SWEAT DC: what do users think?
Ariyana Monee
Ariyana Monee: This is a damn good gym. I will say that I have not necessarily fell in love with every class, BUT i love the welcoming environment, texts, emails, website. The most negative thing I have to say about it is the location. The harassment getting to it is insane. There’s catcalling every time which is draining. I’m sure this isn’t their intention to make female customers feel unsafe but I do wish there were some security or something. My only other con is I wish there were classes that were specifically for intro people. My friend and I did a class today focusing on upper body but it was definitely not beginner friendly in our opinion. So we won’t do that class anymore. The HIIT classes tho.. those so far have been AMAZING & beginner friendly!!
Response: Thank so much for coming through and being part of our community. Glad you overall enjoyed your experience. We do offer ongoing free one on one consultations with a coach if you have any questions about class or want to know the best ways to navigate class as a beginner. As far as the harassment we denounce any of this and have been in talks with our local representatives, but unfortunately have little control of what happens down the block. We do take every precaution we can to ensure all of our members safety. Thanks for the review and hope to see you again soon.
Ali Tharrington
Ali Tharrington: I have been a member of SWEAT DC now since May 2021. I love this place dearly. Seriously challenging workouts with super supportive coaches and a great atmosphere that makes me feel like family. Worth every penny I spend on their “unlimited” membership. I go every weekday before work and never have trouble parking. I take a mix of their Sweat X (HIIT) and SSC (strength training with weights) and love having the flexibility to build my own schedule. I anticipate being a member for a long time to come!
Response: Ali you are a shining star and really brighten up our community thank you for being you!!!
Kara Terrell
Kara Terrell: Great instructors that push you to focus on becoming the best version of yourself. I took two 60 minute classes and one 30 minute class - all were challenging but I loved the fast pace of the 30 minute class the most. We rowed, hit the ropes then worked our cores on the floor. #feelingstrong
Response: Kara thanks so much we love having you.
Becky Rose Bitar
Becky Rose Bitar: SWEAT DC is an AMAZING full body workout with great instructors who always have high energy, positive attitudes, and passion for what they do. They offer a wide range of classes for whatever you are looking for. The instructors are very accommodating if you have an injury or need a modification for any reason. The members are very friendly and offer a "community" experience every time you go. Not to mention the studio is always spotless and smells great (very important in gym). Branden Allen is one of their best trainers, although they are all amazing. GREAT GYM!
Response: Thanks Becky! All of us contribute to the vibe keep up the moves :-)
Alex Landau
Alex Landau: I LOVE Sweat DC! It’s everything I was looking for in a gym. It feels like a personal training session in a group setting. The coaches and front desk staff are top notch- they’re supportive, encouraging, and just really nice people. They know your name and take the time to establish personal connections. I enjoy the workouts (they’ve pushed me to work harder than I ever have) and can already feel mental and physical changes in 6 weeks. I like the Sweat DC routine and how it’s the same each class but the exercises change and there’s fun equipment to use too. I didn’t think I would like having to schedule/sign up for each class but it has actually forced me to be more consistent with my workouts and establish self discipline with going on days even when I don’t feel like working out (afterwards I’m always glad that I went!). Thank you Sweat DC for the opportunity to be my best self and of course, get sweaty! ;)
Response: Alex WE LOVE LOVE LOVE having you. Keep up the great work and thanks for making our community what it is.
Whitney Stringer
Whitney Stringer: From personal training sessions to the variety of classes, Sweat DC is a true gem. Their entire coaching staff has such great energy, it’s contagious. The workouts will challenge you in a good way. I also love the music. Sometimes “workout” mixes leave you with corny versions of good songs, but not here. The low lights in class let you really focus on why you’re there , and bonus points that they’re a local small brand that welcomes everybody!
Response: Whitney thanks so much you have really stuck with us for a long time and we appreciate it. Keep it up
Morenike Ayo-Vaughan
Morenike Ayo-Vaughan: I never write reviews but I came here to emphasize how awesome this space is! Coach G is a fun instructor who always challenges me every single time I take his class. I definitely feel like I get a fantastic workout in 45 minutes. The STRONG and HIIT classes are the TRUTH! Also, this is a small business and this is a small business worth supporting!
Response: Thank you so much for this love we are great because of our community and people like you. See you soon in the SWEAT zone.

Reformation Fitness: what do users think?
DC Techie
DC Techie: Wanted to love the class/studio but had a mediocre experience. Few modifications provided during abs class made for a precarious situation for first timers. Teacher did not seem to notice anyone but the regulars. Room was packed. The sequence went too quickly. Given the class type, may have benefited from less moves or more repetition so we could work on form rather than struggle to get set up. Positives: clean studio with water dispenser and lockers. Variety of classes offered. Good AC and cool temperature in classroom
Bonafide Experiment
Bonafide Experiment: IMO, this is the best gym in DC. Love the energy of trainers and attendees here. The trainers are inspiring, professional, and attentive to each one’s posture and growth. They also have a supportive community where you feel welcomed even when you come here for the first time. I have been following their virtual classes but can’t wait to go back and take pilates classes when the summer ends.
Allie Medack
Allie Medack: Awesome classes. Every time I go, I know I’m going to get a great workout. Whether you’re a beginner or someone who has worked out for years and loves to be pushed, the instructors tailor the class to your intensity levels and needs. This is my favorite studio in DC.
Lauren Kane
Lauren Kane: The trainers know you by name and it feels like a community. Any issues with passes are resolved swiftly and effectively. Really awesome staff. I moved from around the corner from the gym to all the way out in Maryland and I will still gladly drive the 40 minutes to go to a class at Reformation Fitness any day.
Caitlin Baker
Caitlin Baker: The workouts are always well thought out and challenging and the teachers are awesome. The studio has a great community feel and the prices are reasonable. My favorite workout studio in DC!

I started working with her while trying to work through some lingering injuries and she has helped me get to the point I wanted to be. She always listened and was attentive to how my body was moving day to day. No two sessions were alike. I have learned better form and more unique exercises that truly have made a difference. FIT360 DC: what do users think?
Gaby Madrid
Gaby Madrid: FIT360DC is the BEST gym in DC!! 👏🏽👏🏽 They go above and beyond to make sure that everyone is staying safe and healthy during the pandemic. They also have a variety of workout options to fit your comfort level. I absolutely loved their in-person classes!! I recently moved and have joined their virtual classes. The virtual classes are just as challenging and engaging as the in-person classes. Brian, Edgar, and Amina hold it down for folks on the virtual side, and have kept me from turning into a couch potato 🙃💕
Ariyana Monee
Ariyana Monee: Great gym. Just wish there was more (and safer) parking , especially in evenings.
Rizwaan Akhtar
Rizwaan Akhtar: An amazingly effective and inclusive gym. Though I left this gym a year ago due to a move, I still credit my physical wellness today to Brian and FIT360. Because of their both challenging and welcoming environment, I not only grew stronger and healthier, but I feel like I have a solid foundational knowledge to build on. I credit this a lot to Brian’s unique and effective instruction. Especially now after joining a new gym after my move from DC, I’ve really come to appreciate how high-touch their support is. I wouldn’t be able to weightlift, do kettlebell exercises, or use other equipment safely and confidently in my new gym today if it wasn’t for FIT360. Their trainers actually take the time to carefully instruct, give feedback, and keep you safe. Also this gym totally raised the bar for me in terms of what to look for in my new city. A gym can both motivate you to show up and know you’ll be welcome, and it can challenge you to be a stronger, faster, and fitter version of yourself.
Golzar Meamar
Golzar Meamar: I was struggling to find a way to get back into strength training and moving my body intentionally during the pandemic. I am very lucky to live around the corner from this gem of a community gym! During the COVID-19 pandemic, Fit360 DC has been very communicative, flexible, and innovative when it comes to helping its members workout safely. The outdoor classes are challenging and efficient, and are completely masked and distanced, which has made them that much more valuable to me during the pandemic! The coaches are also informative and helpful, and challenge us consistently!

Orangetheory Fitness: what do users think?
90Pitin
90Pitin: A nice place if you don’t care about personal classes, and coaches and staff are really nice. But, they are ruthless with their cancellation/freezing policies. After having a new baby and going back to work (I’m a physician) I tried to cancel/freeze my subscription for time and financial reasons. The last day of my month I tried to do it, and because it is the day they charged me, they want to charge me TWO more months before cancelling my account due to their policies of not letting them know the month prior (basically one day ago). Absurd, abusive and inflexible even in the setting of trying to cancel for financial and personal reasons. Maybe if they were more empathic and helpful, I would have freeze my account, but this situation made me cancel and will not consider OT again in the future. I guess this is an issue with big gyms like this one, a lack flexibility.
Response: Martin, I'm sorry for your less than satisfactory experience while trying to cancel your membership. We're actually not a big gym rather we are a small business, independently owned, local franchise of Orangetheory Fitness. However, we have to follow corporate policy. Note that Orangetheory Fitness is a global franchise with network-wide rules & policies. We have to enforce the rules equally for all the members. At the time of sign-up we specifically go over the cancellation policy and the advance notice required for cancellation prior to charges going through. Unfortunately you failed to provide an advance notice. However, in your situation the studio manager connected with you when she was alerted by the front desk staff. We worked with you to come to a resolution to your satisfaction. I hope that was acceptable to you and that you'll consider making Orangetheory part of your fitness journey in the future. For further questions or concerns please reach out to us at the studio's email: studio0437@orangetheoryfitness.com
Gregory J
Gregory J: Extremely predatory pricing. I had an “unlimited” membership, and they still looked for every avenue to nickel and dime me beyond that. When I forgot a heart monitor, they gave me a temp one for the day and didn’t tell me they were charging me ten bucks to “rent” it for that session. When I booked a class for the next day at 10pm and cancelled an hour and a half later because I wasn’t feeling well, they charged me fourteen dollars for a “cancel fee.” When I went in to cancel my unlimited membership as a result, they informed me I was locked in to pay for another TWO full months. I know gyms have a reputation for this sort of thing, but these folks take it to a new level. If you must, do NOT pay for anything but an individual class or two - you will regret it and end up paying hundreds more than you expected.
Response: Greg, we're sorry for your less than satisfactory experience at OTF. Our goal is to always provide top notch customer experience. It appears that you signed up for a membership about a month ago and you enjoyed free unlimited classes as part of our summer promotion. We appreciate you trusting us to make us part of your fitness journey. Orangetheory Fitness has set rules and policies across the network of thousands of studios. At the time of sign up we go over all these policies with the member, including cancellation process for the membership, heart rate monitor rental prices, and late cancel rules for classes among other Rules & Policies for the studio. There is a separate document that you signed which goes over all these policies. At the time of sign up we go over the membership cancellation process also. It requires one-month notice to cancel and one final payment with complete access to classes for the final month that you pay for. As for the class late cancel process, our app will automatically assign a late cancel to you if you cancel a class within 8 hours of the class. However, if you text or call us before class time with a legitimate reason, e.g. not feeling well or reschedule to another class on the same day, we are always considerate and remove the late cancel charge, within reason. The studio management will connect with you to listen to and alleviate your concerns. We hope that you will continue your fitness journey with OTF and continue to see the results that your hard work produces with OTF classes.
Danielle Guido
Danielle Guido: I like that Orange Theory workouts have a lot of variety, in both the layout of each class (moving between rower, treadmill, and floor) and the goals of each workout (endurance and/or strength). The workout makes you work, pushing me harder than I would push myself on my own, and goes by quickly as you listen to the instructor and move between each section. I also appreciate how friendly and helpful the staff is. Initially, I thought it was a little overkill to have to be there 30 minutes prior to my first workout, but that time was valuable to learn how the class works, what to expect, get setup with a heart rate monitor, and review any injuries that the instructor should be aware of. All in all, it was a great experience!
Isabella Pacheco
Isabella Pacheco: The music was a tad loud and I found a bit hard to listen to the instructor (but I think that was just how the instructor was managing the mic etc) The rest was great. The usual really good lots of calories burned workout. I was specially impressed by the way they were ready to receive me with paperwork and a locker as well as water for me to take into my class. Felt very welcomed!
Will Trokey
Will Trokey: Love my home studio! I have been a member of Orangetheory for over 2 years, and I continue to LOVE this workout. No two workouts are ever the same. The staff at this studio is very friendly and accommodating. They help you understand the policies and work with you on the technology involved. Plus, they added a towel service which I know is not offered at other studios outside of DC area to stay competitive with the intense gym market. You can customize your own workout, so if you are looking for a new challenge but feel intimidated check Orangetheory out.
Sarah Wingert
Sarah Wingert: I really enjoy this location of OTF. The coaches are very helpful, energetic, and kind. The front desk is also very welcoming and friendly. It is a supportive environment for improving your health and fitness. Even when the class is super challenging, the coaches encourage you and keep it fun.

Mahnaaz Ismailzadah
Mahnaaz Ismailzadah: I am very disappointed with this site. I love Orange Theory and rave about it to everyone. I am from NJ visiting my friend who recently moved to DC and i saw that she is walking distance from this OTF site. She was also thinking of joining a gym and I was highly recommending her to join OTF. I signed us up over the phone with Evon and let her know it will be my friend’s first time here. When we arrived 30 min before our work out, there was no one at the front desk for a while. Then when Evon finally came, we find out my friend was not added on to the roster and claimed we were “late”. Evon was being unkind and not understanding that we had called to have my friend try out a class before getting a membership. Evon was arguing back that your friend shouldve called back and that i didnt provide her information, even though she knew I was bringing a potential new member beforehand. She failed to put her on the roster and failed to communicate properly. I ended up cancelling my work out and we left disappointed and unhappy. I felt embarrassed and letdown because i clearly overhyped OTF and, when i brought my friend here the OTF staff did not care about their current member and potential new one.
Rod Thomas
Rod Thomas: 1st Visit: The team was friendly and welcoming. It made me less nervous before meeting the coach. Luke is such an engaging and motivating coach. He was awesome. The workout class was challenging but oh so worth it. I’ll definitely be back on Thursday. Update: I joined in May. The coaches, the classes, and the location is amazing. I have recommended OTF to all of my colleagues, neighbors, and friends. Love Coach Jihad, Coach Maddie, and Coach Luke- OTF on 14th is my favorite.
James Melgarejo
James Melgarejo: First time at this gym. Was visiting DC from NJ and took a 2G 45min class. Everyone including the coach was great! Highly recommend OTF!! 🔥🧡
Sarah B
Sarah B: I love this location. Admittedly it’s my home gym, but I wouldn’t pay for workouts every month if I didn’t love the OTF concept and how they implement it at OTF 14th Street. It’s a “select” location so you might pay a bit more, but I think it’s worth it. Most of the coaches are great, most of the classes have the right coach:client ratio, and the facilities are really nice. I love it, and everyone else who’s tried it has loved it, too.
Katherine Browne
Katherine Browne: Positive: Communication, Professionalism, QualityEnergetic and solid workout for all fitness levels. Staff and coaches are super friendly and helpful.
Michael Williams
Michael Williams: Demi is amazing! A perfect balance of fun yet she pushes us. I really enjoy her classes! I have really worried about joining a class like this but from my first one, I felt like home here. My fears were relieved when I met the staff and this is a great community. I have never enjoyed working out as much.

Bourne 2 Fly Fitness: what do users think?
Miss Rei
Miss Rei: Amazing energy! This gym may be just a small gym to the untamed eye but it’s spirit is definitely larger than life! When I come to my classes whether I’m doing personal training or hoping into the fit camp. I feel welcomed and without judgment. Leon is a great instructor that reminds me of my own person strength and helps motivate me on the right track. I can’t wait to try their yoga classes as well!
Response: Thank you for your kind words! Hope you are well!
Jeselene Andrade
Jeselene Andrade: The gym is amazing the workouts are original and effective. The trainer/owner(Leon) is very knowledgeable and attentive to your concerns and needs and can adapt to whatever level you are at with your fitness goals. You leave the class with your body feeling like its working and Not to mention they provide other classes like the youth boxing, yoga on Tuesday(amazing instructor:Jarrick) .... over all if your looking to take steps to starting your fitness journey or if you need a place to call your home gym Bourne2fly fitness is it!
Response: Thank you so much for this great review and kind words! We look forward to seeing you again soon!
Jessica Rios
Jessica Rios: Every time I go in, Leon is ready with a warm up and we get right into our workout routine which I love!! Not only is he motivating us throughout the workout but if he sees improper technique, he will correct it so that you can maximize your performance. Never the same workout and always high energy which is much needed because these workouts are no joke but I appreciate every second of them! ❤️
Response: Thank you for your comment Jess. You're a great addition to class! Keep up the positive attitude!
TaylorMade Robinson
TaylorMade Robinson: The owners are welcoming, kind and caring. The class facilitators are knowledgeable, professional and talented. I thoroughly enjoyed my yoga session, it pushed me safely and I highly recommend this establishment to all trying to improve their physicality from beginner to advanced. Thanks Bourne to Fly! I’ll be back for sure
Response: Taylor, thank you for your review. We love that you felt safe in pushing your own limits in class.
Nathalie Brooks
Nathalie Brooks: I tried yoga for the first time in my life at Bourne2Fly with instructional Jarrick. I’ll start by saying that I was a little intimidated and nervous about doing yoga, especially with people that were more advanced than me; but Bourne2Fly offered such a comfortable, personal touch that made the atmosphere great to be in. You don’t get that personal touch at most gyms. At Bourne2Fly I felt like I had my own personal yoga instructor. I’ll be back for more.
Response: Nathalie, thank you so much for your review and kind words! Jarrick does a great job setting us up for success in yoga! We hope to see you again soon on your yoga journey!
Roosevelt Boone
Roosevelt Boone: I had the chance to visit Bourne 2 Fly before the Covid-19 pandemic. Love the innovation of the workout, as well as the space! Having a safe, all-inclusive Gym in my neighborhood is something I’ve always longed for. The staff was great, the equipment was new and the support from the others in my class was awesome! I will definitely be back and encourage others to do the same.
Response: Roosevelt, thank you for your review. We appreciate the love.
P B
P B: I had an awesome experience at Bourne 2 Fly. The customer service is superb. Leon is personable and inviting. He even threw a holiday event inviting all of his clients and providing the chance for everyone to mix and mingle. I completed several one on one personal training sessions with Leon and he helped me to not only meet goals but far exceeded my expectations. During my initial consultation, Leon paid attention to my goals and what I considered my weaknesses. Even when I sustained an injury (not due to working out), Leon customized my workout plan to help me recover and to help strengthen the injured area. He was mindful of the things i told him that i was doing in physical therapy and helped to support. Sessions began on time and the space and equipment are clean.
Response: Thank you for your comment and 5 star rating!

MADabolic Dupont: what do users think?
Enkhtuul T
Enkhtuul T: Madabolic is an awesome place to workout. The coaches really pay attention to your perfect form! They also have a great welcome offer for new clients.
Emily Scheck
Emily Scheck: I never imagined I would enjoy group fitness classes over solo training but MADabolic’s programming keeps things interesting and I’m always excited for the challenge of the next class! I’ve never felt lost in the crowd and know that the coaches are ensuring proper form and helping you get the most out of each movement and class. Eric and the rest of the team at MADabolic are what got me hooked (after my very first class!) and keep me coming back, as they’ve fostered a fun and welcoming space for people of any level. I cannot recommend MADabolic enough!
Sam Grayck
Sam Grayck: Really fun, engaging environment and coaching! This is the kind of diversified, cross-training style workout that you can go to every day for full-body conditioning. They also have ridiculously affordable promos that make this the most economically accessible gym I’ve found in the DMV.
Carly Smith
Carly Smith: Not your average DC fitness boutique. Zero intimidation, warm and welcoming. Coaches are patient and knowledgeable. They focus on form and safety. No pressure to overextend yourself or work outside your comfort zone. All levels are welcome and respected! Very fun community!
Gerald Prado
Gerald Prado: 5 stars are just not enough, the human beings behind this program deserve more than that. Here’s why: 1. The trainers train with you! (Most of the times, you’ll be able to find trainers in your class as classmates). 2. They are humble enough to receive feedback from both their colleagues, and customers. 3. Extremely professional. Some days, my performance is slow af. I am sure they don’t know the reason why, but their professionalism shows up and take the time -and patience- to explain you again and again, step by step, and guide you through, until you get this properly done.! The program speaks loud by itself! That’s why this review focuses on the human-qualities of the people behind! 10/10 recommended!
Luca Simmons
Luca Simmons: After being an Orangetheory member for years, I wanted to change it up. What a great decision! They are an outstanding gym with coaches who not only motivate you to give you’re all but also they pay attention to proper form and ensure you’re getting everything out of the workout. I wish I started years ago.

Washington Navy Yard Fitness Center: what do users think?
Lyric Hyatt
Lyric Hyatt: This gym is great and offers free personal training to active duty military members. They also offer group fitness classes and have three floors with a paddleball court, cardio machines, free weights and resistance machines, tons of workout accessories and locker rooms on two floors for men and women with showers.
Luke Hahn
Luke Hahn: Kept extremely clean with well kept equipment. Some places will need some extra ventilation still is a great and versatile facility for a DC gym.

Burt Melzer: Great gym and fitness center. Good choice of cardio items as well as weights. This is on base so you need access to base to be able to get on.
Eric Driest
Eric Driest: Has all the equipment to get a good workout in, can be crowded during the morning hours 🏋️💪
Vanessa Amaya
Vanessa Amaya: Great staff, very clean and organized gym!

Balance Gym Thomas Circle: what do users think?
J
J: I was visiting DC and did a few CrossFit drop in classes. The coaches were excellent and welcoming, and all of the class members were very friendly. The facility is excellent. Thanks for making my visit so nice.
Somak Ghosh
Somak Ghosh: Used to be a member of the foggy bottom location and liked it. Not so much this one. -The equipment is probably from the 1980s. Some of the plates are so old they’ve turned red. Yet I’ve been charged multiple enhancement fees. -A lot of the machines are breaking down and don’t get regularly fixed. -The staff is nice but not that helpful. Other locations will actually help you and they have designated staff to hell tidy the weights -Most of the good equipment is in the CrossFit area. If you just want to lift weights you’re second class in this gym. I’ll probably leave soon. I wanted to end my “annual” membership but I learned in the fine text of my contract that it’s actually 13 months. Another scummy move.
Response: Hey Somak, Thank you for bringing this feedback to our attention! I'm sorry you feel that your experience at our Thomas Circle location isn't up to par with our other locations. We really strive to be a great fitness community for all of our members. I'd love to have the opportunity to further discuss your experiences here, in hopes that we can do better. Please email me directly at chris@balancegym.com so we can work together to bring you a better fitness experience! Best, Chris General Manager Balance Gym
Alistair Perumal
Alistair Perumal: Used this gym for a month in DCReally enjoyed the atmosphere and most especially the Sanitized environmentWould go again!
Jack Sykstus
Jack Sykstus: Was a long time member. Went to both Thomas Circle and Foggy Bottom locations frequently. Great gym in the DC area, and live the CrossFit programming. Tons of options for fitness there. Go if you can.
Kristin Dion
Kristin Dion: The staff was friendly, the facilities seemed clean, hand sanitizer was well stocked, and the classes have been helpful!
Obi Asemota
Obi Asemota: I joined this gym with my wife about a year ago after seeing how well kept the place is, and how professional the staff and trainers conducted themselves. We’ve been doing our evening work outs ever since, and I must say, the ties we’ve made with the people here are just beyond words. One of the best gyms in DC, without a doubt.
Response: Obi- Thanks and we're fortunate to have you as part of our community. Take care and keep training!
Caetie Ofiesh
Caetie Ofiesh: Easily the best gym in the city, reasonably priced and a great workout atmosphere - nice but not fancy, lots of people serious about fitness. Ive gotten some of my best training advice from staff there, Michael, Stacy, Aesha and others.
Libby
Libby: I never write reviews, however, given my horrible experience I decided to share. Belonged to this gym for a few months. Everything smells, needs to be cleaned / updated. You can see the machine rust / falling apart. You get what you pay for. Customer service is horrible. There is one woman who has a horrible attitude and closes the gym 15 minutes early than the actual listed closing time and rudely rushed me and other people working out at the gym on multiple occasions. I tried cancelling my membership and they made it extremely difficult and ended up charging me for 2 extra months, despite me moving more than 10 miles away. Overall, bad experience wouldn’t recommend.
Brendan Gregory
Brendan Gregory: Really awesome gym! Lots of squat racks and bars on the second floor. First floor is just for cross fit but the rest of the building is for regular gym members. They also have personal training in a separate studio right on 14th Street.
Response: Thanks Brendan! PS- Is that a FD RX7?!
David Lapidus
David Lapidus: Fantastic gym. Have been a member since 2012 (Thomas Circle location) and been happy the whole time. Plenty of squat racks and places to perform olympic lifts. GREAT membership options especially compared to the bloodsucking national chain gyms.
Response: Thank you for the review David! #balancelife

Motivate Personal Fitness Academy
Motivate Personal Fitness Academy: Last week I hopped on a plane from CA to DC to attend an educational event at Align. Let me tell you, the course was top notch, hands on, and educationally rich. The facility is world class, and the staff matches that. I cannot wait to attend another course here in the future and hope to continue to learn from Chris!
Carole Feld
Carole Feld: The best fitness studio in the area, maybe the nation. Applies the latest Fascia research with a customized fitness approach for each client. Work with an incredible group of practitioners and helpful and awesome staff. Founded by fascia guru Chris Rodousakis. Stay young and flexible and feeling great no matter your age from people in their 20’s to beyond.

Physicality DC: what do users think?
Meghna Balakumar
Meghna Balakumar: I’m way overdue in writing this review. Chris Garay is extremely knowledgeable, professional, kind and highly skilled. He has such a profound understanding of anatomy and is able to scale exercises for anyone. As someone who was told I should never workout by all of my doctors, my joints have never felt better and I owe it all to Physicality. After 7 years of constant back and knee pain, I’m virtually pain free and am so much stronger. Highly recommend coming here if you want to focus on strength, stability and mobility.
Response: Thank you for such a kind review Meghna, and it has been amazing to see your progress while training with us!
Ana Kiklevich
Ana Kiklevich: I was looking online for a trainer in DC to improve my strength in gymnastics and aerial acrobatics and found Physicality GST. Excited, I rushed the next day to check out the gym facility and meet the coaching team. My expectations were totally exceeded. Facility-wise - very well equipped with pretty much all you need for hard core gymnastics and strength training. But what is a facility without a coach? Chris is extremely knowledgeable, methodical, confident, versatile, and on top of that, a great cheerleader. Trust me, you will need it in strength training! As our sessions progress, I am impressed with the exercises he chooses for each pt session. They are challenging, non-standard, and simply working. I am on my way to great things with this coach!
Francis Jung
Francis Jung: I, a physical therapist, have been collaborating with coach Cory Hill to serve mutual clients for several years. Coach Hill with a record of World Champion in Taekwondo has very unique holistic approaches and is one of the best movement/exercise experts in DC area. He promotes and enhances best optimal outcomes safely for his clients. I highly recommend him and his facility.
Elias Riskin
Elias Riskin: Can’t recommend this place enough. It’s addicting. Chris, Cory, and Shawn do an incredible job scaling each class and exercise so that it’s always challenging but attainable. I’ve had a long history of back, hip, knee, and shoulder injuries and their program has helped correct my structural and muscular imbalances and move me to a place where I’m virtually pain free.
Aaron Trent
Aaron Trent: Truly excellent, thoughtful and effective gymnastics-based strength and mobility training. I’ve been training with Physicality for a little over a year, and my shoulder strength and stability has increased dramatically.
Emmi Marie
Emmi Marie: Great gym, great owner, very well organized, great instruction!

Foundation Fitness of Georgetown: what do users think?
Suad Nsouli
Suad Nsouli: I cannot recommend Fitness Foundation Georgetown enough! I have been training with them since June 2021. My trainer is Michaela and I am so happy with my fitness results. I love how they tailor your fitness plan to you. I highly recommend this gym. They have a clean facility, friendly staff that give you positive marks so you keep reaching your goals. Kimior is also great, he gives excellent tips on nutrition and answers any fitness questions I may have. 5 stars across the board! Thank you Fitness Foundation Georgetown for helping me reach my goals with my fitness journey:)
Joseph Buccina
Joseph Buccina: I have been very happy with my training at Foundation Fitness. My trainer (Michaela) is awesome. She does a great job of tailoring my workouts (using free weights, plyos, and stretching) to my goals. The gym itself has good equipment and is no-frills, which probably allows for the reasonable prices. I highly recommend checking them out!
Eleni Lobene
Eleni Lobene: I was really dreading returning to the gym after a couple of COVID years working out at home- and I was skeptical I’d be able to accomplish more in a gym environment than I was able to on my own at home… but a friend told me about Foundation Fitness and I’m so grateful! It has totally changed my thinking about gyms and what I can do! The trainers are amazing. You walk in and it’s a VIP experience every time. You don’t feel like you’re walking into a big box gym and getting lost in the crowd at all. You get custom workouts with your trainer who knows you and your goals every time AND there’s no awkwardly navigating sharing equipment or trying to figure out new ways to challenge your body. Just outsource the thinking to the experts!! I’m stronger than I’ve ever been and genuinely look forward to going to the gym. I even miss it on off days! Highly, highly recommend.
Hadeel Fayad
Hadeel Fayad: I have been training at foundation fitness for over 6 months. The facility is well equipped, the staff is wonderful, and Covid protocols are very well followed. Michaela is knowledgeable and is extremely responsive and flexible. I highly recommend this facility for anyone looking to stay healthy and get stronger
Taylor Williams
Taylor Williams: Very happy with my experience 1.5 months in. Kimior is a fantastic trainer and has been very effective in getting me up to speed and teaching me the basics. The gym is clean and is never crowded. They provide cardio equipment and a detailed warmup routine, encouraging clients to arrive 30-45 minutes to stretch and warmup. I think that has been a nice change compared to quite a few gyms that burn training time with warmup or don’t encourage it at all.
Linnea Sandin
Linnea Sandin: Positive: Professionalism, QualityI have been working out with Kimior at Foundation Fitness for about 2 months now. The gym has everything you need and is rarely crowded (usually only me and another person with our trainers). Kimior has really tailored my workouts to me and I actually enjoy working out for the first time in awhile!
Katie Hummel
Katie Hummel: Everyone is so friendly and professional, and Michaela is the best!!! She really does an amazing job at getting to know her clients and tailoring sessions to individual workout goals. The facility is always super clean and organized which I really appreciate during the pandemic. I also love how whenever I’m at the gym, I see people of all different ages and fitness levels. It really is a great place for anyone and everyone!

VIDA Fitness U Street: what do users think?
Benyam Ephrem
Benyam Ephrem: Overall: Solid gym, nothing is overtly missing. You can do everything you need to do. Summary: Basically 3 floors, cardio floor, machine + dumbbell floor, powerlifting floor (w/ dumbbell rack). Good: The ambiance and vibe is good. You feel like you are working out in a cave with a bunch of people. Bad: - Working out from 5-6/7 sucks. The gym is too small to serve the load of patrons at rush times. There aren’t enough benches & benches for presses so you find yourself waiting for major lifts. - If you go any other time that is non-rush it is a solid gym - The benches are way too close to the mirrors, you can’t do heavy lifts and drop weights. It just feels cramped. You have to maneuver around people doing heavy lifts and there are just personal space issues (when squatting I don’t want anyone near me, we have mental bubbles). - Maybe picky but the dumbbells are decent ones. I’ve used better with more grip (steel handle with a mesh pattern etched in). They are a bit narrow in grip and have plastic handles with decent grip. This nuance is kind of annoying and grip is worse so I just do few dumbbell movements now. I’d give ~3 1/2 stars but I imagine there is a huge constraint on real-estate within the city so a gym can only be so large, etc (can’t compare it to gyms I’ve been to elsewhere). But at ~$120/130/mo you’d want more space and just…more. But this was the closest complete gym option to me (.8 mile jog) and the vibes are good. Edit: Have visited all other branches. Nice to be able to switch up gyms on a day you have time to jog farther. Great branding & vibe consistency. Great value add if you want to switch things up and drop in other gyms.
Response: Hi Benyam, thank you for your review and feedback. We take great pride in our facilities and glad to hear you have overall had a great experience. I'll make sure to share the feedback regarding both the dumbbell grips and the placement of benches in relation to the mirror. I invite you to try out some of the other locations in your membership if you get the opportunity, although I can appreciate that our U Street location is less than a mile away from you and that's fantastic. Stay strong, stay well, and see you at VIDA again soon!
Taylor Hayes
Taylor Hayes: I pay entirely too much money for there to be towels in the floor from a roof leak, a scale in the locker room that has been low battery for a week so I can’t weigh myself, and RUDE STAFF. Will be canceling my membership this month.
Response: Hi Taylor, we're super bummed to hear this and our facilities team works hard to ensure these kind of issues don't happen. I'll flag this with them, as well as the management team at U Street, and see what's going on. We hope we don't lose you as a member and invite you to chat with the team there so they can actively address your concerns. Thanks for taking the time to provide this feedback. - The VIDA Team
David Gershman
David Gershman: In the most appropriate way, I can say that Vida does not prioritize member safety in its steam rooms and saunas.
Response: Hi David, thanks for taking the time to leave this feedback. We recently rolled out new policies regarding our steam rooms and sauna with this goal squarely in mind, so curious to hear what sort of issues you are having. Please feel free to speak to the GM at U Street privately and/or contact our DIB with your concerns. Their information can be found at www.vidafitness.com/diversityboard. We take our members safety very seriously. Thanks again.
Joe Kawly
Joe Kawly: The most decent gym in DC. But lately, they have been faking short especially when it comesTo maintenance. It feels like each day there is something not working.
Mattia Pallozzi
Mattia Pallozzi: Honestly I have had always a lovely experience, clean fun and the staff especially has always been pretty amazing, from managers to trainers! 👌🏻👌🏻
Response: Hi Mattia, thanks so much for the 5 star review! We think our staff is pretty awesome too and glad to hear you're getting such great service. Not to mention our housekeeping team, which we truly believe is the best in the biz. Thanks again and see you at U Street again soon!
Harry Longlast
Harry Longlast: I a had meeting with Paul and all I can say is that I have never felt so uncomfortable and embarrassed before. His rude comments about my " big chunky thighs and lack of motivation " were very unprofessional. How do you even motivate someone by highlighting his/her insecurities? He was very rude and impatient. I am not an experienced lifter, however I was under the impression that the staff and culture at vida fitness were solid. The level of unprofessionalism really upset me and will for sure never come back. He was trying way too hard and pushing me to buy a membership and did not even consider my questions, concerns. I believe as a sales director or rep; you must be able to not only know your product but to hear your clients needs in order to better cater to their need. I run a local blog with over 5,000 daily readers and will for sure write about this awful experience. I understand I am overweight but I want to make the changes in my life that get me healthier; I just wish mr Paul, as a professional would be more empathetic and see me as a human being; not just a number.
Reynaldo Castillo
Reynaldo Castillo: Positive: ProfessionalismAmazing workout experience from the membership consultation to the quality of the facility. Paul Leiby understood my fitness goals and listened to all my concerns as I came from another gym franchise. I fully endorse the quality of the experience and I guaranty you will see results in your fitness goals.
Response: Thank you for the kind and thoughtful review, Reynaldo! We're thrilled to have you as a member of the VIDA Fitness U Street community, and we're delighted to hear that Paul has been such an asset in helping you reach your fitness goals. Take care - and thank you for joining us!
Jordan Bayless
Jordan Bayless: Absolutely love the gym itself. The facility is large and has a dedicated floor for compound lifts filled with squat racks and deadlift platforms. Unfortunately, personal trainers usually dominate this space and use it for calisthenics and TRX workouts. Granted, they seem very focused on ensuring their clients have a great experience, just at the cost of other members. As a result, there is almost never an open rack or platform. The locker rooms are top notch. With a sauna, steam room, and showers that have excellent bath products, there is amazing attention to detail. The rest of the facility is nice as well. Although, it is devoid of some typically essential equipment such as seated leg curls. These spaces, to include cardio rooms, are often overcrowded and only seem to be less trafficked from 11:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. Overall, the facility is great, to include the rooftop pool. However, these seem to be used as selling points to encourage new members and after joining, the organization only is invested in trying to get members to spend more money through personal trainers, nutritionists, etc. rather than ensure members spending $180/month have an enjoyable experience.

MADabolic DC H Street: what do users think?
Cristina Camacho
Cristina Camacho: MAD is the best gym I’ve found in DC by far! I was looking to rejoin fitness classes after the pandemic and knew I wanted to join MAD before my 5 for $5 trial even ended. The coaches are all both challenging and motivating, and welcoming to members of all fitness levels. In the 8 months I’ve been a member I’ve gotten noticeably stronger and have felt great!
Kristi Boswell
Kristi Boswell: I have been an athlete and consistent with my workouts forever, but still always got ancy and had to change up gyms/workouts/methods. My favorite part of MAD is the variety of workouts yet they are structured so you are equipped and never feel lost! The community is fantastic and coaches are all helpful for all fitness levels!
Raquel Gomez Fernandez
Raquel Gomez Fernandez: MAD is the only fitness class that I have consistently gone back to. I truly enjoy going and I feel supported by the coaches throughout every class. Their system is also great at welcoming everyone—from beginners to gym pros. There’s a level for every person and every mood.
Ariel McMillan
Ariel McMillan: I’ve lived in DC for almost 10 years and have tried just about every studio in the city (the old and the new). MADabolic is one of the only studios that leverages strength training, proper form, and progressive overload to make you strong. They also encourage consistency, proper rest and recovery, and sustainable nutrition. MAD is the home for high achievers and their culture is top notch. I was so intimated before my first class and now I’ve taken over 250 classes. The best thing you can do for yourself is to give MAD a try. You won’t regret it.
Aisha Patel
Aisha Patel: This gym is absolutely the best and ALL of the trainers are exceptional. It is really hard to find a gym that keeps it exciting every class and MADabolic does just that. Each class is unique and it’s rare that you ever get bored of the classes. The instructors care about your engagement and form and motivate you to meet much more than your goals. I would recommend this gym to anyone looking to get healthy, happy and strong!
Daniela Martínez Berríos
Daniela Martínez Berríos: MADabolic is amazing— from the supportive coaches, to the varied programming, and their welcoming space/community. I’ve been going consistently for months and cannot imagine leaving! Would absolutely recommend if you’re looking to build your strength or a positive outlet for your mental health.
Navdeep Singh
Navdeep Singh: The environment that is present during the workout is amazing. From coaches to other members, everyone is so encouraging and supportive during workouts. The emphasis on form/technique during the exercises helps a lot and let’s you learn how to improve each time. I was losing interest in working out before I came to MADabolic but now my passion is back and I look forward to attending classes.
Amber Kimble
Amber Kimble: Great exercise experience! Everyone is super supportive in helping you reach your health goals. Renee, Camille, and Tricia are really great at giving pointers and help you prevent work out injuries. A Motivating bunch!

Response: Thanks for the 5 stars, Joann!

Crissi Luv: I love this gym. Spa like and tranquil. The classes are a1. Times are great. Classes all day.

M Ben A
M Ben A: Walked in there to ask for membership and tour told only with an “advisor” not very welcoming that’s what I felt 😠the guy on the front desk did not even offer an appointment !!!
Response: Hi Ben, we're sorry to hear you've had this experience. We hope that you'll give us another shot to show you the service we are capable of providing. Brandon Morris
Brandon Morris: Critical: Communication, ProfessionalismSet up a membership without my consent. When I tried to email them to make sure it was cancelled they tried to sell me another membership. Very poor business practices. As a former member, I could have been an easy sell, but will never rejoin after this experience.
Ryan D
Ryan D: When it comes to a gym, you get what you pay for, and, although this is a bit pricey and restrictive, that added benefits make me want to go to the gym. Excellent free weight section and class offerings. My only suggestion--extend closing hour from 8:00 pm to 10:00 p.m.
Evan Long
Evan Long: Everything you’d expect from the brand, and very seldom crowded except at absolute peak times. They’ve taken enhanced sanitation seriously given COVID, and I particularly appreciate that they kept their word and allowed me to break my one-year contract a couple months early when I moved away.
Trade Stock
Trade Stock: Critical: Communication, Professionalism, Quality2 experiences with this gym, 2 different employees. Both atrocious, -100/1. The have the same attitude your kids have when they start growing up. Beware...
Wallace Bachman
Wallace Bachman: So glad Equinox has found its way into DC proper! This location is spacious by New York Equinox standards, both on the floor, which is a single floor with ample natural light, and the men’s locker room. It’s very clean, the staff are friendly and beautiful, and everything is in great repair. I’ve never been to an Equinox where the stretching area was so well-equipped (bands etc etc) and well organized. The Juice Press was small and didn’t have much, but that seems to be the way of Equinox juice bars over the last several years. 😢

Orangetheory Fitness: what do users think?
K N
K N: We are used to OTF being a welcoming environment, with lots of positivity at our home studio. When we visited Capitol Hill, Laura at the front desk was very rude and had a lot of negative energy. From the start to the end of class, she was mean and snappy with us. Other than that, the rest of the staff was awesome and provided a great workout! Get rid of Laura
Eva Riddick (Onetruth2014)
Eva Riddick (Onetruth2014): Positive: QualityOrange Theory never disappoints. The workouts are varied, challenging and fun. Coaches are well skilled and very professional. The Capitol Hill location is well managed and I always feel engaged.
Bronwyn Llewellyn
Bronwyn Llewellyn: I like the variety, the challenges, the positive atmosphere, and the coaches! Definitely keeps me motivated to continue coming back!
Harvard Public Health Review
Harvard Public Health Review: We have been shopping for a "fitness home" in the Capital Hill area, and cannot recommended Orangetheory Fitness enough. The staff are welcoming, and the facility clean and safe. It is kind of an unusual workout flow; however, staff clearly explained it to us before the class began and provided numerous updates throughout the session. I cannot recommend it enough!
Valerie Lefaive
Valerie Lefaive: Was totally intimidated before joining Orange Theory. I thought only the super-fit joined. I was so wrong! Love the program and the coaches are da bomb.
Adrianne Marsh
Adrianne Marsh: I need to work out differently now that I’m a mom of two and Orange Theory allows me to pack a lot into an hour during times that work well for me. The workouts take intense effort and cut them into bite size pieces that feel/are totally doable. You don’t even realize how hard you’re working until it’s done. The coaches, staff, music and equipment are all approachable and frankly encouraging. You don’t dread going - you can’t wait to get as many done in a week as you can because you know the more you go the better the results!
anne hunt
anne hunt: I appreciate that the workout can be done by people at all levels. After a knee injury a few years ago and some other physical issues, I want to get a good workout AND not hurt myself! So I am grateful for Orangetheory giving me the option to power walk instead of run, do low impact floor exercises instead of jump, and still burn tons of calories! Plus I like that the coaches are friendly, not aggressive, and motivate students through positive encouragement instead of yelling.
Kristine Hackman
Kristine Hackman: Loving OTF on the Hill! The facility is always clean, staff is always friendly, and even though the classes fill quickly, there is always a chance to move up off the wait list into the desired early morning classes. This was a very fun addition to my normal gym routine!

R bali
R bali: OTF has been my go to place for a great workout. The place has been impeccable in terms of inspiring coaching, cleanliness before and during the pandemic. The coaches, Julie is a force to reckon with and her energy and enthusiasm can brighten any dull day. Joanna is another gem with her kind demeanor and inspiring music. The owners are wonderful and truly vested in the place and put the customers first. So grateful that it’s been functional in-spite of the uncertainty around us.
Response: Thank you Ruchira! You are amazing and we love having you part of our community. Thank you so much for this!
Emily Ewers
Emily Ewers: The workouts are great and the coaches and staff are amazing! I have been doing Orange Theory for almost 3 years in various cities and this location is one of the best. Not to mention that I am in better shape than I was in my 20s! I hope this studio and OTF keep on doing what they’re doing because it’s definitely working :)

I feel and see the difference OTF has done for my health and body. The Tenleytown studio is especially great! All of the coaches clearly care and push you in an encouraging way and make sure you are doing what’s best for your health and body.
Response: Thank you Abby! This means the world to us!
Teresa Bernstein
Teresa Bernstein: Orange Theory is the BEST workout there is around! Hardest workout I’ve ever done, great variety, works your whole body — every day is different! Tenleytown location has awesome coaches and great music!
Response: Thank you for your 5 star review! We appreciate you!
Kerry Sturgill
Kerry Sturgill: Positive: Communication, Professionalism, QualityOT gives me strength, energy and fuel for my life. The varied exercise routines make working out fun, not work. The coaches inspire and care about my personal goals. It has taken years to find an exercise approach that works for me. Now that I have I couldn’t be happier!
Response: Kerry, thank you so much for your kind words! They mean so much and we LOVE having you as a member!
Emma Heidinger
Emma Heidinger: My friends and I absolutely love OTF…I never leave not feeling satisfied with my workout. It’s not only a great challenge, but an all around 10/10 experience!
Response: Wow! Thank you for sharing and we love having you!!!!
Ginger Mandel
Ginger Mandel: I really love Orange Theory -- I am about 50 classes in and already obsessed. I love the motivation that I feel when I go to class by being around others doing the same workut. I test my body for everything it can do each workout, especially on the treadmill. I am feeling much more confident about my body and what I can do already. Thank you Orange Theory for making me motivated to work out each day I go!!
Response: Wow, thank you so much, Ginger! We love having you as a member and are so glad to hear how much you enjoy it here with us. You've been absolutely crushing these workouts and should be so proud of the work you put in. Thanks again for the review - and for being part of our Orangetheory fam! 🧡

VIDA Fitness at The Yards: what do users think?
Kelly Blackwell
Kelly Blackwell: Is it a gym with standard equipment, yes. Is it convenient if you live in Navy Yard, yes. Are the extra perks they promise you worth the over priced membership, NO! Will you get the run around when trying to book your “complimentary training sessions”, YES! Will you get the run around when you want to stop your membership, YES! You’re an adult, make your own choice. Just know this is clearly a place with pressure on numbers so take that for what you want. Don’t go excited to start a fitness program because the trainers won’t respond and it will kill any motivation you have. Just be warned that this is probably not a place for anyone starting a new journey or looking for help. But if you just want a place to go, maybe it’s for you if you don’t mind the high cost.
Response: Hi Ron, thank you so much for the time to provide this feedback about your experience. We appreciate your business and strive to make sure all of our members have great experiences. We want to make this right! Please contact that location directly at 202-554-0444 so we can make sure your issues get resolved. Thank you for your business.
Sandie Bonwinkor
Sandie Bonwinkor: I’m currently a new member at this gym, so far I have to say.. everyone has been super nice and the energy of the gym naked me want to go hard (harder of course). The price for the kind of “luxury” gym and energy of the gym I think is worth it. Also, I get gym shy (lol). I quickly got over that because EVERYONE is literally in their own space and world, but super nice. It feels like I’m just kinda working out and doing my thing (which I love).
Response: Thanks for the review! We are pleased that you feel comfortable working out with us here at VIDA Fitness at The Yards. We strive to create a welcoming and accessible environment, and it sounds like we've achieved this! See you again for your next workout.
Spiro Dimakas
Spiro Dimakas: Great gym and staff. Clean and newer equipment. Parking is very problematic after 3pm and routinely cars are double parked in the lot. Limited street parking and the larger lot at the grocery store doesn’t honor cross validation so you’ll end up missing a lot of workouts if your plan is to drive after work. If you don’t drive this is a great gym to go to!
Response: Hi Spiro, thanks for the review and glad to hear you enjoy the gym. We totally appreciate that parking can sometimes be tricky, especially during peak hours, and have tried to alleviate that with the subsidized parking in the garage under the facility. We'll keep an eye on the double parking issue down there. Thanks again and hope to see you at the Yards soon!
Hope Greenleaf
Hope Greenleaf: Love the pool, the actual gym is great, the classes are just okay, and my favorite part is the luxurious locker rooms complete with sauna and steam room!
Response: Hi Hope, thanks so much for this review! We're happy to hear you have been enjoying the locker rooms, as well as the steam room and sauna. The pool is one of our favorite spots as well. Please stop by the front desk let us know how we can make the classes better! Thanks again for your feedback and see you at the Yards again soon!
David Gershman
David Gershman: Considering VIDA - on JUNETEENTH OF ALL DAY - made a WATERMELON-based cocktail speaks to the RACISM the company possesses. Can’t imagine what it’s like to carry that much hate. I feel bad for Vida— I feel bad for those whose values are such.
Joe Edward
Joe Edward: Amazing gym. If they ever close down, a night club could move in without changing a thing.
Response: Hi Joe, thanks so much for the 5 star review. What can we say, we like a gym that knows how to have good time! We're glad to hear you're enjoying the facilities at The Yards and can't wait to see you back again soon. In the meantime stay happy, stay healthy, and stay well! - The VIDA Team
Todd Marino
Todd Marino: Positive: Communication, Professionalism, QualityThe staff is super friendly and down to earth, they definitely took me by surprise! If you go at the right time, the gym is practically empty too; nice spacious, ridiculously clean & modern areas that you only have to share with a few others. I don’t use any of the amenities for your comparison purposes, to include the locker room.
