University of the District of Columbia Community College (UDC-CC): what do users think?

Henok D: The most terrible school I have ever been to. Both the main campus and the Community college are the same. A lot of slow, unprofessional, and rude staff who keep yelling at students when they are not even doing their jobs properly. I submitted a certain paper to the Financial Aid office and they told me they lost the paper after weeks that I had to pay about $1700 out of pocket. During the 2020 Pandemic, I tried to contact them as I was having difficulty to waive the Student Insurance that is provided through the school because I already had an insurance coverage; no one answered my call until it was due. And now Miss Gaskon told me that I have to pay about $1300 for the coverage I never needed. Mis Gascon was there in 2018/19 when I had the same issue; she helped me waive it then. I could not go to her office in 2020 be a of Covid restrictions. I tried to solve the issue communicating with them but nothing got better yet. I would not recommend anyone to go the UDC unless one needs a headache. I cannot deny that there are some great Professors such as Prof. Sonnie Abebaku. However, individuals are very helpful to us, it’s overall experience at the university that makes a difference in our academic lives. So far, my overall experience is just TERRIBLE!

Yesly Turcios: GLEN DOMINA rudest person ever if you are working under a facility and a Student is inquiring on information/assistance you should be able to provide that at your upmost ability but unfortunately that was not the case here..

Danny Hirschfield: I graduated UDC-CC with an AA degree in Liberal Studies Fall Class of 2015 Alumnus. This college really helped me develop my learning skills as I am an older non-traditional student that started as a freshman with very little prior knowledge and discipline in academia. I have transitioned to the UDC flagship campus pursuing my BA degree in Political Science as a pre-law student. This university is the most affordable place to get a good quality education being the only public higher learning institution in Washington, D.C.

Jamilya Allen: Okay So I applied about 3weeks to a month ago and I’ve yet to receive any papers informing me if I was missing any documents or etc. I’ve called at least 5 times a day for about two weeks straight leaving voicemail after voicemail and no one has yet to return my call not only did I call multiple times I have also emailed them multiple and no response. It’s ridiculous what’s the point of having an admissions office if they not even going to pick up the phone, guide you in the process of being admitted or anything else like you guys get paid to do nothing it’s sad.

h T: This University has only good professors! But getting a Bachelor from the UDC will not get you a job!! Their jobs faire is just to get a website from the companies and brochures lol!

Jordan Stewart: The financial aid lady with gray hair and dreads is disrespectful af. Most of the staff here are disorganized and rude. I disenrolled 2 months ago. When I went to disenroll the lady was eating crab legs in front of me. Come to find out she never really disenrolled me, and I had to go back up there today. Smh. I really wanted this to work bc I’m a Dc Resident but I’m enrolling at PGCC.

University of the District of Columbia: what do users think?

Carolyn Taylor: This was a enjoyable experience, the seating was great for Covid safety . I would definitely attend an event here again

angel almonte: One of the best experiences I have had as a student. The professors were extremely helpful in guiding me to obtain an education . The facility is improving and they have an excellent student center. The student body is very a diverse population. The administration staff are as friendly. as you are to them. In other words if you act a fool than expect to be treated as one. 😊

C. M.: Took Spanish classes here for one year. I regret slacking on my Spanish.

Washington Adventist University: what do users think?

Jason Beharry: Got pointed in the right direction when I needed a copy of some medical records.

Kate Jefferson: This school is one of the worst school I have seen, the administrative staffs are nonchalant about one’s future and keep running the business to the ground, they neglect their responsibilities and the school gives no career assistance. Good employees with excellent communication skills had their contract terminated since the school downsized. Also, foreign students are neither offered relief, grant or scholarship funds. In addition, one can never get in touch with a contact person either through calls or emails as they will never respond. I will advise one invests in a better school especially if you are an international student as you will benefit from the outcome. Attending this school is a big regret, since they’ve continuously proved me right, they waste time in preparing immigration documents, never respond to emails or calls and you might end up losing a good job offer.Lastly, the administrative staffs have no God-like characters and forget they were once immigrants. This is my experience therefore, I won’t advise international students to attend this school since we are seen to be non-existent. Nevertheless, the academic staffs are really nice. This is my awful experience, can you guys try and improve especially during this COVID season.

Lashawn H: This school is REQUIRING ALL STUDENTS AND ALL STAFFS TO BE VACCINATED with NO WAIVER that’s terrible people have medical issues that they cannot get the vaccine because it will causes serious reaction and what happen to my body my choice I would not go to a school that does not premier choice! ‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️

Sofia Requena: Vaccines should not be mandatory, especially in an adventist university!!!

Christopher Meier: Expected far greater from a “Christian” institution. Perhaps it may be an administrative issue but I was disappointed with my experience.

DeAndre Barnwell: The computer science department is good it just needs more full time professors.

Mikki Talley (mikkitphd): Classes are overpriced and they handle student debtors like loan sharks do gamblers.

Trinity Washington University: what do users think?

Sharon Winget: The pool and gym are well equipped and clean. Locker room is spacious and clean. Friendly, welcoming place.

Chaturbhuj bhojwani: Excellent Education institute.

ANNA: I am a current student at Trinity Washington University and I definitely don’t feel the same way about this school, as i did a few months ago when I started. The school isn’t the worst but I would not say that you get the feeling of a good college experience. I am currently thinking about transferring to another school. So that I don’t create a long review for others to read I will give a bullet overview of what does on/why i want to leave: - The administration as a whole are not very cooperative, nor do they know how to really help you. Advisors just repeat the same information that you could have found in the Trinity website. - The food is NOT good. I have seen dining hall workers take food from the dining hall and take it over to the deli which is one building away and charge more for it. They give you a better sandwich if your using flex dollars, but they give a basic sandwich if your using your meal plan. - Security is not consistent, they pretty much let anyone on campus and don’t ask the necessary questions before having a car proceed to drop off/pick up or parking. - There are no water fountains in the freshman dorm, which i feel is a health hazard. I feel, if they can get a dollar out of me then they will. It’s either $1.25 - 1.75 for a bottle of water in the freshman building, and Laundry is $1.50 to dry and another $1.50 to dry. My first semester of freshman year it was clear that the dean didn’t like my professor so she would try and get us to say things negating about her, she would observe her teaching more than i’ve ever seen, and before the second semester was to start she quit. Trinity is nice in the brochures, and online, but if you come here you will soon realize unfortunately everything is not as it seems.

Malik Freeman: Beautiful campus just a few miles from DC. A great place to meet, eat and sleep.

Xavier Hodge: I have nothing nice at all to say about this awful school. Well, the professors are good and caring. The school administration is the worst! although I am only a few semesters away from graduating with a 3.8 GPA or better, I absolutely regret going here. I wish I could change my alma mater. I am ashamed of being a "soon to be" graduate from this school. I will NEVER recommend this place to a prospective student. I have NO desire to ever participate in any Trinity related alum activities... If they ever reach out to me, I will do all I can to NOT use profanity when saying "HELL NO!"

Hiwot Tadesse: the worst school i have ever been to. All they care about is the money they get from you. the staff are no help at all. community collage appears to be better. the professors are good but the people in the office are rude and mean and all they do is sit around while they drink coffee and talk about their personal life. for any question i asked the answer i got was "I dont know". i am glad i left when i had the chance.

The George Washington University: what do users think?

Quinn Peters: This university is ruled out as a possible location for my children to attend. As long as that fraud of a justice Clarence Thomas has a professorship here, I’ll never give this place a red cent and I’ll pray every day for it’s ultimate failure.

Dominick Withanachchi: Love the way its situated. If you like a university in a big city, this is one of the best.

Garth Hedley: Amazing complex, beautiful buildings and friendly atmosphere.

Steven Zimmerman: an outstanding University for our son to obtain his Masters in Public Health

Anthony Scott: While the food was descent, the service was so so. Once the cashier finally paid attention to us and we were able to order, she was very friendly. But prior to taking our order, she continued to talk to another employee and chat about non work stuff and ignore customers. The sweet potato fries and grasshopper shake were very good.

Taylor Fain: Very disappointed in their response to covid. Forcing students who have children to go back into classes of 150 people. Very irresponsible and not taking safety seriously.

Georgetown University: what do users think?

Da-Wang Wu: I have several talented colleagues who graduated from Georgetown University, so I always want to visit this school. The campus is very beautiful, especially with the fall foliage. It’s a nice half-day trip to visit the university, the shopping area (mainly on M Street), the canal and the waterfront park.

Danny L: Must place to visit if you are visiting DC. Lots of things to do around the university. Great place for photography and sightseeing. Plenty of Restaurants around that area. You would love it.

David Gilbank: I fulfilled a lifelong ambition when I came to Georgetown to see where The Exorcist was filmed. I particularly wanted to throw my self down the stairs that featured in the finale. Obviously that could cause terrible damage, so I through a soft toy down instead. See photos. Its a brilliant beautiful neighbourhood. Well worth a visit.

Mj Dillenburg: Great graduation ceremonies! Except for the 95 degree heat and humidity....it was beautiful.

Russ Watts: Excellent university, superb perspective on the political realm, mindful about the Jesuit values.

Enric Piferrer Torres: We stopped for a quick walk around the university buildings, and it was worth it! It reminded me of Harry Potter somehow. Beautiful main building. We parked outside for free in a 2 hour parking (no meter). The neighborhood is beautiful too

Justin Ahearn: So charming and beautiful. Feel like I’m going to get culture of Washington DC and the people that I meet are great

Washington DC VA Medical Center: what do users think?

Tri Love: For the most part my experience with the VA have been good. Sometimes the call and appointment lines take forever and hang up, and sometimes the personnel I speak to are grumpy but overall the service is good, the ER is relatively efficient, I can reach my Dr or their team with ease, and, aside from one ER incident with a certain Dr. I feel heard and well treated. My medications come fast, and the variety of programs is nice. Thank you for your service !

Ashton: My first experience in the cafe was terrible. Taco Tuesday at 12 noon they run out of 5+ items that up make the taco bar. Only meat, cheese and lettuce was left. The problem escalated when the cashier told me I was “entitled” for inquiring about a discount considering they discounted the food. He said “well, you still ordered it”, and even tried to charge me more than the set price. When asked about it he said he was told to charge that price yet adjusted the total to the original amount listed. I spoke with Kevin (manager) to oversee this unacceptable behavior. This service was despicable. As it is acceptable to say no, it is not acceptable to dishonor and disrespect anyone. The attitude was undeserving and unprofessional.

Artis Baskin: My most enjoyable and professional VA visit ever. I am a patient at the Yellow Clinic and had my appointment on FRI 15 APR 2022 w/ Dr. Benton. Routine physical and continued evaluation of service-connected issues. The Medical and Lab Technicians were cheerful, polite and engaging and the Phlebotomist Tsedey was amazing. Great visit...thank you for your service!

Lauren Harcarik: Every *single* time I try to call to make an appointment, I am on hold for 20+ minutes. Several times I have been unexpectedly disconnected - even after speaking with someone - and, thus, have to call and wait again. I have been hung up on at least three times (and I just moved to this area). This is the worst of 4 VA systems at which I have been enrolled to receive care. I needed an appointment for a pap smear, and the patient call operator said, "they are not taking new patients," then hung up on me. Thank god I am not forced to rely strictly on VA healthcare, and I will look elsewhere to receive care; however, there are patients who have no other options, and this answer is completely unacceptable.

Mr. Robinson1911: The worst! We lay our lives in the this country and this is our reward. How does one ask for an appointment in May and we are told that we can be seen in January of the next year. Honestly, I don’t think some of the medical personnel is knowledgeable about their craft and they are numb to what some of us really need. This is apart of the reason all of the armed forces are low on numbers…..who wants to serve a country to be rewarded with care from people who really don’t care about you. We are just numbers and the actions of the staff justify us feeling this way.

Emily Breining: VA - where support staff rides out a fed position & does the least in your favor. #1 Know your patient advocate team, keep track of your doctors(they come & go being in a large city.) Know that as a patient you have rights to accurate documentation & efficient service. Keep the VA accounatble for poor service.

Frank Bachman: Dr. Kreitman has an incredible team, which further complements the entire facility and its people. Unbelievably organized, runs like a clock. Add in knowledgeable, caring, polite, genuine people and it all adds up to a giant winner. This place ROCKS.

Clive Joseph: The best in all departments.

Sam T: For some reason, Google keeps pushing my review out. Perhaps in cahoots with the organization. Not the best place to work or visit. Great for scientists turned politicians. Woke and CYA culture predominates. Best place for administrators who make as much as non-medical scientists of the same age with much lower qualifications. Pay scale compressed as with any Federal (socialist) organization. Promotion and nurturing opportunities great for women scientists. Animal abuse in the name of science merely to address some rare disease which affects like 20 people in the US and may have already seen its day. Mostly repeat of what may have been already published.

Blanca Cruz: Outstanding attention. People from others countries came to NIH to get medical attention.I have been there for years and I am really happy. One of the best entities that the United States has.

Kevin Gouge: Great place to go no complaints from me!!

Melissa Martinez: Excellent staff, always friendly and happy to help. They provide full service healthcare for me, where they communicate with the other departments to get a full picture of my situation.

Renaissance Washington, DC Downtown Hotel: what do users think?

Rebecca C: I would give this a solid 3/3.5 stars. I must admit, since it’s a 4 star hotel, we expected a bit more. I’m going to guess they had to cut some amenities due to COVID. The night staff seemed friendlier than the morning staff. The bathroom was fine (I read a few before going that it was moldy). The water does take quite some time to stop dripping after you turn it off but the pressure was fine. You can definitely tell they used bleach/serious cleaners. Did notice some stains on the shower curtain and bed but could just be from use over the years. The best part really was location in terms of distance from certain attractions. That and the fact that Starbucks was in the lobby (they open early but close early as well). They also have a easy to use and relatively spacious safe. If I’m honest, I can’t say we will be choosing this hotel again the next time but overall, it was a fine experience.

Wesley Sparks: I am a loyal Marriott member, Platinum Elite so far this year. Overall this location is great for Convention Center trade shows. I ate an omelette for breakfast and it was definitely than I expected for a busy morning service time. Did not try the restaurant for other meal times, but the bar is pretty nice and well run. The beer list leaves a little to be desired. Main thing that keeps it from getting five stars is somehow I got placed in a “European” room, which means small bed, small room.

M M: The location of the hotel ist great. You can reach most attraction in Washington DC per foot. The staff at the front desk was friendly. The cleanliness left a lot to be desired. Our room was completely forgotten to be cleaned for one day! Instead of a clean room and fresh towels we got a page long detailed letter of apology. Does this happen possibly often🤔?

Lou Costanza: This is definitely a four star hotel. The staff are amazing. They were welcoming and accommodating. The room was clean, well appointed and comfortable. I had a nice city view on the 8th floor. Starbucks is conveniently located on the main level. I will definitely be back.

Carolyn Montoya: I believe this hotel is under rated! I loved my room and appreciated the convenience of a Starbucks in the lobby. I had a rocky flight coming in and the woman in the hotel snack shop was so helpful in finding ginger ale for me! This trip was for a conference, next time would stay here as a tourist as I love the location!

Hyatt Regency Washington On Capitol Hill: what do users think?

Maureen Jackson: Staff were beyond friendly and always smiling. Made our stay very enjoyable. Rooms were clean and so quiet. The restaurant was awesome from the breakfast to dinner. We ate a few times in restaurant and the wait staff remembered us and made it very homey. Quality of food was excellent. Never had a bad meal. Best hotel experience for us in a long time. Within easy walking distance of the mall

Lisa Van Aartsen: Service excellent, rooms clean, like the efficiency yet stylish way it is styled. Lights too bright in the bathroom and unable to decrease. Used a bath towel over the light to dim it down. Would be nice to have bottles of water in room to go with coffee maker... right? Grab and go currently for meals at the restaurant. Not much for choices. Very nice store including Starbucks coffee, very appreciative of that. Sheets very smooth, pleasant, bed comfy, could be better, could be worse. Nicely located. Will go again.

Jeff Ery: Room was awful. Beds were super soft and the room temp was set at 65 but I felt as hot as fish grease in lent. Woke up in a sweat every night. Location was awesome though. Breakfast was good too. Bar has stiff drinks. The room though.... Yech.

Brenda Orffer: The Hyatt Regency is a great location for easy access to capital buildings (meetings), great food and restaurants, and to DCA Airport. Right now, April 1, the hotel is not offering room service, and housekeeping is not provided unless requested. Otherwise, things seem to be all systems go. Masks are encouraged but not required. The hotel has hand sanitizer stations throughout as well. The desk and office chair in the rooms are not well matched for height. Very uncomfortable seating for a long period of time. Thankfully there is lots of lobby and social space to find a place to work more comfortably. There is a small fridge in the room, but no water is stocked in the room. You can get bottled water from front desk and valet desk if you request it.

G H: Overpriced program with many lazy and disorganized professors. They rake in the tuition and get away with lowest quality education. Shameless!

ML Plourde: Wish I could review higher but am absolutely shocked at the lack of support this school gives to their alumni. My daughter graduated with her masters. Her last class was August 10, 2019. Columbia did not provide her with her transcript for her to apply for her license for over 70 (SEVENTY) days! She was unable to even APPLY to take her licensing exam for 70 days, and actually longer because now the state she lives in has to process that paperwork! Nursing residency starts November 11. My daughter is still waiting for the paperwork to get processed so she can apply to take the licensing exam. She may not be able to become a nurse until after March 2020 - 7 months after taking her last class from this school. Absolutely ridiculous. Think twice before attending this school! No support whatsoever!

Adventist HealthCare Urgent Care: what do users think?

Stephen Taylor: I came to Adventist Urgent Care last year and had a wonderful experience with staff who were efficient, competent, and compassionate. When I returned today, I was turned away because I only had a digital copy of my insurance card and the receptionist, quote “needed something to scan.” If Adventist can’t intake a patient with valid insurance over something so trivial, it inspires doubt about the competence of care they offer beyond the reception desk.

Andrew Bracken: I called to have my 13 month old checked for an ear infection. The website says it does pediatric care. The receptionist said they do not see babies. Our child has been treated at several adult urgent cares, they still use the same otoscope as with adults on babies…

Sujuan Meng: Terrible place! This is a 24-hour urgent care. when you get there, the front desk will tell you because you may have a fever(without taking temperature) and they cannot do Covid-test there, so they will not give you any service and they will turn you away!

Mary Bailey: We had a very easy time scheduling a covid test. It was simple to schedule online for a same-day appointment, and everything proceeded smoothly once we arrived. We received individualized attention and evaluation from the nurse practitioner and medical assistant; not just the test. We received test results in the patient portal just over 24 hours later. All in all, a very positive experience. We would return!

Caitlin Boyles: This was my first time coming to this location. I normally go to Laurel because it is closer to my job. I have nothing against Laurel, they are good but personally I loved this location. I walked in around 10pm and maybe waited for 10mins to get seen. The staff was so friendly and exceptional I will definitely come back. I came in for a COVID test b/c graduate students have to go back onto campus this semester (which sucks) and will need an updated test every 30days. P.S. I came in late Friday night and my test results came back Sunday night. I will definitely come back to this location. My nurse was Boja, she has such a sweet heart. She left a wonderful impression on me. Thank you Takoma!

Kate Samworth: The website says they are open but they weren’t. Wish I had known that before paying $40 round trip ride. Lesson is- don’t believe the website

Saundra Rogers: The experience getting COVID-19 test was good. However, I had an awful time with the patient portal. After resetting my password several times, and calling several numbers for assistance, I was never able to use the portal. I finally gave up after a week. I will be tested elsewhere from now on, because the experience with the portal was too frustrating and I needed to be able to show my results.
