University of the District of Columbia Community College (UDC-CC): what do users think?

Henok D: The most terrible school I have ever been to. Both the main campus and the Community college are the same. A lot of slow, unprofessional, and rude staff who keep yelling at students when they are not even doing their jobs properly. I submitted a certain paper to the Financial Aid office and they told me they lost the paper after weeks that I had to pay about $1700 out of pocket. During the 2020 Pandemic, I tried to contact them as I was having difficulty to waive the Student Insurance that is provided through the school because I already had an insurance coverage; no one answered my call until it was due. And now Miss Gaskon told me that I have to pay about $1300 for the coverage I never needed. Mis Gascon was there in 2018/19 when I had the same issue; she helped me waive it then. I could not go to her office in 2020 be a of Covid restrictions. I tried to solve the issue communicating with them but nothing got better yet. I would not recommend anyone to go the UDC unless one needs a headache. I cannot deny that there are some great Professors such as Prof. Sonnie Abebaku. However, individuals are very helpful to us, it’s overall experience at the university that makes a difference in our academic lives. So far, my overall experience is just TERRIBLE!

Yesly Turcios: GLEN DOMINA rudest person ever if you are working under a facility and a Student is inquiring on information/assistance you should be able to provide that at your upmost ability but unfortunately that was not the case here..

Danny Hirschfield: I graduated UDC-CC with an AA degree in Liberal Studies Fall Class of 2015 Alumnus. This college really helped me develop my learning skills as I am an older non-traditional student that started as a freshman with very little prior knowledge and discipline in academia. I have transitioned to the UDC flagship campus pursuing my BA degree in Political Science as a pre-law student. This university is the most affordable place to get a good quality education being the only public higher learning institution in Washington, D.C.

Jamilya Allen: Okay So I applied about 3weeks to a month ago and I’ve yet to receive any papers informing me if I was missing any documents or etc. I’ve called at least 5 times a day for about two weeks straight leaving voicemail after voicemail and no one has yet to return my call not only did I call multiple times I have also emailed them multiple and no response. It’s ridiculous what’s the point of having an admissions office if they not even going to pick up the phone, guide you in the process of being admitted or anything else like you guys get paid to do nothing it’s sad.

h T: This University has only good professors! But getting a Bachelor from the UDC will not get you a job!! Their jobs faire is just to get a website from the companies and brochures lol!

Jordan Stewart: The financial aid lady with gray hair and dreads is disrespectful af. Most of the staff here are disorganized and rude. I disenrolled 2 months ago. When I went to disenroll the lady was eating crab legs in front of me. Come to find out she never really disenrolled me, and I had to go back up there today. Smh. I really wanted this to work bc I’m a Dc Resident but I’m enrolling at PGCC.

Carolyn Taylor: This was a enjoyable experience, the seating was great for Covid safety . I would definitely attend an event here again

angel almonte: One of the best experiences I have had as a student. The professors were extremely helpful in guiding me to obtain an education . The facility is improving and they have an excellent student center. The student body is very a diverse population. The administration staff are as friendly. as you are to them. In other words if you act a fool than expect to be treated as one. 😊

U.S. Department of Housing & Urban Development: what do users think?

Steve Dyson: Three thumbs down. For proposed restrictions on the Apache ASL Trails apt. building in Tempe AZ. . A building built for the sole purpose of accommodating the hearing impaired. Why would they assist in building and equipping this complex and then limit the hearing impaired to 18 of the available 75 units??? It makes absolutely NO SENSE !!!

Betsy Graam: My son purchased a mobile home for $49,000 that was used in North Glen Village. After looking at the specs of the mobile home which is a Skyline 2008 manufactured in Bristol, Indiana, the home is zone 1 making it weather ready only in the southern states of Georgia, Florida, etc. This mobile home should not have been allowed for sale here in Indiana first and foremost. It also does not have vents in the ceiling or the floor. It is a health hazard all around. We have all been sick due to the poor air quality in the home. There is also black mold growing in the closets and drawers. Also the electric bill was outrageous this past winter of over $450 per month. This mobile home was supposed to be inspected by an agent of your department as stated on the plate outside the home. This matter is going to be pursued further until answers regarding this whole situation is revealed. Justice will be done.

DC Department of Housing and Community Development: what do users think?

Margaret Chambers: Gene Bulmash, the program manager for Inclusionary Zoning is a horrible fit for his position. He does not care about DC residents and takes his precious time approving prospects for the Affordable Dwelling Units. I applied at a property and they were able to approve me within a week. They then sent my application to Gene Bulmash and he was very picky with the information I had provided. I was given a timeframe of 3 weeks when DHCD received my application. It has been over 2 months. My current lease expired and I am now homeless.

Abril Gray-Porter: Very horrible display of customer service for District Residents, especially DC natives seeking resources for housing. Contacting representatives via email because you can’t seem to reach anyone in office or over the phone has become a chore. You almost feel like you shouldn’t be contacting them either because their response a very much so along the lines of they would rather not be helping you.

Monique Diop: Hey! Its Anacostia! 😉

vanessa wyndham: This agency is as crooked as it gets. They allow developers to come into areas like Ward 8 to build substandard housing (for rental or purchase) at market rate prices. People in this agency as well as other places are getting paid off to look the other way and hard working DC residents seeking to improve their quality of life are getting ripped off by unscrupulous developers who are being allowed to run rampant in the District.

Mike Mezz: I cant reach anyone from this office? Their phones are disconnected. Is there an alternative phone number?

Z. Muhammad: I need updates on this.

Georgetown University School of Continuing Studies: what do users think?

Hemant Gaule: Great institution, excellent faculty and resources available to students. A lot of impressive events and conferences are hosted at the institute.

Amy Friedlander: Like many others have said, the support staff, to include the Deans Office, is absolutely awful. Unhelpful, discourteous, unprofessional. I expected so much more from this institution, but the SCS is a disappointment and can only be described as a mediocre school at best.

Karina Valverde: I love being a student on campus again. In pursuit of my masters in Public Relations and Corporate Communications. This campus is for the grad school and certificate programs. The culture is professional, high caliber students.

Patrick Revord: Convenient location, beautiful building, great instruction and great classmates. Georgetown runs a class act, even away from its main campus.

Monica Puerto: I enrolled into the Data Science Certificate Program at Georgetown. It is a waste of money and your time unless you have a robust background in Python. Most students did not because this certificate program appears to help you turn into one. I have background in SQL and data analytics and was hoping to gather some skills to make me a data scientist. Although I understand that a certificate program can’t turn you into one (although the marketing and messaging of this makes it appear so with the “robust” curriculum). This was purely taught on slides and wish it was more hands on. It is very expensive and you don’t start learning till the 3rd class. The first class was an introduction on what is data science (around $900) for some powerpoint you could have read at home. Second class was to get into groups to create a data product on a process that you barely know about. I recommend General Assembly they are more hands on. Although they don’t have the prestigious name (which I think Georgetown takes advantage of to teach this way), you will learn more and actually do projects AFTER you learn the material. I thankfully dropped out and sadly was only refunded the classes I did not take although intro to data science and getting into groups does not feel like real classes..

Don Johnson: Thought Google users might enjoy seeing what this building looked like in 1919.(credit: Library of Congress)

Gouled Hosh: I would like to study here for my EHLS program next year.

syed pervez: One of the best schools in DMV area.

Trinity Washington University: what do users think?

Sharon Winget: The pool and gym are well equipped and clean. Locker room is spacious and clean. Friendly, welcoming place.

Chaturbhuj bhojwani: Excellent Education institute.

ANNA: I am a current student at Trinity Washington University and I definitely don’t feel the same way about this school, as i did a few months ago when I started. The school isn’t the worst but I would not say that you get the feeling of a good college experience. I am currently thinking about transferring to another school. So that I don’t create a long review for others to read I will give a bullet overview of what does on/why i want to leave: - The administration as a whole are not very cooperative, nor do they know how to really help you. Advisors just repeat the same information that you could have found in the Trinity website. - The food is NOT good. I have seen dining hall workers take food from the dining hall and take it over to the deli which is one building away and charge more for it. They give you a better sandwich if your using flex dollars, but they give a basic sandwich if your using your meal plan. - Security is not consistent, they pretty much let anyone on campus and don’t ask the necessary questions before having a car proceed to drop off/pick up or parking. - There are no water fountains in the freshman dorm, which i feel is a health hazard. I feel, if they can get a dollar out of me then they will. It’s either $1.25 - 1.75 for a bottle of water in the freshman building, and Laundry is $1.50 to dry and another $1.50 to dry. My first semester of freshman year it was clear that the dean didn’t like my professor so she would try and get us to say things negating about her, she would observe her teaching more than i’ve ever seen, and before the second semester was to start she quit. Trinity is nice in the brochures, and online, but if you come here you will soon realize unfortunately everything is not as it seems.

Malik Freeman: Beautiful campus just a few miles from DC. A great place to meet, eat and sleep.

Xavier Hodge: I have nothing nice at all to say about this awful school. Well, the professors are good and caring. The school administration is the worst! although I am only a few semesters away from graduating with a 3.8 GPA or better, I absolutely regret going here. I wish I could change my alma mater. I am ashamed of being a "soon to be" graduate from this school. I will NEVER recommend this place to a prospective student. I have NO desire to ever participate in any Trinity related alum activities... If they ever reach out to me, I will do all I can to NOT use profanity when saying "HELL NO!"

Hiwot Tadesse: the worst school i have ever been to. All they care about is the money they get from you. the staff are no help at all. community collage appears to be better. the professors are good but the people in the office are rude and mean and all they do is sit around while they drink coffee and talk about their personal life. for any question i asked the answer i got was "I dont know". i am glad i left when i had the chance.

Carol Macinnes: Very excited about the Tampa Heights project recently approved by USDOT. It is much needed for replacing water pipes, connecting communities divided by I275 through improved transit opportunities, inceasing the safety of intersections, creating bike lanes and Smart Streets. A wonderful investment that will help this area thrive again. Thank you all at USDOT and to the leadership of Secretary Buttigieg and his teams.

Quinn Peters: This university is ruled out as a possible location for my children to attend. As long as that fraud of a justice Clarence Thomas has a professorship here, I’ll never give this place a red cent and I’ll pray every day for it’s ultimate failure.

Dominick Withanachchi: Love the way its situated. If you like a university in a big city, this is one of the best.

Garth Hedley: Amazing complex, beautiful buildings and friendly atmosphere.

Steven Zimmerman: an outstanding University for our son to obtain his Masters in Public Health

Anthony Scott: While the food was descent, the service was so so. Once the cashier finally paid attention to us and we were able to order, she was very friendly. But prior to taking our order, she continued to talk to another employee and chat about non work stuff and ignore customers. The sweet potato fries and grasshopper shake were very good.

Taylor Fain: Very disappointed in their response to covid. Forcing students who have children to go back into classes of 150 people. Very irresponsible and not taking safety seriously.

danceswithcars w: Used to be more open campus for those trying to get around the facility, and avoiding hills and/or traffic. The closing of the trail by the park rather annoying as it avoided hills, could go along the ridge/topo line avoiding lots of ups and downs (think summer, old, disabled, etc). Used to like seeing the geese on campus...

Mexyr: Very good and informative.

Madame Dabo: Today I went to drop off my niece who’s continuing her second year of pre-med. the experience was amazing. I love how supportive the staff is. They have smooth transition process during moving in season. They were very well organized and had keys, moving carts, parking permits and guidance everywhere. I noticed that minorities are the majority at Howard. Diversity is embraced and everyone is welcomed and respected. I loved how they have sanitation stations everywhere fondue to Covid-19. The application process is easy and they financial aid staff is very helpful. Howard university os affordable and well known school. The dorms are spacious and private. Kitchen is well organized and the bathroom is huge. Campus was a little crowded because it was moving in day, but it was so organized that by 2pm everyone was situated and the streets were cleaned. I recommend this university.

Elizabeth Bobo: Howard University is in the process of changing, improving and increasing their level of services they offer their community. Good

Da-Wang Wu: I have several talented colleagues who graduated from Georgetown University, so I always want to visit this school. The campus is very beautiful, especially with the fall foliage. It’s a nice half-day trip to visit the university, the shopping area (mainly on M Street), the canal and the waterfront park.

Danny L: Must place to visit if you are visiting DC. Lots of things to do around the university. Great place for photography and sightseeing. Plenty of Restaurants around that area. You would love it.

David Gilbank: I fulfilled a lifelong ambition when I came to Georgetown to see where The Exorcist was filmed. I particularly wanted to throw my self down the stairs that featured in the finale. Obviously that could cause terrible damage, so I through a soft toy down instead. See photos. Its a brilliant beautiful neighbourhood. Well worth a visit.

Mj Dillenburg: Great graduation ceremonies! Except for the 95 degree heat and humidity....it was beautiful.

Russ Watts: Excellent university, superb perspective on the political realm, mindful about the Jesuit values.

Enric Piferrer Torres: We stopped for a quick walk around the university buildings, and it was worth it! It reminded me of Harry Potter somehow. Beautiful main building. We parked outside for free in a 2 hour parking (no meter). The neighborhood is beautiful too

Justin Ahearn: So charming and beautiful. Feel like I’m going to get culture of Washington DC and the people that I meet are great

Geramie Ervin: So I’m a disabled veteran and I went here to mail something and the lady who helped me was busy watching her TV show after I was standing at the counter for a few minutes so I finally asked her how her day was going she seemed irritated to come help me it was difficult to understand her although my hearing is no longer the best and with wearing masks it makes it difficult to hear as she was giving me instructions on how to seal the box she angrily yelled at me “are you drunk?!” I’ve worked in sales and customer service a large amount of my life I was completely respectful of her and for her to treat a customer this way is completely unacceptable. She apologized only after she saw my demeanor change and I could tell she just didn’t want to get in trouble. Hopefully the manager or someone in charge of that post office will hold her accountable. Unfortunately I didn’t see a name tag and on the receipt it just says the person who did it was clerk 19.

Kristin Roesch: The USPS constantly delivers packages and mail to the wrong mail boxes. My tracking numbers say delivered but I never received my packages. This has happened so many times to myself and others that live in my building. Our mailboxes are marked with our unit numbers and names so this really should not be an issue!

Jennifer Sundook: They are closed at 2:35 on a Wednesday. No reason given. Their lunch is supposed to end at 2:30. This is not the first time they have been closed when their hours indicate they should be open. I waited 10 minutes and then a pedestrian told me he waited 30 minutes yesterday and no one ever came. Left without sending package.

Embassy of the Republic of Korea: what do users think?

WSH: I called to inquire about registering our marriage in Korea, and the lady who helped me was very helpful. I cannot speak for other reps but this lady took time to answer all the questions I had. 5 stars plus.

Su Wai: Spent a good part of the afternoon trying to make an apt for consulate service. They only accept apt via the website and not over the phone. Turned out that there was a glitch on the website apt system, but nonetheless, very time consuming when trying to obtain an expedited visa.

J C: Staffs are trash. There is no other explanation. if you call them, you gonna be know how much they are disgusting.

kelly clarkson: Very positive experience. Answered immediately. Called the Embassy today after a long frustrating day full of calling people after another, and the recipient was extremely helpful and patient with me, and walked me through everything. Even after walking me through all my questions, he provided me with extra information. This is not just some office job for him, he was extremely interested in helping me throughly. 6/5 stars, the front desk recipient is very helpful. Very impressed.

C Kirk: TERRIBLE embassy. The employees are extremely rude, will get mad at you, rush you, hang up on you (if you are lucky enough to get someone on the line), and they do not know anything about their own regulations. Absolute worst embassy or even government office I have had the unfortunate need to interact with.

Hans Han: My interaction with the Korean embassy took place over several occasions, and each time I (or one of my family members) spoke with the staff members here (specifically Inés Ha, who was especially kind and patient), we came away with the impression that the embassy personnel were kind, knowledgeable, and efficient when it came to dealing with all relevant matters. I can’t say enough good things, and I really appreciated the generosity of the staff members’ time.

Changular: The lady at window 6 was helpful and nice. However the gentleman at window 5 completely useless. You dare ask him anything he will roll his eyes and act like you are a huge bother. I was completely thrown off by his behavior and I don’t understand how that goes unnoticed by his superiors. I had to go back multiple times in order to complete simple paper work because of the unclear directions given.

HB Jenkins: I had an excellent experience calling the consulate and embassy. They promptly returned my call and gave very concise information, the representative of the embassy was very friendly and answered all my questions and even offered additional info to make sure I had what I needed to make an informed decision! I appreciate you!!

Dasol Jung: Last week, I went in to have my family certificate translated. There, I filled out forms as instructed. When it was my turn, the man behind the glass wall simply said the form was insufficient. I explained that I found the form on the official website and asked for his help to find the version he was referring to. He simply said, “Google it.” I went back and forth several times and could not find the form so I asked him to share the link with me. There was no other person waiting at the office; yet he was on his phone the whole time and gave out a big sigh. The rest of the visit went something like this: Him whispering and laughing amongst his colleagues and when I asked a question, he replied, “What do you think?” My experience does not seem to be an anomaly. There are several bad reviews online; some of which describe humiliation, disrespect, and disappointments. Why should this be how Korea is represented in the U.S.? How is this being overlooked by the management team? Why do the government workers in the office think it’s okay to treat people this way? My intention is not to have certain government workers fired. In fact, I sincerely hope that is not the only solution to this problem. My hope is that the management acknowledge the current issue and spread positivity, manner, and sense of respect from top down. People who visit the consulate are usually in need of the country’s support in a foreign land. They come for help because they feel helpless. They come for support because they’re desperate. The rudeness needs to stop. #dckoreanembassy #dckoreanconsulate
