with one being significantly larger than the other. The instructor leads the class through the cooking demonstration and there are overhead TVs and assistants in the room to help in case you need it. The instructor usually walks around while you are cooking/preparing food to give you tips. I went here for a date night cooking class and we had a very good experience. We learned a new recipe which we’ve cooked on our own at home. It is pretty expensive, but it made for a great experience.

Michael Alexander: We came here for my fiancé’s employer’s Christmas party. It was a fantastic! I love to cook and pursue it as a serious hobby. The instructor was great. She was patient with those who did not know techniques and gave pointers to those of us with working culinary knowledge. I will be planning a family function here in future.

M. Marzulla: We did the "Date Night: Craft Cocktails & Small Plates from Mexico City" with Eliza Gonzalez and it was fantastic! The instructions were easy to follow and the dishes were delicious! It was fun learning how to make the cocktails as well, and both instructors were super friendly and helpful! I definitely recommend signing up for one of the date night courses, it turned out to be one of the best dates we have had in a while!

Joanna Claustro: Attended a daytime class with my husband and we both had a wonderful time. The class is well organized and the menu was easy to follow -- which means we can try it again at home! The wine pairings were great (and constantly refilled!) and we were impressed by how delicious the meal turned out. We felt like professionals! We can't wait to return for another class!

The Cosmetology Coach: Positive: Communication, Professionalism, Quality, ValueI have just completed my first session of the Beginner's Series with Chef Susan Holt. I will forever use my knife the Chef way. My Wonter Vegetable Gratin was to die for....OMG...can't wait for the next session. Thanks for sharing your expertise with us.
Response: Thank you so much for your wonderful words! It was such a pleasure to have you in class, and we look forward to seeing you next week!

Mark H: We are extremely lucky to have CulinAerie here in DC. I've taken two courses--knife skills with Susan Holt, and four fabulous fish with Wendi James--and both were superb. Excellently designed, organized, and executed, with no shortage of humor and constant helpfulness. I came as a total novice and the combination of practical kitchen skills and great recipes has given me confidence to start making some of the dishes I so enjoy when made by the pros. Looking forward to the next one!

Brittany Gerig Campbell: We had a fantastic experience at the couples cooking and wine pairing class. High quality food, helpful assistants, and an instructor who was a former chef and really knew her stuff. Wine was free-flowing and we never felt rushed. Would definitely come back!

Gerrit Davis: This is a high quality service for a high quality price. I've had two really good experiences here. One suggestion (and reason for 3 stars instead of 5): do not buy a gift certificate to use if you will be in the area for less than a year. Class availability (especially in the winter) is *extremely* limited due to demand. Despite this fact, and even if your scheduled classes are cancelled, CulinAerie sticks to a rigid policy of no refunds on gift certificates.

Amanda Burkholder: We took a bread making class at CulinAerie and had a blast! The teacher was knowledgeable and clear. We made four different kinds of bread and got to take it home. The class took about three hours, which included instruction, mixing, kneading, and baking the bread. They served complimentary wine, coffee and tea during the class which was a great touch. We will definitely take a class from CulinAerie again!

Vanessa: Took a french macaron class over the weekend. It was actually a really fun experience! The macarons came out so much better than I anticipated! I thought for sure we would bomb the recipe. What makes this experience fun is sitting at the same table with fun friendly people :) The chef was good, though a bit curt. The staff that was helping was really nice. I would definitely come back to do this again. Great date night idea, or something fun to do with friends.

Village Art & Craft USA Inc: what do users think?

Adria Griffin: Had an excellent experience here! The owners are incredibly friendly and helpful. My husband and I needed ready-to-wear clothes for an upcoming Indian wedding and they had a large selection and many colors. They were patient and attentive even when I was having trouble deciding on a lehenga. We came up from Richmond and would definitely make the trip again. Worth the trip for excellent service and fair prices.
Response: Thank you very much 🙏🙏💐

Larissa Sheehan: Owners are incredibly helpful with any questions and making the best selections for your event.

Amrit Chohan: Great shopping experience. A lovely shop with a variety of handicrafts, scarves, stoles, jewelry etc. that make good unique gifts. The owners were very pleasant and helpful and the prices are reasonable. I would highly recommend it!
Response: 🙏

WERNER PFLEGER: BEWARE OF FALSE ADVERTISING, they sell a scarf made of polyester in china as a kashmere shawl made in nepal, far overprized for $ 40 . When I pointed that out owner got angry at me. So be sure you know what you buy, no returns once sold.
Response: Thank you very much hope you have safe holiday, we pray god hope new Year Brings lots of happiness in life

Liliana Mendez: Owners are very friendly and helpful. I bought an amazing runner which will surely enhance my home. Thank you!
Response: 🙏

Dana Rodriguez: Came to this beautiful shop, with wonderful owners. Lovely handicraft and service. We will return.
Response: 🙏

Anna Russell: It's fun to stop by (once) if you like eastern-style items, especially clothing. I personally find their products to be pretty cheap in quality, from the jewelry to the fans, which break all the time. Almost everything is super duper pricy, if that! This one girl kept trying to sell me a super cheap on-sale poofy prom dress that was way over-sized for me, saying I can't find anything like it anywhere else (totally untrue).

chris W: Best shop in dc! Would recommend. They have all sorts of pipes, blunts, water pipes, dresses, scarfs, traditional clothing, authentic statues all sorts of products. great prices and great customer service

Carter Johnson: Very nice costumer service, friendly and polite. They have a very large range of glass pipes and accessories, tapestries, and Indian traditional clothing. I love this store very much. A+

Brandi Ford: Absolutely beautiful & reasonably priced clothing. Amazing customer service! Im so excited to wear this tonight!

Workhouse Arts Center: what do users think?

Austin Graff: As a history nerd, I geek out about places like Workhouse Arts Center. It's a former prison redeveloped into a community for the arts. Here's what you should know before visiting: 1) History: The arts center is part of the 3,2000-acre campus of an early 20th century prison called the D.C. Workhouse and Reformatory. At the time, it opened as a model for prison reform envisioned by President Teddy Roosevelt. Over the years, it become more of a working camp with the last prisoner exiting in 2001 before it closed for good. The campus is being redeveloped into many things, but the Workhouse Arts Center was one of the first to open in the old prison in 2008. 2) Space: It's definitely set up like the old prison with several Colonial Revival brick buildings flank a large green space. Each brick building houses art galleries and centers that offer classes from ceramics to glass blowing. There's also a small museum about the prison's history and plaques outside explaining the history. 3) Art: Several of the buildings have art on them, including several murals throughout the campus. It's fun to find them all, especially the older murals. 4) Events: On top of the art classes, the arts center hosts events throughout the year. For example, during Halloween, they host a haunted house experience. If you're into history and the arts, the Workhouse Arts Center is the perfect marriage!
Response: Wow Austin! We very much appreciate your glowing review! Thank you and we hope to see you at the Workhouse again soon!

Linda Bishop: Very friendly artists. Lots of interesting artwork & history: facility where suffragettes were emprisoned. Photos taken at Occoquan Park, nearby suffragette memorial.

Petrina Lincoln: Great experience seeing the musical xanadu. My 12 year old and 2 year old both enjoyed it also

#photohoag: Work House arts center, what an amazing change from old prison to supporting the arts and giving back to the community. There really does seem to be something for everyone. You really should check out the website and find something to try.

Kat Fred: Fun place to watch artists work and support their art by purchasing items for sale there. Interesting museum is on site about the prison that used to be located there with history about women's suffrage. You can take various art classes along with yoga and other fun art movement classes.

Scott Ewing: Arches Gallery in building 9 has some beautiful pottery

Cyborg82SS: Take kids here for art class. Cool they still have the bldg the original way and setting. You can walk around and just explore.

Judith Ann Arnold: Huge spaces for a variety of gallery favorites! Wonderful positive vibe. Friendly service & enjoyed the gift shop as well

Shelly Durkee: Fascinating place and history! Worth a stop!

Cindy Romero: The coolest experience on a rainy Saturday. My toddler, mom and me had so much fun perusing the various artist galleries and it was great to see so many talented women artists especially. A good mix of diverse art mediums. The icing on the cake though was the amazingly hospitable and warm staff in the cafe in the visitors center. They had a delicious selection of food and simply perfect hot chocolate that hit the spot on a rainy day. They were so accommodating to my rambunctious toddler, even playing with her and making her special drinks. She had such a blast. The cafe is a must and will have you leaving with warm vibes.
Response: Thank you so much for the kind words! We are happy your experience at the Workhouse Arts Center was so awesome and hope you come back soon! Check out our classes and camps for your young one and maybe you can find a good fit! https://reservations.workhousearts.org/

Renwick Gallery of the Smithsonian American Art Museum: what do users think?

Lin Romano: Loved loved loved it! Wonderful exhibit on Burning Man when we visited, along with other great exhibits that took a bit less space. The gallery is such an intimate yet roomy space that any exhibit could be staged well there. As part of the Smithsonian it's also free, which is nice, too.

Kersten Chisti Dryden: We went to see the Burning Man exhibit. Beautiful gallery, with lots of different rooms. We easily spent 3 hours in here, there was so much to take in, on all sensory levels. Lots of interactive art, including a VR experience, and a carved wooden chapel with little pieces of wood that you can write to loved ones who have passed, and add to the exhibit. Very well produced, all together.

Pakeezha: This is one of my favorite museums. It’s easy to get there and pretty small and they change their exhibitions in every few months which makes you want to go and visit more often. It’s always fascinating seeing the new designs. it can get crowded at peak times but they control the amount of people that can enter which is very nice.

Lauren Brown: I visited the Burning Man exhibit and was blown away by the quality and scale of the work. The art became more powerful when given context and story with the effective displays. It was well placed in the space. It's a smaller museum, but well worth the visit. The gift shop was well curated.

Miss Guided: I visited the burning man experience. My niece and I wanted to be the simulator experience. The nasty worker said was very rude and nasty. Other than that the exhibit was amazing. I cannot take people’s action in account for how wonderful the museum is. Definitely a must see!!! It wasn’t too crowded on the Monday we went which was Labor Day. It was difficult to get some good picture of the mushrooms because of the crowds but still enjoyable. The exhibit is very tranquil and nice.

Sam Eldredge: This museum is perfect for those with a bit of extra time to spend in their day and nothing to fill it with. It's not overwhelmingly large making it easy to see all of the various pieces and exhibits. Also the floor format is circular allowing for easy circulation and no dead ends. There are staff around each corner for questions and beat of all, it's free!

Ashton Menefee: Really cool museum to hit when in DC, awesome rotating exhibits. We saw the Burning Man, Dustin Farnsworth, and Crime Scene Diorama exhibits on a few visits. It’s an easy walk from anywhere in DC, close to the White House, and worth a stop if you want to see something different.

K A: I visited the Renwick Gallery with my family last fall and i was impressed with all the beautiful and extraordinary exhibits. The David’s best temple caught my gaze with its glow and I also love the disrupting Craft. A great museum rich in history and packed with lots of exceptional crafts. It’s a must see if you are visiting DC. I highly recommend to all tourists, locals, craft and art lovers.

H J: The burning man exhibition was on when we attended and it was a really good one. The space within the museum was used really well and the exhibits combined interactive, traditional and contemporary style pieces that appealed to the whole family. Definitely worth a visit once you are done with the White House! Recommended

Allison Lau: One of my favorite places to visit in DC because of it's in-depth content and "larger than life" installations. The gallery is small enough where you can digest everything thoroughly without getting overwhelmed. Detailed descriptions accompany the art pieces. Each room encompasses a different installation. The Burning Man exhibit has been eye-opening, and includes a comprehensive history and future expectations of this whole movement.

Plaza Artist Materials & Picture Framing: what do users think?

cq ny: With Plaza Artist Materials I found a strong competitor to Blick. A great selection of notebooks for sketching, drawing and watercolor that I used to only find on Amazon but now I can buy here in person. Stop by this store for sketching, drawing and painting supplies. They also have canvases and supplies for oil and acrylic art, knitting, and other art mediums that look interesting. Staff are really friendly and helpful. Prices seem reasonable.

david hawksford: These are the worst people to deal with. Very unfriendly It's like being in a mortuary having a deal with these people. At least they have some supplies.

Will Edwards: Has frames and some basic art supplies. Nothing super special

Jon Fisher: Fantastic store with a great selection of products and very helpful and friendly staff who helped us find everything and give us advice on which materials to purchase for an art class.

Shadawn Duncan: Since starting my venture into being an artist, I spend so much the in there they know my name. I can always ask questions and get guidance and tips because all of the staff have an artist's background. Makes it easy to shop.

Georgia Hronek: I don't know a lot about art but the staff helped me out in finding my supplies. It seems like they had an okay selection except the store overall was small. I think if you're looking for something specific you might want to check their website first to see if they have it. By the way the DC angel wings mural is on the side of their building just as an FYI. I was happy with my overall experience so I'll go back to get more art supplies for my drawing class from the store. I'm not an artist though so I can't speak to how good their prices are.

Laura P: The store was bright and clean, with helpful but not intrusive or hovering staff and a very good selection of watercolor paints, paper and brushes, and many more things that I did not peruse as carefully. I had a groupon, which was awesome, since I could easily have spent much more than I did. Definitely worth checking out!

Waldo Strange: Helpful staff, good assortment of products, clean and well organized. They have a loyalty program that is free to sign up for. Dinged a star, though, because their prices are a bit high in my opinion. Would like to see better deals at least on store brand things.

Poro Mitoto: I love this location. I first started going because of the Groupon coupons that I kept seeing pop up in my recommendations. The staff is super friendly and the guy who was working the cash register the past two times that I've been went out of his way both times for me. He even helped me sign up for their savings and gave me coupons. I wish I remembered his name.

Katie E: Fantastic selection at this art store and a wonderful staff eager to help you find what you need. Their ranges of materials and the brands they carry are extensive. This place became my new go-to after Pearl closed down. I've gone in for everything from fabric dye to pens/markers, pencil sets, pads, clay-work items, etc and not once have I walked out without exactly what I was looking for. If you're looking to cut down on costs, they also have an email list that's chock full of coupons.

Michaels: what do users think?

Hilda Kroll: It's a good time to shop with clearance signs all over the store. I ended up buying a bunch of beautiful artificial flowers for 70 per cent off. Very helpful and friendly service.

Sam Odle: Came here to get several items framed for my mom’s birthday, the employees were extremely helpful and the end product was perfect! My initial reaction was that it was a bit pricey but she absolutely loved it so I can’t complain.

Dark Rider: It smelt like toes and pickles that were saturated for 3 years and then put into a cheese box. I thought I head Ariana grandee but it was just my mother singing. I also saw an Elmo cosplayer with a furry and the moon was up too. Maybe it was a werewolf...…guess ill never know....My dads beard disappeared like him btw....

brian ng: I have enjoyed this company lately, because my daughter is needing to get things for school projects. Use the rewards program and any coupon you can find.

L Z: BEWARE OF FRAMING DEPT! Do not have fine art pieces mounted here. They will ruin original pieces by using glue in the process which creates long term and permanent damage. If you ever wish to reframe a piece you will find that your artwork is glued to to the matting and frame rendering the piece unusable.

MkMG09: - friendly staff - lots of a selection to choose from - love all the Halloween stuff - good Price's and coupons all the time - nice location - pretty organized layout

C Hamilton: Affordable items can be found in the clearance boxes. Clean store and friendly staff. Not like the Michaels I'm used to need more variety.

M. Torres: Very clean establishment with a two-floor setup. They have many things, but this isn't a very large Michael's, so finding what you need can be limiting. For instance, there isn't a fabric section, although they have a very small area with .5yd fabrics and smaller fabric sizes. The stars means okay, and not bad. It's just such a limited selection of things compared to it's competitor that I wouldn't come here for anything.

Nicholas Crawford: Great store. Lots of great deals. Love the two floors. Sophia at the register was so kind and patient. She was all by herself with a line and a phone that she was responsible for answering. She juggled all of her responsibilities very well and we greatly appreciate her attitude. I do not appreciate that she was all by herself and responsible for answering the phone on a busy day. You should staff more employees at the registers. Sophia handled it well but she shouldn't have to do it all alone. It's not fair to your employees.

N.E. Coviello (necworld): Great experience at Michaels in Bradley Plaza, Alexandria. Gary in the custom framing was super knowledgeable & helpful.

India Art & Craft: what do users think?

Ana: This place is great, my husband and I were invited to a wedding and we decided to go to the store because of the good reviews and it did not disappoint us. The owner and his father are very helpful and nice, everyone loved our outfits and kept asking where we got them from. We would recommend them to anyone looking for high quality and affordable Indian traditional clothing.
Response: Thanks 😊 .

Emily Benson: Vijay has a huge selection and was very helpful and patient! We are going to an Indian wedding and were overwhelmed with the choices online and so we visited our neighborhood shop instead. Vijay has so many choices (at all different price levels), and it's great to see everything in-person and try the clothing on. He has tons of sizes, colors, etc. We highly recommend it!
Response: Thanks 😊.

Johlize McNeil: Great selection of Indian clothes at different price ranges! I was shopping for a wedding and was able to get everything I needed. They sell full sets as well as individual items which allowed me to complete some outfits I had. The service is incredible and they do a great job listening to determine what you are looking for. I cannot recommend this store enough!!
Response: Thanks 😊.

HippyDippy Trippy: I was looking for something affordable, pretty & bright in silk, in size 12 (US size). This shop did not disappoint! The shopkeeper was incredibly kind and helpful. I fit a size 42-44 nicely. There were plentiful options. I feel so elegant! Like a celestial fairy 🧚🏻‍♀️ Thank you Vijay 🙏
Response: Thanks 😊.

Kai Ebnother: This shop is a hidden treasure! They have jewellery, dresses, clothing for men’s and much more to discover. The shop owner was very friendly and professional, he helped out with choosing my shirts and kimono purchases. I definitely recommend this place I’ve you visiting the Woodley neighbourhood.

Gayle Bates: When I first found this website I went a little bit crazy and ordered some of everything. The merchandise is authentic from the clothes to the absolutely beautiful tapestry wall hangings. I was going to a wedding and found some beautiful jewelry to wear that was so unique that it was commented on and noticed all night long. I can't wait to come back to purchase some more items.
Response: Thanks.

Amorah Shakti: WARNING: They’re Crystal jewelry is fake!!! Also most of their garments are made from very cheap material and are marked up excessively. I drove from Richmond, VA to shop for some Indian garments and was rushed through my entire shopping experience during opening hours. The owners said they wanted to close the shop and eat some lunch… I’m compassionate, but I too was under a time crunch. I regretfully paid the shop three times the amount for the garments I purchased only because I needed them. I do not recommend the shop and caution anyone who visits.

Lucy Watson: I drove an hour each way after reading the positive reviews for this store and it did not disappoint! Vijay was amazing—so friendly, patient, and extremely helpful. I am a size 14-16 US and there were plenty of options for me to try on. I left with a gorgeous outfit, shoes, and handbag for the sangeet I am attending. I can’t wait to wear my outfit! The prices were very reasonable too! If you need traditional Indian clothing, I highly recommend this store!
Response: Thanks 😊.

Hypnosis by Quatae: Amazing customer service! The two gentlemen that helped me both times I visited here were so accommodating. They helped me pick out an outfit and everything to complement it all at an affordable price! I was excited for my outfit for a gala that was hosted in DC. Thank you so very much for your customer service!
Response: Thanks 😊

Dave Phillips: My sister wanted to have everything about her wedding here as close to traditional as possible. We were all more than overwhelmed with how beautiful she looked in her authentic lehenga set. The embroidery was stunning. You can tell family is #1 at this family-oriented establishment.
Response: Thanks 😊.

Cozymeal Cooking Classes: what do users think?

Valerie Damond: Last night twelve members of my family experienced a truly remarkable Spanish dinner. Chef Greg presented us with a very relaxing and utterly delicious meal. Every course was beautifully displayed and clearly constructed with the best ingredients. He and his helper served us and left the kitchen immaculate. If you would like to experience an expertly crafted Spanish cuisine, I highly recommend Chef Greg.

D H: I had my Cozymeal event today. I have never participated in an online cooking class before, and I must say it was great! My daughter and I took the class making the Chinese dumplings with Chef Li. Chef Li was great and while making the recipes really gave good information on the Chinese culture and the different types of substitutions to use in the event you are not able to get a specific ingredient. She made suggestions regarding kitchen utensils and made sure that all of us were on track with her during her instruction. My only difficulty was with the recipes being in grams and not in US measurements. It would be nice to have both listed. I live in a very rural area and this option of online cooking classes is such a welcome experience. I would definitely take another class!!

Benjamin Bowden: Really enjoyed having Chef Tiffany cook for my girlfriend and me. Great food, great conversation, and a generally excellent evening. One note: she arrived 45 minutes prior to the scheduled arrival time, when nobody was home. Her early arrival was a positive, as the meal took a few hours to prepare, but Cozymeal should communicate better with the clients about true arrival time. Bottom line: Tiffany provided an excellent French meal, all cooked from scratch, with fresh ingredients. Moreover, there were leftovers! Really looking forward to my next Cozymeal experience.

Alison Ponzi: We had an evening full of freshly made pasta, bruschetta, and bread pudding with Chef Tiffany. I bought a KitchenAid mixer last year with the pasta attachment, and she was open to teaching me how to use it. She also worked with us on our likes/dislikes allowing us to choose a different appetizer. All in all it was a successful night with great food, company, and conversation.

Grace Morrissey: I loved the class. Chef Li's technique was easy to understand. I just need to practice more. I am making the dumplings again this week. They were delicious. The cabbage salad won a big spot in my heart..., I will make it often. Looking forward to do another class with Chef Li

Steven Sacks: Positive: Communication, Professionalism, Quality, ValueMy girlfriend and I took the Festival of Indian Flavor with Chef Manjiri. It was such a wonderful experience - she clearly explained the agenda for the class, told us about herself, explained all the ingredients, and then helped us through all four recipes with both laughter and fun. What a great time!

Theano Kampani: Really enjoyed having Chef Greg cook for my husband and me. Great food, and great conversation! We highly recommend Chef Greg and his Spanish dishes. The star of the menu was the dessert for us :)

Kathleen Norwood: This was a wonderful experience. Chef Gustavo was a delightful host and instructor He shared knife and preparation tips as well as the history of the food. The food was muy rico and we came away with many tips to make prep easier and food tastier for making a yummy paella as well as other dishes. Chef Gustavo created a welcoming, warm and relaxed evening. Thank you, Chef Gutavo!

Jeanne Liu: We took the Festival of Indian Flavors class with Chef Manjiri and it was wonderful! She explained everything and her recipe was fast and not intimidating. What we made was so delicious and I can't wait to try out one of her other classes. Do not hesitate to book one of Chef Manjiri's classes!

Niki Holmes: We had an amazing experience with Chef Judith. Her recipes were easy; we had great company; and the Chef taught us some very useful techniques. --Plus--The food tasted so delicious!

JOANN Fabric and Crafts: what do users think?

Karen Smith: Found everything I needed in one trip. The sales associates were not only very helpful, but very available and plentiful; which, doesn't happen much these days. I didn't realize how much I missed a well organized craft store until I came into joann fabric's.

Life with Kia: Following clients around the store. Manager was really rude. Denied our purchase for 20 minutes. Treated people of different races differently. Locked us in the store. I will never come back to this store., there are plenty of other Joann fabrics to shop.

Brenda MujigaeSalang: Very well organized store, so many great things to look for too!

KMB: I’ve always had a great relationship with the establishment as a whole, but this store was so disrespectful to me, friends, and comrades. I want to play devils advocate for them so bad but what they did was so disrespectful! We spent thousands of dollars here and they were trying to kick us out by closing they’re cutting booth and we’re following us all around making sure we didn’t steal. Let me mind you, there was a white couple who they treated so well. Obviously I am a person of color making a comment like this, but that’s so unprofessional and disrespectful! They even locked us in the store! Who does that?! They said that it was so no body else walks in… how are we supposed to walk out then? Make it make sense. No sense = nonsense. They were even talking about my friends and comrades in a different language so we wouldn’t know what they were saying. Very disrespectful and I’m very disappointed in this store.

My-Self S: Miss Keneisha 10+ she was amazing , I drove all the way from Virginia to the store, sense that was the only store that was showing that has Cricut mugs available. When I got there I could not find any on the floor. I passed by Miss Keneisha and ask her about it she told me everything was at the front. I when to the front and the cashier said there did not have any. I when back to the website and it still was showing that there had 16 left. Miss Keneisha saw me looking around and said that she will help me after she is done with a customer. Few sec later she came and ask me to show her what I was looking for, after that she checked again and said she will look in the back sense she could not find any on the floor either. She left and few min later ,came back with a big box of all 16 mugs. I was so happy I was jumping out of the joy from inside. What I want to say thank you Miss Keneisha for going out of your way to help me find the mugs. I appreciate it so much.

Tiffani Makala: HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE and extreme racist customer service reps. Very inappropriate communication that made me feel uncomfortable . They locked the doors so we wouldn’t be able to exit. Will not be returning again. Do not recommend. Was absolutely racial profiling. We not shop there again

Aurelie Boissy: You can find lots of crafts and art goods. Staff is friendly. You may find yourself waiting a bit longer in line since I often only see one cashier open.good and affordable price; they often have coupons if you sign up on their app.

Moniya Brockington: They were VERY disrespectful to me as a black person. They were very impatient and gave very poor customer service. They also were following us around the store, as if we would steal. They were EXTREMELY unorganized and tried to rush us.

Bri “The Mezzo Maven” Cooper: I started going here holiday season 2020. I ended up buying my entire holiday decor from here! The prices are great! There is always a sale! I love that the collections are very unique. I should mention the sales associates. One time I wanted to make a hat for a high tea. The sales associate asked me a few important questions "have I done this craft before?" She had the best shortcut idea and it looked AMAZING! The other day I was in therr for fall crafts and guess what? IT WAS STILL FALL!! Great selection and again the sales rep was very helpful and friendly to all of his customers.

Shelbi LUCAS: This one is a bit messier than the other Joann's I've visited. It is one of the smaller ones. Though, I've been to a small one in Ohio and they always seem to have it together. Also, it seems the person at the register (may be the manager) kept my coupons that print out with the receipt.😕 Just so you know this one is inside the mall and down stairs. So there's two mall entrances you can use to get to it.
