University of the District of Columbia Community College (UDC-CC): what do users think?

Henok D: The most terrible school I have ever been to. Both the main campus and the Community college are the same. A lot of slow, unprofessional, and rude staff who keep yelling at students when they are not even doing their jobs properly. I submitted a certain paper to the Financial Aid office and they told me they lost the paper after weeks that I had to pay about $1700 out of pocket. During the 2020 Pandemic, I tried to contact them as I was having difficulty to waive the Student Insurance that is provided through the school because I already had an insurance coverage; no one answered my call until it was due. And now Miss Gaskon told me that I have to pay about $1300 for the coverage I never needed. Mis Gascon was there in 2018/19 when I had the same issue; she helped me waive it then. I could not go to her office in 2020 be a of Covid restrictions. I tried to solve the issue communicating with them but nothing got better yet. I would not recommend anyone to go the UDC unless one needs a headache. I cannot deny that there are some great Professors such as Prof. Sonnie Abebaku. However, individuals are very helpful to us, it’s overall experience at the university that makes a difference in our academic lives. So far, my overall experience is just TERRIBLE!

Danielle Carroll: I went to school here for my AA and it was a breeze. Yes the admissions needs some work (never fixed it) but the education, the teachers and the school itself is fine. It's so affordable and you can always learn something new. I got a paid internship through UDC and even though with it's slight hiccups, this school is still great. I'm at the main campus now working on my Bachelors and I'm 16 classes shy of finishing. Don't pay the haters any mind.

Edgar E: Worst administration I have ever had to deal with. Not only do they never respond to email or phone calls, they can't even keep track of ELECTRONIC applications, that required my daughter to submit 3 times and be forced enrolled late into classes due to their incompetence. But they also can't even have the literacy to read the applications correctly to charge the correct rate to students. They went ahead to charge not only my daughter but several other students out-of-state resident rates when all their applications illustrated DC residents. Like how can you not even read what's on the applications! How many other students were charged nearly 3 times when they should have been charged as a DC residents scares me on the level of corruption and neglect this body demonstrates to it's it's attendees.0 Then to not even have the decency and competence to even respond to emails and calls to try to correct this is just completely absurd, no wonder UDC is a laughing stock of a school to attend they can't even serve as a place to get extra credits for actual schools. How neglectful can you be to students and applicants, like seriously!

Lucien Graves: I was interested in nursing but the department leads never answer even with me contacting them daily for the last 3 months. Not to mention the admissions department takes 2 weeks to email back and never answers a single call. Just go in person, it's faster but still highly unprofessional since they eat and have conversations with others in front of you. You can see why they never answer.

Yesly Turcios: GLEN DOMINA rudest person ever if you are working under a facility and a Student is inquiring on information/assistance you should be able to provide that at your upmost ability but unfortunately that was not the case here..

Danny Hirschfield: I graduated UDC-CC with an AA degree in Liberal Studies Fall Class of 2015 Alumnus. This college really helped me develop my learning skills as I am an older non-traditional student that started as a freshman with very little prior knowledge and discipline in academia. I have transitioned to the UDC flagship campus pursuing my BA degree in Political Science as a pre-law student. This university is the most affordable place to get a good quality education being the only public higher learning institution in Washington, D.C.

Jamilya Allen: Okay So I applied about 3weeks to a month ago and I’ve yet to receive any papers informing me if I was missing any documents or etc. I’ve called at least 5 times a day for about two weeks straight leaving voicemail after voicemail and no one has yet to return my call not only did I call multiple times I have also emailed them multiple and no response. It’s ridiculous what’s the point of having an admissions office if they not even going to pick up the phone, guide you in the process of being admitted or anything else like you guys get paid to do nothing it’s sad.

h T: This University has only good professors! But getting a Bachelor from the UDC will not get you a job!! Their jobs faire is just to get a website from the companies and brochures lol!

Jordan Stewart: The financial aid lady with gray hair and dreads is disrespectful af. Most of the staff here are disorganized and rude. I disenrolled 2 months ago. When I went to disenroll the lady was eating crab legs in front of me. Come to find out she never really disenrolled me, and I had to go back up there today. Smh. I really wanted this to work bc I’m a Dc Resident but I’m enrolling at PGCC.

University of the District of Columbia: what do users think?

Carolyn Taylor: This was a enjoyable experience, the seating was great for Covid safety . I would definitely attend an event here again

nina: The worst university ever, my experience at this university has been draining and miserable. Some off the professor are rude and highly unprofessional. I had one professor a couple off years ago name Samuel Walters tell me that he doesn't have to respond to my emails, and if I reported him they wouldn't even listen to me. I will never forget that, it was odd to me as well because, other professors' I had encouraged students to email, and come in during office hours for assistance. I reported this to the dean, and she told me that professors' are not obligated to respond to students' emails. I couldn't believe it, in addition I wrote the president off the school who is a joke in my opinion, and he never responded. Anything, goes at this University. I blame myself, for returning to this school I was told things have changed, and it has not. Different departments loose papers, I had turn in my vaccine exemption forms August 02, 2021 and was told it was never received. When, I inquired about the documents again, the representative had told me they forgot to submit the documents to another department. But, by then I was already dropped from my courses. At this point, I said forget it, I am glad I transferred to another University that's extremely professional, the transition was great. The staff are rude as well, I remember almost getting cursed out by a lady in the student health department, because I simply asked if my health waiver was received, she was so rude. I honestly, despise this University. Returning, to this University as a readmit student was not worth it, it's beyond me because, UDC reached out to me to come back this past summer and it's still a joke. The women bathrooms, are a joke it's been like that since I started a couple off years ago. Some, off the doors don't lock, the library needs to be remodeled. I remember part off the ceilings in one bathroom was completely missing. Elevators were not working, and some parts off the building were not cleaned, the math tutoring lab couple off years ago was, leaking and ceiling was completely gone. I believe, some individuals work at this University because they can display their dispicable disposition. It really, amazes that the student center is appealing. But, if you go to other departments off the campus the conditions, are horrible or layout is outdated. I blame myself for being at this University for so long, never again.

Henok D: The most terrible school I have ever been to. Both the main campus and the Community college are the same. A lot of slow, unprofessional, and rude staff who keep yelling at students when they are not even doing their jobs properly. Mohamed Moustaghfir: I wish I finished my nursing degree. So many UDC graduates 🎓 get successful professional life. A friend of a friend back in the end of the last century, moved back to Ethiopia and started his own company. I also learned a girl moved to Dubai and became the youngest successful millionaire at her twenties. Success is you, but the school and faculties help also mold you a pathway. Look at me now doing pizza delivery. Making people days when I'm sadly sad.

angel almonte: One of the best experiences I have had as a student. The professors were extremely helpful in guiding me to obtain an education . The facility is improving and they have an excellent student center. The student body is very a diverse population. The administration staff are as friendly. as you are to them. In other words if you act a fool than expect to be treated as one. 😊
Response: We’re happy to hear about your experience. Thanks for leaving a great review!

C. M.: Took Spanish classes here for one year. I regret slacking on my Spanish.

Danielle Carroll: Yes the admissions needs some work (never fixed it) but the education, the teachers and the school itself is fine. It's so affordable and you can always learn something new. I got a paid internship through UDC and even though with it's slight hiccups, this school is still great. I'm at the main campus now working on my Bachelors and I'm 16 classes shy of finishing. Don't pay the haters any mind.

Mani Shehni Karam Zadeh: I agree that administrative work is little slow but when it comes to education and professors, I would say they are really great, knowledgeable, kind and caring. They always try to help you to learn and never let you down. They always support brilliant students in the class and on the other hand they never abandon weak students too. Some people complain that school building architecture is ugly but just keep in mind the UDC construction completion dated back to 1851. So, I don't let this to impair my judgement about very good professors and education in here.

Scott Minter: As a graduate student that completed a Master's in Education recently at UDC, I can speak for how the last 3 years or so have been. UDC is extremely unprofessional and unorganized. The customer service is appalling and it is very difficult to do simple tasks such as pay bills, register for classes, or track down employees. The staff is difficult to reach and rarely call you back or email after a request. I advise finding a different university if you are looking to continue in higher education. Granted, there are some very excellent professors, but it might not be worth your trouble to attend here.

NIKKI HARRIS: It is a shame that after paying the application fee and being sent an acceptance letter I find out there is a hold on my account. After looking into that, I was told I have an unpaid balance from 2005. I was also informed I had made payments which total about 75% of what was owed initially. I was told to see if I qualify for amnesty to cover what's stilled owed. I did and was told no. The reason being is I don't have a GPA of 2.0 at the time of owing. I don't have a GPA because I had withdrew from classes before I had received any credits for the classes I took back in 2004. I am very disappointed and feel let down. After all, I thought I would be starting classes this summer. UDC does not care about DC citizens trying to get an education. My situation is very unfair!

Washington Adventist University: what do users think?

Jason Beharry: Got pointed in the right direction when I needed a copy of some medical records.

Kate Jefferson: This school is one of the worst school I have seen, the administrative staffs are nonchalant about one’s future and keep running the business to the ground, they neglect their responsibilities and the school gives no career assistance. Good employees with excellent communication skills had their contract terminated since the school downsized. Also, foreign students are neither offered relief, grant or scholarship funds. In addition, one can never get in touch with a contact person either through calls or emails as they will never respond. I will advise one invests in a better school especially if you are an international student as you will benefit from the outcome. Attending this school is a big regret, since they’ve continuously proved me right, they waste time in preparing immigration documents, never respond to emails or calls and you might end up losing a good job offer.Lastly, the administrative staffs have no God-like characters and forget they were once immigrants. This is my experience therefore, I won’t advise international students to attend this school since we are seen to be non-existent. Nevertheless, the academic staffs are really nice. This is my awful experience, can you guys try and improve especially during this COVID season.

Lashawn H: This school is REQUIRING ALL STUDENTS AND ALL STAFFS TO BE VACCINATED with NO WAIVER that’s terrible people have medical issues that they cannot get the vaccine because it will causes serious reaction and what happen to my body my choice I would not go to a school that does not premier choice! ‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️
Response: Hi Lashawn, In fact we are mandating the vaccine for the health and safety of all of our students and employees. Also, we do offer waivers for health or religious reasons. We are, however not allowing waivers for residence hall students, as they will be living in close proximity, with roommates.

Ashley McMullen: I'm writing this review on behalf of my husband and everything he's gone through. WAU has not handled my husband's issues professionally since the time he started there in 2010. He graduated in December 2014, after his professors cleared him to graduate. It was only four years later, when he went to renew his teaching contract and was receiving an "intern" pay salary that we discovered WAU was not releasing his transcripts because they had him in their records as not graduated. He was missing a 100-level BIO class. This was the first time we had heard of it, and his advisors as well. After trying multiple times over the course of a school year to contact people and resolve the issue, we still aren't in the clear, even after he passed a CLEP exam. WAU has been extremely difficult to work with. He has not received timely responses to his phone calls or emails, he's often left in the dark over the paperwork he needs to complete or have completed by other departments, and this whole situation should have been avoided in the beginning by the registrar's office not clearing him to graduate if a 100-level BIO class was the issue. Unfortunately, this is not unique. We both have had friends who have "graduated" from WAU to find out, when their transcripts are needed, that they have not graduated because they were missing basic level courses not relevant to their careers. WAU will not pardon this, even though it is clearly an institutional issue, so past students are left without diplomas until they finish the courses YEARS later. I do not recommend WAU, and have been so highly disappointed in their lack of professionalism, timeliness, and attention to detail every time I or my husband has worked with them.

milli McDaniel: I am here now but not feeling good.constantly in pain can't get nothing to eat. Starving to death. 3rd day no food. Wanna go home oh and they keep asking have I been smoking.....really?? I don't smoke hardly ever. Point blank. And I'm not stupid I wouldn't smoke in a Damn hospital when I can clearly walk.Duh

Virgin Tama: A former student had to leave Washington Adventist University because they were being discriminated against their race. They went to a different Adventist University. I am glad that Washington Adventist University did not receive the rest of money since they went to different Adventist University. They are pretending to be Christian while doing the work for the devil. They are all about money. They are liar, selfish, wicked, ungrateful, and jealous. They refused to help the students. I am looking forward for them to be punished on Judgement's Day.

Sofia Requena: Vaccines should not be mandatory, especially in an adventist university!!!

Christopher Meier: Expected far greater from a “Christian” institution. Perhaps it may be an administrative issue but I was disappointed with my experience.

DeAndre Barnwell: The computer science department is good it just needs more full time professors.

Mikki Talley (mikkitphd): Classes are overpriced and they handle student debtors like loan sharks do gamblers.

Trinity Washington University: what do users think?

Ming Xia: Beautiful campus with magnificent buildings and statues. Of course you will see Nancy Pelosi's picture in the hallway of the main building!

Sharon Winget: The pool and gym are well equipped and clean. Locker room is spacious and clean. Friendly, welcoming place.

Betty Strickland: It was the best. My niece graduated in the top of here class. I'm so proud.

Chaturbhuj bhojwani: Excellent Education institute.

ANNA: I am a current student at Trinity Washington University and I definitely don’t feel the same way about this school, as i did a few months ago when I started. The school isn’t the worst but I would not say that you get the feeling of a good college experience. I am currently thinking about transferring to another school. So that I don’t create a long review for others to read I will give a bullet overview of what does on/why i want to leave: - The administration as a whole are not very cooperative, nor do they know how to really help you. Advisors just repeat the same information that you could have found in the Trinity website. - The food is NOT good. I have seen dining hall workers take food from the dining hall and take it over to the deli which is one building away and charge more for it. They give you a better sandwich if your using flex dollars, but they give a basic sandwich if your using your meal plan. - Security is not consistent, they pretty much let anyone on campus and don’t ask the necessary questions before having a car proceed to drop off/pick up or parking. - There are no water fountains in the freshman dorm, which i feel is a health hazard. I feel, if they can get a dollar out of me then they will. It’s either $1.25 - 1.75 for a bottle of water in the freshman building, and Laundry is $1.50 to dry and another $1.50 to dry. My first semester of freshman year it was clear that the dean didn’t like my professor so she would try and get us to say things negating about her, she would observe her teaching more than i’ve ever seen, and before the second semester was to start she quit. Trinity is nice in the brochures, and online, but if you come here you will soon realize unfortunately everything is not as it seems.

Malik Freeman: Beautiful campus just a few miles from DC. A great place to meet, eat and sleep.

Cristin Barnett: I've always struggled with academics, but my experience at Trinity was exceptional. The class sizes were much smaller than colleges I attended in the past. The environment was collaborative and engaging. I felt the teachers as well as the students wanted everyone to succeed. I am in the process of applying for my masters degree and didn't consider any other university. I'll continue my education at Trinity and would encourage my friends and colleagues to do the same.

Xavier Hodge: I have nothing nice at all to say about this awful school. Well, the professors are good and caring. The school administration is the worst! although I am only a few semesters away from graduating with a 3.8 GPA or better, I absolutely regret going here. I wish I could change my alma mater. I am ashamed of being a "soon to be" graduate from this school. I will NEVER recommend this place to a prospective student. I have NO desire to ever participate in any Trinity related alum activities... If they ever reach out to me, I will do all I can to NOT use profanity when saying "HELL NO!"

Hiwot Tadesse: the worst school i have ever been to. All they care about is the money they get from you. the staff are no help at all. community collage appears to be better. the professors are good but the people in the office are rude and mean and all they do is sit around while they drink coffee and talk about their personal life. for any question i asked the answer i got was "I dont know". i am glad i left when i had the chance.

n Jjo: I really thought coming to this school I was going to thrive and get my degree. However after coming here my experience is bad, the counselors here don't know how to help you. There are multiple things I could say about this school, however simply put this school is horrible. After barely finishing my first year here, I have fallen into a deep state of depression. Do not go here unless you live off campus, and even then make sure it is your last option .I have been going here and am finally about to transfer to Montgomery college just to get away from this school. Please listen and do not go here.

The George Washington University: what do users think?

Quinn Peters: This university is ruled out as a possible location for my children to attend. As long as that fraud of a justice Clarence Thomas has a professorship here, I’ll never give this place a red cent and I’ll pray every day for it’s ultimate failure.

Dominick Withanachchi: Love the way its situated. If you like a university in a big city, this is one of the best.

SusanTerry Beverly: A lovely city campus. However there are signs of vandalism showing. Let's be cognizant of our surroundings at all times and put an end to this type of behavior immediately.

Ittipat Prapaprasert: Known as 'G-dub' or 'GW', this university has been a bedrock of Washington identity since its founding in 1821. Besides shaping much of the American political landscape, GW has shaped the capital itself, buying up town houses on such a scale that it is now the city's second-biggest landowner after the federal government.

bayazid ahamed: George Washington, the first President of the United States, advocated for the establishment of a national university in the U.S. capital in his first State of the Union address in 1790 and continued to promote this idea throughout his career and until his death.[8][9] In his will, Washington left shares in the Potomac Company to endow the university. However, due to the company's financial difficulties, funds were raised independently. On February 9, 1821, the university was established by an Act of Congress first as Columbian College and then as Columbian University, making it one of only five universities in the United States with a Congressional charter. The university's undergraduate and graduate schools includes the Columbian College of Arts and Sciences, the Elliott School of International Affairs, the GWU School of Business, the School of Media and Public Affairs, the Trachtenberg School of Public Policy and Public Administration, the GWU Law School and the Corcoran School of the Arts and Design. GWU's main Foggy Bottom campus is located in the heart of Washington, D.C., with the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank located on campus and the White House and the U.S. Department of State within blocks of campus. GWU hosts numerous research centers and institutes, including the National Security Archive and the Institute for International Economic Policy. GWU also has two satellite campuses: the Mount Vernon campus, located in D.C.'s Foxhall neighborhood, and the Virginia Science and Technology Campus in Loudoun County, Virginia. GWU is classified among "R1: Doctoral Universities – Very High Research Activity".The university offers degree programs in seventy-one disciplines, enrolling around 11,000 undergraduate and 15,500 graduate students. GWU is home to extensive student life programs, a strong Greek culture, and over 450 other student organizations. The school's athletic teams, the George Washington Colonials, play in the NCAA Division I Atlantic 10 Conference. GWU also annually hosts numerous political events, including the World Bank and International Monetary Fund's Annual Meetings.[14] The university's alumni, faculty, and affiliates include 16 foreign heads of state or government, 28 United States senators, 27 United States governors, 18 U.S. Cabinet members, five Nobel laureates, two Olympic medalists, two Academy Award winners, and a Golden Globe winner.GWU has over 1,100 active alumni in the U.S. Foreign Service and is one of the largest feeder schools for the diplomatic corps.

Garth Hedley: Amazing complex, beautiful buildings and friendly atmosphere.

Steven Zimmerman: an outstanding University for our son to obtain his Masters in Public Health

Anthony Scott: While the food was descent, the service was so so. Once the cashier finally paid attention to us and we were able to order, she was very friendly. But prior to taking our order, she continued to talk to another employee and chat about non work stuff and ignore customers. The sweet potato fries and grasshopper shake were very good.

frfrpr: Can't believe the University has not addressed the rat infestation problem. Scary

Taylor Fain: Very disappointed in their response to covid. Forcing students who have children to go back into classes of 150 people. Very irresponsible and not taking safety seriously.

Alex Kolkena: For the record, I didn't go to school here, but I've only heard good things. From a tourist's perspective, there's plenty of neat architecture on campus. It's in one of the older sections of Washington DC, so definitely worth checking out.

Da-Wang Wu: I have several talented colleagues who graduated from Georgetown University, so I always want to visit this school. The campus is very beautiful, especially with the fall foliage. It’s a nice half-day trip to visit the university, the shopping area (mainly on M Street), the canal and the waterfront park.

Danny L: Must place to visit if you are visiting DC. Lots of things to do around the university. Great place for photography and sightseeing. Plenty of Restaurants around that area. You would love it.

David Gilbank: I fulfilled a lifelong ambition when I came to Georgetown to see where The Exorcist was filmed. I particularly wanted to throw my self down the stairs that featured in the finale. Obviously that could cause terrible damage, so I through a soft toy down instead. See photos. Its a brilliant beautiful neighbourhood. Well worth a visit.

Mj Dillenburg: Great graduation ceremonies! Except for the 95 degree heat and humidity....it was beautiful.

Adnana K: I've had my last two kids here. They met all my needs in that time. Both C-sections were done perfectly. Two and a half days hospital stay. Recovery was very successfull. Staff was very friendly and professional. I highly recommend this hospital.

Russ Watts: Excellent university, superb perspective on the political realm, mindful about the Jesuit values.

Enric Piferrer Torres: We stopped for a quick walk around the university buildings, and it was worth it! It reminded me of Harry Potter somehow. Beautiful main building. We parked outside for free in a 2 hour parking (no meter). The neighborhood is beautiful too

Justin Ahearn: So charming and beautiful. Feel like I’m going to get culture of Washington DC and the people that I meet are great

lilian gonzalez: I do not come to school here but it's a must place to visit and see in person!!! The buildings are so beautiful and massive. It's breathtaking. The surrending place to grab food is amazing and you can bring it back and either sit in the rocking chairs or picnic tables they have or bring a blanket and lay under a tree and relax!! It's so nice!!

Abi Maghamfar: Beautiful campus with nice open space & convenient access from Brookland/CUA Metro Station. We walked through the campus from Metro to the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception.

Washington DC VA Medical Center: what do users think?

Tri Love: For the most part my experience with the VA have been good. Sometimes the call and appointment lines take forever and hang up, and sometimes the personnel I speak to are grumpy but overall the service is good, the ER is relatively efficient, I can reach my Dr or their team with ease, and, aside from one ER incident with a certain Dr. I feel heard and well treated. My medications come fast, and the variety of programs is nice. Thank you for your service !

Venom DM: The VA wants you to call to make appointments but it's easy to be on hold for more than 30 minutes before you're disconnected. If you do go in to help get help desk staff (like in the lab on the first floor) in many departments will just look at you. No "Hello, how can I can help you?" Nothing. They just stare at you like you're interrupting something more important until you break the ice. This DC VA is consistently the lowest rated VA in the nation for a reason.

Ashton: My first experience in the cafe was terrible. Taco Tuesday at 12 noon they run out of 5+ items that up make the taco bar. Only meat, cheese and lettuce was left. The problem escalated when the cashier told me I was “entitled” for inquiring about a discount considering they discounted the food. He said “well, you still ordered it”, and even tried to charge me more than the set price. When asked about it he said he was told to charge that price yet adjusted the total to the original amount listed. I spoke with Kevin (manager) to oversee this unacceptable behavior. This service was despicable. As it is acceptable to say no, it is not acceptable to dishonor and disrespect anyone. The attitude was undeserving and unprofessional.

Artis Baskin: My most enjoyable and professional VA visit ever. I am a patient at the Yellow Clinic and had my appointment on FRI 15 APR 2022 w/ Dr. Benton. Routine physical and continued evaluation of service-connected issues. The Medical and Lab Technicians were cheerful, polite and engaging and the Phlebotomist Tsedey was amazing. Great visit...thank you for your service!

John Breske: Never used VA as a retiree. I am registered just never used it. Turns out Tricare doesn't cover audiology and hearing aids...VA does. I live just outside DC. I took the step to call the Washington VA Medical Center and register for care per the VA website. Site stated come by the office or call the number. Office is in the heart of DC...let's try the phone call. Called the number and used ext 56333 as prescribed. Automated message said experiencing longer than usual wait times...makes sense. Wait time will be longer than 3 minutes...I can handle that. If not urgent call during a less busy time...umm when would that be? Turns out I spent literally 8 hrs calling the number and experiencing 1) the phone ringing but then reverting back to the automated message or 2) the phone ringing then hanging up. I had taken the day off with no real plans and thought I would handle this task I had been procrastinating. After the the first couple hours I became determine to see how bad this VA system really is. I saw lots of reviews on how good the medical staff are. That may be so but the support system is what I feared it would be. Do a YouTube search for "trying to get an appointment to the VA hospital for my husband". Now I know why the phone never answers...absolutely terrible. Now what do I do? Drive to the heart of DC for similar service? Really? Needless to say I never completed this task.

Lauren Harcarik: Every *single* time I try to call to make an appointment, I am on hold for 20+ minutes. Several times I have been unexpectedly disconnected - even after speaking with someone - and, thus, have to call and wait again. I have been hung up on at least three times (and I just moved to this area). This is the worst of 4 VA systems at which I have been enrolled to receive care. I needed an appointment for a pap smear, and the patient call operator said, "they are not taking new patients," then hung up on me. Thank god I am not forced to rely strictly on VA healthcare, and I will look elsewhere to receive care; however, there are patients who have no other options, and this answer is completely unacceptable.

Mr. Robinson1911: The worst! We lay our lives in the this country and this is our reward. How does one ask for an appointment in May and we are told that we can be seen in January of the next year. Honestly, I don’t think some of the medical personnel is knowledgeable about their craft and they are numb to what some of us really need. This is apart of the reason all of the armed forces are low on numbers…..who wants to serve a country to be rewarded with care from people who really don’t care about you. We are just numbers and the actions of the staff justify us feeling this way.

je vf: While there, dental staff are usually nice and helpful, but they *never EVER* answer their PHONE and ridiculously, you can't make an appointment online! To get an appointment you have to physically go there IN PERSON - it's the 21st century, people, your customer service is UNSAT!

Emily Breining: VA - where support staff rides out a fed position & does the least in your favor. #1 Know your patient advocate team, keep track of your doctors(they come & go being in a large city.) Know that as a patient you have rights to accurate documentation & efficient service. Keep the VA accounatble for poor service.

Norma Hernandez: Was forced to transfer out. After months of not being able to get an appt for Specialty, minutes to hours of waiting on the phone. They don't call you back. They can't seem to find your referral because it took so long to get through. Unfortunately they are tied to the VA clinic at Ft Belvoir.

Lisa Ruff: It was awesome..they made me very comfortable through all of the tests. All of the people were very and friendly and helpful. Before I left I felt like I had new friends who really cared about me and my well being. I have to go back in 1 year. I can't wait to visit again. I had a very good and positive experience. Thank you guys so much.

rick lowe: The most amazing place I've ever seen in my life it's huge people are amazing everybody including the janitors the doctors are wonderful and kind... America should be proud of this institution!!

Melissa Martinez: I get very personalized care here. My doctor works with doctors from other departments to get a full picture of my health and find the best treatment options.

Paco Gandullia: Amazing staff, even more amazing nurses and doctors. Great campus and outstanding everything!!! A+++Unbelievably positive experience in an unbelievably bad situation.

Shikha Sharma: Lot of security. Amazing place for research. Very near to metro and bus station for many buses.

Frank Bachman: Dr. Kreitman has an incredible team, which further complements the entire facility and its people. Unbelievably organized, runs like a clock. Add in knowledgeable, caring, polite, genuine people and it all adds up to a giant winner. This place ROCKS.

Cheri: I'm in clinical trials at the NIH their doctors, researchers and staff can't be beat!! They are knowledgeable, courteous, kind and accommodating. They take as much time as you need to answer questions, explain things and in general work with you to find answers and treatments for your health needs. I hope you don't need them but if you do don't hesitate it's worth the time and effort.

Matt Daniel: It's a really big research campus with several buildings. Some of the best research in the world is conducted on this campus. It has a direct train to D.C. too. Hope this helps!

Clive Joseph: The best in all departments.

James Velez: The staff are magnificent. They are all kind, caring, empathetic, medical and health care professionals. Mere word cannot do justice to how special NIH and the people that work there are.

National Institutes of Health: what do users think?

Sam T: For some reason, Google keeps pushing my review out. Perhaps in cahoots with the organization. Not the best place to work or visit. Great for scientists turned politicians. Woke and CYA culture predominates. Best place for administrators who make as much as non-medical scientists of the same age with much lower qualifications. Pay scale compressed as with any Federal (socialist) organization. Promotion and nurturing opportunities great for women scientists. Animal abuse in the name of science merely to address some rare disease which affects like 20 people in the US and may have already seen its day. Mostly repeat of what may have been already published.

Michael McGinity: The NIH is great place but access is restricted. If you are coming for the first time as a trial participant or patient, don't be too intimidated by the security or the scale of the place. Everyone is very helpful and always seem to understand our initial bewilderment.

Shirley Arias: Been to MD thought of taking a tour but they really need to really do more studies on humans than animals, I'm not a monkey or a dog and I'd rather know testing was done on a human that a defenseless animal. Specially when control measures are so high that it doesn't account for human variables. Just antiquated research.

Lisa Fues: Such kind, caring, and smart people. I'm fortunate to be in their care for a rare cancer.

Frank Bachman: Professional. Organized. Prompt. Knowledgeble. Kind. Compassionate. Thorough. I could go on and on about Dr. Kreitman's team...great ongoing experience.

Blanca Cruz: Outstanding attention. People from others countries came to NIH to get medical attention.I have been there for years and I am really happy. One of the best entities that the United States has.

Kevin Gouge: Great place to go no complaints from me!!

Forrest Lewis: NIH (Building 10) has the friendliest staff you will ever meet. Whether it is at the day hospital or the pediatric clinic or any other department I have visited; they all greet you with sincere smiles, hellos and conversation. There is always someone trying to be helpful to address your needs or give directions to other locations within the building. It's good to have such nice people around to help ease the worries and tension of medical stays and visits.

asim sherzai: All NIH staff are friendly and very helpful in finding through the maze of finding different departments otherwise it is easy to get lost even NIH police officer took me straight to the clinic that I could not find, explanation of Dr's are very thorough and details of surgeries are as thorough as possibly can, Nurses are great help in calming prior to surgery and as well as post surgery

Melissa Martinez: Excellent staff, always friendly and happy to help. They provide full service healthcare for me, where they communicate with the other departments to get a full picture of my situation.

Renaissance Washington, DC Downtown Hotel: what do users think?

Rebecca C: I would give this a solid 3/3.5 stars. I must admit, since it’s a 4 star hotel, we expected a bit more. I’m going to guess they had to cut some amenities due to COVID. The night staff seemed friendlier than the morning staff. The bathroom was fine (I read a few before going that it was moldy). The water does take quite some time to stop dripping after you turn it off but the pressure was fine. You can definitely tell they used bleach/serious cleaners. Did notice some stains on the shower curtain and bed but could just be from use over the years. The best part really was location in terms of distance from certain attractions. That and the fact that Starbucks was in the lobby (they open early but close early as well). They also have a easy to use and relatively spacious safe. If I’m honest, I can’t say we will be choosing this hotel again the next time but overall, it was a fine experience.

Wesley Sparks: I am a loyal Marriott member, Platinum Elite so far this year. Overall this location is great for Convention Center trade shows. I ate an omelette for breakfast and it was definitely than I expected for a busy morning service time. Did not try the restaurant for other meal times, but the bar is pretty nice and well run. The beer list leaves a little to be desired. Main thing that keeps it from getting five stars is somehow I got placed in a “European” room, which means small bed, small room.

Derek Kruger: Make sure to use ʜoᴛᴇʟʙoʟʟʏ.ᴄᴏm when booking any hotel. This web site will compare thousands of booking websites and typically will have rooms much cheaper than others! Thank me later on! This resort is one of the highest rated in the area. I've been staying here for years. If you stay for a few nights you for sure won't regret it. This is definitely a four star hotel. The staff are amazing. They were welcoming and accommodating. The room was clean, well appointed and comfortable. I had a nice city view on the 8th floor. Starbucks is conveniently located on the main level. I will definitely be back.

Nikki SKD: No frills as expected, bathroom was clean but bed linens had a very musty odor when we first arrived as if the room had not been used or refreshed recently. Parking was relatively simple (about $30 per day), within walking distance of many sites if walking is your thing. No microwave in room was a bummer since indoor dining wasn't a safe personal option at many locations. If be inclined to stay again if it were for not having a microwave.

M M: The location of the hotel ist great. You can reach most attraction in Washington DC per foot. The staff at the front desk was friendly. The cleanliness left a lot to be desired. Our room was completely forgotten to be cleaned for one day! Instead of a clean room and fresh towels we got a page long detailed letter of apology. Does this happen possibly often🤔?

Adrienne Bowden: Overall a really nice hotel. Can't use the bathroom in the lobby unless you have a hotel key (I was there for a conference so I didn't have one). Starbucks in the lobby was out of many things. Don't waste your time standing in their line. The hotel food was great

Lou Costanza: This is definitely a four star hotel. The staff are amazing. They were welcoming and accommodating. The room was clean, well appointed and comfortable. I had a nice city view on the 8th floor. Starbucks is conveniently located on the main level. I will definitely be back.

B. W.: Just had a bad three-night stay. The hotel has fancy lobby area, but hotel room is showing its age. Very thin walls with bad soundproofing. Can hear street noises clearly even on the 9th floor, as well as people talking in neighboring rooms. Carpet is dirty. Underground garage for the $35 per day self-parking is confusing, and with rats hanging around too. As a Marriott platinum member, did not feel much recognition at the hotel. They are still keeping the club lounge 'suspended' due to covid, even though pretty much everything else is coming back to normal. The only option they offer to platinum member as breakfast benefit is pathetic: choose between one muffin and one croissant, an oatmeal, and coffee/juice. I asked the restaurant to have these packed to take to my room. Was told to wait, and was simply ignored for about 15 minutes. Finally someone came to ask "muffin or croissant" and left. Waited about another 10 minutes, received it without any drink. Had to ask again for my coffee. By then a couple groups behind me had been greeted into the restaurant, had their breakfast, and left. Upon checking out, the front desk told me that the restaurant gave me $20 credit, which she applied to the charge of my parking. The total charge would be $85 instead of $105. However, in the end, two charges of $85 and $20 were made to my credit card after the pending period. NO credit after all. Just unbelievable.

Carolyn Montoya: I believe this hotel is under rated! I loved my room and appreciated the convenience of a Starbucks in the lobby. I had a rocky flight coming in and the woman in the hotel snack shop was so helpful in finding ginger ale for me! This trip was for a conference, next time would stay here as a tourist as I love the location!

Hyatt Regency Washington On Capitol Hill: what do users think?

Maureen Jackson: Staff were beyond friendly and always smiling. Made our stay very enjoyable. Rooms were clean and so quiet. The restaurant was awesome from the breakfast to dinner. We ate a few times in restaurant and the wait staff remembered us and made it very homey. Quality of food was excellent. Never had a bad meal. Best hotel experience for us in a long time. Within easy walking distance of the mall
Response: Hello Maureen, We are glad the staff made your stay enjoyable, that is just wonderful! We are happy your experience staying with us was the best hotel experience you have had in a long time. Thank you for your kind comments they are truly appreciated, we hope to welcome you back soon! Best Regards, Anisa

Lisa Van Aartsen: Service excellent, rooms clean, like the efficiency yet stylish way it is styled. Lights too bright in the bathroom and unable to decrease. Used a bath towel over the light to dim it down. Would be nice to have bottles of water in room to go with coffee maker... right? Grab and go currently for meals at the restaurant. Not much for choices. Very nice store including Starbucks coffee, very appreciative of that. Sheets very smooth, pleasant, bed comfy, could be better, could be worse. Nicely located. Will go again.
Response: Hello Lisa, Thank you for taking the time to leave your feedback on your recent stay with us. We do apologize for any inconvenience the lights in the bathroom may have caused you. We are glad you thought the bed was comfortable and happy to hear you liked the location. We value our guests' insights and feedback so we can improve our operations. We hope to welcome you back soon! Best, Anisa

Jeff Ery: Room was awful. Beds were super soft and the room temp was set at 65 but I felt as hot as fish grease in lent. Woke up in a sweat every night. Location was awesome though. Breakfast was good too. Bar has stiff drinks. The room though.... Yech.
Response: Evening Jeff Ery, Thank you for the honest feedback of your stay. We appreciate all guest comments and feedback. We are working on making changes and will be updating our hotel in the near future. Glad that overall other than the room, your stay was enjoyable. Tonia

Brendan Williams: Location, location, location. And don't they know it! In all the years I have stayed there for conferences it feels like only the lobby has been updated. Rest of the property is very dated. Careful in adjusting your shower head that you don't pull it out of the wall. But your room will be clean, and, again, location.
Response: Evening Brandan Williams, We appreciate and respect all guest comments and feedback. We also appreciate you taking the time to share your experience with us. Thank you for continuing to patronize our property. We are working on having renovations done in the near future. Tonia

Kim Jensen: We had a wonderful stay and everyone was so friendly. If I ever go back to DC this is where I would stay again. Word of warning, make sure you know what direction you're heading when you leave the hotel. In one direction you get some pretty bad vibes and have some shady characters that'll start following you. And the other direction there's a wonderful shopping and restaurants and all the tourists spots. The hotel was lovely and we appreciated our stay.
Response: Hello Kim Jensen, Thank you for your kind review! I'm so glad that you had such a wonderful experience at our hotel. We appreciate your feedback and thank you for your tips for other future guests. We are flattered that you choose to stay at our hotel for future visits to DC. We can't wait to welcome you back! Best Regards, Toya

Brenda Orffer: The Hyatt Regency is a great location for easy access to capital buildings (meetings), great food and restaurants, and to DCA Airport. Right now, April 1, the hotel is not offering room service, and housekeeping is not provided unless requested. Otherwise, things seem to be all systems go. Masks are encouraged but not required. The hotel has hand sanitizer stations throughout as well. The desk and office chair in the rooms are not well matched for height. Very uncomfortable seating for a long period of time. Thankfully there is lots of lobby and social space to find a place to work more comfortably. There is a small fridge in the room, but no water is stocked in the room. You can get bottled water from front desk and valet desk if you request it.
Response: Dear Brenda Orffer, Thank you for the feedback on your visit. We are happy you enjoyed our convenient location to the nearby restaurants and the airport. We appreciate the insight on our desks in the guest rooms and are pleased you were able to use the space in our lobby area to work comfortable. Thank you for staying with us and we hope to welcome you back soon! Warm regards, Tonya

Melissa Lutz: Nice hotel near the Capitol. Room was not huge but was comfortable. A little pricey, but the location was very convenient to the Mall. Don't park at the hotel...you can park for a third the cost at Colonial Parking Garage around the corner. Staff were all very nice and accommodating.Would stay here again.
Response: Hello Melissa Lutz, Thank you for leaving us a review. I'm happy to hear that you enjoyed your stay with us. It's always great to hear that our staff were all friendly and helpful. We appreciate the parking tip. I hope that you will stay with us again soon! Best Regards, Toya

Columbia University School of Nursing: what do users think?

G H: Overpriced program with many lazy and disorganized professors. They rake in the tuition and get away with lowest quality education. Shameless!

ML Plourde: Wish I could review higher but am absolutely shocked at the lack of support this school gives to their alumni. My daughter graduated with her masters. Her last class was August 10, 2019. Columbia did not provide her with her transcript for her to apply for her license for over 70 (SEVENTY) days! She was unable to even APPLY to take her licensing exam for 70 days, and actually longer because now the state she lives in has to process that paperwork! Nursing residency starts November 11. My daughter is still waiting for the paperwork to get processed so she can apply to take the licensing exam. She may not be able to become a nurse until after March 2020 - 7 months after taking her last class from this school. Absolutely ridiculous. Think twice before attending this school! No support whatsoever!

Adventist HealthCare Urgent Care: what do users think?

Stephen Taylor: I came to Adventist Urgent Care last year and had a wonderful experience with staff who were efficient, competent, and compassionate. When I returned today, I was turned away because I only had a digital copy of my insurance card and the receptionist, quote “needed something to scan.” If Adventist can’t intake a patient with valid insurance over something so trivial, it inspires doubt about the competence of care they offer beyond the reception desk.

Rob R: Not a pretty exterior or interior, for sure. But I've come here three times now... even though I live blocks away from other urgent cares in downtown DC, and it's a 30 minute drive at best. Which I think says a lot.

SJ Ward: This is a 24-hour urgent care. But if you arrive before regular business hours you're likely to find a locked door, no clear way to get in, and when you do the front desk person telling you that they don't have basic services like x-ray until regular day shift comes on.

Andrew Bracken: I called to have my 13 month old checked for an ear infection. The website says it does pediatric care. The receptionist said they do not see babies. Our child has been treated at several adult urgent cares, they still use the same otoscope as with adults on babies…

Sujuan Meng: Terrible place! This is a 24-hour urgent care. when you get there, the front desk will tell you because you may have a fever(without taking temperature) and they cannot do Covid-test there, so they will not give you any service and they will turn you away!

Mary Bailey: We had a very easy time scheduling a covid test. It was simple to schedule online for a same-day appointment, and everything proceeded smoothly once we arrived. We received individualized attention and evaluation from the nurse practitioner and medical assistant; not just the test. We received test results in the patient portal just over 24 hours later. All in all, a very positive experience. We would return!

Caitlin Boyles: This was my first time coming to this location. I normally go to Laurel because it is closer to my job. I have nothing against Laurel, they are good but personally I loved this location. I walked in around 10pm and maybe waited for 10mins to get seen. The staff was so friendly and exceptional I will definitely come back. I came in for a COVID test b/c graduate students have to go back onto campus this semester (which sucks) and will need an updated test every 30days. P.S. I came in late Friday night and my test results came back Sunday night. I will definitely come back to this location. My nurse was Boja, she has such a sweet heart. She left a wonderful impression on me. Thank you Takoma!

Kyra Williams: It was a complete waste of my time! I went in due to issues with my Achilles tendon (i.e. barely walking) and they told me they don't give narcotics (which I never asked for and there are other pain meds that could've been prescribed that aren't narcotics), take Tylenol and use bengay. I definitely won't be going back nor will I recommend it to anyone else.

Kate Samworth: The website says they are open but they weren’t. Wish I had known that before paying $40 round trip ride. Lesson is- don’t believe the website

Saundra Rogers: The experience getting COVID-19 test was good. However, I had an awful time with the patient portal. After resetting my password several times, and calling several numbers for assistance, I was never able to use the portal. I finally gave up after a week. I will be tested elsewhere from now on, because the experience with the portal was too frustrating and I needed to be able to show my results.
Response: Hi Saundra, We sincerely apologize for your experience with accessing the patient portal. If you’d like to discuss this matter further, please send your best contact information to Info@AdventistHealthCare.com and a member of our team will reach out to you directly.
